Reviews of Local Tide
Walked by and was attracted by how many people are dining here so we decided to try it. The special of the day was crab roll and tried the salmon salad as well. The crab is really fresh and the bread is buttery and fresh. Definitely my favorite so far. The salad had decent flavour and lots of ingredients. Great place of local eats.
Wow. Just wow. One of the best lunches I've had in a long time. The salt and pepper fries were so crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The sandwiches (salmon and special albacore tuna) were so fresh and cooked perfectly. Personally, my favourite was the clam chowder. If you love seafood, sandwiches, or soup, do yourself a favor and eat here.
Special shoutout to the owner Victor, who was just wonderful. If I ever end up back in Seattle I'm stopping here immediately.
Dragged my wife and kiddo here. It definitely lived up to the high rating. My rock fish banh mi (spelling?) sandwich was absolutely delicious. The chowder was a unique take on clam chowder that had some great clams. Wasn’t thrilled with the salt and pepper potatoes but the kiddo and wife enjoyed those. Place was
Clean and staff friendly. FYI order at the register and find a seat, enjoy some great seafood.
Intimate space, northwest flair, engaged staff and chefs that you can watch prepare food from you seat. As the name suggests, local seafood is 95% of the menu. A burger does exist for those that need it and it is fine right! From the shrimp toast, chips and salmon belly dip (🔥) to the fish sandwich, I had an amazing first experience and can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. Thank you Victor, I’ll be back 😎
A very fun place to get some amazing fish! Our party order the fried fish, salmon teriyaki and the dover and fries (see pics). All were AMAZING, top quality fish, the dryers are definitely kept clean. They have indoor seating, bar seating and a few outside tables. They do serve alcohol and other drinks which are in the back (grab before you pay). Overall if your in the area give this spot a go! 10/10
This place has one of the best fish sandwiches around. It was decadent and crispy without being too heavy. I can't wait to try their Dover sole nuggets next time. We also had fried oysters which came with an amazing parsley salad. Very clean and beautiful restaurant with a friendly staff and a good beer selection. It actually shares a window with Aslan Brewing's taproom nextdoor and you can order food from Local Tide fr next door as well. It's places like this that keep Fremont awesome.
I’ve been a regular here since moving to Fremont earlier this year going nearly once a week. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu. Everything is delicious and consistent. The staff is always friendly and know me by name.
This has to be one of the best non-fussy restaurants in Seattle. My favorites here are the salmon belly dip with their house made chips, fried oysters, and rockfish bowl.
The home fries were an elevated fish + chips. Balanced flavors and well seasoned. Delicious. The chowder + sour dough toast was full of flavor and perfect for the cloudy and rainy day. Crab roll is perfectly toasted, warm, and wonderfully seasoned.
We were in Town visiting family and my Sister had this place bookmarked to try. We odered the dover & fries, the smoked salmon belly dip, salmon sandwich, chowder and the special of the day - Alaskan Ling Cod ceviche to share.
Wow. The flavors were on point and so tasty. Although the ceviche was my personal favorite, I would order everything again.
Wholesome and delicious food and friendly staffs! I had a rockfish banh mi-style sandwich, shrimp toast, and salmon house salad.
Foods have a touch of Asian feel to it which was nice.
We stopped by Local Tide during one of our walks. Although we only ordered a beer and salmon belly dip, it was so delicious! I don't always love salmon but it was so good. There is outdoor seating for your fur babies as well 🙂 will be back!
This restaurant has a very simple atmosphere and menu with tasty offerings and high quality food. My wife and I finished touring the Theo Chocolate Experience and were looking for a quick bite in Seattle near Freemont. We stumbled upon Local Tide and saw the simple menu posted directly inside their front door to the restaurant. We ordered the salt and pepper fries, Salmon Teriyaki and Salmon Salad. The food came out in minutes and was cooked to perfection. All three were delicious! The portions were large and the ingredients were fresh. I highly recommend this gem next time your in the mood for seafood while visiting the outskirts of Seattle.
Incredible food.
I had the rockfish banh mi, and the smoked salmon dip. Both were phenomenal.
The interior of the restaurant is super laid back, open kitchen, sit where ever is open. I went at 6pm on a Friday and there was plenty of room at the bar.
Super attentive and relaxed staff, genuinely cares to hear if you enjoyed the meal.
Such a unique place with truly special offerings.
Exceeded my expectations on basically all levels. A little pricey, but hey, that's 2022 in Seattle. The dover nuggets and fish sandwich were really good, as well as the fries. The crab roll was great too, but $30 means it is a splurge purchase. The other items are more moderately priced.
Wow. I had been to this place once before when visiting Seattle and I’m so glad I went back. The rockfish bowl was delightful, so was the clam chowder, and the icing on the cake was the special home fries of the day. 10/10 I could shout from the roof top about how great this place is
Been living in Fremont for years, stopped by Local Tide after a friend recommended it. Wow! The Rockfish banh mi was full of bright flavor and perfect little patty, the salmon sandwich great and the fries were crispy!
We loved the place, the vibe, the simple menu and ofcourse the very fresh food! We got the fries, salmon teryaki and the salmon sandwich and all were great!
A little on the pricier side and portions are not huge either, but the quality of the ingredients and presentation are very impressive. I’d say the per person price is closer to $20-30. The staff is also very fast, attentive, and helpful.
I’ve been coming to Local Tide since it opened. It is one of the best restaurants in Fremont.
****The salmon BLT is my favorite seafood sandwich in Seattle****
The fries are awesome. Ive eaten most of the menu, and it all great! The only thing that didn’t rock my world was the dover nuggets. I just wasn’t into the mix of hot and cold. If you eat in Fremont you should come here.
Pro Tip - go to Aslan Brewing next door and they can pass food through the window.
Tried 5 different items on the menu. Everything was top notch and service was fantastic! You need to try this place! Went back the next day to try more items on the menu. The ceviche was delicious, but needed more chips, the Rockfish Banh mi was not super flavorful as it needed more spice. The fish sandwich was good, but bun was too big for the amount of fish (I was told it’s Dover). The shrimp toast was good, but not amazing as some reviews said. The spicy sauce on the side, however, was amazing! Loved the service the first time - second day server was just not friendly or cheerful. She almost seemed angry or bored.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had!
This is an amazing place for seafood- everything is so fresh.
The clam chowder is the best soup I’ve ever tasted, honestly.
We also got the salt and pepper fries and salmon sandwich, both of which were soooo good and packed with flavour, without being too heavy. They had a brioche bun for the sandwich and sourdough for the soup - and both were tasty.
Would definitely come back again to try more stuff. Service was awesome and friendly as well. Come here!!!
4.5/5
Great food, fresh fish, fast service, great staff. I've been trying to be more strict on giving 5 star reviews, but here we are! Only negative comment is the bread was great, not perfect :). Everything else was superb! Loved taking them to Golden Garden
Awesome albacore tuna sandwich - really hit the spot. Can't wait to return and try the rest of the menu. The place was full on Friday for lunch, but not too loud or boisterous. Prompt, friendly service from a team that works well together.
Best place to get fish sandwhiches! Who thought fish sandwhiches can taste good? The salmon BLT is to die for. Melts in your mouth and you can barely taste the tomato but it along with the bacon and lettuce pair so well with the salmon and crispy thin bread. The fries came out and I was surprised it wasn’t thin cut but it goes so much better with the thick cut. The clam chowder was good, reminded me of chicken pot pie for some reason, if you love clams this is yours because they give you so much! The rockfish cod sandwhiches is literally like a banh mi, if you love banh mi then order this! I’d come back!
