Reviews of Wara Wara Restaurant
Amazing food every time we have been in.
The specials are always over the top and worth trying. The Lobster Ramen was phenomenal! Plenty of choices for our picky 6 year old. Plan ahead for parking if you go here for dinner. We were lucky to get front row street parking. Great meal and service looking forward to coming back soon.
My wife and I were close by and we picked this spot randomly. We didn’t read any review or had any high expectations. We were pleasantly surprised. Food was very fresh and delicious! Salmon sashimi was very good and authentic to the traditional Japanese style. Chicken and waffle was amazing with the right combination of flavors. Okonomiyaki was also very delicious. This will be our new go-to spot for authentic Japanese food for sure. The price was also very reasonable! I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. The owner clearly has high standards. I would recommend anyone to stop by if you are in the area.
I always love to eat here with my family, both lunch and dinner. Always good and the food is always consistent. But today I was really disappointed in the chicken Katsu curry special. Manager was very kind over the phone and listened to me right away and even refunded me for the dish, just waiting for it to post on my card. But I think I still need to write this review just so I can put the images out there. The chicken was raw but at the same time burnt from the outside.I tried re-cooking it at home, but it was just too burnt. We will still come back though this place is still one of the best places to eat in Rhode Island, just out of character today. Good service!
I'll be honest—I had ramen seven years ago. It wasn't at all to my taste. Therefore, I hadn't visited till last Monday.
However, I was forced to go because my Japanese friends wanted to meet there for dinner.
My friend also ordered 30 hour ramen, grilled sea bass, pork burn, and takoyaki.
It turned out that they were all mouthwatering!
Particularly, the ramen was very different from what I had previously.
My server was also very polite and helpful. This restaurant currently serves PVD's greatest Japanese ramen, I'm positive of it!
Excellent all around. We had the shumai appetizer and had it half fried-half steamed on our servers suggestion, which was perfect and delicious. The pork belly bun was amazing and wowed me with the quality of the pork belly. We had miso and the duck thigh ramen and both were equally amazing in their flavors! The duck thigh came on the side which kept it crispy, very appreciated. For dessert we tried taiyaki for the first time and loved it along with the homemade ice cream. Amazing place worth visiting every chance in RI
I enjoyed the ambience in this restaurant. It’s almost as though I stepped into an izakaya in Japan. It is well decorated and spaced out. There are toys and bottles of liquor and sake spread out amongst the shelves. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable about the offerings on the menu.
I ordered the Taiwanese popcorn chicken and the 30 hour ramen for lunch. The portions were generous and the food was well presented. The Taiwanese popcorn chicken was a bit under seasoned compared to traditionally prepared Taiwanese popcorn chicken but it was made up with mustard and mayo dipping sauces. The 30 hour ramen was unique, again, not made in an authentic Japanese way, but nevertheless, it had good flavors and presentation.
Pleasant MeaL! VeGeTarian Ramen, Chili Garlic Edamame, Sake, and House Salad.
The VegeTarian Ramen had the right amount of spice! Tasty and SATisfying. 👍🏾
Great bar Selection of House Made 🍹 CockTails.
Great gluten free options and the food was so great! The servers were really nice and thoughtful about food sensitivities! Crispy chicken skin appetizer was my favorite 10:10
Amazingly delicious! My son and I had Tan Tan Men, spicy ground pork ramen. We both LOVED it!
Ramen was very flavorful but could have been warmer. Noodles were ok. Service was prompt and polite. Prices were reasonable and there is a full bar. Unisex bathroom available too.
Great service and atmosphere, something to look at and talk about. It could get loud on a busy night. Their ramen has great natural flavors, might be slightly better with different noodles. Try their special lobster and tomato dish, very unique. They also have a full bar btw. So it's an all around place for hanging out.
I really enjoy coming here! The decor is somewhat kitchy, and makes for a funky atmosphere. However, the *food* is to die for! Their ramen selection is excellent and delicious; some of the best I've had. While you might have to walk a bit to find a parking space on the busy street, it's worth it to visit here. Try their lunch specials, too!
Very fun and interesting foods. I normally hate small plates, they lower your testosterone 😤 but I enjoy the multitude of sea food, chicken and vegetarian dishes here. Sure a woman once walked out of a date with me here... But I stayed to try the green tea lava cake and it was worth it! …
Fantastic in every sense of the word.
The atmosphere is great and not overly formal.
The staff is excellent and service is quick.
Most of all the food is phenomenal!
We have tried a good chunk of the Ramen options (thin and udon varieties) and have ordered a good portion of the tapas menu.
The 30 hour broth is something special. though if you are not a seafood fan, the Shio Chicken is a great option as well.
Give yourself a treat and Cozy up to a big bowl of ramen and a few plates of goodies! Its worth it.
If they ever have a 30 hour Chashu ramen option on special, you can bet ill be there as many times as I can while it runs.
We biked over here for dinner during the Hope St Temporary Trail. The food was excellent! They have very good vegan and vegetarian options here. The eggplant appetizer was delicious.
I will say we were disappointed to be greeted at the door by a sign opposing the bike trail. This felt quite offputting and unwelcoming after just having rode our bikes here. I really hope Wara Wara will reconsider their position on bikes and will support a safer Hope St for everyone.
Visiting from out of town, fell IN LOVE with the tempura green beans. Best green beans and also best tempura of my life. The tempura batter is translucent, there were shaved garlic chips and hot honey with miso drizzle… I will be back!
Fun, unique atmosphere. Good is amazing and never disappointed. Last night tried their lobster ramen and green tea lava cake. The ramen was delicious, flavorful and you get a good amount of lobster meat. The green tea lava cake was different but amazing as well. Everything was delicious and the service was great.
