Reviews of Lunchbox Lab Burgers, Shakes and Bar
Kevin Chen
5-star service, but meh burger. The waiter was extremely nice and helpful. Got the tear jerker and was disappointed. The bun was dry and the meat was under seasoned. The recess shake was good though! Come for the tots, shake, and service.
Stanley L
Nice burger with great portion.
The Kobe beef patty is pretty flavorful but a bit dry, I do not like the Truffle Mayo’s flavor a lot but maybe would try the mustard sauce next time.
The portion of the veggies are pretty great.
The cucumber, onion and mushrooms are the highlights of the burger.
The tots as side is also pretty good.
Overall, still a recommended place for a quick bite for lunch!
Claudia C
Nice place, staff was great. Food was yummy and drinks were great. Good selection of food. I will be back.
Aja Westergreen
Had a lot of fun customizing meals, the waitress and staff were prompt and friendly despite being under staffed. Good food and great staff.

It was not busy when we went (5:22 pm on Monday,) there was one other human inside and three tables outside occupied (presumably also by humans.) It was 15 minutes before we saw a server and placed our order. That wasn’t a big deal, everywhere is short staffed. It was a bit frustrating that our appetizer came out at the exact same time as our entrees. The food was ok. Nothing was wrong particularly, but nothing was spectacular either. To be completely honest I prefer Red Robin’s burgers. The decor was fun, and you’re paying for the kitsch. We had an order of fried pickles, an Oreo shake, and two vegan (not kobe) burgers for $60. I’ve had amazing vegetarian / vegan burgers, these were not. Very dry, I wanted to ask for more of the sauce but no one returned to our table until it was time for the check. Again, not terrible or inedible just… ok.

Really enjoyed getting a burger & fries, got the fried pickles & a signature cocktail. Had a really nice meal & drink with a friend. It was a great place, good company & food on a perfect evening. Would highly recommend this place for others to check out.

Service was slow and it took about 30minutes to have our order taken and then another 30 to get our food. The menu has a large selection which I appreciate and everything i've tried has been decent -- nothing exceptional though. The only critique I have is that the fries are awesome but you only get served 4-5 fries as a side which is a little unheard of.

Excited I was able to finally try this place! Got the Nutella shake and added the whipped cream vodka and it was AMAZING! Started with the fried picked and got the Mercian burger with tater tots as the entree, my one caveat would be it was not cooked medium rare like I ordered but was still delicious. Service was great and timely. Little pricey overall very good and would recommend 😊
Melissa Miles
Excellent little buried treasure in the heart of Seattle. Great menu with fun dishes and desserts, served by gracious and friendly staff. Family friendly with a twist for grown-ups. Loved it!
Chris Johnston
Cool vibe and service! Burgers were so-so and the tots were highly salted. Menu seemed varied, but at the end of the day all the patty’s were a touch dry.
Sheila Becerro
Food not bad but service to be improved. Sides quite expensive
Armin Rad
Our Uber driver introduced us this place and it was absolutely GOOOOD!! Everything was so fresh, the food was tasty and the side were all yummy. Besides their burger, we also ordered Cod fish burger which was even better than regular burgers they had. The brussel sprouts were sooooooooo good and I never imagined it could be that delicious.
This is definitely going to be a 5-star if you like burger and regular American fast food.
Abhijat Saraswat
Delicious, funky food.
This place has some cool items on the menu as well as "experiments" on their special menu.
The portions were generous and the servers were polite and offered some great recommendations.
Definitely recommend checking this place out if you want a unique twist to the familiar.
Nicholas Gangloff
Zane was a excellent waiter and very attentive. The burgers are unique, in a very good way. The happy hour food is a tad small in terms of portion, but still a decent size. Overall, glad I stopped by, will likely come back again.
Albert D Treiber
Had the James West Burger: Asked for Med Rare Pink & received a semi well done hockey puck. Garlic Fries Ruled!!! Wouldn’t go back
James WA
Super good shakes. I wasn't hungry enough to order food, but the burgers looked amazing. I'll have to come back here next time I'm in Seattle. The patio on the afternoon is relaxing. The trees and shade is nice. They are open for covid. Dine In if you feel like staying or takeout if you want.

So I picked the place based on the reviews... Over 1500 with a ratings average of 4.2... I should have known it was a bad sign when I went in at 12:30 on a Tuesday and the restaurant was near empty. The restaurant was clean and the staff nice... Ordered a mango shake a West burger and fries... Second bad sign was the waitress never asked how I wanted my burger... I hopped up and asked if I could get it rare and was told yes... Lo and behold out comes my well done burger....which would have been fine if you said I couldn't pick. But don't let me pick rare then incinerate the thing...... That cook fell asleep.. he's lucky he didnt burn his face on the grill while he napped .. the flavor of the burger was otherwise good.
The shake was also ok.. but nothing to write home about.. I don't think I would but it again for the price.. it lacked a strong flavor.....
Overall 3 out of 5 stars... Not terrible but I've had much much better. It was ok ..

Super fun place to eat. Has a great selection of Kobe beef Burgers and shakes from Umpqua Dairy. A highlight is all of the assorted salts. Bacon salt, garlic salt' Rosemary salt Etc. Easy parking. Knowledgeable staff. Fun decor your eyes are very entertained while eating. Food was great I had fish and chips and there was actually a lot of fish and a little bit of breading which made it great. Hubby had a burger that was seriously 4" high had to deconstruct to eat it. He loved it! I had a mint chocolate shake absolutely delicious. I would recommend going there for lunch. A bit pricey. Not your fast food burget for sure while in Seattle.
Dawn P
It was a 23 minute walk from the museum of pop culture but so worth it. We all tried different things, the only miss was the veggie burger. The milk shakes, tots, cheese curds and the other food we got were great. The Staff was friendly.
Matt Kelly-Montresor
Amazing food, drinks and staff. They hosted a corporate event for us and everyone loved it. Will be returning here for future events.
Traci B
A fun place.service was friendly and bartender had a good sense of humor. There are some really creative tastes and flavors, and seasonings on the table to add to your liking. The meals are very filling. My only problem was getting a rare burger when I asked for it to be burnt 3 times over. Lost my appetite upon that red mess.
Matt Perrone
Lunchbox Lab is a neat decent sized burger place, with a full bar and shakes, all with an interesting take. They have a killer happy hour, only $5 per item, and Mondays are all day happy hour. The service is always awesome, the staff here is very nice and they have strong pours for their alcoholic drinks. Definitely would recommend coming here for either lunch or dinner during the week.
Astha Arora
Love the burgers at lunch box, actually I found that lunch box burgers are much better than 8oz burger , they were having more flavors than 8 oz burgers .. I found 8oz burger were little costly but lunch box you will get your burger with one choice ( fries or torts ) we order two burger so with one burgers we order torts and with another burger we ordered fries yum yum
Justin Derevyanik
We found it on Groupon the reviews were good oh my God some of the best food we have had in Seattle. The hamburger Was Juicy loaded with extras and it also came with your choice of fries or tater tots which is a homerun. We had fried pickles as an appetizer and a few of their specialty drinks that came in scientific glasses which were out of this world highly recommend this place we are from New York so if we like it you'll like it come one come all
Kian N.
Definitely a great place with quality food. So delicious and unique to the place all the foods. Will go back again.
Michelle Weiler
If you're visiting the REI Flagship store and you get a hankering for a burger or shake, I recommend a visit to the Lunchbox Laboratory. Our burgers and shakes were super yummy! Burgers came with a pickle and side of tater tots. Talk about nostalgia! The kids' Mac n cheese is no Kraft. It's the real deal. The ambiance was pretty cool, too. Lots of nostalgic feelings eating burgers and drinking shakes while surrounded by classic metal lunchboxes.

I'd heard of this place before and decided to stop in while in town for Seafair.
It wasn't busy for lunch on a Saturday, but I'm sure it gets busy at night. Great place to take the family, or after work.
The menu could be a little overwhelming for the indecisive. I got the cod sandwich, which was probably the best one I'd ever eaten. The best tartar, too. For my fries, I did the rosemary and cinna spice, which I also highly recommend, and you can thank me later.
Adam H
Super friendly (and sometimes unattentive staff). Good food, yet not the same Lunchbox laboratory I remembered.
I recommend the Dork (Duck and Pork) meat. It is very different and very delicious!
Dustin Hand
Delicious make your own burgers. The grilled cheese buns are AMAZING! I came here on a Huskied football Saturday and it wasn't super busy. The server Erin is very friendly by helping guide us to what would be good on the burgers - there is something for everyone here! Vegetarian patties and options are available.
I got the dork which is duck and pork mixed. It was a nice tender pattie though the duck only seems to have any taste if there isn't the overpowering billionaire sauce. I recommend skipping that sauce and enjoy the flavors they put as the spice mixture.
The atmosphere is a tad noisy but the funkiness is cool. Cocktails are served in beakers as a tip to the laboratory type feel.
This would be absolutely perfect to see on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives! Theres variety with the hand made and very unique ideas for well flavored food with high quality ingredients. They have extremely creative names so even ordering is fun! The time it took to make was a little on the long side since everything is made from scratch but it is totally worth the wait. Prices are a bit high but it is a great treat. Tip - Don't pay extra to get the garlic fries or tots, just use the various salts (including garlic salt) on the regular fries/tots. It'll save $2.