This place is fantastic! Such a unique menu, fresh seafood, and in the middle of a great neighborhood in Fremont. You walk up to a counter to order, then take a number to a table nearby. A bonus is they’re connected to Aslan Brewing and you can get a beer with you food, or in our case drink while we waited for our food to come out 😋 We tried the Rockfish Banh Mi, the Rockfish Bowl, and the Salt & Pepper Fries. Delicious flavor combinations, and sure to impress! This isn’t like anything else I’ve had in town. Will definitely be back to try more of their menu!
Delicious dinner! My husband and I are staying at the Hyatt Regency for a wedding and we stumbled upon this restaurant which is right across the street. I ordered the local salmon and my husband had the seafood gnocchi and they were divine! Both were cooked beautifully, and the Washington wines were a wonderful pairing for our dinner. This is a new restaurant, and you won’t be disappointed with the food or atmosphere.
Flavorful and unique Pacific Northwest seafood in a counter service café that’s conveniently located in the heart of Freemont. The specials rotate regularly and are truly unique (and delicious) for visits and locals alike.
Such an amazing seafood place. Try their salmon burger or the shrimp bites.
Very tasty and flavorful menu.
The Salmon House (photo) was tasty and very filling, but it was the Dover Nuggets that really stole the show. Highly recommended visit for quick and tasty seafood
Right off the bat, we drove by this place and it was packed—Apparently for good reason. The food was amazing. Every ingredient is locally sourced, from the fresh seafood to the beverage selections. The place really lives up to its name. Plus, ambience is very sleek and casual. Their home fries, shrimp toast, and Manila clams were some of our favorites! Will definitely be back next time to try some of their other dishes. Highly recommend!
We have had some seriously good food here and it continued tonight. A cute, small eatery that has a limited number of choices but they all rock. The Rockfish bahn mi was crispy with loads of veggies and a flavorful aioli. The salmon house was a cold salad with butternut squash, cauliflower, cucumber, pickled onions, quinoa and salmon with croutons and a delicious light dressing. It was so good and so large I had to share. Highly recommend! Food came out fast and staff was attentive and helpful. I wish we had tried the salt and pepper fries, they looked and smelled amazing.
Definitely one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long, long time. I don’t know how they prepare the salmon, but it’s so incredibly delicious and tender. The rest of the ingredients were spot on. I would not change anything about this.
Also tried the mint tea and it was awesome! Not too sweet which is perfect.
Food came out quickly, and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
Edit: Came back here to try more of their offerings. I definitely preferred their salmon sandwich over the fried fish one, but perhaps I overdid it on the fried items by ordering the fries and shrimp toast. 😅
Love the texture of the very peppery fries!
Shrimp toast was a bit too salty that day but was very juicy.
We got the Dover and chips, rockfish banh mi, fried oysters and seared albacore tuna sandwich. All of it was delicious and reasonably priced. The chips are perfectly crispy. The banh mi had a pleasantly surprising fresh dill. I am going back to try the rest of the menu!
Also the service was fantastic. They don't take reservations and we had a party of 8, but they were able to move seats around to accommodate us all.
Great food, fast service and amazing selection. Everything we tried was made fresh and tasted amazing. They even offer their own craft beers. Definitely worth a visit.
Delicious! Had the rockfish banh mi, smoked salmon belly dip and the salmon sandwich. All three were incredible. You simply must try this place.
Local Tide is one of the few restaurants in this city which knows how to prepare fish. We've never been here in time for their crab roll (weekends only) but have hopes of having it one day. We've been here 3x's and had the following: Salmon Sando, Salt & Pepper Fries, Albacore Tuna Sando, Ling Cod Ceviche and clams for their anniversary celebration. We took my mom who visits from Farmington, NM and always request fresh fish, when she was here for her recent visit and she had the Rockfish Bahn Mi. I ordered Shrimp Toast for the table. Everything is delicious. You can't go wrong ordering. We love it here and will be back when in Fremont. Recently we were there before seeing one of our favorite bands who was in town and playing at Neumos, MOONTRICKS! My advice is to frequent Local Tide often and go early because when something is sold out, its gone for the night from the menu.
Got the salmon BLT and the fried rockfish sandwiches to go and they were off the hook (pun intended)! Both sandwiches were a perfect and creative combo of fish, veggies, and sauces. When we got there at 11am, they had just sold out of their limited quantity dungeness crab sandwich so we'll have to try to snag one of those next time.
The rockfish sandwich (their take on a banh mi) and fried fish (dover sole) are so good! Fried oysters are well seasoned and delicious too. Grab food then sit at Aslan brewery next door to enjoy this meal with a beer.
Tried this place for takeout the first time a few weeks ago, and had my mind blown by the Rockfish Banh Mi. The texture of the crunchy vegetables, juicy fish and soft-but-crunchy roll was excellent, and the blend of flavors from herbs, pickled, and savory ingredients elevated it even more. It was filling without being too much food, with a generous amount of fish.
Being smitten by this experience, I did some reading and found out about the elusive Dungeness Crab Roll special that is available only on weekends and only in limited quantities. I arrived there on a Sunday morning a few minutes after they opened and was able to score one.
I have to say that I could tell the ingredients were all super high-quality, but I just must not have the same crab crush as many other people do. For me it didn't have the breadth of flavors that I experienced in the other sandwich, and although by the nature of its ingredients it is filling, it just didn't seem like that much food. For my money I would much rather have 2 of the Rockfish Banh Mi than 1 of the Crab Rolls.
Regardless, I can't wait to go back for a Banh Mi and try some of their other menu items as well.
Also worth noting - even though I was just picking up food to go both times I stopped by, the staff was warm, friendly, and expedient, and made sure to come over and offer me water while I was waiting for my order.
Amazing local seafood
* Definitely worth the drive there just for it!
$20-35 per person.
We shared the Crab Roll, Rockfish sandwich and Salt & Pepper Fries. All were amazing.
The Crab Roll is to die for. Crab Roll, as its purest form: fresh buttery roll, crab and barely any sauce. You can really taste the freshness of the crab.
The Rockfish sandwich was also delicious, rich in flavor and herbs and cooked to perfection.
The fries were just what we needed to close the meal, again, perfectly cooked.
All in all amazing place!
We came here on a random Tuesday afternoon just to try it and we were so amazed by the food. We got the smash burger and the rockfish sandwich with some fries and they were both absolutely mouth watering. The staff works fast and was extremely busy during our stay but always made sure to ask if we liked everything.
Decor is cute and menu is concise.
My only complain; which has nothing to do with the overall score, is that some of those propagations on your wall desperately need to be repotted. The monstera roots in the glass vile were overflowing. As a plant enthusiast it was all I could look at.
We dropped by this place for lunch on our way to the cruise terminal. The atmosphere was casual and somewhat hip. The staff was attentive and served foods in a timely manner. The foods were unpretentious, mostly tasty, but slightly salty for our tastes. They may be fine for most customers, though. We got a smoked salmon dip for free as a first customer bonus(?). This place would be probably better with drinking.
Amazing seafood in a cozy and friendly atmosphere. Pretty much everything we ordered was outstanding.
Pretty good, but not sure I would pay $20 for a sandwich again, or $30 for a crab roll. If at least they came with a side of fries/potatoes.
Their salmon sandwich might be the best sandwich I’ve ever had anywhere in my life. Had to ask about how the salmon was prepared because I had never had anything like it. Incredible! Photo of the first one I had a few months ago and other photo is from last week when I needed to go back and get another.
