Reviews of SUSHI ICHIBAN
Flat Stanley
Parking is a headache here as its located in downtown and you may have to drive around for a while until you find a spot. The area is also very sketchy as there is a lot of homeless walking around. I had to repark as I was not comfortable leaving my car there, even for 10 minutes. I wont hold that against the restaurant as that is not their fault. Overall the food tasted great and the service was excellent. There are signs saying they are currently understaffed/hiring so you may have to be patient. I came close to closing and there wasn't a huge selection on the train but you can always order from the menu.
Justin Engle
We looked for Sushi close to our hotel and this was a great surprise! The selection is not as big as other sushi places BUT the quality is among the best. Highly recommend and way better than the price tag!
Michael Goldberg
This place is cool! Not your average sushi restaurant. You sit at the sushi bar (or a booth if you prefer) and sushi floats by you on a model train set. If you want to order something specific, you can do the usual piece of paper ordering method. I found the sushi reasonably priced and of good quality - not the best, but that’s not the type of place this is. I don’t actually eat fish but I had a huge meal of great vegetarian and vegan options. I was even pleased to see sesame balls roll by on the train, which I obviously grabbed. So good. We ate a ton and for 2 of us with tip it was about $65. I’ll be back.

We enjoyed this place so much we came back within a week! Great options, fresh fish, and love the train - feels like it's bringing me an omakase experience in the sense I don't know what will roll by, but I know it will be yummy. Keeps us from only getting our favorites and encourages taste exploration.
Service is prompt, polite and consistent.
Sarah Buckley
Love this place every time we go. The train is really fun, the food is fresh and delicious and the staff friendly. Great for a quick meal as you can start eating right when you sit down. When we visited tonight we had no problem finding parking and didn’t encounter any homeless folks.

My boyfriend and I walk here regularly, it’s our favorite spot to go for sushi. The little red head server is a sweet pea, and very attentive, the sushi is as fresh as it gets, with a wonderful selection on the adorable train that goes around. There is always seats open, oh and delish plum wine ❤️ thank you for all the delicious meals, and more to come.
Logan Burket
good sushi but small portions. it adds up really fast, me and a friend came for dinner and spent 40 each. each plate has 1-3 pieces on it for a price of $2-5 per plate depending on the type. i like the train but i’ll probably stick to sushi hada on the east side due to expense.

What an adventure. You must act with precision as you carefully thief sanctioned goods off of a speedy freight train desperately trying to roll out of California. Unbeknownst that the woman who serves beverages of your choice while you articulate logistics is actually a spy for some faction of the government who encourages this sort piracy as acceptable behavior but then as you make for an escape with the contraband fully encrypted by your digestive system. This spy will totally seize the empty cargo containers as evidence and charge you a fine per cargo container on a technical legality. I was threatened to be held in a man crib with a balding diapered prisoner who the spy called baby daddy or something. She claims a hefty 20% added to the total damage as a "gift" but in reality you're essentially paying off your own ransom, on the ticket of itemized offenses her gratuity reads as a "release of hospitality fee". They take debit.
Fun place. Free valet parking service.

Definitely a go-to for the area. Quality staff. Great sushi. Lively shirts for sale. You just can’t beat the prices for the sushi and sake.
Henry Harris
Love love love. I'm an old schooler: the days of Takahashi. Nothing has changed. Except for understandable price increases; still totally affordable. Always nice sized fish cuts & diverse plated selection. Steam buns are great. Great service. Love that electric train sush!
Anthony Dryer
Wonderful family owned sushi bar with options like ramen, udon and bao. Great vegan selection. They have a model train that carries the sushi around like a conveyor style bar.
River Gillis
I love this place. The aesthetic is perfect, the train carrying the sushi is a gimmick that makes me so happy, and the food itself is delicious and well priced.
The nigiri wasn’t super attached to itself which made it a little difficult to eat, and some of the rolls were way larger than they needed to be, but you quickly learn what to grab and what not to. If you only get white plates you can get a large meal for cheap!
Alex Williams
This place is the best! The staff are so attentive (they noticed we grabbed cheesecake and brought forks to our table, our water was never empty, etc.) and every bite of food we took was delicious!
Matthew Hagarty
Came two days in a row. Bought the t shirt. Great balance of quality and price, and conveyer belt sushi is hard to find nowadays. Will definitely be coming back any time we are in portland.
Alex Hall
First conveyor belt sushi experience. The chefs kept the train cars pretty stocked up with a variety of rolls, sashimi, and desserts. Prices were reasonable as well.
THECpt PHOON
I had never been to a place like this. It was a very cool/fun experience! There is a mini train that drives around the bar with sushi and other things on it and you just grab what you'd like and they just count up your plates at the end. The staff were very friendly and attentive! It was also very cheap!
Jason Starman
First time back since pandemic closures. The inside has been refreshed and the train still provides great sushi. Gluten free tamari available.
Dale Hylton (NW Tech Geek)
This is not quite your regular conveyor belt sushi. While they have a train to pull some plates along you mostly mark what you want on an order sheet and the sushi chefs deliver it to you. The food was reasonably priced and fresh. Special prices on Wednesday and Saturdays. I had a nice looking and tasty shrimp boat as shown in my photo.
Kathleen Mitchell
Fabulous like always! It's really hard for me to find tempora salmon that's mainly the reason I go all the way across town to get them. The deep fried California rolls are tasty too! 😋 …
A. Darryl Moton
My favorite sushi place in Portland hasn't changed a bit and is great for it. A toy train carries around cheap rolls of good sushi. Great wait staff and quick service. Decent vegan options.
Jared Waters
It's a terrific place to eat at. I took a friend there. We had a blast. They have a train that goes around the place where you eat with appetizers and desserts. It's very clean place. Great customer service.
drphosferrous
They have a train! Service is good and prices are not bad. I like it more than places with better sushi.
Kathryn Clevenger
Love this place! Went there for the first time and the staff were super nice, the food was absolutely amazing and my favorite dish was the taro bun (sooo good)
Shmooley
I would say this is one of the freshest sushi I’ve ever had. The service was amazing as well! Every piece of sushi was stunningly delicious and rice was perfect in size.
This is one of the best sushi restaurants I’ve ever had from the smoked salmon to the escolar and perfectly plump sweet shrimp! The salmon and yellow tail were so fresh and amazing tasting!
T Toma
I've been going to this place for years. I am never disappointed. Get the fried oyster handroll. It is something special.
