Reviews of A+ Hong Kong Kitchen
The Shanghai Style Vermicelli was excellent and had a good mixture meat and veggies in a mild curry seasoning. The Rice with Fried Pork and Egg Sauce was very rich and flavourful, but just not meant for me; the unfamiliar texture might not agree with typical western tastes. I would gladly eat here again and try something else from the menu or have more of that vermicelli dish.
The service was relatively quick and positive. The size of the dishes is ample, so 2 dishes for two people was more than adequate.
It's my first time in Seattle and I decided to visit an HK cafe to see what it's like here. Honestly, my expectations were blown away by the authenticity of the food! Portions were quite big and the pricing is great as well! I'd love to come here again 😁
If you have been to HK style cafe in China you will know that this place exactly taste like what you have in China. Yum yum!
It’s cheap place that you can quickly order lunch or dinner with delicious food, and authentic! I miss a lot these food so I order them all😮💨
The food is prepared pretty quickly and it's a casual eatery. Pretty cheap and the quality is about what you would expect from a simple Hong Kong diner experience. I enjoyed it enough but wouldn't go out of my way to find parking to just eat here.
I have been to many Chinese restaurants, but this one offers me one of the cheapest and most delicious Chinese cuisines ever. Sometimes, the restaurant fills up very quickly at weekends or in the late afternoon of weekdays. The staff is friendly and attentive, by sometimes they forget my orders. However, I still recommend this restaurant to every one
This place is bomb. But you already know that. Just look at the last names of the other 5 star reviews.
I'm here to rave about their malatang. The soup dish was like 14 bucks but was an entire hotpot experience in a bowl. Soup/lamb cravings entirely satiated. The portion is LARGE, with generous amounts of lamb.
Good food, enough to fill the stomach while your bank account stays intact: that's how Chinese crusine should be.
Good selection of authentic common Hongkong food. If you don’t mind the tight small space and are tired of heavily greasy food, come check it out and sip some noodle soup! 😆 It is quite busy, but wait time is not bad. …
Love this place!!
I love the fervor of this place when you walk in. Everyone is speaking in cantonese and it just feels really homey.
The wonton soup was A+ and the clay stone rice dishes were A+ as well.
Food comes out right away and service was prompt.
They don't have the Hong Kong Toast on the menu and it's just regular toast, which I was caught surprised by.
It seems like there is another A+ Hong Kong Restaurant across the street (closer to Tai Tung) and it's a bigger version of this restaurant (A+ Hong Kong Kitchen). Their menu is bigger as well and the prices are a little bit different. I think I prefer the "Restaurant" version better, but I definitely don't mind coming back here to the original A+ Hong Kong for some homey cantonese dishes.
Pretty authentic place for Hong Kong claypot rice and baked pork chop rice. The baked pork chop rice was served first (server asked for our preference) which made waiting for the claypot rice that came 20mins later more bearable. and the claypot rice was totally worth the wait with a thick meat patty and well seasoned salted fish on the top. The pork chop rice came on top of slightly seasoned fried rice with mixed veg (the usual of pea, carrot, corn) Mix in the tomato sauce and everything tasted great! will be back to try other menu items
We want to eat HK tea restaurant style food and we saw the review photos with menu that seems to be the right place for our cravings so we went at lunch time. The restaurant staff are so very nice. Greet us promptly, bring the menu and provide hot tea right away. The restaurant is tiny but able to sit about 9 tables. We ordered the HK style milk tea, the red and white sauce pork chop, beef rice, and the spicy soup with clear noodle. Hubby asked for mild level of spice and it was not spicy at all. The spicy numbing noodle was only with spicy sauce without base broth so it tastes like instant noodle pack. The HK milk tea is okay. The white and red sauce doesn't taste special either. I can taste the red sauce with ketchup in it. Both dishes are too salty for us too. I think it is more like a home made cooking than restaurant level.
It's just too bad that there is no fantastic authentic HK tea house around Seattle area. Other used to be good HK tea restaurants are closed out and replaced by Sichuan cousine.
Hidden gem, if you like Hong Kong style food. Will go back. No regrets. Friendly staff.
Probably my favorite restaurant in the ID. Best for smaller groups, but the food is SO good. (Get the XO rice cakes. *drool*)
We were there about 4PM, there were a couple of people dine in. We ordered clay pot rice with sausage and pork, Sichuanese style Lo mein and stir fried cabbage, simple with good flavor.
Feels authentic, great selection and variety, has that mom and pop feel, very simple decor, put all their effort in the food , but parking is tough to get and expensive and yes it is cantonese cuisine
Delicious bowl of piping hot brisket noodle soup today with extra bok choy. All while watching the world cup on big screen TV. Very nice people too.
Good food at optimal price. Baked pork chop w/ rice is tasty
Some of the best Chinese food I had. Veg fried rice was good. Rice rolls in XO sauce was awesome.
Personally I've always liked the Hong Kong style clay pot rice with ribs and sausages, and the curry fish ball appetizer is very flavorful and chewy. I recommend trying their new dessert 菠萝油, it has impressed me how the chef controlled so well on the temperature of butter and bread.
Fantastic authentic experience. Service was great, everything we had was amazing, flavorful and extremely reminiscent of meals we've had in Beijing, Zhangzhou, etc... Not even sure of what we had, other than curry brisket rice (which was so good). We asked server to just bring us other dishes, and each one was on point.
We love the FRENCH TOAST with peanut butter. Their rice rolls with XO sauce. And all the drinks. This is a great Hong Kong style restaurant with a lot of fun dishes and dessert. The service is always great too.
The wait list is usually long so you should come early or not in busy hours, foods are excellent, I'm from Canton China and I approve the food authenticity of this place. Service is slow so expect waiting. Cell signal is very bad here so no watching videos or social media unfortunately.
This little gem offers is quite surprising. The quantities are HUGE for the price, and the menu is big. The quality and speed the food came out was great. The wait to get seated can lengthy but it's very well worth it. They do an excellent job at hk style food (baked spaghetti!!!!) and I highly recommend checking out their mango sago drink. Quite the discovery for this little place and I definitely recommend it!
Got beef chow funn, fried rice rolls in xo sauce, curry fish balls, and mango smoothie with coconut milk and sago. Everything was delicious and served quickly and had generous portion size!
