Reviews of Manolin

I found this amazing restaurant unexpectedly. The service, cocktails, food are all good! The portion is relatively small, so we tried many dishes (10 dishes for 4 people😂). Especially recommend Squid Ink risotto, Pork Belly, Duck Confit, Brazilian cheese bread. For the drinks, I like Hide and Seek, not too sweet, a bit sour, very fresh! They can do some mocktails if requested.

The food is tapas style, suggest to order many dishes and share.
I highly recommend squid ink risotto and Brazilian cheese bread (I don’t have photo….); both are amazingly good!
Drinks are all good and more like fruity. I like them all

Pros: perfect seasoning. Acid appears as a pleasant surprise in almost every dish. Exceptional service. Innovative recipes. Inventive cocktail menu. Delightful outdoor seating. Good use of textures in each dish.
Cons: dishes can be challenging to split more than two ways; parking can be challenging; bathroom is a bit dark.
Pictured: duck confit over mole sauce with pistachios and puffed rice.

I never do 5 stars but I really need to for manolin. Every dish was creative, balanced with some crunch, some acidity, perfect salting and tons of flavors. Every dish had a surprise "I didn't think this and that would go well together.
Based on other reviews the menu changes frequently. The menu goes from small dishes to larger. The cheese bread is small popover. We asked and they made it during dinner- which is amazing since it's so fussy to make. The bread was fluffy, melt in your mouth. The ceviche had a good balance of acid and the corn nuts kept it from being mushy. The albacore dish had 4 perfect cuts of fish with a nice bright sauce. It was quite different from the ceviche. I could taste the mescal in the sauce. The zucchini dish really shined with perfect level of acid + salt. The avocado sauce was a perfect addition. The squid ink rissoto was also perfect. The squid perfectly cooked (not chewy) and risotto as well. One of my favorites of the night. The duck confit was a little charred so the skin was crispy to contrast with the mole sauce. Mole sauce had no chocolate and so was light and flavorful. The chocolate cake dessert was the only disappointment but honestly who needs a dessert after such a feast. The drinks were unique and strong. I loved the roasted banana whiskey.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Would go everyday if I could - hence the 5 star.

Incredible food! We had oysters, squid ink risotto, tuna tartare, and the portobello with the house marg—then the rum spice cake. Everything was superb and like nothing we’ve tasted before. We made a reservation, (which you pay $3 for and are refunded a few days later.) and sat outside in the fully enclosed, cozy patio.
Every server was super helpful and attentive.
Lovely dining experience. We will be back.

The food was amazing, plates were very beautifully prepared but a little small for the price. All in all very nice athmosphere but loud music.

Inspired, world class food. Friendly service. Good value for money. Fresh ingredients. Can taste many different interesting dishes. So clean. I had come here years ago, but they have really stepped up their game. This could be my new go-to restaurant.

I used to love Manolin. I went to dinner there this past Saturday, with a fried, and neither of us had been been there since before the pandemic. The food was still very good, as were the drinks, but the vibe in the restaurant was really weird. First, we had to pay $4 to event make a reservation there, and the money wasn't reimbursed towards our meal. But that's not what this review is about. We were seated at 8. At 9, I looked around and the restaurant was totally empty. My friend had a full drink, and I wanted to order one more so we could have one more drink together. I asked the server if the restaurant was closed and she replied they do their last seating at 9. She said I could have another drink. There was one other table outside. I got another drink, but we felt rushed out of there, and it just didn't have the lively happening vibe the restaurant used to. Disappointing because I really liked this restaurant in the past. But given all the great choices in the area, I don't think I'll go back.

Sometimes you forget about old favorites with so many new spots opening but each time I visit Manolin I'm reminded just how great this place is!
The Rockfish ceviche alone is worth visiting! The seafood is always super fresh and there's plenty of meat and vegetable options as well for a well-rounded meal. The atmosphere is great, inside or out, but I always prefer the outside courtyard/patio as it can be quite warm inside with the wood fire oven.
Oh and on the weekends do NOT miss their bagel pop-up Old Salt. Quite possibly the best bagel I've ever had (sorry, Russ & Daughters!)

The food is amazingly good! I just fell in love with their plantain's chips! The grilled beef was quite expensive but very delicious.
Their drinks have a very complex flavour that will definitely surprise you on your first try.
We also got their desserts: the Horchata cake had a bit too much cinnamon for my taste but the Rice pudding with lemon mousse and shortbread was perfect.
It's an walk-in only place so we couldn't make reservations for a Saturday night. We waited about 45~50min for our table, but we could enjoy the drinks and snacks seated outside.
Service was ok. The waitress looked busy and upset with us somehow. But this place definitely is a worth going!!!