A new favorite on my tour of SEATTLE food establishments. The salt and pepper potatoes are a staple and the fried fish sandwich makes you forget you ever tried a Filet o Fish at McDonalds.
Wonderful food. Black Codfish that we ordered actually melts in my mouth and the clam chowder soup is so delicious. The crews are super friendly, the ambience is wonderful and the price is very affordable. Definitely I will be a regular customer there 😊
I have been to this spot several times. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Seattle . Food is aesthetically pleasing and delicious! Customer service is also excellent. I always get the crab roll or fish sandwich with salt and pepper fries. Their salads also look delicious.
Simple menu with some of the freshest seafood around. My girlfriend and I split smoked salmon dip (delicious but can be challenging to eat with a potato chip), shrimp toast (crunchy and delicious), and a smash burger that rivals Loretta’s. Staff is so friendly and the atmosphere is casual but refreshing.
We got the rockfish bahn mi and the fish sando. Incredible. Expensive but everything was fresh and delicious.
The atmosphere is great. The food is even better. Crab roll was on point. The beer selection is great. You have to go here
Rockfish banh mi was so delicious and the fries where also fantastic. Both pictured here. We were also served our food quickly. Great overall experience here and will definitely return!
Came in for lunch and was thoroughly blown away by the experience. Each dish worked incredibly well. Even the unsuspecting Dover (fish) and chips, which at first glance looked a bit boring, was cooked to absolute perfection. The outside was seasoned well and crispy, and the inside was perfectly moist (apologies for using the word "moist"). Will be back again soon!
Local Tide is one of the best seafood restaurants in Seattle, period. Victor and team are always so warm and welcoming and have established such a great vibe! I’ve had nearly everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. While the crab roll is what they are known for - don’t be shy to try the home fries, rockfish banh mi, or salmon BLT - you won’t be disappointed! They also sneakily have one of the best burgers in the city and the starters are incredible. Must go whether you are from Seattle or visiting from out of town.
This was the best food I’ve had in a long time! This was the closest to where I was at for food so we went and we were not disappointed at all. I got fried oysters, salt and pepper fries and salmon teriyaki. Do yourself a favor and stop by. Normally you get what you pay for but here the food is amazing for the price!
Greeted immediately, friendly, excellent suggestions, tasty dishes, beautiful presentation and great portions. Definitely going back.
I really don't want to leave a good review because then this place will get super crowded and I won't get it go weekly like I want to 🤣 but honestly Local Tide is amazing!!!!!!! Their food is so delicious, fresh and somehow looks exactly like the stunning photos online. This little gem is so good I really can't say enough nice things about it. The vibe in there is so cool with a plant wall and the staff are incredibly kind! The chowder is phenomenal and the bahn mi is so fresh and flavorful. Absolutely recommend 👌🏽
Decided to try Local Tide after hearing about it from friends. We ordered the sole and salmon sandwiches as well as the salt and pepper potatoes. Everything was pretty good and the potatoes were delightfully crispy.
My expectations were high based on a chef friend who recommended this place, but they were strongly exceeded. The rockfish and fries fish sandwiches are both fantastic. As a born and raised Seattlite, I can be a loyalist to the culinary institutions of my youth and skeptical of new restaurants, but I think I have a new favorite spot in town.
Ordered takeout here (it was ready to pick up in 10 minutes) and it was AMAZING. I’ve been wanting to come here and, considering I live one block away, I don’t know what took me so long. I think I’ve added it to my list of Seattle staples! I had the rockfish bowl and salad, and I can’t wait to get back and try the sandwiches and crab roll. Friendly and attentive as soon as I stepped in for my order. So glad to have this spot in Fremont! And being right next to the Aslan Taproom is a huge plus.
Specializing in wild-caught local seafood with a regular seasonal menu rotation! I was introduced to this place yesterday and will definitely be back. The flavor profile on the salmon teriyaki was so good it ruined all teriyaki before it. My friend said the sandwiches are also excellent. We were able to pick our order up within 15 minutes and service was great and everything was fresh. Welcome to Fremont! Can't wait to return!
Casual space for seafood done right. Simple, fresh and vibrant ingredients that are always prepared perfectly. I have so much love for local tide. I get excited when someone asks me where I want to meet for lunch or dinner cause this is my go to.
I got the smoked salmon belly dip and a rockfish banh mi. The salmon dip was good but not super strongly flavored, but the seasoned potato chips made up for that. The rockfish banh mi was great though served open face and difficult to eat. The fish was very fresh, but lightly seasoned so overall it didn't bring much to the sandwich. I'd try it with salmon next time instead.
Locally and thoughtfully sourced fresh fish and seafood, perfectly prepared by Local Chef/Owner Victor. Fortunate to have enjoyed their ceviche special, salmon sandwich and clams so far. Discovered this rare gem recently on their 2 year anniversary and have become a regular.
The sandwiches have quality ingredients and basic construction, but there's zero way to justify a cost of $30 for a crab roll that essentially appetizer-sized. Avoid that and their other sandwiches are decent.
Absolutely sensational!! Drooling just thinking about that Rockfish Bahn Mi and beyond crispy good salt and pepper potatoes. We will be back!
After looking at the website and checking out the food, I was super excited to try this spot out. Ordered the rock fish banh mi, fried fish sando and the salt and pepper fries. The fried fish left something to be desired in terms of flavor, not bad, but not “oh my god I want this all the time”…not for $16. The banh mi did not have enough rock fish in it but the veggies were super good as well as the flavor but also, an $18 sandwich??? The fries were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and it’s hard to mess up potatoes. The 4-stars is because the price was a bit high for what it was.
SO. GOOD. Had the crab sandwich which was nothing short of perfect — melts in your mouth and has the perfect amount of flavor, allowing for the richness of the crab to come out. Second time had the salmon sandwich and while I prefer the crab sando, the salmon was prepared to perfection and the additions to the sandwich like butter lettuce and pickled onions really completed it. Honestly best seafood meal I’ve had in Seattle so far and I’ve made it a weekend staple because it’s just. so. good. And the staff are sooo nice!
This is my new favorite sea food restaurant in Seattle! The food is delicious and the staff are friendly. I just wish they didn't run out of the crab rolls so early! (It was already finished by 1 pm!)
Deliciously inventive without feeling gimmicky, fresh without being boring, and evocative of Seattle/Pacific Northwest without feeling touristy. So good.
Minor criticism - salmon seemed a little on the overcooked side for me, but the sandwich was still super tasty.
Soooo good!!! Best burger I've ever had -- it was the perfect size and just everything about it... yum yum yum. My fam pretty much ordered the whole menu and everything was perfection. We can't wait to come back.
Fantastic food, I had the Crab Roll special and my friend had a Salmon BLT. Good portion sizes, and everything tasted amazing! Will be back again soon.
Ordered the dover and chips.
It was good. Wish the fish had a little more kick too it. Not sure I'll remember it. The potatoes were good. Lively space
Local Tide is easily one of the best things that have happened to this city in the past year. The special salmon dip was a huge surprise for me, sweet, tangy, not too fishy, with the crisp, thin chips as a perfect compliment. The salmon sandwich sounds like a safe bet but I would actually recommend the rockfish sandwich instead, seemingly inspired by a Vietnamese banh mi style sandwich. The fries came out piping hot and were perfectly seasoned. I was thoroughly impressed by the Local Tide and look forward to coming again, hopefully soon!
Awesome rock cod civeche on special. Salmon sandwich, salmon salad, all sorts of excellent seafood items to select from. A great break from vegetarianism.
