Reviews of Migoto
I wasn’t impressed. With all the excellent reviews I expected more. The sushi was pretty good. The miso soup was delicious. But I didn’t like the rolls. The table was not properly clean, but that’s a problem with many places in Seattle.
Laid back environment with pretty decor. The outside eating area is comfortable. The service is courteous and super welcoming. The food was delicious. The katsu bento box was legit. The seafood stir-fry was delicious and very filling. Highly recommended.
Sushi was ok. Very spicy, fish tasted fresh. Overall flavor though was off balance even for the non spicy rolls we got. Service was extremely slow also.
Amazing service. So kind and kept making sure we where good. Food is AMAZING!!!!! We tried their suggestions and was happily impressed. Restaurant is clean, fast service.
The sushi rice is very dry. The taste is okay, not worth the price. Besides sushi, I also ordered a coffee plan and most of the blueberries are moldy!
!!Totemo oishii desu!!
Very authentic Japanese dining experience. Sashimi, nigiri and very basic rolls. Excellent sake, get it hot. The chirashi bowl samples many of the chef's choices. Get extra wasabi and enjoy.
Very good food, low wait time. Friendly staff. I got the sushi roll sampler and it was perfect.
Cost was fair, and felt good supporting a local place. Would definitely stop by again to have lunch on the patio.
A bit pricy but quite delicious! Love the little mushrooms in the miso!
Ordered fire crab rolls, sushi #A combo and shrimp tempura. The tempura batter was too thick (I like less batter and more shrimp) so that took away 1 star. Fire crab rolls are delicious. Nigiri was okay but nothing too special.
The omakase was amazing!! The fish was extremely fresh and cut perfectly for every rice ball. The seared raw pieces were unforgettable and the server was so helpful; great sake recommendations! Well priced menu.
Food was great! Small restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Our server was very nice and attentive.
The Roll Sampler was a great choice if you're indecisive. The seafood yakisoba was very good. The octopus was a little tough for my liking, but everything else was so good.
I’ve been coming here since their grand opening. It’s an underrated neighborhood sushi spot that has great quality fish and great service. Honestly, I like the sushi here more than Japonessa’s!
Beautiful clean space and impressive service. We've ordered nigiri and sashimi sets and they were fresh and delicious. Overall it was a solid dining experience, definitely recommend.
Our cats were at Jet City down the road for an hour so we popped in here to grab some sushi and we're glad we did! We tried a bunch of different specialty rolls and they were all delicious. The only downside is they don't have a wide selection of more normal rolls but I didn't mind because I like the specialty rolls. Service was good and the resturant was nice, no complaints and would definitely go back!
It was great The Sushi chef was amazing I think his name was Dave Nakamura
Excellent food. Great little eating place. Went right when they opened, so no way.
I can't speak for what it's like later in the day.
Ordered the sushi a, and the sashimi was delicious. Low piano music made a nice ambiance for lunch and good food made for a very enjoyable lunch.
I would go again.
Plus they have a bar section with a TV for solo eaters.
Awesome food. Awesome experience. Delicious and delicate fish like always. Great experience, always a blast with koi and tina here. I take my gf here every week at least!
Delicious sushi and sashimi, and the best gyoza I've ever had in a cute space with chill music incredibly friendly staff and a great little covered heated patio. (An actual patio, not a covid afterthought like most restaurants here.) Neighborhood fav.
Delicious sushi, nice staff, and stiff drinks. My husband and I love this place. Try the crispy tofu roll and the Chilli Cha Cha roll.
Lunch hour is the best time to eat here. Friendly service and generous portions. The food tastes good. One of Capitol Hill's best kept secrets.
Partner's new favorite roll (Las Vegas) and a super-fresh, high quality omekase. Highly recommended - gets close to the quality of much more expensive Seattle Sushi places at a fraction of the price!
Super underrated, I'm almost scared to review because I enjoy the lack of wait times 😂 Prices are more than fair for the quantity and quality of food/drinks, and theres even dedicated parking, both of which are rare in Seattle
It is the best sushi restaurant in Seattle! Plus it’s super close to Seattle U! The food is amazing and the people are super kind 10/10!!!
I have been waiting for a quality japeness restaurant at a reasonable, for Seattle, price in Capital Hill. This place did not disappoint. My $12 bento box was delicious, healthy, and filling. The atmosphere was good and the staff was very nice.
