Reviews of New Saigon Restaurant
Delicious and a perfect restaurant to enjoy Asian meal. Their Vietnamese cuisine has variety of option and the quantity is great and filling.
The staff member is very attentive and approachable to their guest.
Please do visit.
Stopped in after a show at the Paramount hoping for quick service and good food. We got both. It was not busy and we were seated and our orders were in within ten minutes. I opted for two appetizers and they were hot and just what wanted. My wife had the pork and shrimp vermicelli. She said it was very good but would have like the sauce that was served separately to be hotter. Great service and we left satisfied.
Stopped here after a day of shopping for handmade gifts and I needed something comforting.
I had item C32, a vermicelli bowl with grilled chicken and shrimp. I meant to order one with a spring roll, but I got too excited.
I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee which was delightful.
Service was quick, efficient, and kind.
They have a lot of fabulous vegetarian options and a separate menu so you don't have to look at the whole menu searching for the vegetarian items.
In a gloomy, rainy Seattle evening, I was craving for something very comforting. What else can beat the gloominess, than a bowl of hot chicken broth, so I managed to convince my colleagues to this bookmarked Vietnamese place for a bowl of pho.
Did read the not so great reviews on the service quality of this place, but as a braven soul to beat the weather I plunged deep into New Saigon Vietnamese Restaurant.
After getting quickly seated & handed down our menus, there were options aplenty on the Pho Front, to choose from.
I chose the Pho Ga, a chicken soup for the soul, while my other friends ordered a Beef Pho & a Vegetarian Pho.
Less than 10 minutes, my hot fragrant Pho Ga arrived with an extra helping of basil, chilli slices, bean sprouts & some lemon wedges.
The Pho was delicious, and had packed a lot of flavour from the chicken broth, the cilantro, & the long slices of shredded chicken itself. With the rice noodles, this was a warm & perfect meal to end my day 2 in Seattle.
Was too full with the Pho Ga, yet I was greedy to try their Shrimp & Chicken Fried & reserved it for my next visit.
Well, coming to the service, I personally did not fell that it was off. Both the staff that served us very polite, friendly, helped us order the right portion sizes, tried to help us choose a vegetarian pho for my colleague. Yeah there was this one thing, we were finishing our drinks after the meal, 10 mins beyond their usual closing time, & we were requested to finish & leave soon in a hurried tone, but that’s just this one thing.
A great place for some yummy Pho, vegetarian friendly, decent price point in downtown Seattle. New Saigon Vietnamese Restaurant, am definitely coming back for more.
I was wandering around and saw the sign that said they have vegetarian pho, so I decided to stop in. They have several vegetarian options, in fact, including two pho. I ordered the fresh spring rolls with tofu and the vegetable pho.
I came in at an odd time (around 3:30), but there were others eating, as well. Service was excellent. The staff was friendly, they paid attention to my body language - noting when I was ready to order, when I wanted more water, when I was ready for the bill - and saw to my needs quickly.
Forks, chopsticks and soup spoons were all on the table so customers can choose the utensils they wanted. A napkin holder and various condiments were on the table, too.
The food was decent, but bland. However, sriracha and soy sauce were both on the table, so that could be somewhat remedied. Still, I would have liked more flavor in the pho.
Overall, if you're looking for a decent pho place that includes some vegetarian options, this is worth a try.
Located down in the basement of another store, as you enter the signage will lead you to the dining area. Food is ok, a bit pricey, I'd rather go to Tamarind tree if to look for authenticity and flavor. Place is clean to the level of it's location. Quick service.
Ordered the shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce and the rare steak pho. Thought both were ample in size. It wasn't lacking meat and noodles with the soup! Good flavor.
Food great. Service was wierd. The server (potentially the manager or owner) seemed like he could care less if we were there. Would likely not return, despite the yummy food.
Fantastic spot! Some of the best pho and fresh spring rolls we’ve had- This is our favorite pho spot downtown
Cool location under the building. Clean environment and fast service. The pho was pretty good, lots of meat and noodles. Priced pretty well compared to others, should check out at least once.
The veggie pho here is literally the best I’ve ever had. It’s probably made with angel’s tears.
We enjoyed this place. Quiet, peaceful, friendly. Got a tasty plain dish with plenty of fresh veggies and tofu. Veggie egg rolls also very tasty, with some unusual spice I could not identify.
I ordered Bún Thịt Nướng for takeout. Quick service and it was a good portion size. I wish there was more carrot and daikon in the dish, but, it was still good. I was surprised how many steps there are to actually get to the restaurant.
don't get fool by the big vegetarian sign at the entrance . They only have a vegetarian soup and vegetarian appetizers . ZERO vegetarians entree ...that was disappointing .
tastewise food was Good enough though.
