Reviews of Ayutthaya Thai Restaurant
Amazing restaurant with authentic Thai that truly moves one's palate and heart. It is a well-known local establishment and has been serving the Capital Hill community for over thirty years. The food is well-sourced and super fresh, which makes a noticeable difference. The staff is very welcoming and attentive, and the bartender is super friendly with remarkable skills and knowledge about various drinks. You should definitely ask him for an improvised cocktail. My favorite is the delightfully inventive "King's Crop-Top."
Great Overall!! A beautiful and clean restaurant, fast and friendly service and delicious food! I felt very welcome, this was my first visit, and I know I will be returning very soon :)
Stumbled upon this place some time ago for delivery (for the crispy garlic chicken) and instantly loved it! Today was the first time I ever ate at the restaurant in-person, and I was so pleased at my experience. The staff here is so friendly and personable, very attentive, and the food always has so much flavor — top tier Thai food in Capitol Hill for sure! Not to mention their selection of drinks has great range. My friends also had such a nice time. Certainly coming back for the peaceful ambiance, excellent service, and super delicious food. Thanks so much!
My favorite restaurant in Seattle; everything is perfect here. No complaints! Portions are reasonable and good for sharing with parties. Come in a group or intimate date, the atmosphere is warm and inviting with great service. Laid back and incredibly charming, calling in advance may be appropriate for getting a table.
Spectacular customer service and the food was superb. That spice though. If you like it spicy you'll love this spot.
The food was awesome. The atmosphere was also great. The staff was so kind and humorous. We ordered Som tam, Tom yum soup and Green curry to be most hot and they met our expectations. I love here!
A bit slow but the food was tasty. Nice ambiance.
Loved the food. The red curry was creamy and delicious, and perfectly spicy at a level 3 of heat. Husband loved his beef and cashew dish. The portions were fantastic, too. We will definitely be back!
Ordered a take out of Phad kee mao. I have reviewed my fair share of this dish from many Thai restaurants. This is one of the good one that I have tasted. Noodles are fried with enough heat to have the “breath of the wok” taste. Tofu is cut into bite size and fried to crunchy. The sauce used to fry the noodles is well prepared. Overall, good job and I enjoyed it.
Clean well decorated restaurant at one of Cap Hill's corner. Prices are very reasonable and each plate is enough to share. The flat noodles in our dish were cokked just right, they had great consistency and taste. Curry was very tasty too, with plenty of rice to go with it. Pay attention to the specials hanging on the walls as they are good deals. The chillis in the condiment trays are a good touch. Altogether the food was a little salty, but that's just my taste. Also I must add that the bathrooms were very clean which is a great sign of overall quality, plus the service was fantastic.
Great atmosphere and staff. Quiet, welcoming, with dim lighting perfect for a romantic date. Staff is quick with a welcoming attitude.
Ordered fresh shrimp rolls and pad see ewe. The rolls have lettuce, bean sprouts, and shrimp. Comes with a sweet chilli sauce and a peanut sauce. The peanut sauce tastes like it had coconut milk/cream which is bomb.
Pad See Ewe was good. Sweet but not too sweet. Balance of all the ingredients so you don't get too much or too little of anything. Quality and quantity matches the price point.
Great little Thai food restaurant that serves Americanized Thai classics in a down to earth setting. While the food is geared towards western tastes, they do it very well here. Prices are reasonable, especially for the area and this makes a good place to casually get dinner with a couple of friends. Spice levels are a little low, so if you generally like it on the higher level of the spectrum, make sure to step it higher.
My favorite Thai restaurant on the hill. The portions are great and the price is excellent for the area. It does get busy so during lunch and dinner there may be a wait. Plan ahead and definitely get the crispygarlic chicken. But everything on their menu is spectacular
Ordered Pad Khee Mao, with spice level 4/5. Excellent taste and enough quantity for 2. Visiting this place again for sure.
Thai special Curry is off the dammed CHAIN!!! Good God this is the best Thai food I've ever had... Also, special consideration is the Pad khee mao. This place killin' it!!!!
great atmosphere, large portions & amazing service. one of my favourite restaurants ever!
