Reviews of Lechon
Ashley
This is by far one of the best South American restaurants I have ever been to. The food was absolutely delicious and flavorful. There was nothing from the drinks through the dessert that we did not love. The ingredients are also super fresh too (which is a must when ordering anything with shellfish or veggies)! We ordered several dishes and they all came out pretty fast. All the staff here are super friendly and very attentive. Our waiter, Dylan, was such a gem and made the overall experience delightful. If you are ever in the Portland area, this restaurant is a MUST to try. Trust me, you will not regret it!!!

Lechon was one of my first indoor, sit-down dining experiences since the pandemic era began - I had forgotten how good cocktails and shared appetizers could be.
The happy hour menu was spectacular - our group ordered a little bit of just about everything and I couldn't have been happier.
Service was friendly, efficient, and professional - again, something I hadn't realized how much I missed it during years of exile from the restaurant experience.
Rather than focus on any particular item, I'm happy to recommend the entire happy hour menu for anyone looking to return to downtown.

Great little place across from a park on the waterfront. The staff is attentive and the food fantastic. Super flavorful as Peruvian food usually is, we sampled across the menu and were not disappointed.
Beware, the portion sizes range from actual tapas to "serves 5-6 comfortably."

Amazing from start to finish. The staff are very friendly and kind. We had very good service that was fast and coursed out our dishes in a perfect manner. Food was plated nicely and was delicious. Everything we had was cooked perfectly and our drinks were tasty. Love the live jelly fish behind the bar and the other large fish tank. Over all ambiance and vibe were very chill. I will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu. I definitely recommend this place. We came for our anniversary and left very happy. So Amazing.

This restaurant is an experience. The general vibe is bustling and full of energy with a view directly into the kitchen, if you can pull your eyes away from the two very large aquariums. The food is plated beautifully and with so many tapas to choose from it’s a great place to bring friends and share as many different things as you can! But don’t skip the main dishes. That Peruvian chicken is a star! They do non alcoholic mixed drinks that are very tasty, if you’re not the drinking type but still want a cocktail experience.

Really cool place in Downtown Portland. Great ambiance, the music 🎶 is fantastic. The food is very unique and balanced. I had the grilled octopus 🐙 and it was really tasty. In general this place is great. Great prices too. Customer service is a plus +++ …

Enjoyed our experience a lot at Lechon! The service was really good throughout and the dishes came out in good intervals. We were celebrating a birthday and they provided dessert on the house which was a nice gesture :)

Hands down one of the best restaurants that I’ve ever been to. I can’t say how amazing the food tasted. We had to wait 45 minutes to get in but it was so worth it. Peruvian fried chicken was my favorite and I recommend Burrata. Our waitress was lovely. I will definitely go back again.

Lechon is an incredible restaurant. We visited on a Friday evening, so it was really crowded. We had a reservation so we still got seated in a timely manner. The restaurant was very crowded, so it took a while for our server to get around to us, but after we ordered the food came very fast. We ordered a salad, a flat iron steak entrée and dessert. Every segment of our meal was incredible. The salad was very creative and well fused with numerous elements, the entrée was well plated and had amazing flavor. The dessert was outstanding. This was an amazing dining experience, with great service in an amazing atmosphere.

We booked a table a week ago and tried 5 tapas in Lechon. Our favorites were grilled octopus and brussels sprouts. The bone marrow was good but the bread with it was over burnt with charcoal on them. Overall we love the restaurant, the ambiance was good for friends hanging out and dates, staff are chill and welcoming. The food mostly live up to the hype.

Yum. Great food and drinks. Love the al fresco section. We had a reservation and judging from how busy it was on a Wednesday happy hour, it’s a must. They serve food when ready, and you’ll have eaten way more than planned before realizing it. Food’s so good!

Great for dates. HAPPY hour is nice. Please see my pics. Vegetarian options is ample for happy hour and regular dine in. Cocktails are decent 👌 Server during my last vist wasn't great, they were kind of ignorant but past visits were wonderful. I would visit again. Recommend.

Lechon is one of the best restaurants I've been to in a very long time! Their tapas menu is very diverse and offers many different options for all preferences. The staff is incredibly kind and the atmosphere is very welcoming and comfortable. I will definitely be returning. Highly recommend the grilled octopus and foraged mushrooms 🤤

Never realized this place was in Portland until invited me out to dinner. It's in waterfront near some camps so please do be careful of your belongings in your cars.
The food was absolutely amazing. I had to so much meat it was absolutely insane I didn't burst. But I was so hungry that it didn't even matter. The meats were cooked to the right temperatures. It was so great. I would totally recommend. They also have a jelly fish tank!
Liz Falconer
Superb atmosphere, food, and service! We tried a variety of tapas and drinks, and each one was beautifully crafted and delicious. Excellent presentation! So glad we discovered this place!

Great south american tapas. There a few star dishes like the octopus and the scallops. Staff are incredibly friendly and are attentive at the right times.

Such a cool restaurant on all levels. Nice decor, great menu options, and fantastic flavors. Naturally, I forgot to take photos. We went for happy hour and got five dishes and a few cocktails and everything was just amazing. My favorite was the fried chicken (the basil sauce is out of this world), but the shrimp ceviche was a close second. We went to celebrate my birthday, and we got a nice dessert and a hand-written card. This made it really special. I will definitely go back next time I’m in Portland.

We were leaving Downtown Portland to start our commute home and we were having the familiar "I don't want to cook ...where should we go?" discussion when LeChon popped into my head.
I had been there once P.C. (Pre Covid) and she had never been. For a sunny but chilly Wednesday in April it was surprisingly busy ... but we were lucky enough to get seated right away.
The number of attentive and super friendly staff was one of the first things we noticed. They were busy but there was a lot of genuine smiles and banter both front of house and in the open-view kitchen.
We ordered a couple starters, drinks (happy to see their Non-alcoholic options are varied) and two entrees.
The food was absolutely delicious. Well balanced, colorful and well proportioned. I had the scallops which were seared to perfection ... which is sadly seldom the case because the timing has to be perfect. Their timing was for my dish!
We finished by splitting a yummy and delicate dessert. Our total for the two of us was $100. Add 20 percent gratuity for the wonderful service and LeChon goes into the "Special Occasion" category for us ... But we are very much looking forward to our next special occasion spent there!
Worth it! Check it out!

We had a large party and the servers handled all our orders and add-ons flawlessly! We tried most of the tapas and appetizers, and some entrees and desserts, all were all very tasty! I especially loved the short rib steam buns, pork skewers, and duck wings. The cocktails were innovative and kept us excited to order more. Thanks LeChon!

Went here for a birthday dinner, they gave me a handwritten card. Food was great and service was friendly, timely. They've pulled in some recognizable drinks or food from South American cuisine and fine tuned them for an elevated experience.
Had the foraged mushrooms, tasted like a breakfast sandwich, flavorful. Would definitely order again.
The Gaucho bread was good, came out quickly. I love bread, but I may skip next time. It's salty and slightly smoked and crisp from grill marks, but I guess I've just been eating bread with more base flavor recently.
The octopus was one of the better ones of memory. The small bits of potatoe and chorizo with the applesauce brought good balance to the dish. Little salt and sweet that didn't star, but had reason for being on the plate. Maybe a hint of chewiness in some pieces, but overall well cooked and flavorful dish.
The dessert was a lava cake that looked dry, but did indeed have molten chocolate stream out when cut into and that's what it's all about. It was paired with hazelnut ice cream, which made me wonder why it wasn't a more common pairing to the usual vanilla ice cream. Don't get me wrong, I love a good vanilla bean ice-cream, but the hazelnut with small bits of crunch just seemed the right choice.
I should have been more adventurous on my drink choice and I maybe expected a little more for a birthday dinner, but at least the birthday was acknowledged and the drink was fine.
With restaurants and the pandemic, I hope this one sticks around for my next trip to Portland whenever that may be, as this one is a good one.

Lechon was an absolutely delicious restaurant. I’ve never experienced combinations of flavors quite like this. We had vegetable ceviche, short rib buns, corn fritters, Elote, fried olives, octopus, and brisket empanadas. It I haaad to pick a favorite, it would be the corn fritters and brisket empanadas, but it was all amazing.
The cocktails were flavorful and unique as well. I recommend the Old Fashioned Bar where you can pick your own liquor, sugar, and bitters.
Overall, the price point was awesome, and I would highly consider traveling back to Portland just to eat at Lechon again.
Ryan Ghan
We dined here at night and tried a variety of their Tapas. I think the brisket empanadas were hands down the best plate we ordered. We also thought lomo Saltado was amazing, the coconut rice was fluffy and flavorful! The restaurant here is a fusion. It incorporates a lot of flavors, including Latin American. The atmosphere is chic, classy and romantic. The service attentive and friendly. The prices are a bit expensive but its worth trying!
Carolina Margaria
Delicious tapas restaurant, located right across the riverfront, drawing from influence from across Latin America and fusing it with global cuisine. As an Argentine I was pleasantly surprised by the blending of cultures and flavors.
Everything we ordered was very good, with a few standouts. The server recommended 2 selections per person and we found that to be an adequate amount for everyone at our table to share and feel satisfied. We ordered the pastel de choclo, grilled octopus, foraged mushrooms (delicious), gaucho bread (amazing), chorizo & jalapeño cheddar wild boar sausages (very good, smoked bone marrow (a must try), short rib baocitos, steak tartare (perfection if you are a garlic lover), and patatas.
For cocktails we only ordered the wtcid (what the chef is drinking which was essentially a cachaca old fashioned. We all found it to be too smokey.
Service was attentive and exemplary.
Max Charp
Great tapas style restaurant. Decent pricing. Flavourful.
Only issue, we booked a high seated table and we got a tiny table against the wall and the legs of the table were in the way. It was annoying and not comfy
Nicholas Eull
A truly spectacular experience. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. The flank steak was probably the best I've had. The aquariums were a novel feature, one which includes Moon jellyfish.
Irileria Muhammad
Our hotel, Royal Sonesta, recommended us, and they were graciously able to seat us without a reservation. The atmosphere and decor is warm and inviting. I love the fish tanks. The service was excellent. The drinks are top notch and the food is amazing. The white corn and cheese fritters were so nice that I had to have them twice. The lamb chops were my favorite dish. Definitely a restaurant that I will come back to on future visits.
Robin Wang
Great tapas pairing with wine or cocktails! We ordered grilled octopus, watermelon salad (seasonal), smoke bone marrow and Peruvian fried chicken bites, all delicious! Seating is a little bit tight near bar area, parking lot right next to the restaurant. Good place for meeting friends and casual dining!

Went during happy hour, service was really efficient and friendly. Restaurant was very beautiful. Braised brisket empanadas were amazing and don’t miss out on the Foraged Mushrooms! The onion purée was fantastic!

5 STARS!!
I already know what to order for my next meal.
Their cocktails are very interesting too. If you can't decide on your drinks, just go for 'and so it goes'.
Desi Brier
Stopped in for happy hour drinks and food. Great deals and the food is incredible! Drinks were amazing and the atmosphere is so serene and relaxing with the jellyfish at the bar and the back room dimly light with cool rugs hanging from the stairwells. Highly recommend stopping in!
Harry
Wife and I went there for our anniversary. It was a Thursday night and we were surprised how full the place was. We both took the chefs tasting menu. The dishes were excellent. What really blew us out of the water were the crafted cocktails. They were amazing! I also ordered an IPA on the side which was pretty good as well! Our table was at the back so we didn’t get to enjoy the nice fish tank view at the bar.
Angela Cipolla
The restaurant atmosphere was fun and welcoming.. The staff was very friendly and helpful.. The food was amazing, lots of options. We will return the Perivan chicken bites , short ribs and scallops .. The Happy Anniversary card and champagne were a nice touch...
PDXAlice
I was so excited to see this restaurant thriving and filled with energy and people enjoying delicious food. We shared everything and got to sample so many amazing dishes and tapas with great flavors! I loved the beef brisket empanadas. The Sea Scallops served on polenta were exceptional. My cocktails were delicious! I loved the bonfire salt on the margarita. The salt gave it a smoky taste. The Trade Route is my new favorite after dinner cocktail! It was so smooth and unique. It was my first time to taste a drink with white port! The service was perfect!
Rebecca Rogers
Had a fun night out with friends. Nice atmosphere and cool fish tanks. Ordered a bunch of dishes and shared.
Antonios Karagiannis
Great tapas place!
Large variety in plates, an amazing old fashioned bar selection and all that, in a nice environment that is not loud.
I would definitely go again!

Fabulous meal! One of the best my partner and I have experienced in a long time. We frequent new restaurants we've never been to and everything from the drinks, service and food was excellent. I love the pace they set for your meal, no rush. They truly want you to dine and enjoy. Staff was amazing. The cocktails delicious.. 10/10 would recommend every time.
Yuxi Shen
Delicious Tapas served fairly quickly! Must try: Grilled Octopus and Foraged Mushrooms. The Octopus is so good that we ordered two.
Alex O
Food was amazing got the empanada with brisket, octopus, sangria, and bone marrow. Everything was delicious. Make a reservation it's faster. Chicken bits wouldn't get again.

