Reviews of Tin Shed Garden Cafe
Caleb Shaeffer
I started off searching for best breakfasts in Portland and cross referenced that list with most dogfriendly joints in Portland. That took us to the Tin Shed and boy am I glad it did. I loved so many things about this place from the self serve coffee to the chill and polite service to the dog options on the menu. We were there for a bit and I think I saw at least 8 dogs in and out of this establishment. All of them well behaved and just enjoying being out with their owners. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would just for the atmosphere and dog friendliness alone. Do not miss out on the biscuits with jam. Those were so tasty and probably my favorite thing I ate. We ordered both the naughty and nice meals and were happy sampling so many good things this place has to offer. There are a lot of options in Portland and this spot is worth a visit.

My partner & I went here for my 1st time she had been here several times before. I was very impressed with the quality of food flavors. The rosemary mushroom gravy & biscuits combo is simply amazing! I also had the Turkey apple sausage & eggs & some hash browns & boy I could not even finish half of my meal. The place is set up super well & the staff is very attentive & friendly & very pleasant! I will definitely be going back to this place for sure!

Was excited to go here for breakfast, but think the hype let the experience down.
Didn't have a reservation but was there at 8am hoping because we were early we could get a spot. We were unlucky and had to wait an hour. I don't think it was worth the wait.
We were sat out in the tin shed, it was a cool morning, they only had a fan heater going that would come on in bursts.
Bring warm clothing is all I can say if it is cool out.
The food was ok, nothing to write home about. Service was average, a bit slow. The server was walking around with the coffee pot for refills and with two empty cups looking at her, she just walked on by.
It is a nice neighbourhood joint, but take the hype with a pinch of salt.

My partner and I had just moved to Portland and I found this place under "best brunches in Portland." It does not disappoint but make sure to make a reservation because they are popular. The aesthetic and food really do it, plenty of comfortable outside seating, self-serve coffee/tea bar, and dog friendly (outside only I believe).
I highly recommend getting anything that has the rosemary-mushroom gravy, absolutely delicious, especially on the potato pancakes. On the table are 2 bottles, a homemade jam (razzberry for us) and a house made hot sauce. I was weary about the hot sauce at first because I didn't think it would pair well with the stacked scramble and boy was I wrong. It's flavorful and provides a nice kick for breakfast (bought a jar on my way out). The jam isn't too sweet and pairs really well with the homemade biscuit.
Service is a little slow so don't come here if YOU are in a hurry. Be ready to enjoy the environment and your breakfast.

We are new to the Portland area and we have a Golden doodle who cannot be left home due to extreme anxiety. We looked up restaurants where dogs are welcome and we found the Tin Shed. We were able to make a reservation. The people at the cafe are so warm and welcoming. Our dog got a treat right away. There is a self serve coffee and tea station. We ordered chicken thighs and sweet potatoes for our dog and we ordered spicy blackened salmon sandwiches. The food was so good, it just stayed with us as a warm feeling after we left. Parking is on the street and challenging, but it is worth it! I cannot wait until we are in Portland again so we can visit the Tin Shed!

I've been going to Tin Shed for years now, and I'm always incredibly happy by the time I leave. I love that the coffee is self serve; I drink very quickly and don't mind getting my own refills. The photo posted shows the Everything Nice menu option, and it is just a giant plate of all my favorite breakfast options. Highly recommend, will keep coming back here till I can no longer.

One of best places to have breakfast for sure! Even plain potato wedges are incredibly good! Not over or under seasoned, perfect amount and the cocktails are great too! Sheds on fire cocktail became my favorite for the winter right away! Great food, nice drinks, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, what else you need?

A must-go if you're in that part of town in Portland. The meals are as big as your head you might want to consider sharing one. The bloody Mary was outstanding. Service a spot on can't wait to come back someday.
Jerome Rhodes
Perfect Portland brunch, your new go-to recommendation. When a place does eggs perfectly fluffy, bacon juicy and crisp, and potatoes with the right crunch, you know you've reached a top tier kitchen. Self serve coffee station with funky mugs was an amazing fun touch to the already cozy atmosphere. Service was on point, warm, and very accomdating!

Place was a bit pricey but pretty good. I had the eggs Benedict which was good but not great. It came out cold unfortunately and the sauce was kinda bland. Nothing special. The potatoe pancakes were delish tho. And my boyfriend seemed to really like his. The gravy was tasty and their raspberry jam is good as well. Next time I will order something else

Awesome experience and food was excellent. The hashbrowns literally melted in my mouth 😤 The waitress complimented my ring (just got married and was on my Honeymoon) and I told her about the history of it since it was passed down to me by my Stepmom after she passed (she really wanted me to have her beautiful ring for my future Wedding, but I digress.) A moment later, they bring us a couple surprise celebratory biscuits with jam! 🙌🙆♀️ I had one of the special Mimosas, and I would definitely love to try the other choices they have. I was very impressed by their whole menu! Also had lots of fun spotting the cute lil things around the restaurant (just snapped a couple pics).
Jonathan Ramos
Such an awesome place. Friendly, tasty and nice decor. Self serve coffee and water. Everything naughty is spot on delicious. Reservations seem to be needed because i was here before they opened on a Monday and they already had a few people waiting. Safe to say this place is always crowded but worth it. Thanks!

Loved my meal. Just about right for my appetite too. I have small appetite so Gnocchi Bowl is all I have and I was full. Finished it too. Yum.
The three crew I interacted with was friendly or maybe they felt bad seeing me alone? Lol. They were friendly period. 😄
Wait time was fair for one seat at the bar. Lady asked if I’m over 18 because she’s sending me to a bar seat. If you don’t want to wait, then, book in advance.
Love their sign saying they basically don’t discriminate anyone so that feels reassuring that the crew will be friendly and they were.
I will definitely go back here when I visit Portland again even though parking is a challenge 😄

A pleasant go-to place for years..Their biscuits are layered and flaky, love 'em. There is bacon gravy or rosemary mushroom gravy option for B & G, vegetarian sausage or pork AND dog menu.😆❤️ Sausage depicted is pork.

We enjoy coming here not just for the food (mmm….cheesy grits and homemade biscuits) and drinks (Irish coffee please!), but the staff is welcoming and friendly too. We always see Bryan and he’s the best!
Jeannette Rainey
The most amazing food & atmosphere I found in Portland! The staff seem authentically happy to be there. The food was outstanding! Even better, it’s dog-friendly! They have a dog menu & a portion of their merchandise goes to support a local canine rescue group.
Christal Mathews
My sister was in town to surprise our dad for his birthday. The day she was leaving, we took him out for a birthday brunch. I mentioned to the waiter it was dads birthday and he doesn’t get out much due to health reasons. Man oh man did he make my dads trip there a memorable one! See photo!! The food was good, Bloody Mary even better!!
Heidi J
Delish- ous!!! Got the southwest bowl with sauce on the side and gluten free toast. Yum! Perfectly blended flavors. Also got veggie pesto scramble shared with Mom. Again, super delicious. All ingredients cooked perfectly. Not over or under cooked. So refreshing. I love when I find a veggie dominant dish that tastes this good.
I appreciated how well distanced the tables were and the good amount of shade. The atmosphere is so cozy and comfy..Now you need to open one in Columbus, Ohio! 😄😆please!!!! For now I'll stop by whenever I visit Mom.

Lovely space with solid breakfast fare. That said, I have to say the service isn’t good. We waited an hour for our food. That’s an hour after being sat. They are very busy and that’s great, but eggs and sausage and scrambles shouldn’t take an hour. We only saw our waitress once during that time and it was right before our food was being served to tell us it was being plated. No updates otherwise. I could see some of the cracks beginning to show through. Many people waiting for seats, some with reservations. At one point an angry reservation customer walked out and the host yelled, “Go f$@& yourself!” as he and his partner walked away. Not a good look. Again, the food was good but not worth the wait or the scene.