Breanna Edelstein
This place is HANDS DOWN, the most underrated sushi restaurant in all of Portland and surrounding areas. My favorite aspect about this restaurant is that they have any type of fish you can ask for. A lot of the cheaper sushi restaurants only offer a handful of fish (leaving my favorite ones out like scallop, sweet shrimp, etc.) Sushi Ichiban really knocks it out of the park! The pricing is Phenomenal. The quality is even better. I came here with my family of 6 of SUSHI LOVERS and our total bill was under $200. The owner is incredibly sweet and the staff were always on point to get our orders out in a timely manner. I live in the heart of downtown portland so there are tons of sushi options but I will always choose this place first.
Rahul Singhal
This is an excellent place for sushi and I would say probably the best sushi in Portland. We always get vegetarian sushi and the rolls from other similar places either smell stale or like meat but it is never the case with sushi Ichiban. Recently their prices have gone up which makes it little bit of a tough decision but about a year or so ago, you couldn't beat the quality for that price. We paid $50 or so last week for four people and it used to be around $35.
Ken Wong
Visiting Portland from San Francisco and was craving 🍣. Found this place close to my hotel. Overall, I liked the food. Creative rolls that you could order. An interesting roll was the hamachi inside and salmon and avocado on the outside.
Service was good.
LR Silence
Good sushi, great prices, wonderful atmosphere and a very accommodating staff. Very relaxed environment and huge variety of food options. Say hi to Serafina, she's a showstopper!
Vineet K.
Quality of The sushi is average. I like the concept of a conveyor belt sushi. The staff is friendly. I love that there was no wait.
Jacoba Anderson
5 stars for your sushi conveyer belt. It's actually on a train but you can order many different things from the menu and that's where it all starts to happen.
Polina Benoit
Service and price was really great, sushi fresh and really tasty. It's a little bit dirty for my liking but they make sushi right in front of you, which was very nice.
Rayven Zen
Nice place to enjoy the time, but there were not many foods on the belt.
Patty T
Needed to have a meal before heading to Roseland Theater for a concert. This place is right around the corner. Turned out to be a great pick! The food was delicious and the staff super-friendly! (Food so good I forgot to take pics). Would definitely stop by again.
Faith Dawson
My sister and I came in to eat sushi since we were in the area and we were pleasantly surprised with how great of a restaurant it was. Loved the unique décor and they were short staffed but very courteous and we never had to wait for very long if we needed anything. And prices were good too! Thank you!!!
Sara Derenia
Good food. Friendly staff. Just wish that there was more of a selection on the train, but you can always order off the menu. I just like to try new things when I see then roll by.
Jace Knox
My daughter and I have a tradition of coming here to eat during the week. The kid almost always manages to eat twice as much as me at half my weight. 😂 I've been coming to this spot for almost 20 years and still love it. Jo roll and spicy tuna hand roll are some favorites. Sushi train! …
Krysten Baham
Great price for quality sushi with a ton of options! The train of sushi was a fun theme. So glad we stopped here on our visit to Portland!
Kaptin Qwin
Takahash oops I mean Ichiban has a train. Cho Cho, Shrimp Shumai, Tempura Thai. Beloved O.G. Service Industry workers fave. These guys rule!
Christopher Hamel
This has long been one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. In addition to all the expected classics, they do a great salmon skin, calamari, and these ridiculous little poppers. Service is perfect and prompt, and the prices are great.
Thomas Tracey
Hands down, my favorite restaurant in Portland. Help support this business and order takeout. Make sure that you get the Salmon Skin Rolls as they are the Bomb!
Pete Johnson
Great neighborhood conveyer sushi spot. Friendly service and great prices.
John Mc
Reasonable priced and very good sushi
Alright Let's go
literally the best sushi restaurant in Portland. the ginger beer is made with fresh ginger...
Erik W
Looking in downtown PDX for sushi and we found this gem. A "conveyor belt" sushi joint that uses a model train to wind its way around the bar. Excellent service and awesome food. Finished my meal with a smoked salmon hand roll. Really unsure of it, but it was divine! Prices are super reasonable, ranging from $2.25/ plate to $4.75(?) pet plate. Definitely coming back to Sushi Ichiban!
Anthony Mustello
Kids loved the sushi train 🚆. Staff was excellent!
joshua lane
Favorite sushi spot in Portland been coming here for the last 14 years and they never disappoint!
David Song
This place should be your first choice if you're strapped for time, and want something cheap but don't want to lose out on quality. In between Downtown and Union station, Sushi Ichiban is a delicious conveyer belt (well, train track) sushi that is amazing for the price. So glad we stopped by before heading home.
Kevin Horney
This really is the best Sushi in town.
I've eaten at dozens of other place and only a couple have been close in freshness and flavor.
Even in a dozen places around the country, including NY and CA, the only place I've had better is in Fairbanks AK.
Brian Fischer
Wonderful staff, talented sushi chefs, and a wonderful evening of fun for everyone.
Cassandra Rasmussen-Fike
Our happy place. We've been faithful since 2013, for my partner a decade longer than that (he started at Takahashi). Our kids love it and it helps keep them adventurous eaters. The staff recognize us when we go in and make us feel extra welcome knowing our drinks and preferred apps, although we have felt very welcome since day one.
If you're new to sushi this is a great place to start! The fish is still high quality but low price. The train let's you see what you're getting into and the staff is VERY friendly and willing to answer any questions. The relaxed atmosphere and bar seating (tables available as well) means you can probably find other patrons who would love to offer suggestions as well! I never skip the salmon skin hand roll and shrimp boat!
Can't recommend highly enough.
Pro tip: Wednesday evening and all day Saturday are cheap days, as we call them, with most sushi being $1.25.
Ann Marcus
This is my favorite sushi place in the universe. I take everyone here when the visit. Great food, fresh. The best salmon skin hand roll on the planet. I love the owners: brothers who are very sweet and welcoming. In fact, everyone who works there is wonderful. They are friendly, and the sushi options are sophisticated and very tasty. Chefs are willing to accommodate requests or make substitutions. Excellent rock music. Real electric train conveys sushi, plus lots of options to order from the menu. Low prices, too! Especially Wednesdays and Saturdays. What more could you ask for?!
Alan Laird
Wonderful staff and great sushi. My favorite place in Portland.
Belen Murray
The bar is nice to sit around in a circle with other people. And the cute train that goes around on top of the bar, delivering the sushi plates, is ingenious and entertaining to look at. I had a great experience here. Very warm and family friendly. Good place to meet people.
Joshua Reeves
I really love this place. Track sushi is kinda iffy for me sometimes because I feel like I always grab the oldest plate on the train. Not here, I've never been disappointed with a plate. They serve you fast, and check you out fast. It's a great spot for a quick delicious sushi lunch.