I cannot say enough how much my family and I enjoyed our evening at Lechon. We planned a private event with a special menu at their private dining room in the separate annex building and were pleased throughout the entire process. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. From start to finish, we had a dedicated bar tender who paced the courses and made sure that everyone was enjoying themselves. My favorite course would have to be the scallops that were so tender and cooked to perfection. We reserved the space for a small party of 14 people and modified the family style 7 course meal with some tapas and small bites to start. The booking process was also so simple and stress free. We worked with Victoria who showed us the space (on the corner of SE pine and see 1st) and helped us pick out our menu for the night. If you are planning a private dining event I would highly recommend Lechon

Delicious food, delicious drinks!
A super recommended place to have a good time, good talk, and a good dinner.
Good atmosphere and excellent service!
Chris Mac
The food and drinks here were amazing. The flavors were artfully balanced in both the food and the cocktails. The prices were reasonable and the whole experience was wonderful.
James Anderson
We met in your bar five years ago dear Lechon. Thank you for making our anniversary dinner last night so special. Excellent food and the best service ever. We were lucky to find each other, and you. :) - xo James and Lesley.

Everything we ordered from beef bone marrow to octopus to mushroom tasted great. Definitely worth a visit.
Edwin Cruz
An exciting atmosphere filled with culinary fragrance. Tapas are generous and dishes are meant to be shared family style. Chef Jaco may even tell you about his inspirations if your lucky enough to catch him.
Julien FONTAINE
Delicious food, great wine and friendly staff. A very nice place to enjoy your evening in Portland. I'm very happy I found this place, so if you ever look for a very good restaurant and atmosphere you will find them at Lechon.
Taylor Robins
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful anniversary dinner at LeChon! Everything is small plates that are meant to share so you can order a whole bunch of the menu to try out and see what you like best. Our favorite menu item was the Pork Belly Baocitos, but the Strawberry Salad, Grilled Octopus, Brisket Empanadas and Spiced Tuna Tiradito were also absolutely delicious! For desert we had the Caramel Banana Pie, which was of course also fantastic. The wait staff was very attentive and after eating to our hearts' content our bill still came out to be less than $150! I can safely recommend LeChon for your special night out!
Ingrid Camsel
They had the most amazing Brussel sprouts. The food was very flavorful, a unique dining experience. Service was great. I suggest making reservations to avoid a wait.
Lu Urdaneta
Don’t even know where to start writing about this marvelous place, coming from South America I can certify the flavors of the dishes here are not only authentic but elevated to an unforgettable dining experience. We ordered tapas, and you should absolutely order the brisket empanadas before anything else, the Lomo with the rice cake is a succulent meal that you can’t afford to miss!
Sayan Saha
Ambience n service was nice.. Food were tasty.. We found smoked bone marrow a bit overhyped.. flank steak was chewy.. peruvian chicken was super soft n tasty..

I have never left a restaurant review before but felt it was necessary, this was the best food I have ever had in my entire life!! Literally if someone asked me the best meal of my life I would say Lechon! If I was in jail and had a last meal it would be what I just ate. Every single element of every single dish was amazing. Even the oil they served with the bread was heavenly! The vibe is cool, the servers are attentive, the drinks are great, I’m in love. Forcing all friends and family to go here every chance I get!
Erin Contour
This is one of those special restaurants you go to on that special night. Dates? definitely would impress. Birthdays, anniversaries? Absolutely. The food is amazing, varied and delicious. Beautifully prepared. Cocktails are wonderful and it's so much fun to see a bit into the kitchen and the aquariums are beautiful.
Joel Fleet
What a fun place in so many ways! I am a visitor to Portland and as I love great food when I travel I looked up places in advance. Based on reviews and location, I chose this place. Being by the water was fun, but most importantly the food and service were excellent.
We had empanadas, seared tuna, Peruvian hot chicken, and a beef short rib dish. All were perfectly shareable and had big flavor.
I don't drink anymore, but was seated at the bar and could see the bartenders prepping fresh cocktail ingredients from scratch. No doubt good if you partake.
Anna Nordlac
Food was delicious!! The Peruvian chicken comes with a great kick of spiciness 🤤🤤🤤.
1. Peruvian chicken bites
2. Porkchop
3.Grilled octopus
4. Pork belly bun

We really enjoyed the dining experience. Out server was friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and the dishes. We loved the Farmers Salad, and the corn & cheese fritters with accompanying sauce were delish. Also enjoyed the beef and cornbread pie. It was fun to be able to order small plates and try many items. Will definitely return.
Mo Aziz
Great food and cocktails. The Japanese Wagyu beef was amazing. Highly recommend!
Haide Giesbrecht
Fabulous happy hour with lots of great options for drinks and tapas. Thoroughly enjoyed!
Zoe Z
We went for happy hour 4-5pm and the three dishes are all good. Shrimp ceviche, fried chicken bites and bone marrow.
Austin Hines
Had the chefs tasting menu and will say it was one of the best meals I have ever sat down to have. Every bite felt like it had been crafted perfectly for both mouth feel and flavor. The cocktails are splendid and I would recommend saving a bit of room for dessert.
Micah Twiss
Elotes was overwhelmingly good. Actually, most everything was phenomenal! Ceviche, scallops, grilled octopus, and pork skewers were heavenly. And don’t get me started about the dessert, absolute FIRE. The non alcoholic drinks were super tasty and very unique. Our waiter Hailee was extremely kind and knew AND liked the menu items. Sizes are a little smaller than normal but it’s for easy sharing/tasting different dishes. No complaints. The service was quick for as busy as it was. 11/10 highly recommended if in the area!
Ryan Cooper
This saloon is boojie. Aquariums, outdoor seating. Tapas style high quality dishes you'll enjoy trying all of them. I didn't feel cool enough to eat there at first, but they're welcoming. designed by a genius mad scientist, their drinks are a sensory experience employing sights, smell, heat and acid, so much more than liquid and ice
Alvin Wilson
My fiance and I made reservations for our 11th anniversary, and I'm so incredibly happy with our visit. We were greeted with a card from the staff congratulating us and thanking us for choosing them for our special dinner. The staff went above and beyond our expectations to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. Besides the incredible service, the food was some of the best I've ever had. Every dish we ordered arrived promptly, and it was so delicious! Our favorite was the empanadas. We will definitely come back to try everything on the menu that we missed. Overall a very special experience, and I want to thank everyone who helped make our anniversary a memorable one.
Aries Powvalla
On the blistering cold night that we visited Lechon, I had one of the best food experiences of my life. First of all, after entering the restaurant, the staff were kind enough to move us away from the door so that we wouldn't... well... freeze. All the staff were very kind and helpful overall. Then, there was the food. Each and every dish that we ordered was immaculate. No single thing we ordered tasted bad, and that's nothing to laugh about.
Vic A
I wish I had taken more pictures, because the dinner I had on Friday was amazing! I’ve been a huge fan of LeChon, and it’s my favorite place to bring people from out of town to. We had the lomo saltado, patatas beatas, foraged mushroom, fried chicken, and more. They had seasonal slushy drink with apricot that was out of this world! Hailey was our server, and was so good at taking care of us and making sure our food and drinks were amazing.
Ashley Jovellanos
Wow, every single dish we had here was phenomenal. We enjoyed the lamb chops, bone marrow, and lomo saltado. They all had such unique flavors and the presentation was amazing as well. My boyfriend enjoyed their old fashioned bar where you get to pick and choose the alcohol and bitters etc. which we had never experience before so he enjoyed that experience. Restaurant looked cool as well since they had their own salt water and jelly fish tank. Highly recommend!
Joaquin Diaz
Wow, just wow. The food is OUTSTANDING. The service is great. The atmosphere is fun, live, and inviting. There is plenty to look at with the decorations throughout the restaurant. A reservation would be best. The place fills up fast.
Freda Huang
Friendly staffs and great food. Would definitely come back again!
Charlotte
Overall is good, but not amazing. Lamb chop is 4.5 ⭐️, you can taste the lamb smell from the fat. Octopus burned a little bit so it tasted a bit bitter. Bone marrow is to small, the top two has decent amount of bone marrow, but the bottom two were literally empty 🤯 …
Terrence Y
Came here for happy hour and the food is very good. I love heavy taste dishes and the bone marrow is one that I like the most.
Amie Holko
Their happy hour is from 4-5 and they have a great selection of tapas. I recommend taking friends that like to eat so you can try more things. Our favorites were the Peruvian chicken, buratta salad, and empanadas. The service was great and the food came out quickly. The cocktails were fantastic...very flavorful and well balanced.
Aaron Straight
Portland has so much great food it can be hard to rise to the top (and not be pretentious). LeChon's dishes are just honest to god goodness: not too cute or too clever, but hardy and beautifully well balanced. The sauces were fantastic and the veggies and meats cooked crispy and flavorful. The space is cozy, beautiful, and lively. The service was super pro while at the same time normal cool folks who read the table well. We ordered a little bit of everything and loved it all. And hey.. thanks a lot for having a banging N/A mocktail list. I drank through most of the list (delicious and complex) and could still walked a straight line back to my car and drive to the next party. I'll be back here next time I'm in the city, for sure.
Nick Williams
Love this restaurant. Great ambiance and super friendly service. Our favorites from the menu include the empanadas, and the crab toast. The cocktails are also delicious. Try "what the chef is drinking" and wait for your mind to be blown!
Homer Nassar
The highlight of our Portland visit, we started with individualized takes on favorite cocktails like the customized old fashion with rye and cardamon. All the tapas sizes offerings were amazing, crisp pepper empanadas, complexly flavored mushrooms, spicy Peruvian chicken lead up to the moist pistachio cake with strawberry ice cream. The jellyfish aquarium added a soothing completion to a wonderful dining experience.
Ziqi Wang
Interesting cocktail options. Food is pretty good too

Fun place, nice bar, bartender was in tune with the patrons. Food was good and drinks were great! Will come back soon. During summer they have outdoor seating, too!

First time here and I very much enjoyed everything. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. I ordered “what the chef is eating” the flavors of all the food blew me away. Every dish that came out became my new favorite. I can’t wait to comeback and try more of the menu!
Ps I ate the pork belly chaufa without getting a picture it was my favorite next to the spiced tuna tiradito

Lechon is a casual chic restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. They also have two cool aquariums in the restaurant, one of which is a tank of floating jelly fish behind the bar.
I would recommend getting reservations if you plan on going during popular dining hours. Our reservation was for dinner on a Friday evening and the place was packed. Our table was situated by the check in counter and I observed a few walk ins leave because of the lack of available seating.
Food is served family style and was absolutely amazing. We went with The Chefs tasting menu ($55/person) and also ordered the grilled octopus, bone marrow and shrimp ceviche. The octopus as grilled just right. Not tough or chewy. The shrimp ceviche was fresh and flavorful and the bone marrow was something I would recommend trying for the discerning foodie.
The overall experience at Lechon was great. Food was wonderful and the service was good. I would go back again to check out their brunch menu and to sample some of their cocktail selection.
DeAr Daniel
Food and drink are the best. Ambience is always great, Always packed so you need to reserved ahead of time. You have to pay extra for employee wellness something to do with them working during this pandemic time which I dont get it.
Matt Fellin
Went for a birthday gathering with 11 people, not a single disappointed mouth in the bunch! Food was excellent, cocktails were just as good, and service was on point. Looking forward to my next visit!
Cody Armstrong
Incredible tapas, empanadas, drinks, and of course service! They have a beautiful jellyfish tank and another more decorative fish tank near the bar inside. Great place for a date night dinner or cocktail hangout!
Api Gemar
Everything was amazing! We ordered a bunch of tapas and were pleasantly surprised with the bill. Duck wings were outta this world, lomo saltado was soooo juicy and tender. It was just lovely! Clean-eating delicious dishes that ground the soul. Earthy and warm vibe…cozy and intimate atmosphere… great for a deep- Conversation dinner. It was a little cold inside the restaurant but that definitely wouldn’t deter me from going again :)

We visitied LeChon on 03/31/21, our experience was incredible!
We started with a shrimp ceviche, everytime I've been, it's a little different but always amazing!!!
We got the special of scallops and a jalepeno foam with diced apples and cucumbers, the flavors and textures blew us away.
Another special was the wagyu beef with a chimichurri sauce and another sauce that was creamy and a little spicy. The yucca fries were so crispy and tasted like potato but not as heavy feeling.
We got the farmers green salad arent big fans of goat cheese but this salad was so well balanced and hit every taste bud.
The bork belly baocitos were insanly soft on the outside bun and crispy on the inside. Super flavorful.
The pulled pork tacos were full of flavor! And finally the banana dulce de leche pie! All was so flavorful and amazing!!!
Becca Durham
I wish half stars were a thing because I would give this place 4.5 stars! The cocktail we had to start was delicious (and I was a little nervous after ordering it because it was unique but the risk paid off). We had gaucho bread to start it it was ok. A pretty basic flatbread that got a bit too crispy. For dinner my husband had the kalbi ribs and they were good. A solid 4 star dish. I had the pistachio pork chops and they were a 6 out of 5! Amazing. Hit all the right notes on the pallet!
Service was good. Friendly staff and we got seated quickly. The food came out as quickly as you would expect for what we ordered.
Overall, I would highly recommend going. We will return.
Charlie de L'Arbre
We somehow got a table here last minute and had the best experience from Catherine and the other staff. Highlights included the pork chop, chayote salad with black garlic tahini, kalbi short ribs, and patatas brava. Will definitely be back next time we're in town!
mauricio zuniga
The food was amazing. We went for our anniversary. I think my favorite was the vegetarian ceviche. The banana cream pie was also out of this world. Service was great kudos all around.
Caitlyn Barone
Everything I had was outstanding! Short rib baocitos, fried chicken bites, flank steak, wild boar sausages, a couple cocktails, etc. The server recommended ordering as a group and we had a great experience. We tasted so many things and none of it was disappointing. I highly recommend this spot! Next time I want to try their lomo saltado.
Rebecca Brooks
Amazing food (every bite was full of flavour), very cute, and fantastic service. I was in heaven as a celiac as they have a separate fryer and grill that's gluten free. I also had lots to choose from.
Doug Fischer
Visiting Portland, this was our last dinner out and I'm happy we chose it. The entire environment is great, cool music, decor, fish tank. The staff were all super friendly and our server was great. We ordered 5 tappas and a dessert and I could only remember to take a picture of one thing because we annihilated every dish the second it came out.. food was delicious. The fried chicken bites were spicier than expected (like hot buffalo wings) but still excellent. Only thing I'd say that was a miss was the pistachio cake for dessert, very dry but we had a feeling that was a risky choice anyway. Highly recommend this spot!