Enjoy!!

Honestly one of the best burgers I've had, like wow super flavorful and good sized. I don't think I would recommend the garlic version of any of the sides unless you really enjoy garlic, it was a little much for me but that's a nitpicky thing. The atmosphere is very cool and kid friendly. Also their shakes are delicious.
majisha n.p
It was a little busy when we went in around 7.30pm on a Friday, but we didn't have to wait much to get seated. Tried the Reeses peanut butter shake, it was pretty good! The burgers here have always been awesome!
Alexis Anello
Mac and Caesar - tasty little dish.
Beer was cold - tvs to watch football.
Kids eat free on wednesdays 5pm - close
All around a good place to eat.
Mason Ogden
Great burgers, great shakes. Tear Jerker is the best by far. Outside seating is quite nice, right by the park with a firepit.
Outstanding service too.
A L
Food was good, but I was shocked by how long it took to come out on an afternoon that wasn't very busy. Waited about an hour for two burgers with fries.
Stacy Jaramillo
Not your ordinary burgers (but they have those too). YUMMY! You must try the fried cheese curds and don't forget about the delicious shakes (I loved the strawberry). As for the burgers, the psych...something with mushrooms was fantastic. We will be back soon!!!
Thank you for a great lunch, your experiments are a success.

Didn’t take many photos bc my phone died, but LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Highly Recommend!! Always delicious food, no matter what you get. Service is normally great, have never had horrible service, just at times it’s so so. My husband absolutely loves this place (and he’s PICKY)!!!
Tiffany Chou
Honestly, this was a pretty damn good vegan burger I got. We got to sit outside on a nice evening, and the hostess was very kind to us. However, the wait staff was incredibly slow and it felt like we were forgotten as we sat outside. It took a very long time for someone to get our orders. At the end of the meal, one of us had gotten a shake to go, and we ended up waiting 15 minutes for it, only to finally go in and as for the shake ourselves again (I don't know it they remembered it?). Like I said, the burger was great. The service could have been better.
Nem Kashanian
What a great set of milk shakes. I would go back every day if I could. Amazing menu with great options of every kind. You have to go and try it.
Kristie Drawe
Great burgers- truffle sauce was awesome. Great beers on tap and awesome service.
We enjoyed the burger and it was easy to share with Tots. I wish the tots where fuller and more plump though!
Our server was attentive and and checked on us a couple of times before we ordered drinks while waiting for a friend. I think service was slow in general due to the nature of the location and volume but nonetheless it was great when we needed something.
Parking is free after 6, other wise street parking up to 10 hours available near by.
Timothy Anderson
Some lunchbox happy hour mini burgers and tots. Convenient 9 till close happy hour. Shakes are huge here, haven't had one but any of them look great.
Eric Cline
Food was descent, but overpriced for what it was. Imagine Carls Jr, but with “fancier” words in the descriptions and a booze menu. I had a burger that, had I not known where I was, I would have guessed was a Western Bacon Cheeseburger. But it was $16.
Tibor Tomecko (ReOrder)
Really good burgers. Great prices and very appreciative staff. Overall amazing place to get a burger with friends or family;) if we ever come to Seattle again we will come here for sure.
Paul Jarolimek
Place has a wonderful atmosphere, great staff and truly creative and delicious burgers. Really neat find in downtown Seattle
Update. Still great!
Thrax Kylo
Look i live down the street have been here ab 6 times. This is the most inconsistent restaurant in the world when u sit down inside the food is cooked and prepared great ! When u order takeout it’s disgusting and sloppily prepared! I don’t know what to rate this at this point
Aaron Tucker
I went with a friend before a concert in the area. The prices are fair for the quality and amount of food you get. I had a milkshake that was amazing. My friend had a boozy milkshake he said was awesome as well.
I had a burger that was really good. The service was a weeeee bit slow, but the quality of the food and drinks made up for it. Next time I have a show to go to close by I'd totally eat here again. It was clean and the staff were very friendly.
Tim Weiner
Great service and overall environment, both inside and out. Will definitely come here this summer to watch a local sports game or to enjoy the patio. They have an easy take-out process which is great because I live nearby. In terms of food, the apps are great (we had the buffalo rollups). The burger was dressed up nicely, but the burger patty tasted like it was previously frozen. A little spendy for the quality of the burger, but still good overall.
Gregory Stanek
Fantastic lunch option for vegans and vegetarians looking for a burger fix! There were many meat options for those so inclined, but I was happy to see such a cornucopia of offerings for those veg restricted. We started out with the Buffalo cauliflower wings-a must have for heat seekers. We paired that with a local craft brew and Impossible custom burger. Prefer Beyond parties? They have those too! The service was warm and inviting. We will definitely stop again!
Madison Ickes
Delicious! We had the best service, as visitors we were unsure of what to try and he gave helpful advice and options. The burgers were tasty and clearly high quality. We managed to find parking fairly easily as well. All in all a wonderful dinner.
Adrian Roselli
Themed restaurant with selection of milkshakes and burgers. The garlic tots were garlicky, which is generally good but bad right before a client meeting.
max khan
Great niche spot for lunch goers or burger heads. The shakes are well talked about but unfortunately didn't have the room to order one today. However I was feeling a bit like a fish n chips kinda day but I love a great fish burger with coleslaw. And let me tell you you the panko crusted cod burger from lunchbox labs didn't disappoint, it was a unique twist from the batteries fried fish burgers usually all of us are having. The tots are a bit tooo salty for me this couldve been a 5 star review but when I had went to pick up my order the server had no interest in greeting me or welcoming me to lunchbox labs asking me what I wanted. In addition the burger did not stay together well. Will be back for the shakes thoo improve that customer service and im sure you will get very close to a 5 star review.
Filip Tuhy
Beyond meatless burger was great, with mushrooms and black garlic truffle mayo. Shake was pretty good too.
Lynn B
My son loved the Burlington location and wanted to show me downtown Seattle. The rags used to wipe down the table leave a lingering stale smell that didn't go away. Beverages took forever. The food presentation was great but the burger was dry and overdone. For $16 I guess I expect to be wowed.
Tatiana Rosado
Found good pork rinds here! They also have hot Rishi tea which was perfect to warm up and excellent customer service.
Heidi North
Unbelievable burgers, and the Mac cheese sauce on the tots is worth the drive alone!! Will definitely be back!
David Caldwell
Great burgers and food overall. Mint Shake was pretty bland, but the chocolate was decent.
Fun experience, sat outside with no issues.
Marko Misiura
Amazing place for the burgers. All of the employees are nice and very energetic. I will definitely stop by again!!
James Dicarlo
If I could give 10 stars I would.. First time here and I can't wait to go back next time we visit Seattle. They were very busy and very short staffed, yet did a better job at managing it all than most fully staffed restaurants do! We were seated quickly, drinks brought and order taken right away. Food was served pretty quick for the circumstances and best part was the staff had a great attitude through all the chaos. They checked on us often and were very polite and courteous. The food was so unbelievably delicious and full of flavor that we almost came back for our next meal just to try other stuff that we didn't try this time. The perfect burger and fry flavor combo!! Cheese curds I could have eaten my body weight in!! Absolutely can't wait to go back! Meant to take photos but couldn't resist digging in to eat right when the food was set down!
Aimee Casselberry
The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and the shakes are super good! I will definitely be back!
Brian Holland
Food tasted great! Service was good, although they did not check in after the meal was served nor did they ask of we needed refills on any of our beverages. Also, the food looks giant in the menu pictures but is only average sized in reality. Loved the options for sides such as tots, garlic fries, and Mac fries!
Radhika Kulkarni
I visited this place for fulfilling after lunch sweet craving. I did not have time to wait and have the milkshake and so I ordered Oreo shake to go. Though the taste was good, I found it to be a heavy calorie food.
Atari Betamax
Aside from the TV blasting the sad after-game commentary on a list football game my visit was great.
Eventually someone turned on music and the mood lightened considerably.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Booth was clean.
The portions were perfect. I left satisfied and but not overfull. It was a refreshing experience at a burger restaurant.
I will definitely return.
Tim Mead
Absolutely an amazing experience. Great food, great atmosphere, and a very friendly and helpful staff. Couldn't be more pleased.
Ben 10
The fried cheese curds were awesome, but I Loved the Psychedelectable that Black Truffle Mayo!!! Yumm 🤯 …
Joseph Wilhelmi
Great burgers. And a lot of other fun things on the menu. Great service.
Mackenzie Brisben
Super delicious burger and chicken tendies.
Katia Ortiz
Nice place, nice staff and delicious food! I went for the "Build Your Own" Burger and was satisfied, they have various vegan options including a hamburger sauce; the artichokes are to die for. Our waitress was super nice, I will definitely come back.
