The food was pretty good here. Very well seasoned and is reasonably healthy. Some minor points for improvements. 1) I was hoping the street noodle dish had a bit more noodle. Granted there were a lot of healthy veggies in it, I feel the noodle was insufficient for a "street noodle" dish 2) We put in some drinks orders which never made it to us, and since we had plans, we just asked them to cancel. The waiter was nice, but definitely would have been better to get what we ordered in a timely fashion. 3) I personally feel the music was way too loud. I get that it is a bar as well as a dining venue, but I struggled to talk to my friends without yelling here. So a light decrease in volume would be appreciated.

I loved every moment of this experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming and you automatically feel like you're a part of the crew because they have such a family vibe! Victoria was our main server and she was so amazing! Her drinks were too notch and she was just so nice. The food was bomb and it was a wonderful portion for those who are hungry hungry because I left full full. All in all I want to work here and eat here all at the same time! Dope spot and black owned. Here for it all. If you're in the area, or if you're not, go visit and check them out, and tell Victoria that Spring sent you. Cheers!

Troop is stimulating to the basic human senses: touch, sight, hearing, smell and taste. Once you walk in , the hip hop music sets the vibe, then the decor sets it apart from all others. If you sit at the bar, the bar stools are comfortable and just plain cool. The service was very attentive and the menue was interesting. I ordered the street noodles which was very good. The only thing was the cilantro was over bearing but once i picked it out, I finished the bowl which should be a challenge to most.

First time here an I must say our waiter was the absolute best. The vibe was so dope. Cool scenery. An a great DJ spinning the best hip hop and r& b music. Last but not least the food was so good.

First things first, the biscuits! Don’t even think about it, just order a whole dozen! Passion fruit mimosas, delicious! Service is amazingly great! Do not hesitate and come here! (Don’t forget to reserve your table)

We came here for brunch after booking our reservation via Open Table. At the time all that was left was outdoor seating for an option but we were hoping we could find something indoors seeing it was chilly that day. Well the host was great to accommodate our request as there were a couple of seats at bar and atmosphere was great so we were so excited to be able to take in all the ambiance. Our experience here was fantastic from beginning to end. We had a great time with Destiny bartender providing excellent service and crafting up amazing cocktails. The vibe is here was exactly what I was looking for as it was my bestfriends last day here visiting. The Bloody Mary was so good along with the Espresso Martini I ordered. We ordered the Banh Mi Sandwich and That Chicken Sandwich was to die for packed with flavor! Will definitely come back for a boozy laid back brunch!

I like it here. Good drink menu with a lot of options. They let you make alterations to everything too. Big portions with like 50 million fries. Very loud. Even early on a Thursday with almost no one in there yet. Lol. They have the volume at like 10/10 all the time.

The food here is delicious. I got the street noodles with pork belly recently. Great size portion and sooo delicious! Cocktails, atmosphere and music was good too. The server was nice but the service here is always so slow - from waiting to get water once you sit down to getting your check.

I just went here last night and I have to say, I can't remember the last time I had food and service this phenomenal. Everyone treated us amazing and I can't rave enough about the calamari special as well as their amazing mixed drinks. I had the pineapple upside down old fashion, in fact, I had two of them! A big thank you to both Star and Mary Kate for being so amazing. If you are looking for a super hip and fun place for dinner, you can't go wrong here!

What a great place !! We parked in the back and sat outside and it perfect ! We had the peach burrata salad and the peaches were baked perfect ! The fried vegtables were called something cool and just Dee lish I got the grilled halibut two big pieces and the sauce on the side. I finished it with a homadmaee HOT chocolate chip cookie Everyone was having fun and it has a great vibe for dinner and drinks

Been here for both brunch and dinner. Brunch was great. Cocktails were amazing. Food was flavorful and portion sizes were good. Staff was super friendly!!! Came here for dinner and although the service was great and the staff was excellent, I wasn’t a fan of the food. Got a burger and the BBQ fish. The fish had a weird after taste and the burger was just…fine. Was disappointed with the dinner.

Absolutely loved it here, we came for brunch and I can't wait to go back and try the dinner menu. Highly recommend the cheddar biscuits! The homefries are amazing too. Definitely a must try in my opinion.

So typically I would have never set foot in here as I don't listen to hip-hop/underground rap. I came to support friends as they performed and I fell in love with the atmosphere of this low key venue. The stage was eye catching and the host kept the show going but with breathing room. The seats at the bar were awesome and well thought out. The drinks were priced fairly. I would ad this venue to check out artists on the regular.