We had tried lechon a couple years ago for lunch and liked it. But their lunch menu was more limited so we returned recently with some friends to try their dinner menu. We had gotten a reservation for outdoor seating. Although, their outdoors is beautiful too, but we changed our mind last minute but they were still able to seat us inside relatively quickly. All the small plates we tried were really delicious- Peruvian chicken bites, burrata (with delicious peaches), gaucho bread, vermicelli dumplings, corn and cheese fritters, shishito peppers special (delightfully spicy in a good way). The dips that came with most of these dishes complemented them very well. But the small plates were pretty small as usual, so for the 4 of us, this didn't seem enough and so we ordered one bigger plate of peruvian roasted chicken. That was also wonderfully flavored and cooked. Glad we tried their dinner.

Probably one of the best pork tacos I've ever had. The flank steak needs to be sliced much thinner, but it tastes great. Service was okay, but it was busy.

Amazing food, service & atmosphere.
We made reservations (a must!) for 4 pm on a Saturday when they opened. Seating was easy breezy. You can sit in or outside, we opted for indoor seating.
What we had:
farmers green salad- champagne vinaigrette, cranberries, goat cheese, spiced pine nuts. They serve a happy hour small salad, however, our wonderful waiter suggested ordering the full salad(same price as 2 small salads) however much more salad on the full salad. Best salad I have had in a while.
Peruvian fried chicken bites- fermented hot honey, basil aioli- nice after kick. Husband really enjoyed. Must be a popular dish since every time a waiter passed by, they were carrying this dish to other tables.
Peruvian roasted chicken- corn, sweet potatoes, salsa criolla, cilantro, lime- really tasty. Particularly loved the sweet potatoes.
pan seared scallops- fresh corn polenta, tomatoes, parmesan, fine herbs- this was hands down my favorite. Only comment I have is I wish the dish came with 4 vs 3 scallops since the plates are shared-so I gave up the second scallop to my husband. lol
We pared our meal with a nice glass of Malbec. Since was happy hour, wince was $2.00 a glass.
Desert: banana caramel pie- dulce de leche: Amazing Amazing
Amazing.
Service was also amazing-Cormick was on point ensuring our glasses were not empty, giving good recommendations as well as spacing out each dish appropriately.
We will definitely come back to Lechon next time we are in Portland.
Fantastic food, service & atmosphere.

We will definitely come back to Lechon next time we are in Portland.

Hailey took such good care of us, and gave well researched recommendations that had us drooling. We got lucky and came during happy hour, when choripan is on the menu. Every dish we ordered was deliciously balanced. My two favorites would be the choripan and Brussel sprouts.
Had the lechon margarita which was so refreshing without being too heavy on the taste of alcohol.
Would love to return and try even more of this stellar menu.
Ola Urbanski
Easily the best food I've had since moving to Portland a 6 months ago. Ambiance is unique and the menu is rather cheap for the quality of food that you get. I will be returning!!
Rachael O'Rourke
Wonderful evening! My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here, and it was perfect. Everything from the little congratulations note they left us on the table, to the complementary dessert made us feel special and well looked after. Not to mention the food was fantastic - highly recommend the octopus! And the service was great. We will definitely be going back.
Constantine Johns
What a great spot!! Definitely one of our new favorite spots here in Portland! Will certainly recommend this spot to all of our visiting friends and family. Food is absolutely delicious! The tapas are so tasty with amazing flavors. We had the vegetable ceviche, bone marrow, mushrooms, and chicken bites - all were amazing! Service was outstanding, the staff is all so very knowledgeable about their food and they show pride in their product! We will most certainly be going back to try more plates!
Nicole Boatman
The ceviche was so good! The pepper empanadas were quite tasty. The lomo saltado was soo salty! It literally left my tongue feeling raw. My friends had the pork and roasted chicken, and both really liked their dishes. I'd definitely be open to returning and trying something different than the beef. I would come back for the ceviche alone honestly!