Not often you'll find a place that serves delicious Ramen at reasonable prices like Wara Wara does. I'm often town between the ramen, or their excellent vegetable curry udon!
They have brought an irresistible charm to Hope street in the form of a somewhat relaxed and moody atmospheric dining in experience. Don't be fooled by the serious look though, Wara Wara is run by friendly wait staff, cooks, and a chef who is always running out new and exciting dishes to try.
Don't miss out on Wara Wara!
Early dinner and still vary bustling atmosphere, seaweed salad and crunchy cauliflower were awsome starters. Miso and chicken Ramen perfect, the 30 hour Ramen had amazing broth but the lack of actual seafood was disappointing
Still a must visit.
Went with a friend unplanned and with no expectations. Definitely 5/5 for taste and drinks. Ordered Hakka eggplant with yakisoba Chicken noodles and a kimchi margarita. Definitely recommend
Nice place. The calamari are delicious, the pork belly and veggie buns were great as well! First place we have had chicken skin - sweet but good! Service is excellent!
The food is consistent and good here. Good presentation and delicious. It is definitely a comfort food type of place that you can count on.
This place was absolutely amazing. Wow I haven’t had a restaurant experience like this maybe ever in my life. This is the finest cuisine in all of Providence for sure. Will definitely be back for many years to come. Do your soul a favor and come here and eat. The atmosphere and staff are incredible. Kudos to the chef and owner
I stopped by on a whim to get some ramen. IT WAS FABULOUS! BEST RAMEN I EVER HAD. PERFECTLY COOKED AND THE FAVOR WAS TJE BEST EVER! I had some ginger lemonade to that was also delicious!
The food here is yummy and the eclectic decor is amazing!
To drink:
I had a Nitro Cold Brew Tea - a Oolong tea brewed velvety smooth and my husband had the Nitro Milk Stout which was smooth, creamy and not at all bitter -- so yummy!
To start:
We had oysters, served with lemons and two different things to top them with: some brown liquid (maybe a vinegar base or soy sauce?) and some citrus flaky ice thing with bits of chili pepper. The sauces made a good combo, but I couldn't taste the peppers and would have like just a touch of spice, maybe even horseradish.
To eat:
It was my husband's first time here and he had the Tan Tan Miso. I had the Miso Ramen with bok choy. He loved his ramen and already has a list of people he's planning on bringing here 😄
I've eaten ramen here many times and I have always been very satisfied and today was no exception, everything was good except for the pork's meat to fat ratio in the Miso Ramen; I don't eat fat and the pieces were 90-100% fat. I'm only bringing it up because it has happened to me before that the pieces are mostly fat, but today was the first time that some of the pieces were 100% fat.
Although I'm hoping they'll begin making cuts of pork with more meat on it, I'm certain that we'll be back here soon again.
Always enjoy my meal at wara wara. Great sake selection and I love the ramen. Fried chicken skins… amazing. Also always friendly and attentive servers
Great service from all of the staff here! I have eaten here three times now and each time the food has been amazing. If you go, get the brussel sprouts and Chinese eggplant because it’s a multi-layered flavor explosion in your mouth! The pork belly buns are delightful. I have tried the duck breast ramen and the seafood ramen—both excellent. They even split it for my boyfriend and I to share. Tonight my boyfriend had to try the salty duck ice cream and the black garlic ice cream. The salty duck was made with duck fat and it tasted like salted caramel—I liked this because it tasted extra rich! The black garlic one was a subtle and mildly sweet ice cream, with a layer of garlic flavor. I liked it because of the coffee base. Go and eat here because the food is great, the staff is attentive, and the atmosphere is chic, yet comfortable.
Better than most traditional Japanese ramen
My favorite ramen in Providence as well.
No where else nearby even compares.
Edit: every single time I've come here, I've been equally as impressed as the last. I have tried more and more menu items and this is my favorite restaurant in RI
Great place. The food is delicious and sometime there is a twist like the ramen noodle hamburger buns with crispy lotus stem chips. Simple dishes like stir fry bok choy is well seasoned and delicious. Will be back for more.
We stopped in here for brunch. They serve their full menu as well during brunch hours. Pork buns are a must here. Miso ramen needed some salt, but overall great spot.
We’ve had the vegetable ramen 30+ times over the past few years. Always excellent. Check take out before leaving as they mess up a lot.
The steamed bums and calamari was Delicious. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.
The food wasn't terrible but it also wasn't great, it was really just the price point because I've had better for less.
Ramen and their pork belly bun is great as always! Try their green tea lava cake, so goood!
I like the food, it tastes really great! But not cheap ~
Fantastic Ramen! Their miso ramen is my favorite and I adore them blooming tea they do!
Food had great flavors, decor was nice and prices were very reasonable. my wife and I had 2 small appetizers and 2 different ramen bowls for 40 bucks
One of the best ramen spots in providence. I love the vibes in the restaurant, and they are working really hard. One server is waiting all the tables in house right now AND bartending, and everything is coming out in great timing, and the drinks are hitting the spot. If youre on hope street and you like asian food theres nowhere else to go.
Outgoing bartender who was very knowledgeable about the menu. Hidden gem for lunch with a great combination of Asian cuisine plus drinks and a raw bar. Win! Win! Quirky fun decor.
D E L I C I O U S ! This place is so damn good. EVERYTHING I got was delicious. The ramen is good enough to share for 2 people, the sausage was DELICIOUS, and so was the pork belly! 10/10 recommend. The atmosphere is chill and welcoming.
The food was great! But I’m disappointed by the petition they had on some tables that were going against Hope street’s urban trail. I would not have gone to the restaurant if the temporary trail wasn’t there.
