Reviews of Café Hagen Modern Scandinavian Café
Great spot for breakfast. Tried their vegetarian breakfast platter. It serves 2, for under 15 dollars each. Love the nutritional variety in the platter which includes fruits, veggies, bread, cheese and egg. The highlight was the heart waffle! Cinnamon flavored but not overly so, very refreshing. The cream was silky smooth and fresh. I'd love if they seasoned their egg a little, and provided a vegan platter.
The pastry was unmemorable.
Cafe Hagen is super cute, and a fun place to grab a quick bite or beverage after the gym or between errands. I'm a big fan of the avocado toast, it comes on a thick slice of seeded bread that adds lots of texture, and it's perfect when you add an egg and bacon to it. They have great seasonal drinks, and if you get the brunch meal you're more than set for the morning. This is a great spot for a casual brunch with friends, brunch after Barry's, or a cute midday date.
I got their brunch special on the weekend and it was delicious! I had it to myself (which was a lot and kind of pricey), but would definitely be good to share as a couple. The cappuccino was great as well! Nothing out of this world, but good. Atmosphere is cozy with lots of plants and natural lighting around. Service was quick but a little hard to hear my name called out over the music and background noise. Would be nice to have a buzzer system. All in all, highly recommend you stop by this place if you’re in the area. Worth going out of the way for the brunch on the weekend for sure.
Stopped by here on a rainy December evening with a friend and absolutely loved the place and found it aesthetically very pleasing! It is the kind of place where you want to sit down and enjoy the coffee instead of opting for a takeout! I loved the general deco and liked the Christmas decorations too!
The staff are very nice and helpful. I tried the gingerbread latte with Oat milk. I didn’t like the first taste, but it grew on me and by the time I was done with it, I wished there was a little more! I also tried the orange-almond cake and didn’t quite like it. I didn’t dislike it, just wasn’t too impressed! I’m still excited to go back and try their other offerings! Definitely one of the best cafes in SLU!! 🙂
My favorite cafe in SLU. The food is great, the service is quick and friendly, and the coffee is awesome. They have a cute flight of all the ingredients it takes to make a mocha that you can mix together yourself (or just drink the mocha that they also give you). They have the best bacon in town (get a side order, you won’t regret it) and you can add an egg to anything - I usually get the avocado toast on thick bread with an egg on it. Yum! They also have plenty of spots for outdoor seating so if the weather is nice you should bring your dog(s). There can be a pretty long line on the weekends but if you get there early (10:30am ish) you won’t have a problem. The place has a cool modern vibe with Danish influence and is just a great spot for a quick coffee or meeting up with friends or just bringing a laptop to get some work done.
Went here to do some work for the day and found it to be an excellent spot! A little small but they have a lot of seats. They have great pour overs for a very reasonable price ($4 for a 12 oz that comes with a small glass of sparkling water) and the staff is very friendly. Also tried their quiche which was equally as delicious.
Someone accidentally took my order when it came out so the staff remade it right away and gave me a cookie for the trouble.
Definitely recommend and I hope to return one day.
Super busy on Saturday for brunch! After almost 30 minutes wait.. and having to put the previous groups’ dirty dishes & mugs away ourselves, we managed the score a table just before our food arrived
Waffle: 3.5/5
Prosciutto & brie toast: 4/5
Salmon bun: 4/5
The kind staff gave us a free waffle because of the wait.
Busy place on the weekend, but relaxing café ambience. We went twice, and the quality and presentation were consistently great! If you are torn between something savory, or the waffles, the breakfast platter might be a good choice. The mokka flight was delicious- the little mocha they make with the latte art is sweeter than the one you assemble.
The salmon on toast was ok, more of an open face salmon salad spread, but could've been better with some salt and something crunchy imo.
Lovely ambiance, loved the hanging plants 🪴
Modern rustic relaxed vibes with great atmosphere. Coffee is great, pastries were flaky and fresh, and the brunch menu was delicious. Service was great and food was ready super fast. I’m not sure why they call your names for drinks but they bring the food to the table.
Very Scandinavian vibe, hip style and lovely people. I had a salmon breakfast bun and my partner had brunch. We both had a coffee, vanilla late and sunset cappuccino. The food was great, modern and tasty. The drinks were splendid. Absolutely coming back next weekend !
Saturday turned out to be a nice sunny day in Seattle. And a nice sunny day also draws the crowd out of their cabins. Cafe Hagen was so busy that the line was long and not moving. So I returned again on the Sunday next day.
The cafe is very well designed, it's very welcoming. The pastry shelf/cabinet was small relative to the cafe size. The pastries all looked inviting.
The good: Coffee was relatively good. Not the best. The Chai was nice flavor but drenched in sugar syrup. I would suggest if cafe owners want to serve chai, dont serve from a container. Find someone from Indian sub continent and they will show you all the different ways to make chai. So chai was thumbs down.
Waffle breakfast- nice presentation and not bad.Actually quite good. I had asparagus pastry ( probably with goat cheese) and a raisin snail/ croissant. Both were simply wonderful. Minor note, I asked them to be warmed( not in a microwave) but the staff told me it is best without warmed. I couldnt have the pastry as the butter/fat in the beautifully layered pastry was hard. I took it home and heated it in a Panasonic toaster for just about 2 minutes and voila, it was the best pastry. So plus for the pastry and minus for the staff.
Staff: They were very happy bunch, laughing and really having a good time. So plus there.
The bad: Loud music and noisy, the very antithesis of a Nordic cafe. Plus the staff had to yell the customer's names so loudly when the food was ready that it simply shattered my ear drums.
Would I come back, certainly on a quiet day and time of the day. And ask my pastries be warmed.
Lastly, it's a nice cafe, nothing Nordic about it though!! ( I have been to Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Helsinki...it's missing few pastries from that region.)
I stopped by Cafe Hagen to meet up with a friend and we enjoyed our visit very much. The coffee was ok, pastries look delicious though and it has a full breakfast and brunch menu, although we only had coffee and tea.
The indoor seating area looks modern and cozy, with lots of natural light and highlighted by beautiful big house plants. We sat outside, in a patio that was drenched in sun light. When I passed by the cafe before during busier hours, the patio was usually packed but not on a Thursday afternoon. My friend and I had a really relaxing time.
LOVE. THIS. PLACE. This ambience was great, you walked in and it smells like pastries, coffee, and fresh fruit. The coffee options are interesting an delicious, definitely ask about there seasonal specialities. I was with another person, and we split the brunch board. Which was the perfect amount of food. Everything was reasonably priced, but the food WAY exceeded my expectations - which were high. Our food was ready very quickly as well. The staff are super nice, and give great recommendations. There are also freshly baked pastries, which I didn't get, but looked incredibly. Absolutely amazing. 6 stars if that was possible.
Have been here many times with my friends for coffee. Their Mocha (Mokka) has been consistently great - perfect for people who love chocolate and coffee but not hard core coffee fans. They have good indoor and outdoor seating options.
Beautiful space and amazing food -- try the breakfast salmon sandwhich. I can't rave about the coffee enough, or the beautiful dishware. I would flag that it seems like a different restaurant on a weekday v weekend. Weekdays are chill with plenty of space and an inviting ambience. Saturday mornings greet you with blaring hip hop music and a line down the street.