Ya almost feel like you're in Canton. Feeling adventurous? Try the salted lemon honey drink (with ice!!). The only drawback to that were the unstrained seed that would get sucked up in the non-biodegradable straw (hey, this is the Northwest after all).
First Full Star Review Ever!
After all these years of HongKong Dramas I finally got to try some of their very advertised modern HongKong food. The food was savorily delicious accompanied by a wonderful atmosphere. #煲仔饭和麻辣烫。Hopefully can come back tomorrow!
Great, fast service. Extra large menu of many classic Cantonese favorites. Delicious Portuguese Style Baked Dishes. Tasty Toast with PB & Condensed Milk. Too many desserts to choose from because you want all of them!
Great food, nice staff. Large portions, no msg added. Very much cantonese styles!
Delicious Hong Kong style eatery. They have noodle soup and dumplings. The food was very tasty, and different as many of the flavors are not typical in Western foods. I would come back for sure. Only downside here is that it is so popular there is always a line out the door. Staff is friendly and efficient as well.
Gotta support this place! It's always busy!
Food here is simple but delicious with a pretty decent sized menu selection.
Staff is courteous.
Street parking or walking only - it's next to Bank of America, or across from Hing Hay Park.
Really the only downside here is the small size of the place which leads to the sometimes ridiculous waiting times during busy lunch and dinner hours. Be prepared to put your name down and wait.
Other than that its worth trying!
A bit of a wait but fine service and great timing. Affordable prices and great taste. Had the curry beef noodle, sea food non-spicy mala tang, seafood cheese rice and pork chop with rice.
Yummy dishes! Group of 4 ordered multiple dishes and every thing was good. The wait can be very long on weekend. Street parking only.
I went back a couple of times because the food is good. I really liked their curry rice!
Don’t expect the server to be nice or smiley to you.
I always wanted to try their mango smoothie but was never in the area. Finally I got to try it and I was impressed. It looked good but it even tasted better! The coconut is subtle but compliments the mango smoothie so well. Not too sweet nor sour. A couple of mango pieces in there and was great! The sago was great! What a unique drink! I will be coming here more often now!
the seating area is compact but everyone is there for the food and there was a bit of a wait. pictured is the lamb mala tang and the curried brisket in stone pot. SO GOOD! i ate too much, but I didn't hate myself for it. we also got cabbage and pork dumplings which we ate too ravenously to photograph. also not depicted was the tofu pudding in ginger syrup... which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. I don't particularly like tofu so I don't know what I was expecting but it was a good vessel for the ginger syrup. the brisket was so tender! /_____\
TLDR: Went to this place with my two friends. The dishes we got usually range around 8-10 dollars. I got Beef Brisket Rice and they gave me a lot of rice. I like the atmosphere. Its a good place for a date or small groups of 2-3. A bit small, so dont bring groups bigger than 6. Not much vegetarian/vegan options. Place is pretty clean.

Detailed Review:
Based off of Service, Food, Cleanliness, and Ambience
Food is rated from 4 levels (Unacceptable (0 stars), Not Good (.5) , Good (1.5), Great (2))
FOOD (Fair/Good: 1.5 out of 2 stars)
-The dishes arent too salty.
-Good big portions. Felt full after(for at least rice dishes).
-Prawn curry isnt as great. Better with meat
-Braised Brisket Rice (found under Rice/Spaghetti) was good. Beef wasnt tough and hard to chew.
-For the price and what I got. Its good food and I'd come back again
ATMOSPHERE (Good/Fair: .75 out of 1 star)
-I like the yellow walls. Its gives a more positive vibe to the place. The restaurant seems much more modern than other ones in Chinatown.
-A bit tight and cozy. If its full and there is like 7-10 people waiting for seats. You definitely have to wait outside (not that I mind really)
SERVICE (Good/Fair: .75 out of 1 stars)
-Weren't persistent on asking if we are ready to order
-Polite
-Felt more like sit down, take order, eat, then get bill.
--They weren't asking like if we needed anything else or checking us on how our food is. The service was good nonetheless)
CLEANLINESS (Great: 1 out of 1 stars)
-In addition to a cozy atmosohere. Its very clean
-Made sure that our tables were clean and ready prior to sitting down
-No noticeable issues
Score: 4 stars
Cheap Hong Kong cafe style food; kinda dingy, but what do you expect? Super fast service and you definitely get enough to have leftovers for a second meal. Food always tastes good, though I found a hair once...
A friend of mine recommended this place and I'm recommending it to you! Wow, I ordered the mala veggie soup with glass noodle. I think I struggled to finish half way through, but the atmosphere was laid back and peaceful so I stayed for about an hour and a half. Perfect place for those with intolerances like myself and my friend!
It's a very authentic Canto style cuisine you feel like you're in Hong Kong when you eat there with the smells and sights and the Cantonese that's widely spoken there. There is a ton of different food that you can order here and it's at a great great price
Extremely busy. Put your name down on the sign in sheet with your number of guests just in case. Prepare to wait.
Once in and given a table, prepare to wait some more. You will be seen, but you might be ignored.
However, these are some of the best food ever. Good soup broths, good noodle soups, excellent rice dishes, even the cold drinks are tasty.
Worth the stop.
I haven’t been to this place for so many times that I can’t count. This time I tried the pork hook and it’s super tasty!
The dishes were delicious and very reasonably priced. We ordered chicken with Chinese mushroom rice casserole, spicy seafood casserole, and beef chow fun. We look forward to return.
Brought a few people here already and each time we've come back, we have tried something new and each time we grow to enjoy this place even more. The pork chop in tomatoes sauce along with their amazing fried rice. Ooooo boy!!! U need to try it out. Not to mention the curry in hot pot n ox tails.
the service was decent and the place was clean, and the food tasted good, but the food didn't have a very strong flavor. the rice noodle rolls could've used more sauce, and the sweet and sour shrimp tasted good, but the sauce didn't have the punch that i was looking forward to.
I love this place. It’s exactly what I need for nostalgic Hong Kong comfort food. Ever since a & b cafe closed, this is my replacement. XO sauce radish cake and xo sauce rice rolls... oooooo soooo good.
Amazing food! Very impressed with the food quality. The stafe was nice. We would go back if lived in Seattle
I was there the first time last night with my friend and ordered the chicken rice porridge, fish Malay soup, red bean w tofu & purple sticky rice w coconut milk for desserts. The entire meal was not extraordinary. Except for the rice porridge, the price is around $8 which is fair for the large amount of food. The workers look tired but attentive.