You guys can help make PVD a better place!
Saw ramen on the sign, ended up getting the ramen burger. It was good but hard to eat. It was good because there was no bun, and it was ramen instead. Like I said, it was good but hard to eat. As good as it was I really wanted a traditional ramen bowl. Will have to come back and try it again!
So good. Quality ingredients, well prepared, with creative recipes. The roast duck ramen is wonderful! Good service and nice craft beer selections, especially their Hitochino beers.
Cozy atmosphere with great ramen, apps and drinks! I love coming here, the food never disappoints :-)
This restaurant is a true gem... always delicious! And the food is consistently good...one of my favorites in Providence...
Really enjoy this place! The ramen is very good, they have a nice selection of beers, whiskeys, and sake. The staff are always very pleasant and helpful.
I love that they have some veggie options but they should invest in a water filter. The fried cauliflower was very poorly executed. Ive heard the crispy kale salad is amazing, I'll try that next time. The ramen and udon were ok.
Good customer service, STRONG drinks!! Yummy noodles!
This place seems to be going downhill. It used to be our fave ramen place but last time we went, the soup was too salty (for both my boyfriend's and mine, so two different kinds) and the noodles overcooked. We did mention this to the waitress who offered to give us a new order for takeout, but who wants ramen to go? Thank goodness there is another great ramen place in Providence, otherwise I would have to make trips to Boston!
Best takeout ramen I’ve had in my life!
My nephew and I meet up for dinner every month or so and we try different restaurants. Well, we were here last night and I have to say we were VERY happy with the food, service and atmosphere. We had the Veggie Buns appetizer. My nephew had the Tan Tan ramen and I had the 30 Hours ramen. They were delicious and the portions were generous. We will be back.
Teriyaki salon over black rice, and vegan curry upon, the service was awesome and was well informed about their menu!
After the closing of Ken’s Ramen in 2018, I was looking for a good place to get ramen in Providence. Wara Wara takes the cake and their ramen is phenomenal. The pork belly is super delicious and pairs perfectly with the broth. I’d recommend the miso ramen if you’re coming here but there are quite a few options to pick from on the menu.
I really like this restaurant. It has a nice outdoor seating area too.
Service a little lacking when I have eaten there, but the food is always excellent. They do a great job at take out too!
Loved the atmosphere and friendly staff, food looks good as well. Need more vegetarian options though
Loved the ramen and pork belly buns. Absolutely delicious.
I had the salmon teriyaki bento lunch. The salmon was perfectly seared and delicious. The wife had the Okonomiyaki pancake, which was large and full of seafood and awesome. We also had some fried calamari for an appetizer also great. Service was friendly and attentive.
Always love it! The wife and I order the 30 hour ramen and the ramen burger. A perfect pair!
I’ve been to some of the finest restaurants and this place is on the same level. Literally everything was perfect and mouth watering. All of the staff were so kind and catering; especially our server, Ariella, who was so sweet and informative on everything we asked about. Amazing amazing amazing !!
A hip restaurant and bar with great Japanese food, that isn't sushi. Their ramen options were delicious, I got the duck ramen and not only was it delicious but the portions were great too. The decorations are fun to look at while you wait for your food abd they have a nice bar too.
This restaurant is a favorite for my family and I. We come here as often as we can, and the food is always consistent. Good quality, ethically sourced, and authentic. However, I was surprised by the service yesterday. We sat down around 4:13 pm, and we waited for a good 27 minutes until I got up, and reminded the hostess that no waiter has come to our table yet. Immediately afterwards a nice server came and took our order. It was strange, either a lack of communication or something else. They werent busy, and they were well staffed, about 4 servers and a hostess. The food was still delicious, and we left a good tip regardless. Just thought I'd mention this though. Also...could y'all make the calamari a bigger portion 😂 it's just so good.
Great service and atmosphere, amazing food! Cannot wait to come back!
A longtime local favorite of mine. The ramen is incredible, and the menu offers a delicious assortment of dishes; pork belly buns, calamari, hanger steak, I could go on and on! The staff is very friendly and always helpful. Top notch!
The ambiance is always pleasant and comfortable. Low lighting, smaller dining area and a light atmosphere contribute to low key casual dining. Staff is friendly and helpful with questions and suggestions. Plenty of different drink options that are different and culturally authentic. Overall ramen was good and appetizers were diverse. I would definitely recommend getting the fried chicken skin appetizer.
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food. The service was great. The food was a reasonable price.
You can get Sake flights too! (Which we did!) All of it was great.
Clean bathroom to top it all off.
Absolutely delicious ramen with a great atmosphere! The ramen was perfect and had a delicious, savory broth, as well as being a very big portion, and all of our appetizers and drinks were amazing!
Do you have unkind thoughts about Brussels sprouts? I was never a real fan until I tried this restaurant’s appetizer sprouts. I have gone mostly for lunch. Prices are reasonable and food is excellent. Their staff is quiet, efficient and spread just enough “nice” to make your dining experience worthwhile. Oh try the miso soup with the floating hard boiled egg. I know sounds creepy but the seafood version is wonderful.
An absolutely wonderful dining experience start to finish! A genuinely lovely staff & beautiful food in a warm atmosphere. Will be back soon!
Tan tan men ramen is best around , can't recommend them enough
Amazing ramen, always a delight to have after a stressful night of work. Take out is fantastic, but the food is SO MUCH more worth it to have at the restaurant, as the quality is wicked fresh, deserving to have ASAP. Some recommendations include…
- pork belly bun
- shumai
- takoyaki
- miso ramen
- duck thigh ramen
Great food! Thought I knew about noodles till I went here. Try the duck. Love the staff's personality.