Great neighborhood cafe. Enjoyed a mocha before breakfast - it was the best of our trip! Local artwork adorns the walls and accompanies a lively beat. See you next time!
Alec Swanstrom
Great experience here on a Saturday. Learned they are no longer accepting walk-ups, but they were able to get us seated without an issue. Food was amazing, had veggie pesto, and the "fetch" scramble. Service was killer, so was the food.
isabella smith
This food in this place is delicious! The sweet potato-bacon hash bowl and the artichoke sandwich were so so good! The atmosphere is very chill and fun! The service is great and friendly!
Lisa Sparks
Food and service were good. Pork sausage was off the charts. I could have eaten a whole plate of that alone! Food could have been warmer though, and we were inside.
Marlisa Rebaum
One of the best brunch spots in Portland! I love how dogs are allowed and they even have a little dog brunch menu. Their biscuits are amazing.
Victoria Richards
I’m never disappointed by our trips to Tin Shed but today was extra special. Our waitress, Jalyn, was so kind and attentive. She even made an extra trip over to our table just to check on our pup and offer another doggy entree, when she noticed that Maverick wasn’t thrilled with her yogurt. I can’t say enough about the customer service here! Jalyn even helped me create my mis-matched plate of cravings. Thanks Jalyn!
michelle weaver
I got Everything Naughty, very tasty! Biscuits were a little crunchier on the edges than I’m used to but still good. I don’t usually like my eggs scrambled but these were really good! Would definitely go back. The only thing I would recommend is getting a reservation, we didn’t have one but only waited about 15 mins for a table.
Edit: we are back in Portland and went back here! Got a table super fast and everyone loved their food. I got an Everything nice this time and was part of the clean plate club 😂
Jennifer Boehm
Friends took me here when I arrived in Portland. It was so delicious! I got the Heartless Artichoke sandwich and it was amazing. I loved it. Friends really enjoyed their food as well. Definitely recommend! The staff were busy that day, but definitely friendly and helpful. Appreciated the suggestions that we were given. Thanks!
Bekki Neal
Perfect outdoor dining. Wish I brought my pupper to enjoy a banana pb yogurt. The egg Benny was top notch!
Linnell Gribble
The Tin Shed is a cove of hustle and bustle; an outdoor seating arrangement with tin walls, a cozy fireplace, and fuzzy dog buddies. We had a wait, though we had reservations (thus the 4, not 5 stars), but it was worth it. The pesto packed a garlic punch, the sweet potatoes melted in my mouth, and the zingy power of the kale complimented it all. Service was outstanding, and my little cow dog got some treats; not to mention, he didn't have to sit in the car. The Tin Shed is well worth a drive across town or a visit from another city!
Alisha Johnson
This place is absolutely delightful. We dropped in without a reservation on a Friday for brunch and waited about 20 minutes before getting seated at the bar. Everyone — from the host to the server to the bartender — was incredibly pleasant, despite the place being packed. The coffee/water/hot tea station was a nice touch. My vegan husband thoroughly enjoyed his farro bowl and my breakfast scramble was pretty good. I’d come back here in a heartbeat because it was all so damn pleasant.
Ana
2 hour wait if no reservation made ahead of time. Dog friendly. Food was extremely delicious!
Belinda Shallcross
Great service! Delicious breakfast for both meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Nice vibe!
Keith Mansur
Great food. Had brunch on Black Friday. We had reservations. The self serve coffee and water is unique and pretty cool. Saves staff time and allows you to refill as you need to.
My dish had great eggs and cheese grits and potato cakes. They allowed me to get both as a side!!
Jess D
Why did it take me SO long to come here?!?!?!
This place is over the top amazing!
Warning...there is quite a wait but it is absolutely worth it.
Ordered the stay w/mushroom gravy and good dog. I absolutely loved mine!!! The veggies were so fresh even though they were blanketed in the most over the top drool invoking delicious gravy. (Don't stress about the lack of meat. I did and had ordered sausage on the side but realized it was absolutely unnecessary).
The hubster thought his was crazy hot (I mean, it does have jalapenos in it) but he still ate 3/4! Lol
Ok....so I have a confession. I'm a biscuit hater. However, these bad boys were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!! So good I got an extra one to go.
All I have to say is, I can't wait to go back.
Aditi kamatkar
Lovely spot and fantastic food. The outside seating area is a great idea. I tried the pesto scramble with a vegan meat option. Loved it. The pesto was so fresh and smelled heavenly. Great portion sizes. They have self service for tea coffee and water. Street parking. Great experience overall.
Lucy
Wonderful staff- I’m starting to think folks in Oregon are simply uber nice. Can’t say it was the best breakfast burrito I’ve had but the ingredients tastes fresh. I’m glad it opens at 7am on weekends to allow me to fuel up for my hike right after. You do need a reservation right now. I didn’t realize this and walked in. The hostess was kind enough to give me a seat. I tried to be as quick as possible but the place did fill up by then time I left, so try to plan accordingly. I am eyeing their eggs Benedict though so I just might come back soon!
Alycia Moore
Amazing vegetarian food. It’s so good my husband woke me up at 2am to tell me how much he was craving the biscuits combined with the strawberry jam 😂
Gayle Keller
I love this place. Have been there too many times to count. The food is so good and yummy! Their biscuits are the best! They cook eggs well and have unique and interesting flavors! Their prices have gone up as many places prices have. I do not love having to get my own coffee. Only complaint. They are so dog friendly which i love! They have always been dog centric their patio and other outdoor seating areas. I brought 2 of my medium size dogs amd the staff were so sweet with them and gave them dog biscuits. I ordered them a peanut butter yourgurt banana dog dish. They both loved it and had a great time. Can bring a dogs to sit outside.
Ricky Martin
The staff was super friendly, but perhaps my waitress was too busy to handle it. My entree was missing the avocado add-on and also missing the toast. When she finally checked on us (my meal was already done), she offered to bring the missing items at that point. My lunch was great, but the portion was super small (I ordered Farro sanders). I would have eaten 2 of those if they weren’t 14$. My wife breakfast (stay) was a big portion though and she really enjoyed it. In summary… probably worth the visit.
Nima
Food is interesting and flavorful and very, very filling. Tons of vegetarian options and different things to try. Definitely a step up from what I would cook up for brunch at home, esp with the potato cakes. I would caution against ordering any coffee or espresso drinks here though, extremely weak bad coffee drinks here. Stick to water and save your calories for the extremely filling meal. Flavor wise it’s good, tasty but nothing crazy amazing just comforting, filling brunch that’s a step up from the typical diner food
Brianna Louise
What an amazing spot for brunch! The food is so delicious with many mouthwatering options. The menu is really vegetarian friendly too. I got the doggie dessert for my pup and it was a total hit. Can’t wait to come back!
Amanda Root
Was in Portland briefly for a visit and picked up from the Tin Shed to go. Super easy offering and pickup process. Since I was picking up and not dining in I had a very brief interaction with an employee and he was extremely friendly. I enjoyed the Stay scramble with a side of fruit and ice oat milk and honey latte. The mushroom rosemary gravy was superb and the scramble was well seasoned with fresh veggies atop crispy and flavorful potato cakes. 10/10 experience!
LaShuna Anderson
Had the Shed on Fire (can’t completely remember the name of the drink) but it was good! I had the scramble and a few biscuits so tasty.
Afroza Misty
Have to take reservation in weekends. Good food.
Also, they have some dog’s meals in their menu. So a good place for pet parents.
Daniela Rojas
One of my favorite locations to get breakfast in Portland. The food here is very delicious. I’ll avoid this location durning the weekends since they are the busiest those days. If you are willing to wait but be warn the wait can be anywhere between 30min. To 2 hours.
Katie Hawks
My friend and I had breakfast here on a Monday morning and this place is popular!!! I had the everything nice and she had the everything naughty. We both made a great choice. Food was delicious. Staff was friendly, fast, and helpful!
T. Beaty
Everything is on point here, from their amazing grits to the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had, with a gravy that tastes like mushroom and isn't overpowered by rosemary.
Update Oct 2022: still a favorite go-to. Their biscuits are amazing. Their grits are guaranteed good. Their staff is awesome. One of my favorite brunch places when I want to feel loved by food and atmosphere.
Mark Underwood
Yep, that was legit.
Building was very bright inside, with skylights providing plenty of natural light. I was surprised by the pretty wood framing as well. Coffee and tea is self-serve, so no need to wait and no need to ask for refills. Food was a little spendier for breakfast, but the quality is top-notch. I found myself chasing every last bit of egg around my plate.
You must make a reservation for weekends, however. Fortunately my party had one but the party of two in front of us were given a 30-45 minute wait time. I can guarantee you, though, there's a reson a seat at Tin Shed is so in demand.
John J Knoernschild (the Garden Samurai)
This is a 5 star place except for parking. The greeters are cheerful and the staff friendly and very
Consscientous. The dog friendly makes it more interesting. The place was full when we came The wait was reasonable. The hot chocalate was good but not exceptional. The hamburger was good.
Jennifer Vachon
Went here for breakfast before starting our day and everything was super yummy! Great French toast, bacon, and gravy and biscuits. Our service was great and there was indoor/ outdoor seating.
Willow Suits
I'll start from the beginning...we arrived around 10am on a rainy Wednesday, figuring it shouldn't be too hard to get an outdoor table for 2. Boy, were we wrong! It was slammed already, and we waited 45 min for a table- yet the host was cool as a cucumber + friendly despite the rush! Many people were waiting for tables, and now I understand why 🤤 The classic eggs benedict was absolutely delicious, as were the cheese grits and potato pancakes. Our server Katelynn was wonderful and attentive, and there were no "I need to turn these tables quick" vibes from any of the staff, which I appreciated especially as me and my partner were splitting a plate. 10/10 other than the long wait! Very worthwhile.
Rick Jackson
One of Portland's best breakfast restaurants, Tin Shed never disappoints. Solid team of professionals serving a nice array of quality menu items - there is a reason you will always find a line to get in.
... and yes, it's worth the wait.
Sarah Robins-Barber
My favorite breakfast place in Portland!
They make the best eggs benedict I've ever had. Their coffee is good and if you're lucky enough to get one of Lucas' tables you're in luck!
Joseph McCutcheon
Never drop reviews but had a lovely breakfast date here with my girlfriend. We had the special of polenta with eggs, veggies and Spanish chorizo and it was 10/10. Staff was so sweet and genuinely kind and attentive. Will be back again soon!
CLOUDWALKR
Very friendly place with an interesting menu. I'd recommend pretty much all of the food! Try the passion mimosa and their homemade jam is great!! Cool spot..always go here for breakfast.
Euric Krause
Hard to believe it took me 6 years in PDX to finally visit Tin Shed. And believe me it did not disappoint. Friendly staff, amazing food, good prices - hard to beat that combo!
I'm already thinking up reasons to visit again. Sunday brunch, sure. Friend's dog's birthday, check. Pre Dental visit, why not?
Allaix Henri
Loved breakfast. Waited to be seated and for food but waited with coffee in a cool location. Totally relaxing amd thoughtfully prepared food. Loved the gnocchi pesto poached egg bowl.
Cyd Gann
Tin Shed is an Alberta Staple, great breakfast and lunch, closed for dinner. Dog friendly with outdoor covered seating, fire place. Kid friendly, crayons and kud menus but there can be a long wait on the weekends, show up early. Drinks and or coffee while you wait. Handicap access.
Delaney Davis
I've been coming here long before Covid. The atmosphere, the staff and the food are just as amazing as I remember. 😊
I'm also ecstatic about Salmon &Spice coming back on the menu, I could cry. Haha
I somtimes come alone but I always order another Sando togo.
Jennyfer Peters
Such a great place. I had the special and it was delicious. The person who waited on us was very accommodating to my food allergy and was super friendly! 10/10
Steve Roberts
This place is absolutely amazing!! Bring your pup's, and your appetite. The food is fresh and the servers are kind. I always bring friends and family who visit here because of the atmosphere and experience. A must for breakfast anytime you can make it! Cheers!
L T
Perfect brunch! Sometimes the wait is a little long (not uncommon), but it's a nice atmosphere and reliably great food. Very much recommended.
Jennifer Nill
I have been dreaming about the farro sanders ever since I tried it this morning. I can't wait to come back. The hot sauce on the table complemented it so well. Next time I'll try that famous biscuit.
The fireplace is delightful. The warmers are loud but nice and warm compared to outside. Love the self-service water and coffee.
Menu description: Farro Sanders—A vegan bowl with farro, roasted cauliflower, delicata squash, roasted garlic, and green garbanzo beans, topped with an avocado chimichurri, and sliced red cabbage. Served with sourdough.
Aditi Durga
Great Brunch! Their Biscuits are a must try. All the ingredients were fresh and the bottomless coffee and tea! The serve your own coffee gives it a homey vibe with fun mugs to choose from
Jonathan Grubb
I had the Good Boy with the potato pancakes option and I added avocado (which was a good choice). It was probably the best breakfast scramble I have had in Portland proper - rich and fairly spicy, with a chipotle sauce that adds a fun twist.
Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive, but not over-frequent. This is a dog-friendly establishment (including some menu options), and several dogs were present with their owners, *mostly* amicably.
Update: On a later visit, I had the Mac and Cheese of the Day (that day was one with artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted garlic and spinach) and it was exceptional. Also, an order of the happy hour tacos, which were good, as well. I hope that, on a future visit, I will get to try other Mac and Cheeses of the Day.
Jeremiah Beene
This place is absolutely fantastic. My wife and I have been all over the US, and we love to find the best restaurants that each city has to offer, so I feel fortunate enough to have a decent grasp on great food. This place still blew me away. I can see how this place made Diners Drive-ins and Dives.
They build insane flavors into the humble brunch experience, their bloody marys are top notch, and their servers are great! As with any really great food, the wait is definitely on the long side, but I imagine that's due to the execution it takes to pull off some of these dishes.
Overall, a wonderful experience, and I can't wait to come up with an excuse to go back.
OH. And we had to make reservations to get in. I think it's required, so heads up!
Ricardo Seah
Pretty good brunch place with a nice cozy local feel to it. The staff were very friendly and approachable. The wait was rather long so I recommend getting there early or at least take that into account when planning a visit. They do have self serve coffee and tea that will be added to your bill available to keep warm as you wait for your table to be ready. The food was pretty good and filling.
Kailee Carlson
Such a good brunch spot!!! There was a bit of a wait at 8am when we got there on a Friday, but they have self serve coffee and tea while you are waiting that is added to your bill at the end. Large outdoor seating area as well as indoor seating with a bar. And dog friendly with even a few menu items for dogs! The Veggie Pesto egg scramble was incredible. Pesto and cream cheese on top of eggs?! Yum. And it comes with a homeade biscuit and choice of cheese grits or potato cakes. They also have a large menu of alcoholic drinks. Great friendly service. Can't wait to come back.
Rob Ralph
Loved stopping in here for breakfast. The service was friendly and helpful with suggestions. The food was incredible and large portions. Can’t wait for our next visit to Portland to head back. We ordered the Roll-over and the Everything Naughty I think and would definitely get both again.
Amanda Souders
Really enjoyed this cute place! Our server was absolutely delightful. The food was fantastic: the potato cakes were my favorite and also loved the biscuit with homemade strawberry jam, vegan sausage, and eggs.
Got the "Best in Show" greyhound-like drink too.
Savannah Maas
Hands down one of the best breakfast places in town. From their organic menu options to their homemade biscuits and raspberry jam to their cheesy grits & fabulous beverages, this place is worth every penny!
marlena marie
Great food service and vibe. Awesome menu and creative fun names. One of the best places for brunch. Vegan options
Vicky Gonzalez
Start to finish perfection, we had the Benny Hill, the Roll over and the Tim curry for my vegetarian husband. The food was fantastic, great portions and excellent flavors. The Benny had a PERFECTLY poached egg. The ambiance was cute and eclectic, the music was cool and comfortable. Our server was witty and polite, prompt and hospitable. When we visit Portland, we will make sure to visit the Tin Shed. ♡
Cristina Schnider
This place was amazing! I picked it out of a long list of options on Alberta and am so glad I did. The service was so friendly and prompt and the food spectacular! And there was enough to take home as well. My scramble had perfectly spiced pork sausage (would love to know the source), and lightly sautéed mushroom, red peppers, and gently wilted spinach with light, fluffy eggs and goat cheese on top. OMG! And the cheese grits were super cheesy and creamy- really hard to accomplish-and topped with moored grated cheese. My husband loved the brisket and sweet potato hash and the crispy buttery biscuits. I took half mine home. Also loved the supplies of Steven Smith teas at the DIY coffee and tea bar. Really hot water not out of a coffee container - yay! Portland has so many great places to eat that you don’t have to return to one but I’d definitely come back here. The cocktail menu looked enticing... maybe for happy hour or dinner next time?
Janna
The Bloody Mary was a perfect blend of spices, the potato cake was crispy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside. The staff surprised me with a candle for my birthday!
Becky Torres
Great breakfast location, the atmosphere was very welcoming and inviting, there was a wait time, but during that you were free to grab a cup of coffee and refill as much as you like. Once seated, the service was quick and very friendly. I ordered a Chai Tea, I had no complaints but they overhead me stating there was a different taste to it, so they removed the charge which I was not looking for. This place is definitely a place I will return to for more great meals
Yew Kar
Delicious food, good service, loved the hot sauce... In the pictures: the spike, fetch, vegan pesto and some other stuff
Adam Ninja
Tin She'd Garden Cafe is dog friendly and a good place to get brunch. They even have 2 items on the menu FOR dogs. If you check online menus, don't count on Mac n Cheese. They no longer have it on the menu and are more focused on brunch items. Get a biscuit and try it with their jam. It's uh.... the jam.
Candyce Ford
A Portland favorite. Dogs are welcome on the patio, we we're lucky to not have to wait because we left our furry friends at home. Nice staff, a little pricey but delicious food. I recommend their potato's over the grits. A self serve coffee bar at the back of the bar. Overall I enjoyed this bar, if you bring your pup you'll probably have a wait to be seated. I'll go back for sure.
Michael DeGraw
Dog friendly, good service and food. It is a very busy place even when it’s “slow” but they have a pretty good set up. We just drink coffee and wait outside and have never had a bad experience here. Like with any popular quality spot, a little bit of patience and knowledge of what you are headed into will make the experience a whole lot better not just for you but for your wait staff as well.
Joseph Harmon
Come one, come all, and bring your dogs! This is one of the most dog friendly restaurants I’ve been to. Our server was excellent. The food was delicious. Excited to come back and try the patio in the summer.
thezombiepotato1
Superb, real flavourful and care and both the cocktails and food. Great staff and atmosphere too, will definitely be going back
Sagar Bansal
The service was good and the food was exceptional. Gluten free friendly!
The Good Dog scramble on potato cakes was marvelous. The flavors were unique and it was perfectly spiced. The berry and coconut dessert (can't remember the name) was not too sweet, the granola was good, and it was very satisfying.
Highly recommend!
Alex Wik
Worth the wait! Great menu with good selection of bevies and food that doesn't make you feel heavy after! The salad is amazing and the dressing is delish! Our furbaby loved his meal too! Wish we had more of these places in Vancouver BC