I went there for dinner and had the delicious crab fried rice. The dish was very flavourful and the staff did their job well. I like the understated nature of this spot. Definitely neither fine dining, nor very vibrant, but I know I can have a nice dinner, maybe before going out for the night.
There's a reason this place has been open so long. The service was great, people were so nice and the food had SO MUCH flavor! 10/10 recommend. We got a curry and a noodle dish and the veggies were crisp and fresh too.
Best crab rangoon of my life! The coconut shrimp is amazing, too. Will be coming back here for sure.
Ordered spicy basil fried rice with chicken. Asked for no mushrooms and swap that with broccoli. Instead I got no chicken, mushrooms, and broccoli.
I’ve dined here for as long as they have been open. My entire life. I love their food. I take a star off because it is listed as $12 for entrees on their online menu and you have to add +$2 for a meat or veggie option at the minimum. That means everything should be $15 listed and +$0 or more for an entree. Seems like an easy fix.
Picked up an order from Ayutthaya in my one-year mission to try out all the restaurants within a 15 minute walk of my new apartment. Will now be hitting it regularly. We did three different noodle dishes and a fried rice, all of which were excellent, even after traveling in my backpack. What really stood out was the calamari: fresh, not chewy, light, flavorful and crispy. Order was perfect and done on time. Next time we will probably dine in, the place is very cozy and the staff friendly.
We ordered the panang curry and pad thai togo. The food was good, but we found a piece of hair in the curry!
Nice atmosphere, excellent food, wonderful service, nice ambience and no line to get in! I was amazed as we went there for Mother's Day dinner and most places were crowded I couldn't believe that a place that good did not have a line to get in! I would highly recommend it!
Came with at five for meet up dinner. Empty/ could sit anywhere. Had the tamarind chicken. Large portion. Server white frat boy vibe. Food good. Food not as spicy as expected. Overall a bit more pricy but hey it a cap hill. Not impressed but not disappointed. Forgot to take photo. Wouldn’t mind eating again. 8/10
The Pad knee mao was very good, fast and convenient takeout. Would return!
My friends and I ate dinner here and it was delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant, the server was so great, the portions were good. I really like it when you can choose how spicy your food is. I got my Vegetarian Pad Thai not spicy, and my friend got her meal spicy and they offer an "Asian spicy" option, which is really really spicy I guess! I am glad we could choose how spicy we wanted our meal. I would definitely eat here again!
This place is fantastic! The food and cleverly original cocktails are fantastic! Also the staff are kind and welcoming.
I am forgetful and left my bag hanging on the chair. I hadn't even realized I left it, until I was about a block away and noticed Chris the bartender/server / waiter / host literally running full speed towards with me with it. "you forgot this!" What a guy! We will definitely be back, and we will recommend this place to anyone! So awesome. Thanks so much!
This has been and continues to be one of my local go-to places in Capitol Hill for Thai food. Great service, delicious food, nice atmosphere, and reasonable prices. If I'm indecisive, I get the Pineapple Fried Rice (a meal in itself) with Thai Iced Tea. Another favorite of mine is the Chicken Mussamun with Mango Sticky Rice for dessert.
Great service. The food came out really fast and was delicious. I ordered the noodle delight
So good I forgot to take a pic before eating 🤪 …
Everything I got here was delicious! Pad see ew, eggplant basil, and the Thai iced tea was one of my favorites that I've had. A lot less sweet than normal and it was delicious. The service is excellent. You can order takeout online through their website and pick up and pay in person which is very convenient and helps you avoid those delivery services which charge a ton to the restaurant and customer.
I ordered the chicken Pad Thai for takeout and it was rather bland. The noodles were all solidified into a single clump and the egg sort of spread over the top. Not exactly bad, but nothing special.
Absolutely delicious! I was impressed with the food quality and quantity. I was in the search of finding a good thai restaurant and this ends my search. The food is too good! I wanted a bit spicy and the level of spice added was just perfect. Nicely cooked and came hot and ready to eat. Ordered through grubhub and order arrived in about 40mins. Needless to say, I am going to order again soon.
Came here after a few hours at Rockbox. Service was fantastic, and the food was exactly what we were in the mood for. Even our friend who is gluten free and vegan had an excellent meal.