Really nice Scandinavian vibe. Coffee was alright. I'd go here for their brunch menu. The salmon toast looks good! Homeless tents outside on sidewalk. That's one of the reasons why I'm deterred to visit Seattle.
Always a joy to visit. Have been a returning customer for the past year but hesitated to leave a review for fear that it will get too crowded! We love their waffles in particular. Coffee is also consistently good. Pleasant environment with lots of sitting space but tends to get crowded on the weekends so come early if you want a seat! WiFi is quite spotty/unreliable and limited wall plugs so not the best place to do work.
My favorite cafe in the SLU area! All the food I’ve tried has been fantastic, my favorite being the breakfast bun with bacon. They also have good coffee and I always love trying their seasonal special drinks. The decor is modern and stylish but still comfortable. They have plenty of seating both inside and out but this cafe also is popular and can get busy on weekends! This is a relatively quick and convenient place for how good the food is and is the perfect breakfast spot in my opinion.
The staff at REI recommended this to us, and it did not disappoint. The entrees were flavorful and drinks even tastier. “get the chocolate chip cookie” we were told. Yum. Cool setting, friendly service and terrific food.
I came here on a weekend to enjoy some cafe experience at SLU. The place was booming with people even at 3:00 pm. Chatting or working environment really gave me the techy vibes.
I enjoyed the Hagen Brunch that were in a tray of bowls. They included with cheese pieces, scrambled egg, I chose the sausage out of bacon or mushroom option, toast, waffles, avocados with sesame seeds(?), and grapefruit on honey.
Super healthy, generous amount, but bit basic for the price. Outlets were bit far from where we sat, so I couldn’t charge anything. Wifi is there, with good speed but low security though. Seats were really good!
I ordered the Hygge sandwich with chicken, and it was really hot and delicious. Very fresh. Definitely a great choice. Only complaint is the price, but I suppose that’s expected for a place like this.
This place is so cute and trendy, the atmosphere is perfect for a coffee or weekend brunch date! I visited on a rainy Saturday morning and this place was completely packed! I can only imagine it's busier when the weather is warmer and outdoor seating is available. My friend and I had lattes and a pastry which were delicious, we will definitely be back to try the amazing looking breakfast boards that are so insta-worthy. Definitely recommend 👌🏽
Loved Thai breakfast and coffee. Beautiful interior and delicious food. The chai latte is so spicy and perfect.
Great place and has a great PNW vibe to it. I had their weekday breakfast board and it was amazing. Try their lavender latte for a different coffee experience.
Everything was delicious!
I had a strong and tasty espresso,
and the best chai latte with macadamia milk ever (omg so many flavors).
The orange--almond cake was pretty good too. Not too sweet or dry. Very original.
What a neat concept. The interior is chic and serves as an ideal backdrop for Instagram brunch photos. The food is quite good and well priced. The coffee is standard. I did order the "Deconstructed Mocha", which while very nice to look at is gimmicky and overpriced. It's $14 for you to pour the ingredients together. So essentially you're paying a premium to work. I don't work for free, otherwise it's a fun time.
Very busy on weekends. The outdoors sitting area is great for summer. Pastry is creative but not very fresh in the afternoon. Heard they have very good expressions but I’m not a coffee person.
Ordered mokka (less sweet) and salmon breakfast bun. Mokka was very smooth and not overly sweet (many places have mocha way too sweet even if I asked for less syrup). Salmon bun was great. Loved the bun, soft and crispy. Salmon was good. Very nice atmosphere as well!
The breakfast sandwich is good, the coffee I give it 6/10. The person who took my order was very helpful and nice. The outside seething is nice as well.
I love Cafe Hagen’s breakfast bun ❤️ Though I’ve had better matcha lattes. Aside from their food, their space is conducive for working—if you’re doing heads-down work and don’t mind music in the background. It’s also just a cozy place to spend time at with friends. It’s one of my go-to cafes in SLU!
The place served us delicious breakfast. The interiors were so so beautiful with lots of plants [Favourite decor] ... vines and a Christmas tree. The vibe was very festive today morning . Loved the food .. I ordered weekend brunch without meat ... replaced it with sautéed mushrooms. The pumpkin spiced latte was good too !! #breakfast #heart #coffee #waffles #sundaybrunch
Loved their coffee and spinach quiche! I was there during Christmas and they had a freshly made gingerbread, oh man! It was out of the world.
Chic little Cafe! More than just homemade coffee and pastries! They offer Scandinavian brunch/lunch eats along with wine and beer and Mimosas !! Cute and elegant hidden in South Lake Union . Good for laptop work , or casual conversation.
Highly suggest the weekend breakfast platter and a flight of espresso! The waffle and house whip cream is a must regardless, it’s the perfect light sweet treat. @Little_Lady_Big_Bites
Great decorations and amazing vibe. An ideal place for weekend brunch. They offer breakfast set on Saturday and Sunday starting at 9:30 am. This is a must try for your first visit. I really love the waffle and avocado with sesame. They currently have a seasonal drink called pinna colada iced coffee, an interesting summer drink , highly recommended. I suggest to go early like 9:30 on weekends otherwise they can have a long line.
Good food, the labor day special was surprisingly reasonably priced. Not a huge fan of them co-opting the Danish aesthetic just because it's charming (call it smørrebrød not toast). Bathroom was filled with flies. Staff was friendly, chai was delicious.
First time going and had an excellent experience. Great spot for breakfast or lunch. Their coffees and sandwiches are to die for. I went with my girlfriend, she had the ginger chicken salad and said it was the best salad she’s had in a long time.
Bonus points for Alexi. He made it so enjoyable to order and eat there. Definitely coming here many more times!
I was here on a Sunday morning, and it was pretty dang crowded with South Lake Union Locals (so young urban professionals in the tech industry). The cafe looks modern and sleek with some nice plant decorations. Some Instagrammable shiz. They pump this music that makes you feel like you are in an H&M. Food and coffee is very pricy as well. All in all not personally for me but someone else might be into it!
We tried the espresso martini and the fruit waffle. The espresso martini was really nice and not what I expected. More like a smooth glass of cold brew. Definitely was buzzed. Had a good time. The shop is aesthetically pleasing. The waffle was a perfect danish waffle. There was a whipped cream topping that was really tasty.
Been here tons of times now. They're always super nice and quick even when they're busy. Lots of coffee options and milk alternatives. The food is really good, I love their brunch. There's a good variety of pastry options. And they're dog friendly. My dog loves going in for a cup of whip cream.
Amazing pastries! Great coffee and friendly staff. The only thing I’d change is the music. It was super loud techno at 8am, a little weird.
Great cafe with perfect indoor and outdoor seating. The vibes are immaculate and the food is just as good. Coffee is perfect every time, no matter what you get. I come here for business meeting and just when i want to work from home somewhere besides my living room. 10/10 would recommend.
Always love my experience at Cafe Hagen. The staff is always super nice and helpful—going above and beyond to make me feel at home. I’m a big coffee fan and the different roasts that they bring in always deliver on flavor. The food and pastries are always delicious too! Overall a phenomenal cafe if you’re looking for great coffee, great food, and a modern vibe/aesthetic.
