Reviews of Frēlard Pizza Company
Probably the best pizza, lots of pre-made topping combos or you can customize your pie. The QR code menu option didn’t work for me but the staff were super chill and helpful. Nice outdoor area with a fire.
Comparably to the local competition, this pizza gets 5 stars.
It’s just good pizza. I’ve had several of them and I’ve never been disappointed. Quality ingredients on a pie you can tell someone cared about making. It’s pricey, but it’s good enough to go back for me.
The wings were mediocre. Not crispy, and the sauce was less Buffalo and more southwest chili. They were okay, just confusing.
Pizza was only okay. Flavorless crust doesn't do it any favors, and it was burnt. Beers were tasty but the pours were weak leaving a good inch of clear glass. I'd probably recommend elsewhere. Three stars because I'm feeling generous.
Excellent selection of pizzas with a variety of different (and quite interesting) types of toppings. Staff was absolutely slammed with customers when we arrived but treated us with patience and kindness all the same. If you’re looking for pizza in the area, let this be first on your list.
I can only speak for the pizza, and quality of service. Hands down, Seattle’s best pie. Get yourself a Large Bridge! It has to be large, the 12in isn’t quite as good.
One bite, you all know the rules… 7.9 🤷🏼♂️
My husband and I really like Frelard pizzas and usually always get take out. Frelard has a sister location at Ballard with the same menu, though that's called Ballard Pizza Company, I believe. I docked a star because the pizzas and experience are both inconsistent. Sometimes, wait times are really long, especially on weekend nights. Both restaurants get overwhelmed and I think hit 'pause' on Doordash because Doordash will sometimes stop/stagger more orders from being placed. They need to open another location to meet demand! Also, sometimes you can tell when the restaurants were overwhelmed- the pizza toppings are inconsistent (no standard recipe or do they run out of ingredients?), there is too much corn meal/graininess/burnt stuff on the bottom of the pizza (no time to clean out the ovens in between pizzas?) For the price and quality of pizza though, Frelard and Ballard Pizza Company are still great.
Great spot with plenty of outdoor seating during these covid times.
Excellent selection of pizzas in 2 sizes and a good selection of adult beverages.
Seating area has umbrellas and shade and good spacing between tables.
Staff is friendly and the pizza is a thinner crust and so freaking good. Fresh ingredients and fun twists on classic combos.
Great place!! Staff are friendly, pizza is amazing, and there’s a nice outdoor patio. Outside is dog friendly. Lots of local beers and ciders as well.
Lovely hipster spot for some really good pizza. They have outdoor seating with a hot stone fire and also indoor seating. They have a play area with a chalkboard for kids. Family friendly group friendly place. They play games on their two large tvs. Pizza comes in medium or large size. Medium is probably good for two to share but if you want leftovers for lunch large size is worth it. And you can also choose half and half flavors. I love their full hog and carbonara. However their pizzas are on the salty size especially the pepperoni slices. Over i love it and flavors have been consistent.
Used to love this place but recently it’s not so good. The amount of toppings has gone down, the crust thickness has decreased (great if you like thin crust pizza, bad if you thought you’ll fill up from it) and they also started added 4% Covid fee. The pizza isn’t worth $40 anymore and would highly recommend going somewhere else to save yourself from the disappointment.
Got a half and half on the patio - seating was great, and open. Was not busy when we got in, but it was still early on the day.
I can honestly say it was some of the best pizza I have had in a while. Crust was awesome, sauce had a lot of flavor, and the toppings seemed to be fresh. The tomatoes were not soft and gooey, but rather crisp and fresh.
Wait staff was friendly, and the happy hour menu looked great. Definitely will be back to take advantage of the patio and $1 slices.
Excellent experience at Frelard tonight! We ordered the Big Moses, which changes regularly. Tonight it was prosciutto and roasted garlic with a white base. Service was very friendly and brought my pup a bowl of water, some treats, and lots of pets (dog-friendly patio seating is a huge bonus!). Looking forward to coming back.
Wow, so glad we tried this place!! The pizza was delicious but the real winner was these wings. Can't wait to go back!
Carbonara pizza was one of the best speciality pizzas I've ever had. But the but the slice pepperoni was luck warm and blah. Outdoor seating area a was awesome. Large tables and a fireplace feature to keep warm.
Our family loves this pizza and salad spot! So good! The staff, food and restaurant are outstanding!
We frequently get take out and like the cheese pizza the best, oddly. The proportions of the ingredients are just exactly perfect.
Delicious pizza, great salads. Huge slices!! Yummmm. An awesome space for kids. Fast and friendly service. What's not to love? Have been wanting to go there for ages and now can't wait to go back.
Very pleased with quality, atmosphere and service! Thin, crispy crusts with loads of flavor. There's not much parking, but we went in the mid afternoon on a Saturday and it wasn't too bad.
solid go to neighborhood pizza. never disappoints. I wish they had more veggie options. their specialty pizzas are ALL awesome. great to grab and take to Gas Works for a picnic with friends.
Not only does this place have the tastiest NYC style pizza in Seattle, the salad is on point! Their regualr garden salad is as crunchy and delicious as a slice of their pie. Great atmosphere for friends, family, or even a first date.
Good pizza, not child-friendly. We went here literally because of the family-friendly recommendations found online for this place. Covid shut down the fun long ago and it's looking like the kid space will never reopen, despite the fact that kids are together in school all day, every day now. Add to that the wildly leaping open flames of their bonfire outside and the horribly violent NBC channel on giant screens that had my children transfixed the whole meal - not child-friendly! But, again, the pizza was tasty!