You can sit in Aslan next door and order from the Local Tide menu, which we did. It's quieter in Aslan so you can actually hear your conversation. Local Tide was very vibey but too loud to hang out inside.
Shrimp toast and rockfish banh mi were the highlights and would pass on the Salmon BLT next time. They forgot our toast but were nice about it and comped the dish when it finally did come.
Great service, tasty food and well plated.
Not hard to see why it’s a neighborhood favorite.
I will say the crab roll is a bit small for the price but hey, still worth trying once.
Outstanding Dungeness Crab special. Loved the vibe.
The smash burger is delicious! Full of flavor and the caramelized onions make it even better. You can order beer from Aslan brewing and if you’re at Aslan you can order food from here. My wife had the salmon teriyaki bowl the other day and she said is also amazing.
The staff was super friendly and their albacore sandwich was so good. The star of the show was definitely the smoked salmon belly dip though.
Dover nuggets are so good and crispy, the tartar sauce is nice n chunky too.
Had the home fries with grilled black cod special of the day. Also tender. The black cod tasted real good and had a smoked cured taste to it.
Their pilsner is decent and a crushable beer.
Would like to go back to try their fresh crab rolls.
"Home Fries", at $21, is the special, only on Thursdays. It includes some of the best smoked black cod I've ever had, delicate, smoky and not salty.
Definitely some of the best food I’ve had in Seattle! You can’t go wrong with any dish here but make sure to get the shrimp toast and rockfish bowl!
Pricey but good. I thought $16 for the fish sandwich was a little much. The rockfish borl was delicious as well but again $20 is steep imo.
Decided to try them out and very glad I did. Got the home fries for take out and they were delicious. The smoked cod, fresh dill, pickled onions- all were fantastic. If you are looking for excellent seafood that is good for takeout, this is the place.
Actual real crab 🦀 meat stuffed in this light buttery roll.
Looks like they sell only 30 a day
Friday - Sunday
Bathroom provided (coded)
Parking: street side
crab roll is a must-try - they only serve them over the weekend Friday through Sunday. Though it's on the pricier side of the menu, it truly represents the best from PNW
Friendly and attentive staff combined with, and this is not an exaggeration, the best fried fish sandwich I have ever had in my entire life. Can’t wait to come back again.
This spot has a welcoming ambiance, stunning PNW-inspired decor and, not surprisingly, delicious food. I suggest the shrimp toast and, if you can get there early, Local Tide’s signature crab roll!
Wasn't great for the price, an 18 dollar sandwich should include a side I feel. Fries aren't fries but weren't bad. Won't go back but it wasn't terrible.
Rock fish bahn mi for takeaway, best sandwich in Seattle. Fresh home made chips and great service. Favorite new local seafood restaurant in Ballard, will be back!
5 star just to support local business. Attention to the owner: please use less pepper on salt&pepper fries. Thank you
Read about this spot on Eater, and wanted to check it out. Nice looking place. Good service, and the food was super tasty.
I recommend the rockfish banh mi
and the shrimp toast, and the salt and pepper fries… you get it.
Salads are top notch. Staff is super friendly and you can take the food nextdoor to Aslan brewery.
This was an interesting place. The service was great, the main cashier worked both the floor as well as the counter. He gave great customer service. The band me sandwich was delicate and flavorful and tasty. The problem came with the fries and the Dover nuggets. Both were a bit overcooked and the fries, despite being called salt and pepper fries, were under seasoned. It’s not that they were bad it’s just they usually could’ve been better. I’ll go back to try some other stuff. Very much worth the trip for that. Also it might make more sense to go into the brewery next-door and then order the food from there. That’s what I do if I went again.
I had a little bit of everything. Crab roll was excellent on the brioche bun. Dover nuggets were crispy and fresh. The tarter sauce was one of the best I've had. Salt and Pepper home fries came in a huge portion enough for 3 guys. Shrimp toast was something I've never had but taste good.
Local Tide is a great seafood spot in fremont. Great service, amazing food, and a brewery next door that you can order beer from. What’s not to love
A great lunch. We had the Salmon House, Shrimp Toast, and chowder. It was all amazing!
Came near closing and there was no line- we took our food into aslan brewing company next door. Both were amazing! The rockfish sandwich was delicious
My wife and I had been hiking in Discovery Park and swung by here for lunch. Great service, first off, very welcoming. The chowder they had was amazing, so much great flavor on a cool day, really hit the spot. The nuggets and fried oysters were also amazing. If you are near here in your travels, it is worth the stop. I hope to visit again!
If you are ever in the Fremont area, please do yourself a favor and visit this spot. After having tried most of the menu, I fully believe that there is something for everyone to enjoy. It is evident that an abundant amount of thought, care, creativity, and passion are put into the dishes that are served here. To say the dishes are fresh and delicious would be an understatement.
In combination with an incredibly attentive, welcoming, and friendly staff, Local Tide has proved time and time again that they truly care about every patron's experience. Needless to say, I will be returning as often as I am able, and am hoping that Local Tide will continue to serve our locals for many years to come.
Got the Crab Rolls and deep fried oysters. Food was fantastic. Great flavor and texture. Oysters were crispy and light, not heavy and oily. Staff were super friendly, which made the difference. Thank you!
Got the rockfish sandwich and shrimp toast. Super fresh and tasty!! Would definitely recommend 😊
We just happened to pop in because our first choice restaurant had a long wait - what a great find! The salmon salad, sandwich and the dove nuggets were great. Service was super quick and friendly - will be back to try crab roll!
Great service, cool vibe where you order at the front. The salmon sandwich was great but think I liked the fried fish sandwich even better.
Do yourself a favor and get to Local Tide! Ever since I discovered Local Tide, it has become a go to spot of mine. I usually visit once a week and get the albacore tuna sandwich (my favorite), but everything I have tried on the menu has been amazing including the home fries, dover sole nuggets, and the fried oysters. I don't eat pork, but my husband has tried the shrimp toast, rockfish bowl and salmon teriyaki bowl and he has also enjoyed these even though he's not a big seafood fan. The quality of the seafood is amazing and you can tell it is always fresh. Truly some of the best food PNW has to offer! Make a visit, you won't regret it!
I've never eaten inside Local Tide, but I have picked up to-go twice and it is always very fast and the quality is consistent. Both times we have been the same guy has given us our food and he is always very welcoming and nice.
I’ve only been once but my experience was great! The food was flavorful and fresh and the space for dining was really clean and open. They also have outdoor space to eat! I’d highly recommend Local Tide!
The fried fish sandwich was delicious, I added some lemon and it was amazing! I loved the place so much I bought a hat. The service was fantastic, everyone seemed happy about the place and proud to serve their food
Delicious fried dover sole sandwich and homemade chips; a cool modern, comfortable, relaxed vibe; and friendly staff. A great stop in Fremont!
Everything we got was delicious, and service was great. It gets a bit crowded since the place is popular, and for good reason. If you go during peak hours, be ready for a line though. Definitely recommend!
I am so obsessed with this place. I wish it wasn’t as good as it was. The hype is well deserved. The crab roll is incredible but honestly the fries are TO DIE FOR. Can’t wait to return.
It is good food and good service. It's worth a visit. I personally wouldn't go back to eat here, but that's only because there are SO many options.
Brought my kids for the first time. Food was delicious and service was spot on. Love supporting local. Definitely will be back.
Went a couple times and was very happy with my experience both times! Super friendly staff and the food was great! Recommend the rockfish sandwich.
You can't go wrong ordering anything on the menu. The shrimp toast is the best thing I ever put in my mouth.
