Reviews of Hot Mama's Pizza
Meenakshi Bose
Hot Mama's is an unassuming pizza place serving fresh hot pizza by the slice. They have some really creative combinations and the crust has a delicious garlic flavour. Highly recommend the pesto and the mamacita for veggie choices and the garlic chicken with tomato for meat lovers. The prices are very affordable and the quality is consistently good.

I've been in town for three months and struggling to find some greasy, NY-style, comfort-food-worthy pizza. This is the real grease. The good grease. I ordered an 18-inch pepperoni and jalapeño and ate half of it. Then I lay down and wept overcome by the realization that finally -- finally -- my search was over. I also lay down because I had gorged myself until painfully full.
The crust is pretty light and the toppings and sauce were a little spicy. The storefront itself is all walkup service with a few outdoor tables. They had a variety of slices available when I stopped by.
I will probably do a 14-inch next time or just eat two slices like a reasonable person. In any case, I'm satisfied today and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I am saying this in the most constructive tone possible: If you do counter service at a window, you better heat that slice up before you hand it over! Buddy I ain't an oven, you got a pizza oven for a reason. Heat that slice up! Help a gal out! I didn't come for cold pizza. Other than that, decent slices. The dough is chewy and sauce is sort of plain but it's tasty anyway.
Jay K
Pizza dough was thick and chewy enough for my standard so I did enjoy pizza from here, but I’m not really sure if I will try to revisit because didn’t feel like pizza here was extraordinary. Maybe I could have been a regular customer if I lived nearby.

The perfect slice to cap off date night. We saw some people walking by us carrying pizza boxes that smelt amazing and we turned in the direction they had come from and came upon Hot Mama’s. So glad we found this place! Already can’t wait come back for another slice.
Anna Baatz
The jalapeño pepperoni they had today had me ready to give it all up for another slice. Just insanely good crispy cornmeal crunch, yet with a soft doughy interior, the jalapeño had the perfect kick and the overall classic cheese + pepperoni situation was so freaking good.
Love how they have half and half options so you can try more! The pesto flavor was a very nice twist on a classic cheese pizza and the garlic chicken was plenty savory and very yums. When we came for pickup there was a long delay, and we totally got it because they were super understaffed (two people?! The front worker would take orders then run back into the kitchen to help in-between... poor fellas!!) So please be patient + understanding and tip for your awesome za 👏🍕

Well worth a stop. It's been a favorite of mine for years now. When you go get the pesto. It's lowkey fire and of course their pepperoni pizza is good! I can't say enough good things about this spot. Just go!
Brandon der Blätter
they have a lot of varieties of pizza but they're often out for the night on interesting pies a good hour or two before closing time and they don't make more. it's good if you're around and need a quick bite as long as you don't mind getting plain sausage every time. also the pizza itself is a little thin and sparse for my taste but not as bad as some other places
Jourdan Gaub
The pesto pizza here is iconic but it's not the only good pizza here. They have a lot of other really great pizzas. Any piece you pick up from them is going to be great. But a slice fresh out of the oven is one of my favorite things in Seattle.

This is the best pizza place in Seattle and is also the best priced. The pizza always tastes amazing and is served fresh and hot. They don't charge for beverage refills and the they some times give out free slices. Whoever owns this place, thank you for being a pizza legend.
All the other pizzas places are low quality and waaaay over priced.
Tyler Sohl
Hot Mama's is one of my beloved favorites.
Lemme say this:
Dear Hot Mama's Pizza staff,
Please make make labels for the available slices. I know those pies sell fast, but changing signs for what's in stock is really easy, and then I won't have to ask you what you have. I love you and I love your pizza!

Oh my God the BEST pizza in Seattle!!! These pies are the b in bomb. Nobody go there, leaves MORE FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great job and keep them pies a comin'. Honestly, if u haven't hd a pizza made the traditional way, this's as close as it comes and their there......they made the 10**********'s list with me and won't go anywhere else it would be uncivilized!!!!!!

SO GOOD!! After touring downtown Seattle the day after a snowstorm, we had seen a lot of sites, drank a lot of coffee and were hungry for some fresh, hot New York style pizza. Our Google search let us to Hot Mama‘s and we were not disappointed. Some good single slice options but we went for the large cheese pizza to share (Gold Medal slice). The staff was friendly, the service was quick and the pizza was delicious. Phenomenal, crispy crust. Good amount of flavorful sauce and excellent cheese with a good amount of chew (not too much, not too little). Wide variety of toppings available at a reasonable price. Also classic Coke drinks on the soda fountain or free ice water. I’m a West Coast transplant from the East Coast and this pizza is phenomenal!! Highly recommend Hot Mama’s.
Bradley Marshall
Had a slice of plain pizza, enjoyable pizza and I liked it. From this sample of two plain slices, this is not New York style pizza (if you actually grew up on the east coast and ate a ton of pizza from New York, Boston, Connecticut, New Jersey, you would know exactly what I am saying and what I mean).
Something about the crust style, oil style, tomato sauce style/flavor/zest, and cheese style/amount makes this not feel or taste like pizza you have eaten on the East Coast your whole life.
Very enjoyable pizza and a nice staff, not East Coast New York style taste or texture.
Zane McHugh
By far the best pizza I have had in a long time. It has the brick oven taste and for being such a small store they crank out the pizzas fast.
It's pretty easy to miss if you're driving. But definitely worth stopping in and getting a slice or a whole pie
Ariel Jensen
I’m a big fan of this place! Open late, quick line, friendly service, & delicious pizza. There were a few yummy vegetarian options: pineapple & pesto, veggie, & cheese. We tried all 3 and my favorite is the pineapple—so good!
The location is easy to find. There is inside & outside seating. It is a surprisingly popular place to eat after 9 pm. The only downfall is that the inside is tiny and waiting in line feels like you’re in the way.
Daniel Shaughnessy
Absolutely delicious pizza. Had it for the first time at a company event, ended up going and getting some for a party and it was a knockout!
