Reviews of Coastal Kitchen

Great space and ambiance for a Friday at 6p. Food was delicious, portions were perfect. Pictured is the Halibut with Gnocci. Would definitely go back.

Got the Fish & Chips…nothing bad, but nothing really great either. Ambiance was average…not fun like a cheap diner, and not modern or swanky fun. The outside with the neon sign made it seem more exciting than what was on the inside. Wait staff was nice.
Christopher Boyd
Sit at the Oyster bar and enjoy! We went for happy hour and the food was incredible and the chefs were super friendly. The Boquerones appetizer was a crowd pleaser!

So glad that this place opened back up again. They were closed for a while due to pandemic and also a driver running his car through their window... I felt for them. Luckily no one hurt and the place survived... They've reinvented themselves as more of a seafood place. Prior to that, they had seafood, but menu was more eclectic. Every month, they featured a regional cuisine. I really hope they bring that back... Food was good. I think they are still trying to figure out the whole service thing. Halfway through our meal, our waitperson left due to an emergency. It took them a while to pick up the ball again... We waited quite a while for food, more drinks, etc. Still a great night and the snafu didn't throw us. Just wasn't sure what was happening until they realized we were left hanging.

Our new favorite restaurant in Seattle and go to date spot. Sean was our server and they were amazing. Made us laugh and feel welcome and gave us great food and wine recommendations. Chef Tanner is amazing. He came to the table and told us all about our oysters and why/how Coastal Kitchen gets the best ones in town. Everything we had was perfect, no exaggeration. Do yourself a favor and go here!!

My daughter has spoken very highly of the Coastal Kitchen and now I definitely know why...
The food was absolutely delicious and truly unforgettable...I order the crab benedict and my wife had the farmers omelet, wow what a dinning treat...........!
Both meals were served with spicy hash brown potatoes, which was uniquely delicious........
And there's so much food on the plate had to get a doggie bag, wasn't leaving any of that goodness......Lol
Warm it up the next morning, enjoy every single bite again....... What a delicious dinning experience, will definitely returning.......

As someone who didn’t enjoy the previous coastal kitchen I have to say the newly renovated places and menu knocked it out of the park. Cocktails are standouts and food is just as big as it needs to be for the flavor. No more no less. Staff is very eager and courteous, if understandably still trying to find their footing somewhat. The only hitch is a wanting wine list. We will definitely be returning for both brunch and dinner!

We were regulars before the refresh, and I’ll admit I was skeptical of the menu/vibe change which definitely feels more high-end. We took my mom and young daughter for a Friday night dinner and the food was amazing. We got the halibut, shellfish risotto, and fish and chips. Popcorn and ceviche for apps. Everything was so good. My wife and I both agreed the food was better than the original menu, which is saying a lot. Happy to say Coastal continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in Seattle.

Food was very tasty and unique. My omelette was more like scrambled eggs but soo yummy. Goat cheese /spinach omelette. Coffee was perfect as well
Ashton Jenicek
Stopped here the other night during happy hour to get a martini and some oysters. Oysters were delicious and did not disappoint... Woof. The vibe was relaxing, and the bartender, Zoe, made a swell martini super quick and told us about some local distilleries to try.
Glad we checked Coastal Kitchen out again after the re-open!

So glad it's reopened in the evenings. Just what this neighborhood has been missing the past few years. My new favorite place for happy hour! Sure they have good happy hour specials on food and drinks, but it's the exceptional staff that really make it.
Every time I come in, the awesome team behind the bar makes me feel as welcome as an old friend. Sean, Mary and Zoey are the dream team - personable, funny, friendly, and attentive; and mix a mean cocktail to boot!
Ben Kramer
I went with a friend a year ago and must say that while I did enjoy the food (fish and chips, followed by oysters and clam chowder) the level of service was less than ideal. There seemed to be some staffing issues so I’m not going to fault them too much for that. It happens!
However, I look at the menu today after the long wait and was completely floored to see that fish and chips was a whopping $27. That’s $9 more than what it was 1 year ago. Talk about price gouging….
They better be covered in gold foil for that price!
Robert Gorini
Everything we had was good. Seafood was cooked well. Nothing was amazing. Our cocktails were the best part of the meal. Dinner didn’t blow us away, but it’s definitely worth a visit!
Gabriela Morgado
Food, drinks and atmosphere was excellent. My husband and I order gnocchi with fish and the pasta with clams and shrimp. The dishes where delicious and well served. The service was efficient and polite. It really Worth's every penny you spend.
Mason Hollis
Been here twice, once for dinner and once for brunch. They still seem to be getting some kinks worked out with the service but the food was great (especially the bread with ricotta). The brunch doesn’t have any seafood, but was still good
Shelly Hanson
Recently took our family here for dinner, wanting to check out the newly renovated restaurant. We had always really liked Coastal Kitchen, especially for their delicious brunch. The new version is upscale, featuring seafood (as their name implies).
Their brussel sprouts are to die for; perhaps the best roasted brussel sprouts I have ever had. My husband got the Caesar salad (made vegetarian), which he said was very good. He also got the bread and ricotta, which was great. My daughter, also a vegetarian, got the ricotta and beet salad, which was fresh and delicious. My son got the burger, which he loved. Two of us got the fish and chips, which were wonderful; the slaw that came with it was a bit lackluster. One of us got the salmon rillete dip, which they loved. We had beers, cocktails and Prosecco- nice drink menu, and great beers on tap.
We had the dulce de leche pot de crème and tres leches cake for dessert. The pot de crème was especially good.
Great atmosphere and attentive wait staff. Coastal kitchen has definitely upped their game.
My only criticism- more vegan/vegetarian options would be appreciated. A vegan/vegetarian version of the burger would be great.
All in all, a great dining experience, and we will be back.

