Reviews of 84 Yesler

Such a wonderful place! The service really stands out. We were greeted by name by a host who was standing outside the restaurant waiting for us. We were immediately seated and attended to. The waiter knew the menu well and gladly gave expert insight into what to order. Lastly, the quality of the food and cocktails was outstanding, in addition to a beautiful presentation. This place takes fine dining to a whole new level. I can’t wait to come back when I visit Seattle again!

Incredible. I’ve eaten at a lot of 2 and 3 Michelin Star restaurants and 84 Yesler is better than most of them. This restaurant is the top of their game. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Food was super tasty and prices were reasonable for this level of quality. The wine pairing matched perfectly with each dish.

This is an outstanding restaurant. Simply put, if you're looking for an exquisite dining experience with top notch service and modern unique food in Seattle, you have to check out 84 Yesler!
My wife and I were blown away by the food, especially their homemade pastas. Each bite of tomato gnocchi was like a bite of tomato soup. We had several dietary restrictions but the kitchen was happy to adjust menu items accordingly.
In all of our years working in restaurants we have never seen such a calm and professional kitchen. The chef stood silently as she observed each dish being made. There was zero chaos and everything came out so beautiful! We felt like judges on Top Chef. We highly recommend eating here, and if possible, ask for Justin to be your server. His service is impeccable.

One of my most favorite restaurants in Seattle. Influenced by Japanese and Italian cuisines -
do not think sushi or red sauced pasta! This is clean, fresh and interesting flavor combinations. Where you can taste all the flavors of each element of the dish, all prepared and served with care. It’s where you go to appreciate the creativity of the kitchen, and you’re not just eating for sustenance.

The food here is absolutely amazing. Unique food with exceptional presentation and flavors.
Too bad our experience was so horribly tainted by the extremely rude, condescending female Somalia on staff.
After not finishing one of the wine pairings my girlfriend was asked by a server if she liked it since she had not drank much. She said it was not to her liking but she was fine to wait for the next course. The Somalia then came by and very rudely poured her a different glass and gave her a long lecture about how the wine would’ve tasted better if she would’ve just given it a chance. Then every following course she would come hover over her until she tried it. My girlfriend resorted to saying she liked it just so the lady would back away from our table. The Somalia would then come back and told her WHY She should like it rather than telling her ABOUT the wine. As if, to make my girlfriend uncomfortable if she didn’t drink it all. She would go on and on, after we said thank you(trying again to dismiss her) to tell us how the wine complements the food and “if she knew that then she should’ve enjoyed it the way the Somalia chose it”. I’ve never been to an establishment and had to watch my girlfriend be so insulted in my life by a Somalia, in an effort to just enjoy our evening!
Other than that, beautiful kitchen, amazing staff And a present owner who is committed to his establishment.
I can’t say I would ever return, even with the exceptional food, as long as the incredibly rude staff member is employed here.
My girlfriend ended up leaving the restaurant in tears. However they did stop me as I tried to follow her out and asked to comp the wine pairing. Which I thought was very professional and shows they care about the customer being happy. I would’ve preferred the whole experience to be simply enjoyable and less emotionally charged(by a staff member).
I felt extremely uncomfortable and just wanted to spend a nice evening out with my girlfriend.
We hope that others have a different experience and can enjoy the amazing this place has to offer as well as an amazing atmosphere. And we wish the owner all the best. I still all in all think this place deserves five stars. I do have to add I LOVED seeing a female head chef in the kitchen. She was killing it💪🏽

Service was great and the food was tasty and interesting, but I It wasn’t anything that truly lived up to other fine dining experiences I’ve had from a flavor perspective. We had the tasting g menu, and wished we had stuck to the a la carte options instead based on other reviews and the trends of the evening. Still some hidden gems in the tasting menu, but if it is your first time it may be best to stick with the staples that made it into the permanent menu

Excellent spot for creative cocktails and delicious food. The tuna tartare and octopus starters were excellent! The staff here are exceptional with their service and hyper attentive. The staff work together like a well orchestrated team and look out for each other at each of their tables. Gratuity is automatically included.

