Reviews of Dick's Drive-In
Excellent Seattle staple! Came in from Arizona to try this and see what all the buzz is about. The burger was excellent, the service was great and the restaurant was very clean. It's very comparable to In N Out Burger from the Southwest/California. Prices are very low and the food is great. Definitely recommend going here if you are hungry!
Pretty decent as far as a fast food burger goes. I personally liked their softer fries but if your thing is crispy fries, you might not get that. Shake was very good as well! Their quick service in relation to the amount of people they had during our visit definitely bumped this up from a 3 star to a 4 star.
I went late at night. Super short wait, took maybe 45 seconds from the time of ordering to the time I had my bag of food. Everything is pretty cheap and good. I recommend getting the Dick’s Special as it is more value than the the Deluxe. Strawberry milkshake was also really good. Good place to be full at for about $10. I don’t believe there is a place to sit and dine in though. But there is a parking lot right outside.
Solid fast food. Basic and straightforward. The burgers were good, though I cannot understand Seattle's obsession with sweet relish/sweet pickles. Thise greasy french fries grow on you. My root beer float was perfect!
It’s sort of like Seattle’s In-and-Out Burger, there’s a smaller menu but priced very cheap! There’s no indoor seating but you can stand and eat at the ledges. Plus there is free parking. The workers were nice.
You can never go wrong with a bag of Dick’s. The wait is always worth it for those cheap, delicious lil burgers. Their fries never disappoint and it all just is such a classic, perfect meal to get in seattle
Put on an awesome event to honor George Karl induction to basketball Hall of Fame. It was free, well attended with appearances by The Glove and the Rain Man. Thank you for honoring these legendary Sonics.
Super good fast food! Definitely something you need to experience as a tourist to Seattle, they don’t have chairs as of 2020 because of covid, which I think they should bring it back.
When in Seattle, you have to go to Dick’s. Get the burger and fries, it doesn’t come as a combo but worth getting. Top it off with your favorite fountain drink and you’ll be in Carb heaven. Will come back soon all the way from California!!!
Here's a simple and classic burger joint. Burgers, fries and milkshakes are the hero and not much else available. There's something quite satisfying with an eatery that has focus and nails all the fundamentals. The patties are only 1/8 lb so double up if you want to taste the beef. The fries are excellent. I'm glad good and cheap places like this still exist.
Great burgers. Frieda were a little soggy but completely believe and support what Dick’s is doing with regards to fair wages for their employees.
Great location. Lots of parking. Very fast service. The bathroom is very clean. I can understand the appeal of the food. Even though I didn’t grow up eating it it feels nostalgic. We had the deluxe, fries, and a strawberry milkshake. The fries were soggy but it was takeout
These are the BEST burgers in Seattle for their price point. Imagine Wendy’s but twice as tasty and slightly less expensive. Get the fries and shake, too. I’m not afraid to admit that I love Dick’s!
Food quality has gone downhill. It's a burger, and one of very few items your menu offers. I would think that you would make it perfectly and quickly. You mastered the "quickly" part of it. But, the burger was way overcooked, and had way more toppings than any human could possibly eat without choking on it. Just make it like you are going to eat it. Would you put 7 oz. of mayo on a 3 oz. sandwich?
The person at the counter was very nice. Vanilla milkshake was good. Got a regular cheeseburger 🍔. Way overrated. But for $3 bucks worth it if you are in the area. Significantly better than McDonald's Wendy's, etc. It's not worth the drive to Seattle just for that.
Cheap and quick eat. Fries could have been better but the burger is nice.
Wasn't drive-in, ate in. First and only one experience on my way to the airport after a week's stay in Seattle. Standing only a-la post pandemic no seat policy; straight forward menu, freshly put together burgers. Very efficient.
Loved coming here during Pokemon Go Fest a few months back (the lineup was long though). Got a strawberry milkshake and that was delicious! The prices are very nice relatively speaking and everything was solid!
Not that this place needs another local to say the same thing about it, but it's a better burger than McDonalds, at a much cheaper price point. They pay their workers better, and provide benefits. Menu is limited on purpose to keep order times quick, so show up understanding that.
I’m SoCal raised so huge fan of In-N-Out, but wow, Dick’s burgers are fire! Dick’s definitely has better shakes, fries and ketchup. Tartar sauce is also good. Definitely a must if you’re visiting Seattle.
It was fine. Not sure what the hype was all about. Decent burger, but felt a little nickeled and dimed. Extra for fries. Extra for drink. Even the condiments cost extra! If you're looking for one burger, sure give it a shot. If you're looking for a "fast food meal" it will be like $12-14/person.
The (strawberry) milkshake was great, unfortunately the fries were soggy and sad. Fast service.
Always delicious! The tarter sauce makes the fries awesome! Not for the diet conscious person. The cheese on the burgers are old school. Nice and thick.
Ate here over the weekend. It was my first experience eating at this chain. The burgers, fries and chocolate shake were very good. The prices are very good as well. The inside was clean. There was no seating but there was a ledge table that went around the dining room so you can stand and have a place to put your food. The bathrooms were clean. The employees were fantastic. It made me a fan. Will absolutely return
Simply no replacement. Great food, simple menu, and unbelievable prices. Literally a fourth the cost of the Taco Bell a couple blocks down the road.
Loved the atmosphere and the vibe. Exuded efficiency. I like the standing room only, but I'm 6'7" (no biggie) so the counters were all a little too low. Fries were really good I thought, but the burger didn't do anything for me. I would prefer a Wendy's JBC anyday.
The food is so good and the service so fast, you won't mind waiting in line behind dozens of people or even that you're only going to get most of what you ordered along with some other random items!
It's ok. A bit on the pricier side for an average burger. Fries are soggy and burned. I guess it's more of a tradition or landmark think like In and Out or Whataburger. To each his own.
Delicious cheap burgers and fries, friendly staff, quick service. Limited seating since the pandemic.
Food was average customer service was cool treated us well and they were decent at getting their food out in time put the security guard way out of line I was standing on a public sidewalk having a cigarette well over 25 ft away from the door and the security guard came out and started arguing with it being a group of people I was with and proceeded to threatened to shoot me cuz I wouldn't leave the public sidewalk security lady had no customer service hardly any people skills let alone skills of defusing a situation she just made it worse
The burgers here is amazing and would recommend trying them out when you have a chance. I recommend trying them out if you haven't yet.
This Dick's was the first I've ever eaten inside. The foods is just as delicious as all the other locations. Definitely one of the best burger joints in Washington. Not a lot of riff raff hanging around outside of this restaurant.
Greasy burger joint. Fries are limp n greasy. I eat here when it's the quick solution. It gets the job done.
Gotta agree with Bill Gates that Dick’s fries are hard to beat! Their burgers (especially the Dick’s Deluxe) and shakes aren’t too shabby either. The Queen Anne location has a great vibe with their indoor seating and local location decor. It’s even better now that they are accepting credit cards!! 🍔🍟🍦 …
Cheap, tasty fast food, you get what you paid for, no complaints! Quick service, good value for money. I especially like their chocolate ice cream
Inexpensive, efficient burgers, fries and shakes. Not much more you could ask for.
Thank you to the people working for providing quality service. The Cheeseburger hit the spot, good fries, & crushed ice for the drinks was a plus. Ready for round dizzledos!
Crispy fries, tasty burgers and delicious milkshakes (I got a chocolate shake), all at great prices. I made a point to visit Dick's again before I flew back home, because I remembered it from my first visit to Seattle 4 years ago.
Simply great! I mean it when I say simple. It is quite the opposite of In-n-Out, in a good way. You get couple of options and you cannot change anything about the burger itself. That being said, you also receive your order in lightning speed. There is something amazing about smash burgers and the American cheese. Any burger you'll eat here will capture that classic taste. If you're around, I think you should try!