A place for a quick bite for Cantonese style food. Beef brisket noodle bowl and pork & chive pan fried dumplings in the Chinatown/International Village. Reasonable price $!
Summary: Affordable,salty, worms
- got this as a To-go from Uber eats
- the purple rice with coconut was great with a mild sweet taste.
- the fish balls were great, quite soft.
- the chicken curry was salty but tasted well. I found a worm in the chicken curry at which point I stopped eating. While some people like the idea of sustainable protein,I have deducted two stars from the review for finding things which are not mentioned in the ingredients.
If they can clean up their kitchen they might live up to the name, otherwise it's probably just a D-(irty) kitchen.
The food here is incredible. The rice rolls with XO sauce were the highlight of the meal.
Food was above average, meets expectation for HK style Cafe foods. Prices are reasonable for Seattle. If only the wait staff would say thank you and smile...
Tasty food, reasonable prices, and good service.
There are a few tables resting below bright lights. So if you're sitting at one of these tables, you'll get some nice lighting for your food pics but also it's a constant reminder how bright lightbulbs can get. Slightly annoying. Other than that, there is a decent number of tables for dining in.
What's nice is you can use tap to pay for your bill even when you dine in. They have one of those portable toast devices so you can pay with your phone. That also means you don't have to wait for them to return the check to you so you can sign it. All done in one go.
This place has a very extensive menu and is often crowded. However, i guess i don't really care for this type of cuisines. The rice bowls seem to be very popular here so we tried the chicken rice bowl with salted fish. The portion is big, but it was mostly rice with a layer of chicken and some salted fish on top. There wasn't enough chicken to go with each spoon of rice. The whole thing was just bland tasting, not counting the salted fish. The rice rolls i thought would be thin like those offered at dim sum, but these were different. They were like thick wide noodle rolled up. I'd be willing to go back and try other things, but based on what we've had, I'm not too excited about it.
Really good Chinese food in reasonable price. I came here weekly since I landed. Service is very good too.
Their menu is extensive. However, the prices seem to have gone up, so it's no longer a must go. Still a good choice for a quick bite if you happen to be in the neighborhood.
Found this spot on a whim while walking by Hing Hay Park and decided to try it. I was seated almost immediately, and the server was very nice explaining the menu to me. I ordered the shrimp and pork wonton noodle soup, which was exactly what I needed. Decent-sized portions, great food and reasonable prices.
Beef Fried rice flavor was pretty good. Slightly too salty. And unexpectedly wet. It takes good cantonese wok cooking skills to properly fry rice without breaking the rice kernels or making it too clumpy and wet. This fried rice was tasty, kernels nicely separated and kept individual but overall texture was still wet. Loved that they added in the lettuce for the crispy texture. So cantonese! (++)
Mala bowl noodle was okay. Nothing to brag home about. Beef was overcooked. Dried out. (-)
Kidney/liver dish was tough. Unlike other places that tenderize and cook up where you get the flavor and a fresh crisp Ness in each bite, this version was lackluster at best. (--)
Pan fried rice roll appetizer was 'just okay' as well. I expected dry-er texture and better flavor. This one was only lightly seasoned. Found the heat of the pan on the food. But was missing the char, that often gives much of the flavor. (+-)
Overall this has it's hits and misses. Will go back to try congee and wonton soup. (+-)
Big big portion and very tasty food!!
We got a shrimp and pork wonton noodle and a lamb mala tang, both came in very big bowls and both are full of goodies. Lamb is cooked very tender, I love how spicy the soup is! The wonton is so big and each comes with a whole shrimp in it. Price is very reasonable! Highly recommend!
I had cart noodles with fried egg and fish balls.
It was delicious. It is a pocket friendly restaurant. Highly recommend when you want to eat delicious Chinese cuisine at a low price.
Very legitimate Hong Kong/Cantonese style cafe food and desserts. There’s usually a wait around lunch and dinner because the food is good and the prices reasonable. I’ve yet to be disappointed in any of the good. The HK desserts are my favorites.
Hidden gem in Chinatown. Go there for the delicious food and decent service, not the atmosphere.
You will absolutely love this place. Possibly the best Hong Kong style food you can find in this area of the city. The menu is great and the place is staff friendly. Just go there.
Convenient location, great variety of food and dessert options on the menu. Service is Ok, slow sometimes, could definitely be improved.
Great chinese/Hong Kong style food. Generous serving. Definitely one of the best in Seattle.
First time in the International District. Ate the mala tang with ox tripe, non-spicy--was kind of bland; maybe should've gotten the spicy or at least the mild. Really fresh ingredients though. Had a bite of friend's beef lo mein--will order that next time. Yes, there will be a next time~
Delicious food, decent price and good portion! It is always very busy though but the food is worth the wait!
The best Asian restaurant that I have been to to this day! Deserts omg! A whole new world of deserts that I did not even know existed!! Loved it!
Very tasty and a with a good selection of food. I had the fish slice mala Tang and it was excellent. The vegetables and seafood we're perfectly cooked and flavorful.
Excellent food. It was busy for dinner when I went mid week. It's pretty basic looking inside but don't let that fool you! Give this place a try if you like good Korean food.
Great place for food... Amazing taste... I cannot even believe how can they make mango smoothie taste better than an organic one... Too good food.
Best CP restaurant for delicious small hot pot, Chinese sweetie and so on. The only problem is the restaurant space is kind of small causing the long waiting list.
The menu is filled with every HK dishes you could possibly think of and it's ridiculous, in a good way. The dishes are very well made and servedin timely manner. We love everything we ordered and can't wait to go back
Great food, always order the stone pot with mango sago shake.
Update: Restaurant has moved to a larger more comfortable spot, on King St, between Maynard and 7th
Be prepared to butt elbows with other diners as you mop your brow over delicious malatang at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen.
Food: There's a variety of stone pot dishes and cart noodles available here, but by far the most popular dish is the malatang - available in four spice levels and with your choice of protein (or vegetarian), this firey noodle bowl is packed with cabbage, thinly sliced potato, and enticing ribbons of chewy seaweed. Be forewarned that the "hot" level is not to be underestimated, though that doesn't stop authentic diners from heaping additional spoonfuls of chili oil into their bowl!