Tried the rockfish and smoked cod small plates and they were excellent! We were so "appetized" by the time the beef arrived that we didn't wake to take a picture. It disappeared quickly and was super tender. Cocktails were great too! Tried the mezcal and tequila based one

Manolin could be one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Seattle but it’s too inconsistent. The concept is great, very imaginative, and I’ve had some really excellent bites, but also some downright bad plates. The smoked fish dip tonight was way too salty, and the the gigantes beans weren’t nearly salty enough. The black cod was divine, and then the mussel toast had all the makings of being A+ if it wasn’t just absolutely doused in vinegar. Like acid dissolving your tongue off vinegar. Someone needs to be tasting these dishes before they go out to customers, it’s so close to great.
Baxter Black
Food was good but cocktails lacked complexity and tasted uninspired. Also the chocolate mousse for dessert was disappointing and felt like the kitchen needed to find a better dessert to pair with the entrees on the menu.
Justin Anderson
One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. Accessible seating at the bar and great for any occasion. The cocktails here and great and are a perfect way to start, especially when combined with the oysters. Must try the seawolf bread appetizer with mussels. Must try the octopus, any which way it is served. Have now tried it Spanish style and Mexican style and honestly can’t decide which preparation is better. They have simply mastered the technique of preparing octopus to keep it tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. The beef is typically on the menu and is always perfectly cooked on the wood fire grill. The kale salad is also great and features a perfect combination of citrus, creaminess, and garlic to make it their rendition of a traditional Caesar. Love this place and will continue to return for more food and drinks!
James Knicely
Food and flavors are top notch, everything we had was delicious and the cocktails are good too. However, what blew me away was the ribs. My expectations weren't low, I expected it to be good but they were incredible; I just moved here from the South so it's not like I am a stranger to ribs either. We ordered them again after eating everything just to try them one more time.

I am a huge fan of Manolin. I have been twice: once with parents and once on a date, and left both times wowed by the food and service here. Would especially recommend the ceviches. The plates are relatively small and expensive, but in my opinion an excellent value for dining out in Seattle.
Max Soi
Exceptional tapas style restaurant with South American inspired dishes and ingredients. Excellent service from very professional and friendly staff. The ambiance and decor were really beautiful. Ceviche is on par with anything in Peru. The steak was seasoned and cooked absolutely perfectly. Somewhat pricey but great place for a special occasion.
Andrew Lee
I have wanted to visit Manolin for a few years now and am really glad I finally did. It’s a little difficult to find parking, but I was eventually able to at 4pm on a Sunday. I believe a lot has been written about the interior of the restaurant, so I’ll be brief. The restaurant has high ceilings and has large openings to the patio and outdoors. The central bar is stunning as well. The waitstaff were all well-trained and treated us very well. When it comes to the food, almost every dish was a highlight. We started with the plantain chips and liked them so much ordered them again to eat with the ceviche. The ceviche was seasoned perfectly and the rockfish was very fresh. The combination of flavors were executed perfectly. The Barron Point and Shigoku oysters were also extremely fresh and flavorful. The iberico lamb ribs were great as well. The meat fell right off the bone and the rub was spicy and balanced well with the naturally gamey lamb. The pozole verde was also a highlight with its green flavors and acidic finish. The overall experience was noteworthy and a wonderful experience. It’s definitely one of the best restaurants in Seattle.
Trevor Park
I was so pleasantly surprised by this little hole in the wall and can't believe I had not come here sooner! Having come here a couple of times since my first visit, their seasonal menu has yet to disappoint.
Regardless of which time of the year you come, their patio is a great spot to wait for a table with some oysters and a cocktail.
Federico Espriu
Great but small menu. All smallish plates for sharing. I enjoy beef and salads. The place get crowded, no reservations allowed so you might need to wait at peak hour. You can wait sipping a drink at the fire on the terrace. Nice staff.
Ian Gorton
Bright space, bright food. South American influenced seafood. Weirdest mussels I've ever had. They were tasty though. Very enjoyable dinner.
Nik Kontrimas
Manikin has no reservations but you can order drinks and wait for the time being. Cocktails are yummy and the food is served tapas style. The food is delicious and reminiscent of central and South American cuisine. Always love coming back and trying the new things on the menu
Grace Gravestock
Super yummy dishes, especially the heirloom tomato salad with cured egg yolk (salty ummami flavor), and restaurant-mafe plantain chips. Surprisingly delectable horchata cake had unique, layered flavors and textures that were light and satisfying.
Charles Vasquez
Overall, it has a great dining atmosphere. You get to wait at a covered area with a fire pit to keep you warm. The servers are very friendly and knowledgeable of their menu. Every dish we ordered from appetizer to the main course were all magnificent. It made the trip from Vancouver, BC worth it. Definitely recommend this place when in Seattle are.
Sophia Field
I fell in love with this place when I first moved here 4 years ago, which was about time when it opened. It’s still such a fun place, lively fun vibe, and great food that won’t make you feel like you need to do 5 hours of extra workouts next day 🤣, one of my fav spots in Seattle! …
Eunice Kwon
Absolutely delicious!! Highly recommend sitting at the bar and watching the talented chefs in action. Cannot wait to go back!
Sakib Elahi
Food here was fantastic. Oyster happy hour 4-5p 50% off, 5-6p 25% off. We got the spring green salad, halibut and bread pudding. Complaints are that it was uncomfortably hot because of no A/C, and the service was unenthusiastic at best.
JenQ Lee
Love their food! Superb! The best meal I had in Seattle. Their place is quite cosy and suitable for casual dining. Definitely worth a try!
Jenny Ma
We ventured in on a snow day and was greeted by super friendly staff and a very rustic and warm decor! Their menu was very short & sweet, with seafood "tapas" style, salads, and meats. We ordered their "must-try" ceviche, yellowfin dish, and grilled beef with chimichurri, with a tasty Hans Gruber cocktail. The flavor combination for both the fish were surprisingly unique, but it worked! I must say I even preferred the yellowfin, which came with a nice blend of nuts and spices in a salsa-esque dish. The highlight of the meal was definitely the beef for me, which came perfectly cooked, moist and tender. The creamy yuca and chimichurri were absolutely perfect pairings. I already want to go back for more!

