First dinner in the Portland area to start my Willamette wine tour weekend and this restaurant did not disappoint. The ambiance was really nice and I can see why the warm time of year this restaurant being a nice place to visit. The food was delicious. The Seafood stew was top notch and I found another restaurant with octopus prepared perfectly. I highly recommend stopping by and this restaurant is $$$-$$$$ in pricing.

I have been here three times over the years when I travel to Oregon for work or fun. Every time this place has been fantastic. Great appetizers, the Mole Pork shank this past trip was amazing. The bartenders also do a great job with the cocktails. Can't say enough good about this place.

My favorite place for a fancy dinner! I've taken my husband there, his friends, my ex-husband, my mother, my realtor, and one of my best friends. It's not cheap, but the food and wine are just amazing. It's actually one of the only places where I'll order alcohol. The desserts are to die for. Parking around there isn't hard, and I've often been able to park right in front. The staff is amazing. One waiter complimented my husband on his magnificent beard and remembered us months later. One of the waitresses had a Misfits tattoo and she was so excited when I recognized it. Just writing this review, I want to book a table. Highly recommended!

Everything was served on time. Loved the short rib as it was tender. The sauce/dressings of each meal really added a lot of flavor too. I liked the mix of thin sliced apples with the slightly salty sauce. We didn’t like the seafood and house meal as much as the short rib, though the crab had a delicious buttery texture. Overall, would highly recommend!

I hosted a large Christmas dinner party here and it was amazing. Thank you for working with me to make a special menu for my party. The 5 course option is great as food keep coming and all you have to worry is how much fun you are having. Flavors are unique which make you want to come back for more. Service was extra friendly and attentive for the large party. Thank you for everything!!!

Our group went family-style and got 3 appetizers, 4 entrées, and 1 dessert, which turned out to be just the right amount of food for 3 (very) hungry people. The dishes were delicious, featuring well-matched combinations of ingredients. (See photos and captions for more detail.)
The cocktail menu has some fascinating twists on well-known classics (along with the classics themselves).
Overall a good experience. The only thing stopping this from being a 5-star review is service -- though absolutely no fault of the waiter. It seemed like the place was generally understaffed, and there was only the one waiter working the entire main dining area for most of our meal. Still excellent service, but he had precious little time for each table -- of which there were many. Possibly for this reason (or otherwise), we were also asked to put in our combined appetizers+entrées order all at once.

This was my first time here and it was as amazing as I had been told. I got the Baby Back Pork Ribs in Oaxacan Mole. The meat was super tender, and the mole was a beautiful, rich flavor. The meal was overall, amazing. The service was on point. Not annoying, but there when needed and always polite and considerate. The atmosphere was also wonderful. In short, the whole experience was fantastic and I highly recommend it. I will definitely be visiting again.

Lighting a beacon for downtown Portland, Q offers an experience full of flavour and passion at a very reasonable cost. Service was attentive and informative and the hard-working, and seemingly telepathic kitchen crew communicated cheerfully as they created before our eyes.
One not to be missed when in Portland!

In all honesty it deserves a 3.5, entrée wise. The service was the best I've had in a long time. Our waiter helped us through the menu, and let us know what everything on it was. Great service. However their signature dish (a pricey one at that) left a lot to be desired. While very savory and cooked to perfection it was very empty. Compared to the pictures it was a very small portion. About 2 spoonfuls of risotto, and 3 bites of the braised beef. All very delicious but not filling. The appetizers were the real show stoppers. From the pork rinds to the bacon wrapped dates it was all delicious. The only thing on the starters menu that feels out of place and overpriced is the Warm Baguette, it was mid. The drinks, both cocktails and their non-alcoholic mocktails were splendidly mixed and balanced. The rack of lamb, a 55 dollar dish was essentially 2 rib bones with about 2 ounces actual meat on them. Will definitely return to see if all of this was a one off. But the service, drinks and ambiance are exactly what you would want on a night out for a nice dinner.

I had a great business dinner here tonight. The hostess was very friendly, our server was very good and walked us through the entire menu. Drinks were great and my hanger steak (pictured) was absolutely amazing!
Danielle Anderson
Our service was fantastic. Our waitress was attentive and walked us through the menu options. The tomato, peach, and burrata appetizer was so fresh and flavorful. The gnocchi were pillowy and delicate, but stood up to the flavorful sauce and sausage.

I love to dine at Q! It is a wonderful place for a pre-theater dinner! The service is impeccable and the timing for a tighter schedule is perfect! My Beanies Cocktail was a great way to start a rainy night dinner! The seasonal salad with miso dressing was a unique spring salad with crispy parsnips and radishes accompanying the asparagus and shitake mushrooms. I had the crispy relleno that was also an unexpected meal. The Meyer Lemon Semi Freddo with blood oranges was delicious! The entire meal was filled with great flavors and textures! It is always fun to sample their seasonal offerings. I am looking forward to my next visit! It is always a special place!

Q Restaurant & Bar provides outstanding food and service. I ordered bacon wrapped dates for my appetizer, Osso Buco for my entree, and piña colada tres leches cake for dessert. Each portion of my meal was exceptional. The Osso Buco the best I’ve ever had, and the tresleches dessert was unique and very flavorful.
The hostess was very friendly and welcoming, and my server was amazing, she was timely and attentive to all my dining needs. I highly recommend this restaurant, and I will return the next time I’m in Portland.
Alan Chung
Came highly recommended by a few dear friends. The place is well kept and quaint. Staffs were freindly. We were quickly seated. Menu had a lot unique dishes and everything looked tantalizing. We settled for the Deviled caviar deviled egg, pear salad, Osso Bucco, and Seafood stew.
The foods were scrumptious. Everything were prepared and paired well. The few highlights were the refreshing pear salad, tender and juice osso bucco and the seafood. The only thing I thought they could have done better is clean the beard off mussels a bit more. Otherwise a definate place for great food downtown Portland.
Emily C
the american/ south american inspired dishes were great. mushroom appetizer and the osso busso (entree) were delicious. asian inspired ones (scallion pancake app) just can’t compare to a traditional asian cooking

Had a wonderful meal for date night. Service was very attentive and quick! The food came out perfectly timed, temperature was perfect, presentation was amazing. Loved the duck spring rolls and bruschetta. The wahu fish was spectacular as well and the ricotta gnocchi wasn’t bad but it’s a little misleading since it was only ricotta balls and I guess I was expecting gnocchi pasta. Overall a grand place.
Margherita Nicotra
Delicious and sophisticated dishes, beautifully paired to the perfect wine selection by a very knowledgeable sommelier. The food was super tasty, and the presentation was beautiful.
Claya Chu
Had a great time eating here. Loved the Filet Mignon the best. The seafood stew was really good as well. (Mussels were so fresh!) The Mille Crepe was also nice though a bit too sweet for me. Overall a great dining experience here.
John Mc Laughlin
Very nice place, decent menu and great drinks choices. I have uploaded a copy of the current menu. I had the Q burger and it was very excellent!!!
Kim Price
Went with my husband for a special occasion and it was just wonderful! Everything was simply delicious. Cocktails, cheese plate, flat iron steak, fish, and Turkish coffee ice cream, all of it was perfection! Atmosphere and staff were amazing as well. Go, you will not be disappointed
Joe Vraneza
You can tell a well-run restaurant almost immediately when you walk in and this is the feeling you get as soon as you enter this spot. The space itself is very warm and welcoming and the staff is just as pleasant.
It is impossible to argue with the food as everything I saw coming out of the kitchen was a pure delight... delicious looking to be sure.
Seafood is the standout but don’t sleep on their meat dishes and be sure to check out the dessert list because it changes frequently and it was filled with all the good stuff.
Shane Neugass
My family really enjoyed this place. Small but well thought out menu with delicious food highlighting a few locally sourced ingredients.
Rima Samman
What an amazing place. Everything was delicious and service was attentive. This place feels like old Italian style home cooking but better. Left here so satisfied and craving more. Very intimate setting, great for a date night.
Melody Murphy Kirk
This is one of the best restaurants in Portland. The staff is incredible, the food is outstanding, and the atmosphere is chic. They leave the huge sliding windows open as well, and seat people as far apart from other parties as possible. We had the Osso Bucco with risotto and the Hanger steak with potatoes and broccolini. Side note: eat the marrow. It's like gravy, although that's like calling caviar "fish eggs". This was the best meal we've had in a long time. I don't give 5 stars often. This place earned it.
Katie Teeler
Honestly, going here was a big disappointment. My husband and I were visiting Portland for the day and planned a nice dinner out. It's not often we go out to a fancy restaurant so it was a big deal for us. For what we paid, we really felt ripped off and let down.
We made reservations but had to wait a LONG time for our food. I'm talking an hour for our appetizer... not even for our main course! 😪 We also were only checked on when our waiter brought us our food or or our bill. Most of the evening we were just waiting. We really just wanted an apology or an acknowledgement that the service was so slow, but we never got one. I wanted to ask for something to be comped, or an explanation, or something! :( It was very frustrating and took away from the evening.
Finally, the portions were TINY. Want a salad or a vegetable? You have to order it on its own, and you only get about 5 bites. Our main courses were also just OK... they didn't taste bad, but they weren't excellent either. Again, for what we paid we were just expecting better and more.
So, overall, we were disappointed and won't be returning.
nbykc U
Nice ambience. Small venue. Hostess pleasant. The only thing that was consistent was the pleasant staff that refreshed our water periodically. We had to wait for ETERNITY to be acknowledged by anyone else. They'd literally make eye contact, and continue to bypass us. It was insane.
DoTheJane Fonda
Great atmosphere, incredible service. We sat in front of the kitchen, which was a really cool experience. The food was, for the most part, great. HOWEVER, everything we ordered that came from the grill was pretty badly charred, and the burger I ordered was the greasiest, most subpar burger I've ever had. Definite avoid it if you end up going.
Reggie Chipen
Just left less than an hour ago. Brought a friend here for her birthday. The food and service was top notch. Hawaiian walu cooked to perfection. Grilled octopus appetizer was very good. Highly recommend the chefs corner. 10/10
Noel Paterson
Fantastic food. Great atmosphere. Staff was very friendly. The flat iron steak was aMAzing. The tuna was also very good. Try the ice cream sandwich for dessert. Small, but tasty! Definitely recommend Q.
jana shepherd
Stopped in on our way to dinner to have drinks—sat at the bar and chatted with the friendly staff. My friend ordered something our bartender wasn’t familiar with but was eager to try and did a great job! The menu looked really good, I’ll definitely go back to grab some food!
Lejin
Must be hands down the best restaurant I've been to in Portland. Great food, amazing service, lovely ambience.
Jeremy Dashe
Had a lovely and delicious dinner here, and will definitely be back!
We were quickly seated by the super friendly staff, and really enjoyed our drinks: a Manhattan and a Sazerac. We ordered Osso Bucco (a house specialty) and a flatiron steak. Both were delicious, served pretty fast by our attentive server. The overall vibe was great, with nice decor. Two thumbs up!

There are a few Portland restaurants where you are guaranteed a special experience. Q is one of those. A solid menu, inspired specials and a really great staff. You go enough times snd it’s the kinda place you start to feel part of the family. Right down to the comfort food.
Tristin Crum
We’ve been coming since the Veritable Quandary, the Q is the most magical restaurant we’ve ever been to, we come for every special occasion and every normal occasion too, as avid world travelers and foodies, no restaurant compares to the Q in regards to food, service, and atmosphere anywhere in the works
Troy Sterling Woody
Always delicious and in set in a lively, upscale-but-relaxed atmosphere. Great wine selection and cocktails, salads and entrees, as well as some tasty small plates and appetizers. A little pricey, but well worth it.
Desniege Joseph
Downtown Portland is the eating and drinking haven 😩. We had tapas at @q_portland which included grilled octopus, Brussels sprouts, seafood soup and the special not on the menu - smoked fish lavash. We had an interactive front seat at the chefs table. I love watching the chefs in action, especially on a busy Friday night. The service was great and would definitely plan to return based on that alone. We enjoyed the food. The soup needed a bit of seasoning for our palette BUT it was very fresh
Sharon Zielinski
Our favorite spot, at the chef's counter. Delightful and informative staff. Our first time back since co-vid. How we've missed it. Amazing, as always 😋
Matt C
Excellent selection of vegetarian and dietary options! The menu might be simple, but the dishes are all delightful.
Charmaine was a wonderful host to us! Will be back soon.

My partner and I have been here twice now, once for dinner and once for brunch. We were very pleased both times. For dinner, I had the Osso Buco, which was amazing. Dessert was the lemon pudding cake, which also very good. Not too sweet, not too tart. For brunch, I had the Chilaquiles, which were exactly as good as they were at VQ. My partner had the Blackened Catfish and was very happy with it. Service was top notch both times, as good as you would expect for a restaurant at this price range. Reservations are definitely recommended, it's been busy both times we've been there.
Karen Pearman Montez
Everything about this first visit was extraordinary!!! DO sit at the counter! You'll get to meet the fantastic staff. DO try as many things as are offered (at the counter, wee samples find their way to you to try!). I was honored to meet Chef. She's assembled a top-notch team that brings farm to table in ways that will make your taste buds sing! Today was indeed my first time - can't wait to visit again. Try them soon! You'll be blown deliciously away!!!

