Great food and service. Able to dine in or take out. They have decent vegan options in addition to your usual meat-eater's food. Their seitan wings are amazing, and they can make a lot of their pizzas vegan. They have pinball machines you can play when you walk in. Fun, laid-back atmosphere. Bathrooms were clean and gender neutral. Every server we've gotten has been great. Queer friendly.

Great spot for a date or bring the kids! Tasty pizza, good music, great atmosphere. Full bar for adults, arcade games and cartoons on the tvs for kids (muted) with upbeat oldies rock music on. Neat artwork on the walls. Friendly servers too.

Was finally able to make the trip to Pizza J. We decided to try somewhere else out of Johnston. So worth ordering from here and friggin delicious. The crust 👍 can't wait to visit again and play some pinball.

First off, the crust is a perfect New York style pizza crust. We ordered several and they were absolutely perfect and consistently so. The fries came highly recommended and we heartily agreed once they came out and we ordered extra bowls. The regular pizzas were also well received. The drinks were spot-on, and the atmosphere was great to meet and eat with friends. The vegan pizza however fell flat with almost no flavor. The sauce tasted a bit tomato paste-y and the vegan cheese gave neither flavor nor texture. All in all a great place, will definitely revisit but maybe try a veggie-loaded cheese-less pie next time!

Really cool little pizza shop! You can buy pizza by the slice or as a whole pie. The pizza is really delicious, made right there to order or picked off the trays for you. There's a really nice atmosphere inside, a bunch of newer pinball machines you can blow tons of quarters on (there's a change machine inside), plenty of seating, and a nice rustic vibe to the place. I can really recommend this place even if you have only a few minutes to grab a slice or two, great food and the staff are really nice.

I love food that makes me want to stop eating. Not because it'll be gone if I continue to eat it. Just because, I have to reassess life, and admire it's art all across my tastebuds. I'm lactose too, so I thought I had to give up pizza.. but ALAS , They have veggie options without Dairy. It was also 500% delicious. Not 100%, 500%. My good friend Jane brought me and her friend here today. BEST pizza I've ever had in my entire existence. And before this I tried acupuncture a few feet away on the same side of the street at PCA. So, Jolly Good Day 😄

Great atmosphere! The food is delicious and very vegan and vegetarian friendly. I love their "wings" and sauces. So good every time, never disappoints. I have been coming here since 2016 and it's always a pleasure. Staff is very friendly, too.

Coolest place you never knew you needed to check out. Love the retro vibes (I'm an 80's kid). Pizza is some of the best in the state...not just Providence. Only wish they would open the menu back up a bit post COVID....only criticism. Check it out.

Great atmosphere. Delicious vegan options! They let you substitute vegan cheese at no extra cost which is really nice. Great beer options. We got their basic vegan cheese pizza, the vegan garlic fries, and brussel sprouts when we went. All was fantastic and portions were very large which I love. They have pinball machines too! What more could I want from a pizzeria? Pizza J is the best place in Providence I know for sit down vegan pizza and beer!

We usually do homemade pizza on Fridays but when we want to order out, Pizza J is our go to! The sauce is tangy, crust is squishy and never burnt. Our favorite pizza is the Arcimboldo!

This would have been an easy 5- star review except that they never put enough on the pizza. I ordered sausage, peppers, and onion but it was more like a cheese pizza. Not the first time either.

The food was delicious and customer service was top notch! They were definitely slammed and the food took a while but when we showed up too early, we had no problem ordering a drink and waiting around for it to finish. The garlic fries were salty (in the best way) and the gluten free pizza (square shaped) is definitely the largest size I’ve found so far!

Went to pizza J with a buddy this past Sunday January 8th. We just wanted to chill and play some magic the gathering. Ended playing for like 6hours plus 😅. Finally made it to Pizza J last week and am so glad that I did! We found ourselves on the West Side of Providence on Labor Day Monday and we were craving pizza so it was time to give Pizza J a whirl. They have seating inside and outside. We wanted to sit outside and it was pretty busy so we had to wait about 20 minutes. We walked around the neighborhood a bit, came back, and boom our table was ready! There was one server waiting on all the tables outside and he was wonderful. He cleared are table right away, had plenty of suggestions for how we could make the pizza our own, and made us feel truly welcomed. Pizza J can split any pizza half and half! We did half cheese and half the Tony Clifton with vegetarian sausage on it. We also split the roasted broccolini to start. The pizza was fresh, bubbling hot, and had that crispy crunchy crust that I love so much. If you find yourself on the West Side of PVD don't sleep on Pizza J!

