The waffles had that nice crispy outside and soft and steamy inside that is very desirable in a waffle, and they were sweet but with a buttermilk type flavor that really gave it a good balance. The whipped cream and chocolate sauce also tasted like the good stuff, and not like corners were cut. The chicken was breaded with a thin crispy coating which was different from regular American chicken but very tasty. Fries were nicely seasoned, and the garlic aioli in particular was an excellent sauce. Price point wise I don't know that I'd be able to eat here every day but it's definitely a great local splurge I would recommend to anyone who enjoys waffles, chicken, or fries.

Delicious local spot! It was our first time here. We love the food and will def be back! The owner was great with some local Hispanic kids that came to hang out. It was cute to see that local kids come to hang out with the owner and his employees.

I have been here many times and it’s always so good. This is the first time I have been here and saw they offered a burger. The burger came with a curry sauce or a mayo based sauce. I choose the mayo based sauce and it was surprisingly good. The fries were amazing as usual. The waffles are amazing and a must have if you have never been before.

They are always fast and fresh. The food is very good. We live close so we will come here every few weeks. They have a nice outdoor seating are in the summer. There is limited indoor seating. Mango sticky rice is good.

Holy moly the waffles were🤌🏻 *chefs kiss* phenomenal. We had to wait for a bit, but it was totally worth it! Cream fraishe was sweet, but not that sweet. The people who worked there were so friendly and kind.

The waffles are really good. A little expensive though. This location has a nice open atmosphere to it. Sometimes that atmosphere is ominously overshadowed by the police circling around Pioneer Park, which is just across the street from this location. This part of Salt Lake has interesting architecture & I really like it.

We tried the location at the SLC airport and it was all very tasty! We had never eaten here before and we were just flying through so figured we'd try something new. The Ricky burger was delicious& the chicken tenders were just alright, nothing special. I also ordered the Rhapsody waffle & it was sweet, crispy and the raspberries were fresh. We were charged for an additional sauce when they forgot our ketchup but the sauces we tried were all very good.

While visiting Salt lake City, we found this outdoor breakfast place around downtown and decided to give it a try. Crepes were slightly on sweeter side, so if you have sweet tooth you will enjoy Cinnamonster. Presentation for Chicken and waffle was unique. I personally enjoyed Chicken sandwich and fries. Definitely place visiting.

I already can’t wait to go back!! We tried their Pig on a Cloud (Crème fraiche, bacon strips, salted caramel sauce), Chicken & Waffle (Crème fraiche, chicken tenders, organic maple syrup), and cinnamonster (Cinnamon waffle, vanilla bean ice cream, banana, nutella). My favorite was the chicken&waffle but honestly feels like you can’t go wrong. I will say the Pig on a Cloud was a little too rich for me but again, can’t wait to go back.

Delicious little hole in the wall restaurant. Ate there both Friday and Saturday. They have a few tables outside but there is no indoor dining (way too small). Food is great though. Loved the lamb sausage and chicken and waffles and homemade creme fraiche.

The downtown one is the original location. Totally love this place, it's been a favorite for years. Never disappoints. We had several waffles, cinnamonsters, chicken and waffles, wafflemonsters, and machine gun sandwiches. Everything tasted amazing. Loved it!

Food was unique and interesting. Was definitely in neat culinary experience. Visited it with my daughter as one of her favorite places. Literally just a small looking building in the middle of things but produced some nice dishes. Had a special treat while we were there as there were a bunch of sparrows that were very friendly and would even eat out of her hand.

Great food and friendly staff. Very small place with no indoor seating available. Hand the Machinegun Sandwich and the Flemish Beer Braised Stew. Very good. The fries are amazing. The best fresh cut fries I have ever had. I would go there just for the fries. Next time I'll try the waffles.