We went there last night and are STILL talking about the food. Everything we ordered was incredibly delicious. We ordered the street noodles, the fish sandwich, the cauliflower and the tofu banh mi (we over ordered for two but yay for leftovers!). We loved all of it. Staff was welcoming, warm and friendly. Atmosphere is cool and casual but not pretentious at all. Our server recommended the chocolate chip cookie - a perfect ending, don't skip it. We are definitely going again soon. A gem.

10/10 recommend if you’re looking for a calm yet fun night out with your girlfriends. Drinks are amazing and don’t taste super watered down. The music selection is pretty good also, lots of songs that make you want to actually get up and dance (which dang near everybody was). Omg!!!!! I cannot stop talking about this place. Absolutely amazing!! The food is spectacular. The atmosphere is amazing! The staff is fun. The decor is unique. I got that chicken sandwich and didn't speak to much husband during my entire experience of eating it. It was so good!! I'd go back and go back and go back again. I love the diversity here!!! They take reservations too. Also, outside of it being a restaurant during the day it's a night club/bar at night. Djs or poetry nights! This one is a gem 💎 ✨️

Went to Troop for their 5th anniversary brunch. The food was so good, do yourself a favor and get the seasonal French toast…it never disappoints. The music is alway great and this visit was no exception. Switched out DJs every hour which created a fun vibe. Staff is always upbeat and friendly.

What a great spot! This was the second visit here and first during the pandemic. Felt totally comfortable and safe. Partitions were up and fit the decor nicely as well as a limited number of seated tables. Our server was phenomenal and even came up with a yummy drink based on what I liked. A+ The food was bomb. Fresh, unique, well prepared. We ordered wings, noodz, and the lobster special. Def a revisit! (Sorry we didn't wait to take photos of the food! 🤦🏼‍♀️)

The atmosphere is great, the staff are chill, and the food is good. We stopped here on our roadtrip from Rochester to Newport and really enjoyed our visit. We loved that you can buy the staff a round of beer for $25 - they're all so nice and fun, they deserve it. The burger was delicious and the fries were really tasty too. My husband loved the IPA he got and I ordered the Betwixt drink which I liked a lot too.

Great spot to come for a night out. The atmosphere is very cool, it’s a very colorful and decorative space. It also attracts a cool, interesting crowd, especially compared to places downtown. The prices are pretty good, especially for beer. The music was awesome and there was a bunch of people dancing, it can get a little loud though but if you drink up you won’t mind. It’s usually crazy busy so you might have problems finding a place to sit. The food here is excellent as well, with a menu that goes well beyond typical bar food. Very dope spot, would definitely recommend.

LOVE THIS PLACE! I was there on a Friday night and the hostess was really nice helping us find a time to reserve a table. The food was amazing ! The street noodles were amazing and so were the sandwich’s, they were delicious and large - so worth the price. And the decor was fun and chill. Went here for the first time last week and really enjoyed it. Super cool vibe there, lots of craft beer, and great food. I had the street noodles with chicken and it was full of flavor. Also had the Von Tropp beer and it went perfect with it.

Visited during Big Burger Blowout...Love love love the atmosphere here. I will Definitely be back again. My one and only complaint was that I asked for My burger to be well done, and it was, but it tasted a little charred and that unfortunately took away from my first burger experience here.

Wow. Wild coolness. Hip and amazing. Every menu item is unique. Every drink is a craft. The staff are genuine and real. The chefs love their job and the food is proof of that. If you are looking for an awesome experience of interesting dining pleasure, a great hip crowd, and some pretty cool music that is largely rap-oriented, stop in and enjoy. I cannot get over the vibe of this amazing place. Loved it.

This place is fantastic! My sister booked a table for family for my nieces first birthday and I couldn't have been more impressed with the staff. Everyone is incredibly nice and hospitable. Very knowledgeable waiting staff that gave me recommendations on drinks. The decor and music is really what draws me to this restaurant and if you're a fan of good Hip-Hop and R&B, you need to visit! The banh mi sandwich was terrific and Old fashioned I ordered was done right.

The rating is entirely based on the food. It was soooo incredibly good. I had the special cardamom pancakes with a grapefruit marmalade on top. The atmosphere is very young, with street art, eclectic decor, and music. The only ding I could give was the music was just a tad loud, but it didn't ruin the experience. Don't let that so you from going to this fantastic experience.

