Reviews of Talula's Garden

Great place ! We recommend this place and make a reservation !! Even if there is a lot of seating, reservations are strongly recommended.
You will be very welcomed by the team.
While waiting for your table, get a cocktail at the bar. The bartender is cool and makes good cocktails, well balanced !
Then we experienced the muffins to start and to share... Hum delicious !
The burger to follow was amazing (cooked medium for everyone - perfect !) And benedictine eggs were juicy.
We loved the atmosphere as well. We will go back !

Wow the food here is absolutely fabulous! The attention to detail of how each of the ingredient is being used yields the most delicious and flavorful plate. The toast was perfectly crispy. The avocado toast is really delicious with slices of radish and lots of pistachios on top and just the right amount of acidity from lemon juice. We got the eggs Benedict. The eggs were perfectly poached. The potatoes are the best breakfast potatoes we have ever had. They were crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked in the inside, tender and not too dry. We also got the chicken and waffles which were delicious. The chocolate croissants were incredible. The local scramble with bacon was delicious! The food here is tasty! We are looking forward to coming back here again. The outdoor seating and garden is also very cute and a pretty place to enjoy.

Yet another strong showing from one of the Starr Restaurants. Starting with the service, very attentive and professional. You can tell that they don't skimp on their workforce, there's enough well-trained staff on the floor that the guests are truly taken cared of. The drink was well made (we asked for the Pilot but with gin and not too sweet, and they adjusted nicely). The appetizer was ricotta ravioli with some pickled vegetables, which may sound slightly unusual for me but they pulled it off well. We had 2 entrees. First the roasted chicken with crispy skin, perfectly done, not oily at all, it felt like eating a full fledged fried chicken but without most of the sins. Second was the Pennsylvania short rib, also very nice and smoky flavor. Dessert was the Key Lime souffle + Graham ice cream, beautiful combination of tangy & slightly sweet. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. Of note, a friend of mine was telling me to try the cheese plate appetizer next time.

I'll stick on 4 star since I can't do decimals. In some ways, this fell a little short of expectations for, what I think is, a Starr flagship restaurant. The service is pretty much 5-stars at all his places - he mandates that and I'll call that out as something you will ALWAYS get at Starr location. Great location and pretty decor. Atmosphere of other patrons was a little stuffy but that's circumstantial. The food felt like it was somewhere between a 3.5 and 4. Tasty and fresh without a doubt but maybe lacked some complexity or extra oomf I was looking for. The waiter made suggestions and we veered off of them for some items, and after we got we wanted he told us one of the items we got was 'what they're known for' - Confusing statement...if you're known for something, why wouldn't you recommend it? 🤷♂️ Also, for some reason, they let the restaurant get to a sweltering temperature and for a period I couldn't get the attention of anyone to say something about it and it made enjoying the meal unpleasant. The mushroom soup was bananas- good. We really liked the Ravioli also.
I'll revisit at some point to see if it maintains but as far as 4 stars, this was more like high 3s.

*HIGHLY RECOMMEND*
5/5 Stars
Talula's Garden is highly rated and for a good reason. The place is nicely decorated, a chic farmhouse style with lots of plants. The produce they use are super fresh as it comes directly from the producers/farmers/gardeners etc. The one page seasonal menu has lots of options and prices are a bit on the higher side. But the quality of the food is definitely there and you’ll be leaving very satisfied. We ordered the summer Tomato soup, tuna and watermelon ceviche which was super refreshing for the summer, Seared sea scallop and gulf shrimp, and Smoked pork belly. Also the basil ice cream in the warm blueberry peach crisp was to die for!!
*VERDICT*
Definitely will come back again! I want to try their brunch next!

The food was really good. The menu changes every month. Nothing was disappointing. Everything was very flavorful and they were bold flavors. This is a great place for romantic dates and it is a bit pricey but it’s not too bad. The price is worth it for the food you’re getting. I would come again.

We had a great dining experience here, we told the server that we were in a rush, and she really make sure our food arrive quickly. We ordered a cucumber salad, bisque my biscuit, pork belly and scallop, everything is very well made especially the pork belly, the flavor is rich but not overpowering, the scallops are fresh and tasty. The only thing that I didn’t quit enjoy was the cucumber salad, it’s a bit plain, maybe that’s what they were going for. But overall good food and services.

Delicious! From the first walk down the alley into the dark foyer, I was impressed and excited to eat. It was beautifully decorated inside and out. The waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. The cocktail and wine selection were perfect and went well with the meal. For appetizers, the mushroom pizza was phenomenal. Seafood was our choice for dinner and it did not disappoint!

The roasted chicken with brown butter gnocchi was beyond juicy with a seasoned crispy skin!!! Large enough for 2 meals!!! The short ribs were delicious, but the portion size was small. Rhe honey black pepper butter with the biscuits was delicious! Incredible dinner!!! The non alcoholic cocktail called Pilot was amazing!!! I can't wait to go back!!!

We had a wonderful dinner with our guests who came from out of town. The service is amazing, in one word. Very successful food, very delicious. I heartily congratulate all the team. I will definitely come back and I would definitely recommend the artichoke pizza.Thank you for the serving us Glacuia

The place is very beautiful, with great seating and romantic lights. Service was incredible and super kind and quick. The food was only great. I ordered the salmon and it wasn’t my favorite. Granted, the rest of my party loved their food and greatly enjoyed. Dessert was delicious and appetizers were yummy!