While visiting Salt Lake we found this place and I really wanted to try it out, the service was great and the owner was super sweet. Reminded me of my time in Europe! The waffles were delicious. I tried to go back but unfortunately due to scheduling couldn’t make it but definitely recommend it.

Unfriendly service not very welcoming or caring it was our first time there. Waffles were hard on bottom, edges, and top in a way it was hard for the knives to cut through. Frites were delicious!

The food was delicious and the owner was so kind! We live out of state and we always go out of our way to visit Bruges. The owner made it a point to mention that the new items on the menu were not "Belgian" like the original waffles, but we're mere crowd pleasers. So of course we compromised and got both. The chicken and waffles were yummy, but we fell in love with that burger! The sauce was a unique, the burger was juicy, and the bun was fresh! I'll definitely be having that again. And of course, the waffle was got for dessert was delicious as always. We can't wait to go bsck.

Amazing food! Some of the best fries I have ever had and the dipping sauces are to die for. The chocolate dipped Belgium waffle was soft and delicious, I will definitely make a trip back out to SLC for more!

I must echo what others have said: you must try the Frites. I have went in and out of Caputos next door at least 50 times and noticed this cool looking waffle stand but never bothered to stop. Having (finally) stopped and eaten their frites, with the Andouile sauce, I want to go back in time and smack myself for not going here earlier! The frites are probably the best tasting with best texture and crispiness of any I have had in my LIFE. They are truly "all that" naked, with ketchup, or with the andouille sauce. If you appreciate good frites this is a must stop. I can't speak to their waffles, but the fries are worth a trip across town. HIGHLY recommended. 👌

Staff is always friendly and professional. Store is clean. However, there is no dine in at this location. During cold months, the Sugarhouse location is ideal if you want to eat inside.

Their waffles are amazing! I always have a hard time choosing because everything is so good. Also their savory curry sausage brings back memories of my time in Europe. We were there during COVID and they were taking a lot of precautions. I felt very safe ordering and using their outdoor seating.

This was a cute little stop on our roadtrip! The staff was very friendly and helpful while we were trying to sort out our order. The food was delicious and well worth the price. Imported ingredients? Yes. Incredible service? Yes. Best waffles in the Continental US? YES! Incredible food, delicious. The burger was good, the fries exceptional, and the waffles..literally the best waffles I have ever had. 100% recommend. It's nice eating outside the restaurant, the city is beautiful, and the birds are nice company. They serve Jaritos and Coke by the bottle with the real deal sugar cane.

I got the bacon and egg waffle and was frankly very underwhelmed. It had basically cafeteria style ultra-thin bacon, and super generic flavored jack cheese (think like walmart brand) and it was served with this completely awful tableware that you could barely pick up food with. The waffle itself was delicious, the ingredients on top were absolute mediocre to low end. Overall super unimpressed

These waffles are very different than normal waffles, they are made out of a dough. You can get them with all sorts of different toppings. We got one savory and one sweet. They were both really good and we were glad we stopped into this little restaurant to have breakfast. The owner was there and he was very friendly and takes great pride in his product. It is a little spendy, but they use really good ingredients and they are tasty! You have to try it at least once!

Authentic Belgian food in the middle of Salt Lake City. I especially enjoyed the fry sauce, which tasted exactly like it does in Belgium. I was quite happy with my experience here and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for an authentic dining experience.

This place was a very pleasant surprise. Great sweet and savory options. Great dough based waffles, great frites, great service, great sauces, and great meats. Totally pleased with my meal. Pleasant outdoor location. There will be homeless people in the park across the street, but the outdoor seating at the location felt very safe and very comfortable.

Ah, this was a delicious end to a long day. The service was fast and the food was not only good, but also cute. We got the cinnamonster and waffle monster. They had little faces made out of the toppings. The vanilla bean ice cream was super good, but the waffles were just stellar.