Stacy Hillard
The veggie burger, black bean pattie with tater tots was really good. I wanted to pay homage to the Deluxe - next time
Rhiannan Garcia
Ordered the Shroom and Truffle Shuffle burger along with the Root Beer Barrel cocktail. The truffle mayo was good but the burger patty could have used better seasoning. The cocktail was great for a dessert drink. My partner had the Bison burger which was mostly heat and again, lacking flavor. Better than fast food, but wouldn't add it to my top 5 for burger spots in Seattle. Great place for boozy milkshakes though.
kai kai
i’m only giving 3 stars for service and the atmosphere, other than that the burger i got tasted like something out of burger king and the bacon wasn’t cooked to a crisp, i swear the chicken strips were seasoned with taco seasoning and you would get a weird kick of spice from no where. the ranch was just weird man, overhyped and overpriced. it gave school lunch
Hope Mead
Absolutely amazing food and service everytime we have been. The food is a little on pricey especially for a burger, but bite the bullet and go. It is so worth it. My only complaint is that we don't have 1 more local.
Narine Harut
Unique decor, cozy atmosphere, especially on a patio around fire pit, but I my burger was greasy, same thing with mac and cheese, but if you like greasy food this is your place.
Daniel Gonzalez
Food was pretty good just wish with the meat was a little thicker. I'd go back to try other burgers.
Nahu Dimitri
Finished my CodFather Burger in less than 2 minutes :) service was good, staff were friendly. Prices are fair for the location
Chennan Mao
Food was good. Nothing too special but if you have a burger craving, this place will do the deed.
Abhishek Dan
The choices of burgers were limited. I enjoyed the milk shake. Overall good value for money.
Andi Hendricks
Oh Lunchbox Laboratory, how do I love thee? Is it the boozy milkshakes or the borderline overwhelming assortment of fried and comfort foods? Let's face it.. it's all those reasons and a beaker of Tang.
All that aside, this is one of my favorite places to go when visiting Seattle. My inner fat kid loves the fried pickles, cheese curds and tater tot nachos. The mac and cheese is fantastic. The drunken elvis and cinnamon toast crunk boozy milkshakes are amazeballs.
The service has always been excellent and the restaurant clean. I love the beakers for the drinks and the mini fry baskets for the fried nibbles. Overall a fantastic place to get your less healthy grub on.. even better when you're with good friends.
I will be back!
Launi Harrell
The meat in this burger transcends all other beef I've ever had. Highly recommend.
Ellis Mann
Not enough food for the price. I barely got any fries!! The service is very good, frequent drink refills. I would recommend the smoker burger and cheese curds.
Larry Arreguin
Great place for a burger and drink on the fly. The server was very attentive and made the stay pleasant. Would encourage you to stop in!
Joe Reyes
Went there because a coworker had a Groupon expiring that day but was surprised that the food was good quality and the staff was attentive and friendly. Will definitely go again when in the mood for burger and a coke!
Donnie Kicklighter
Lunchbox Lab had been hyped up to me for a long time, and they lived up to it. The drunken Elvis milkshake tasted like banana pudding and the brussel sprouts were delicious!
Anthony Harding
Vegetarian-friendly (offers Impossible and Beyond)! Burgers and tots have been consistently excellent. Kind, friendly, and efficient service. The outdoor dining area is awesome on a summer day! (Had great conversations with strangers in that fireplace table.) What more can one ask for?
AT F
So we called in an order 15 mins before they closed and they were super polite. Our order was done to perfection with no mishaps. The meat was slightly undercooked but it was good. The wings were plain with no flavor and the hot sauce wasn't so tasty. The cold slaw wasn't tasty either oh did I mention it’s pricey but with takeout beer that topped off the 5 stars.
Jeesoo Yoon
They have a good burger. This location is a bit more upscale than the Lunchbox Labs I'm used to, and the prices were a bit steeper too, but the food quality was nicer and their pickle was really amazing. Although the server was really kind and sociable, I prefer the more casual, metal-tray atmosphere of the Redmond location.
Spidey __
Absolutely amazing food! Recommend the poutine and the burgers! Had a fantastic Koolaid margarita as well! Super cool atmosphere and waiters!
Sreecharan Sankaranarayanan
Pricey but definitely above average taste. Got the BYOBurger option with a vegan bean patty. Black bean patties are sometimes all mush but this one was good. A little stingy with the sauce - got the habanero mayo. They have some eclectic toppings too like Bahn Mi Veggies living up to the “Lab” part of their name. Stopped by the place on a quest to try all of the fast food in SLU/Cap Hill. Not sure yet if I’ll be back. Still smarting a bit at the price.
jay gnar
Service was subpar, took longer than it should to be seated for how empty the place was on a Sunday evening. My table hadn't been wiped down yet. The Mac Daddy Merican was good but too much bread. Asked for medium rare and got well. I'd still give them a second chance.
ferial mhr
The service was so good, the waiter was super friendly, food was 4 of 5 , big meal , mac and cheese was so good
Paul Inverso
Thd food was good. The service was ok. It would have been great, if she would have checked in once. It wasn't busy.
Guru pragaash
Tried their lamb burger and blueberry pancake shake. They were pretty good. I liked the sauce in the burger.
Robert Schuppert-McDonald
I got a build your own burger with chicken breast. They allow one topping and one sauce as no charge add-on.The grilled onions were a good choice and loved that they had tater-tots as an option for fries. On the other hand to offer a choice of sauce like they are giving you added value was ridiculous. I would had appreciated there being sauce, lettuce, and tomato automatically served on the sandwich. Bottom line, the way it was expedited didn't justify the price nor was it the bomb chicken sandwich. My husband got the lettuce wrap beef burger and said it was very good. Though it's messy so expect to eat with a knife and fork. The small outside patio had a bar like seating area with a gas fire to keep you warm. Parking is on the street, but not expensive.
Brittanii Prahl
Excellent shakes and they have boozy options for them as well. They have some of the best cheese curds I have had the pleasure of consuming here in Seattle. The mac and cheese is incredible and there's options to add in things like bacon, mushrooms, or jalapenos. I'm a fan of the caesar and Mac combo meal. This is also a good spot for inexpensive draft beers that you can enjoy on their patio.
Julián González
I’ve gone to this place multiple times and first of all the food is absolutely amazing. Anything you order.
I’ve had the occasion or two in which customer service hasn’t been great or took too long to order and another while to bring the food
Michael Luong
The burger, tater tots and pork rinds were great. They are more expensive but the quality of the food justifies the cost.
Gabriel Westergreen
Amazing food and willing to do anything you want to try food wise of course ☺️
Jasmine Marie
Great food at an amazing price! I went in as a group of 10, not many other customers there. It took forever to order and no one really came over to check if we were ready to order. Food came in a decent amount of time given our group size, but the check still took a long time to come ever thought we all looked ready to go.
Tl;dr: food was amazing and I'll go there again, but the service was a little lacking
David Betz-Zall
Their burgers and shakes are dangerously good. A bit pricey, but very high quality ingredients, and the lunchbox atmosphere, while not as strong as it used to be, is lovely.
Susan Howat
Needed a snack and made it to happy hour. Can’t really go wrong with their $5 menu.
John McInerney
Great food even better service. Great place for a work lunch
Dustin Brown
Amazing shakes! Our wait times were long but that may be atypical. Burgers were charred to a crisp... all 5 of them. If this is fine with you, then you would rate 5 stars. I prefer fresh meat cooked to order for my burgers. So in my book, these are 3 star burgers. No shame though. Try it out! Also staff were excellent.
Steve M
Had the place to ourselves. The waiter hustled all the same. My Kobe burger with a lettuce wrap was great and those tater tots didn't hurt any. My husband's chicken breast sandwich was on the small side with an equally small bun. He was surprised lettuce & tomato didn't automatically come with a 'build your own' option. Definitely a nice place all the same.
Nicholas Berggren
I like that I'm greeted at the door less than a minute. One heck of a tequila sunrise I admit. Accurate portions. Fresh ingredients. Clean restaurant. They are a great staff. Thank you I am glad I tried your restaurant. I'll be coming back.

Nice place, good service, good burgers. I'm just more into classic burgers, so the there was no much to choose from, but it was pretty good.
Josh B
Pretty good burgers but overall a little overpriced for what you get. I think this place would benefit from offering customized dipping sauces for their fries as they already have a bunch of various flavor salts. Their fries seem boring and would probably benefit from custom fries that help distinguish them from other burger joints. Those two additions would take this place to the next level and the value of the food would feel increased without really changing too much. Overall a decent place with good burgers.
Gina Rivera
Really great service, amazing food. Only gave 4 stars because they didn't have all the flavors listed on their online menu for shakes. Definitely a nice restraunt. A must try if your in the Seattle area. Great burgers.
Franc
Great customer service and food! I got the "Cluck Norris"
Chicken breast, Swiss, avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion, and buttermilk ranch.
Leslie Koury
Lunchbox is my favorite burger place around Bellevue. The food is always great, and the shakes are delicious! I almost always get the classic American burger and tater tots, but the macaroni and cheese and appetizers are all good, too! I've never had a poor experience here. The service is usually good. Tonight my waitress forgot the drink I ordered, and the food came out so quickly that I told her to just not worry about the drink. She apologized and comped my shake for me, which was unexpected and so sweet of her! That's the kind of service that will keep me coming back for sure. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the mood for a burger!
Sue Cantrell
Food was great. Service was a bit slow considering there were only four tables seated. Biggest drawback is parking (or lack,).