If you want a five star, expensive, blow your mind Japanese restaurant on Capital Hill then the answer is still Momiji. But if you want something a bit cheaper but still great then you have to check out Migoto.
This will definitely be my new go to for a weekend lunch or a Tuesday dinner when I don't feel like cooking.
This place holds a special place in my heart. It's a good summer patio and fatty tuna type of place. And gotta love a place with a parking lot.
Loved eating on the patio! Excellent service. We found the food to be ok, too salty.
This is definitely my new go-to sushi spot! Not only are the rolls delicious, the portions are generous and prices are very reasonable. Service is prompt and friendly. Migoto is a hidden gem in the Cherry Hill district.
Great little sushi spot and wonderful owners, food was fresh as can be.
Excellent menu, fresh sashimi, delicious desserts and great service!
Great service by the sushi chef whom recommended good nigiri. Good fish at a good price.
Great Spider, Seattle, and...well, every sushi roll we've had here has been great. Outdoor seating was nice, and not too crowded. Our service was quick, food was fresh, and my partner really enjoyed the sake.
Migoto was absolutely wonderful! We had a group of almost 30 attendees and John was more than accommodating. They have a nice meeting area upstairs set up with anything you'd need to do a meeting dinner. The service was phenomenal. Our server worked very hard and made sure everyone was very happy! The chef hand picked the fish for the sushi and did a phenomenal job. Our group was very full and we had a lot left over as well. We were extremely satisfied with Migoto and I highly recommend!!
I regularly order from Migoto 2x/month and they have never disappointed me! Their sushi is fresh and always delicious. It's quick and easy to place and pick up orders. They did just raise their minimum order to $45 for free delivery (from $35) but it's still worth it. There are also 2-3 designated free parking spots outside for quick pick-ups.
We had such a great experience at Migoto. The service was so friendly and the sushi is DELICIOUS!! We sat outside on the patio and they turned on the heat for us without asking. It was my husband's birthday and they sang happy birthday when they brought out the Tempura Chresecake which was Amazing. I don't know if I enjoyed the cheesecake more or the strawberries that came with it. I don't even know how to describe them. They were uniquely incredible.
We had a wonderful time! Everything was so delicious! I had the Moonlight cocktail and it was so unique and tasty. We will be back for sure!
Pretty decent. Has parking and not in the middle of busy Capitol Hill but close enough
We really enjoyed this place. The sushi was so fresh and tasty, and the sushi chef was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a variety of sushi, and it was all delicious! The host gave great recommendations, too.
Pretty great green tea and good sushi rolls. Service was friendly and the menu was extensive! The restaurant temp. was a bit cold. Not a place to go if you're in a rush.
This is the best sushi place I have ever eaten! Seriously, they have ruined other places for me! The staff are so kind, their delivery is very fast and everything I have ever ordered from here has been amazing! If you are considering going here do yourself a favor and go!
I love seared salmon, and of the places I've been, they have the best. Their tamago is also a sweet way to end your meal. They offer a few vegetarian rolls which are quite tasty, especially if you're in the mood for pickled veggies. They're always prompt and I have never gotten an incorrect delivery.
Absolutely delicious! Ordered a sushi combo with an extra roll on the side. Great portions, friendly staff, great atmosphere. Was a little worried by it looking so empty, but don’t let that turn you away; it was some of the best sushi I’ve ever had! Will be returning for sure!
Wonderful sushi, very delicate and innovative. Fun vibe with amazing above average service. Great location and value. 10/10!
I got some nigiri, a Seattle roll and grilled mackerel lunch. It was my first time having mackerel and it was delicious! It's also very filling as it comes with rice, veggies, and soup. The nigiri and the roll were also very good, however that mackerel dish was the star of my lunch hour. Definitely going back!
The restaurant was spectacular. The food was amazing, the employees were super friendly and kind, it didn’t take a while to get our food and the place was awesome very clean and bright. Would definitely recommend for a nice lunch with friends or family. 10/10
Yum! I'm so glad to have a wonderful Japanese restaurant in the neighborhood. I had the bento box to go with saba (mackerel) and sashimi. It was delicious. The miso was flavorful, the sashimi was fresh and the saba perfectly salted. I can't wait to go back there to eat in person when everyone can get vaccinated. Until then, I've found a wonderful place to get takeout.