Chili/garlic edamame, miso Ramen soups...I could go on and on...Absolutely amazing! #musttry
Amazing food. Very quick service even at a busy time on Saturday night.
Had the lobster ramen special...amazing. couldn't help but finish the whole thing. The green tea lava cake was also outstanding...and gluten free.
Great service, friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend.
Fantastic! Highly recommended, all 3 courses were devine! Service was exceptional!
Good. Just not my usual food. Went with friends.
Best service ever, they actually care about their customers! As we were walking towards the restaurant, we noticed a gentleman with crutches and carrying items in his hands. He was muttering his frustration while trying to get into his car, trying to balance his crutches and what looked to be a to-go bag and box. We then noticed on the ground, there was a dropped ramen to-go bowl poured out on the ground, still steaming from being freshly made on this cold night. We felt so bad for the gentleman's demise. When we arrived inside the restaurant, we were promptly greeted by a waitstaff and was told to sit anywhere we'd like. I informed him what we saw outside, and he immediately rushed outside to attend to the gentleman before he drove away. He ended up remaking the gentleman's dinner, hand delivering it to his car, and also gave us a discount for informing them of their customer's situation as a token of appreciation. They went above and beyond, and it shows they value their customers. The lobster buns are the best we've ever had (special menu item) and their ramen is the perfect meal on a cold winter night!
The food was average.
Indoor seating.
Street parking.
I have to be honest. I just picked a random spot to go for lunch and this place was absolutely amazing! Staff were so friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and the drinks were perfect. Will be back.
The garlic and sweet chilli edamame was the best I ever had. So fresh and flavorful. The salmon I ordered was also very flavorful. I'm looking forward to going back, so much of the menu sounded delicious.
Love this place! Favorite spot for ramen in the area, but the pork belly buns and crispy chicken skin…oh my goodness so yummy! Good sake selection and the service is always friendly!
Great atmosphere, our server was wonderful, very attentive, she was always there to fill our water and serve us, but not hovering or intruding in conversation. The ramen was amazing and the flank steak was cooked perfectly. You could seriously tell the food was FRESH. Fresh produce, fresh meats and ingredients. It was a great experience, would definitely recommend to others.
The ramen was so good! I had never had ramen before except a cheap packaged ramen back in middle school and I didn't like it. I came here and it was incredible AND all the apps we tried were incredible too (fried chicken skins, gyoza)
We loved our experience! This place is a Hidden Gem! Our waiter was so friendly and so helpful with great recommendations for food and drinks. We both tried some new sake and whiskey drinks. We ate the tapas: gyoza & cauliflower. Both amazing! For dinner we split a pork belly ramen bowl in a 30 hour broth that had layer upon layer of flavor. It was incredible! For dessert we had a chocolate marshmallow Michigan with homemade whipped cream. Yum! I should have taken pictures, but just go! You won't be disappointed!
It wars a great atmosphere. Didn't have to wait long for table. But a little long for food which was 👌. But not amazing. Don't regret going and maybe will be back …
The food is amazing. Tapas can be shared so you get to try more dishes.
The ramen dishes are big so can be split in two for a good portion.
Crispy cauliflower is amazing!!
Pork buns are a must
Calamari is awesome to share for starter
If a restaurant closes at 9pm, you’d expect to be able to order one bowl of ramen at 8:25. After looking forward to tantan all day and driving out of my way, I was told at 8:25 that they’re kitchen was closed. If your kitchen closes at 8 PLEASE update your business hours accordingly.
One of my favorite local places. Beautiful and interesting decor, and ever rotating menu. Overall satisfying prices, portions, and flavor.
Great tapas and I enjoyed an excellent cocktail as well. Decent spread of options on their menu. Plenty of choices for anyone with food restrictions as well. Our service was friendly, attentive, and quick. As of this writing, they also have a good system of indoor and outdoor seating and Covid-19 safety measures.
Loved it!!! Beat my expectations. Love the saki options. The food and service were phenomenal. Looking forward to my next visit.
This place is exemplary. At first I wasn't impressed with the size of the tapas... but then I had the Japanese curry, and oh my... it was heavenly. The first completely vegan dish I've ever thoroughly enjoyed and praised (, and I'm definitely an omnivore. I downed two 8 oz. steaks just this morning). I will most certainly be coming back here again. Perfect for vegetarians and vegans, and anyone willing to try something different.
Everything was super fresh and staff was very accommodating! Great place!
Wonderful tapas style but with Japanese and Asian fusion food. The calamari is fantastic. The popcorn chicken is also great. My wife's favorite, Basil and Eggplant is one of the best ones we have had in the city—perhaps even "the" best one. Strongly recommend this place.
Pork Belly Buns, Brussels Sprouts and Tan Tan AMAZING!
Had a very good time here! Ramen was to die for! Our server was also very friendly and well informed on the menu. We went for lunch, they have some great deals! Also there is shopping around here, great spot. Can't wait to go back!
Always great! Cant recommend them enough!
Good friendly service on a Friday afternoon. Wasn't so pack so service was quick. Great tasting food altho I felt the Shumai was a bit expensive for how little we got.
SO GOOD!!! Got the noodles and the dish was colorful & delicious ! Will visit again
The food and service here is really great. This is about an hour from us and we'd have no problem making the trip for a great meal. The ramen is top notch. Try the blooming flower tea if that's your thing. Very tasty.
Probably the best Ramin in the state. I always forget how amazing it is.
They seated us against the windows which provides for a great people watching experience. The ramen is always delicious and my partner and I tried the Bok Choy medley which I also recommend, bitter, spicy but so tasty!