Mark Baker
Took advantage of the happy hour food specials. Burger and a shake. Burger was the I GOT SEOUL, and Shake was a hand spun vanilla. Both were excellent. The included fries were a bit hard and chewy, but tasty. Service was excellent, and atmosphere was pleasant. 5 STARS.
Anthony Monteforte
The tots were great. Buffalo cauliflower was alright, if I got it again I would ask for the blue cheese on the side as there was quite a lot. The service was pretty slow and it took a while to get the staffs attention despite it not being that crowded.
Ned
If you’re looking for a place to go after your kickball game with your teammates and have a beer and fries, this is a pretty good place, but other than that, they’ve gone downhill in the last few years. The burgers used to be really good, and now they’re just plain and not good. They re-designed their interior to make it a much less comfortable and inviting place-they used to have great booths and old lunchbox pales around, now they have tall tables for two that are way too small for two people and very uncomfortable. Too bad.. this place used to be fun to go to, now I will definitely never go there again :(
T H
It was OK. My food could have been hotter.
Paul Banda
The perfect night for dining outdoors! I ordered the "Bahn, James Bahn" which was good *but* a little light on the spicy zest from a traditional Bahn Mi. Would recommend chilies and carrot pickled in a sweet rice vinegar. The pork duck blend was tasty but a bit dry and flat; not sure what could be done to make it more appealing, but over all it was fine. My friend had the mushroom and onion burger which looked amazing, he loved it. Tots were perfectly cooked and had just enough salt - together with the jalapeño ranch they were fantastic.
Also got the basalmic roasted sprouts, which were excellent. A bit big and softer than I'm used to, but tasted lovely.
The shakes - cinnamon toast crunk - were the stars of the show and worth savoring slowly. As by that time we were both very full. Thank you!

We live around the corner and eat here regularly. The food is great and the servers are friendly. They have great creations on their menu, and if you'd prefer something just the way you want it they offer a build-your-own burger with a ton of options. They have great appetizer and side options too like fried cheese curds and tots.
They are gluten-free friendly, though my tolerance for gluten can handle cross contamination. They have been easy going about answering my questions in the past but since everyone's tolerance is different you may want to discuss your needs with them.
The diner has a nostalgia theme to it, decorated with a ton of unique lunchboxes. The atmosphere is just about fun, nostalgia and having a good time. They have a lot of great, creative, "grown-up" shakes, and they make virgin versions for kids or adults not looking for Alcohol. Overall it's just a really fun place to eat.
Jessica Burich
Great food, fun atmosphere. Good drinks. Reasonable pricing
Kate C
Good burgers!!! Fried pickles were to breaded, heavily fried and pickles were bread and butter so they weren't good at all. But the atmosphere is great, the services was good, and the main courses were yummy. They are pricey. One burger, drink, appetizer and tip was $52.
Erik Flannagan
This place is delicious. Great burger combinations and very interesting style of burgers. Such as a burger that is half duck and half pork which they call a dork. Lol. You can choose one of their house burger combinations or make your own from which meat to the garnishes to the condiments. Service very friendly. Place is very clean. Kind of looks high end from outside but very affordable. Oh, and try a shake. I am not huge on milkshakes but I had 2 their. 😁😁😁
Cody Shaw
I've been here 2 times since moving. Both times the service has been less than desirable. The first time I went by myself not realizing this is more of a social place to eat versus a place you can comfortably sit alone for a sec before work to enjoy some good food. I don't think they liked that I was by myself either. Second time I went with a date and it made for an embarrassing reccomendation on my part as not only was the waiter somewhat rude, but messed up two of our orders. The food we did receive was colder than I would have expected for the steep price on their menu. With all things considered, the food is great if it is warm enough but I wouldn't go back.
Also this location isn't in the safest of places. Both times that I went there was very suspicious activity around when trying to walk here.
Matthew Jo
this was good, but zippy’s giant burgers were better; the rei and proximity to the city were pluses though and the aesthetic was nostalgic
Jackie Curry
I love their burgers and shakes. Lots of toppings and flavor options for both. The sides look really good (my sister liked them) but most are not celiac friendly. The side salad was great. The service is OK but more than once I've had to remind the server that we had ordered something because it wasn't being brought out. Worth going back
Jade Gillies
Really good food and I would recommend. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because my wife's burger was undercooked. They did take it off our bill since she only had a bite or two.
Julie Mithen-Ghan
Yummy burger with mushrooms! Came with tater tots and a pickle. But not sure $18 was worth it. Although it was with wagu beef and gluten free bun. Service was good and had a comfy booth with interesting flavored salts. Glad I tried it, found easy Street parking.
TJ Doran
Great food, great staff and amazing milkshakes!
Konrad Cook
Trendy burger joint, burger was worth the money. Tots were not very warm, but had some pretty good dipping sauce. It's definitely worth a try.
Patrick Fay
Good burgers. A little overboard on all the creations, but it is a laboratory, right? I had to dock them a star for taking away their skinny cut fries. That's a damn shame right there. The service is decent. I did scratch my head at a recent visit as I was trying to enter the door with my wife and infant and a staff member took my opening of the door as a means to blow past me to serve food out on the patio. If, and I don't suggest any staff do such things, you're going to do that, acknowledge the guest that you've just blown by in some fashion. I didn't like it. Always great non alcoholic choices.
sahana v
Good burger joint. Lot of choices and options. Has vegetarian bean pattis which is better than lot more places. The uniqueness is that it has bigger patties size than the bun itself. As usual burger is difficult to eat without spills this makes it even more difficult. Has option for outside seating when weather is good. Not a lot choices for drinks/shakes though.
Heather C
Food is delicious! I've been twice and the burgers and mac-covered fries were great. The only drawback is service. The staff is friendly, but in no hurry. It took us 10 minutes to be seen in an near-empty restaurant, then another 10-15 minutes for drinks both times we went. The food is the star, while the experience is not.
Jeff An
I got the Burger of the Gods. Buns were nice and toasted, but the patty was cooked well done even though it was advertised as Kobe beef. The goat cheese was also very overpowering at times. It would be better if they added less goat cheese and spread it thinner to allow the actual meat's flavor to shine through. Fries were decently done and crispy.
Torin Komaroff
Amazing food quality and selection! Fast and friendly service!
Sebastian
We love this place! Great burgers, outstanding shakes! You can customize and mix shake flavors to your liking. Yumm! Our most recent visit was for a child's birthday party upstairs in the rumpus room. What a great spot for a party! Multiple TVs, board games, a pool table, free arcade games, a private bar and plenty of seating. What else do you need?
Miso Beno
The burgers are usually cooked a little on the well well well done side but the fries and bar fare are extra tasty. If they could shore up the speed of their food service they'd be a solid four stars for lunch and five for happy hour drinks and bites. However, getting food has been consistently slow regardless of how busy the restaurant seems. In contrast to the food service, the drink service has always been prompt and the staff has always been friendly and courteous.
If the SLU Lunchbox Lab is in your lunch or happy hour snack plans be sure to budget a little extra time so you aren't late to your next meeting or event. It can be a bit rough having to jog with a belly full of food and booze because a one hour lunch turned into two because it took longer than expected to get a burger and fries.
Laurel Taubel
Went there for dinner once and was quite surprised at how expensive it was. The food was good, but cost way too much. However, we went back for their happy hour... they have a limited menu for $5 per item, and this was a fantastic deal. Again, the food was really good. Will definitely be taking advantage of their happy hour again.
A. N.
Good place to watch a game and eat. Was out in Seattle area visiting my son who is stationed in Washington and he took me here to watch football and break bread. Service was good and staff was courteous & friendly. Would recommend for a casual place. Enjoyed the fish and chips.
Ninad Ligade
Had a burger at this place, it was not bad.
Ms Shweta p
We love eating here! The burgers are humongous and at-least 1100 calories each, so if you're looking for a balanced diet not a place for you. But they're so worth the calories if you're looking for a really cheesy meaty burger! We typically do a build your own burger with lab onions, truffle mayo with onion rings or tots. Their shakes are pretty pretty ridiculous as well. Happy binging!
Marjie Volk
This is my favorite American food place in the city. I always go for the Buffalo chicken roll ups! We love them so much, sometimes we get two orders 😅 I also love their fun rotating "experiments" menu …
Anderson Fam
It is the time of COVID so I want to always be kind! The food was wonderful, however I felt like the place in general could use just a little TLC. Maybe it was due to all of the roped off areas? Our server was extremely kind and my kids had a wonderful time!
Sarah DeMuro
Tried this place before heading to the airport. We let our waitress Sky know we were in a hurry and she was awesome. She quickly got us our delicious burgers and check so we were right out the door when we were done. I would definitely like to go back and try some of the other burgers and not rush myself next time.
Jacob de Ru
Always a favorite place, servers were seriously fast, food was incredible. Unfortunately the price for 2 burgers, 1 appetizer, and 1 drink was $50+. I guess you gotta pay for perfection, even at a burger joint. I'll definitely keep coming for special occasions though, maybe once a year.
Marc Grennan
It was okay. I think they should toast the buns to keep the juices and sauces from making a huge soggy mess. Also ate their fried cheese curds and they tasted terrible, not fresh. Maybe frozen fresh.