Kim Ost
I guess I'm one of those people who really like being able to pull various things off the belt in rapid succession, but there weren't very many things on the belt that I wanted. Which wouldn't be too bad if not for the fridge level of cold of the plates we did order. Good place to scratch your conveyer belt sushi itch though.
Kim Patlolla
Good sushi fun experience
Max Pietsch (Max)
Nice atmosphere. Music is pretty relaxed and fun. Train is cool.
My favorite is the Jolene Roll. I tried the Kao’s Special #1 and Kao’s Special #2 and Alaska Hand Roll and they were good, the seared salmon was a little better than the smoked salmon, but overall the Jolene Roll was worth the extra money because you get more salmon and three of them.
The Shrimp Boat is just okay. It’s pretty but it just tastes like shrimp, rice and tabasco sauce.
Jordan
Pretty normal sushi train. Nothing super special but they have a really nice staff!!
Melody Proffitt
Such as fantastic experience. Everything I ordered was a very reasonable price. And the taste was out of this world. Not to mention they have a freaking sushi train! So much fun. I loved it. All the chefs were kind and efficient. Would recommend you try it.
Paul Chen
Better sushi than most other conveyer belt sushi places.
Horatio Fairburn
This is the best sushi-go-round in town. The train is charming, the service is quick, the sushi is fresh, well-made, and delicious, the ginger soda is handmade, and the prices are cheap. I always finish with an order of sesame balls and I never leave unhappy.
raven Chanay
Just love this place!!! The food is fresh and diverse. pricing is great too. it's a good place to experiment with different kinds of sushi. I love you can sit by the train and get to order fresh sushi. We have been going there for 9 years and will continue.
Erik Ratcliffe
What can I say? I like this place. The neighborhood...how can I put it lightly? It's "interesting". Don't let that put you off. The folks inside are great, the place is clean, the sushi's good, and the prices are reasonable. I went there for lunch on a Tuesday and the place filled up. I think they needed a few more people attending the diners to get folks checked in/out more quickly, but I could probably say that about any lunch spot downtown. Give Sushi Ichiban a shot if you're in the neighborhood.
Alice C
I was made a ho ho for the Cho Cho! S'good.
Sean Hathaway
Love this place so much. I've been eating here a few times a week for years. Best sushi for the price (for any price) around. Fast takeout for lunch and the bar is great for a sit down meal. Love to take my daughter for a 'special' meal. The train around the bar is an actual train! Everyone is wonderful here!
May Boleyn
My favorite sushi in Portland. Very affordable and always high quality. Was great to dine in again, the staff are always fantastic. Great cozy little place for sushi
Julie Y
#1 budget friendly OG sushi train with amazing vegetarian and vegan options. My husband and I went here for so many date nights we rented the whole restaurant out for a private party on our wedding weekend. We now love supporting them w/ takeout during the pandemic. We love you, staff and food at Sushi Ichiban!
Ely Berns
Came here with family on a Saturday night while visiting Portland around 6 and luckily beat the rush. It filled up shortly after we arrived, and for good reason. The sushi is amazingly fresh and delicious, with a great price point. Some of the best salmon sashimi I've ever had. Delicious sushi in a simple system done perfectly. Love this place. I will be back next time we're in Portland.
Erik Dewhurst
This place feels like 1986 to me. In ALL the best ways.
They use an actual model train for their Sushi and it feels like the place was established in the 80's based on some of the decor. But for me that's part of the appeal. It's an authentic feeling sushi restaurant. It FEELS wholesome and pure.
The food is good. A solid set of Sushi and Sashimi greatest hits. Nothing too spectacular, but it's exactly what I wanted when I went there.
If you're looking for upscale Sushi in PDX, there are plenty of other places. But if you're craving the feel of an authentic Sushi Restaurant from down-town Tokyo circa 1987, this is the place.
S Reyes
I am never disappointed with this place. The wait staff is always attentive. I've been coming here for a few years now and even when I try other "conveyor sushi" places. Sushi ichiban, always holds its place as my number 1 go to and favorite. The cuts and presentation are always on point. Clean, quick, and most of all the Sushi I pull from the belt is always cold. I notice at other conveyor sushi locations the Sushi gets warm from sitting in rotation for so long. Which actually ruins the experience and the taste for me. Definitely, get more than what you pay for with sushi ichiban.
Oshiva Henson
A great price, better quality, and the best ginger soda I've had.
Tony “Travels With Tony” V
DELICIOUS!!! Ahem, excuse me. I had to visit an office in this area for work and ate here three times for lunch. This place's food is so good! It is by far the best Sushi place I've ever gone to in this area. There's one I like in Tanisborne but Sushi Ichiban blows it out of the water!
The location looks like the proverbial "hole in the wall" but its nice and clean inside. Wonderful decoration and ambience. The Sushi "track" is literally a track with the sushi plates being pulled along by a model train locomotive and model flatbed cars with the plates on them. The train, the tracks, and the rest of the restaurant are wonderfully clean. The servers and staff are friendly and helpful.
I could go on and on. Seriously, the Food Channel or one of those traveling food reviewers should visit this place. It is awesome. Its kinda hard to get to, there's only pay parking in this area and, to be honest, the neighborhood is kinda rough, but if you find yourself in the area or go on an expedition for good food, go to Sushi Ichiban!!
Bethany B.
The atmosphere is wonderful, the chef even came out of the kitchen to ask about my order. We were acknowledged or helped by every employee in the building. Everyone working was happy and more than helpful. The food was wonderful and came around on a train. I don't even like sushi but I would love to come here again.
Kristin Kinic
I have been coming here for over 20 years. One of my favorite places.
Gabriel Turek
Very nice cheap sushi restaurant. They have four main levels of sushi, plus one more fancy custom plate. This is the normal authentic style sushi restaurant where plates come by on a motorized miniature train, and you pay by the plate. It also includes a few items that are not sushi, if interested. Great choice of beer, including Japanese beers as well. Highly recommended.
John Canada
Good sushi for reasonable price. Has a "coffee shop" atmosphere that felt cozy and seemed like a place to relax and take your time to eat sushi off of the train. Server was on top of everything and custom rolls were delivered quickly.
D.
Been going here since the 90's when it was Sushi Takehashi. This is relevant because I THINK it's always been the same owners, as many of the staff have been consistent over the years, even after the name change.
It's always been fresh, they've always had a good variety, they've always been friendly. I have never gotten sick from eating here. That's kind of a big deal when you are talking about eating sushi at the same place hundreds, maybe 1000's of times over a 30-ish year period. I will continue to eat here until the day I die.
Volom117
Amazing!!! Best hole in the wall place!!