Not impressed. Went in for a Sunday lunch and despite having reservations we waited for 20 minutes. The venue was relatively busy but there were a few unbussed tables within view. The staff were overworked and as a result, grumpy looking. Once we were seated the service improved considerably, and the food arrived quickly. It was average; the fish tacos lacked flavor, the fish and chips were okay and the pasta was unimpressive. Did not live up to the expectation, sadly.
Joey Padon
I love it here. Went for dinner on re-opening night. Amazing vibe, cocktails and food. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to try Brunch soon!
Alexis Ilyinsky
Went to costal kitchen for the first time since they’ve reopened and couldn’t be happier to have this as a new go-to in the 15th street neighborhood. We got oysters, cioppino, and halibut and everything was amazing. Zoe was a fantastic server and the cocktails were delicious!
Joey Esguerra
Zoey was an amazing server and conversationalist! The experience of the food AND conversation made for an incredible night. It was such a spectacular evening and we will be coming back again and again and again, even if just for the brussel sprouts ❤️
Shannon Beeman
Food and service were fantastic! Although they recently reopened & were very busy, as soon as food hit the window, it was run to tables... we were happy with how fresh & hot our brunch dishes were.
Mark Paradis
After wandering around Seattle for a good part of the morning while visiting I worked up a good appetite and stumbled across Costal. The place was very busy which is always a good sign but I got right in at the bar. Service was a bit slow due to the volume but once some patrons cleared out I got great service and friendly staff. I had the toasted chicken salad sandwich for lunch and it was delicious and a bit messy which made it all the better to clean up using the tasty French fries served with the meal. If I am ever back in town I would bring my seafood friends back here as the atmosphere was open, comfortable, and friendly. Definitely recommend.
David En Ren
Went to the reopening, man since the dreaded accident 6 month ago I heard the place had a major improvement since then and I believe so. Had a excellent experience at the bar had white wine and had my very first martini, ended the night with Salmon Rillette
Isabel Hartmann
Amazing food, love the new vibe! It’s so nice to have a actually good brunch spot in Capitol Hill
Cristi Cantrell
This is a pretty decent spot for brunch, though a bit on the pricey side for the food you get. My $19 burger was good, but I wouldn’t say it was $19 dollars good. At $32 per carafe, the mimosas add up as well. Our server was extremely friendly but forgot about us a few times. No biggie - I really liked him and he was apologetic and funny.
Norma Martinez
Great spot in Capital Hill neighborhood. We had the fried oysters, mushroom pasta, and green curry mussels and clams. All items were full of flavor, and well executed. Service was top notch.
Justin Anderson
Solid spot. Good breakfast by the look of the menu. Good lunch mostly by looking at the menu. We had the Cobb salads. One with fried oysters (pictured) and one Dungeness crab. The salads were awesome. Great homemade salad dressing, good fried Oysters, and good overall Cobb salad fixin's. Can't wait to come back for their $1.50 oysters during happy hour, and to try more of their food in general. Love that they switch through food themes here too. We were there during the Belgian theme. Next up is supposedly Carolinas.
Serina Gee
Came here for a Sunday morning brunch with a group of five, and the wait was surprisingly short. There were tons of little kids running around, but the food was good and the staff friendly. My dish (the smoker) was filled with hash browns and incredibly filling. Overall I would say this is a nice spot to go to if you're in the area.
Gill Chang
Star rating is based on food only.
Came here for breakfast during the week. They are the first place made my over medium egg perfect! The pancake is fluffy and good. The bacon is on the hard side and their special seasoned hash is not bad but super greasy.
Pro: .Good menu/ drink selections, friendly staff
Angela V
Great place for a bite. Went there for a pre-dinner snack. Fish n chips was great great. The drink was well made. Service was good. Nice environment to hang out a little in the bar area and chat. Very casual vibe in the restaurant before the dinner rush.
Lazar Yeet
The food was outstanding, but the best part of the night was our server Zoe. Fast, efficient, friendly, and funny. Just need to add Empress Gin!
David Munguia
Perfect. Rarely can I find perfect food paired with good service. Had the Salmon, wanted to lick the plate.
Jeff
And once again, an excellent breakfast at Coastal Kitchen. Very friendly staff and very patient as we couldn't decide on breakfast choices! Our group of five enjoyed some great food and hot coffee. Thanks again.
Shree Madhavapeddi
The "new" Coastal Kitchen is better than ever. Reimagined from the ground up - the drinks and food are both exceptional.
Kara Steffen
We were there when they were featuring dishes from Brittany, France. The crepes were amazing! And then the shipwreck paella-type dish was incredible as well! I highly recommend this place!
Zach Denton
Love this place! They've got it all from a creative variety on the menu which changes ever so often to the wonderful people who work smart, hard and are to fun and kind. Great food and drinks. Definitely recommend and will return.
Charlton Browning
Was recommended by a fellow passenger on the plane ride to Seattle. Was our first breakfast here and the entire family loved it. Really great food. I had the Farmers Omelette.
D Kilmer
Tried this restaurant for the first time. Great food - ate a smoked salmon and rum soaked chicken pasta along with LGBT sandwich. Both were excellent but the fries... wow.
The mixed drinks looked great, didn’t get a chance to try on this visit.
Called ahead and dogs are allowed in their outside seating area. Will definitely go back.
Staff was great, food was good, great place to people watch!
Tristan Riddell
Great to see coastal kitchen opening back up. Clear they’re still working out some of the kinks on the new operation but had a good meal and a nice time.
Ryan Lindeman
Absolutely amazing Tuesday oyster happy hour from 3PM to close only $1 for a chef picked plethora of fresh tasty oysters. Fries with eyes are a must for anyone doing the keto diet and needs a snack. Staff and environment are excellent.
Jessica Guyett
Very warm welcoming environment I was seated immediately once I arrived. Menu is vegan and vegetarian friendly. I had a Bloody Mary and Dungeness Crab Benedict which we’re both phenomenal.
Troy Ferrell
Love the changing menu here and great cocktail list too. Also come Tuesday’s for $1 oysters
Michael Beck
I was not prepared for how intensely delicious the food is here at costal kitchen. Went to enjoy breakfast / brunch, and had a wonderful time.
Restaurant environment is very nice, the staff were welcoming and friendly, the quality of the food is beyond good, and the food was moderately priced for what you get.
Definitely worth checking out if you're on Capitol Hill with hunger pangs.
E Griffin
This is a fun spot for breakfast on 15th. The prices are high but the quality of the dishes match. There's a lot of seating so there was no wait to get in. I really enjoyed their seasonal cocktails and specials and our servers were very attentive and helpful in answering questions.
Treicy Castillo
I love this place especially if you want a solo date. Staff are nice food is great the only bad part is they close random days. I’ve came here twice already with my father and my significant other at different day they said were open on the website but we’re closed when we got there. It can be disappointing when that happens Especially when you try to bring more clientele. I wanted to go yesterday but it said it was temporary closed and it still says that on their website. Other then that their staff and chefs are so sweet, Their OJ is the best OJ I’ve ever had and their shrimp panini is so delicious.
Will B
It’s a real shame that someone crashed a car into their front doors (as of 6/5 the doors are boarded up) because this restaurant is always pleasant. It has a cozy kind of diner vibe, especially righty when you walk in. The breakfast food is good yet there is one menu item I think is unfortunately lacking—the clam chowder.