Cafe Hagen is my favorite cafe in the area! I go here almost every morning and it is always great. My favorite is the iced vanilla latte and the seasonal jam waffle is amazing as well, and you can’t go wrong with a pastry! This place has the best vibes, great seating options, a great staff, and the coffee is the best I’ve had since moving to Seattle.
Great neighbourhood cafe. I’ve stopped by here to get coffee and their baked goods. I love their mocha and twisty seed pastry (it has a great name but I’m forgetting!). Their danishes are yummy too, as is the avocado toast. This place gets super busy on the weekends, so seating is crowded/limited, but otherwise cosy vibes all around :)
Such a cute vibe! Loved the views, the food was amazing, prices were good for the location. Highly recommend!!
Fantastic all around! Customer service was very friendly, atmosphere was great for breakfast and the Brie and Prosciutto sandwich was 12/10. I will have dreams about that sandwich until I go back. Perfect combo of sweet and salty!
I tried the skillet breakfast and the pour over and everything was excellent, I loved the vibes. Great spot for breakfast!
I have been working remotely in Seattle for a week and have tried out several different coffee shops to work from and Cafe Hagen is hands down the best. Indoor and outdoor vibes were both great--lots of plants and natural light. Relatively quiet compared to other spots. My latte and veggie sandwich were both great.
I do not say this lightly, this was one of the very best lattes I’ve ever had. Absolutely beautiful flavor profile and silky milk. The atmosphere is chic and lively. Very busy and hard to find a spot to sit, but absolutely worth a visit!
Cool place for coffee. Avocado toast is so so. Could have been better given the price tags.
Loved the atmosphere and staff at this little coffee shop! It was a great place to wait out the heavy rain and plan our day in downtown Seattle.
This place has a good vibe and will attract a lot of young crowd. The ambiance and the staff are also great.
I’m not a coffee person, but tried Lavender Latte here basing on recommendation. It was not a great experience and I might never try it again.
Popping!!! Fun upbeat ambiance and beautiful interiors. Haven’t tried the food but all looks delish.
Service was notably slow at 2 pm, food was mostly delicious. Solid service. Highly recommend the clam chowder. Skip the tuna melt and spicy tacos. Dining on the wooden porch is the best location.
Delicious turkey pesto, bread is really good.
1 hour internet limit, speed seems laggy but good enough to surf the net.
Good food, but the pop music is way too loud. Got the oat milk Copenhagen latte, peach creme brulee pastry, and Belgian waffle. The waffle was perfect, the pastry very good, and the latte disappointing. The main flavor of the latte was that overpowering false vanilla of many nut milks.
Love the place. Would give 5 star for the weekend experience. And 1 star for the week experience. During the week the music is not ‘Hagen’ (comfortable, cozy, convivial). Dance music blasting. I had to my volume maxed out. During weekends I am quite content with ambiance and music and don’t even wear earphones. Unfortunately my week days café is closed today. I will have to suffer ill suited music for the time (morning) and place (a café).
Such a wonderful place to go for coffee with a friend, or sit and work. The staff are super friendly, especially the one Barista named Noel. I look forward to seeing her every time I go! The Chai is my favorite.
Loud music, hard surfaces, therefore noisy. They shout your name when your order is ready (not a great system for the hearing-impaired). The "Hygge" sandwich features Spanish style cheese and chicken, along with Italian style stringy prosciutto on ciabatta. As I was eating, I questioned how Scandinavian it was. The stringiness of the prosciutto had prevented the kitchen from slicing the sandwich in half. I was unable to bite it effectively either, so each time I took a bite of the sandwich, it slid out (and I have good teeth!).
My latte was nice, and the crunchy bread was nice.
Avocado toast is amazing, get it! Will be getting the brunch next time, the table over ordered it and it looked amazing as well. The vanilla in my latte was a bit too strong but otherwise is good.
Cafe Hagen is a tasty and the environment is really nice. They have a great mix of indoor and outdoor seating available. They are baking in house so the places smells really delicious. I’ll definitely be back!
Amazing staff, interior design, vibe. Super delish coffee and food. We ordered the beet and avo toast, and salmon mouse toast. Exceptional! 👌🏻 …
I’d used Hagen’s beans at home and tried them before at Venture Coffee Co, so I knew I’d get great espresso here but baristas Ryan and Zach took it to the next level. Super knowledgeable and top quality espresso. Also passes the vibe check!
A very welcome environment with delicious coffee and food! I absolutely love their chai tea latte. One of my favorites in Seattle!
Love.This.Place
They have very limited items on the menu but they're all very good. I've tried the brunch tray, the avo toast and coffee here and loved it all. Especially mocha flight which makes for great instagram pictures.
Amazing variety of espresso selections and food!
I tried a single origin of the week cortado and later a house blend cappuccino! Both were amazing and their house blend espresso was very smooth , low acidity, and more of a medium (aka not-burned) flavor
OMG! This cozy little cafe somehow blends chic and homey while serving some of my favorite breakfast/pastry shop in the city. Top marks for Cafe Hagen!
The coolest new cafe in SLU. Great variety of tea and coffee. They have some great sweets and include coffee flights. Great casual date spot or for a small group hang out! I ordered the ginger tangerine tea and was very impressed. Service was prompt, friendly and professional.
As others have said, perhaps their menu is in flux. Even though it's supposed to be a Danish cafe I can't say either of the items I tried screamed that it wasn't just an American cafe in a city.
The chicken pesto panini was an uninteresting (which doesn't necessarily mean bad) grilled chicken sandwich with cheese, pesto, and arugula on pressed focaccia. It was good.
The salmon breakfast bun was salmon lox, cream cheese, egg, and arugula on a soft white bun. Filling and tasty, but again, not very interesting.
I might order from them again because the food was good, but definitely nothing to write home about (based on what I had).
I really liked this place, the avocado toast and the cortado it’s amazing!!!!
I love coming here for a sunny day. Their patio is south facing so you get plenty of sunshine. The Mokka is so rich and creamy. They definitely care about your coffee experience.
Wonderful brunch items and my first macadamia nut latte (which was also delicious!). Very dog friendly but be sure to keep at ear out for you name inside as they are only serving the patio during this time.
Wow, Seattle- here is your newest gem! A friend and I were out & about in Seattle, stopped by Cafe Hagen to give it a try. So well worth the stop!
My friend had avocado toast with a poached egg, which he loved and I had a goat cheese and jam focaccia bread sandwich with microgreens ( I can't do tomatoes so they omitted them for me).
The sandwich was amazing, the bread was fresh and the ample amount of goat cheese was perfect with the jam they chose for it. The microgreens added a mild spicy crunch to the taste and texture profiles. So good!
My cortado was excellent! Cafe Hagen does coffee and they do it well. It was presented on a nice serving board with a glass of sparkling water- as a cortado should be. I've had coffee all around Seattle- and this is up there with the best shops!
Cafe Hagen is a very proper and legit coffee joint. The employees were friendly and helpful- and made some great menu suggestions. The atmosphere is really chill. The music was loud enough to hear, but not loud enough to distract from our conversation.
I will be back for sure next time I am in Seattle!
