Reviews of Mecca Cafe
David Sterne
Very cool little diner with a grunge rock flare and a great breakfast menu. I loved the atmosphere, from the layout, to the pinball machine in the corner, to the checkered tile, to the concert posters over each table. We were told it had been there since 1929. Very cool.
The food was very good, and reasonably priced (for Seattle). We had the Chicken & Biscuits, and Sausage & Grits. The grits were cheesy and delicious.
The only issue I had with the place was that our waitress/hostess had an attitude with us the minute we walked in. And not just us, but everyone who came in. She came off very negative and agitated. It made for an awkward dining experience.
Other than that, it was a good place.

Food was very good and in a great location. One customer, Del, has his own chair, available to him only 24/7. He has his own special mug and special price of $1. He comes in 2 times a day and has 2 beers and has been doing this for many decades. Check it out, pretty cool story and I'm told he doesn't like to be bothered.

Cute little place that was recommended by our hotel. If not recommended we probably would have kept walking. But so glad we came here. Food was delicious and the staff and service were great as well. My husband had the corned beef hash and loved it! I got the French toast, as recommended, and it was amazing. There sourdough toast was delicious as well.
Like one other person said, my only complaint was the undercooked bacon.
Overall, definitely recommend.

Absolutely my favorite diner/bar. The food is phenomenal and the divey diner atmosphere feels like home. I would go here every day if I could. The chicken fried steak with the chorizo corn gravy is my go-to. Be warned, it is on the spicy side. 10/10 i love this place.

So, I work for a hotel right down the street from this place and have been sending the guests from our hotel here all the time with out ever trying the food. Out of 10 people sent about 8 people come back saying it's absolutely fantastic food with so so customer service. I have eaten there my self during breakfast, lunch and dinner officially. The food here is Fantastic the night time bartender Theodore is super polite attentive and easy going. The waitresses are friendly enough. But really my hat goes off to the guys in the kitchen who really are the main thing keeping this place afloat. Well Theodore of course! But if you get a chance are on vacation grab breakfast here lunch or a late night cocktail I highly recommend it! And if odds are correct the Majority of you reading this will feel the same.

Waitress was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious (especially french toast). Only problem was the table size. A little too small for complete comfort. But would definitely come back with less stuff (umbrellas, backpack, jackets)

Got an order of breakfast and an order of chicken strips.
Breakfast was BLAND. Like thank the lawd for salt and pepper.
The bartender wasn’t particularly friendly but she was good. The clientele was… fun.
But what won me over was the chicken strips. The breading bro!! Delicious and you get hecka fries. So good.

I'm rarely this impressed with a diner. Got the bourbon bacon bleu burger with fries. Our server Nikki was amazing too, staff was friendly and communicated expertly. Most importantly though, the burger was cooked medium as requested, tasted amazing and even the fries were on point. Definitely an A++ diner experience.

This local dive bar was recommended to us by our front desk guys at the hotel. It was just a 5 block walk and it was exactly what we expected. We ordered roast beef, the chili (outstanding), omelets, and coffees. We were starving so the diner food over low light and grungy classic rock was a vibe and hit the spot.
