Reviews of New Star Seafood Restaurant
It's just a great little place to catch up with friends and have a meaningful conversation with family, all while enjoying delicious Asian cuisine. The service is great, not rushing you and very accommodating. The portions are amazing.
This was our asian cuisine dinner for Christmas Eve. I love the ladies who work here they're quick to get you what you ask for and even have great humorous banter.
If you haven't been to New Star Seafood Restaurant, then you're missing out on a great jewel in the Seattle area.
Service was great. The restaurant was clean, and the food was fresh! I ordered a combination dinner. This business does a large amount of carryout service.
Ordered food through grub hub. Everything was great and arrived hot except... general Tao's chicken was not my favorite... Chicken part was cooked well and was juicy i was just not a fan of the type of coating they had on the chicken or the sauce they used on it. My favorite was the honey walnut shrimp.
The chef is amazing he cooked the fish so crispy and perfectly. They have a good variety of food options. The service is very nice and friendly.
The food was simply amazing. The chili crab was fire but I like hot food so be warned. We also had peking duck, lobster, Mongolian beef and my friends got me to try jellyfish for the first time in my life. Lol. I survived! The pea shoots with garlic were on point. A few more dishes I can't even remember but they were excellent. Definitely going back!
Oh my gosh! You guys need to check this place out! Their menu was so massive! There is definitely something for everyone! My husband had a hard time deciding what he wanted and so did I! So, we ordered a variety! Their portions are sooooo big! Everything was so good!
I asked my son what he wanted and let him picked and.... he picked everything too! 🤣🤣🤣
What we ordered:
Lunch portion Singapore seafood noodle
Lunch portion chicken lo mein with veggies
Salt and pepper pork chops (soo good!!)
Orange chicken
Mongolian beef
Baby Bok Choy with garlic
Their lunch portion is really big!!!
We had the dinner combo for two, and it was amazing. All the dishes tasted authentic, the service was great. I especially liked the female owner (I'm not entirely sure), but she was super funny and a delight. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for great affordable Chinese seafood in Seattle.
Ordered the lobster( smallest was abt 3kg) with noodles for 2 and the serving was huge. Ingredient was very fresh but the taste was good just a little salty. The server was very friendly and when we asked to have noodles w the lobster she highlighted that it will be additional $15 just for the noodles. Overall the meal was good.
Good service, easy parking and great food. Had the Peking porkchop, cashew chicken, steamed fish, chinese brocolli with flounder and the daily soup. Daily soup was flavorful and refreshing. The Peking porkchop was tender, crispy, and had the perfect amount of sauce. The chinese brocolli with flounder was cooked perfectly. The brocolli was crunchy and cooked well. The flounder was light and meaty. Never had fish like this so it was nice.
Overall, wonderful meal. Left with leftovers so I'll get to enjoy it for lunch tmr. 😊
Food was amazing, customer service was excellent, overall deserves 5 stars. If you’re looking for a place to fill you up this is where to go.
A generous plate of food in DT Seattle for lunch? At $10.95 out the door plus $4.05 for great service? These two coexist at New Star Seafood. Honey Walnut Prawn with hot tea and egg drop soup. As with anything, attitude is everything. Fairly basic flavor but fresh quality ingredients prepared to order and served up hot and fast.
Honey walnut prawn and pan fried fish stuffed in eggplant. (#34, #65) The servers are friendly, delicious food and tea that helps the food taste better!
Best Chinese Restaurant in town! Delicious Peking Duck, Pepper Salt Pork Chop, Lobster, Steam Fish, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and sweet soup of Taro Tapioca coconut milk! Very happy after the meal 😋 Our favorite family birthday restaurant! …
Ah our favorites are always great...crispy seafood chow mein...
Delicious food & great friendly service. The Peking duck was amazing!
Authentic, tasty, affordable! Some of the best Chinese food we've had in quite a while. Can't go wrong here.
There is no customer in this restaurant on Sunday dinner time. We decided to skip the long waiting line in the neighbors Chengdu memory which has long waiting line outside.
Dishes are okay but price is little pricy.
One of the best Chinese restaurants in Seattle, especially their seafood dishes.
Ordering from the lunch menu, I expected smaller portions, but was very surprised that the posted images differed drastically than the plates we received. We received half portions! I have difficulty believing the lunch/ dinner chef contrasts so much!! I will not be returning.
📍Best shrimp fried rice and chow fun ✨
Foods are tasty and very clean!
My friend invited me for her son birthday at this place. A small restaurant in downtown China Town Seattle. It is quite nice that they have free parking stalls on the side, so no need to run around try to find a darn parking on the street!