Excellent Pacific Northwest cuisine and fun cocktails! Tuna salad with local greens was excellent and generous portions. Be warned though they open till midnight the dining room closes at 10pm
Divyang Riziya
Staff was one of the nicest I've met. ERIN especially was wonderful. Made our son we such a nice time. Went for a 5 course vegetarian chiefs special and were surprised with each course. Must go.
Limor Gavish
Amazing and creative food, impeccable service!
Fresh mango and avocado salad was super tasty and repressing.
Hanger steak was tender and delicious!
For dessert - the chocolate souffle was good but expensive.
I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area and looking for an upscale dining experience
Cynthia Lepore
The food and service here is AMAZING! Been a long time since I had food this good. It did not disappoint. It's busy every night so try to get reservations. If you have a small enough party definitely sit at the "chef's table". Best perk here is that the chef's may just give you tasty little bites of things in between your courses. You'll also have views of the kitchen along with all the food prep. Just know that you'll be sitting at a counter instead of a table. One of their signature dishes, the Osso Bucco is TO DIE FOR! I never order or even eat veal, but it was a specialty and recommended. It was so good I wanted to lick the plate. The risotto that comes with it is especially tasty. Get the Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Dates as an appetizer. They normally come with 3 so take your server up on their offer to make it 4+. You'll each want several of your own. The chocolate souffle is very good and light. I can't wait to go back here to try more. The service was top notch as well, something pretty rare these days. Hands down one of the best restaurants in the PNW!
Charlie Te
A great place for a nice business lunch or even a casual lunch. The service here is stellar and the food is also great. One of favorite items here is their Reuben Sandwich. Its tasty, but a bit messy...but definitely worth it.
Mory Jahangir
Very nice lunch of beef stroganoff. Good house red wine. Looking forward to coming back for dinner.
We went back for lunch and this time I had NY strip skewer with wonderful vegetables and a reduction sauce. It was wonderful as usual.
Danielle Flinn
The bacon wrapped dates are a must have for an app! Delecious all round meal; A little expensive but the flavor pallette is well worth it! Also are able to accommodate various allergens including gluten.
Sushila Shenoy
Had the 9oz steak special. The steak itself was okay, but the potatoes/mushrooms/sauce it came with were amazing.
Quentin Stossel
The menu blew me away. And the wait staff know how to present it, wow. Food was on point and overall feeling in the space matches. Check out the ceiling panneling and floor materials... Not inexpensive, but the chef delivers. That's for sure.
Loretta White
Farm to table amazing original food. Lunch and dinner menus.
Best plate of sauté spinch ever had in my life!!
Original cocktails
Claudette VanDomelen
The food was out of this world. Fresh dishes made with local in season ingredients. The staff made us feel very special on our anniversary. They brought us a complementary glass of bubbly for me and a mocktail for my husband, who doesn't drink. They ever printed Happy Anniversary on the top of our menu. Our experience could not have been any better.
Michael Frodyma
Incredible meal with a staff that knows exactly when to be by your table and when not to. Very nice wine list as well. Duck confit egg rolls and osso bucco were outstanding.
Liz Shatterly
Another amazing dining experience in Portland! Everything we had was done to perfection along with the service. Try the pork chop and the fresh catch but leave room for desert...it had to be shared.
Deidre Debski
Q was wonderful as usual, we enjoyed a few staple appetizers and tried some new dishes of wonderful texture and taste combinations.
Vanessa Vizi
This was our first visit since VQ closed and we were amazed at how great everything was and how much the experience lived up to our expectations. If we only get down to Portland once a year, it will be for our Pi(e) Day Wedding Anniversary every year. Great welcome by the host staff, and custom Happy Anniversary menus were printed for us. Amazing service and very understanding about the 5 month old baby sitting on our laps, making noise during dinner. Food was better than we remembered; my husband could still remember the first time he had the osso bucco 5 years ago and said it more than lived up to memory. To end the fabulous night there was a candle on the pie to celebrate our special day. Thank you so much for a fabulous evening and anniversary, and we hope to be back soon.
Matthew Kress
Really love the food and the service here. Miss the old location, when it was the VQ, but this place is still very nice. The menu changes frequently which is great so I can always try something new. Good for a date night before heading over to the Keller for a production.
Victoria
The creme brulee and seafood stew were excellent! The sangria is also very good 😊 …
Connie Cermak
We love Q. Service is good and the wait staff is exceptionally personable. However, they have discontinued their famous chocolate souffle. May wait to go back when it's on the menu.
AJ Park
A friend and I dropped in one evening because we thought we wanted Luc Lac (across the street) but realized we didn't want to wait for Luc Lac. We decided to try out Q and wasn't disappointed. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. We appreciated the freshness and quality of the ingredients in our pizza. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that I ordered a an albacore tuna dish but there actually wasn't much tuna on it, which was a disappointment because the tuna from the nibble I got out of it, it tasted good. It feels like such a small thing to dock out a star...but I have to be true to myself and my experience.
j blunden
Dates delish! Watermelon salad wonderful! Sunfish superb! But - leave room for the desserts: sorbets stupendous and peach/plum tart so tasty. The bon bon was beyond tres bien!
Rick Scadlock
I happened to notice this wonderful restaurant while walking through Portland on a beautiful Saturday. They were serving brunch so I decided to give it a try. I ordered one of their specialty cocktails, the Dr No, it was excellent! For my main course I had the Pot Pie, it was served piping hot with a perfect crust. The insides filled with root vegetables and chicken, really delicious on a cold winter day. For dessert I tried the apple and cranberry crumble paired with the suggested dessert wine from Hungary. I savored every little bite. The service was prompt and friendly. My only suggestion would be to provide a cloth napkin/placemat for guests sitting at the stone top bar. They placed dishes and utensils directly on the bar, which kind of grosses me out. Other than that, a perfect dining experience.
Brent McCarthy
Food was absolutely amazing and the catered to my 4 yr old prince like he was an adult that was nice
jason watson
Superb food. Good atmosphere. I really recommend the cheese plate for an appetizer it was fantastic! Prices were a little high for my taste but overall its a very nice resturant. The first pic is the chipotle and coffe rubbed new york steak and the second pic is the veal osso buco the were both really really good!
Lama Mouawad
We went for a drink and some snacks. I love the ambiance and the service is extremely friendly. The food was great, I will be back.
MOE Saadi
Really really nice place
I had the Hawaiian Walu and loved it
Update(8.22.22):
Purpose of the visit was an anniversary, and I saw fit to take her to one of the best fine dining experiences in the Portland metropolitan area , Q restaurant and bar is the place for me , we had the Osso Bucco (braised veal) and the Q burger , both we rich with flavor , the burger was the right portion :)
We also had two new cocktails
Clay Walker
Killer service, food, drinks, and dessert. Shout out to Brandon for making the night special. Easy parking at the Trade Center garage a block away for $6 for the entire evening.
Blaze S
A place with great vibes and food! I got Osso Buco and tomato soup. Super delicious. The staffs here are friendly and professional!
Richard Jimenez
Excellent food in an upscale bistro atmosphere. Great 🍸. The service was slow but the overworked server/bartender did his best.
Shibalik Chakraborty
One more Portland favs. Food is absolutely delicious. I had the Chilaquiles and they had a variety of flavor profiles. Would definitely be back for more.
Lane Albanese
Great service and great food. Enjoyed every dish from appetizers to dessert. Great cocktails as well.
Astro Eclipse
Amazing service and delicious food! We sat by the chef's window and we got a few samples :)
Chris Foley
Owesome! Great food (unique)and service. A little pricey, but much better than some of the other places we visited with similar pricing.
Douglas McBride
What an amazing meal from easily one of the best Chefs in Portland!
Chef Anne put together a special Tasting Menu that was nothing short of extraordinary.
My wife and son elected to accompany their meal with craft cocktail pairing whereas I chose the wine pairing... both were nothing short of perfection as well!
Walt Moorhouse
Would be 5 stars if the bar wasn't so slow. Order your drinks about 20 minutes before you need another or go thirsty.
Jamie Morris
Everything is delicious, from the drink, to the bacon wrapped dates, to the hanger steak, and finally the tart!
Antoine VD
Amazing restaurant in Portland. We went there 4 years ago and it's was still as good as our memories. Their Osso Buco (signature dish) was again outstanding.
Unfortunately their famous souffle is not available at the time due to short staff. It's they offer it again , take it !!!!
Ron Salz
Best meal and wine I have had in ages, oso buco was other worldly and the chocolate souffle was the best I have had. Wait staff was genuinely wonderful and her recommendations were spot on. Only visiting Portland, but already planning a trip back just to eat here again.
Kathy Steadman
I went with a group of 5 friends. The menu looked so delicious that we decided to order a lot of items and share. Every dish was DELICIOUS! The Seafood Stew, Walu, and Scallops were the highlights. Service was excellent as far as our needs were concerned, but the waitress could definitely have been friendlier.
JoMarie Farrell
We treated our boss to lunch at Q. Service and food was wonderful. One of our party said the Q burger was one of the best burgers he's ever had. The cocktails were very good. I loved the sangria. Our server made sure to spoil the birthday boy with a complimentary birthday dessert. I would happily return in the future.
Rob Vucinic
Great food and great service. The bacon wrapped dates are unreal. I'd come here for just that a cocktail. It's more of an upscale spot and can get busy. Make reservations ahead of time if you.
Vance Wilson
Q is an amazing restaurant! Honestly, 1 of the best in Portland!!!! It’s great for business or personal occasions. Their menu is constantly updated and they have signature dishes which are amazing!
The staff is great! Very accommodating, friendly, and professional. Every time there I’ve had a great experience.
I highly recommend a visit!
Ashish Singh
I had the baby spinach salad with mushrooms. The musrooms were well seasoned and tasted very hearty. The ambience is nice. The price on some of the entree's could go up to $40.
Jeff Melodia
Wow. I am so lucky to have come here for lunch. Service is impeccable, atmosphere is perfect and the food. Wow!!!! Incredible. Highly recommend
Susan Carlsen
Had a wonderful dinner here. Server knowledgeable about food & Oregon wine & beer. Food was healthy and delicious; loved the just-picked salad greens and Osos Bucco. Both were sized big enough to share. The table next to ours ordered the banana cream pie. It was a tower of treats adorned with chocolate. Next time!
Patty Freeman
So so disappointing. The VQ was my favorite restaurant for nice dinners for years. Q still has good food, but the atmosphere is so generic and loud. I would never go back. It looks like a corporate bar and it’s designed to make people yell at each other. I don’t understand why restaurants do this, but I loathe it and it is one of my criteria. So goodbye, Q, so sad to know I can’t go back. It makes me miss the VQ even more.
Chang Su
The food is amazing, service is fantastic, elegant decor. It has all the ingredients of a great restaurant. Highly recommended.
Bonnie Philo
We are from out of town. My husband booked a reservation here a few weeks before we came down for our vacation. We saw the menu ahead of time but still had no idea what we were getting into since this is the fanciest restaurant we have ever been too. The waitress was super nice and so helpful. We told her we had no idea what anything on the menu was and she walked us through everything. I ordered a drink but didn't like it. It wasn't her fault I'm just picky. She and my husband figured out a drink I would like and she made it. She hand muddled apples into a glass to make me a better drink and offered to do more if I needed. The food was so good. My husband ordered a second plate. The dessert was amazing. We will come back here the next time we're in Portland.
Adam J M Richards
Great pate.
This is a upscale restaurant disguised as a bar.
Excellent desserts and appetizers, limited entree menu - but you can supplement with the bar food menu if all you want is a burger or grilled cheese. You'll also see that some full-menu appetizers have half-size equivalents on that same bar menu.
Ashley Lachney
Holy cannoli, Q is not to be missed if you're in downtown and hungry. Beautiful, indulgent menu. Chic appointments throughout with decor. What made our meal most memorable? The kindness and genuine love we felt from staff. As soon as we mentioned we were seeing a show at the Keller this evening, they went out of their way to ensure that we'd get there in time. They were observant, attentive, and (aside from the delicious food) the reason we'll come back again and again!
Babitha M
Yummy food! Their chef's are professionals. Very thoughtful and friendly service.
Chris Caron
The best 3 course lunch I have had in a long time. A wonderful Caesars salad, then the roast beef sandwich and finished with vanilla bean ice cream and a shortcake cookie, all for $25. Fantastic food at a great price.
Ryan Neergaard
The quality of the food and the service is second to none (anywhere). Chef Annie killing it in the kitchen and Christiana making you feel like the most important person in the world at the bar.
I tip my hat to you all. The only place I want to eat when I’m in Portland!!!
This is the way dining should be experienced!!!
Stacey Vandell
Wow! Uhmm, you've never had a cup of cocoa like this before. AND THE FOOD!! OMG. everything is amazing. Everything.
K. Ching
Very good service. Hostess & waitstaff were exceptional. We were on waitlist. It was so busy we sat next to the door on something that was not seats and they brought a little tv tray like stand for us to read the menu on. Fantastic hawaiian fish. Great place.
Tzu-Ping Chen
Brewery didn’t open because the snow storm. Came here, better then expected, wonderful service and good beer. Food is on par.
Shara
Went for my birthday. We got the dates and prawns for starters. They were both tasty. For our main dishes we got the pork shank and fettucini, both were good, but nothing was spectacular. The cocktails were a complete miss - would not recommend. The service was clinical and impersonal. The atmosphere was unexceptional. There are many other restaurants I'd recommend in Portland over Q.
Kevin Robbins
Superb farm to table restaurant. One of Portland's Best dining experiences overall for sure! Outstanding craft cocktails--Order 2 of the Sazeracs (made right with a hefty swirl of absinthe)! Always adventuresome main plates (example: perfect osso bucco), delicious salads--aim for any greens accompanied by roasted mushroons. Short list of well-chosen wines and a very decent array of local microbrews on tap. Go Right Now!