Good food and good services we eating in the bar. So the people is very nice
Shashwat P. Baxi
A South American restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The food is flavorful and heavy, so be careful not to order too many dishes. We loved the ambience and the decor of the place, along with the service and the open kitchen where you can see everything happening. The multiple aquariums also add a different dimension to the place. 6-7 vegetarian items on the menu make this a great spot for 2-3 diners going out for a different flavor profile than Spanish or Mexican.
Chris S.
Lechon does not disappoint. This was the best spot we ate at in Portland. We took the tapas route and each dish was better than the next. The portions are a nice size so you could get 3-5 plates to share and be good to go. We loved the ceviche; not only was it full of flavor but it was a generous portion. The mushrooms with egg on top were excellent and the steak was really great too. The service was 💯 This is a must go.
AJ Park
The decor is 👌The food is 👌And the waiters are 😍.
Came here for the last weekend of Portland Dining Month, and the special course was decent but their better dishes were not on it. We found ourselves ordering what our neighbors had ordered because the food is presented so well. Get the avocado and smoked trout toast and the foraged mushrooms.
The restaurant is also surprisingly large, way bigger than what it looks like when you first walk in.
Kathryn Hoffberg
Wow, this food was amazing. Had it for dinner on New Years Eve, and what a way to end a year! I cannot wait for covid to be over because the restaurant looked awesome. Cool vibes with a fish tank and jellyfish tank etc. The food was amazing, and I wish I could give 5 stars, but I was a bit disappointed with one thing: the tofu dish. The flavors were amazing but the tofu was one single block, meaning the inside didn't really get any flavor, it was just a bland block of tofu. In a way it seemed it was like they didn't know how to cook tofu but needed a veg option for the menu. I definitely plan on going back though!
MO
nice margaritas. only tried from happy hour menu but most were excellent dishes. fried olvies & shrimp ceviche was delicious. choripan was a good sandwich. mushroom with egg was incredibly tasty and was the star. Nice friendly vibe and cool bar seating.
kingdo22
Love this place. Have been here many times since first visit week after they opened. The empanadas, Lechon, and bacon wrapped duck breast are my top picks. Always get goucho bread w/ chimichurri sauce to put on everything. They also have a killer brunch only on weekends. Also the kitchen staff during dinner have good chefs who can make special order stuff like vegan if there's nothing available on menu. Just went last week and had the pork chop which was amazing.
Amanda Root
incredible dining experience. a must try for anyone in Portland! delicious, fresh, satisfying dishes. good wine list, great atmosphere. very friendly and knowledgeable staff. delighted with this establishment!
Jillian Pellagatti
Fantastic food, excellent service. We ordered “what the chef is eating” and were not disappointed. Would recommend to anyone visiting Portland or in the area!
Jamie Morris
Beautiful restaurant, awesome Happy Hour menu, and excellent food. A wide variety of gluten and dairy free options, well marked on the menu. I wanted to eat somewhere “Portlandly” and this definitely fit the bill: creative, organic, local food options. Great location by the waterfront as well.
Emily Hemenway
This place is very good. Everything was delicious and presented well. It all looked beautiful and colorful and scrumptious. We ate family style and ordered about ten dishes in total which was more than enough for six adults. We got to try a little bit of everything and when we split the bill three ways it was pretty affordable. Loved it!
Mallory J.
Super cute and busy!! Their drinks are always amazing and the food is deliciously unique. The salt water fish tank (not pictured) is beautiful and the jellyfish tank looks really cool with a rotating light that changes the color of the jellies every few seconds.
We'll be back!!!
Alan W.
Came here during my visit to Portland. The restaurant is beautiful with two huge aquariums. One for jellyfish and another for salt water fishes. We had a reservation, so after we checked in we were promptly seated. Our waiter was friendly, helpful and gave us a bunch of good recommendations. We ordered a total of 5 dishes which was one too many. Everything was nicely presented and good, but the pork anticucho was by far the winner of the night. In summary, good food, good service and one of my best meal in Portland!
Joshua Brown
LeChon was great location. Cool vibes flowing through the place. Super staff with knowledge about their menu. Drinks were pleasant and food extremely good. I would suggest if you like to step outside yourself and try something new that is outside your comfort zone on the menu then this is place to do it. They deliver on the goods.
Jason Craig
First time here, had never heard of it before. Pleasantly surprised! Really tasty food and unexpectedly affordable for downtown. Most plates are best for sharing, so grab some friends & order a heap of tapas!
Suz L.
Beautiful presentation of dishes, cool interior decor and ambiance. Great attentive service, dishes came out quickly. And most importantly the food was delicious, the combinations of flavors were really well done and the meat was not overcooked.
The tomatoes in the burrata dish could've been of better quality but that's what I get for ordering tomatoes when it's not in season. The eggplant puree was garlicy and delicious. Ordered 4 dishes and a dessert and it was perfect for two people.
J H
Great food and beer and service. Well worth a visit. Very busy so book ahead or plan on sitting at the bar which is good. Tapas is excellent although the honey chicken was very very very hot. Too hot to enjoy with the rest of the food so please add a warning to the menu. They did refund this which was just superb service. Thank you.
Tyler TerMeer
Attended the Summer Supper Series (Croatia) tonight at Lechon and cannot rave more about it. It was a lovely evening of wonderful food, service, and atmosphere all for an amazing deal. $60 a person gets you a a 6 course meal and wine pairing and you'll leave with a full belly and a smile!
Brendan Clark
Lechon offers 5 star food for a three star price in a four star restaurant. Most importantly, the food is truly as good as all of the positive reviews state. Flavor, preparation, and presentation all come together on plates like the yuca fritters, Peruvian roasted chicken, and the pork belly with chicharrones and plantain.
The restaurant is long and narrow, leaving the tables in the back dimly lit. Service was lacking during our dinner, the waiter was nowhere to be seen for a long while, but other staff members were delivering food quickly.
Insider tip: family style is the way to go. Order three or four tapas and one or two land, air, or sea options for a hungry group of four. It is the only way to truly experience all this place has to offer.
Gabrien Clark
I had the pleasure of eating here for 2018 Portland Dining month. The service was fantastic from the very beginning with our server who saw us walk in and immediately came over to help us get seated. Our waiter was very nice as well and accommodating, and always made sure we had water. Our food came out relatively fast and every dish was tasty. The group favorite were the sirloin anticuchos complemented perfectly by the sweet potato puree, while the chocolate mouse tart and mango puree (very sherbert-like) dessert provided the perfect ending. Lechon is certainly worth your time, and I can not wait to come back.
Teresa
Stopped in for some wonderful tapas, I didn't even get to the entrées because I stuffed myself with cheese board, crevice, bone marrow, trout toast. The bone marrow was amazing. The place was packed but we were able to get a table outside. The inside of the restaurant was very chic, I hope to make it back soon!
Back for a second visit with a party of 11! They managed this very well and I was very appreciative. We came in for Portland Dining month. Their menu was excellent, served family style, and plenty of food. The ceviche and smoked cocktail was also great. But I'm still coming back for more bone marrow.
Craig Wallace
Love this restaurant. Hard to get a reservation for a table, but if you're willing to sit at the bar it's possible. Great food and drinks.
Nikhil Menon
I had some incredible food here.
The bacon wrapped duck breast was cooked perfectly and tested absolutely delicious. The "what the chef is drinking" cocktail was extremely smooth, and also delicious. I was too full for dessert but I am definitely stopping by again. This place is fantastic.
Celine Yen
Highly recommend this place! We went to this place once a year before, the food was already fantastic. Few weeks ago we visit here again, same menu same food but the taste and flavor seems getting to a higher and more delicate level. We are all amazed!
Rebecca Zhang
The most memorable tapas were the pork belly and smoked bone marrow. We also ordered corn and cheese fritter (more like a potato ball) and the coconut rice + sirloin (reminds me of the Chinese stir fry beef). The main plates were alright - ribeye and scallops - a bit too salty and nothing impressive. The portions were only slightly bigger, so maybe we could have ordered more tapas instead. Overall was a pleasant dinning, but nothing too impressive. Friendly service.
Chris Gann
They had a steak special one of the more recent times I went, and it was amazing. I usually get whatever their special meals and drinks of the day are, and have never been let down. Service is attentive and quick. The neighborhood is unfortunate, but the food makes it worth the trek. Very accommodating to groups, too. Went with my team from work with no problem being seated.
Grace Song
I've been here for both lunch and dinner - and every time it was a successful dining experience. They have a great lunch menu with a great price for what you get. Their HH ceviche is just delicious! And they are right by the waterfront which is a great location. I've tried almost all of their menus and they never failed. Highly highly recommend this place!
Chris F
I sometimes think I give out too many 5 star ratings because once in a while, I feel like I need to give a 6. This is, of course, one of those times. Everything was amazing. There was no dish that I thought tasted just ok and each one was unique in its flavors and execution. It's almost unfair to have to choose but I think the most valuable dishes were the avocado & smoked trout toast and the corn quinoa empanadas.
Lior Kogot
We loved the place!! We came for empanadas but stayed because of the service (Adrienne rocks) and other food options. We end up with fish-n-chips with calamari and cod (yummy) along side of GREAT empanadas! Give it a try.
Zoe Ye
The coconut rice in Lomo saltato really surprised us but other dishes we ordered were over grilled and tasted bitter. Waiting over 10mins to get napkins.
Daniel Espinoza
Amazing food and great place to stop by to have a drink. The Lomo Saltado was the best I've ever had. Highly recommended 👌🏼
Dhvani Chheda
Amazing small plates! We come here very often and always leave satisfied. Great vegetarian options, especially the empanadas and vermicelli dumplings.
John Harris
Tight quarters for seating, and you must have a reservation if you want a table. The atmosphere is lively, and the food was creative and good.
Nina Casper
I am already thinking about when I can go back! The whole experience was great- the space, the service, the food, and the price. It is meant to share- and sharing 4 dishes between 2 people was $75. So reasonable and honestly the best food I’ve had in a very long time! Empanadas were fantastic. Had an amazing salad, chicken dish and fantastic dessert. It’s a must try.
Neha Burman
We loved this place sooo much! Their staff is great! Sadly didn't really take any photos because we were fully indulged in our food. Highly Recommended! Awesome drinks!
I'd suggest to make reservation beforehand to avoid any waiting period.
Steve Abrahao
Lechon offers an experience into South American cuisine like no other in Portland. The shared plates range from traditional flavors to fusion offerings that many will find delightful.
I recommend the brisket empanadas, octopus, lomo sentow, and definitely the bone marrow.
Luckily no reservation was needed as we sat at the bar and watched the kitchen work into the night. But I do recommend you grabbing a table.
Friendly staff. Street parking. Thank me later.
Dustin Toshiyuki
One of the best happy hours in Portland. Sublime and well thought out cocktails and bites. Sometimes they also have live music. This place is the full package.
Sheila A
Come here if you have a large party!
I was trying to find a place to host a large party for my birthday meal. It was super easy to reserve a table of 8 online. They even added a high chair as I requested on the reservation.
We ordered a huge amount of food and it was a great wide variety of food to satisfy toddlers to teens to adults. And even given the large order there was a nice constant flow of yummy foods that came out.
The staff was great and attentive. They even hand wrote nice birthday wishes for me as well as ended the meal with a fruit tart that my daughter just loved.
Would definitely recommend this place for the good food and atmosphere.
Thank you again Le Chon for the great birthday meal!
Adnan Baleh
This place was an unexpected pleasant surprise as the original place we wanted to go to had no reservations.
The vibe is electric and hip, service is great and the food was on point.
Highlights:
Lomo Saltado (steak was great and the coconut rise was delish)
Smoked Bone Marrow: Fantastic, especially on top of the gaucho bread.
The price was decent for the food and service.
Connie C
Nice seafood tapas place and great happy hour before 5pm. Especially liked the shrimp ceviche
Rachel Hansen
Absolutely amazing food, both vegetarian and meat/seafood were fantastic as was the service. The foraged mushrooms are to die for, I wish I lived in the area to get them again! As we were being seated they asked if we wanted vegetarian menus which is just the vegetarian options in 1 menu so you don't have to sift through all the options. Very nice!
They also had a fish tank and jelly fish tank at the bar which was mesmerizing to watch and a better place to sit for 2 as it is not nearly as loud as further in the restaurant.
Andrea Alvarado
We had an amazing experience. The food was beautifully served and the service was really good.
Louie Vergara
Awesome place to enjoy a great dinner, cocktails and scenery. The food is absolutely fantastic! Highlight recommend the chef's dinner plate. Try the old fashioned bar and make up your own old fashion.
Shaun Gates
This reservation for our anniversary dinner was incredible! We were excited to try many of the different tapas dishes to share, and the way you can order and experience everything is incredible! We had hopes to try and share different things, and that is how they present everything and allow you to keep ordering more and more things depending on how full you get, that way you don't order too much right away. ..although, I don't think there could be such a thing as "too much" here, as everything was seriously SO delicious, you'll just want more and more food to keep coming! We ordered Boacitos, two succulent, steamy pork belly buns, to die for. We had to get a 2nd round of those. In between those two orders, we also got the Lomo Saltado, perfectly seared, cooked, and seasoned steak bites amazingly paired with delicious rice cakes, cherry tomatoes, and peppers, ...soooooo excellent! Could've used a 2nd round of that as well. A Last Plane drink started it all off, as well as the Margaritas. We were too full to enjoy dessert there, but you bet we took it to go. Seriously, go here. We made reservations and had to wait a while (before and after) the set time, but it was alllllll worth the wait! Such a wonderful experience all-around. Probably the best meal I've had and will have for quite some time. It probably ruined eating anywhere else, as nothing will ever compare. Thank You! <3
Devin D
Flavour combinations were perfect. I really enjoyed the pork belly poppers, and wild foraged mushrooms. The desert item I was sceptical about. A chocolate hazelnut mouse and pineapple sauce - but it worked really well! I'll definitely be coming back.
::
South American cuisine at it's finest! Amazing dishes; seafood, different cuts of steak, tapas, margaritas, rotation taps, great selection of wine, and more. The server suggested sharing the dishes, although some portions were particularly small, multiple orders might be needed. Ambiance is fantastic. Staff super friendly and you NEED a reservation. I LOVE this place!!
JJ Choi
Everything we ordered was delicious. So well balanced, flavorful, just so yum. We drove from Seattle for the weekend and it totally worth the drive!
Angie Gordon
Love this restaurant! First time visiting it for happy hour. The food and drinks were so delicious (as you could tell, I forgot to take photos in the beginning and just started eating). Would definitely recommend this place!
lindsey marsh
Amazing food, excellent service, cool atmosphere. Careful tho, definitely a place where your eyes can be bigger than your stomach - those small plates sneak up on you! Can't wait to go back
Chris Roberts
I have never been more confused in my life. Should I eat my steak for dessert or my birthday cake. It was all a gastronomical ecstasy. Take your time eating here, enjoy your drink, enjoy your company. That’s the Argentinian way!
Ryan B
One of the best dining experiences I've had in quite some time. The food, service and ambiance were truly excellent. I'll be back every time I come to Portland.
Taylor Redding
Great ceviche and empanadas! I will be back. 4 stars only because we were sort of rushed off of our table for other "reservations" after good conversations and probably since we were not really ordering more after initial order. They should tell you up front if there's a time limit associated with your table.
Ted Martinez
Great tapas and drinks! Not in a great neighborhood, but worth the visit.
Stuart Hwang
Very nice tapas. Live music was nice. Service was scattered.
Dawn Winsor
Hailey is the best! The food was absolutely incredible. Drinks were even better. Can’t wait to go back.
Clarisa James
A definite must try! Great for splitting food with your group. Industrial-chic vibe. The bone marrow & Lomo Saltado were my favorites. Simply amazing!
Nathan Yaun
I am from out of town (WI) and was visiting Portland for work. I had seen the show Portlandia and wanted to see what the culture was really lik in the area. This place did not disappoint. Not only was the food and atmosphere fantastic but you get to see all of the interesting people from the area as well. A must visit for anyone from the uncultured Midwest.
Eden Lee Mishali
So, the place looks very very good, it has 3 giant aquariums inside which adds a lot to the general feeling in the restaurant.
The waitress was extremely patient lovely!
The food itself comes in a very small dish and is pretty expensive for what you get.
ilana hayut
A very cool place with a good young vibe, delicious unique food, Friendly staff and beautiful design.
Highly recommended

