Reviews of Luke's Lobster Portland Pier

Such a bright, cheerful place to eat. The New England clam chowder was the best I've EVER had!!! My first lobster roll tasted good. I got the small one. I don't usually like the lobster claw meat, but it was good. The bread it was on was so yummy. You can't go wrong with a nice cold Allagash white!!! The fried haddock was cooked perfectly. Light and not greasy. Our server Ali was so friendly and accommodating. The food came out quickly too. I would definitely recommend eating here.

This place sits right on the water and is surrounded by lobster traps, giving it the total Maine vibe. We were seated immediately and ordered the mussels appetizer, the lobster BLT, and the trio, which includes a half lobster roll, half crab roll, and half shrimp roll. It came with homemade chips that were delicious and the BLT came with fries that were also crispy and seasoned right. Service was a bit slow, And they brought the two entrees out along with the appetizer, but we were happy to take in the view and relax a little.

We liked this place so much we came back again the next day! Just overall such a great experience. The atmosphere there is great, everyone we met was nice and inviting and of course the food (and drinks) were delicious! The entire staff went out of their way to make our experience wonderful. They added wood to the fire pits (in February!) when they saw us outside, the made us a custom cocktail when we asked if they had something, and they were just overall friendly and accomodating. And the views! Best you can get, paired with everything else, in the port area. Cannot recommend this place enough!!

Best lobster bisque and lobster roll in Portland, Maine!! Be sure to ask for the bisque bowl! The view of the coast is amazing from the restaurant. Have a balcony and terrace in all 3 levels. Great selection of local beers and spirits...HIGHLY recommended!
Veronica Botts
The girl at our hotel suggested eating here and a fabulous suggestion it was. Of course we both had the lobster roll but be prepared for the prices the 4 oz is $30 and the 6 oz is $37, which is the norm in Maine. That being said they were really delicious. A nice selection of beer too and on a beautiful day I'm sure the views of the harbor are gorgeous, it was just a bit foggy when we visited. Server was okay but did not seem to be interested in providing excellent service though we did get our food and our drinks. She was a lot more attentive to the younger people sitting next to us so maybe she just doesn't like 60 and over people. When all is said and done we had seafood all over Maine and this was by far the best food!

Loved the staff. My girl with the glasses (didn't catch her name) was great. As well as the other working gal. The boss even brought a hoodie from the back since my size shirt was sold out . Food was fresh. View was amazing. Well worth the stop on my northern road trip!
Sam Faller
Great food, local and delicious. I had the kale burger, which was an awesome veggie alternative that I've never had before. Very impressed with the gluten free options. My whole family liked their food with no exceptions.
The environment is nice because it's not too loud, and there's no TVs (in the downstairs at least), and there's a nice view of the water.
Ahmed Siddiqui
So worth it. Location sucks because of parking but otherwise it's superb.
The food was expensive but it's lobster. I got the white truffle butter lobster 4oz which was honestly enough for me. It was worth the visit for the scenic view upstairs and the classiness.
Would visit again if I ever got the chance. The waitress was very good with her recommendations so props for staff knowing their stuff.

literally the best lobster roll ive ever had. definitely worth the 2 hour drive for some good lobster roll. the clam chowder was great as well, a little too salty for my liking but my bf enjoyed it. we got takeout, will definitely dine in next time.