The pizza is very good, I like the thin crust a lot, and the setting is great. But both times I've been there the pizza was incredibly slow. The staff is great, but I've never known any pizza place to take 40 minutes from ordering to bringing it to the table. I won't be going back if I'm already hungry when I arrive.
Some of the best pizza we have had and great service! We had the Whole Hog and Ballard Bridge and they were both excellent, the olives are awesome too! We definitely recommend this pizza and we will be back.
Decent pizza and charcuterie plate. Good for kids. Wait staff was very friendly
Great east coast style pizza, if you want ranch bring your own.
Staff was great, ambiance great, beer selection was great, salad was okay. Pizza was just okay. The pizza channels aspects of New York-meets-Neapolitan, including the trademark “crack” when you fold it. But, the crust was just okay (didn’t add anything, didn’t take away), tomato sauce was over-abundant, cheese was sparse and tasteless, and toppings weren’t evenly cooked (ie, they cool everything for the same amount of time regardless of thickness, etc), and everything was too salty (croutons, cookie, etc). We’re on the hunt for Seattle’s best pizza and didn’t find it here, but would eat here again in a pinch. (PS: suggestion for Frelard: consider using pizza crust croutons in your Caesar salad. I bet they’d be way better than what you’re using.)
It's supposed to be "Thin and crispy", not thin and chewy, which is how I found the crusts to be here!
Salad was very good, albeit a little difficult to serve without it getting it in the take because it wasn't mixed already.
The Veggie Bomb pizza is one of the best vegetarian pizzas in the city! For dessert, you've gotta try the oreo rice krispy treat, it's amazing. Their team is kind and always accommodating! Excellent heated outdoor seating, too.
Do not have a very high expectation for the food here. But they have a nice vibe.
Went right when they opened at 11 on a Saturday. Really engaging staff. Very good service. Good Pizza!!! Nice outdoor space.
First time visit... the pizza was wonderful!
Pretty solid pizza place serving delicious pies. Tomato sauce is sweet, but not too sweet. Crust is right balance of crispy/chewy. Tap list is good too. The server put on the OL Reign match for us when we asked which we appreciated!
I really appreciate their pizza! For the Seattle area it is a good New York style pizza. It is definitely going in one of my top choices for the area.
Really great pizza, but quite expensive. Worth it for a treat every now and then.
Outstanding setup for folks w kids. Great enclosed kids play area with good selection of toys. Very friendly and attentive staff. Great pizza and beer selection. Plentiful high chairs. All round good atmosphere.
I can’t stress enough how great it is to sit at the long table near the kids play area and drink a beer and just feel so relaxed. Why don’t more establishments do this?
It’s also not just families, mix of clientele which is what makes it so great.
Quality ingredients, friendly staff and reasonable prices. A lot of clever ideas foe pizza, but even the staples are delicious. Outdoor patio is crucial for these covid times.
Took a quick stop here on a Saturday afternoon to have some pizza. 9$ for 2 slices is not too expensive for New York style slices. The pizzas were more oily than what I typically prefer however the taste was pretty good. There aren’t enough New York Style pizzas in Seattle but I would want to come back here to try a full pie to see if the taste actually differs if I build my own pizza. For now, my review can be summarized as follows: If you’re looking for a quick pizza stop, so stop by this place. Plus point on their fire pit outside!
Enjoyed the vegetarian pizza and two glasses of the Pinot Gris wine sitting on the sunny deck whilst visiting Seattle and staying just around the corner in Fremont.
Nice decor and vibe. Staff were friendly and efficient. Looked to have a decent local beer selection to choose from. Pizza was absolutely delicious - one of the best I have had. Thin crust was really crispy rather than soggy which Neapolitan style pizza can be sometimes. Enjoyed the leftovers the next day just as much. $17 for the pizza seemed quite pricey but it was tasty! Wine was reasonable but I am never keen when it’s served in a plain tumbler - a lot about enjoying wine is the nose and it’s impossible to get that when the glass is not curved!
Recommend if live or staying locally but stick with the beers?
We were here with a friend who said it was one of her favorites. I can see why. Interesting topping combinations, but the ones we tried worked. I am not a fan of thin crust, but although this is thin, it's still chewy. It's kind of a run-down-looking place, but definitely worth a visit.
Went during lunch on a Sunday and it was relatively quiet, especially toward 1:30/2pm. The kids had a blast in the play area and we actually got to enjoy some uninterrupted food and conversation! The pizza was really nice; well cooked and crispy throughout even when the ingredients were piled high. We had The Troll and a pepp, jalapeno, pineapple that I can't recall the name of. The kids enjoyed the standard cheese slices, and we also got some olives, which were tender and buttery with lots of citrus and rosemary.
The whole family enjoyed our time and the food and we'll be back for sure.
This place serves pretty good pizza. The interior is oddly shaped and the seating ends up feeling a little cramped. However the outdoor area is well designed. Unfortunately the street it is situated on is super busy and loud.
Also, despite being well staffed each time I've gone, it usually takes quite a long time to get your order (easily over half an hour last couple times we've eaten there).
All in all probably better to order out from rather than dine in.