It was ok. I didn’t eat much - just a snack. The person at the front was “friendly “ and openly disappointed that i didn’t order more. The fresh spring roll was nice. The i ed coffee was a bit small but tasty
Pho is delicious. Plate was Good size and inexpensive egg rolls were rich in flavor
Great food, a little pricey for what online says, service was short and quick.
Best Vietnamese food and service in the downtown core. Below ground between Pike and Pine on 6th Ave. Priced higher than in the international district however.
Great food, lots of options for vegetarian folks, quick service, cozy environment! Can't wait to eat down here once infection rates come down. You won't be disappointed!
I've passed this place for years. What a mistake. It's my new favorite spot. I was a bit concerned because of the time we had available but never said anything. We were seated, ordered and eating in less than 10 minutes. The springrolls were a little stuck together like they had been sitting around but inside they were super fresh. The greens were perfect, rice moist. They were much larger than I expected and the side sauce was great. Both entrees we're good sized and tasted excellent and very fresh. The Tofu Pad Thai, I often don't care for because the noodles are gummy, but here they weren't at all like that and the Tofu was cut in nice long sizes an excellent dish. I can't wait to go back.
The Pho broth is delicious, that's my way of judging how the rest of the food is going to be. I always get the Pho tai with extra veggies...so yummy and huge portion, have 1/2 left for the next day. Quick service for take-away. Very friendly family operation. The restaurant is clean, below the street level right next to Eileen Fischer's clothing.
Give them a try.
This restaurant has it's own unique flavor and style. The food was on par with all the other similar restaurants I've eaten at. Excellent broth flavor in their Phó, noodles were just right and service was acceptable. A bit above average... Still some room for improvement.
I stopped here for the fist time to pick up some lunch before work. I thought the prices were a bit high but I thought it was worth a try. To my delight the wonton noodle soup I ordered was beyond my expectations. They gave me the broth separate from everything else. The wontons were delicious and the plate was well served for the price. I will definitely be coming back.
What can I say, delicious pho!
My go-to place in downtown when I get overwhelmed with my over all day that went from work or even just spending time in downtown. Quite and solemn place to relax with unwinding music while feeding yourself with descent food that's worth the price. There is some couple charging station if your phone is about to die. The food is good not great but not bad. There's nothing I can complain about. I come here often to get away from the busy downtown I love but also hate. Thank goodness this place exist. The food is serve with much respect. I highly recommend this place not expecting too much. It's not a luxury place but the place is well maintained and spotless clean! Worth stopping by!
Delicious pho! Great and friendly service! Will definitely be back for more!
The food was decent, nothing amazing. I ordered vermicelli stir fry that came out pretty soggy but still edible. We had to ask for our drinks three times after our food had already arrived. We ate here because it was not very expensive. This wouldn't be my first choice but I'd still eat here if I had to.
We had two pho, we were served in 5 minutes. We also got 2 take out entrees , EVERYTHING taste AMAZING, It was clean and a large dining area, the syaff was very attentive. $48 total for 4 meals. highly suggest this place.
This is a Vietnamese restaurant in a prime shopping district and blocks away from the historic Pike Place Market. It is located one flight of stairs down from street level. There is no elevator, so if you cannot handle stairs, this restaurant is not for you. The menu offers noodle soups, stir fried noodles including pad thai, grilled meats over rice and cold vermicelli bowls topped with grilled meats. There is also an unusually large menu section of vegetarian choices. The quality and portions of menu items are pretty standard, but expect to pay more, considering this restaurant is in the middle of a high rent district.
Great vegetarian food with very fresh ingredients and the right amount of spice
a nice quiet place with good food to escape the downtown bustle
Some of the best pho you'll encounter on the west side. Rich broth, plenty of selection, short wait after ordering, and a cozy environment.
Only significant downside is the lack of portion sizes- the dishes are limited to one size, which is not always the correct one.
When the chef, host, waiter and bartender are all from the same Vietnamese family, chances are, the food will be great. Such is the case at New Saigon which has great Vietnamese food at a very reasonable price. The Pho is very satisfying, especially on a cold rainy day... perfect for Seattle. There may be better Vietnamese restaurants in the Seattle area, but none as convenient to downtown as New Saigon.
When in town I was craving some noodles on a chilly day. This place hit the spot right away. Loved that it was 1/2 a block away from my hotel. Soup was good and the serving size was large. Would come here again when in town.