Good low cost food, wish you could make alternatives for allergies though. No substitutes even subtracting an allergy
Don't tell the local washingtonians that I said this but the French fries are usually soggy and cold the regular cheeseburger is not worth it.. But the French fries are hand cut and farm grown. Every thing they cook with is top notch. Do your self a favor ask for fresh fries and order a deluxe with a milk shake!
Burgers are no good, heck McD's is better. The shake and fries though are pretty good. If you need a super cheap gross burger, this is the place. If you want a goid shake come here. I don't know if WA has a five guys and fries burger place, but the fries here are kinda like there's.
Burger was really salty and I found it weird that there were no chairs/tables (a follow on from Covid? I'm sure there is good reason). Staff were really friendly and service was super fast.
Lettuce and bun were mushy, like they had been sitting under the warmer too long. One of our burgers didn't get all the toppings it was supposed to. I was super excited to try since it's so popular but I guess I don't get the hype. Milkshake was good and the service was friendly and prompt.
A Seattle local favorite. Service was quick and easy. You get what you see (can't ask for customization). It's a good burger for a good price.
Great burger joint. Fast, good service. Nothing vegetarian as far as a main entree goes, but their fries were primo!! Reminds me of In-N-Out!
Service was fast and the food was good/economical. What more could you ask for. The location does not contain seating
Cheap, easy, nice Urban part of town with things to do nearby. It's better than McDonald's, not quite as good as 5guys, and offers ice cream! Great experience for me.
Really great! Cheeseburger , cooked up fresh and fast. No table and chairs, just a bar runs along window of the dining room, clean , friendly employees
I love this location! It has indoor counter height table space (seats have been removed due to COVID.) Super fast service just like all the other locations
Good enough burger in Seattle. :)
Excellent food, great service, I went on New Year's Eve and so did everyone else, but they kept that line moving!
Great burgers and definitely a place to walk to and visit if you go to see the space needle
if it was up to me I'd have you everynight but neither of the ladies in my life will let me and im upset at that. thank you for making the cheeseburger. you can order one or more and they will put it in a bag for you to walk to the park with and sit somewhere and eat. hey. its also already got the sauce on it. what a good time at the cheeseburger store thats on my block
I loved it. Super fast service and kind employees. Queue went down almost instantly. Not the best burgers in the universe, but they're pretty good considering the price point. Their shakes are delicious, too! Nowhere to sit, but there are a few standing tables where you can eat your meal if you want.
The fries are awful, the burgers just so so. Friendly fast service and cheap prices.
Awesome food. But no tables, understand but I still want a table
So I came here for a quick bite and I was not disappointed! The burger was really good for the price! I also had a strawberry shake that was a lot better than I expected. I will definitely come back to this restaurant for another quick bite! The service was really good! They helped me out in a quick and kind fashion.
Local burger joint, must check out. Pretty solid burger, pretty small though. Fries were good, but a little limp for sure.
You get what you pay for here, I think. Menu is limited to their basics which I usually think is great, but the fries were oily and floppy. Maybe just not a style we enjoyed, as I know locals love it here. Milkshakes were great, burgers were very average. But, it's probably the cheapest meal we had while in Seattle so take that for what it's worth! If menu is limited, food should be phenomenal.
Really enjoyed it. It actually wasn't a drive in. Which threw me off. The most expensive thing on the menu was about $4. The burger was good, fries okay, and the milkshake great. Customer service moves quickly.
Great burger and fries for a great price! I would choose this over any big chain fast food restaurants!
Usually great. Not tonight. My cheeseburger was overcooked to the point it was tough to bite through the beef. It was warm not hot. It wasn't that busy at the time I picked this up.
A Seattle institution . Great Fantastic Service, fantastic food , A must when your visiting Seattle to get a real sense of its people that live here and the great restaurants (especially thus one) of this great city! Average burger around $2.00
It's good but it's got nothing on in-n-out. Quality of the burger is better than your big fast food brands, but honestly it's nothing write home about.
The shakes are decent, the fries are alright. Price and value is the name of the game here
The burgers here are pretty great and the service is always friendly. I strongly recommend trying them out when you can. Their burgers are certainly worth a try.
Dicks is so good! You get what you order and it's cheap fast food but my husband and I were visiting out of town and it's great for a quick meal! He actually went back to order ANOTHER cheeseburger (for me!) and then a chocolate ice cream cone. This after we had a big bag of fries and deluxe burgers. Would've posted a picture of all the food but we ate it too quickly!
Fast service, cheap prices and large portions. Hated the mustard on the special burger though.
They took out the seating in this location. Love their food but lately it's more ketchup and mustard then anything. For the price not to bad.
Local joint famous for being famous but still a good burger and fries. Definitely recommend if you want a good local burger.
Always exactly what is expected, except this is the only location where you can go inside and order. Before pandemic you could sit down and eat inside, hopefully that option will be available again soon
Finally got to visit the iconic hamburger place! Food was incredibly affordable and very tasty!
Pretty busy at this location but over all a great place to swing by and grab a quick bite to eat
Love this place. But charging for ketchup is criminal. Fries are hit or miss.
Late to this local spot! Great spot to grab and go! There isn't any seating but I just grab my food and ain't on the curb. Great food and super quick!
Simple menu, traditional tastes of burger and shakes. A busy business too. Too busy to keep dining area clean.
Took a recommendation from a friend to come here. I was in Seattle for three days and we went to a lot of restaurants. I chose to come here on the second day. This place is decent! Small but quality burgers, the fries are simply amazing and the service is quick. The prices were very surprising! This is the cheapest burger restaurant, believe me or not! I was expecting an $11 meal for myself but in total it was $13 for me and my friend! I was really happy. Service is really fast, they won't let you down. One thing I will complain about though is the lack of ranch. No ranch is one star loss. For me it's a 3 star loss but I won't count it too much. I used tartar sauce instead. I will be coming here again!
Pre show meal next to Climate Pledge Arena
Good burgers and shakes. My son's love their fries too. Quick service
I found out they don't do special orders like you can't ask them to take something off the burger. So I ordered a regular cheeseburger that was pretty skinny. I found the bun to be rather gummy so I didn't eat it and just ate the patty which was meh but I loved the fries so I gave it four stars for the french fries and the people that work there were very nice.
I think I'm just spoiled from L.A. burgers.
Tasty deluxe burger (2 patties). Fries were a bit salty. Vanilla shake was good. No dining in. Order to go only.
Beautiful views. Best in Seattle. Space needle is a must but best views here.
Don't really get what the fuss is about, burgers we're fine but nothing like Seattle locals had gushed to us about.
Great local area family burger place. I've been going here for decades. Still the same, but normally the prices have slowly gone up. Not a place you'd go if you want to be healthy, but the Deluxe is my favorite (1/4 pounder with cheese, lettuce and special sauce). Their French fries deep fried in peanut sauce is also yummy, but the fries are not super crispy like McDonald's. root beer floats are delicious.
Brilliant. The best hamburger spott in Seattle. Fast and nice service. Great prices and great food.
An important part of Seattle History!
Nostalgic of past century. Lotsa good burgers. The ice cream is an unexpected delight. Especially old- fashioned Maple Nut.
A classic Seattle burger spot. There's always a line, but it goes fast. The food is great diner food. Don't expect it to compete with Habit Burger, Red Robin, or even Five Guys. More like the In-N-Out of the Pacific NW. There's actually indoor seating at this location as opposed to the one on 45th, which does not (neither does Holman, I believe). The restrooms here could use a little better upkeep. There's usually at least one homeless person outside asking for spare change.
Definitely the best fast food place in Seattle! Super fast friendly service. Love the milkshakes!!!
The burgers are good as are the shakes. It’s a cute little burger joint with a small but tried and true selection. If you’re expecting whataburger or in n out you may leave a bit disappointed but for a classic burger this is the place. Their fries tend to be on the softer side but are well seasoned. I do appreciate how they take care of the staff and have good pay and benefits.
