Reviews of Jack's Fish Spot
Jack C.S. W
Experienced the best clam chowder of my life here.
This is the kind of place that truly elevates the reputation of the market place and the city. Great food, great vibe, great local sensation.
Great Dungeness crab 🦀, best clam chowder ever, not the best tuna steak (rough). Fries don't look good, but tasted great.
This is the perfect spot to grab a quick afternoon bite.
Choverine
Most wonderful eating experience. Loved the whole vibe. Clam chowder was savory. The fish tacos were crunchy and the sauce was delicous. My wife had the fried trout and fries. Definitely recommend if you are a foodie.

I went searching around for the best Clam Chowder, friendly, clean restaurant. So you see my rating? Sorry I don’t have any pictures from this restaurant. Must have gotten deleted in my exploring of Seattle. Thank you for the best chowder In the city !!!! Hope y’all like my review. Sorry no pictures from this restaurant but you will find these pictures from the area.

The best chowder and fried oysters in the city!
Jack’s chowder is so rich and creamy. Every time I go to Pike Place i make a special stop to Jack’s. I send all my visitors to Jack’s if they are looking for any PNW seafood. I highly recommend if you don’t want to wait in the crazy Pike Place chowder line to try Jack’s. Their seafood is so fresh and yummy!

Recommended by another local vendor as they didn’t sell fish and chips. This place is amazing! Light breading, perfectly fried, flaky and delicious perfection! The fresh cut French fries make this the ultimate fish and chips experience! So much better than some of the sit down restaurants on Pike!
Ahmed Kira
Amazing salmon! And the price! What inflation???? And you truly feel like you're in a proper fish market. Garlic fries are true garlic fries with full bits of garlic, AND SPICY!!! Come for the salmon. Only downside is seating. You'll likely need to walk around the market to find a place to sit and eat.
Rebecca Blanco
Super yummy food. It's reasonably priced being so close to Pike Place Market. Tuesday I was looking for a place that served chowder and I found Jack's Fish Spot. Tasty chowder but a little lukewarm. Impressed enough with the flavor that I went back Thursday. This time I got the cod fish and chips. The portion of fish was a little small but it was big on flavor.

A nice spot to grab some fish and chips in Pike Place Market. Fish was crispy, hot, and the tartar sauce really compliments everything. Fries are okay. They don't have too many tables so you might have to just stand and eat.
JB
Delicious!! Yesterday I had the Halibut (pictured) - so meaty and FRESH. Today I had the Cod - flaky and moist. Each order is cooked to order. A definite stop at Pike Place.

This place is it.
Best Chowder on the west coast.
Very Good oysters.
16 day trip from California to Washington
This chowder beats the chowder Bowl at Nye Beach Oregon
Better than Mo’s.
This chowder is better than Pikes chowder.
I will be back to try more oysters and chowder salmon, tuna and scallops.
Recognize the good value and hard work.
Compare prices. Jack’s is fair to people.

Great tasting and inexpensive!!! I had the grilled salmon. It was so fresh and practically melted in my mouth. But I didn’t care for the mustardy special sauce. I also had the grilled salmon without the sauce. Next time I had the cod fish and chips. Crispy and not too greasy. All good!! I got it for take out and ate on the other side of the Pike market facing the water. There are plenty of places to eat there.
Milad Nabizada
Pub style food served on a bar rail. If that's your vibe then you'll enjoy it. Personally I'd prefer better seating and a cleaner rail. I recommend the chowder poutine because it's pretty unique. Contrary to other reviews, the fries were really nice and crispy. The clams and muscles were average.
Jason Ernst
Great copper river salmon (in season May/June) and trout. Other offerings looked amazing too. Worth the time and $$ to have some delicious seafood from a well known place
Kevin Mok
Seafood was fresh. Clam chowder was solid, although I feel like it was a potato soup rather than clam. Mussels and clam was addictive and delicious. Oysters were alright, too much shell remain.
Favorite-steamed mussels and clams
David MacGuidwin
Snuck in for a quick lunch before heading out of town. Oysters and their fish sandwich were so good I legit bought a hat from the place to remember the moment. For all the bustle around the guys working there were chill and friendly
Drea Jo
Awesome! Worth the wait. Get the crab! And the soup, and the fish tacos. Mmmm 😋
Sitting in the market eating the crab is awesome. Just wash your hands first.
Michelle Bryant
They have become inconsistent. Initially, I would go there for a whole trout with fries and it was a great meal. As you can see with my recent pictures. This was a baby trout that should have been thrown back in the ocean or change the menu and let the loyal customers know what it is.
Same with the grill salmon, the portion sizes are either decent or child size. And the salmon is good but the size is a gamble. They should be consistent with size and taste. The picture of the trout was cooked like jerky. SUPER disappointed. Again, I have been purchasing their food for about 6 years. The picture is the food portion before it was ate.