Holy wow! I brought my 6 year old here last weekend and we had the best day EVER because we started our day here. We got up early and drove 30 mins into salt lake to eat them and we were not disappointed at all. "These waffles are to die for, mom!!" In the words of my son. And he is not wrong. The waffle on it's own is tasty, but all the toppings are ridiculously delicious wow. We cannot wait to come back! Service was wonderful, place was clean and food was incredible!!

The taste was not all that great and was not worth the price they ask for it. but I had the waffle and chicken it was very cute the way they decorate it but I didn't really care for the taste I think what threw it off was the taste of the cream and syrup. Overall cute little shop

Excellent waffles and fries! Their waffles somehow stay quite crispy even when drenched in syrup and their creme fraiche. Fries are pretty good (though the "best in Utah" claim may be a bit over exaggerated), but their sauces are incredible! Very little seating in the restaurant itself, but plenty of outdoor seating, so keep that in mind. Employees are personable and informative: very willing to give recommendations to those who haven't been in before. Definitely worth a stop.

Good spot to go for a tasty treat. We ordered the s’mores and the cinnamonster. When they are busy, it does take some time for them to whip out the waffles. There’s a good amount of outdoor seating, but you can only go into the spot one at a time due to the small indoor space.

I got the machine gun sandwich and it was delicious! Be sure to bring your own ketchup though if you like having ketchup with your French fries. For a place that literally has frites in its name, I couldn’t believe they were charging $0.60 per ketchup packet. If you don’t have any cash you have to buy two minimum.

Well spent morning in Belgium !! Saying that. This place offers some really exquisite food. Loved their desert and main dish. Machine gun sounds appalling for a moment but until you see it and wow loved the time. Got to meet the owner so down to earth and chill person straight from Belgium. Such a cute little place with beautiful sidewalk seating! The waffle itself was so unique and tasty, but I got mine with spicy lamb sausage and a fried egg. The sausage was nice and the egg was the perfect complement. I only wish it had a splash of country gravy or some Belgian equivalent. The food was excellent, and it was matched with perfect service. I highly recommend this place for the experience, the food, and the service.

Incredible waffles. The gentleman behind the counter was very courteous. Was very aware of peanut allergy and tree nut allergies. I do not eat whip cream but their homemade whip cream is amazing. Seating outside was clean. Quiet area across from a park. Highly recommended.

I was really excited to try this place out after seeing all the pictures, and it's episode on Man v Food. I went with the savory popular favorite, Machine Gun sando. The fries are fantastic, dipped in their fry sauce elevate them even more. The sausage was not my favorite, it had a taste of spices I could just not get on board with. The service was fast and friendly, loved enjoying a nice outdoor lunch on their sidewalk seating.

What a great find near our hotel. We had dessert waffles after a long day of skiing. Went out for a walk and the smell of the fresh waffles drew us in. Teenager loved the choices and hubby felt like a kid again with a s’more waffle. Coffee was great also. Locally owned and family run. Great taste of Belgium. Highly recommend

This place is amazing! Definatly the best burger I think I've ever eatin! Fresh made Frites! Outdoor seating is available as the building itself is very small. The 2 guys that wrre working were extremly patient with my son, he struggles making decisions and changes his mind 100 times. The patience was highly appreciated!

I have come here for 9 years at least once a year and it never disappoints. Authentic Belgian waffles, real frites with authentic Belge sauces (Andalouse, Aioili, & Samurai). Even if you haven’t been to Belgium or France, you’ll love the food. Owner is working usually and is very friendly.

Ever since the Brugesmobile visited my school a couple years back, I have been in completely in love with Bruges! Their waffles taste incridibly fresh and yummy everyday. Likewise, the fries are just incomparable to anywhere else's especially when paired with the delicious mayos. I have yet to try the sandwiches except the machine gun which was amazing! I've gone to the Sugarhouse location many times but decided to give thw downtown a go. We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff who were patient with my very indecisive brother. All the food was fresh and tasted great, as always, and I ordered my personal favorite, the pig on a cloud. However, due to the small size of this location, my party of 4 had yo go outside to eat but it really didnt detract from thw overall experience. Now that I live in Texas, I have to come to Bruges every time I visit!