This is by far the best ramen around. Good price, nice atmosphere, great lunch specials, even easy to get to. My boyfriend and I drive the 40 minutes from home on a regular basis because we love this place so much. Highly recommended.
Absolutely Fresh ingredients, superb flavor combinations, large portions, it was excellent. I went with a friend and we split 5 Tapas and all of them are larger than we expected and we had too much food. I would go back to this place again and again it was an excellent meal the staff wer prompt courteous welcoming, and the place itself is just interesting to look at all different kinds of light fixtures and each different area and it was a feast visually and culinary!
Always awesome food and drink options, indoor or outdoor dining are both great. Great ramen, love the veg udon noodles, and the eggplant appetizer is the best!
Great atmosphere! Nostalgic feels. Sake flight was delicious and had me wanting to order my favorite of the 3. Ordered pork buns and pork ramen and duck ramen. The duck broth was out of this world! Great serving size on the soups. Can see where things get pricey quick but quality and variety win here.
The appetizers were a bit too expensive for the portion sizes they give, but the ramen was delicious and had a unique flavor with tomato soup broth (a special they were serving that day), and the service was also very good. They even have good soup spoons, where it can hinge onto the edge of the bowl and not slip into the soup! My mom, who was there with me, didn't like her ramen quite as much as we both liked mine though, I think her noodles were slightly stiffer/ less cooked through than she wanted.
This was our first time here and a place that we’ve had on our list for a while now. Everything was delicious and the service was wonderful. Our server always made sure we had water and was very friendly. The crispy chicken skin was my favorite. We will be back to try some of the other dishes!
This place is awesome. Have had tapas and ramen bowls on two occasions. Super yummy. Also, was able to purchase some hitachino beer glasses. So happy with this place. Shout out to the staff.
Not really authentic Japanese more Hawaiian\Japanese hipster style fare.. not bad overall, I had one of their Ramen and Korean Popcorn Chicken small sides, my family had a noodle dish, a seaweed based salad and a sea bass tapas. Over all the food quality was good but the fusion was at times peculiar (Lobster bake ice cream anyone?) I would go back though.
I've been here three times and I'm coming back here again tonight. Each time has been with different people. The wait staff is friendly. The environment is definitely very casual so don't worry about dressing a certain way. The ramen here is excellent, full of flavor, and though the menu is a little small when it comes to food it is huge and very filling. In fact one time I went with my friends there was someone who couldn't afford the food and we were in front of the cooks. He got a meal on the house! Will always recommend this spot and will always come back when I'm craving Ramen
The food is amazing. We got pork belly buns, ramen, and chicken katsu curry. The staff is really friendly and accommodating.
I am always happy when I'm here! Sunlit space, such nice owners and staff, and such delicious offerings. I am thoroughly loving the Bento Box these days. The tempura beans alone make it a dreamy. Fun cocktails too. A really lovely gem on Hope Street.
Been here a few times before and during Covid-19. The food and service are both really good and really consistent. During Covid-19, they have done a good job keeping up with safety and cleaning. Felt very comfortable eating here.
Having gone here on a couple of occasions, I am happy to report that this is one of my favorite restaurants in Providence. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the food is excellent even if service can be a bit slow when they are busy. I love their beef tapas and will happily keep coming back.
Great neighborhood Japanese-fusion place that serves tapas style dishes as well as some very decent Ramen. Cozy atmosphere with a great bar (I recommend eating at the bar if you're alone or with a plus one).
Everything at Wara Wara was great! The calamari, pork belly bun, the brussel sprouts, shrimp dumplings and ramen were amazing. The service was super friendly and attentive. I will definitely come here again :)
Had the ramen and it was fantastic! Can get pretty busy so make a reservation just to be safe.
Been here a few times. At first I was excited and it was delicious. Usually get spicy vegetable ramen and pork belly buns. The food is not consistent with quality though. The last time it was bland and our server was unattentive to anything but her phone and co-workers. I may go again but if it's not better will find a better ramen spot.
Amazing service and food! The duck ramen is a must! I love the decor as well!
Was looking for a good ramen spot in Providence. Also, admitting my Raven bar is high so was not expecting much. The ramen did not disappoint and Wara Wara is now the go-to for ramen locally!
Hot sake on a cold day and then follow it with an amazing ramen. This is great place to enjoy with friends or by yourself.
Great food and atmosphere. They have the best edamame I've ever had, and before this place I didn't even realize it could vary in quality! The vegetarian noodles we got were also very tasty.
A group of us went in lastnight for dinner. We had drinks, split a bunch of apps and ordered entrees. The drinks, the food and the service were all impeccable! I will definitely go back! Every single thing we ordered was absolutely delicious, delicious, delicious!!!♥️
I love this place. The food is really good, and it always seems fresh and well made. Nothing tastes like it's been frozen or pre-packaged. The mochi waffle with chicken is incredible, a really excellent blend of flavours. The bento boxes are great, and I can't get enough of the duck thigh ramen. I highly recommend Wara Wara
Wonderful fusion ramen restaurant. It’s not your normal average run of the mill ramen that you would get in Japan. There is a mixture of Taiwanese flavor mixed into most of the dishes.
Prices are good, especially if you want to double the noodles, which is only $2 more.
Yes the flavors are a bit toned down, made for the American palate, but I’m pretty sure that you can have the boost the flavor up to make it more authentic. My wife, for example, loves to have the broth boiling hot. The last time we went, we asked if they could make the much hotter, and it took a few minutes longer, but the broth was scalding, the way she likes it.
So if you worry about not enjoying it, ask and ye shall (most likely) receive.