Meg In The World
It was ok.. We were excited to try their food after we read all great reviews. We waited about 1 hour (you don’t have to wait in the restaurant, they text you when your table is ready), our expectations were higher. But food was just ok... We had Salmon Egg Benedict with avocado $17.5, and today’s special $14. Both sounded great, but not as much as it sounds honestly.
Michael Duran
We love this place. Great bar and super friendly staff. Favorite brunch spot since moving to Portland.
Seth Maston
Had heard good things from friends that have visited Oregon. Was greeted warmly and seated promptly at my leisure. Order the specialty for the day, which was both filling and delicious. Tasted a draft of the Swift Marionberry Cider and I was not disappointed. First time visiting OR and I would come back again.
Tere
Delicious food, very friendly and COVID-conscious staff and lovely, funky vibe. Did I mention the food was delicious? And they have a great variety of original options on the menu. Plentiful outdoor seating and very welcoming to pups, including menu options
Kathy Draper
Saw it on DDD. Where can you go where they have an enclosed warn patio and eat with your dog!! Hot dog! Fantastic food. I had the grilled artichoke sandwich and a spicy Bloody Mary. Fabulous! My husband and 2 friends each had something different and we all loved it. Great service. However...if you look at the menu when you Google this place it is not a current menu. But super fabulous everything! Well worth our 100 mile(one way) trip for lunch!
Trenda Martin
So delicious, I didn’t get a picture before I got a few bites in! The service is awesome (also it wasn’t too busy when I went) Flavorful and well rounded vegetarian option, including vegetarian gravy. The biscuits are amazing. They also have awesome bloody Mary’s with pickled veggies and Chile salt. Prices are fair as well for portions. Shared a meal with a friend, adding avocado and a side of roasted veggies, and we were stuffed!
Kelsey Weinkauf
Delicious food and dog friendly. The prices are a bit high but you get a lot of good quality food for your money. Drip coffee is self-serve in a mug of your choosing, and they'll even give you a to-go cup of you want.
Corinne Johnson
Such a fun place to visit! The food was super tasty and had vegan options /substitutions. My pup really enjoyed her chicken and sweet potato! The vegan tart at the end was a perfect goodbye <3
Mark Bartlett
Honestly I could of gone 5 stars if it wasn't for the long wait. With that being said our waiter was great and the food was excellent. Went for breakfast and I had the special. Tastes so good I am going to try to re-create it at home. While you wait you can serve your own coffee
John Douglass
The biscuits and gravy are some of the best in town. The patio and garden feel cozy without being cramped. The only knock against is that I'd like to see a better beer selection and it can take a while.
Alexis Deacon
We went to Tin Shed for the first time; the food was delicious. Probably the best brunch I have had for many years. I don't even like potato pancakes but I liked theirs - a lot! French toast was so good too. But that's not all. The staff was so warm, welcoming, kind -- as if they really cared! One man in our party had an unusual request -- he wanted his food warmed up. The staff couldn't have been kinder and more helpful. They found a way to do it! We will be back for sure. Amazing food; kind staff. A winning combination.
Phil Hujdic
3 stars because of poor service; food is really a 4+-star experience. Very fresh food from eggs to fruit to potato pancake.
Service may as well not be there. Honesty, I think this place should be a food counter for ordering and open seating. Had reservations and we requested to sit inside, to which we waited just 5 minutes, but were seated next to an 8x12 giant doorway in the makeshift 3 season patio section….which is outside. Oh well. Waitress (I guess) came promptly and took our order. Self serve coffee.
Someone else brought the (great) food. “Waitress” never came around to check on us, we constantly tried to get waitress/hostess attention to no success. My wife got up to speak with anyone and found a different server who was baffled with her speaking to him, eventually deferring her. We finally got some extra sour cream on the side (tablespoon, which is fine) which they charged us for!
Wish they just did take-away orders and you could seat yourself. The experience ruined the great food.
Kelly M. Mueller
Amazing!!! You must get the burrito and use the hot sauce, it was super addicting. This was the first spot we came to after arriving and I thought they did a tremendous job of welcoming us to Portland.
MagickaMidNight2
Make sure to get a reservation. We got lucky since we came too early and there was a table available. The food was super delicious. The mushroom rosemary gravy is worth coming back for.
Stephanie El-Hajj
Consistently good, ol' reliable.
Awesome waiter.
Awesome cheese grits.
Everyone else has already said the words.
Pam Howard
Dogs are welcomed and spoiled here! Great food with awesome friendly and helpful staff! Will be back.
John Cho
Great breakfast and very friendly staff. Biscuit and gravy is simply awesome.
Edgar Uribe
Food was great! Had the Everything Naughty breakfast plate and it did not disappoint. I recommend trying the Peruvian drink chicha morada, it's authentic and good. Service was great as well
Tricia S
Block party atmosphere, dog friendly, & to die for curry (with a side of cheesy grits)...the salad dressing was a caraway-orange-vinaigrette don't miss that. Mixed drinks were eccentric :) told the coffee was excellent & had a serve yourself coffee bar. Patio vibe for the summer was fun, wait staff were on the ball too.
Lilli Spitz
The patio was really nice to sit on and especially since it was covered. The food was really tasty and it was so awesome they were doggy friendly. I wish their doggie menu was a bit more expensive but still great that they had one! I love seeing all the puppers enjoying the patio and their treats. Staff were helpful and friendly. Definitely will be going back!
Rae Lynn Flippo
Really fun place especially for the dog lover. The Veggie Pesto was outstanding!
Kelli Nina Perkins
Very friendly, with that cool arts district vibe. The biscuits were memorably delicious. Everything was well prepared and ample. I appreciated the self serve coffee availability so we could keep ourselves topped up. If we'd have been in town longer we would have returned for more meals. Overheard a local raving about it while we were at another restaurant and so glad we found it. Truly great food and service.
Starret Carless
Very very good food and great service. Make a reservation! They book up fast in the mornings. Everything is good on the menu. The jam and scones remind of fair scones. Will absolutely revisit.
Church Street Holdings LLC
My favorite brunch place in Portland. The food is always delicious. Fairly simple dishes but they do them right, always. Love the outside patio. The wait to get a table can be long, especially on the weekends, so be reserve ahead of time or be prepared.
Emily Van
Tin Shed just keeps getting better and better. The Sit Pretty on the brunch menu is incredible and my dog loves the options for 4 legged customers 🤍 …
Gina Perry
The scrambled eggs were okay but the French toast tasted like a piece of cardboard covered with syrup. My friend had the breakfast burrito and said it was good but mentioned how great the breakfast burrito she had at another restaurant the week before was at least ten times so clearly she wasn't impressed by the one she was eating. Best part of brunch was the ice water.
Maybe Sam (Human on the Internet)
"We have reservations for my favorite breakfast in Portland in 30 minutes" is how I awoke this morning.
A beautiful aesthetic and is very welcome to dogs. With a cute lil dog menu I tell you Andy the dog was very happy to have a second breakfast with us. Great biscuits, great atmosphere and a kind staff.
Ernest M
I was going on a biscuit spree and Portland was really proud of their jam. We stopped by here to meet up with a friend. Coffee and the food was phenomenal. It was like any other cloudy day in Portland but I really enjoyed my time here.
parking: street parking.
Corin Weaver
The food was delicious and beautiful. Our server was very kind and funny. Cute dogs and babies. All around a great brunch.
Amanda Lafollette
Excellent service, and absolutely spectacular food. We had a wonderful time, and this is definitely my new favorite brunch spot in Portland.
Clint Kelley
Fun, delicious breakfast stop! Amazing fresh ingredients from local vendors and Tin Shed's own garden. Delicious menu choices and fresh coffee, kombucha, and beer. Great service! Portion sizes are huge and tasty! My wife and I split a "Stack" with scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, cheese grits, and a fresh biscuit with homemade raspberry jam.
Amanda Lim
This place is amazing. No wonder they call it a portland institution. We went for brunch and loved everything about it. We loved that dogs are welcome. The food is yummy, customizable and well portioned. They have lots of great vegetarian and gluten free options and we didnt mind waiting. Staff kept us in the loop and we just helped ourselves to some coffee and chatted with other diners in the meantime. it feels like you're at home there. Would definitely go back.
Leo Angelo George
Great food. Great service. Great ambience. Definitely a must visit brunch spot. Get here early to get your name on the waiting list on weekends!
Cortney Nickel
Always tasty food. Had the bacon Bloody Mary and I believe it was called the Rollover for brunch. They're doing a great job of keeping people safe during this pandemic too.
Mattlan Ladner
Loved the food here and it was so filling!
Lauren Taylor
Great brunch place! Well worth the wait. We looked at shops down the block to kill time until the table was ready. Dog friendly. I believe there was a ramp into the building. Bloody Marys were awesome. I ordered the skillet with bacon and it was the best skillet I've ever had.
Stephen Northcutt
Fantastic dog friendly opportunity. You can even order for your dog off the menu, mine got the ground beef and sweet potatoes. Food was good, service was OK. I dropped a star because the wine was warm, like hot tea after 3 minutes warm; if you are going to do wine do it right, else stick with beer and cider.
Jacqueline English
Food was good but not many protein options for vegetarians. That said the food was good and the atmosphere was friendly.
Liked the folks who worked there.
Josh Brown
Amazing brunch.
Expect to wait but so worth it.
Lots of vegetarian options, the coffee is strong and flavorful and the servings are full of delicious veggies.
Everyone is super friendly.
Keep up the great work!
Lia Leach
Amazing service, incredible food. Dog friendly. Best burger I think I've ever had. Definitely recommend.
Logan Schantz
Everything was wonderful! Whatever you get, go with the potato cakes. I went with the Good Boy and it was a fantastic blend of flavors!
Beth Bachmayer
Staff was friendly and welcoming. Our host greeted us with a smile and friendly attitude and told us about the self serve coffee. Our server was just as friendly and helpful with what to choose. I had the special banana French toast and that was fresh and filling.
Salli Sticlaru
Absolutely terrific food! Intimate cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff. For what you're getting, well worth the price. Also pet friendly.
Josh Levey
Popular dog friendly brunch spot. Vegan friendly, great food and drinks. Dogs everywhere
Rochelle Bradfield
This restaurant was one of the most amazing experiences for me and my dog stormy. They cater to us and the food was amazing they have their own Dog menu. All the dogs were phenomenal the owners were kind it was by far one of the best experiences I've had with my dog while traveling. I highly highly highly recommend this place
Erica Hunsberger
Hard to find anything wrong with this place! I sat in the patio area near the fireplace on a cool Saturday morning and it was so perfect.
I love that the coffee and tea is self serve. You choose your mug and grab whatever you need. Sometimes I feel a little stressed with people always trying to top off my coffee!
I got the scratch biscuit Benedict w/ canadian bacon, potato cakes, and a side of the pork sausage.
I really appreciated the cook of the sausage, crispy on the outside yet not overdone or dry. The Benedict had plenty of canadian bacon on it and everything was very fresh and tasty.
Jes Braun
Best breakfast food I've had in a very very long time. The vegan sausage and the mushroom gravy were *chef's kiss*.
Bonnie Brumbaugh
Been to this neighborhood joint more than a fair share of times - great vibe and good breakfast. But we'll have to pass from now on in this economy...
My partner and I spent $80(!!!) for breakfast this weekend... we each got a cocktail, but jeez - this is diner food: biscuits, gravy, hashbrowns and eggs! There's definitely been price-creep on all the entrees.
We got the Everything Naughty plate and the Benni.
Eggs come scrambled only and were lukewarm & rubbery. Coffee/water is self-serve. The usually-delicious gravy (I got the mushroom version) was a lifeless, thick, floury lump of white - think "first time making gravy ever" version - didn't even get a hint of mushroom. Potato cakes and cheesy grits were good, as were the cocktails. Staff are friendly but you can tell they're in "rush mode" the entire time so everything feels really impersonal. You won't get any service beyond placing your order.
If you want to pay $8 for a meal for your dog you can.
I used to love this spot but felt particularly ripped off this weekend.
Tonia Aho
Worth the wait! There are a few cute shops and art galleries in the neighborhood to browse while you wait for a table. Brunch was excellent. Gluten free challah french toast was fantastic. I almost didn't believe it was gluten free!
Kayla Szendre
Without a doubt one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Tin Shed incorporates local food into their menu selection and everything is fresh and light. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. I would give this place more than 5 stars if possible!
Matthew Reid
The special was great. The self service coffee, tea, and water were great before being seated. I wish more restaurants would do this!
Sonja Kerschner
My husband and I came on a Monday morning around 10 and they had a 30 minute wait, which was a small annoyance but not a real issue for us as we were vacationing from Sacramento. The servers were friendly, we were able to enjoy coffee and tea while we waited, and when we were finally seated we got to enjoy a DELICIOUS meal (I had the "everything nice" with zucchini bread french toast and pork sausage, my husband had the Spike burrito), at a totally fair price! Would recommend.
Scott Besemann
great food, great employees and it's open earlier than most places. love the grits but has a number of vegan options for those interested!
Jodi Williams
The place was packed so I didn’t stop but they are dog friendly and I love that but my dog is not that friendly so I figured I shouldn’t stop because she would probably make a huge scene on the patio
Theresa Marler
Always a great experience. Amazing service. Delicious food. I love that they love dogs!
Brian Morgan
Busy neighborhood cafe with indoor/outdoor seating options. Food is EXCELLENT. Staff were very friendly. This place can get busy, but put yourself in the list and they will text you when your table is ready, leaving you free to check out the nearby boutiques.
Isabel Prince
Love it! Dog friendly and have a great tasty menu! Just wish on the dog food they had a size option, I got my corgi the sweet potato and chicken and it was kinda a small portion, so I just wish I could have ordered a larger size.
Andy Smith
This place is a hidden gem for dog owners. We loved the human food that we ordered and our dog loved her dog treat as well. The atmosphere was inviting and chill. The other dogs seemed to be really chill won't. The occasional bark here and there. The wait staff was super friendly and dog lovers themselves. Well worth the trip.
Mariah Patton
Great homemade hot sauce and lots of choices! Very thick and garlicky bloody mary too! Cute outdoor seating area and many dogs to watch as it attracts many dog lover/owners.
Justin Cook
Anywhere that is dog friendly (with dog specific menu items) is ok in my books. It helps the food and service is excellent too!
Sonya Arnis
I was completely blown away by my experience here! The service was impeccable and our servers were so attentive. The food was INCREDIBLE. This is definitely the best brunch place I’ve been to in Portland and I’ve lived here for 4 years! I also love seeing all the dogs around because of their dog menu, this place is truly one of a kind.
Mindy Newdiger
This place was absolutely amazing. My husband who normally puts hot sauce on everything didn't need anything on his food because the flavors were so good. The biscuits are flaky and moist and their bacon gravy was so good. We sat outside and it felt so nice. The wait wasn't too long and there was a nice little coffee shop next door that has amazing tea and coffee.
Rick Glassman
Went there for breakfast with a group of friends. I just flew in from San Francisco. Ate breakfast which was delicious I had an everything nice. After eating breakfast I received in the leg cramp. Leg cramp had me in tears the staff make sure I was okay with asking me if I needed anything. They gave me a banana and some water. A few moments later I was able to walk again. The staff here is awesome extremely caring. The food is delicious this is a return for me!
Molly
The pickle infused Bloody Mary is incredible ! Get it.
The food was delicious, vegan pesto had great flavor. Staff was really pleasant.
It's popular for good reason, but of course means quite a wait on the weekends. Call ahead for reservations.
Tiahnan Trent
We got the Sinful French toast and the Naughty platter, accidentally theming our breakfast after crime. Exceptional food. Really solid across the board, and we were particularly impressed by the biscuits and gravy. We sat right next to the fireplace on the patio, which was very cozy, and the service was really exceptional.
Joshua Campos
Great delicious food. I have gone twice in a week. The potatoes with the feta dipping sauce are too good to pass up!
I really like that they are dog friendly. Because it is popular you should definitely make reservations and add where you want to sit.
Catherine L
There are days that I want nothing more than the cheesy grits from this lovely little place but 6 hours round trip for food is crazy. When I’m in Portland I have a hard time branching out to other places for breakfast/brunch.
Dog friendly, the atmosphere is happy and relaxed, bar beverages are tasty and the food has never disappointed.
Also worth noting are the non-gendered bathrooms. Inclusivity would get me to come back in support even if the food was just good.
Lauren Braun
Delicious flavors and friendly service! Hearty meals with delicious flavors, both classic and adventurous. I had the Lazarus quesadilla, which was an amazing combination of spicy (jalapeno & aioli) and sweet (raspberry jam & sweet potatoes). I loved having my dog there with me too! It was cold and rainy outside but we were happy and warm here.
Valerie N.
Amazing service. We sat inside with our 2 dogs. Visiting from Los Angeles, so this was an amazing outing with our pooches!
Tara Howe
Long wait, but worth it. Great service and the food was fantastic!
Emma Slay
Delicious breakfast and wonderful service!
We came in on a Tuesday, and were
seated immediately. Service was quick! The portion was the perfect size and everything was delicious. Definitely stop in for a classic, comforting brunch!
One thing! It was a bit chilly inside, especially on a cold winter day
Robert Levy
My dog and I both loved our meals. The Shed on Fire is a perfect beverage for a cold Portland day. Gravy is legit. Potato pancake was a delight. Staff were all sweet as buttons.
Izabela
Slow service at times but the food is amazing! Ive had the benny with bacon and avocado and the burritos. Will keep coming back! Make the body mary spicy!!
Alex Eby
My wife and I were just in town for a short time but this place came highly recommended! We split the "Everything Naughty" plate and it was outstanding. The staff was friendly and helpful and we definitely would recommend you check this place out!
Sean Piva
Just awesome! Food, employees, area, all of it! Our waiter, Brian was fantastic. AND they have a dog menu?! What more could you want.
Jean-Raphaël Poulin
Great outdoor section, nice staff and a good selection of breakfasts. Try the biscuit!
William Rees
Great outdoor and indoor set-up. The service was fast and friendly and the food was incredible. I would probably go back for breakfast each morning if I could.
Shyam Ananda
Been coming here since 2007…
Still the best breakfast in PDX:
Get the Good Dog
…also the best service,
Keep up the good work
Thanks for hiring nice people with actual customer service skills (rare).
Tim Larson
Wow... was not prepared for how delicious this breakfast was. Getting gravy on your biscuits is a must! We were just visiting and this place was recommended... so pleased! So good!
Tasha H
A bit of a wait without a reservation but well worth it! Food was really really good 😋😋
Rick Petri
Great bloody Mary with bacon infused vodka, food was very good and the wait want too bad. Plenty of places to check out while you wait. Service was very good too.
Mathew Kuehl
Went here for breakfast on a Saturday, I mean we were there at opening time 7 a.m. If you don't want to wait in line I recommend you get here between 7 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. people started arriving more heavily at the 7:30 mark. I was between the bacon and rosemary gravy since reviews went both ways, I had the rosemary thanks to waiter's recommendation and loved it on my everything naughty plate.