The service is courageous, very please!
By chance we found the New Star. After attending our daughter's graduation ceremony at T Mobile arena, we started googling restaurants and hiking in the general direction of what we wanted to check out, which is everything. Our son in law found it and the decision was made. It is always easy to blame a bad decision on someone else. We walked in, our group of six. They immediately moved some tables and set us up. We ordered up six different dishes. As they arrived we started passing the dishes clockwise and counterclockwise. The meal was scrumptious. After our meal we were presented with the sweetest orange slices you could imagine. My fortune cookie read. Stay healthy, eat more Asian food. I think I will.

We ordered steamed rock cod. It was somewhat pricy, but very tasty. The fish was perfectly steamed and the sauce was flavorful without overwhelming the taste of the fish. We also ordered beef with green beans. This was very good, too. Sometimes, the chef puts in sugar, the dish is too salty, or the beans are undercooked. But here, the beef was tender, the beans cooked and still a bit crisp, and it wasn't sweet.
Every detail has been looking after. We ordered ginger and onion crab, chicken wings and stir fried Chinese broccoli. Crab dish was a little plain, but it's not far from standard. Chicken wings were so good and fresh. Crunchy and a little spicy hot made chicken wings were the winner of the table. Chinese broccoli were perfectly cooked with beautiful presentation. This is my first time here, clean and friendly service will make me to come again.
Everything is fresh, made to order. Delicious is an understatement. I have never had a bad meal from New Star.
For the best value, order take out via their website and pick up your order.
Delicious food and healthy portions. I had chicken egg foo young and was fantastic. It honey decor and the wait staff was very attentive.
It is downtown, so parking is a bit of a trial, but worth it
We ordered the Family dinner for 2 so we could try a variety of food & it was amazing! Everything was delicious, the portions are huge & the service was great. The best tastIng Chinese we’ve had in a long time. If you are near downtown Seattle, you must try it!
The Peking duck is not that great like the picture, it was so dry, and the duck should be lean, less fat. It just the same as regular roasted duck if dont want to say it is worst than the regular roasted duck or BBQ duck !
My wife and I are seasoned travelers and always appreciate good food, great service and excellent pricing. New Star Seafood Restaurant in Seattle exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend this cozy, clean and friendly restaurant. We are definitely coming back to eat here when we are back in Seattle.
It is our first time in Seattle and we just google it. The receptionist and the staff was very accommodating. We ordered their family combo A. The egg flower soup is sooo good, you can taste all the ingredients. Another one is the beef, it literally melts in your mouth. Definitely a must try here in Seattle. 👌👌👌 …
Doesn't look like much from the outside but the crab is fantastic. Also ordered sesame chicken which was very good. Staff is friendly, service was great.
We 2 had the family meal "B". Everything was delicious. More than enough. Prawns were huge, lightly battered. Beef was very tender.
Great value and service!
Very good Chinese seafood (with parking lot) in the International District. I've always been pleased with what we've ordered, though I always let my girlfriend do the ordering (she's a native Cantonese speaker). We always get the "Fish fillet with King Mushrooms".
Wonderful food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, clean restaurant. Will def go here again!
Went for a late dinner last night and had the family-style combo. Everything was fantastic, including the Sauvignon Blanc wine I ordered with it. I’ll go back.
The food was so authentic, so amazing...and the ladies there were so kind to us all. Great experience for us Californians here in Seattle! Glad we chose this place to eat on our trip. Thank you Seattle♡~TheZakiBunch💞👍😁 …
We drive 63 miles one way to eat whole fried lobster or crab over rice noodles. The seafood is held in a tank, the hostess asks whether the size suits, then after a good wait, heaven on a platter.it is our Birthday treat.
Parking is expensive but the restaurant will give you a parking pass. A picture of the lobster is on the site.
Been here many times. Great location to reserve multiple tables for special occasions as there are 5 large round tables at the one side if this restaurant. Food is tasty. They also offer free parking at the lot next door, remember to park closest to the wall.
One of my favorite Chinese spots! The fried flounder is money!
This is my new go to now for Authentic Chinese food. Since Hong Kong Seafood had close its Rainier location, I had to find a new place to go for Chinese food. We had the Prawns, Fish Mah Soup and the Beef Fried Rice. It's all delicious!
Great food, quick service, very clean place. During lunch time they give you a lunch menu but if you ask they will let you order from the general menu that includes a bigger variety of food. They are closed on Wednesdays though.
Find is fantastic. Salt and Pepper Pork Chops and Salt and Papper Flounder are my favorite. Egg drop soup is perfect. Thank you sister for always providing excellent service.