Really solid sushi and other Japanese food with an extensive menu. Bento boxes allow you to sample a lot at once. If you want rolls, the specialty rolls are relatively affordable and all the ones I've tried have been good. They are good for takeout, but it's always a special treat to eat in and enjoy their green tea during the meal.
I ordered a sashimi dinner combo, sushi dinner combo, chicken karage, lion roll, and tempura combo for take out. It was ready on time, hot when I got home, and it was all absolutely delicious. The sashimi was buttery and fresh. The sushi roll was tasty and light. The karage and tempura were fried to perfection. Loved the dinner!
I found Migoto's food to be quite good. If they weren't so far away from me (1 hour), I'd visit again.
I had the sashimi B combo and it was well worth it. Almost every piece was moist and tender.
The edamame was hot but not salty like some places. So whether you like it will be a personal preference.
Can’t believe I have not been here before!!! Lunch special is great value and also the cocktails are stiff while still being well priced. The food was delicious and the chef is sooooo considerate! He thought he had burned the mackerel too much and gave me an extra serving cooked to his perfection. And! To be honest, the “burned” one was still amazing! I will definitely be back.
Also, they follow COVID guidelines accurately. So it’s safe to go for sit down if you are tired of being cooped up at home.
All of the food was exceptional. I go out to eat sushi quite a lot and this one is so far my favorite place in Seattle.
Every dish they served us was excellent. I often order takeout and they give us an amazingly beautiful presentation to take home with us. I have eaten in there twice now. The ambience is amazing and the server was super super nice, even though she did not speak English very well. Dining there made me feel like royalty I was very well taken care of and my date was very impressed.
Was pleasantly surprised, food was fresh and yummy, attentive and friendly staff. Taking one star off because roll was brought out before appetizer and hot entree. But food came out very quickly overall. Would highly recommend for quality dinner!
I rate places five stars if I'd come back within the month. We spent about 3 hours here on the heated patio, enjoying the rolls, chirashi, and a few of the Japanese cocktails.
Will definately be back.
You can order affordable options or spend fairly lavishly. I've had an occasional item that just wasn't good, such as over fried squid. But when it's good, it's very good.
I'd also like to have something other than Japanese beer on tap or at least bottles of something more local.
Really good sushi and friendly staff.
The sushi was really good and affordable!! My favorite was the Migoto roll and the drinks are bomb. Also the servers were all super nice!!
Excellent experience. Inside is quiet from outside noise and the heavily tinted windows make this a cozy restaurant. The sushi is some of the best I've ever had and the katsu don is delicious. This is my new sushi spot.
The service is super friendly and high quality food. We interacted with the sushi chef at the bar and he was super kind. As a thank you, they gave us free fruit desert! Definitely coming back!
Food was solid, atmosphere was interesting, dance music and low light. Humongous selection of sushi rolls. Reasonable prices compared to many other Seattle sushi locations of this caliber.
Small little joint with an unassuming exterior yet a very cozy and inviting interior. There is a wide variety of food choices from sushis of all types of fish, teriyakis, donburi, and some very unique deserts (we loved the cheesecake tempura and strawberry banana eggrolls!) They also have a nice selection of American and Japanese cocktails that taste good and aren't watered down. The service is pretty good since it's small and quaint and the server doesn't have to cover a huge floor area by themselves.
Such good service for a great price! The sushi chef at the bar is the best, and he makes you feel very welcome. The rolls were absolutely delicious! Love this place
Perfect little sushi spot for date night or quick take out. Good ambiance and service, and parking on site or on the street.
I came here for lunch. I ordered Bento box with Saba shioyaki, California roll, tempula, small sarada rice and miso soup. It was excellent. Staff was nice, clean bathroom. There is a parking space south side of the building. I loved it!
This restaurant is far from where we live but it is well worth the trip. The food and the service are exceptional and it is now one of my favorite restaurants and my #1 favorite Japanese Restaurant. I'm already planning my next meal there.
This is a nice little sushi place with their own parking lot. The sushi was really tasty.
Great sushi and very friendly staff
Amazing Japanese food, our favorite in the entire Seattle area. You'd have to go to San Francisco for comparable quality, but you'd also pay a lot more there too. A real gem hidden by Seattle U.