Anna Winters
Amazing staff and delicious food. Very dog friendly!
Dean Montgomery
BACON GRAVY biscuits and gravy. My favorite gravy in the city. Everything we tried was excellent and crafted with care. Love this place.
N. Doe
Food was good, but prices were high and I can’t get behind serving myself coffee for $4 a cup. We went during the week for brunch and there was no wait.
Adina Beth Rubin
Another good experience. I met up with a friend and he brought his girlfriend so we could all reunite. We haven't hung out together since before the Pandemic.
FOOD: Once again, I had the Veggie Pesto. The food was hot and tasty. Thank you, Tin Shed and the kitchen staff, for always putting the food first. The wait is still worth it.
SERVICE: Tin Shed was so busy today that we ended up being sat indoors, instead of at our usual table on the patio under the heater, and close to the fireplace. My friend's girlfriend was cold. It was warmer inside, but I was nervous about COVID-FLU exposure. Airflow was less when compared to sitting out on the patio area, but patio doors were open to allow for airflow to the inside dining area. No one I saw wore a mask.
ATMOSPHERE: The music today was a bit too rough and loud for our tastes which kept us from fully relaxing. The service was friendly, but the staff were busy and we were not "checked in on" as often as in previous visits.
Sarah Robins-Barber
Best eggs benedict ever!! I get mine with bacon and arugula, because yum!
Alexandra Karla
Always looking to come back to this place! Tons of vegetarian options & some options for dogs as well. Friendly staff, tasty food, and a very "Portland" feel.
Joe Cali
Great coffee you get by yourself, mainly due to the wait which can be long. Indoor/outdoor seating. Food was damn good, especially the biscuits & gravy. Full bar inside as well.
Jason Veenstra
The food was awesome! Would love to stop again next time in town. The artwork was super cool too!
Justin Jones
Absolutely amazing food and drinks. Pet friendly, so lots of sweetie sightings. Friendly staff and great service.
Angel August
While we waited for a table I was able to enjoy a cup of coffee and sit on a bench. My dog was acknowledged by the hostess and nice waiter Brian, he gave great customer service to every table he waited on I saw. The food was delicious (gluten free garden burger)and the water was served in cute little mason jars. They even had options on the menu for my dog Charli :) definitely would come back again
Geoff Bond
Such a delightful meal and drink great covid 19 friendly atmosphere safe and great staff
Jomar Ferreras
Consistently solid. Good portion sizes and always filling. Love how dog friendly they are
katy reyers
Want your dog to think you’re the best parent in the world? Take them here. The dog offerings are down to 2. My pup isn’t a fan of the desert option so we get her the chicken dish. She also gets some nibbles from mine. Staff is fantastic, human food is drool drool and flexes from hangover foods to healthy options. Love Tim shed!
Kevin Logan
Fantastic spot near around Northeast Portland with a beautiful outdoor setup. It's usually busy, so make sure to reserve a spot in advance but definitely worth the wait. Our brunch food hit the spot! Definitely try their homemade sauces, we loved the frozen raspberry one.
Alan Bennett
They have a nice range from old school comfort food to vegan and gluten-free options - there's something good here for everyone!
Sabrina Stephens
Excellent service and food! Definitely going back love that they are pet friendly and have dog meals on the menu!
James Reiber
I was born and raised in Portland. The Tin Shed has been my favorite breakfast spot since it opened many years ago.
Niki R
Very dog friendly place with food options on the menu for your furry friends! It gets busy so make a reservation for busy weekend mornings!
Rachel Raynes
Great food and the epitome of dog friendly. Enclosed, heated patio and a dog menu. I’m so impressed and will be back!
Daniel Casey
Clean food, fresh ingredients friendly staff who takes pride in their craft. One of the best breakfast joints in Portland!
Tim Rozengurtel
This place is very popular, especially on the weekends. So it was nice to get in here on a weekday off.
I had the Everything Nice dish and my wife had one of the scrabbles. The food was delicious and the portions were generous.
Service was friendly and attentive.
They serve Portland Roasters coffee.
I love the dog friendliness here and even special doggie menu items. It was raining hard on the day of our visit here. So we left our special guy at home. Maybe we can bring him with next time.
Andrea Coley
Affordable and delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Great place to eat in Portland. Thank you 😊
Melissa Barker
So glad I waited to eat here! It took a little over an hour but it was exactly the quoted wait and worth every minute. Great hostess, didnt catch her name. Cute place- I love all the outdoor and open air seating.
Marie was a great server! Really friendly and quick. Everything was honestly perfect. My mimosa was not expensive but somehow pint glass sized. Good coffee and really quick refills from the entire staff. I had the veggie Benedict with asparagus and leek and it was one of the best things I have ever had for brunch. 10/10 will be back.
My only regret is how hard it will be to try anything new in the area now that I know how good Tin Shed is.
doylesarah pal
The food & drinks were quite good, we had the San Francisco sandwich and the Rattatoile. The ginger infused whiskey with ginger ale, & the cherry infused whiskey Manhattan. The management was smart enough not to pack in as many tables as they could've so that the kitchen can keep up.
The biggest bummer is that they have bought into the whole "bring your dog into a place where people eat" thing.
Paul Lee Dean
A dog friendly restaurant with wonderful food and a friendly service. I cannot wait to visit again.
Ruth Miles
I really enjoyed this place. There with a friend who is vegan and our Bernese Mountain Dog. There are menu choices for both the dog and our vegan friend. They both enjoyed their meal and mine was also really good. I had the bacon and avocado Benedict. It's really rich, so the hollandaise needed a tiny bit more acid to cut all that richness. Coffee was strong and served up with a fabulous smile from our excellent server.
Louise Lauman
Had breakfast here. Delicious. Scrambled eggs biscuit sausage and potatoes. Friendly staff!!
Y L
I absolutely love this place! The staff are all so friendly and helpful! We love the hot pepper Mary, biscuits and gravy, the two different kinds of breakfast burritos and the breakfast specials like, fetch and good dog! Everything we’ve ever ordered from here has been so delicious. The leftovers heat up well the next day 😉 (I always have leftovers; portions are great and I can never finish the food, but my fiancé is able to finish all of his food so it depends on your appetite I suppose). The food is all fresh, the sauces are awesome and the atmosphere is on point! Can’t wait to go back for our next visit! We’ve been here about 6 times for brunch in the last two weeks 😆
Samuel M
Make sure you place an online reservation in advance! Great food and fast service.
Sam Pryor
We had breakfast here and thoroughly enjoyed our time! Great food and excellent service. Be sure to make a reservation!!
Imandra McKenzie
This is my favorite brunch spot! Would always recommend. Super friendly people working there, very open and dog friendly.
Lily Poon
Thank you God for tin shed. You have to wear a mask, order and pay first then they will bring your order to your table. Fastest time to get food ever from here. Same food and and service.
Christopher Tolo
Great food and welcoming space. Highly recommended for a chill health breakfast.
Talee & Trina Travels
Excellent food and staff were extremely friendly. We did call and ask for a reservation, although we still waited over 20 minutes to get seated. The food was wonderful, and the drinks were fun to watch (sat at the bar). The passionfruit mamosa was great!
Will Leonard
I caught an early breakfast here, they weren't too busy. I ordered the everything naughty, which amounted to an overcooked biscuit w/gravy, a sausage link, scrambled eggs, and a potato cake with sour cream on it. The food was fine, other than the biscuit, but the price didn't match at $17.
I'm not from this neighborhood, just staying with friends and trying a different spot for every meal. The other places I've tried in the neighborhood are similarly priced, but the food has all been a step or two above the tin shed. It's fine fare, but I wouldn't go out of the way for it.
Timothy Pedregon
If this place could get more than 5 stars it would. The meatloaf with sauted kale was delicious.
Taylor K
Love this place every time we come to town to see family we make a point go here. Specials are always very good. Chill atmosphere reminds me of growing up in Bellingham and the community Cafés there.
Big bonus that it's dog friendly
Vipul Kohli
Great place for comfort food on a wet rainy day in Portland. Plan to wait 30-60 min. Many choices for eggs and sandwiches . Good cocktails too.
Heather Helton
This is one of the most, if not the most, dog friendly restaurants in Portland!! Great food, amazing service, and they have a menu for puppies!! CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS. :-) Family friendly as well. Thank you Tin Shed for the great Sunday morning breakfast!
Jordan Stachowski
We ordered the biscuits & gravy and breakfast sandwich special. The food was sensational. Also greatly enjoyed the Passionfruitopia mimosa. Didn't care for the bloody mary.
Friendly staff. Dog friendly. Try the hot sauce and raspberry jam.
Natalee Turpin
Cute little place with terrific food. Biscuits and bacon gravy were fantastic.
Danella Durieux
The tin shed is one of my favorite restaurants for breakfast!! Friendly staff, cute dogs and dank food 🐕 …
Andrew Rogers
Fantastic food and pet friendly patio. Great gluten free and vegan options, but everything is good
Ashanti “Blacktacular” Hall
Got there on a Monday morning and got right in without a reservation. (They can be quite packed but not usually on Mondays). The place is spacious open and nice. The food was good. I ordered the first thing on the menu, basically a standard breakfast... My over-medium eggs were perfect, no runnyness to the whites at all. It did come with a biscuit that was cold and they didn't give me anything to put on it until I asked... That was a little weird... The biscuit was pretty good for a cold one. (It was about 8:45 am, so they hadn't been open long)
Had a mojito... it was solid, nothing stands out about it.
Servers took a little while for how not packed it was, but they were personable... overall I'd totally eat there again.
Willa-Jo Wonder-Pug & Friends
This place was AMAZING! What a wonderful atmosphere, loved taking our pugs in! Food is excellent and service was above and beyond! (The cute 8 week old pug puppy at our table might've helped a little with that!) 10/10 recommend!
Tracy Williams
This is one of my favorite vegetarian focused restaurants I've ever been to! It's cute and has a cozy atmosphere. The fireplace is stunning and it's a dog friendly place which you don't really see anywhere. My favorite dish to order is the heartless artichoke sandwich! It's absolutely amazing and I highly recommend it. 10/10.
Molly McWaters
Love this place. It's popular so there's usually a wait. Worth it.
John Tunca
Awesome! Great chill atmosphere and dogs are allowed inside. Food is yummy and they have menu items for the pups.
Neha Didwaniya
Love that my dog and us can eat a meal together. Really good breakfast. Well worth the wait
Aurora Bell
Staff was amazing and so friendly! The food was DELICIOUS! I'm sad l live in Utah because I can't come eat here everyday. The veggie sausage was just amazing and I wish I could eat it always instead of regular sausage.
Sarah Sisson
Picked up some takeout from this favorite because I was craving some Tin Shed brunch!! GOSH IT IS JUST SO FREAKING DELICIOUS EVERY TIME
Todd Dickerson
The food and service is great! I would have givin them 5 stars but their black coffee is really terrible. They need to improve that :/
I’d still recommend the place though just don’t order a coffee
Jesse Galloway
A popular brunch/lunch joint with fantastic food. We had the artichoke sandwich with chicken and a scramble. The food was excellent, the cocktails were decent.
Be sure to make a reservation!
Sarah Letty
Food was good but nothing was memorable. Would go again. Nice variety and plenty of fresh ingredients. Service was friendly but slow, it looks like they were busier than expected. Restaurants that make everything slightly pressured and rushed and uncomfortable probably have a quicker turn around time per table, I'm glad this wasn't that kind of place... but I'm betting that one more server would have gotten everyone in and out 15 mins faster, and would pay for itself by the end of the day. Easier said than done.
Andy Peterson
Delicious breakfast place that also serves lunch. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Interesting interior, very portland.
Cathi Kelley
We were in Portland from Seattle. The Eggs Benedict were on point. The place is dog friendly and they even have puppy dishes on the menu! Can’t wait to go back to Portland so we can visit again!
Relentless 21
One of my favorite breakfast places. I moved to Seattle several years ago and still go here for breakfast when I am in town. The food and vibe are great. Dog friendly too.
Jay Kothari
They have some good breakfast plates. I liked their Everything Naughty. Their special (omelette with sun-dried tomatoes and sausage) was good, but I personally found it a slight bit lacking. Would go back to check out their other breakfast plates. Oh yes, and dogs are allowed on the covered patio. 😊 …
Anna Bass
So tasty! Everything my partner and I ordered was delicious and used fresh ingredients. It's really nice that you can reserve the patio online. We felt very safe while we ate. Highly recommend tin shed!
Kalenah M
Really cute place to have lunch. A bit higher in price than your average place, but they have fresh, good food, so it was worth it. We took our dog and there were 2 others already on the patio as well. We had a nice waiter and got our pup a bit of food from the dog menu. She loved it, though it was a bit pricey as well. All together, it was a very nice experience.
Kelvin Chan
Great food, great service as always. I try to make a stop for brunch here each time. Dog friendly patio. The biscuits are really light fluffy and delicious. The coffee is good as well. The chicken apple sausage was nicely cooked and tasty. The habanero sauce is bloody delicious. I'd buy a bottle to bring home but I'd finish it in 1 day. The house strawberry Jam is nice as well. Our server was super nice and great service.
Amanda Slocum
Food: awesome sandwich, salad, and kombucha. Service: a little... unfriendly the day I went
Lady TH
This place is consistently amazing for take out. Get The Fetch!
Flavius Govindaraj
I loved the menu options, I didn't end up loving my food but the dog friendly space and AMAZING staff. We sat in the covered tin part where dogs were allowed - not because we have a dog but because we like to be near dogs. Our host was coming around with water with a smile right on time, just lovely. Our server was knowledgeable - a great conversationalist; I'm not sure why I loved them service so much except other than everyone was amazing. Beet and goat cheese salad was good
Paul Stanislaw
Amazing food, great cocktails, and the host/server was outrageously friendly and welcoming.
Daedra Buntin
Always have to wait to be seated, because this place is THAT amazing! Love the house made, fresh biscuits with jam more than anything. Mimosas are a tasty treat. They have a special menu for the pups. I love checking out all the visiting pups. Delicious food, friendly service and worth every moment.
Victory Martin
Great service good food. Almost too busy but that’s the facts.
L K
The server got my friend's order wrong, but my friend was nice about it, the server was nice about it. It all went fine. He brought biscuits to go, offered her coffee to go, apologized about 10 times. As usual, the food we got was great. I love the potatoes pancakes, in particular. It was a "few dogs" day, so that was a bummer!🐕☺ …
Christopher Simmons
Wow. Been twice now and really impressed with the service and food. The pumpkin bread french toast was soooooooo good. They serve Portland Roasters coffee which was good. Dog friendly in covered/enclosed patio area. Sit next to the fireplace if cold. Our new breakfast place.
Ashley Williams
We have arrived around 8 am on a Saturday. We were agreeable to sitting at the bar so we had no wait. The staff were super friendly and very quick. I ordered the breakfast curry and it was was scrumptious, my dining partner ordered the biscuits and bacon gravy which were equally amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant for brunch!
Jessica Prendergast
Great food. I had an everything nice sampler. This time of year, my french toast was pumpkin bread and that was a little overly dense and mushy, although the flavor was nice, but outside of that... great atmosphere. Amazing bacon! Good potato cakes. Presentation and service were great, too.
Jer Baum
Such a great spot. the food was lovely and the ambiance was just what we were looking for, for brunch. Bryan is a great server and helped us decide from their great menu.
If you like cornbread, you'll love this place. Try to get a seat next to the fire on the patio, very chill and cozy.
this place is dog friendly, which is great for dog owners.
Kevin Hoover
Came here on a Wednesday morning @ 9:00 with my Mens Breakfast Group. Funky place that is very dog friendly and has good food and service! Self serve coffee & tea (which makes a lot of sense) and a good variety of options to indulge yourself in. Waitperson was very friendly and the place got pretty busy by the time we left around 10:30.
It was nice to not have any issues with the four legged visitors as I have been to some places that the pets were a nuisance, but not here...very easy to enjoy our meal without interruptions.
Darian Townsend
Service and food was excellent. Plenty of parking to be found in the surrounding neighborhood. Great place to experience some uniquely Portland food.
Jason Santos
What a fantastic experience! 10/10, will come again! It started with requesting a table. There was a bit of a wait, but instead of making us sit outside, they took our number, and offered to text us when a table was close to being ready.
All staff were super friendly, drinks were well crafted, and the food was amazing. Majorly dog friendly, with lots of puppers hanging about.
Vivian Chen
Been here twice and I gotta say this spot is definitely better for breakfast/lunch versus dinner. I tried their burgers on my first visit and it definitely looked better than it tasted. The breakfast/lunch options are much tastier. But of course the best part of the experience here is watching all the adorable dogs! Main downside of my trips here have been the service. Not bad but wouldn't call them friendly either.
Pam van Straubenzee
Amazing breakfast here. Had the gluten free mix with gf french toast scrambled eggs fruit bacon and potatoes. So good I wanted to go back the next day. Good coffee not as strong tasting as stump town. Fun atmosphere with outdoor covered area allowing dogs. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Jen Green
Tin Shed was recommended by one of our tour guides. Worth the drive!!! Delish!
Nathan Taylor
Absolutely fantastic dinner. The wait staff were excellent and went above and beyond to make our experience top notch. My wife and I had 4 dishes between us and everything was great. I will say my mac/cheese was just average however it was a side item to a fabulous meatloaf and perhaps was simply overshadowed but the other outstanding food.
I would certainly recommend. I planned to return the next day but was tied up with other obligations.
Judy Battaglia
Great food. We sat in the fireplace room and I loved all the dogs! They were so laid back and well behaved. One of the best things about Portland.
The Heartless Artichoke is a work of art. We also had a marvelous server. The wait was well worth it.
Alex Banng
An interesting place with really good food. They are extremely dog friendly if you don't know, they even have a "indoor" nicely covered area you can bring your dog and have them sit by you while you eat. They even have a very small dog menu if you want. Water and dog bowls are also offered. If you haven't checked it out and have a well behaved dog it's definitely worth the time.
Amy Barnard
The food, atmosphere and wait staff were fantastic. I had the heartless artichoke sandwich and a traditional bloody Mary with added bacon. Amazing. Honestly some of the best and unique brunch food we've had in ages.
Eric Nowak
A genial little breakfast/lunch joint not to be passed up in the Alberta Arts area.
My wife and I dipped into the cafe expecting to grab a coffee and nothing else. Having been seated quickly by the hostess, we figured we may as well look at the menu. At first glance we thought prices to be a little off-putting considering we weren’t initially looking to dine. We settled on our dishes now quick fashion. The menu isn’t large but contains some delicious sounding meals. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I grabbed a coffee from the self-serve coffee/tea station while we waited for our order. Our seats gave a clear view of the kitchen/cooks. Clearly hair nets are not required but hipster beanies and a nose or lip ring are. The food arrived quickly, and our concern at the prices were entirely unjustified. Great taste and good portions left us satisfied, and overhearing the hipster cooks discuss ‘the effects that The Land Before Time II/Sailor Moon had on the men they had become today’ was icing on the proverbial cake for us.
We were glad we popped in. Given the opportunity we would definitely dine again.