Everyone, in fact, enjoyed their meals. I had the crispy garlic chicken, and it was just the right amount of spice with plenty of broccoli on the side. Super tasty, and filling!
Got takeout and the food had flavour but it wasn't great.
Great Thai joint in the heart of Capitol Hill. Great food and service.
Probably deserves more than a three star rating but I didn't care for the peanut sauce glopped generously all over my perfectly decent plate of food. There just wasn't anything subtle about it and I've never had it that way before. Next time I will make sure I ask them to leave it off.
We had lunch there today. First they give you a bowl of soup. It was cabbage with a tiny bit of ground chicken in it. Very simple and tasty. I had the "Noodle Delight" with beef. This is a wide rice noodle dish. Would have really enjoyed it with some basil and oyster sauce or chili sauce. Wife had Pud Cashew with chicken. Came with steamed rice. It was quite nice.
We will eat there again.
Any drink to go. I get my Phad Thai here. Street parking. Has somewhat of a romantic atmosphere. Staff remain positive, no snarky remarks or attitude.
This Thai place has a great staff, they are always super friendly. Their prices are reasonable considering they are in Cap Hill. They have some good dishes, and the portions are more than average which is nice. They are next to the QFC on the hill, which has a good amount of parking around it.
5 star prices and service (fast and friendly- checked on us the perfect amount of times, water glass always filled but non intrusive) but 3 star food. There are so many amazing options in Seattle.. This would receive a higher food rating from me in a city where there weren't fantastic, also affordable, authentic options. Price was awesome though, under $30 for two with Thai iced tea.
Yeah this place was really good. I got Panang Curry with tofu, all the way spicy. The tofu was wonderfully crispy and the side level had a good kick without being overbearing. I've eaten lots of Thai and this quicky ranked among the best I've had. I will return soon
Prices are okay (on-line with Seattle/Cap Hill average). I would just opt for pick up since they're in the neighborhood. Stay cautious with the spice levels for everything on the menu, I'd recommend going for level-3 as the maximum spice level. Otherwise they go overboard and make it extremely hot.
Delicious Thai food! I had the tamarind chicken. Can't wait to eat there again!
It's taken me 4 years to try this place, but it's my new favorite Thai restaurant. Their squash and corn fries are amaaaazing. Their pineapple fried rice is legit, and their pumpkin curry (when they have it) is fantastic. Their tea is pretty bitter, but you can ask for honey.
The ayuthaya noodles, which I randomly experimented with once, has now become one of my goto meals. Subtle flavors. Tastes simply amazing! Have also liked the other dishes I have tried here so far.
Food was great! We had the Pad Thai that was wrapped in a egg, thought that was unique and it tasted amazing! Service was good too, no complaints.
I have enjoyed their Massaman curry (with chicken) and pineapple fried rice (with beef) several times. They are delicious-- the curry seems to be on the thicker side in comparison to most Thai places I've been to, but in a good way. It's very rich and I liked it a lot. The pineapple fried rice was delicious as well. Standard thai iced tea and pretty good, thick and crispy fried wontons served with thick chili sauce. I'll definitely be back to try more on their menu.
Food is great! I ordered the Phad Thai, Thai Iced Tea, Crab Delight and Rice Pudding. Everything was spot on and flavors were outstanding. I ordered from Grubhub and my food was ready for pick up after 10 mins of ordering. Definitely would order here again.
Careful food comes out hot & retains heat well throughout the meal! Nice and spicy pad see ew, & pad kra pow. Yummy and simple fried tofu too.
Awesome Green Curry! Best I've had since living in Thailand! Highly recommend... Like it so much, I'm reviewing it right now as I eat! Staff very courteous.
Easy to get to location in Capitol Hill. The service was friendly and fast. The food was hot, delicious and spicy!
We ordered the Pineapple fried rice at a spice level of 3, Pad Thai at spice level of 3, Coconut chicken at spice level of 2. The fried rice was the spiciest dish and the coconut chicken didn't have hardly any spice. The pad thai was very citrus-y and refreshing, unlike any other pad thai we ever had before.
The signature cocktails are great! We had Twisted Thai Tea, Ginger Grass & Lemongrass Gimlet. All perfect!