This place is amazing! I love the ambience and decor. Their coffee drinks are amazing! The Cafe Kobenhaven and it was a little sweet for me personally but otherwise very good! (It does have condensed milk so idk what I expected LOL) the salmon toast is amazing, with the fresh fill on top. Can't go wrong with any of their food even thought it IS a little pricey but at least you get quality for it! Definitely becoming one of my favorites very quickly.
Really enjoyed this place. Good vibes and really good coffee. Want to come back and / or drinks
Edit: came on another Sunday. Just so many vibes here
One of the best coffees I’ve had. Please do try their cappuccino with Macadamia Milk and the mushroom sandwich, you won’t be disappointed!
Nice Scandinavian style cafe. Pastries are based on traditional Scandinavian types with some continental types mixed in. Coffee game was strong on the latte I ordered.
Ordered Chai Tea Latte & Salmon Mousse Toast. The Salmon Mousse toast had a mountain of salmon mixed with cream cheese. And, the chai tea latte had the right amount of spice!
On weekends, the breakfast and brunch rush can be quite busy. This is a very popular spot even on weekdays and a line can be expected. The service is quick and friendly and the menu interesting with fun seasonal options that make it worth stopping in.
first time here, everything was so good! well balanced dishes, great flavors, pastries were fluffy and perfectly baked, yummy coffee, lots of cozy seating, big fan 🖤
Absolutely fantastic. Pictured is their vegan pudding and although I'm not vegan, it was absolutely to die for. I wasn't able to capture it but I also got the mocha flight and I was stunned. You get an espresso, chocolate chunks, steamed milk and then a mini version of the latte itself and it's ADORABLE AND AMAZING. Although still in their soft opening stages, Cafe Hagen is the place to go.
Lovely cafe with a super cozy vibe. I got their signature mocha (w/ oat milk) and the avocado toast, both were very tasty.
Love this place! The coffee is always amazing and the baristas here are the best!
Bright airy spot with outdoor seating, coffee, wine, and food. Didn't try any food but the matcha latte was excellent
Great atmosphere and great food and coffee menu! Their food tastes of fresh quality ingredients, fantastic.
Not bad. The chocolate mousse cake was a let down as it tasted and felt super dry. Had that "sitting in the fridge for a while" taste.
Got a fantastic hot chocolate from Daniel! Wonderful vibe and very clean space overall
The experience, customer service, food, atmosphere were all perfect. I do highly recommend this Cafe.
Cafe Hagen near South Lake Union is one of my new favorite coffee shops serving great tasting pastries and brunch. There may be a queue on the weekends, but it's totally worth the wait. The cozy, hygge decor, is warm and inviting. I'm looking forward to sitting outside on the patio this summer.
Recommendations:
1) Try the brunch board. Bacon, scrambled eggs, danish waffle, cheeses, and house baked bread.
2) The chocolate chunk cookie is so good. Definitely worth ordering an extra to take away.
A great coffee shop with amazing coffee selection. I got the Mokka and absolutely loved it. My girlfriend got a special cardamom coffee and it was also super delightful. We ordered the breakfast skillet and it wasn’t anything mind blowing but still good. The only reason this gets 4 stars is due to how loud the music was. Really wish we could’ve enjoyed the vibes of everyone without loud blaring music. Hard to focus on work with so much noise. Otherwise great!
Nordic cuisine
The best salmon I have ever tasted in my life!!
The quiche was very good too
Super yum and cute place with great breakfast buns. Truly amazing sandwiches and coffee. Wish we lived next door!
I enjoy this place and their food is amazing! Drip coffee is ok, haven't had an espresso yet but judging from what I see other people order I'm going to guess it's amazing.
Definitely have to go early the line is out the door and you're not going to find a place to sit if you go after 10:00 a.m. on a weekend
Friendly service, got a free pastry since they were close to closing time which was nice. Ordered drinks with oat milk but got whole milk instead, but they were nice to remake them and they were very good. The biggest drawback is the super loud music which unfortunately you can hear even sitting outside.
One of the best spots near SLU. Amazing coffee and food. This place has a different vibe altogether
Not a great cafe to work from. Lots of people and loud music on a Friday afternoon. You get kicked off of the wifi after 2 hours.
I love this place, has the best coffee. I'm a regular at this place because of their coffee.
Eating is a bit limited as I am a vegetarian and there are not many eating options without egg or meat. They have recently added potato salad which tastes amazing but that's the only savory vegetarian option for a meal. I hope they restart the pesto vegetarian sandwich they used to have earlier along with the current option. Do visit for an amazing coffee!
I really like the atmosphere here, lots of plants and a great patio. The breakfast sandwich I got was pretty good, but I wasn’t impressed by their cold brew.
Great menu and nice place to hang out
As someone who does not typically love coffee, this place has really good coffee!
I am a former barista who worked with specialty coffee, so I know what to look for.
The cafe space is lovely. However, the barista didn't know how to make a cappucino properly. I received a latte with a tiny bit of extra foam. However, they got the extraction correct, so that counts for something.
If they can spend that much on interior deco then maybe they can invest in training their baristas a little better. I expect more from a cafe in downtown Seattle.
The coffee and the food is great! The staff was friendly and the ambiance was 🙌🏻
Staff was awesome and the coffee flights were great! Also dog friendly!!! (Gave our pup a puppiccino with a treat :))
Go check them out!
Very tasty food and creative drinks. Portions tend to be a little small (other than brunch). The ambiance is both cozy and elegant
I like this cafe for food and the atmosphere. However twice now I’ve gotten an iced americano and there’s barely any ice in it. Today I asked for extra ice and it had maybe 5 ice cubes which is frustrating because the barista poured out some coffee to put the ice in so I lost some espresso. Also he was kind of rude when I asked for more ice. Shortly my coffee was room temp and had way too much water.
My favorite coffee shop in Seattle! It reminds me of my semester abroad in Copenhagen. Food and coffee are great!
It was a wonderful experience. I loved how polite and respectful the people working there is. Also plants are a really good touch 😁 …
I love Cafe Hagen, I have visited it and it is always amazing, the music is great and the staff is very friendly all the time
Excellent coffee. Nice environment. Interesting menu
Great Cafe! Tried their special Kobenhavn Latte, Espresso Flight and some baked goodies. The latte and baked good were great, though was not a fan of the espresso flight. Too acidic for my taste. Was at the SLU location and was really packed. Like the overall vibe, was very lively and active. I will go there again for sure and try other things. Just one thing that bothered me a little was how loud the baristas would call out the names of people when an order was ready. Next time I will definitely avoid sitting right next to the pick-up counter.
Ordered espresso flight and avocado toast with egg and bacon, excellent food, will come back for sure!
Coffee + drinks are good, but nobody order the Skillet dish.
Literal hot, bland sloppy dogwater with undercooked tomatoes, onions, and soggy greens mixed in with overcooked eggs, mushrooms, and cheese..for like 17 bucks! Boo.
Great presentation! Avocado toast is begging for salt on it. The grapefruit being drizzled in honey is also slightly annoying. It’s a fruit to eat with your hands, so hopefully they can just put it on the side so you’re not covered in sticky mess.
Great cafe for coffee or a brunch/munch spot.