Love, love, love this place! Fabulous food! Fabulous people!! Everything is made to order with fresh ingredients and simply delicious. So impressed with the staff. They all appear to love their job and love serving their community. Very welcoming Portland vibe that honors diversity at every turn. Best dog-friendly dining too, so bring fido or come get your dog fix. Everything about this place is special. Heartless Artichoke is the best!
Sean H
Let me start off by saying I don’t typically give 5 stars- but this place is great. Amazing even! Why? The food is delicious and consistent. The menu is short and they do an excellent job at what they do. Next is the service. I have been here about 3 times in the last year and had the same server. The dude is mellow and kind, does a great job.
Some people might not like the self service water and coffee, so if that’s not your jam...just eat more of their homemade jam.
Lilo Alfaro
Service was excellent. Dog patio was a great environment for the pup. The food was blah. The long wait is not really worth it unless you're there to take your dog out for breakfast. If you just want a good breakfast/brunch, there are plenty of other restaurants on Alberta.
Trevor Elson
Great spot for breakfast with the family. Servers were extra nice, polite, and very helpful. Got the classic Benedict and was impressed the eggs were poached perfectly. Definitely coming back!
Tracy McFarlane
Good solid menu options, from meaty to vegan. Unlimited coffee fills and you can get it yourself, no waiting.
They love dogs and even have a part of the menu with selections for your furry companions.
Lines can be long, best to go during off hours. Service is good, wait staff has always been friendly and on point.
Samantha Kahn
The bacon gravy is excellent over eggs and potato pancakes. I strongly recommend the biscuits, too, though the coffee could be better. OTOH the coffee is pour your own and you can drink it while waiting for a table. Dog-friendly and kid-friendly with a nice yard and enclosed patio (better than sitting "inside"). Staff are great. Best time to go is weekday mornings.
Ryan E
One of the best breakfasts in town, the biscuits and gravy are noteworthy. Great service, and pro tip they take reservations for breakfast.
Shelley Barr
So many doggos! Their patio is dog heaven. They even have a small dog menu. I brought my 1.5 yr old pug mix there and he felt really pampered, loved meeting other friendly dogs, and even people without dogs loved petting them! Food was great and so was the service! Would definitely recommend as a solid spot for Portland brunch. Beware though, the wait can be around 45 minutes or longer (Friday around 1). You can hang at case study coffee if you don't have a doggo joining you, or grab a cup to go. I've never sat inside as I always come with pup in toe. Great location!
Greg Cowan
I'm a big fan of Tin Shed. Been going here for years sometimes as many as a couple times a week. Almost always we go for breakfast. It's best to arrive early if you can. On a weekend there's a line by 815 or 830. Egg scrambles are excellent and huge. Two reasonable eaters can split one. Service staff are great - attentive and easy going. You can get a fine Bloody Mary in the am if you're so inclined. Dogs are welcome in the shed which in the winter is enclosed and heated (still good to be a little for the outside in the winter). Overall great place.
Paola Figueredo
We loved visiting the Tin Shed. It’s very very busy during the weekends so you might want to reserve, also parking can be very limited.
Food tastes great and it’s very spacious, also pet friendly 🙌🏼💕
The only bad thing was one of their restrooms was dirty so there was only one available at the time we visited.
Stacie Yosh
I love this place. I love the atmosphere, the food, the housemade raspberry jam, all of it. There can be a long wait depending on the day and time you go, but it's worth it if you've got the time. The dog friendly patio is covered and warm and while there's occasionally some extra noise from the barking, it's never been enough to disturb my meal. Great breakfast and great drinks!
Sara Burch (Sara Jean)
Great food, wonderful service and cute seating area.
Cassie Fowler
We were visiting Portland from San Diego, and this place was recommended by a friend. It definitely did not disappoint! The wait was a bit longer than we expected for brunch on a Monday, but we were offered coffee while we waited... and once we were inside and got our food, we realized it was absolutely worth the wait!! I had the "Everything Naughty," with a small size of cheesy grits, so I'd be able to try a bit of everything! The biscuits and bacon gravy, cheesy grits, potato cakes, and chicken apple sausage were all absolutely incredible!! My husband had the special, which was basically a bunch of deliciousness piled on top of the potato cakes and covered in bacon gravy... he loved it!! Thanks for a delicious (and very filling!) start to our day, Portland! Oh and P.S. - they serve PINT-SIZED MIMOSAS!!! So good!!!
Susana Quan
Great breakfast with unusual but delicious ingredient combinations. We had one with eggs, Brie, artichokes and ham to die for. It came with a real good home made biscuit and homemade raspberry jam I loved. They have self serve coffee which was a first for me but I liked the concept as it liberated the servers from making sure you get your coffee and refills. I’ll definitely be back.
Adam Hegewald
Very tasty cuisine. Our breakfast was delicious. Get there early. The patio is charming but if the fans are on....prepare to eat fast if you are a hot food freak. Staff was SUPER friendly. Not a fan of the self serve coffee and water bar.
Ben Beekman
The food is fantastic, especially the meals for dogs. We like to order take-out here and picnic with our dog.
Brian Flanigan
Amazing atmosphere for a date, even with families at surrounding tables!
Amazing (and strong) cocktails!
Amazing House Mac & Cheese!
And the best part... when so many restaurants now make you wait in line to order, and/or bus your own table, while still expecting a tip...the service here was perfect! friendly, laid back, and deserving!
Josh Wickstrom
The food here is delicious and they serve your dog as well. Make sure that you set aside time as the wait can be 30 min. to 2 hrs. before you're seated, but they do have coffee to drink while you do. The staff is very accommodating and is creative when you need help ordering. The biscuits are some of the best I've had and even better with their jam on them.
Catherine Hingson
Love the history, want to support the owners, good menu, fun place to go with socialized dogs. Not so fun that you must register online to reserve a place. It took half an hour to get a biscuit and latte to-go and expensive given the service.
Carleda Tinkler
Very good food with lots of variety. Great help yourself coffee bar so you can drink coffee while you wait for a table. Pet friendly. Has outside setting too if it's hot or just want a pleasant place to eat with your furry friend. Wait staff always very friendly and accommodating. Will always go back when I'm visiting Portland!
Kyuho Kim
Healthy and delicious brunch. Great place in Alberta area. Got lucky and didn't wait at all.
Gary Diehl
Great food, terrific service and very welcoming for the pooch!
Seneca Spurling
Excellent! Very nice people and space, lots of really nice outdoor space. For the most part, excellent food and drinks. Spicy passion fruit cocktail was so good! The zucchini bread french toast is moist and delicious. Fluffy tasty cheese grits. Good biscuit but not my favorite style. Only disappointment was the fruit garnish - all lackluster. Kiwi unripe, and lousy blackberries and piece of grapefruit just not good. But the breakfast burrito, scramble with brie apples and chicken sausage and the Nice breakfast combo were all excellent.
Jarryd Mitchell
I have never not had a fantastic experience at Tin She'd. If you want to get in with no wait I suggest you arrive before 9am. Scrambles are amazing (particularly the Good Dog). Place is dog friendly on the patio, so it's a good place to people and dog watch as well. Food is always consistent and staff is very attentive and friendly without being pushy. My favorite brunch spot in Portland.
keuris fernandez
My Everything Naughty with veggie patties was delicious along with excellent service!
Eilene S
I love this place. It has delicious food (I usually come for breakfast so I can't say much about their other meals) and great mimosas. They also have the best outdoor area that allows you to bring your dog, it's comfortable even in the winter! Long waits on the weekends, but that's Portland for you!
Geoff Mitchell
This is such a solid Portland breakfast/lunch/brunch spot. The food is always high quality and delicious. They make their own incredible hot sauce and sell it by the bottle; I try to always have some on hand at home. There is frequently a line, but they're a very professional operation and they handle the pace well, turning tables quickly without rushing the dining experience. The best part, though, is how nice everyone is. Some places that are this popular develop kind of an attitude, like we're lucky to be able to eat there. Somehow, Tin Shed has stayed humble despite their success. Highly recommended!
Rachel Raburn
Everything about this place was fantastic. The atmosphere was casual and the staff were super friendly. The food was unique with great flavor and freshness. We stopped here during happy hour after a long hike and were pleasantly surprised by the filling happy hour selections. An added bonus is that we were able to bring our dog. She thoroughly enjoyed an entree and dessert from the canine menu. I loved being able to have her there and not be forced to eat outside in the weather or receive strange stares from other patrons. There were other dogs there, you could tell it was just normal.
Jonathan Hart
Very nice breakfast and fantastic staff. I don't go out for breakfast much but we really enjoyed it today.
Courtney Neumann
Quaint little spot with exceptional service and delicious meals! Very impressed.
Taylor
I love this place. There was a wait to be seated, but they did offer to call my cell when it was my turn. The wait wasn't too bad, and I got to enjoy their self serve coffee bar while waiting. I had time to take my dog for a lap around two blocks and then my table was ready. The coffee was delicious. The food, I got what's called Everything Naughty, and it's worth writing home about. It was so good. I was pretty hungry when I got there, so I had wished at the end of the plate for a bigger portion. I ordered a coffee drink with a few different alcohols I think it was also called Naughty, but it was amazing and beautifully served. It was a little on the expensive side, but it was amazing. Not sure if I'd pay that much for it again. The waiter was on point even with a really busy restaurant to take care of. The food was fresh and delicious. Seeing other dogs in there and people from all walks of life was the communal feeling of keeping Portland weird and I loved it!
Anjali Gola
Omg amazing food. I dont know how I have not eaten here before. Everything on our table of 4 was amazing. I would definitely come again. Very dog friendly they had dog food on the menu. The outside is nicely shady and the garden is nice. Tables arent too close. All in all, great place
Lori McPherson
Greasy, long wait, but they let you help your self to coffee while you wait to get really full of Rosemary Gravy on cheesy grits
Robin
Nicely sized portions and good tasting food. Prices seem a little high, but that seems to be the trend. The waiters were friendly and attentive. I appreciate that they had a decently sized breakfast burrito on offer!
T Peterson
Everything we had was delicious. Sunday morning they were busy, but only a fifteen minute wait. The staff just flowed. We were visiting from Seattle and it was the highlight of our trip. We had the everything naughty and the good dog. Wow worth the drive. Home made biscuits with fresh raspberry jam. Thank you we will be back.
Alberto Mendez
This is the best "Biscuit & Gravy" dish I've ever had and I lived in Arkansas for 2 years!
Diane Doperoy
Simply marvelous! The food was delicious and the service was great. I recommend the biscuits and homemade raspberry jam. The grits were creamy and buttery with just the right amount of cheese!
Marcadius Rose
Very good food. I'm only taking off a star because I'm really not a dog person and dogs and dog things are everywhere. If you're a dog person, definitely a 5 star experience.
Heather S
Cute little restaurant. Friendly staff and we loved that our dogs could join us outside. Food takes awhile because it's all fresh but is totally worth the wait!
Randall Cook
Delicious food and very dog-friendly. Salads, burgers and oatmeal were excellent. And our dog loved the grilled chicken and sweet potato dish they prepared for her. Amazing self-service tea too.
We were traveling with our dog and wanted a place that could accommodate all of us. Tin Shed came through for us. Their patio area is sort of outside, but in winter with the windows closed it was not cold at all.
Alexa Byers
Excellent food and super service! We had to wait a bit, despite having a reservation. We were freezing cold outside, but we wanted to be outside, so that was our issue. Definitely enjoyed this neighborhood joint. Would go back but will do either takeout or wait until the weather gets warmer.
Richard Blake
Awesome place. Dog friendly and person friendly. Their sausage is awesome, french toast is a banana bread hybrid with a good amount of fruit. Kinda pricey but worth it for good, local, fresh food and kind waiters.
Jason Sabino
We really love that there is a separate dog menu! There is a separate patio area right outside the restaurant that’s outdoors, so dogs can eat with their humans. It’s very welcoming, and the food is great! My wife loved the risotto, and my friend loved the tofu and beans. Sometimes the wait time can be pretty bad, depending on the time of day. If it’s a busy night like a weekend, you might be waiting as long as 30 minutes to an hour so just keep that in mind. There is no way to have reservations ahead of time. All in all, it’s a great restaurant in the middle of a wonderful neighborhood!
David Lee
How much you'll enjoy your experience here depends on how much you like to wait. The food is good, it's fantastic they allow dogs (Yay!), and the staff are pleasant. But it's a small place and even with tables seemingly free the wait was close to an hour at 11 am on a summer weekday. Hopes of getting in for an early lunch were dashed. It was still an overall positive for me, but I'd rather find places that are as good with less of a wait.
Kylie
One of my top breakfast places. They get very busy, especially on Saturday/ Sunday mornings.
Still, I will always be willing to wait. Love their breakfast burrito and their gravy both regular and vegan is amazing.
Options for everyone here.
William Simmons
Tin Shed is Awesome for groups, families, single parties, dogs. The American style food is delicious and the beer/cocktails list is always good. Street parking, wheelchair accessible, and longer (~15-30min) waits for Sunday Brunch. The waitstaff are really nice too. It's in a trendy spot so it attracts a trendier crowd. Plenty of tables and a few seats at the bar.
Arie Deller
Awesome place, great food, great staff! We waited over 45 minutes for Sunday brunch, and are glad we did! Loved it.
Eric Lillstrom
Good food and great variety compared to standard Portland fare. I don't know if it's worth the price, but the place has a really cool atmosphere, especially the patio. Be warned, there will be many dogs there (a plus for me). Overall it's one of the nicer places to grab lunch on Alberta.
James Phillips
Great food, slow service for always being way overstaffed. So many people running around the kitchen and standing around talking but only 3-4 people actually working.
Alan Huynh
I came here for breakfast and the burrito I ordered was pretty good. It's a nice restaurant with fresh ingredients. They even infuse their own liquors. I'll definitely have to come back to try their drinks.
Tin Shed's service is phenomenal. I was sitting at the bar and 3-4 of their servers would routinely check up on me to see if I needed anything. It wasn't invasive or annoying and somehow the intervals were just right even though there were different people coming by.
Fisheye Digital
Not only one of the best breakfasts I've ever had, but one of the best meals I've ever had. Cozy environment, friendly staff - amazing food. They do things well. We came all the way from Virginia Beach and this will be a sure pit stop for us again if we are ever back out in Oregon.
Adrian Levick
One of the best brunch spots in town. The scrambles over crispy potato pancakes are money. Good biscuits. Homemade habanero sauce. Great bloodies with various infusions. Wait for a seat inside if you don't want to eat next to five different people's wet smelly dogs.
Keely Price
Loved the atmosphere. The biscuit board was amazing. Really enjoyed the meatloaf and macaroni as well. Margarita was delicious and kids meals were reasonably priced. Pet friendly. Would totally go back/recommend
Kristen Bateson
Delicious brunch, friendly servers, and it's dog friendly! They even have a menu just for your dog! There was definitely a long wait when we got there but they let you sign up to be texted when your table is ready so you can walk around the neighborhood in the meantime. I can also say it's worth the wait!
Andrew Tornell
Food overall tasted good. About 45min wait to be seated. Eggs Benedict was overcooked (solid yolk) but still tasted good. Cheese grits very good. Zucchini bread French toast was good but interesting flavor. Coffee very flavorful.
Jennica Mayfield
Hands down my favorite brunch spot.
The food is delicious. I am a sucker for savory scrambles as well as a good biscuit & jam for breakfast dessert... that's a "thing", right?
The environment is cozy and dog-friendly. I admit, I love to dog-watch and make new furry friends. Note: If you also enjoy puppy-watching, request a table in the "shed" or patio (not in the restaurant).
And their passion fruit (pint-sized!) mimosas are unbeatable.
I recommend Tin Shed to anybody and everybody looking for good Portland brunch - and I always recommend folks get there early. Because like all the other PDX brunch spots - wait times get crazy if you don't arrive early.
Cheers, happy brunching!
Maureen Hiller
Little chilly on the patio and we waited about an hour (Sunday morning at 10:00) but it was worth it. Loved that you could help yourself to coffee or tea while you waited. Food was amazing! Had the Good Dog and shared french toast and a biscuit. It was heaven... Also loved seeing all the dogs.
S. Priett
Great overall experience here! Great food, fun atmosphere, friendly servers and my dog loved her doggie meal. The tables filled up after we arrived and the dogs were all so well behaved... better than most kids at restaurants. Brian was attentive and was very good to my dog. I wish there was a place like this at home. The only con was the hostess. She was a bit creepy and not communicative, and seemed very unhappy. This is in sharp contrast to everyone else that works there. My dog didn't like her either.
Brian Gomez
Great restaurant and spot in NE Portland. Service and food was amazing. Best part about it is dog friendly and they have a menu for the dog. Highly recommended !
p. l.
Love this place. Often a wait but you can luck out sometimes. Great outdoor heated seating year round. Bacon gravy is my favorite in pdx. Everything is great here for breakfast. Good coffee self serve so no waiting for refills. Breakfast cocktails if that is your thing.
Nicholas Joneliukstis
Lives up to it's reputation. I got the sampler which includes carrot french toast, crispy bacon, creamy scrambled eggs, fresh fruits and hash browns but the best part was the passion fruit limeade. The second plate was a blue cheese burger with home made bun also really good. The service was good for the heavy traffic they have.
Chad McIntire
Food was pretty good I really enjoyed myself. I had the Good Dog. My dog and cat seemed to enjoy themselves. The wait was kind of long, about and a half. They take your number and call you, so that helps. The food is between 13 and 16 dollars unless you buy ala carte. I would definitely go again.
Bryce Eggleton
Rather limited seating coupled with high popularity means you should expect to wait a while (at least during normal meal times)... but with that said, the wait is completely worth it for the food! Their brunch specials are fantastic and every dish I've tried thus far has exceeded expectations! An absolute must if you are in the area.
Leslie
The food and service were both excellent. Unique offerings and prices fair for the location We plan to be back again.
Sofy Nazar
The potato cakes (hash browns) were the best I ever had! I'm pretty picky when it comes to my hash browns. They need to be crispy on the outside and soft in the inside with a nice texture and this place got it perfect. Worth the wait on a Sunday morning for brunch. The brunch cocktails looked good too, we didn't try them but everyone around us sure did! Loved the self serve coffee in the interesting mugs...nice touch to keep people relaxed while they wait for their table. If ever in Portland I might need to go back.
Dan Rubado
I love this spot. Great breakfasts, it's kid friendly and has a very pleasant, semi-outdoor seating area. The staff are super friendly and the kitchen is very accommodating if you eat veggie or vegan. And if there happens to be a line, you can drink coffee while you wait.
Bryan M
Exquisite place to check out in SE PDX. Has a very modern vibe while also having an older hometown diner vibe that offers excellent breakfast, brunch and lunch.
The coffee is where it separates itself with the rest of the many great choices of food. Don't get me wrong though, the food is wonderful, but the coffee exceeds so many other places that I have visited just for the coffee and nothing else. Its worth the trip if you aren't close.
During COVID they have safety figured out. Masks required during ordering, but not as you eat or drink obviously. Tables are separated and the waiters and waitresses distance themselves respectively.
Amoya Mankertz
Great place for to take your dogs 🐕 🐶 to dine! They even have a delicious menu for your pals!🤠 …
Tina
Everything was good...food, prices, portions, service. Didn't have to wait long as we opted to sit at the bar. Portions were large for me. I ordered the Sin (2 slices of french toast with honey butter, side of fruit) and added another side of fruit and bacon. My partner enjoyed his meal as well, which was one of their scrambles. They were more than willing to meet his desires in alterations to his meal (different cheese and swap peppers with mushrooms). Came with potato cakes or cheesy grits. He had a little of both. Would definitely come here again. Wish I had a dog to bring with me. Super dog friendly place with doggie menu and all.
Lani Roberts
Great food at this Portland staple, but it's very loud when busy - which is all the time, since it's so good! Dog friendly means - you guessed it - lots of dogs, which is fun for some and a deterrent for others. There's often a wait, but it's a fun neighborhood to wait in and they provide self serve coffee and tea while you wait.
Kaleb H. Christ
Really tasty brunch!! Which is a bit on the expensive side, but their biscuits and gravy are to die for, and their cocktails and beer selection is great. (I'm bummed there are actual "well" drinks in Portland though--death to false booze!!!). Dinner is really great too...love the nachos!!! Lots of vegetarian options. Staff is quick and nice.
Kelly Pierce
The food and service here are always spot on. If you ignore the special, you are foolish. Our special had chorizo, peppers, corn, spinach, chipotle sauce and eggs and was the most flavorful thing we ordered. The pint size mimosas were also wonderful. Burrito lacked something to make it special. Might be because I'm partial to my own recipe. Overall delicious experience. Prepare for a wait, but there are always dogs to entertain. We'll be back.