Omg. This place is amazing! Would give it 10 stars if I could. It’s real food cooked by real people. Met the shop owner and he was just lovely. Authentic Belgian waffle experience. The caramelized crust on the waffles was perfect and the crème fraiche was SO yummy. My only regret is that I helped my child eat first so she ate some of my waffle after she had finished hers.

Great value for money. Waffles look small but are denser than normal and very filling. The lamb sausages were great too (had a Mediterranean taste to it). The staff is efficient and helpful. Also, they use sustainable to go boxes and utensils.

Nightmare City for a person with allergies. Out of all the oils available they pick some cheap soybean oil. Unfortunately, for anyone that has a soybean allergy (one of the top allergies) a few fries come with a side of epipen.

I will DEFINITELY be coming back to this tiny, scrumptious place! The cheeky, quirky art and cultural references are charming, the staff is quietly cheerful, the service prompt, and I can hardly talk about the delicious food!! Their waffles have the right amount of softness with a perfect little crunch from the sugar in the dough. I had the Pig on a Cloud, which sold me on their salted caramel sauce forever. Also, they have the best fries around for a reason! I usually like mine more crispy, but dipped in their Asian and ginger sauce, they were heavenly! Note that if you plan to stay, most of the limited seating is outdoors. What a great place!!!

My wife and I stayed in SLC the week before Christmas and this was our favorite spot for breakfast. This quaint location made it feel like you had traveled to another part of the world. The hot chocolate was delicious and warmed our hands in the crisp air. The outdoor seating was surrounded by tiny finches that would hop right up to you. The waffles were perfecty crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. And to top it off, the staff was friendly! Can't recommend this place highly enough.

I know they had a sandwich on one of the tv shows that doesn't give them the right to put prices threw the roof. I am a chef myself and kinda shocked that they that the bacon 🥓 I got was pre cooked. Food is excellent. Everyone enjoyed their food and agreed we should go back again. Cashier appeared irritated with my son taking about 10-15 seconds on saying his order despite there being no customers behind us and only one customer waiting before us. Everyone has an off day so perhaps that was the case with the cashier. It wouldn't prevent us from returning to Bruges. It would be great if the staff could be more patient with all types of customers. We are all out here... just doing our best, to be our best. Hesitant, but still 5 stars.

This place was amazing!!! The owner is the nicest, most friendly person! He makes you feel like you've been friends for years even though you met a minute before. The waffles are THE BEST! Fresh ingredients and fruit. The frites are perfect. I think they're double fried, so they are extra crispy on the outside and soft inside. We also had the hot chocolate which was tasty. This place will become our family tradition to go visit every time we're in Salt Lake City.

Eh is the best I can say about this. It was fine chicken but I make better chicken at home. The waffles were a bit dry and the frites are a bit disappointing. Also don't love that people have to pay like 0.50 a cup per extra sauce. Cause they don't give you enough. and the Large portion, is just insane too insane. I never really complain about too big portions but this place can do it. It gets a 3 for huge portion sizes and the staff was really friendly when I went.

This was my first time coming to this place. I ordered online and chose pick-up vs delivery. I had a hard time finding the place because it's a small establishment it blended right in with the surrounding buildings. But now that I know where it is I won't have this problem again. :) I ordered the Rhapsody & waffle with strawberries & creme. It was sooo good! Ive never had a waffle like it before. It was thick and dense (everything you think a waffle shouldn't be)! It was perfect. I haven't tried anything else because the waffles are just so darn good! I'd definitely recommend this place.

Waffles were too sweet for me - the syrup is inside the batter. I opted for the egg and sausage waffle, which wasn't bad, but I really wanted a more savory option. Regular coffee wasn't good - perhaps their specialty offerings are better. Very small place with maybe 5-6 counter stools inside for seating. More seating outside when weather's nice. Staff was very friendly. No bathroom inside.