Timothy Clark
Awesome pizza, great crust. Flaky, soft and like a loaf of bread inside. 9.5/10
chloe meisner
Good pizza, great after night classes at SCCC. Staff is always kind and fast. Crust is on the breadier side fyi
jasN86
Inside is still closed, but, it's usually a really quick walk-up experience. Nee York style pizza. I would highly recommend their pesto pizza, as well as their classic pepperoni! No matter which of their pizzas you choose, you can't go wrong!
joseph eyani makwa
Their pizza is amazing here and the service is one of a kind too. I recommend trying them out when you have a chance.
Philippé ZephaniYah
I Like the *Hole In The Wall* nostalgic look & feel of this lil neighborhood pizza shack.... ((( no, I am not being sarcastic... the look actually goes good with the area 😄 ))), But.... BUT................. even Tho my single slice pizza --Crust-- had Just the right amount of lightness and crisp to it and the flavor and Pesto sauce was GooooD.... I would have liked it even More if there was More PIZZA, On My Single Pizza Slices!! 🤷🏾♂️
The Cheese & Chicken Were Barely There!
So... I Still Recommend This Spot But...... Maybe Ask Them, ((( nicely 'cause,, yuh'know... they're making your FOOD 😳☝🏽😄 ))), if they can go a little Heavy on the Cheese and whatever meat Topping you choose. ✌🏽
Ashley Senske
I have been going to hot mama's for slices since I was a wee student at Seattle Central. It never fails to be delicious and comforting pizza.
Daniel Kowalczewski
This is hands down best pizza in Seattle. Every time in that area I get a couple of slices and am never disappointed.
Armando Martínez
Best kept secret is that hot mama's pesto slice is the best pizza in town.
Ankur Sundara
Great cheap by the slice pizza place in cap hill. Consistently good and a decent variety of slices.
Jay Fish
Totally love Hot Mama's Pizza for late night eats and people watching 👀 😋 😍. It's all about love there and I appreciate you big time 🙏💯
Tyler Leite
The crust tastes just like garlic powder. I'm into that. I got what I assume was a slightly older slice, and it was perfectly serviceable. I like to think their fresh slices are probably pretty good. But in my experience, the main benefit of this place is that it's open later than surrounding establishments. In another city, this might get 3 stars. But competition is weak for late night pizza (and don't mention Rocco's, I think their pizza is also just mediocre)
James Batten
I personally love the pizza. I'm a big thin crust guy and they deliver that experience for me with excellent toppings. One of my favorite go to pizza places in downtown area. Plus sells by slice there so stop by check it out. Awesome yummy place. It's an experience.
Erin Rose Raduazo
We loved our sausage pizza! Delivery took about an hour, they were super friendly on the phone and it was hot and delicious.
Narasimhan G
Great crust and toppings. Good veggie options. Loved the cheese slice and veggie slice. Light on the pocket and stomach. Good service too.
Victor Mendoza Jr
Stopped by today to grab a quick slice an hour after they “opened”, no one came to window to help for at least 3 min, then all he told me was we will have pizza later. Why are they even open with no pizzas available?? Pizza here is not good enough to “come back later.” I will gladly take my money elsewhere.
Kayuá Waszak
Best pizza in Seattle so far. Delicious pepperoni, but the house combo just fills your mouth with flavor.
And the prices can't hurt your pocket. Great dinner option.
Patrick D
Great pizza & good service. No dine in so must be okay with walk thru.
Beez Neez
Thin crust heaven. Always get the pepperoni with extra pepperoni. My personal favorite is the pesto add chicken... 🔥! …
Jim H
This pizza joint is legit, the pizza is awesome, amazing crust, and the customer service is on point, keep up the good work Hot Mama cap hill!!
Frank Yu
The pizza is fresh and the dough is light. Great prices for the quality of slices
Hunter Freedman
It's gotten too expensive. $8+ for 2 medium size slices. Not as good as it used to be.
G D
Haven’t had a slice from them for decades since moving away from downtown/the Hill. The pizza and service were top notch!
Had a delicious crust and crunch (the sign of a pro pie maker).
Super glad I stopped by to see an old friend and have lunch w them ;)....! Thanks again from a very satisfied customer.
Cassie Mulheron
Great pizza! The pesto was amazing and the combination super tasty and filling. They have a few counters inside and tables outside to eat at.
Riley K
Best pizza on the hill. If you want overpriced bougie stuff sure there's somewhere else that will have that, but good, affordable pizza is something that a city can be gauged by and Mama's is one of the few places holding onto that in Seattle. I've come here for years, from a midday snack to late night pizza needs, and Mama's has always been solid. Chicken pesto rocks the house
Kolten Serrano
I love the pizza here and the service is some of the best. I recommend trying them if you're looking for that delicious slice.
S.R. S.R.
It's solid pizza. Always get good slices here. It's quick and hot. Wishing I had gotten 3 slices last time
G C
18" Chef's choice was good. Enjoy the mildy/low acidity tomatoes sauce and nice aroma from the fresh basil. The crust is slightly thicker than the NY style pizza but it a good pizza overall.
Joe Ott Soulbikes
I love the pizza here but you have to catch them at the right time of day. They are so popular that the line to get a slice of pizza can be super long at some points of the day. For fast service the best times are 1:30pm to 4:30pm M to Fri. Noon to 4:30 Sat & Sun. Fri & Sat night always have lines 6 people deep.
Rachel Halversen
Great location, good hours, solid pizza by the slice spot with a variety of flavors to choose from. Pesto & pepperoni stood out; temperature varied depending on how fresh the flavor was.
Adam
I've lived in downtown Seattle for over 5 years. This is my favorite pizza in Seattle. Bigger chains can't compete with the quality but you might have to wait a tad longer on delivery. Remember to tip your driver!
Wil Claussen
One of my favorite pizza places in Seattle. Great dough, always a good selection and just the right amount of grunge on the walls.
Marvin Taylor
Great location and they sale slices that's A big plus. Although in A very busy neighborhood, with a bunch of foot traffic with minimal street parking. I've been a handful of times and have never had to circle the block for A parking spot. Plenty of pizza options..crust is great..service is fast and friendly and most importantly the prices aren't ridiculously priced!