A friend and I dropped in right as they were opening and the women that served us was so charming. She was exact in explaining covid guidelines for dining and upbeat about it all in a nonchalant way. The cheesy bread was basically a pizza and I loved that. We wanted something light and the Italiano salad was perfect. Great easy dining experience in a complex world
Great pizza choices and the beer on tap is super. We like every pizza we've ever had. The house salad is one of our go tos.
We like that it's not too hard to get a seat and the restaurant is kid friendly. They have good high chairs and a play area for kids. The music is upbeat but sometimes verges on too loud.
Excellent pizza choices (the photo doesn't really do it justice). I love it when pizza places offer slices of multiple specialty pizzas rather than just cheese, pepperoni and perhaps one specialty. To be completely honest, I cannot recall what the slices I had were, but I tried two variations and they were both exceptionally tasty. I would definitely come back here if I was in Fremont or Ballard (or Seattle in general) again.
The staff is warm and friendly. I went here twice and both times we were helped with ordering as well as sampling their on tap selection. I'm on the selfish side so I needed my own pie and since I'm also indecisive, the Half and Half option to try two different house pizzas was the best for me. As I'm typing this, I'm finishing the leftovers from here. This place is worth the travel if you live outside the city and you're craving pizza!
Decent pizza, but nothing to write home about. Crisp but not memorable crust. Sauce lacking. Toppings are good. Beer selection is good and hipster vibe is not too pretentious. Service surprisingly good for a hip Fremont spot. I'd eat here again, but wouldn't go out of my way to do it.
Nice pizza and plenty of sitting. Good selection of beers. Thin crust pizza are just not my thing
Super cool place. Very active atmosphere. Pretty classy. I went at night so it was pretty dark inside. They had a lot of props. Service was ok. Waitress wasn't very kind. Pretty crowded inside. Food was very tasteful. Especially the steaks. The steaks and burgers were beyond words. Really delicious. I recommend The Frēlard Pizza Company because the food is really good and it has a very fun and classy atmosphere and ambience.
Nice location and decor. Although I didn't eat on the patio, it was cozy with a large gas fireplace. We tried to stand by it on a chilly night while we were waiting for a table but the hostess kicked us out to the waiting area...I guess we were crowding the patio customers. It would be nice if they had a heater in the waiting area too since there wasn't room inside.
Pizza and beer selection was good. Will be going back.
Great thin crust pizza. Toppings on special pies are traditional with a twist. Children can play in the play area. Great music choices. Cozy fire pit to wait by when you arrive and the place is full - happens often at peak hours, and they don't take reservations. However, I don't mind the wait at all - really worth it!
Definitely my favorite pizza place in Ballard/Fremont area. The service is good, the pizza great and always a decent selection of beer. Sometimes there a few too many kids, but the staff do a good job at keeping them in a certain area. During the summer, the patio is great!
Great pizza, good selection of local beer, and really nice patio.
Amazing pizza and a super vibe at the place here.
It also has a nice big fireplace and some yummy veg and meat pizza options... and a fewer but unique salad options as well.
When I have visited, Freeland had a very nice (but very busy) staff and a great outdoor seating area with fire pits. I just wished I liked the pizza more. Everything had great fresh ingredients. Just not my taste
Amazing pizza 🍕 one of my faves!
Delicious pizza in a fun space. Even though we didn't end up sitting on the patio, it looked really cool. My partner and I split a small salad and the smaller sized pizza, and still had slices to spare. Service was attentive and friendly.
Most excellent pizza, with fresh & interesting toppings, crispy, chewy crust & amazing salads. Great beer selection, good wine. If I have the option, this is my go-to for the best pizza in Seattle. The outdoor seating is wonderful in the summer. The indoors can get a little noisy in the winter, so take advantage of the outside seating when you can.
They have changed the rules on "seat yourself"/"we will seat you" each time we've been there, so it's best to check if there's a host. But even a wait is worth it!
Everytime I've been here we have such amazing service. I love the rotating, seasonal beer and cider selection. And their chef special pizza is always AMAZING. You also can't go wrong with a good basic. Their pizzas are hands down the best. I tell all my friends to go here!
Excellent pizza, great indoor-outdoor space with 2 easily visible big screen TVs and out door fire pit.
Love this place when getting dinner with other families. They have an awesome play area where kids can play that is contained. Amazing pizza, salads and beer and the staff is lovely. One of our most frequented restaurants. Oh and big outdoor space with a fire pit that is great year round.
Great atmosphere, especially in the evening when there is sun on the deck. Good beer, but the pizza is so so. I had Parma with arugula on top. The crust was very bland, I guess the dough wasn’t fermented enough or not enough salt, either sauce or prosciutto had a burnt rubber taste, the sauce was too sweet and tasted like Campbell’s tomato soup. I had 3 slices of 14” pizza and found only 3 small blobs of mozzarella on all of them. There were probably 5 super thin and tiny slices of meat on the whole pie. Lots of arugula though:) I like greens, and don’t mind having a salad on crust, but probably it is not something you expect ordering a pizza. Great location, may be I will give it a try with different kind of pizza.
Great pizza and atmosphere. It's the same as Ballard Pizza Co. but a larger location better for families and sunny days. Will allow dogs in the outdoor eating area only. They turned me Caesar salad (never liked it before) because they do it the right way. Try the Moses pizza, not on the menu. It's toppings chosen daily by the kitchen and you don't know what you're going to get. It's always great and something different.