Awesome! Beer selection is awesome and they also offer half pours, pizza by the slice was delicious. My husband had a rabe, bean, and burrata special he really liked (it was spicy but he loved it), whiskey cola wings were great as well. Our son (and my husband lol) loved the pinball machines. Peter was our waiter and was incredible... super friendly and attentive. The other person at the register was friendly as well. Cool place and atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Probably one of the better places in Providence to get some pizza. I really like their plain pies since the ingredients are pretty fresh and tasted like a standard New York slice, nothing to rave home about. I’d go back but maybe try something else out besides their pizza since it’s on the pricier side. The waitstaff was also super attentive!

Pizza J is a place that simply loves pizza. You can get vegan cheese and gluten-free crusts if you want, but be aware that it is an open kitchen. This makes cross-contamination an issue. When I went in there, I instantly fell in love with the aesthetic, the colorful scenery and vibe gave off a social atmosphere. Unlike some Federal Hill establishments, which are all about the pizza making business, Pizza J is a place to hang out and even play some pinball while waiting for that delicious pie to cook. West Side restaurants have really picked up their game. Pizza J is an example of it!

I normally order from Nice Slice or Fellini, but I wanted to try something new, and I'm so glad I did. I just got a Bold and Beautiful delivered, and it is one of the best pizzas I've eaten. Id have to try it side by side with the other two, but I think I have a new top pizza in PVD. Yum!

Pretty nice pizza joint. It was dimly lit when we went at night the first time, which really gave the place a cool vibe. Not to mention the fact that I Love Lucy was on TV. They have some arcade games. Overall a unique retro vibe. The pizza itself was delicious, too! They serve large size pies so be ready to share. And not many places offer root beer floats so Pizza J stands out there as well.

This restaurant is in my neighborhood and I have interacted with the owner and crew of this restaurant when they open their sister restaurant on Broadway Julian's 30 years ago I've never had anything but a great experience West End style of Providence meaning good service fantastic food made with quality ingredients in a clean fun environment Chef by trade although no longer working in that field. And I don't know about the rest of you but cleanliness standards including their bathrooms always pristine even before the pandemic when wines would be an hour-and-a-half wait for a table for a brunch which was normal while you were in the cocktail area staff management always cleanliness standards maintained. You will never go wrong either eating here or at Julian's on Broadway

Unique pizza joint near downtown Providence. The pizza is pretty bomb, and the menu offers several interesting flavor combinations. They also offer a few other items, like wings, fries, and salads. The only thing that isn’t great about this place is the prices for what you get. The prices are pretty high, and the pizzas are relatively small compared to a lot of other places nearby, so you’re not getting quite the bang for your buck you would at Neapolitano’s or Caserta. The ingredients here are pretty high-quality though, so it makes sense. The atmosphere is also super cool, a real throwback to the 90s. Sadly, I haven’t gotten the chance to dine in yet but hopefully soon I can change that.

This is our regular pizza place after Big Tony's disappointed one too many times. Love their American Beauty and it's worth the extra distance to go and pickup. Eating in is also something we enjoy with family as their staff is always very kind and the atmosphere is fun and light with the pinball machines and old cartoons.

Troop is a really fun place to go for drinks and pizza! Been there a few times for trivia nights which are tons of fun. Not only is the pizza good but their other dishes are pretty great. The drink selection is good and they always have something fun up on the TVs.

Not only was their food amazing so was their customer service. I went there with my 2 young kids (1 year old and 5 year old) and didn’t realize their dining room was closed. Anyone with small children knows what a challenge it can be to take your small children out to eat. Instead of us having to leave, pack the kids back into the car, find somewhere else to eat, the server opened up the dining room for us and gave us great service. I’m super grateful for such a great experience.

Great Pizza, Awesome rotating Craft Beer selection. The atmosphere is a little oddball (Hipster) but everyone from the bartender to the cooks and floor staff was super friendly. I've had to wait on the weekend, week days are fair over packed. Prices are a little high for pizza but the ingredient options and freshness hint toward why. Pinball machines if you had to wait with an awesome bar top. The area is really turning itself around!