Business traveler, plenty room at the kitchen bar. Had chefs tasting, empanada met most of my expectations, mal humorado was an excellent cocktail. Bun was memorable, pork belly accompanying was tough, need to work on that. Flank steak over cubed apples, sweet pots and kale was of course very good, and the pesto cream on the pasta tasted like pure summertime. Candid pistachio and apple salad was good, but underwhelming.
Dessert was a coconut pineapple volcano cake , with lots of fresh berries. Overall a very good meal. Zero proof cocktail was super tasty!
Catherine Fields
LeChon never disappoints. I've always gone here for dinner with friends, family, etc. We did a work event at LeChon's separate space on Pine for 12 people and it was great! Cormick was fantastic with service - very attentive but also let us have our business meeting. The food was fantastic as always! We did salad, salmon, steak, zoodle/melon salad, and chocolate tart for dessert.
V M
Delicious food and drinks. The place is very nice and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Their recommendations on food and drinks was great! We tried a lot of different tapas and they were all fantastic!!! I definitely recommend this place. I will definitely go back and bring more friends with me!
Kally Shar
They fit us in without a reservation and brought us drinks...... then completely ignored us. The drinks were good and the vibes were fun but...
Mai Tran
We only got happy hour but we would come back for that. Recommend the oysters and the tiger shrimp appetizer. The place is also good for a date.
Candice Summerlin
Excellent!! Our food was delicious, our cocktails perfect! 10/10! We will be back!!
Daniela Espinel
We showed up without reservation and the place was packed, the host was so nice and helped us taking a table that had a late reservation. The food was good.
Kate Taylor
One of the best meals of my life. We came for the fish tank. The atmosphere was even cooler than I was expecting but the FOOD!! Oh my God the food. Everything was out-of-this-world good. I have no words. The bartenders are also very friendly, fun, and funny. This place is a 6/5 stars.
Rhea Stadick
I had dinner here. Everything here far exceeded most restaurants in PDX. The food is incredible and what I've been hoping we'd eventually start to get here in the local food scene. Atmosphere, service, music - all spot on. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Bon Duong
This place is a must try when visiting Portland. Their Grilled Octopus never fails to impress.
Adam Bliven
Excellent dinner and cocktails. My wife and I shared several tapas. We didn't have a reservation (who would have guessed on a Tuesday night), so we sat at the bar. The bartenders put on a wonderful show mixing the various concoctions. The bar looked more like an old fashioned apothecary with all the bitters, syrups, and special ingredients. Impressive how they infused the "what the chef drinks" with apple wood smoke. As a recovering alcoholic, I especially appreciated their Zero Proof cocktail selection. I never would have guessed there was a na whiskey!
Dave Opdyke
Food was delicious, and our server was even better. LOVED happy hour!
Amanda Rico
The ambiance is lovely here. They have a massive saltwater fish tank and a jellyfish tank at the bar! So cool to look at while you're enjoying your food and drinks. My boyfriend and I shared the shrimp ceviche, which was fantastic. And we also had the lomo saltado and grilled octopus which were both great options as well. We'll be returning, especially for that happy hour! Cheers.
Volom117
Super friendly people, awesome customer service. Hunter is an awesome bartender! Wtcid is a must! Food is deadly!!!!
Cannot go wrong for a quick bite to eat or dinner.
J
Highly recommend!! The food was delicious and had a great vegetarian selection, as well. The whole staff and our server Jesse, made our experience outstanding. We loved the atmosphere and will definitely be coming back to try more of those amazing cocktails and dishes. Still dreaming of those brussel sprouts and that dessert!
Drew Kelly
We ordered more food than we should have, but good lord was it worth it to try everything we did. The Brussels sprouts are incredibly tasty. The octopus was good, but the least favorite on our plates. The ceviche was killer. The scallops were ethereal. Annnnnnnnd, to top it off: amazing service. Definitely will be back again soon 💋
Isa Dean
Delicious food! Maybe a little salty (and I'm someone who adds salt to most meals.) I enjoyed the tapas spicy chicken, a potato dish and a beef and corn porridge dish. The tri tips and sauce were amazing. As a gf person, wish there was less bread (brioche) incorporated into otherwise enticing dishes. My South African friend was excited to see bone marrow on the menu (chef is SA.) She was disappointed in what she received because there was so little marrow in the bones - and the flavor was overpowered by butter and salt I'd say. Wish she felt comfortable asking - what up with that? We had a lovely time chatting in the ambiance of good food, patient and attentive waitstaff, good lighting. We spent $50 pp which is actually reasonable for more amazing food than we could eat and included wine and cocktails. I would recommend this restaurant for special occasions including gatherings of 6-8 people. I think for couples it may be a little loud but still a nice spot to be together.
Natalie Mendez
Such an amazing atmosphere, and amazing food. Honestly. One of my favorite places in Portland. I'll be coming back again
denise wirtz
First time there. Staff was terrific, service was timely without being intrusive. Food and drink offerings were delightful and affordable. Overall a lovely dining experience.
Cynthia
Happy Hour at LeChon was divine! Beautiful space, delicious food, stunning presentation and generous portions, service on point.. who could ask for anything more? Can't wait to return!
Robert Hoover
Fabulous! Everything was excellent. This is now my #1 restaurant in Portland.
Andrew Nelson
The bone marrow dish here is special. Steak was good - Ilha Grande drink is amazing.
Peter
We had ceviche appetizer, the server is really familiar with this dish, everything added up for a great experience. Lamb chops main. Tapas are really special.
Lynn Conti
Time and time again, they hit it out of the park! We have used this as our meeting place with different groups of friends and everyone always agrees- it is one of the best and most consistently outstanding restaurants in Portland. Not only are the menu offerings creative and perfectly prepared, but their ability to turn out drinks and plates in short time, with perfect timing -even with a packed restaurant- is impressive! Keep up the good work- you can bet we'll keep coming back!
Allen Cheng
One of our absolutely favorite restaurants. Chef Jaco never disappoints. Staff are super friendly. Love their grilled octopus, bone marrow, empanadas, lomo saltado, and ceviche. They also have really well crafted cocktails. Their WTCID (what the chef is drinking) currently is the most unique blend of Smokey/sweet/savory. As weird as that sounds it is absolutely delicious. A must try place and we are regulars.
Also, great atmosphere. The bar opens with a beautiful jellyfish tank. The back room makes you feel like you’re eating in an alley in South America, which is really cool use of that space.
J Scholl
I have been here many time since it first opened. I was recently there with my girlfriends and the ambiance was nice, very busy. I always get grilled Octopus and this time it was different, less flavorful. The lemon drop was good. I just dont think it has the same quality as years ago. Service was just fine. Still worth a try in my opinion!
Sandra Collins
This was such a fun place for a girls night out! The plates are meant to be shared, the food and drinks are amazing! All the food was picture worthy, but we forgot to take any, we just started eating! They blend foods together to create out of this world flavors! We will definitely be back.
K R
I would give this place 3.5 starts. The space itself is really cool and the host was friendly. Our server was dismissive - asking us how the food was, but then looking at something else every time she checked in on us as if we were an inconvenience.
We got the following: gaucho bread (slightly burnt and underwhelming flavor. We didn't finish it).
Shrimp ceviche (delicious and the best dish by far)
8 oz Snake River Farms flank steak (decent, but not great)
Lan roc pork chop (delicious)
Cocktails were okay, but nothing to write home about. They were out of both cocktails we wanted to try, and our second choices weren't great but I don't recall what they were.
Peri Periakaruppan
Great South American food! Visited here for a corporate dinner that was pre arranged in a private room in the back. The setting was great with custom menu and service. Food was awesome as well as the drinks.
Daniel Chen
Excellent food. Staffs are friendly. If you can make a reservation, make one. The wait here is pretty long. Tables are usually booked.

