Reviews of Farvahar Persian Cafe

Most delicious meal I’ve had at Pike Place! Incredibly warm and friendly staff who made us feel welcomed (they gave us a salad while we waited!) and the food was so tasty! You can tell it was made with expertise and love. We had the fesenjoon and baghali polo. Would recommend this spot to everyone!
Daniel Fry
Amazing food! The owners were very gracious hosts and served us a bean and beef dish loaded with fresh herbs. Delicious! And the saffron rice was fragrant and perfectly cooked. We would definitely recommend and will be back.

Absolutely delicious! Had the Kebab #6 and Borani Eggplant (kashke bademjan) and both were super yummy. Very reasonably priced and large portions. Staff is super kind and attentive. Arguably the best value for money in the area and a Pike Place must!

Pike place market area is so busy on the weekend. We randomly went into this place. The food was surprisingly delicious. Strongly recommend.

Friendly staff, very good food. I have visited a few times in the past using meal pal, but I am glad I finally went in and ordered from the full menu.
The lentil soup will warm you up if your sitting there in the winter.
Ask for hot sauce, it's delicious.
Again, the people working were great, they were happy to answer questions.
Recommended and I will definitely be back in the future.

Delicious Fesenjoon. It has been a nice mild tart from pomegranate and texture from walnut. Not oily. Great flavor. Proprietor is very helpful and welcoming.
September 2022 update. I returned and I had another perfect fesenjoon. You know it's an excellent resturaunt when they give consistently excellent food.

This place lives up to its name and more. During my visit in Seattle this was one of the best meals and definitely the only best value for money and least expensive and most satisfying meal that I have had. There are plenty of spots around this little cafe that are really popular and have queues but if you haven’t tried this place you are missing out. Their ingredients are fresh and the food tastes amazing!! The owner/gentleman running this place is a wonderful man and super kind to everyone. He has a calming aura and was really hospitable to us when my mom needed a place to sit and rest for a bit as she was tiered walking. We had no intentions to buying food from this place initially and he was totally okay with it. He even offered my mom a bottle of water and said that she could rest there for as long as she needed. That was just fantastic as we weren’t necessarily getting that from other more popular spots that were either packed or just didn’t want a table to be taken or had the whole Covid agenda going on. It was nice to see humanity and someone empathising. Anyway, the next day we decided to give this place a shot, and man, we absolutely loved it!! My mom got the veggie platter with stew and rice which was amazing and we also got a chicken sandwich which was Delish!! Absolutely recommend this place not only for the amazing food but also to support this business run by kind wonderful souls.

Amazing meal and awesome service! Super friendly staff that served us a big plate of mouthwatering food. Extremely filling dishes that I personally enjoyed for a low total cost. Hope to come again next time I am in the area!

It's been ages since I've seen a Persian restaurant and I'm so glad I found this one! I'm gluten and dairy intolerant, they were understanding and let me know what I could and couldn't eat. There were plenty of options! My son had the #2 and I had the #7. They were both very good and the price for the amount of food was very reasonable. The service was excellent, helpful and attentive! They went above and beyond. When I'm in Seattle I will definitely be back! My only issue was that this restaurant didn't come up when I did a search of gluten free restaurants. I was actually going to go to the Thai restaurant next door when I saw a sign for Persian food and asked if there was anything I could eat. When they told me yes it was an easy decision.

Kabab Sandwich: 10/10. Delicious, really big, made to order, really fresh ingredients, very friendly staff! If you’re around the pike market area definitely try them out.
The Borani Eggplant was also delicious!
Walter Smith
Our meal was delicious! The lamb and kabob kubedeh was very tasty . . . The rice is delicious too . . . It's seasoned with saffron. The lemonade is excellent too, freshly sqeezed lemons with a hint of rose water. The service is excellent and the owner is very pleasant!
Hieu Nguyen
The food was excellent and hotly served. Service was outstanding!
Matt DiTullio
Excellent food and great service! The borani eggplant, hummus, and lentil soup were both very tasty and hearty.
Oleg Moskalensky
Great Persian restaurant. Excellent lunch choices and prices, friendly & quick service. They offer sandwiches, plates, soup, salad... In other words - a perfect lunch spot. My lamb sandwich was delicious. I'll definitely be back!
The place is inside a building, so not easy to spot from the street, but definitely worth a visit.