Decided to do a Portland weekend and Luke's was #1 on the list of places to try. Went for dinner and ordered the fried haddock bites appetizer (delicious! ) and the roll trio which includes lobster, crab, and shrimp roll. Everything was so delicious! We went to Eventide (highly recommend) for lunch and the lobster roll there was so amazing we were told any roll we had from there on out would be disappointing. This was not the case at Luke's! Luke's was amazing and lived up to my expectations when it came to rolls. Side note: hot cider is great 👍
Megan Ries
This was our first stop on the day we arrived in Maine and it didn’t disappoint. Both the lobster BLT and the fried haddock sandwich were delicious. I also had their blueberry lemonade which was quite refreshing and not too sweet. We sat upstairs which had an incredible view. Our waitress was friendly and the service was quick
Rita & Ricky Bazail
Seriously so deliciously fresh and light. Not the usual soaked in sauces roll that you barely taste the lobster or crab. Perfectly seasoned to taste. If I could have this meal fed-x to me I would. The blueberry mojito was off the charts tastie. I highly recommend Ashley! Friendly and so helpful for the tourist I am that she wrote a list of places to see in the area. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could.
Jim Anderschat
Came here on a cold evening for a hot dinner and it did not disappoint. After a nice round of drinks, we started with apps. The clam chowder was average, but her Lobster Bisque was great.
Both our entrees, the Fried Haddock and Broiled Scallops were very good. Excellent tarter sauce.
Our server was wonderful and after a brief gift certificate snafu, we got things sorted out and enjoyed the evening.
We will come back again!
Victor Toal
Great place at the end of the dock. The outside deck is a great place to enjoy an evening meal. The food was pretty good and the portions had the right size - not so big most people can't finish it and not so small you wonder what you were paying for. Friendly waitress, prices seemed fair.
Robert Short
We were in Boston for the marathon and decided to drive the coast to Portland site seeing. We decided on Luke's for dinner and booked a table on Resy Reservations. GREAT MOVE! The staff were so friendly, the manager stopped by our table, and the food was outstanding! Excellent service and a beautiful view. Luke's Lobster - Portland Pier will be our Coastal Maine lobster/seafood dining destination from now on.
Jennifer Sabins
I tried the new Spicy Mala Lobster roll and it was just as good as advertised. Not too spicy, but such a unique flavor that I haven’t had in a lobster roll before. I highly recommend the Mala roll to anyone in Portland looking for a great lobster roll experience. Not to mention the friendly, speedy service or great location. Great job all around.
Tiffany SO
Very friendly and helpful staff! Menu offered a variety of seafood options. Food was great! Blueberry pie was amazing! Views are beautiful even at night! I highly recommend dining at Luke's when visiting Portland! Also seems like a nice restaurant to celebrate a special occasion!
Timothy Bergeron
Amazing food and friendly staff. First time visiting and the food was outstanding. The lobster rolls do not have mayonnaise on them and have a seasoning. The gluten free roll tasted great and was fresh. Highly recommended even if you do not have a gluten sensitivity it tastes great.
Taylor Snipes
Maybe my favorite lobster roll in the city! Luke’s lobster is awesome. We came here for a wedding welcome party on Friday night before the big day and they had the place rented out. We were spoiled with an open bar and all the small plates and snacks you could want. I know I already said it but the lobster roll is INCREDIBLE. They have such a perfect space for parties and events. The upstairs was awesome with a great outdoor space. I can’t wait to come back and actually dine here.
Cam Peden
This was our second time visiting Luke's and it was another great experience. The staff is absolutely wonderful and went out of their way to ensure our toddler enjoyed dinner. The food was delicious and the view is incredible. Great beer & cocktail selection as well. 🍻 👏 …
Anderson Harp
Welcome to waterfront Portland. Their upstairs dining room comes with 180 degree views of Portland Harbor. It’s a million dollar view thanks to the vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows. I hade the 6oz traditional lobster 🦞 roll with chips, pickle, and a bloody marry for an early lunch on Sunday. Service was quick and friendly. No wait time.
Great spot for tourists visiting Portland and Maine for the first time.
Olga Hehl
Our dinner at Luke’s Lobster was very enjoyable.
The place is casual and it seems to cater to a young crowd (this could have been coincidental). We sat upstairs, inside, but still had a lovely view of the water and the boats.
Our server, Emily K., was very attentive. The place was busy and she had to carry trays of food up the stairs constantly; she seemed to have no difficulty doing so.
My husband ordered a lobster, which was served with clams in addition to the traditional side dishes. I ordered mussels, as an appetizer and haddock as a main course. Everything was fresh and delicious.
For dessert, we both ordered the blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream on the side. I am not particularly fond of pies, in general, but this one was exceptional; it tasted like homemade.
We liked everything!
Andrew Sunada
This place was great! The lobster was delicious as expected. Not a lot of bar options and they were super busy so it took a bit for them to serve us but once they did, they were on point, quick, and helpful.
Their options simple but they did the chowder and their lobster roll well.
Great atmosphere with a wonderful outdoor dock option. Overall service was great.
Donna Gordon
Definitely an experience! Waiting for a inside table about 30 minutes so I sat at the bar and ate. Had the trio Lobster roll & Cesar salad, definitely to much food. Definitely fresh lobster! Need more than one primary person at the bar, difficult to get their attention. Try the Rachel Collins, certainly refreshing & tasty.
Drew C
Great setting! Hostesses and server were not very friendly. Lobster roll was “ok” not great, fries were really good. The drink menu was very limited and the bartender was not helpful at all when trying to make a selection. The place would do a lot better with a better drink selection.
Matt Sheren
This place was amazing. I was I town for a show at The State theater and came here for a late lunch. The view of the water was beautiful. I couldn’t decide between the spicy lobster roll or the regular one… so I ordered both! The lobster tasted so fresh and the spicy roll was just spicy enough as to not over shadow the taste of the lobster. Our server was great. Attentive, polite, great recommendations. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Matthew Harrington
Service was excellent. View was beautiful. And the lobster was everything I could have asked for. Absolutely delicious. I got the Hot Honey Lob roll, and the touch of sweetness was unique, but it absolutely worked. Will be returning whenever my next trip to Portland is.
Jon Vargas
I followed the sign from commercial street and walked to the end of the pier where Luke’s was waiting for me. It’s such an amazing location with great views of the harbor. I surprisingly ordered the burger (to go) and it was one of the best burgers I have had. The side of fries were hot and crispy (not something I have experienced too often with take out fries) and the burger itself was well portioned. The bun to meat ratio was well balanced so each bite was consistent and the sauce was on the side so my burger wasn’t soggy when I got to my destination. I finished my burger before I thought to grab a photo but the bag is pretty neat and all materials in my order were 100% recyclable.
Deborah Lee
Seating and waiting list is efficient, bar is full service though small. They were understaffed when we went but everyone was so nice and as efficient as they could be. Food came out REALLY fast. The soup was rich and creamy, the lobster rolls were fresh and lobster was sweet. It was super crowded but food was coming out quickly, beer on tap was really good. Reasonable prices, good food, wonderful service.
Ibrahim Mansoor
Great spot with an amazing view. Options of indoors and outdoors plus a beautiful 2nd story with a beautiful view overlooking the ocean.
And then top it all off with the greatest lobster roll ever! My fiancé and I ordered, Golden Calamari (fresh), New England Clam Chowder and Spicy Mala Lobster Roll! Everything was absolutely exceptional. Service was pretty quick for how packed the place was.
Will definitely go back for more of the lobster roll!!!
Michael Delamere
Lives up to its billing, excellent lobster rolls! Kids menu helps make this a spot good for the family. Considering you’re there for lobster, prices are fair. Cool views of the bay while you dine as a bonus! Service was quite friendly also.
Peter Eastvold
The lobster roll was great! Probably the best you can do without ordering an entire lobster. My wife liked the root beer. My picky kids ate the haddock, so that's saying something.
Carrie Schmidt
The staff were so nice & friendly. I got a great view. I ordered the lobster roll flight & all three were delicious! I will definitely be back.
Reema Srivastava
Excellent location ,views and service! Both the indoor and outdoor dining options are scenic ! You can’t go wrong with any order here I believe. The truffle butter lobster roll, broiled haddock and garden salad were so fresh & of high quality. Highly recommended when in Portland,ME!
Ellie
Very chill spot, we sat on the outdoor deck and had a view of the boats passing by. although the time we visited the place was hustling and bustling, service was still attentive and friendly. Fried calamari’s were crispy and fresh and the lobster rolls were very flavorful too.
Jay Hoffman
Best lobster rolls in Maine. While prices for lobster rolls have skyrocketed Luke’s is still the best value out there. $28 is about as good as you can due in today’s market. Go upstairs on the second level and enjoy the open air bar and balcony views of the bay. You may even spot a lobster boat coming into port at Luke’s. The local beer on tap is a perfect match for your seafood. Friendly staff make for a fun experience.
Emerald Leon
The location was beautiful and their drinks were decently made. The rolls they had, while different than most in the area, lacked flavor. So, it ended up not being that memorable. It unfortunately is a place I wouldn't recommend unless you want to have a drink with a nice view. I do recommend sitting outside if possible if you end up going!
kenny whipple
This is our first time visiting Maine. We came specifically to have the lobster roll and was very happy that we did. The buttery roll and fresh lobster meat is why we will be back! Service and food were great!
Derek Barbosa
Even on an absolutely slammed day, our waitress was quick to put in our orders and provide excellent service. Lobster rolls were fresh and fantastic, and the appetizers stole the show! Definitely a must for any visitor.
Steve Jones
Great restaurant with plenty of seating at the end of the pier with great views and good food! Watch them clean the catch and then have the freshest lobster for a meal.
Loni Burks
Listed as a favorite, Luke’s is the ideal place for a standard Maine style meal. The lobster roll was the original type for the area which lacks a real spice or flavor but the lobster was very tender and cooked satisfactorily. The mussels were so fresh they tasted like sand; they were just too gritty for us. The views were nice and the atmosphere was relaxing.
Tracy Sung
Our first stop for a lobster roll in Maine! We got the trio and the lobster roll and it was super fresh, seasoned well and overall just a wonderful intro to Maine seafood.
We came on a Friday night, so we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table and they notified us via text, so it was super convenient.
There are a few parking spots and they are all metered, so make sure to top up before going in! Overall, a nice experience, but quite crowded.
Sabrina Starace
My friend and I stumbled upon Luke's Lobsters on our girl's trip to Portland. What we shared: 4 cocktails (Lemon Of Pink, Blueberry Mojito, Beach Party, and Summer Peach Margarita) + Bowl of New England Clam Chowder, Golden Calamari, and Lobster Rolls. Everything was delicious, and our server Jaclyn was so sweet! We will be visiting again on our next trip to Portland!
Gerardo Bonilla
Absolutely delicious, if u are in massachussets its a must! Worth every penny and more. The lobster roll was amazing, the whole lobster has a fresh and sweet taste like ive never tried and rhe service is super friendly and amazongly fast.
Sarah Ellis
Luke’s was recommended by a local and did not disappoint. Quintessential New England! Loved every minute of our experience. Right on the water, quick service, and delicious food.
Matthew Pollack
This lovely seafood spot on the pier was absolutely perfect!!! The food was beyond scrumptious and I didn't stop eating until everything was gone. The staff was extremely friendly and kind. The atmosphere was captivating and the view was breathtaking. It was definitely pricey but if you're willing to drop the extra dollars for the higher quality seafood, I would highly recommend Luke's with a MASSIVE seal of approval.
Robin R Johnson
I like how they do the lobster roll here . Perfect temperature ( not too cold ), nice balance of mayo ( not saturated ) and delicious, yet not overpowering spices. And the location can’t be beat, with amazing harbor views in a modern , clean environment. Loved it.
Maria Elena
Our family was visiting from Italy and what a better place to have a fresh lobster with a romantic view of the ocean. We had a whole steamed lobster and a lobster Mac and cheese, they were all fantastic. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy.
Wineguy71
Food is great. Service is really good as well. Beautiful views of the water. Not pricey but, not cheap either. We are local and are fans of this location.
June Reisner
We have been to Luke’s Lobster all three years we have been to visit Portland, ME! We didn’t just go one time, the first trip we went twice, second trip 4 times in 3 days, 3rd trip 2 times (because we visited further north ME this trip! The atmosphere is beautiful, Food phenomenal, staff tremendous! We highly recommend you visit while in Portland!
Elayne Monique
Luke's was good. 1st time trying a full lobster and ohhh was it a surprise lol. We had the 2 lobster, shrimp, and crab flights. We're more of warm crab eaters, but the cold meat was cool. Lobster was good too. Great customer service!
Brian Vickery
Lobster, crab & shrimp trio is really good. They add a house seasoning to the rolls that's nice. View is always good. Wait time can be a little long but we went upstairs to the bar and sat down right away. Lobster bisque is the best we had in Portland. We actually went twice this past trip just for that bisque.
Carrie Mann
I discovered Luke's when I was planning our family vacation to Maine, and I knew we would want to stop for a lobster roll. When I saw that Luke's not only offered gluten-free rolls but also allowed dogs to visit the patio, I knew we found the right place. We were not disappointed! The patio is directly on the pier, and it was fun to watch the boats travel in and out of the bay. Grace, our server, was awesome! She was friendly, personable and even made sure our pup's needs were met while we were there! The lobster rolls were incredible! Perfectly seasoned and full of flavor! If non-alcoholic drinks are more your style, be sure to try a craft soda. The blueberry lemonade and root beer were very tasty! Metered parking is directly on the pier, making the restaurant easily accessible. I hope to visit from southern Indiana again soon!
Amanda Almeida
My boyfriend and I waited maybe 20 minutes with an expectation of 30 and the service and food was 10/10. We appreciate Kevin and his quick act to resolve the incorrect app order. Regardless of the errors both apps were great! Great menu choices, great beer choices, and really it gives us a reasons to come back. You’d be missing out if you didn’t stop by!
Megan Lewis
Wow! Absolutely amazing food with the best view on the deck! The spicy Lobster was phenomenal!!! Emily was our server and was awesome ! Definetly a new favorite ! We will have back!
D Stewart
We were pleasantly surprised to only have to wait for about 20 minutes during a busy August day. My wife ordered the large lobster roll with a summer ale and I ordered Luke's Trio with the Lunch IPA. They could have used less butter on the rolls, but the flavor was still very good and the lobster was cooked perfectly. My favorite was the crab roll. The cole slaw was pretty flavorless, so I'd avoid it. The view and the service were both excellent!
Bryan Wohlwend
Had a great dinner here. Lobster and crab rolls were delicious. I had the Trio but tried away the shrimp roll so can’t speak to that (but my friend loved it). Very relaxed, casual atmosphere. Attentive, friendly staff. Good value for the money too. We will return next time we are in Portland for sure!
Katelyn Harris Lange
Delicious! I was looking forward to getting my lobster roll🦞for a week & Luke's delivered! Delicious. Not too much mayo & very fresh. Also loved that I could sub a side salad instead of chips. Highly recommend & nice back patio on the pier. …
Henry Depew
Great outdoor seating on the pier. View is great and nice to hear the boats, seagulls and other sounds that remind one of the ocean. Ordered large lobster roll and clam chowder and lighthouse salad with fried haddock. All were good. Gentleman working front desk was good told us 30 minute wait and that is what we waited. Gave us a chance to walk around and come back.
Briana Burris
Charming and delicious! Beautiful view! Would not recommend the $13 coconut, pineapple cocktail. It was a comically small portion. (Photo’d prior to taking a drink)
Meghan Bloniasz
Luke's, located at the end of Portland Pier, is a perfect way to spend any afternoon with friends and family. You'll experience the view of the beautiful Portland Harbor and while eating delicious seafood. Definitely should check Luke's out if you're visiting Portland!
turki apple
Great place. Nice location n food. Went for Maine lobsters. Ok tasting. those at bar harbor are much better.
Jackie Graham
A lady at our hotel recommended Luke’s Lobsters and we are SO glad she did. My boyfriend and I ordered the mussels, lobster rolls, poppyseed slaw, blueberry mojito, whiskey ginger, and ended our meal with the blueberry pie (from two fat cats local bakery). Everything was absolutely amazing. We sat at the bar and Jeff took care of us. Jeff was extremely nice and attentive but also gave us enough space to enjoy our time.
We stopped out on a Monday night thinking they would be be too busy but we were wrong. The hostess informed us that they were full for the night… but the bar was open. The bar was perfect for us and very enjoyable. Again, Jeff was great!
We are traveling from Pittsburgh PA and only staying in Portland for one night. We are so glad we checked this spot out. Luke’s Lobsters was excellent and we will be talking about that meal for a long time. 20/10 would highly recommend!
Maeghan
Just was in from Chicago for work, and the atmosphere of this place was beautiful! I had the warm lobster roll and the lobster bisque and it was delicious! I will most definitely recommend to my peers!
Michaela Gagne
Beautiful, beautiful view... Had some amazing drinks, enjoyed the atmosphere, would definitely go back to try the great seafood!
Qasim Qureshi
Never thought lobster could taste this good. The location is great, the ambiance is top notch, the service was quick and efficient and the food was just amazing. First time in Maine and I wanted to eat lobster, couldn't have chosen a better option.
Robert Lloyd
Awesome place on the docks of Portland. I don't think I've ever had lobster this fresh and clean tasting. Service was great and helpful with any questions.
Fanuel Muindi
A must visit. Late April early May are good times too. Not too crowded and lots of parking around. Great service and food!
Q Johnson
We were visiting Maine from Georgia and this place was suggested by many locals. The atmosphere was really nice and loved sitting on the water. We waited for about an hour, which seemed pretty typical for popular places here in Maine. We got the haddock bites and the lobster roll. The lobster roll was very traditional and you can tell it focuses on the taste and cook of the lobster. So it was good to see what the traditional roll should taste like. The haddock was fresh, the breading was light…but being from the south we like a thicker and well seasoned batter (which isn’t good for you lol) so it was different. Overall this was a good way to get very traditional dinner.
Audrey Pohl
I'm not much of a seafood person, but I ate the New England Clam Chowder and it was delicious. My dad enjoyed the Trio. He always goes for a lobster roll. My mom had a sandwich with lobster in it I just can't remember what it was exactly. She seemed to like it though. We ordered the chicken bucket for a starter but were confused to only get like 6 pieces of chicken. Looked more like some chicken nuggets. But it was a decent restaurant overall and good views of the water from both outside and inside seating.
Judi Sandrock
Best Caesar salad I’ve had, I recommend the lobster add on. Busy Saturday with great weather and service was excellent and swift.
Dave P
Great atmosphere, had the Halibut Bites, lobster bisque and BLT sandwich. The bites were the best. Was a little pricy for lunch but good.
Lisa Whelpley
We only came here for a late afternoon cocktail. There was a 20 minutes wait but no big deal. We were seated at a fabulous table right on the water outdoors. The other guests were friendly. Our server was efficient and helpful.
Jeanette Barto
I finally had a gluten free lobster roll while in Maine!
It was delicious! The bun was not the huge dry type but normal bun size and soft. I ate the whole thing!
Our waiter was very helpful in answering questions and making suggestions.
Pricey but worth it for a special occasion!
Dagmar
My last night in Maine and I wanted a good lobster dinner with a view. Luke's has both (though it's very casual and most of the meals come in baskets). There is lots of outdoor seating in this multi-level bar/restaurant. Servers are very friendly and attentive. The lobster was steamed to perfection and delicious. I would have preferred different sides, but it's not that kind of place, so I went with the salad and fries. Very relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere.
Rev. Sal DiMisa
We were 7 guys on a road trip. The staff was great, and gave us a great table. We ordered several apps, clam chowder and entrees. The portions were nice but the quality and freshness was on point. We had a terrific meal, just check off all the boxes of what makes a wonderful restaurant. Nice job Luke's.
Jacob Milam
Great food with an unbeatable view! You are right on the water here with a beautiful view while ypu are eating. I have to say the lobster bisque is a must try here so great with large chunks of lobster throughout. They also have an amazing lobster roll that is unique from others. The service was incredible and super on top of things. Loved our experience here.
David Granoff
Luke's lobster Portland Pier is a nice place to stop for lunch after walking around Portland's Old Town.
Pro tip: Take a table by the window and you will get a great view of the harbor without seagulls trying to steal your food, then you can walk outside after you have eaten.
It's a seafood place located right on the pier where lobster gets unloaded fresh from the sea, and it's next to the fish market, so be sure to get something from the ocean.
The clam chowder and lobster corn chowder are very good, as was the blueberry pie a la mode. Top it off with a glass of one of the local brews (if you like an IPA, pick the Maine Lunch IPA) and you have a really good lunch.
The lobster rolls are highly rated but pricey compared to what you might pay at some of the places on the islands, but if you are staying in Portland they are worth ordering.
All in all, a great view, good food, and good friendly service. Recommended!
Samantha Trobough
Amazing lobster roll and perfect portions. Quick service and delicious cocktails too. Lobster roll was $37 for the large. Friends got the trio and weren't fond of the crab roll, but liked the lobster and shrimp ones. Not the best view (it's a fishing pier), but a nice spot on the water if you're wanting one.