Will Cappon
Pizza was okay. In general, Seattle's pizza scene has been quite disappointing. You order from the window.
justiin rodig
Would highly recommend, this place is super good, real deal pizza right here great service as well
Lexie
Three stars because the pizza is either fantastic or awful, no in between. So hit or miss. It’s so rare nowadays that I go there and the slices are fresh. It’s like some of their pizza chefs are great and some are not. Very strange. Still the best place to grab a slice on cap hill though.
Karen Alexandra Martinez
High expectations for a pretty basic pizza. The ingredients and the crust were not my favorite. The flavor is too simple and the crust also was tasteless. We order online and it was ready almost 40min after it.
Nevertheless, it has been the biggest cheaper large pizza I have ever tried.
Luke Higgins
The pesto pizza here is awesome and worth the trip from the eastside for some. It's a great place for late night food when you are out for a night in the hill.
LaBella Lola
A great place to grab a couple of slices and a drink. You know it has to be good pizza if there's always a line. The pizza is always fresh and the crust is crispy. If you want a whole pie best thing to do is call ahead and pick it up. While you wait you can people watch.
Lauren Coseo
Had their pepperoni, pesto, and house combo slices. All were amazing.
surbhi gupta
Loved the pizza we had once here!
Kim Molina
Great pizza at a great price! Favorite pizza in cap hill.
Leo DiPierro
The best kind of pizza is from places like this. Simple, cheap, and acquired through a single window. What more could you want?
SirBob42
Best pizza on the hill. Good quality and variety of toppings, reasonable prices, especially for full pizzas. Their slice service is the quickest in the area, only with the caveat that they don't re-heat them, so pick the freshest pie.
Kerizma Hernandez
The pesto pizza is my absolute favorite. I would call ahead to guarantee you get a pizza. Just go ahead and order the whole pie because 1-2 slices won't be enough
Haychoi Taing
Delicious thin crust walk up window pizza!
Victor
Great pizza, the owner is super nice!
Ash L
Such great pizza and friendly staff. Great place to grab a slice and chill.
Shannon Moore
They had about five different types of slices to choose from, but I chose the cheese and tomato & mushroom. It must've been my lucky day because they gave me an extra slice on the house! It was really tasty and they were quite generous with the sauce and cheese (and the minced garlic on the veggie slice). Definitely one of my favorite NY style pizzas around.
Dane Wilson
Excellent authentic pizza, tasty slices, great location! Wish I knew about them sooner, because the pizza is better than any other I’ve had in Seattle. The crust is delicious and properly cooked. Their ovens are actually hot and the pizza is perfect. I’ve been three times this week. I would recommend their pizza to anyone except people who I don’t like.
Zi Huq
Amazing NY style pizza and extremely affordable!
Salvatore Savago
I wish I could give 10 stars. We have been ordering pizza from all over the neighborhood for a few weeks searching for the perfect slice (I won't throw other spots under the bus by name but so far we were highly dissatisfied) Tonight we found it! The crust is perfectly baked, the toppings don't slide right off when you pick it up, it wasn't greasy at all and the toppings were quality! Excellent pizza, excellent price, great delivery time
Taane Staladi
The best pizza the key is to order it for pickup so you can skip the massive line and get a fresh pie! Pepperoni and Mama's Choice are next level
Laszlo Horvath
The staff is SO VERY friendly!! Stopped in late Monday night, 15 min. before closing. I asked if I had time to eat my pizza quickly before closing. “Sure, you have plenty of time,” said the polite friendly man playing my pizza. Very friendly staff and the best Pizza in Seattle. The Greek pizza is always my favorite. This place has the best pizza crust I’ve ever experienced. Chewy crust yet has a very fine crunchy bottom to satisfy the most discriminating pizza connoisseur. Thanks to all the staff for making the best pizza and providing a friendly welcoming environment, it’s so greatly appreciated. 🙏
Kayla Knutson
The Chef's Choice pizza that I ordered today was so good that I gotta try the entire menu. I kept nibbling all evening despite being, uh, PLENTY full. No regrets. 10/10 will make this decision again. Especially since I ran out of pizza.
David James
The line seems to go quickly, the staff are friendly, and their 'Green' pesto pizza is beyond everything. However, (edit)..., the audacity shown by their company a few nights ago by charging and extra ten dollars to simply split a pizza into halves is purpostrous and unacceptable. Giving them three stars for their all-star performance of ripping off the neighborhood. Five stars for the pizza, and one for the price gouging, with a ratio of four stars.
Jessica Anderson
Best non-artisan pizza in Seattle. Straight up delicious. Plan ahead if you order for delivery because this place is on fire! Seriously though, the wait time for delivery can be a couple hours. Plan ahead.
Ben Kramer
If I could give them 10 stars, I would.
This establishment is by far one of the better and economical pizza places on the Hill. I've had many drunken nights where I needed some grub and Hot Mama's was always there.
I'm a particular fan of the cheese, pesto, and sausage pizza's, but once in a blue moon, they'll have sausage and onion. Talk about mouth-watering!
The staff has always been super kind and professional, going above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction.
Nif
Tonight I would be happy if it were my last night alive! Why, you ask? Obviously you have not been ordained by a divine event with Hot Mama's pesto pizza... THE BEST IN TOWN! Thank goodness you're still here for me, Hot Mama's, I am swooning as I slowly enjoy piece by delicious piece of your perfect creation, the pesto pizza! Words cannot ever satisfy the love I have for you guys and your other-worldly pizza ❤️💜🙏
Jennifer C-K
This was very satisfying NY-style pizza by the slice (in a NY-style space). The crust was good, the sauce was good and the toppings were good, so I left content that my 3 bucks was well spent. The young man working there was welcoming and friendly, the music was on a good station and at a good volume, and the tables were kept clean and equipped with parmesan. No complaints here.
Campbell Hawk
Ive been going to hot mama's for years.. since 2011 to be exact. Their pesto pizza is unbeatable. I make a point to stop every time I'm in the neighborhood. Great for a slice or a whole pie. Can't recommend this pizzeria enough!!