My only complaint would be about parking, but it’s the location. Not the owners fault. Definitely one of my favorites in RI.
Love this place! I'm starting to be come a regular once a day every week. Out of all the Raman noodles I've tried in RI. Wara Wara is definitely up there. Give it a shot you won't be disappointed.
Have yet to find something I don't like, the crispy chicken skin app is so good it's a crime not to order it. Ramen portions are massive a so yummy. Lastly the kids menu is the best, and a great value, my daughter always gets seabas and healthy compared to her choices off most other kids menu's.
Best takoyaki and pork bun in town. Had a lot of veggie options which are equally good.
The 30 hour ramen here is the best I've had in Providence, comparable in quality to a lot of the best ramen in Boston. I've tried about 6-7 different small plates and the okonomiyaki (savory pancake) they have for brunch and they were absolutely delicious, except for the mushrooms and manchego which were okay. If I get dessert, I always get the tayaki. I know I should try something different but it's so incredibly good I can't quit it. This is easily one of the best and most consistent restaurants in Providence.
Eating should be fun, right?! Up until today, the most fun place to eat in PVD was Chez Pascal. However, just down the street, Warawara is the #1 most fun place for dinner in Providence. Asian style tapas and ramen bar with an insane selection of Japanese whiskey. Reminiscent of Hojoko and Myers + Chang in Boston, Warawara gives Providence a dining experience that is beyond special. Besides Persimmon, it is the easiest 5-star rating I've given since moving to the city. Eat Here!!!!
Awesome ambience, good ramen at a good price.
If you're looking for an authentic Asian fusion restaurant, this is definitely the place for you! Located right in the middle of the city, Wara Wara is a phenomenal place to visit for a delicious lunch.

Hands down the best ramen that I have had in Providence! Don’t even bother going to other places. Awesome desserts and drinks to top off the evening. This place will be a mainstay for years to come, so hop on the train.
The food is consistently fine. They have gluten-free options clearly marked, and handle them in a clean manner. And, they have fish shaped pancakes to die!
My boyfriend and I enjoy eating out at different places often and we went here for the first time this evening and it was amazing! My boyfriend is also a cook and he enjoyed every dish we had. He had the crisp kale salad and I ordered the lemongrass sausage for our apps. He ordered the spicy ramen and I had the miso ramen for our entrees. Everything exceeded our expectations. Packed with so many flavors! We will be returning soon and will also recommend this restaurant to family and friends. Try this place, you won't be disappointed.
I tired ramen for the first time here and it was great. I had the Japanese curry with Udon noodles and I absolutley loved it! They even had tofu in the curry and for someone who doesn't like tofu, I din't mind eating it. I tried their tapas before and although they taste delicious, the serving size is small for the price.
Very cool place, the staff was very friendly and helpful for our group who hadn't had much experience in Japanese cuisine.
Update November 2021:
I have to say, the dessert here is unexpectedly outstanding.
This is my favorite restaurant in Providence. Everything is delicious and creative. It's also got a very cool vibe
Love this little place! Interesting and delicious tapas-sized selections, suitable for various pallets. I enjoy introducing people to this place, and I especially make it a point to bring my out-of-town guests there.
Best option on Hope Street, got the lunch Salmon Bento Box - it was delicious. Great vibes and great service.
Unbelievable. Delicious. Sat at bar and had great service. Reasonably priced. Great beer and sake selection. Had poke bowl special, pork bun and guacamole. Everything fantastic.
Great Sunday brunch last weekend, including my kimchi Bloody Mary. Very limited menu however, and not a super exciting atmosphere. I'm not sure why this place isn't getting more patrons in the door. Beer selection is fun and interesting, and there's certainly enough good food to choose from.
I love this place !! Delicious tea, food and deserts. I am addicted to their seaweed salad and veggie buns. The rice pudding is vegan and absolutely delicious.
Good food and great prices.
Food was amazing, service was not too attentive
We stopped in on a whim. The eclectic nature of the place really caught my eye. If you go there, take in all the nic Nacs. They will not disappoint. The food was epic. I had some really spicy Pho. My wife had the ribs. I think she tried to stab me when I wanted to try them. They were that good.
I always enjoy my time at WaraWara. Great staff and delicious food. The specials are always awesome. The drink selection is great. Tonight I had lobster buns and soft shell crab with a whiskey flight.
Dad was in Miriam hospital. Sis and I walked there and lunch was unbelievable. 12 dollar Bento Box was amazing, nice touch with the fresh fruit. And salad dressing should be packaged and sold. Two thumbs up and a snap.
Consistently awesome food and service. Love the Tuna poke bowl special and Shio Ramen. I have yet to be disappointed with anything I've ordered from the menu here. I've been a frequent patron here for some years, it will never get old.
Tapas were fantastic - we had Brussels sprouts and pork buns. Was expecting a lot from the ramen after that, and it was very good, but not exceptional. Good service and drinks
Good Sake , Had A Few Apps .. Costumer Service Was Great
My lifesaver through the pandemic. Definitely get the Dan Dan Noodles, but the other ramen options are good too. Brussels sprout and cauliflower appetizers are great, so is the pork belly bun.
Just tried this place for the first time and it was good. I got the 30 hr ramen and it was great i just wish it had less broth and more noodles. I suggest you put tabasco in it cause it definitely tastes better. The dish that was really great was the lotus root poutine. Absolutely incredible but the portion couldve been bigger. Great service.
Wonderful
The food is amazing, The Ramen they serve is also. The service well it seems they may have been understaffed on the Friday Night we went. I also think the girl we had was new. Aside from that we will be back for the Japanese Tapas!