Busy night Thursday, Sat within 20 minutes. Patio was a little chilly but that was our call. Boats in and out, add the atmosphere. Nice dinner with my daughter for her 15th Bday.

Luke's Lobster is a small business with 20 locations located throughout the U.S. they started as a small lobster shack in NYC serving up authentic Maine lobster rolls. We visited this location and loved the atmosphere here. It's right on the pier and they have indoor and outdoor seating with some amazing views if you see my pictures. The service was okay but the food was great! A little pricy for the size but overall good quality. They showcase where they source their food on a board out front near the host stand. If you want an on the pier lobster experience with great views then Luke's Lobster is the spot to try!
To start, My wife and I were quoted about a 30 minute wait but only waited about ten minutes before getting a table which was nice. We got a two person table in the shade and was greeted by our server in a reasonable time. We both shared the Fried Haddock Bites with house made tartar sauce and a Luke's Trio which consisted of 1/2 a lobster roll, 1/2 a crab roll, 1/2 a shrimp roll, a pickle spear and a bag of chips for $28. We substituted the chips for a side salad for $2 more. To drink, I had the Seadog Blueberry Ale and the wife had a Passion fruit Margarita on the rocks.
Our server had actually forgot to put in our appetizer and we received the main meal before the fried haddock bites and we didn't get them until we were almost done with the main meal. We still ate and enjoyed haddock bites but no use ordering it as an appetizer if it doesn't come out as one. The appetizer came with about 9-10 pieces of fried haddock that seemed to have a cornmeal/flour breading that had a nice crunch but wasn't too thick. The haddock was nice and moist with great flavor and their tartar sauce was some of the best homemade tartar sauce I've had in a while. I really liked it! Just wish they served a bit more with the fish but I'm sure if we had asked the server she would have brought more out.
Luke's Trio was a wonderful way of trying the different rolls that Luke's had to offer. The lobster roll was tender and moist and was a classic lobster roll served cold on a toasted bun with a sprinkle of seasoning on top. They don't serve it with drawn butter so you'll have to ask for that but I think they put some on top for you already. The crab roll was also great served cold with lots of shredded crab meat on a toasted bun and topped with butter and seasoning. Not completely shell free as I found a couple tiny bits of shell as I was eating it but assume they pull the meat by hand so it wasn't something to cry about. And finally, the shrimp roll. Tons of cold baby shrimps on the same toasted roll and topped with the same seasoning. I don't think they add butter to this one. The shrimps were tender and juicy and you can taste the freshness in every bite!
Our drinks were good. The flavor of the blueberry ale was satisfying and had subtle blueberry flavor without losing sight of being a beer and not just some fruit drink. My wife liked her passion fruit Margarita, however they put Tajin on the rim which didn't really fit the flavor of the drink. Maybe just a colored sugar would have been a better alternative. Also, my wife and I agreed that we could barely taste the passion fruit flavor and mostly just tastes like a regular margarita.
If you follow me, you know that I like when servers ask if we've been there before when we go to places. We like being told what the restaurant is all about and what stands them out from the others and we also like being recommend drinks and food that the place is known for without having to ask the server. Otherwise, your food and atmosphere better speak loudly because your service is like any other place and isn't special and doesn't make for a special or unique experience. Sadly, our server did not do this here. And on top of forgetting our food, it was mediocre service at best.

Lobster dinner is great. Order the 1 1.5 pound lobster instead of the 2 1 pound lobsters. Just great.
Also they have amazing ginger beer.

Let me start by saying the food was excellent. I had my very first lobster roll in Maine and it was delicious, so I have no complaints about the food. The service is another story. We decided to order drinks at the bar until our table was ready. The bar was busy, but not one time did a bartender even acknowledge us until we asked to be served. She blatantly served others who arrived at the bar after us. Our server at the table seemed agitated the moment she came to our table. Slamming utensils and plates on the table. We are a family of five and it was our first time at the restaurant, so it took us a little time to decide what we wanted. Again, our waitress was visibly irritated with us and kept forgetting to bring a few drinks we ordered. It was clear to us that she did not want to be our waitress. I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, but the service turned it into a bad experience.

Excellent food, service, location and atmosphere. Clam chowder is thick and not watered down. Lobster was sweet and tender. Perfect.

A+ customer service! I recently ordered a box of lobster rolls to be sent to Hawaii for a friend's birthday wanting to cheer her up while she was visiting her grandmother in hospice care. The arrival date on my order was the day of her birthday, however, after they were shipped, the arrival date changed to a day later... I was so bummed that this package of deliciousness would miss her completely as she was headed back home to the east coast. I let the customer service team know what happened and they were able to resend another box to her! It made us both very happy! Thanks, Sam for helping me out! If you ever want to send lobster rolls to family or friends, I would definitely recommend Luke's!

Decent fried seafood, good slaw, standard fires. Nice staff, boisterous, fun atmosphere.

The food and atmosphere are AMAZING. Staff is super friendly. The food is incredible, lobster bisque is perfect. Parking is kind of expensive (7$ an hour) but is worth it. Downtown area is pleasant too.

Holy moly... Not sure if all new England lobstah is this good, but dang... This place is a must. Get the spicy honey lobster rolls, thank me later.
TARUN REDDY
Go here for lobsters. Service was amazing and great views from 2nd floor.

My second time here and it was just as good as the first! Love the location and of course the lobster rolls! We decided to get the clam chowder and it's so tasty! Definitely have to check this place out when visiting Portland.
olga López
Loved the clams ! Beautiful view
Great service . Luca was very helpful and attentive.
Christopher
Good food and friendly staff. Nice setting for a beer after work. I have one complaint/suggestion: please serve the beverages in a normal, reusable cup! They’ll only serve non-alcoholic beverages like water etc. in plastic cups, which must generate a lot of (unnecessary) waste each day. Plastic cups feels too close to a fast-food experience, which I prefer to avoid.

Always a must-go lunch spot, especially when we have out-of-town visitors. The view of the bay from the floor-to-ceiling windows truly adds to the experience. Cocktails are fresh, and the food is even fresher and always incredible. I suggest anything on the menu.

Our first stop upon arriving in Portland. We had a lobster roll with french fries. There was about a twenty minute wait, but worth it. The food was excellent and our table overlooked the port. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Moosa Khalid
Food was really good. We had the broiled haddock, honey pepper lobster roll and lobster bisque. Haddock was crispy and fresh, lobster was amazing and lobster bisque was warm and tasty.
The only reason I'm taking 2 stars away is our server. Forgot to give us any napkins or cutlery for salad. A simple smile could have changed our perception of her but no she was definitely not having a good day and wanted to spread those vibes. At the end I asked her for a box to take away my son's fries and she literally stopped and stared at me with an annoyed expression....like it was a crime to ask for one.
Monica Mak
Yep! Delicious! Excellent service at the upstairs bar, fresh lobster, yummy food and beautiful views! Highly recommend. Per some locals decided not to go to the overhyped DiMillo’s on the water because we were told that it’s just not that good for the price. So, we decided to get our seafood fix at Luke’s lobster and we were not at all disappointed.

First time ever going to Luke’s and I must say if I ever come back to Portland, this will be where I’m going for another lobster!!
Travis Wilson
Lovely view of the boats and seeing the fishermen brining in the days catch. The food was delicious, my favorite clam chowder I’ve had in New England. Not too rich but plenty of substance.
j tolpa
Great selection of fresh seafood cooked to to your liking. We had the combo 1/2 rolls (lobster, crab, and shrimp). Super fresh and seasoned very nicely. Staff was friendly and service was quick.

Great views of the water (from inside) or sit on the water (from the back deck). The food was delicious - we ordered the Fried Haddock Bites, Popcorn Chicken Pail and Luke's Trio (1/2 lobster roll, 1/2 crab roll & 1/2 shrimp roll). All were amazing. They also have a great selection of craft beer, mostly local, on tap.
Update April 2021: visited again and had another great experience. We sat upstairs for the first time and the view up there is even better. Got to see some seals swimming around and a Bald Eagle fly over the water. We'll be back again and again.
Frank Longo
Fantastic location for water side dinning at end of the pier. We each had the 1.5lb lobster dinner. Delicious but like all Portland warf restaurants it was expensive. Wine by the glass had small pours and the most expensive we experienced compared to the six or so other establishments we visited. We did find parking on the same pier only 50 steps from the entrance.
Overall, not sure if I would return again.

