Have been wanting to try this place from a long time. On our way back in the night at 10 pm we drove to this place. Placed an order for 2 catfish combos on their website and the order was ready in just 20 minutes. This place is a take out and located inside a school. I was struggling to find this place but the owner is really down to earth and very humble and came to deliver my order outside. The catfish combo was really amazing. Their hush puppies and the sauce on side were mind blowing. I am definitely going back to this place again. The food is really 😋

Super friendly staff and the owner was very personable. We enjoyed the sampler,hush puppies and shrimp box. Everything was fresh and crispy. Cheesecake was so fye! I almost forgot, that sauce was everything and more too! Wish I could’ve brought it back to Nashville.

Don't be fooled by the daycare upstairs-- this place is a hidden treasure, worth hunting down! The fried oysters, catfish, and halibut were all perfect (and I have high standards, having been raised on deep-fried pond critters in southeast Texas), and the hush puppies and tartar sauce are equally fantastic. Oh and the house made hot sauce... don't skip out on the hot sauce if you're getting oysters (which you should).

The best fried catfish and shrimp I've had yet. Fast service, the order was ready in 10 mins. The flavors were subtle and delicious. The breading was light and crispy. Even after eating two boxes I feel unencumbered from the fried seafood. The perfect late night snack!

Fish sandwich and sampler box of fried fish were both mouth-wateringly delicious, and I usually don’t even particularly like fried food. The special sauce and homemade hot sauce were also amazing. I will be eating here again, I am already craving another Fish Sandwich. The fries were the only thing that disappointed- it’s actually kind of laughable how bad the fries are, compared to how good the food they make themselves is.

I had recently heard about The Fish Box and decided to visit on a recent Friday. I ordered online and went to pick it up. The storefront is located down some stairs on East Spruce between 20th and 21st for those who may have trouble locating the place. The catfish I ordered was really good. The catfish came in nuggets and they were lightly breaded and full of flavor. Like they say, their marinade got rid of any possible muddy flavor. The catfish came with a good amount of fries and a couple hush puppies rounding out a great meal at a really nice price. I hope to return soon!

I saw this spot on Instagram/Yelp so I had to try it out! I got the sampler and ordered online thru their website. The food looked amazing. Was happy it came with multiple sauces but the best was their homemade sauce. The fish was delicious, all equally great! The hush puppies was on the hard side, perhaps the result of driving ~20 minutes home. The fries were good. I’d definitely come back!

It's not really a restaurant. It's a commercial kitchen that's located inside a school building or community center. You order the food online or by phone and they will bring it outside to you near the doorway. Someday they will become an actual restaurant and it will be amazing. The food is mighty tasty.

This place is a little hard to find since it’s in a school but the quality is great. We had the fried shrimp and salmon and it was all very fresh tasting as well as good portion sizes.

Decided to check out this place. Since my partner is catholic and can't eat meat on Fridays and man this place didn't disappoint. The portion sizes were huge and the prices were quite reasonable. You can feed a person for an average of $10. We will definitely be back.

$28 for a combo seems a bit overpriced for a Togo order. Fish was good, fries were soggy/stale. Perhaps fried long before the fish. Not easy to pickup the order, no waiting area or parking.

Don't expect a restaurant. This business is in the basement of the building above it which I think is a church. You must order online. And pick up. You can't go in and order. Once you are there, call n hive your order number. They will come out n hand u ur order. They will get your order mixed up so don't be surprised if instead of their Crumbled cheesecake (hands down THE BEST one in my whole life) you get some other dessert. Or ur order comes without the side u ordered and instead you find something else in your bag. When they run out of domething they just make do with what they have.

The catfish plate was amazing. Perfectly fried and crispy, and the meat was incredibly juicy. Really liked that they gave you a couple hushpuppies as well, as they really round out the plate with the fries. I do wish they gave a few more fries (there was plenty of fish), but overall a great value and really high quality fish! Also have to mention - really glad they're open so late. It's the only place open within walking distance for a late dinner.

I recently had the The Sammich! 😋 It is the finest fish sandwich I've ever had! Like fine sushi the The Sammich is excercise in balanced subtle flavors. I attribute that to the quality of the ingredients used in an already excellent recipe and the evident care in the construction of the Sammich. A lot of love, heart and soul is put into every Sammich! The fish, bun, lettuce, mayo and sauce work together in harmony and are in perfect balance. The batter is quite delicious and the fish itself moist, tender with flavor superior to, Cod, Halibut and Pollock! The fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy! Ivar's should be very afraid of the Sammich. Until now I never had catfish so good!