Wonderful and friendly staff. Great atmosphere. We did the tasting menu and all 3 of us were disappointed. Their first two courses were good the rest of the course was fishy and seem like bad quality, on these courses it was the lobster with caviar pasta and the fish dish. Very strong fishy aroma and tastes unpleasant. The presentation was gorgeous.
FYI, Margarita is pretty bad too, we had to send it back.
For a $900 dinner, I expect better quality. Don't think we will return.

Attention to detail would be the resounding theme at this exquisite establishment. From the very thin glasses that give a delicate feel to every sip to the relaxed and warm atmosphere that invites you to fall into a culinary experience of a lifetime. I must say that I've been to many "fine dining" establishments across the US and none have held up to the positively perfect experience we had here tonight. Was it slightly more expensive than you'd find elsewhere, perhaps a bit. However the food was simple, elegant, and struck the perfect balance between being practical and an eyeful before you've even had the first taste. An amazing mixture of textures, colors, and ingredients that perfectly fit together. I started with the beef tartare, king salmon for the main and the chocolate mousse for dessert. The bartender mixed up one of the best Pisco Sours I've had while dining out.
I simply can't recommend this place enough... We weren't quite hungry enough to give their 4 or 6 course taster selection a try this time but next time we are in Seattle we will certainly plan on giving it a go.
We were told that their non coursed menu changes a bit more often than seasonally so figure between 4-6 times a year. And their four or six course taster menu changes monthly from what we were told. So it sounds like there's always opportunity to come back for new experiences.
Justin was our server and he was so knowledgeable about the dishes with expertly answered questions. He also found the perfect balance between being attentive and helpful while not making us feel like he was hovering or trying to rush us through the meal. I feel like that kind of service is so hard to provide and he just nailed it. When we come back we'll hopefully be able to ask for him again!
Please do yourself a favor and spend an evening here, you won't regret it or soon forget it.

I remember when chef:owner Tamara Murphy of Terra Plata dined at 84 Yesler and commented that it was one of the best meals she had in Seattle...I couldn't wait to go. We were so excited to try this spot and WOW, are we ever glad we did. This spot is absolutely amazing - A++ team, and a new Executive Chef, Christina Siegl, who hails from several Michelin-star restaurants from around the globe. AB-SO-LUTELY AMAZING! Add it to your list and be WOWED like we were with food, service and ambience. WOW.

Date night done right! Me and my partner were seated at a cozy corner table with beautiful Japanese inspired decor. Our waitress was delightful. The tableware and glassware was gorgeous. All the food we ordered looked beautiful and tasted even better. There is a reason this place has such a high rating.
Definitely try the Churros and Japanese bread and also everything else 😋

The space is beautiful and the service is top notch. Loved the plating, the wine pairing, the chat with the wine manager about the dish and the wine. Highly recommended.

A hidden gem of a restaurant! Where food meets artistry. Every dish was a unique and sophisticated masterpiece of flavors. The staff is very professional and friendly as well. This place is not to be missed even if you are staying in Seattle for one night. Pumpkin Tortelli, Mushroom Agnolotti, Apple Cake, and cocktails crushed our expectations.

Wow. We were in the area and were looking for a highly rated restaurant and 84 Yesler did not disappoint. Once we were inside, I felt lucky we were able to be seated as we did not have reservations. We were underdressed for the ambiance. The drinks and food were delicious. The service was Japanese-like as promised and impeccable. The steak was particularly delicious.