It was okay. The cafe decor and vibe is good but the food was just average. It is a place that is optimal for chilling with friends while working. Coffee was average too. Nothing to write home about.
One of the best cafés in town. Must try it.
I was torn on how to rate cafe hagan. The food was unique and tasted nice, the atmosphere was stylish and welcoming with plenty of seating. However, I was off-put by the pastry case full of tiny flies and fly traps. Perhaps just leave the pasty case empty. The wait was much longer than expected for counter service, so be sure to bring company to pass the time while you enjoy your coffee. The pricing isn’t bad, but good quality food comes at a premium here. By the time I added fresh fruit, bacon, and coffee; my waffle and coffee at the counter were $23. The restaurant does seem pretty new (summer 2021), so I hope with some time the kinks will be worked out.
Really lovely brunch plate, and I love the environment with the greenery. Leaving off two stars for the mokka flight and awful ambiance - the coffee was extremely acidic and definitely not worth $13 for a de-constructed tiny cappuccino. As for the ambiance, it was so hard to enjoy our food with them BLASTING club music - I'm a fan of EDM but it was a full on trap house rave party at 11AM when we were trying to enjoy a nice casual brunch. I wish they would consider playing classic cafe music or even pop or r&b. Honestly, anything would've been better than the heavy bass that was just blasting. It was really difficult for us to even hear each other talk without having to scream across the table.
The menu may be small but the quality of dishes and the service is excellent, good opción for a breakfast.
Good pour overs, and tasteful Scandinavian decor. The blasting music overhead didn’t feel to fitting with the ambiance.
I LOVE this place!! Amazing food and coffee!! Love the vibe always!
One of the best latte's I've had in the area. Then when somebody took my food order, they made it again and provided a complimentary pastry. Would highly recommend.
Hands down the best coffee spot in Seattle. Everything is high quality, including the staff. Noel is the best!
Perfect vibe for waking me up with fresh mood❤️ loved mini waffle with iced jam
Great avocado toast, I had a 8oz latte. Food and coffee was spot on! Also everything was served in a danish design mugs and plates, felt like I am in the middle of Copenhagen.Coming back again for sure
it is a great option if you are already bored of the cafes of large companies it is a cafe with a unique style with large spaces the coffee is quite good and quite cheap it has other options not only coffee and also food the location is perfect close to many many places including a park is perfect to come with friends or have a long talk or if you are looking for a place to work.
Beautiful, modern and stylish cafe with generous patio seating and, mostly importantly, delicious food!
Awesome coffee shop with A+ fresh food and pastries, vibes are immaculate in here. 10/10 would recommend
Best brunch place in South Lake Union. Their atmosphere is amazing and full of life and the food is incredible. It’s pet friendly and on a beautiful sunny day for brunch it cannot beat
Cute latte art💗 nice place to relax after class:)
Great environment to hang out or work. Staff is super personable and helpful. Food offerings are solid and light. Excited to keep coming back here and see the rest of the improvements that they have planned.
Neat place, packed with people working on their laptop on a weekday morning. Food and drinks are good but a tad expensive.
This is one of my all-time favorite cafés in the United States! I've lived in several states in the US and traveled abroad and I must say that this is exactly what I think people want in a café but don't often find or sometimes don't even know they want.
Besides the beautiful ambience, seating and friendliness of all of their staff, the food selection and quality as well as the drinks are superb!
Plenty of great options to choose from including a few alcohol options. The sandwiches and pastries are top notch and you can tell everything is made right here between the quality and the fact that you can see the small kitchen area behind the counter.
The first time I came I was absolutely floored by what a great place it was but decided not to write a review because I wanted to give it time and come here often. By now I've probably been here 10 or 15 times and I absolutely love it!
If you wanna go to a very relaxing, beautiful and delicious café in Seattle I highly recommend this above all others!
If you are someone who appreciates a good atmosphere and an even better cup of coffee I would not pass up this gem. It’s like they hit copy paste on the coffee culture of any Scandinavian country and put it in this cafe. Their seasonal drinks are quirky and refreshing, and their pour overs are excellent. I was expecting nothing less from a Seattle coffee shop, and Café Hagen delivered!
Love this cafe! I go out of my way to drive from Tacoma and grab a cup of that liquid gold! Such a cool atmosphere!
My go to is a simple vanilla latte, but recently I’ve noticed that the coffee has been inconsistent. It’s never horrible, but sometimes it’s more milky, other times darker. just wanted to bring this up because i’ve noticed a few new baristas, which is awesome, yet i know every customer deserves a perfect cup of coffee every time ! :)
Cafe Hagen has the most amazing ice vanilla oat milk latte! With such an amazing flavor & smooth coffee you want to go back daily!! The staff is very welcoming and I loved the new manager. Such an amazing atmosphere and amazing food/coffee!!
a regular at this spot! coffee is good and everything is very aesthetic. music can be a little loud (bring noise canceling music if you're working) great seating area and pretty clean restrooms. love the swiss cheese plants:-)
Located at the corner, cafe Hagen has such a nice view. Love my drink today - Rasberry Refresh, thirst-quenching and yummy 😍 …
Turkey bacon sandwich is delicious!! Chocolate chip cookie is to die for!
I love this cafe. It has such a great vibe. Fun music not too loud, spacious, delicious food. It’s a great spot for friends or coming solo to do some work in the cafe. The outdoor is great too with the option of high tops. The customer service is excellent. The food is excellent. I love everything on the brunch menu, but my favorite is the avocado toast and the Nordwest brunch. It’s delicious!
Tasty coffee. Awesome decor. Super excited they opened!
Seattle Fog is my favorite drink now thanks to this cafe. Love the ambience here. I do hope that they have more vegan food options and compostable cups.
Cute Scandinavian brunch location with a nice coffee flight and seasonal lattes!
This cafe is AWESOME, with all the food and drink items being delicious on top of the really neat ambiance. Their outdoor seating area is really cool, and the staff are always very friendly. It's my top coffee spot in the SLU for sure.
Cafe Hagen is so charming! I ordered the mozzarella salad and it was so delicious. I was surprised by the picked fennel, and was intrigued so I decided to order it; the cashier recommended I add a soft boiled egg, which was a great choice and perfectly cooked. I ordered an espresso, which, as a barista, I can say was very well made. I definitely will be going back.
The pastries here are amazing! I'm not usually a pastry fan, but everything I've had here (or tasted from friends) is great! My favorite is the seed snapper, a beautiful braid, slightly sweet, covered with poppy seeds and sesame seeds. A savor sweet perfection!
A very aesthetically pleasing place. The music was blaring so it's not a great place to listen in on meetings. Additionally wifi is slow, there are few outlets, and after a couple hours of using the wifi, they blacklist your device for an hour to reset. Completely threw off my partner and I's working time. I got to take an hour break I guess
It's fine but let's be honest, a coffee and a sandwich is $30+. There are multiple coffee shops in the are for half the price, half the wait.
Good lunch spot with freshly prepared sandwiches.
