Centrico has the most delicious traditional + modern Mexican food I’ve really ever eaten. I would highly recommend stopping in for their Tacos Vegetal, it seems highly over looked yet it is outstanding tasty. The taco ingredients offered a variety of textures and flavors, and I would absolutely get it again. On top of it all, the margarita I ordered was equally as good as the food. Thanks Centrico!

In the city for a visit and was looking for a place to go to dinner. WOW -- this was amazing. I wish I could go again before leaving. Our waitress, Bailey, was super friendly and made great recommendations. Drinks (sandria margarita - pictured one on the rocks and one frozen) were great, salsa (pictured) has a nice kick to it, and the birria enchiladas (pictured) were AMAZING! Do yourself a favor and try it out!

Lone lunch time visit to this 5 year old business. As the first customer of the day, I ordered chips, salsa, guacamole and the chicken enchiladas. The well sated chips are amazingly thin, but hold up to the guacomole dipping. Guacamole is very fresh with large chuncks of fresh avocado. The salsa is also fresh, not too hot or mild, just perfect today to my liking. The chicken enchiladas are outstanding. The only improvement was to add some of fresh guacamole to what the kitchen brought out. I listened to customers come in after me and heard the following from fellow diners, "Dinner was so good last night we came back for lunch today." & "we always come here when we are in town." Service paid attention to details and kept checking to see if I needed anything else.

Definitely a cool historic building to stay in! But dont expect to have huge rooms or the latest and greatest here. The lobby is beautifull. The location is magnificent and the restaurants surrounding are some of the best ive experienced.

Though the restaurant was full inside, the manager accommodated our large group with outdoor seating. We went on a very hot day but the patio had shades which made the heat bearable. Service was good. The location is in a beautiful hotel building. They have a large selection of tequila and other alcohol. The food was great, though my Birria was a bit more dry than I’m used to. The favorite of the group was the chilaquiles. Overall, a great experience.

One of my the best dining experiences I've had in a while! The Sandia margarita was phenomenal and absolutely recommend. Quality ingredients and flavor. The enchiladas and veggie tacos also were perfect! Not to mention our server was so friendly and fun. I plan to return anytime I'm in the area :)

Small restaurant under the hotel San Carlos. Food is great and service is top notch. I recommend saving room for the churros - the caramel filling and the chocolate dip, not to sweet, delicious!

A surprise find during my walk around town. Enjoyed immensely the Flautas de Papa. Four to a serving and I cleaned the plate clean. Small dining area located inside the Hotel San Carlos.

It was braunch for me during my visit in phoenix downtown. I found the place is small, but food is good. They do have a small bar. A lot of place on the ouside cum patio. The food was not the the best, but it was okay. I enjoyed the food. On the price side, i found it was not very expensive, so you get good value of money you spend.

Located in a historic hotel the restaurant is quaint and non pretentious. Husband and I elected to dine outside. Our server Shelby was an absolute delete and we had a great dialogue. I tried a margarita with mescal and it was intriguing. Husband had a negra modella beer and enjoyed it very much. I enjoyed the barria enchilada and husband had the chile verde dish. Both were full of flavor and great spices. Price point was good. A great dining experience in a relaxed atmosphere.

Found this place by accident, or maybe divine intervention. Hands down, some of the best food I’ve had anywhere. The tequila selection is second to none and the service is top notch. I ended up eating lunch here 3 days in a row on a recent business trip and tried something different each day. The manager was helpful in selecting some new tequilas to try and made the effort to learn my name and greeted me by name on my last visit. I’ll be back whenever I can make it back to phoenix.

Visited Centrico before a concert lastnight and the food & service was amazing as always! The prickly pear margarita is so refreshing & has the perfect touch of sweetness. I love to order the flautas de papa. I recommend trying out the birria beef enchiladas; they were so flavorful. I had to take some from my fiance 😆 The queso fundido is a must have for you cheese lovers! Centrico is my favorite place to go for authentic mexican food & yummy cocktails. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. Thank you Edson for taking great care of us.

The food was good but I believe the waitress was new. She never came back to ask if we wanted anything else like water or dessert, etc. I had to track her down to get her to come back to our table. If you're going to get a great tip from me, I expect great service. I was in the holiday spirit so I gave her a 25% tip. :-) Merry Christmas, new girl. Lol

This is such a nice retro restaurant!! It was so meaningful to have the owner himself bring me my food and explain all the intricate details of every ingredient. You can tell he truly loves what he does. My waiter was so nice and detailed as well. Eating here was a great way to start my trip in Arizona. I wish I could have stayed longer!! Also I’m such a picky eater but I enjoyed every thing they brought out it had so much flavor and spice I even ate the onions lol and I hate onions. I’m so happy I came to Céntrico!