Ambience: An eclectic mix of orange and black upholstery with orange and turquoise walls. Chinese news and weather plays on multiple TVs on the wall. Seating is very cramped here and you may be asked to dine with another table if you are a solo diner. This is not a good location for groups larger than four.
Price: Great prices across the entire menu. Even seafood items here are relatively cheap.
Service: Decent service but, like most places in the International District, relaxed. Don't be shy about asking for additional napkins or having your water filled.
Yummy desserts! What else is there to say? Lots of choices to select from the menu and TV screens on the wall. Service was quick. There can be lines and parking can be difficult at times.
Authentic Hong Kong cafe! Good portion and very reasonably priced. Be ready for a long wait during busy hours and good for small group (4 or less) since it has limited seatings
Chicken curry soup with noodles was excellent! Perfect comfort food on a rainy winter night.
Great food & so comforting to me! The cart noodles & the stone pot is so delicious! 😍 My new favorite hands down. …
Very good hong kong style food. It reminded me a lot of home.
Authentic, fantastic food that will give you the Ratatouille experience, takes you right back to the village. That said, you don't need to travel East to enjoy great food and desserts. It's right here, folks. Bon appetit.
Great Cantonese restaurant in international district that has lots of things you’d find across Hong Kong or Guangzhou. Got congee and stone pot rice, and of course for some Chinese donut (油條). I’d definitely go back to try a few other dishes that I saw coming out of the kitchen.
This is a super quick and cheap authentic meal with no gimmicks or foodie trends. The twenty or so minute wait for the stone clay pot rice is worth every second. The cart noodles are also well worth it. Very refreshing and light with tons of options and add ons to make each visit a little different. The wait staff is very attentive and quick. They have plenty of recommendations if you are unsure of what to get. This is the only place in town I have found with traditional Chinese desserts and they are available hot or cold. I prefer the hot and it is well worth it. I highly recommend giving this place a try whenever you are in the international district.
Very busy all the time, but if you can get it, it's well worth any wait! The noodle soups are simply scrumptious! And the mango sago pomelo beverage is nice and refreshing in the summertime! It is a good thing that they opened another location to help offload some of the customer base.
I had the beef Mala Tang and it was amazing. It was hot and came out of the kitchen in less than 10 minutes.
I had a "Ratatouille" moment here as I slurped up a bowl of beef noodle soup. This hole in the wall serves up authentic, classic Hong Kong style café dishes. I was thrown back to my childhood with fond memories of my late grandmother.
Really tasty curry brisket noodle for a great price, open late hours too!
A home away from home. Growing up eating a lot of Hong Kong cuisine and missing it deeply as more and more stores in New York's China Town closed, walking into A+ Hong Kong Kitchen was a breath of fresh air. Walking through the door filled my nose with an aroma that revived memories of my childhood.
I'm glad I wasn't dining alone as I had to order a lot of favorites most notably cheung fun and curry fish balls which tasted as though it were ripped straight from my memories. The spareribs and Chinese sausage rice was also great as if my mom was the one behind the kitchen doors.
first time I eat here at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen yesterday on lunar new year, The food was An A+
Not sure what all the hype is, tried a variety of dishes I wasn’t in love. The prices are solid though and my friends really like the rice rolls.
I love their pan fried chicken with spaghetti (pair with black pepper sauce). Will be back!
Nice food! Taste good! Fish&minced pork hot pot rice
Cheap and good quality food. 👍.
I was feeling sleepy after eating this every nerve is awake. So take care about spice level while ordering. …
Loved the experience and feeling in Hong Kong 😉
Very good selection of dishes to attend any person with any level of appetite
Often has a line for this small Hong Kong cafe type restaurant. Give it a try very good fun!
We order 盆菜,年糕 for Chinese New Year festival for 2 years in a row. And it never let us down. Great food quality and service quality attract us to come back for more treats.
Legit HK Food. Had the raddish cake, minced meat noodle and white fish sauce baked rice. Can’t decide between tea or coffee…try the yuan yang drink! Will come back again. Thumbs up!
When they opened a new location a block away, I was a bit worried when they were going to close this location. But!! They are still open and still serving their delicious malatang and rice rolls with xo sauce. So good. I am not quite ready to dine in yet, but omg their takeouts, yum!
Very authentic Cantonese food. Very tasty. Worth to come back.
One of the best Hong Kong kitchen in Seattle area. Never disappointing me.
Delicious food. Friendly staff
Good service
Food is great, traditional Hong Kong style dishes.
Dessert used to be very good, but the last few times I ordered it was not good anymore. It was the mango, milk, ice, grass jelly drink. SAD. Hope someone there sees this and can improve it. Not much mango anymore, and drink now taste a little watered out.
Great food, good service, nice staffs, undefeatable price~~
Taste is good, portions are above average but the service and wait times weren’t great. It’s a cozy restaurant better for smaller groups.
Great food. Authentic Hong Kong style food, I greatly enjoyed it.
The French Toast with Peanut Butter is just like the one I had in Hong Kong, the Milk Tea is so refreshing, not too sweet at all. The Mushroom and Chicken Stone Pot is simple and good. We enjoyed it with the provided sauce and hot chili oil. We ended the meal with Purple Rice, Mango, Sesame Ball and Coconut Milk Dessert.
Would definitely recommend. It gets busy, I would not recommend larger groups. (5+)
Awesome Hong Kong style fast food!
This place is.the truth. The Clay Pot Pork & Chinese Sausage was the hit. Never had it in China but can imagine this is the way it should taste.
Excellent! Flavorful Hong Kong style food at reasonable prices. The star dish for me was the noodles. With lots of different broth and topping options, it's sure to satisfy anyone. My pick is the fishballs with curry soup. I also liked the stir fried noodles and fried rice. The service was quick and friendly (disclaimer: takeaway experience only).
This restaurant offers authentic Hong Kong cafe style dishes such as baked pork chop on rice, baked Portuguese chicken on rice, steak with garlic sauce on rice, claypot rice... etc. The baked dishes can be ordered takeout as well, and they are baked in tinfoil containers. Taste so good.
A little conflicted for this review. We ordered the curry fish ball for apps, baked pork chop rice and baked fish rice with white sauce for entree. The fish balls were pretty decent, but $3 for 6 balls seems a bit steep.