LOVE this Spot. My family just moved to NYC from Portland and miss this spot so much. The food is so good. Seriously we've had everything on the menu and never been disappointed. It's pretty much always busy especially on the weekend, but the staff is super cool and they have tea and coffee for you while you wait. It's kid friendly. They have an outdoor area also thats great all year. Biscuits are awesome.

This place has a nice atmosphere, but a pretty limited menu of hipster food, almost none of which I wanted to eat. To be fair, I did show up here primarily because my first choice for dinner was closed for some reason, and my second choice was beyond capacity and had a wait of over an hour. All of the menu items I asked about couldn't be altered, so if you are okay with most of it but want them to hold one part, you may well be out of luck. Ended up with a salad. My date did like the coconut rice (sweet, tasty, apparently would be an ideal breakfast food). Probably will not come back.

I have had several very satisfying visits to Tin Shed. Unfortunately, my recent Saturday afternoon brunch was a disappointment due to poor service coupled with a less than professional attitude. I hope I am able give a more enthusiastic review after my next visit.
I ordered a special of the day menu item. Half an hour later, I was informed the item was not available. I was disappointed (and very hungry) when I selected an alternative menu choice. No explanation or apology for the delay was given.
When, at last, our meals were served, I was given something other than what I ordered. Finally, an apology was offered for the delay, which was quite long and bothersome by that point, but rather then own up to the poor service and offer something (anything!) to make a bad situation better, our server blamed the trouble on "three new cooks" and promptly ran away, leaving me with no food while my companion was served.
A runner served my meal eventually, and he too scrambled away before I could ask for jam (which had been used up before we were seated) salsa. Not until our meal was more than half eaten did our server check to find we were wishing something, at which point she said we could have asked someone else for help and she again ran off and refused to hear my reply. This continued until she eventually delivered our check without asking if we would like dessert.
An honest apology, some sign of responsibility for poor service, and maybe some compensation or extra effort to make sure we felt cared for would have gone a long way, but nothing of the sort was offered. Very disappointing!