Absolutely delightful the second I walked through the doors. I was greeted by a friendly host who sat me before the rest of my party arrived. I was immediately offered water and when I asked about the best recommendation for a cocktail, I was given a detailed response. Every member of my party arrived escorted by the host individually and the server provided equal attention. I was astounded by the customer service and level of detail. The minute our plates were empty, the plates were gone. When my water got to half, another server was nearby to fill the glass. We received a detailed account of each dish, including each dessert. The food was beyond expectations- plated beautifully and enjoyable across the palate. This was definitely a special occasion dinner for us.. My friends and I treated ourselves to a 3 course meal, so we each spent over $100, but some would find that a drink and entree is enough. Highly recommend this place for the food, the ambiance, the experience and the service.
RZzz G
Service is great but food is just ok. I would recommend order the dish you interested separately rather than the tasting menu.

A wonderful restaurant with a perfect chef tasting menu and service !
Update october 2022 : still wonderful. Everything perfect. Pasta dishes are really amazing ! 84 Yesler never disappoints, chef Christina is the best !

Amazing food, great atmosphere! We ordered the Parmesan churros and they reminded us of popovers. We liked them so much, we ordered another serving. So good! My husband loved the fois gras, and his old fashioned that the bartender made up. The carrot appetizer was fantastic, as was the burrata pasta. We will recommend to our family who live in Seattle, and anyone visiting. If we lived locally, we’d be back regularly. Thanks so much to the team for the great experience!!!

Open and bright kitchen in the middle of the resto. Like their description, food has touch of Italy, France, and Japan.
We had chawanmushi, tender eggs and strong umami flavour powered by the prawn on top. My basic tongue didn't get what the jelly cubes are trying to reliever, but the fish roes are delightful flavour bombs for each bite. Thought egg temperature can be more than lukewarm.
Bone marrow is fatty and indulging as expected, I thought the bread to accompany it is way too greasy. Fatty bone marrow plus soaked in butter(?) crostini, guiltily delicious, but bread is overpowering the bone marrow a bit.
Scallop has textbook seared sides and tender inside.
Snapper is on the drier side. They were so nice and made me a new one and took care of the bill, I really appreciate it. I start to wonder if snapper should taste meaty and dry but then I was told it should taste like halibut then I'm pretty sure I have had much more tenderer and juicy mild white fish elsewhere. Wonderfully seared skin though.
Fancy service you'd expect. Sit straight and behave yaself and you'll have an elegant evening with mostly satisfying food.
James Kasem
Every dish had a somewhat surprising but delicious twist. The preparation was nearly flawless.

We found this place on a whim and really hit the jackpot! Certainly deserves it’s 5 star rating… maybe for the dessert alone! From the moment you walk in you’re welcomed and every detail of the service was spot on. We shared the churros (savory) and cucumber salad to start. Highly recommend the churros, they melt in your mouth! My husband had the oysters and the salmon. He said the salmon was cooked perfectly. Charred outside medium inside. I had the homemade carrot pasta…. So tasty, the garlic crumble on top made the dish. For dessert we had the almond cake… omg… I could have eaten two! 😍 Highly recommend all around.

This is by far the best restaurant in Seattle. I accidentally discovered it before coming to Seattle for a work trip and was lucky enough to snag a reservation (no walk ins, must have a resy). The owner was there to greet us which made us feel very special. The service was impeccable - both waiter and Sommelier. We did the tasting menu which did not disappoint. Honestly I've been to Michelin restaurants that didn't leave an impression like Yesler 84 did. Michelin, if you are reading this, come here and give Seattle it's first stars. The food is exquisite and I can't wait to come back. Thank you!
Chris Schultz
Best dining experience I've had in a very long time. From the greeting at the door, the decor, the fantastic wine list and obviously the perfectly executed dishes, this is one of the best restaurants I've been to. I can't wait to come back soon. Thank you 84 Yesler!

Went in for a private birthday and was impressed with the high quality of food. The oysters are fantastic and they do they wonderful job with their tuna. I also liked the waiters weren’t intrusive and let us enjoy our dinner

Very attentive service with good attention to details. The food is refined with sophisticated flavors and presentation. The chef is very creative. This is certainly a top restaurant in Seattle. I wish I could give six stars..