Nice place with rotating entire selection and great flavors. Drink options are fantastic, service is quick and friendly, and atmosphere is refined.
D P (Dee Pee)
It's got none of the VQ's patina of age or architectural quirkiness but the service, food, and cocktails are a fitting legacy and evolution from its roots.
Emily Arnold
Amazing NYE dinner here! Erin took fantastic care of us and ensured everything was perfect. Food was excellent, and service was kind and attentive.
Michael Mills
Wonderful meal and service. My favorite Portland dining experience. If your looking foe a sweet deal, experience the Monday Prix Fixe Menu.
Laura Iaffaldano
Our best meal while visiting Portland! Service is great & food delicious. Perfect choice for a finer dining experience.
Aoife Parker-Hedderman
Food was to die for - I got the veal shank! Fell off the bone and comes with a small fork to scoop out the bone marrow, which was such a bonus. Research tells me it is full of all sorts of health benefits. Photo does not do the meal justice. (Note: it's rare I give 5 stars)

Fancy and nice food. Fast and good services.

Excellent bar service and the food is always delicious.
Catherine Mccoy
Many choices of entrees, all had different and everyone loved it all.I recommend this restaurant highly!
Teresa Standish
The food here is some of the best I've ever had, and we have had a lot of great food! We had the spinach mushroom warm salad, which was to die for, honestly so delicious 🤤 I also had the veal, which was so tender i didn't need to use a knife, and the flavor- unbelievably good. My hubs had the pork chop which was also amazing! The service here is so great and friendly and they let us stay well past closing waiting for our Uber. Please support this wonderful gem of a restaurant.

We had reservations at 7:45 and checked in at that time. The hostess said it would be a few minutes. She started seating a few couples that came in after us and we thought WTH? I asked what's up and she said your reservations are at 8:00. I told her our reservation was at 7:45 and showed her my email confirmation. She said, "I have you down as 8:00." I would think she'd say I'm sorry let me see what I can do. I said I didn't care at that point and we were about to leave and she finally said that she'd find us a table. We only stayed because I was starving and they have great reviews. Someone else came up and apologized and said they were having a technical problem with their reservation system. Ok, that's all the hostess had to say.
Our waitress was very loud and was so long winded that I lost interest and started preparing a grocery list in my head. We finally ordered. Our food came pretty quickly but it wasn't ours. This was funny because there was a pile of cauliflower in front of my husband (He hates it) and the look on his face was priceless. Two people took it away and danced around and then set it in front of the people sitting next to us. Our food came and everything was prepared perfectly! We enjoyed every bit of it.
While we were finishing a different waitress asked the man next to us if they wanted dessert. His wife had gone to the restroom and he said it was up to her because he had diabetes and couldn't partake. The waitress very loudly said, "SMART DUDE, SMART DUDE, VERY SMART DUDE!" Awkward. Ummm...he was older, his life depends on it and that was weird.
I'm not writing this to be a Karen, I'm writing because the service felt icky and they need training. It wasn't just one thing. I'm rooting for them and wishing them well.
David Windmiller
I normally don't remember salads, but the tempura asparagus salad was phenomenal. I also really liked the bacon wrapped dates; they inspired me to make them at home and they turned out great. The pasta was home made and delicious and the layered crepe desert was to die for. All in all a great experience.
Sami Mir
Food is delicious, very nice ambiance, airy and not too loud
Josh Mandelberger
Food and drinks were excellent, service was a little on the slow side though they were pretty slammed when I was there. Their Osso Bucco was savory and delicious, I thought the little fork to dig out the marrow was a great touch.
Lynette
We just got a few things. The bacon wrapped dates, crispy wings and the lemon ricotta donuts. The dates were so amazing! Cooked perfectly with a perfect balance of flavors in my opinion. The wings were cooked so crispy and the flavor was amazing. The donuts were light with an excellent texture/flavor as well. The staff was very friendly. We called in a take out order right at 5 when they opened and it took 45 minutes to be ready, which seemed long.

My husband and I went tonight for our anniversary, and just ended up having to bring our toddler. We chose the venue because the pictures online looked delicious, and because I saw they had a kids menu.
Upon arriving, they were quick to accommodate our kiddo, bringing a high chair and even putting cartoons on the TV while he waited for his dinner! The children’s menu has options that a child would really eat- refreshing for such a nice restaurant. I got my toddler the grilled chicken and it was so good that I ended up helping him a little bit.
The food is a little pricey- but the portions are generous and so delicious- it’s worth every penny. No giant plates with only two bites on them like other places offer. My husband and I couldn’t believe how fast it came out considering that every little detail was cooked and displayed to perfection. We left full.
Kristianna was an amazing host and we will definitely be back! Thanks for being so family friendly! This is an anniversary I’ll never forget.
Barbara Crist-Nepp
Excellent food, staff, and atmosphere. We'll be back!
Leslee
Wonderful, staff were polite and always with what ever you needed. We had a large group and they took care of us exceptionally.
Many choices of entrees, all had different and everyone loved it all.
I recommend this restaurant highly!
Stephan G
We got the bacon wrapped dates, spicy crispy chicken thighs and the ricotta donuts. The dates are the best I've ever had!! I could eat then every day. The the chicken was certainly spicy and crispy, but very tender and great flavor. The donuts also were flavorful and not super deep fried oily, but the berry coulis and lemon cream were amazing! Top notch restaurant but you def pay for it. A new favorite in Portland.
Tara Madison
A new local favorite!
We came here for our 5th anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The online reservation process was very easy and we were greeted by the hostess with “Happy Anniversary”, which was very nice. The food is outstanding! We had the deviled eggs, dates, poached egg and bacon salad, Osso bucco, and NY strip, everything was so good! The service was excellent, our server was experienced and helpful. We like the ambiance, good for a romantic dinner.
We are already excited to visit again!