We really just stopped in for a quick drink, but they had some delays (15-20min) accommodating our group of 10 even though it was earlier in the night and they weren’t too busy. Once we sat they took our drink orders fast but we probably waited about another 15-20min for them to arrive. Again, it wasn’t busy yet. Drinks were good and it was a nice vibe, albeit very loud. As we were leaving it had quickly gotten packed and they had a DJ just starting. Overall it was a cool place but we were there too long for just one drink. Score it really 3.5 but I rounded up since you can only give whole stars.

Paid more attention to the managers and vendor at the bar than a regular customer. Asked if I wanted a bag for my take out order and it was tossed on top of my box, guess I'm bagging it myself. Stale menu that hasn't changed since 2019. Add a protein to a dish and it turns into a $22+ entree. I want to love this place, but I just can't. Wish sometimes it was still the tapas bar. Disappointed neighbor. UPDATE. They finally changed up the menu. Everything I have had so far has been excellent, with one exception. Ordered a a BBQd local fish entree. Came out with Sysco shrimp. Which is neither local nor fish.

Everything was great- food, music, atmosphere, and server. Went for brunch on a Saturday and had to wait a bit for a table however the whole experience was worth it. Definitely suggest making a reservation just to be safe during busier times

I have been trying to make it to brunch here for awhile. Finally made it and it was WORTH IT. Granted brunch is until 4, but a girl is BUSY. Anyhoo, their brunch menu has something for everyone, whether you're looking for something sweet, savory or both they got you. I went with a special to start, all I remember is it was a strawberry gastrique served with duck, and other delicious things on toast. WHAT!?!!? Delicious. I had the cardamom pancakes (I did not finish them and had the leftovers for dinner!) And my date had the hangover burger that they could barely finish! For drinks I had the AltoEgo (add the habanero bitters for some added heat, shout out to the Bar Manager Audrey for all the delicious drankies) and my date had mimosas. All in all worth it. On Sundays we brunch and Troop is a must try!

We had a reservation but we were running very late. They took us anyway and made us feel very welcome! The staff are incredibly nice and funny and attentive; they really make sure you are enjoying your food and drinks. The drinks were pretty good, my mahi mahi sandwich was delicious, and the French fries are addictive. The decor is very hip and cool but in a creative and unpretentious way, and the music is too! It’s a place for young people but they made us feel at home anyway! Highly recommend!

I've been to this place twice. I give 3 stars due to my second visit. Which wasn't a great experience. My first visit I sat for dinner, and our server, a petite girl with burgundy hair and glasses assisted my group. She was extremely friendly and attentive. The food, drinks and atmosphere met our expectations of this type of restaurant. We had a great time. My second visit, I only had drinks at the bar and was served by this girl who was not so nice or pleasant. I felt I was inconveniencing her every time I ordered a drink. I opened a tab, which came to around $48. I tipped $30. Even after the bar tender slammed my receipt down angrily and walked away. Very inconsistent regarding service. I wouldn't care if I never came back to this place.

Really cool space, when I went they had early 2000s hip hop playing which I enjoyed. We got the jerk chicken and banh mi sandwich both were good, the chicken was big enough to share. The bartender made a great old fashioned. Walls and bathrooms were covered in graffiti and the bar seats backs were mini skateboards. Definitely would go back and the person I went with loves there brunch which she usually eats outside in their patio.

Really cool place! Went for Sunday brunch, got there when they opened so was able to grab a seat at the bar without reservations. Ordered the OG prosciutto toast. It was very good! My only wish is that were there 2 poached eggs on it since it was a long slice of bread.

We were able to make a reservation online which was great! The people are super nice, beers were great. But it took a long time to get our food, like almost an hour. It was just burgers and noodles. The food was pretty good and the prices were decent as well. Cool atmosphere, but if you don’t like it loud go before 10pm, that’s when the DJ starts

This place was awesome! We went on a Saturday and it was understandably busy. We waited an hour but didn't care because the hostess was so fun and engaging and kept bringing us drinks in the waiting area. The food and ambiance was worth the wait. The tuna app, shrimp app, and wings were delicious. We ended with a cookie ice cream sandwich. It was ridiculous. Were going back next week. Thanks for the amazing food and service!

Always great when reality lives up to the hype! Had dinner with another couple last night - waitress Katie was super helpful and her recs were spot on. Was kinda quiet when we arrived, had drinks / apps in the very cool lounge area then moved to a table near the kitchen. By the time we left it was packed, but never too loud to talk / enjoy our friends' company. Food and drinks were great, and the staff is all clearly are proud of what they've created- we'll be back!