Amazing sushi and dumpling!
L. Z.
The staff was friendly and attentive. The prices were very reasonable. There was a variety of vegetarian options, and even a couple vegan ones. The vegan roll (avocado on top with tofu inside with sweet chili sauce) was absolutely AMAZING!!!
We are from Eugene, and we'll definitely try and eat there again when visiting!
khayla hollen
It's a fun environment, not very expensive, friendly staff.
It's not worth the hype tho...
The sushi was alright but the noodle dishes and the gyoza was just very standard. Id rather pay a few more dollars for a higher quality bowl of ramen.
This place is just very very basic.
Id recommend it to someone who may be trying to branch out and try something new, not to someone who regularly enjoys sushi and ramen.
I'm overall just very disappointed
Kelly Mercer
We come here a lot. I like that I can get simple items off the conveyor train even when it isn't happy hour (avocado roll, inari, salmon roll). The prices are reasonable, everything seems fresh. The rice is typically well seasoned, though has been over seasoned once when I've been there. This is my favorite conveyor belt sushi place in town.
Zoe Eberhard
Absolutely delicious! The service was excellent and the sushi was simple but delicious. I also enjoyed the other elements going around the train, the rolls and desserts were delectable! Will definitely be back!
Duy Tran
Great sushi train spot with affordable prices and wonderful service. Happy hour (Wednesday and Saturday) prices are great but I recommend regular days for the freshest sushi! Highly recommend the Salmon Skin Roll!
Gillian Daley
THIS IS MY FAVORITE SUSHI PLACE. it's not extremely expensive and yet it has great portions. They have a little train that pulls food around, an actual railroad and train setup. Everyone is nice and this place is so tasty. I love it. You have to go. With friends or family. It's amazing. Just perfect place all around
Will Richards
You might not think you want to get sushi here, but you totally do! I've been here many times and every time has been delicious, they even have quail eggs sometimes.
There is a train that goes by with selections on it, but there's also a menu to order from and sheets to hand the sushi chefs.
Evan Kender
Best conveyor belt sushi in Portland, and some amazing deals on Wednesday and Saturday.
William Davis
I love the rail car with the plates of food constantly refreshed and flying by grab when ready. I'm always surprised when I go here at how fresh the fish is, but believe me it feels like it was caught moments before I pulled it off the plate. If you're hungry you can literally sit down and eat until you're happy in about 20 minutes.
Jess Nik.
Prices were almost too good to be true. Initial impression was a little rough because of the building but they did a great job with it. But the crowning achievement was the sushi. It was truly wonderful and I felt like I should have paid more for it. Best sushi in Portland!
michael brooks
yes! sushi on a train. good stuff! and they have steamed buns, you just have to ask. this place offers a ton they don't put right out there so don't be shy. the sushi artists are friendly and the wait staff enjoyable. very not portland ;) i love it.
this place is affordable, clean, friendly and fast. make it a regular stop on your downtown adventures!
Alisha A. Pearson
I'm sure I'm not suppose to give a sushi train 5 stars but I adore his place. Be aware the service is slow, they seem under staffed, so order early. And veg miso is made to order which takes even more time... but its served HOT and I've never had anything to eat here that I thought was of poor quality. Its inexpensive, fast if you eat off the train, has a friendly staff, and so much fun!
Benjamin Cooper
The sushi was delicious and very reasonably priced. The model train that revolves the plates around the bar is cute and novel. The staff was extraordinarily friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an underrated, low-key sushi joint in Portland.
Quinita Whitfield (Qwhit6972)
Always great! They make my favorite sushi special order as soon as I'm seated. Its spicy tuna hand roll sriracha only.
Each person in there is really friendly. I love the red head and the guy with light eyes. They are very conversational and funny.
I also like the Brunette waitress with mid length hair, can't remember her name at the moment. She gets in trouble for talking too much sometimes but it's to customers. And she's has a great energy.
My favorite rolls are caterpillar, salmon and avocado, and nigiri is calamari and salmon.
Must go on a special price day
Mary Tindall
Absolutely love this place! They make the sushi fresh in front of you. There is a conveyor belt but you can also order rolls (and other food). They are delicious and one of my favorite sushi spots in town!
Jace Jones
Fresh fish and great service in a very Portland setting. The sushi is always fresh and rolled well very tasty colorful artfull delicious food. The service is always spot-on they were on our table instantaneously and they kept coming back to make sure anything we needed wasn't taken care of they got it seen to
Jessie Brainerd
We go to Sushi Ichiban at least once a month, usually more like once a week! The food is great - it's not a "real" sushi experience, but it is 100% better than any chain Sushi Go-Round you've been to. The most important thing is that the food is super fresh. They don't use tuna "scrape," they use real chopped up tuna in their tuna rolls, their portions are more than generous, and they use real, fresh wasabi. The staff is friendly, the decor is fun, and you really can't beat the Wednesday/Saturday deals ($1.25 for most plates for dinner on Wednesday and all day Saturday).
Gary
This is easily one of my favorite places to get sushi, ever. I always eat at least 5 plates. I enjoy the salmon and tuna quality they usually have. The nigiri is always excellent. Friendly staff, great presentation and aesthetic.
Andrew Hart
Been coming here for over ten years. Always great quality. Simple, fresh, good prices, friendly staff. They dont mess around with gaudy deep fried giant sushi. Sashimi style is the best. ごちそうさまでした!
Haide Giesbrecht
Fun conveyor sushi, delivered by toy train
R Raw
Not a half bad place until you try better sushi. I can't eat the fish raw here without smothering in soy/wasabe, so it just can't make the cut. Some of the cooked dishes here aren't half bad. it's worth a trip just to experience the unique ambience. Nice place, needs better fish.
Geoff Rinehart
Best hidden sushi belt in Portland! Features Train instead of conveyor to distribute sushi. Recommend calamari and oyster (their presentation is my absolute favorite of anyplace/anywhere). VERY friendly staff and sushi chefs. Love this place! ! !
Ash Bunny
I have been going to Sushi Ichiban whenever I can since 2010. I love it. I take my friends, family, colleagues, and significant other there. They have great service. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, the fresh ginger sodas are perfect. Everything is fresh. Custom orders are made quickly and delivered with a smile.
It is a classic sushi-go-round with a twist. Inside of this little red building is a sushi-go-round set up without a conveyor belt. It is a toy train on railroad tracks and it is on the flatcars/wagons the sushi rides. There are also four booths in the back that are rather comfortable. There are stacks of plates by the back of the train tracks that you can grab from or you could use their menus organized by plate pricing, that you can order directly on and hand in directly for the sushi to be made for you then and there. They have lots of traditional food options as well (ramen, miso, azumi or taro or pork bao, etc.) and deserts from mochi ice cream to cheesecake slices. They have saki, including a coconut one that is to die for. They sell candy at the counter.