Catch them early before the line goes wild. The first time I tried to grab lunch from there, the line was way too long so I didn't get the chance before my lunch break was over. This time, I made it.
I order one fish taco, one prawn taco, and one northwest poutine for a total of $16.50 before tax and tips. I can confidently say that for the price of $16.50, I was well-fed with leftovers I couldn't finish. The tacos were delicious and the poutine was plentiful. Make sure you eat your poutine first so the fries still crunch.
Ian Juan
Great fish and chips! The fish was amazing and the fries were great. We also got a whole crab which was pretty tasty but the fish and chips were a highlight of the trip
Courtney Tudor
My partner and I enjoyed a late lunch at Jack’s Fish Spot when visiting Pikes Place. We shared the Grilled Salmon Meal and Bowl of Clam Chowder. Great warm meal for a chilly day, additional a very fair price for seafood. Did not anticipate the chowder in a bread bowl (I may missed that on the menu), but fun surprise. Only small thing was the sauce on the salmon was neither of our favorites and would have been okay with it left off. Still will likely be returning!
Dennis LaMaster
Third time I took my family there. It is just so good. It may not seem that Jack's Fish Spot would be that good by the open air nature of the place in the market. We always get our fish and chips there and walk to where we can see the waterfront and enjoy the view and Jack's excellent food. They do great salmon too. My wife loves the fish tacos. This is becoming a family tradition when we come to the Market.
Keilan Freeman
Quick service, good fish and chips.
I had the Pacific cod, and it was fine (3/5). A bit fish-stick esque, yet enjoyable. Certainly had better.
Fries are yummy (5/5). More five guys or in n out style - can taste the potatoes.
Tanya Miller
Went to pikes place today to try the clam chowder. Headed to pike place chowder for the award winning chowder. It was good, but then headed to Jack's fish and chips and had their chowder. Was amazing! Much better flavor and the clams tasted so fresh. Also, had the cod fish and chips...EXCELLENT! as well as the clam steamers with the garlic butter, also EXCELLENT! Service was funny and wanted to squirt us with the water gun cuz we went to try the other chowder which was funny! What a great experience!! Well worth it and the prices were excellent compared to other seafood around the market.
Mia
Ordered clam chowder, the famous salmon plate & halibut & Fries to go.
Clam chowder was delicious! Loved the chicks of clams and they had plenty!
I paid $2.50 extra to upgrade the fries to garlic fries and it’s worth it! Delicious!!!
Not sure if it’s because I had walked 20 mins w food but the salmon was just OK. I was told it was the most popular dish so I think I got a bad one hahaha! It was good but nothing memorable.
The halibut (fish & chips) was not good. Too dry. But the garlic fries was 🔥!
Amber Gabrio
Best cod fish & chips I've had, and at better pricing than the rest of the area from what I saw.
Christo “Sweetness” J.
The main reasons why we chose to eat at Jack's fish spot were because, we heard that the food was good, and the prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was festive. When we arrived, we were surprised to see an empty restaurant. The host asked us where we would like to sit and we chose a booth in the back near a window. The place looked like it was just pulled out of a fifties magazine. The entire restaurant was purple and white, the it was really festive, but not what you would expect from a fifties restaurant. I expected to see a Hispanic theme what we saw was a fifties diner. That wasn't bad I liked the lighting it was neon and all lit up like a Christmas tree. The best thing by far was the attentiveness of the waiter (we were the only customers). As time went on, people started to show up and the place seemed less empty. The prices were wonderful for four people to eat it was roughly forty dollars. Our meals (Janine and I) cost about twenty. Which for the amount of food we were served was great! By the time we were half way through the meal, I couldn't eat another bite! I ordered chicken fajita nachos, served with guacamole. It was delicious I loved every bite. The food was given to us fresh, hot and steamy from the kitchen. My meal cost $10.75, and the dish it was served in, looked like a skillet it was so big. Not bad for the price. Janine ordered Chicken Monterrey, which is grilled chicken breast, topped with ranchero or salsa Verde sauce and cheese. It cost $7.75, and was served simmering in a hot dish with tortillas on the side. .
Rebecca Song
Great raw oysters! Fish tacos are delicious. My friend had the steamed Dungeness crabs. The sitting is cramped but I think that is what makes the whole experience fun! Loved the market vibe. If I was stuck in Seattle, this is where I would get raw oysters. Otherwise go to Oregon northern coast along seaside for best oysters!
Allie Anderson
Pleasantly surprised with the clam chowder. As a new englander I was skeptical it would live up to my expectations. Flavor was great. Clams weren't chewy. Might have been a little potato heavy but I enjoyed it. The fish and chips looked great too but I didn't order them.
H N
Didn’t have to wait in a long line, it was raining, no seating available, had to ask for to go box, then noticed fries or fish had no salt. Borrowed salt from another vendor. Food was okay, fresh but okay. Have had better fish n chips elsewhere.
Titirat Chaolerdtanakij
We came all the way from Vancouver to try oysters here. It was SUPER AWESOME!!!!

This was the first place I landed when I arrived in Seattle and I’ve been back again and again. Definitely a bargain for Pikes Place! Wish there was a little more seating but the set up is fun! I love the Cioppino, salmon, fish n chips, oysters, mussels & clams, shrimp cocktail and more! Service is quick and easy and the food never disappoints! Some of their fresh fish options are pretty reasonable too considering the location. You can’t go wrong at Jack’s!
Jack
Definitely the most authentically Seattle-ly place I visited during my trip, along with the rest of Pike Place market. Pike Place makes you feel you've stepped back in time.
I had fried scallops, steamed clams (no, not steamed hams) and a bowl of chowder, and I loved it all.
The place is almost always choc-a-bloc, extremely lively and noisy, and you will struggle to find a seat, but it's still so worth eating here.
If you're not mad about sea food, you'll probably be put off by the odours. If you are mad about sea food, the smell of a few decomposing mollusks that rolled under the frier a couple of years prior will only add to the authenticity.
Oh, and seriously pay attention to the ticket number calling. The second time I came to Jack's I didn't hear my ticket being called and this lead to a long wait and a very laboured attempt to communicate to the extremely busy staff that I hadn't received my food yet.