Kade
Can get expensive, but very good. They go heavy on the garlic
L R
Great food and better service! And I love that they have a posted sign about service dogs, things like that make it that much easier for those who need them!
Chris C
The bad....Had us wait to be seated in a near empty restaurant. The burger wasn't that great and the fries were over salted. The good...The waitress was great and it looks like a good place to come sit at the bar and have a beer. Wouldn't bother for eating though.
Vikki Ikki
I was excited to try this place when they first opened, years ago. Now it seems like the wait staff does not care too much about cleaning(a lot of dust and a dirty table) and it took about 20+ minutes to get our burgers during a slow time, with only two other tables, one of which was done eating a long time ago.
And the cook brought it, after the waiter disappeared after giving me am incredibly watered down iced tea. I'm glad I used a Groupon but he clearly treated us worse than the one other table ordering and I suspect it was because of the coupon.
The burgers were a little cold but good and it's a cute idea but it's a really inhospitable place. I don't recommend it, no matter how hard the cook tried to compensate for the rude waiter.
Justin Time
Nice waiter. I’m not much for wet bread, I wanted to hate it but it was good.
Austin Byron
I've been to the lunchbox in bellevue and left with the same opinion as when I ate there. The burgers are solid, and tasty. Appetizers are also very good, but the fact remains that this place is over rated for the price they charge for their burgers. A 15-17 dollar burger better knock my socks off. This didn't do it.
Not very much seating for large groups during the lunch rush. Make reservations or get there early.
Jonnathan J Rodriguez
Went here for a recommendation from “a local”, she recommended the boozie shakes. So we went there, I got the Smoked, it was good but nothing impressive. But I am going to agree that the Vegan burger was way better than I expected. Now the shake, I think it was disappointing, I mean the actual shake was good but they did not mix the alcohol, they gave us the shots on a side (what?) and didn’t know what that was I had to ask because no one explained anything. And I think is pricey for what it was, 2 burgers and 1 boozie shake (2 shots) was $55 ... I do not think it was worthy.
Dean Bonnell
I have been here a dozen times and nearly always get seated and served right away, unless it's a busy Saturday night. The burgers, drinks and milk-shakes with unique and tasty ingredients are definitely worth a taste. The upstairs game area is a nice touch.
Jeff James
Tasty jalapeno burger with extra spicy red sauce! Friendly servers and good service. Outside seating options include six seats around a fire pit.
Mikelle Andersen
This is was a little pricey but you are in Seattle. We didn’t leave frustrated that we had paid so much ($7 for the reg size shake) because it was good! Good thin patty, cheese curds were excellent and great service.
Bobby Salinas
Great low key place to meet up friends or come have coffee/brunch/breakfast/lunch. I've stopped here a few times for coffee and quick pick me up dessert, always hit the spot. I went for breakfast once and I don't think I was too crazy about it, just your average breakfast. However, I do love coming here for coffee/dessert and sitting on their patio when the weather is nice.
Billy Miller
Food was super good with friendly staff.
Rob Pollard
Happy hour prices make it worth it. Nothing special about the burgers or fries. It's not bad, just nothing get. Definitely don't think it's worth regular hour prices. Staff is really friendly.
Gordon Duzhou
There is space to eat outside under the shade on nice sunny afternoons and a spacious interior. They primarily focus on burgers. The burgers are well made and delicious and will leave you very satisfied for a good price!
Christopher Crammond
Classic Americana Diner food of burgers, fries, and shakes that is presented in a polished package. While there are non-beef options, I've just stuck with the various burger entries and have been happy with them. As for the French fry option I personally enjoy the sweet potato fries and my girlfriend is a fan of the tater tots. And although it's decadent, getting a very large chocolate or vanilla milkshake is quite satisfying, though I'd make an effort to hit the gym in the next day or two.
Stoyan Iordanov
The vegan options - impossible burger and a dairy-free chocolate shake - were great and delicious. The shake is heavy and super sweet, so you'll definitely want to think twice about ordering that with a big meal like burger. I'll be back 😊 …
brian baum
Burgers and fries were absolutely amazing even with it being taken to go and not fresh to the table. Paul W. made us become return customers everytime we come back in town. He was awesome!! If you see this thank you again Paul.
Jess Mooney
Fun place. I think the best part about it is that you can build what could probably be the most fantastic burger any which way you want it, including with grilled cheese buns. This place is great hangover food and they have boozy shakes! The staff is about as fun as the menu which is saying a lot.
Squid Tips
An OK burger place. Their specialties are a revolving Mac and Cheese flavor (Than can sometimes be pretty wacky) and decent shakes. I'd compare it to a pumped-up Red Robin. Burgers are kinda greasy and expensive, but mostly tasty.
Bobby Ball
Their burgers are really great. Juicy and well-cooked. Nice selection of sides and shakes (boozy or not). Overall, one of the better burgers in Seattle.
Tyler Lund
A really cool place decorated with old school lunch boxes and lab equipment. The milk shakes are awesome, I had the thin mint and it was a decadent experirnce. The burger was pretty good, though the toppings were really the star. The meat was good, but not the most delicious I've ever had. The bacon and swiss was great though. Service was pretty good. I was seated quickly and checked up on several times.
Greg Gobat
This place is tucked away on a corner in South Lake Union and is actually pretty good. Their menu is creative and fun, and they even have boozie shakes (which are good, but so sugary it's almost hard to get down). The different sides are all delicious, and the atmosphere is unique. Worth stopping by. The one tip I'd have is don't bother trying to order your burger to a specific temperature. They say they'll do it, but everything comes out well done. I should have asked for it still bleeding, maybe then it would come mid rare.
Sara Manning
We have been patrons since this restaurants inception. This restaurant always pushes the bar and introduces new and exciting Menu items! I do miss the original restaurant in Ballard but alway leave satisfied and continue to come back. My husband continues to order the Hothead burger, even though it’s not on the menu, the staff make it perfect every time to his satisfaction. My girls (7y/o and 9y/o) are fans of the tots and milkshakes.
michael brooks
Good place when you're craving a burger.
They have plenty of good food options but primarily this is a creative and thoughtful burger place. Great shakes. Nice patio out front which is good since inside can get a little loud.
I had the Dork and it was delectable, pork and duck patty mmmmmm. Side Caesar nothing special but good. My boyfriend had the Dick's classic which was a pretty good spin on a Seattle classic. The fries are nothing special but a standard compliment to the burgers.
Shelby Wolf
I enjoyed the drinks here and it's a fun environment but there was a woman working there who told us not to move tables even though we got permission from our waiter because a few more people joined our group. That was rude, but our waiter was nice and made good conversation and had a good attitude during the night. There is street parking near by it is pretty easy to find. It is worth going back to in the future.
Gouri Deshpande
Friendly staff, great place, amazing shakes (can also spike them with alcohol) but quite expensive
Nicholas G
Best dang burgers in the world. I love this place and visit it weekly. You need to try the Burger of the Gods. You will not regret it. If I could give this place 10 stars I would, I love it that much. Not to mention they have the most amazing staff and decor around. Love it here!
Zack Rock
The burger here was great! People come here for the milkshakes. I liked the tribute to the structure of a big mac but restaurant quality bun and toppings! Definitely better than your average pub food!
Robert Standley
I have been satisfied with the selections that I have made at the South Lake Union location
Julia
I've been to Lunchbox Labs a few times on the east side (Bellevue location). But my work had a company event at this location after work one Friday. Service included unlimited drinks (including the spiked milkshakes) as well as catered food.
Drinks were good. Food was meh, comparable to the other Lunchbox Labs but unfortunately most of the slider sized burgers were cold like they had been sitting out an hour before they were brought in (they were also a lot drier than a normal burger). Service was solid except the person tried stopping us from grabbing food as it was being put out at a slow pace. even though we were about an hour and half into a 5 hour event. Sides like brussel sprouts and tater tots we're hot and loved though.
Michael de Lange
The burgers are perfectly ok. It's sort of sold as a "lab" where they experiment with crazy fare. It doesn't quite live up to that but the burgers are tasty enough. There is a nice fire pit and outdoor patio which is lovely.
Chris W.
Had the Cluck Norris. The sandwich was sloppy. The menu options seemed like they needed updating. Much salt, cholesterol, and fatty food menu items. The flow of the store is a little lacking as there dividers, curtains, and this ridiculously high ceiling. It gives the impression of formerly use assembly plant reformed into a restaurant. The bathroom is too far from the main eating hall. You must walk down a long corridor in order get to it. Would hate to know my kids went back there. Only thing that saves this place is the retro free arcade and pool room on the top level.
Tips:
Need to update food. Need to redesign the interior and exterior setting should be less industrial.
Shawn Sandlin (EvilBetty)
The Mac and Caesar is satisfying. The mac and cheese is creamy with noodles that have lots of nooks and crannies to hold that delicious cheese sauce. The huge caesar salad has big croutons and great cheeses. The staff accommodated my request to substitute the salad dressing with a vegetarian-friendly option, and got it right. Our order was ready in 15 minutes and they even offered a 10% discount because we picked it up.
Joel Headley
In a fun setting decorated with lunch boxes, these guys serve up big, tasty burgers which left a pleasing coat of grease on my hands from enjoying these handheld wonders.
The Oreo shake was also delicious and a fitting starter to my meal. I added fudge to the shake which further made the experience belt busting.