Weird music and kinda rude barista but the coffee is amazing and so is the space. Will be back
Ok, guys! The brunch here is incredible. This is not an American, heaps-of-greasy food-slathered-in-cheese-and-gravy type of brunch. This is fresh, delicate perfect little heart shaped waffles, fresh fruit and avocado, AND bacon and eggs. This is more food than you probably can eat but so beautiful and light and fresh you'll try! Share it with someone and get an amazing coffee to go with it.
I would highly recommend this spot. I had a cappuccino with oat milk and a breakfast bun with sausage. Both were amazing. The cappuccino was frothy and smooth. I dont like an overly creamy coffee and this was just the right amount, I could really taste the espresso. The sandwich was perfect, I would definitely get it again!
This spot is stunning inside and out, with an incredible coffee program and baristas who really know what they're doing! On my most recent visit I had a perfectly dialed-in espresso shot and a seedy, twisty pastry from their brand new bakery location in Queen Anne, however I've tried most of the menu at this point and have never been disappointed! Special shout-out to whoever maintains the plants - they are always THRIVING.
I feel so lucky we managed to visit Cafe Hagen on their last day before temporary closure! As everyone else has said, it really does have fantastic decor and ambiance-- I can't wait until we're able to come back, eat brunch, and drink fantastic coffee while sitting in their wonderful space. We had espresso drinks and some house-made pastries for our first visit, and those have secured our repeat business. These were the best latte and cappuccino that we've had in a long time-- really well-done milk foam and delicious espresso underneath. We'll definitely be back once they reopen!
Love! Their vanilla lattes with macadamia milk and avocado toast are delicious and the staff are lovely !
Their brunch platter is so great. The cafe is full of beautiful plants.
Excellent seasonal syrups for their lattes/beverages.
Always an excellent selection of pastries and baked goods.
Beautiful decors and comfy atmosphere with great variety of coffee drinks. Their salted caramel latte is a must try, one of the best I have ever had. Cafe Hagen is in a quieter part of Seattle and is a great place to relax on weekends.
Scandinavian cafe with amazing breakfast buns, fresh croissants every day and beautiful brunch on the weekends. Avo toast is still my go-to, plus they don’t skimp on the avocado! They also roast their own coffee and it is my absolute favourite in the city.
Love the Salted caramel latte w Oat or Macadamia milk, and plenty of other coffee choices Seattlelites usually like. The specialty coffees are unique and flavourful.
Food is fresh!...veggies, cheese, bread. Avocado toast is the best I’ve ever tasted, they season it which adds to the flavour.
If you want to splurge, get the breakfast brunch. Includes everything - waffle w whipped cream and jam, avocado, scrambled eggs, toast and you can choose mushrooms or sausages or bacon on the side. Delicious.
They keep the menu fresh & update it according to the seasons.
Music is great, love EDM and they usually play house music which is right up my alley.
Good food, good vibes. Recommend!
Food was ok. Just a little bit too crowded for weekend’s morning
Delicious! I got the avocado toast with bacon and a hard boiled egg. Divine! It was my first time ever having avocado toast and it was o actually worth it. They don’t just put a little avocado, they spread it on there and make sure it actually tastes good.
The interior is so cute and modern. It is very nice place to chill if you’re working remotely or if you have friends visiting. I’m my opinion it is a very ‘Seattle’ cafe. I highly recommend trying it out.
Great new coffee shop in the Cascade side, of South Lake Union. If you think this neighborhood is dead on the weekends, you should check this place out on a Saturday morning. Great food choices, delicious pour over coffee, and perfect espresso pulls. You can even get an espresso trio tray if you are feeling adventurous. And to top it off, this space has a good vibe with cozy seating.
I go here about once a week for the breakfast bun or avo toast. I don't drink coffee (although I hear it's very good) but their Chi Chai is my favorite - just the right amount of spicy. They have a lot of outdoor seating, and they recently opened up a few tables inside, but still keep windows and doors open for ventilation. I even saw an air purifier. So looks like they're doing a lot to keep customers safe these days. Highly recommended.
Good place for decent coffee but their music selection is somewhat terrible... Loud techno is not Scandinavian coziness, I guess. If they play better music, like Todd Terje, I would give 4 star
Friendly staff. They are very careful in the way they prepare their coffee. The avocado toast was so good and the bread seemed freshly baked. The atmosphere cheered me up on a rainy, grey day.
Really unique spot in the city with lots of natural light and extreme attention to detail in design. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Both coffees I ordered were great - the house-made vanilla was delicious!
I absolutely love this place. Their food is amazing.
Good food, but long wait time and very loud inside
I tried the seasonal Jam waffle and I added fruit to it. The first time it was very delicious and sweet, the second time it was sour but still it was good. The thing is that this waffle is very small. I found this place kind of expensive but it has interesting food options
What a Great place to enjoy a cup of coffee!
The amazing barista Anete was very knowledgeable of everything in the store, helped up build the perfect coffee to charge up our adventure!
Not to mentioned a beautiful design and location!!
Coffee was tasty but was .50 cents over the going rate in the area. So it really needs to out preform. I would consider the coffee here to be very good but expensive for a typical daily stop for coffee it would be too much. Nice interior in a quiet location. Did not try the food.
Love the mocha! Nice Scandinavian-inspired decor.
The waffles with fruit and raspberry jam whipped cream were quite special. The raspberry tart was also exceptional, as was the coffees and the service. Thanks for a nice brunch!
Love this cafe! My husband and I go almost every day. The place has a relaxing atmosphere, lots of natural light, nice decor, and good music. The staff is friendly tok. We've tried a few things and everything tastes so good!! So far we've had hot chai, iced chai, salted caramel latte, mocha, cafe kobenhavn, frose, raspberry refresh, avocado toast, goat cheese and jam toast, chicken sandwich, seasonal jam waffle, and chocolate chip cookies. Can't wait to try even more!
Love cafe Hagen! Always great service and friendly staff! I’d highly recommend checking it out !
Very clean environment, many healthy options to choose from! Great for remote work and catch up over brunch. Kind and hospitable staff, food and aesthetics on point. Highly recommend!
This has quickly become my favorite coffee shop in Seattle. The mocha is rich and well balanced, all of the food I have tried is great, and I love the atmosphere. Great place to hang out for a while and take shelter from the rain!
Coffee was delightful!!! Loved my barista eva!!
Amazing food and atmosphere! Seriously loved it!
They might be my new favorite cafe tbh
This place is really expensive. Coffee was great. I got the mocha flight and it was great except they give you such a tiny amount for $$$.
After reading all the great reviews I am a bit upset that my experience was not even close to great. Maybe it has to do with the dine-in closure, not sure. But I truly expected more for the price we paid.
My husband and I got an avocado and salmon toast. I added a soft-boiled egg which, as I was told, is not too runny (I can’t eat uncooked eggs rn).
The salmon toast was good but nothing special, plain toast and salmon on top. But the avocado one not that great, avo mass greyish in places as if it was made the day before. And the egg was super runny unlike I was told.
I visited Café Hagen SLU location today after checking the new Queen Anne location this weekend. I loved the Scandinavian Design and the attention to details. I ordered vanilla oat latte and it was amazing. The barista told me that they do all of their syrups inhouse which was refreshing for sure.
Ordered the espresso and mocha flights. Genius idea!