My friend and I was recommended this place by a local coffee shop (Ghost alley) after getting scammed by another touristy/pricy clam chowder/lobster roll place in Pike place market. We were absolutely satisfied with the clam chowder and oysters from Jack's Fish Spot and will definitely go again for other seafoods. The clam chowder will be a good pair with sour dough from the bakery nearby. I'm very happy to live close to this place where I can bring my friends whenever they visit Seattle. Seriously, everything was worth the money and service was good too!
Stephanos Trokoudes
Chowder is much better than pikes place chowder where the line is massive! Best chowder in pikes place, ive tried them all. The fish tacos are pretty good and fresh tasting!
Thalia McKamie
Talk about a local hot spot! Funny and personable service with a smile and a water gun. The chowder was rich and peppery. Loved the garlic fries. Sizzle is freaking amazing
C. Young
fish is tasty and well cooked. very little seating at the counter. no other available seating. fries are mediocre.
Triple RRR
We go here every si gle time we visit Seattle and they have never let us down. Always cool people working there and excellent seafood. Whole fried trout and fried oysters are my favorites.
Kevin Below
So much to chose from here, grab your own fish and take it home or go to the grill to have it deep fried for you. Definitely the best fish and chips in seattle. Homemade French fries, best batter on the fish and the fish is so fresh, cooked perfectly. I think Jack's is overlooked becuase this is not the famous fish throwing spot but the fish is just as good.
G C
Love the street style eateries. It is an open kitchen so you'll get to see your food cook on the spot. We ordered the big fish (6 pieces of fried cod) and grilled salmon and both were moist and tasty.
Ashley Brown Pollard
We came upon this place when were checking out the market, the smells lured us over. We ended up ordering Jack's famous grilled salmon with Gretchen secret sauce, which was outstanding. The fish was moist and cooked perfectly and that sauce was wonderful. We also got one of the shrimp cocktails, for only 2 99 why not? The little shrimp or served on a bed of sliced celery. We had never had it that way before but with a cocktail sauce it was an absolute delicious treat. We can't wait to make another trip down to the market just to try some of their other items.
Adam Rosser
No BS, mega fresh fish. Throw some malt vinegar on your chips and call it a day. It was very busy, don’t expect somewhere to sit, if you do get a spot feel lucky.
Had the salmon, chowder, and cod. All fantastic.
Salma Sheriff
Got 8oz clam chowder, 5 fish and chips, and 3 fish tacos for four people. All really good and perfectly cooked.
Karina Asher
You can’t beat the price at Jack’s- $8 for a giant helping of clam chowder in a bread bowl is no joke. The fish and chips were also fantastic. It’s no fancy place but that’s what maintains the authenticity. A must try!
Ya Sabes
This place has great cod! The price is reasonable for Pike Market. You can count on Heber Jimenez to cook your fish fresh while you wait. I got the 3pc combo. I don't like tartar sauce, but Heber insisted I try it. I went back for more! This is not out of a jar! Great food and a large portion!
Ajninja 84
Prices are super good. Fish was a bit small for being a large 5 piece at $10.99. Really fresh flavor nice a crispy batter, tarter sauce was super good. Shrimp cocktail was ok for the price at $2.99. Good place to eat if ur on a budget and dont want to spend an arm and leg at the near by food places.
Howard Sewell
No-nonsense fish joint in the middle of the market. We had the clam chowder, which was on the peppery side but we loved it. Almost always a line and not many places to sit, but a great spot for quick, authentic Seattle lunch.
Art A
The atmosphere is fun and funky, the fried food cooked to order. The fresh seafood to prepare yourself and selection of local oysters was impresive. The crab cocktail was really disappointing. The small amount of crab was over a large amount of shredded celery, which completely obliterated the natural sweet flavor of the freshly prepared crab.
Andre Chang
You should buy whole dungeon crab. It is finger licking good. Fried oyster is also a really good choice it comes with 5 oysters and very good fries. The cramchowder is best with cup. The bread is sour and it will absorve the soup so it is best to get the cup soup not the bread soup. Remember to wash hands before eating. And always use napkins to clean your mouth after eating. After eating crab you may feel pity when looking at the live crab that they have there.
T. Bolt
Fresh seafood, any fresher and you'd have to catch it yourself. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. They do a much better job filleting fish than the grocery store. Prices tend to be more competitive than in the main market itself. I love their salmon jerky. When visiting, bring your cooler, and fill it up at this place. It's the real deal! A generous $2.99 shrimp cocktail
Maria Pope
Great prices for fresh seafood.
Cioppino and raw oysters 👍🏼
Not much space to sit down and eat it though. …
Jacob R
Stopped by Jack's for some quick raw oysters. Growing up the only type of oyster I could stomach was when they were fried. Now if you tell me that there is a place that specializes in raw oysters than I go running, thought Jack's does exactly that I had my oysters within a minute of ordering them, and watched them being shucked. I love how oysters are one of the only seafood where you can almost taste the sea while eating them. If you want to stop for a quick bite definitely go to Jack's.
Emi Ida-Pescud (Poss Cooking)
I was the first customer on weekday . A Gentleman sold Smoked Salmon was Friendly & price was not expensive compared w/ others.
Grilled Salmon - kitchen was seemed like not ready by 11am but Skin was crunchy & nice
Andrea Longinott
Stopped in for a quick bite. Had the NW Poutine aka clam chowder on fries. Was pretty good, hot, fresh. Seating is hard to come by but that’s expected.
Vl16b “vl16b” L
I like their fish and chips a lot - better than the ones I have tried in London. London's fish and chips are bland so the saltiness here is very much welcome.
Ty Battle
Stayed in Seattle for a long weekend...visited Jack's every day while here. A staple and MUST stop for Halibut and Cod. Perfect fish...Perfect fries...'nuf said...
puja sarkar
Busy place for fish and chips. I liked the fish.. however the fish pieces were little too small. Nevertheless they were delicious and very reasonably priced. Would recommend
Prasanth Ala
Yum yum. Eat fried oysters for 1st time and loved it. Fish and chips, 🌮 s' were great …
Tamás Tóth
Ordered grilled tuna. Fish was great, grilled just right, and tasted fantastic. The only issue is that the sides were the majority on the plate. I would rather prefer fish and sides to be present in equal proportion.
Sam Tucker
Edit: tldr; do not order crab salad and fish and chips are now tail cuts.
Truly authentic, from the fishy smells and the fisherman banter, authentic seafood that beats the rest. Expect $9 for cod fish and chips-- not a good deal for the quality of fish being served. Don't skip the secret sauce and add a little malt vinegar.
Edit: cod fish and chips are now end cuts of fillets and are tough, chewy, and kind of disappointing. I'm wondering if the place is under new management because it feels like a completely different place now... I removed a star because we got the crab cocktail which was literally a cup FILLED with plain celery topped with crab. I'm fine with you mixing stuff with the crab, but that is just plain cheap to trick people that way.
suzanne baligad
Highly recommend grilled salmon w/ Gretchen’s sauce. Delicious! Garlic fries are super garlicky and not for the faint at heart.
Sean K
Good place for fish and chips. We ordered fried prawns and battered fish which came with their seasoned fries. Very delicious. We also ordered their clam chowder. Soup was very good but the bread could have been better. The seating is very hard to find, and not well cleaned after other customers. Very noisy place. But that is part of the experience.
Mykola Komarevskyy
Atmospheric place with fresh seafood, Spartan seating, and friendly staff. The steamed mussels and clams were delicious, just as the raw oysters. Garlic fries were okay. Five stars for great seafood and reasonable prices.
Carlos Guillermo Durazo
My first time here was also my first time trying fish and chips, gotta say that this place really got me into it. The wait was maybe 5 minutes but well worth it. The clam chowder was served immediately. Only complain was that there's almost no place to sit, so just come and order to go!
Rashida Kapadia (ORCHID COMPLETE MAKEOVERS)