The chairs & tables are very solid wood. Heavy to scoot up to the table in and not overly padded. My butt was ready to leave right after dinner. With the small dinning area this is a good idea to keep the tables turning over.
Fantastic. Loved the ginger sea bass, pineapple fried rice, and the crab appetizer. Spice level of 3 was comfortable, will bump to 4 next time.
LOVE the food. The staff are also really friendly
Had high hopes for this place based on the delivery reviews but man this was a disappointment. Got the pad kee mao and all I could taste was garlic. Must've used an entire head of garlic. For all I know this tasted great or horrible but I wouldn't know.
Other than that, portion size is fine, pricing is above average. I'd give it another chance if they toned down their recipe.
I really hoped this place would be amazing, but it was very forgettable. I asked for my dish to be very spicy and it was the blandest Thai meal I've ever had. No heat, soggy, and uninventive. The service on the other hand was fantastic, and the prices reasonable, but I'm afraid I won't go back. Plenty of other great restaurants in Seattle to visit instead.
Extremely good food and service - Bathing Rama was really good and so was the Crispy Roti and Curry Trio! Would def recommend the Yellow Curry Fried Rice
This is an excellent thai restaurant that is centrally located. It has limited seating so large groups and walk-ins should be aware of that. Of all the food we were served nothing came out sub par. It was delicious, looked very appetizing and was perfect serving sizes. Everything is served pretty regularly but their pad thai is a bit different. That's the only disappointing thing that I can think of. A must go!
One of my favorites. Fun cocktails and great beers in tap—my husband and I will often pop in and sit at the bar.
The Crab Delight is the best I’ve had anywhere—a lot of places it’s just cream cheese filled wontons with a tiny bit of crab. Ayutthaya’s has real detectable crab in it, plus they’re sizable, crunchy, and tasty.
Food/service has always been quick and good. The Ayutthaya Noodles are garlicky and delicious. I’ve also enjoyed the Pad Thai, Pad See Ewe (sp?), and the Pineapple Fried Rice.
Highly recommended!
One of my favorite Thai food restaurants in Seattle. They have one of the tastiest Pad See Ew's I have ever had. The Thai coconut soup is A MUST when ordering, it's best with prawns...
I came here on suggestion of a friend. Was a little put off at first at how empty the restaurant was on a weekend, but once the appetizers arrived, I understood what a hidden gem this place is. Cheap, delicious, fresh Thai food in a relaxed atmosphere. Great for solo eaters or big groups.
Best Thai food in Cap Hill. Great service and staff.
Just OK. Service was odd, sort of like we were not there intermittedly. Food was OK. Atmosphere is like you are in someone's house with a lot of unnecessary clutter. There are plenty of Thai restaurants to choose from.
Amazing food and beverages! If you have a chance speak to the main bartender on his methods for creating signature cocktails. He really spends time and demonstrates his passion for flavor and quality.
I hate tofu but this place had good tofu. The vegetarian food it very good.
Level 2 spice was too spicy for me so be careful!
Ordered the Yellow Curry Fried Rice and a Red curry chicken with jasmine rice. Amazing food. Very flavorful and fresh!!
The pineapple fried rice and coconut curry chicken are standout and keep me coming back. Certain traditional dishes like the Pad Thai were underwhelming though
I'm never disappointed! I love dining in the restaurant though their delivered food is just as tasty. The staff is very attentive without being pushy. I highly recommend this place.
Excellent relaxed Thai restaurant close to Broadway. I hark back to the early 2000s when it was super cheap and cheerful, but the locality has moved upmarket and Ayutthaya has responded accordingly. This is my go-to comfort food restaurant in Seattle, with or without kids, to eat in or take home food after a long flight.
Decent Thai food with some fun seasonal offerings. I had the pumpkin curry. My friend got the garlic chicken which was amazing. I recommend that!
The service is friendly and attentive. The food quality is good and I'd like to explore the menu more. Lunch specials are well priced and two people can eat for under $30.
This place served me the best Pad Thai I have ever had. If I lived in Seattle I would be here all the time.
The house curry is amazing! But yellow curry and red curry kind of taste the same. Pineapple fried rice was average.
Service was good.