I would give the food a 3.5 to a four. We had the hakka eggplant (a little oily), crispy brussel sprouts(a little salty), edemame, veggie bun, and flank steak. The food needs a little more discipline and it would all be a 4. It is very good. The night of my visit the service was discombobulated so i am hoping that it is just a one night thing. They missed 2 of the orders and were not proactive on alot of the refills.
Still i recommend going.
Amazing vibe. Yakisoba and vegetable ramen were incredible. Gluten free and vegan options available. Huge portions! The spicy miso broth will leave you wanting more... will be back.
The food was very expensive and not what I expected at all. The broth was very thin and I'm used to the thicker broths at the other ramen places. The chicken was rubbery and not very good. One of the only redeeming qualities about this establishment was the decor.
Love the chicken skin and the hangar steak plates
Our first time here and I am so glad we came! The service is to beat and the food was AMAZING! They were very accommodating to our needs and the server made sure that we had water. I highly recommend coming!
Cool place! We have enjoyed it so far! Very different and very interesting and that is what this town loves! They have very good fresh oysters and very good ramen! A great addition to Hope Street!
Good flavor but the taste is tailored to the local, exceptionally sweet. Better than average ramen but definitely not authentic Japanese
Excellent Miso Ramen. Pork Belly was perfect, and the broth was so rich and flavorful. Very happy customer here!
Holy moly! What a treat!!! My fave Ramen in Providence! Great presentation and ambiance! A+!
The location was really nice, and so was the inside dining area. The food, for first time ramen eaters, was also really really good. Price wise it was very manageable. If you are looking for something outside of the routine I would suggest Wara Wara!
Stopped here for lunch while driving through the Providence area. Had a excellent meal, a combination of small plates (Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken, Yellowtail Crudo and Pork Buns) as well as a Duck Thigh Confit Ramen which was very creative and delicious. Would definitely come back for a quick meal and drink, or cozy up to that ramen again on a cold day.
Excellent Asian fusion food in a funky garage-chic space. Good cocktails and beer list, too, with a super-friendly staff. Definitely a repeat
The miso ramen is amazing. So many great flavors and a nice big portion for only $12. I will definitely be going back and recommend this place to everyone.
This place is absolutely the best. Can't go wrong with anything you order. Seasonal menu is always changing and bringing new and interesting twists on traditional food.
Great spot on Hope St for tapas. Decent sized small plates (enough to share) and plenty of variety. They'll even split a Raman order for you if you ask. Duck thigh Raman and the pork belly buns were our favorites.
So far one of the best ramen i had... is place is delicuous!!
Only one or two vegan options, but the waiters are fantastic. The menu is so limited even for non-vegans. Definitely not the best hotpot/ramen houses i have tried.
Awesome food and atmosphere, had two different bento boxes with a lovely lady and both were entirely amazing
There food is always great. I just came to eat there recently which was awesome. I actually wanted to say that the first time I came to the resturant (one year ago) was with no money, I was out with my friends and they all wanted to go to Wara Wara. I told the waiter I didnt have any money for food and wasn't going to eat..... this restaurant is so kind, the owner gave me food on the house. It is a memory that I will never forget and have always told people about this awesome restuarant.
Here for the third time tonight and finally getting to this overdue review! Tonight, we came for a work team dinner, which included a 3 yr old and it was all groovy. I had a taste kf the ceviche (fresh and delish), the seasonal special of confit duck leg ramen, and the kabocha miso pie with chocolate sesame crust and a scoop of the salty duck ice cream!
The confit duck leg ramen was the real mvp. The duck leg was juicy, flavorful and tender-fall-off the bone delish. The broth was clear and mild, which helped really bring out the flavor of the duck. Noodz were the perfect amount of chew!
The kabocha miso pie with chocolate sesame crust and a scoop of the salty duck ice cream was good but more interesting than anything. The salty duck was a salted caramrl ice cream.with duck fat - very rich and sweet with a hint of savory. The kabocha (squash of sorts) miso pie was light and textured and suprisingly filling!
Protip: ask for the hot chili oil and add to ramen broth for a nice kick!
One of the rate opportunities to enjoy Japanese food in an alfresco setting. The salad was fresh and well-proportioned. The noodles were hearty.
Freaking amazing!! The Ramen burger was awesome, they use the ramen noodles as a bun...seriously try it you'll love it.
The restaurant was Awesome. I am from Atlanta Georgia and this was my first visit.
All good and very tasteful, good price too
YUM! all the Ramen options my group got were delicious looking! I got the Tan Tan Men and it was just wonderful - plan to visit many more times!
I can't wait until they have vegetable gyoza on the menu! It's 2021, people are becoming more aware that they don't have to eat the flesh of animals to enjoy seasoned food.
Best duck ramen ever.
Yummy! The Tapas are phenomenal & the quail eggs in the Ramen melt in your mouth. Great cozy atmosphere, too.
One of the best bowls of ramen around, accompanied by some very different and creative menu items. Would be a great spot for a date and walk around hope village.
Do you like authentic Japanese ramen? Visit Wara Wara! Never had authentic Japanese ramen, but always wanted to try it? Visit Wara Wara! This is the place. Enough said.
Very great interior design. Would be perfect for a date night haha. My favorite thing on the menu is the pork buns. Friendly and attentive waitstaff.
Phenomenal food! The staff is so kind and helpful.
The staff was excellent andcourteous. The food was great, too. Quick and knowledgeable service, a great spot.👍👍👍
Just about everything I’ve eaten from here is phenomenal! Very friendly staff.
Awesome food once again. Sat outside on street. Wish tables were a little bigger. But was great with people walking by with their dogs.