Doggies! Not to eat of course, but the staff seems to genuinely enjoy the dogguests who come with their peeps. Tin Shed is almost always crowded, so be prepared to wait... its an opportunity for your dog to meet my dog. The food is fresh and home cooked real, but just a buck too pricey for my purse. But yummy!!!

I have been going to Tin Shed as often as possible ever since I moved here four years ago. It has an epic wait on the weekends for good reason. They are quick to make meals vegan and have lovely choices for veggies and omnis alike. Their outdoor section in the summer is my favorite brunch spot and the fireplace dog patio in winter is prime canine viewing. They offer dog meals and desserts and grow a good portion of their own veggies with a portion of the proceeds going to animal sanctuaries. They have had mostly the same staff for the four years I have been going there and often remember what I eat and drink. I just can't say enough about this place. Go in the afternoon or evening for a quieter meal, but don't miss the Bloody Mary!
K
Food and drinks were so delicious! The menu is slightly overpriced..but we enjoyed what we got. The staff was wonderful and attentive. We sat outside on the patio and had a great time.

A unique spot for a brunch experience unlike any I have ever had.
Walk in the door and greeted immediately, name added to list, and told we are welcome to grab a cup of coffee while we wait.
Just a few minutes sipping on excellent coffee from home style mugs and we are sat and greeted by our server.
The menu is slightly different than other restaurants, but in the best way possible (place is also dog friendly and had a doggy menu fyi).
Ordered the "Everything Naughty", every part of this sampler was delicious and portion size was just right. Highly reccomend a biscuit with your meal.
With excellent service, exquisite food, a clean and home feeling decor, the Tin Shed is a must stop when you get a chance.

Went for breakfast on a Tuesday and had to wait about 20 minutes, which was a little surprising. It was definitely worth the wait though, the food was so delicious. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. The biscuits were so good it's ridiculous. Lots of veggie options too.

Love this place! Brought our dog in. They have a semi inside/outside area that is great! Good atmosphere. They brought out a doggie water dish along with our water. Which I loved. They have a couple menu items for pups as well (we got the doggie desert) which our very picky dog loved.
Our (people) food was also delicious. I got the tacos. Only $5 on happy hour and great sized, very filling. The happy hour menu was diverse and well priced.

The food and drinks were really impressive, but our waitress was Jennifer and she was fantastic. Great service and all smiles for our group of 7 adults and 2 very active toddlers. She was the best!!
Bryce Barclay
Love this place. The service is always good and I enjoy the self serve coffee.
Mike Davis
Interesting menu with sustainable item s without antibiotics. Food was great.

Ordered takeout online & it was easy. Our order was correct & ready on time. The food tasted great even though I didn't eat it right away. The person who got our order was really nice.
Monique Nelson
Great food but not as many breakfast options as I'd like... No pancakes or waffles but the have really good biscuits. We waited an hour to get in but we're able to sip on self-serve drinks while waiting. I probably wouldn't drag the kids back in here... it would be better if you have just adults.
Steve Buchholz
This is the best restaurant I've been to in Portland! The names of the dishes show how dog friendly they are. Had the Stay with potatoes, on point! Great seasoning, the potatoes were browned perfectly, mushrooms, veggies ... that gravy and biscuit ...
Paul Beck
Always delicious! Especially for pups. Fantastic outdoor patio.
William Irvine
This is a great place. I showed up for dinner a couple nights ago and found a sign saying they had to eliminate dinner and that they're hiring a cook and dishwasher due to needing to balance work and home.
Their new hours are (I think) open at 9am every day, closed at 3pm weekdays and 4pm weekends.
This just changed in the last 2 weeks. It seems kind of sudden, so I hope everyone is okay.
Anyway their food is good, the space is awesome (although loud/echoey), and the people who work there are nice.
Kevan Banngertir
Pretty good. Went for brunch. I had the smoked salmon hash. Prices are a little high but it's Portland so what can you expect. Only thing I did not like about this place is they had a self service coffee area that they tell you to go have a coffee while you wait. They totally make it seem like it's free. Bit they add the coffee to your bill.
Teresa
Big, excellent brunch. It was certainly plenty of food $17 for breakfast and $11 for bloody mary. Reservations are recommended or expect to wait. They have covered patio and umbrella patio areas. There is a fireplace on the patio but would recommend dressing warm if it's chilly.
Christopher Walker
This place has excellent breakfast, and a dog-friendly covered patio area that is great when traveling with the pupper. The food was top notch, and everyone was very friendly. There was about an hour wait on Sunday around 11am, but the food was well worth the wait.

Made reservations for 1:15pm on 7/27/21.
Ordered drinks and food (peppered bloody Mary) for both of us. Took 25 minutes to get drinks and received one peppered and one bacon.
The table we reserved is shared with a garden hose and a hose pump a bench that is part of the flowerbed for seating and a chair. The trees limbs were hanging down to table.
Not impressed.

Delicious food and good drinks. Tried the good dog and salm I am with Moscow and kombucha Moscow mule. Both mules were good and tasted fresh. The good dog was recommended by the waitress as it was most popularly ordered and it was great! A good scramble of delicious flavors and the sausage had a little kick to it which I liked. The salm I am was more of a smoky taste with the poached eggs done well and delicious side of cheese grits. Unfortunately we had to wait an hour to get in and it was 2pm on a Saturday, but there are a lot of shops to walk around and see while you wait. Friendly service and portions were not too big or small.
Dylan Coleman
Great food, friendly staff. Love that they have blankets you can wrap yourself in, and that you can bring your dog along! A little bit on the pricier side. Their breakfast is better than their lunch and dinner.
Donte Whitaker
WOW! Everything about this place is amazing. Food, drinks, service! This restaurant is what all restaurants should strive to be. The staff was very kind in answering all our questions, and dealing with our lame jokes. From Appetizer, Entree, to Dessert - 5 stars all around. We had a table of five and I tried everyone's dish, because that is how I role, and I was blown away by how good they all tasted. You can't go wrong with what you choose from here. Drinks... they had a lot of infused alcohols that they could mix with anything and they did a good job making everything we asked for. I can't stress anymore how much I enjoyed my dinner here, everyone I went with says over and over we need to go back. We will!