The line was long for a late night but understandable. I had the Classic deluxe and it hit the spot for something quick after landing from the airport. The root beer added a perfect balance to the burger. I pretty much inhaled the burger, could have had a few more. The price is solid.
The food seems good, but the only complaint I have is the fact that the burgers are made to be served quickly, so you can't customize your food. I was forced to get a cheeseburger plain because I hate pickles and couldn't exclude them even though I love lettuce and tomatoes. Other than that, pretty good food for a cheap price.
There is ONLY 1 DICK'S (multiple locations in Seattle, but only 7)! And when you get to Seattle you'd better go & get some DICK'S!!! Everything comes the way it is, no substitutes, removals or additions but that's because it's perfect the way it comes. When I moved back to Seattle I bicycle 53 miles roundtrip for my quick DICK'S Fix (2 Cheese & a Fry) that day.
Anytime I'm on the go I make sure to stop here for a super deluxe vanilla shake and fries. Always worth the drive
The food was good, the inside arrangement was not. There is nowhere to sit and enjoy your lunch. They are so ridiculous here you have to stand to eat or leave. They don't provide chairs even tho they have ledge spots along all walls. I understand trying to be healthy, but making people stand to eat is not cool. Most people walk a lot in Seattle, we don't need to stand while we eat too. Our feet already hurt.
Fast paced, friendly and probably the cheapest meal in Seattle. Burgers were great and the fries were freshly cut and perfectly seasoned
A must stop if you are in town. Make time. And try to avoid times if day when large numbers of groups might be drunk because it will be packed
Really good, cheap burgers, fries and shakes for an excellent price. Simple menu. They don't customize burgers to order, you have to order plain ones or the ones with all condiments on them. Good to know before ordering. Currently no indoor seating.
Affordable fresh and tasty. A combo we could use more of in Seattle
We heard a lot about this iconic spot and felt it was a must while we were in walking distance. I was a little put off of the area admittedly, but it was clean inside and the service was fast. We ordered two deluxe burgers, a cheeseburger, and some fries. The price is super affordable. We hauled our bags back to our place and dug in. The fries even lukewarm (from our walk) were tasty. The burger wasn't gourmet, but the beef had nice flavor, the sauce was tasty, and the bun was soft. What else can you ask of a $4 burger? I was also pleasantly surprised by the basic cheeseburger. If I lived here I would be back!
Fast service, great fries, burger and shake. Good price!
Not the place to go if you're looking for high quality, but definitely the place if you're looking to save money. Very cheap and good for the price. Note that you can't modify things, though.
What more can be said about Dick’s? A Seattle institution. Next time you go get extra cheeseburgers and freeze them. One min in the mic and you have the best late night and/or hangover snack.
Great cheap food. A classic Seattle establishment. Never disappointed when I come here. This location is never too busy in the afternoon.
Quick service. Great burgers. Great fries. Fair prices. What else can I say? Only complaint is that you can't customize the burgers, but that's why the service is so quick!
Nice Cashier, and the best deluxe from this location at the last minute. That’s impressive from Queen Anne location.
Great food at a great price. Oddly no chairs to sit in.
The food here is AMAZING! I would go just for the food. Service wasn’t the best though, especially towards someone who has never been here before or lives in Seattle.
Honestly I don't know what type of mustard and ketchup that they use on their burgers but the combination of the two create such a deep deep acid reflux reaction within my stomach and my throat it almost makes me throw up. I do like their burgers but I don't like the combinations of the sauces that they put on I go for the plane cheeseburger and that's doesn't upset my stomach and my acid reflux yeah so you know Seattle institution you go there cheap eats what can I say I really can't eat any other Burger than the plain cheeseburger to be quite honest so take that as you want.
Fire. Hot unadulterated fire. Long lines but service was fast. This might literally be the best fast food burger fries I've ever had. If you were to be a fast food alchemist, where you took all the good parts of the best burger chains and refined that down to the the base essence this would be it.
Not the perfect burger and fries,
but the perfect fast food burger and fries.
Very good food with unbelievable cheap price.
Took out all the seating. Fries were really greasy.
A nice location after seeing the others in the Seattle area. The staff is very quick and although the line seems intimidating at first, it moves fast. However, if you arrive 10-15m before closing on a weekend night and there is a long line, expect to either not get food or fries at the minimum. Food is as expected from any Dick’s location, good and cheap.
They removed all the tables, kind of bummed about that. Food was good as usual, would like to have been able to sit to eat.
This old time nostalgic ambiance hamburger and fries are so delicious. You just dont find french fries like the ones that Dìcks serves at any other burger dive in our state! They make em the way my moms did when we were kids. I enjoyed every bite of my juicy burger. It needed nothing else! It was perfect. And they served it fresh and so fast that there was no wait time at all! I was content like i havent been since i was a kid. I loved it!
It's fine. A few steps above the big fast food places. Insanely busy though, so it takes 10 times longer to get food. Portions are pretty small and pricey.
Its been a family favorite for generations. My Grandfather created the iconic neon signs when it opened. Even relatives that live out of state drop by first thing when they arrive.
Do you like classic American burgers? This is the place to check out! A cheap and filling burger fast food store from the 70s and 80s. However, I recommend trying out their fries because they are so good! It’s pretty greasy but what type of fries aren’t! Would I go here again to experience the Seattle vibe? Totally!
This was our Go-To, Fast Food Dining Place. Tasty Burgers & Fries. Super Friendly Staff
Im new to Seattle so I have no real comparisons to base a rating on. But this place wasn't bad. The food was tasty, the burger was good and fries were ok...a bit soggy. The counter staff was welcoming and answered questions about the menu. I guess this is a staple in the area, so if you're a tourist or new to the area like I am...give it a go.
First time coming here and food was amazing. The only complaint is that due to no dine in option, you had to eat in your car and there was a parking monitor dude giving selective tickets. They hovered around my vehicle despite the signs stating parking is for people who picked up food and could park to eat. It was just uncomfortable to deal with and he was giving tickets to everyone he could.
Get a better hobby, my guy.
Awesome place to check out! Cheap price for a simple hamburger and fries, and it's good food. Employees are nice here and there's lots of parking. Highly recommend a visit!
Iconic local burger joint. The burgers are excellent, the shakes are fantastic. Just don’t expect to get substitutions lol
It's a good place and the hamburger are so cheap
Great place for cheap hamburgers, fries and shakes. The best deal is definitely the Special, you get the extra toppings but don't pay for the extra patty. Enjoy!
Visited twice, once was after a Kraken game, another was a quiet Monday night. Two totally different vibes. Burgers are quick and good. The deluxe was a tiny bit strange at first because - I believe - they use a tartar sauce instead of the 'typical' mayo and sliced pickles. Adds a sweetness that is unique, not bad at all, just a bit unexpected. The normal cheeseburger with ketchup and mustard was good too, maybe a better choice for those who are just looking for a 'backyard' burger. Customer service was quick and accurate, even on the hockey night with a line out the door.
This was so damn delicious. Needs more locations because I need it!!! The fries and tartar sauce was crack! So damn great. 10⭐
Seattle staple. This is one of the better locations. Lower Queen Anne (now Uptown), is my old stomping grounds. It’s a great place to grab a bite near Seattle Center. Highly recommend, especially is you’re a tourist. Gotta grab a Dick’s Burger and shake!
Wish they had a vegetarian option other than fries but otherwise great!
Dick's is the place were the cool hang out. The swass like to play and the rich flaunt clout. Posse to the burger stand so big we walk in twos. We're getting dirty looks from the other sucka crews.
it was way busy as expected after the concert we went too but the food was great and cheap! like bob's in a lot of ways but their fries are better! i will eat here again next time i'm in town.
Decent burgers at a decent price. There are better options in the city if you want a really great burger. It is iconic Seattle though so 🤷♂️ …
Great authentic burgers and shakes. My daughter's bf didn't realize the shakes are made with real milk so he spent a sad lactose intolerant 30 minutes in the bathroom.