My husband & I visited Luke's Lobster for dinner on our weekend visit to Portland, and we LOVED it! He wanted a whole lobster for dinner, and this place was highly recommended by multiple locals in the area. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again on our next visit to the city!
Cindy Lisk
Had my 1st lobster roll. It was good. Really it is a lot of lobster meat (cold) on a hoagie bun with some butter and mayonaise. Nothing super special, very costly because lobster is expensive. Probably won't go out of my way to get it again but it was an experience. The view was amazing and the staff was attentive.
Gabriele Falsetti
This place is excellent. I went there in January, everything was delicious. The view makes you feel like you are dining in the middle of the bay. We ended up talking about fish and fishermen with the manager.
Over the top experience.
Callissa Norton
Staff were nice. Cool place right on the port. We just stopped to try clam chowder for the first time. French fries were good. Great drinks!
Naomi Pearl
Wonderful atmosphere right on the water. Friendly staff and good service. The lobster rolls were so good and filling. . Had a great time!
Jon Swift
Stopped here for lunch. Shared the steamed shore dinner. Lobster was great. Servi c e was very good. Would recommend and come again.
Dave Valko
Luke's is an amazing find in Portland. The staff is amazing! Ali is the best! Great drinks, great food. A must if you get to Portland. Truly the best Lobster Roll in Portland!
Stephen Pond
One of our favorite places to get a first class lobsta roll, and cup a chowda. The Maine Beer Company Lunch IPA is a nice addition!
Sarah T
We ate upstairs where it's open table seating. The food and service were excellent. The view from upstairs is great! (BTW if you think lobster will cost less in Maine, it does not....BUT it'sdelicious)
Rick
Excellent experience, the staff is top notch, really on their game! Lovely lobster roll, everyone was really happy with their meal! Lunch on the water, not much better!
Douglas Smith
Great place for a delicious lobster roll. Not too heavy and loaded with fresh lobster. Wait staff are friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Definitely a must when in Portland.
Douglas Brown
It was great. Our first night in Portland on a little 3 day visit. We wanted lobster rolls near our hotel so did an internet search. We were a little concerned when we saw there were multiple Lukes in a bunch of cities, it turned out to be no concern at all. The classic lobster roll was amazing, my wifes truffle butter lobster roll was amazing, and the calamari appetizer was the best we’ve had in a while. We also shared a Maine Mojito, which has a blueberry twist to the classic mojito, and it was awesome as well. The waitress was also great. My wife wanted to try the truffle butter roll but was a little hesitant but the server told her it was delicious and it was. There are a bunch of restaurants we want to try but this was so good we’re considering going back. The view, even in the dark, was very nice as well
Bryan Champ
We ordered delivery from Luke's on the first evening we arrived in town for an extended weekend. The food was absolutely delicious - and we were super pleased to see that it all had arrived piping hot, and packaged perfectly. The lobster was cooked 100% on point and the meat was to die for! We especially enjoyed the claw meat. The side dishes were also very good... as a slaw fan I give it 2 thumbs up! We thought the Steamed Shore Dinner was a great value at $38, and it was enough for 2 people - as it also came with a pound of clams. I'd definitely recommend Luke's again, and we can't wait to dine-in during our next visit to Portland!
Joseph Denton
Luke’s Lobster got us in after changing reservations twice. Their friendly and kind demeanor plus insanely amazing food will bring me back time and time again!
Thanks and appreciate you guys!
Heather Cochran-Rock
Had a great meal. Good selection for seafood lovers. If you do not eat seafood, choices are extremely limited, but we knew that before going.
Pauline Pham
My first experience with Luke's Lobster was in Boston. This new location in Portland is more cute-sy and for the most part serves the same food. You get some nice, peaceful views as it is located on the pier. You're in Maine...there's not a shortage of places that serve lobster rolls but Luke's Lobster is a solid choice. It's not my favorite but it's good and I enjoy it. I'm not going to act like I am a lobster roll connoisseur either. The lobster rolls are filled with fresh lobster meat. There's a nice amount of mayo on there but that's pretty much it - nothing that makes them really stand out but that's ok! The bun itself is decent. Just an FYI, if you get a large it doesn't mean the roll is bigger - it just means there is double the meat. The crab roll was pretty decent as well. I like the crab because it's a bit sweeter and more refreshing. This place also gets extra points for being open all year round. A few of my favorites close when the weather starts getting cold and don't open back up until Spring. All in all an OK place.

My family and I visited earlier today. We decided to go here because they have stellar views and we love seafood. It took some time before the waiter acknowledged our presence (no big deal). We all received our food within a timely manner however my mother-in-laws order was incorrect. The waitress said she would immediately bring up the right order. A lot of time passed and we all ate our food and finished it, before my wife went and told the manager that her mother’s food had yet to arrive. Within minutes, the manager came up and apologized and said he was taking the item off our bill and that it would be served immediately. Even though they made a mistake, I can appreciate the manager owning up to it and introducing and apologizing personally to our table. That great service is the reason why I gave Luke’s 5 stars. On top of that, I really enjoyed my Trio and my wife’s full Lobster was excellent. Great job and I hope you continue to practice exceptional customer service.
Eddie Henderson
Our server, Evan, was incredible. Very knowledgeable and personable!!! His recommendations were spot on. We had lobster bisque, and 3 roll trio ( lobster roll, crab roll, and shrimp roll), house salad, potato salad, and Moscow Mule. Heading back their tonight. 😜🤣🤣 The view was great too! …
V.S.
Great experience celebrating my sister's birthday. Loved their lobster, as well as sampler of lobster/crab/shrimp role. Very friendly staff.
Kurt Dossin
I had Luke's Trio, three separate lobster, crabmeat, and baby shrimp rolls. They were excellent but would prefer without the spices on top and the buttery rolls.
David Rodriguez
Great customer service, good drinks and excellent food! Highly recommend!
Beth Hogan
Great location on the pier! Went with the lobster roll and fries, son went with the combo 1/2 lobster, 1/2 shrimp, and 1/2 crab roll , daughter went with haddock sandwich. Lobster roll was delicious, my son said his favorite was the lobster of the 3. Fries were ok but could have been cooked a bit more.
Brandi Overstreet
Good food, great view, but it was pricey. I got clam chowder and a lobster roll, my boyfriend got a whole steamed lobster for the first time in his life. The chowder was a little grainy, but I feel like that might be unavoidable, I've never had clam chowder before. I definitely think it's more of a tourist thing - lobster just doesn't have a lot of flavor so it was nothing great, but if you go to Maine you need to get lobster somewhere, and this place is a good option for that. The menu is small, but you're probably going for lobster anyways so it shouldn't matter. There was a 20ish minute wait, and they did have the tables spaced out really far for covid. I do recommend it, unless it's something you've done before, because lobster in general just isn't special
Toddi Norum
From reviews, I expected more from this restaurant choice. Our meals were fine, but pricey, and certainly not what I expected from the descriptions. They seemed small for the price and overhyped compared to other area options.
Tatiana Laibinis
This place far surpasses eventide oyster co in my opinion. This is a great spot for classic, excellent sea food. The stuff you crave when you take a trip to Portland or any harbor. We got the fried haddock and the lobster roll and we were in heaven. Very delicious. Plus great views and a clean and hip atmosphere. What more do you need?
N T-K
We agree with the other comments. Very bland! Definitely needs more flavor or seasoning! Also the fish is so overpriced 🙃 You would think it would be more flavorful. 😉However, the ambiance is amazing and the hostess was very pleasant! …
Irene Devine
Our server, Christian, ran over a block in the rain to catch up to our car to return a phone one of us had left behind. Awesome service! He treated us well throughout our meal and went above and beyond afterward. Thank you Christian!!
Jennifer Mitchell
Great warm lobster roll and view of the seals. Great day!
Gabe Newhall
Definitely a great first time experience with Maine seafood!!! I got the fried clams and my wife got the lobster platter, both were phenomenal.
Darwin Wu
Decent food and a beautiful view but no Wi-Fi. Restaurants print out QR codes for menus, why not put a Wi-Fi QR code near the entrance?
Jerry Katzenmeyer
Little expensive but the best lobster roll in old port Maine. I was on a business trip and asked where to go for lobster and was told Luke's. They were not wrong. Will go back soon.
bonnie gruber
10 stars!!!! Outstanding, best lobster roll is right here! Great views from the restaurant, my husband had the haddock and it was also outstanding. Definitely coming back to Portland just to eat here!
Robyn Bunch
Surprised by the quality, service and pickles.
Ordered regular size Lobster roll which came with the crispest pickle and a large portion of chips. Service is quick, attentive and friendly. Space is clean (it has been open 2 weeks at time of review). Lobster roll was seasoned with oregano or something similar.
Even though I avoid chain restaurants, this place knows what they are doing and do it well.
If I’m in the area again, I’ll come back.
Catherine Cybulkiewicz
Very nice location with great view of the ocean. Music was excellent ❤️
We ordered a BLT lobster and we thought the bacon take over all the flavor, for sure we won’t order that anymore. We regret we didn’t try the lobster roll because we know it’s good. The lobster bisque was good but a little bit simple.
Service was very good. They offer local beers ✨👌🏼
Mark Salerno
Awesome views, delicious food. Got the lobster roll, fried clams, street corn, and popcorn chicken with kelp buttermilk. Views and service made the experience
Jesse Williams
Amazing food. Great service
Kraig Smith
I love this place. Had the opportunity to stop here on a recent visit to Portland and loved it. The food was awesome and the menu was perfect. The layout and decor of the restaurant was exactly what you’d expect. Great selection of beers and other drinks. The view off the dock was special and really enjoyable.

First place we came straight off the plane. The lobster rolls are so good!!!! And everything else as well :) great service & great interactions on social media with this crew ;)