Absolutely fresh salmon , grilled to perfection. It's just a shop which sells fish so there's just basic sitting arrangement but it's great for a quick and fresh meal
Jeri Simpson
Decent prices for the area.
Only had the raw oysters and tried their chowder.
Both were just okay.
The fried items look great but can't vouch for the taste.
They were a bit slow.
The cashier was very friendly, though.
Jordan Maddox
The freshest quick bite to eat in Pike Place Market. So yummy! Friendly service!
Jenny Huang
It is located in Pike Place Fish Market, which is next to Pike Place Market. It is always a long line, but it is quickly. We ordered clam chowder soup, and it was great! Siemic
V
Absolutely delicious! The best clam chowder. Also tried whole deep fried trout, halibut sandwich, fish and chips.
The vibe and atmosphere is 🔥 special thank you for the staff that is fun, generous and professional.
Derek Fritz
Pretty good seafood at very fair prices, which makes it a great option in Pike Place. The atmosphere is friendly and bustling and orders are served up quick. I tried the cod fish & chips with some clam chowder on the side, all were solid choices. Not a lot of space to dine but it's a fair tradeoff for the convenience factor.
Darnell Kebo
4/3/22: A great local Seattle spot for fresh seafood. Two of us ordered the cod and chips, grilled salmon, and NW Poutine. Everything was delicious. Next time I would order the salmon without the honey mustard sauce, it took away from the salmon which was cooked how I like it - medium rare. Clam chowder is one of the best in the area. Cod was perfectly fried. Very fair pricing.
Jamilah Fields
Quick service. Workers tried to keep line orderly and swift
I could tell seafood was very fresh. Fries were ok
D B
Small little "spot" in Pike Place. Hands down the best salmon I've EVER had. 🐟 They are spendy of course since (1) it's seafood and (2) it's Pike Place, but it's SO worth it. 💲 The ginger mustard that they add with the salmon really makes it. Their Cioppino soup is perfect for those cold, rainy PNW days. 🍲🌧️🧣 They load it up with veggies and clams and it's just delicious. The guys here are always working hard and the times you get to chat with them are always memorable. I adore this place ♥️
Tokyo Addicted
Went in early in the morning. Sat at a stainless steel counter next to the kitchen. Good was cooked to order, fish was fresh, prices were good.
Loved it.
L
Ordered some oysters and tacos. The food is well priced and the tacos were pretty good. However, the oysters were not fresh and tasted weird and slimy…
Nathan Wells
Great spot to grab some authentic fish and chips, expect to wait it us fresh, and don't expect typical fries
Christian West
Great food and SO FRESH!!! You must go there. And the staff was personable without being fake. It was a wonderful experience.
Anthony Schlacks
Quick service, good food. A half dozen of fresh oysters and clam chowder poutine hits the spot real good.
Diego Slinger
Fantastic! $30 for everything
Taylor D'Annunzio
Fish and chips was great. Garlic fries, (chips) with fresh garlic were amazing. Chowder was wonderful. Would definitely recommend.
Philip Ledingham
Fantastic Chowder. Even better when paired with Tiny's Organic cider that you can get just a few steps away under the Pike Place sign.
Erik Rhyne
Can't beat it. Simply, quick, delicious and excellent prices. Love the little seating area right in the middle of the action.
Deidra F
Service was quick, even with long lines. Food was fresh and tasty. Definitely recommend the crab cocktail! I didn't have it but the clam chowder looked and smelled fantastic.
Russell Townshend
Solid fish and chips, however fries were a little overdone. The cod was fresh and tasty.
Alex Garcini
Oysters were fresh and flavorful, and the clam chowder was amazing! The fried trout was crispy and cooked to perfection. Very friendly staff is a huge plus
Lynnette Morales
Fish and chips were fine, but try it for the most amazing tater sauce ever!
H D
Shrimp tacos are okay, but the smoked salmon is amazing.
Allison
Love !!!! The oysters are amazing
Tony Nakamura
Very fun place to be. Salmon and halibut ate awesome. Very fresh and no fight smell. Tuna steak was rare, and it was fantastic. Seattle oysters were a bit disappointing, compared to the ones I had from New Orleans. Cool location. Very crowded.
Roy Linderman
Great fresh seafood made to order many choices from chowder, fish and chips with many types of fish, fresh raw oysters, fresh crab, prawns, shrimp pretty much anything seafood. Not much seating at the place but plenty of places around to sit. Prices are beyond good for the location and freshness of the seafood. Also the service is very good and fast considering the amount of people that come to this place.
andrew sabol
Great fish and chips. They only have cod, ran out of halibut. It was all great.
Christopher Carney
Very good fish n chips. Reasonably priced too. It is my go to when in town.
Alyssa Houston
Accidentally ordered something I couldn’t have and the staff generously gave me a different order. Great place for chowder and seafood. Also the cashier was hilarious!
Lisa Pan
I’m not usually an oyster person, but they are SUPERB here. So fresh! No fishiness at all, just a kiss from the ocean. A light squeeze of lemon and some of the cocktail sauce somehow made it even better. We literally had to came back 2 more times during the day for the oysters.
We also tried the poutine which was decent. Nothing special about the fish and chips though.
Angelina
Great portions and good fries with the cod. The line was long but that's just Pike Place.
Meg K.
My 7 year old and I devoured the chowder and fresh fish tacos! The staff (gent at cashier, gal prepping food) were so kind and genuine...I really appreciated their attention and guidance. Jack's is the best if you're looking for fresh tasty food and people watching if you can get a seat at the counter! Highly recommend!
Ron Stevenson
Got the the sample platter and was excellent. A little pricey for me but now days all things are over priced.
Latoya Robinson
OMG the best food in Seattle. Fresh hot and quick. Prices are great. The clam chowder and muscles were 10 out of 10.
Dallas Hodges
Was hesitant to eat here because of the volume of people, but I pulled it together and it was beyond worth the wait. Good food good employees good experience good memory! This place is an underestimated landmark of Seattle!
Tomasz Zalewski
Good place to have a quick meal, fried fish was ok.
Henry Kimmins
Throughly enjoyed seeing the owners son. He was the highlight of my trip
NYC CowGirl
Fish&Chips done right! Fresh oysters on the half shell rocked with a true brine. Excellent chowder in sourdough roll bowl--not too many potatoes and lots of clams seasoned with experience. Low-key hipster feel as cooks take fresh sliced French fries from plastic bins and call out your number. Don't overlook the fish counter in front. We bought a lovely hunk of halibut for three which coat about $40. Very pleased we did so! They even often preparation aid. No dress code, no reservations, no tablecloths NO BIG DEAL. Well worth a visit.
Aidy O.
Definitely smells like fresh fish; got some fresh fish tacos. It was nice.
Starsha Frederickson
We come here everytime we travel to Seattle/Pike's Market. It was recommended to us from a local who works at Pike's and it doesn't disappoint. Love the fish and chips and chowder. It is fun and funky and reasonably priced.
JU B
We got the fried Salmon and then, because someone appears to have forgotten about their order, an extra order of the fried Shrimp. Both were excellent! Crispy breading, delectable seafood. The Tartar & cocktail sauce were on point. I especially loved the seating arrangement and opportunity to watch the people of Pike Place as you ate your food. Would definitely recommend!
Steve S
Had bowl of chowder; good value at only $5.99. Excellent flavor. Fish taco (cod) was also good and only a few dollars. My son got the grilled salmon and fries and both were delicious and also reasonably priced. Good portions. And no wait unlike several other places in the public market.
Lilian Hu Nguyen
Line here never seems to stop; cashier was very friendly. There are a few counter seats around the venue if you can secure one. Clam chowder was pretty good. Half dozen oysters were not great. Taste was fresh but the man shucking the oysters wasn't very good - there was at least 1-2 small pieces of shell inside every oyster's meat. Glad I wasn't chewing fast or hard. The fish & chips are AMAZING - some of the best we've had. The fish was super fresh and flaky, the breading (believe it was panko) was light and very crispy. The fries were underwhelming, as they were soggy and soft but wow are the fish & chips here something to rave about!