Good stuff. Place is tucked away along other restaurants.Yet once you find it youll be happy you did. The owner was very accommodating , waited less than 10 minutes, food tasted wonderful. Very plentiful amount of food. After eating you feel satisfied with a healthy choice , not to mention the price is fair $10-11 a plate
Henali Patel
Right in the pike place market area, this place has really delicious platters with kabob rice and salad! I loved the chicken kabob I got, I asked for hot and white sauce, very flavorful!
A M
Got the Fesenjoon (chicken stew with fruit and spices, with rice) simply amazing. All the spices and fruit came together into this mouth watering deliciousness. I should add this is my first time eating Fesenjoon and I don't know much about Persian food, so I'm no expert, but it was scrumptious enough to make foodie me very happy. Definitely try this place. Even after taxes and tip the entire meal was $15.
Ameed Ansari
Excellent find in Pike place. Owner is super friendly. We ordered Kotlet sandwich and Kabob sandwich, both are very tasty. Be sure to try the excellent “Iranian Bubble tea” - lemonade with rose water, saffron and tapioca.
Thabata Regiani
This place was a great surprise! It is off the beaten path, but we were so glad we found it! The food was delicious, and it seems to be very authentic (I am not a connoisseur, so take that with a grain of salt), but I never had Persian food before and now I am fan. It is also very affordable
They even have vegetarian options: I had a veggie plate, and the seasoning on the rice was delicious.
I will come back for the lentil soup.
Greg Schneider
I absolutely loved lunch. Hidden down a hallway, such a wonderful find. Small family owned little corner place. If I lived locally, I'd be here a lot.
Jens Vestergaard
I am so glad I found this place. I've lived in Seattle for over 5 years and work right by Pike Place Market, but never knew it existed until recently. It's not easy to find - tucked away in a corner behind Rachel's Ginger Beer. If you're looking for an authentic 'mom and pop' experience, look no further. This is the real deal. Yummy Persian food such as the beef kebab in the picture (to go lunch style). It's not a place you'd go for the atmosphere. There's a few seats and like I said, it's kind of tucked away in a weird location. But grab the food to go and head down to the overlook and enjoy your lunch outside - or eat it there. Either way, you've just found a totally hidden hole in the wall in Seattle!
Ptronoh V.
They were quick and friendly and love to share their culture while also being open minded to others. The food was great. Why wait in long lines for chowder when this delightful hole in the wall is right around the corner?
Wyatt Rutt
DELICIOUS Fesenjoon recommended by the nicest staff! Highly recommend when you’re looking for something warm and homey. Will definitely be back!
Michelle Pendergrass
The BEST salad I have eaten, ever!
Portions were HUGE, and I'm a big eater.
The people behind the counter , (I'm guessing owner and employee, were very friendly and helpful.
I can't wait to go back and try everything else.
This place is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the trek and near some clean public restrooms too.
It's in the alley a half a block east of the market.
I am so excited to go back with my family next time we go downtown.
Allison Parsons
Haven't had a lot of Persian food, which I expressed to the helpful man at the counter. We ended up both going for #1 after tasting it and #2.
Wonderful flavor
Gordon Duclos
Amazing flavor. Delicious! Don't come to the Market often, but when I do, definitely coming back!
Benjamin W
Delicious food, quick and easy! Fantastic flavors, especially the Fesenjoon.
Tom Biro
Don't tell anyone (TELL EVERYONE) that this place is absolutely a Seattle gem. Lovely people, tasty food, great prices, and a genuinely special spot.
Thom Miller
Great food! Got there just as they were closing, they fired everything up to get us! Excellent service
Micah Thomas
Great chicken kabab plate, they asked if I wanted it spicy and I said yes. The chicken was packed with flavor, white sauce was great and the salad was delicious as well. 🔥 I ate it so fast I forgot to take pictures.
William Khadivi
Excellent Persian food! One the market’s best restaurants! The chicken kabob is consistently excellent.
Derek Fritz