My lunch was perfection.the clam chowder was bomb. The lobster role was killer. Seriously the perfect welcome to Maine. People were so nice. View was outta the world.
Chris Pierce
Pricey but outstanding! Highly recommend!
Melisa Mann
Fun little stop in our Portland bar and food crawl. Excellent service and good drinks. We really didn't eat here but the little bites I had off of strangers plates bc of too many excellent lime something alcoholic Ricky's were pretty tasty 🤭 …
Jen P
My food was beyond amazing. Our server Christian was awesome and recommended the fried haddock bites and my picky eater friends loved them! I had the whole lobster and Christian was great in explaining the proper way to eat the lobster and I was able to get all of the delicious meat out. From the food to the service everything was outstanding. Overall an amazing experience and I’ll definitely be back!
Kristen Fissell
got the whole lobster with two sides and I was BLOWN AWAY by how big this guy was! also, both the slaw and fries were delicious and we had excellent, attentive, friendly service. I was so pleased to spend my money here on such good food and an awesome experience. this is the best place!! I live in south Portland and will come here a lot, most certainly will bring my parents and in-laws here when they visit.
Connie Woo
Beautiful outdoor seating. We ordered the lobster bisque, lobster roll, and steamed lobster! The food came out fast and the waitresses were wonderful.
Hershey !!
This place is amazing!!!! i’ve had so many lobster rolls here in maine area and this is the best one definitely!!!!
Jennifer Burg
Lobster dinner was outstanding. Great view. Great service. Great food. I also really appreciate the spaced out tables and readily available hand sanitizer.
Jose Rosario
Loved this place! Awesome view right on the water, try and get seated on the second floor for the best view. The food was excellent! The lobster roll trio gave me the opportunity to try all of their variations and I was not let down. The staff was very friendly and definitely made us feel like we were regulars. The owner was on the floor, sat us and is in the mix with his staff, loved it! Highly recommend!
Toua Yang
Places are usually hype and I often find the results mundane. Lobsters was hyped so I thought I try it and the HYPE is real. I enjoy every bit of it. Maine lobster is something else and I recommend everyone to try it. I'll have to come back for the lobster rolls.
Allison Simpson
This was our first restaurant experience in Portland and we were not disappointed. Staff was great, drinks were delicious. Small menu but excellent experience. My fish and chips were delicious and their homemade tartar sauce is too. Their clam chowder is FILLED.
Also, dog friendly!
Susanne E
We were disappointed that they were out of clam chowder, but their lobster bisque was delicious. Their lobster roll lived up to it's reputation - perfection! The outdoor seating area has a nice view of the port and a pleasant breeze as well. Make sure to book a table, it's a popular spot. Prices are slightly higher than other places nearby.
Susan Harrison
Amazing folks and food. Can't get any fresher than this, unless you were cooking on the boat ya caught your meal. Love that everything is locally sourced, from the seafood, bread, veggies, beers, and yes, even the soda! Mad props. 🙌 …
Morgan
Ordered the lobster roll sampler and the truffle butter roll was by far my favorite! Would go back just to order that specific roll again. Amazing views of the water with a relaxed atmosphere.
Joel Wood
Absolutely fabulous Steamed Lobster! Service was great. Would recommend this place hands down.
Christina A
Great location at the end of a pier, so plan for a short walk and its worth it. The view is unmatched as you are surrounded by water and boats without distraction. There is a great outside area where you can sit fireside if the night is chilly or bask in the sunshine. The environment is casual but the cocktails upscale and the food fresh and delicious! You can also get to go items, if you want to take a picnic or do lobster rolls at home. Friendly staff and overall great experience!
Lyl Rose
Super friendly server! Excellent lobster roll. Great atmosphere on the pier.
Jack Welsh
Super expensive but they offer a good lobster roll with a view. We saw a seal from their dock and got to see lobster boats heading out which added to the experience.
Michela Rae
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in awhile. The staff was so hospitable and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend it to locals and visitors alike.
Kate Kerrigan
Being a local, this is the spot I picked to take my Mom this weekend who is visiting. It did not disappoint! Fantastic service and food. Sealy Dan the Seal even made an appearance. We were even able to enjoy lunch on the patio. Highly recommend and worth the hour wait!
William Asman
Great experience! We walked in and they were immediately able to get us a dinner table for 5. Business picked up pretty quickly after we arrived at 5:40pm. The appetizers came out quickly and were quite tasty. Our entrees were good, I got the lobster roll flight and enjoyed it a lot. The clam chowder was also very delicious, especially when paired with some of their garlic sourdough bread.
Dan Wilding
The food was wonderful. We were a party of five. We tried clam chowder, lobster and corn chowder, fried clams, whole lobster, grilled haddock and the fried haddock plate... Everything exceeded expectations.
Bullitt 78
Sat upstairs at the bar and the staff was fantastic. The haddock bites and haddock chowder did not disappoint. Great location.
Ben Durkit
If you're reading this review and looking at my picture, then you're probably thinking,
"is this the best place to get a lobster roll?"
Let me save you some time:
Yes. Yes it is.
T L
Really nice ambiance and view. Though I wish they also serve hot lobster rolls
Tolga Yildirim
Great view, delicious food and wonderful, friendly staff. We all loved it at Luke’s Lobster. I highly recommend it. Lobster was great. Blueberry pie is a must!
rawad fel
Not the best experience hight price and the lobster missing the flavor
Not for me
Robert Schremmer
Casual seafood on the water. Friendly staff. Loved the Luke’s Trio - a half lobster roll, crab roll, and shrimp roll. At first, the portion looked too small, but in the end, it was just right. Oddly, the trio is served only with potato chips, but upgrading to a salad, fries, or other side is only $2.
Sheila
If you are looking for a quick bite or drink then head right upstairs to the bar, you will have better luck finding a seat. When we got there around 1pm it was an hr & 1/2 wait for proper seating. We almost immediately got a seat at the bar which serves the full menu. There is also beautiful window seating there. We tried the trio, fried clam, fried haddock, and blueberry pie. Everything was great excluding the pie, they had clearly microwaved it as the crust had become very rubbery.
Tammy Reed
I needed some ocean today. I couldn't think of a better place to see it other than on the second floor, during happy hour, enjoying a beer, a mini lobster roll and a bucket fish and chips. Hannah was the best!!
Jodie Ouwinga
First lobster roll I had in my life (I know...I blame my folks!!) and it did not disappoint!
Eric Haddad
Amazing lobster roll and great service. Def have earned their reputation.
T C
Came to Portland for a week and had an amazing time! Fantastic food everywhere. Luke’s was no different. We liked this place, our server was the bartender w red hair. She was not very friendly, a striking difference from literally every place we have been in Maine. Still, we liked the food and views are gorgeous.. recommend- avoid sitting in the bar area. She has a little chip on her shoulder.
Alyssa Cannon
I went there tonight with my family found it to be underwhelming for the price. The restaurant was listed as family-friendly, but there wasn’t much on the kids’ menu. They also didn’t have milk or juice other than lemonade.
Beyond the mislabel, which could have been the article writer’s fault more than the responsibility of the restaurant, even the adult menu was extremely limited. They didn’t have fried shrimp, which I thought was odd and disappointing. On the other hand, the fried scallops were made well, and so was the tartar sauce. I enjoyed my salad with their kelp-buttermilk dressing. The slaw was flavorless, though. My mom said her fries were soggy as well.
The location was great; however, the dining room noise level grew to obnoxious levels as it filled up, and that made conversation difficult. Bottom line - it was okay. For the money, I would not choose to return there.
Jennifer Jones
Food was very good and fresh but when we walked out we saw that we had gotten a $63 parking ticket at 8:30pm. We assumed that the meters were like the rest of Portland and stopped at 6pm. There were no times on the meters. This may not be the parking for Luke’s lobster but please inform customers about the scam going on with these meters. Sign at the entrance? Really ruined the night
Erica Tanner
The trio rolls were amazing! They did a great job with gluten free options. Celiac friendly :)
Cody
Brought some out of state guests here and we were all impressed with the quality, and portion sizes. Your on the docks, so you're going to pay for the view...but it was well worth it. Sunday afternoon and no wait? Count me in. We'll be back. Clam plate was huge!
Nicole Reaume
Luke's didn't disappoint. The lobster 🦞 roll was amazing!!! Definitely get the 6oz. We only had a 20 min wait and the ambiance of the fishing port charm and bay was beautiful and relaxing. …
Andrea A
Delish!! Super filling and tatsy lobster rolls. Nice chunks of lobster on the fresh toasted hoagie. Substituted chips for the lemon-herb potato salad and wasn't disappointed. Very flavorful and a nice compliment to the lobster roll. My husband had the clam steamers and said they were delicious. Nice sized and a generous portion. Loved the clam chowder too. Yummy cocktails. Sampled the Summer Peach Margarita and the Lemon of Pink. Oh, my! It was definitely my favorite and I wish I had had two of them! We've eaten at several restaurants here in Portland and Luke's was by far our favorite choice for Lobster rolls! Our only complaint was that all of the food was brought out at once. Wish we could have savored our chowder before jumping into our dinner, but the food was great!
marcy k
My lobster roll was very fresh, in a nice size. My husband's fried haddock also was delicious. Good service, beautiful sea view...I highly recommend that restaurant
Richard Liang
Well, like its name, this place’s lobster rolls are not bad, but we tried also the clam chowder and steamed clams, both were not good. The steamed clams are not well cleaned, got a mouth full of sand when biting into the clams, no good. I guess this is how they prepared this dish. The view from the restaurant was absolutely amazing, service was good, but food quality was mediocre. So I can only gave 3-star.
Diane Steele
Perfect experience. Friendly service, great food and strong drinks!! so many photo ops! The walk up the pier to the restaurant alone is worth the visit to Luke’s.
CDC
Great locations, view is great. Lobster roll and steamed lobster was very good. Fried clams and clam chowder we ok at best.
Ariel Chang
We came to Maine on a foodie trip, needless to say we have had alll the lobster rolls in town and we have decided that Luke’s is *the* best all around! From the flavor, texture, presentation, service, view, and prices, and! The fact that Luke’s came recommended from the locals for their solution in balancing tourist and supporting local fishermen/lobstermen, we are in love with our experience here. Our server also was very knowledgeable and helpful in our questions about Maine and lobstering in general.
We got the trio with side salad and the lobster roll with added lobster on the side salad, we had such a great amazing feast (as you can see) of the best of everything!
HyannisFerryMan
Amazing lobstah 🦞simple as that. Having said that it was the best clam chowdah I’ve evah had, so many clams! Luke’s trio is a great way to enjoy lobstah 🦞 crab 🦀 and shrimp 🍤 All the produce is locally sourced and they have a blackboard by the entrance listing where everything’s from. Great text service to let you know when your table is ready. Extensive local beer 🍺 selection.
Deanna Livingston
Tried a lobster roll everywhere I could on our visit to Maine, and although they are all delicious, Luke's was the absolute best! The seasoning put it way above all others. My only regret is that I'm not eating one right now lol. My husband also loved the whole lobster 🦞 …
E B
Great spot with a nice view. Great lobster. Servers were super attentive. Definitely going back when we're in the area.
Brad Chaffee
I have celiac and I told them this and they were very aware of gluten allergies. The lobster was first rate as it comes right off the dock and sits in sea water until it gets cooked.
Erik Hrin
If you're in town... gotta do the Maine thing and get one of the best choooowwwddderrrsss and a few select suds to go with it. Absolutely excellent!
Garry Kolb
Great food and views. Lobster roll, crab roll, shrimp roll were all terrific. The haddock sandwich was amazing. The veggie burger got rave reviews. The lobster BLT was also fantastic.
John Frank
Superb service, great clams, lobster roll, and chowder.
Andy Martin
Service was fast and courtesy. Food was really good and prices were reasonable for the area. I was surprised how fast we were seated given it was prime lunchtime hours.
Mason Lugo
So likes has parking on the pier so you don’t have to park far. Excellent food and beer selection. Beautiful views! Definitely worth checking out
Peter Hunter
Nice place. The food was excellent. The staff was very nice. The manager shared some history about the restaurant.
Michael Simpkins
The place had a great view. Service was excellent. Food was so so. The lobster was boiled and potato salad was not very special.
Jared Golinvaux
We experienced our first lobster roll and it blew our minds. These folks are legit! Amazing views as well!
Doug W
So I did not have a full meal, had a couple beers (delicious) and the haddock bites they were incredible. Beautiful view from the deck, you really get a sense of Portland here.
Katie Golinvaux
My husband and I had never tried lobster rolls. We chose Luke's. Our minds were blown. 🤯 So. Good. …
Ying Liu
The pier view is good but the lobster is way overpriced compared to other restaurants. I had one steamed 1.5 pound lobster and it's 45 dollars!
Meredith Arguelles
We didn't eat here but checked out the menu and it was a little pricey, but the location, drink choices and the killer view, 2nd floor balcony made this a wonderful spot to hang out!
Tonya McNabb
Amazing views, menu & staff. I wish I could eat here every day! The seaweed burgers are AMAZING!!!!! Highly recommend!!!!
David T.
Tough to beat scenery.. very friendly staff.. fresh off the boat..(literally they were backing the lobster boat in whilst we were eating) lobster.. beautiful views.. this place rocks..
Brandon “Mr Brando” Hicks
When you walk in and the first thing you see is fresh lobster in tanks, you know it’s going to be good. The next time I’m in Portland, this will be my first stop. Everything was great!
Nahu Dimitri
Lobster roll was the best in my life... if I’m ever in Portland again, will be coming back! Customer service was good
Sharon Davidson
This place was amazing,,from out of town and haven't had class or lobster for awhile it was delicious will go again.
Cliff
Great fresh Lobster. Not a fan of Boston's style of Coleslaw, but was a common style at many restaurants I visited.
Adeline Sire
Beautiful space with floor to ceiling windows and decks overlooking the water. Lots of seafood restaurants have a cheesy quaint decor, but this one's is fresh and bright, with a great soundtrack. Warm welcome, very friendly staff. The fried haddock platter was delicious, with a light crispy crust, and the blueberry pie, from a local bakery, finished the meal nicely. Consider picking this lovely place over the enormous restaurant on the adjacent pier, you will not be disappointed.
Alan Grigsby
Spent a chilly afternoon on the patio. The apple cider and lobster bisque warmed us up. Was thrilled to see Luke's carried bread for a gluten-free lobster roll!
Dan Brown
Great bar setup, enjoyed the harbor views, people watching & cocktails. However, the lobster roll left something to be desired. Meat was dry and I didn’t care for the seasoning. There are better options (hint: keep driving north)
Cathy Cashman
What a wonderful place. It was our first time today and we couldn’t have been happier. The design is really inviting and well laid out. Food was fantastic. We had a large lobster roll, calamari and house salad. I would maybe recommend more salads even though what we had was delicious. Shout out to our waitress Kayla..she was crazy busy and attended to everyone fast, efficient and friendly. Thank you we will be back.
dArrick Tolliver
I flew from D.C. to Maine just for a lobster 🦞 roll. I found the perfect spot! It was totally worth it!
Bridget Patton
Excellent lobster rolls. We tried the tasting platter and all were delicious but classic roll won. Creative cocktails and nice atmosphere on the water. Our server Christian was great.
Antonio Lopez
The lobster grilled cheese sandwich was DELICIOUS! This restaurant has the best view and service too! 1000% rating!
Amy K
Absolutely amazing. This is probably the best lobster roll i have had in Maine. The lobster was so fresh and delicious, the bread was fresh, soft and flavorful. Im honestly so impressed. The views here are also amazing. Beautiful water view. I highly reccomended and will be back!!!
Gordie Dunn
Got shut out at another place and came here. It would impossible to be any better!!! Service was terrific, lobster, fish and scallops were great. We will definitely be back, and will be recommending Luke's to anyone that will listen. Special shout out to Christian for taking such good care of us.
Sarah D. Adams
Always our favorite summer spot in the Old Port. The deck is great, the food amazing, and we love that we can bring our puppo.
Vincent D
Cool place, nice staff, but tried the “trio” 1/2 lobster roll 1/2 crab and 1/2 shrimp.
I figured they would be normal sized 1/2 sandwiches, I was expecting something along the lines of a lobster roll and a 1/2, however they were about the size of a 1/2 hot dog roll and not full of meat. No fries, but comes with chips. Not very filling for $30. My friends fried haddock sandwich looked awesome and I’ll try that next time.
Philip Giarratana
Wonderful place to have my first lobster! Great atmosphere and wonderful food and service. Emily J is an amazing server that made my wife and I feel welcomed and well cared for.
Preston Cobb
Great view and reasonable prices. Really enjoyed it. Lobster was phenomenal
Graham
Great food and drink selection. We got a classic lobster roll and were not disappointed! Staff is knowledgeable and efficient, but like most places, they are a bit understaffed. This was not an issue at all for me, but it means you’ll need to be patient. Luke’s is worth the wait. The scenery here is amazing to boot. A must see for visitors!
Ellen Wilson
Best lobster options around! From the basic to seasonal favorites, you won't be disappointed.
Crystal rich
Best lobster roll. Great atmosphere. Top floor is beautiful.
Kasi Byrd
They De-Livered 😁. We got there short after it opened and sat outside right on the pier. The view alone is worth 5 stars. I ordered the whole lobster and clams and I was not disappointed. The claws were sweet and the tail was meaty 🦞 😁!!! I was satisfied with just the lobster and clams but it does come the 2 sides. Also the price I thought was VERY REASONABLE for the quality and amount of food. Of course MKT price so it varies but 1.5lb lobster with 2 sides(your choice) for $45 plus tax, $55 if you get the clams. I thought it was a great deal and that why I gave it 5 stars, I will be back !!!
S Patla
What an amazing experience! I have never had any kind of seafood before... So I decided to go for the lobster! It was absolutely delicious! Unfortunately I couldn't get myself to crack the shell or take it apart so the staff went out of there way too make me comfortable and basically did it for me. They prepared it "lazy". What a wonderful place with exceptional staff!!!
Priscila Krischer
What an awesome meal!! This was the intro to our week in Maine and it did not disappoint. Everything was well made and the lobster was amazing. Definitely coming back here when we’re in Portland again.
Pauline Francey
We stop at Luke's Lobster whenever we visit Portland Maine in the Old Port district. The food is good and the staff is always friendly.
J. Thompson
The food was okay. The clams were well seasoned but came out barely warm. The mussels were bland and lacked seasoning. Our server was absent minded and rarely checked with us.
Hana Thurkauf
Fantastic place to dine if ever in the Portland area! Seafood was light and delicious. Atmosphere was fantastic with lots of views of outdoors! Indoor and Outdoor seating was available as well!
Erik Anderson
We walked in with 12 people without a reservation at lunchtime. They quickly accommodated the large group with very little wait. The server was fantastic. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. The atmosphere and experience was fantastic.
Serena Marchionni
Great lobster rolls and great view on the harbor!
Eddie
Very good. Beautiful view!
Liz at the upstairs bar is a superstar. Give her a raise!
Steven Mann
Service was great. Didn’t care too much for the lobster bisque. Didn’t have but one small piece of lobster in it. Nothing like J’s oyster pub with that one.
Ecowood Floors Inc.
Wonderful sea 🌊 foods 🥘 Excellent draft beer choices 🍺 Fantastic prompt services. 😊🤣😂😝🙌😝😂🤣😊 …