This is our second visit to Yesler84. Our first visit was fantastic and we left a glorified review. This second visit was quite different. the food was fine but the service was terrible. We waited a long time between the appetizers and the entrees. The dessert also took a very long time to be served. In addition, we got tricked and did not see that the service charge was included and we added a other $32 dollars to our server Hunter. We regret having done that as this server did a very bad job and was a big part of our disappointment. This restaurant is a hit and miss.

Amazing food and service! Everything is made to the perfection. We hesitated coming because of the location but so glad we came

Excellent and beautiful atmosphere. Service is impeccable. Smart. Attentive conversation.
The appetizers are innovative and intriguing. A menu I would try one of everything with impunity. My go to place in pioneer square.

What a magical birthday experience. It was my first visit to 84 Yesler and we looked at condos nearby on our drive home because we would love to be closer to this gorgeous restaurant.
From the gracious welcome we received when we walked in and our first round of delectable cocktails to the brilliant wine pairing and inspired rhubarb dessert the delights never stopped. You can tell everyone at 84 Yestler is a passionate professional who isn’t afraid to have some fun!
My boyfriend and I shared chefs tantalizing tasting menu as well as the lobster pasta and steak. Every bite was better than the last and Justin and friends ensured our glasses were never empty and everyone was quite warm and accommodating.
Thank you for this unforgettable night. As a flight attendant and an avid travel I’ve eaten all over the world and this little restaurant in my hometown will shine brightly in my food memory :-)

I really really wanted to love this place, but there were just a few details that made our experience just a bit underwhelming.
My parents were in town visiting, and I wanted to treat them to somewhere nice. This place had great reviews, so I decided to give it a try. We got into the area early, and we passed by the restaurant while walking around and saw that the restaurant wasn't very busy. Figured they had recently opened and decided to go in to see if we could get seated early even though our reservation wasn't for another hour and a half. The staff was incredibly friendly, and I believe maybe the owner was out in front greetings guests. Super warm and nice. They seated us early and it seemed like all of the staff stopped to welcome us which was really nice.
We ordered some drinks. The cocktail I got was really a really pretty purple, but that's about it. The drink tasted pretty watered down, but maybe I ordered the wrong thing so let it slide and got an old fashioned after, which was solid.
The food itself was just okay. We got the tasting menu, but noticed we were probably the only ones that did. There were just details that made us a bit skeptical about the whole experience. My mom's scallop was gritty and had sand in it. I pointed it out to a waiter to let them know, and he said okay. Then my moonfish had a fish scale in it which I pointed out to a different member of the staff who seemed surprised but again didn't say anything about it. No apologies or anything. The pasta seemed a tad undercooked as it had more of a bite and really little chew, but maybe that's how it was supposed to be. The chestnut filling was nice though. Also, I understand that some of the dishes are meant to be cold, but I felt like none came out hot which I expected from the scallop and braised beef. The only dish I actually thought was really great and would want again was the dessert. Portions were smaller but what I'd expect from a higher end restaurant. Plating was nice.
The service was great at first, but seemed a little awkward. We had maybe 3 different members of staff serving and waiting on us. Different people explained the dishes. I think one asked if my drink was okay, but I don't remember them ever asking us if we actually liked the food. Also, my parents did not like that our waiter did not come by to say bye and someone quietly said thank you as we left, which was a bit disappointing compared to the wonderful welcome at the beginning of the night.
Overall, I ended up spending over $700 on dinner and drinks for 3. Food was just okay, and service which was wonderful at first kind of let us down at the end as the place got busier....at that price point, I guess I just expected a little bit more.
Cady
Hunter is PHENOMENAL. He is a wonderful server here and also is a sommelier by training with a WEALTH of knowledge and wisdom. We learned so much and had such a fun night here solely because of him, he’s great! Also the food was good with some great gluten free pasta options :-)