Jeff Hinman
Sooooooo good. Would recommend their pesto pizza or bbq chicken but honestly I've never had a pizza from here that disappointed. The service has always been great and their pizzas are even better. Go to pizza place for great taste and a reasonable price.
Jeremiah R
Not even COVID-19 can shut this impressive pizza spot down. If anything, they made the pies even better! Approach the window and choose anything. Don't be picky. It's all delicious.
Anna
Their chicken garlic pizza has rescued me on hangover/sick days. It has whole cloves of garlic that get roasted and sweet, a life saver (if you’re being hunted by a vampire). It’s so seriously good!! The crust helps absorb any remaining alcohol in your system. Really good on any day, we frequented hot mamas very often (way too often) when we lived close by for pick up or just a quick slice. Service was always prompt and friendly.
Bruce Caruthers
Speaking as someone who grew up in New York, this place has definitely made it onto my short list of places to go when I want NY style pizza. This place is about good basic pizza, instead of how so many pizza places around here that are about all the fancy pile of toppings on a mediocre (or worse) base pizza.
The guy behind the counter was also so incredibly enthusiastic about working there and about their pizza, and actually knew what he was talking about when comparing against genuine NY pizza.
My wife works nearby, so I will definitely be asking her to bring home a pie every now and then!
Cox Joseph
I loved this place! If eating pizza everyday was acceptable, I would order from here every day. I walk about 20 minutes one way just to get this food 😭 …
gulimsoto
Best New York style pizza in town. It’s a small place so you have to look for the sign in mi picture and a sandwich board that they have outside or you’ll miss it. Pizzas are always fresh and they make to order as well as sell by the slice which is pretty cool. Pies don’t take very long to make if you order them. Next time you’re in the Seattle area, this is a must if you are thinking about pizza.
rohit belapurkar
This is the best pizza place in Capitol hill (and perhaps in Seattle). Some personal favs - mama’s choice, chef’s choice and the Greek. Parking is restricted to roadside and currently offering carry out only. They do sell pizza by the slice as well
E Shively
Hot Mama's is the best pizza in Seattle. Fight me. When it comes down to it Dave's crew makes the best pie in town. Yes there are other incredible spots making Za with all kinds of fancy ovens and doughs and ingredients, but when you want a delicious pie around $20 or under ( the cost a pizza should be ) Hot Mama's is the Jam. Just because your eggs cost $8.99 doesn't mean a single pizza should cost $35 +. I don't care what the rent cost, pizza is suppose to be tasty and inexpensive. Stay Hot, Never change!
B
Delicious pizza by the slice!! You could tell by the line of people that stretched out the door and down the sidewalk that it was a good place. Also, they were out of parmesan in the shakers, and when we let a staff member know they refilled them in under 2 minutes, even though the place was packed. Amazing!
Cameron Griffin
Best NY style pizza in Seattle. They’ll deliver to most places in downtown/cap hill. Out of the best places in Seattle this place takes the cake for my tastes. They have a thinner crust with ample cheese and sauce. However be aware during prime times the wait for delivery can be a while, but pickup is always quick.
Maclyn Maguire
I very much enjoyed this pizza. Dough was cooked just right and the pepperoni was particularly tasty. Nice thorough, rich flavor. Went with the house combo and it wasn't super cheesy but overall, it's a large 18" for good value.
Jon Conley
Great NYC-Style Alternative to Big Mario's
Fresh, delicious, simple thin crust pizza. It's a beautiful thing.
Hot Mama's is worth checking out; especially when it's late and you're just walking by. The wait is fairly long at night (lots of walk-in by-the-slice customers), but that's just about every late-night spot in Cap Hill.
The pizza itself is very comparable to Big Mario's up the street: great dough, perfect crust, decent sauce, great topping combos. They check all of the boxes you'd want checked. A little less Annoying Hipster Service™ than you'd find with Mario's and more Hurry Up And Order Service™.
Totally worth it if you can stand the line or if you come during off hours for takeout.
Creighton Watley
I don't go to the Hill as much as I used to and so it was a nice reminder recently to drop by and get a couple slices.
Hot Mama's has a great New York style pizza. I think that Pagliacci's gets it even closer with their chewier crust, but I would happily eat pizza from either of them and Hot Mama's is open later.
The prices are fine, it doesn't feel like a steal, just fair.
If you're looking for by the slice there's essentially no wait. I don't think I've ever ordered a pizza from them, so I can't say what that's like.
Reggie Bryant
BRUHHH... there's nothing like a good slice of NY style pizza after a night of drinking. Got there right before they got crazy crowded & right when 2 pies came out of the oven. Every pizza was yummy goodness!! Can't wait to go back!! Happy Eating!!
Ryan Hoess
Honestly this is my favorite pizza place in Seattle. They're not only super friendly but the pizza is so good. Whoever the angel is that came up with the Hawaiian Pesto pizza deserves to skip the line to Heaven. For some reason they have the best soda fountain on all Capitol Hill too... they are doing so many things right.
Susie Kim
can't be disappointed, their pizza is best in seattle. way more affordable than Rocco's but flavor's on point. if I am having gatherings with my friends, this is the place I would go for.
Jen H.
Great little late night pizza shop. One of the best places for pizza by the slice. Pepperoni and the Pesto are our top choices. Very chill vibe and good, fast service. Similar to NYC pizza, but softer and doughy.
Bob Smith
Got a pepperoni slice.
Crust: passes the droop test. Crispy 4/5.
Sauce: the area this pizza fails. Tastes like school lunch pizza sauce. 1/5.
Cheese. Unremarkable 3/5.
Pepperoni: average 3/5.
Overall it's ok. I mean it's hard to screw up pizza.
Erika Vopnford
This place is a pretty decent pizza place. We ordered the pepperoni and the chef's choice (tomato/basil/garlic). The pizza was nice and hot and the ingredients were fresh and tasty.
Javier Alejandro
I love the pizza here so much, I wish they had a place like this back home. Feels like a mom and pop shop and by the name I'm pretty sure it might be, you can tell by the flavor. We liked it so much we bought pizza to eat there plus ordered more to take home! A must visit again when I go back to Seattle.