Super friendly staff, food came very quickly perfect place if you want a quick bite. Great vegetarian selection too!
Fantastic Pho and quick service. I think it is a little underrated due to it's location below street level. The soup is very good. It's a great lunch spot with very little wait, if you need to do lunch in under 45 min.
Great food with tons of choice on the menu, generous portions, really lovely service. I dined with a Vietnamese friend (who grew up in Vietnam) and they confirmed the food is both authentic and really good. Would definitely go again.
Located down a flight of stairs, the restaurant was clean and quiet, a stark contrast to the busy street outside you walk in from. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're trying to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown, while still on a budget. The Pho is good, and so is the Vermicelli.
Shrimp tempura was very good and tasty.
Very good pho...generous serving, and plenty of basil, jalepenos, lime wedges and mung beans to add to it. I dined here twice while in Seattle. Had a terrible cold and was glad to find my favorite antidote at this restaurant. Very friendly staff.
Great tasting Pho and friendly service. I've eaten a lot of pho and this place was better than most; not too salty, and you can taste how clean it is.
It might look sketch when you jave to go downstairs, bit its far from a hole in the wall. Highly recommend getting your pho fix here.
The hole-in-the-wall experience at its finest. Food is pretty good and nicely affordable. Service is okay though it can swing very wildly depending on the time of day and such. Location in general is of course awful unless you're already walking by, but if you are on foot and in the area, especially if you're attending an event at the Washington State Convention Center, it's a great place to sneak off for a quiet meal in a place that will be less likely to be mobbed.
This isn't the best Vietnamese restaurant I've been to, but the pho is good, the service is quick, and prices are very affordable. However, there isn't really any Banh Mi on the menu, and it's easy to miss the restaurant itself - from the street it looks like just a tiny door, but it actually leads down to a decently sized space on a basement level.
Friendly and fast service. We were in the mood for Pho; I had rare beef with tripe, my daughter shrimp. Both were delicious. The shrimp Pho was beautiful with bright broccoli and bok choy.
Went for lunch during PAX 2016 and was able to get seated almost immediately. It took some time to get our orders in. I ordered spring rolls and the Pho Special. The food didn't stand out in any way but it was filling.
If you're in the downtown area for some quick authentic dishes then I highly recommend this place. I'm usually here twice a month and get my food in 10 minutes or so. I'm a big fan of their shrimp and chicken fried rice.
I lived in Seattle years ago and still can’t forget this restaurant! This is absolutely the most delicious food I have ever eaten!
Wow, Soo good and cheap. Nearly every entree is 10.99 to 12.99. they have Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee. I had the chicken curry soup with rice, Soo good. My daughter had sweat and store chicken, also Soo good and fill of red bell peppers, my mom had shrimp pho and it came with tons of veggies and a respectable amount of shrimp. All portions were more than we could eat. We left full without feeling overstuffed and remained that way the rest of the night. I will be back as often as I can.
This is my new favorite asian restaurant that I have ever been to, when you take cost into the factoring.
As a Vietnamese who've just moved to Seattle, I was thoroughly impressed with the selection of dishes here. The food is really good, especially the shrimp salad. The service could be a hit or miss though
The pho was excellent but service was a little strange and the atmosphere felt like I wasn't supposed to be there. It was in a basement but it didn't have to feel like a church basement.
Good food, weird atmosphere.
This place is a diamond in the rough. I was a little skeptical, I don't normally like going to places that make me go up and down stairs to get in and out, but the pho here is worth it. The service was a little slow compared to some of the other pho restaurants I've been to, but I would come here again the next time I'm in Seattle for sure.
Ordered Shrimp pho and it comes with a side of bamboo shoots, jalapeno and basil. The pho was amazing for a cold afternoon. Definitely recommend this place! Service was quick as well.
Pho was really good, service was near perfect
Best vegetarian pho I have ever had!
The hot Vietnamese coffee is fantastic! I had the Chicken Po. Great as usual. Treated as though you are family. Great value.
I had the Pho with raw beef and it's was pretty decent. It had the right amount of beef and the broth was just ok.
The location is in the basement so there are no windows.
Glad I finally stopped here after years of walking by.. was craving a not-too-heavy lunch and the grilled shrimp bun (dry noodle bowl) was perfect- the basil and veggie toppings were just what I needed!
One of the better Pho spots in Seattle to eat, it is hard to find good ones. The staff man was extremely friendly, I really enjoyed my meal and service.
Best broth I've ever had. We came across this place by chance and were pretty sketched out that it was like a downstairs type thing but their food was really good.