Over the years I had Luke’s lobster so many times - but in NYC. It is a very popular place among the locals and the tourists there (they have several locations now!). When we came to Portland, I found out that their flagship restaurant is here, and we decided to visit it. It didn’t disappoint! We had a whole steamed lobster and a broiled haddock. Both came with 2 sides. Both entrees were really good. The lobster was fresh and cooked to the perfect temperature, and was served with butter. I don’t get to eat haddock a lot as it is not common on NYC restaurants’ menu, so I really enjoyed it at Luke’s in Portland . We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the veggies in our salad, which were locally produced (we found out that later) - fresh and juicy. Our drinks were great as well - we had Freezer Black Manhattan (yum!) and the lemon of pink (refreshing). Our waitress was super nice and helpful. They have inside and outside seating area which makes the restaurant even greater for any weather. I definitely look forward to coming back here again as well as to NYC location.
Mike D
Might be top lobster roll in Maine... Service was fantastic. Prices high, but that's Portland.
James Schmidt
I am not a fan of lobster. However, everything that was offered was well prepared including the side dishes.
The view of the water is probably as good as it gets.
Irfan Ali Hyder
My wife & I, my daughter & son-in-law, thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Luke's. Fantastic sea-food! Lobster, crab, shrimp, haddock. We loved it all. Not to forget the delicious clam chowder!
Rich Ledson
Friendly staff and fresh lobsters!!! My Luke's in New York City is great but the one here on the pier in Portland is incredible!
Willie Murray
Ordered Scallops and fries to was delicious. Place looked nice and service was fast. Will go again
Cortnee C.
Lobster was amazing! Drinks paired great and food was delcious
Kareen Caberte - Wayan
Love the ambiance of the place. It is spacious. My husband ordered the Luke’s trio and he loved it but he thinks the serving is a little bit small for the price. I ordered the fried scallops and I loved it. 😋
Stephanie Phillips
The lobster bisque and clam chowder were great! I also enjoyed the mussels! Great friendly service and great views!
Thomas M
A great sea food experience right on the bay. Lobster men emptying their lobster holds feet away. The restaurant staff was professional, friendly and accommodating but not intrusive.
K Schjaerve
Rotating lobster roll was tasty and well executed. Waitress was well informed and friendly. And the view of course, was lovely
Jay Allen
Best lobster roll so far in portland :)
Friendly staff. Nice views. A decent selection on tap.
Brock N
The spicy lobster roll is fantastic! Splurge for the 6oz portion- it's well worth it for the amount of claw meat that comes in it.
Barbara Smith
The food was delicious and our service was fantastic! Rebecca was great and we really enjoyed our visit!
Tony Cyr
Really good food it’s my very first time coming to Luke’s lobster highly recommend
Gary Allen
Great food and service. We enjoyed the view. Watch for seals from your table...
Andrea Boiani
Even tho it’s only 26 degrees… we totally enjoyed our dinner, on the end of the pier, watching the boats come in. we had the great mussels and the best ever fried clams, the waitress said the use rice flour. I’ve been eating fried whole belly clams my entire life, these quite possibly are the best!!!
Connor Shane
Fantastic lobster restaurant at the end of the wharf. The lobster mac was very filling but it was amazing. Incredible service as well with great views.
ryan russell
Great seafood with water views. They even had gluten-free options for my wife.
Al Giles
Awesome lunch stop! Loved dining on the pier!! Nice greeters, wait staff, selection & portions! Highly recommend -- dog friendly, too!
Gwyn Klamer
The service was friendly and quick! The food was also amazing!! The restaurant also has great views of the water!
Susan Monroe
Great spot overlooking the water! The food was out of this world and the staff was very kind and attentive. Kiddo friendly and we would definitely hit this place up again when we come back to visit.
MaSoN jAR
Felt overpriced for the quality received. The clams were ok but way too sandy even after rinsing them. The rolls were good. Don't expect them warm though. The best dish i felt was the Luke's Trio. The view was worth the visit. The service was alright.
Cory Jones
Lukes lobster were really good with some reasonable prices a fiance had the bacon BLT lobster and she loved it
Frederick Peter Paul
It's a great place to eat for the whole family. I called in for a reservation and our table was ready when we arrived. Whoever lobster in the shell is awesome. Serves was excellent. I hope you enjoy it too.
Patrick Ampomah
Very efficient staff and great sea food options.
David Fuller
We eat here on a recent day trip to Portland. We sat on the deck overlooking the harbor. Great views saw some seals and loons. Waiter was great, very attentive and very helpful in deciding. Food was brought out quickly and order was exactly as we asked. All the staff was wearing masks. Food was delicious and prices were very competitive. Will come here again.
Marion Canon
We went twice to this location in less than 24 hours! The lobster rolls are to die for, you have a lot of lobster meat and the flavours really highlight the lobster. Everything is local so that’s a big win for me. The service is very welcoming and friendly, location is perfect, with view over the port so you can enjoy the fishermen’s boats coming back or even some seals!
Alex Spiva
Luke's Lobster is a go-to place for me! The lobster BLT is the perfect sandwich and I dream about the clam steamers while I'm away. I have always had an excellent experience here since the staff is friendly and the food is delicious.
Kimberly Theriault
Had lunch on a Sunday afternoon on the outside deck. Food 7.5 /10 for taste. Lobster bisque was our favorite, Cocktails were 9/10. Great atmosphere and views. Server was somewhat absent after food was served.
But other than that a great experience.
Sarah Thurston (Sarah_Smashville)
Phenomenal. You can eat outside or inside. Currently not taking reservations, only walk-ins.
J S
Best lobster roll I have ever eaten! So full of flavor. Salad was tasty and fresh. No wait as we sat at the bar upstairs. Fun place with an amazing view and great drinks.
Emma Chavez (Em)
Today was my husband and my second go at Luke’s. And all I can say is wow. This is by far the best restaurant in Portland. Our first trip here blew us away with the AMAZING lobster. The second was even better. After a few misses with other restaurants it was nice to come back to one that keeps giving! If I could give 10 stars I would. I highly recommend going here. :)
Josh Kass
The Lobster roll is legit! I'm not a New Englander, so when I visit I try to find the best Lobstah I can and I got to say, if your a lobster roll fan, this is it! I got the 6oz Lobstah roll with light mayo, and coleslaw and it was delicious! Couple that with a great view, plenty of seating, and nice lunch atmosphere and it's a winner. Wll definitely be back!
Bryan Reeder
I had the trio of rolls and they were really good. Of course the lobster roll was the best. I also had clam chowder and it was ok. My wife started out with the lobster chowder. She said it was really good. She wasn't a big fan of the fried haddock sandwich though. Kind of a soggy fish. Of course when live along the Ohio River you get used to eating catfish.
Marissa Massa
I've had Luke's before back in NY and was pleasantly surprised to see them in Portland now! Their menu is a lot larger then the UES spot I'm used to :)
They have the best views/location on the water of any of the restaurants for sure.
The lobster rolls were tasty, I tried the truffle butter one and my husband had the hot honey!
Small but cozy outside lower and upper decks - lower having firepits for those breezy nights.
Daniel Ochoa
Ordered the 1.5 lb lobster. Hands down the best tasting lobster my wife has ever tasted anywhere. She said it was the best meal on our trip to Portland. I stick to meat so ordered some simple chicken nuggets. No complaints there. Great view. Highly recommend the restaurant.
Valerie Nahorney
The food was good, but not a good value for the price. For example, the fried clams app, at $25, was kinda small.
Allera B
Good food , great location next to the water at the heart of Old Town Portland. Tried all their seafood rolls - they were all excellenté 😉 Staff is friendly and efficient.
Eric W
Luke's was recommended to us by a street vendor on Commercial St. We took the suggestion and did not regret it at all. Even on a Wednesday at 2:30 there was an hour long wait but we just took a walk and waited for the text to let us know the table was ready. Great idea by the way.
Sat on the back deck and we had the lobster BLT and a cold beer. BLT was outstanding! The fries and coleslaw were just as tasty.
Great atmosphere too. Definitely recommend Luke's
Ben Moore
Truffle butter lobster roll and new england clam chowder. Wow so good.
Jessa Ortiz
Hot dang the best lobster BLT I've ever had!!!! This place is outstanding, great food, location, and nice staff.
Jim Mascarello
Fantastic! Lobster was reasonably priced and terrific. Recommend by Ross the guide on the history tour.
Mike Barboza
Stopped in for a Lobster roll and soup, both we very good. Roll was moist and tasted great as did the bisque. Staff was friendly and service was quick.
Bill R
Awesome spot by the water, fresh fish and attentive staff. Because of my broken arm, they were kind enough to crack and peel the lobster, total baller move!
N P
Delicious. Beautiful spot on the water. Lobster roll, mussels and fries were amazing. Definitely recommend! Deck and patio to have drinks or eat.
Christian Tecca
Great service, great food, great drinks. We were a party of 8 for lunch. Lobster rolls were perfect. Too many places add too much mayo and spices. This one, minimal mayo and spices enable the lobster 🦞 flavor to shine. Yes!!! …
Steven Song
Best Lobster Roll in Portland! Great place for a families with young kids with comfortable seating but also a great place for young couples. Best $ value in Portland, for sure.
Moh ďev Roseram
Best food an drinks, Luke's is the place to come to once your in Portland.... also the best customer service 👌.. im be coming here more often..🥰🥰 …
Sashie La
Beautiful view, attentive server, all 5 meals served within stated time given attendance was full to capacity on Sunday, plenty of sunlight, located on the large wharf.
Harry Red
I don't know about the food but everything else was good. We didn't eat there.
Jennifer Robinson
Maine style lobster roll was excellent, plenty of meat on the roll! Outside has great seating with a great view. Just beware of the seagulls!
Stacey Dowd
Great view and a lobster bisque that actually had lobster in it. Wait wasn't awful and the view was great.
Jason Duncan
Hands down the best lobster roll I've had on my trip, 4 different ones in Bar Harbor and that can't touch Lukes!
Kevin Wanamaker
Great food and excellent service. Gluten free options available and our server was very knowledgeable. We had GF lobster rolls which were fantastic.
Updating this review after a full week in Maine. We traveled up the coast to Bar Harbor and back and down and tried just about every gluten free Lobster Roll we could find along the way. Hands down the GF Lobster Rolls at Luke's were the absolute best of the trip. Thank you Luke's!
Nicholas Estes
This is my favorite spot for lobster in Portland. Great views of the water, and friendly staff to go along with some of the best food in Old Port. I would highly recommend the classic lobster roll and finish it off with a slice of blueberry pie!
Maury Childs
Management & staff are Outstanding and good food... Awesome views....
Amanda Hogan
I love the kelp buttermilk ranch!! Drinks are awesome and so is the staff.
J C
Fantastic! Great Food and Jennifer our server was super awesome. The Lobster Roll was fat, delicious and flavorful. The location was perfect watching the boats and sitting on the outside patio. All four of us ate every single morsel on our plates. Amazing!
Andrew Zoller
Great experience for a whole lobster! The clam chowder is excellent as well. Good vibe and good views of the harbor!
Josh DeBerry
Very fresh and delicious, with great local beers on tap. Add in a beautiful view of the water and what’s not to love? If you’re not sure what to get, definitely try the Luke’s Trio!
JD
if your in Portland Maine this is a must place to go eat. Staff is wonderful, kind and helpful. Food was awesome and the view? Oh my breathtaking!!
Tyler Grambow
Very good lobster rolls and cocktails. I like when there’s a little more mayo on the lobster rolls and that’s what they do. Server was great for my friend group.
Linda Smith