Manolin is perfect for a date night. Unique menu with fresh seasonal ingredients. 10/10 in my book with the only downside being the lack of beer selection. However, they make up for it with delicious cocktails and Fremont Brewery is a block away if you're craving a brew. Highly Recommend!

Came here with 5 adults.
We ended up ordering the entire FISH, GARDEN, GRILL menu. It was delicious and nice. They brought the dishes to us similar to a multi course meal.
We also had the Horchata cake which tasted nothing like Horchata, but was absolutely delicious.
Great place where the fresh well prepared food.
Claes Mogren
The food was excellent, we really liked all of it. The only minus was that I didn't get the coffee I ordered to the dessert. We will definitely come again.
Kari Copley
Food and service were amazing, which is why I’m giving Manolin a high rating. Word of caution: If you select patio seating and have a party of 2 or less, you will be seated within about two feet of the next table over. My partner and I have been extremely careful with dining out during the pandemic, and within three days of dining here and being seated this close to another party (and one of these patrons coughing and sneezing multiple times without covering her nose and mouth), we had COVID. I would recommend reserving a table for at least three people to get one of their socially-distanced patio tables.
Other than that, the food and service were great. Would love to return during non-pandemic times.
Jake Cohen
We didn't realize the connection to another one of our favorite Seattle restaurants Rupee Bar until after we ate here but they definitely have some common themes. Great cocktails (and I love the graphics on the menu) and an array of delicious food to choose from. The White Center might be my new favorite drink! The ceviche was exactly what I was looking for and the fish tasted very fresh. I think the surprise favorite of the night might have been the Gigante Beans. We sat inside at a high top table but we'll have to come back and sit on the patio because it looked so nice!
Kelsey Burns
Cool atmosphere! You have to pay to make a reservation, but it is refunded a day or two after you visit. I would go again!
Jason Barney
All about the oyster happy hour here. Pretty good deal if you're jonesing for freshly-shucked shellfish. And we loved the plantain chips! The only downside is the limited appetizer and happy hour offerings.
Mark MRB
Honestly one of the best restaurants in the country. Still humble though and though there is a sometimes a wait, it's never that bad. They dont take reservations. Food is amazingly good, every dish. They have a range of food but there is some Peruvian influence on flavors and food but it is distinctly Americana cuisine.
Denise Tanaka
We went there on 2020 and had an ok experience, came back now in 2022 and had totally different experience. Food and service was great. Cocktails amazing. We ordered oysters, halibut and ceviche. Everything we as beautifuly served and fresh. Delicious. Outdoor area was nice on this heatwave. Folks inside were probably suffering because it felt very stuffy while waiting for a table inside.
Paola OC
Amazing food! And great place! Perfect cocktails! Got the oyster happy hour! Amazing!! The albacore ceviche and the mussels just great!
Natalie Chun
This is a great restaurant with high quality ingredients, nicely cooked and where you don't feel they are skimping on quantity or quality to save a couple bucks. The octopus and ceviche were delicious and a good price for what you get. This is definitely a place to go back.
Nancy Stiles
Went with 5 adults and we ordered a lot of the menu items and everything was great.
Jacob Butterfield
Fantastic food and experience. The menu is smaller but has great variety and original dishes. I would recommend this restaurant to locals or tourists. It gets busy in the evening, but smaller groups will easily find a table. Also, it's a little ways I'm from the road, so you may have difficulty seeing it from the road.
Damon OBeirne
Highly recommend this restaurant. Genuinely friendly staff and the most delicious and tasty dishes. We just sat and tried almost everything on the menu. Great evening - shout out to our lovely friendly waitress.
Matt Kozanecke
Hands down one of the best experiences and meals I’ve had in a very long time. The freshness and quality of the food was exceptional. Drinks were a little strong, but welcomed. If I lived in Seattle, I would be a regular here.
Natalie Brown
Consistently great food and service. Happy with the options for non-drinkers and drinkers alike.
Yash Dalal
Delicious food, great seafood selection. Very cool atmosphere as well, worth a visit!
Eric Stobin
some of the best bagels in town. pro tip is to order in advance online and avoid the line. my wife says their bagel and lox sandwich is top notch and always great. lots of outdoor seating to be covid-friendly. highly suggested!
iam Vishal
Ambience, food, drinks, service everything was really amazing. It's a small place, but has unique warmth to it.
Perfect place for a first date
Jeff Smith
Excellent fish-based fare. The ceviche is a must, proper Peruvian with a slightly more acidic kick. Tombo tuna equally good. I’m not much for risotto but the squid ink risotto was crack.
Katie Smith
It was okay. Nothing WOWed me. While the plates and drinks were pretty, their taste didn’t match up - except for the pork shank. Get the pork shank. The atmosphere could have been more fun. The hype of the beach party became a let down upon arrival. What I expected to be a lively unique experience was really just a quiet dinner with decent food. Service was good.
Darren Van Soye
Fabulous tapas and drinks. Beautiful, romantic atmosphere. Great service.
Jon Kimbel
A great dinner spot! The staff is friendly and the food is as varied as it is tasty. We had the albacore, the endive, and the pork ribs. The albacore and endive were good but the ribs were the star of the show - highly recommended!
The cocktails were also good, we had the Million Dollar Baby and really liked it.
Check out the pictures of the place to get an idea of the dress code, if you arrive in a t-shirt you'll probably feel out of place.
Meriah Kulikovskyi
My husband and I were in town for only a day and wanted to have an interesting culinary experience. This was well worth the hype. The dishes were flavorful, unique, and thought provoking, and we enjoyed sampling nearly all of the dishes on the menu. The plates are of course small, but that's just the tapas style of the restaurant. The server was friendly and was clear about the size of the portions and the amount that we should order. I was especially impressed with the seasonal dessert. All around, a lovely experience with a great ambiance. We look back on our time there fondly.