Hung out at the bar and drank a beer while I waited for my to go order. Bartender was great, people at the bar were great, all around a pleasant experience. Food came out pretty fast and was absolutely delicious.
excellent as always. I'm a cocktail nerd and watching The resident booze diety create a mojito inspired me to request a lemon drop, and i was not disappointed. not syrupy, but a great balance of the tart, oily, sweet, and burny flavors that lemons, sugar, and vodka have on offer. food is 7/10 but if you have a spice tolerance go up a star.
This is a nice spot located in the heart of Capitol hill. I absolutely love their panang curry. They've got a good cocktail selection and their staff is wonderful.
Typical 'tourist' Thai food. Nothing special.
This is my go to Thai food place. The Pad Thai is to die for here! I have eaten authentic Thai food and this is very authentic. It's delicious! The staff is super nice and it really has an authentic feel.
Comfortable atmosphere w classic Thai Food. Reasonable prices & very tasty food. Service was excellent. Fast & friendly.
It's not often that I take a bite of food and feel sheer delight, but that was my experience here. This is likely the best Thai food I have ever had.
Great food choices for both vegetarians and non - vegetarians. Loved the peanut sauce dish & hot sake. I'd definitely go back!
Amazing. Server was friendly, funny, and helpful. Peanut sauce was excellent and the pad thai was phenominal. The best pad thai I've ever had.
I've been to a bunch of Thai restaurants and I can confidently say they make great food here. I just think that there are other options that have a better food for the same price.
Great food, quick service. Open till late hours. Quite knowledgeable and open about vegan options.
Excellent Pad Thai. Chang beer. Laab and sticky rice so good it transports your taste buds to Thailand. Fun and friendly staff!
Absolutely great food and excellent service. The entire team treated us like part of their family! It is a family owned and operated and it feels that way!
We order food from here almost every week. The pineapple fried rice with Chinese sausage is our favorite.
Tom Yum soup here will cure any illness. I share this place with friends every time I'm in Seattle.
I remember waiting quite a while for waiting list drinks on my first visit but the food was enough to bring me back. And still is.
This is hands down the best Thai food I’ve had in Seattle. I was blown away! Eat here!! We had pad Thai and red curry and WOW!!!
Best Thai food in Seattle..awesome bar. Great service too! Favorite dish is Green Curry Chicken 4 star!
Tasty genuine and spicy
10% discount if you pay cash!
The food is also awesome and reasonably priced. I got some very good Pad Thai
Friendly staff, fast service, and good selection. They allow substitutions and overall the food was good. I wood have preferred spicier.
The food was great and the service was spectacular. It's a small place, but that created an intimate atmosphere that I loved!
Great staff and food with a nice ambience. Their drunken noodles tasted so amazing, definitely a Thai place worth visiting!
God food and decent ambience..the menu is not adjustable for vegetarians (vegetarians and vegans have the same options), the sauces are all non vegetarian, and unless you ask, it is hard to know.
Small space with a good menu including unique cocktails and well crafted curries. I enjoy eating here.
Excellent food and cozy atmosphere. Spice level on par for a Thai restaurant.
One of the first and best Thai restaurants in Seattle.
Great food, friendly service, good prices... all around great little spot.
Good food, really, but the staff isn’t the most personable.
Edit: Actually, I take that back, they’ve been really good lately.
Fantastic neighborhood restaurant great phad thai, and deep fried catfish in curry. The servers are great tip them well.
My first experience eating Thai food and it was a great experience. Great service and awesome happy hour selection and prices
You can eat cheap here but you'd be missing out on their really great dishes. Go here and splurge with a few friends. It's all very delicious!
My pad thai was a little different than what I usually get at other Thai restaurants, but it was still good.
This was so delicious, by far the best meal I've had in a long while. Would especially recommend trying the cod if they have it as a special.
Amazing Thai food! So glad to have stumbled upon it. Will definitely dine here again.
Best Thai food I have ever had. Everything was exceptional.
Personable staff. Great food. Reasonable pricing. And I have a new favorite soup
Tom yum soup and crab fried rice were awesome. Also the mango prawn was really yummy
My partner and I enjoyed happy hour here. Reasonble prices, great service and a delicious, well-rounded food selection.
Flavorful Thai food and quick service after having tried a few different items on the menu (Kang Dang, Kang Panang, Special Thai curry and Yellow Curry fried rice)
Perfect pad thai. And very friendly and professional service. I'd love to eat here again!