I highly recommend going. Wednesday evenings and all day on Saturday they have a delicious deal on their sushi.
For PokéMon Trainers: Yes, it is a Pokéstop.
Michael T
My favorite sushi place! Good sushi, great prices!
Newbies! There are no posted instructions here, and most are afraid to ask. It is not completely intuitive, choices are NOT limited to what is on the train. If you don't see it on the train, order on the paper menu by checking the box and placing said paper menu where chefs will see it.
They really should post instructions somewhere.
Be sure to try the local organic Wasabi, not on the menu.
Sharon Stern
My favourite sushi place! Has a "sushi train" that is fun to take off of. Near excellent service, the only problem is that they sometimes leave the cashier unmanned, though the prices are printed on the wall (I like to count the prices myself).

The food was very delicious. Not only could you choose from many different types of sushi but there are also non sushi items and desserts. The train that goes around the table is the best part of the whole experience.
Andy Bochmann
Great place to get good Sushi for a good price. I go there for almost two years now, pretty much every 2-3 weeks. I like it, especially their Unagi and cucumber salad. They also have a good variety on deserts next to Sushi.
Thomas Hanby
Great sushi and Japanese cuisine, friendly staff, cute location. The train is paced excellently and their steamed buns are amazing. You can get stuffed for a very reasonable price.
Robin Freeburn
Pretty much my favorite sushi place, I am here weekly. I love how you can choose quick items from the train or order off the menu and it makes no difference in the (cheap) price of the plates. Some of my favorites are Keo special #2, fried oyster nigiri and tuna nigiri. I think for the price the quality is excellent.
Sam Dienes
This is where I ate my first plate of sushi, back in 2001, when it was Sushi Takahashi. The place may have changed names, but it's still got great food, great prices, helpful and fun staff, and I even think it's still the same model HO train doing laps around the bar delivering tasty plates for your perusal. I love showing this place off to friends, probably my favorite hidden gem in downtown Portland.
Matt Lamont
Grab a seat at the sushi bar! There will be a wait, but it is worth it to get served by a toy train. What more can you ask for?! The sushi isn't going to be the best you ever had, but it is pretty good and the prices are great. Did I mention the train?
Reid Morgan
I came in to town for work. I like rotary sushi places, and this was a fun twist with the train bringing possible sushi choices by your seat. The sushi was yummy, and the price was reasonable too. I'll certainly come back on my next business trip!
Enton Lok
A few of my favorite items: tuna poke boat, seared salmon nigiri, salmon skin hand roll, fried oyster hand roll. Love this spot
Elodie Massa
Best sushi in Portland, instead of your traditional conveyor belt it's a real electric train that brings you your sushi! Our whole family finds this place extremely delicious and very filling! I'm definitely giving this 5 stars!I hope you enjoy it too, -massa family
Jason Clow
Favorite sushi place in Portland! Great quality and selection for a good price. Order from the menu or grab it off a train. Music is eclectic, but a fun mix.
Andrew Engert
One of my favorites in Portland. Train sushi is such a classic! While this place has changed hands over the years the feel and service is still the same. It’s weird to talk about tradition for a sushi spot, but Portland is all about the strange nostalgia. And well, few places hold it like this one.
Anya Ard
The food was good and we were seated immediately but not all of our first paper order was made and the second round of our paper order never even got started. The train they had going around had almost no food on it and the seats were full. Instead of talking to each other and standing around I think everyone there would have rather had food then watch that. Especially since we were there for an hour and my partner n I only had 12-14 plates between us.
Jake Needham
Place was busy as usual but the staff never missed a beat. I was seated immediately, had several staff check in on me and bring my delicious order quickly. Their rolls are amazing. Check them out, lots to choose from. Thank you!
William Sun
Fun place to grab sushi during a lunch break. The train keeps kids entertained and they have a great selection. Custom orders are also really good along with their hand rolls.
John “Mob” Balouris
GREAT cheap sushi place! I know that sushi and cheap aren't often a great combo, but I'm a connosior. I studied Japanese language and culture for well over a decade and also worked at a high class sushi restaurant for a few years. The fish is fresh and the music is fresher. Pro tip: Ask for a taro root steamed bun!
Richard Landucci
First time here today. Simply put, blown away. Grab sushi off the train or order it from the chefs themselves. I loved the Kao's Special #2. However everything is good. Plenty of beer, wine and sake as well. Inexpensive to eat a ton of food too. I highly recommend you swing by if you want a quick sushi fix, or to make a night of it like my Wife and I did.
Robert Olson
This is my favorite place to eat in Portland.
I rarely go out to eat, because I prefer to keep my money and cook healthily. This is one of those rare places where you can get food of higher quality than what may be produced at home, while still being healthy and affordable.
I use "affordable" loosely. It is affordable by a poor students' standards. I would say cheap, were it not for the negative associations typically conferred by that descriptor.
Perhaps I should say, "Cheap sushi that can easily stand toe-to-toe (fin-to-fin?) with any other sushi I have encountered in Portland - and I am picky."
Not to mention: instant seating and feeding. Faster than fast food drive-through (unless you have to park).
Evan Taylor
Probably the best and most authentic menu in Washington county, even beats out most Portland places in my opinion. Very cool vibe there being in the basement of an old library. Can't go wrong with really anything there. Excellent food and sushi and always seems very fresh.
Kevin Hall
Great place with a nice vibe and a train that brings you sushi. You can't go wrong.
Kenneth Neal
The staff is great and something about receiving sushi from a train on the table is pretty sweet. Fresh sushi and a great price. It's not just conveyor sushi, you can also request rolls or other items of their menu.
Wally Kramer
A consistent business for over 20 years, it continues to deliver very good quality sushi freshly made right in front of you. It is a very economical. Two people can stuff their faces for about $20 total.
Daniel Vivanco
Delicious sushi belt place. Fresh preparations, good service and ambiance.
Collin Wagstaff
First Sushi I've ever eaten and it was great! The waitresses were friendly and accomodating, and the food was tasty. Next time I'm in Portland, I will definitely be stopping by again.
Jenelle Peterson
Cheap sushi, good times. Between two people, we spent about $18 and both left with full bellies. The conveyor belt was an actual toy train which was as cute as it was novel, but the food was way better than "novelty toy train kautenzushi" makes you think it would be. Get the ebiten sushi, its cheap and delicious, the best combination.