I love the atmosphere, the decor, the band playing was awesome. The fries and the squid were great. I gotta say, though, $16 for an adequate burger is kinda steep. Also, the chicken in the street noodles was great, but there was basically a bed of cilantro in the bowl, which I've never seen before, and was definitely not something I enjoyed.

Visited this place in passing through Providence. Great drink selection and the decorative style is something to behold. Very fun "throw back to the 80s/90s" atmosphere. Wasn't sure what to expect of the food, but WOW. Had the eggs benedict brunch and it was incredibly tasty. They put a lot on the plate so you won't go hungry. I highly recommend this place and it makes me wish I lived closer so I could go more often!

Few places I have ever been that are both totally hip AND have absolutely tremendous food AND have absolutely tremendous craft cocktails and honestly, the craft beer on tap is fantastic too! If you don't go eat here, shame on you! Its that good. Try the street noodles and enjoy the 90's hip hop! Did I mention it's totally decorated with urban images and graffiti art? Think Morrocco meets New York City. Love this place. Beats and eats.

Cool vibes to be had at this new age spot with hip hop themes throughout. The energy of this place is unlike any other bar restaurant I've been to in the area. Drinks are eclectic with the theme and very reasonable prices overall. I will be back to sample the food menu as there are a few delicious options. The decor will leave you coming back for more.

Loved it! Came in for a late lunch on Saturday but they were still serving brunch and it was a pleasant surprise. We ordered bloody Mary's and I had the chicken sandwich on a *gluten free* roll! My partner had a Hangover burger! The food tasted fantastic and the serving sizes are plentiful. Our server was amazing too. Finally the decor is super cool--modern renovated to look retro. Eclectic menu. We had a reservation for a party of 9 and they let us sit as soon as we started arriving, which was 15 minutes early. We had plenty of space in one of their large booths. It was a little loud but not impossible to hear each other. Both the draught list and the cocktail list were interesting. Lots of great beers from local Revival Brewing. The food was delicious. The service was great. Sometimes the food takes forever with that many people but it came out in a reasonable time. One note for large parties is that they will only split the bill across 4 or fewer credit cards. Drinks were $7-12ish, food $13-22.

Troop is eclectic and of unfailing quality. That said, I’ve been consistently frustrated that their - admittedly unique - combinations don’t really do the job for me. Add to that the fact that I once asked for a bit of creamy dill/ranch dressing, and rather than being told that Troop simply doesn’t have any I was subject to a sort-of lecture about the integrity of the food and how it would not be appropriate to add such sauces to my food (despite the fact that my intent was to use it on the fries I ordered with my meal). I might expect to hear that from someplace where I wasn’t ordering a burger and fries, much less a street-culture-inspired joint. Because of its location relative to work I’ll be back to try again until I’ve found the right meal for me, but until I do I can’t give much better than 3 stars.

Troop has a great atmosphere. Very eclectic crowd which I Love. The only thing that was disheartening was the treatment from a couple of members of the staff. It was our first time being there and at first we didn't understand their beer menu or the fact that they don't stock tequilas like Patron. They have great alternatives but it seemed as though we were aggravating the bartender with our questions(Think Portlandia inverse). Also, when I tried to start a conversation with the waitress about how much I liked the music and ask if it was the same every night or if they played different genres on different nights. She really had no time for me despite the fact that she was just standing at the corner of the bar. None if this matters though. I will return. I'm not there for the ignorance of some staff members. I'll go there because the music is great and they hit with a much needed vibe that the city needs. It's reminiscent of The Avery (which I highly recommend), just on a larger scale.

Everything about this place was amazing. Had a wonderful time finding it by accident. The tables were all booked so sat at the bar and had no problems getting top service from both bartenders on our side. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is cus our food came out cold and the plate piping hot ( so eventually it warmed it up) but the food was fantastic nonetheless. Yucca fries are starchy fingers of heaven. Can't wait to try it again!

Such a great vibe, venue, and music! The food specials are awesome and you can tell the cooks put work into the integrity of the dishes. The bartenders are overly friendly and make you feel like a well deserved customer at the bar. The servers are jovial and kind and really have great knowledge of the menu and all of the varieties of beer they carry. Once I had the tuna tartare (not on the menu currently) and listened to the Whisper Song by Ying Yang Twins... it was a mutual effin' VIBE.