Five star rating applies to both their waffles and fries. Best waffles I have ever tasted. Texture has just the right crispness and chew. It also has a yeasty flavor that I cannot easily replicate at home. The fries are the best in the area (The good people of Belgium claim they were the first to create the French fry). Dipping sauces are a bit different but tasty. The only thing I wish they had (yes, I know this is not a Belgium thing) was a good hamburger. Of course if they did I would likely be at their door every day and weigh 300 pounds.

The creme fraiche and bacon were amazing, but the salted caramel might have been too much for me. The other options look appetizing as well and the waffles they make are really delicious.

Every time we have gone we have received excellent customer service. Their fries and waffles are delicious. They have quite the variety of sauces to choose from for the fries. The waffles are definitely nice and thick. They have little sugar packets in them which makes the waffles sweeter. I prefer to get a plain waffle because I find it a little too rich to add the cream on top. I highly recommend going to Bruges Waffles and Frites!

If you love carefully prepared hipster food, you will love Bruges Waffles and Fries. I didn't try their best in Utah fries, but I did enjoy the pig on a cloud waffle 🐽 /🌥 = happiness. Impressed by the attention to detail and quality of the presentation. Recommended getting 2 items. The $7.50 waffle didn't cut it for this growing boy.

The food is absolutely amazing. It reminded me of my experiences abroad. Authentic and tasty, I had the chance to have an apple pie waffle and a pig on a cloud. Both really good and rich. I shared with someone else, so if you want to try out more flavors, I suggest to bring a friend. :) The frites were good and the sauces were even better. Such variety and they are a hundred times better than the usual ketchup/fry sauce. Lastly, I tried the hot chocolate and it's amazing. Nothing like the chocolate syrup mixes. It's made from real Belgian chocolate and it's super satisfying. Wonderful place.

The "favorite waffle" which has strawberries and cream is extremely delicious. The waffle has a crispy texture and soft interior. The slight sweetness of the waffle compliments the strawberries and cream just perfectly. I also had the machine gun which was extremely good as well. The fries are cooked perfectly. They are crispy and the curry sauce adds a perfect level of flavor to the sandwich. Highly recommend the food and the people are extremely friendly.

This place is SO delicious! I've tried quite a few of the waffle combination possibilities and they're all incredible. I'm not a big sandwich person, so I haven't tried the sub. It does look pretty tempting though. The owner has been there nearly every time I've been. He is always cheery and has a great sense of humor. There's limited indoor seating, but they have quite a few tables and chairs set up outside of the sidewalk. Additionally, they have patio seating upstairs.

I literally can not say enough good things about the waffles here. Ever since I visited Bruges, Belgium a few years ago, I have been obsessed with the waffles. I am so happy to have found the real deal in the US! These waffles are made from dough instead of batter and they have sugar in them. I prefer the plain waffle, as I feel it's plenty sweet and for me, just right. There are many other options, and the Frites are delicious as well. I go to either the Sugar House or Downtown location ever single the I visit Salt Lake City.

This is a lovely little hole-in-the-wall location! I had heard about this place from a co-worker. One fall afternoon I strolled from work, passed the park, passed the local market and walked right into this small and cozy waffle and fries! There is a bar stool section and few outdoor tables. It will get crowded fast, but in a good way. There were two people manning the fort. One person was taking orders, the other working on the previous customer. Once the order was taken, the two immediately started cracking in the food. There was a bit of a wait with only 1 person ahead of me but I had time. They have a surprising selection with the BEST fries I had ever had. Also, with unique sauces. Be warned, it's a carb fest but that's exactly what you'd come here for. Without disappointment, too! They have a novelty meal that is waffles topped with cream and chicken in the shape of a chicken. I would love to bring my niece and nephew here in the spring. They'd love it. Also, the coffee?? ☕ Are you kidding me? So delicious! It's small, but don't let that stop you from checking it out!