Haleh Nekoorad Long
Very cute and chic ambiance! Friendly staff. I think it's meant to be shared as they bring the food at different times. The kale salad had the best dressing. The black rice had a great texture, crunchy! Cod was o.k. The steak was great.
Ray LaFrance
We enjoyed 4 wonderful entrees, served family-style. The portions were perfect, though if you're a fan of buffets, please stay away. The food is too good for that. Stay at the local trough, please.
The start was a half-dozen sweet and briny oysters. Yum. Then we progressed to black rice with squid, then the halibut, and the mussels, and finished with the zucchini. All were perfectly done and seasoned.
For cocktails, try the Caddyshack.
This was a fun weeknight adventure!
Alexander Olsen
Great service and patio, love the design and feel of the place. Nice cocktails. Unique dishes with lots of fresh fish options. Oysters options were good and 50% off with happy hour! Great spot for pescatarian if that's your diet.
Spencer Judge
Very tasty, unique dishes. Above average cocktails as well, and I mean in comparison to similar restaurants. I would recommend a reservation, there are few tables and they're always packed. The black rice with chorizo was my favorite dish on the menu at the time. Definitely plan on sharing plates.
Amber S.
Went here with a group of friends for dinner. The wait can be long since they don't do reservations, but they have a nice outdoor area with plenty of seating where they serve the bar menu.
The entrees are meant to be shared. For a group of 3 we had 3 plates, but we should have ordered a 4th. We all enjoyed every plate. I especially liked the squid.
Service was remarkably quick. Seating is both inside at small tables and extends outside to a covered patio with a fire pit. Tables vary between normal height and bar-top height.
Laura Bensona
Party of 7 ate here on a Sunday night. Food and service were excellent. Interesting dishes with unique taste combinations and everything worked. Great wine list by the glass and by the bottle - not a huge wine list, but wines from all over the world to suit your preference. The after dinner drink list also impressive. If you are a whiskey drinker, you will be impressed with their list! Recommendations from our visit: Smoked salmon, heirloom tomato salad, ceviche, grilled beef with chimichurri.
Landon Lee
Absolutely love this place. Got an off the street recommendation to try it and got some directions. Pork ribs so good that you could cut it with a spoon. Excellent use of spices that accentuate flavor and don't "just make it spicy". The drinks were solid and everything was fresh and diligently applied. My new go to eatery/drinkery for Seattle.
Xavier Martinez
Despite the small portions and a trendy vibe that I nomally don't gravitate towards, I found the food to be very top notch, and wish I could afford eating here all the time.
Kevin Toghia
Awesome vibe. Awesome food. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Their oysters are very fresh and delicious. My friend and I were able to grab a spot right at the bar and the staff were bouncing off recommendations. It is always nice to go to a restaurant where the workers actually like the food.
Andy Galbraith
Incredible little restaurant. The space is beautiful and the staff is incredibly friendly. Every drink we had was excellent- well balanced and refreshing across the board. The grilled beef and banana pudding were unreal, but all the food was great. Lots of outdoor space too, which should be nice in the summer.
Laura Haas
Great small plates; we had oysters, beautifully fresh, both kinds of ceviche, octopus, pork. Wonderful flavors, each dish sharable (5 dishes plus oysters for the 4 of us worked nicely). The wine list is short but international and good choices. A little loud, but the place was packed. Prompt and friendly service.
Bonnie Campbell
Stopped in alone for happy hour and a bite to eat. Had the happy hour wine and was delicious, and the black rice with squid which was awesome - full of flavour with some crunchy bits. Service was awesome, was completely comfortable being by myself. 100% would recommend.
Neil Kanungo
Not gonna lie... Heard a lot of hype about this place and thought it may be overrated... It really wasn't. The treviso and pear was an amazing dish, the pork ribs were cooked perfect, and the oysters were delicious and good quality. The service was great as well, and always appreciate servers that actually understand the menu and how the food is made. The atmosphere is chill but the place is a little small. Really busy on weekends and probably not great for groups of 4+
Paulina Jahja
Amazing bagels and great service! We loved the everything bagel with smoked fish spread. Ask for it toasted if you love it crispy!
Billy
A very solid dining experience. The limited menu left me wanting more, only because what I had was so good. I was surprised that “no” was the answer to the question about substitutions due to dietary restrictions, especially at a place as well-rated as this and in a city like Seattle. Yet, we still managed our way through a nice and surprisingly pricey meal. The service is friendly and helpful, even without the possibility of substitutions. Go for the halibut, the ceviche and the pork ribs.
The Boom Bapp
Totally A+, Food was amazing, atmosphere was relaxed and chill. I sat at the bar as I am traveling for work. The bartender Patrick was knowledgeable and able to tell me the difference in the oysters, as I am an east coast girl, and found them to be the freshest I have ever had. He also took time all though very busy to talk and make me feel comfortable in a city I had not been to since a little girl. Thank you for the experience and I recommend anyone in the area to experience it as well.
Annette de Soto
Love, love, love the food here. Every time I go, I try to order some combination of foods I normally don't order and I am always thrilled. They do a superb job of balancing flavors and textures while highlighting each ingredient's best qualities. The service can be mixed. Some servers are great and some indifferent but that seems to be Seattle service these days.
Matt Clifton
Stopped by here after it was recommended by our host on a vacation to Seattle years back. Since moving have wanted to go back! Had an amazing experience the first time sitting outdoors by a fire pit. Haven’t been back since the menu has changed but would love to go back again!
Dirk Devlin