Fantastic seafood in a fun atmosphere. The rockfish sandwich was a great take on a banh mi, and could be my new favorite in the city. The clam chowder my partner had was reported to be the best ever. I nearly lost a hand trying a bite, so I'm taking her word for it. The fries are perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside with just the right amount of salt. This is the spot for seafood as far as I'm concerned. Will be back, soon for more!
Delicious and authentic definitely worth going further afield to try and getting out of the touristy pike market to get some very tasty seafood. I had the oysters and salt and pepper potatoes and my daughter had the salmon sando. Excellent. We didn't feel like cramming inside as it was nice but there are places to sit down all around.
Best low key seafood spot I’ve ever been to. Highly recommend the shrimp toast and chowder. Never had any chowder like it, almost like a seafood pot pie filling. Sounds weird but is a must try and has big old whole clams in it. Imagine 5 star seafood Resturant quality but in a way more accessible form. Plus you can eat it all right next door at Aslan Brewing if the dine in area is too crowded.
Super casual vibe spot, food made with great quality ingredients! I am a big fan of the super flavorful smash burger (under $10). The "side" salad here is always s o fresh, and a big sized portion.
I am a fan of the interior layout of this spot - order yourself at the front counter, and self seating at beautiful hardwood tables. So laid back, and the front desk folks are attentive and friendly. The music is upbeat, smooth, often a hip hop vibe. Fun and bright interior, a lot of natural wood, shiny stainless steel open kitchen, and some fun neon signs.
There are wheat-free options for the gluten-intolerant folks like me (rockfish bowl, salmon salad, house salad, home fries, and probably more.)
This place is awesome. I came because I was craving fish and the menu looked very tasty. I'm usually skeptical about seafood sandwiches, but decided to give it a try. I also took a gamble in taking a friend who just moved into town, instead of going to a "known" place. All reservations went out the window when I took my first bite of that rockfish bahn mi. Friend had an albacore tuna sando that was part of the specials. We also had fried oysters, also part of the special. Everything was just so good. To top it off, the staff is super friendly and provide a very attentive and delightful service. 10/10 will come back and spread the word.
Chill place with great seafood and wine. Regular (for a european) sized meals. Friendly and welcoming staff.
It was small and kinda pricey.
My salmon BLT was tasty and under &20. My daughter ordered the crab roll.($30) Which did have fresh crab, on a bread roll. The drinks in the cooler were limited. No soda dispenser.
Amazing food. You see the dedication to quality. Name the place well. Seriously supporting local seafood producers. Great service. Clean. Respectful. Will come back again.
Tasty seafood dishes - my girlfriend and I shared the fries, shrimp toast, and salmon sandwich. The fries were more of a home fry style - they're reminiscent of the skins and ins at Mean Sandwich if you've been (but without the skins). They weren't uniformly crispy but a softer potato chunk is nice from time to time for variety.
The shrimp toast was impressively juicy, and the sweet mayo they served with it reminded me of Chinese honey walnut prawns in a great way.
The salmon sandwich was really good - I was very intrigued by how the salmon was cooked as it was extremely even and done more on the rare side with no color, it looked like it may have been done sous vide? Very well balanced with the lettuce, pickled onion, and sauce.
I'm being perhaps a hair harsh with four stars since while it was all quite delicious, I don't think I'd necessarily go out to Fremont to get it, but if you're in the area you should definitely go.
Overall, it seems like fish is good but the other stuff is only ok. Rockfish bowl was really good, healthy and tasty. Fried oysters were too salty, the oysters were a bit sandy and just a bit too fishy. The drinks there I thought were homemade but are just bottled - the dragonfruit & mango lemon water just tasted like water with artificial sweetener.
Lastly as a note if you're looking for crab roll it's a weekend special so they only have it Friday - Sunday.
Woman at register, brunette, young, attractive, was rude and dismissive. Everyone else was friendly, attentive and ask how was my lunch. Great place, great food...mostly great staff.
Thanks. Had many things from Loca Tide, always delicious.
Local Tide (LT) is my favorite place to eat in Seattle, by far. The location is perfect (in Fremont) and the restaurant is a happy place, both inside and outside, with good vibes and people :) It’s right next door to Aslan Brewing Company, where you can also order and eat LT food! The LT seafood is amazing - the fish and shellfish are fresh and LOCAL! So far, I especially love the clam chowder, crab rolls, salmon BLT, salmon teriyaki, and smash burger (btw they make great burgers and potato chips)! I’m excited to try the rockfish banh mi sandwich next. I’m certain I’ll love every item I try there. LT food is always fresh, healthy, delicious and worth it! I recommend LT to everyone :)
This is an awesome casual but a tiny bit upscale seafood lunch spot. Quality food and super tasty & light. First time going and I will 100% be back.
Came here for brunch and left very satisfied. While the salmon sandwich, crab roll, and chowder were all good. Our party unanimously agreed the rock fish banh mi sandwich was the star of the show. If you want seafood and good bread this is the place!
Good food
We got Veggie Sandwich, Rockfish Banh Mi and Fish Sando. And we shared the potatoes. They were all fantastic, the vegetables were so fresh tasting as well
Really great food and menu! My only note is it’s a little pricy but it’s great for a quick bite in Fremont. The vegetable sandwich was awesome!
Such a great find! The crab roll was excellent. Such a great presentation as well. The civiche was on point in every way.
Excellent salmon sandwich and good chowder. but cramped, noisy & uncomfortable.
Favorite place for tasty fishwiches and fries like no other in Seattle.
5 stars for the vibe. The owner (maybe?) was sitting nearby and struck up a chat with my sister and I. That kind of interaction holds a lot of value for me. The food was tasty and they have a cool partnership with the brewery next door. Meet up at Local Tide for an intimate hang with good friends. And then head next door to Aslan Brewing for fresh brews.
Ate the chowder with an order of salt & pepper fries. The fries were good, the chowder was meh. A thick taupe colored solution with fresh clams in shell and peas, I wouldn't order the soup again. Friendly staff and good service though.
Great food. Great service. What more can you ask for?
The fried fish sandwich is amazing and just cause they’re known for seafood doesn’t mean they don’t deliver on everything else too. The veggie sandwich is my go to and honestly one of the best I’ve had!
This place was really delicious. I came for the crab roll but it was only a Saturday item so left with the salmon sandwich. The salmon was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The chips were delicious but I would say a bit spicy. Can’t wait to go back on a Saturday.
We were having a lazy Saturday in and needed something delicious for dinner so we landed on picking up from Local Tide. The three of us got two chowders, the salmon salad (perfection!), Dover nuggets (served with the most delicious dill tartar sauce), fried oysters, and bahn mi sandwich. Tons of food! All cooked to perfection and in sizeable portions. We may just be adding this into the weekly rotation, a crime not to.
Really excellent, sustainable and local seafood with casual vibes. I got the rockfish bowl, which was perfectly seasoned and every component played well together. Their house pilsner aint too bad either. Love the mission, definitely will be coming back.
Great tasting food that came out fast.
I got the veggie sandwich and tried the clam chowder.
The clam chowder has whole clams that you have to take apart yourself and they don't bring a knife with it sooo ya it's a bit of a challenge 🤷♂️ tastes great though.
The veggie sandwich was super good and had sprouts, and grilled vaggies, not supper filling, didn't have any real protein in it.
Also they left the door open when it was below freezing outside and it got super cold...
WOW!
We stayed downtown weren’t impressed with the food so we went outside the city to see how it was.