Je Ange
Friendly, easygoing staff, good sushi and the train was super cute and fun to watch
Bryant Delvis
Good sushi at a reasonable price. With trains and boats you just never know how long the food has been on them. The place had great decorations.
Lily “LEE-LEE”
Tasty & great prices! I love sushi places with conveyor belts. They also got cheese cake.
Jon Roth
Good food, great atmosphere, and good service. The train as a conveyor belt has it's pros and cons. Pro is that there's less distraction by food constantly passing, con is that it doesn't have as much on it at a time, so you have to grab stuff while it's close by or you miss out. If you want something specific then you can also ask for it, so if you miss something, but can find it on the menu you're good.
jason allen
A Portland institution that was Takahashi before it changed ownership in 2007 but the quality and the concept have remained the same. I challenge you to find any sushi which is a better value than this in Portland. Special hint: order the calamari skewers, tempura Thai, the Jo roll, the caterpillar roll, fresh salmon, spicy salmon skin hand roll off of the menu rather than waiting for them on the train.
Ryan Castro
Sushi Ichiban is not only delicious, it's amazing happy hour deals. I came here with my wife and for less than $20 we had one of the best sushi meals we've ever had. Not only is the food great, not only are the prices unbelievable, but the train that the sushi comes around on is adorable. We make sure to come back here every few weeks.
E. R. “JD” DeQuatto
The frozen pork buns are always good as a little cheat treat. The sushi is quite good, except I think it's slightly over priced by $0.50 - $0.75. It never seems to be super busy, and the service is excellent. It's a solid three stars.
Gerald del Campo
This is the only place I've ever been to where a train brings you your food. My daughter learn to eat sushi at this location because of that train. Now she is a slave to Sushi like the rest of us. I always make plans to meet friends there when I visit Portland.
Cooper Prescott
An excellent time as always at Sushi Ichiban! This is a great niche location with charm and excellent service. It should be noted that this location is not for the high-end sushi connoisseur, but for the blue collar crowd that loves good food and a good atmosphere.
Christopher Villanova
I felt the quality and prices were good!
Lyssah Van Baalen
A gem. You get your small plates of sushi off an old model train that continually circles the sushi chefs. Quiet for portland. Food is better than average, not fantastic, but atmosphere is unique.
Benji
The cute train is the best! Good sushi better than a lot of other conveyor belt style places.
Dapper Emu
Good sushi. Lots of variety and interesting choices on the belt. I felt like the fish could've been a bit fresher, but it definitely wasn't bad and I can't complain for the cost.
Amber Harmon
THE BEST track sushi ever! EVER!!! I often drive from Canby just to have dinner at Sushi Ichiban. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and cant-beat prices. I recommend The Caboose, a sweet bean steamed bun (humbow) and anything with the sweet chili sauce.
Noemi Rowland
We've been coming here for over 17 years and never had a bad experience. It's amazing the food is consistently delicious. The staff is very friendly. I recommend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys great sushi.
Trevor Jackson
Delicious sushi and affordable. Great experience.
Felix Christian
Definitely the best reasonably priced sushi I've had in portland. The jo roll is especially delicious. There are also a fair number of vegetarian and vegan options, such as the caboose, a delightful sweet potato and thai basil roll with sweet chili sauce.
Ben Young
Sooooo many options, and didn't taste a thing that felt like it'd been spinning the belt for very long, everything was so tasty and fresh. And as a vegan, there was a TON of super great options I never felt left out. The Tofu Inari pockets, avocado & mushroom roll, the Caboose (Sweet Potato and Basil) and them friggin SPRING ROLLS
Marieke Verweij
Awesome place for good, fast and affordable sushi! It's not *** sushi, but it's definitely tasty and your bill is 80% lower! The belt is nicely filled but you can also order anything you want on top of that. Check it out!
Kay Berry
Staff is nice, place is pretty clean, the interior is kinda sketchy but I can overlook it, the food is fresh, they filet the fish right there in front of you, they are eager to make special arrangements, and even work with you if you are gluten intolerant or have special food needs.
I love this place, I wish I could eat here everyday.
My fave is the Tokyo, spicy tuna hand roll, miso, and the dynamite hand roll. So yummy!
Bud Coe
Just pluck your favorite sushi off the moving train as it comes by. Enjoy a Japanese brew, and chat it up with your sushi dude in the bull pen. My choice to have good, cheap sushi.
Nathanael Dermyer
Fresh, delicious, creative sushi in a train! What's not to love? If you want something specific, grab a menu and fill it out. Check this jewel of a sushi bar out for sure.
Kyle Elliott
The train is fun but the sushi is mediocre. Bustling with lots of you people. Lineup of 10 people on a Sunday night and we only had to wait 10 minutes. Staff were rushed but courteous.
Jessica G
Very chill atmosphere and cool setup. The sushi comes around on a mod train! Sushi was good but nothing spectacular. Would recommend as a casual place.
Bren Miaira Kutch
Most vegetarian sushi is $1, and as of about a year ago, they have a bunch of awesome veggie additions on the specials menu for a great price as well. Can't say I can compare it to "real" sushi, but I love this place and is definitely on my top 5 list in Portland.
Zac S.
Great place to grab some quality sushi for the price. Great customer service that is hard to find anywhere.
Rachel C
Good food. Very affordable. Service wasn't great -- there were a lot of different people who waited on us, so it wasn't clear who was doing what; they didn't ask us what/how we wanted to order, which was confusing because you can get several things & not just from the conveyor belt; and although they took our drink orders, they forgot my husband's beer.
Lisa Marie
One of my favorite restaurants in Portland! The train is fun for visitors, the food is always fresh and delicious, and there are plenty of options, even for vegans. Pro tip, let the guys behind the train know if you have any such dietary restrictions and they'll take care of you. No guessing what's what. Even though they were busy, they just kept handing me vegan dishes til I was stuffed! If I could marry a sushi roll you can bet it would be the Caboose. 10/10
Karina Martinez
Beware when going downtown since there are lots of homeless we encountered a crazy person that was throwing garbage at our car even the trash can was thrown at the car
Alexis Cosgrove
Quality sushi for the price, the conveyor belt is a model train (i.e. really cool), the prices are worth my time. When I went, the credit card reader was down and I had to use an atm to pay my bill.
Colby Mills
Inexpensive and tasty sushi in a no-frills setting with a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Best value we've found in PDX. Also excellent if you want a quick bite.
Kevin Nonaka
Good Cheap sushi! Nice cozy spot. Spider roll, escolar and unagi are delicious. Order off the sheet to ensure it's fresher than the train.