Eat in only. Great pizza but they are disorganized when it comes to to-go orders. I've had 3... no 4 orders ( I have given up on take out) that either sat waiting in a box while I was standing in the restaurant (told to wait - pie was in the oven. No it was getting cold in a box, or the restaurant gave me the wrong pizza (one time). Eat in or be vigilant on tracking your pick up order. Great patio in the summer. Wish they had real delivery (not grub hub or the like). I feel like writing Ethan Stole a note but maybe the company will read their reviews and take notice.
I enjoyed the pizza here quite a bit. My only regret is that I missed the happy hour. $1 pizza slices. Probably no better deal in town. Seems like a good place for families with small kids because they have a play area. Conversely, if you don't like your dinner with little ones around you might want to avoid. Lots of TVs so would be a good place to catch a game. I'll be going back.
Awesome place for kids that refuse to sit still for a meal as they have a wonderful little "kid pit". Pizza is a thinner crust NYish style. I highly recommend the Whole Hog and Big Moses. The tap list is always changing and features a nice selection of local brews. 3 big TV's for your sports watching needs. Also has a really nice outside seating area with a fire table.
Nice place, it was busy and usually is. Very family friendly with a kids play area inside ( not McDonald's esque more grandma's house). Small salads you could share and still be happy about your portion. Pizza was great and the sauce tastes like a perfect tomato, fresh and naturally sweet. Summer time visit would be nice with the huge fire pit outside.
Grab a slice! Grab a whole pie! Grab a pint! Let the kids play!
Wonderful local spot we keep going back to.
The good
- thin crust pizza is sure to be a hit
- lots of regular and safe bets to choose between
- make your own pie!
- nice selection of craft beer and cider
- wonderful kids play area for kiddos under 5
- great reclaimed space
- outdoor seating with fire to stay warm at night
- open kitchen to watch the magic
- it’s pizza. No frill. Done right.
The bad
- parking can be a challenge during busy times.
Great pizza which you can get by the slice or whole. Also have about 10 local beers on tap with good variety of types. However, what you're most likely to come here for is the ample outdoor seating surrounding the fire pit. Modern and industrial decor which is all the fad now.
If you're old and have a kid there's a kid section with some chalk.
Been open only a couple weeks and I've gone here maybe 5 times, would recommend!
Loved the atmosphere here, indoor/outdoor. They had a fantastic happy hour, and solid pizza. Great beer selection. If you love breweries with outdoor seating, but wish they also served food, this is your place!
Great pizza and customer service. Our waiter Andrew was very accommodating and welcoming. Wish they had a gluten free pizza, but they do have some salads to choose from. Great outdoor fire pit too.
Good pizza. The fat slices looked a bit dead when we came in so we opted for one of their full pizzas. The order at your table service option is great and easy to use.
A few things you should know: the pizza is amazing, the beer is cold, and the play area for kids is a life saver. I went here with my family and the play area was able to instantly placate the little ones while the beer selection placated the adults. The pizza made all of us happy. I will be coming back here in the future with the wife and kids.
It was a delivery stop but it seemed very nice and family friendly. The outdoor seating/eating area has awesome gas fed fire pits that give a super cozy feel
I do love this pizza. The crust is crisp, has just the right amount of salt and the toppings are ingenious. The slices in the case are always a bit of a let down compared to getting a whole pie. But then you have to wait about 20+ mins!
The one weird thing is they've recently added table service and are very strange about where you can sit. If there are screaming kids inside I am going to sit outside, which is waiter serviced only...
Children play area is perfect. The high ceilings are great for it. The pizza is tasty.
I love their beer selection and salads. Parking is lacking so prepare to park on some random street.
This place has great pizza and a warm and airy atmosphere. I come here a lot because they have outdoor seating; even in the fall, there's an electric fireplace out there. And even though I come for the pizza, I often can't resist the arugula salad or their awesome local beer selection.
I give ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for the quality of pizza. Pick up orders or dining in, this pizza is damn good. The restaurant itself is a nice spot, outdoor seating with a fire pit. Reason for 4 stars is the service. There is a lot of attitude here and I hope that can change.
Great pizza but waited far too long. Isolated incident I'm sure.
We sat down around 6:45pm, the place wasn't too busy. Ordered a couple slices for the kids and a medium Whole Hog for the adults. Kids pizza came, was awesome and we eagerly anticipated our pizza. We got it around 8pm well after a table of 12 (who sat after us) got their 3 pizzas.
Wait staff was obviously aware of the situation and checked back several times with the kitchen, always returning with, "Just a few more minutes."
We were patient and polite, and they made it right by comp'ing the medium pizza and throwing in a couple of rice krispy treats to make up for the inconvenience.
The pizza was awesome even after the wait, but the server staff was very apologetic and showed attention to our plight.
I will go back when I am in the neighborhood and try again. Rating might very well improve then.
This is my go-to restaurant on a Friday night. I love the veggie bomb pizza with a garden greens salad. I just moved from Seattle to Chicago and I miss this spot so much! The staff is great, atmosphere is very Seattle casual, and the food is consistently wonderful!
The HH is awesome! $1 big slice with your drink (sodas too, if alcohol isn't your thing). Beer selection is eclectic. I had the grapefruit cider paired with the Daily Garlic slice--so amazing! Perfect date combo, in my opinion. ;) If you want to be healthy (while eating pizza), their arugula salad with prosciutto is bomb!