I only wish that I could have a larger milkshake🥺.
🤣🤣🤣I love this place😉
Seattle's favorite! As visitors, we had to try it and I liked it, although I have had better burgers in this price range.
Staff was not as attentive as you would want them to be, but it was alright. Cleanliness could have been a notch or two better
Great place, never been there before, quick and friendly but the burgers had sat for too long, but still not bad
Definitely the spot to go to on a late night tip. Always friendly fast and good service. They never fail when you go here. I would recommend it anytime
Great burgers. My sister enjoyed the plain burger option. I recommend this more than in-n-out.
Eat here after your snow fun! 3 fries, 2 ketchup and one Super Deluxe Burger.
Fast hot service and the taste is always on point. Traditionally famous for diner style Burgers ,fries ,and milkshakes . May appear to have a lot of customers in lines but it goes fast. Also no specialties for quickness.
Stopped here during my visit to Seattle from Vancouver. Love the mom ‘n pop vibe. Makes me feel like I’m in a Linklater movie.😁 Open late, good food, good price, clean bathroom; there’s parking albeit not big, but for the location I’ll take it; there’s a banner congratulating graduates; lol the sugar tax. …
They make a really tasty cheeseburger and the cheeseburger deluxe has a great zippy chopped pickle mayo that you'll enjoy you like big mac's. The fries are tasty but they're always soggy.
Cheap spot, which is great if you’re on a budget. Very soggy fries if you’re into that, but you definitely get what you pay for. As someone new to Seattle, I kept hearing about them and overall my consensus is it’s a bit overhyped, although I can certainly see it’s appeal as a beloved drunchies/munchie spot.
1st time there. We had burgers, fries and shake. We enjoyed the simplicity of the menu and ordering. We went on purpose to support their mission to pay employees a good wage while still offering up good eats. We will be back
I'm not going to sneeze on 2.50 burgers, but you do get what you pay for. That's okay! I think the price justifies itself anyway and I like them! I just wouldn't expect anything particularly... good. It's a niche.
It was ok. However our fries were cold and thought it was already one thing for the soda tax but if u want ketchup may mustard or any other condiments you have to pay.
Burgers are good as well as the fries. Warning if you eat in, you need to stand - no tables or chairs due to COVID! Good food for reasonable price!
There are a Seattle Icon and I admiire their employee perks to help them. I enjoyed their fires and shake my burger was a little dry but still good.
After growing up with one of the owners sons and eating there for 60+years what's left to be said?
Stopped by after a Kraken game for a late night burger & fries.
They had removed all the tables from the dining room so it's just one big open room, which was smart because the lines went almost to the back.
Took one star away because the were "out" of specials and couldn't tell me how long I would have to wait for one (decided to just get a deluxe instead. Side note: has a deluxe always been $4.50? Not that the price is outrageous or anything but I thought they were closer to $3.00 or $3.50).
Very clean and super good! Staff was friendly and the service was so fast6!
What is the hype about this establishment rather than it is very cheap? Burgers were nice but nothing other places don't offer
Always has been one of my favorites since I can remember.
Always tasty... again, I was a pig. I have this bad habit of not eating all day, then pulling up to the most unhealthy and delicious thing that's close. This location has indoor sit down (like a regular fast food place), but they tore up all of the seating. It's all a large open space. I wonder if they are getting away with indoor seating all together. That would be sad. That's why I love this location.
Always a treat. Maybe forgo the shake and get a peppermint sundae with hot fudge to cleanse your palate after enjoying Seattle’s own ‘40s drive-in burgers and fries. Feel good that your servers are being treated well, paid well & given lots of opportunities for their education.
Not the best ! The burger was average but the fries were good
You know what you're getting, and getting it cheaply and quickly! Good bang for your buck.
Quick service, classic burgers and fries, friendly and cheerful staff.
Heard it was a Seattle legend. It was okay. Tons of grease, not a lot of flavor, limp fries, the small drink is more like a sample. I'm sure it may be a local fave, but I was a bit under impressed with the quality for the money. Staff was super friendly though, so it's worth trying out.
Delicious burgers and fries at very affordable prices! The fries are really good! Soft and fluffy inside and crispy on the outside
Decent food; fries looked like they were sitting out for awhile but other than that everything else was good. I just wouldn't go out of my way to go back.
A Seattle staple. Visit any location for fast service good burgers and shakes. They take care of their employees, I definitely stop here anytime I'm even passing through Seattle.
Decent In-N-Out Knockoff.. I'd give them a B- for effort. They say Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery . However best thing on menu is hot fudge sundae stonned off that NW Blend at 1:30am
Late night stop after the last ferry in.. As always fast and friendly service. Fast fresh food. Yum!
I had tried this place a few times and didn’t realize I was doing the experience wrong. Ya gotta add tartar sauce! My friend who grew up in Seattle recommended I do that, and I’m a convert. The deluxe was a beautiful addition to my weekend.
Cheap burgers great place love the new location
No substitutions as I asked for extra toasted bread since I cannot eat it bread untoasted. Never got to try the food. Not much to see. Just a regular fast food joint that sells burgers and fries. They were nice enough to give me a drink so good customer service. Can't score higher as I didn't eat anything. No dining in other because of Covid.
We didn't eat here bcz there was no indoor seating. The food looked good, though.
For a quick in and out job, you can’t beat this local fast food hero. Solid food, several good causes, and always grateful to serve.
Long time Deluxe fan, am introducing my kids :)
Nice pitstop place with low price meals. Better than McDonald's that's for sure.
Must eat if in town! Cheap eats great food
Food was just ok..I've had better
Different then I expect
Probably won't be back.
Strawberry shake and Deluxe burger were good. The fries not so much.
Dick’s is a Seattle institution and this location is a place to visit if in the area. Dick’s has several locations around the Puget Sound and this location is rare in that it has in-house seating. I’ve been to the Queen Anne location a couple times in the past few months and it’s as good as the other locations. Let’s set the record straight and establish that it’s not the best burger you’ll likely ever have. However, this is a burger that if you’ve grown up here or lived here for awhile will evoke memories of late nights with friends and family. There’s something to be said for that. Is it the best burger I’ve ever had? No. Are the burgers dear to my heart? Yes. With all that set aside, this location is good. The staff are friendly and the tables were kept clean when I visited. The Dick’s Special was meaty and rich like a burger should be and the fries were not too greasy but closer to room temperature. I washed it down with a strawberry shake which was thick and delicious like always. Long live Dick’s Drive-In.
Have always loved this place. $2 burgers are worth every penny. The friendly and fast service is a huge bonus. Shakes are to die for. The Fry's are heaven in a paper bag and they always over-fill the container so you always feel like you're getting extra even if you're not. :D
Food is great. They've doubled down on masks despite high vaccination rates and contrary to New CDC guidelines, ignoring the science. The rent a cop was slurping down a soda inside then came and corrected my daughter for sipping her drink waiting on food.
My first burger was in the 60’s. Never stoped love’n them😋 …
So freaking good, amazing shakes, and burgers are great.
I had the Dick’s special with fries and a small drink. Only $8.50! Real tasty, fast service, affordable meal. I’ll be returning!
Efficient process they have in place there. Didn't have to wait too long. Super long line around 8 pm but moved fast enough. A little disappointed the milkshakes don't taste the way I remembered them, but its also been over 10 yrs since my last visit.
Best burgers in the world. Just facts. 😤😁👍🇺🇸💯 …
3 year absence because of Covid, the first place I visit going back to Seattle. Fast food burgers, fries and shakes. Simple menu, fast service.