Really enjoyed the large lobster roll and lobster bisque today! Delicious! My husband got the halibut platter. HIGHLY recommend all three. Our waitress, Leah, was delightful. Great job folks! Can we get a location in Georgia? Go DAWGS!
tancy mcelfresh
I'm from Ohio. I thought I had tasted good lobster, NO I HADNT, but thanks to Luke's, I have now. Absolutely delicious
Oscar
Brought the girlfriend here. She loved the lobster roll. Everything tastes very fresh. The drinks are amazing too. The bartender on the second floor was very courteous. Highly recommend
Lucky Clover Tour
Good restaurant, great location, steam loberster, fried haddock,
Alex Helfer
Happened upon Luke’s while walking on Commercial- had a 20 min wait for lunch and we sat outside with our dog on the back deck- servers were fantastic- lovely and efficient - very dog friendly as well. The Haddock bites were fresh and not overly fried, lobster BLT was delicious as well as the lobster roll my husband got- lovely lunch spot right on the water with fresh food and great service
Kathryn Wheeler
We tried MANY lobster rolls while in Maine, and Luke’s was by far the best!!
Sarah Boren
Everything was amazing!! We had the clam chowder, steamed clams and lobster. They said the lobster was a pound and a half but it seemed even bigger. It was cooked to perfection and so fresh, I think it winked at me.
Our server, Emily, was great. Her timing on everything was impeccable. We wanted for nothing.
Even the hostess was great, very sweet.
We loved the setting, and being on the water was nice too.
This was our first time in Portland and really lucked out finding this place!
Jason Trease
Everything I’ve eaten here was very good! Friendly service and great location on the water! Please be aware that the lobster meat they use is frozen though!
Scott Emerling
My wife and I spent five days in Portland. We ate at three different seafood restaurants. One was way overpriced but Luke's had the same quality food for half the price! The Lobster and scallops were delicious. They have a really nice view of the water too. I would recommend Luke's if you only had one restaurant to pick.
Paul Meicke
Came here for dinner with my wife and we both said it was great. Staff was extremely good and friendly and the food was everything we hoped it would be.
Sean Murphy
Our 12 year-old was looking for a place to have a lobster dinner while in Maine, and I truly believe that we found the perfect spot! The menu is straightforward and delicious (lots of locally sourced lobster!), the service is fast and friendly, and the setting is unbeatable. You have beautiful views of Portland Harbor from every table in the restaurant. They also have outdoor seating that, if it wasn't so cold, we would have asked to sit at. Our 12 year-old and 10 year-old chose to share the Steamed Shore Dinner (1.5 lb steamed whole lobster, 1/2 lb steamed clams + sides), and the server was so helpful in teaching them how to eat their first Maine lobster (and what to do with the tomalley). They have a great beer selection as well! Although we only spent an afternoon in Portland, the dining experience and the food at Luke's Lobster Portland Pier were a highlight of our trip to Maine. Highly recommend!
Jolene Schuessler
The lobster dining experience we were hoping to find during our trip to Maine. Excellent service, atmosphere, and views. The lobster was great and the potato salad was delicious.
Lisa Dietterich
Everything about this place screams hospitality and tourism. Stephanie at the bar was absolutely amazing! Kevin hooked us up with hoodies! Did I mention how amazing Stephanie was? She gladly accepted us at the bar (9 top) with open arms. Food was amazing and quick! Thank you so much staff!
philip ptacin
My wife and I and another couple were at Luke’s for dinner on May 23rd, 2021.
The environment is great. We were upstairs and the view of the ocean was beautiful.
We all thought the food was excellent.
Our service was not good, however.
Our server wasn’t pleasant nor was she attentive.
When we were given the bill, tho she knew we were two couples, we were given one bill.
We decided to simply split the bill.
When our server returned with our credit cards, and the bill - now split in half - half the total bill for each couple - the suggested tips were calculated for the total bill, instead of half the bill. Initially, not noticing this, we were tipping close to 40% instead of about 20%.
This seemed quite deceptive and was disappointing,
Tram Nguyen
Quite pricey but super NICE view! Great steamed lobster and lobster roll. Definitely will come back!
Michael Rubin
Excellent buttery lobster rolls with a little mayo on the bottom lobster rolls. Tão sizes available - 4 and 6 oz. Great vantage point on the end of the wharf.
Brandy Smith
Amazing food and customer service! We had the lobster corn chowder, haddock bites, and the blt lobster 🦞 sandwich. Literally enjoyed every bite. Highly recommend this place…get there early-the wait can be long. …
Felisha Shakeer
The food here is amazing! We had the trio rolls, fried haddock and a blueberry mojito and it was excellent - would recommend this place to anyone 🙌 …
Lian Barry
Awesome place for seafood in Portland. They let us have our dog with us in the outdoor seating area (which also has the best view). The spicy honey lobster roll is great; it's a refreshing take if you've tried all the local lobster rolls on offer.
Allen Rabe
Fantastic lobster rolls and fried clams. We were told a 35 minute turned out to be 8 minutes
Amy Nelson
Excellent fried clams, baked haddock, and sides! Would return for the Blueberry Mojito too!!
Patricia S
I'm conflicted about this establishment. Pros: On one hand I was very excited about the gluten free bread option for rolls(ie: hoagies) which were very good. Anybody that is gluten free knows how hard it is to get good gluten free bread. The seafood was fresh and not overcooked. The view was great. Staff was good. Allagash white beer very good, Maine root beer best root beer I've had. I liked the Trio entree that was a sampling of lobster crab and shrimp.
Cons: prices were high but I'm from Pittsburgh and the prices might be reasonable for the area. I don't understand the fascination with COLD lobster and crab meat. Room temp or warm would taste better to me. I think it's a local thing to not season the fresh seafood much to let the flavor speak for itself but I personally felt it was all underseasoned and so did my whole family. We thought a bit more mayo (or spicy mayo?) and something acidic like more lemon or vinegar plus a touch of old bay would've gone a long way.
Coming from Pittsburgh where seafood is typically overcooked over seasoned and fried it is the definite improvement! And the gluten free options were a plus.
Dan Tomso
Sustainable fish restaurant with water views. Particularly nice job on the salads we had.
Albert Gnadt
Great patio. A seagull patiently waited, then scooped part of some poor lady's lobster roll (which they of course replaced). Dinner AND a show!
Peter Gralike
A1 service and the lobster rolls were the best I’ve had.
Kari Ann Haskell
We arrived mid evening and sat outside. They had heat lamps to help with the chill. Our server was a delight but I wish I could say the same about the food. Rather bland fried haddock with no seasoning though provided tarter sauce helped tremendously. Steamed lobster was good. Menus should provide abv! Service was great the food just didn't do it for us. Maine mule was tasty. Lobster bisque was good. Overall our meal topped out at $100 and we left feeling unsatisfied.
Andrew Westbrook
Simple Maine seafood well prepared. Very good service. They have a kids menu.
Jerrod Perry
Service was great, food and bev were tasty. A bit pricey but it's a seafood restaurant on the water so it's to be expected. The interior was really cute (done up for the holidays). Would go back.
Larissa cooper
Great view, food, and service! Can not go wrong having either a meal or just a drink here.
Gonzalo Rosadilla
We tried the lobster roll in some places along new England. The best by far, Lukes . Super friendly and awesome view
Charles Long
Totally awesome experience. Food and customer service is awesome. Plan to let the folks in Georgia know.
Bethany Dickerson
This restaurant was AMAZING! The building and the view are both gorgeous. We got to watch the seals swim around while we eat the most delicious lobster we've ever had. The servers were very friendly and answered all our questions. We will definitely be back!
Kevin Sassaman
Nice view of the bay and excellent lobster and sea food.
jeff e
First time visiting old port. We tried numerous lobster rolls from many places here and by far Luke's takes the cake. The suttle spices and mayo compensates the main attraction LOBSTER exceptionally well.
Don't pass this gem up and give them a try.
Thank you for a great experience from the time we walked in until the time we walked out. We will definitely be back!
Fergus mcgeehan
This place is fantastic! Awesome location. Awesome drinks and the absolute best lobster roll I've ever had hands down. We sat outside on the deck in a snowstorm right by the ocean and it's a memory me and my wife will never forget!
Todd Coons
I'm from the greater Portland area and have eaten at many of the restaurants in Portland this was my first time at Luke's
My wife and I gave it a try for lunch today.
I ordered the crab dip for an app, Luke's Trio for main meal. My wife had the fried haddock sandwich.
So to start the service was slow. We ordered and the app came out but we had not utensils or side plates. I flagged another waiter down as our waitress was no where to be seen
The app was not real hot and honestly way to creamy and cheesey. I wouldn't order it again
My wife's lunch was great. The sandwich and fries were over the top but the coleslaw was nasty.
My trio was OK at best. For some strange reason they put a seasoning on the top, like celery salt and really shouldn't be on the sandwiches as it seriously detracted from the flavor of the crab, lobster and shrimp
We might try it again another day but this trip was disappointing
Really. Your reply is the seasoning is Luke's Special seasoning. Maybe you should warn people that you put a "Special Season" on perfectly hood seafood.
Awex Fwex
Beautiful bar upstairs, great balcony for an afternoon beer on the harbor. Friendly staff, good beers on tap
Matthew Thornton
For the purest, they cook their seafood without a ton of extras. If you want scallops but not drowned in butter go here. Three of us ate for just over $120. I'll be back in the spring!
Solomon
Great location down on the Harbor. Many places offer lobsta rolls but not right on the water which is why we chose this place. Have the lobsters right when you walk in I def Enjoyed nice local beers with the view as well.
Jessica Hale
Great lobster roll. Peach margaritas were very good as well. Would visit again.
William Westbrook
Great patio overlooking the water. Friendly and attentive staff. Great drink selection. Large food portions at a decent price. Overall the best lobster roll experience of the places we tried while in Portland! Would highly recommend!!!
Tom Pratt
The BEST lobster roll I’ve ever had and I’ve lived in Maine my whole life and have had many lobster rolls. Called in an order for two rolls and some fries and within 15 minutes they brought it right out to the car. IT WAS SO GOOD. Fries were bomb too.
Xiomara C Rodriguez
Excellent restaurant. We were served by Jennifer and her Service was outstanding. Very dog friendly, gorgeous view of the pier and the food tasted amazing. My fave when I am in Portland.
Mandy Kaur
So fresh and tasty, you will not be disappointed! The location is spectacular. Highly recommend.
Harsh Goyal
Really liked their serving of lobster with three different flavor. Lobster was fresh and flavorful. And we went there before season starts.
Jordan Marshall
Ahhmazing lobster rolls. Flavor is incredibly fresh and meaty. Go for the 6oz. roll! Best I’ve had so far in Maine and New Hampshire
Robert Kalinowski
I honestly think the crab roll was better than the lobster roll but everything I had here was pretty great
Chena Immel
i can't say enough good things about luke's...beyond the great food, it's such a fantastic group of people! the owners, the chefs, the catering manager, all the staff -- i don't think i've ever had such a genuine, personal experience with everyone at a restaurant...they care about where their products are sourced and who they're supporting as well as truly taking care of their customers (we had a pretty huge office party, and they could not have been more accommodating to the special needs of our attendees)...this was my first time here, and i'm already excited to become a regular! i love finding local establishments like this that i can feel so good about supporting...can't wait to see you all again soon - thanks for the excellent night!