An Amazing dinning experience. The kitchen is front and center. A joy to watch the staff. Our meal was as much a visual treat as a taste sensation. Small but exciting plates that don't leave you wanting. But leave room for the deserts. A full service bar, you can't go wrong.
Nayem Chowdhury
Great rockfish ceviche, fried queso fresco and grilled beef. The grill is mesmerising!
Luis Cardona
Excellent Peruvian ceviche. Their traditional ceviche, the tuna dish, and the endive salad were all fantastic.
Sofia Jukelson
Simple and friendly restaurant with very sophisticated and tasty tapas sized food. Incredible value for the money. From a perspective of a European, having lived in the US for over a year (and travelled around a bunch) this was one of the best food experiences in the country. Cocktails are at par with the food!
Kevin Huang
Small plates to share. Good atmosphere and great for dates. Not too loud so it is good for conversation.
There was a bit of a wait even on a rainy saturday but we just grabbed a drink and hung out at the patio which was heated.
Food was great and had fun combinations. Alcohol variety is good too.
You can watch the chefs make all the food and drinks in the middle.
Victor Donovic
Really enjoyed the meal. Creative dishes with a chef that knows how to match different ingredients to produce great flavour. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was my pet hate with one dish. The menu didn't mention it had garlic and it was very garlicky. Would come again
Dior Ella
Was here last year. Food was great except for the black rice dish which was undercooked!
Dustin D Clark
Get the oysters. Get the grilled beef. Thank me later. This is the best food I've had in town (so far). My bar is insanely high for meat too (because Texas), so don't take my beef recommendation lightly. I called ahead and they said is was kid friendly, but it really wasn't...around dinner anyways (yup, we were those parents). Great date night spot though.
Logan Shelagowski
We shared 3 entrees between two people, All of them were fantastic! We were both very impressed with the quality and presentation of the dishes. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures to show. I would recommend Manolin to anyone looking for great sea food!
Stephanie Grimm
Love the heated outdoor seating area. Expect to wait 45-60 minutes on a weekend night--no reservations accepted. Our group of 3 ordered 6 plates and the fried plantains. 5/6 dishes were excellent, especially the "Garden" plates. The grilled papaya was surprisingly disappointing.
Luis Soto
By far one of my top 5 favorite meals I had in the USA. The food, the service, the ambiance were all perfect! We had the Pork Roast, the Albacore, the Grilled Octopus and the Pineapple dessert. They were all 5 stars and cooked to perfection with amazing taste. The texture, the explosive flavors in your mouth are top notch! I will recommend this restaurant to any locals or any visitors to the Seattle area like myself. I travel 4 days of the week for work and this is at the top of my list for best places to eat anywhere in this beautiful country. Praise to Kevin, the bartender, for his EXTRAODINARY service and attentiveness! He should get more than 5 stars but google only allows 5. Claps for Manolin!
Aga K
I have been here a few years ago and glad to come back. I ordered their mussels, assuming they'd be in some sort of Britt wine sauce. To my surprise they come on a thick slice of bread in this delicious thick sauce. At first I didn't know what to think, but they're probably the best mussels I've ever had.
Thomas Pierce
This was pretty good! Loved the black rice and squid as well as the rockfish ceviche. I would avoid the pork ribs, they just were a bit weak and didn't have a lot of meat on them. Not super tender either. Also the endive salad was fantastic.finished with the horchata cake, which was very tasty. A little pricy for what you get, bit nice for a bit of a treat, I think!
James Wright
Manolin, officially the best restaurant I've had thus far in Seattle. I like that they don't take reservations so it's a first come, first served basis, and the fact that their prices aren't astronomically high is a good thing. This is a small plate restaurant so expect to order at least 2-3 dishes per person and I would highly recommend sharing so you can try everything.
I will say their plating was great, especially the tea poached squid. That was our first dish and it was absolutely a gorgeous plate. In addition to the squid, we had the grilled steak, ceviche, arctic char, and grilled halibut. My favorite dish of the night was probably the halibut just because I'm a huge sucker for truffle oil (who isn't!) and the least favorite was probably the steak (not to say it wasn't good) but I was hoping the lardo would add more zing other than extra fat. The ceviche could have had a bit more spice but still a very good dish. Their menu is small and if you have 3-4 people you could definitely hit up the entire menu.
In addition to busting out good dishes that are well plated, well seasoned, well cooked, their kitchen was good in getting out dishes in a timely manner. The wait staff was attentive without being intrusive, and the cocktails were stiff. All in all, this was a good experience and something that I've been looking for, for far too long. Highly recommend this place.
Joel Morris
Food was outstanding. The rockfish ceviche rivals that of Harry's Fine Foods. However... Service was not so great. Server never made eye contact and seemed distracted. Our drinks came out 2 courses in with no acknowledgement that that probably was not a good thing. Experience was just kind of "cold" and "unwelcoming.". That being said, I'll probably go back to see if they were just having a bad night. Restaurant work can be rough. :-)
Janna Rome
Portions were very small. The oysters we're outstanding but the pozole and the mussels were trying to be innovative but the flavors and textures were weird. Not really good value. I won't be going back.
jason pham
Quintessential Seattle restaurant, taking the best ingredients available during the season and highlighting the flavors. Affordable dishes at good portion size so able to try a lot of things without breaking the bank. Great places for a date, though no reservations.
Audrey L
Loved the creativity of the food and the ambiance!
Ordered the Rockfish Ceviche, which was really delicious. Only 1-2 pieces tasted a bit fishy to me. It would have been nice if the dish came with more chips (maybe lotus root chips or tortilla chips) to pair with the ceviche. I also got the Spanish octopus (fried), which was very unique. The texture was a bit meaty to me though, and I had expected it to be more tender. My favorite part was the sweet potato chips!