So I would give it 5 stars but it's not like it's a gourmet burger joint...but that's not a bad thing. I paid like 3 bucks for a great burger in the same price range..if I had to choose between this place and McDonald's or any fast food burger place this wins hands down. It's cheaply priced, but tastes much better than it's competitors, you don't get a nasty processed meat taste from it, service was quick, and your not finding a burger joint better than that for that price. It's punching well above it's pay grade
A sold by burger joint, tastier than your average fast food spot
Here is the deal. You cant customize your order, but it tastes great. If youre picky, stay the hell away, if not, it is a great bite to eat and super fast. I went from ordering to eating in less than 2 minutes, which is great. Burgers tasted great, fries were addicting, and the ice cream was to die for. Will definitely go back. Price was awesome!!! Super cheap burgers!! Less than 3 dollars for their most expensive burger. This is the way they used to do it back in the day!!
Cool ambience and flair! The fries were pretty good for $2!
We had fun here w my grandkids. This was on my must try list. It was a good ole fashioned burger nothing fancy. I've heard it's the In and out of Seattle. That's a stretch but I did like it. 3 bucks for a 2 patty burger is pretty good. Fries were OK. Shake was tasty. Give it a shot
Brings back memories when living in Seattle. Was a staple
They need to bring back their tables and chairs. The place was void. It was depressing.
Fast service, great product. Just one complaint.
Do I think they’re inside? No prob not. Is it a big city location? Yes. Should they still do something about all the rats outside? Probably. I saw like four darting in and out of the shrubbery during my recent visit.
A local favorite in Seattle serving decent burgers. The fries were delicious. I would go more often if there were more locations in Pierce County.
They're still making the best milkshakes, the cheapest burger ( yes, they do taste great ), and some really delicious hand-cut fries. Your order is literally complete within minutes...depending on whether it's a game day for Seahawks, Sounders, or Mariners. Lines move fast...so don't get discouraged by the site of them. Food and drink at reasonable prices.
Can't beat the price and tatse of the food. A bit old and tired with long lines (popular place) but super quick and nice service. Was bummed when we went to order hot fudge sundae's after our burgers and the machine wasn't working. Heard the staff say it had been out of water for some time. I guess maybe people don't order them often. For a quick, cheap bite definitely worth going.
Very good cheese burger. Very cheap. Thoroughly recommend it!
Best burger I had In seattle since I got here. Service is fast. Customer service was not that great but the food is top tier. I will be back
I was pleasantly surprised to see a 2.50 cheeseburger in Seattle the price was super reliable. Plus fer another 2.50 you can add fries!
I threw up outside I'm sorry. It wasn't the food. I threw up after I ate again but still not the food. Just got off the phone with my friend and said she's puked 2/2 times eating here but it's probly the alcohol and terriblly long line indoors. I don't think I have been to this location before, it's not like the others it's like a Wendy's building. Pretty sure no drive thru
Amazing burgers at a great price. Open late and very convenient. Small burgers start at a pretty cheap price, shakes are really REALLY good.
If you need food to fill your stomach fast and cheap, this is the place to go. Although I liked their milkshakes, their burgers and fries weren't the best. With all the hype around this place, it didn't personally live up the the expectation. Still, the prices are amazing!
Great fast stop for classic burgers. Would be 5 stars if they had chairs to sit and eat
Slow service, food that has been under the tanning bed light for who-knows-how-long, soggy fries, and a lobby totally devoid of tables didn't make this a great experience for us.
You walk in and the Burgers and Fries are fresh and ready. If you have to wait, the wait is short. You can not customize your Burger, but no one cares because their Burgers are that good. 100% Fresh Beef. Fresh Cut Fries. Real Ice Cream Shakes. The food is fantastic. A Seattle Icon.
No Fish. No Chicken. No Tacos. Just Burgers, Fries and Shakes done right. I never miss a trip to Dick's when I'm in Seattle.
It's okay. The prices are really low which is great, and it's a local staple that's been around for a long time, but the burgers are nothing to write home about. They're as good as I'd expect $3 burgers to be. The fries are gross and overcooked, but I'm told that's the way they do them. Oh well.
Service was a bit slow today but normally they are wonderful.
Quick service, good food, low prices.
On my top 3 best burgers of all time. No drama no fuss, just plain good old burger 😋😋😋 …
So worth it. We decided cheeseburgers for dinner and luckily this was close to us. We didn't realize it was fast food and didn't know how the ordering and menu worked so we were a little underwhelmed at first but quickly realized we made a good choice. The food was really delicious and the price can not be beat. My husband went back to order us more food cause it was that good and so affordable!!
Decent burger for the price. When you get a deluxe fresh off the grill, hot enough to fully melt the cheese, winning...however that's less than the usual occurrence. This goes for the fresh fries as well.
Good grub for an alcohol infused tummy...
Burgers are cheap ($1.65), location is very accessible!
No sit down at all. Hollow building and luke warm food.
Pretty good burger for the price, but had to wait five minutes for a plain burger… still a cheap, filling meal
Best burgers. Had the deluxe burger. Do know that they're smaller than what you're gonna get at Five Guys. So buy accordingly 😃 the fries were a bit soggy but quite flavorful. …
Great place I can't wait to go back to visit this beautiful city again
A hit or miss of quality and service depending on the time you get there.
Oh yes they famous for their old-fashioned milkshakes very thick great all season cold refreshing shake the food great french fries are always fresh no after taste like McDonald's or Wendy's
This was touted as the place to get a burger in Seattle so stopped in for lunch.
Quite the average to a bit less.
Charge for onions ketchup and mustard packets (minimal at 0.05 but still...).
The burgers were good but still average.
The fries seemed to be fresh cut but soggy. Flavor was OK.
Seems like they're trying to be quaint but with a mass production feel.
Really prefer one of the national burger chains.
Pretty good, their shakes are great but their burgers are just ok. Kind of reminds me of in and out lol
Quick and easy - they've pivoted to take out. Got 3 unevenly prepped burgers the other day...so now I'm wondering when they'll be ready for drive thru or drive in!
Food was good. Relatively cheap. I don't like that you can't make exceptions or substitutions even for allergies!!
Our flight landed late and we wanted something quick. These burgers and fries hit the spot. Would definitely go back again.
Fast and friendly staff. Delicious food! I was a bit skeptical about not being able to change or take out certain ingredients but I was glad too find out that it's because the burger goes so well with all the ingredients!
I didn't like this location as much as the other one that was like the old school diner walk up
The service was not good here
The workers were rude and I felt rushed
My rootbeer float was nasty
My fries weren't good
Burger was aight
Buy I definitely recommend the other location they have
Classic Seattle burger place. If you're visiting and haven't been here you gotta try it. Prices are really cheap but the food is amazing. Burgers, fries, and shakes are all amazing. Just has walk up windows for ordering and no seating but a fairly big parking lot so can almost always find somewhere to park and eat in your car or just drive home with it.
I already enjoyed the food...but this one in particular in Queen Anne is by far my favorite location. Very friendly customer service and the orders have always been done correctly.
Dicks is such a cool little burger place. Super cheap too. Definitely a cool part of Seattle that everyone should go to at least once, or twice, or preferably a lot more than that. Good food easy to order. Would definitely come to this place again.
Let me preface this review by stating I'm not originally from Seattle.
I have been advised that Dick's is a Seattle institution and they are much better than In & Out Burger... I will politely disagree.
Dick's is decent meal at a decent price. You can't make any alterations you simple take what they offer. If you need condiments buy them at the register. I found the burger to be very good, but that strawberry shake can revive you on off day! This is the kind of place we see family and friends enjoying a quick meal. It is not uncommon to hear people who have brought their In & Out friends to show them "what they've been missing". It makes me smile when I am here because of the people... And that shake!
It was only ok, burgers are average at best and the fries where not very good at all. What makes this place good is the sure volume of variety, which is amazing especially on hot summer days after leaving the pool or park with the kids. I would not eat another burger here, but I might try some of the other fast food treats. It’s worth trying out. Just don’t expect high quality!
Classic Seattle fast food burger joint. Upside food is good and reasonably priced. Downside, nothing is adjustable on the menu. They don't special order or make anything. Menu is what it is, take it or leave it. They are almost always busy so food ordering is fast paced. Know what you want before you get to the counter. The staff is friendly but sometimes impatient.