Conclusion: friendly, tasty, and reasonable price. Try their deep fried dishes!
I've been there a few times to try different dishes. I personally enjoyed their deep fried fish and oysters. Most dishes I tried were tasty plus at a reasonable price.
* This was a review based on my personal experience; I acknowledge that every person has unique preferences and taste buds.

Delicious fish and chips, long line went fairly quickly, price is decent. Fish was super fresh, fresh oysters around 1:30 pm (last ones they had) were okay/pretty good. One woman working the distribution was lowkey yelling at people who didn't pick up their orders fast enough - understandably, considering how many people they seemed to be serving.
David Antler
My favorite place for scallops and chips. I've tried a bunch, too. Tartar sauce is especially good. Also great prices and service for bike-up customers such as myself. Lots of open air for safe social distancing.
M N
Fresh fish and crab and oysters on the half shell
Delicious!!
Terri Cobb
Come check it out. Great service and the food is nice.
Michael Stancliff
If you like deep fried fresh fish and fresh seafood then don't bother going anywhere else. Tourists belly up next to locals, pilots and pirates. Come as you are and come hungry. You won't find a more fresh catch on a menu anywhere! There may be a line, but it's quick and worth the wait. This is not a fancy place, but your taste buds couldn't care less!!
Megan Summers
Best hidden gem! We stumbled upon it. It crowded and not always cleaned up but part of the charm is that while you are eating there you feel like you found where the locals go to eat out! The seafood was super fresh and we just sat there pigging out on clams and crabs! DELICIOUS!!!
Addy
Pretty good breaded fish, but the chips were soggy and overdone. Might be an off day so I'd give it another chance.
Extra star for good service and owners who care about customer feedback.
Alexis MacMillan
Great seafood with good prices. A popular place!
John Kim
Good deal on seafood and a fun experience. The fried goods are very freshly crispy. Workers are quintessentially Seattle with good small talk. Raw Oysters are a must have local delicacy. The fish and chips are what brings you back
Ashley Robertson
What an amazing experience! The Clam Chowder and Fosh and Chips were phenomenal.
Samaun Khan
We stopped at jacks during our trip from Wisconsin. The food was amazing and the staff was wonderful. Best clam chowders for my taste buds.
Burton Li
A popular local quick service deep fried seafood place with generous portion and flavoursome seasoning.
Fries were consistently too soggy and the salmon was cooked too well (very hard and chewy).
Lots of potential considering its raw ingredients are of high quality and the place has got popular following. It just baffles me how some of the fundamental cooking skills the restaurant is relying on for most dishes are not done right.
AJ John Kay
One of the filthiest food service places I have seen. The open kitchen hides nothing and you can look behind all the fryers and equipment. From the registers to the display coolers right down to the fryers. This place has not been cleaned in years. The place looked like they oh turn the lights and fryers off with attitude that it will all get dirty again tomorrow. I ordered a five piece fish and chips just to see what I would get. I would say that I got what most awesome fish and chip places would call a one piece. I heard some good reviews about this place but I find nothing more than a terribly run down tourist trap.
Kartika Mediani
Awesome friendly fun, very nice staff!! 10 stars for them! Fish and chips is meh, 1 star, chips are soggy and 2nd time we went there, it was really densely salt coated. Batter was always hard and a little over fried. The fish itself is fresh but unfortunately it's not cooked that well.
Evelyn Calderon
Best clam chowder!!!!! And I've tried many but this one trumps them all. I got the halibut fish and chips and it was tasty. There's a small cozy eating area and you can buy fresh fish right then and there! They also ship to your home!
Nick Miller
This place offers a wide variety of seafood to go, but I will only be reviewing cod n chips and the halibut n chips. The actual cuts of fish are good and fresh, which is expected, and the fries are just fine; however, this place uses a panko breading instead of a beer batter, which decreases the overall quality of the food. Everything else is fine, reasonable price, decent portion, fast service, friendly people. It's worth returning to in my opinion, but the breading on the fish is disappointing.
Jonathan Hodder-Szyszlo
Big market stall, with a great market atmosphere about it. If the fresh fish doesn't attract your attention, the seafood kitchen certainly will. The open air bar stools and counters give you a nice view on the busy work going on, and of the busy market too. As for the food, the fish n chip portions are very small for what you'd expect, but none the less delicious and fresh. The fries were also homemade and fresh cut, so expect a from scratch meal when ordering the seafood. The price is a little bit higher for what the portion sizes dictate, but overall, expect to pay about 10 to 15 dollars on a casual meal right in the heart of Pike Place Market.
Lorenzo Castana
Whole fried yrout and the fish sandwich rock, just like this place!!!
David Sideras
This place is unpretentiously good. We had the crab cocktail and the cod fish and chips. The chips were excellent, as was the fish. There is dill in the tartar sauce which in my mind trends toward gourmet. Extra sauce available upon request. The crab was so fresh and tasty that you should forego the sauce or have it on the side. It was served on a bed of celery which was unusual, but surprisingly good.
Cem Saydam
For basic really good grilled wild salmon, plus fries and green beans, great place. They are proud of their sauce on the salmon, I scraped as much as I can because I like simply grilled salmon perhaps with some salt or lemon juice. Great place, highly recommend it.
John Flynn
Had the Italian seafood chowder and my wife had the Northwest Clam Chowder. Both were excellent and reasonably priced. Find a spot at the counter and enjoy some amazing food. We ate at a more popular chowder place the day before but, Jack's is better.