The only "problem" with this place is that there are too many good things to try! Everything is local, fresh, and delicious. Wait staff is friendly and helpful. Terrific restaurant.
Ellie Rose Maas
Great service and cute atmosphere, food was good but not amazing. I picked this place because they were highly rated and I read their menu online but their menu has somewhat changed (and I’m not sure how often it does that or if it’s just Covid).
I loved their lemonade (I believe it was lavender), and felt good about their steamed bun appetizer despite that I didn’t realize it had a lot of cilantro as it was easy to pick out.
Their appetizer of the day was this cooked eggplant on a flat pancake thing that I wanted to like more than I did. The eggplant was cooked a bit too much for me and was smushy and left me wishing I had ordered something else or they had paired the pancakes with something a little firmer.
That said, next time I’m nearby I will be going back and ordering completely different food!
Daniela Y
Had dinner at Q sitting next to a big open window. Perfect open air but not outside sitting. We had the stuffed bacon wrapped dates, Sheldon's cherry tomatoes salad, crunchy veggie pakoras and the grilled wild prawns. Everything was sooo good. Lots of flavors a nice presentations. The pakoras are big so a good sharing option for two. The Taylor street punch cocktail was great, not too sweet and good floors too.
Heidi Brown
Fantastic service, knowledge of menu, and delicious food from starters through main entrees, to dessert, and wine. The complete package.
Nora W.
The food was beautifully presented and created. All the flavors married in perfect harmony. I have no complaints as far as their food went, now their service left a lot to be desired.
As a 20 something sitting by myself I found that the service I received was different then that of the older patrons that sat around me. No pleasantries coming to my table, no “do you have any questions about the menu” or “any special occasion.” These were asked of and/or said to the tables that were sat around me. In observing this I felt a bit disheartened, especially since I came here for my 22nd birthday.
Most likely will not return as a solo patron, but this would be a wonderful place to take a date.
Erin Broderick
Came from out of town and reserved well in advance. I was asked to confirm my reservation by phone (they called me!), text and email. I confirmed all three ways- super annoying. Ambience is kind of lame and old with horrible lighting. The food was very well prepared and delicious but there's a charge for bread (tacky). The stuffed dates were incredible. Had the Ossobuco and duck crackling as well. I ordered an appetizer dish for my main (in addition to two other appetizers) and the waitress questioned my order - "oh that's very small". Extremely unprofessional to question a diner's order. I'm a small person with eyes on dessert. Anyway - as I said, the food is very good. Everything else to be desired.
Shannen Wise (Momma's Country Kitchen)
Great food and great service. The Osso Bucco was the best thing I have ever eaten in Portland.
Maxx G
Great tasting food. More of the conventional flavors but great execution, quality, presentation. Party of 7 people and everyone was satisfied with their choice. Excellent service too.
Roman Petkevicius
Q is outstanding in every way you would want in a restaurant. From time you are seated, the service and especially the food. We have been going to Q (and VQ) for our anniversary for 20 years. Chef Anne is amazing. The Osso Bucco is my favorite meal EVER. The mushroom salad is outstanding. If you have been to Q you know what I mean. If you haven't you will be doing yourself a HUGE favor to try.
Jeanette Petersen
Food delicious, friendly service, but wine flight a rip-off
Rachel Wayne
I can't say enough good things about this place. We originally came for the Monday prix fixe only to realize that an allergy could not be accommodated due to the food having already been prepared. The manager (or at least I think he was) went out of his way to convince us to come back to try the tasting menu another night. I'm so glad we took him up on the offer. We got to sit in front of the kitchen and watched them make all of the food. Our server, Bruce, was phenomenal in explaining the food and wine pairings. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. And of course, the food was fantastic. We genuinely felt like we were being treated like family and I overheard a conversation from a regular next to us who said the same thing. The manager also spent a good 15 mins with us at the end giving us food and beer recommendations for the city and seemed like a genuinely good guy and foodie. One of the best dining experiences of my life.
Scott Kendall
Had the steak with sweet potatoes and broccolini. It was amazing, so many flavors that worked together very well. Topped it off with the flourless chocolate souffle cake. It was so good, and I never thought pear with chocolate would work, but it did and was amazing.
Anna Y
It’s a little pricey. The duck was too greasy for me. The drinks are good. Overall a nice place.
Kevin Hanson
Fantastic atmosphere. Incredible food. The chef's counter is the best seat in the house. We had dinner and a show by having great conversation among ourselves and the kitchen staff, and watch how they meticulously plate every meal going out. With the interesting stories the waiter would tell us whenever he came by, the fantastic flavors of every dish, and welcoming atmosphere, I can see why this place is so highly rated.
Melody Kirk
Best restaurant in Portland. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Love watching the chefs through the huge plate glass. Love the big open window panes, letting lots of fresh air inside. Such an excellent meal.
TM Rosario
Beautifully done brunch. They were able to accommodate all 8 of us for brunch in a rush so we could make our train on time. Yes they have mimosas but be adventurous and try another one of their inspired brunch cocktails. I'm picky about my coffee and theirs is almost strong enough for me. The food was dangerously good. Beautiful bar and dining room with large windows to let the February sun in.
Michael Dolloff
Didn’t know what to expect but it was a great dinner. I had the apple and pear salad and the seafood tortellini and they were top notch. Fresh, plentiful and great flavors. Service was good - attentive but in the background. It is a bit loud, but not where you couldn’t hear across the table (we had a 6 top). Highly recommend it and will be back!
Dylan P
Grabbed lunch for my first visit. Their Fresca del dia was a perfect refreshment for a sunny day. I started with the bacon wrapped figs which were delicious even though they were slightly overcooked. I also enjoyed the spicy shrimp and grits, that had a healthy portion of shrimp. Service was perfect as well, not intrusive but still attentive. Will definitely come back for lunch service again and more than likely dinner service.
Rachel Parker
Homemade chicken pot pie and homemade apple cider. Yummo!
maryanne ferr
Beautiful presentation of delightful food. The best bacon wrapped dates. Tagliatelle with wild mushroom and Osso Bucco. Great dessert selections
John Caruso
Great experience. Popped in for lunch and wasn’t disappointed. Food was delicious and the staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and on top of their game. I had the seafood stew which was really good. I also ordered bread since the broth was so delicious and the bread was killer, definitely worth ordering. I will head back to try more of the menu out.
j spain Greene
Q Bar has a great late night menu. I was staying at the nearby AC, and Q was only a block away. I was able to get a nice pate plate ($16), tomato soup ($10), and duck spring rolls ($16) after 10pm. I finished with a seasonal berry crisp. Not cheap - but it was delicious.
Our server/bar tender was Excellent. She was thoughtful in her recommendations. The signature cocktails are well constructed. As an example of our server's thoughtfulness - I wanted a whiskey drink and she was willing to alter their Secret Garden ($14) with whiskey instead of gin. She knew it would sub well. The Dr. Feelgood ($12) was equally delicious.
I'll definitely return
Hannah Purdy
My mom and I were in town visiting for the weekend and stumbled upon this restaurant and we are so lucky we did! We went three nights in a row and had three different experiences at the bar, chefs counter and seated at a table. Everything we ate was delicious, the chefs, wait staff and hostesses were all so friendly and welcoming, we couldn’t help but keep going back! Highly recommend a stop into eat, and if you get the chance to sit at the chefs counter take it! Such a fun experience, you could really tell it was a team running this operation. Special shoutout to Danny in the kitchen for making our last two dinners extra fun!
victor cosovan
This is the most amazing place to dine at! The food was of the freshest and highest quality, the service was amazing and super friendly too. The food was a solid 10/10 for me. The owner was so nice to come and talk to us. I was sad when the old location disappeared, but thankfully they opened up at a new location. I will have this restaurant reserved as my happy place.
Anthony Messano
Excellent wait staff in a classy atmosphere. Food was incredible in both taste and presentation. A little mishap happened with one of my orders, but the staff and manager was extremely accommodating. This level of service was fantastic. I would highly recommend this place for a date night. Will definitely be coming back.
Tiara McKenzie
Great food! Great service. Even better price...$25 for the 3-course pre fixe lunch.
Gus Karageorge
After trying “to get into” several restaurants in Portland, I happily lucked out and snagged a table at Q Restaurant. The service is professional and friendly while the food is excellent and well-priced. We enjoyed our meal tremendously and can absolutely recommend it.
Mark Mantei
One of the best dining experiences I have had in Portland! Osso Bucco was amazing. My wife loved the Wahu. Service was excellent and efficient. We will be back!!! These guys and gals know what they are doing!!
Therese Afdahl
The meals were all delicious. Reading the ingredients you wouldn't think it would work but the appetizers, meals, and desserts were all fantastic. The waiter was very friendly and the overall service great.
Ori W
Duck confit and bruschetta was good but everything from service to their dosa was terrible. DON'T TRY THE DOSA. It was like a bulletproof vest. Impenetrable by fork or teeth and leathery.
Service was a complete miss. I don't mind if staff is slow overall. That's understandable. However, the tables around us instantly got service, drinks, and a rundown of the menu. Whereas we waited 20 mins just to get water and a quick "what do you want" with no explanation of the menu unless we asked about each item. Maybe it was our skin color? Maybe it was the lack of alcohol? but I never had service as bad as Q after Covid. Pity cause I loved their food beforehand and was looking forward to the dinner all week
Susan Gauch
The food was 5 star and the price was quite reasonable for the quality of the food. So, why not 5 stars? The sound level! The restaurant was very busy and the voices echoed around the room. It was so loud, it was headache inducing. They need to do something to baffle the sound so that you can actually talk to your dinner party. I cannot remember ever being in such a loud restaurant. But, the food was excellent and each dish was different and quite richly flavored. I'd recommend coming for dinner, but perhaps at 5:00 before it gets too busy.
Ann Wehnert
We have loved this restaurant for years. Excellent local food with gourmet applications to surprise your tastes. Annie, chef, provides delicious options which change with the season. It’s a go-to place for our family, friends & special occasions. Dinner is phenomenal but brunch is awesome. Excellent food & staff. We are so happy to have this wonderful restaurant in Portland.
Barbara Joslin
Just had excellent meal, brunch on Sunday. Had heard this restaurant was good and were not disappointed! Creative and appetizing choices, great ingredients very well prepared. All staff excellent and friendly. Great location and lovely interior. Portland is a very competitive market and this restaurant really stands out!
Nicholas Ball
Staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. The shrimps were cooked to perfection and the peanut sauce that came with it was sophisticated and one of the best I have ever eaten. The burger was of high quality too. Will definitely be back.
Melissa Higgins
The black lentil soup was delicious-spicy yet so tasty with the bacon. My husband’s burger was one of the best he’s ever had. The homemade toasted focaccia bread was a must try. Excellent service from beginning to end. Definitely recommend dining here!
Leonard Wilson
I took my wife and a couple of employees to Q Restaurant & Bar and we had a wonderful time. Our wait for the table was only a couple of minutes; however, our stay was close to an hour and a half. That being said, a good experience shouldn't be rushed--just be sure to give yourself the time to enjoy the atmosphere.
Everyone wants to know about the food and the service. Both of which are great. You'll probably notice after speaking with your server that much of the food is seasonal and in large part local. These original dishes are are said to be created by the head chef (and I believe owner if not mistaken). Our server, Craig (not Chase) - whom you should ask for, was great. He tried his best to personify a classy/novel restaurant despite my best efforts to throw him off with a joke or two. Touché "Chase!"
The ambiance is just the right touch of formal but comfortable. The music is good with a wide variety but not noticeable unless you attune your ear to it. Neither the music, the buzz of servers, nor the open kitchen beyond a section of the bar were distracting in the least from what was happening at our table. For that matter, everyone around us had smiles and conversations that attested to the universal enjoyment of this place. I cannot imagine this place as one to get old with repeated visits.
There is upscale pricing with their menu, but the quality of their ingredients and the skill by which they are prepared makes it worthwhile. I would rather pay twice as much for a better more enjoyable meal than half as much for something I did not like.
Doug Lee
This is a great place for either a casual night or special occasion, the space is very warm and inviting. There is a bar, and casual bar dining area, as well as a more formal dining area. All of the staff from the Receptionist on in were extremely professional and added to a great experience. The menu changes frequently with all dishes based on what's currently available for the most desired ingredients available to the chef. Our waitress was very pleasant and well versed on the menu and wine list, making some strong suggestions and advising on specific wines to pair with our meals. My group had a few appetizers and various main course dishes, all were impressed by the the quality and preparation. We also felt the prices were very reasonable for this level of food and service. Highly recommend making a reservation during peak dinner times, otherwise the bar may have an open seat or 2.
Christina B
Q is the restaurant I take out of town guests to when I want to show off the best of the city. The service is excellent. They make every occasion feel special, whether you’re going out with colleagues for drinks after work or celebrating a birthday or anniversary. The atmosphere, quality of food, and the service is the best.
Vishwa Motiwala
What a wonderful evening! Although a little crowded and loud, it was still a wonderful evening. Just from walking in the hostess was polite and cheerful. She offered us drinks while we waited. Our server, Blake, was just wonderful. He was attentive and polite. The food was great! A very similar menu (identical) to their old homestead, Veritable Quandry, they offered some seafood, steak and other options. High quality food and a high quality night. Thanks Blake!
Side note: at no fault what so ever of the restaurant, incredibly uncomfortable chairs. Need higher backs! Be prepared to hunch all night. But still highly recommend!! Food and service make it worth it.
Guillermo Santander
Went there w/ my wife and had one of the best dine in experience Ive had in a while. Ive lived here for a little over a year now and I highly recommend this place. The staff is very friendly and give absolute great customer experience.
Marina Bbyan
Easily one of my favorite restaurants!
Everything we ordered (and didn't, since we had the privilege to sit at the chef's counter) was superb! The Chocolate Souffle is a must to try. More than that, the staff is super friendly and professional - this includes the chef and her staff. Thank you, Q.
Aaron Johnson
This is my new favorite restaurant downtown. I was a big fan of the Veritable Quandary for many years (now closed), and I was excited to hear much of the crew started a new restaurant here... Brand new space, larger kitchen, and the food is still excellent. I recommend the pear salad, and grilled cheese sandwich options (see my pictures). Hard to go wrong with any of the entrees here, and cocktail menu is solid.
Kinn Moursund
Seriously, the best pork chop combo I have had. Everything. Chop, biscuits, honey, pecans.....simply perfect. I will fly back here for this dish alone.....
Lezah Higashi
Good drinks, food menu was too expensive for our liking as we were heading to dinner a little later. The only downfall was the bartender was super 'one-track minded' and we sat there for a while between drinks, as well as our friends who joined later. We finished a whole drink before the bartender came over to ask our friends for drink orders.
Lewis Hutton
Loved the VQ and history. While the Q is different, in a good way, the food quality, drinks and service is top notch. We have only been here for brunch so far, however it has been multiple times...because it is so good. Spectacular service and yummy fresh food. Great cocktails too! Order the chocolate soufflé if you come for dinner. It’s divine! The spring rolls have been the only thing I didn’t like.
Gloria Thomas
Had been referred here a couple times so we thought we would try it. Service was fantastic. Food was good but overpriced and not a lot of choices. We enjoyed the atmosphere but I probably won't go back. I wouldn't tell anyone to NOT go but would suggest looking at the online menu first. Great dinner, that we both enjoyed very much. The service was great, our waiter was very friendly and made good recommendations. Definitely need reservations, absolutely full on a Thursday night.
Todd Lowry
My wife and I went here based on a recommendation from the front desk at our hotel. We absolutely loved everything about Q's. The service was outstanding, the food was divine, they had a great menu with plenty of great choices. They also had an awesome drink menu with unique cocktails and a great wine selection. I would highly recommend this to any adults (not a kid restaurant) for a great choice out on the town.
TheOtherChef
The team at Q does a great job. Chef Annie and her cooks always take care of me especially since I mostly only sit at the chef's counter to watch the action. As a previous chef once upon a time, I love the attention to detail and most importantly the engagement with the cooks especially during a busy service. Their food is not only hypersourced but very tasty and keeps up with the seasons. The creatively level can range from Italian to French to even sometimes Louisiana Cajun... (Had an amazing chicken and sausage gumbo with grilled shrimp and rice sauteed in some butter...) I never have a bad meal here and will always try to come back and visit. Also they have a great brunch by the way...
Maureen Dahlseide
We discovered this restaurant on a Food Tour and were so impressed with the small bite we had on the tour, we had to come back for more. Brunch was absolutely divine and dinner was even better. The attention to detail and focus on ingredients is incredible, with so much respect for local flavour. This is our first time visiting Portland and we will definitely be coming back to eat a meal (or 2!) at Q.
Sloan Hamilton
I enjoyed everything about this place. The bar ambiance was classy and friendly. I enjoyed both cocktails off the specialty menu. The food was cooked perfectly. Server was attentive, knowledgeable. Lovely blend of upscale city dining and local farm to table vibes.
Tracy Crider
This place is even better in their new digs on Second Avenue. I knew them when they were the Veritable Quandary on First Avenue, top notch food and service there, yet has gotten better as Q. The food is great, the staff is seasoned and sets a bar for all Portland eating establishments. None of this "who had the soup" lazy server remarks from common restaurants. The food is great.
Carol Faris
Q Restaurant is amazing! We celebrated my birthday there this week and we’re still talking about it. The food was amazing, the staff friendly and attentive. We arrived early for our reservation so sat at the bar in the meantime and even the bartender commented that she saw we were there to celebrate a birthday. Nice touch. The entire evening was so much fun and memorable and I definitely want to go back. It just won’t be soon enough.
Casandra Cook
My boss and I were traveling through for business and wanted a nice meal so she looked online and found Q. When we arrived we asked if they had any steak on the menu and the polite Hostess said the menu was changing to the happy hour menu between shift changes but would go get the manger. The manager showed us what was on the menu but there wasn't anything we wanted so she looked up other restaurants in the area but all were closed at that time. She said she would go back and talk to her executive chef and when she came back she offered us an amazing meal with a ribeye skewer with vegetables. It was great! We were super impressed they would go this far for two strangers. Awesome food and people. Will return again!!
Leonid Baylor
Fantastic food. Incredible service. The Prix Fixe dinner is a steal. I believe the Prix Fixe dinner is normally available only on Monday; however, over Labor Day weekend it was available on Sunday. I love this restaurant.were in town visiting for the weekend and stumbled upon this restaurant and we are so lucky we did! We went three nights in a row and had three different experiences at the bar
Brent Ellis
Fantastic place! Top 5 best steak we've ever had. We sat at the bar and had an energetic, fun bartender who made a great paloma. Here's why I'm not giving it 5 stars. Sometimes when you sit at the bar and there's one bartender, they are so busy fulfilling server orders they forget about you, which is what happened. Took a long time to reorder drinks and get our bill. Make a reservation!
Ernie W
I didn’t expect to love the house made fettuccini as much as I did but jeez, it was phenomenal. Service, drink, food, and ambiance were all great. I will definitely come back when I’m in Portland again.
Ryan Gerrish
Nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, and simply amazing food! The 3 of us loved everything we ordered, especially the pumpkin risotto, steak, and lemon pudding cake. That damn pudding cake might be the best thing ever.
Wendy Kleinfeldt
I came here for lunch, and it is definitely on the high-end for a lunch meal. It's a good place for a business meeting where you don't mind splurging a little bit. I had the cioppino, and it was very delicious. Not too much that I felt super heavy after lunch, but enough to satisfy. I haven't tried the dinner, yet.
Update: I came here for Portland Dining Month 2020, and it was amazing! My husband picked the Hawaiian walu entree that wasn't on the prix fix menu, and he LOVED it. Service was also top notch. The chocolate souffle is really decadent!
Jennifer Schroeder
Sat at the chef's counter. Fun place with great food.
Laura Creed
Mediocre service and food. Expected better based on the reviews. The bathrooms had a strong sewer smell
Kristina F
Great atmosphere. I have ordered a grilled trout and thought it was too salty for me. But it might be just my opinion as I do not like salt in my food, particularly in seafood. I also did not enjoy the chocolate abacela port souffle as my dessert (if you to order one, it takes them to prepare it about 40 minutes), it had way too much chocolate! Menu selection is small. If I had to return to this place, probably just to have a cocktail or a glass of wine.
Doyle Drew
Service here was superb! Waiter was friendly, descriptive in sharing details, and provided a true Portlandia dining experience for us. We loved the Butter Lettuce salad we had read about, and the crab/lobster pot pie was delicious. We also indulged I a pistachio Oreo tirimusu. It was a packed place and we were glad we made a reservation ahead of time. Try out the Q , you won’t be disappointed.
Chris Garnica
From cocktail to appetizer to the incredible souffle, this was an incredible experience. I haven't done my homework but I believe the chef comes from the Veritable Quandary which that in itself should say enough. Their rack of lamb was wonderful and souffle breathtaking. I think the most memorable part of the evening was the charming service which was this super tall guy in glasses that enraptured us with his descriptions of entree and drink.
Jim Dwyer
Without doubt, one of the top tier lunch and dinner places in Portland. Service is impeccable- and friendly. I have loved every dish I've had. When I have friends from out of town, I love taking them here. Drinks, wine, food, atmosphere- Q has it all!
Jessica Norgard
Everyone was friendly and thankful for people supporting the business.
Julia D
took my partner here for her birthday and we both loved it ! we never treat ourselves to nice / luxury dining, and with two cocktails each and two entrees and appetizer this was PRICY but so worth it!! We loved the halibut with local morels and the bacon wrapped dates. Such a treat
Tim Sailer
Was busy, and we didn't have reservations, but sat at the bar. Great service, food was out of this world. I WILL be back!
Eric Woelker
This place is really good. They do get a little busy so I would suggest a recommendation. That said, the staff is great and the food is delicious. Personal recommendations would be the poached eggs salad, the bacon wrapped dates, and the souffle for dessert. Admittedly, all the salads are good and I don't think I've had a bad meal here yet. 👍
Sarah Perry
Best restaurant in town! Incredible flavor combinations made from fresh (often local) ingredients. And, Q is consistently excellent. Service is attentive and always friendly. Q is where I take all my guests from out of town. I've been dining at Q since they opened and back when they were VQ - I've never had a bad meal or bad service.
Ethan F
We had a great meal with friends here. Our friends shared a salad and small plates all of which they loved. My wife and I enjoyed our entrees very much! Their drink options were also plentiful. I suggest this very much!
Jordyn Peck
Everything was unbelievably delicious. We started with the prosciutto and melon - fabulous - then we had the steak and the fettucini with tuna for the main courses. I can't even explain how well each piece of the dish went together. Cannot wait for dessert!