The fries were soggy and cold, the burger barely had pickles (more of a paste). The strawberry shake was decent.
My favorite burger joint in the Seattle area. Decent price, good burgers from plain hamburgers to the delicious Dicks Deluxe, double cheeseburger with their special tarter sauce on it, and their delicious hand cut home made style fries that are like no other place around. Plus their milkshakes are delicious also. Pretty much anything you get from here is going to be good. Only tip is to eat it right away while it's still all hot.
This Dick's is always busy, most of the day from open to close. They get through the lines really quickly which is great, and they take credit cards now! Always a fan favorite of getting some tartar sauce with your fries. All burgers come premade, no special requests - please don't be that person as we all have seen asking for no sauce or extra lettuce. Good price too for good quality burgers, fries and shakes. They have a huge seating area inside this one, which is rare!
Love this place. Super fast service. The food is way better then MacDonald's. Staff is friendly. Highly recommend this place if you want a cheeseburger. Buns are soft and it actually feels like your sinking your teeth into a real beef patty. We didn't have the milkshakes so I can't comment.
Every staff member will be very enthusiastic!
Every few months, need to go to Dick's. Still like this one on Queen Anne the best -- appreciate the sit-down dining and not eating in the car!
Seattle's original fast food chain since 1954 serving American classic burgers, fries & shakes. Cheeseburgers are on the small side but not as small as White Castle. Order 2 or 3 or perhaps a Deluxe or 2. Burgers are ok, nothing special and on the greasy side. Fries are skinny & greasy. Ketchup & other condiments are 5 cents extra per packet. Shakes are ok but filling. Prices are much more affordable than big name fast food chains. Dick's low prices remind me of California's In-N-Out Burger but In-N-Out Burger's quality, taste and service can't be beat. If you want to fill your stomach with fast food and not empty your wallet, Dick's is the economic burger joint of choice in Seattle.
I like the burgers and the cheap price! The staff really need to work on their attitudes. Dick brags about how much they pay their staff and all the benefits but the employees don't realize that it's the customer that should come first it's a simple no frills burger joint where there is absolutely no service that they provide. The least they could do is have a decent attitude.
This is a great place to get delicious burgers and shakes. The burgers were small but the price was like 5$ per burger, so no complaints. They also have several benefits for their employees like scholarships for college, etc., which I really liked.
Dick's Drive-In is inexpensive and delicious. They keep the menu small so the food can come out fast and fresh. You definitely get more than you pay for. Get two cheese burgers, fries, and a strawberry shake and you are good to go. This location, unlike some of the others, has a dining room as well, with a good amount of seating.
An okay cheap quick bite. Definitely not a Drive-in as it suggests. Small selection of food(take it as you will) and they have "chopped pickles" on their burgers that are sweet. Very unusual and off putting for a usual savory burger taste profile. It's a very cheap and quick bite and serves this purpose well.
What can I say fast service delicious burgers. Can't eat just one. All gone before I even make it out of the city. Yum yum 😋 …
What can you say about one of Seattle's icon fast food restaurants that has always maintained great food and integrity. They are wonderful to their staff. And it shows through the customer service that is presented. Great place to bring the family for a good old fashion Burger
Went after seeing the photo of Bill Gates ..... Will go back agian and again! Yummy cheap burgers and fries, lots of locations. Definitely understood why Bill Gates frequents this place. Also read about what they offer to employees- this company has such great principles and truly value their staff! Glad it's a local option that is not just well priced but so good overall
With COVID-19 the dining area is closed but they were still very busy. They are doing their very best to accommodate everyone while abiding by CDC guidelines. Im really thankful that they were enforcing the mask mandate. Of course food was fast and delicious.
Great inexpensive high quality burgers. No substitutions! Always nostalgic, and great after a night on the town. Wouldn't mind seeing a bit of an update of this location, starting to age, and feel and look like a bus station. But you go there for the burgers and shakes so it's all good.
Burgers were okay, but the taste was a bit off, seemed liked they added a bit too much seasoning, and the patty was smaller than expected. I also didn't like that we couldn't customize the burgers at all other than adding a few things. Fries were good, the chocolate shake was alright. The restaurant itself was kinda dirty.
It's fast its cheap. Think in terms of higher quality McDonald's. The fries are limp. Some like them, not me. People have nostalgic feelings for this place. If you're not one of them you will think it over rated. It is over rated. But its not bad and remember it is cheap. You are more than getting what you paid for.
As always, food is decent and inexpensive. Service wasn't bad. Unfortunatley, this location had some issues: we ordered and our order took quite awhile to get finished. There were a crazy amount of homeless people that surrounded the outside of the restaurant . While I have no problem with homeless people (as I donate and serve my local community often), I found it hard to enjoy our meal when a homeless man keeps circling our table begging for food. Other than the dew issues, food is food and family was happy afterward.
Love this place. The deluxe is delicious. It's all about the delicious sauce. It makes the burger. Plus, the fries are perfectly greasy and limp. I just wish they would salt then a little but more. But that's an easy fix...
Good old school style burger joint. How it should be just plain and simply satisfying!
The burgers here are decent, fries and shakes are also good. They open late so that is nice also. However, they do not special order at all.... so if you don't like mustard or pickles in your sandwiches then that is just too bad.
A staple burger place of Seattle. Always good, always fast and always tasty. The deluxe is my go to and is a great bang for your buck. The shakes are also really good. Lines can get very long at lunch and late night, so prepare accordingly.
The service here is beyond excellent. The employees here are very energetic and friendly instead of having attitudes. Not only is the service great, but the milkshake is delicious. Even though the price is a bit higher than other fast food restaurants, Dick's Drive-In surpasses them in quality of food and service. This restaurant is a must-visit for all Seattle tourists.
Cheap and fast. The quality is great, but the lines are atrocious during peak hour (lunch time rush) so it would be good to leave a little early if you have a short lunch break. The cashiers here must call out any time they get a $20 note or higher for a manager to verify the bill is real. The straws for your drinks are on the smaller side, a little bigger than a stir stick for coffee. Seating area is large enough to hold a few dozen customers.
This place just isn't the same anymore.. It was kinda of sad!! Food was regular and the service was terribly slow for no reason..
Very simple and inexpensive fast burger joint. Decent double-stack, though the ‘special sauce’ being tartar might not appeal to everyone. Fries are fresh, though not crisp enough for my tastes. Quaffable strawberry shake.
Always a great choice the burgers are fresh and ready as soon as you pay the service is fast too be there's always a line but so worth the wait.
This is a great spot to experience fast food history in Seattle. This location has indoor seating and there are actually PARKING spaces! The burgers, fries, and shakes are the same as the have always been. Solid, dependable fast food.
I used to go here for lunch every day when I worked in Queen Anne. The quality and taste was excellent then, I'm afraid that the last 2 times I've been there the quality and taste has fallen dramatically. I probably won't go out of my way to go there again. Sadly.
You pretty much get what you pay for here. I imagine this place is usually a classic for folks around the area, but it really wasn't all that great to be honest. Don't expect the place to blow your mind; if you want a fairly cheap snack, it's not a bad option.
Deluxe a fry and some tartar plus the chocolate shake is all you need. My secret dessert is a scoop of the Maple ice cream in a cup with hot fudge, you'll thank me later
Best fast food burger in the Northwest (Washington and Oregon). They are consistent at every restaurant they have! A simple menu that has been that way for at least the 20 years I have been going there. I like to get the Dick's deluxe, a fry and a strawberry shake. The only one currently that you can go into and sit down.
Overly rated. Highly disappointing. Thin patties that taste very similar to McDonald’s. Mostly bread. Could not even finish my burger. However, pros are that it is part of Seattle history, employees are paid well, believe ingredients are locally sourced, one of those “must try” to say you did when visiting, inexpensive and simple, limited menu.