Tom Heffernan
Great local spot, Jack's daughter was managing when I stopped in today. I can be pretty finicky especially when I'm used to something being a certain way. Maybe it's the heat but I wasn't happy with my cioppino today. When I spoke with her she handled it perfectly. She thanked me for my feedback and offered me something else off the menu. I had the 3 piece fish and chips, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Her expert customer service kept me a very happy customer.
Zack S
Really enjoyed it it was very crowded. I wish there was somewhere else to sit at the counter guess I should have grabbed it togo. Great service and food!
Maritza munoz
Reasonable prices and tasty food. Rapid service. Seating area small and not very clean that's why I didn't give the 5 stars.
Karina Sanchez
The clam chowder was delicious but my sister ordered the grilled salmon and they forgot to include the green beans as well as forks. The fish in the fish tacos and the grilled salmon tasted so fresh!
Johonne Hamilton
Went there twice in one day. Had the grilled salmon it was so good. Everything was fresh made to order. when I come back in town again this will be one of my first spots that I go to.
Viktor Plokhov
In my humble opinion, one of the best places in the market. Try Jake's PRAWN tacos(not to be confused with fish tacos)! They are something special. This is one of the last remaining places that I know, that makes fries out of fresh potatoes and a lot of their seafood was still crawling and swimming this morning. I can't say enough good things about this place. A must try!
Margaret Good
Let me tell you, this is an amazing spot!! We met Sizzle, slingin chowda and putting smiles on faces!! Had to go back 2 days in a row. Thank you!!
Celeste Liberty
Fave fish and chips spot ever! Definitely upgrade to the garlic fries--they're as garlicky as they come. Fish and chips are not a health food, so expect some greasiness. The Cioppinno is definitely worth a try if that's a concern for you. Seating is very limited, but you can always walk down to Victor Steinbrueck Park and watch the cruise ships go by (if it's not raining). Super casual and affordable.
Karthig Balendran
I bring guests from out of town here for lunch when visiting Pike Place. They've pretty much ruined all other fish and chips places in the city for me. The food is delicious and the service is friendly.
An Nguyen
You can get fresh fried seafood for surprising cheap price. I was amazed at the portion for both the fish and chips and the soup.
The oyster was super fresh and there were plenty for me to savor the fresh oyster goodness. Cannot find that price in any restaurant close by.
Seating is limited and bar only.
Definitely will come back here !!!
Update 20151211: come back here and get the shrimp cocktail and oyster. The oyster is still very good but the shrimp cocktail is only 1/3 shrimp and 2/3 celery. Just as a note since I thought the cup is full of shrimp from the look of it.
Khoa Bui
Food was amazing. Definitely get the garlic fries. Fish was friend to perfection. One thing is you MUST go for a walk afterwards. It's definitely filling. Oh the clam chowder was delicious and creamy.
Daniel Ruiz
The food is so good yummy!!! I'm recommend you come eat the place
Sean Gordon
Jacks fish spot is top notch. Fish n chips were great, the fries were a little salty but nbd. Oysters on the half - money. Chowder was solid and I have a high bar for chowder! Two thumbs up!
Tomáš Homola
Great fresh sea food, one of the best fish and chips I ever had!
Tina Kaur
I had my first oysters and loved the freshness! I came back half hour later and had fish n chips. Reasonable prices freshly cooked fresh fish in front of you...simply unbeatable!
Oanh H
Service is really nice
Food was good
Chowder was alright. Really potatoey for my taste. Haddock was great. Combo steamed was good.
Seems to get very busy.
Fengfei Song
A small Chinese restaurant in the market. But it is not bad compared to others over there.
Cheryl Allen
Came here on a Monday evening to celebrate my little sister birthday. The food was great but the service could've been better! Overall, i would recommend and come back.
Beth Whitaker
Took my kid there for a quick lunch on a typical fall day, scored a couple of seats at the counter watching the chief's due their thing. Fun, food was really good (super fresh), and the prices reasonable. If we are back in the area I'd stop again.
Ashton Smith
It is not the best. The fries were the best, fried fish was meh. I think it was probably cooked too long. There is better fish elsewhere. I would go back just for the fries though. Even Iver?, or Ivan? on the pier has better fish.
Taalib Muhammad
While in route to an Alaskan cruise, I stopped at the Pike's Market and encountered Jack's Fish Spot. WOW!!! A lovely young lady offered me some "salmon candy" (sounded gross!), but I gave it a try. WOW again! Delicious smoked salmon with a brown-sugar rub. I've been ordering it by the pound ever since. Jack's customer service (I usually speak to Jack, who is a great guy) is EXCELLENT! They ship me salmon 3000 miles to New York City in vacuum sealed packages (in a stay cold styrofoam box). Well worth the expense. If I'm ever in Seattle again...this will be one of my very first stops! I highly recommend it!!!
Noah Dunning
The people working were friendly and knowledgeable
Paul Bekkers
The food is delicious and well priced!
Chinmay Dashpute
The Clam Chowder in Bread bowl is the best in Pike Place. A must have dish after roaming in the market. The perfect lunch plan for a weekend would be Clam Chowder, Fish Fry from Jack's and a brownie from the Three Girls bakery right in front.
Thomas Chen
fish is too dry, chips r too salty, chowder is ok
Haley Boggess
Had an amazing experience! The fish was so fresh and flavorful and the tartar sauce was some of the best I've had. It definitely has that street food feel with high end restaurant quality in food and service!
Bre Bell
Amazing!! Didn't think they would be better than Ivar's....OMG! Murdered it!! BEST fried salmon I ever had!! Yummy 😋 …
Maryb Isme
The service and food was great.
The oysters were DELICIOUS. Fish and chips were yummy! Fresh cut potatoes. Definitely recommend this place.