The pork chop rice looked promising but the taste was just a little off. The sauce was good but whatever they used to marinate the meat was too strong, and it was too salty. The meat was also a bit dry. The fish with white sauce was less salty but it also didn't taste as creamy as other white sauce I've had.
With such good ratings, I came with pretty high expectations. We'll probably give this place another try and try their other dishes next time. Also to note, they have a pretty extensive list of Hong Kong dessert, probably worth a try as well.
The food here isn't really anything you'd take photos of for your social media. Instead, you should just scarf it down while it's hot and enjoy a legitimately delicious meal. I've had the rice noodle rolls a couple times now and it was every bit as good I hope each time. The pork hock was on point and you just can't go wrong with the stone bowls. Portions are huge, flavor is full and the price is right. A+
The reviews were really good, so my husband and I tried it. The service was really good and the young lady that helped us was very knowledgeable with the menu. The dumplings were good. The soup came out luke warm. My husband had the beef brisket in his soup and it was REALLY fatty. Normally that wouldn't bother him since he loves fatty meat, but this was very tough. Overall it wasn't terrible, but not sure it would be my first choice.
The place has pretty authentic Hong Kong style dishes. We started off with a french toast with peanut butter which was delicious. It goes perfectly with a cup of hot Horlick. Next up is the curry fish balls. The fish balls themselves were standard packaged balls but the curry sauce was strong with flavor.
We got a Portuguese style fish and rice which had some veggies like corn and peas. It's basically a rice dish with sauce on top, then baked for a light golden crust. It was packed with turmeric. It was decent. We also got the Portuguese style beef and spaghetti. It's just like the other dish with different protein and carbs. The sauce doesnt mix in with spaghetti the same way as the rice.
In hindsight, we should have diversified dishes...so we added a spare ribs and Chinese sausage rice in stone pot. The staff alerted me it would take 25 minutes to make which was fine. It came out wonderful with the rice slightly burnt on the bottom. Drizzle some of the soy sauce and it was amazing. Highly recommended.
In the end, everything was carb heavy. I would come back and try other items.
As always, this place is legit. A little restaurant that reminds me of Hong Kong. The food is fast, hot, fresh. The service is fast, they are not being rude, I see it as maximizing efficiency. Staff is flexible since I was able to substitute one of my rice dishes for rice noodles, just ask! A+ definitely deserves the name they gave themselves.
First, the egg rolls are AWESOME! Serving sizes are HUGE. Tons of choices and the three meals we got where very good. Definitely worth a drop in for a meal if you're in Chinatown.
Classic hong Kong style diner with fast, quick, and clean service. Nothing fancy, just straight good food. Don't miss out on the brisket noodle soups.
Delicious and very well priced! Seating was limited but it was worth the wait. There was sooo much crispy rice at the bottom of my hot pot (yes!) And the mango pudding was perfect - fresh, sweet but not too sweet, made with real mangos. Also, there were a handful of vegetarian options, which weren't posted anywhere online before I visited.
Food quality is good and authentic Cantonese crusine. Highly recommend!
All recyclable take out containers!! Very good with food allergies. Awesome, courteous service. Diverse selection of affordable food, the order is always right - these people are amazing!! The food is top notch, flavorwise. Everything is as delicious as can be conceived of. No disappointments in all the years of going here.
Very fast service, the waitress was friendly and was able to answer multiple specific questions about the food instantly, and it tastes super good! And the restaurant itself has good vibes all around.
Fun place. No frills. Chill staff & unlimited tea
Big plate and homey taste. I would keep going back if I live in town!
My favorite here are the pan fried dumplings, congee, milk tea, ma la noodle bowls (spicy!!), gai lan, and beef wide noodles (chow fun).
This place is worth the wait. Amazing Hong Kong style dishes, be adventurous and try something new. Congee, noodle soups, all have many depths of flavors. Tiny hole in the wall, not fancy, but SO GOOD! Always busy it seems so be prepared to wait if it's a popular time.
Food was pretty good, but not as great as all the other reviews describe. Got the stone pot rice with Chinese sausage and spareribs, and the XO rice rolls appetizer. XO sauce is delightful and rich, be sure to try a dish that comes with it! Stone pot rice takes at least 20 minutes to make, but other food comes out very quickly. Beware, I went around 6 on a Friday night and as this place is so popular, wait times are usually at least 30 minutes, and the restaurant is tiny, so I had to wait outside in the cold! When you get there, put your name down on the list with the number in your party. Make sure to pay attention b/c if they say your name once and nobody comes to claim the spot, they will quickly move on to the next person on the list! Only 2 waitresses for the entire restaurant, so expect lightning fast interactions and not very attentive service.
Pros: good food, cheap prices as is consistent across all of international district.
Cons: Spotty service, long wait times
International district has some more obscure spots that are close by and absolutely delicious with no wait times and the same prices, so I would recommend going there instead.
This is a amazing restaurant and definitely earns it's name. Obviously rated A+ because that rating is true. We had many foods, and I highly recommend the hot pots with rice. This is one of my favourite restaurants here by far. It has great service, food, price, and clean bathrooms. It is therefore a A+ rated restaurant for sure.
Best and cheapest HongKong food I’ve had in the US+Canada.
Nice and authentic food. A little crowded during lunch time, but that means it is popular. My friend brought me here. I had lamb ma la tang. Really yummy and satisfying! Reasonably priced. Fast service in spite of a lot of customers.
This place deserves an average of at least 4.5 stars, so I’m giving a 5.
1, best beverage in Chinatown. They sell REAL milk tea and tea at half price of the regular beverage shops in Chinatown. $2.75 for milk tea made with real milk, not some cheap and unhealthy powdered milk.
2, probably the most authentic Hong Kongese food and atmosphere, although their food is on the bland side. I prefer their more salty options like Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice. Not their specialty, but it’s my favorite.
3, always full on weekends. Right now it’s 5pm on a Wednesday and there are a few tables empty, but on weekends, there’s a line even at 3PM.
Strongly recommended!
Really good food and it came pretty fast! It looked suspicious when entering but good. Definitely recommend the beef brisket lo mein was amazing but the hygiene of the restaurant in the kitchen looked unpleasant.
Amazing food and great service. Nice clean enviroment.
A great place to get Hong Kong Cafe food. With more room at the new location, the wait time to get seated is much better than before. The food isn't half bad either.