This is a special place... one of the best meals I've ever had. The flavor combinations were creative and rich, yet perfectly balanced. Each dish was a small journey of flavors. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly, and the textures were varied. Rockfish ceviche, smoked salmon, halibut collar, black rice, horchata cake.
Steve Jarrett
Extraordinary rich and diverse flavors, fresh seafood, and authentic and friendly service. Great music. Superb mixed drinks. Cool industrial space with some outdoor seating. One of the best meals I have eaten this year.
Linda M. Bagley
I thoroughly enjoy dining at manolin and try to always set to the right next to the prep cook area so I can watch everything that they put in and on the dishes. I enjoy every bite and am fascinated at the chefs creativity. Service is fabulous and I rarely ever have to wait for table for two. Absolutely love dining here.
Shannon (16Volt)
It's difficult to describe this place. The ambiance is really cool (old school locals will recognize it vaguely as a den of villainy and debauchery).
Before you get too far, this is a small plate place. Keep in mind though the price does not match the portions. Not even remotely. If that's not a big deal then rock on and warm up your credit card.
The vibe is meh, if you've seen one of these places you really have seen them all. The service when we were there was a bit overwhelmed but did a great job, it was truly a mad house and they were running flat out.
The food.....for what it was, it was interesting. I suppose if your morning coffee order has more than three criteria you would love the 'fusion'. If you fall on the normal 'i dont care what you call it, how does it taste' spectrum then again, interesting. Honestly my favorite dish was the plantain chips.
The cocktails were really the stars of the show here. Excellent and unlike the rest priced at about average.
Pat Arena
One of the best meals we had in Seattle…definitely recommend the Brazilian cheese bread (basically their version of pão de queijo) and the squid ink risotto!
Nathan Parry
5 star service, 5 star environment, 5 star prices, 5 star food! Given there are no reservations you should expect a wait during weekend hours. They provide a menu and drinks to you while you wait which was very nice. The food and service were spectacular, everything on the menu changes with the season, including cocktails. They have a wood fire stove (mmm) and we were even comped a free dessert without asking. Recommend to anyone :)
Mark Compton
Great neighborhood spot away from the pricey and corporate downtown food scene. A great example of how if you're from out of town and willing to do a little research, you will find some of the best seafood anywhere in the city of Seattle. Tapas style portions that are perfect for sharing.
Ben Jah
Been a great experience each time I've went on dates. Might want to make a reservation in the colder days of the year, you wait in the outside area for a seat inside, and while they have a firepit thingy, it's still a bit chilly. That's the worst part about this place, and it's because this place is crowded, and for good reason. New food experiences can be found here, and they're delicious. Bring your wallet for this one, it's worth it though.
Jeremy Anderson
Creative menu and marvelous service in a comfortable modern space.
Ron Lee
Lets start with the food - very flavorful. Let's continue with the staff - very attentive. And then the design - very attractive and comfortable. Plus the atmosphere - very fun. I'll be back when it warms up to sit outside, maybe by the fire and enjoy it all over again.
Mini Rouge
It was okay. The serving sizes are not very large. The salmon my husband ordered was about an inch wide with some white sauce and that was it for like twenty dollars. My mussels on bread was ok. It was a pice of bread with mussels and cheese on top. Also, the food is brought out as it is made, meaning one person's did might get cold if they wait for everyone's meal. The server explained to is that it is meant to be a communal experience, so as the food comes out, everyone can eat a little of each. That would work if the sizes were sharable. The food was okay, but it was not worth the price for us.
Mike Kelley
I really loved the food, the crew and especially the chef. I thought the chef was brilliant. Anyway, I'm kind of picky, but dang.... The food here, really tickled my fancy!
Kevin Chung
I really enjoyed my dinner here. The place had a charming atmosphere, and the food was very tasty and fresh. I really enjoyed the ceviche and the mussels! We also got dessert: Pumpkin semifreddo, meringue, burrata, and basil. Super interesting, super tasty.
Sabrin Rammell
The food was alright. They try some weird combinations, that I don't think go very well together. Small dishes, so you want to order a few. The setting is very nice, and what I think attracts the crowd
James Low
The food was heavenly, especially the pork belly, which just melts in your mouth. Other standouts include both rockfish and albacore ceviche, the black rice, the grilled beef and the smoked salmon. Service was quick and attentive throughout the meal. I am definitely returning to this restaurant in the future.
Jacob Jimenez
This place has flavors I never knew existed!
Jonathan Seidel
Amazing, simply amazing! Beautiful well presented dished bursting with creativity and flavor. Loved the rockfish ceviche, smoked salmon, beef, papaya, and the squid rice! Great, friendly service and unique drink options as well. Thanks for the fun night!
Brian Webber
Amazing menu that changes with the seasons. Perfectly cooked sharable plates. Definitely look forward to bringing friends here that are from out of town and are looking for a real Seattle food experience. Good date spot too!
Sally Kentch
Excellent margarita, friendly, gracious staff, delicious food.
Aaron Kleyla