What a surprise Pizza J was! My husband and I got a vegan cheese pizza with vegan sausage and vegan bbq seitan wings. My mother-in-law got a fried chicken sandwich and fries. It was all very delicious! Also, the Rhodey 401 was very refreshing. All of the servers were so kind, and they were even playing Harry Potter on the televisions, which tickled my fancy. The vibe is very relaxed and reminds me of a cool 90s pizza joint, which was fun! You can even play some pinball if you’d like. I definitely recommend checking Pizza J out!

I just wanted to leave the best review I could. Lived in the neighborhood for two years and these guys are consistently awesome. I can take people from out of town here, and it’s just so amazing. The staff are always friendly and nice, the beer is always cold, and pinball machine. Just absolutely loved this place and wish I had came more often!

The pizza was decent but nothing to write home about based on the one pie that I had. I thought it was well flavored but a little too undercooked so not that crispy. I also bought an order of the seitan wings which ended up having the consistency of semi boiled leather which wasn't that appealing but the flavor was also pretty okay still.

Only had choice of pepperoni or cheese for by the slice. And only had 3 slices available atm. Had to wait for a brand new pizza to be made. However, the slices are thin and crunchy while not being dry. The pepperoni is salty and delicious and not too oily. The slices are so SMALL now I remember when they used to have the big slices.

Pizza J's makes delicious thin-crust pizzas with fresh, well-balanced and flavorful ingredients. Take-out pizzas are served in plain brown cardboard boxes, which are just generic pizza boxes assembled inside out. It's a simple idea, but it's a nice touch that is both clever and stylish. During Covid-19, a small amount of outdoor seating is available with tables set far apart, and online orders provide accurate pickup times, so it's easy to just pop in quickly to grab your order. Highly recommend.

We went to Pizza J because we really like Julian's which is another restaurant by the same owners. Walking into the restaurant the atmosphere was great they had pinball machines and you can immediately tell that it had that down to earth, quality food vibe. We first order the calamariwhich was unique in the breading hard to explain but it had a nice spice to it and it was delicious. We ordered three pizzas one was the yeti, hulk out, and the Rita. in my opinion hulk out was definitely the most unique pizza I've ever eaten and it had a nice spice to it that is definitely not for the faint of heart. I will definitely end up back there if I'm in Providence again. The only reason why I give this four stars is because the waitress was inattentive and didn't acknowledge it; would be 5 stars if service was better.

Another jewel on the West side of Providence. This a cool, funky kind of place that was filled with people of all ages. There are several pin ball machines at the front door and down the corridor are old school arcade games. We had passed it several times and always said we should try it, we finally did and what a treat! This is a sister restaurant to Julian's. They have a huge kitchen and make all the breads and pizza doughs here as well as doing the catering and food trucks here. We had the standing which were terrific with an absolutely delicious sauce which complemented them perfectly. We then had the short rib pizza and it was absolutely delicious! The crust was thin and a little crispy, just the way we like it. We finished it all with an ice cream sandwich made with homemade ice cream. DELICIOUS!! The bar is (wo)manned by Sam and she not only made us some terrific drinks, she was a cool person to talk to. I can't recommend Pizza Jr's enough.

My #1 pick and these are all the reasons. First of all, I'm from Boston and on a never-ending search for what I've grown up with and love. Ordered from many 4+ star places in the area only to be disappointed and confused. HOWEVER, this pizza is how it should be and it's flipping delicious. It's a normal damn amazing pizza. No weird sauce distribution like the swirl thing that a lot of pvd places do. Italian sub is delicious. Love the atmosphere inside and colored windows. To top it all off, all of the people I have dealt with here, especially the women, are *extremely* polite, well mannered and friendly! Even more than many upscale restaurants I've been to - something I have never experienced in a pizza establishment. Really happy I found this place. Thank you!

I have never had a bad meal or service here. The food and beer selection is always superb. The servers, at any time of day or night are attentive and polite and genuinely seem to enjoy their jobs. There is always an enjoyable interaction with all of the staff. Just found out about wing nights and was not disappointed. Get them naked with sauce on the side. So good!

Casual, trendy brick oven pizza place with a good selection of craft beers. Hipster vibe, but not overpowering. TVs showing vintage cartoons or random colors. Pizzas are tasty. Garlic knot French fries are the bomb, a must eat. Good brews, excellent pizza, gluten free crusts, love love love. Update, the last few times I've been here the wait for pizzas to be made was well over 30 minutes which to be honest is ridiculously long. Don't know if the food is worth the wait. The best pizza in Providence isn't as good when you have to wait an hour in an empty restaurant for it.