With the burger I had the Mac, fully loaded. The cheese appropriately coats my mouth as to enjoy the taste even longer.
Britt
Food here is always good! I usually get a burger and fries. They also have pretty good strawberry lemonade and jalapeño ranch!
Service is always good and the wait staff is always friendly. The music is always on point too.
Subhrangshu Nandi
Tried "Burger of the Gods" which was Kobe beef burger with blue cheese and gorgonzola cheese. Unusual combination. I was lucky I asked for the blue cheese on the side. Otherwise, it would have been overwhelming. The burger was okay. The sweet potato fries were average. This place would be good for a gluttonous meal, but wouldnt recommend for a work day lunch/dinner. Exorbitantly priced (and sized) shakes were popular here. I didn't dare to try them. None of my table mates (five) who ordered the shake were able to finish them.
Steven Weiss
I've grown to like this place a lot more, over the years. When I first moved to Seattle, I had sticker shock at the prices. But compared to all the new restaurants popping up, it's pretty fairly priced, and the appetizers are all pretty tasty.
Eileen Bailey
I really want to like this place more, but the food is really just O.K. The shakes are fun and quite tasty but the burgers weren't anything special especially for the price. The appetizers are decent, but again, it's a bit pricy for the food quality.
Carmen Moore
I always have a good experience at the South Lake Union location. The service was good, the food was well prepared and we got it served in a timley manner. I had the buffalo chicken roll ups and my friend had the mac & caesar. We enjoyed every last bite!
Hannah L
Love coming to lunchbox lab anytime I am craving a burger! I love the classic American or tear jerker (they put a ton of pickled jalapeños on this one so beware). They have really great and quick service, and taking measures seriously with Covid. everyone was wearing a mask. I felt safe dining here, and they have outdoor space with a fire if you can grab a spot. They also do takeout!
Hung Sewell
Wasn't very busy here during lunch, burgers were delicious, was a bit too over cooked but still tasted great. The fries were amazing and they give you choices of different seasonings you can add to it.
Daniel Chan (Chasing320)
So good. Merican is how a Big Mac should be.
Josh Sulkers
Amazing burgers, amazing service. I have been here multiple times for a work lunch, dinner, and mid week beers. There is good selection of brew, all kinds of crazy burgers and other food. This place has never let me down.
Justin Huang
I got a dork (duck and pork) burger. It wasn't bad, but I'll stick with a regular burger next time. The shake we got was really good, but also kind of pricey. They have nice decor with lots of interesting things on the walls and along the tables.
Scott Smith
Delicious food, great selection, fast service. I'm in town once a year for a convention and and make a point out of visiting Lunchbox Laboratory. Only complaint is I swear the maple bacon boozy shake I'm remembering was a normal menu item and not a special, and I'm disappointed it's not there anymore. But Drunken Elvis is the bomb, so it's all good.
Musa Shah
Always a good experience. Friendly staff and great food.
Drew Hansel
One of a kind burgers, cocktails that knock you on your a**. Very unique and rich flavors in all of their food items. Who doesn't like Mac n cheese and tatter tots? Bring a good friend and an appetite
Jeff Bettger
We had a Christmas party in their private upstairs room. Food was great bar tender perfect. Lots of fun and good vibes all around. They have very creative burgers. Upstairs room has tons of games to play and a lot of room for a party for 30+ people.
Joshua Barrio
Had the "Burger of the Gods” bleu cheese It was good burger. Two types of blue cheese could be a bit much for some. Also had the Funyun Chicharrones wish it had more flavor dusting on it. Good thing they offer a variety of salts & pepper to add personal taste.
April Gibson
Was my meal ok? I guess. Would I go back? No. I got the "codfather" fish sandwich and the bun was soggy. The cheese curd appetizer was lukewarm. The fries were generic. The service was friendly but very slow. The decor inside is pretty cool. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place.
Ashley Gould
Update: Unfortunately, the prices have gone up, and the portions have gone down. Happy hour isn't nearly the deal it used to be, and dog sticks have been taken off the happy hour menu completely. Now 4/5 stars.
Previous review:
We're big fans of their happy hour, everyday 3-6pm and 9pm to close. There are alcoholic drinks and cocktails, but we come for the milkshakes and food. When you're craving classic burger, milkshake, & fries (or tots), the well-priced Scotty's Classic (2+ smaller burgers and side) is great to share. Of the happy hour shakes, we're fans of the Boston donut and Nesquick shakes. We've also had the peanut butter chocolate shake off the regular menu. It was thick and rich, with the right texture of Reese's chunks.
By far, my favorite item on the menu is the Dogsticks. These are corn dogs done properly, with flavorful center and light, fluffy batter. There are both regular and happy hour orders available.
Shogun R
Food is good, but isn't as good as it used to be - not as generous on bacon as they once were.
The shakes are okay but super sweet. I'd recommend against Nutella and Oreo together unless you're into super duper sweet stuff.
Dustin South
Some of the best burgers, drinks and service in Seattle. Definitely a new favorite of mine.
Ashley Smith
Delicious food. The brussel sprouts were addicting.
Edgar Barradas
OMG the smoker was so good!!! The chocolate mint shake was bomb as well!! , Everything was delicious and hour server was very nice at making recommendations about the menu and other places around the city, def coming back!
Molly Proctor
Amazing food and even more amazing staff. We were seated promptly and our food was cooked perfectly. While the prices are a lkttle more for a burger, I feel this place is really worth the money.
tony potts
Seriously, so good!! Definitely recommend if you are in green lake or Seattle. Or even in the area. Best burgers I've had here. I'm usually picky about burgers and this place was perfect! I ordered their spud burger and nutshell shake. DELICIOUS!
Karen Harvey
Psychedelectable is a fine mushroom burger with truffle mayo. So good! Cheese curds are the best. Service was fun in the lunchbox. Hard to find due to construction, but worth the trip. Street parking is the challenge. Free after 6pm, but happy hour is 3-6. Still worth it.
Rick Belk
Great menu selections awesome staff but be ready for a big tab! Very pricey but also very delicious! They do have happy hour though and we just didnt know about it and paid full price. We had three in our party one appetizer one drink and one entre each the bill was over $100 for lunch.
Bud Cashatt
Creative and interesting burgers are the name of the game here... But don't worry you can almost never go wrong with ordering something at the Lab. They also have killer shakes, again with awesome combos and sometimes local fresh ingredients... I had a fresh strawberry shake once here that I will forever remember... They also have a great bar and beer selection.
SJ Faulder
Best burgers my friend and I had. Really great service we got our food pretty fast especially how busy they we're. Everyone that worked there was really friendly. Definitely coming back to Seattle even if it's just for the burgers.
Andreea-Elena Gagiu
Good milkshakes. Interesting burger experiments. Messy eating.
Josiah R
Incredible food, outstanding customer service! Love this spot!
Curtis Himel
My favorite burger in Seattle. The flavors are just adventurous enough and delicious.
Note that the newer counter serve "express" Lunchbox Labs have been not nearly the same quality in my experience.
Dan K
Stopped here for a quick drink and snack while the rest of the family shopped at REI. I had a boozy shake and it was awesome. As a wisconsinite, I'll proudly vouch for the quality of their cheese curds. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive. Cool place!
E M
Great unique burgers. Usually I don't like garlic fries, but these were really good. Friendly staff. Gouda mac & cheese had my taste buds doing backflips. 👍👍 …
Peter Anderson
Good and imaginative burgers, but the atmosphere doesn't make me want to go back.
I think this place can be summed up by their "Homage to the Dick's Deluxe" burger. This is a $14.50 homage to a $3 burger.
Rebecca Allen
It was so worth it best burger I ate in seattle
Jennifer Highton
Really enjoyed our lunch!! Latest reviews made me skeptical. But me and my date were very happy with our food and the helpful service.
Marc Bell-Cruz
I've always been a fan of Lunchbox so it pains me to give their Southlake Union location a less than stellar review. Over the years though I've noticed a decline in the quality of their food. Today was unfortunately no different. Their fried pickles was chewy and their tots tasted like it's been under a heating lamp for a few hours. Burgers are still a delight, despite a distinguishable decline in freshness. Overall, still passable but barely. Please, someone get Lunchbox Lab back to serving quality and fresh food.
Creed Haymond
Delicious burger. I'm avoiding dairy at the moment, so I'm missing out on the effect of the cheese. A little overpriced, but I'm also a little new to the Seattle area, so maybe this is fine. The fries were nothing special at all though.

The American burgers and fries were good but the service left me unhappy. My order was missing a dip that I had asked for and I never got the chance to remedy that because the next time I saw the wait staff was about half a hour later when I had already finished.
Other thing was coming back from the restroom, I ran into someone who had cleaned my table, he was holding my 1/4 full beer and water glass and walking away from the table. At least he had the decency to ask if I was finished with it. I wasn't.
This would maybe have been acceptable if I had been gone long or the restaurant very busy but neither were true.
At least they didn't try to charge me for the missing item.
Luis Reynoso
One of my favorite resturants of all time. The people who come up with the menu items truly have a good understanding of textures and flavor. Nothing on their menu is bad and most of the items will impress simply because of the combination of foods.