Michael Smith
Closest pizza to NY pizza in Seattle by landslide. Favorite spot in the city for pizza.
Mno Jkl
potential for 5 stars - but the pizza was undercooked...x
Ordered a whole pie and, in their defence, it was before noon... that means they just opened and there's a good chance the employees didn't show up 4 hours early just to turn the oven on to preheat.
I used to work as a pizza cook at a similar place in SF/Berkeley, which taught me a thing or two about pizza stones...
...and I know about the CL/OPEN...
.....and I especially know about hangovers.
Kirsten Pickett
This pizza place is awesome. Cheap after bar food is the best way to describe it but much more variety than your classic pepperoni and cheese. The staff is friendly and patient on the weekend nights and the crowd there is usually friendly and welcoming. Community tables and usually crowded later on in the evening. This is nothing fancy so don't get your hopes up but great for barebones grub!
Shivani
It was a delicious pizza at a reasonable price!
Eric Dowd
I had the opportunity to meet with a group in the side room of this pizzeria. The food was authentic American food! The service was very attentive and accommodating, which we all appreciated. Various pizzas were delicious! Everything was delicious!
One of the best Seattle pizzerias!
Mason Battles
If you're looking for takeout pizza in Seattle, this is the place. Affordable prices and reasonable hours, choose Hot Mama's for your slice cravings.
Marshall Steeves
Wow. Just wow. Great guys slinging incredible NYC-style slices. The place has been there since '95 and it looks like it (ie. it's a bit rough), but that's all part of the vibe. I would have preferred the slices warmed a bit more, but the taste and crust was phenomenal and will absolutely be coming back anytime I'm in Seattle.
Robert Getch
Decent pizza, open very late. Sometimes the line moves a bit slower then seems needed for already cooked pizza. Also a very tight space, would be nice if they had an exit door.
Pizza sause could be a bit more robust. It's a thinner slice, NYC style.

This is great for a quick, by-the-slice pit stop after a show or if you're having a night out on the town. Affordable, good variety of pizzas always changing, generally 3 veg and 3 meat as they rotate or of the oven. Not a lot of sitting room, mostly standing at high topped tables with a few bar stools.
Jana Infanger
Probably the most perfect crust of any pizza in Seattle! The perfect amount of thin, crunchy and chewy. And the price is great too. $3 for a slice? Very nice.
MaKara Reed
It was nothing spectacular! After living in NY though I think I have become a bit of a snob. It's like three dollars a slice. Small little place with a few tables inside and out. They had about four kinds of pizzas to pick from. The crust was very good. The sauce was my least favorite.
James Trevino
They have the best pesto 'Green' pizza I've ever had anywhere. However, they way up charge when splitting a pizza order into halves.
Timothy Twogood
Always fantastic pizza! Usually a quick line even if it's out the door. Just don't set your heart on anything until you're ordering as those last few slices might be grabbed by the person in front of you.
Denise Dust
I've always gotten takeout slices. Cheap for the area. A bit cardboardy sometimes, but the crust is also doughy and soft. The pizza slices are enormous and covered in cheese and toppings with the perfect amount of sauce.
Las mujeres no tienen pollas
Stellar for some late-night pizza. Despite it being a Saturday after 10pm they still answered their phone and took a custom pizza order no issue. Their small spot downtown was packed with ppl and had a line but it moved quickly. They were very friendly and their pizza was as-advertised 18" diameter
Debbie Lin
Pizza here is my favorite on Cap Hill by far. Delicious and quick service, even during the weekend late night craziness. Don't bother messing with Ian's or Pags. Big Mario's would be the next best option. Hot Mama's dough is a little thick, but also tasty - Mario's serves NY style slices, but it lacks a certain wow flavor factor and service is pretty slow.
Evan Wayne
As someone who has grown up and lived most his adult life in &around NYC I found hard to find any pizza that was good ket alone that sells by the slice, Mama's is the first place I'd even consider saying that they have good pizza this is by far the best pizza in Seattle and the staff is very friendly. I would travel 20 minutes anytime just to have a slice here rather than eat the garbage that other pizza places offer
Bryan King
I had this pizza while I was out Friday night, it was so ridiculously good I left the bar across the street a half hour later for more slices. It's Monday now and I've literally thought about the pizza several times per day since then, I will be making designated trips to the area for this pizza. It's unbelievably good. So horribly good that this particular pizza is my new favorite food.
R Rand
Super greasy pizza, but the flavor is awesome. I will admit on more than 1 occasion while driving home the smell was irresistible. I couldn't even make it off Broadway, I had to park on the side of the road and grab a slice.
Andy Wilson
I order delivery from here way more often than I should, but for good old NY style pizza, I think this is probably my favorite thus far in Seattle. Sweet sauce, quality cheese, and I usually order with pepperoni, ham, and mushrooms. I think this place has kept Seattle college students fed for a generation now.
Ivan Hernandez
A one and only at the heart of Seattle. Hot Mama's pizza is the place for you if you're looking for that good ol' classic pizza on the corner vibe. The people are great and very helpful! And best part is... you're on Capitol Hill so you'll never feel discriminated against.
Olivia
The pizza is fantastic! Great spot to stop in for a quick lunch or dinner.
The only reason I give a four star is because the pizza is fantastic only if fresh! I’ve had pizza that they reheat like most places and it’s good, but fresh is beyond better!
Justin Pellino
Serviceable, no thrills counter service pizza joint that gets the job done. Hawaiian is pretty solid. I always want to like the sausage but it consistently tastes a little "off'" to me in a previously frozen kinda way.
Buy The Dip
Great spot for by the slice. One of my favorites in Seattle. The only down side is they got what they got. And sometimes the slices aren't exactly HOT. Not cold but not HOT
Zolaire
Good and cheap pizza by the slice ($3), great local alternative to Dick's if you are on a tight budget for eating out but don't want to keep eating burgers and fries. Good spot for a casual date or friend hangout, but seating is limited and noticeably so on weekends.
Terrell Harrington
6 stars if I could. Gf and I come here after concerts or a night out and the place really is a treat. Price is more than reasonable. Staff is quick, polite, and the pizza tasty. Don't let the line scare you- it moves fast.