Wow! Truly an outstanding dinner. Excellent drinks, wine menu, appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts. Three of us enjoyed the bacon wrapped dates and Puglisi bread for appetizers. The Osso Bucco was the best I've ever eaten -- braised in hard cider, tender, moist, flavorful, served with brussel sprouts, spaetzle, house made horseradish (which was unique, flavorful, and not overwhelming). One tablemate had walu in a black sesame crust, served with coconut sticky rice, which he raved about. Another had the steak and was quite pleased. Another crowed about the scallops (one of my favorite dishes), saying I just have to try it next time. The dessert menu was intriguing, with regular desserts and several "smaller treats". We all opted for the latter, enjoying cookies, a chocolate covered date, butterscotch pudding, and peanut brittle. We enjoyed coffee with our dessert, and it was exceptionally flavorful, strong but no bitterness or bite. Our server and his associates did an exceptional job of taking care of us, from the drinks, to the wine, to his explanation of various preparations. I can't say enough good thinks about this dinner. I know the restaurants in Portland extremely well, and I'd rate this dinner among the outstanding and memorable meals. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Classy, yet comfortable restaurant and bar setting. Fabulous dinner menu, appetizers and desserts will blow your mind. Fantastic happy hour wine/cocktail options as well. Reservation recommended, limited table space and bar seating - I’d expect the chef here is in high demand!
Christian Tanmajo
COVID-19 ERA. Great service and delicious food! The bolognese and seafood were all prepared perfectly! Very roomy between the inside seating. Cocktails were also very good. We had The Old jezebel and A for Ardvark.

I'm always amused to read some of the bad reviews posted for excellent restaurants like this one. While this place may be slightly on the loud side and the decor isn't necessarily something out of a contemporary design magazine, the food and service (the most important parts) beyond make up for it. My mom and I had the pleasure of sitting at the chef's counter where we were started off with a complimentary bite of something on the menu - always fun. The folks next to us got a different bite. We ordered an amazing appetizer and two entrees - the house made spaghetti as well as the seared sea scallops (both excellent) - followed by their signature chocolate soufflé. The ingredients were top notch and the staff was great (even those busting their asses in the kitchen). Definitely recommend this place!

Had a great brunch here. The chilaquiles may be the best I have ever had. We had a round of drinks and each one was good so I don't think you can go wrong there. The server was friendly but seemed a little green and made a mistake but it was quickly resolved so I won't ding them for that.
Chelsea Heath
Awesome cocktails and shockingly even more amazing food! Brunch was fantastic - the blackened catfish was excellent but the bacon and poached egg salad stole the show! Don't miss the espresso semi fredo - the berry compote that is served with it makes it crave-able!
Maria Comstock
Super service and amazing food. We had a reservation incident, but the hostess made it good, gave us options and we were able to leave our worries behind and enjoy a ridiculous meal. We had the duck pate, salmon and walu. Also, nearly an entire loaf of homemade bread. Every bite was delicious.

Q is now firmly entrenched as one of my anniversary traditions. After getting married two years ago and having lunch at Veritable Quandary that day, knowing many of the people at VQ would find a new home at Q had my wife and I very excited.
And after two anniversaries with Q, the excitement continues. We love the limited menu, and no matter what you order, it will be a fantastic experience. Service has consistently been a perfect blend of attentive, genuine, and hands-off. Despite being filled to the brim pretty much any time of day, you'll never feel like you're imposing.
Q shines most in its details. Since they print new menus almost daily, you may get a cute personalized mention on your menu. When our table was still taken when we arrived to our reservation, the hostess offered us some cocktails while we waited.
On our most recent visit, we sat together at the chef's counter. Watching the attention and care that went into every plate was a mesmerizing experience. I think what sets Q apart from other restaurants it is the high bar every plate clears before they leave the kitchen; dinner here is so much more than an inventive recipe. That said, while it was a lot of fun to be at the counter, I think the counter could use one less chair to give everyone a little bit more elbow room.
My wife and I may one day move away from Portland, but we hope we can still find an excuse to come back to Q. It's the restaurant we compare others to, and nothing else has managed to come close.

Absolutely one of the best dining experiences ever. We came on Saturday for my birthday, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was phenomenal!!! Out of the 8 of us, we all would recommend Q. Try the osso buco and the bacon wrapped dates. Yum!
john wilkes
Nice place for a late night drink with a great cheese platter. We went back for brunch the next morning. Also good - except for the lack of any espresso machine. A touch pricy. 4.5 stars. (Still no espresso machine, a year later!)
David Abeshouse
We were very pleased with every aspect of this restaurant, from the nice atmosphere to the thoughtful menu and gently-priced wine list to our excellent server who guided us expertly through the menu to the very well-executed small plates, entrees, and dessert (place your order for the chocolate souffle when you order your meal, as the souffle takes a while to prepare). If we lived in Portland, this would be a go-to regular place for us. If we visit again from NY, we will return to Q Restaurant & Bar.
Tim Swearingen
I had a great time, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu with a very classy atmosphere. We got in at the perfect time before the rush of the live band whom was quite amazing as well. Food was quick and fantastic, and the serving size was large. Would definitely recommend and I will be returning to enjoy again myself.
Jahan Khan
The food is always great, the osso bucco is one of my favorites. The staff is extremely friendly, we ended up joking and having a great time with a few of our staff the entire time. The place offers a great selection of non-alcoholic drinks, as well as a vast selection of wine. They have a Monday supper every week that is worth spending 80 for 2 people that includes 5 courses (including dessert). Definitely recommend.
Toby Neal
Wonderful food and service! Highly recommend!
Adam Roselli
What a great meal! We have been looking for a place like this in Portland for a while. We aren't crazy foodies but we appreciate approachable food done extremely well. This is the restaurant for that. Every bite was so yummy! Will definitely be back and recommend it to all of our friends.
Stephanie S
I've been to many Portland restaurants and Q has the most innovative, delicious, unique, flavorful food. Also, its always fresh and the portions are fair. Not teeny! The staff is friendly, the food is fantastic! I love this place! Try the trout and the chorizo squash Pepito pizza
Meaghan Naglis
This was one of the most delicious meals I've ever had. I ordered the bacon wrapped dates and NY strip steak. The flavors were umami and just so satisfying. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing.
Dhvani Chheda
Amazing food and service! They were able to cater to our vegetarian requirements with some really good customisations. I would definitely recommend this place :)
Sharon Malm
Last night we visited The Q for the 3rd time, 2nd Anniversary Dinner and 1 brunch. All have been superb. Fantastic service and mouth watering food. My wife and I had the special Rib Eye for 2 and it was something to behold. We have give gift certificates to our children for their Anniversaries and they have had the same great experience. We were sorry to see the VQ go but are delighted with it's replacement. Only complaint: Given that Oregon is a wine Mecca many of us have a home stock of quality wines we like to use for special occasions. $30 corking charge is a little extreme.
Connie & Kevin
Wonderful brunch! First time at new location and they are maintaining their excellent standard of deliciously prepared food and outstanding service! Our server was Rachelle and she did an amazing job of making us feel welcomed.
Thank you Rachelle! Looking forward to returning.
Ann T
Fabulous dinner, best Osso Buco we've ever had, goes best with the Cabernet. We also loved the Pate and the deviled eggs with trout, very tasty.
Jennifer Wilkins
Came from Chicago to visit family and friends. Had the amazing Q experience.
The decor is comfortable cool ...the food is beautifully plated and absolutely exquisite. Wait staff fun and friendly. 5 stars not adequate to describe.
Jed Adelman
Food was spectacular, drinks were delicious. I highly recommend the Bacon wrapped dates.
Ashley Johnson
Wow, what a great dinner. Definitely get the spring rolls and the bacon wrapped dates! Rachelle and Kritiana were attentive and knowledgeable about the wines and food on the menu. Overall, wonderful experience!

Excellent customer service, food, and ambience. Came here on a Wednesday night for dinner, and it was busy. There was a company gathering of about a dozen people next to us, which made it a little loud. And, when they left, another group of about 14 company workers replaced them, but they were not as loud, fortunately.
Street parking only, but parking was relatively easy to find.
Our server was Blake, and he was great.
We started out with a bottle of 2014 Murgo Brut Spumante, and it was good.
Then, we ordered the Bacon Wrapped Dates, which were amazing!! We probably could have just ordered a bunch of these and called it good for the night.
We also had the Pugliese Bread, which was good with either the olive oil or balsamic vinegar.
My girlfriend had the Ricotta-Filled Spinach Ravioli, and she said it was average. I had a couple of bites and agreed.
I had the New York Strip Steak, and we both agreed that it was fantastic. It was medium rare.
For dessert we had the Chocolate Souffle, and it was great! We paired it with the homemade Vanilla Ice Cream, which was outstanding! Please note that the Souffle requires 45 minutes to prepare, so you'll need to order it ahead.
The only reason I could not provide five stars is because it is so noisy in here, more than average for a place of this class. If you can handle that, then this is a non-issue.