The burgers reminded me of McDonald's a little. Overall, everything was okay when you're just looking for a quick lunch in between sightseeing.
This is a great find in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborbood. The burgers are small, yet mighty tasty, and inexpensive. There is a parking lot that you don't have to pay for parking, which is a rare find in Seattle as well. I would sum the experience up buy saying: tasty, accessible, inexpensive. A combination that can't be beat. Can have long lines but the food comes out pretty fast and still tastes fresh.
In and out in a minute. Food is good, place is clean. Great area to bar hop and the stop at Dick's
One size fits all burgers at this joint. The food is good and affordable. The frys are a bit soggy and the burgers are no frills but for the price it's good. Remember no customization on the burgers (hope you like pickles and mustard).
A Seattle classic! Consistent, quick and delicious. Now taking credit cards at this location as well as Capitol Hill.
Fast, good, and cheap.
Yes, usually you get two, but here you get all three. Now, don't go in there asking for them to hold the whatever. It's done how it says it is on the menu. Trust me, it's fine. You'll like it.
I would recommend. They're not gourmet burgers. They're just good diner style.
We stopped in after leaving a concert early at Key Arena. I had no idea it was so close!
It was very crowded but didn’t take a long time to get to the front of the line. Everything I’d heard about Dick’s was true. Great food at great prices!
This will become a regular stop for us after our concerts at the arena.
Best fast food burgers in Seattle
Ah, Dick’s. A Seattle institution and popular favorite with most anyone who grew up in the area, Dicks is routinely ranked best among Seattle’s local burger joints. Their restaurants are simple, cheap, unassuming, and reliable. But also fast, efficient production machines focused entirely on the basics—burger, fries, soda and shakes. If there’s a delay, it’s only because there’s a line out the door. If you’re not from Seattle, odds are you’ll prefer your local burger joint. But this isn’t a competition, and it’s still possible to enjoy what Dick’s has to offer.
I’m definitely a fan, though admittedly my favorite “local” burger is actually in Tacoma. But the reason for the 3-star review is simply this location. Of their seven restaurants in the Seattle area, the lower Queen Anne restaurant is the worst. The food and service are the same as any of the other stores, but this restaurant is dark, depressing, and total devoid of any pleasing aesthetics. The only thing that sets it apart is indoor seating, at least against the two superior Seattle proper locals in Wallingford and Capital Hill—which are only drive ins.
So, to sum up. Love Dick’s. Just not this location. Oh, and I’ve never liked their fries. But that’s an argument for another place and time.
Everyone here was super rude. Granted, my friends and I were there at around 9pm ish, but it's not THAT late. Cashier's were rude when telling us to swipe our card instead of using chip, and they were rude when informing customers that there was a til available. I get it. You're working late, but Dick's offers so much benefits, or so I'm told. I'm giving you my money to take my order, I'm not asking for the world. But not even just that, I found even customers were rude! I had a tray full of food, they walked directly into my pathway, and got mad at ME. Yeah.. the burgers are pretty nice here, but the customer service I experienced and witnessed was poor. It's probably not like this everyday, but that shouldn't matter.
Multiple guides suggested going here, had some friends say we had to go as well. I understand the signficance as a seattle landmark and institution, but if im rating the food, it was basically McDonald's level fast food. Their pricing structure is unique, you pay very little for the burgers, ($2 or so) and the add ons are reasonable. The vintage posters and decor are interesting. Overall, i'd give it a go for a first time experience, but wouldnt feel any need to go back.
It's your standard fast food burger. Inexpensive, basic, nothing to write home about. Suitable for those late night, everything else is closed and you're starving situations.
It's been written up as a "life altering burger", but as far as I'm concerned, that hyperbole sets you up for a hard crash, ending up perplexed and incredulous. Maybe it was a late night, with no other option 😉
As stated, it's a fast food joint, spacious, good for groups. Service is quick. Small lot for parking. Inexpensive.
This place was recommended by several people. The food was pretty good and the service was fast. I still prefer our In-n-Out but it's a decent burger.
I come here often and the food is classic. Real burgers, real potato fries, and the shakes and ice cream is wonderful. The food and menu are very simple - don't expect any bells and whistles. But that's part of the charm. Neighborhood favorite!
I pretty much grew up with their burgers and still love them since I can't even remember. I always find it funny talking about how good this place is to people not from Seattle. It's the name that throws them off lol.
Great burger joint in the city. Cheap food, but the service and quality of ingredients always seems above average. Highly recommend to Californians who are looking for an In - N - Out replacement.
Their fries are indeed made fresh and reminded me of Inn 'n' Out's fries. The burgers are pretty small and condiments are on the side. There is always a good group of people inside at any hour, but seating is easy to find. Try the strawberry milkshake.
Best burger joint in the PNW! It's so delicious, so cheap. Gotta order ketchup. Don't order small soda unless u only want 10 oz. Too small. The fries are really delicious. Two is good to order cause all of it is small portion size. Super cute too. Seattle must stop. Get a bag of dicks!
Classic 50s style burger joint. Fresh burgers, fresh fries, great shakes, fast service, reasonable prices. You can't go wrong! I recommend getting a Deluxe. Oh btw its not like Burger King where you can tell them not to put onions or katsup or whatever on your burger....you get what you get at Dick's.
As fast as any other Dick's, the lines only seem long looking in from the outside, cause of all the casual indoor seating. Has a bathroom- keep your expectations realistic about that and be glad there is one in this era of non-existent public restrooms in downtown. Very glad they aren't cash only anymore even though I JUST got used to that. Plenty of free parking for guests, I've never had to park more than a few spots away from the entrance or on the street (gasp). Also almost always an enterprising citizen of the street or two looking for donations-just fyi cause it's something I am not fond of dealing with. But I will buck up and walk right by em to get one ham, one cheese, fries, and a vanilla shake for under ten bucks.
Burgers were super tasty and fresh. They should've had seating though fur the family. This whole c-vid thing is gone to far
It's simple and it's not pricy. It's food is really good. It doesn't take long at all it is very efficient
Fast and cheap but they're really strict about not being able to take off any condiments or add anything. You'd think they could set the next burger made aside and take the special request. Also they use sweet relish. Yuck. Haha but it was still pretty good 😊 …
Affordable and yummy. Super busy before shows at the key arena, but totally worth the wait.
Food was good as always. The lobby and bathroom were clean.
It's Dick's Burgers what's not to love?!? A iconic place in Seattle to get a quick bite but the other locations have more of that iconic feel. The food however, is the same at all locations. Cheap eats but know they will make ZERO adjustments or substitutions to their food. This includes that you cannot order something like a plain burger ie patty and bun nothing else, cannot order burger with no ketchup. The way they make it is how it is and this is what helps keep costs down and consistency up.
Food was good. Fries look bad but are pretty good. The reason for the lost star is the place was really messy. The tables weren't clean the floor was littered with food and wrappers. But there was an event, the tunnel opening, so maybe they were just slammed more than usual.
Look, I get the nostalgia factor and the prices are low but if you are reading reviews to decide on a place then nostalgia is worth nothing. The burgers are best described simply as burgers. Nothing special and in fact the cheeseburger mostly ends up tasting mostly of the American cheese adorning it. Compounding this are the absurd lines during peak times.
I can't fault Seattleites for liking to recapture a feeling from their past or for visitors looking for a slice of old Seattle but if you're looking for anything besides an adequate burger this is not the place.
I had heard many good things about this restaurant. Every time I would drive past one of them, I would see huge lines of people outside. I finally decided one day to stop by and eat at one of these and to my surprise was I disappointed. Pros: They literally hand you your food after ordering, very cheap. Cons: Tiny burgers, terrible quality. I might as well go to McDonalds and order from their value menu.
Basic burger, fries and shakes. Friendly fast service. Good for late night cheap eats. Locals recommended it to us after a concert at Key Arena. Don't let the crowds turn you away, the lines go quickly.