Locally owned with an outstanding staff! It was within walking distance of our hotel (Sheraton) and we visited based on other reviews. We're super glad we did the salads are huge and delicious and the guac and chips were just what we'd expect in an authentic Mexican restaurant.

Had an amazing time here with good food and great drunks for brunch with my girls. The Shrimp Empanada was amazing...a little spicy but good! The drinks were fresh with a natural sweetness. I had the Jamaica Margarita and Sandia Margarita...both were really good. And the churros were fresh and hot. Our waiter was awesome...all staff had on masks and patrons were sat a good distance apart...even for the outside seating. I will surely come back to try the dinner menu soon. The owner was also friendly and provided a great safe atmosphere for me and my fellow Mrs. to catch up and have good conversation, food, and drinks.

All the food I've tried is pretty good, the asada tacos were pretty bland, the birria enchiladas are delish! Their margaritas are fantastic. I will definitely go back, it's a very small for indoor seating, but with the cooler weather allows for comfortable use of the outdoor seating area they have.

I would definitely suggest stopping here for their tacos vegetarian, which appear to be greatly overlooked yet are quite delicious. The components in the tacos had a variety of tastes and textures, and I would definitely order them again.

This place is FABULOUSITY! Put this place on your “bucket list” of places to dine in Downtown Phoenix ASAP! We stopped by recently & Edson (owner) remembered me from only 1 visit 3 years ago! John , our waiter is a consummate customer service rock star. There’s limited seating, but plenty of seating on the patio. Get there as early as you can, but even if there is a wait, it’s well worth it!

Great small spot, would have liked them to be a little bit more flexible with the selection of taco you can order. Some reason they only allow you to order them 4's and would think if they were made individually they could easily mix and match different types.

Great Authentic Mexican Food. My family and friends ate there Sunday morning. Fantastic food, great service, real good Authentic flavors!! The owner and staff were absolutely wonderful! This is honestly my favorite place to go for enchiladas and margaritas!!! The Jamaican margarita is the best thing I have ever tasted and if you get it blended it’s even better. The owner is soooo friendly and literally told me what goes into making the enchilada and how they use fresh ingredients! I’ve only had good experiences here! I want to go back all the time! If you go on the weekends and it’s hot make sure to make reservations! It gets really hot outside if you have to eat out there. I would recommend this place to everyone!!!

Chili Verde is excellent. Also, I got the queso dip appetizer. Finnished it off with chiros and yummy Mexican chocolate sauce. So good. Had a pleasantly spicy Chipotle margarita. Spent like $46, including tip. Go here to eat if in downtown Phoenix!!

Today I am in Phoenix Arizona at Céntrico Mexican cuisine. Located on The corner of Monroe Street and Central Avenue Inside the historic San Carlos hotel in downtown Phoenix. Open for breakfast and late night eats. For starters, I had the shrimp empanadas. Sautéed shrimp, chipotle Sofrito, With habanero aïoli. Which was super addicting. And I also ordered the chorizo burrito. Great tasting, cheesy, and with a freshly made pico de gallo. 🌯 Last but not least, The Jamaica Margarita. Made with hibiscus flower, tequila reposado, Orange bitters, and sweeten to perfection with maguey syrup. Very refreshing, and balanced margarita. Oohh!!!! Great food and service!! Location and views are amazing. Next time I want to try the patio to people watch, but we were near the window so it was still great. We tried the guacamole (had a good kick), queso fundido (mmm) and flautas with potato filling (yumm).. Would I get all 3 again? Yes! I had the fish tacos and they were awesome and so was the rice. We also had chicken enchiladas and chicken tinga tacos.. everyone gave it a thumbs up. Watermelon margarita was tasty too.. and dont forget the churros. They are good but you have to give them time to cool down. There is a Carmel center and it is hot. We will definitely be back.

Centrico was very good. The guacamole is hand mixed by your server at the table to your liking. You can have it any way between very chunky and very fine. It tasted very fresh and had a nice kick to it as well. The fish tacos were also very tasty. The fish was light and the flavor mix was well balanced. Service was a bit slow but not dealbreaking. I would definitely recommend visiting if in Phoenix.

What a great addition to the downtown area. I always love to visit new and upcoming places in the uptown and downtown Phoenix area, support locals! This place has yet to disappointment, unique drinks and great tasting food. Every so often they offer specialty dishes with great flavors and not you so traditional Mexican food. I have tried just about everything here and everything has been excellent. One of my favorite drinks is the Chipotle Margarita, great taste and has a nice little kick to it! David, one of the bartenders, is great all around, best drinks and great service. Come with an open mind and an empty stomach, you will for sure leave with a big smile. The evening I was there, they were serving a delicious steak plate and a great dessert to go along with it.