I'm not sure I have the words to properly describe this experience but I will try. This place is open and clean with an excellent mix of white, wood, and pops of color here and there. The wood fire gives just the right smell of smoke and bbq. Food options vary and come in what I would call shareable plates. For this trip, there were 3 of us. We each selected 2 dishes, so 6 dishes total. These ranged from cold salads, ceviche, to perfectly seared beef tenderloin. Our salads were amazingly crisp and tart. The ceviche was so fresh with tender fish. Our beef, that was cooked over a wood fire on a grate similar to those found in Argentina, was perfectly medium rare with a beef lard spread.
If ever back in Seattle, this will be on my list again. Cheers to the staff on a top notch restaurant with excellent food, spot on service, and warm hospitality.
Stephanie
Had some lox bagel sandwiches at sea salt at manolin. They were great! The outdoor seating is so nice on a sunny day.
Cameron Lowell
This might be my favorite "New American" restaurant in Seattle. They really nail it with the texture of their foods - crunchy and chewy in almost every dish. Portions are small but not horrible. They generally seem to specialize in ceviche dishes. Staff is always very friendly and attentive. One request is to bring back the squid ceviche dish that you had a while back, the new black squid in rice dish just isn't the same.
No reservations accepted though - plan to show up early and grab a cocktail
Chris Garrity
Im lucky enough to have a friend suggest i try out this place. Being in school, money is tight, so you'd more likely find me frequenting a greasy burger joint. However, I was told that i HAD to experience what Manolin had to offer. Words can not describe the experience of tasting what each dish had to offer. It was less eating, more tasting/experience. All of the dishes were delicious but the Rockfish Ceviche and Kale salad were two of my top picks. The atmosphere and service were also excellent. Definitely one of my most iconic experiences from my visit to Seattle.
Harrison Shapley
Wow. Some of the best food I've tasted in my life. Well worth the high sticker price. Great service too. A memorable experience, I will definitely be back soon!
Joe Chandler
Great atmosphere and very friendly staff, especially the bartender Tyler. The food was different than we are use to, my wife didn't expect her fish to be raw but after she was able to try another dish (papaya salad) she loved it.
Eric Thompson
Some of the best happy hour food in Seattle. The mixed drinks are also fantastic! The bar tender and the manager make up custom recipes so are new drinks to try. Best to visit in the summer with the outside seating.
Morgan S
Damned delicious, nice atmosphere. Even the overly complicated craft cocktail won me over. I recommend going with friends and ordering for the table--plates are small and prices are not.
Lyne Otto
No reservations, ate at bar. Service prompt and super friendly. Shared the Rockfish Ceviche, Black Rice with Squid, Pork Belly, and the Kale and Pepper plate. All were VERY GOOD! Tying for most FABULOUS was the ceviche, and the black rice with squid! OUTSTANDING!
Deserts...not so much, just saying.
Server extremely knowledgeable on food and wine. I'll be back!!!
Hattie Yang
This place serves amazing food but they're a bit overpriced and the service is kind of awkward - if there's 6+ open tables and they don't take reservations, you should be able to sit at one of the tables if you're waiting on your party and if you've bought a drink. I sat on these chairs by the hostess stand and felt like I was constantly in the way
Laura Clark
Food, service and atmosphere were outstanding. We really enjoyed our meal.
Shaun Kelley
4 of us went here and it was a long wait, but totally worth it. Once we got our food, which wasn't long after we ordered, the wait was totally forgotten. Everything we ordered was excellent. Get one of the ceviches and the beef for sure.
Christian Bergh
The oysters are amazing, but it wasn't great for the group of 6 people I was with. The portions are too small and too expensive to share with that many people. This would be great for a date, but not for a group.
Matt Mead
I want to like this place way more than I did and I'm not sure exactly what was missing but I will go back and figure it out. The steak however is amazing. The other dishes didn't really do it for me. The staff here are great though
Steve Ottenad
Ceviche and cocktails are wonderful. Great outdoor space. No reservations though so prepare to wait, though killing time around the fire pit outside is a good way to pass the time while waoting
Jessica Lah
Manolin's New American restaurant is above the rest in Seattle. The restaurant is bustling, loud, and always exciting. The service and staff is wonderful and often entertaining to watch. They unapologetically play eclectic music that you love and love to hate. The cocktails treat you as right as the service, and the food dishes is inventive and creative. One of the top restaurants on my list in Seattle. Plan to make reservations or arrive 45 min in advance, including on a weekday. Parking is really just on the street, so give an extra 10 min if you're driving.
NP
Small menu, but big flavors!!!
Andrew Geilfuss
Amazing service, serious cocktail talent, and fresh coastal flavors that match the singular ambiance perfectly. Ian Fleming and Hemingway would have dined here often, as coastal austerity is warmed by the open wood-burning grill, like a campfire on a tropical beach.
Fred M. Rhoades
Delicious but we ordered a bit too much. The black rice (with squid, sqiud ink-soaked arborio rice & black trumpet mushrooms was superb. Went niceky with the hamma hamma oysters.
Jessica Turner
Fantastic tapas style plates. Ceviche and the black rice are my favorites. Cocktails are great too. Cute outdoor patio as well
David Troyer
Easily top ten all time meals for me. The food was extremely tasty, well presented, well portioned and well priced. Staff was friendly and attentive and the food came out quickly despite an almost full house.