UPDATE: I rarely update a review and when I do it’s usually to correct a minor typo.
My husband and I revisited 84 Yesler today, two months after our last visit. We had an exceptional, noteworthy time. Some guests in front of us had an episode at their table. It was pretty bad - something you wouldn’t expect at a nice place like this. They handled the incident with grace and we went on with our evening.
Later, we found that the manager comped a considerable amount from our bill due to the incident. We appreciated the gesture so much but have never had such a generous response from a manager. This is the type of service that keeps people coming back. We never asked for anything and even argued about how much was discounted from the bill. Whether or not they did this, we would have gladly returned. We will continue to rave to family and friends about this place. Well done, 84 Yesler!
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Fantastic dining experience. Service was impeccable and food was creative, well balanced, and portions were perfect. The foie gras appetizer, smoked octopus appetizer, and crab pappardelle pasta were the biggest highlights for us. When I get really excited at a restaurant I over indulge and keep ordering and that is exactly what happened tonight! I’m hoping this place continues to do well as Pioneer Square slowly comes back to life. We cannot wait to return with our friends.
Only small note - and I only mention this because it is easily fixed and happened twice - there were two occasions where the individual bringing us our cocktail, and then later our entrees, got the items switched between us. Super minor considering how incredible other service elements were. But, for an establishment like this it is something that should be attended to.

Excellent food with great presentation and flavor. Service was highly attentive. Beautiful interriors with an open kitchen. Would recommend!

Heard about 84 yesler when I was looking up facebook for good steak tartare and YES the tartare is incredible.
Overall the food is very unique and tasty. I really enjoyed the mushroom agnolotti as well as the parmesan churros.
Their almond cake is super delicious as well and above all the service is awesome. Will definitely go back
Elisa Yip (EFORELISA)
Excellent culinary experience, from the service to the food....even my picky 9yo tried everything! Chef Sean went above and beyond to make us and the kid feel extra special!
Rosie Guarino
Only complaint is the smell of the oil. It smells like fried food but that’s totally not what they serve. The food and service is excellent.

We had a top notch experience at 84 yesler. From the service to the taste and quality of the food, everything was spotless and smooth. The tasting menu was memorable and heavenly delicious! Applause to the kitchen team! They have open kitchen as well, so you can see the hardworking chefs preparing for your mouth watering meals. We will be back again!
Jessica Pellegrini
Absolutely phenomenal restaurant. The food and service were both top notch. The kitchen was really impressive to watch (it's an open concept restaurant) they work like a well oiled machine together. We had a vegetarian tasting menu and every course was outstanding. Highly recommend this spot.

Our family has visited Seattle many times and this was, by far, our best meal in Seattle ever. Every dish we ordered was a work of culinary art - beautiful to behold, refined and outstanding in taste and texture. The service was first class and the ambience was just right- elegant but not stuffy. Highly recommended!
derek smith
So good! The attention to detail in everything they do from the moment they open the door till the moment the you leave is what makes this place special. Run don't walk!
Kris Baker
Quite honestly the best meal I can remember. Six friends and I went to 84 Yesler for a double birthday celebration and experienced the chef's tasting menu. Literally every single bite of food was phenomenal! There were a couple of people in our group that weren't completely sold on doing the tasting menu after reading the description, but during and after the meal all of us just kept talking about how amazing everything tasted! We left there feeling happy, full and completely satisfied - not overstuffed. The service was fantastic and the open kitchen concept was super cool. I can not recommend this place enough - if you are debating where to go for a fabulous meal, GO HERE!
James Diego
The service, presentation and atmosphere are all great but the food was a little to bland and undercooked. The salmon was slimy and lacked a fresh taste to it. The puree it is served on top of was lacking flavor. The lobster ravioli were just ok. The best part of the meal was the broth the lobster ravioli is served in. Drinks were all very good and tasted fantastic. For the price I really wish the food was better.
Sean Dagley
This has been on my list for quite some time and we've just never made it happen but after last night we will be back many many times!
The experience from the beginning was absolutely fantastic and the staff definitely go above and beyond to make your meal incredible the entire time.
I cannot say enough good things about our time at 84 Yesler.
JB Fenix
Superb balance of flavors and textures. Solid service. Subtle atmosphere.