Came here for lunch. Had a nigiri sushi platter. Everything was amazing and the staff was so sweet. All smiles here.
Unpretentious, good sushi! I had the chirashi bowl which had generous portions of fish (on par with Fremont bowl or Musashi's). Also tried their takoyaki which was slightly undercooked inside but crispy and nice on the outside. I also didn't find any tako in there so that was a bit of a mystery but I'll be sticking with their sushi offerings in the future so I'm not worried about it. ALSO THEY HAVE PARKING! So that's a bonus for sure on the Hill.
Stopped in for a few rolls on a Friday night. We had tuna, yellow tail, and salmon. The fish was excellent and the service was great. Will be stopping in again.
Got the bento box which was tasty. Service was not great. We waited 15 min to get acknowledged and given water then another 15 for the check after emptying our plates. Possible they were just understaffed
Laid back, a wide array of tasty dishes and fish, very reasonable prices, great for a little lunch while you are out and about! There is also a patio for your outdoor dinning needs.
Everything here is amazing from the service to the food!
Delicious food at a reasonable price and great service.
Look at this behemoth Bento Box (See Pic.)! $30 for this huge 1ft. x 1 ft. plate. Salad and cup of miso on the side! Fresh fish & overall outstanding sushi rolls make this box Grade A. Came with 3 different sauces too! What a huge dinner for this price in Seattle. Heck, you can feed a family of 2 with it.
Great atmosphere & cleanliness throughout the restaurant. I ordered to go (not prior), and staff brought the food to me outside of the establishment. 5★ Customer Service.
Karage & Tempura were awesome. The crunch to it was spot on. 5★ Bento Box and customer service. A must visit if you're in the Capitol Hill area.
Best family Japanese restaurant in town. Order straight from the store for fastest delivery time and freshest food. The have a parking lot as well.
Great local neighborhood place. Also wouldn’t be a bad plce to drive to if you aren’t close! Great fish!
Delicious sushi!!! They have a wide and tasty sake collection. Very kind staff and service
This restaurant was great. The food was fresh and the green tea was the best I've had. I thought it was odd that someone mentioned the music was good but it really was great music!
The tempura batter was too thick and greasy. The agedashi tofu was firm instead of silken. The maki rolls were alright.
Good ambience and service but it is not exactly Japanese. It is fusion with Chinese and Korean items. Our nigiri was fresh but the rice was too soggy.
Everything was so good and delicious, excellent customer service
Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Trying the sushi next time but everything else is good.
Great food, especially the desserts which are amazing. The ambience is also wonderful, with lovely decor and tinted windows that leave it feeling very cozy inside.
Good decent food place. Service was amazing. Newly opened, they have good lunch options. Bento box was really good.
Sushi was great. The mackerel and albacore nigiri was especially good: very rich and tender.
Everything was great and the waitress was so nice! Highly recommend this place.
Good sushi, good price, the chefs are always very friendly. Glad there is a sushi spot in walking distance, that is a huge plus.
Fresh sashimi selection, delicious sushi, great drinks and great service! What else can you ask for?! #supportlocalbusinesses ❤🥰😘 …
Sushi was amazing. Gyoza was amazing. Service was amazing. We will for sure be back!
A great experience, loved the patio and the tempura!
Sushi was great, served quickly, and was gifted a free dessert!
Love the vibes, food and service! Parking lot is a huge plus. A hidden gem in the area.
This is some of the BEST sushi in town!!
The owners are great people too!
Pretty good sushi with affordable prices and nice atmosphere. Service was only okay.
Awesome sushi with friendly staff. I go here regularly and I have never had a bad experience
So glad they survived the pandemic downturn. Fresh and delicious sushi and a lovely outdoor patio.
friendly staff, good service, good value
The staff is very nice and enjoy serving drinks, sushi, and sides.
Great portion, if you want fusion you've got it but a more authentic dish you will find it here as well.
good sushi, service, and miso soup
Very good sushi. Takoyaki and calamari are fantastic. Very hoppy to have in the neighborhood.
Food was delicious as staff was extremely friendly!! Will definitely be coming back!
Good selection of food. Nice staff with good customer service. Food is tasty.
Great sushi and food, welcoming people there.
I had the mackerel lunch and it was delicious. We were the only table so the service was fast.
Very underated sushi place, always quality food.
Had a really wonderful birthday dinner here on the patio - thank you!