Rebirth of the Veritable Quandry, I understand. Delicious bacon fig appetizer. Unique and memorable fried chicken and hominy. Asian inspired hanger steak and crispy rice was great too. Very nice dining experience overall.
Jens Vestergaard
Went for lunch. Had the chile relleno which was super crispy, but somehow lacking in flavor and the beef was a bit chewy. Not a bad dish, but could have been much better. 3 stars for that. Then we ordered the trout, but it was sold out and they had sturgeon instead. Never had sturgeon before, so why not. When in Portland. It was an amazing plate. Fresh veggies, crispy buttery rice and succulent pieces of white fish. I want to make this at home! 5 stars for a total of 4.
Victoria Harvis
Food was delicious ambiance was great.
Dan Reade
Went for dinner and found the experience all-around amazing. Food was fantastic, from the drinks (our server recommended the off-menu The Last Word) to salads to entrees: I got the Osso Bucco which was rich and hearty, while my spouse got the excellent duck confit egg rolls. Service was also amazing: a big thank you to Charmaine for steering us right throughout the evening. A great place to eat in downtown.
Dannie Carey
Amaazing food in a beautiful restaurant right in the happening area of downtown Portland. Plenty of big windows to take in the street activity but, secluded enough to enjoy your company or eat at a table on the street. The service was exceptional and the menu wide enough to satisfy our groups diverse tastes. This place was nice enough to take a first date but the price, while not cheap, seemed like a good value for the quality. Next time through Portland I'm looking for this place again! Look
Ken Banyan
My new favorite restaurant. Fantastic food. Incredible service. The Prix Fixe dinner is a steal. I believe the Prix Fixe dinner is normally available only on Monday; however, over Labor Day weekend it was available on Sunday. I love this restaurant.
Rita Callaway
Food: I was very impressed with the quality and presentation of the food here. Everything is plated very nicely and is very meticulously inspected for presentation and quality before it is served. In addition, they do a great job of creating fresh, not-too-heavy-nor-too-light flavors that are very complimentary to each other.
Nathan Johnson
We walked in on a whim and there was only one place to sit that wasn't reserved (so make sure you call ahead), but it was the best seat in the house (imo); the Chefs Counter. We were sat right at a bar looking into the kitchen, watching the chefs prep & plate the different dishes. Couple of them were super nice and offered us samples of what they were making.
The food was to die for, my wife got a seafood dish that was very flavorful, and I got a steak, perfectly cooked to requested doneness and the meat just melted in your mouth.
Price-wise, this is in the midrange of what I've seen, most of the entrees were around $40, so keep that in mind. From personal experience, definitely worth the price!
A wonderful atmosphere makes it a perfect place to take that special someone on a date.
Denise W
Service was friendly but slow. They were out of hamburger, of all things, and offered a chicken burger instead. It was ok but not great. My husband had a Ceaser salad and it was ok. The wine is very expensive. The cheapest glass was $14. Maybe happy hour would be better. I don't think I will return.
Bud Coe
Fun place in a great new location. Menu is both unique and wonderful. Destined to become a Portland classic. Not cheap, but the great menu is worth it. Kind of noisy at lunch. Will definitely be back ......next time I'm making a reservation.😄 …
Jordan Taylor
Q is top notch in atmosphere, service, food & life. Im constantly reccomending it as a must to my friends and clients while they are in portland.
Gary Newton
STELLAR service!!! Beautifully designed restaurant, but we could have been sitting on concrete blocks in the dirt and the manager and server (and food) would still make this the most special restaurant in the city! I've never experienced more sense of ownership and pride in product before. Congratulations to you all. Warm spinach salad is a MUST! You'll want to share it... But you won't :)
Gina Johnson
Definitely the best meal I had in Portland all week. The food was amazing. It’s a classy space with great service, too
Chen Family
Fun times! We dined at the chef’s counter and the chef even stopped by to say hello! The food was on point and it was great to see the balletic bedlam of a busy kitchen transforming quality produce into tasty dishes! Wine list was well done, too, though you might want to skip that Penner Ash Roseo if you like Bandol style roses.
Susu Migaki
Usually can never get a reservation because we never decide to go far enough in advance so it's a walk-in, and hope it's not too long of a wait. But with a little bit of luck and good timing we usually get a table right away! All of the staff is great and a little bit of more luck our waiter also worked at the VQ which helped in getting some of our old favorite food and drinks.
Always try to have something new and haven't been disappointed yet! Prices are fair which reflects on the quality and quantity.
Dane Smith
Absolutely wonderful, if you’re looking for a cool place to hang out And get a drink this is your spot if you’re looking to get a Michelin Star restaurant quality meal This is also your spot you can’t lose here!
Stephen Rokich
This was our best meal from Vancouver, Seattle & Portland.....hands down. Exemplary service with sublime quality & presentation of the food. Tip: sit at the bar table overlooking the chef's kitchen: you get great entertainment as well.
Jules Cooper
The service was slow. After not having one of the desserts on their menu, it took them half an hour to bring out the second choice, which they made upon ordering but didn't tell us that until we had waited for 25 minutes. The dessert was suppose to be an apple pear crisp but it was two pieces of canned pear with a huge plop of breading that was burned on top. All for $16. When we complained about the dessert, the hostess/waitress was not apologetic but defensive. She did take the cost of the dessert off our bill though. The meal was good. If you can't deliver a quick, delicious dessert, don't put it on your menu.
Philip Mascher
To the Q team, every one of you.
My name is Philip Mascher, I'm a long time Portland resident who moved out to The Dalles on the eastern end of the Columbia Gorge two years ago.
I don't come to Portland very often anymore, but when I do, Q is one of the places I look forward to returning to. It's always an absolutely amazing experience.
I was here for lunch today, and you guys turned this cold, grey and rainy day into sheer bliss for me. The passion, commitment and expertise you all live by is so palpable in each part of the experience.
I was welcomed warmly by the hostess, she didn't have a table for me, so recommended I take a seat at the chef's counter. Oh boy was she right with that tip!
When I was unsure what to pick for lunch, the warm-hearted server recommended the poached egg salad with a glass of Zin. I went with her recommendation, and as soon as I breathed in the wine she brought, I knew I had made the right choice. I was then treated by different members of your front line kitchen staff to spoonfuls of absolute bliss. There was a mushroom pasta that made me wonder if that should have been my order, a sweet potato mousse that I hoped could be made part of my salad, and some brussel sprouts that would turn even the most ingrained brussel sprout hater into a devotee.
Then my salad arrived. Oh my god, every bite was just pure heaven. The balance of flavors and textures was like a spa treatment for the palate, I found myself mopping my plate with bits of bread so as to not lose out on any of it.
In spite of the fact that I really didn't need any desert after all that Guy, the fabulous professional working right in front of me, didn't have too hard a time convincing me to stay for desert also. Back to my wonderful server who felt like a family friend by now, and said that I really needed to try the Tiramisu.
I ordered it and was treated to yet another specialty in waiting for it - a spoonful of the duck cracklings. I've spent much time in the Dordogne in France, goose and duck is especially close to my heart. Hmmmm, you don't get it any better in the Dordogne, the birth place of foie gras and many other French fowl delicacies.
Finally, the Tiramisu arrived with an espresso. And it's true, I've had many T's before, in Italy, France, Germany, Sweden and the US, and none have had the cloud-like lightness yet richness that this masterpiece was displaying.
I'm really floored yet again by my whole experience with what your amazing team accomplishes every day. My heartfelt thanks to all of you.
Warm regards, Philip Mascher

Incredible food with some unique flavors! The restaurant has a fairly high end atmosphere, and very friendly staff. As you order your dinner, tell your waiter/waitress that you'd like the suffle for dessert. You will.
Dave Doering
Visiting from ATL and was recommended by nearby hotel, Great menu, great atmosphere, great food!
Alicia Moreno
We enjoyed a fantastic dinner here during our weekend in Portland.
The portions and quality are really good and not overpriced. Good atmosphere and very friendly staff.
We had the rabbit pate, opah and osso buco...and, OMG, that chocolate soufflé was amazing! We walked out very full and happy!! :)
Casey Hopkins
Best brunch i've ever had, and thats saying a lot. Used to love Veritable Quandary and when I read the staff moved to Q after they closed, we wanted to try it. The quiche is insanely good. The french toast is amazing. The chilaquiles were by far the best Ive ever had. Potatoes on all the dishes were crunchy and fantastic. Even the orange juice was really good.
And the staff is super great too. Will be coming back soon.
Jen and Matt Burns
Wow! The food here is so good and the service was fantastic. We had our pup with us (who was being unusually difficult) and they still helped us with thoughtfulness and kindness. But also the food is amazing. Did I say that? Lol.
Chris King
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. Food quality is always amazing. They do a great job of keeping favorites on the menu (Osso Bucco) while rotating in seasonal dishes. Amazing cocktails. There are plenty of very good dining options in town, but this one should always be considered among the top. Confounded that lesser places get better reviews and better ratings. Don't wait in line for brunch somewhere else when you can have one of the better brunches in town with no wait!! C'mon sheep!!!
Fancy Pat Klimas
Disappointed with this place. Been here 3 times. First the good: The Food. Been here with a group and also as a couple, food is always very good.
Now the disappointing part: yesterday we were there with a group. We ordered veggie benedict to share, asked that it be split, happy to pay a split plate charge. Waitress said okay. We got it delivered to our table fully intact, not split, no explanation, asked her about it and she just said, “no, they didn’t split it.” Well we could see that. How about an offer to return it to the kitchen to do the task? Nope. So we had the very inelegant job of splitting the veggie benedict at our table. A mess. It was really good, but would have enhanced our enjoyment if they’d done what we asked.
A few months ago we were there for dinner sitting at the Chef’s Counter, waitress balked when I ordered a Cosmo. (I don’t know why, I thought maybe it’s just not cool to order that drink?) Also that waitress kept “forgetting” to bring us the bar menu. Just say “you can’t order from the bar menu if you’re sitting at the Chef’s Counter.” We would have understood, instead of just not bringing it after we asked twice. It just felt like a weird passive- aggressive thing with the Cosmo order and the bar menu request. Then the waitress (or cook) yesterday who wouldn’t split our order.
I don’t know what to think about this place except maybe they’re just full of themselves. We still left a 20% tip so as not to “punish” the waitress in case it was the chef who didn’t want to split the VH, but we were disappointed.
They have to know there are many choices for good food in Portland. So next time we come downtown for a great brunch it will be to Bijou—food is just as good, attitude fantastic. Next time I want a great Cosmo we’ll go to Pepe le Moka. Next time we want a great dinner—well, there are so many other choices.
Joe English
Truly beautiful food in an upscale dining room. Everything we ate was fresh, gorgeous and delicious. The staff were great. It was really a warm and inviting place to visit with delightful food.
Unknown User
All I can say is, "Yum!" Initially, I thought their menu options were really limited & only saw one thing I liked. However, after asking our waiter what he recommended (& kept asking about the other items listed), I ended up with the cavatelli with lamb & roasted autumn vegetables. The cavatelli (pasta) was made from scratch & the flavors in the dish just mixed together so well! VERY GOOD & I'm so glad I ordered it!! My husband ordered the opah (a type of fish) & also thoroughly enjoyed it. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was worth the risk of trying it out. Inside the kitchen, which you could look at from where we sat, it was run like the way Hell's Kitchen is portrayed (without all the cussing & drama). High end, without the exorbitant, high end prices. It wasn't cheap, but it wasn't as expensive as the food tasted either. Again, DELICIOUS! Definitely would recommend you try it out!
S Gagnier
I can't say enough good things about the food here. I'm dying to go back. The special they had for breakfast was a smoked brisket and veggie hash and WOW the flavors were incredible to the palate. If you're looking for a good brunch spot, Q is a must.
Jessica Smith
Went there for lunch and had pulled pork and tomato soup, as well as bacon wrapped dates. The service was top-notch. The ambiance is beautiful, much more new and modern than Veritable Quandary. Again, like VQ, the gluten-free choices are what you would expect. You can have things sans bun. The pulled pork was great, but getting quality gluten-free bread or buns from New Cascadia or something is not that hard and creates such a better experience for those of us with restrictions. Regardless, the food is great, I'm sure the cocktails are on par with VQ and the service-- amazing.
Duress Wintermute
exquisitely prepared dishes showcasing imagination and a refined appreciation for flavor layering make Q a great choice for any gourmand willing to pay. service is excellent, and the ambience is lavish and tasteful (if often crowded). expect to pay in the ballpark of $100 per seat for a full dinner.
James T
BY FAR the best meal and service that we've experienced in Portland! Friendly or welcoming isn't always something you find from the local top rated restaurants, so it was a very nice surprise to have such a great experience and meal served up by a non-pretentious staff in an equally impressive atmosphere. You can't go wrong with this place.
Johanna Bateman
Stumbled upon this amazing restaurant by accident while visiting Portland last summer. My friend and I had such a great experience sitting at the chefs counter Saturday evening that we came back Sunday morning for brunch! We loved the staff and we constantly talk about visiting Portland again mainly for Q!
Deborah Miller
Nice lunch location with tables spaced so that business conversation can be relaxed. Great service with a nice menu selection from appetizers to entrees. Food for 6 was served on timely basis in very nice atmosphere. Modern surroundings that are tastefully decorated.
Stephen Hudak
Went to this restaurant on a lark and sat at the kitchen/chef table area. We were blown away by the food but even more so, the service. The overall experience was top notch. This is one of the top establishments I've been to in terms of its foody-qualities. I'm not always in a mood for fine dining, but, damn.
Roopal Shah
The food and cocktails were amazing!! We had a great server. Definitely looking forward to going back again.
Igor Shkinder
I was a little skeptical to think the food was that good when my friends took me here, but my expectations were shattered. I honestly don't think I've ever tasted such great food that tasted so fresh. My expectations have been raised for other places I will eat at. Service was also great!
Rebekah Peacock
Seafood stew was amazing! Classic bar, ambiance style. An array of distinct house cocktails, plus seasonal non-alcoholic creations as well. La Dolce Vita and Kumquat May are winners!
Steve Glover
The food here is incredible. Eat here!
Soheil Shams
Went here based on all the good reviews and were not disappointed. As a vegan, there was not many options on the menu so the chef made something for me which was absolutely wonderful and did not screw us over with a crazy price either. Will certainly be back next time we are in town
Rishi Mishra
Food was decent, but not amazing. It's a warm atmosphere.
Edited to give more detail: Duck confit rolls was great quality and had good flavor, but the wasabi clashes with it. Ruins the taste and frankly overpowers the duck. The osso bucco was good as well, but the parmagiano rissoto gets completely covered in the sauce for the veal which takes away from the risotto. Would be better off having it to the side of the plate more.
Micah Harpel
Always a great experience here. While the duck rolls are gone, the bacon covered dates are not, and were as good as ever. Will definitely be back for some of those again. The catfish was good too!
Alice Austin
We had a business dinner at Q and the food was perfectly prepared. As a group we shared the Rabbit Pate, Grilled Cctopus and Duck Confit Spring Rolls. Everyone in our party loved the menu's and the service was attentive but not hovering. I will eat here again.
Trevor C
The food was delicious and all the components of said food compiled amazingily together, the mocktails are unique, and the soufflé was stunningly rich. The staff were polite, helpful, and friendly. The atmosphere, including in the bathrooms, was clean, moody, and pleasant. If you're willing to pay the reasonable bump-up in price for an exquisite experience, Q is the place to go.
Brett Allred (Mayor of Main Street)
This is my first time going to the Q for dinner. In the past we had gone to the veritable quandary and it was one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. I miss the old location but I think the new decision in the new location and the Beautiful decor and the Beautiful food well makes up for the loss of the previous location amazing service amazing food and I will be back..