THE restaurant of all of Seattle at the moment!
We had such an amazing experience last night. The tasting menu was the most delicious meal I've had in all of Seattle. The wine pairing was spot on. Every dish that came out was beautifully presented and the wine brought out flavors perfectly.
I loved how each course had different textures and flavors that were so fresh. It was inventive where you know the Chef has thoughtfully prepared each course to make it special. There was not one that completely stood out because it was all equally exquisite. You normally don't see that with a tasting menu, especially with perfect wine to compliment.
The value here is amazing. You will not find another tasting menu experience that compares.
The ambiance of this restaurant is beautiful, very romantic with well spaced tables. We felt extremely safe during these COVID times.
Service was excellent and enhanced our experience. Chef came out and introduced himself too. Definitely a 5* and more experience.

What can I say?! Simply amazing, fabulous and spectacular! I wish we had such a fine dining restaurant back home. The food was divine, tasty, made in house and fresh! The staff was friendly and attentive and knew everything about the menus and were eager to assist in choices. They even made no hassle over my tree nut allergy. Will definitely be coming back!
Siddhant Bahadur
Food is good but for a tasting menu at $125 pp, the quality could have been better.
We loved the foie gras, the noodles, the smoked octopus.
The main dish, the fish was badly cooked, and was too dry. The desert (a white chocolate mouse) was also okay.
Richa Dalal
Food and ambience was good. Dungeness crab papadelle was flavorful. They also have nice Dessert options

I was skeptical when booking a reservation because I had to put down a $25 deposit per person and that was a first. But it’s worth it. The dining room is intimate with an open kitchen and the food was AMAZING. The salmon tartare was divine and I had the most heavenly crab pasta with herbed pappardelle they made in-house. The service was officious and welcoming. Definitely go here for a date when you want to impress or if you’re celebrating something special.

Oh, lordy, lordy, how have I been coming out to Seattle for the last 15 years and not known about this place? It was an utterly sublime gustatory experience. My husband and daughter and I shared the ceviche appetizer with coconut cream and chive oil - dear lord, it was delicate and savory and I could have made a meal of it by itself. My daughter and I both had the papardelle with lemon butter sauce and Dungeness crab - we both simply devoured it. My husband will tell you how much I despise tarragon, but this sauce was light and creamy and the tarragon was perfect. The homemade pasta enclosed herbs between each strand and was beautifully al dente. My husband had the salmon and cleaned his plate as well. Service was top notch - attentive and well-paced. Cocktails were divine. I most certainly will return!
Susan LeMay
Loved the vibe of this restaurant. The food and presentation were outstanding along with the excellent service.

Exceptional. One of the best meals I've had in years. Everything about this restaurant is spot on. I tend to worry when reviews are too high because it never seems to live up to the hype but this was the rare occurrence where everything exceeded my expectations.
The service was great. Very professional and attentive staff. Never had to wait on water or removal of plates/fresh cutlery. They were always close but never in the way.
The food is outstanding. I never thought I'd say the best thing I ate was the carrots but I can't stop thinking about them! The milk bread, the burrata with the king crab corn relish, the mussels, all were phenomenal. To finish off the meal with the almond cake was a real treat as well.
I am so sad I don't live in Seattle! If I did I would be here once a month!
Justin Varghese
Easily one of the best meals of my life. Immaculate presentation, attentive service, and most important of all, astoundingly delicious!
We had the Octopus "Bacon", Fettuccini, Gnocchi, and Olive Oil Cake. Each dish was nothing short of stellar, with the Olive Oil Cake in particular being a delightful dessert surprise.
Will be back!

The food is amazing here and the service is one of a kind. I recommend trying this place out when you have a chance. They have an excellent menu and the prices are reasonable.