Mystic Knight (Nick)
Stopped in between buses. Are the spicy broccoli with cheese sauce. The presentation was on point. The staff friendly and/or working hard to cook. And it's quiet- outside which is pretty nice. Anyways, it's only process of you're planning on getting all your calories from something more expensive then a five dollar something? Think about it o.0
Kathrina Tugadi
They have a split happy hour -- early & late, all day Mondays. $5 burgers. But I order off their $9.99 lunch combo. Fast, attentive service and good comfort food.
Liz (Fave Local)
The menu was awrdome, so many things to choose from it was hard to not go crazy and over order. The burger was delish, had the mushroom one. The garlic tots knocked it put of the park for me. Chicken rolls were yummy as well, can't wait to try other items soon.
Antonio Lagarde
Worth the drive from west seattle every single time. Burgers and wings are absolutely tasty.
Cheri Polak
Amazing. Food, creative and exceptional. Best milkshakes ever. Atmosphere fun relaxed and a little rock n roll. service very good. No complaints. COME HERE!

I've visited this place on more than one occasion and have rarely been disappointed. Some reviews
Faux Real: amazing
Oreo Shake: very thick, very filling
Boston Cream Donut Shake: My favorite. I often come here just to have this one. It goes extremely well with both the Kahlua and the Irish Cream spiked offerings.
Gavachos Totchos: Absolutely fantastic, another favorite of mine. Cheesy, saucy and deep fried sumptuousness in a plate.
Vegan bean patty in a double grilled cheese sandwich: the patty was a little grainy, not as great as the Faux.
Ambience:
Has an outdoors section that's just fantastic in the summer. Great place to visit!
Michael Fitzgerald
The bread was pretty disappointing. The fried pickles were cool and the sauce was nice, but other than that, nothing super super special.
Hal Carleton
Burgers are great, a bit messy though. Tots are perfect. The only reason I'm giving a 3star review is because the cod sandwich was terrible. The mustard sauce they put on that sandwich completely ruins it.
Srikanth Mukku
Not upto my expectations. I ordered a Dork burger which is mainly pork and duck served with some bacon and some fries...which was not that exciting. The Milk shake ordered with it was too sweet and syrupy.
Nick DeFreece
Good food and friendly, accommodating people. Love me some Tearjerker and a scotch ale. Also love the habeñero and other various salts at the tables. Upstairs room is pretty sweet with a couple arcade games.
Clayton Conway
What a cool burger place! I definitely recommend, they have an impressive assortment of burgers or you can build your own! I had the "James West" burger and it was delicious, even the bacon was extra crispy!
Carina Box
While the service was not the best, the decor in this restaurant is entertaining making it a great venue for kids or young adults who love old cartoons/comics. Lunchbox Laboratory's burgers are as the name suggests - an experiment, but one that is successful. Burgers are delicious and even better...the milkshakes!
matteo visentin
This is definitely a great place to eat a burger. The selection of burgers is quite large and the burger I hate was tasty. If you are looking for a healthy meal this probably not your first stop, but definitely worth a try if you want to indulge!
Topher Henness
Awesome staff, more burgers than you can shake a stick at, and good booze.
Forewarning, though: the grilled cheese buns will destroy your facial hair.
Thurston Dangernose
Quite simply outstanding burgers. Their atmosphere is a little too "dudebro" to fit the moniker. Alas my opinions on what should be a 50s era BBQ theme versus "frat boy rumpus" are staunchly disarmed when faced with any of their delightful burgers. Worth the trip.
Nick Searle
Fantastic burgers and shakes! I got the dreamsicle shake spiked with vodka and it was amazing. This place is super cute and a must try.
Golden Papaya
Delicious food! Mainly American eats, I would say if you consider burgers comfort food this is your place. Also recommend the Gavachos Tachos ( NO bacon if you're vegetarian like myself) yum!
Dayna McClary
Unique burger meats with many many fun side choices, try their Mac & cheese! Good buns. Shake flavors are also unique, such as banana cream pie, key lime, Nutella...Worth trying.
Edward Faydo
The Industrial atmosphere and excellent service coupled with the best burger I have had made for a enjoyable experience.
Kevin White
4.5 starts... The burgers are unique and with that comes the .5, some are a bit too fatty. But they have some good ones like DORK and BOG.
Aartvark Graphics
Love lunchbox Laboratory. The burgers are out of this world. I didn't think that I would ever come across a burger that wasn't like at least some other Burger I'd had before, but lunchbox Laboratories hamburgers are like no other. They're juicy, and fresh, and you can tell they put a lot into their ingredients. I would definitely highly recommend lunchbox Laboratories to anyone in the South Lake Union area.
Paul Archer
Edit- OK i have been back a few times since my complaint about the fatty bacon and the improvment is undeniable. Lunchbox lab is back to 5 stars.
Changing from 5 stars to 4. this place is still great but for a place that prides itself on the claim that 6 slices of bacon is average i have to say that the bacon quality on my last burger here was bad, it was mostly fat. Poor show lunchbox lab. get some decent bacon back on your burgers.
Cheryl Elsberry
Cameron was a very polite and personal server he also was very helpful with letting us know where things in the area were, we were here visiting Hospital. I will tell people about your Restaurant! The food was very delicious, I wish I could of been able to buy the flavored salts, I bet everybody would buy them if it was available.
Thank you so very much!
Shannon Ridenour
Everytime I'm in Seattle this place is a must stop!!! There happy hour is hands down, one of the best i have every had. Plus happy hour is kid friendly. $5 for everything on the happy hour menu, making dinner very affordable.
Zachary Palmer
I love these burgers. They are huge, original, and full of flavor. It's kind of a fun laid back atmosphere for a family or out with friends. Its cool they have a location in Gig Harbor now too.
Terrance F. Marrow
Diverse menu and friendly staff.
Windy Winter
Burger was ok. Gluten free bun was nothing special. Garlic fries were great. Not a bad wait time and we went on a Friday night.
Marty Newell-Large
Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent advice for two out of towners. Had the 47/53 burger - a little gamey because of the wild boar, but that's what wild boar is. Probably the best burger I've ever had. My wife's Psychedelectable burger with 2 different mushrooms and a mushroom aioli was also top tier.
Tom Perry
Very nice place! Great food and service. I may have filled up on an appetizer and beer, so I warmed my burger up the next day, was still delicious!
Chris Phillips
One of my top 10 favorite restaurants. Awsome atmosphere, delicious house made burgers. Good service. I've been here multiple times, never been disappointed... ever!
G
Pricey, but acceptable burger. Jumping on the trend (or maybe having started it) of "gourmet" burger places in Seattle, Lunchbox offers a variety of clever combinations (like the dork; duck and pork) to entice if you're bored with the standard burger. Repeat visitors will be served by checking out the daily specials, for mac and cheese, burgers, and milkshakes -- booze-addled or otherwise.
Service ranges from good to, "Can I speak with your manager?"
It's best to avoid weekday lunches due to the proximity to the Amazon campus, but if you're anywhere near South Lake Union, you already know to avoid the neighborhood most of the time anyway.
Expect to walk out for about $20 with tip.
Jeffrey Lee
Good burger and even better tots!
Tom Biro
One of the more consistent burgers in town. Big fan of the OG Tearjerker. Also, Brussels sprouts as a side is the play. Great beer and drink options, too!
P. Carlon
Churken Burger with either tater tots or macaroni and cheese is the perfect lunch - although you might not be able to eat dinner afterwards. Churken is half chicken / half turkey. The toys are served with like seven varieties of salt. This place is outrageous and they're so creative with their menu. Milkshakes are perfection. If this review was helpful, please give it a thumbs up, thanks.
Alix M
Quirky, nerdy atmosphere with science-themed gadgets and art everywhere! Their unique food "experiments" have some interesting combinations like nutmeg Mac & Cheese, which are pricey but still a cool experience. The wait was pretty long, though, with not much indoor seating; we were left sitting outside for 45 minutes in the cold.
Akash
Amazing place for burgers and shakes! Really enjoyed their veggie burger and the shake was really good too! They have outdoor seating and you can sit next to the fire for warmth.
Isabella Moreira
Lunchbox has great burgers, mac & cheese, milkshakes, and other unique creations. It's definitely a place to get some comfort food and the menu has awesome rotating "experiments" like mac du jour. Try a boozy shake or get a great deal during happy hour!
Kateryna Shyrkova
It’s our second time here and service is just unacceptable! There is no hostess, so a long wait at the door until someone notice you. Than it takes a server way more than a couple of minutes to greet you. Than forever to get a check. And it’s all when half of the restaurants empty, they are not busy at all! Food is OK, but kitchen slow too. They need to reconsider how they train the staff.
Ben Curtis
Great burgers and milkshakes. Staff was super kind to my kids, even on a busy day like the 4th of July. And they gave out these really fun wax sticks (Wiki-stix?), that everyone enjoyed toying with.
Kevin Morgan
There are plenty of places to get a burger in Seattle. There are fewer places that serve a burger that's worth your time. Fewer yet that are still in their element outside of a boring classic burger. And then there's Lunchbox Lab. They wear that experimental flair in every aspect from their seasoned salts to their rotating menu items.