Long line, but it was worth it. The burgers might not be the most delicious I've ever had, but the prices are good and they give them to you fast! Enjoyed the ice cream, good stop after concerts or late night walks.
Delicious, simple burgers. Fries are oily and salty and amazing. This is the place that you go to for a comfort food experience. College students live on this! If you like White Castle, you'll wish you discovered Dick's first.
Dick's, as always, is a special treat.
It is uniquely Seattle. Locally sourced food, well paid and treated employees, low price and instant service.
I got a warning from Google that other users said Dick's needs to step it up in terms if quality and service...
These comments are clearly from Seattle hating transplants.
If you want gourmet food, go someplace else, don't complain cause you didn't understand what Dick's is.
Awesome burgers, great prices, quick service. Simple and good, sometimes that's all you need.
Always great food but doesn't have gluten free menu.. The cashier was a little rude when I asked her if she can make a burger without the bun.. They told me "No we can not do that!" So I just ordered the fry and a soda.. They charge extra for drinks with sugar in them but not diet sodas
Always a pleasure to come to this seattle iconic burger joint. And now they except card which used to only be cash. So I'm glad they made the change. A deluxe, fries n strawberry shake cost shy of $8.50.. . Price went up a little but it is seattle.
The best local fast food in Seattle. If you are visiting and are in need of a quick and cheap meal, Dick's had you covered. There is no customizing the burgers, but they offer plain variations for the pickier eaters. The chocolate shake is a must as well!
The food was good, though my burger itself was a little dry from being overcooked, but the lobby was an absolute disaster. Fries everywhere, salt packets, napkins, etc, even the to-go bags crumpled up under tables. Not a clean place for your feet anywhere that I could see. If you dont have enough employees to keep the place looking decent, hire someone. I work in fast food and well know the impact a clean restaurant can make versus one that obviously has not been cleaned in hours.
I gave them a four because they have nowhere to set and a line out the door.
What's not to love about Dick's? Super casual dining with a relaxed, jovial atmosphere, good food at a great price and a proud part of Seattle's history. All paired with service so fast it's nearly blinding. I particularly love the shakes, Strawberry is my favorite, and nothing beats a Dick's Deluxe. I also can get tartar sauce for my fries which honestly is what cements my adoration of this place.
Nice establishment. Always busy. Remind you of what an old school diner really is. Cheap and no frills.
This was on a Monday 5:00 ish plain cheese burgers bun was to hard to eat all of it. The deluxe were not impressive. But has been good in the past.
The burgers were all homemade, its a great place to eat.. There were no seats lol
food is fine but the lines move so slow that it's usually not worth it
The make a damn good burger fries and shake and quickly. Not to mention being upstanding employers and active community supporters. And its an eclectic group in line all the time - a strange slice of Seattle that most closely reminds me of the slice you meet at Jury Duty. True Seattleites whether new or lifelong in line for a good Seattle burger to eat.
Nostalgic old school American burger place with insanely cheap fare. Love the burger sauce. Flavorful patties, but don't expect large portions for the price you're paying. Hand-cut fries are unfortunately soggy
Many people say this is the best place in Seattle to get a hamburger. That's not true, but they do have good food at a price you can't beat. Only 4 things on the menu, and has a 50s vibe going.
Great tasting burgers. I love the sauce. The service was very courteous. The food ckmes out fast. It has a very limited menu but that is what makes the time it takes to get your order so quick.
Too many people in line for a Thursday night but they had alot of Cashiers so it moved fast. Honestly, the Burgers taste like McDonald's but this place is more expensive. They have limited flavors on shakes and there is no drive thru. I don't see what the hype is about this place but that's my personal opinion.
This place is a the kind of spot it wouldn't be out of place if you got hit in the head with a flying Strawberry Milkshake from one of the inebriated customers - but would probably laugh and dip your fries in the cold slop dripping from your clothes cause you were totally drunk as well.
They have low, low prices - long but fast moving lines, and munch-worthy food options for you to enjoy and spill all over yourself. Honorable mention needs to be made for their Maple Nut Ice Cream - just get yourself one.
For the price it’s good! Better than McDonald’s for sure!
It's cheap, fast no nonsense burgers. Place hasn't changed since the late 60s and nether has the menu. Burger was good, fries were ok, shake wasn't the best but it's more like the milky homemade variety, less ice cream like. It ain't Shake Shack or Five Guys, but it gets the job done and it's local.
Fun 60s style diner. Burgers are cheap and yummy. Milkshakes are great. Place is clean and well run. The kids running the cash and food are all friendly and efficient.
Open late. Fries are usually not the best, but they are the only vegetarian thing, and they are cheap, so I tend to get them anyway. Milkshakes aren't bad, either. Tends to have a somber "someone just died" atmosphere, so I always take my food to go. If you're leaving a bar its the best place to go.
Always great burgers, fries and shakes. I've been saying "Deluxe, fries and a chocolate shake, please", since I was able to speak and it hasn't changed much over the years.
Be warned this is not Burger King, and they do not accept alterations to their burgers. Fear not, there's a reason they are here some 75+ years later.
Give these guys a try, you won't regret it!
I stop by Dick's Drive-In whenever I visit Seattle. The burgers and fries simple but tasty, cheap, and gets served up fast. This particular location has seating, though also locations are walk-up. It's also a local chain so you don't feel as bad about eating fast food while on vacation (or me at least).
Excellent food extremely fast service
Colleague introduced me to this Seattle icon. Burgers are not bad at all. Fries were not the best but they are fresh made from real potatoes which is nice. Their tartar sauce is bomb. The chocolate shake was amazing. Would def return, yum.
Maybe it's because I'm not from Seattle, but I don't get it. Burgers are nothing special and they don't let you make ANY changes. One of our kids likes mustard and not ketchup and they other one likes ketchup and not mustard. Too bad, the burger comes with both and that's that. On the plus side, the fries are really good and it's not too expensive.
Tastes like mcdees cheeseburger sorry, the efficiency and speed with which the burger n fries came out is great but taste or flavor nothing crazy good
POV: it’s 2011, you’ve just come out of a lego exhibition in the Seattle exhibition centre and just secured some epic power miners and hero factory clutch with the boys and you’re rocking your drip in the form of a gap hoodie with some sketchers and now you’re bouta go to this one humble burger stand that you’ll consider a personal nostalgic landmark in nine years.
Yeah it’s great, it’s epic, but most of all it ain’t the fishing store 😏😎
Dick's Drive-In is a local favorite and one of my must see places whenever I visit Seattle. This is the first time I've been to this location and didn't know they had a sit-down restaurant anywhere. It was nice to get in out of the Heat and have a nice greasy burger. As far as fast food goes it's pretty dang good. I wouldn't set your expectations too high because it is just a burger joint.
Great old school burger joint food. Super fast service. Unique atmosphere. They also carry peppermint ice cream which is an unusual, but delicious twist on options.
Queen Anne best location has parking lot but they need renovation maybe making upper level. Visited around dinner time so very busy, they said they couldn't make shakes at that time so that was a bummer. Luv their cheeseburgers and tartar !!
Friendly service and good price. It has a 50's feel to it. Tasty burgers and fries. Fast service but you can't have it made your way. The burgers are made fresh but they are all the same.
What can you say? It's Dick's. The burgers are served their way, with a few add-ons available at an additional cost. The burgers are good, and the fries are decent. The big plus with Dick's is their employment policies - generally higher than average wages, fully paid health insurance, childcare assistance, and educational scholarships for anyone working 20-24 hours a week or more. That's a pretty awesome deal!
Dick's is the best drive-in style food in Seattle! They have awesome burgers, killer french fries, great shakes and yummy hard ice cream. If you're in the mood for a greasy burger then Dick's is a great go-to spot!
This place is a must visit. The food is good and I visited several times during my visit to Seattle. Give this place a try.
There were no tables to eat at. Went somewhere else