Maybe it was just the batch made that day but it was less of a chowder and more of a watery soup. Does this experience make me dislike the restaurant? No. Other food I’ve had is exactly what you’d hope, the drinks are tasty, and service good.
Let’s hope those doors are fixed quickly and future people crash into something else!
Jonathan Cruz
Saw this restaurant on a Foodie Instgram account. Their Gingerbread waffles are what caught my attention. They were better than I expected. Tasted so good in their own way. It reminded me of a fresh amazing tasting eggos. A bit thicker then Belgium waffles but I think thats what helped make taste so great. Along with the butter. I didn't realize the butter had lemon or orange in it but made the waffle so delicious! The waiter asked if I wanted white cheddar on my scrambled eggs which I really suggest you do! You won't regret it! I would definitely come back here and again.
Jessica Fowler
Wonderful place to get brunch — the choices are endless. The Bloody Mary was very well mixed and the Dungeness crab eggs Benedict was phenomenal. Environment is very welcoming and friendly!
Chauncey Williamson
Absolutely love this place and its tasty menu. I recommend this place to any visiting or living in Seattle! ❤️❤️❤️
Yizu Lulu Yeh
A busy breakfast and brunch hangout place. I had coastal breakfast set. It was meeting expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Bravo.
Mari Vel
This place is a GEM! They have excellent food and customer service! Their staff is so kind and attentive. It's places such as these that help make the neighborhood special.
Matthieu
an institution —- courteous service; oysters were shucked with love
Nicole Caldwell
The gingerbread waffle with honey butter was delicious! The mimosa was not very strong, which was fine. The art on the walls was nice and tasteful. The open kitchen where you can see the chefs cooking was cool. I don't have any complaints except the menu online was hard to read in one spot where depending on your phone, it doesn't space out some of the side options right and it looks like it says one thing like vegetarian sage sausage, but that was supposed to be on different lines.
DonkyHooty
The biscuits and gravy at Coastal Kitchen is the absolute best. They don’t skim on the gravy as you see in the picture. Skip the line and go to the bar and order from the awesome bartenders.
Victoria Raya
this place is a seattle gem. just had dinner there this past weekend and have already made plans for brunch this weekend.
Joy Benton
This is my favorite place in Seattle!! Whenever we come up from Vegas we HAVE to stop by for one of their AWESOME Bloody Marys!!! Today I tried a Chartreuse Hot Chocolate that was to die for!! Love this place!!!
heather o
Breakfast is so good here, I love the spicy hash browns. The amazing bartender, Wren, made me a fancy mimosa & the most delicious Irish coffee ever with fresh whipped cream. Neil is also wonderful :)
Mike Bloom
Never had a bad meal or bad service at the Coastal Kitchen! The atmosphere is as good as the food, which is as good as their hash browns. And their coffee is great! Whenever I'm working on Capitol Hill, it's a given that I try to make it in for breakfast. Of all the breakfast places in Seattle Coastal Kitchen is in the top 5 for sure!
B. Nosam
Food quality it great but nothing stands out from taste or price. Hopefully they get back to normal business hours as it maybe impacting this place. A little pricey but that's the area and a delay with getting food but it may just be a staffing issue.
NJani Payne
Don't sleep on this place! Everything here is excellent. The menu is just large enough to make sure everyone can get something they like without being overwhelming. The food is great, the coffee and OJ are fresh. The wait staff us quick, helpful, and attentive. Even better, the ambiance is great and the restaurant on the whole is clean with a loved-in feel.
Ian Gorton
Hard to beat a Dungeness crab Benedict. And the smoked salmon scramble was amazing. Very good breakfast indeed.
Heather Crew
Absolutely phenomenal brunch spot with superb service and a cozy interior full of booths and cute art. I loved the fresh squeezed orange juice and lattes, and the crab benedict was amazing! Can’t wait to come back :-)
TeeRae Rob
Been to Coastal Kitchen in the past and decided to take my mom and dad for the first time. Both my dad and I had the crab benedict.. we both thought is was very of bland. My mom had the farmers omelet.. she loved it. The spicy hashbrowns tho... SMACKIN! Never had those anywhere. You got something with them hashbrowns. Service was wonderful as well.
Tanner Marshall
Great and unique brunch spot with a variety of items that change and reflect various coastal regions. They also serve bottomless Caffé Vita coffee ☕👌 …
D. Alex Carey
Food was decent enough.
Staff is very nice & doing their absolute best. It's the prices. Seattle for ya I suppose. Over
$ 70 for 2 lunches. No alcohol, just a near $4 drip coffee & a 'London Fog' - which was unlike any other - with the tea & just hot water & some creamer.
Overall - unfortunately, a sign of the times.
Daniel Calabrese
A fantastic spot that samples different locale's cusine quarterly. Staple northwest oyster happy hour on Tuesdays. Great knowledgeable staff and comfortable atmosphere.
Dan Hoang
Great staff and service. The food came out promptly and was piping hot. Great flavors in the juevos rancheros.
Manu Gandham
Had brunch here this weekend and the staff was friendly and great, they fixed my order after it came out wrong. The drinks were extremely refreshing in the summer heat, I recommend trying The Paloma which was fantastic. Food tasted fresh and made with care as always. Glad this place is open again and will be back soon!
Allison K
So good every time I go. Their brunch is awesome, the oysters are delicious and drinks are always good. The rotating menu is fun - definitely hit or miss for me but it is nice that they change up the menu a bit. I love coastal kitchen.
Dexter Santos
I had the fish and chips and was very happy with the quality of the food (good serving size, too) as well as with the expediency and friendliness of the service. The price is what you would expect on average for dinner entree in Seattle ($15-$20). My only complaint (and this is largely due to the layout of the place) is that it can get loud and noisy which can make conversations challenging. So, just keep that mind. Otherwise, it's a good place to meet with good friends, have a good meal and drinks. I'd come back again.
Matthew Love
On this particular occasion both my friend and I absolutely loved loved loved our brunch meals. Service was friendly and fast which is all the more respectable given the demands of this beloved time to eat, the Sunday brunch. Even something as typically mundane as hash browns somehow get crispiness all throughout plus delicious seasonings and that's just the hash browns... they do a great job.
Jimmy Huynh
BEST BREAKFAST PLACE IN TOWN!!! Food options are on point and the staff delivers great customer service to its customers. I love it here! Highly Recommended!
Charisse Ramos
My mother has extreme food allergies and Coastal Kitchen accommodated every single request, and with such willingness to do so. The waitress was great and super attentive and with a great attitude! Definitely will come back and recommend to friends. This is the type of service you can’t get everywhere.
K. Kamacho
Best brunch I've had in this area. The attention to detail is incredible! Make sure to ask for your hash browns extra crispy.... They are incredible!
For brunch, this place doesn't skimp on mimosas. Other places will give you a skinny flute of barely anything, Coastal will give you a very fair serving.
If you have any shellfish allergies, this might not be the best place for you.
Justin Frits
Good breakfast! Everyone was super nice. Very trans/lgbtq friendly which is a huge plus! Very caring individuals yhat you can tell take pride in there food and work!
Sofia Gomez Rodriguez
Different hash browns a little more flavored (not my favorite hash browns) but it has very nice staff. Fast and good service.
Danielle Billing