Great spot with good coffee and pastries. I really enjoy the decoration and ambiance. The only thing that could improve is sometimes the music is a bit loud for my taste.
This is one of our favorite coffee shops in Seattle. The BLTA and the turkey pesto sandwich are hard to beat. For a different experience with coffee try the moka flight.
I had some doubts if this would be yet another cookie-cutter coffee shop in Seattle. I was here today and I was amazed by the experience. I tasted their own roasted Honduran cortado coffee and grilled salmon sandwich. Both were amazing! The staff is quite professional and the attention to detail in the design is perfect. This is a world class gem in the SLU neighborhood.
The pour overs and drip coffee here are great, along with the occasional cookie
Cute little coffee shop that just opened up in the area. The coffee here is amazing and they offer plenty of sweets, even have a few food options. There is outdoor and indoor seating. This is a great place to meet with friends or work remotely during the day. Now with Covid, the space has adjusted quickly to allow people to sit with plenty of space between tables. Staff is wearing masks as well!
We had some friends visiting us from Netherlands and we stop by Cafe Hagen. Super European and very elegant design. Food was delicious, we had avocado toast with soft boiled eggs and my friend had a salmon toast. Coffee was really good, we had espresso flight including the mikava gesha recommended by the barista. Excellent recommendation. My friend had a chai that was also delicious. I will come back again!!!
A little pricey but worth it for the quality coffee and food. Staff is very friendly!
Fairly new restaurant with Danish offerings and 10-3 brunch on weekends. Quite pricy ($25/person for breakfast dish + non-alcoholic drink) given the plate sizes are fairly small. For example: the salmon toast for lunch is one piece of thick bread with spread and smoked salmon. Everything was tasty but the kitchen is still working out some opening pains: they forgot the greens on one sandwich and flat out forgot to serve another plate. Limited space for larger groups with one long bench and high stools, a handful of circular two-tops, and a high bar around the edge of the room.
Cafe Hagen is a very nice well kept establishment with great food/desert. It's not a lot of food/deserts, but it's definitely worth your money. I love the decor and the staff are nice and quick with getting your order out.👍👍👍👍 …
At Cafe Hagen, I love the rich coffee - cortados are my favorite. I usually order whats offered as sandwich offerings, as salads (they are very flexible).
Bright light fills Cafe Hagen every day; its a great space and experience.
Cutest little coffee shop with great service, coffee, and food. We frequent this location just about every weekend due to its relaxed atmosphere and easy going breakfast options.
We went to the opening of this café and we knew at that moment that it was such a special place. Maria who runs the place has such attention to detail for every ingredient, the coffee is amazing, and the environment is so welcoming. And it has great music!
Lovely presentation of Sunday brunch. Delicious and filling.
I had an avocado toast and a cappuccino for lunch, it was excellent ! Very Scandinavian design and attention to details, impressed that they have several authentic danish dishes, mugs, cups, vases, books, and decor. Felt I am back in Copenhagen again ! Will come back for sure !
Our favorite neighborhood coffee shop. Too bed not enough tables...
Coffee was ok, and music was good. But I like peppermint mochas, and was disappointed that they don't carry peppermint syrup
Tea served in a real cup -Thank you! Hang here for good atmosphere, friendly service, decent beats, and authentic style. Can you open in Columbia City?
The food was disappointing. It was about as good as something I'd make at home.
Great coffee. Good atmosphere.
Quite possibly the best Coffee experience in Seattle:
I don't visit Seattle often, but when I do, I try to look for unique and new coffeeshops; ones that I haven't tried and that are a breath of fresh air from all the 'main chains'. I saw that this new coffeeshop had opened up so I decided to pay it a visit.
Well, I can tell you, Cafe Hagen is a Danish breath of very fresh air indeed. Everything seems as if it's carefully and thoroughly thought about. From the location, every item and ingredient on the menu, the interior of the cafe, the atmosphere it creates, to the coffee itself. Cafe Hagen is not a regular coffeeshop, in the age of 'experiences' it definitely cements itself as something more. I left the place with absolute satisfaction.
Like I said, I try to look for unique and new coffeeshops. But next time I'm in Seattle again, I will visit Cafe Hagen again.
Good food, great beverages. If you are coming here to work (aka use wifi) there is a time limit (about two hours), when you reach your limit you are kicked off the wifi for an hour. This limit isn't publicly posted anywhere that I saw. I imagine they do this to keep the internet speed high (poor connection has also been an issue from time-to-time).
Always great. Awesome lattes and great atmosphere. Can get quite busy though
I am so glad they opened this place. The coffee, atmosphere and service are great. I want to mention what I observed so the business can succeed is that people stay there for hours studying/reading with only a cup of coffee. They need to figure out a way to turn over tables so there is space for other customers, as well. Limited WiFi?
Got the lavender lemonade & breakfast bun!!! Best thing ever!
Great food, great coffee, great atmosphere, clean, highly recommended!
Love this Cafe, had their Sparking Rose perfect for a sunny afternoon, their menu is wonderful and always fresh. Coffee is spot on..
Great atmosphere. Polite service. Cozy.
Their brunch special is great for two and their mocha flight was a tasty adventure. Definitely enjoyed and will be back. Their seasonal flavored coffees have been great as well.
Great coffee and even better service! Highly recommend!
Espresso was 10/10. Atmosphere was great but i had places to be. Gorgeous space.
Amazing place. Ambience was lovely but no dine in due to Covid. Still, had the cinnamon bread and overnight oats that were so good.
I love this coffee shop, excellent service and the food it’s AMAZING!
This place was wonderful! The staff was incredibly nice, my latte was amazing, and the pastries were delicious. Highly recommend!
Nice coffee and breakfast coming back for sure !
coffee was delicious and handmade syrups were to die for
We had great hot cocoa (with cafe made marshmallows!) for our Office Christmas Party! Everyone enjoyed it and commented how friendly and nice the Cafe employees were.
Breakfast by far us stellar and definitely worth the trip. Coffee pour ivers best I tasted. I give ut 10 stars
Great spot to get some breakfast and sit in the sun. Had a breakfast sammy and a lavender latte that were both delicious. Highly recommend sitting outside on a sunny morning.
The food, atmosphere, and and customer service is great. This is my 2nd time back to back within the weekend. The food presentation and quality of how the food was prepared and seasoned is truly top quality.
The dirty chai oat milk is great too!!!
Clean and quiet. Delicious Scandinavian influenced food and beautiful, handcrafted beverages.
An amazing coffee experience of contemporary Copenhagen without having to take a 9 hour flight. Treat yourself to this experience if you deserve a break! Great coffee and eats!
Another overpriced coffee shopped in the expensive south lake union area. Warning, they do not have sugar, only syrup. I paid $6 for a non diary latte. It tasted ok but nothing to write home about.
Excellent fare! Everything we ordered was prepared with great care and was delicious!
The food was excellent. While most dishes had cheese, they were very accommodating and helped us find food that we could eat (one of us has a dairy allergy).
Cafe Hagen did a great job catering our team holiday party with hot cocoa and homemade marshmallows! Everything was delicious. Thank you!
Spectacular, super delicious, exquisite bread and coffee
Really good coffee recommend to all my friends
A bit pricey but delicious coffee! We had the lavender latte and salted caramel latte with oatmilk and it was definitely worth the try.