Cute little japanese style restaurant. Ramen is great and drinks are different and strong for the price payed. Great atmosphere and nice and attentive servers.
I highly recommend hangar steak and chicken ramen 🙂
The food is great. Make sure to get the brussel sprouts, the 30 hour ramen, and take the red rice pudding to go. Thank me later.
Great 60 hour noodles.
Quick service, good food quality, friendly staff. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun, overall a good spot to sit down and enjoy a meal. Parking can be difficult.
great traditional style Japanese food and great ramen. service was courteous and kind. Favorite food was the green tea lava cake
Really cool vibe at this establishment. The food was on point and they had a nice beer selection. We got a few dishes to share at the table and everything was amazing.
The place, waitress, and the looking of the foods are really good. However, everything is served in a small size with a below average taste and an above average price. Won't come for a second time.
When a recommendation comes threw huge. This quaint noodle house hitachino on draft extensive Japanese Whiskey selection. 30hr Ramen... like you write about. Started with Poutine a la' Wara Wara #mashupthejam
Large Ramen Bowls! The best raw oysters. Plus, a great selection of sakes!!!
Food was pretty good and server was nice. I had the chicken ramen and was tasty and authentic. Worth the $ will come back!
Best pork buns I've ever had. Highly recommend the sake flight and duck ramen too.
Great service, comfortable and casual. The food is amazing.
Great food
It was so good! Adorable little resturant. I suggest the tan tan men ramen and the sake flight! Will definitely be back there soon!
Tan Tan Men and a Sam Adams....ain't git no better'n that.
Great food!! Had a few tapas and the ramen. I especially liked the pork bun.
Crispy Kale Salad is the best. You won’t be disappointed coming here. Try the 30 hr ramen too.
Japanese style tapas. Spectacular to say the least. Highly recommend the pork belly buns and the takoyaki. Don't ask what's in it... Just. Eat. It.
Wonderful place to eat has an extensive menu of delicious foods and drinks. The people here are wonderful and offer great service. Great place to visit.
Food is a festival in your mouth. Once you eat here once you'll be craving it! Best ramen bowls in RI
The food was amazing! The sake was great, as were the cocktails. Our servers were super sweet.
Nice place, love it!
Never had anything but a great meal. Very nice staff
Delicious! The Ramen Burger was REALLY GOOD! The staff was SUPER nice!!!
Love this place. The food and drinks are on point, and they're prompt with your order even on a busy night. Stellar service, and they do take out!
Little pricey but the food was great. Even the desserts were fantastic.
have been regularly getting dinner and takeout here quality of food is always great.
Fantastic experience! Funky ambiance, good cocktails, kick-ass Ramen, and priced appropriately. Loved it!
Tried for the first time today and got 2 Ramen bowls to go. It was amazing!!! Can't wait to get it again!
Great and authentic asian food!
Loved the place ❤
Food was great. The bartender was a bit inattentive. At one point I was ready for another drink and he was sitting at the kitchen bar completely oblivious to the fact he was there to work.
Everything we ordered was amazing. The crispy chicken skins were my favorite, and I'll be back for more ramen.
Great ramen and a full bar with lots of selections.
My boyfriend and I love this place. Everytime we've gone the food is always amazing and the staff is super friendly.
Such a unique cuisine. Service is amazing. Can't wait to go back.
Great place. Different kind of cuisine but great. Very nice service and Amazing bartender.
The pork belly buns, popcorn chicken, crispy cauliflower and miso ramen were all wonderful.
When I want Ramen, I go here. The best in Providence. The kimchi bloody mary is pretty damn good, too!
Absolute 🔥 fire ramen. Also their veg buns with Kimchi are amazing. Check this place out when you are in or around hope st. …
Good food, vegan options and nice service...Branzino fish was good...!
My fiancé and I were very pleasantly surprised by how good the food was at this place. We are definitely going back there more often now 😍 …
Great atmosphere and a great tapas menu that pairs very well with their selection of Japanese whiskey.
Food was only OK for the price, though there was a lot of it. If they have an AC unit, they didn't use it. It wasn't a terribly comfortable environment in July.
Went here for the first time tonight. The food was a little pricey, but absolutely awesome. Definitely looking forward to go back.
Went to have japanese ramen with wife. The food was great and the atmosphere is relaxing. Will come back.
Delicious authentic... my buddy and I I'd a ball.. try the green tea lava cake, you won't be sorry
Delicious - good veggie options & Gluten free as well. Nice staff & atmosphere!
Absolutely everything is delicious. The service is impeccable. This was my favorite meal in a long time.
Wara wara has an experience you just can't pass. With a mellow atmosphere dishes that excite the taste buds, and desserts you wouldn't think of but would love to try.
The squid ink buns were great. I was very disappointed in the depth of the broth of the ramen and my pork was dry.
Great food and atmosphere. Friendly work staff. Wouls definitely go back again
Bartenders were super friendly, the food was better (in my opinion) than Ken's Ramen.
Yummy and great! Food comes out at a reasonable time and everything is reasonably priced!
The ramen is so good! Also love the east side vibe.
By far some of the best ramen broth I've tasted.
I think I finally found a proper replacement for Ken's so far
Some of the best Ramen I've ever had and the atmosphere and staff were wonderful!
The ramen is pretty good for providence standards.
Very nice employees very good food and the restaurant is very uniquely designed. The food is great but not my exact taste.
Popcorn chicken was perfectly fried and all the Ramen bowls were so good.
I originally didn't like this place the first couple of times I visited. But recently I decided to try it again and it seems to have improved. I will definitely be returning.
Always great 🍜 when I come here 😎 …
Super fascinating food options! Nice staff, great space! Perfect for dinner dates.