Went to Coastal Kitchen for the first time today for Sunday brunch and it was so great!! The atmosphere is cute and hip, very Seattle. Greta was our server and she was very kind and attentive. We ordered a bloody Mary and breve latte, both excellent. The smoked salmon omelette with cream cheese and avocado was amazing and my boyfriend got the Diablo hash which he really enjoyed as well. 10/10 recommend, a perfect brunch date success!
Kate Lowe
Great place for happy hour drinks and apps! Made one of the best dirty martinis I’ve ever had!
Jamie Evans
I was feeling a little homesick (for the South) when I came in to have the shrimp & grits. It was delicious! The grits was creamy, the eggs perfect and the shrimp on point! I wasn't expecting lard filled biscuits but they were good too. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff are really nice but left me alone to enjoy myself. Thank God!
Hayley
The québécois slam with beaver tails, fresh maple syrup, and the bacon was so good!
Scott Abajian
Coastal Kitchen lived up to the reviews I read online. They were very busy, but the servers were friendly and our meals came out fast. The fish and chips were not greasy, and the grilled fish tacos had a great flavor. There might be a wait, but it's worth it!
Arlesienne Mônica Da Silva
I thought it was nice and I would try it again but I didn't really think it lived up to the hype.
Crab cakes Benedict ... it was so-so. Good hollandaise, the eggs were cooked perfectly. I thought the crab cakes were a lot of breading and on top of a muffin it was just a lot of mush. If I had not looked under the eggs I would not have known there was a crab cake in there. And then I was doubly disappointed by the hash browns which I thought had an amazing flavor but again just a lot of mush, no crunchy top and they were swimming in oil. None of it was distinct in texture. My friend had the Lox and bagel and that was very good. Interesting bagel and it was delicious. But all in all we had a nice time, great art on the walls the bar looked fantastic. Our waiter was very efficient.
Joseph Hall
Small but very good seafood menu, huge variety of oysters, plus a rotating themed menu. Fun cocktails, beer, etc.
G R
My favorite brunch spot. Parking is hard to find and there can be a wait, so head there when it isn't too busy. The smokin salmon scramble is my favorite. The food all around is excellent. Service was really good. I love that they had local artist art work on the walls. Huge recommendation for this place.
Sissi Mattox
Our server was great, but the kitchen ignored the instruction that he passed on to have my eggs poached hard for my salmon Benedict(am issue he said he has consistently with them. I understand a runny egg is standard but if someone specified the it matters to them, come on 🙄). I’m great with other food things, but that is the only thing that I have to have exactly that way.
So to my major discomfort, I sent it back, our server was really nice about that and did not make me feel embarrassed or uncomfortable. And the kitchen was able to get my replacement out fast enough that I wasn’t dying of hunger by the time it got there. My food was so good when it did come out right and I will definitely come back.
I would give five stars despite the slip up, but I also felt that the carafe of mimosas was about five or six dollars too expensive and together those two things make me take off one star
Rose Harvard
Excellent food, great atmosphere. Specutular service. Large potions. Fresh ingredients.
Angela Reed
My husband and I have been here a couple times and we are very impressed. The food is wonderful and on a rotation, and the service was impeccable. They rotate around the globe to island nations and coastal areas around the world and bring the best and most popular meals to life for the people of Seattle. Oaxaca happens to be the current nation. The next nation to experience is going to be Thailand. We are looking forward to try Thai brunch.
Arthur Sherwood
The food is pretty good. There's a rotating regional menu, which is always filled with yummy things. Service is a bit hit or miss. Last time I went, the guy at the front got all grumble when we asked for a table upstairs for some reason. Dont go on a weekend during brunch hours unless you are prepared to wait. They are very popular for brunch.
Liz Kasser
Love this place, the food is unique and always well done. Drinks are perfect too, service is always friendly and you can't beat $1 oysters on Tuesdays. Also, it's super awesome that they serve brunch until 3pm!
Derek Welch
My parents were visiting from TX. Brought them here for a tasty brunch. It was a busy Sunday brunch, but we were seated in 15 minutes. Didn't even have time to finish the delicious bloody Mary's we grabbed at the bar.
There is an old wheelchair elevator that was in working condition and the restaurant was easy to maneuver. Keep in mind the elevator is behind a prep station, but staff was friendly and quick to wheel racking away and operate the elevator.
Kat Schelonka
Big portions, good coffee, friendly service. Fewer vegetarian options than you'd expect at brunch. I had a hash from the specials list with butternut squash that I was surprised to not like at all, but the rest of my party raved about the food, especially the biscuits and gravy. The jam was the best part for me. I would have preferred just eating jam and toast instead of my dish. The spicy hash browns were also delicious.
Sandeep Panda
From outside, this does not seek much attention. But it is warm, cozy and has an "upscale diner" feel to it. They serve brunch till 3ish, which includes some terrific breakfast options (including vegetarian and vegan fare)
Their rotating featured menus bring some surprisingly good food.
Amy Resendez
Our waitress was awesome! Our drinks we're really good. And the food hit the spot. The prices were on the higher side, however well worth it. Overall I have nothing negative to say and had a pleasant experience at this establishment.
Hank Stephens
Quiet on a Friday mid-morning. I've been here on the weekends as well and it is crowded then. But midweek is very relaxed. The food is good. They are doing an "international rotation", meaning they switch their menu up slightly to reflect a different regional cuisine. That's nice of you don't want the same old bacon, eggs and pancakes. The variations aren't wild, so you are still getting reasonable food. Check it out.
Drew Marsh
Quick, friendly service. I only had a Chicken Ceasar Salad this day which was made very well and was a large portion for the money. The environment was bustling when we arrived at the tail end of brunch, but it never felt too loud or hindered my ability to have a conversation at my own table.
Derek Sparks
Food took about 45 minutes from when we sat down. Biscuits and gravy was cold, chicken and waffles was over cooked. My friend liked the huevos rancheros, though.
Matt Herman
Literally the best breakfast I've had in years. I had the Hangtown Fry-Day, and every bite, from the fried oysters, to the scramble, to the spicy hash browns, was absolutely phenomenal. My friend had the Jok Congee from the Thai menu and was equally impressed. Fast, friendly service and great food made this a fantastic brunch. 10/5 will be annoying friends and family by recommending this place.
Vanessa Villa
Mimosas and Eggs Benedict with crab on their brunch menu were so good. Sat at the bar on a Sunday morning since they did seem pretty busy. Will definitely be coming by soon again.
Andrea Silverman
This is my favorite restaurant in Seattle. They treated us so well. Stored our luggage on the lower level so that my husband and I could sit on the upper balcony. We felt like we were on vacation because of the tourism signage and exotic flavors on the menu! We will be back again soon. My favorite item was the bacon candy!
Lil Olin
They offer a great breakfast and brunch menu. I had a bloody mary and the smoked salmon benedict and was quite impressed with both. One of the better bloody Mary's I've had. The service was good and I came back a 2nd time for Oyster Thursday. $1.50 oysters shooters were very fresh and tasty. They also had several happy hour snacks and cocktails, I recommend the bib salad!
Pardeep Sahota
Got a table right away, which was a plus. Food took a bit to arrive, and when it did it was cold. Asked for kids menu x 2. Fun atmosphere
Steen Jennings
The pancakes were pretty underwhelming, but the restaurant itself has an amazing vibe. A great, but pricey seattle gem. I recommend the Dungeness crab melt!