Most recently went on Sunday for HH. Service was prompt and super friendly. If you have little ones, there's a sweet play area. The kids I saw were having a blast. There were tons of parents with their kids, actually, but not a single kid cried the entire time we were there.
I liked it. The staff had the old school Seattle vibe. There's a spot you can eat outside next to a roaring fire. The pizza is really good. Just the smell of the pizza is so overstimulating to my taste buds that I can't wait for it to cool down. I burn the hell out of my tongue.
Partly covered outdoor patio with a gas fire pit. A kids area inside with a huge chalkboard and toys. TVs on the wall for sports fans. Rainer for the willing and microbrews for the non. Pizza by the slice and by the whole pie. I haven't had a bad combo yet. It's really good thin crust so if you're a deep dish fan you're not going to find that heavenly body here. Oh yeah and super friendly, helpful staff.
They have amazing pizza, a wonderful atmosphere that is grown up but family friendly, and excellent customer service. They even have a nice outdoor eating section that I can't wait to try in the summer months.
Definitely try this pizza place!
Waitress and host were friendly and attentive but our food took about 50-60 minutes to come out. At least they hooked us up and made the pizza free, so we just had to buy beer. The pizza was really tastey especially cause we were so hungry after waiting!
Finally!!! Actual real crusty chewy pizza crust in Seattle! Yay! Never settling for soft sad bread dough crusts again!!! 'Staple and Fancy' is everything I've ever wanted on a pizza. Chopped salad was also pretty amazing; perfectly dressed greens, expert presentation, on point. Friendly staff, sweet jams, great beverage selection, super cool kids pit, very clean place overall, I'm stoked.
Pizza was really good. Thin crust but still sturdy, and able to fold the slice. Service was awesome. The place can get very loud when crowded, but the outside seating is generally quieter.
This place is great. Went last night and the were pretty packed but service was still great. Food took a bit longer than I presume it normally would because of the sheer volume of people that were there but it was worth the wait! Great fire grilled pizza, great atmosphere, and good beer. Do you really need to know anything else?
Frelard Pizza has the best staff. They are always super nice, no matter who it is, and always walking around chatting with people. Their pizza is actually pretty good, and they always have good prices on their beer selection. Getting a large pie instead of a few slices or even a small pie is the best way to go.
Awesome kids play area that is partially closed in and with great toys. Pizza and beer was delicious and the prices were reasonable. $2.75 for a large slice of delicious pizza 🍕 during happy hour was amazing. I wish I lived closer 😭. …
I’ve been going to Frelard/Ballard for months now ever since my ex introduced me. The pizza is great, but I am mostly writing a review due to my experience last night. I’m a single mom of two small kiddos, and we rarely go out to eat as it almost always ends in a giant mess and tears (for everybody). But last night we braved the experience to grab some pizza since I didn’t have the energy to make dinner. Over the course of dinner, my almost three year old spilled his water and I just slapped down some napkins until I could clean up the mess as we left. One of the servers came over and wiped up the napkins and all of the water, then came back and bussed my plate, then finally offered us a cookie to bribe my kiddos out to the car (which worked, by the way). It’s rare that I feel comfortable bringing my kids into a restaurant by myself, so here’s a huge shout out to the server for making me feel human. It’s the smallest things that make a difference and we will definitely be back.
The food is good but the wait is long and the staff is incredibly rude. The kids play area used to be fun for kids now it's incredibly dirty and last time we were there they had nothing for the kids to draw with or on. It bums me out because the food is really fantastic and I love the idea that there is a play area there, my daughter used to love playing there. The past three times I have gone the wait was ridiculous and the staff was so pretentious and rude it ruined my evening each time. If I can help it I will not go back to this restaurant.
Busy pizza place serving whole pizza and by the slice. Serves some local beer, and there might be a waiting list. Pizza was ok, but with a surprising amount of garlic. Outdoor seating seems to be nice.
Don't really get the hype. Sure, its kid friendly but then most pizza joints are these days. The pizza base was a little chewy and the toppings a little bland. Took a while too. Nice space though, and staff generally attentive.
If you have little ones but don't want to go to Peter Piper, this is it. They have great pizza and an area filled with toys, puzzles, and a chalk wall. My husband and I can sit and eat while we watch our son playing, having fun with the other kids.
Looks like they're still learning how to take on the demand of take away dining in the ToC (Time of Covid), so the kitchen was pretty backed up. But when the food arrived and we camped out in the truck to eat, we quite enjoyed the flavors awaiting us (Veggie Bomb pizza and the Italiano salad). Would love to try again when the New Normal settles in a bit.
Frelard and Ballard Pizza Company are one of my favorites. Which one I visit depends upon where I am at. Consistency is uniform regardless of location. Fondly reminiscent of East coast pizza, but with the local flavor of Northwest toppings. I don't live in the Ballard area any longer, but this pizza brings me back frequently.
Awesome food! Great service! Very friendly service!!!
Cozy dining experience. The food was good and I enjoy the customizability.
Some of the best pizza I've had in Seattle. The crust is crispy, the sauce is tasty but not overwhelming, high quality ingredients. The outdoor seating is phenomenal.
Excellent Pizza! The very best Seattle has to offer in the category.
Add to that an incredible dining space and service that goes beyond what any reasonable person can expect = Frēlard is an absolute must for any discerning eater in the Seattle metro area.