WE SHOULD HAVE STARTED HERE! Will be our first stop when we come back.
This was the BEST food we had during our stay in Seattle.
The shrimp toast was BOMB! And the butter sauce was sweet and surprisingly absolutely delicious. Beware. The hot dipping sauce they give you is H O T!
My boyfriend got the crab roll and it was STUFFED with crab which was awesome.
I got the salmon BLT and it was simple but fresh sandwich.
They make their chips in house and the sour cream and onion flavor is out of this world. It doesn’t taste like sour cream and onion but in the best way.
The chocolate pie wasn’t my fave and the drink selection was very slim but that was the only down fall about this place.
The employees were very informative & had an awesome vibe.
Fair warning, if they tell you they have outdoor seating in the winter. Don’t listen. It’s strictly for warm weather conditions.
MUST EAT HERE. As good as Seattle food scene is... This one knocks us out every time. Unbelievable chowder unlike any you've had. 10s all across the menu but have the chowder no matter what else you do.
I literally crave the Veggie Sando and Smoked Salmon Belly Dip every week. SO BOMB. Service is always very welcoming and relaxed, and I like that the space feels like one I can enjoy with a bunch of friends over beers, but is also chill enough that I can bring my laptop and work while I munch. Never change <3
Delicious smash burger from an amazing establishment. The bread pudding was to die for.
Came for the crab rolls, found out they only sell on Friday Saturday and Sunday, got fish and chips... point on. Make sure you ask for the homemade chili sauce.... it slaps Great customer service.
Hung around Seattle for these crab rolls... totally worth the wait... a must have when in Seattle. I love this place. Great food and friendly service
Oh my goodness this place is amazing! The owner is passionate about what he does and takes a lot of pride in the entire place, from the food to the customer service. But especially the food. So delicious! AND they have GLUTEN FREE BUNS!! It’s not an option when you’re checking out online but I emailed them (and got a quick reply), and just added it to the notes in my order. I got a gluten free crab roll and... WOW! The crab is brought in fresh day of, so the number of rolls is limited. My friend got a salmon sandwich and it looked great and he said it tasted fantastic too. We also got the home fries, they were perfectly cooked with crispy skin pieces too. All in all it’s a great place and we will definitely be returning.
The crab roll was out of this world. So was the clam chowder - they had a unique take on the classic dish, but it was much appreciated. Absolutely delicious all around. I will be back.
We had carry out from Local Tide for lunch recently. I had the salmon BLT and my wife the salmon salad. The flavor was really good, it was prepared quickly and staff friendly. While the servings are a good portion the price was still a little high for Seattle. I'm really happy I tried it and would go back, but will not be seeking it out regularly.
One of best crab sandwiches I have ever had! Also their fish sandwich was worth to try! Definitely will come back to try other dishes!
This amazing little place is cooking way above its pay grade! The seafood was absolutely fresh and perfectly cooked and the seasoning and accompanying veggies etc, truly inventive. (Pro tip: try the rockfish bowl) The staff was also super friendly
Awesome vibe, great food!!! Have been there twice now and will continue to make it a staple. Switched up my fave dover nuggets for the fried fish sandwich, absolutely delicious. Can't wait to try the crab roll they r famous for (just wasn't avail today).
Awsome places, really good attention, i gonna need back when i return to Seattle
Great flavors and service. Order at the kiosk and they bring it to your table. Salmon dish I ordered had a couple missed bones but overall delicious
10/10 in all but the potatoes are to die for.
The rockfish sandwich is so awesome; a very unique marriage of Asian flavors and local seafood. The sandwich bursts with a mouthful of diff flavors.
Your senses gets further appeased with the freshness and crunch of the different veggies.
The moistness of the sandwich roll absorbs all the diff flavor of ingredients used for the brines and sauces. The staff is extremely friendly and pleasant which makes the dining experience more enjoyable.
Best place for lunch in Seattle.
Such a great experience at Local Tide. I had the salmon sandwich and the shrimp toast. The salmon was deep red in color and matched perfectly with the brioche, butter lettuce and tartar. I have never had shrimp toast before and whatever expectations I had were surpassed - with a bit of lemon it was too good. Short wait and super friendly staff. May have to wait in line one of these weekends and try to get a crab roll
Amazing - rockfish sandwich👌🏻. Service is awesome too …
Amazing food! Vibes are a perfect blend of chill yet sophisticated. Definitely will be back! The service was awesome too.
Food was delicious, we had the salmon blt, the smash burger and the chowder! Service was 10/10, you can tell everyone here is passionate about their jobs and it made our way experience so great! Cant recommend this place enough! We saw the salads and they looked amazing tooo!
Hands down best fish sandwiches in Seattle! How they make the classic fried fish sandwich non greasy is beyond me but I could honestly eat five of them in one sitting! On top of the delicious food, I love their concept of local and sustainable ingredients. Thankful I finally have a place to bring out of town guests for amazing seafood in Seattle!
Enjoyed the Dover Nuggets, The Rockfish Banh Mi, and the Shrimp Toast, along with the local pilsner they had collaborated with a local brewery on. Everything was fantastic, including the staff who was so enjoyable to talk to. Will definitely be coming back here again!
It's been days since my visit and still when I close my eyes I can taste the rockfish Bánh mì sandwich. One of the greatest bites of food I've ever had! It has a quaint atmosphere, delightful staff, and a great selection of beverages as well.
This is by FAR The Best seafood restaurant in Seattle. Very comfortable and clean space and the service is impeccable. I suggest you try everything on the menu. Everything is good and I guarantee you will be back again and again!!! We heard about this new restaurant and flew down from Alaska to try it and it was worth every penny!!! We will be back!! I wish we had one in anchorage!!! Just look at the photos they speak for themselves.
All the Seattle news articles say, check out the other menu items. And this is a fact. Started with the Salmon Sandro a few months ago. Amazing! Got my hands on the crab roll. Out of this world. Home fries were incredible. Everything on this menu is worth eating. I’d also highly recommend following them on Social to take advantage of their pop ups with local guest chefs
Legit the best casual lunch restaurant in Seattle. I recommend the Albacore Tuna Sandwich.
Delicious, high quality food in a laid-back setting.
I want to buy their seasonings on sale!
Best burger I've had in allllll of the Emerald City! Dethroned Quinn's, in my fat-kid-food-is-my-love-language heart today. Spectacular. I also had the shrimp toast and it was just as delicious. Perfectly fried, not too greasy, just really really good. Will most definitely be coming back here again!
It was decent tasting but overpriced for what you get.
Salmon sandwich was tiny, and for some reason salmon was freezing cold. Guy told me that's just the receipt but I dunno... Would have been better warm.
Just wow! We ordered as much as we could because we've heard a lot about this place. Literally, nothing disappointed.
The Shrimp Toast is perfect hangover food, the rockfish banh mi had a perfect balance of acidity and freshness, the clam chowder was thick and creamy without being a paste (actually had clams in the shell?!?), the rockfish nuggets were crispy without being salty. The pils collab with Aslan was a perfect balance with the richness of the food.
The service was on point and staff friendly.
Highly recommend this place.
I can’t say it enough times this is the best restaurant I have ever been too. I’ve been back 5 times and each time it gets better. When you go getting the shrimp toast is an absolute must. It bursts with flavor and is easily one of the best things I have ever eaten. If you decide to go on the weekend make sure to get the Crab Sandwich. The bun is perfect and they give you a full Dungeness Crab.
The crab roll is amazing - life-changing even. Shrimp toast, salmon BLT, and Rockfish Bahn Mi are also superb. Few, but very solid options for local beer. Love this place!