Good food and has a very nice setting as well although definitely pricey. I would really call this a "treat yourself well" experience. You can't really go wrong here.
They have great notice pastries and books! And a cute place to work from. They also have a bunch of coffee options and a coffee flight too
I cannot express how much I love the decor and the drinks here! So great! But the music is way too loud so I can't come and work here, which means I don't get to come here often.Seriously, 5 stars without that!
From the Netherlands (coffee-country), I just visited Seatle and had a coffee here. I must say!: I wish we had this in the Netherlands!!. Great staff, great products! Just wanna say, GREAT!
Friend advised me to go here over a year ago. Ended up going for the first time today. Loved the Director croissant and the mushroom and mozzarella sandwich!
Amazing bakery items, friendly people and beautiful setting.
Probably the hottest cafe in SLU at the moment, if that means anything. Really crowded on weekends. A bit pricey but a hip place with tasty coffee and pastry/foods.
Amazing coffee that never fails to satisfy me. My go-to is an iced vanilla oat milk latte. They make their own vanilla syrup!
This place is amazing! Spro was super good, and the vibe was amazing! Great food options as well!
Amazing food and coffee. A really great brunch spot
The food here seems good, but the menu did not accurately describe the item. I ordered a 3 grain bread and got a bread that also had seeds, one that I am allergic to.
Coffee is absolutely amazing, phenomenal pastries and very friendly staff makes this place a must visit destination - love it!
Beautiful cafe, great decor, the mocha espresso flight was yummy!
my favorite coffee shop in all of washington state! i drive 40+ minutes everyday for their vanilla oat milk latte.
Try the flight (deconstructed mokka) pretty good
Highly recommend this place! Their coffee is phenomenal, they have tasty pastries and food, and I love the Scandinavian atmosphere!
Very good coffee for a cafe that does food as well. Food is a little pricey ($13 for a small chicken sandwich) but it's good enough that I don't mind paying that much for it.
Had a great experience at Cafe Hagen. Friendly staff, great product, delicious lunch. Will definitely go back again soon.
I had a cup of black coffee and a breakfast salmon sandwich on my way to REI. Nice place, modern, very Scandinavian. Will come back with my family again.
The service at this location should be better, but the coffee is great quality and consistent. We also went to Venture and the service there is great.
Mediocre food, bad coffee, decent vibes
One of my favorite cafe nearby with great coffee and brunch!
Coffee is really good! Unfortunately the lady that helped me was a little rude. Not sure if it’s because of the current situation we’re living in. Would still recommend you come try the coffee though 😄 …
Pastries & Coffee are good, outdoor seating, cool tunes for a streetside cafe.
Everything was perfect!
Good vibe and good food
Nice spot, good food, friendly staff. Not sure what makes it "Nordic" but would definitely come back.
Excellent coffee, great breakfast sandwiches. The only place at slu that is open during the Covid and they always delivered a great experience !
Great spot for brunch and coffee. The line up was insane.
Wish they had outdoor patio heaters to fight the cold.
Delicious breakfast sandwiches for a reasonable price. Starts to get busy around 930am on weekends.
A bit pricey but the coffee and the cardamom roll are on point. Love it!
What a great, cozy cafe tucked away in my neighborhood. Just a block a way from delicious coffee and in-house-made food options.
An amazing place to hang out and coffee. The Avacado Toast is a delight to have...
Some of the most rude customer service ever! There is an Asian man there that is so rude they should honestly fire him. He ruined the whole experience. He came up and started yelling at me while I was on the phone with someone.
Delicious waffles!!!! I love them ❤️
One of the best London Fogs I've had in a long time.
Cool Scandinavian vibe, delicious food, tasty coffee, and indoor and patio dining. Yum!
Tasty hot chocolate and coffee cake. Inside was a little warm, but pleasant atmosphere.
Delicious food! First time coming and was pleasantly surprised at how good the food is. Definitely will be coming back!
Great vibe. Quality espresso.
So delicious! Also great customer service, the cashier misheard what I asked for and when the wrong item came out, they replaced it!
Chic ambience and Lavender Latte was nice!
The waffle it's amazing!!!
great coffee and sandwiches. freshly baked pastries taste great too!
Best salmon toast ever! So glad I came across this place, will come back again!
Such a cool new coffee shop. The salmon breakfast sandwich is incredible!
The best place ❤️ Love it
Good coffee. Good food. Environment is dialed-in. A bit over-priced.
Is really Delicious!! My husband loves Butterfly Chicken Sandwich!!
Great vibe and great food
Really cozy cafe with yummy food and decent coffee. A good place to hang out!
The food is really good and the atmosphere is super nice!
Best coffee! The pastries taste good too;)
They leave the doors open and it gets super cold. Not recommended to stay long.
Best chi chai and great breakfast sandwiches. Friendly team to boot.
Loved the vibes, energy and the coffee too!
Great place to start your weekend, nice staff, clean environment and superb drinks and food, nice music pick at SLU.
Very cute place, the food is delicious
The Fog is my new go-to drink, and all the food is fantastic and for the price almost a bargain.
eva stepherson is the goat
Good coffee and sweets. Nice outdoor seating.
Amazing Chai. They make it themselves rather than poring it out of a box like a lot of places do.
Awesome coffee. Open for takeout during covid times.
Expensive. Food is mid.
Super cute place with amazing service, great coffee, and great food!
Great atmosphere, good coffee, good food, decent prices.
Perfect place to hang out on a sunny day
Excellent coffee and friendly staff. Beautiful :)
Cosy place to enjoy a perfectly crafted cup of coffee
Great little place right by Laboratory Lunchbox. Gorgeous interior and exterior!
Beautiful space run by wonderful folx. If you’ve got the opportunity, stop in!
Their granola and yoghurt breakfast dish is wonderful.
Excellent coffee.
Very cute Scandinavian coffee shop with excellent coffee and food.
Great food and coffee and fantastic ambiance.
Great Interior and the latte was perfect. Excellent
Amazing coffee!!!
Best coffee roaster in Seattle
Just okay. Coffee wasn't worth a second cup.
Great staff, great salted caramel latte!
Best pour over coffee in South Lake Union
Very good 🔥🔥🔥🤘 …
A place l happened upon when I needed a quick bite.

Nice ambient!
Good food!!
Daniel here is the best!!!
Great food and great ambiance!
delicious! great vibes, hard to find a table on a sunday afternoon but sooo worth it
This is my friend's favorite cafe and I tried it and I wasn't disappointed for sure. I ordered a matcha latte and it came out to be really good. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere had a nice cafe vibe. There are outdoor sitting as well as inside one. Definitely one of my favorite cafes in Seattle now.
Delicious pastries and excellent service!
Good coffee and atmosphere vibes, but charged me $2 so I could have half and half in my expresso (???) Riiiiiiiight
Very nice
Great cafe!!! (also the white barista with the beard is so nice and hella cute)
Loved the avacado toast, hummus beet sandwich and coffee!
Long wait and hard to find seating but it’s clear why - the food, beverages and ambiance are on point. I will be returning :)
The barista, Daniel, is so friendly and fun to chat with