Had a fantastic dinner here with a big group. Siobhan the event coordinator helped set everything up and it went very smoothly. We chose a preset menu and all the food was delicious! The chocolate torte was a big hit. Staff was attentive and made the experience more fun. The decor of the restaurant is the only thing that wasn't quite as nice as we expected. Will be back!
Narek Dshkhunyan
Chic restaurant with great ambiance. Happy hour is really awesome, they have got good deals on both food and drinks. Shrimp ceviche and chimichurri burger were both delicious. Presentation of the food, like the fancy plates etc, is akin to that of much more expensive restaurants.
K W
The ceviche was incredible! Highly recommend the shrimp ceviche - flavorful yet light, super tasty.
Andrea DeTemple
We went for our anniversary and they made it so special! An anniversary card and champagne to start!! Brandon, our server, was exceptional! The food was delicious, different, flavorful, and amazing!! The ribeye and chicken bites were ridiculous! I wanted like 7 orders of the chicken empanadas!! The cocktails were fun and tasty!! We will certainly be back!!
Kaes Kniestedt
Came here on a visit to Portland and were not disappointed. We searched Maps and Yelp forever for a great date night and finally settled on Lechon. We were promptly seated at a great spot by the window. The room was lively but designed well enough that you could easily hold a conversation across the table. We loved the gaucho bread so much that we got a second order. The burrata was also fantastic. Our server was also phenomenonal! Five stars for a great venue, would highly recommend you check it out. My only con is that the bar was a bit slow getting our drinks to the waitress.
Tajuana O’Gorman
The best tuna ceviche I’ve ever had. All the food was incredible and the servers to back it up. 10/10. Highly recommend.
Ramon Macias
I went to LeChon for during lunch hour. My sandwich was so tasty. I ordered yuca fries as side and they delish. Great place and friendly staff!
Sun Kim
Loved the food, ambience and the service. Can't ask for more if you want good food for a romantic dinner out.
CHETHAN GADDAM
Perfect ambience, great views from the waterfront. We ordered a variety of Tapas, Argentinian wine, and some cocktails all of them were simply awesome!!
Chey Hagner-Burgoyne
LOOOOOOVED it!! The food was delicious, and service was superb. Our server was Isabel, and she was amazing! Shout out to a fellow gin lover 😃🍸 …
Garrett
Great food. Not normally a small plates guy but this place offers great portion sizes and delicious food for their "small plates".
Evan M
Food is really good. Kind of hard to tell what the portion size was going to be when you're selecting things from different areas on the menu but everything was great. Sitting at the bar is actuallt great because there is a sweet jelly fish tank to watch
Flor Lilibeth Vargas Coronado
The best thing we ate in Portland. Every dish was delicious, literally everything. Cool atmosphere. This place is a must if you’re visiting Portland!!
Roberto Castillo
Amazing food, taste, presentation and originality in the fusion of ingredients. Excellent service, totally recommended. If you visit Portland, you have to eat here!
Joohee Park
love the food, the vibes; every time i go here i order the peruvian chicken 🖤 …
Sam Rorger
This is the perfect place for a family vacation. The people, the atmosphere, and the cuisine are all perfect. Must consider going.
Austin Burke
Amazing date night spot. Got what the chef is eating for two. ~5 courses, dessert, and a drink. Was amazing. All the food. I don't really enjoy seafood so we got it subbed with the pork belly baocito and that was amazing.
Steak could have been more tender would be my only complaint.
Server was very nice and accommodating.
Roki B
In a city already brimming with high end restaurants, Lechon sets themselves ahead. Each unique item arrived perfectly timed, meticulously plated, and exquisitely delicious. Cocktails were innovative and fresh. The surprisingly wide array of epicurean delights will leave you sated, but wanting to return.
E. Alex Escareno
The stew tapa was only alright. The one with the pork belly was PERFECT.
Chang Su
Absolutely awesome restaurant. The food is very delicious, service is outstanding, location is convenient.
Chris Shifman
A singularly amazing dining experience! Not a single item was less than superb, the staff are all incredible, watch the jellyfish swim at the bar!
Every cocktail was brilliant (try the What The Bartender Is Drinking!)
Bone marrow to die for, you can eat the Gaucho bread for days, did I mention they have a killer Happy Hour?
Oh, and save room for dessert!
Kristina
Busy place! Sat at the bar with my boyfriend and had a couple fantastic cocktails. Looked like an amazing food menu and the cocktail list was fantastic! Next time we visit Portland (from BC) we'll be back and making a reservation.
Mark Powell
Two sizable coral fish/jelly fish tanks inside near the bar. Sorry forgot to take some shots. Pretty ballet dancers out front with the outdoor seating. Food was exceptional, spices are masterfully employed. Service was top notch! Desert OMG! You don't want to miss desert.
Scott Reed
We are not even done with our dinner here at LeChon and all we can say is WOW!! Exceptional. Every dish had it own flavor profile and ifyou order something with the coconut rice cake make sure to order an extra rice cake. Drinks. Awesome. Wine List. Unique and excellent. Amazing service. This is a very very popular spot so make sure to make the effort and schedule a reservation. We will definitely be back. Don’t have the words to applaud this establishment!! Bravo.
Laurie Itkin
Delicious (and this is coming from a Foodie). My husband and I were visiting from San Diego and we met up with another couple at Lechon. The strawberry salad had a delicious and unique dressing. My scallops and sauce were excellent. The gluten-free chocolate mouse with tropical sauce was a standout. Our waiter was fantastic. Would have rated 5-star if the wine-by-the-glass menu was better. I had a glass of sparkling wine and then an Oregon pinot noir. The wine was fine but not as good as the food. My tablemates loved the tapas. I would definitely go back.
LISS
The food was fantastic, the hostess was terrific, the manager was good, but they couldn’t compensate for our awful sever. We had to chase down our cocktails, she forgot items, she failed to check on us despite us letting her know at the outset we were planning a leisurely tapas meal of ordering more as we went along, and then she delivered a bill that was $169 more than it should have been. That’s quite a lot. When we pointed out the error she corrected it, but without offering any kind of an apology! Awful service ruined what should have been a delightful birthday celebration evening. Be sure to check your bill carefully!!!!
D Rudnick
The food was fantastic. The service left a bit to be desired. Perfunctory bordering on rude. Found it interesting that despite my calling over a week in advance and being told they could squeeze me in no later than 6, we are our meal with nearly a half dozen tables noticeably sitting empty. Perhaps they are short staffed, which wouldn’t be surprising since most everyone is these days. Likely why our server looked and acted as if this wasn’t her best day at work. It’s a really hard time to be in the service industry, so here is hoping they can get back to a staffing level that supports their awesome food.
Wally Tablit
So cool and so good! A fun selection of tapas, and some great cocktails! They have a create your own old fashioned thing where you pick your whiskey, your sugar, and bitters! If I wouldn't have ended up tipsy and sloppy by the end of the night, I would have tried all of the combinations! 🤪
Lara Mowery
Wowza, not to be missed! Every bite so tasty and a wonderful atmosphere with great service.
Teresa Snook
Our reservation was for 4 pm and we were seated as soon as the doors opened at four. Cozy lighting, warm wood and aquarium life promised a unique and hopefully delicious meal experience....we were not disappointed!
The family style dinner was so enjoyable, with a chance to sample every wonderful
item without the uncomfortable fullness you've probably experienced after dining at establishments that fill you with bread and potatoes.
Service was timely, friendly and thoughtful.
I can say, without a doubt, if you love interesting flavors and want to be spoiled with delectable food, you will be happy to eat at Lechons'!
John Bernardo
Food was excellent and reasonably priced. We got 5 different Tapas. 3 veggie and 2 meat. We enjoyed the diversity of the menu. She got a glass of Pinot and I went with Sangria. Sangria was tasty. Only reason I didn't go with 5 stars was due to a bit of a wait once we were seated (about 10 mins). Otherwise during the rest of the experience the service was great.
Tiffany Bracken
My boyfriend and I came here for dinner last week for our anniversary and it was absolutely amazing! The staff was wonderful, sweet and totally on top of everything especially when it comes to all the covid guidelines now. The food... Dear lord the food was on point, absolutely perfect and flavorful with the most amazing mouthfeel and textures. I have cooked in kitchens my whole life, I really love and admire this place and the amount of love and hard work they put into this delicious menu. And dear lord the cocktails were some of the best I've had. The flavors were perfectly balanced, the flavors were so distinctive. I cannot wait to come back to this place! The happy hour is amazing btw, and considering the quality of food you get here the prices are really reasonable! Cant wait to come back💗🤘
Frank Butler
One of the most delicious places my wife and I have ever eaten. My wife says this may be the best place ever because the food was so good. Get your reservations early (as in days in advance).
Chad S
Great food. geat service, great cocktails! Tapas for days
Dessa Salavedra
Went for the Portland Dining Month and the courses were very light and delicious. I really liked how they served each course rather than having customers choose. Highly recommended😀 …
Kyle Gibson
Great service, great food and great drinks. If you haven't been here get here you won't regret it !!! Their brunch is one of the best in town.
Nicholas Lenzini
Fantastic food all around. Even the drinks.
Other, what the chef is drinking.
Grant Warner
Really enjoyed this place. Glad it was recommended to us!
Max Spicer
Honestly the best tapas experience I have ever had. Every single dish was delicious. The wait was a little long for some of the dishes, but absolutely worth it. Will go again.
LC
There's so much flavor in every dish, you will remember each mouthwatering bite.
Mackenzie Leighton
Absolutely phenomenal meal. Family style shared portions were extremely well crafted and quick to the table. Drinks were unique and delicious. Kitchen and bar were like a well oiled machine. Highly recommend!
Lance Bowman
LeChon is fabulous! Amazing menu of South American delicacies. Full bar with SA inspired specialty cocktails.
Christopher D
Let me preface this review with the fact that I have eaten a lot of great places including Forbes 5 star restaurants and AAA 5 diamond restaurants. Lechon is one of the best places I have ever eaten and that's saying a lot. I had to meet the chef and I did. He is from South Africa actually traveled to Venezuela, Peru, and I think Chile to influence this menu. I did the chef tasting menu and it was spectacular. I've payed hundreds for this level of culinary skill and this place is definitely less costly for better. I'm not from the Portland area, which in general seems to be a haven for foodies, but this place stands out still. Must eat here whether local or not.
April Dombrow
The food was truly great. The staff was super friendly and personable. I loved the interior. Post Covid I imagine that bar will be amazing to hang out at. There is a huge fish aquarium that was so fun to watch and the whole vibe was just awesome. Everything is served Greek style tapas which is our preferred way to eat since we share everything we eat with each other anyway. The sparkling water is awesome. Definitely get a bottle. They make it themselves which I think is pretty cool
Angela Martinez
Great food (more fusion than south American) and great service.
Bonnie Leiser
The best meal I've had in a long time, everything was wonderful!
J Wu
Always an excellent experience. Only ordered tapas for dinner, for variety and sharing!
S T
Come here again 3 yrs later. As good as I remembered
Vince T.
Awesome place with great food! Had elote to start and it was amazing. Then moved to several tapas dishes for the table to share.
Scott Tillman
Fav place we ate in PDX. Everything we ordered was absolutely fire, will make this a stop each time we are in town moving forward. Highly recommend the scallops for seafood or chicken for land. Enjoy!! You won't be disappointed!!
Rachel Sinit
Highly recommend. Everything I tried was delicious. I recommend making reservations because they fill up quickly!
Kamalika Roy
Awesome food but waited 1.5 hrs.
saroop shrestha
Ordered tapas and liked the food.
Brussel Sprouts with Cashew butter was good but a bit too sour.
Scallops with Jalapeno foam was cool! Tasted good and was creative.
Bone marrow with gaucho bread was delicious.
The foraged mushrooms with egg and toasted brioche was fantastic.
I had Lemon cheesecake as dessert and it was tasty.
Overall, I enjoyed eating here.
Donna Zheng
Best meal of my vacation to Portland! Came here for happy hour (4-5pm). Happy hour were for both drinks and food. We were stuffed by the end of our meal with some amazing food and strong drinks.
Nima
Just a great atmosphere and fun experience. My partner and I squeezed into two (tiny!) seats at the bar on New Years, luckily we’re thin people!! 😆
The cocktails here were incredible, inventive and playful! The tapas were very good and I was impressed with the amount of vegetarian options. The empanadas, foraged mushrooms, Peruvian fried chicken bites (my partner’s) and patatas were all incredible. I was hypnotized watching the colorful fish (and probably a little drunk). The vegetarian ceviche was an interesting experience since I’d never been offered the opportunity to try it.
The vibes are just good and I appreciated they didn’t bother vax carding us (tho I’m vaxxed I’m increasingly annoyed at this power play because of the inconvenience of scrolling to find my card and also the inconvenient fact that this vax doesn’t prevent omicron transmission at all 🤷🏽♀️).
I will definitely be back. The only bummer is that it’s on the west side which is out of the way and not a fun place to find parking.
Yulily
The ambience, staff, and food are all excellent. ✨ The quantity of food is elegant so the price is high for the amount of food, but the taste and presentation are satisfying to the senses. It is recommended to make a reservation before visiting as the restaurant gets crowded soon after it opens.📞😊👍 …
Myriah Giannattasio
As beautiful and delicious as the food was, it was not anything like the food I grew up with. As a daughter of an immigrant I wish that this restaurant would've had more traditional dishes. The food is more American than it is Argentinian. I hope this review is seen as a form of constructive criticism than it is an insult. I would just like to see better representation of my culture.
Andrea Leech
Most amazing octopus I've ever eaten. Everything we tasted was fantastic.
Joe Jones
Our dinner here was amazing. We tried some of the new menu items and they did not disappoint. The service was also exceptional as always. This will continue to be one of our favorite Portland restaurants.
C. War
A lot of the "foodies" and "hipsters" think this place is the bees knees. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, but not sure about the vibe or the price for that matter. If you're looking for a good place for a date night, you're looking at the right place. If you're looking for a place for a business lunch or a group outing; probably not the right place due to how limited their seating is and how they cannot really accommodate anything larger than a party of 6 without breaking up the groups and putting them at multiple random tables. And you definitely need to call ahead because this place books up fast.
David Mallery
Excellent food and drinks, loved the jellyfish behind the bar mixing drinks
Kai-Lin Tseng
Grilled Octopus and Shrimp Cerviche 🤩
Friendly gradient entrance and wonderful service~ top choice for a high-end date night! …
John Mortola
Amazing dinner. There were so many interesting items on the menu that I have to go back! Be sure to make a reservation well in advance.
Sahid Martin Robles Bello
My goodness. They open at five and they're pretty much full at the same time, for good reason. The plates are small, but top notch.
Felipe Castillo
Some of the dishes are exceptional, or are a little less so. We had a mix of vegetarian and meety dishes. Overall they were good with exceptions.
For example, the vegetarian ceviche is really tasty, the ají amarillo was exceptional; it was supposed to be full of hearts of palm but instead it had only two and the rest was lots of hikama root (or something similar not listed in the ingredients). We ordered because of the hearts of palm and got almost none of them.
The octopus was delicious but it didn't taste as fresh as I'm used to, nonetheless highly recommended.
The bone marrow was another great dish, the gaucho bread was a great combination. The chimichurri was disappointing, lacking some acidity (it usually has vinegar as a main ingredient), the acidity would have helped cut some of the richness of the marrow.
The burrata, corn fritters and mushroom dishes were great without any complains and highly recommended.
Last, their cocktail, they are great tasting and worth trying. I love their combinations of flavors, very unique and complement the dishes well.
Service was also outstanding, our waitress gave us a free cake for the birthday celebration and even put some candles around it.
I highly recommend this place, it's not perfect but it's great nonetheless. We'll be coming back.
Timothy Bentrim
Fantastic atmosphere, food and staff! Loved the tapas selection. We'll be back! Jellies in fish tank were mesmerizing:)
Justin Dolinger
One of my all time favorites for sure, great food experience!
Alex Zhong
We came here very last minute on a Tuesday evening which happened to be the last night we were in Portland. It was pretty obvious that we were going to need a reservation to get a table, but by the time we made the decision to come, everything was already booked. Regardless, we decided to give it a shot anyway.
The hostess was extremely accommodating, even when she didn't have to be. We were able to order drinks while we were waiting, and while she originally promised us a seat at the counter, she was able to arrange for us to have a table after some negotiation, which was really awesome. So kudos to the team for top notch service.
The lomo saltado and bone marrow were our favorite dishes by far. Further, the timing worked out well such that these two dishes came at the end the meal and was the perfect way to cap off a trip to Portland.
Natasha Barnhill
My new favorite restaurant in Portland!! Get the bao and Fred chicken and get what the chef is drinking!
Shaun OConnor
Beautiful space, great service, excellent food
Meghan Scott
The Peruvian chicken bites were delicious; crispy with great flavor and a good portion size. The smoked bone marrow was by far the star of the night; incredibly good and seemed high quality. The bread and sauces with the bone marrow were perfect together. The tuna ceviche was refreshing and had bright flavors. However, the pork belly baocitios were disappointing. The pork belly didn't seem to have been cooked long enough and had an unpleasant texture; not at all soft or buttery when usually pork belly has a melt in your mouth feeling. The service was friendly and fast; we were never without anything we needed. We would definitely come back here!
Albert Wang
The food is great! It is also very vegetarian friendly
Michael Davis
Cool ambiance and great food!
Kali Cotner
The food is outstanding! We shared a few tapas and they were all Delicious! Service and drinks were spectacular as well. We love the make your own old fashioned bar and the crab toast!
Esteban Hernández
I think the portions are quite small, but the food is good, it's also expensive ... In general the place is very nice.
Ronald Pileggi
Wow! Great food (Tapa's), service (Joe), ambiance (quiet and secluded enough to hear everyone at the table of 5). Highly recommended for just about any event that all of the above are required. We went for my adult sons birthday and he was elated and says, Lechon is by far the best restaurant in Portland and he is a c ed certified local foodie! Enjoy!
Oneil Carter
My name is Oneil Carter, aka Jimmy, and I approve this restaurant. Never in all my years here in the US have I had such a high quality wonderful meal from a restaurant- and I've dined at many Forbes recommended restaurants. INCREDIBLE!!! If I could give you a 10/5 stars. I would.
T Franklin
Great little place for happy hour. Food was amazing. Will go back for more. Highly recommend the brisket tacos.
Arya Varshoei
What an amazing place, great food, very friendly and helpful staff, nice atmosphere and decor.
The Octopus tapas was fabulous and the a Peruvian chicken killed it...
I loved the jellyfish aquarium.
Troy Lerner
Bangin’!
The place was busy, but well staffed. We had a great high top by the kitchen and watched the team work. It’s fun to see a skilled restaurant staff that gets along do their dance.
Favorite tapas dish was empanadas. I ordered it again at the end instead of dessert! Burrata and bahn mi were solid too. Least fav was the foraged mushrooms. The gravy was delish but the mushrooms didn’t seem like anything more than grocery store quality. Portions on all were huge.
Beer and wine lists were great.
Sit at a hightop to watch the kitchen, or at the bar to watch the jellyfish. Sit outside to watch the heroin deals.
Cendy Prator
I went there with friends to celebrate their birthday. The food was really good and I had plenty to take home. My friends go there about once a month as they really love the food. Service was really good except some how I got overlooked.
Susan Swinford
Love tapas! Tried bone marrow for the first time and it was amazing! Nice ambiance.
Allison Potter
Incredible food and amazing service! Will definitely go back.
Robert Imhoff
Lots of choices, though this is Tapa's, I was still shocked at the prices
N C
Mostly very good. The prawn and tuna ceviche style dishes were wonderful as was the Choripan. The crab toast was pretty average and way too salty (and I LOVE salty food, do not like sweet food). They also forgot the crab toast and we had to ask twice. Drinks also took a long time to come out - our first food arrived before our drinks (a draught beer and a cocktail). Cocktail was okay but nothing special.
Ozan Varol
Love this restaurant. Great ambiance and super friendly service. Our favorites from the menu include the empanadas, the crab toast, and the bone marrow. The cocktails are also delicious. Try "what the chef is drinking" and wait for your mind to be blown!
Jocelyn Wang
Food is absolutely amazing. I especially enjoyed the chicken (both the fried and the baked one), squid is also very chewy. Portion isn't very big but the price is worth the deliciousness! Didn't get a chance to try the cocktails/wines. Our server was very friendly and professional.
Teresa Knox
Beautiful atmosphere! Food and drinks were awesome. We loved the happy hour menu. Staff was so friendly. Thank you 😊 we will be back! …
Piyasa Paul
Amazing tapas and drinks! Highly recommend the empanadas and pork belly baos
Ellie Soleymani
I really don’t understand what all the hype is all about. This is one of those places that has become pooular only because of all the hipsters rating it. The food tasted ok but everything was way too greasy. The bone marrows were dripping in oil. The grilled octopus consisted of 4-5 small pieces of octopus and the rest consisted of mostly chorizos. Both my husband and I felt nauseous after this dinner even though we only had 4 small tapas. We were not full at all, just nauseous from all the fat. The service was fast and friendly though. We’ve had WAY better bone marrow and grilled octobus elsewhere. If you are a hispter looking for a place to post on Instagram, then this is for you. If you are looking for real good food for a date night or special occasion then go to OX instead. They have 100% better south american food.
brian lockwood
WOW! So good! Recommended: Do it; eat here!
Bryan Foster
Simply amazing food, we didn't have a reservation but we're seated outside under some shade in less than 5 minutes. The tapas was roundhouse kick to the pallet, and much like a good Bruce Lee movie left me wanting more as I kung-fu danced my way back to the hotel. Simply amazing.
L W
Lechon is wonderful. Excellent food with many vegetarian options, tremendous service (friendly and helpful staff, various people bring out different dishes so they remain warm, the bartender sang along to an impromptu outburst of Journey), great cocktails, and lovely decor and ambience.
Ryan Galle
Excellent restaurant! On the pricier side, for sure, but well worth it. (Picture is of the strawberry cheesecake bite dessert for Portland dining month)
Olivia Cegelka
The food and drinks are great, the atmosphere is wonderful and the staff are friendly and helpful! I loved the entire experience and 100% recommend going here if you want the tapas vibe. Try the promiscuous pesci and Peruvian fried chicken!
Jana Rocheleau
Fun culinary experience! I loved everything 🤩 food was amazing. I ordered several tapas and everything was perfect. The cocktails also paired nicely with the flavors of the food. …
Jennifer Larkin
Hands down our favorite restaurant. The food is always creative and delicious; the drinks are absolutely amazing; and the services is always great. Definitely a must-visit if you're in Portland.
Chris Bowden
Visited here and renewed my love of patatas, and now in need of a support group for bone marrow addiction. Food was fast and tapas let us pick quite a few options compared to most high end joints. Highly recommended.
Mallary Vaughn
Had a great time! Loved the plating, alcohol, food and experience. Our server informed us of specials and 86'd items at the v beginning. Great service.
If I had one complaint,it was my bday and was expressed in the reservation. But wasn't mentioned at the table. Small gesture but important.
Tamara Torrado Chedas
Amazing food! Ceviche was so good! And the staff are so kind. I really recommend this place.
Gawain Pridmore
The food was really good. Servings might be a little small, but the quality of the food is really flavorful. The cool thing is that you can order a menu item that's on the tasting menu without having to order the whole menu. That was awesome because the Mini-Pork Shanks were probably one of my favorite bites.
Isaac Walsleben
We usually make it here for happy hour unintentionally but this time happy hour was over. Oh well, the menu is always great. So glad to dine in during these covid times. They got a pretty cool jelly fish tank that I would never thought to own but I love seeing it. One thing that kind of bugs me is the name "Lechon"
Ethan J
Amazing food, friendly and fast service, great drinks, enjoyed the atmosphere. Was a fun date night spot, will definitely be back!
Josh B
Amazing food and wine! We will be back again to try some more of the menu
Sherry Chin
Many delicious and interesting happy hour choices. Food is meat heavy, so not the best place for vegetarians. We sat at the bar and watched a huge aquarium of jelly fish all night. There's also an incredible salt water fish tank at the end of the bar. Highly recommend!
Jodiestasi
Every bite was delicious! We went there for my Mom's 80th birthday dinner, and she was treated like a Queen. The chef even came out to wish her a great year. Jesse was an awesome, attentive, and funny waiter, and Henry kept the food coming in quick order. It is difficult to say what we liked best, but the bacon wrapped duck breast, brisket empanadas, and shrimp ceviche are a must have. Thank you Lechon for making my Mother feel so special!
Jonathan Manshack
My rating is for Happy Hour. Nice twist for a happy hour but the shrimp ceviche bowl was kinda sparse with food though it was tasty, and my chickpea fritters seamed over cooked as they were quite dry. I've eaten here for dinner (reservations required) and I was very impressed with those meals.
Bar staff was very attentive and did a great job. Just need to tweak the happy hour dishes a tiny bit.
Andres Alcantar
Unique place, great dishes! Awesome staff
Cara Hernandez
Came here for happy hour for our wedding anniversary. One of the best places we have eaten. Highly recommend the chimichurri burger, but everything we tried was delicious. Staff is friendly and attentive. Very busy, though, would advise making a 4:30 reservation for best seating if you want the best happy hour experience.
Alexandra Lee
The price and the food quality perfectly matched with each other. Worth every single penny spent, and every choice on the menu are definitely delectable and to my liking.
The service, however, isn't so consistent. Been here several times, and I would say there was a couple of time that the customer care is missing a bit. But overall, it is a good place to dine, especially for a big group of friends.
Melissa Riley
Came here on a recommendation and I'm glad I did. The cocktail was amazing and unique and lunch was incredible. Both the pork and shrimp were cooked perfectly. Great service at the bar at lunch including knowledgeable and honest recommendations. I plan on coming back next time I'm in Portland.
Julia Yarak
great atmosphere, delicious and creative food! the menu is South American fusion. I loved the duck tacos, the fried chicken, and the salad. They also have very creative cocktails. My only complaint is that the halibut was a little overcooked but it was still tasty.
Leo Golubovsky
Very good food and friendly service. We really enjoyed our food there. Tuna, scallops, duck, burrato - all were excellent. Ordered bit too much so had no room for desert unfortunately.
Jordan Mock
This restaurant has been a favorite of my wife and I for years! We moved out of Oregon in 2018 and hadn’t been back until now (April ‘21) for a visit. We were so happy to see the restaurant has survived the pandemic so far and had a great meal there once again! One thing I absolutely urge the owners and management to do though is please put the pressure on the city to clean it up in the area! We really questioned the safety walking around the restaurant’s neighborhood now, Portland is obviously going down the wrong direction and I’d hate to see another business close! To put that into context, we live in Detroit, MI now and I feel safer walking there than downtown Portland!
TJ Goan
4pm happy hour on Saturday. Place was pretty busy. Excellent service. Beautiful bar. Cocktails were great. Ceviche, brisket empanadas, pork skewers were really really good. We also ordered the octopus which was less good (a little tough), but despite that we'd highly recommend this place.
jesse craft
The food was overrated and the drinks were over rated, no water front view.
K L
The food was very flavorful. The service was friendly. That atmosphere was nice and laid back.
Mz. Strom
The food was so Delicious and the staff so friendly. I love the salads and desserts of chef JoJo he is so cute and Talented
Alan R M
Small delicious plates. Awesome service and food.
S P
Went in for happy hour with friends. More arrived so we were larger than two tables and the place was filling up. They were awesome and set us up in a room at the back that had been previously closed and we had it all to ourselves which was great!
We ordered several rounds of cocktails, wine, beer, and small plates. Each plate and cocktail was distinctively prepared and punctuated by fresh ingredients to perfection and the excellent service never wavered.
Atmosphere is upscale casual in a really lovely building with a view of the river. Happy hour prices are an amazing value. Wonderful wine and beverage selection with crafty touches. Plenty of parking in the lots next door.
Chelsea Way
What a gem, this place has some fantastic food. Small plates with decent prices so you don't feel bad trying a few dishes. New and innovative dishes with a South American spin. Exciting drink menu with combinations you wouldn't think of yourself. Definitely worth a try. They also do monthly dinners where for a flat rate you can enjoy food from the region of the month, next on my list to try. Check this place out, but make reservations, it fills fast!
Jim
Everything we ordered was delicious. So well balanced, flavorful, just so yum. We drove from Candada for the weekend and it totally worth the drive
Paul Bonnaure
Excellent ! I really recommend this place. We ordered 7 plates with friends, all were delicious with very good products. They also have a nice choice of wine. You should go there!
carmen Healy
Friendly family place with excellent and delicious food variety and heavenly desserts!
Ziyue
Everything is so delicious! Foraged mushroom is my favorite!
Penny Fray
We loved the entire experience! The menu was expansive and everything sounded so delicious. We truly enjoyed and savored each dish we got. So much so that I have no pictures. Definitely worth it!
Nathan M
What the Chef is Eating is an amazing dining experience that changes periodically. If you're not as hungry, the empanadas and the octopus are a nice combo.
Tiffany McAbee
Wonderful, relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a get-together with friends or for a romantic date night. The drinks are fabulous and the food is simply divine. When each of the dishes we had ordered arrived at the table, we immediately noticed how beautiful the food was arranged on their plates; truly a chef's work of art. Eating here was an awesome and memorable experience, because I was able to try many new kinds of foods that I'd never tried before; this included octopus, oysters, duck, and bone marrow. It was truly a fun experience dining here. This place is definitely worth visiting at least once!
Phoenix Seymour
Came here on the recommendation of many friends for my Birthday dinner with my grandparents. Surprisingly parking was a breeze, there's a lot and lots street parking just around the corner, even on a Friday night. The staff were welcoming and friendly- great service and food suggestions throughout the visit. The ambiance and decor are fun and beautiful. The food was to die for, we tried a little of everything, everyone really enjoyed the whole experience. We can't wait to go back again.