Such a great atmosphere, super tasty food, good beer, what else can you ask for?
Food is absolutely insane. Service is amazing. This place doesn’t miss. Ordered way too much and had zero regrets. Fish sandwich, salmon sandwich, salt and pepper fries, dover nuggets, shrimp toast - everything was phenomenal. The fish is incredibly fresh, as are the sauces and sides. The vibe is on point. Great food, ambiance, music, art, service - complete package. Shoutout to the guys running this spot. Will 1000000% be back.
The design and ambiance is perfect - clean and functional. The staff are extremely friendly, warm and accommodating. The food was unreal. We finally have amazing seafood sandwiches in a city known for its seafood. Would recommend Local Tide to anyone and everyone - check it out, you won’t be disappointed.
This place is the real deal!
We ordered their Crab Roll (avail in limited quantity each day - get there early!), fried fish sandwich, house chips, and slice of lemon curd pie. All of it is worth ordering again! And we will absolutely be back to try other options on the menu.
They're current setup is Covid-friendly with all staff in masks, distancing markers for ordering line, and the fast-casual nature of the place gets people in and out quick (no tables for dine-in currently).
The food, sandwich, beer and service are evenly good
I'm going to keep this short and sweet. Amazing service. Amazing food. I highly recommend!
The best seafood I have ever had. I ate the fried fish sandwich. It was unreal. Next the shrimp toast and once again my mind was blown. My fiancé got the house salmon salad and the salmon was perfect. Local Tide has an great welcoming vibe. I will be back many many more times.
Simple seafood-based menu with creative, incredible flavors in a beautifully designed space. Only ding is that the prices are relatively high for small-ish portions. But everything is super fresh, so you’re paying fir quality here.
This place is a gem! Great people, quality fresh ingredients and delicious menu! P.S. YOU NEED THE CRAB ROLL IN YOUR LIFE
An absolute must visit! The food, service and atmosphere is fantastic. Try the Shrimp Toast, you will not be disappointed!
The place was very cold. It's 50° outside and they keep their front door wide open. The Rockfish sandwich had 4 small (chicken nugget sized) pieces on it with a ton of purple slaw. The fish sandwich was big and very tasty. The place was clean. Employees tend to pay attention to the female customers and ignore everyone else.
Just loved the crab roll. A little on the expensive side though. Also smaller in size do not particularity stomach full.
The crab meat was super delicious. Definitely recommend.
Incredibly delicious, great quality. While I'm down to pay a premium for great quality, and in this current climate restaurants need all the revenue they can get; I can't see how they justify $9.00 shrimp toast that has 4 tiny pieces. That's just now right in my opinion. But it was delicious
Such a delectable treat for lunch today. We enjoyed 2 Dungeness crab rolls and clam chowders today. We read the recent review in The Seattle Times calling the Dungeness crab roll best in the area. We absolutely agree!! The staff is super friendly and obsessive about the customer service and the quality of the food. We loved our lunch!! You will not be disappointed. Exceptional!!
Honestly the place is not bad, but as usual in Seattle it’s extremely overhyped in terms of price ratio quality. The crab was good but I’ve had a lot better and it was quite pricey. The salmon sandwich was quite good but nothing out of this world.
I wouldn’t really go back.
The salmon salad was tasty. The crab roll was delicious, but was only a very modest scoop of crab sitting atop a big butter roll. Didn't leave satisfied paying $30 for that.
Small good local food joint. They have a quota for how many crab sandwiches they make and sell. So it definitely is fresh but I only gave 4 stars due to having way more bread than crab on my roll. Excited to try the other options!
Dover nuggets, rockfish bahn mi, and the salt and pepper fries are all flawlessly good. I need to go back and try everything else on the menu!
It may be a 'fast food' restaurant, but unique, trendy, clean, with deliciously prepared seafood! Staff very friendly and helpful. Fantastic home fried potatoes! Highly recommended for a quick, hearty meal.
Hip little place to get some food and beer to take home. The crab roll is amazing, the chips are rad, and the salmon blt is on point! Also located in a great part of town with many other unique shops & restaurants nearby.
Had a great experience here. We had a small issue and they were super kind and quickly resolved it. I love how amazing the food is and the staff are very friendly. 10/10 suggest and will be coming back.
GREAT foods, love the shrimp toast! And the clam chowder is amazing. Will visit again soon!
Loved the food and everything was thoughtfully crafted down to the "salt & pepper fries" that are unique even among fried potatoes. Definitely coming back for more!
Crab roll is a decadent treat I will be back to enjoy again. This is the real deal. Not some crab drowning in mayo sauce, the Dungeness crab is front and center the star. Add the clam chowder, (dare I say bisque), and your in PNW seafood nirvana.
Incredible! Land locked Coloradans LOVED this place. Perfect, fresh and class A service!
This place is awesome! Delicious seafood, fresh, and great service. We ordered online and it was read to go when we got there. Got the crab rolls on brioche. So simple but sooooo wonderful and tasty, make sure you got early as they are limited! Can't wait to go back and try the rockfish bahn mi!
Great fried seafood and/or po boys (they don't call them that but that's what they are) and fries
I rarely leave reviews. Seriously. Almost never. But because I could not stop thinking about my meal here I HAD to share.
I cannot rave enough about my experience at Local Tide. Walking into this small eatery and seeing the well crafted aesthetic interior( everything from the lights to the layout) gives you a hint of the thoughtful care and preparation put into the freshest and most delicious food that you’re about to have. But the food! Mmm...lets just get into it.
Shrimp Toast: First, let me lend my deepest sympathies for those whose allergies preclude them from eating this delicacy at Local Tide. To miss out on the flaky, crunchy but moist, savory and sweet, perfect bites of deliciousness that is their shrimp toast is unfathomable. But for those of us lucky enough to consume these golden brown pockets of shrimp perfection—be smart and order two! Trust me on this.
Salmon Sandwich: I have to admit that salmon usually juuuust misses the mark for me. Which is why I did not order this and instead opted for a bite of my friend’s. Again, be smart and learn from my mistakes. Order. The salmon. Sandwich. Not only did this salmon check every box—it had me second guessing all my preferences in life. The salmon flaked perfectly without being the least bit dry and worked in harmony with the sauce and pickled onions. Yes. Pickled onions. And I know—I know what you’re thinking because I thought it too. Sounds...different...but I promise it added that well portioned zing needed to balance the rich velvet texture of the salmon and fluffy brioche buns, hun.
Aside from enviously eyeing my friend’s sando choice I had *drum roll*....
Rockfish Bahn Mi!: This sandwich came out with an attitude and something to prove. Not to be outdone, this sassy betch sang and danced across my tastebuds like Beyoncé at Coachella—hittin’ all the notes without missing a beat. The Rockfish married with pork fat (because why not, right?!) felt natural and unforced. All the bahn mi faves made an appearance; cucumbers, chili’s, sweet pickled cabbage and carrots, cilantro, and HOUSE mayo. But why stop there? Fresh flavors of mint and dill had a serious Jada Pinkett Smith level entanglement with the purple and green shiso which made every rich, sweet, savory, spicy, and tangy bite taste...like happiness.
So fair warning—if you see a young woman in the corner with eyes closed, head thrown back thanking whatever Gods may be with a praise dance for the bahn mi in hand—yes, that’s me and yes, I’m officially a Local Tide STAN!
I was a bit hesitant I made a mistake paying $20 for one sandwich until I took my first bite. This is without a doubt the best crab roll sandwich I have ever had in my life. The freshly made onion chive potato chips were equally amazing.