I keep forgetting, they don't open until 4pm, as much as I'd like them to open sooner. The pizza and salad are good and they have a good beer selection. Sometimes they mess up your order, but they always make it right.
One of my favorite pizza places! Check out their happy hour- buy a drink and get a fatty slice for $1. Take a bit long if you want whole pizzas, very quick for slices
One of the best pizza places in Seattle. It has pizza by the slice or the pie, with options to-go or dine-in. When there is nice weather, they is also a nice patio outside to sit at. Additionally, inside there is a specific area for kids to play.
What an incredible group of people at Frelard Pizza! We were getting married at a venue nearby, and reached out to Frelard to see if they'd be able to accommodate a group for our rehearsal lunch. They weren't normally open at the time we were requesting, but opened early for our group and put together special pricing for the lunch. It was the perfect set up, casual but with some really good food, and we were so grateful that they worked with us in that way. Throughout the entire process, they were very helpful, responsive, and helped keep it within our budget. The food, drinks, and ambiance was exactly what we were looking for, and we truly couldn't be more happy with how things turned out. Besides the rehearsal lunch, we go here often for lunch or dinner. It is a really awesome place, so definitely check it out! Thanks to Toby and the entire staff at Frelard Pizza Co. for being so helpful!
Frelard isn't the best pizza in town, but it very enjoyable. The crust is crisp and the flavors are rich. Most importantly, though, is that the atmosphere is comfortable. Grab a microbrew, a slice, and relax the work week away!
Visiting Seattle with a busy toddler and the internet recommended Frelard. Pizza & salad were good, play area was great, but the service was exceptional. Olivia tolerated us taking up a table for hours, held my wandering daughter and tolerated her adoration, and was a true delight.
I wish I could give this place five stars because their pies are so darn good. But here is the thing...does anyone else find it really weird that when you come in your greeted to look at the slices AND have the option to pay for your meal upfront AND THEN get table service? I've come in many times where I have gotten slices with friends paid for the food, tipped, then went to sit at a table only then to be "served" by a waiter who waits on us better than most fancy restaurants. This then sparks the conversations between friends as to whether or not we need to now leave another tip for the guy who refilled our water glasses and asked how we are doing?
Frelard (named because it is between Freemont and Ballard, get it?) is a nice space that will feel very familiar to the Ballard or Freemont crowd with a large open garden seating area, complete with huge fire pit, and even garage doors that give the interior an airy feel. It's basically a cross between Freemont brewing and every Ballard bar. The pizza is good, but didn't stand out to me. The crust was excellent, but on the carbonara, I thought the egg was a bit heavy handed and hid the excellent meat toppings. It was basically like a breakfast sandwich. The slices are huge and fairly thick and get served on a nifty table integrated stand. The arugula salad was very nice with some sliced prosciutto in it. I like that they had ample parmesan, red pepper flakes, and oregano on every table. Service was very hipster and took a decent amount of time for the pizza but at least it was fresh. The beer selection was also pretty good with several local brews.
Great crust! Loved being able to order by the slice so we could all get different pizzas. Very good Ceaser salad and outdoor seating.
The online ordering system disapparated my order. I showed up to pick up my disapparated pizza, and it wasn't there. The staff were super friendly, and fast, and got me my pizza immediately, and gave me a free beer for the trouble. Also, the pizza was delicious, and tasted like a unicorn came in my mouth, with extra prosciutto of course.
Our go-to pizza / quick bite joint. Pizza and salad are excellent. And pizza by the slice means my wife and I don't have to agree! The caesar salad is my favorite in Seattle.
Very friendly service, in a fun location. The pizzas were large but not great. The base was thin base, which I like, but too hard and the pizza was oily.
Yonder on tap. Plenty of outdoor seating. Good pizza with good ingredients.
4 stars for the amazing pizza and beer selection, minus 1 star for having to go back through the line to get another beer. The space is a little nicer than their Ballard location.
Delicious pizza, yumm local beers Great outdoor dining setup #COVID-19 state restrictions. Wear a woolley hat and you'll have a great time.
Great pizza. Half and half to keep the Mrs happy. Jalapeno pineapple pepperoni for the win. Nice selection of local beers and a great indoor\outdoor vibe
Great place! Huge and delicious pizzas. The happy hour is really good and they have some games in a small space for kids.
Great pizza, good beer selection. Nice patio with fire pit. Good for whole pies or by the slice. Great happy hour as well.
Frelard Pizza is one of my favorite pizza places in Seattle. Salads, slices and beer selection are all good. There is outdoor seating and a play area for kids.
How can a simple pizza be so damn good? Love this place. The fire pit out front, the service, and the food... excellent.
The pizza was great, nice thin crust, fresh ingredients! The mint oreo gelato was #AMAZING!!!!!!! So delicious, the mint flavor tasted fresh and crisp. I loved the gelato!!
Possibly my favorite pizza place in Seattle. Love the crust and the atmosphere inside and out. Great play space for kids. Good beers on tap.
Family friendly. Great pizza. Friendly staff. Delicious beer. I go here more often than I probably should.
Ordered a gift card via phone to give as a Christmas present for family that lives locally and enjoys the restaurant. Super helpful and friendly customer service! Just wish they could mail me some pizza, too! :)
Tastey pizza choices, the Ballard bridge is a personal favorite, and the big Moses usually delivers. Salads are a pretty good size as well. Single slices are available too
Really good Neapolitan style pizzas in a great, casual atmosphere. Outdoor seating is good for dog lovers and they have attentive staff.