Kevin j
Pizza is a little above average (but I've been spoiled by moose tooth in Alaska) decent pizza, great atmosphere and the staff was really nice And engaging. Would recommend for a slice
Andrew Hard
Pizza is delicious, but the wait is always way too long. Hire more people to serve customers!
Melissa C
Best NY style pizza around the Cap Hill area! 🍕 My favorite is pesto with chilli oil (disclaimer: not vegetarian/vegan, just really like the flavor combo, especially after a couple of drinks). …
Justin Ardoin
The pizza is pretty good. The price is ridiculously low for the area. I spent as much on pizza as I did on a coke bottle at the store across the street. Service was quick too. I think this is my go-to place now.
Adam Billen
Such a perfect, stream lined pizza experience. Genuinely just pizza and soda. Feels cheaper than other spots on the hill, and I prefer it over sizzle pie/pagliaccis. Pizza is best fresh out of the oven.
Jenny Li
Hot Mama's is amazing. The slices are pretty cheap, around $2.50 each, and two slices is enough in most cases (though I always want to eat more because it's so good). I don't know that I think it's very 'new york' style pizza, but the crust is definitely the most delicious I've had. Just the right amount of doughy. Also, the toppings and combos are so good. Pesto's my personal favorite.
B A
I'm from NY. This is one of the best in Seattle if NY pizza is what you're looking for. I only always order cheese (you don't experiment with your slice in the Bronx) but the other toppings are made just as fresh and tasty.
Lou S
pizza is the most inexpensive on the hill. during the pandemic is only a walk-up window. expect long lines on weekends & late nights
Jacob R
Solid affordable pizza, came here for dinner after not being able to get into stateside. Pleasantly surprised, had three slices: sausage, pepp, and pesto. For a solid representation of a NY slice of pizza, you can do a lot worse than hot mama's.
Sausage 4/5
Pesto 5/5
Pepp: 4/5
Crust 4/5
Nischint Ramesh
This place is our favorite pizza joint in Seattle. Their bread is light and has a nice taste to it. They have good veggie options, they do half and half, provide easy pick up.
Parking however can be tricky.
Catherine polk
This place is theeeee best!! We live in Tacoma so about 45 miles away but my husband will only eat hot mamas he works construction in Seattle and hot mamas is his spot! He likes pepperoni but I like the green pizza mmmm I highly recommend this pizza place but don't cheat yourself with just a slice get the whole pie :)
Summer Richardson
The single best pizza in Seattle. Comes with d-beat and crust playlists while waiting. Reminds me of the old hill. Excelsior, gentlepeople of hot mama's, thank you for the extra pounds in grad school!
Maritza
I'm born and raised in NYC and am a pizza fanatic. This is the best in Seattle. And I have eaten a lot pizza in NYC: Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Long Island....
Hot Mama's definitely compares. When I'm in the area (which isn't very often), I call and order a large pie and have them leave it uncut so I can get it home and pop it in the oven and then I cut it myself. Great. Now I'm hungry.
Shane Myrick
Great place for cheaper pizza. The pies are big for a group but they can be slow once they get busy. Late night the sell by the slice and it is always a great way to end the night after having drinks on the hill
Kevin Paul
Still the best pizza slices I have had in Seattle. Cannot be beat. The Canadian ham and pineapple slices are highly recommended!
Mason Hollis
Great pizza spot. Legendary late night drunk pizza spot
Cindy Anderson
Wish we lived near this pizza joint. Loved the pepperoni pizza and the sausage pizza. We would definitely be back but unfortunately we live out of state. Very tasty and we loved the more medium thickness crust.
Chantika Tibbetts
Hot Momma's is the best, I used to go here almost everyday when i lived up in Cap Hill. I always have them put my slice back in the oven for a minute to make it cripsy on the bottom, and they're usually always so nice about it. Plus all their pizza is sooo good. :)
Boby Kay
one of my favorite places for a quick bite. The staff are friendly. The pizza is great. Extensive selection of toppings. N best of all, always fresh. The place is so busy, nothing just sits out.
David
Best slice in Seattle. Cant compete with a $3 slice (Ian's). Rather pay less for simplicity done right than weird ingredients that markup a slice to $5 bucks(tator tots should never be on pizza)
Carlos Gutierrez
Best pizza that Seattle has to offer. Just go and grab a slice because as Daria says “there is no aspect, no facet, no moment of life that can’t be improved with pizza. Thank you”
Blak Stonecold
My personal favorite:
Large pesto, add chicken
NomNomNom! Winning!
I've had 4 different pizzas here, and if you're into big slices, thin crust, sloppy toppy grease, this is a top pick everytime.
Omnifarious
Hot Mama's is kind of a Capitol Hill institution. And they have some of the best pizza in Seattle there.
Its spartan and utilitarian nature and lack of comfortable seating are somehow endearing. I frequently stop by for a slice and a sit down for a few minutes in the middle of my day. The copious band posters and rack filled with copies of The Stranger and other local free newspapers just fills out the ambience.
Josh
Stopped by a couple times. Pizza by by slice is convient on a night out but the pizza is honeslty pretty mediocre and usually not very warm.
Kevin Foster
Great corner spot if you wanna get your pizza fix but not gorge... tastes great... good quality pizza at a reasonable price...every time I come here I can't just eat 1 slice its 3 or more
Jill Brandt
NY style pizza. lots of cheese. big slices. just enough grease. You want health food- this isnt the place. You want traditional awesome pizza to eat while you hang with friends and drink beers (or wine)-- this is your place.
Elias Lee
Always a great choice for a quick bite to eat. Pizza is always fresh and warm. The service is always friendly and efficient.
Philip Whitman
New York style pizza and slices served up late night by some of Capitol Hills most badass peeps. Highly recommend! 👍🏼
Sandra Kaku
Good flavor, good crust. Generous slice of pizza at a reasonable price. I would go back and that's from someone who pizza is not high on the list of meal choices.
Patrick “Xenophule” Fuller
This is probably the only pizza place where I've never looked at the prices.