The food here is amazing!! Definitely come! Great value and big portions.
Great food and service. Staff are friendly, especially to my baby daughter. Making sure she's well fed.
Great, authentic chinese food. Always come here with family. Recommend the Peking duck and salt and pepper crab. Green onion ginger lobster is my favorite
The food was delicious! Fresh and not overly oily like some Chinese food can be. Service was great too!
The best chinese restaurant in Seattle! The lunch special for $7.95 comes with the best hot and sour soup I have ever had or you can have the egg drop. The large selection of entrees come in huge portions! The food is amazing! I have the hunan chicken and fried rice
Such amazing food. Everything is so fresh - especially the veggies. Clean eating for sure. Always my family’s go-to Chinese restaurant in the International District. Must try.
The food is phenomenal and the service is friendly! I recommend the Peking duck, honey walnut shrimp and the salt and pepper pork!
Decent dumplings. Slightly bland chicken fried rice. Amazing Mongolian beef. Great small location. Not sure if the food was my problem or theirs.
Good, traditional American style Chinese food. Nothing special though and a little overpriced for the quality. Lunch special should be extended to weekends.
Solid, better-than-just-American-style lunch. Great value. Didn't have enough folks to order a proper dinner, but it's on the list. Live lobsters and crabs.
The 4 stars are for the quality of food and the quickness in which I received my food. The customer service is not so friendly, but you get what you ask for. My first time eating here in Seattle...I would come again.
Good old fashioned Chinese food. Great lunch specials with a selection of about 40 specials! My go to place when I feel like a quick Chinese lunch. Friendly folks too.
Come here for the seafood and Cantonese cuisine, but don't expect much from Szechuan cuisine: very very oily eggplant. Vegetables come at a strangely steep price $20 for ~2 lb of bai cai miao (sorry no Chinese typing skills). Excellent seafood, get it!
My favorite Asian restaurant. The owner, Mae, always makes sure that my special dish is prepared perfectly 👌. I recommend them highly. …
Lobster noodle was a crazy stuff I tried for first time. The peking duck was delicious along with the steamed fish, which I also believe could have used some more spices.
I was pleased when I ate here on a number of occasions. I just ordered take out that was over cooked. So, a mixed review.
My son and his fiancee took me out to dinner there for mother's day. It was great. Food was very tasty.
This place is truly a gem. It isn't flashy but down to earth and the seafood is amazing. I ordered prawns in lobster sauce and absolutely loved it.
This is our go-to place in my family whenever we have something to celebrate. Friendly owners, and you know they will consistently have great food.
Love the lunch specials.
Seafood was great. We got fried Dungeness crab and fish fillet. Super fast service especially compared to the other restaurants in town.
We came there because we were hungry, and it was place open after 10. From the outside, it looks like some random hole in the wall place, but the food was surprisingly decent and service was excellent.
Good home cooking chinese food, says the bf. Got some crab, fried pork chops, fried fish, clams, a green vegetable, house special soup - "ley tong", sake, wine, sapporo.
So good taste
Excellent good and service. My wife and I loved 😍 it. …
Very good food. I got the steamed chicken (#90) and it was very authentic. Will go again!
Great and delicious food! Service was great!
Great service and yummy food! What else could you ask for?
Definitely worth checking out!
Lunch Menu - healthy portions at affordable price. Prawns in Lobster sauce is incredible!
Excellant, cordial service, great price and some of best tasting Chinese food and we have been in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. GREAT
Great food and a pleasant staff. We get take out from them quite often and have never had an issue
Best orange chicken I've ever eaten
Delicious food, great service, free parking right outside the door. Can't ask for more!!
The weekday lunch specials are a super deal. Fresh veggies, good quality meats and delicious flavor.
Good taste but expensive.
Clean, friendly and very tasty dishes. BTW, their crab is super yummy!
Delicious food and perfect portions. Every dish is beautifully seasoned.
Oh my word, large portions we had 3 meat, 1 rice and 1 vegetable and fed 4 adults and still had leftovers.
Awesome fried rice
I really enjoy this place. Their food is delicious and the people are very nice
Dynamite, authentic Asian food!!!
Good wok hai. Didn't have lobster to stir fry the day I went. Otherwise good food
Best Asian food in the PNW! The seafood dishes are particularly tasty.
The price for the lunch special is reasonable for such good quality food!
Very good food and excellent service. I love this place.
I've been dining here for years. Hands down there is none better.
Food and service excellent, also free parking after 4pm.
Try the deep fried fillet flounder with hot pepper and dry salt. It's amazing!