KID FRIENDLY! Children play area inside. Great outdoor space with large fire. Food was just ok. I honestly wouldn't recommend unless you had children. Service was good
Excellent pizza and their other food. Cesar salad is top notch. Very nice play area for the kids and the outdoor space is great.
I had a great large pizza that tasted really well. Maybe a little expensive. A bit loud in there but I didn't mind. Staff was super friendly and nice.
The olive appetizer is a hefty portion soaked in olive oil and chilli flakes. The good juicy green olives. The have pizza too that's pretty good too.
Ethan Stowell's second pizza place takes the best parts of his Ballard Pizza Company and makes them even better.
Consider the Big Moses. Also highly recommended: the argula salad.
Some of the best pizza in Seattle. Amazing tomato sauce and quality ingredients. Nice outdoor patio. Serves beer and wine as well.
Great family friendly spot for game day, sunny days or any days rain or shine. Great outdoor space with a dore out for cold nights, and massive TVs with good seating to enjoy a game.
Delicious eats and great local pizza. Very friendly service and super easy to order from the table.
Very generous portions! We were able to find street parking behind the restaurant, and there was plenty of seating outside.
Great service, and friendly staff.
Food is decent. Pay at the counter sort of deal. Cool vibe with tons of outdoor seating. Nothing really extraordinary though. I live a few hundred feet away and I've only been a few times.
Same company as Ballard Pizza Company but this store delivers east of 15th Ave. Deliciousness is on par however don't expect the pizza to be a hot or fresh as if you would if you visited them.
Best happy hour and the kids area makes dining out with the 3 kiddos a breeze. This location has way better service than the Ballard location.
Great pizza and nice staff. I wish they had some more creative pizza options utilizing more vegetables. Also skip the cookies.
Delicious pizza and relaxed atmosphere. There is a kids area and great outdoor space. Rotating beer taps are a bonus.
Awesome pizza, will go back
Delicious. But due to supply chain issues there is a 4% surcharge on orders. FYI
The pizza was just ok. The crust and sauce were lacking something. Our service was fine, but overall nothing special.
Liked the hog special and the Parma. Ballard bridge wasn't too impressive. Great friendly staff and a kid friendly place. (Or at least saw a lot families with kids)
Good pizza, good cider for cool kids, and great outside seating that rivals Fremont Brewery except they have more than just beer (hooray).
By far my favorite pizza place. Everything is so good and fresh. Great service and comfortable atmosphere!
This is a tasty local shop. Eat their pizza. You will not be disappointed. Nice vibe on a summer night with big community seating outdoors.
Great pizza and beer. I love the Caesar salad! There's also a great patio area and place for the kids to run around.
Great pizza, horrible prices. I came in for a beer after work, $7.75 for a standard ipa. Add a dollar tip and that's just about the price of a sixer.
Many good pizza choices, great sizes, wonderful dough.
Daily garlic by far the best slice I've had. You sure won't go on any dates after but for 3,50 a slice it's hard to only get one
Amazing pizza! Love that it's dog friendly and has a good selection of local ciders!
This was a great place to meet up with friends and keep my 3 year old occupied. The food was delicious, the service great, and great kid play area. I'll definitely head back here.
Love this pizza restaurant. I believe that is owned by the same folks who own Ballard pizza co. The pizza taste like a slice of NYC and the staff is amazing. Thanks guys!
Good place for pizza and a drink on the patio by the fire 🍺🍕🔥
Arrive early to get a good patio spot and to avoid the crowd. ⌚🍽
Patio is dog-friendly 🐶
10/10 best pizza I had in Seattle that was not named Serious Pie. Great spot. Super chill atmosphere.
Amazing pizza and amazing customer service!
Get the MOSES. It's the chef's special ... changes everyday and they don't actually list what it's in the pizza so it's a bit of a surprise. I've ordered this several times and it's never disappointed.
Pizza was legit. Spicy olives on the veggie bomb made the pizza for me. Great atmosphere and good beers.
Great crust plus perfect blend of cheese and sauce.
Delicious thin crust pizzas with a chill eating area indoors and outdoors! Decent kid's play pen to keep them all contained ;)
First time here today and ordered the Big Moses. Great crust and choice of toppings. Would love to come back again.
The pizza was great, our server was great, the front patio was great, and the prices were very reasonable. Definitely will be back.
Great pizza. Big. Awesome indoor play area for kids. Really cool fire pit outside.
Great indoor / outdoor seating options. Nice outdoor fire. Great big pizzas. Chill vibes all around.
I loved the pizza, awesome crust!
Good pizza. Great place to come with 4 kids; they loved the play area
Tasty pizza, good service, lots of TV's inside and the outdoor gas fire burning best the tables is a big win for me.
One of the best, family-friendly restaurants in town. Also, some of the best pizza I've had recently!
Great Pizza with a thin crust! We usually get a salad as well and it never disappoints!
They're all right They used a lot of fresh ingredients and their team works really hard to make good pizza.
Good crust, decent pizza overall, good salad. Probably wouldn't go out of my way to return.
Pizza is good. Very family friendly. Service was slow and pizza took a long time.
I love the pizzas here and the outdoor area is perfect for a casual summer dinner with friends!
alright pizza, 3.5, more medium crust than thin. better than zeeks, which i’d give a 2 or 1.5, i prefer veraci.