I'm a huge fan of Belgian Waffles and the waffle I had here was surely one of the best I've had. The waffle was made to order with a fresh, heavy whipped cream, raspberries and chocolate sauce. Highly recommended for breakfast, or a sweet treat. The place is small with a short supply of seating in the colder months. There's plenty of seating outside when the weather's warmer.

If you are one to enjoy unique dipping sauces (like the ones they have in Belgium), these guys have them! We tried the curry sauce recently and thought it was uniquely tasteful. The only reason for the 4 star review instead of 5 is because of the price. You definitely pay a premium for great taste!

A lot of people love Waffle Love, but I prefer Bruges. The waffles are way better! They have a slight sweetness and a wonderful crunch, and the cream on top is great. This particular Bruges, however, is cramped. There's only seating inside for about 5 people at a small bar. Ideally, you visit this location when the weather is nice and easy your waffles on the roof or sidewalk.

The service was great. Guys were friendly. The food was sub par to be so expensive. Bacon was the precooked strips you get from Sam's club. Very thin with 3 small pieces. The waffle was not even a full waffle. It was half of a full one with the corners missing. 2 chicken strips. One meal was 12 dollars and the other 15. The fries were soggy and not fully cooked. Waffle was ok. The cinnamon waffle was ok a little burned. Would I give it a second change maybe at the bigger location but for 15 dollars we had to eat else where to get full. Looked like a kids meal. The egg was fine. Also, the menu did not say links vs patties on the meat. The location was very small and cramped. The food was 2 stars but the service got it a 3.

Such a good place!! Came here without knowing that it was featured on man vs food. Ordered the machine gun and a s'mores waffle. The person taking our order I believe was the owner, and he is so nice! Great customer service from the employees too. The food was SOO GOOD! they double fry their fries. Let me repeat, DOUBLE FRY THEIR FRIES. The lamb sausages, PERFECT. The dipping sauce, we only tried their most popular that came with the dish, but after tasting that one, we NEED to come back to try the rest! So we made sure to pick up a punch card! No seating inside really, so like other reviews, this is a grab and go kind of place. Specially when its chilly out. But that won't stop us from coming here! We will happily eat in our cars for these.

A little bit overpriced too ($12 for "large" fries). Also don't do takeout, it'll be cold by the time you get home (even if it's just 10 minutes away).

I wish I had stopped by here earlier. I confess that breakfast food items are my favorite type of food. I could eat French Toast or Waffles every day of the week... especially if the waffles taste like Bruges waffles! I started at the top of the menu with their most popular waffle, the Liege Vanilla Waffle. I loved everything about it. I love strawberries and there were several sliced strawberries on top. Who doesn't like a little whipped cream right? And the waffle had a great doughy texture that normally I wouldn't be a fan of but the flavor was incredible. I'm tempted to sneak in after closing and snag the recipe because it really is the best waffle I've ever had. We also got a side of fries with one of their sauces out of the refrigerator. I'm not sure how fries go with a sweet waffle like the Liege Vanilla Waffle but they were still good fries. I think I'd rather them at lunch with a Machine Gun sandwich instead. I think the owner (Pierre) stopped in while we were there and joked with the employees. He seemed to be very happy even though it was late in the evening and undoubtedly a long work day. You can't really consider this place a "hole in the wall" even though it's not much bigger than that. This part of town has some fancy little restaurants that I would eat at much more often if I lived closer. I've heard good things about their neighboring Thai restaurant so if you go with a group that doesn't like waffles, tell them to snag some Thai and you can eat out on the street together.