Seth Riggins
Delicious had the clam chowder but it was well worth it and not too pricey, great place. i got to try the fried shrimp that was also delicious all around i would say you cant go wrong if you was some well made seafood
Matt Wettengel
The Cioppino is always amazing as is the fresh cod they dry up for their fish and chips. Also tried the garlic fries which were delightfully flavorful, though all of the fries were rather soggy. Love the freshness of their fish and will keep coming back!
Mike Montero
Would have been better was the fresh hot fries got mixed with the leftover fries.. otherwise the food was very good and worth the 30 minute wait.
Ari Kohn
A favorite place!! Crowded, loud, fun, very, very good!! Garlic fries are off-the-hook incredibly good! Fried oysters are best of anywhere I've eaten in the entire world. This is Seattle!
jason pham
Walked by Jack fish spot alot when wondering the market, and finally tried it out since I was craving some crab.
There is always a line at this location especially during peak tourist season, and it does take a while for the food to come out. There is limited seating that's pretty much filled but there are public tables around the area.
The menu has all you expect for a fish restaurant in a farmers market with a lot of fried fish options, chowder, cioppino and whole steamed Dungeness crab. At 13 dollars a pound, the crab is a great value, given the price of other places. The crab was pre cracked so breaking it apart was pretty simple with just your hands though wasn't as sweet I other crab that I had, and some of the meat was much more fishy tasting than I am used to.
Katherine
Awesome! Delicious! Good price!
Michael G. Barash
Both a seafood market and a restaurant. I love their clams and mussels and crab. Lots of good people watching while you're eating.
Frank
The scallops and the fish'n chips were awesome. It's just what we wanted in quick, fresh sea food on the go. We will always eat here on our trips to Seattle.
Nate Chertack
Pikes Place Market is kind of an overwhelming place, with people and things everywhere. Jack's didn't have a line so I gave it a shot. The clam chowder was delicious! If you're super hungry (like I was), get it in a bread bowl. Walk off the calories on the Seattle hills.
Luan Vu
Really good whole trout
Saif Al'Khaliq
This Place is good... Top Notch. I know the 4 stars contradicts that however let Me explain. On a scale of 1 to 10.Ill give them a 9 for flavor.9 for Price and 6 for service. I'M SORRY but the last couple times I've been there it wasnt thoroughly cooked and ESPECIALLY nowadays My Food has to be Thoroughly Cooked.Im not giving up though, that's how good it is.
Christopher Chin
Fresh fish and chips and other seafood delights, Jack's is a best kept secret spot in the middle of Pike Place Market. Huge portions and fast service make this my go-to lunch spot
Rudy D'Andrea
Enjoyed the chowder. Kid had fish and chips and they were good too. Frenzied environment as per usual for Pikes Market area.
Nadine Harpster
I LOVED this place! The food was great and it was a really fun experience. Also, the person who served us and took our order was so great and so nice. Thanks for a great experience!
Kyle Doney
Chowder is great! The fish and chips was a little over fried. The fish was so fried in some spots that there was no meat left and not edible. Besides that, would go back for the chowder.
Wendy Yau
Cheap low key seafood joint. The eating area is messy and not the ocd! If there are specials available, opt for those instead of the fried fish and chips version. Fresh is better!
Eric Pitt
Great chowder and scenery
Kylee Adams
The best clam chowder. Hands. Down. The only downfall is having too many people in the market area and fighting the crowd, but that's to expect. Best time to go is during the non-touristy season when it's cold, rainy, and very little foot traffic!
Ag
The only place that had Fresh Dungeness Crab at Pike Place Market yesterday. The other three stores only had frozen. The girl that helped me out was great. Crab was delicious.
Aaron Morgan
I got the regular fish and chips. The service was very nice and fast. Loved the flavors and the, what seemed to be, fresh house made tartar sauce. Reasonable prices too!
Curt Engeland
I love their fried oysters.
Best Cat Nalu
French fries is deep fried and tastes salty enough. Fried fish is good with chowder (again, rather salty). Still, nice choice when you travel here.
Robbie Speidel
Amazing place to eat and people watch in the pike market. Halibut and chips is where it's at.
Diane L.
Fresh fish and chips and grilled salmon. Skip the Dungeness crab because it has no flavor or sweetness. This is a fish stall so we had difficulty finding a table in the market to eat the food.
Herman Villanueva
My wife had the Dungeness crab ($25 smackeroos) and she said it was great. The whole time the customer services was on point. They also were very clean with the fish.
Tsi Moi
I ordered the Fish & Chip and it tasted good except the fish is a bit salty. There is a line to order and the area is hectic. It’s hard to find a place to sit and eat. Price was good.
Christopher Cavoto
I had the clam chowder bread bowl at the store and steelhead salmon to take cook at home. Both were delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Michael Hintze
No frills fish and chips counter crowded by tourists. The fish quality is questionable at best, definitely don't order anything that isn't deep fried. Of the fish and chip variations the haddock and cod are the best choices.
Germaine Hunte
Food was great service was good.
Reece Murata
Cheap fish and chowder compared to other nearby places and a much shorter line
Romita Banerjee
Fresh food. I liked their grilled salmon. My husband loved their fish 'n' chips. A must go place each time we visit Seattle.
indijohnson
Great food for a great price. The menu changes based on what’s fresh. The fried salmon was a little disappointing, but the clams were unbeatable.
Jack Yuan
Quick service and deliciously fried fish!
Steven Soltis
Sitting was a bit limited, but the food was amazing.
Nancy Le
Fresh fish served in front of you!
Ivan Toh
The tuna steaks, oyster, chowder and salmon were very fresh - would go again
Paul Karmilowicz