Their rotating menu keeps it interesting, and their staples are always amazing. The spicy bloody Mary's are a perfect brunch pick me up. Amazing oysters as well, so the oyster shooters are a must. I love coming here for brunch but costal is a great dinner spot as well!
Thabata Regiani
Really delicious restaurant! The food and coffee were great, and the staff was very friendly. Apparently they have a themed menu that changes every few months to add dishes from different parts of the world. Right now it is Belgium, and I recommend the waffles.
c howe
The place was packed on a Sunday morning at 10:30 and yet i was seated comfortably and served a good breakfast and was out by 11:15 to make muy next appointment! Very efficient.
Eggs were really good and the bacon was delicious. Potato side (hashbrowns) weren't to my liking, Spicy and mushy. Service was excellent and the price was very reasonable!
Thomas Cardwell
Calamari was absolutely excellent. We enjoyed our other dishes but the calamari was certainly the highlight for us. Cost seems to be on par with the area for a sit down meal, and is pretty close to quite a few other restaurants/bars.
Oscar Andrino
A must go place if you are in Seattle. Menu changes to a new country every so often, bringing fantastic creations based on whichever country theme they chose. I’ve been going for years, in some cases with years in between, and have NEVER been disappointed! Fantastic food and service in a cozy and casual atmosphere.
Andrea Silverman
OMG this place is so delish. I'd come here every week if I lived near by. They have stroller storage which is great and the patio upstairs is a hidden gem. The gingerbread waffles with orange butter are a great staple. Once they had a Hawaiian rainbow cake for dessert and I liked it so much that I ordered a similar one for my son's baby shower. I've never been let down at this place and it feels like I'm on vacay when I'm there. Thank you for your existence Coastal Kitchen! You are everything I look for in a restaurant experience.
Geoffrey Swenson
It seems more pricey than it used to be and not all that much better. They still do better on the old classics like burgers and pork chops they inherited from the original Five Spot but it's hard to justify the overelevated prices. The premium offerings like oysters aren't quite working they only had one variety to offer last time I went.
Aaron Lidman
Charming place, good music, good food, good service. Was an all around pleasant experience. Nothing amazing, I got the fish and chips and it was good, but didn’t blow me away like some others I’ve had. Overall safe bet for a night out, but maybe not the more memorable experience.
Mike Barrow Jr
This was a great find. Originally was planning to go to another spot on Father's Day. This turned out to be a far better decision. The place is much bigger than it looks when you first walk in. They were busy and on a wait but very well staffed and the table was ready faster than they quoted...big thumbs up on that. Two bars up front...one bar is at the kitchen and one on the other side is a full service bar. Great brunch spot!!! You'll want to have a Bloody Mary. The Benedict is awesome, and give the grits a try...buttery!! Service was friendly and definitely fast. This is now on this list of favs in Seattle.
Claire Koleske
When describing my perfect breakfast to my husband I said "I just want an eggs Benedict but with smoked salmon" and LO AND BEHOLD- Costal Kitchen delivered on that dream.
Andrew Richard Elliott
I would have been happy to pay a few more dollars for a piece of salmon that was wider than my fork tines.
Bounty Hunter Breaks (Bounty Hunter Breaks)
The spicy hash browns are one of the many reasons to go here for breakfast. They always have the best coffee and nice and hot and their pancakes or biscuits just melt in your mouth. Dang, I'm making myself hungry again just talking about it!!! 😋 …
Ann Culligan
This place is a welcome comfort in the land of ever-changing, hipper-than-thou restaurants. Coastal's food is reliably good, cocktails are great, and the service... It's friendly! It's not the latest scene, but if you're looking for comfort and solidly good food, this is the place to go.
John Turman
This place rotates their menu every quarter so you can always find something new. One of my favorite brunch spots in Capitol Hill! The servers are friendly and fun and the open-design kitchen helps to make the atmosphere here amicable and cozy.
Ronda Hydar
Went for the happy hour, had tasty fries with eyes, a dozen oysters, and wine. Husband had the Thai painkiller: small but mighty and super flavorful, then another one that I forget, but recall he also enjoyed greatly.
TJ Rothwell
Walked in the door and the smells were good. We walked to our seats in the back and the db levels went up. Am I here for brunch or a beer at happy hour? If it wasn't for this the decor would have been great.
Didn't see anything on menu I liked, so went with pancakes. The cinnamon/hazelnut dry rub they used surprised me. The syrup was good.
I won't be back.
Adam Quate
Sat down for an early dinner at costal kitchen on a beautiful night in Seattle, we were seated on the back patio. Upon arrival we found out it was $1 oysters after 3pm, I was served some of the best oysters I've had. The mahi mahi was perfect as well as the fish in chips! Great beer choices, and they gave us free ice cream at the end! Perfect experience!
Fernando Martincic
Great eggs benedict - on par with some of the best that I've had around the city and elsewhere. The service was really good and personable. We were fortunate enough not to have to wait very long for a table (couple of minutes), despite coming in around 10am on a Saturday. Definitely recommended.
Shawn Besabella
I came here for a late breakfast/brunch. Certain breakfast items are served for longer hours but I ended up ordering a burger instead. The burger was actually pretty good and cooked well to my medium request. The shoe-string fries reminded me of In-N-Out Burger. Not terrible.
The service was a bit spotty. It was either me thinking "Where is he?" or "Please stop talking to me while I'm eating and talking to my friend."
Going in at 10:30AM the wait was around 30 minutes at the max, but thankfully it ended up being under a 30 minutes wait.
I don't think this would be the first place that comes to mind when recommending a place for brunch, but it wasn't that bad.
D. Joe Kaufman
We stopped at Costal kitchen because our AirBnB host recommend it. I got the Dungeness Crab Benedict and it was amazing. Also worth noting are the spicy hash browns. Without a doubt, the best hash browns I've ever had. Service was quick and courteous.
David Peters
The absolute best thing about Coastal Kitchen is Tuesday oyster night; $1 oysters all night (they're usually great quality and there's variety; sourced from Taylor Shellfish more often than not).
Prices are a bit high, but not that much more so than other joints around (portions are commensurately large, and we're taking full plates not the smaller sized portions that seem typical around Seattle). Very kid friendly.
Miles Hicks
Great place to eat, the fish and chips was awesome. It was intended to be small and quaint but was actually more smooshed and loud. A table near by was too noisy and it was obvious our waiter was annoyed. But worth it, in my opinion. Price is good for the quality and amount of food you get.
Annelie Arthursson
Cozy place with good food! They switch up their menu every few months so you get to taste new flavors from the same chefs. The oyster bar has some great options there, too.
Candace Ho
We came here on a Sunday around 12:30pm. As a party of 2, we were seated fairly quickly (it was only a 10 minute wait). Decided to get out of the classic brunch food comfort zone and went with the Diablo Hash! It is worth trying! The sauce had a very nice kick to it and it contained a unique mixture of shrimp, shrooms, potatoes, and mango, all topped off with two eggs. I recommend trying it!
We also got a smoked salmon eggs benny - the disappointing part of our meal was that our eggs were NOT poached but was instead cooked all the way through :( RIP to the runny yolk for our eggs benny. The english muffin didn't taste the freshest but it might also be due to our disappointment to the not-runny-egg. It comes with a generous serving of hashbrowns on the side. Overall, this dish tasted okay!
J'Dnt Vega
Great taste! Did not care for the smoked salmon bagel, at all. However, the pancakes are simply amazing. The Jamaican rolls are tasty! Looking forward to eat here again.
Heather Bell