Really good fish and chips. Pretty good dill sauce. Highly recommended. It is a little confusing to drive up to the little school, but the kitchen is located upstairs so give them a call or message and Ibrahim brings your order down. One of the best fried fish places in the country.

Great service !!!!! The salmon is deliciously fried to perfection . The lumpia was a secret I didn't know that is on the menu, and the cat fish honestly is the best tasting cat fish I've had in a very long time . Fish box doesn't hold back on portions ... What I mean by that is you get more fish then just fried breading ... If you are a lover of fried fish you'll understand .. but all in all if your the type to read reviews GO TRY ANYTHING ON THE MENU you won't be let down .

I guess this is a new place. I really liked the fish sandwich & the mushrooms. Really good batter/ breading. Good bread too. The fries were the only thing I didn't really care for. The person I was with felt the exact opposite. I should say, however, this person is extremely difficult to please in almost any situation or circumstance. The food is good. I would totally go back & try the other fish on the menu, as well as get the sandwich again.

Holy SMOKES!!! Easily the best fish and chips I’ve had maybe anywhere outside my home. Finally a place that seasons their fish! I got the sampler and everything in it was phenomenal, each fish had its own seasoning to bring out its flavors and the breading was just right-very light and just coating the fish. I’ve never had fried salmon like this and it was so good. I grew up with catfish fry ups and this rivaled that of my family’s. Superb. The fries and hush puppies were also big stars. Great prices. Blown away. My new go to and only place I’ll get fish and chips from now on.

This is apparently a mobile kitchen. It was inside a kindergarten when I went. But, as far as food quality, you will hear no complaints from me. Food is delicious and affordable. Just order ahead to minimize your wait

Had a fishbox with salmon & halibut the other day a couple months ago when they were still located in Fremont, and now ordered one of the newly introduced shrimp boxes - damn! This was some really, really delicious dinner we had, we’ve both really enjoyed it, as well as the home made sauce. Definitely a recommendation when you wanna have decently priced, delicious, authentic sea food!

I <3 fish, and I was super-happy to find this place. We ordered online, and then I stopped by and picked it up. Everything we ordered was very delicious -- fish (we got fried catfish and the sampler), hush puppies, onion rings. I wish I had pictures to share, but I should have thought about this earlier. ; ) I am looking forward to getting more of their delicious fried fishies soon.

Very good fish chips. They also have hush puppies the were delicious. I hear the have wings so im going to try them next time. They also have a home made dipping sauce that was fire. Give them a try you won't regret it.

I'm not a big fisher eater but from time to time I crave catfish. I kept seeing The Fish Box pop up on DoorDash so we're like why not try it and show support for a B.O.B. Before our food arrived I read the reviews just to get some idea on what to expect. Let me just say this some people must not season their food because chil' The Fish Box put their soul into my food tonight, LOL. We ordered the Sammich (simple but bomb and the catfish is the star), catfish & fries with hush puppies (catfish was moist, fries not soggy and hush puppies took be back to when Roger's was on MLK & Union) and the salted caramel Nutella brownies, just Bruh! In the words of my son "mom not goin' lie but that was slappin' " The only thing I was disappointed about was we ate it all. If you get a chance to try this hidden treasure I suggest you do.

first of all, love the fact that when you order over the phone you can pay via venmo or cash app. location was confusing at first but then realized it's in the neighborhood daycare so you just call when you arrive to pickup. food was so delicious, we ordered 2 sammiches, one shrimp and catfish combo as well as the nutella caramel brownies and it was all so good - the sauces were the shining star. totally coming here again soon.

Don’t forget a pecan pie bar - and an extra for tomorrow because you won’t be able to wait until the next time you order, they’re that good! it's okay. I wanted to try the catfish so badly, that I over-hyped it in my mind. I was mostly disappointed that it was barely room temperature and a bit dry, which was disappointing. The lumpia was AMAZING, tho. Would absolutely go back for that. Pass on the cinnamon bites. not worth the price for the portion. it was also dry and too much cream cheese frosting

This place is new to the CD area. The food was good but its not exactly a restaurant. When you arrive make sure you give yourself enough time to find street parking or bring someone with you to pick up the food. You'll get an email telling you when it's ready and you have to meet them at the front door of the establishment.

Definitely order ahead. Might be different during the week or daylight hrs but on a Saturday evening, you gotta order ahead. Also yes it's in the big building the GPS takes you too. Now with all that being said, it's AMAZING!!!! Worth the wait in the cold. Everything was seasoned soooo good. Fresh and super tasty. The tater sauce is 🔥. Being from Louisiana it's hard to find good southern cooking and this was fabulous. Fantastic hidden treasure.