Went on a couples date here, and were blown away. It’s high end, but warm and friendly. I love the open kitchen, the menu is the perfect size, not too many choices, not too little. The service is on point. You’ll never run dry on drinks and wonder when they’re coming. Their server knew the menu and details inside and out. The food was amazing, the presentation worthy of a magazin feature, , and we got a visit from the chef at the end to discuss the experience. This place is a hit!

❤️Wow! Absolutely the most delicious dinner I have had in a very long time. My first visit was a fabulous birthday celebration orchestrated by Mr. Takahashi and his wonderful staff! Incredible creative menu, amazing skilled staff that works as a team to provide an excellent dining experience that is both comfortable and professional! The menu items are delicately and meticulously prepared to take full advantage of diverse tastes that are bursting with flavors that tickle your tastebuds with unusual, unique style. Very appealing decor. Parking was very easy, street spaces and garages available close by. I suggest you put this on your bucket list and hurry in to take advantage of this fantastic full service amazing restaurant!

We had an amazing takeout experience here that really stood out above and beyond what we have had elsewhere. The staff was unbelievably friendly and professional and somehow made the pickup experience feel special. The delivery boxes even felt special and the presentation in the packages was outstanding. We had the dinner for two with steak and pasta plus several other pastas, the meatball sandwich, and a few other odds and ends. Nothing was short of wonderful and the steak in particular was just perfect and wonderfully prepared.
The space itself was gorgeous and looked appropriately spaced and safe. What really amazed though was to have a takeout experience that felt just as special as going in. Go support this wonderful restaurant, they are on top of their game.

So happy we celebrated our wedding anniversary here. They take service, hospitality and food seriously. Lovely interior and lively ambience, well executed timing of courses, great wine list and amazing food, 84 Yesler is now one of my favorite restaurants. A gem to have in historic Pioneer Square. (Oh, and a stone’s throw from the waterfront.)
Brooke Dowling
Wow. This place was amazing!! Definitely on par with any NY restaurant. Everything was extremely well executed. service was top-notch. They also have a tasting menu.
We order oysters, beef tarter(really nicely done), mussels, mushroom agnolotti (best dish) and lobster taglialini. Brownies /strawberry and almond cake.
Very nice ambiance.
Thank you to Chef and Sam the owner. We had a great experience and wonderful evening out.

Hands down the best restaurant I've been to in the United States. Phenomenal wait staff, the head chief came out to talk to us, and every single dish and cocktail was one of the best things I've ever tasted. Well done, y'all!

This place is spectacular. Really great time with delicious food. Don't sleep on this place!

Great food and great service. I enjoyed an old fashioned along side a seasonal seared tuna dish. Everything we had was absolutely delicious and I would gladly recommend dining here to any of my friends. We also had to rambunctious children with us and the staff was very accommodating.

7/10/20: Popped in spontaneously as my partner and I were walking past. We ended up splurging and enjoyed a wonderful meal. Staff was friendly, attentive, and prompt. The dishes were simple yet flavorful. Easily the top two dishes I'd recommend are the octopus bacon and steak tartare. Halibut was also good, cooked perfectly.
Looking forward to popping in again soon.

Pick-up during Covid-19 was easy and felt very safe. Great staff! This was my family's first time at 84 Yesler, so we tried a range of items from the menu. The highlights were the blue fin tuna (the mushrooms were AMAZING), gnocchi, and meatball (though we all wanted some crusty bread to sop up the extra marinara). The flavor for all dishes was bold.
Marie Quasius
Wow! I’ve had this restaurant on my list for a while. My partner and I have been doing regular takeout dinner dates during the pandemic - it’s actually been a treat to experience so many restaurants that are hard to get into or don’t normally do takeout. 84 Yesler catapaulted to the upper echelon of our list - the flavors in the braised short rib were fascinating and I had no idea that hazelnuts and black cod and citrus would mesh so well. The takeout presentation was lovely too, and I really appreciated being able to park right in front to pick up, and that my food was all ready to go, right on time. Staff was super friendly as well. We can’t wait to go back! Maybe someday we’ll get to eat inside - the decor was beautiful and serene.