Most of the time, I'll go online and research who has the best deal for a half hour or so and go with the cheapest one, but Hot Mama's is far and beyond, hands-down the best pizza I've ever had and is worth whatever price they're charging me.
From that hometown feel, the always smilin and friendly chefs, to the foldable slices of heaven this place knows how to make pizza that will make you weak in your knees. If you are anywhere in the area, go out of your way to drop by here for a slice, although I suggest calling up and ordering a fresh pizza for yourself—it's always better straight outta the oven.
Katy L
Good place for slices, especially if you are finishing your night out. During the day the pizza doesn’t taste as great but it’s still a pretty decent slice.
dgbsea 4
The pizza is decent. I definitely don't agree with the above reviews on how fantastic it is. My problem with it is two things; there is way too much cheese and the crust is bland/tasteless. I was under the impression it was going go be more Brooklyn style rather than a pizzastorechain tasting...
mitzipinki
Only reason I gave 3 stars is because we were told an hour and it was like 30 minutes past that. Also because we had delivery to a hotel, he gave us no plates and there was nothing in the room so we had to eat off towels from the hotel room (they were clean). So no tip and low rating. Otherwise, pizza is very good (when you get it)!
Austin Byron
They messed up my order but comped me an additional free pizza for the trouble. That's pretty cool in my book. Pizza is very good and has great toppings and flavor. Always a crowd pleaser.
Joel Anderson
Best pizza by the slice in the state of Washington. Been going there for 28 years!
P C
Absolutely delicious, but a time investment. If there are 5 people in line ahead of you, it could be 5 minutes or half an hour, I have no idea why this happens, but 3 out of the 4 times I've been the line has gone agonizingly slowly.
Paulina Islas-Montantes
Really good pizza by the slice. If you like a doughier pizza, definitely try the pizza here. Not really close to real Brooklyn, deep dish, or detroit style pizza, but still pretty good!
Zachary
Hot Mama's pizza is a wonderful gift from the gods and goddesses of pizza. Their pesto pizza is probably the best they have, though a strong case can be made for the many other flavors they have. Made right in the store, literally 5ft away, Hot Mama's pizza is a necessity.
Keith Vowell
Always tasty pizza, always! Open late, Cap Hill style✌
Richard Eason (MystaRE)
Outstanding tasting pizza by the slice or a whole pie. However, it's a small quaint little restaurant, probably should expand their dining area for their growing clientele.
Trey Kingston
Hot Mama's Pizza is a great spot to grab a slice on the go or for a quick bite to eat. The Pizza is a great and you know exactly what your getting when you walk in. An awesome slice.
Kevin Stambaugh
It’s decent pizza, but Big Mario’s and Pagliaccis both do a better slice. My buddy does really like the pesto pizza, I’m not a fan on not red sauce based pies.
Debra Jackson
My go to pizza place. Excellent pizza and video games to keep the kids busy while watching sports on all of the TVs.
Patricia Taran
The only place I eat pizza in Seattle. Born and raised in NYC so I'm very picky. Ask for a slice of Chef's Choice... Delish only fresh out of the oven... No reheating!!
Charleston Brownfield
When I tell people why I travel to spokane it's for 2 reasons, 1 visiting my sister (family first), 2 hot mamas pizza. Over the passed 10 years I have not gone a visit to Seattle without pairing it up with hot mamas pizza.
Shasta Willson
Tasty pizza after 10 pm? It's almost like Seattle is a cosmopolitan city!
Stands up to any local pizza I've had. Only Brooklyn's in Everett comes close.
Ra WestcoastRA
My fav I will do pics later, as promised my pics! I love this place forever never leave!!
Erik Morales
I'm from New York, and it's pretty hard to find a good pizza place here in Seattle that has that east coast flavor to it (literally). Mama's is definitely spot on. Makes me feel right at home, great job guys!!!
Daniel Graves
Cheap pizza at a great price! Their pizza is consistently delicious and worth the $3/slice. Seating can be limited but it's worth the wait.
J Anen
It might be something approaching ny style but a poor attempt.
Paul Wayne Richardson
Really good, late night, sidewalk style cafe, walk up window and a coke kinda atmosphere. Mike Starr once worked here.
N. Isami
Best pizza around the area.
I used to live in Seattle and I go there basically every week. Although I live in the East now, I always take the time to stop by when I travel back to Seattle.
Brian Lim
One of the best pizza in Seattle.
I love it. Texture of dough, real cheese and other ingredients are garden fresh.
Anudeep Jayaram
I loved the pizza. The portions are huge and very tasty. I had the pepperoni with onions and black olives and I loved it!
Zach Smith
This is one of my favorite late-night chow stops on Capitol hill:). I think they have fair prices, and the staff has always been nice to me, even when they are hella busy or tired. I recommend them to all Hill-side revelers!
Bobbi M.
Always hits the spot, live just grabbing a slice or 2, best slices on the hill. Can't get enough of the Pesto no where else in Seattle has better pesto pie
Fresha Peppa
Sometimes there is a line, like in the early morning when I need some pizza in my life the most! Always receive great service from the staff despite it being busy. And the pizza slices are top notch.
Ángela María
By far the best pizza I've had in the States. I miss a lot the 🍕 we have in my country 🇨🇴, but this one is SO close to the one I'm used to. …
Chris Eps
Delicious. Their pesto pizza is incredible. Stop thinking about it and comparing late night food places. Just grab your wallet and come here. Do it.
Jana Rockwood
Great pizza. Need more locations
Joli Francis
This pizza didn't disappoint after 10 years of not going. They take credit cards now too. So good. The crust is the best.
Robin Chan
I arrived into Seattle late on a Tuesday evening. Most of the other recommended Seattle eateries were already closed but Hot Mama's Pizza was still doing a roaring trade at 11pm.
S Leavitt
Thellways good although not really hot when sitting on the counter while waiting for buyers ordering by the slice. But one of my fav places and the prices can't be beat!
Cesar Yabor
Good pizza, nice service, I'll be back for the next late night munchy binge.