*Dogs eat free on Tuesday if you order an entree*
The staff is super welcoming. They have a special order on the menu for dogs, including dessert. The food is amazing and I will defiantly be back! If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!
Heng Look
Tim's Curry is awesome! And even more awesome, they happily swapped out an ingredient I didn't want for one that I did want. So I happily ordered the Curry both times we ate here. This restaurant stands out in a city that has excellent restaurants. Will definitely come back every trip we make to Portland.
Monica Ravizza
Everything I want in a breakfast. Eggs, potatoes, veggies, yummy sauce, and a biscuit all on one plate. Highly recommend!
Becky Shaheen
Really loved this place. The covered patio is perfect for a rainy day with your pup! Super tasty food with good portions. Could eat one of their biscuits every day and be very very happy.
Emily W
Waited 45 minutes at 9am on a Sunday and it was so worth it. Server and bartender were both really nice. Food (breakfast burrito and Tim curry) was excellent. Mimosas were generous and fresh. Highly recommend.
Judy McConathy
I like this place. They allow dogs in the screened warm patio. Food is good. Biscuits are delicious. One has to get their own coffee, tea, and water. Good for vegetarians and vegans. Also serves meat. Can substitute vege sausage for meat.
Jacqueline Donnelly
Loved the food! Our server was wonderful and extremely understanding when my 3 yes old didn't like her food. They offered to exchange get plate for something else free of charge!!! Trendy, artsy ambiance. Just a delightful experience altogether
Kailyn
Excellent customer service! Can't remember the gentleman's name but was working the bar the night of 9/19. We walked in late and they were closing soon. They were extremely accommodating and friendly. Took the time to have a conversation and make some recommendations for the rest of our night. HIGHLY recommend. The biscuits are excellent as well!
Kristen Sydelko
Fantastic atmosphere, very accommodating servers, and fabulous food. They are very conscious of food sensitivities, and go above and beyond to make sure you will be okay. Plus, it is great to see all the different dogs that come to eat! I definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Christie Pirkle
Was only in portland for a few days, but we went here twice. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. We had the mac of the day which had leeks and something else in it. Not sure what else, but it was so good! We also got the Salmon burger. Would definitely eat again! Breakfast was also phenomenal! Had the veggie biscuits and gravy and the pesto veggie scramble. My favorite was by far the biscuits and gravy and the potato cakes they have! Highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone as they accommodate a lot of food preferences.

This is our go-to for early morning, "let's be good to ourselves" breakfast. They open at 7AM and even then is well-populated by other early bird breakfasters. The menu offers a variety of egg dishes with vegetarian and vegan options. The biscuit and (mushroom) gravy is a personal favorite, and we often order both potato cake and grits as sides so that we can share. The covered and open-air patio dining area is dog-friendly (and there are also a couple of pooch-specific items on the menu for your furbabies), so we always ooh, aah, and make other cute sounds while enjoying our hearty breakfasts.
Michael Morgen
This is one of my favorite breakfast and lunch spots. I am always satisfied with the food and the service. Their baristas are excellent too.
Sunny Shah
One of the best meals I had in on my trip to Denver....I went back the next day for a 2nd time. The Tim Curry is great and the Heartless Artichoke sandwich amazing. Ask for their house-made hot sauce -- if they sold it in air-tight jars instead of plastic squeeze bottles, I would have taken some home.
Michael Sendelbach
I was traveling from out of town with a few friends and I read good reviews about this place so we tried it out. Sure enough the place was packed when we arrived and it was about a 20 minute wait. It was worth it though. I really enjoyed the atmosphere there... we were able to sit outside. I ordered the Paige Turner which is different than what I may typically order but still delicious.
Ashley B (Ashes)
Got the special of the day, it was absolutely delicious! Friendly service, great food!
Isabel Kelliher
Everyone knows they have an awesome breakfast menu that is well worth the wait BUT DID YOU KNOW they have an awesome happy hour that's not busy?! 3-6 daily $6 tacos that are fantastic, drink prices, and other tasty treats. Recommend Tin Shed to anyone who eats.
Shannon in Oregon
The gluten free breakfast sausage and potato pancakes are something my family talks about incessantly, they are that good! You have to put up with sometimes an hour plus wait, but hey, it's Portland! And lots of dogs come to the covered patio! The staff is super nice and fast too!
Ally Cat
Husband and I went during brunch on Sunday. Amazingly fast, very friendly service, excellent food, very creative and delicious menu. Outdoor seating both upstairs and downstairs (which has a firepit), pet-friendly. Highly recommended.
Sean Clinchy
Best place we’ve found in Portland for breakfast or brunch. Their biscuits are deservedly famous. Excellent bacon. You may need to wait, but coffee is provided and the food is well worth it.
Paul Dixon
5 stars for the food, They have a large and varied menu and mix dishes and ingredients, even putting a spin on staple dishes. Portions are actually large too. We both loved ours. I'd put it on a par with 'Jam' as one of my favorite breakfast spots.
The inside of the building is tiny. Most of the seating space is in the extension/patio. That's great as it allows your 4 legged friends to come with you, it's bad when - like now - it's barely above freezing.
The absolute worst - and reason for the mark off - is the wait. We waited 20 minutes on a Tuesday at 2pm - which is good. At popular times you will be waiting an hour to get seated.
Portlandia did a very good show on Portland's obsession with brunch and how people will wait stupid amounts of time in line at certain places, passing over perfectly acceptable alternatives. It is absolutely alive and well.
Ian Sergeant
Fantastic as always, in this longstanding neighborhood spot. The creative menu and quality from the kitchen still stand. Self-serve coffee makes up for the wait for a table and speeds up table service, allowing waitstaff's charming personalities to shine.
Elissa McChesney
Great food and drinks! Love that we can take our dog there and order for him off of the doggie menu! Comfortable sitting outside under the Tin Shed covered area :-) There's even a fireplace to keep you warm. Perfect even when it's been raining.
Jodi Faltin
Dog friendly! Get your dog some brunch and dessert while you eat some of the best breakfast in Portland. Have coffee while you wait (It's usually pretty busy) and watch all of the dogs walk by. The biscuits are amazing, and the seasonal French toast. Try it all!
Patrick Gray
It was the first place we ate at during our stay in Portland and the best. The mini mac was one of the best macaroni and cheese dishes I have ever had. The other two who ordered enjoyed it as well. The rest of the food was also good, of note was a black bean quesadilla with jam (I was a bit skeptical but it was surprisingly good). The staff was friendly and the 'garden' section we sat in was very pleasant. All in all it had a quirky charm that got the vacation off to a good start.
The only 'issue' to be had, as with any downtown area, was parking. We had to loop around but found a space not too far off.
River Taig
The Tin Shed is a very Portland-esque breakfast experience with fantastic vegetarian-friendly food and super friendly staff. On the heated patio (which is probably the majority of the restaurant) well-behaved dog are always welcome - there's even items on the menu for them to order. The food is definitely not run-of-the-mill; I got biscuits with mushroom gravy, potato cakes, cage-free egs, and vegetarian sausage - "The Naughty". Carnivores have a ton of options too, and vegans choices are on the menu as well. Very good and locally roasted coffee is self-serve which is actually kinda nice if you have to wait for a table and because nobody wants to have to wait for a fresh cup if the wait staff gets a bit overwhelmed. It's for sure a few bucks more than you'd spend at Denny's, but infinitely better.
Sarah Nguyen
I love this place and will not stop going. When my friends never heard of this place or my grandparents are visiting. I would take them here and their reactions would turn positive after eating. It does get busy but I went at a really good time. After I sat down, I saw a bunch of people lining up. So go at a good time (goodluck) but definitely worth it!
Erik Hovland
Wonderful place for breakfast or brunch. We stopped in on our way out of town on a Monday. Suprisingly busy for a late Monday morning. Coffee is self serve, I see this largely as a function of how most restaurants in Portland (including this one) have much smaller staffs. But, I did drink a cup less of coffee because I couldn't be bothered to get up again.
The fresh biscuits were the highlight. Buttery, flakey, just on the right side of dense. We ordered a biscuit on the side because it was so good.
Short menu, but all things are good
You will find something you want to eat.

I was content with my meal but my wife and sister were pretty underwhelmed. We had high expectations because every time we have asked in the past, there has been an hour or longer wait time to be seated. This time we decided to wait and when we got seated it was another half hour to 45 minutes before we had food. I ordered a breakfast burrito and I was happy with the unique mix of vegetables and flavors but but it seemed to have an extreme amount of full garlic cloves and it was a little oversaturated with olive oil.
Amy Restad
I thought this was the BEST breakfast I've ever eaten in my life...I'm not much for eggs and pancakes but the menu there is amazing. So original, I had the "Good Dog", this amazing Mexican scramble over two of the most delicious potato cakes possible. Went on a Tuesday morning, no wait, bring your dog and there's a great garden area with pet beds and a dog menu, it's a MUST GO!!!!
Dislike their web address isn't working....
Eric Woelker
This place has great food. Went here for brunch the other day and sat outside under the "shed" portion of the restaurant. The waitress was great and really helped accommodate our dietary restrictions (gf and df). I would recommend this place for sure but go early (or during non-peak) hours as it gets real busy on the weekends. 👍 …

Went to this Tin Shed with some locals, wondering what we were getting into...what we got was wonderful food with numerous vegetarian options, quick and friendly service and an eclectic atmosphere where oldsters and kidlets seemed equally at home. The two dining areas that I saw were busy, cheerful and service was bustling. Servers and staff were outgoing, and saw to our needs and orders promptly, with a smile. The stated menu includes many add-on options.

Stopped in for breakfast my first day in town and had a great pesto scramble. The biscout was delicious with lots of jam with it! The waiter seemed a bit annoyed i was on my phone, but hey, i was by myself so it's the same as talking to another person there right?! The environment was great.. highly recommend!

I had a lamb and eggs breakfast special and since good, boozy cocktail. They were very accommodating of dietary restriction B.S. Nice patio. There is usually a wait - this place is pretty popular.
William Sohl
Went here early on a Sunday morning and by 9 they were getting busy. Despite that we got seated quick and inside smelled amazing. Our party got the Veggie Benedict and a daily special scramble, both of which were outstanding. The mix of texture and flavor in both were on point, and the cheese grits and biscuits sent me right back to growing up in the south.
Our waiter apologized for the delay and comped our coffee, but honestly I hadnt noticed. Compared to the rush I've seen at other places around PDX, I thought they were moving quite quick. Would definitely come back again.
Sunil Karanjikar
Well the food is awesome. The staff is great and very welcoming. Usually require reservations to dine here but we were visiting and the staff accommodated us with a short wait time.

Sorry for the half eaten pics!
This place was DELICIOUS. Super flavorful, yet simple food. I was blown away by the quality.
They are taking COVID seriously! It was so refreshing to be somewhere that adhered to social distancing guidelines. Fantastic service!

Came here for brunch with some ladies and a cute dog! The dog friendly patio it’s actually where you check in with the host In the covered area, not outside! Apparently it’s easier to pick up lil poopies in the center part of the tin shed. They even have dog food which sound ridiculous but it’s really nice to have the dogs distracted with their own food and the options are fun for the pups! We all ordered an assortment of breakfast foods and I can’t remember what my friends got but I ordered the special which was eggs Benedict with fried green tomatoes. I swapped out the English muffin for a biscuit. I really always want to like tin shed cuz the hype is the real deal but flavor wise there are so many other great places that nail it in the flavor game. I wasn’t like wow this amazing! I was hungry and it filled me up. Ambiance wise love the tin shed. Service wise is friendly and occasionally you might get the sarcastic waiter which I always enjoy. Great place for friends and conversation. Cheers

This place is awesome! Every new plate that I try is better than the last one.
Banana bread french toast is just the best frech toast you will ever have! It's heaven.
Bbq chicken burger used to be my favorite before the menu has been recently changed. Still good but no comparison to the old one. Please bring it back!🙏🏻🙏🏻

Doggy desert very yum, such tasty. Wow!

LOVE the vegan and vegetarian options for breakfast and lunch. Super friendly staff and wonderful espresso drinks. Relaxed vibe.

Food is awesome! Huge portions so you may want to share. We love the friendly laid back vibe of this place and it’s dog-friendly seating! Take note: as of July, reservations are required :-).

Let's just say that if those biscuits were driving a car and they hit me.... I would apologized.
Aimee Savage
The first place we ate at in Portland and it just really set the tone for us. Wasn't sure how to feel about a meat loaf sandwich, but it was so good. Also if you're a Mac & cheese lover you HAVE to try theirs, especially ask for the Mac of the day. Really friendly service as well!
Jeff Brock
This place has been here for so many years now, neighborhood institution. Yummy funky but straightforward dishes. Yes, you are going to wait a long time on the weekends. Dinner food pretty good too, dog friendly patio.
K Lawrence Gaddie
I hadn't been here in years because of its popularity and the lines (I used to come waaay back when they originally opened). I had forgotten how delicious their food is. Actual healthy comfort food!! A relaxing environment despite the crowds, and one of the best kids' menus in town!