My wife who has been to SLC before demanded that we come here on our way home and I begrudgingly went along with it. WOW am I glad we did! Everything and I mean everything was so good! Food was great, space was tight, and service was mediocre. Went with my wife and two small daughters (ages 4 and 2). Five stars is for the food. We shared a chicken & waffle, a Rhapsody (raspberries & chocolate), and a small fries with fry sauce. Everything was amazing. The space was very cramped, but we made it work. The biggest complaint I would have is regarding the staff, and it's a minor complaint. Before we walked in, I saw both staff sitting together on the floor behind the register. They saw us and were standing before we opened the door. When we were waiting for our food, the two girls (who apparently are roommates) were having a mildly heated argument about something work related (about miscommunication regarding a shift change). They seemed young and immature, and again it was a minor complaint. But a magical experience would have been if staff smiled, were friendly, and didn't discuss items not relevant to their customers within earshot of their customers.

It's pretty expensive but absolutely worth it! Their fries are incredible, beef stew is better and when you eat the waffles, you feel like you're in heaven. It's incredible. I have a separate "piggy bank" set aside for money for Brugges and my friends and I go the last day of school before summer and winter breaks, to finish either the year or the school year off strong. 12/10 recommend

Holy molly! When I heard their fries are award winning, I had to try them and I was not disappointed! I snagged a large size of fries and 3 different dipping sauces. They where delicious and they have about 10 dipping sauces to cater to everyone's taste or just eat them plain as they taste fantastic on their own! Totally recommend grabbing a quick snack here!

Very unique "Belgium fast food joint and Waffle House." Famous for the "machine gun" sandwich, Ricky burger, fries, dipping sauces (they drench everything in sauce), and waffles. The shop is very small with limited seating (we almost walked right past it). It's fun for a casual lunch or dinner date. I loved how novel the food was. But won't be everyone's cup of tea.

Surprising, unusual, unique, brilliant. Cheap and delicious, and I love the low key atmosphere. This is unpretentious, exceptionally well done Belgian style street food. Go for the Liege - it's one of the lighter items, but don't think it will be simple - you'll find freshly fried dough sweetened and seasoned to perfection. For those days when you want to bludgeon yourself with a rich, heavy meal, you can't go wrong with the incomparable Machine Gun. Enjoy.

This is a great place to go when there is something going on nearby such as the Farmer's market or the Twilight Concert Series. Plan to sit outside either in front or above the restaurant. The waffles are great but they can be a bit dry so make sure to get toppings like the creme, chocolate sauce, a juicy fruit. The frites are good too. Try the variety of sauces.

The owner was very friendly, the portion of frites was plentiful- it exceeded my expectations of a "small" and the owner gave me another dipping sauce to try complimentary to go with the sauce I had order (one was sweet and the other was spicy), both were very good and the fries were served hot and they were delicious! Almost a five star review. Just one problem. I'm not sure what a lethal dose of salt is, but I'm certain I've have almost 90% of that. The delicious, delicious fries were terribly over-salted. This is a place I always come to visit when I'm in Salt Lake. Having lived in Belgium, it really does have the authentic flavors. The fries are the twice-fried friets that I came to know and love there. The Machine Gun is a great sandwich, the waffles are great. If there was a complaint, it would be the lack of indoor seating, though the seating above the shop is quite enjoyable in nice weather.

However, if you want a unique, local eatery with outdoor seating and bold flavors, this is the place for you. Whether you're in the mood for a waffle, or a good burger and fries, they've got you covered. They'll satisfy your sweet tooth with a variety of menu options including different base waffle flavors and a variety of fresh fruits. Or you can get something savory, like the Ricky burger, my personal favorite. The frites (French fries) are deliciously crisp and they have a wide selection of delicious house made sauces; it's a must to try them all!! Delicious. We stayed in Utah for 2 days as visitors passing through but we had to come back each day for the fries and that delicious dipping sauce. Their desserts are to die for. I wish they could expand and open more stores across the U.S. The only downside is the size of this location. Its fairly small with limited seating so you may have to take it back home or to the car during fall/winter days.