Kelly
I bought the pesto pizza slice and I took one bite and spit it out and before I got home I will be blunt because I have been ill with the stomach flu and on a busy street is threw up violently on my shoes, pants people were everywhere I couldn't help it, but ate it the next day
Dave Boyle
It was good, but I can see that I ordered wrong, it could have been GREAT. Fresh pies would be so much better than reheated slices. I will be back, and order smarter!
Andrew Kim
Going to be hard to find a better value slice of new york style cheese pizza for 3.25 in this economy.
T Taimanglo
Hot but could be cold pizza by the slice. Taste decent no real "specialty" types.
Condewit Matthew
Best sliced pizza on the hill, always make a trip here when I'm hungry.
Marguerite Cottrell (Maggibot)
Best drunk pizza that's still delicious when you sober up. Love the pesto slices. Really great price.
Jake Benson
Great slice of pizza. Good atmosphere and diverse options. Also in a great location so there's lots of options for doing things before and after
Naomi Ishikawa
I'm a huge meat eater, but even their pesto pizza (no meat) is amazing. It's really hard to walk by this place and not grab a slice. I squeed with joy when I found out they deliver.
Jon C
Oh!!! I love this place. It's soooo delicious. It really is the best slice place in the city. I go here all the time and let me tell you - if you go, you will love the flavor of their slices.
Parker
This is the best pizza! Good prices, vegetarian options, big slices.
Richard Hale
I absolutely love Hot Mommas Pizza! Great food and unbeatable hospitality.
Thanks to all the great ladies that put up with us this past weekend!
We’ll see you all soon!
Roy Samson
I've been to a lot of pizza places in different countries and even in New York this place is good it's not great I give 5 stars because portions a huge variety is great and pizza is good not great but good it the great thing is its open pretty late also it's not expensive like other chain pizza places
rock nemeth
I enjoyed their pizza more than most other Seattle pizza shops, closer to an East Coast pizza than the paper thin style so common around Seattle
Andrew Carroll
Delicious pizza, large slices, always hot, variety, killer prices, cold fizzy soda!
What’s not to like! Grab a slice!
Marie Lenac
Crust was not my favorite but the toppings were tasty and not too salty! They are also very efficient so a line out the door doesnt take forever!
Rafael Lopez
Sometimes I wonder why I’m still in Seattle if I could work from anywhere these days. And then when I remember about Hot Mama’s the answer becomes immediately clear.
Anthony Sandov
Good pizza in Seattle. It was my first time visiting Seattle and wanted to try something good well I sure did. I recommend it if you visit Seattle go try them is worth it.
Andy E
Bit of a wait for delivery but the pizza is well worth the wait. Big slices and fresh toppings. Can't go wrong with Hot Mama's.
Vikram Krishnamurthy
One of my favorite pizza spots here. As a vegetarian my favorites are the Mamas choice and the Mamacita
Raniya Lueth
I <3 this place. Stop by for a slice! Veggie slices are the best.
Karan Thakkar
Awesome pizza place. Especially mamacita pizza is the best. Would definitely recommend

Amazing pizza! I drive from my home two city's away just to eat their amazing food
Courtney Di Stasio
These guys are kind and their service is quick. Definitely one of the best slices in Seattle for a very reasonable price.
Diana T
The pesto Pizza is amazing! The slices are thick and cheesy but not dripping with oil.
Daigoro Toyama (daihard)
Superb pizza! Just the right amount of cheese and hard enough but not too crisp crust! ❤️
Chel Moreland
The best slices of pizza on Capitol Hill! And they aren't trying to compete with college tuition prices!!! Meaning, the prices are right 😉 …
Paul Smart
Great option for pizza by the slice -- which is rare in Seattle. My favorite is the pesto pizza. But honestly the pepperoni is really good too!
Daniela Bailey
Please make sure to stop by This tiny pizza joint. It is a landmark in Capitol Hill. I just love the unpretentious vibe of this corner.
Easy, cheap and delicious!
Hiram Hernandez
Cheap and very tasty pizza! Is really near SCC so it is a good option for students to go grab some pizza for lunch or dinner.
Adam Shoulders
My favorite lunch spot during my work day. Excellent crust and toppings! Busy but the staff is awesome!
Seth McKinney
I love mama's. The pizza is almost always excellent. Buy it by the slice - they're huge and a better deal than buying by the pie.
Rana Lutey
One of the best pizzas in seattle. Open really late on the weekend's so great place to stop by after drinking with friends all night.
Crvo
First pie I had here, also best. I'm in love with the slices. 16 years eating Hot Mama's Pizza in Seattle. Thank you!

Best damn pizza in Seattle, no joke. Get the pesto, unless you hate all things good in the world and seek only misery.
Audrey Rollins
This is my favorite pizza place in Seattle. The quantity is large, the slices are big. Delicious New York style pizza. 👍 …

Pizza is excellent. Reminds me of a hole in the wall NYC pizza parlor. Doesn't look like much from the outside but this pizza is fantastic!
Ben Gregoire
My favorite pizza in Seattle.
Fast by the slice pizza, lots of options, staff is super kind, not overly expensive.
Jim JS
Hands down. The best place for a slice of pie. Drunk, get a slice. High, get a slice. Lost your job, definitely get a slice.
Alec Kochevar-Cureton
Not gourmet pizza, but definitely hits the spot after a night out. Also the staff here is so friendly!
Shane Schmidt
This is my favorite pizza place in Seattle. The quality and the value are 10 stars. The staff are funny as well!

Charlie Racz
Best pizza in capitol hill. Reliable delivery always

This is one of the best places to go eat after clubbing in cap hill. Even if it's in the middle of the day. I wish they had more locations in the south side.

I'm from NY. There is nothing that will come close to NYC pizza here, except for Hot Mama's. Not quite there, but damn it's a fine pizzeria.
feven nigus
Very delicious they have free delivery you can buy full pizza or slice.. the workers are very pet friendly..

Akshat Mane
Amazing Pizza! If you're at Cap Hill, YOU MUST TRY it once... Love it.
steven
I like the food could use a little more cheese customer service was terrible that actually yelled at me for not ordering my pizza online and then they short-changed me when they gave me my change that a real nice delivery driver there I gave him a tip the two guys that work the front door were unprofessional