Local Tide does seafood right. The asian clam soup blew my mind. Cannot recommend enough!!!!!
Rockfish banh mi is the best banh mi I have ever had in the US. Period! All the ingredients are combined perfectly creating a great flavor! Dill goes very well with fish. Good job guys!! I'll definitely come back for more.
Amazing food and a simple menu. The rockfish sandwich was great and it is basically a banh mi with fish. Make sure to get the salt and pepper fries.
My new favorite spot for fresh seafood with a particular touch of spices and veggies in Fremont. I love the food, the atmosphere and the care with which every dish is elaborated.
The food was amazing and the service was excellent. We had clam chowder and the rock fish salad. Everything tastes so fresh and delicious.
Great food fast! Healthy and yummy. Ordered veggie sandwich and it was totally delicious. Will come back and order salmon BLT sans bacon. Great option for fremont! Welcome to neighborhood!!!!
Treat yo self 2021 means coming here for a Rockfish Bahn Mi. I’ve never had anything less than delicious here and the staff is super nice!
I arrived a little early for my almost weekly take out order and Victor gave me a can of their custom Pilsner from Aslan brewing next door. Very tasty, thanks Victor!
I wish I could remember the chef’s name because he’s usually the one there cooking up the order and he consistently does a great job on everything.
This has been my go to for Covid takeout!
This place is amazing. If you’re in Seattle, you absolutely have to put this on your go to list. Fresh seafood and delicious and unique dishes. Definitely get the shrimp toast!
Wow. All of it. Sammies. Specials. Made by hand made fresh. Amazing.
The most innovative food concept in Seattle at the moment. Authentic staff, fresh ingredients, season menu. This place is small, real, and perfect.
If you haven’t eaten at Local Tide and you live in Seattle, I’m not sure what you’re doing.
AMAZING smashed burger and fries! They made these basic combo to another level. Incredibly juicy burger meat with soft and crispy fried potatoes. It’s now the my new best burger of all!
AMAZING! Best seafood sandwich in the lower 48. The food was so fresh. We made an unusual request to sub salmon for the rockfish on the bahn mi and it was EPIC!
Great sandwiches, and beer selection from Aslan brewery next door! Mostly rating 4 instead of 5, because I missed out on the crab sandwich quota for the day and had to settle for the rockfish banh mi ( which was good)
One of the best places to eat in Seattle. Crab Roll is incredible. Fried Fish Sandwich is A++. Staff is always friendly. Thankful to have a place like this in the neighborhood!!
Very friendly and professional staff. We got hooked on the rockfish bowls and Dover bites.
Great fresh food and great service. Definitely a place to try on the Fremont neighborhood
Cool and delicious place, fresh fish and good hand in kitchen.
Tried a bunch of stuff and it was all great: shrimp toast, fried oysters, tuna. All highly recommended.
Sustainably sourced and absolutely delicious. Probably some the best clean and simple seafood I've had in Seattle. Super welcoming and friendly team, an awesome addition to the Fremont neighborhood.
Friendly staff. Tasty, well-presented, imaginative food. You won't be overwhelmed with lots of choices but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Prices reasonable for Seattle.
Great service and amazing fish sandwich. I'll visit again for sure.
Superb food. Very friendly. Astronomical prices. $27 for a lunch sandwich that is for one person and is barely filling. $18 for a side of fish fries. Both great but woof!
Tuna sandwich was amazing. Great drink selection. Perfect spot for a quick bite.
Came into the city for a job interview. This restaurant is really selling it for me!
The salmon BLT was probably the best BLT I've had. Tasty!
Food was fantastic! Super cool, laid back vibe
Absolutely incredible food. Easily one of my new favorite restaurants. Everything I've had is fresh, unique, and ridiculously tasty.
Salmon fillet sandwich was perfect - not overcooked. Zingy tarter sauce. Rockfish bahn mi was also great with refreshing greens.
The Shrimp Toast was out of this world. Absolutely bomb. The guys running the place are super friendly and are perfectionists so you know it's always going to be good.
We had Rockfish bowl, salad, and Rockfish sandwich. All very fresh and delicious. A bit on the spicier side.
Great fish, good service, personable staff.
One of the best seared tuna sandos I've ever had. Great rockfish bahn mi and dover nuggets too
The shrimp toast is not your average critter fritter. Look out for that seasonal Dungeness crab roll that will beat the jeepers creepers out of you!
Just visited for the first time, with coworkers, and had the opportunity to taste several amazing dishes. I'm very impressed!
Randomly found this place walking around looking for lunch. Super good. The rockfish Sandwich was extremely tasty. Highly recommend!
Creatively delicious food. Not typical style, but that's what makes it very good. Also service was very friendly and fast.
Stopped by for lunch and ordered the rockfish and salmon sandwiches. Both were some of the best seafood I’ve ever eaten! Will definitely be going back!
This place is great. Awesome, friendly service and creative food that is fresh, hip and oh so tasty. I’m not even sure what the shrimp toast is made out of but I want more of it!
I’ve had everything on the menu and several items twice. It was ALL absurdly delicious every. single. time. Not only is the food great, the owner and staff are superb as well. Don’t forget to order a slice of pie! Only thing I would change is that the when you order a slice of pie, you get a whole pie.
a bit pricey but very good and incredibly fresh
Absolutely delicious! Nice atmosphere and friendly staff!
Seafood meets comfort food, with incredible sides and impeccable hospitality. You'll want to return again and again to try all the menu items!
Got the salmon, rockfish sandwich, fries & shrimp toast. Absolutely juicy and tender. Clean environment, cozy music.
Amazing food — my family are foodies, and we can’t stop going Local Tide. Tight menu — fresh, thoughtful and absolutely delicious — and something for everyone’s food preferences!
Loved their chowder! Full of clams. Nice fresh seafood and fun atmosphere
It’s what the people want.
Salad was full of really tasty ingredients. The salmon on the side of the salad was a bit dry though.
Incredible food. Fresh and tasty. Such a cool vibe. Def recommend!
The food was good, but not the best in the world!
The rockfish Bahn Mi is where it is at!
The fried fish sandwich is really great as well.
The salad was okay, the poached salmon was not executed that well and was a tad too fishy.
As an acclaimed food critic, I don’t throw around “hella good” lightly. But, every once in a while I simply can’t help but to utter the phrase.
Local tide is hella good. Get the potatoes. Get the fried fish sandwich. Or just get anything because it’a all very good.
Crab rolls are amazing, but give the fried fish sandwich a try. I think it's the best on an already fantastic menu.
Great fresh food made by awesome people. I had the salmon burger this time and definitely will be back to try everything else on the menu.
Such an incredible shop! Some super tasty bites all locally and sustainably sourced. I love the design and aesthetic as well is so inviting and has amazing touches throughout.

Got the shrimp toast and potatoes, loved both of them. I've been back a few times and every entree knocks my socks off. The salmon salad, blackened cod, and oyster po boy are delicious. The ingredients are really fresh and high quality.
Absolutely wild, the salmon salad was an absolute pleasure. Very reasonable pricing for the top notch quality coming out of this kitchen. Service here is very personable and helpful. Absolute must stop for don't.
Salmon Belly Dip!
Seared albacore tuna!
The most amazing meal I’ve had in Seattle. The Rockfish bowl was so satisfying, nutritious, and fresh.
(Translation) I had a salmon sandwich
A fresh and juicy piece of steak between soft buns with lettuce and dressing.
Salmon house salad also looked appetizing, I'll take it next time.