The environment is our number one reason of why we come here. Troop provides an old school golden era vibe and features fantastic DJ’s and local talent. This place turns into a party on the weekends! The patrons that come here are down to earth, everyone is there for the same reason... to show love, enjoy the good vibes, have fun and let loose. There’s so much culture, style, and so many beautiful and vibrant personalities that walk through that door. We’ve made so many friends and have had such memorable times here. Wether we are enjoying a brunch party, learning new moves at Latin night, or rocking out to some of our fav DJ’s - it’s always the best day/night of the week. Thank you for creating such a dope spot. Troop is a street casual restaurant that blends the aesthetical and musical best of 80s to mid-90s hip-hop with a little bit of punk rock. When you arrive, you will see well dressed patrons ready for a night out on the town. When you enter, the visual appeal is a vibrant universe of music and art. The menu changes frequently, but always has staples such as salads, burgers, and wings. Drink selection is diverse, and affordable. An Altos tequila went for about 8 bucks. Well below other restaurants of that quality. The bottled and draft beer selection was great, as well. Don't miss out on this place. FCheck it out, but be aware of the parking situation. There have been some cars that have had tires taken off while patrons were inside the restaurant. Troop has been working on a solution, but it might require the help of others who have a stake in the property and process.

Troop offers a very modern bar vibe, widely diverse menu and quirky fun staff. Having gone even on one of the busiest nights a bar can have (they had a mixer being held there) the service was still excellent. With having just passed their anniversary they updated their menu as well. The Street Noodles remain an amazing item, with the fried thigh meat chicken as a wonderful add on. A newer item the Mongolian Beef Stew takes a fun twist on what most see beef stew as, using mainly ground meat and adding in heavy spices such as ginger and garlic to make a very flavor packed dish. Or if you want to go on the lighter side The Roots gives a filling yet light salad with delicious root vegetables packed in.

5-stars for these guys all day long. My wife and I first came across Troop at the Bacon and Beer Fest in 2019. While everyone was using warmers or coolers to prepare their dishes, these guys were the ONLY tent cooking with an open flame. Smoke slowly poured out into the event space air, filling it with the most amazing smell, and it was only 1 tent: Troop's. While others had prepared their bacon variants the night before and re-heated them, or served as a garnish, Troop was sizzling up thick and hefty cuts of PORK BELLY. Fast forward a year later with the COVID craziness, and these guys were one of the first to offer curbside pickup. You can't go wrong with the Nugz, any of their burgers, fish tacos, street noodz, or the Banh Mi (highly recommend). There hasn't been a single item on their menu that we haven't liked. The staff is great, and with all the issues going on in the world at the moment, the atmosphere is as it should be (even better if you can get the pre-COVID in-restaurant dining experience): relaxed, chill, and all are welcome. We try to support these guys any opportunity we get, by ordering takeout, dining out on the patio, and spreading the world to our friends. Thank you Troop for sticking through this crazy time!

The response was a bit unusual: Me: “No tables available until tomorrow...so don’t come??” Troop: “Ahh looks like all booked up tonight for big parties. We had lots of reservations.” Decided to go see for myself. My group walked in at 5:30 - no big parties in sight. Got seated immediately. We were there for almost 2 hours and yet to see any big parties or anyone that appeared to have reservations 🤔. Curious indeed! Menu is small. Food was good but very small portions. Music was too loud to have a conversation. Had to order room service as soon as I got back to the hotel. Memorable!!!

Food: 5 stars. Ordered a stuffed omelette with bok choy and pork belly that was delicious. The Home fries were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Service and Food timing: 3 stars The restaurant wasn't visibly full maybe around 4 tables sat with some people at the bar. It took a while to have the order taken and it took a little over 40 minutes to get the food, and then it took a little over 10 minutes to get the check after my table was cleared. Cutlery: 0 stars Troop has nice plates and glassware but the cheap plastic handled knives they give out have no place in a restaurant like Troop. I've had better knives given to me at hole in the wall diners.

Killllller vibe. Went in their one year anniversary on a Saturday. Talked to a few people there and they said the place is always poppin. Even with their skateboard high chairs which don't really match the hip-hop decor. Their hip-hop wall drawings though... Thumbs up! Artwork is definitely an eye catcher. Also has outdoor patio for smokers. Graffiti restrooms..... This decor was taken from a brooklyn page of hip-hop history. Music and mood is yet to be determined since i only visited once. Heard they have reggae night. Shabba! Lol

Dan is a great server. Came to Prov for 1 day...stoped by to Troop cause it was close to the AirBnB, had awesome food and drinks to match.