Best meal my husband and I have ever had! Wonderful atmosphere and super friendly and professional staff. Loved that the chef personally presented some of the meals. An excellent restaurant! Well done, 84 Yesler!

This was absolutely an amazing experience! My husband and I ordered a bunch of appetizers and two different pastas! We are both hard to please but this was epic! Our summer dessert was out of this world! Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience. We will be back next time we’re in town!

Not only is this fine restaurant located in the most authentic historic neighborhood of Seattle’s Pioneer Square . It is also a hidden gem! The service, ambiance and YES every plate is very well thought out for a very rememberable experience each time.
Would highly recommend it for a special date night or events!

I would definitely not characterize this as an Italian restaurant. This restaurant defies categorization. The tasting menu is an experience not to be missed and utilizes locally sourced ingredients. From start to finish, perfect in every way. It was a great bookend to our stay in Seattle.

Fantastic restaurant in an interesting part of the city. Great service, excellent food, drinks, and dessert. Beef tartar, salmon tartar, carrot appetizer, cucumber salad, octopus - everything tasted amazing. Highly recommended.

A delightful restaurant with a sublime Italian and Japanese flair. Enjoyed all the dishes (Bluefin Tuna, Pumpkin Tortelli, and the Beef Tartare) but the Parmesan Churros are definitely not to be missed! The service was fantastic with the highlight being a visit by Takahashi-san. Highly recommended.

This is easily the best restaurant in Seattle. The staff is just as incredible as the food. You will never forget a meal here.

84 Yesler is the perfect place to go for dinner and drinks on a Friday night! We took a ferry across Puget Sound and walked up to this fabulous restaurant. The atmosphere was fun and the food was outstanding. Rock Fish, Halibut, Steak Tartare.. yes please!

We had an enjoyable evening at the brand new 84 Yesler.
The menu options are very good, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious.
The hospitality provided is faultless and all the staff makes you feel really welcome.
The place is well ventilated, and all sorts of precautions to keep guests and staff safe are in place.
We will definitely be back.

Our dinner was delicious. To-go packaging was secure and travelled well. There was a glitch when we did our online order and Michael went above and beyond to correct it. Highly recommend.

I will not try to tell you that I know everything there is to know about good food, but I can say with certainty that I have the education to quantify what is world class. Chef Applin and his team are doing things that are hard to find anywhere. The success they are having is not just pure talent but teamwork from the back to the front. The entire team is bought into what the owner and chef are creating, and it is amazing to be a part of.
We are not just fans of 84 Yesler, we are and will be followers of them for years to come!!
Out of this world: Food, Service, Ambiance, and overall Excellence will make a night here something to remember always!
Thank you and your entire team for allowing us to be a part of your show.
Cheers!!!

Just ate dinner and am so happy we stopped in. The service and food were impeccable. The open kitchen is spotless. We went with some of the server’s recommendations and thoroughly enjoyed everything. Help this place survive Covid by eating in or getting take out - it’s worth it!

Beautiful restaurant with amazing service and wonderful food! Mr. Takahashi was in the restaurant and made me feel like an honored guest in his home. Thank you for a wonderful experience, our first venture into a restaurant in a long time was very special!

The service was excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly and delicious. The mushroom agnolotti was just okay. It was way too fatty and gamey. Just my opinion...

Creative food, excellent service.

Chef Shawn takes the biggest flavors, and infuses them in a delicate palette explosion. It's hard to explain what he creates, he's of my favorite Chefs in Seattle.

They have great pasta dishes, but the portions are a bit too small for that price.

I was fortunate enough to be staying across the street from this lovely place and I will remember this meal for years to come. My server was incredibly warm and welcoming and gave great recommendations. I tried the smoked octopus and fines herbs pappardelle. Everything was interesting, perfectly prepared, and delicious.