Best Thai food in Seattle . My fav for years! Make sure to stop in every time I’m in town (at Least once)!!😋 …
Best Thai restaurant in seattle . ❤️
Nice, rich, and flavorful curry with some really solid pad Thai!
Delicious food, I even came here twice during my stay in Seattle! Service was a bit slow though.
Consistently good Thai food. The soups are especially good. Well worth a try if you like Thai food.
Great food, fairly quiet, good service. Strongly recommend if you're in the area
One of my favorite Thai places on the hill. Such delicious food!
Good Thai food, pretty quick service for to go. Friendly bartenders when I'm just waiting for my food.
Pretty good good but it’s kinda overpriced...servers are really odd ...like just strange, dont really know how else to explain it but it wasn’t too intolerable.
Get the curry appetizer.. its amazing.. great fresh rolls, pad se ewh and pad thai
Delicious food, hands down the best Thai food I've ever had 😍 …
Good food and service.
Friendly quick-service. And I appreciate a Thai restaurant that can provide zero spicy heat when zero is requested.
Freshness and flavors are outstanding. Worth the stop.
I ordered Ayutthaya Noodle. It tasted pretty quite authentic. The service was also excellent.
My Capitol Hill favorite for Thai. Great flavors, not saturated with grease, and good service.
Had gone here with friends, amazing thai food for vegetarians as well. Will be visiting again.
Had the delicious Pad Thai. Friendly and quaint atmosphere. A local favorite.
It was very yummy, food portions are a good size and waiter was very attentive.
Incredible Thai place. I’ve had Thai in Sydney, New York, Tokyo, Brisbane, Melbourne but this is by far the best I’ve ever had.
spicy basil fried rice
Roasted duck curry and coconut chicken. Pretty good. Very friendly staff.
Great flavor Thai food with a Cozy atmosphere and fair pricing.
Love this place! I always enjoy the food and get good service every time I've been.
Great service and cozy atmosphere with yummy healthy food. Never disappointed
Amazing Everything! Highly recommend this over any Thai spot I've been to in all Seattle so far!!!
Excellent Thai Restaurant. Really authentic food and affordable prices.
I ordered a draft beer which was warm and flat, and it took almost 20 minutes to arrive.
Lunch was good. Not a ton of selection. But what they had was excellent.
The house noodles left something to be desired, but every other experience here has been superb.
A little pricey, but considering other prices in the neighborhood and the tastiness of the food - totally worth it.
Great southern Thai food. If you are looking for bomb phad Thai and swimming Rama, look no further
Good food, fair price. Quiet place for a meal and a conversation.
Their food was really good and they were open on 31st December :)
I haven't been here for many years. The quality of the food is still excellent!
Very tasty, lots of options. And if you ask for spicy food, this is what you get.
I like this restaurant but the price that they charge for curry should include rice
Local Thai restaurants with regular customers. Food is not exceptional but ok for a casual dinner.
I'm addicted to the pad thai with tofu.
Awesome food. Do try the twisted Thai tea.
We love the food and love to see Joe. We go about two times a month:-)
Good food. Great happy hour. Will come again
A very nice little place with great food and friendly staff. I’ll be going back.
Good food, very comfortable chairs. Fast friendly service
I liked this food! I'm not sure what is that sauce that they add but like it!
Excellent authentic food, quick service and great vibe.

good thai food
Delicious!
Delicious!
Consistently balanced flavours even after it's been a while since I've visited! The Phad Thai with tofu was very flavorful and perfect portion
The best green curry I've ever had, and I've continued to look! They don't do happy hour anymore, but the food is worth paying full price. The garlic green beans are my favorite appetizer, and the chicken satay is a close second.
It'd be nice if they picked up their messages so that I could actually make a takeout order without having to go through some gouging delivery service
Sehr gutes Restaurant. Das Essen hat absolut hervorragend geschmeckt. Alles frisch zubereitet. Sehr freundliche und schnelle Bedienung. Sehr saubere Toiletten. Absolut empfehlenswert.
friendly service,
I didn't choose the best dishes today.....
It's great, the food takes a while. But it is delicious!!!