A small cozy place for authentic Cantonese food. The baked dishes take a while to come out, but are absolutely worth the wait. Wait staff are a bit rushed and sometimes they feel understaffed; however, the high quality of the food rarely changes. Can get crowded around 4-6 on weekdays and especially weekends. A high recommendation for the food itself, but 4/5 due to staff attitude and attention.
Delicious, authentic Hong Kong style cafe food with a huge menu. Everything I’ve ordered here is good but favorites are the shrimp rice noodle with egg, XO rice noodle, curry fish balls and the garlic veggies.
Come for cheap, tasty food!
Reminds us of Hong Kong. The food is very tasty and service is great. One of the only Hong Kong diners in Seattle. Great for late night or breakfast meals. We have eaten here many times and have always had a great experience! You can’t go wrong with anything on their extensive menu.
Typical with any Asian restaurant, the lack of service is fairly average. I've been here three times and have yet to actually receive decent service. The wait is astronomical if you arrive during lunch or dinner. There is little space inside, so strollers and wheelchairs are not recommended within the restaurant.
Their food is not bad, but their Hong Kong style milk tea is a lackluster.
Delish! Cute little cafe with good music and international news playing on the TV. I ordered the curry chicken noodle soup and it came out hot and flavorful with a generous amount of chicken. Everyone else's food looked even better than what I had ordered. Prices are also very reasonable. I'll be back!
Good Cantonese food. Salt fish steamed pork was good!
I go there all the time. It is a really good Hong Kong style tea restaurant. The food is really tasty. The staff is friendly. The price is really good too. The only downside is there is a long wait for a seat because it is just that good.
Hands down, our favorite place in Chinatown. Every dish we've tried has been great and the prices are super reasonable. Absolutely worth a visit!
No frills, delicious, authentic, value. Would give 6 stars if possible
I have been eating here for years since it's first opening day. Great prices and large quantities of Chinese food that tastes much like how your mom would of made it. I bring my friends here all the time but be warned, lunch time is a very popular here.
Great! I've never had Hong Kong-style food before, but I found something similar on their menu to a seafood soup. This included squid, fish (I don't know what kind, but tasty), and an interesting flavor of broth. Not bad, just something I had never had before. You can choose your type of noodle that you want, as well. They have very spicy soup, (I personally can't stand anything spicy), but someone else in my group had it. I believe, but am not sure, that they have some good vegetarian/vegan options.
A+ Hong Kong Kitchen's Shrimp and Pork Wonton Noodle Soup is absolutely delicious and affordable. I would highly recommend coming in for just this. But it also has a lot of comfort food options, specifically, their congee. Coupled with their bubble tea, this is a definite place to hit up when you're in the International District of Seattle!
Good hong kong beef and fried rice. Thank you
Fantastic restaurant for a good price. The food has great flavor and is served in a timely manner. Unfortunately, could be fairly crowded. Seats 6 at most, so I wouldn't recommend for a large group of people unless you want to split tables.
Ok, but they had bones in all the meat and it made me nervous.
Love their hot pot rice 🥘
Hard decisions to be made. Many of the dishes sounded great and at a reasonable price. Have tried the mala tang and different stone pots. Everything has been delicious and served quickly. Will be back to try other dishes like the noodle soups.
I came for the smoothie! When I walked in everything smelt great and the food looked amazing. There was a line for people waiting to be seated. This is my favorite smoothie, “Mango smoothie sago”. Four star since I haven’t tried their food yet.
This place has super authentic Hong Kong cusine. I used to go to Hong Kong a lot when I was growing up and I love the 茶餐厅 style cafe in Hong Kong, especially the cart noodles and Portuguese style baked rice/noodles. So glad I could find them here in Seattle! It truly reminds me of home a lot T_T I'll for sure come back again and again to try out everything on the menu!
Simple, delicious Hong Kong style dishes. I like their cart noodle and mala soup noodle. I'm also a fan of their fried chicken wings. The restaurant is pretty tiny. The biggest party they can fit is probably just 8 people.
There could be a long wait if you go during lunch. Go early and beat the crowds.
First time and amazing. The salt pork is fabulous
Awesome little spot if you don't mind waiting for a seat. But it is worth the wait. Been here twice and cant wait for my next visit. The flavors are unique but delicious. I'm not an expert on food from Hong Kong, but what I do know is that this place is fantastically Dee Lish!!!
Food is good but the staff could be a little more friendly. They were a bit obsessed about whether or not you want water. They kept repeating 'you didn't ask for water right.' Not fan of the baked fish spaghetti, a bit soggy. Their fried rice is delicious though.
Huge portions- no msg. Price is GREAT for the price. I had to call in and say I appreciate it. Great food!
Only positive things to say here! The food always reminds me of Hong Kong with better service :).
I am a veteran diner in the international district, and I love all the different kinds of foods. Cantonese cuisine has a special place in my heart. A+ Hong Kong kitchen presents one of the best menus and best Cantonese cuisine talents I have seen in recent history. This is a blend of the old and the new giving a wide range of dishes from Malatong to traditional noodle soups and savory baked dishes. Hong Kong kitchen presents one of the best menus and best Cantonese cuisine talents I have seen in recent history. This is a blend of the old and the new giving a wide range of dishes from Malatong to Portuguese style baked dishes, and traditional egg noodle soups. I have eaten there several times, and there’s never been anything but the absolute best Hong Kong / Cantonese cuisine has to offer. I hope this restaurant continues for a good long time so we can enjoy as much of the menu as possible. And it is a very large menu. Check out the desserts. Traditional Cantonese style desserts with a modern flair.
we been here many times and every time lunch or dinner time, there was a line (even at 3pm) and remember don't go on Tuesday. all food we had tasted good and I have to say that beef brisket is really good, flavorful and very tender! when you crave some hong kong café style food, you can go give it a try
Fantastic meal. Service was slow (but friendly) and food came out slowly, but the food was prepared as excellently as any authentic Chinese restaurant I've eaten at. The daikon/radish/turnip cake (pan fried) that I ordered was the best I've ever had anywhere. The beef brisket is a perfect example of how Chinese beef brisket should be prepared with melt in your mouth tendon and flavorful beef. The beef was well sauced without being too sweet, too salty, or too spicy, but just right. This was served with rice noodle rolls (flat sheets of rice flour rolled into rolls) and in a stone pot. I've never had that particular style of the rice sheets before and I quite enjoyed it. The won ton noodle soup was also flavorful without being too salty (a common problem with this dish at other restaurants I've eaten at) and the won tons (pork and shrimp) were very meaty. Mine had 6 large wontons and an ample amount of thin egg noodles with a seafoody broth that was very drinkable.