The food was delicious, I wish I could eat here every day! The service was great! Prices were reasonable and the restaurant itself had a great ambiance. Definitely would recommend.
Marguerite Stephens
Favorite restaurant in Portland. I’m from Texas and I eat lots of meat and cheese but I LOVED the vegan caviar. Everything they make is delicious. The waitstaff has always been great too.
Jeff Schram
The best - tuna and pork belly appetizers, pork chop, Brussel sprouts
Not so good - elote was pre-prepared and cold, octopus served with chorizo was a bad combo with the chorizo overpowering the otherwise good octopus

Excellent food. Great staff and atmosphere. Definitely try this place. It was recommended by staff at Embassy Suites nearby to us. Their LeChon margarita is amazing paring with the tapas dishes like Smoked Octopus, Smoked Bone Marrow and others. Wood fired cooking really brings out flavors along with unique sauce parings. Highly recommend

Beautiful, new, hip, and unique restaurant. The service was fantastic, the food was amazing! If you are used to big portions, don't expect that here, but the flavors.. Delicious! If you go, do get the empanadas, they are crazy good, and I ordered one more after we finished the first set. Our waitress was very informed of the menu, very attentive, and made our experience very enjoyable.

I absolutely love this place! The food is amazing and the place itself has a nice vibe with a pretty mini aquarium inside :) any dish you select you won't be disappointed!

First I was impressed by the aesthetics and decor. Absolutely gorgeous place. But the food was outstanding. We basically died. Let me tell you about the SCALLOPS!!!! OHMYGAWD People. Just eat the scallops. We were lucky to be there for happy hour and ordered a few oysters. They were fantastic. Everything we ate here was exceptional. Amazing evening.

Lechon is a vibrant and mouth satisfying restaurant. The menu is full of delicious small plate/tapas options. You should called ahead and make reservations if you plan to dine on a Saturday night. We had a wait, however it was fun. They sent us to their sister cocktail restaurant around the corner. When our table was ready we received a text and out seating was waiting. Prepare to leave stuffed with good food.

This is a great place for tapas. The plates are decently sized and well priced. Dinner for for was about $60 which is a steal. All the dishes were very very tasty and the flavors amazing. Plates were cleaned and no food was uneaten. Indoor decor was very neat, two aquariums and a modern Spanish look. Longer wait for indoor seating.

Excellent restaurant. Been here about a dozen times for lunch and dinner (dinner is much better in my opinion) and it doesn't disappoint. The service is always good and this time was no exception. Our server was probably 7.5 months pregnant and her attentiveness was superb. The manager, Bran, was fantastic. Super friendly and knowledgeable about wines, great personality. We ordered 4 dishes to share, all of them were excellent...tuna, empanadas, mushroom dish, and brussel sprouts... We ordered the ribeye and it was so flavorful and juicy, cooked perfectly. The only disappointment was the ribs. They were tough, oily, and were not cooked long enough. Cocktails here are very good as well, however, they could have used another half ounce of booze... All in all, a fantastic experience.

Wonderful experience. The skirt steak is delicious. Plan on family style eating as dishes come out as they're ready. Perfectly cooked scallops. The banana caramel pie is really good as was the lemon cheesecake.
Jennifer Johnston
Great happy hour. The shrimp ceviche and burger are our go-to's. I have eaten here many times and it is very consistent and delicious. They also do specialty dinners every month or so throughout the year which are dinners from different regions. Seems like a blast. Indoor, bar and outdoor seating.
AJ Simmons
Pat delivered super service. Great place to dine and chat with small plates. Fun way to try new dishes. Brussel sprouts were outstanding. Enjoyed pork belly, baked Dungeness toast, corn fritters, shrimp ceviche and brisket empanadas All plates were good. Tried several cocktails. What the chef drinks was good, resembled an old fashioned. We sampled another which resembled a pisco sour; refreshing. Make a reservation. Parking next door is an option. Safety protocols were in place.

My friend Margo and I had a wonderful experience last Friday night at your establishment! Our Server Lily was very knowledgeable about the food and wines being served! Will be back soon😺 …
Jonas Parker
Super cool interior (jellyfish + industrial chic) and location (right on the river). The homemade soda was awesome and the fried chicken sandwich is unique, delicious, and perfectly portioned. Everyone in my group had one (it was recommended!) and enjoyed.
Brian Black
I asked a friend what she recommends. She said everything. I agree... the food is amazing.
Andrei Iotici
Price per quality and quantity was great. The vegan seviche was a revelation in concept and execution, especially for a non vegan such as myself. The marrow dish got old quickly as it wasn't as balanced as it could have been. Those were the highs and lows. Everything else was pretty on-point. Wine selection was very decent and staff was friendly and knowledgeable about menu and wine pairings.
MommaT
Hello my daughter and 2 of her friends so 6 total with moms. Had the absolute pleasure of eating at this amazing restaurant. Riley was our server and she was AWESOME!! The food was totally divine and Riley’s service was excellent!! Loved the Brussel sprouts and the shrimp ceviche!!! Next time I’m in Portland we will be back!! 💙 from SD Ca.