Used to go here a lot when my sister lived in Capital Hill. Their food is yummy! They change the memu every few months. Most of the time it is awesome but every now and then it misses the mark. Definitely worth a try!
Marissa Bruno
YUM! That is the word I would use to describe Coastal Kitchen. I had heard of this restaurant before during Restaurant Week and was very intrigued by the food. One day a group of friends and I went to the area to find brunch and stumbled upon Coastal Kitchen. The wait was a little long (we had a large group) but in the end it was oh so worth it. Their menu is full of variety and pizzazz. There are unique dishes and some homey ones. Their specials are always exciting - e.g. the Pineapple agave french toast. I absolutely LOVE this place and plan on taking my family here when they visit!
Diane Lostrangio
Great breakfast, cheerful, prompt and attentive service. Loved my scramble with eggs, chorizo, two kinds of salsa and sour cream with spicy hashbrowns. We will be back, hopefully soon.
Courtney B
The space is indoor/outdoor which I love. Sat just inside the bar area but felt like we were out on the patio. Hit up the happy hour for some cider and oysters on the half shell- also had to get the oyster shooters that come with a shot of vodka and bloody mix. Awesome spot!
David Dixon
The portions are enormous and the quality of ingredients is marvelous. Both of these equal a delicious meal. Make sure you get there early so you don't have to wait in line as long. Also, make sure your party is all present, or else they won't seat you. Also, with this place being so busy, it isn't the appropriate place to linger forever. Eat your meal and enjoy it and then allow someone else to do the same.
Owen Miller
Excellent Bloody Mary's. When asking for a spicy version at most bars, I get something that just tastes like Tabasco sauce. At Coastal Kitchen, the spiciness is very noticeable, while still maintaining the flavour and complexity of this timeless cocktail.
Nae Nae
I came here last night and had the cioppino which was amazing. The seafood was perfectly cooked and it came with this amazing grilled bread. The crust was flaky and chewy and the bread was airy and soft, omg so good. The place is cozy and the server Sean (sp?) was super rad. I will be back for Tuesday $1 oysters, so stoked.
samantha jensen
I've been here a lot simply because it is nearby. The food has always been good with no complaints and we have never had an issue with serving staff or anything else. There isn't anything absolutely spectacular about this place, but if you're looking for a reliable brunch place this is definitely it!
Ryan R
Staff was awesome and made us feel like regulars on our first visit. The kitchen crew is phenomenal, both in their performance and in their cleanliness. The open kitchen made it fun to watch.
Shelley Guidry
The theme this quarter is the Carolinas, and Coastal Kitchen's breakfast does southern breakfast justice. The candied bacon is is the best bacon I have ever had and the grits were perfect. I definitely recommend Coastal Kitchen for breakfast, but get there early to avoid a long wait (although it's worth the wait too).
Kevin Glover
My wife and I have been coming to this awesome resturant for over 15yrs. My wife fell in love with the place. The food is always good, staff are always friendly, service is fast and attentive & the fresh squeezed OJ is delicious! We come from 45min south of Seattle just to have breakfast several times a year. I highly recommend you give them I try. Parking is the only issue that I have always seemed to face. Due to is nice neighborhood setting, the streets are old, tiny, and space is very limited......in other words, don't come up here in a Ford Excursion and expect to find a parking spot with out planning a 8min walk to the resturant door.
Matthew
Absolutely fabulous. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Great atmosphere. Not a terrible wait. Overall, a very good experience for brunch. Plus the poutine breakfast was to die for!!
Jessica Ness
A Cap Hill classic, with consistently good food, service and cocktails. With a quarterly (I believe) rotating country based fusion menu, I always find one new dish to fall in love with and a dish or two that are 'classics' and always done deliciously. Breakfast or dinner, I have never left disappointed. It feels like Costal Kitchen is one of the ONLY survivors in that section of cap hill that, even though it has remodeled, somehow retains that Seattle magic that only comes from longevity in an ever changing town.
Louis Ronald
This is a mature restaurant, on the more sedate, but still trendy 15th Avenue. It has been in operation for over 20 years, serves breakfast lunch and dinner 363 days per year. The eating space consists of an upper level, lower level and oyster bar, with seasonal outdoor seating on the sidewalk and on a back deck. The open kitchen prepares consistently delicious meals, which are well-presented. A standard menu and a special menu are available, mostly oriented towards seafood, though they also prepare a delicious burger. The Cobb salad is large enough to feed a small family. Service has always been consistent and appropriate during my visits.
Breakfast here has been notable, and rates 5 stars.
Lavarock AV
Themed cuisine reigns supreme! After several visits, I'm convinced they know what they're doing and I love the international flavors. Keeping distinct dishes on their regular menu, the exciting part is to taste their new twists on old world reciepes.
GG Gallo
Sat at the bar AMAZING new bartender, Bryant wonderful personality great service. I highly recommend getting a drink or two.
Summer Davis
Super busy at all times, but their spicy hashbrowns and salmon Benedict will send you into complete bliss. My personal recommendation--add avocado and tomato to the salmon Benedict and extra goat cheese to the hashbrowns. Thank me later.
They're not shy about the champagne in their mimosas, either.
Colin Burton
Came here for breakfast at the insistence of a friend while staying in Seattle, and we are very glad we did. The portions were a little on the massive side (but that's not really BAD is it?), and the food was delicious. They were very accomodating to our small group, which included 4 adults and a toddler. Next time I am back in Seattle, I am going back to the Coastal Kitchen.
Lizzy Marie (#GlitterGlassesJourney)
Yummy brunch for a reasonable price!
We had the smoked salmon Benedict with spicy hash browns and smoker scramble with a bagel and spicy hash browns. We also tried the spicy bloody mary for $9.
The bloody Mary was nothing special, but the salmon was so good!
Barett McGavock
Great regional rotating menu. I went for brunch recently and had fantastic blueberry whole wheat pancakes! My cousin loved the fresh squeezed juice!
John Hickey (jfhsea)
Another Seattle staple that you know the food you order is going to be good. Met a friend for an early lunch on a Saturday when there would typically be a wait. We were seated in about 5 minutes and just missed the last of the breakfast rush. The menu changes every few months, so check the website for which region/country is being featured.
Vhonda McElroy
Seriously I'm always skeptical of a place that claims to be great in a predominantly white neighborhood. No shade but I needs perfect seasoning and I've been disappointed before. ANYWHO this place did not disappoint whatsoever. The service was exemplary, the food tasty and decadent. The decor was mad cool as well. We ate during the "carolina's" and I had shrimp and grits. Let me tell you!!!! SMACKIN!!! Like I will go back again and again and again. Perfection, trust!
Melissa Eisner
Brunch, dinner it is all pretty amazing. I love this restaurant, the service is great and the food is fresh and well prepared. The fish is over the top, and the brunch items are huge! Come hungry.
Dianne Halatyn
Went to Coastal Kitchen for the first time earlier this week to celebrate our son's 25th birthday. We couldn't have chosen a better place!!
Started with oysters - WOW!! - fresh, delicious, best I've eaten!! In fact, our son never ordered anything else except MORE oysters!
Service was unbelievably attentive, personable and friendly. We felt like we were hanging out with friends - that knew how to mix drinks and prepare delicious food!
Heather and Cera provided unparalleled customer service. Consider yourself extremely lucky if you have the good fortune to be served by either of them.
Wes Louwagie
Service was great! Food good, serving size a bit small.
Shelley G
A fun upbeat place to grab a bite to eat! Trendy crowd, friendly staff and clean environment. Good food. I had a big Caesar salad, delicious. I will definitely return.