That sounds great Mathew! So glad you enjoyed it so much. But are you sure you weren't eating Alien sausage? Cuz that was Clark county in Las Vegas. Did you enjoy the probe!!
Tobias Inman
I was recently lucky enough to visit the Q Restaurant & Bar on opening afternoon as part of a large group. The ambiance was lovely, and we were recognised by a number of the staff members who had moved over after Veritable Quandary closed earlier in the Autumn.
Despite a couple of forgotten drinks and missed side dishes, most likely a result of opening day jitters, the food was delightful, the prices reasonable, and the staff friendly. Definitely would recommend it to both locals and visitors alike.
SimpLee68
It's good, not great. The desserts outshine the apps and main dishes. No but wait, the food is good it just seems a bit ridiculous to pay $40 for a 6oz piece of halibut in top of some greens, $15 for a starter salad, $7-18 for appetizers and you will need two if you plan on sharing. Then tack on your $16 souflee and boom, one person $100 no drinks included.
We are foodies and eat out in places rating 5 stars down to food trucks and I would take our $160 for two, no drinks included, and spend the weekend in the many Portland eateries where the food is just as good and better for 1/10th of the price.
This is a one and done for us, like I said, good but not great.
Robert Parker
Very welcoming and friendly staff. Went in for a lighter dinner and a beer. Seafood stew was delicious. Beer selection somewhat limited but good local IPA complimented to stew. Overall great spot.
Sean Dobson
Food selection is perfect. Great light medium and heavy selections. I personally and the duck confit spring rolls and osso bucco. Fanamunal flavor for both. Definitely ask for some bread to spread the marrow from the bucco on. Wine selection was nice, and comparably priced to similar restaurants. The staff was friendly and eager to talk about the menu. Definitely, a must go to in portland. Kind of the Little Bird of Italian in PDX.
Heather Green
The food is really good though a couple things were a bit oily, but the service wasn’t great. Also the length of time it took to get our food was ridiculous. An hour and 20 minutes to get two small plates and two entrées- One of the small plates was just three stuffed dates. By the time we got our food we were so tired we didn’t even feel like eating anymore. We watched many diners that were seated long after we were order food and get their dinner before us. Many people at the table thought maybe our server forgot to put our order in. Our server was completely non-apologetic and didn’t even acknowledge the fact that we waited so long or that we were a bit aggravated by it. It would’ve been nice if he could’ve at least said I’m sorry for the wait it’ll be coming shortly but he didn’t even check in with us. Nothing over an hour and 20 minutes.
Tim Buller
What a great new restaurant. The look is very inviting. Try to sit at the chef's table if you can. It is a lot of fun to see the effort put forth in the kitchen. The brunch at Q is one of the best in Portland!
Theresa Pugh
Great cocktails and the beef short rib was fall apart tender! I went early and there were plenty of bar seats at 5:15. Full food service at bar. Bacon wrapped dates are delicious too!!
Carrie Towey
Savory flavors, great osso buco.
Bryan Simmons
Prompt and friendly service coupled with excellent food.
Linc Williams
Incredible place - clean delicious food - brunch salmon was the best I have ever had!!! Well plated - flavor combinations are perfect. The service was top notch and friendly.
Ken Wood
Relaxing and comfortable fine dining with a chef and staff who invite you to stay for the full evening. Arrive early and plan on staying late - a wonderful experience.
Brigette Crement
Most recent visit: The food is still everything we hope for! Our server was knowledgeable about everything on the menu. The Hanger Steak with Miso was incredible! (Image included!) Caesar Salad was really good. Image of Osso Bucco wouldn't even begin to do it justice so I left it out.
Last Years Review: Amazing! The Osso Buco was so tender and flavorful, the duck with a hint of sage equally tender yet still with some bite, but the roasted brussel sprouts and baked onion topped it all off, so earthy and so good!
Thank you, Q!

It was simply incredible. I had the flat iron steak with Mexican street corn and smashed fingerling potatoes. This is the dish I want right before I die. The flavors were so balanced with the perfect amount of heat, acidity and flavor. My boyfriend had the osso bucco, which is a fancy name for veal on parmesan risotto. The veal was so tender and not gamey at all. The sauce made a perfect compliment to the cheese of the risotto. We finished it off with the chocolate soufflé. It took a little while, but once we got it there were no regrets. It was light, fluffy and packed with chocolate flavor.

I sat at the bar and had a glass of the Big Table Farm Pinot along with the fried chickpea batter cauliflower and grilled octopus. The octopus dish was so flavorful with chopped olives, herbs and spices. I closed it with the pumpkin pecan ice cream.

Went here for brunch with friends. We got there at 9:30 and there was no line, we made a reservation but didn't need it. The food was fancy and the atmosphere a bit stuffy. It was weird bc one of my friends ordered the eggs Benedict with potatoes instead of bread --this substitution was fine. Then my other friend ordered the meal that came with French toast but she asked if it would be ok to get pancakes instead, they offer both as sides and they're the same price individualy. The waiter said it would be an up charge "maybe a dollar or two". My friend said that was ok. But, when the bill came, she was charged for the regular meal plus a full price side of pancakes (even though she didn't get both french toast and pancakes). When we asked, the waiter said "we don't do substitutions on the menu". But that's not what he had told us when we placed the order. After he explained the new rules, he said he wouldn't charge her for the pancakes. Which was nice but the whole thing was strange and made the experience awkward. Maybe it's just a training issue, but I probably won't go back here for brunch.

The food was delicious and the service was great! I recommend you try this place I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing the food was!
Elaina Pogrebinsky
This place is epic! Love the vibe and the food. Highly recommend it!

We had an incredible meal last night at Q. Had planned to take my husband to Veritable Quandary for a special birthday dinner only to discover they had closed a couple of years back. As we travel to Portland every couple of years, I was saddened that this venerable and exceptional spot was gone. First Wildwood, now VQ. With a little effort we discovered that Chef Annie and many staff had reopened on SW Taylor.
Jeffrey Yen
Downtown location with the prestige of the west side. If you aren't seated window adjacent it is a little on the dark side. The menu lacks creativity and the good is solid but not exceptional in any way. It isn't a bad choice but there are definitely better places within a few blocks.
Kevin ONeill
Dined at Q twice in three days during most recent visit to Portland for Labor Day weekend. The team from VQ restaurant in Portland which closed last year are now at Q. The facility, the food and everything about Q is even better than VQ which we thought was terrific!
We had dinner one night and was so fantastic that we went back for brunch 2 mornings later. At brunch had the steak skewers with pesto which we awesome especially with the tomatoes which were perhaps the best I have ever tasted.
This is now perhaps our favorite restaurant in Portland and that is saying something as virtually every place we eat in Portland is either Very Good or Excellent.
kay flores
This place is too die for! Best food I’ve ever had like cooked to perfection I got the ravioli and it melted in my mouth , the service was just impeccable and the champagne was perfect. Wonderful experience definitely coming back ❤️ -Kay

My favorite restaurant, the VQ, transformed into a new version. Same amazing food, and most of the same fabulous staff stayed on as well!
The bacon-wrapped dates are as scrumptious as ever, and if you try the fallen chocolate soufflé (which you should), eat it with the salted butter they serve with the bread. It's next-level delicious.
I'm still a bit nostalgic for the feel of the VQ - especially the wine cellar dining table - but I'm just so grateful that the best restaurant in town lives on!
Cory Cilia
I've done here multiple times and never been disappointed. Small, but very good rotating menu and great drinks. Also save room for the excellent chocolate souffle!
Ken Montero
The food was solid, the bacon wrapped dates are amazing, but a little on the burned side. The flat iron steak was too salty, and the prices were a bit high. I really wanted to like it more!
David Chinn
Awesome, a treat for my palet that I look forward to when I visit Portland.
Patty DeVarti
The food was amazing and a great atmosphere for a leisurely dinner. It was fairly busy so our server was not quite as attentive as we would have liked, but we definitely go back again.
James Huot-Dunlap
Had Brunch here. Cozy exceptional restaurant.
ryan easttum
Overrated and was better when it was Veritable Quandary. This place is the epitome of 'business lunch' - e.g. the company or client is paying. The food is above average to good, the service, while a bit over done, is a nice treat in apathetic Portland, but you'd get a 10x better meal at any number of downtown restaurants or better yet, at a food cart or food hall, and literally pay half the price. In fact, for your next business lunch, take your colleagues or clients to a food hall. Trust me.
Bradley Crehan
The food was great, the atmosphere was nice and not too loud, and the wait time wasn't too bad for the amount of people there. It's definitely better for a 20s and 30s age range due to the club music feel, but the price to quantity and quality seems like it is tough to beat
Todd Graham
Pure ambrosia heightened with nectar after a busy week! Impeccable cuisine and even more Impeccable service! 😁🍺🍛🍲 Thank you! …
Darren Palmer
Business dinner. Service and food was outstanding.
TJ Holland
Very nice upscale restaurant. The food is excellent. I would suggest getting the chef's table. The kitchen crew supplies samples to diners throughout their meal that's not on the menu.
Yoon Jung Chae
5 stars are not enough for this resturent. Every dish including garnish are incredibly good. Staffs service was just good. I will definitely come to Portland to come here to try different Gourmet!! ☆☆☆☆☆☆
Jeff Foster
We greatly enjoyed the spinach-and-mushroom small plate, the pork pappardelle, and the walu in nori. Elegant but welcoming atmosphere. The cocktails seem very complicated, though, with lots of ingredients.
Chris Cannard
Q of course is the renewed iteration of the Veritable Quandry from years gone by. It always had great food and was the ultimate after work hangout in downtown off of Hawthorne to wait out traffic and have one and be seen. Seems I always saw someone there I knew. This new place amazingly still employs a lot of the same people from those days. The food is the star now, I had the osso bucco lamb, and it was incredible. Check it out. $$+

This restaurant is small but inviting. I ordered the trout with cous cous. Now I am not a cous cous person but this was excellent with the spices and chard. The trout was cooked as it should be. Staff at this place were very pleasant and helped to pair the meal with a nice white. I recommend.
Max Joyce
Food was good, servers and cooks were so friendly, I wanted to hop over the counter and just hang out with them.
Meredith Hansbury
Great brunch spot- highly recommend the lemon ricotta pancakes! Service was great. I especially loved the peanut butter chocolate that comes with your coffee order.
Nellie Delapena
Amazing food , great ambience . Excellent service. I will recommend this very nice place to my friends.