Some of my favorite pizza in town! If you like a New York style pizza, it doesn't get much better than this in Seattle.
Quick slices of pizza. Large TVs and a cozy outdoor fire pit. Great closed area for kids to play.
Great pizza, nice outdoor seating. Can't wait to go back.
Love this place! Delicious pizza, great salads, awesome staff, and the kids area is perfect!
Mmmmmmm........ Totally hit the spot! Great service, fun ambience, DELICIOUS thin crust salty pizza, pyrotechnics outside, and did I mention everything was amazing? 😊 …
Delicious gourmet pizza and great beer selection. One of my favorite places to go in Fremont/Ballard
Pizza and brews are excellent. It is nice to see a family friendly, comfortable restaurant.
Good pizza. We order half and half combination ,very good, thin crust.
Pizza was super good, and they managed to squeeze in our large party on short notice, too.
Always amazing. Deeeeeeeeelicous pizza, good beers, great atmosphere, and kid friendly. Total win.
Amazing pizza and ceasar salad! Thin crust and perfect sauce
Pizza was slightly burnt yo 😂 he point it was dry and crisp. Cesar salad was average, kind of tasteless. …
Delish. Nice spot to catch up with friends in both summer and winter months. A bit pricey for a pie but the atmosphere is worth the splurge.
Great pizza, good beer, nice atmosphere.
Love this spot with kids. They are very welcoming and friendly to families with kids. Great vegetarian options as well. The kid area is great for younger kids.
The pizza was great and my children loved the play area. Excellent family atmosphere.
Good pizza, good beer choices on tap and a kid's play area. A parent's dream!!
Some of the best pizza in town. I love the fungi pizza and they have some nice beers on tap.
Fun place. The salads are quite large so plan to share if you are also going to have pizza
Pizza here is one of the best ones I've tried in the area. And the environment is just perfect too.
I love this place! Best pizza in Seattle and they have a little play area for the kiddos.
Great selection of pizza! Patio is a great place to sit to enjoy the summer weather, friends, and tasty pizza!
Really good pizza. Bigger than normal pizza sizes.
Great play area for toddlers and pretty good pizza too. I like the Moses which is basically the chef's choice.
Very good Pizza, very tasty.
Not cheap, but very tasty pizza. Beer and wine available, as well.
Got delivery. Pizza was OK.. Not much cheese, like was some artistic pizza or something. I was hoping for regular cheesy pizza. Kinda pricey too. Yea, was meh.
Pizza ready exactly on time and tasted good. Only knocking off 1 star because I think it's a little bit over priced.
Pretty friggin great pizza, accommodating staff.
Wish they took cash.
*Pretty good pizza, cool side area "kid pit" and fairly prompt service
Tasty pizza, delicious brews, and a fantastic kids play area. Definitely checks all the boxes!
The pizza here is great, along with a great atmosphere to bring your family or party.
Great pizza, great kids space but sometimes staff can be a bit hard to work with
Pizza is as good as at Ballard Pizza Co. Great to be able to grab take out. The space is going to be great in the summer.
Solid pizza in a family friendly and cozy location. Grab a beer and a slice and slide up to the fire pit.
Great kids area that our two year old loves. We love the pizza too!
Great pizza! Great beer! Kid friendly. Patio with fire pits.
Pizza was great and staff is friendly. I liked the outdoor seating.
Loved the environment and fire pit , pizza was a little underwhelming. But still enjoyed.
Unbelievably great every time! My favorite pizza in Seattle
Good service, nice people, good pizza, but they kept getting my order wrong
Terrific atmosphere with equally terrific staff and food. A nice outdoor patio with fire pit and some flat screens inside to catch a game.
Great pizza and a fun place to bring kids. The out side fire does the trick on a cold day.
Great food, customer service, and atmosphere. I wish I had photos to share but the food came and was gone, way too fast for photo ops.
Great pizza and great ambience. Laid back atmosphere to meet friends and enjoy a drink.
The best pizza in the whole world, based on everywhere in the world that I have lived, which includes the Med.
Good pizza, lots of outdoor seating and great place for kids
Great outdoor area for the summertime and HH pizza is $1 per slice if you get a drink
Good place in the summertime. Pretty standard fare pizza, nothing special.
Some of the best pizza I've ever had. Try the Big Moses
Great layout and cool that it has space for kids. Pizza left a bit to be desired though.
Solid pizza. Like the outside seating. Staff was friendly

Great Pizza and a big outdoor seating area and good beer selection.
Loved the pizza and the service was excellent. Oh yeah and the pizza was amazing!
So yummy and the tent set up for outdoor dining with the fire pit is great.
Awesome pizza, good beer. Outside area is great in the summer.
Great pizza. Service always seems a little upset about how busy it can get
Covered outdoor seating with large fire in the middle, limited wine/beer available.

Fun times. Great pizza + beer. Interesting, open atmosphere.
Wish my slice was fresh, but was a great pizza none the less.
Best value for pizza in Seattle (just as good as Serious Pie, but at a reasonable price)
Came because of kid play area. Pizza was good, but kid play area looked dirty, could use a cleaning.

Ideal spot if you’ve got little ones and craving pizza + a beer or two.
Amazing pizza, lots of kids is the down side :(
Great pizza, casual outdoor vibes
They don't have fountain drinks on tap. Otherwise, a good place to eat.
Nearly perfect Neoplitan pizza. I just found the sauce to be a tad too salty.