The food was incredibly fresh and very good. A must stop if you like any kind of seafood. Can get a little packed at times and seating is very limited.
chris sternagel
A must if you're visiting Seattle and the market. The crab is always fresh. Usually hard to find seat but any weight for a seat and or service is worth it.
Elaine Chan
I'm not sure if I'm spoiled but the crab was drier and saltier than any I could have gotten from Redondo Beach in Los Angeles. Definitely didn't enjoy it. I was expecting much better crab for the location and the price. Very disappointed.
Cheryl Lim
Lovely chowders and fried fish! Fresh cod is used in the fish & chips. Hand-cut chips are soggy unfortunately. Cooks are fun and friendly!
Mike Myers
I had the large fish and chips, and chowder. The portions were huge, the fish fresh and flaky, and the prices were very reasonable. I'll be back!
James S
Best Pacific style chowder to be found and crisp, panko-coated fish for fish and chips. Fries were a bit oil-sogged, but not inedible.
Sara Koenig
Good food fries could have cooked a little longer but over all everything was awesome. Great customer service.
Joanna Ji
Had a couple raw oysters which thoroughly satisfied my cravings. Very Seattle fish place with solid selection of pike place market staples staffed by hot hipsters.
Radka Kasparcova
Found bones in the salmon fish and chips, not sure if that’s common but haven’t had that happen before. Fries were great though
Bryan Leung
Amazing seafood. The crab and oysters are a must
Andrew Scholes
If you’re in the area I can recommend this 150% best fish and crab in the pikes market hands down! Prices are Realistic and the staff are fast friendly and most importantly make the best food.
Frank McPeek
Best steamed clams in town
shakirah nichols
I honestly see why people are willing to travel across state lines for their clam chowder, absolutely delicious😋😋😋 …
Gary Zapparelli
Love this place. Tasty fish and chips, chowder, and other things for a good price. Worth the stop if you're in the market and hungry.
Daniel Kim
Can't stop by Pike Place w/o grabbing a bite at Jack's. Aspiring rock and roll musician who turned this stand into a local seafood sensation. Genuine Seattle experience.
John Dodson
My wife, kids & I always make a point to eat at Jacks. Clams, oysters, shrimp & scallops ...super fresh & perfectly prepared. Oh, don't forget the Fries...shoestring style with skins...damn, now I'm hungry!
Amanda Smith
O.... wow. So, I never like seafood at all, and i just tried the grilled tuna, and I'm hooked, in fact, I ordered twice:) excellent spot.
Kyle O'Hara
Best value seafood in the city! Line/eating area is kind of confusing/messy though
Tasia Hagar
Best fish and chips I have had to date. Must go to if youre downtown. Not costly and big portions
Jana Kelsey
Oh my gosh, so good, and the service was fast and friendly
Lim Meng Kang
So fresh man it’s crazy bro
Rogelio Herrera
It was great! Needed a quick Oyster fix and this place hit the stop, I ended up going back for round two that same day.
Cheryl Altschuler
Great grilled salmon with great side . Would be nice to have more seating, possibly indoors with doors to prevent drafts when it's bitter cold outside.
Navid Ghaffarzadegan
I liked their west coast style clam chowder. The staff was nice. Little room for eating. Salmon was ok.
Owen C
Nice cod
Antonio Arenas
Simply delicious! I tried one of the smoked salmon and it was hands down the best I've ever tasted! And it was really cheap, so 6-star rating for them!
Nadia
Good food, nice place to get fish and seafood from, the only thing is that it gets busy very hard find place to sit.
Ryan
Tucked away behind a fish market by the same name right off Pike Pl Rd. Fish and chips are excellent with fries made in-house. The raw oysters are delicious, tasting like the ocean smells, sweet and salty with a creamy mouth feel.
Irati Rodriguez
It’s a great location with good food but nothing amazing and definitely overpriced for what you get.
ned davis
Disappointed in the fish that we bought. Bought some salmon and halibut and when we cooked it it did not taste fresh. Must have been a couple of days old
Sarah Best
Our favorite fish spot in Seattle!! We never miss a chance to go to Jack's!
Karmyn Michelle
Well a bad experience turned great! Thank you to the management staff for calling me and making things right. This follow up alone will ensure I stay a customer ! Thank you
Allyson Wen
Every time we go to Pike Place Market, we stop here for fried scallops and fish. Tried garlic fries this time, they were a little disappointing, soggy and oily.
Johnny Doey
The food was good and the prices were amazing. We had a 15 minute line which was annoying, and there was nowhere to sit, so prepare to eat while standing.
Kimberly Schaub
I've been missing the little shop! Renovations to the place are professional and should be much more accessible. It's a fast-paced shop where the focus is on providing quick service rather than a show. Great place to get to know the local vendors.
laura ehrhard
I use to eat here with my dad and mom when I visited Tucson best fish and chips I love their chowder too
Jerel Jallorina
Excellent raw oysters and fish and chips (cod and halibut)

This place is amazing! I love when food is made with alot of TLC!!

Wonderful alder smoked salmon. It's a great to-go snack and fairly priced.
Tina Holt
Could not find an authentic good honest fish and chips at Pikes that didn't cost a fortune. Well we found it here. Awesome. Will be back

Good fresh fish, cod fish & chips, but unappetizing place to eat.
Kathryn Mann
Where we always buy our fish for dinner. Great fish and chips, too. And smoked salmon. Nice people
Jhamal Fanning
I'm not convinced that it was price friendly but the dungeness crab was amazing and the staff were awesome. So I'm all on board for this touristy opportunity
Lin Jin
Nicee chowder bowl
Raymond DeRaymond
Nice place, they have seats and fresh cooked sea food, raw oysters, etc. They don't do the fish throwing thong, but good fresh seafood with better prices

Great chowder and the fries are amazing! Definitely recommend for a quick bite strolling through the market

The food was great and I loved the cheerful and local atmosphere.

Cool place- Cod was ok, Halibut was great!