When the VQ closed, we all wondered whether its new incarnation, Q Restaurant and Bar, would be anywhere as good. Well, I'd say it is even better. They have impeccable service, creative dishes that change daily except for a core of favorites like Osso Buco, beautiful presentation to all dishes, a great wine list, and a warm vibe. You can't go wrong dining here..
Narges Shahidi
The food was really delicious, and the vibe is nice. Staffs are very nice, but we had them on our table so often, which was a bit annoying.
Ryan Cook
While in town this week - had the pleasure of dinner at Q. The staff was great offering recommendations and the food was really good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone for any occasion and I will definitely be back next time I am in Portland.
Lynn Conti
We eat out often, but this was one experience that will go down in the books. From the lightly sweet and perfectly tart BFD cocktail to the sizzling yet creamy bacon wrapped dates, to the melt in your mouth seafood in the stew, all of the starters were cooked to perfection.
The prawns in mole were absolutely out of this world. Then came the entree... the Hawaiian Walu with black sesame crust. I can't think of a recent seafood meal that was cooked better...absolutely flawless. In fact, it may have been the best ever. Even the crusted coconut rice was outstanding. Service was impeccable and we were very impressed with everyone we interacted with. Husband got the seafood fettucini which was probably great also, but after all the appetizers, and especially after the legendary Walu, anything else would pale. Don't miss this!!
Anthony Baartman
Great service and amazing food!
Cynthia
The most delightful, all around dining experience I've had in many years. Lovely, inviting room, impeccable service, delicious food from an inspired, creative menu. Bravo!
Stewart Ramsay
Good food good service. Menu has very interesting and enjoyable dishes. A little loud. Convenient downtown location. Good place for business or personal dinners
Hajro K
I was here for lunch and I am not a big fan of catfish, but I had it here and it was just an explosion of tastes in my mouth. It was so delicious. Very impressed with the chef.
Randall Phillips
The osso bucco was outstanding, and a killer tap list. Everything we had was perfectly prepared and full of flavor.
TJ Houck
The lamb shank was great. The plating was a little poor since all the meat was already off the bone. Overall the flavor and portion size was good though.
Texas Farmer
I've travelled to many many places in the world and love trying the food everywhere I go. This has been my favorite by far. The people are awesome as well. I just wish I lived in Portland and could be a regular.
Walter Trach
Nice restaurant in downtown Portland near Pioneer Square. The menu was changing towards falls flavors and full a hearty dishes. Had the Osso Bucco which was very large and fell off the bone. Beers are mostly local and of a wide variety.
Laurie Neapole
Six of us had a fabulous dinner at Q. Beautifully presented, tasty food and excellent service. Great room, too. One of our best meals ever!
Jenny Groody
Great experience! Our server knew her wine. Everything we had was very good. Osso Bucco was excellent as was the chocolate souffle.
Keren Olvera
Has a lot of Mexican names in the menu and for me being Latina was awesome. Delicious food with good names I felt at home. And also there where so kind and polite.
David Richardson
Went for a happy hour with friends. Great food and dessert. The chocolate souffle takes 40 minutes to make so order it right away if you want it.
Ann Stumpf
Went there with five friends. The food was good and innovative, but the restaurant was so noisy we couldn't really talk. The only person I could hear was the one directly across from me. Can they tone down the noise? I had the same problem at VQ. Why?
Brenda Petersen
Absolutely amazing from staff to food. We sat at the Chef's counter and the experience was outstanding. One of our best dinners ever.
Javier Carmona
Amazing place, normally crowded, food is always a delicious surprise and dessert is always the best and drinks are tasty and well served. We are regulars here and will keep coming back for more of all thus goodness wrapped in friendly and knowledgeable people who make you feel unique.
dana skelly
Always a treat. The food never disappoints and the service is excellent. Have been here for brunch, lunch and dinner. The menus are updated regularly. The Osso bucco is a standard that stands out.
Tiera Liby
Excellent servers. Playful and fun. Creative cocktails. Great flavors. Melt in your mouth food. Nice atmosphere. Well worth your time and money!
brian haden
Spectacular! I have eaten at many 4&5 star restaurants around the world and this tanks amongst the best. The food was terrific. Sat at the Chefs bar and service was awesome.
Ray Lister
The food was great, the server was knowledgeable and helpful, and the atmosphere was pure Portland. I'd really like to come back to try the chef's tasting menu.
Michael Layton
One of the best restaurants in Portland. Constantly rotating menu and fresh food and amazing drinks. Check it out now.
ric walford
We have always enjoyed our visits to Q especially when we have been able to enjoy the chef's table. We wish all the best and look forward to visiting post COVID.
Bruce Porter
This is a must on any list of PDX restaurants. Portland's reinvented iconic mainstay Q! The food is excellent in the capable hands of Chef Annie Cuggino and team and the service is exceptional with gracious management and staff taking care of your every need.. This is Portland dining at its best.
Tijmen de Haan
Delicious fine dining. Generous portions of season-appropriate foods. The duck spring rolls were my favorite.
scott price
Sat at the cooks counter with Annie twice now. Everyone is always such a good host, and Annie always treats you to a little something special (surprise) when you sit with her. I have been one other time for lunch (duck comfit) and it is just as good as the old place, and a few of the same faces.
Eno Mor
Try to make it in Monday, there is an inexpensive meal group that is an incredible deal. I ordered the eggrolls as well. Although the portions on the full meal were small I was quite full
Justin Bednar
From start to finish, this place was amazing. A different feel than the VQ but still top notch flavors, wine and service. Every dish was spectacular.
Will be back soon!
Maureen MacNabb
excellent service and delicious food and atmosphere-it was my first visit-I am planning a lunch again soon and will update my rating if it is consistent as my first experience.
David Lewis
Excellent food, fine dining experience. Highly recommend the wild mushroom risotto.
MaryBeth Cruz
OMG the Osso Bucco was incredible. And the bacon wrapped dates are dreamy! Love the ambiance and service outstanding. We sat at the bar and the bartender was phenomenal!
Joshua Proehl
Came for the blackened catfish, will return for the hot chocolate! (seriously, it's worth it!)
Never had anything here that wasn't tasty, and the people are always incredibly friendly and helpful.
Martin K.
Amazing food and more than excellent service! :-) The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed being there! Thanks so much!
Dillan Archer
Amazing place.. Truly. Made my Portland experience really great. I can't say one thing negative about the food or cocktails.
David Wagner
The food and service were terrific. The duck spring rolls were delicious, but less amazing than the duck entree. The steak was fantastic as well.
Simoan Hunter
These dates melt in your mouth. Also, service is amazing.
Dustin D'Addato
The service was amazing. The staff was super knowledgeable. The drinks were strong. Solid overall.
Anne Sinopoli
An interesting menu with delicious small plates. We sat at the chef's table so that made it extra interesting for us. Definitely get a reservation.
Piyush
Beautiful ambiance, great food and excellent service. Disappointed with the cocktails. Their take on old fashioned was way too sweet and watered down - a total waste of money.
Linda Lueck
Went here for brunch. Had the Chile relleno and blackened catfish for brunch. Both were delicious. Presentation was as amazing as the quality.
Anne Nguyen
The food was good. The service was pretentious. If you want a fancy breakfast and passive aggressive attitude, then this is the place for you! Welcome to Portland.
Erin Kowal
Service was great! Appetizers had larger portions than I expected. Osso bucco was delicious! Host team is well-trained.
Faye Militante
Great brunch! Food is excellent, presented very nicely, and surprisingly portion size wasn’t too small or huge. Service very nice too.
Devin House
The food and service are what you would expect from a high end restaurant. I went with local friends, who were pleased to see the re-opening of this restaurant from the remnants of a previous favorite. Everyone's meals were spot on. I had the special, a beef filet.
CJ P
Great place for business lunches & dinners downtown. Although the old VQ location was infinitely better because of the ambiance & outdoor garden setting seating.
KT Christensen
Good food, but way overpriced. I made a reservation weeks ago and they put us at the worst table in the restaurant—right next to a drunken group and the kitchen / bar.
Tiana Maher
Creative and inventive menu. Delicious entrees. Just love the vibe of this place that helped appease the disappointment of losing The Veritable Quandry. Highly recommend the chef's counter!
Mike Matrone
VQ lite? VQ part deux? Just a quandary? Regardless, excellent food and service as you would expect. Menu includes hold overs from VQ, but new dishes, too. The back portion of the restaurant is bright and modern, whereas the front near the bar is darker and full of warm woods. I recommend sitting up front near the bar, as the back can get quite loud.
Jason Alves
Excellent food I ate at the bar. Deft execution. Good beer selection. The red wine list was a bit too domestic for my liking.
Guy Saurbaugh
Excellent food. Excellent service. Wished I could have had dessert but I was stuffed. Next time I'm in Portland on business I will be back!!!
Lara Joukhadar
Best Tagliatelle ever and the service is great
Garry Egan
Always superior service and food. Never once had a bad or subpar experience in the decade of going to VQ and now Q.
Exemplary restaurant who's name will be held in all places of honor.
Goretti Gabilondo Barton
One of my favorite dinner places (and beautiful brunch too with no line) in Portland! Great cocktails and service. Do not miss the Oso Bucco
Debra Nine
Wonderful food & exceptional service. Weekend brunch is great. We're fans of the old VQ, but are going to hang with the Q!
Carson Bauder
Good is amazing. Pozole was very flavorful. And you absolutely cannot go wrong with the short ribs. Yummy!😋 …
Ruth Anne McCullough
Fantastic! The bacon wrapped dates were to die for and chicken focaccia sandwich was delicious! Highly recommend the Q.
Josh Kennedy
Great atmosphere, sat at the chef's counter and couldn't be happier with the experience. Not cheap but worth the price. Food was excellent.
Crystal Gupta
Excellent service and an exacting chef! The atmosphere is wonderful and the prices are reasonable for the caliber of food. I highly recommend the Oso bucco and their brunch.
FabKae
Outstanding food and service. Great back story. Its a fancy dinner, we had reservations for a party of 4. Its pretty loud, I didn't mind that though.
Kenneth Strawn
Had an awesome dinner and wonderful drinks with great friends and family!
Jeffrey Howard
Outstanding meal. Brussel Sprouts in miso were fantastic. Loved the lamb dish and osso bucco. And the souffle... light as a cloud.
Shane Kelleher
Absolutely fantastic food and beautiful presentation for every dish! The service was also a 10/10!
Chul Kim
As a brunch place, the coffee was pretty good. They served stump town coffee, and the taste of stump town was there.
I will visit again for a brunch.
Katy Conrad
We had a reservation here for 8p and the restaurant was not able to seat us until 845p, but they were extremely apologetic and gave us afew free appetizers to start, which were delicious. all the food was fantastic!
kater barrett
Great service, Rachelle or Raquel? Order the baguette it's warm soft inside crunchy outside. Tomato soup was soothing.
Brandon Breazeale
That's one of those nice fancy atmospheres! $16 for egg rolls tho pretty spicy. But if I had the money to spend it it's a great place
Brian Manthenga
Good food , great service!
Susan Stella
Wonderful service by Rachelle and incredibly delicious food. We were there for Portland Dining Month. It was our first visit but won't be our last.
REINALDO MARTINEZ
The restaurant was very cold. Would recommend to others for delicious food & great service.
Whitney Fikes
Food was amazing, staff was great. Ordered a drink that I didn't like, and they were great allot it! Will definitely come back again.
maryana kots
Very friendly staff & food is amazing! 😋 …
Kelly Courtney
Wow... amazing food and great service. We will be back next year on our vacation! Get reservations if you go as they do get really busy
Dave Austin
Interior design of restaurant is fantastic. Food is excellent although the night I went there were zero vegetarian dishes available! Pricing is wicked expensive.
Nathan Collins
The original VQ was my favorite Portland restaurant. I was said to see VQ go, but really excited when I learned about Q last week. Finally had a chance to try it out tonight: they did not disappoint!
mike gallagher
My favorite restaurant. The management is top notch. The food is always good. Miss the outdoor patio at V Q. Damn city hall.
Joseph Tamburelli
Good food, good service, a bit pricey especially after walking through business area of Portland where you can find homeless people's on the street doing there thing. It is a shame for the local businesses, I'm sure like many others I would not go back.
sabedin etemi
Amazing like always. Great food and professional service definitely. We go on the weekends always too . Thanks
Michael Wilson
Not as good as I hoped. It was a little surprising to sit for quite awhile without any service interaction. Food was adequate, if pricey.
Jena Peoples
Hands down my favorite place in town. The service, the food, the atmosphere. It's perfect.
Ho Siva
The food is good and the service is impressive! We only had brunch here but will probably come back for dinner.
Lola Bichler
Always friendly service, good atmosphere, great food. It is loud during the lunch hour, best to go a little later if you are with a group.
Aren Edlund
We brought our 8 month old with us when we ate brunch and couldn't have been happier with the service. The staff here is awesome and were so accommodating.
Emily Welch
So delicious! Great seasonal menu and service!
Brian Vo
Very stylish location, good eggs Benedict, very good service
Maryann Shango
High quality and great tasting food with excellent service! Ate here twice on the weekend visiting with (amazingly) no line.
Jessica Deming
Solid brunch every time. Nice staff and great food. Always happy with my experience.
Walter Feigenson
Great food, great ambience. Limited menu, but everything is first class.