Dorothy Lewis
The workers are very nice and helpful when I am trying out food. And the sushi is the best to me. I love this place because of the diversity of people who come in. Do not change your location that's what makes is so unique
Russell Wisniewski
Best sushi place for NW inspired sushi in Portland. Lots of fun salmon based items. And it has a toy train to deliver dishes! Great experience that is fun and delicious.
Jon Adams
I go here as much as possible. It has an authentic vibe and really friendly staff. I never fear trying anything new and it's cheap enough to eat like a king. They get my 5 star rating, hands down. Try the salmon skin hand roll, kalamari, and all the chef specials!
Alicia Mariah Elfving
I love this place. It's a hectic downtown spot, can get super busy at times. Especially on Sushi Special days. As Sushi Takahashi, it was great. As Sushi Ichiban, it's still delicious. The staff didn't change, the core principals didn't change either. I have literally been going here since I was 10 years old. I'm 22 now. Twelve years of damn delish Sushi. Now THAT is amazing. By the way, it's freaking CHEAP. And the quality isn't all... Sushiopolis.
Taylor Eke
This place is 6 stars if I could give it. Best sushi, best value. We go on and on about how great it is! Get the hand rolls for a really good value!
Fabie van Cappel
I give them a 3 because I ordered a Japanese classic - chirashi bowl - which was not on the menu! But they delivered. The bowl is a classic in Japan. I fell in love with the small elderly Japanese lady who had a laughed with her heart when she realized that I ordered something different!!!
Josh Collier
Great sushi place... Fantastic atmosphere.. They have a model train that takes the sushi around to everyone instead of the conveyor belt setup. You can also find the occasional game of trivia or tic tac toe going around the train to play against fellow eaters
Brandon W
One of my favorite places to go for sushi and other things. Awesome staff and really laid back. It's like visiting a friend's work or a long time familiar place
Just a Ghost
I really liked the food. They make it in front of you. The was sushi is really fresh. Plus the sushi comes around on a train. I would receive it for kids that like trains and for people who want good sushi.
Kyle Dennis
Good time. If the train doesn't have what you want, just ask. Very helpful.
Brian Darnell
Sushi Ichiban is our favorite sushi place in the Portland area. My wife and I are gluten free and even after moving to Gresham, Ichiban is worth the drive.
Brian Keller
Sushi train. Solid sushi, service, and atmosphere for the price.
Kat Loaf
After a decade of local sushi exploration, I can say with certainty that this is my favorite conveyor belt sushi place. Hands down, best value, great quality and an awesome kicking atmosphere. Shout out Serafina (spelling butchered probably) for consistently being epic, everyt time.
Scott Bricker
I absolutely love Sushi Ichiban. It’s small and has a nice feel. And the train collections are something I’ve been able to watch grow over the years.
Mathias Kadoi
I've always loved this place, I worked here for 4 years some my best friends work here. They have awesome fresh food, great drinks, wonderful special plate night. If you're downtown Portland this is a definite place to try, you won't regret it.
Ivy Hover
Fast, filling and affordable! Plus the sushi rides around on a Train. You can also order exactly what you want (try the Dynamite Handroll!) if you don't enjoy surprises.
Ashley Baylor
Sushi Ichiban has been one of our favorites for years. Great food, such amazing service. 👌🏻 …
Laura Chesshir
It was a good experience, but the sushi wasn't very flavorful. Very kid friendly. They have a few different types of high chairs.
P Collins
LOVE the salmon-skin handrolls, lots of good meat. Escolar is a treat if you like sashimi (buttered popcorn flavor was the description we were given, which captures some of its essence). I like being at the bar watching the chefs work.
Rachel Young
My favorite sushi and really fair prices keep my family coming back year after year.
Devon Scofield
Really loved it, there's usually a wait even a few minutes after it opens but it's worth it for good cheap sushi. The train's fun too.
Lynn Chafai
I absolutely love Sushi Ichiban and the staff that works there !! Always consistently delicious and the staff makes me feel so welcome when I have the opportunity to go which isn't often enough !!
Frank J. Trezza
Absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere, a train goes around with food on it. All around fun.
Drea Jo
I would have never noticed this place if my friends didn’t suggest it. Good Sushi, great prices! Better than any others in town, in my opinion.
Jessica Salomon
On the outside, this place looks like nothing special. But yes, you are in the right place and my only advice is arrive hungry. The sushi was amazing and the service was great too!
Zheng Huang
Great place!
Tyler Mangin
A nice place to stop to grab a quick bite. The prices are good and it's fun to pick plates off the toy train.
Kind of a novelty with the train, but the prices were very good for the quality of the food. Would definitely go back.
Monica Oliveira
This place is great! A little bit of a wait when we went but worth it. They are not expensive either. The sushi was excellent!
Devon Snider
Always friendly staff and super fresh delicious sushi. The fresh salmon is the best I've ever had. I come here more than I should admit.
Andrew Brach
If you are going to get sushi in Portland this is the place to go. Best part of sushi trains is no waiting for your orders. Sit down and bam sushi is in your face. Wednesday's special is amazing, btw.
Michele Dwiggins
Don't let the outside fool you! This place is very good for conveyor belt type sushi, and was very clean and busy. There was a wide variety of sushi, and the employees were very friendly!
Shelly Beutell
Great place to go for a first time sushi experience. We have tried other places since going there and by far sushi ichaban is the freshest. friendly staff and always helpful..
Richard Smith
If you like sushi this is the place to go, you get stuffed on good quality fresh fish at a very reasonable price. Really cant ask for anything more haha!
Brenda Richards
Just started Keto was impressed with Sashimi plate of tuna, salmon and a white fish I don't recall. Was pretty presentation and the choo choo is always a delight as it travels by. Some times there is a traveling tic tac toe on the engine take a peak and you can play too!🤗 …
Julianne Tilley
This was my first time at a sushi bar where the sushi goes around the table where you take a plate as you please. It was a fun experience for dinner and the sushi was worth the price.
Lauren Tamayo
Everything was delicious and staff was super friendly. The tuna and salmon nigiri was to die for!!
Marshall Guthrie
Best kept secret. Upper mid-tier sushi at a good price. Decent selection. Sushi rides the train. A few blocks from Baileys.
Max Rutter
WOW. I absolutely loved this place. Train comes around and you take a plate and based on the color, the price is determined when you're stuffed you the gills. Delicious and fun. Definitely recommend this joint
Lou Anne
Excellent selections. Great service. Hint: go for the small sake. Stays hotter longer and is actually cheaper per ounce! Think we found our new regular;)
J Andy Kane
Our family's favorite sushi spot. Unbeatable happy hour prices, great sushi, and kid friendly. Locomotive conveyer at the bar, tables at the back.