Daniel Wetteroff
Expensive!!! Judgey staff, I felt really unwanted here. The food was really good, but it was overpriced and I think the staff thought because I was dressed like a normal human that I wouldn’t tip or something. All in all I would try it again but I would dress nice or they’ll treat you poorly. They have a deal sometimes with the Seattle food walk, that may be more worth it
Austen Hesler
Really cool place that serves dishes from coasts around the world. They change themes which changes the dishes. When I went they were serving dishes from North Carolina's shores. Supports LGBT and even has a delicious sandwich dedicated to it.
Colin Reed
Unique dishes that are really tasty. Big portions that fill you up big time. A little expensive, but well worth the money considering how much good food there it. Get one of the donuts, you won't regret it.
Christopher
One of the best breakfasts in Seattle. I'm sure lunch is great, but I couldn't bear to skip the morning fare. The Sonora Scramble never fails but if you are feeling adventurous, try whatever is on special that month!
Julie Colt
Happened on this gem on a Thursday night just arriving in Seattle. Server Chris was helpful and friendly and the oysters were delicious. Would heartily recommend the cioppino! Can’t wait to go back and stuff ourselves with oysters on a Tuesday!!
Leon Farasati
Was in Seattle for a business trip and looking for food late night during the week. Happended to stumble on Oyster Tuesday at this bar/restaurant and was impressed both with the oysters, and the entree. Very lively atmosphere and unbeatable $1 oysters!
Green Monkey
Have consistently good breakfast and Bloody Mary. Sometimes the wait is a bit excessive so it's better to call ahead and get your name on the list if you can or try your luck at the bar. If you're more than two people than you are going to probably have to wait, especially on a weekend. Worth the 15 or so minutes wait.
Mitsuyo M
Easy brunch spot with friendly service. Nice patio during the warmer months. The hashbrowns are seasoned with a little bit of spice but are probably my favorite hashbrowns in the city.
Rachel Semigran
Brunch was excellent - highly recommend the smoked salmon omelette. Oh and the Bloody Mary is a must. Go for $1 oysters on Tuesday’s 😎 …
Chris Barney
Good is awesome and I enjoy their rotating menu. I've been twice in 6 months and had the same waiter who did not impress. But I don't think he represents their normal service standard.
David Wentland
The food and service were good. Everyone was very friendly and the overall atmosphere was good. I hope a chop salad with chicken and would order that item again. Everyone in our party was happy with their food choices as well.
Brittany Fairchild
They have a good happy hour, especially on Tuesday. I just wish they had better happy hour food options. Their food is ok. They change their theme about once a month or so to highlight a specific coastline
Michelle Kantor
Quaint pub in a wonderful neighborhood setting in Seattle. Open kitchen with cooks nearby. Check out the dishes they're preparing. Seafood is one of their specialties. Casual and comfortable.
A H (CommodorePuggles)
Definitely worth repeat visits as their menu rotates to focus on a surprising number of different countries' foods. One week I went and had Hawaiian, and the next food from Brittany, France. Amazing!
Mitchell St Clair
Very friendly service. Cliche brunch is priced as expected with a moderate choice of options. Atmosphere is hip, with a slide classic feel from the hexagon subway tiles.
Gary Weinstein
My son took my wife and I here for lunch. The waiter was hostile and the service slow. My wife and I asked for Salmon over a salad. They served me a small house salad with a one inch strip of Salmon. (This is Seatte, where salmon is cheap!).
My wife and I were each billed $25 because they considered it a full dinner. The bill for 3 of us to have a light lunch was $93.00! The food was acceptable but that was no $93 meal!
Brittany Markham
My waitress was super fun and was excited to be working. I wish I remembered her name! But!!! Great drinks and great food. Good portion sizes as well
Karina Cecilia
If you want PNW seafood come to coastal kitchen! They have fun themes but their ingredients are locally sourced. I'm obsessed with their Dungeness crab cob salad! It is a full meal without being so fatty!
Adrian Wilhelmsen
Been here twice in two trips to Seattle and they nailed it both times! Love the neighborhood atmosphere and though it was busy and service was a bit slower, they made sure I was taken care of. The food was perfect! Oysters!
Cindy Kleinfelter
Been here a few times now. I love the business model where they change the menu every couple months and jump around the world in food stuffs that come from the area. (That have a coast) For example, first time was food from the Carolinas. I can't remember what I had, but hubby had a hamburger plate. Second time was food from Hawaii. I had the mahi mahi tacos. Yum. Next time we go, they are offering food from the coast of France. Can't wait!!!
Chris Dormaier
Had a wonderful fish dinner and it wasn't salmon. Rock fish tender and monk fish in a light tomato, firm and fresh. Don't miss the chowder or Tuesday $1 oyster night, right now.
Brant Goode
Excellent ambience and food. Fifth star could be earned by cooking over hard eggs over harder, not at all runny.
Aslı Bakıtkal Özger
I and my sister went to on Saturday night and we had dinner. I had eat to the named of Spanish Skillet. It was really good. Service is good too. Price was okay too.
Armando Toledo
The food and service was amazing. We had a great time here. We had breakfast and it was delicious!
Justin Mitchell
Solid neighborhood restaurant. Not my favorite breakfast, but way up there, creative menus and cocktails.
Concept rotates quarterly through different coastal regions, so look for those menu items for something different.
Jeremy O
Not a bad option for breakfast. I like their concept of highlighting food options from different parts of the world. Execution was sometimes a miss for some of the food options. A little expensive. Service was only fair. Lots of seating.
Briell Thomsen
This place was wonderful! We really enjoyed our food, I had the fish and chips and it was good. Be weary of the automatic 18% on top of your bill.
Sid Graef
My best find in Seattle.
Stumbled upon this cafe and thought the price for breakfast was too high. Then I tasted the salmon scramble.... a Masterpiece! Well worth the price and the effort of finding it again. My favorite stop in Seattle.
Ximena Narvaja
Do not recommend for groups over 6 people (really not over 4), but they were very accommodating when we tried! Food is delish, oyster happy hour is the BEST. Would go again.
vanushri rawat
Good chowder and french toast.
Place is very crowded for brunch so be ready to wait in line or see if they have reservations online.
Justin Grasse
The catfish was great! Peppery and spicy, tasted chicken fried. The sweet potato salad was also fantastic! Lots of flavor and great wine on top of that
Maggie May
The hangtown breakfast is to die for!!! Seriously the best brunch I’ve had...portion was generous too. Always a fun and happy vibe here! Must go when in Capitol Hill :)
Brendan Winter
Coastal Kitchen is a great for brunch. They have a good atmosphere and a solid menu of tasty options.
Ian Phillips
Great place! Fine chicken waffles and solid biscuits and gravy.
Good service and chill atmosphere.
Curtis James Sullivan
My goodness... What a delight in every way. If we lived here, we would go to Coastal Kitchen once a week. We had a great brunch and our service was wonderful.
Seymour Downey
Seattle Classic, a staple for a reliable brunch experience. I remember coming here as a kid and the Mac and cheese was always so delicious. Hope to visit when they re open.
Julie Pennetta
I love this place amazing bloody marys people and atmosphere is enjoyable food is superb. Breakfast on the patio is the perfect way to start your day thank you everyone at Coastal Kitchen for always great service for me and mine
Rudy Garcia (Rudy)
One of the best most consistent brunches in the city. Lots of room and great wait staff. The rotating menu keeps things fresh and they do all the classics well.
Milton Van Patten
Wow had the best salmon dish I've ever had with a Brussels sprout hash.
The oyster salad was also great, kudos to the chef!
Jess Tupper