Great little spot tucked away in the corner of Post Alley. The owners are always a delight and the food is obviously made with care and to-order. Not too busy during the week so it makes the perfect lunch spot. Make sure to load up on the white & red sauce!
Brian J
The lamb burger was absolutely fantastic. Great flavors, juicy, delicious.
Mahshid Rafiee
We are tourists from Australia and we came to the U.S for a month. While we were in Seattle we visited Farvahar Persian Cafe this was by far the best cafe/restaurant in the states. Dripping kebabs to delicious Burgers with top tier drinks and scrumptious stews served with saffron rice. The prices are unprofitable for the company but they don't care they only care about customer satisfaction, If they were more popular they'd be in every single travel guide. (Also stunning view).
Kasim Aslam
The food is wonderful and the owner is exceedingly nice. Both my children have food allergies and he was very conscientious in preparing something they could eat. We’ll be back!
Lynn Van Hauwe
Super good food! Very fast service and great value.
h b
Great food and friendly, attentive owners. Most recently I had the beef kabob plate- it was delicious and beautifully presented. I have had other items on the menu and have been very pleased each time.
Thank you!
Maria Luisa
Delicious! and the kind attention made it a great experience.
Right On
Decent food for vegetarians. Vegetarian plate was good. Lentil soup was a bit watered down.
Kai Evans
The owners are so friendly and the food was insanely delicious. We’ll be back soon!
Bethany Gabaldon
Best Persian food in the city. The couple that own this place are amazing. I have never been disappointed getting lunch here and their chicken plate is so fulfilling. It’s kind of tucked away in the market but don’t give up the search, definitely worth the find!
Jen Havener
Vegan lunch for 8.99
Stellar hummus, really remarkable. Between the two, plenty to eat (and I'm breastfeeding, so big portions for me!)
Aidan
Super awesome food like we’ll seasoned and delicious. Highly recommended stop for anyone who wants to try something new.
Geoffrey Bir
The chickens and lamb kababs are realy good, but to much vinaigrette in the salad.
Sharon Howardw
This place is spectacular! I took a picture midway through meal because forget that, you'll want to hurry up and dive in to your food. Had quite the spread first time here. I live out of town but it's worth a drive to wherever you live. The staff was excellent, and the restaurant has some nice art for sale. The food itself is art and tastes incredible.
jeffery austin
Small eatery tucked in the corner near Rachel's Ginger Beer. Some seriously good food at reasonable prices. Had the lamb burger, was awesome. Get it juicy and spicy. Will definitely come back. Eat local!
Arianna Trott
Food was so amazing! I love flavor packed fresh food and Farvahar Persian Cafe did not disappoint. I highly recommend!
Masoud Barati
Lovely people. Fantastic food. The owner (Majid if I remember his name) was very welcoming and made recommendation about which meal to order and finally sat with us and talked about his past while my wife and I were eating. He even invited us to his house for some drinks! which we politely rejected. Very hospitable and really a nice experience. I was planning to go back one more time but was in Seattle for just a few days. Will go next trip!
Sahar Az
They cater to vegans well! I’m Persian, non of the other persian places have vegan options. Here, I love their barley soup. They also had herb stew with tofu! I loved it. some other time when I tried calling a couple of times to order pick up, they kept cutting my call, which has not happen to me in any other food places, that’s why I gave 4 stars.
LA
The best home made Persian food. We ordered 6 different food for tasting and everything was so fresh and delicious. We tried lentil soup, veggie and meat cutlet sandwich, ghorme sabzi, and eggplant dish which was great.
Mariko Honda
Awesome find in the back of the building. The lines out front for chowder are so long and they're all missing out on the lamb kabobs and eggplant!
Oliver O'Donnell
Kind people, good food! When I was there today the lady saw that I had a lot of rice left, so she offered to give me a scoop of fesanjoon. No charge, she just thought I would enjoy the rice more if I had a tasty sauce to go with it. She was right 😊 …