Having actually experienced true Belgian frites in Belgium, I had high hopes for frites (aka fries) that have a crispy outside and soft inside. Even though their menu says they are twice fried, the frites here were nothing like the ones I got in Belgium. They were OK to good, but many of them were on the soggy side. Besides fries, I got the Belgian Dog which was very good and made up for my disappointment in the fries. They do have a wide array of dipping sauces. I was able to try 3 of them and they were all good as well. Their flavors are: Mayonnaise Fry Sauce Ranch Aioli: garlic, black pepper Greens: fresh chives & green onion Lemon-pepper-dill: fresh dill, lemon pepper Zensation: fresh ginger, asian spices Brasil: tomato paste, pineapple, curry Curry: yellow curry, spices Zango: lime zest, mango, sambal Andalouse: fresh basil & bell pepper, cayenne Samurai: fresh basil, sambal, cayenne Afterburner: fresh ginger & habanero, cayenne, sambal I would like to give them another try and hope the fries come out better.

Only planned to get one, but hearing the proprietor chatting with customers in Dutch, and his obvious interest in explaining how their waffle differs from the so-called Belgian waffle, I opted for two. We were not disappointed. Waffles were both made to order, with very fresh strawberries and cream. The texture and caramelization were exactly as I remember from traveling in Bruges.

Be prepared to spend a little bit of money but not more than it's worth. Make sure you ask for créme fraiche on your torpedo, trust me, you won't regret it.

Best french fries in Utah. Period. We often stop here after getting a sandwich at Tony Caputo's which shares the same parking lot in SLC. You can't beat their fries....even better than Five Guys fries if you can believe it and they have awesome non-ketchup Belgian--and their own takes--on sauces to dip your fries in. Because they cook to order it takes a few minutes to get your food but the taste and very hot fries are worth the wait. I frequently eat here because I LOVE french (Belgian) fries.

The only thing I ate at Bruges was the machine gun sandwich... but it has been months since that meal and I still get pleasure from thinking about it. The location didn't have enough seating which was unfortunate for us, but the weather was nice enough to spend our time sitting a bench eating outside nearby. I thought the bill was a bit expensive for just 1 sandwich, but then again I am still enjoying that meal even as I write this so it turns out that $10 for 6 months of happiness is about as good a deal as I can find. Now I just need to find someone in SLC who can buy one, then hop on a plane, and meet me at the airport in Atlanta so I can get another machine gun sandwich.

Waffles are delicious, the machine gun is OK. The service was decent. We come here a couple of times a year.

Had the machine gun sandwich. It was good but not great. A bit messy to eat. The staff was friendly. Seating inside was VERY limited, so be prepared to eat outside or eat else where. Drinks were in bottles and a bit pricey. Overall was a good experience.

The machine gun is great. However, if you are slightly concerned with the amount of garlic sauce that goes on it, I wouldn't recommend it for a lunch where you'd have to return back to work. I hired them to do the catering for my wedding and I was SO IMPRESSED! Fred and Hade were the ones who handled everything and they were amazing. They were easy to communicate with, they went to my venue before so that they could be prepared, and they were so kind and professional with my guests. I totally recommend using Bruges for your next event.

Not healthy but very tasty! If you are open minded about food I suggest the Machine Gun sandwich. I highly recommend you get the sauce on the side to keep things under control. What I love most about this location is that there are 4 great eating establishments in the same location. This includes Caputo's and Carlucci's which are some of the best in SLC. Most people miss the fact that there is more seating on the roof. Just ask the staff for directions.

The Machine Gun Sandwich is massive and very tasty! Bruges is located in a nice area of downtown SLC, and while their main offerings are sweet Belgian waffles with mounds of fresh fruit and cream as toppings, their one and only sandwich is a must-have for the not-so-sweet tooths (teeth?) out there. If you're in the area, it is definitely worth an extra stop.