Wonderful food. Excellent service. Delicious cocktails.

Great ambience, amazing food, and delicious drinks.
Justine DeVore
Lechon has a beautiful atmosphere inside and out. It's also really nice to have such unique cultural food. The cocktails are on point, and I highly recommend trying the bone marrow appetizer. There's also a wonderful guitar player on Sundays.

Everyone says you come to Portland to eat and drink. They’re right! We wanted to try something unique and different. From the moment we walked in the door, we knew we hit a gold mine. The ambiance is so inviting and the food is unreal. Peruvian fried chicken bites are like nothing you’ve had before and the cocktails were very unique and delicious. The food came out so fast and our waitress staggered our courses perfectly. Service was exceptional. For what we got we felt our money was well spent and we can’t wait to go back with friends.

We had a late reservation to celebrate our graduate. The server, Joe, was excellent. The food was exquisite. The manager and staff went out of their way to make our parry of eleven feel welcome. You should come and try the eclectic menu. And do not forget dessert. Soooooo delicious!
Roman Schauer
We got a 7:30 table here for a Friday night. The food was good although there were a few misses among the four of us. Grilled octopus & bone marrow were hits and the oysters they had that night were especially good. The pork cheeks could have been a little more tender. The pork belly was over-cooked and charred, losing its unctuousness. Salads and wood-fired vegetables were all good. As for ambiance, our table was in a back area that is basically a large stairwell and reminded me of the creative seating at some European places, albeit lacking the charm. In the summer I assume these seats would be outside. Service was good. Total with two rounds of specialty drinks and assorted a la carte items put us at $60 each. I'd go back but I'd look for a different table.
Mike Solomon
Probably my favorite restaurant in Portland. I had been going here for lunch for a long time and they were always pretty good - but the dinner tapas plates puts that to shame. I'd strongly recommend just trying a variety of the tapas plates rather than going for any entrees or the 5 course menu they offer. I'd also recommend going with a group as it's more fun if you get to try many different dishes. On top of the food, their service is always spectacular. Would highly recommend this place :)
Nicole S
Good atmosphere and service. Food was delicious, particularly the blue crab and the mushroom dish.
Edit 3 years later: this place is still one of my favorites. They always have new dishes and never have I tried anything here I didn't love.
Jake Rose
Food was great
Varma Penumetcha
Food, ambience, and service were very good at this place. I found enough options for being a vegetarian. Wait time was about an hour and twenty minutes for a Friday evening without reservation ahead of time. There is public parking less than a block away from the restaurant.
Cody James Pace
My new favorite restaurant. First off the design and decor is top notch. Really beautiful and inviting. The staff is next level and could not be more helpful. They really have a superior level of customer service and lastly the food. The chef prepared a special 3 course meal for us and every bite was better than the last. I am getting hungry just thinking about it. Everything was perfectly portioned and so fresh. I cannot wait to go back and try their lunch and breakfast menus.
Kris Nickerson
Wow. Came here at the recommendation of Scott at Royal Sonesta hotel. Loved it!!
Rebecca L
What a great place! Went here with my family and we ordered everything tapas style to share. There is a wide variety of things to try. My one feedback is most of the tapas are crostini style or have bread incorporated some how...when sharing a variety with a group of people this becomes to be overpowered by the bread theme.
For an entree I tried their short ribs and they were delicious! I would have liked to see a side dish included with this meal.
Keep in mind this restaurant is quite pricey and small. Be sure to make reservations in advance and be a little weary to sit outside. We had 3 instance surrounding our meal where we were interrupted by transients walking by.
Wendy Kleinfeldt
Seriously one of the best restaurants in Portland. I came here during Portland Dining Month, and I ate till I dropped. There was not one thing that I didn't enjoy. Their tapas quantities are rather generous. The drinks are great, and I just love the vibe. It gets super busy, so just be patient with that. Definitely recommend a reservation.
LeeAnn Gauthier
Amazing sidewalk dining - complete with security on a hoverboard to clear out the riff-raff. Nice ceviche and South American dishes. We enjoyed their Portland Dining Month 3-course meal in March 2019.
amandeep kaur
The food was too good. Tried the vegetarian options on the menu and loved it all. The drinks menu can be better but never the less good ambience, serving and delightful food.
Jesica Brown
The food was so delicious and the waiter was super friendly and helpful! I will definitely come back again. The prices are fair for the portion and food quality. Parmesan fries were excellent! The chocolate Tart was divine! My one issue is that I had to Google some words on the menu that I had never heard of. Great food and service!
Kenny Werner
Went for happy hour, and the selection was good. We tried several things, and they were all excellent. The mussels and chorizo sandwich were highlights. The veggie burger was a little plain, but other than that, the meal was excellent.
Kareem Alston
I went for a second time last night. It might have been the best meal I've had all year. Everything was tasty, the waiter was generous, and the old fashions were delicious. They had a chef's special smoky old fashioned that was really cool. I had a old fashioned with mezcal and it really worked. The octopus was so tender, the steak and peppers were great, the Peruvian chicken was juicy and substantial. The food here was creative and there were surprises hidden in every dish we ordered. For example, there was a chorizo and potato medley with salsa verde under the octopus that was impeccable. There was a coconut rice pudding cake looking thing next to the steak that we wanted order more of separately, because it was so good. The outdoor seating was also very nice. We will be back.
Kelly Pierce
Food was good. Mushroom breakfast tacos had a pleasing texture, but lacked basic salt and pepper. If you don't put seasoning on your tables, it's assumed you are doing that for us. Seasoning was light on all dishes. Would also be nice to have a Vegetarian alternative to the "What The Chef is Eating" menu as well, as we came for the family style eating. Service was slow.
Dave B
This place had a great atmosphere and fantastic food. We would definitely go here again. Amazing drinks as well. I had a mixed cocktail that was served with vodka with infused pineapple and habanero. It was perfect.y wife had mussels and I had the waygu burger. Both were very impressive meals.
Man Nguyen
Been here twice (more to come). Food was really good. Had burger one time, and meatloaf special another time. Both tasted great.
Decor was fantastic. Never seen indoor jellyfish tank.
Heidi Kruck
We came for happy hour and were pretty impressed. The house wine was good and tapas were fantastic. The place was relaxed and the server was super friendly, even recommending a couple things based on what we had already ordered. I'll definitely be back!
Shivali Sharma
Love the food there. Very different flavors
Jennifer Zanocco
We got take out, selecting close to 1/2 the menu (the port chop, short ribs, lamb, octopus, brussel sprouts, potatoes, banana and dulce de leche pie). Everything was really good. And that's tough with take out. It was hard to select a favorite. Everything disappeared! The staff member who helped us was super chill and helpful when I called to place our order.
Karl Norman
Food was good, service was good, atmosphere was good. I liked the eclectic menu, lots of small plates to share is the way to go. Good bar selection rounds the place off well. The atmosphere is completely detached from the street, so you can easily while away a few hours without thinking of anything but food, drink and company.
Tom Etheridge
The food was outstanding, the avocado and smoked trout toast particularly so. The smoked bone marrow and lomo saltado were also worth noting. Service was rushed and no one came to take our drink order for at least 10 minutes after we were seated.
Kellie Kraynak
Had never heard of this place, but a friend suggested it for brunch on Easter. I was very pleasantly surprised. THE BEST brunch I have had in Portland ever! There were 6 of us, combined we tried nearly everything on the brunch menu. Every plate was amazing. Great attention to detail from the kitchen & wait staff.
Dominic Ventura
The food is very good, delicate and high end, but ultimately I'd rather spend that kind of money somewhere nicer. You can get three times the experience for that value somewhere else. It's all exceptional, but overpriced If you ask me. The most notable was the bone marrow and calamari.
Maxwell Schoofs
My new favorite spot.
Eat time we order more than we can eat cause it is all so good.
turk fickling
Simply put, if you're in Portland Oregon, and your looking for a great South American steakhouse goto LeChon.
Rob McMillan
Good vibe. Good service and food with variable flavors between different dishes. We'll worth sharing plates. Above average wine list with local and a light smattering of international and out of state offerings. Prices are more than reasonable.
Allen Y
Place is good, ambience is lovely. Food also wasn't bad. I tried to order the pork belly, only for the server to come back and say "the last pork belly they have is now reserved for someone special". I was from out of town and specifically booked the restaurant only to be told I'm not special enough for that pork belly. They could've just said they ran out and left it at that. They could work on their customer service. Lol
Harald Smit
Best restaurant bar none in Portland. Go make no choices other than ordering what the chef is eating and drinking. Go about once a month - I truly love this place. I have eaten at the best restaurants in the world and this place stands out in Portland and America. Don’t hesitate just do it. Love love love this place!!!
Eva W
Made a reservation and came here for a company dinner on a weeknight. Absolutely gorgeous interior, with a giant jellyfish tank behind the bar.
It was pretty empty, so the waitstaff was attentive; the bartender was creative and let us try items that were potentials for next month's menu.
The food was beautifully presented and delicious (though portions are small, as expected). If they're on the menu when you go, the scallops were amazing!
Lechon is great for a special occasion or client meal, but I wouldn't put this on the regular rotation due to portion size to cost ratio. Have a good time!
Jacob DeGraw
This was my first experience with South American food, so while I'm not able to say if it was authentic or not, I can definitely say the food was exceptional. I would highly recommend trying the "What the chef is eating"; a seven course meal that is brought to your table either on personal plates, or family style. The restaurant is a little small and loud, so I wouldn't rate it highly on the romantic factor, but if you just want to have an enjoyable night out with delicious food, I highly recommend Lechon.
T
The food is absolutely delicious! I put in the reservation we were celebrating a birthday and they wrote a birthday card and were so extra sweet
Zixiang Pan
Delightful selections of tapas.
Vassil Mollov
Tried 4 tapas all delicious. Its a unique place.
Monica Clark
One of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time. Delicious food and great staff. Make sure to order the shrimp ceviche and the gaucho bread which is grilled to perfection. We definitely over ordered and stuffed ourselves but it was so good we couldn't stop
Emma H
This is the best food I have eaten in Portland. I traveled to Portland every week for 4 months and went out to eat a lot. I wish I tried LeChon sooner. Prices are outrageously good, especially for the amount of food that they give you. I went with colleagues and we managed to order over half the menu, and not a single thing disappointed us. We all left in awe. Definitely recommend!!!
Mary Morris
This is a charming restaurant! There is great care in food preparation, the atmosphere is lively and serene at the same time. Go early—by 6:00 in a Friday there was a long line of people waiting for tables. The food is delicious and a nice change from the normal Portland cuisine.
Austin Anderson
Elegantly done food at a very resonable price. Everything on the menu sounded incredible, and the four different dishes we tried did not let us down. The pork dish we had was just perfect. The overall experience was very positive. Would reccomend to anyone. Not the easiest dining location to spot, near the waterfront without much signage. Looking forward to future visits to this restaurant!
Matthew Stovall
I have to rate this five stars because it's so good but I also don't want anyone to know about this place because it can be so hard to get a table.
This is where I take people who are visiting Portland, to make them jealous that they don't live in Portland.
There's a drink on the menu called "What the Chef Is Drinking" that is a concoction of liquid and smoke that is incredibly delicious. Ask for a "What the Chef". they'll think you're a local.
I cannot write words adequate to describe the food, it is literally so magnificent. Go tapa-style and order a few things to share, then a few more, then more ... the Gaucho Bread and the corn fritters should not be missed. The Empanadas are spectacular, and the Peruvian Chicken Bites are wonderful. There's the wild mushroom plate, definitely get that. I mean order everything on the menu, you literally cannot go wrong.
Alfredo Spada
Very beautiful inside end outside, the ribs are special, the staff is very friendly
Joanna Fleskes
This was a great find. Ambience was nice. The wait staff were attentive and helpful answering our questions. The shrimp ceviche was light and refreshing with great flavor. Our favorite was the fried chicken bites. They were so,so good! We will be back!
K. Ching
Great food. Exceptional waitstaff.
GA M
Amazing Food! We were so amazed by all the dishes we ordered first run and we ended up ordering more and more even after we were already full lol All the dishes truly have layers, originality and complexity, which even most of the high rating restaurants lack of.
Isabella M
Great place. Really delicious food. Mushroom dish was perfect. So many more things on the menu that I wanna try...Next time!
Nancy Thakkar
Absolutely loved everything, especially the empanadas and cheese and corn fritters which are like hush puppies . octopus and Peruvian chicken bites were good as well.
Narine Harut
Very cozy place with nice decor. We went for lunch and because we were traveling, we had our cat(in carry on) with us, so I asked waitress if we can sit outside with our cat, she said "yes". After few minutes we realized that because of cold, we couldn't sit outside, so I asked if we could go inside. She double checked with manager and let us in. I was really thankful. Food was really delicious 😋. We will definitely come back.