Another hidden jewel in the heart of downtown Phoenix. Inside the hotel Monte Carlos you will find this restaurant bar. If you visit them you won't regret it. Food was amazing, we tried the shrimp empanadas with a habanero sauce. The drinks were unique for me. In the menu you can find drinks such Ayi ai ai ( made with egg whites an ingredient), Chipotle margarita, Watermelon margaritas and Old fashion to name a few. They also have an extensive background with tequilas. The location is small perfect for a causal meeting, romantic conversation and overall to enjoy good service.

Absolutely loved this restaurant! Portions are perfect. Not too much or to little. And the flavors are very authentic. I highly reccomend the coffee! So smooth, not bitter aftertaste at all!! I'm not one to drink coffee black but I could definitely have done that with this one!

Gluten free friendly restaurant with helpful and fun staff and great music. I specifically came for the pozole and was not disappointed. It's a bowl of heaven. The broth was a wonderful lightly spicey infusion of pork, pork fat, onion, cilantro, and chille. The actual pork and hominy were soft and flavorful. Almost as good as mom's pozole. ;) I also recommend the sandia margarita. The parking is the only downside. Was kinda hard to find a spot. If you can take the train though, that's totally doable. Overall - five stars.

Best chicken club sandwich I’ve had in a long time! This place has got to expand so they can be able to have more customers. Ordered chips and salsa, I’m not a big salsa fan but this was really good, plenty of crispy chips, portions are a good amount from the sides to the main dish. I’d definitely come back to try other menu items Owner even took the time to come on over and introduce himself and thank us for visiting his restaurant. Very friendly and engaging staff

Came in around noon on Sunday so things seemed to be pretty slow, I ordered shrimp tacos and a paloma. Both were great but it was the customer service that made this spot stand out in an area already saturated with great restaurants. Both servers on duty were very attentive and spoke to me about my food. I was also incredibly impressed with the manager who talked to me about the ingredients they use in their cocktails and then on my way out he interrupted the meeting he was having on the patio to shake my hand and wish me a good day. Definitely above and beyond all around.

In a scramble to find brunch, we found this to be a wonderful surprise. The food was delicious (specifically the Migas/ Chilaquiles Rojos) and not super expensive. Service was spectacular, friendly, and quick. In and out within 45 minutes. The men working were very attentive and definitely a solid crew. Highly recommend.

Came for breakfast and was torn between the Chilaquiles and Chili Verde Omelette. After I ordered the omelette, I saw the chilaquiles come out to the person sitting next to me and immediately thought I blew it. But I didn't. The omelette was amazing. Service was awesome too.

I would recommend Centrico for anyone visiting the area. Interesting and different margaritas and cocktails. I had the enchiladas - very fresh - nice mix of green sauce and red sauce. Not a lot of gluten free options, but there are a few with corn tortillas. Staff is very attentive.

Chili strings atop my drink, crispy chorizo in a chopped salad after a long hot day, and two orders of tacos with flavor-packed sauces! I was too busy enjoying every bite to take any more pictures of the delicious food and won’t apologize for my selfish actions. This place is so delicious! Busy and for good reason! The staff was helpful and great about the attention they give. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star is because they had only 1 option for those who can't eat spicy. So this place may be better suited for a small group of people, not a diverse group of eaters. I would definitely eat here again with my spicy eating friends, although it was a bit much for me too ha ha

Ate lunch on the interior, although you could eat on the outside patio as well. The dining area is small, clean and comfortable, not overly crowded. I ate fish tacos, which are smaller size tacos with four on the plate, that were very tasty. If you’re hungry, this won’t fill you up so order chips too. Wait staff were friendly, but only visited the table to bring the food and drink and not to check on how the meal was or refill drinks, although not a major concern it was a disappointing. I recommend putting portion size on the menu so diners get disappointed when the food is delivered. Will return to this place again.

Really good Mexican food! From the asada tacos, to the enchiladas, to the Chile verde, and to the margaritas, just plain good Mexican food. Small, quaint restaurant inside the lobby of the classic San Carlos Hotel, it has a very nice eclectic feel to it also. Definitely wanna have a seat on their patio during the nicer months.

The service here is good at best, and the atmosphere is quite nice, but its the food that stands out at this Oaxacan-style Mexican restaurant. The food is outstanding enough for me to drop a five-star review despite my feelings about the service level. The Chile Verde is the best I have ever had, and I've been known to judge Mexican restaurants by this dish alone. The margaritas flow nicely here. Highly recommended.