I've been here twice. Each time I pass by there's a line out the door, but I have not been impressed by the food. Maybe I don't know how to order, but I've just gotten mediocre soups and plates they are all carbs and no veggies or color that are a bit bland.
Delicious breakfast spam sandwich with eggs. Yummy
Finally we dined here! Love it and will come again, food were delicious and I forgot to take pictures 🤣
best restaurant in China town. Various choices and good taste. The price is friendly too!
You can always expect delicious Hong Kong style food and excellent service. Simply my go-to place for Hong Kong cafe.
A+ stone pot rice
Serving portions are generous, and food has the HK style taste as remembered from growing up. Service is pretty bad by US standards. Be assertive and flag someone down if you need something.
It has all the best of your favorite Hong Kong cafe essentials. The noodles, the steak and cutlet platters, milk teas, and desserts. Oh and that mango coconut sago ice blend is better than boba whatever any day IMHO...🤤😌 …
I love this place!! My family members order their favorite dish every time we go. Pork chop with garlic sauce, congee, steamed dumpling, Malatang ~everything is yummy, only bad thing is there's always a line of people.
Family owned restaurant. Like many of them are in ID.
This is my go to for authentic cantonese or HK style cuisine.
1) friendly service - pls don't expect service like an American restaurant.
2) delicious food
3) clean
4) must try: HK Milk tea, dumplings, toast, baked rice dishes, pot rice dishes, wonton noodles.
5) downside: I love tofu pudding (Tau fu fa), but theirs aren't delicious.
Wide selection of good food. Good prices.
A bit overrated at the moment but solidly a 3.5-4 star. The malatang was not bad, chicken/mushroom stone pot rice was excellent and the purple rice coconut milk drink was very good as well. Very generous portions.
Loving this place so much! We came here non stop and loved everything we ordered! Don't skip the drinks, hongkong style milk tea and coffee milk tea are amazing! Can't wait to try something else! Great meal with great price and a lot to choose from!!
The mango pudding sago with ice cream was a dream. Would go back just for that dessert.
First time I try this spot and I love it. I had the curry beef brisket add wontons noodle soup and it a delicious. Very recommended ! The only thing no good is I live in New York.
This is Cantonese food at is best! Try something new or go with comfort food, you can't go wrong!
The rice cake with XO sauce... definitely !! We had the mala tang and the coconut milk and curry. Really yummy. It was very crowded with 25min wait time but totally worth it.
Great service! I had the Curry beef brisket soup. I loved the broth, bok choy, & chow fun noodles. The meat could be more tender, though.
The curry chicken is a heavenly experience. Whoever’s working the kitchen has hands of magic.
I'm from New York City, moved west about 8 months ago. This is the first time I've had Chinese food like my hometown's Chinatown. I missed it so much. Awesome food, quick service💚 …
Great noodle soup experience. Lots of combinations and choices in the build your own noodle variety as well as preset selections. Will be aiming to come back again for sure!
A+ is probably the best of the "Hong Kong Style" restaurants in the area. HK style is a wonderful mixture of cultural influences from Asia, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the US. Although open for less than two months, A+ is already very popular, especially at lunch time. It is relatively small, but has a huge menu that includes many kinds and combinations of noodles, congees, rice/spaghetti dishes, clay-pot rices, mala tang, and a large selection of desserts and drinks. The portions are huge, and the prices are very reasonable.
This may be the best Wonton Noodle Soup in Seattle. It came to the table steaming hot, with a clean and flavorful broth. There was a huge amount of thin noodles cooked to a perfect firm texture. The wontons were huge, with tasty shrimp and pork fillings. The wonton skins were thick like they made them there, and they needed the thickness to hold the huge ball of filling. Very comforting.
The Portuguese Style Baked dish comes like a casserole on either rice or spaghetti, with a choice of beef, chicken or fish. I chose chicken. Dark meat chicken, onions and red and green bell peppers are sauteed, sauced, and cover the rice or spaghetti for a quick bake. The sauce is popular in Macau, China. As a Portuguese colony, it's cuisine itself is a cultural blend. The dominant flavor is turmeric.
The menu has so many tempting items that it calls out for many happy returns.
Tasty authentic Hong Kong style beverages and food. We particularly liked the grilled sandwich and the Ying Yang, which is a combination of tea and coffee that tastes really creamy.
Ordered the salted fish and chicken fried rice and the Portuguese Style Brisket Stone Plate and this food is absolutely amazing! So damn good!
Can get crowded but quick turnaround. Food very good, authentic and good variety. Servers moving all the time. Seem to be on the ball. Helps to speak Chinese (or spouse does) but not necessary.
Mala tang is really tasty, asis the stone pot rice dishes. My kids love the dessert drinks. Their fav is the mango smoothie with sago
Super amazing new Cantonese place. Dishes are awesome, desserts are even better. Definitely give newly opened fruit bliss a run for its money.
Very nice. Had the braised beef brisket with vegetables in stone pot, pork hock over rice rolls in stone pot, and mango pudding
This place is very busy. The staff is nice. My only big issue is that when you ask them to cook things well done...... they Smile and say yes..... yet never actually do. Then they step away and laugh at the customers.
one of the best noodle soups I've had. the broth is so full of flavorful you want to finish everything. I had the Szechuan noodle soup, mala Tang, and beef noodle soup
Food was good not great service was trash no napkins or sauce
Food was amazing but the service was a little slow. However, the Hong Kong french toast is a must try.
Came here a couple of times when I was visiting my friends at Seattle. This place is conveniently located in Chinatown. Parking is still hard to find during peak hours but the food is worth the trouble and the price is really reasonable.
Incredible food! Probably one of the best meals I’ve had. I highly recommend this place!
My orders are always right and always done just when I arrive! They are so punctual!!!! I love their French toast and HK milk tea!!!
Don't know what I got but it sure is good
THE FOOD! The staff is really flexible nice and the food is very affordable and comes out in a timely manner. Overall amazing!!!!! Keep it up!!!