Nice Portland, Maine restaurant with on the water seating options.
Service is a little slow due to everything being cooked to order. The waitstaff is all female and friendly.
Easy to find on Commercial St.,
Parking is a bit tricky, as there is paid parking throughout Portland.

As always the food and atmosphere was amazing. Very friendly, fast excellent service staff and management/ owner!

I was a little sceptical of this place since it's right in the middle of the heavily touristed part of the city, but WOW! The food was so good and the portions bigger than I was expecting. Definitely worth the trip.

Fantastic food with a great location of the Harbor. I recommend you sit upstairs for the best view of the harbor.

I’ve been to Luke’s at least once a week for lunch since they opened. (Summer 2019)
I love their haddock bites, the fried whole belly clams, the lobster rolls, the crab rolls, and the shrimp rolls. Everything that I have ordered here is great!
The staff is fast and friendly, and the whole vibe of the joint is wonderful.
Probably going to miss this place the most of all Portland when my trip is over...

My boyfriend and I had the lobster bisque, a lobster roll and a steamed lobster. I feel the lobster roll is smaller than the ones we had in other places. The steamed lobster is very fresh and high quality. However, opening the lobster was a disaster. The shell was so hard; my hand hurt after trying to open the lobster with the cracker. Even my boyfriend gave up cracking. It would be nice if the restaurant could break the shell a little bit before serving to the customers. The old lady who sat next to us borrowed a big kitchen knife to hammer the lobster:)

The best lobster roll in all of Portland. We arrived and got recommendations at the airport for lunch and this is where we decided. The best decision of our entire trip! The views are wonderful and you can see the port while enjoying fresh food and great service.

Extraordinary. Nice honest food, great location, friendly service, wonderful view. For our short stay in Portland, we couldn’t have find a better place for lunch. We even spotted Sealy Dan, the local seal.

This is PORTLANDS best kept waterfront secret. Barely any advertising and not a tourist trap. Best steamed clams in the state. Mussels were great. Homemade OUTSTANDING tarter sauce. Shauntell, our server, was pleasant and on point. This place is definitely a hidden treasure.

Great lunch right on the bay in Portland. Sencond floor room was nice and bright and had a balcony that overlooks the water. The best lobster roll I had in Portland (though I haven't had them all)
Rita Renken
Loved the lobster roll and lobster bisque. Very friendly staff!

Great food. We had a delicious lobster bisque and a 2.5lb steamed lobster. All was really fresh and well executed. The hostesses were not friendly, but service at the table was really good. Great selection of local draft beers.

What a cute spot! The lobster dinner was delicious and fairly priced. Comes with generous portions of the sides, which were very tasty. Lobster was cooked to perfection. Gorgeous decor and a beautiful view. We will definitely be back!

A drunk couple in a sandwich shop at 11PM reccomend this place. Best food we had all trip.

I know with COVID staff is a little short but waited at the door for almost 10 mins before anyone greeted me, then another 10 mins while my waiter served other people just to get asked my drink order. Service was ok at best. Felt like I was in inconveniencing the staff. Food came out quick, lobster roll was decent not sure if it is worth a the reviews. (FYI born and raised in Maine so I know what a good lobster roll tastes like). J's is my favorite sad they are closed! The service there is much more friendly and attentive. Probably won't return.

Best lunch place in Portland. Good food, amazing location, friendly staff. What more could you want?

Absolutely amazing! I had the steamers and lobster dinner. Best I have ever had. Being on the wharf with views of the water is really the cherry on top!

Beautiful views from the up stair bar.
Great bar tender, welcoming, told funny stories about Rum and Nelson. He was on point with our drinks when needed.
The food, sorry not impressed.
My crab roll was tasteless and my chips slightly stale, pickle was good!
My husband chowder, again tasteless.
We will go again for the view and bartender, but not the food.
Brad Lammers
Great food, awesome service. Sit outside if you can! Lobstah!

Wonderful location. We didn’t mind the long wait time on a holiday weekend because we were able to enjoy the bar upstairs with a waterfront view. The fresh lobster was excellent and the service was great. Once we sat down it didn’t take long for the food to come out.

Incredible food, fast and friendly service, great ocean views!

Henry is amazing. We didn't get a server for about 10 mins. Henry was making drinks and I noticed him looking at our table. As soon as he was done he hurried over and took our drink orders. When he brought the drinks he asked us if we were ready to order our food.
One member of our group only speaks spanish. To my surprise he starts speaking to that person and takes their order! Henry is amazing at what he does. His drinks are awesome and he is a cool dude. I don't know what you're paying him here but he needs a raise for sure.
We came from Wisconsin, a 20 hour drive, for Maine lobster and this place did not disappoint. The energy in the building was amazing and they also have outdoor dining space over looking the ocean.
11/10 stars for sure!
PS: pay Henry more

The food, service and view were great.

We just had lunch at Luke’s it was quite pricey for what you got . Had the fried clams that was a mistake they were old and chewy. They don’t really give you much for your money and they only have two choices of salad dressing. They really need to add more. They give you a mini wine glass of wine for nine dollars and that was the cheapest wine. Lunch wasn’t worth $80 for what we got. Our waitress was very nice the view was great they’ve only been there three weeks so hopefully they will improve.

Great lobster roll! Great service and views along the waterfront.
Nicholas Corcoran
Love this place. Even of a foggy day the view is great. The local beer selection was good for the time of year especially the allagash, and we got the lobster, and one of each of the rolls which were all great.