I think the restaurant is nice. However, its cleanliness rating is lower than what I expected. This will be a factor consumers might want to consider when thinking about dining here.
Services was slow, one person on the floor, but the food was great.
Moderately priced, consistently good.
Good place to go if you really need pho. Service is lacking and borderline rude at times. If you are willing to get out of the shopping area, there are better places to go.
We are coming from Singapore and definitely looking for rice for our meal then we found this restaurant with reasonable price for the food especially in downtown area. Please serve with smile :)
Their service is very prompt. Our soup and appetizers were served in no time. Food taste was average.
Pretty good Pho' and great service. The owners are very friendly and always make you feel welcome
Decent pho at a reasonable price. Service is quick, at least if you avoid the lunch rush.
Can not go wrong with their dishes. The owner and staff provided excellent customer service.
It was okay. Seriously, okay. If you want good Vietnamese food go to Pho Cyclo on Capitol Hill or Pho Le's for seriously good pho.
This is easily the best pho place in downtown. If you love pho, you'll love this quaint little restaurant.
Great Pho, no really, these folks bring in the real traditional Pho and not some watered down imitation!
Decent price menu right in downtown Seattle. The soup for the Pho is just okay, could be better.
My favorite local Pho. The service is perhaps not the best but the Pho is quite good.
Good pho, I just wish they offered more than one size. A larger size would be nice as well.
Great Pho. Generous portions. Prompt service. Excellent experience all around.
Food was good, fresh and not overly salty, service was quick and so was the billing. in and out in a flash as i like.
One of my favorite places to visit in Seattle
Great food, especially for vegetarians. Really delicious vegetarian pho on the menu
Food is great, prices good. Service is always (been here 20 plus times) SLOW!
Pricey, but really tasty. Hard to find better pho in the downtown core.
Excellent vermicelli bowls with right flavor and fresh ingredients for about $10.
Friendly service. Good pho noodles. Generous size bowls of noodles.
Food was good, fresh and not too salty, service was quick and so was billing.
The food, the service, the prices all absolutely fantastic!! Truly a hidden gem in Seattle!
Average Pho, very thin and clear broth with light flavor.
Very good food and great service!!
Very good vietnamese food, pho and dumplings are highly recommended
One of the best Phos I've had. Would recommend!
Good chicken pho soup, felt rushed with the receipt less than halfway through
The pho at New Saigon is very rich and not overpriced by downtown standards.
Very tasty Vietnamese food not far from the convention center, this little hole in the wall provides great bun back thief and shrimp spring rolls at a decent price.
Great food, fast service. Not crowded at lunch on a Saturday.
pretty good pho, super fast service for lunch
Good Pho! I liked it. Just don't expect good service.
Noodles were alright but service was way too slow to try and come back for lunch during the work week.
Pho and vermicelli noodles are pretty tasty there. Recommend.
They have vegetarian options! The Pho was terrific.
Value cost. Delicious. Friendly staff. Big space, but need to go downstair, inconvenience for buggy.
Always a great lunch spot. Great, inexpensive, and fast service.
It is a large space, but I would like to take care of the interior.Wait a little while the meal is finished..
Good Pho as well as other vermicelli and rice dishes.
Not bad as a dine-out place, decent pho.
Amazing veggie pho with tofu. Loved every last drop of it.
I used to love coming here. Great pho broth
This place feels like a dungeon, but that aside it has pretty good food at a good speed.
Big fan of pho but I do wish they had banh mi
Noodles weren't completely cooked. Service was excellent.
Amazing pho for a great price in the heart of downtown seatle
Wonderful Pho and a nice family atmosphere!
My favorite pho in downtown Seattle. A hidden gem amongst the shopping and tourists.
Good Pho. My water glass was kept filled.
Good Pho. Very generous portions!
Food was OK. Place was clean n warm.
Great food, good service, clean and efficient. Thanks!
Your average Vietnamese food. It's a good joint in downtown Seattle, but that's about it.
It was a good place for nice Vietnamese food
Decent quick place for lunch. Food is average.
Fast, tasty. Clean.
The vegetarian pho was soooo good.
Great food, easy location, quick service
Doesn't look that big from outside, but quite spacious inside.
Worth the stop....been here many times and it is consistently good...!!!
Their pho soup is not bad
Excellent food and service. Would recommend.
Pretty good food.
Good
Good food for a decent price in downtown, awful service.

Good food, fair price for downtown
Great pho! Love the prawns.

Quick service! Good for quick lunchtime bite.