We discovered Farvahar Cafe on our last day in Seattle. My wife is Persian and this was an incredibly authentic treat with such warm hospitality. The owner and his wife took great care of us and the food was delicious!! Prices are very fair! We will be back every trip :)
Cameron Tabrizi
I love Persian food and am myself half Iranian. The food here is good. Definitely a decent introduction to Persian fare but Caspian is better, albeit much further away and more expensive. Service here is always fast and friendly.
S. R. WHY
I went and had some of the best lamb I've ever had. My brother and I absolutely loved the place. Next time I'm in Seattle I'll definitely be making a stop by for some more fantastic food.
lawna laine
Food was very good, wholesome and homemade. Would suggest that the hot food be served hotter and the cold food be served colder. The location is perfect for me as it is quickly away from the energy mayhem on the street, yet close enough the I can glimpse over that direction to get have a perriferal experience.
mary walsh
My husband and I were visiting from out of state and stumbled upon this cafe in the Pike Place market. My husband is Persian and was so impressed at how authentic and delicious it was! He is still raving about the food, weeks later. We hope to be able to visit Seattle again some day and I know we'll definitely stop here. Great job, Farvahar!
Grace Gwendolyn Nickle
Excellent Persian cafe in Pike Place Market. The owners cook the food right in front of you, and are very friendly married couple. Our food was perfectly cooked, very delicious and a very welcome variant to the typical Seattle northwest american fare. Would recommend this (although you'll have to vie for one of the few tables or bar seats) to anyone in Pike Place looking for lunch or dinner.
Emad Ghodrati
Very friendly and accomodating staff. High quality home made style food with new dessert surprises on the menu (we got baghlava and saffron pistachio ice cream) are the great delicacy if the this cosy place.
Chris Petersen
How have I missed this place over the years? Good vegetarian options, and a Persian coworker gave his seal of approval for the meat options he sampled. Paired well with the ginger beer I got from Rachel's (next door), too.
Ro Li
The Koobideh we ordered was good. I would give 4 stars if the serving portion is bigger. We've been to many fancier Persian restaurants all over the US and it's pretty easy to conclude that the price for the portion Farvahar served is too high. Plus, not sure if it is really authentic because the kabab was cooked in a pan.
claire arroyo
Persian food... very tasty. The staff was very sociable and kind. Feeling here is similar to a place in Columbus I liked.
Yogesh Kakodkar
The chicken sandwich is good. But the place gets backed up when 3 or 4 people go as there is only one person. So not a great place for quick lunch.
Vahid Azadeh ranjbar
Unbelievable persian food!!! Everything had the same taste as foods in Iran. Farvahar is not a fancy resturant, but it is a cozy and comfortable family persian cafe with delicious iranian foods. My wife and I went to Seattle for 3 days and went to this cafe two times. We had 5 different foods and each one was more delicious that the other one (definitely try baghla polo (rice and lamb) and Mahi polo (rice and Fish).
One good point about their foods: Iranian foods are really rich and heavy the same as Turkish foods. But foods here are somewhat light and delicious.
Younes Nouri
Try the kebab sandwich, it's delicious
foad khandel
Authentic homemade Persian food. Reminded me of home. Do not miss out.
Vignesh Kumar
Great food and service. Enjoyed the beef kebab with rice.
Vanessa Vanderpool
This is hands down the BEST Kabob place! The owner takes such great care with the food and the little details like the sprinkled sumac just makes it next level delicious!
Kat West
The fesenjoon (chicken stew with pomegranate molasses and walnuts and a side of saffron rice) is the best! After trying it it became my favorite food of all time. I took my friend there and now she is also obsessed with fesenjoon. They also have a great cucumber, tomato, and onion salad, but why you really come for is the fesenjoon.
Andrew Lawrence
I had the Kotlet, called the Persian Burger, and it was fantastic. The cook was super polite and really quick. This is a good place to stumble across, I'd recommend it.
Dante Ghazizadeh
Great place. We came from Californian and We We had an amazing time there. The food is incredible and the owners are superb.
jarell bronson
Went here last week got the chicken sandwich with everything and asked for medium spicy it was amazing and a good price.
imperfectidealist
Got the eggplant borani, which was just all right. If you're trying to avoid plastic, they do serve food on disposable plates and with plastic cutlery.

Forohar Cafe has a hidden upper floor that is perfect for smoking hookah and eating chips and delicious cheeses
They are here until 12 o'clock at night and it is open, but there is time to sit down, if more than 40 minutes pass, they will wake you up with apologies
It has a dark and smoky atmosphere where a moving statue of a cyclist, whose symbol I don't know, is riding in the middle
In short, I recommend the hookah here, it's true that it's a bit expensive, but they come with a lot of snacks that are totally worth it ✨🌟👌
Gabriela
Excellent food and excellent service!!!
I would go back!
Good value for money!
Melisa Pears
It doesn't look like much, but the fesenjool is delicious.