Coastal Kitchen is a study in extremes and things of silly. Huge portions will await those that can brave the lines, especially for those who are fans of eggs. There are pancakes and waffles, to be fair, but this places loves its eggs. They do seasonal waffles as well, which are hit or miss. Definitely go to the bathroom while you're there, though, to enjoy their 'Potty Humor' translation series.
Dan Mortenson
The food here is always excellent! Wide menu that changes region every couple of months. And if you are not a fan of fish dishes, there are other delicious non-fish dishes too!
D L
Friendly, costly and so good!
4 stars for the cost shock
never dissapointed so far
their bloody mary version mix is simply a spicy and incredible favorite
for 8$ youd hope so and this is!
very dismally poor pkng options, capitol hill is a nightmare & wknds are crowded so bring an umbrella expect long lines
Rowena Clima
The oysters are amazing. They are only $1.50 each during happy hour and $1 each on Tuesdays! I went during the Hawaiian themed night and had a delicious pina colada. Mmmmm....
Rueben Otero
Been here twice on dates and the food is always on fleek. The menu is very fluid and they keep it fresh and new. The portions could be a bit larger for the price, but the quality is top.
Armando Yaws-Gonzalez
My favorite thing about Coastal is that they really do change the menu regularly. Every month or so they have a different "home port" that they feature on their menu. Every once in a while an item will be so popular that they add it to the standard menu. Another good thing to keep an eye out for is the "early bird special". Usually you can find it on their twitter page - everything on the menu before 6:30 is half off! The also have a good breakfast that has standard fare but also a few seasonal items to go with the current "port" too! You can count on coming here a few times a year and finding something new to try.
Rosie O.
Great food but they don't serve much waffles with the chicken and waffle (only serve one). It's also really thin and made with corn, not flour.
Don Lim
Service was great but the chicken with waffles was not what I expected. The waffle was not fluffy. The chicken was over breaded. I was expecting a more east coast dish. No sauce for the chicken. I will not order again.
Anthony Ventura
Food is good. Now charging a 'Seattle Surcharge" for their kitchen help instead of paying them enough. This is NOT a tax. What really pissed me off was not being TOLD they were going to add to my bill when I sat down. Just pay the people who work for you. You are traveling the world and you can't pay your help.
Ariel Stallings
Solid breakfasts, but never good enough to justify a wait. Get there before 10, or don't bother. You'll be satisfied if you waltz right in and get a table. If you have to wait, you will leave wondering why all those suckers are standing around outside. Dinners are generally meh, even without a wait.
Amy Spens
Really good good, and the mimosas were lovely. Would definitely return!
Aaron Merten
Great seafood options and modestly priced oysters compared to other seafood restaurants. Great happy hour prices and $1 oyster all day Tuesdays! Friendly and knowledgeable staff as well.
Trina Benson
Great atmosphere, ok food, ok staff. my food came to the table cold. the server didn't ask how our breakfast was so I didn't get the opportunity to let her know it was cold. I think the food may have been tasty had it been warm.
B Sward
I like the food here but always feel like I paid too much for it. I g back so that tells you something. Oysters are good but server had no knowledge of where they were from and such so that was a let down.
Dalin Williams
Fish + excellent cuisine = a fantastic joint! Having visited this restaurant recently, I would HIGHLY recommend that you try their pear Mac and cheese. Thank me later 😉 …
SHELLY PEARLE
The only place in Seattle I know of where you can get Oysters. The &Thurs happy hour, (3:00 PM- 06:PM TUE), $1 OYSTERS ON THE HALF SHELL. YUMMM!
Michael Madden
Originally I thought this place was a seafood restaurant, but they change their menu every few months to reflect a different region they build their menu from. Went for brunch, had very good, affordable food with a giant champagne bottle for mimosas.
Marissa Marcelo
Favorite Seattle staple, the theme changes up the menu so it's not always the same. Their hashbrowns are the BEST, spiced and flavorful, best ordered crispy
Julio Jaimeson
I love this place the food is amazing and I always tend to try the specials. The wait can be long at certain times and they can be busy be it is worth it. The service is great but its all about the food.
Paul Brister
This chat little place is everything about West coast cuisine. Great seafood, great craft brews, and wonderful people to wait on you. Don't miss this location on your trip.
Jono Hanks
The food was delicious, but the lox bagel was very light on the salmon. Especially for $12. Service was great.
Erica Milgate
Go for Tuesday oyster happy hour! You won't be disappointed. You can also get a bottle of rosé sparkling wine for just $20!
John Phillips
Great place for breakfast you get large portions the staff are awesome and happy hour is 8am to 10am
Phil Hyatt
We both did the LGBT sandwiches which were fantastic. My wife did goat cheese - she was happy with that. Fries were crispy and yummy.
Rhodes Hileman
On New Year's eve, I had a dozen Skykomish oysters and a Cuban Shipwreck. (sort of a Spanish rissoto with chicken, clams, and mussels). Oysters good and the Shipwreck was great. Recommended.
Ashleigh Bright
Loved it. Calamari, Brussels sprouts and oysters were outstanding. Server was sweet, even with our two loud kids.
Neo Xplores
Food was average, waiter did not check on us or refill water. I had high expectations based on the reviews, but I will stick to my tried and tested spots.
Jose Mata
Great vegan options, friendly, tasty food, nice comfy atmosphere. Breakfast black bean scramble with veggies and avocado and hashbrowns was great.
Patrick Donnelly
Great food, great service! Always a pleasure to dine at Coastal Kitchen. A definite go-to place for anyone wanting a true Seattle experience.
Ryan Challender
By far my favorite place for Breakfast in Seattle area. I have a really hard time deciding between pancakes or Biscuits and Sausage Gravy. The Sausage Gravy is the best in Seattle IMHO.
Yoni Fogel
I had breakfast: eggs, hash browns, an english muffin, and their zeppolis.
The zeppolis were overdone (almost burnt). Also there was no powdered sugar!
The hash-browns were spicy, but otherwise mostly tasteless.
The eggs and muffin were as you'd expect.
The portions were quite large as is usual in restaurants.
I was hoping for more choice; e.g. they have no turkey of any kind.
mariah ottersen
Always love their selection of oysters on the half shell and the rotating menu inspired by specific locations around the globe. Definitely recommend
Teresa Powers
Excellent buger and service!
Natalia Farr
Super great brunch. They were very busy but the staff kept up well.
Meredith Cote
Ordered eggs benny and a Bloody Mary. Couldn’t have been happier. Great service & great food. Highly recommend.
Renée Fitch
Have been visiting here for many years. I always love my experience; the food is spot on and the staff always makes sure I am taken care of. Yay!
Tricia Vestal Acklin
Menu is unique. Regional offerings are authentic. Wait staff is friendly and efficient. Kitchen is crazy busy. Will visit again.
Ryan Wheeler
🥰 Coastal Kitchen! I don't know how many years I've been visiting, but they never disappoint. …
Nickolas Carpas
Always a solid choice for company/guests that you don’t know well. It has good food and service. I only rated it 3 stars because it reminds me of the Cheesecake Factory. :(
DeQuan Watson
This space is REALLY tight. Wanted to rate it higher, but it was not the most comfortable place to eat.
That being said, Ill likely go back at some point, because the food was tasty and the service was pretty quick. Bartenders were fun too.
Skyler Gonsalves

Kind of hit or miss with food and service. Breakfast is better than dinner. Happy hour specials are pretty good. Arrive before 10a on weekends or be prepared for a wait.

I always have a great meal and great service. Good cocktails. Weird audio playing in the bathroom is the only bad thing.
Alex Hughan
Decent oysters and bar experience in the front. Full service menu is overpriced and mediocre in comparison to other Capitol Hill offerings.

Food is amazing but they are super disorganized. Weekend brunch demand is high in capital hill and they are totally unprepared every time

Great brunch. The Cajun style hash towns are really delicious. The crab cake Benedict is a indulgent brunch.