Graydon Loar
Small, unique plates. Priced appropriately. Clean venue with a friendly staff. Manolin checks all the stereotypical Seattle boxes. Great for a date or small group outing.
matteo visentin
Interesting happy hour food in a chill out ambiance. We had Black rice, squid, chorizo and black trumpet with the Tuscan kale, sunchoke, dill pickle, cotija. Both excellent!
Katrina Lee
Do NOT miss the drink The Grocery List! AMAZING! Just enough spice, and still refreshing! Food was delicious too... but this drink has actually brought us back multiple times!
Arlen Pringle
Cocktails are amazing, AMAZIIIING. Wait staff is kind, quick, and genuine. I’ve had great conversations with multiple staff. Food is also solid.
alice bennett
Great place for meat lovers. As a vegetarian it is hard to find a dish, but everyone else at my table had a great time. The ambience and style of the place is very nice, classy yet not overly fancy
Mark Bezemer
Excellent food and good service.
Yen Duong
They have happy hour from 4-6 where you can get 2 dollars off their ceviche, which is awesome there! They have the albacore and rockfish ceviche, both which are heavenly. Also, you can get $2 off well drinks during happy hour as well.
Jesse Yang
Amazing food and great atmosphere
Jenny Miller
Tastiest fare I've had in a while. My friends and I sampled each others cocktails, entrées and desserts and all of it was delicious. I highly recommend checking it out.
Hilary Grumman
I have finally found a new favorite restaurant and watering hole in our everchanging city!
After years of working in the neighborhood, hearing about Manolin, and frequently even recommending it to out-of-towners, it took me until the other week to make my way into this Fremont hideaway. Since then, I have been a second time and can say with confidence these are bar none the finest dishes, cocktails, and service I have experienced since Art of the Table closed its old doors on 39th St.
To anyone looking for a bright, fresh, flavorful, well-curated, and creatively presented Northwest menu in a space resonating with old Seattle charm, carry yourself to the fireside patio or alluring interior of Manolin.
With a bit of luck, I'll be there sipping a cocktail and enjoying those incredible muscles on Sea Wolf sourdough, perfect ceviche, or albacore on a pool of wonderfully light mole. Cheers to the little wonders of life!
Kelcey Nicholas
The food was very good, however, our waiter was a little rude which would keep me from going back.
Elliot Mork
Probably the best meal I've had in a very long time. Take the bartender drink recommendations, then know what they are doing. Loved my visit here.
Ryan Sagare
Amazing food with a great vibe! I loved the atmosphere and the open kitchen setting is always an added bonus for me! I'll be back fo sure!!!!
Christine Forbes
Great vibe, patio space available on a hot day. Great service. Great food, ingredients speak for themselves, presebtation beautiful & (more) importantly great beer on tap.
Kiymbah Tytania
Love the atmosphere, smells very fresh, food is delicious, staff is great... I would give it 5 stars, except the portions are very small and I have often had to wait a long time for a table, more than 30mins.
Megan F
Killer Latin fusion small plates. The ceviche is awesome, if you like bourbon the squeaky wheel is to die for. Usually pretty crowded so plan on a wait.
Kelly Tygert
Love! Love! Love! This restraunt! Everything is good. Sitting at the counter to watch the action is my favorite. The cocktails are great. Food is fresh and different.
Wendy Golenbock
I wish I could give it a 10 !!! best meal ever...pork was so good ...kale salad yum
...my family loved the posole soup and the tuna and the scallops ...we all loved the waitress too !!! four tired happy people!!! so good
Febry F
Really good place to have dinner. Really cool and warm inside, with open kitchen and delicious foods. The taste reminds me of Peruvian cuisine.
Michael DeMaria
WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL restaurant. Amazing food, great drinks, incredible staff.
Astra Elane (The Gods Themselves)
Very distinct menu options. Everything was pretty good. The squid ink rice was exceptional. Would have liked more variety.
Nathan Vee
This is the best restaurant in Seattle. If you’re lucky enough to score some of their choice swag the owner might even pick up your tab at the hardware store. Thanks Joe!
Subigya Shakya (suBi)
Cool place. Simple but good food.
Moriah Love
The smoked salmon is like buttah! Melt in your mouth decadence! The posole soup...posole was way undercooked, but I definitely recommend the place overall.
Al Zurmuhlen
Small plates served in a timely manner in a clean atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Food has been great the two times I've ate here.
Leigh Bulwell
Amazing. The food and ambiance is best for a pleasant get together with buddies, or for a date. It's a little highly-priced, however well worth it!
CK Calabeza
My wife and I had an amazing time here. El Niño was incredible as well as the food. Worth the hour drive. Thanks for the experience guys!
Amy Gregory
The steak is AMAZING Every. SINGLE. Time!! Some of the other dishes are hit and miss, have the house smoked Salmon, skip the black cod.
Kevin V
Small plates, delicious smoked salmon, refined libations selection, and atmosphere is fused perfectly with the bakery next door.
Andrew Murphy
One of our favorite go-to places in the neighborhood.

Tucked away off of Stone street, it was a little difficult to find! Their small plates are very small. Their food was really good, but quite pricey!
Tanya Hayes
Loved the vibe. Great food. But you might still be hungry even after a few plates of food. Or that could just be me.
Jonah Samost
Bagel was good. “Smoked fish” is a bit of a misnomer, as the spread is very much lacking in that regard
Josh Payne