Share the enchiladas and steak tacos, had an appetizer of guacamole. The food was okay. The specialty drinks were good, a little overpriced for what it was, and the service was okay. It is a far stretch to say that this is the most authentic Mexican food that you can have, or the best in town. It's a place to eat, the people are nice, close to hotels, and it's convenient. But that's it.

We stopped in for a bite to eat before going to a local theater. We had the shrimp tacos, fish tacos and a salad. Everything was delicious. I was especially impressed with the amount of different things like the sauce, veggies and seasoning that came with a $2.50 per taco order. But the food was fresh and the fish was well prepared. The service was good. This probably helped because it was a little slow, but we are not complaining.

If you're gonna be a little salty, at least bring tequila. When you visit here be ready for some of Edson's tequila recommendations. I thought I had a taste for tequila, but whatever I had, Edson amplified it by 10. The owner knows his tequila! He's friendly and his team follows his lead. Everyone is helpful, the glasses are always full and the food is always tasty. *I recommend the shrimp empanadas! Nicely located near the ballpark and arena, you can sit on the patio and enjoy the warm evening air.

My friend and I had lunch here in February when we visited for a conference. This lunch was in my top 3 BEST authentic Mexican food experiences ever. The service was great as well. I could tell from the moment we walked in that it was going to be great. Friendly servers and happy, smiling customers. We had the Queso Fundido with chorizo. Amazing! We also had shrimp tacos and chicken tacos and finished with a churro. I've never had churros stuffed with caramel. Yummy! Definitely stop here if you can!

Delicious!! One of the best Mexican food places I've had. I was skeptical about it at first when I saw they only had a few items on their menu. Don't pass this experience by! I was in Phoenix for business, staying at Hotel San Carlos, arrived in the evening and chose Centrico because of its proximity. Lesson learned, if you're arriving after 630 the waitlist can be at least 1 hour so, get on the list early. They use a wonderful online system where you can track your place in line, and you'll receive a text when your table is ready. I got on the list and hung out in my room until my seat was ready. I sat at the bar which gives a front row view of the waitstaff and kitchen window and I was seriously impressed with the level of intention and attention to detail by everyone from the hostess, waiters, bar tender, and the bus boy. The service was beyond expectation. I ordered the Chile Verde (with dietary restrictions) without issue. It was my far THE BEST Chili Verde I have ever eaten! From beginning to end this was a wonderful experience, if you have the opportunity to eat here, don't pass it up!

Went for dinner last night. Food was fresh and delicious. It was not overly salty/spicy/cheesey, etc like some mexican-style places. Portions were moderate, but sufficient in my opinion. (If you are really hungry, athletic, etc, you will want to buy two plates). Service was wonderful. Environment was pleasant and fun. The music was upbeat Latino dance music- much nicer than the loud club music that most restaurants were playing. A great place to go with my husband and baby. My wife & I have been here twice - once for breakfast & once for dinner. Both times were excellent. This is a VERY small place so I recommend reservations. Looks like they're on the YELP virtual waitlist app now so check if they still take reservations. For breakfast we started with the queso fundido with chorizo. Entrees were the chorizo burrito, El Mexicano (eggs, papas, beans) & a side of hotcakes. Add in a few watermelon margaritas and we were good to go! On our dinner visit (two weeks later - as we couldn't wait to go back!) we had the chips & guac, shrimp empanada, chicken enchiladas, fish tacos and of course........more margaritas! The owner, Edson, and the rest of the staff were great. Looking forward to our next visit soon!

Stayed at the Westin and wanted a late breakfast after a late night. This place deserves to be way busier than it is. The things you expect are available: good food, good service, good ambiance. However, the subtelty is what really makes this place so good for me. The butter isn't your average stuff from the grocery store like other places, the jam is solid, the bread is well above average, and even the salt and pepper are excellent. Great flavors. Been wanting to check out this new spot for a lil while now and last night was the night! We were out on our 1st official date as "Husband and Wife" and couldn't be more satisfied with the service, food and treatment we received while there. She had the Chicken Enchiladas, I ordered the Asada Tacos, and to our surprise they were humbly served by none other then Mr. Madrigal himself! He then gave us a brief but detailed insight regarding what our dishes consisted of, which only added to our whole dining experience. This is a great little spot. It is small, but packed with style. Mexican inspired modern art, black and white movies from Mexico on the upper portion of the wall, and an AMAZING tequila/mezcal collection. The food is tasty. The menu is a bit limited (queso, green chile, burgers, tacos to name a few) but what they have is flavorful. The margaritas are great. Give the small local guy a try!

This is the restaurant that I mentioned being right inside the bottom floor of the Hotel San Carlos. At Centrico you go in and you can really feel how old the building is. This is a very nice touch because a lot of people do not get to see very many old buildings if they live in Phoenix. Cool cool place.