Michelle Robles
I've been going to this place when it was still called Sushi Takahashi. They have great sushi and the prices are reasonable. They have white plate special on Saturdays. Very friendly staff.
Stephanie Caulley
This is our sushi place. Wednesday nights and Saturday lunch and dinner are the "cheap" times, but their normal prices are really good. My favorite is the Popper and the Caboose.
Ben Tatham
Decent sushi at reasonable prices.
Malcolm Torres
This is the classic dive, hole in the wall, hipster joint just off Burnside. I highly recommend it. I have eaten here many times and always satisfied with the excellent sushi.
JD Hartley
This place is AWESOME! The salmon is super fresh and the sushi train just kept a'comin! Definitely recommend eating here
Kitty K
The ONLY sushi go round worth going to. Always the highest quality, been going there over 10 years, same staff. I can't say enough good things.
Christine Taylor-Born
Great experience!
Jonah Buxton
Dang what ! This is joint!!! Pro tip: WHAT YOU ORDER ON THE PAPER WILL BE HAND DELIVERED AND YOU ARE WELCOME TO ENJOY WHateverrs on the train in the mean time :)
Julia Ju
Great hidden gem, sushi is fresh, great service. Google said it was closed one day and we call and apparently Google was wrong and what a wonderful mistake, had a very enjoyable lunch with the kids.
Alexey Ball
Fast, super fresh fish. Not fancy. We come here frequently
Spoon Carvalho
While this wasn’t the best sushi I’ve ever had, it was pretty good. I love how I was able to come in for a quick bite and be on my way.
Richard Zhao
Low priced fresh sushi that's served on a train, what else can one ask for? We visit Portland from Las Vegas once or twice a year and we stop by here at least once a day!
dumb idiot
Really decent sushi train with an actual train. Cute! They sell shirts too. Cheap and good
kaliipnet
Best sushi go round place in the Portland metro area. They have vegan, vegetarian and non sushi eater choices. Don't leave until you have eaten a plager roll, salmon skin handroll, Tokyo and cho cho with avocado handroll. Mmm!
Vitaly Kolas
Very good revolving sushi restaurant. The train pulling the sushi plates is a nice touch. The service is good and the staff is very nice.
Jennifer Johnston
My fav quick go-to sushi restaurant. Super friendly staff, good fresh fish and inexpensive!
Lydia Jack
This place was absolutely amazing. The food was great, not to mention fairly priced, the people were nice, and the service was good. Its a little whole in the wall but once you get inside its really nice. I will definitely eat here again the next time I'm in Portland!
Octobertiger (lady tiger)
Not the best sushi I have ever had, but it was a very nice atmosphere and pretty good service.
jennifer vaandering
Grat quality sushi! And I'm picky
Kristin Pdx
Probably the best and most reliable long standing sushi track in Portland. Been going there for at least 10 years. Gotta love the fact that the sushi track is a train track.
Karen Lane
Ok Sushi. Not much variety when I there. It was fun to pick the Sushi off the belt and try a little of this or that. The only down side was that it didn't have half the menu items available.
Bill Doyle
Take out only. When home we ate very fresh food. Plenty of ginger and wasahabi. Going back again. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Rachel Scarlet
It's just another sushi track. Nothing special, nothing displeasing either. The prices are fine. The wait can be long, but I seem to have gotten lucky most visits, beating the rush.
Danielia Lewis
This place is so good and classic. The staff always helpful to a new person who has just started eating sushi. I just love it
Vien Hoang
Great sushi on a conveyor belt, as well as hand made by the chef. Staff is friendly and great. Would return here again.
Veronica Harker
cheap and tasty sushi that anyone can enjoy. it seems very authentic, although its not like ive ever been to japan lol. it tastes fresh though and thats what i think really matters.
Benjamin Shepherd

riley parker
Great food for a cheap price. So many interesting house rolls, and a wonderful staff. Great place for dates or catching up with a friend.
Ezekiel Zabertini
Decent sushi for a great price. The conveyer is well-stocked and fresh, but some of the selection is better skipped.
Lorena Lopez
Not bad at all for a sushi train, and pretty cheap! Everything tasted fresh and the chefs were all dress like train conductors.
Kilah Roberts
Love this place! The people are great, and the sushi is awesome. Plus they have an awesome model train!
Andrew Gundlach
This was a first visit for my wife and me. Love the little train! Our waiter was excellent and we will definitely be back.

Affordable, fun, and with many options (including vegan and vegetarian). Nice casual sushi place with conveyor belt.
Cyd Gann
Love the train, this is the best dive sushi around. Been there for years, cheap eats on Wednesday and Saturday so get there early.
Mike Cutright
Good food and friendly service in a lively atmosphere. It's not the best food, it's not the cheapest. However, it is a favorite place I go to again and again.
Daniel Handler
Nice little spot. Fantastic sushi at an affordable price. Oh and the train is fun too.
Scott Schmidt
Got in just a few minutes after lunch opening and got lunch in and out fast.food was great as usual, new thing, deep fried calamari on a stick.yum!
Mighty Mike McGee
I always look forward to eating here. Tasty food at a great price. You can't beat it. Food delivered to me on a toy train? You had me at "food."
Kate
There's a TRAIN and it BRINGS YOU SUSHI. I can't really talk about the quality of the sushi itself because the part with the train skews my perception.
Gabriel Cazares
Great prices and great food. Besides the revolving sushi, we ordered soup and chicken yakisoba and it was all delicious
Jacklyn Stellway Beard
Really good quality, especially for the price! My new favorite Portland sushi train restaurant
Jordan Carreras
The most delicious food and the most friendly staff!!!!!! I go at least once a month they are soo good would highly recommend to anyone!
steve moses
The service was pleasant and light the food was acceptable but nothing special. I'm not some place I would come back to a second time. Good portions however a bit pricey for what it was.
Clara Castle
Most of the wait staff is vary attractive. Food is amazing I would appreciate more vegan choices but the rest is amazing
Mel NB
Always love their sushi and it's pretty cheap starting at $1.50 per white plate
Patrick Vroman
I enjoy the variety of sushi carried around on the cute little sushi train. They also let you special order.
Kathryn Hoffberg
Cool train instead of a conveyor belt. Hard to tell whats veg. I had the seaweed salad, felt it was a bit over priced.
Meridith “KillianDrake” Fishkin
This is a kyten (belt sushi) and its cute with a little train. The prices are unbelievably cheap for what your eating, but the quality matches the price so be careful.

Tasty miso soup. Very fresh sushi. Friendly and helpful chefs and server.