Can't get any better in terms of Cantonese cuisine!
Will be going back because I am allergic to onions and I was able to have certain dishes where they have it separate. Never been able to do that anywhere else. Most places prepare it ahead of time.
Fresh food, lots of items to choose from. Pretty good service for how crowded it was on a Saturday. Prices are reasonable, as were portions of what we ordered. Will visit again.
I ordered a bubble tea, chicken wing, cart noodle and ma la tang, ma la Tang have half egg shell in it which is very disgusting, the waitress very nice didn't charge me for it, the cart noodle is decent, the chicken wing is decent.
I could live on the mala tang! I've been twice in two weeks, and I'd happily go back tonight. Tiny dining room, always busy, but fast and friendly service.
Have to try it out!!!
Food is great but very very poor service and management. Don’t go at a busy time when there’s a wait. They have no idea how to manage wait times and seat groups accordingly.
Reasonable priced Hong Kong dishes. Definitely good value for money.
Only been here many times over a few years, however, never disappointed. Great fare, great prices, great portions, fast and efficient staff.
I don't remember what the dishes called but it was honestly delicious you could tell they put a lot of work into their food. Plus the atmospheres very pleasing.
Just try the beef chowfun. You will know if this is the one.
I always go there for a quick tasty hongkang style food. Well more than often you have to wait about 15 to 30 mins. It is worth the wait.
Good food and have to wait for sit.
Suuuuuuper friendly service even during these times, portions a bit small and I only weigh 140lbs but the service and flavor outweigh everything else. Thanks A+ HKK
It was the best restaurant experience we've had in Chinatown yet.
Fantastic service, food and clean bathroom.
I ordered the fish congee and the seafood stone bowl, they are both very good. Small area, long wait for lunch.
Many people came in at same time, it's very popular in the ID; yummy food and good service, but feel too crowded, I was afraid that I might accidentally hit someone with my backpack.
Good quality, tasty Cantonese food in happy portions. Big menu, wonderful (and customizable) desserts!
Nice classic HK cafe with all your favorite HK foods. Started by the original owners of Hong Kong Bistro. This place is better.
Legit af Hong Kong restaurant. Get the pineapple bun and milk tea for sure.
Great food. I had their shrimp and pork wonton with chow fun noodles.
Good food at reasonable price. Sometimes it has a long waiting line. Wish they have more seats.
One of the best and authentic Hong Kongnese Style Cafe. I grew up in HK, and the food brings back good memory.
This place has some great authentic Hong Kong/Chinese food. You will usually find a line here, but it’s worth it.
Not what a middle-class white dude was expecting, but service and food were both fairly good. Portion sizes were fairly generous.
Tiny little restaurant with fast service, just wished the mango was natural like that said 😒 …
As long as you arrive before 11:30am you are able to get a seat.
Food and a variety are excellent.
Really good fried rice combo. Authentic Chinese cuisine.
Had the veggie congee. Was comforting and yummy as always, but definitely would have been better with pickled vegetables.
My Mala Tang was HOT! But it was good! Friendly servers too.
A+ is always consistent and delicious. If you desire Hong Kong style food this is the place.
Mmmmm, one of the best shrimp wonton lo mien I've ever had!
The menu is extensive. Traditional authentic Chinese food served in sharable size.
Great food and resonable price. Good service. You may have to wait a bit.
It deserves the 5 stars! The best Cantonese food I ever had in the US.
By far, the most tasteful HK style Tea & Meal house I have ever been in Seattle.
Super delicious little spot! The stir fry rice noodles with XO sauce are A++!!
One of my fave asian spots in Seattle! Milk teas are just like the ones from Hong Kong.
Line is out the door, food was good, quick service and wait wasn't very long. Well worth it, except for the cleanliness.
Asian food is authentic.
Large portions.
Reasonable price.
Overall very good HK style comfort food but salty to me.
Food's okay, but definitely a place you go when your hungry. (Portion sizes are large)
The best!! Just what you get in Hong Kong: tiny storefront, seemingly disorderly, but absolutely amazing food and price.
Great place for lunch. Good value for the money. Tasty food and large portions.
Great Hong Kong style cafe with tons of options, really busy during normal eating hours
Love this place. Super legit. The only place I found that does rice in clay pot (bao zai fan)
Get the rolled noodle w XO sauce you will NOT regret it!
This place is SO good!
Great food. Ask about the vegetable options too because they are very good.
Great Cantonese food in international district.
Good food and great service!
Great service. Yummy food and decent prices. Good desserts too.
Get the roast duck!
Great place to get comfort Chinese food. Service is fast but thats it
Tasty food, large portions, many options, not expensive (most dishes are under $10).
Absolutely delicious, great prices, definitely Worth checking out
Great food, feel like back in Hong Kong dining at local diner.
Get the clay pot rice
Declious food with reasonable price! But, the space is limited and need more time to wait for seat!
Liked it, fair price, good food, fast for sit-down, but crowded
Everything we ordered was great inclding egg rolls, rice rolls, soup, mala tang
Decent HK style diner with additional options in sweets and Sichuan style hot soup.
Authentic Hong Kong style food, recommend the mango slush sago smoothie.
Theyre food was so good and kept up with the holiday rush really well
Came here just for the mango smoothie with coconut milk and sago, 10/10 recommend
The food is great and the price is right. BEST PLACE IN CHINA TOWN.
One of my favorite restaurants. The marinated pig intestine is awesome.
Huge delicious portions, nice staff, amazing prices!
Crowded but could get seating fairly quickly. Food is cheap and awesome.
Great spicy food. There's usually a wait here since it's a small restaurant and it's pretty popular.
love the food but the place is so packed and you always need to wait
Some the best noodles in town. Expect a line and a wait. Worth it.
I was kinda surprised that the portions are bigger then I thought. As for the food, it's not bad.
Nice food, the boss have two restaurant already, both of them are success.
Awesome meatball rice noodles. Authentic hong kong taste.
Amazing Chinese food at awesome prices. Places like this are why I love Seattle.
Food is tasty! I would recommend getting the stone pot rice!
Every dish ordered is money's worth.....and tasty too.
Very good foods for cheap eats. Quality and quantity
Good for Hong Kong taste, good service.
Good athentic Chinese food. Very busy, some wait.