Food is awesome! Decent beer selection. The waiter we had was uninformed and unapologetic - lazily unprofessional. Both our table and the one next to us had to send our bills back because he'd "forgotten" to take half off our appetizers. Yes, their apps are a real bargain between 4 and 6, but you'll have to ask for the deal and double check your bill! (Our waiter claimed to "not know" if apps were half off at 5:45 on a Saturday. Had to insist he go check.)

A group of friends got together to celebrate here on trivia night! We had a great time - once our server finally came to the table. I was the first to arrive at 630 and didn't get asked if I wanted a thing, not even alcohol, even after making a joke about drinking until everyone else arrived. But oh well. We finally hailed the server to our table and ordered just about every app on the menu plus pizzas. We also got (3) 40oz bottles of rosé and a cocktail or two. The bar was kinda slow but the kitchen cranked out the food in record time and it was delicious - and not drunk and hungry delicious, just flat out tasty goodness. I wish I had taken some food pics to share! All in all it was a very good night!

Not sure what the deal with this place is, interior is wicked cool and wants to have the vibe of the old school pizza parlor that you can hangout at. There is no seating for counter ordering, so full service or get lost. There is very few pizza places in Providence with this set up. Food is good but the service is slooooooooow. It would be great if they left some of the bar area open as full service but added some tables with counter service. Maybe then people would hang out, eat pizza, and play pinball. In its current state it's somewhat unwelcoming and inconvenient.

A little offshoot of Julian's on Broadway that still maintains it's quirkiness while being a lot less cramped. Lots of pinball and a few retro games line the walls of most of the place; extremely well-stocked bar with very knowledgable and friendly staff. The pizza is killer, featuring ingredients you wouldn't conventionally find (shaved asparagus, seitan, cured grated egg yolk) and prices are all reasonable for the quality of food you get.

Great pizza and even better pinball. Their machines are always in full working order and they work hard to keep them that way. We have two other great options for pinball in Providence, Shelter barcade and Freeplay barcade but I still find myself coming to pizza j for drinks and pinball. Better to pay 50 cents a game and have your pick of the litter, than to have to wait at shelter for the very limited selection of free play machines they have. Over all I highly recommend pizza j for all pinheads and anyone looking for good pizza and craft beer.

I ordered delivery from here recently and the food was okay. I really enjoyed the smoked wings even though they were a little too charred. The garlic Brussels were very good. My problem came with the braised wings and the salad. The braised wings were bland and kind of chewy and the salad was just bleh. First time here great place and pizza I won’t give a 5 because of the wait time. 5 times the same waitress walked by me and didn’t acknowledge me at least welcome!!! Ok be right with you!!! I picked the strutter pizza very good but no enough Italian sausage plus too spicy which by the way it doesn’t tell you in the menú. Hope next time I get a better treatment.

Hands down, best vegan pizza I've ever tried!!! Unfortunately I live in New Jersey, or else I would be here all the time. I got the Audrey made vegan. The normal Audrey has fresh mozz on it, so they switched the pizza cheese to vegan cheese and I asked for vegan ricotta to replace the fresh mozz. I also tried the bbq seitan wings...amazing!!!! Even my meat eating boyfriend loved these!!! We will be back every time we visit RI. The staff was very friendly, everything was clean, and there are pinball machines!!

Okay this pizza is not oily or messy and has all the taste and flavor of deep dish. It has a nice thin crust but never have I gotten a burnt or under cooked pizza pie of these guys. Let me tell you these pizzas are extrodinary, I like the envoirnemt much better than flat bread company, because it is a more quiet atmosphere and not full of dopey loud mouths like you may find over on thayer. We waited a while for someone to take our order and then for our food. We all knew what we wanted right away. Got there at 8pm, didnt get asked our order until 820ish-pm. The place didn't seem overly packed to me but they said they were busy. After waiting 12min we were told it'd be another 15min. When I asked if we could atleast get our French fries while we wait for our food they said our order hasn't even come up yet and it's first come basis with the cooks. We even had to ask for water and when she brought The straws they were uncovered and in her hand, no napkin. The food was really good but waiting almost 50min to eat when we were already hungry was a bit much.