You'll catch yourself reading the menu and wondering "Do all of these things belong together? What kind of lunatic would make something like that?" Then you get your lunch and you instantly understand. Absolutely ask your server for their recommendation, they know what's up and will make sure you find the one item on their menu that *had to be* invented just for you.
G S
Totally legit place! I’ve been in living in the area now for six years and I’ve tried all the burger places within a 5 mile radius. My top three are 1. Lunchbox 2. Li’l Woody’s 3. Red Mill
Alex Mazzoli
I try and go to the Lunchbox every time I'm in the Seattle. It's pretty much a burger joint and while they do have other things on their menu you can't go wrong with their burgers. They have alcoholic milkshakes, an arcade and bar upstairs, and their menu is just zany enough to give your tastebuds something you won't find anywhere else.
victor s
Fun atmosphere, tasty food!
Sonuva “Jimsnon” Steele
They're happy hour is my favorite for food. Such a good selection and everything is $5. Good portions as well. One item will definitely fill you up.
Aleksandr Michuda
Really good burgers. But sometimes they put a little too much sauce on the burger.
They have shakes too! The chopped salad is really good actually.
Shahed Valian
It was my first time trying this burger chain and I ordered the "Burger of the Gods".
It was so delicious and different taste that I wouldn't forgot for a long while.
Friendly servers, warm and cleen environment.
Nicholas Weikel
Amazing but pricey burgers. Tons of creative toppings to choose from. The menu is constantly changing so there is always something new an shiny to try. However, the service is glacially slow!
Chuck Bjork
ADVRider approved! Great food, with lots of flavor. Basically, they use the best ingredients, and have some creative takes on different sandwiches, drinks, etc. We loved it! Prices are about $14 per sandwich, but the quality is excellent. Mac and Cheese is out of this world!
Peter Nguyen
Scientists and nerds rejoice and come eat here! As both of the above, I really loved this place. The decor is a perfect mix of mad science lab meets retro Fallout-style plus a healthy dose of classic metal lunchbox tins. Any place with a plethora of high volume Erlenmeyer flasks wins my vote to eat at.
Decor aside, the food was amazing! We actually ran into the happy problem of finding too many things we wanted to eat off the menu, so we ended up ordering way too much food, but it was all worth it! Sadly this meant we didn't have room for dessert this time, so a return will be required!
Aaron Torres
This place is pretty expensive, but if you're willing to dip into your savings they offer crazy sweet mixed drink shakes, and tons of burger combinations. They also offer gluten-free burgers for those who are concerned about that.
Jeremiah Patz
Wasn't bad bun was a bit firm. Burger was pretty good though
Marissa Quintana
Service was average but the burger and Boston cream milkshake was amazzzzing! Not that big on of a portion or I would definitely give it 5 stars. If I knew how to attach a photo I would post what I got!
Trinh Nguyen
Service takes a while, they're always busy but their food and drinks is exactly what you would expect from a restaurant that's always crowded - very good, big portions and fills you up (or get you tipsy, whichever thing you decide to order). It's a different experience considering they style their restaurant around the idea of "being in school". With beaker glasses and lunch box center pieces for ketchup mustard and seasonings.
Rachel Pereira Mondi
Delicious! I was definitely stuffed by the end of our meal. The Boston Cream Donut shake was divine. The James West and the mac and cheese were also very good.
Chelsea Snodgrass
Holy burger batman. Lunchbox makes a mean burger. I ordered the Tearjerker or something like that that came with habanero ketchup, serrano aioli, pepperjack cheese, and fried jalapenos. It was bomb and messy. The burger was juicy and spicy and huge. Every burger comes with sides; fries, sweets, or tots. I really didn't need or want the fries surprisingly. The sweets that I got were not very fresh or hot but the boyfriend's regular shoe strings were and they were salty and good.
We got to sit outside on the patio along the fire ring which was awesome on a spring day. I've heard their milkshakes are good as well. Service was good but it did take nearly 30 minutes for our burgers to come out after we had ordered them. That seemed a little ridiculous to us for burgers but they were very busy inside and out of the restaurant. Would come back for sure and try one of their other burgers.
Mitch McCurry
Been here a couple of times for a good burger, and they always deliver. Only complaint is the prices are a bit steep for a casual burger joint.
Max Paulson
Fun and interesting concept. The food can be a bit heavy, so come when you're hungry! They have good tater tot and vegetarian options, as well as a nice outdoor patio.
Luis Arnaut
Great service, and the place is pretty cool to hang out for a beer or two. Hamburgers and fries are meh... The bread felt just a bit old. I may give it a try in the future.
Jeanneau Peltier
Great service with patio seating. Had the bison burger and tots. Cooked the way you want...delicious.
Laura Vonessen
Food was great as always today, and the staff was friendly and doing their best, but they were very understaffed.
Matt Soave
Got the Santa Fe Slammer, which has bacon, bbq sauce, grilled onions, and Anaheim peppers. It was awesome (though for $14 it better be) and I highly recommend it. Nice and juicy and flavorful. Milkshakes looked tasty, too, but they were like $6.50 and looked tiny!
Phillipa Wright
3 stars from me because they have decent burgers. But mediocre atmosphere, and largely overpriced/overrated food. ~$16 for a burger, plus $7 beers during happy hour??? That's no happy hour. I'll pass.
Michael Hampton
Tried Lunchbox Laboratory for the first time today. The cheese curds we're good. The burgers were reported good by my family members. I had the Mac n Cheese and I have to admit, it was a little disappointing. The cheese sauce was too mild. On an intensity scale: Beecher's is a 10, Kraft is a 5, this was a 0.05. It was an expertly crafted Bechamel with a great texture, but bland and forgettable. The mammoth pile of 🥓 pieces and ground beef really stole the show.
seattle in the 90s
Meh. Food isn't bad just overly greasy for my own personal preference but they have a really delious pineapple beer that stood out and is the reason they get a 3.
Matthew Mage
Excellent burgers for a decent price. Keep in mind they cook their burgers medium / medium-well. Service was decent, but could be improved.
Bam Mendiola
The burgers are sublime, the milkshakes a sweet treat, but the service less-than-sweet. An order at my table was forgotten and the meal was delivered after most of us had finished eating.
Stephanie Barnett
I went with my daughter for a late lunch yesterday and we loved the taste of our food, although my yam fries were particularly greasy. After we left, we got really sick and were throwing up all afternoon and evening. We will not be returning for more food poisoning.
Kathleen Snyder
Fun food and atmosphere. Chorizos dusted with Funyum seasoning are yummy. Good burgers, shakes and other foods are available including vegan and gluten free options. Gets a bit pricey with all the add-ons though.
Ariana Lauren
Creative sandwiches, burgers, mac and cheese s, and boozie shakes! Check out the lunchbox full of flavored salts to inspire your own food inventions. Great selection of beers, ciders and hard spirits.
Lunchbox Laboratory is a fun choice fogr adults and children. Worth a few tries!
Bob G
My burger was great, wife's fish was average. Service was excellent.
Prateek Saxena
One of the only places that were open during the Snowcalypse. Their burgers and boozy shakes are to die for. Just a thing to remember, they don't mix in the booze for their boozy shakes, it is served in a test tube. It would be great if it was pre mixed in
T-Shaun Gautreaux
Every time I visit Seattle I have to visit this place. It has some of the best burgers and shakes I’ve ever had. This time around I treated myself to the cinnamon toast crunk shake and the classic ‘Merican burger. Upon sipping the Cinnamon Toast Crunk shake, I was instantly transported to a simpler time, when I was a young kid; eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch in my ninja turtles underwear. Much like the scene in Ratatouille, when Anton Ego takes a bite of...ratatouille that was expertly prepared for him by Remy; except this was real life and the health department frowns upon rats cooking in the kitchen.
Ethan Horwitz
Awesome service. Able to accommodate many food allergies and still had amazing food. If I lived nearby I'd eat there every day. Fried pickles were the best I've ever had.
Rashid Kaviani
The food here is fantastic and the outside seating is great. The toppings on the burgers are what really make the difference. I recommend the god or the princess if you like salty feta cheese burgers.
Joel Lucas
For this years annual Family Fight my oldest decided that her weapon was going to be her lunchbox. I'll tell you what, a plastic lunchbox might leave some bruises, but it sure as a can of corn isn't going to do any damage. So, we went to Lunchbox Laboratory. Now here is what gets my goat. We went in to get her a real nice custom piece done. All metal, nice edges and some bitchin graphics (I was pushing for a full band portrait of Jethro Tull but she went with U2) After getting our milkshakes and whiskey, we inquired about getting some work done. They don't make custom lunchboxes anymore, or ever. A real hoot and a holler of a milkshake though. Would return
Sreekanth JP
Found a great deal on Groupon for lunchbox lab. They have a good range of burgers and milk shakes and also spiked milk shakes.
Will go back if I am around the corner. Staff are kind.
Liz Marshall
I thought it was alright. I won't race or rant about it. I enjoyed the Bah James Bah burger I had and my boyfriend had a bacon cheese burger which was good. But nothing makes me want to go back.
Bruce Morris
Great ambiance, service, selection, and food!
Rebecca Tabbycat
The restaurant looks great, with kind employees! The food is delicious, and the vegetarian options are just as good as the hamburgers! Milkshakes there are amazing