From the service to food to cleanliness everything is perfect. I have been here several times and can’t eat enough of their food. I’m usually not a huge fan of American cuisine but this place is an exception. The mushroom pizza is so rich and creamy, I can’t get enough of it and the seafood risotto and braised beef is amazing. Highly recommend!
R B
Wow! Loved the atmosphere. Both dishes were great. We had the roasted chicken with gnocchi, and the scallops & gulf shrimp with lemon risotto. The chicken dish was one of the best meals I have ever had.
Andrew
Atmosphere was great both indoor and outdoor, staff was attentive and knowledgeable of the seasonal menu, and the food was outstanding. We ordered a smoked pork belly and roasted chicken entree's, and both were truly delicious with creative complimentary flavors. Great spot for a date with reasonable prices that reflect the quality of the farm-to-table food. Well done, lads!
Relax with Ren (Yoga and Meditation)
Absolutely everything we ordered was delicious. Yummy cocktails, an extensive wine list, scrumptious apps and mains, decadent desserts. We highly recommend sitting outside for a relaxing evening of delicious food and garden ambiance. The key lime souffle is a summer treat you don't want to miss!

What I liked most was the professional conduct of the staff. They were so attentive to my table, they asked questions, wanted to know our thoughts on the food, etc. I was beyond impressed with the cheese board and the chicken I had for dinner. Those were 5/5. The mixed drinks and the dessert which was the Blondie brownie with banana ice cream was 3/5. They were alright and standard but nothing as impressive as dinner and the cheeseboard. I want to come back and see what else they will have. Overall I was most impressed with the staff they were just so kind and polite. That made a huge difference. 5/5 for everything as this is a very well know establishment and it’s my first time here. Highly recommend for any occasion.

Fantastic food, drinks, and service! Our party of 4 ordered the cheese plate, cheddar biscuits, mushroom soup, and tuna starters. For entrees we had the chicken, scallops/shrimp, short ribs, and branzino plus a cucumber salad. Everything was incredible. We also had a few drinks - the pilot (wonderful mocktail), the beekeeper, and the artist. Would absolutely eat here again!

Talula's is one of the best restaurants in Philadelphia. Even on weekday nights you need a reservation to get into the restaurant. They offer a wide range of dishes, cocktails and wines . The food is exquisite, many new dishes with interesting flavors that are unexpectedly amazing! Many of their fruits and vegetables are extremely fresh and of high quality. It is quite pricey, dishes are around 20-35 dollars each, and appetizers and 15-25 dollars each. The servers are probably the nicest and funniest servers of any restaurant in Philadelphia. I personally had an appetizer for dinner and it filled me up! I had the ricotta ravioli with asparagus sauce and breadcrumbs. This dish easily makes it one of my favorites. The menu includes many pastas with different protons muchas lamb chicken, and beef. They also have a mushroom soup, and i can tell you that as a mushroom hater I loved it!!!
Noah
5/5 star overall experience featuring local and well sourced ingredients; and a delightful intro on this trip to Philadelphia. Sustainable food throughout on a rotating menu, printed daily to catch corrections of the minor variety.
We sampled a lot from appetizers and drinks through on to dessert. They’re happy to change things around, make custom drinks, and substitute as needed.
The meat can trend towards very slightly on the super savory side, with a strong umami and salty edge. Can feel very rich and is forward on oil and vegetable notes. Cooked perfectly. Same criticism and praise of the salmon. Really just a preference but I have notes even in Michelin star haunts and no place is immune from improving, even if it’s slight. The inclusion of peach was inspired. Really nice combo there with the pork.
I would easily recommend anything from the range of entrees and from appetizers: try the rolls. They’re divine, some of the best I’ve had anywhere in the country with sweet and bready starchy flavors coming out in just the right way. Memorable.
The sorbet was spectacular, very rich. And so was the key lime soufflé, with subtler flavors and portions not being overbearing - which I actually appreciate on a desert plate.
Portion sizing throughout was well considered and neither too large or too small. Service was perfectly attentive, and professional. Would certainly come back here given the food alone even if we hadn’t had good service!
We sat outdoors and it was charming, but super hot in summer. So take note. Really lovely garden area of course, hence the name.

Delicious food. The server was incredibly friendly. My fiancé and I went here for Valentine’s Day and they called us once to confirm and again to let us know we should bring a blanket because it gets a little chilly. I highly recommend this place.

Talula's Garden is my new favorite restaurant in Philly. We had such a wonderful experience and will defintiely be back. The cheese board was amazing and all the cheeses are available to be purchased at Talula's Daily (located next door). I got the chicken, which was out of this world! My friends got the Branzino and Ravioli; both looked amazing. The drinks were also top notch, my favorite was The Dreamer.
Mike Poveromo
Can't say enough about this food! That's it I'm speechless. (Edit) 2nd trip from Bethlehem to Philly for this dining experience. Food prepared perfectly and all the staff are very nice and accommodating. My new favorite place
Johanes
Very classy and perfect ambiance.... the food was great and delicious ,waitresses are nice ... but the host quite rude because we are bit late ( like 10 minutes) mind u parking are horrible in this area... but overall it's worth it.
Wout Vergauwen
Perfect for Sunday brunch! The menu has all you'd expect, but with a twist. Leveled up, really. I had the chicken and waffles, but the sage-maple gravy is what made it unique. The cocktail selection goes along nicely and makes for a great experience.
The atmosphere is absolutely lovely, no matter whether you're sat inside or on the patio.

A wonderful night of surprise next to the park. We had a reservation on a Thursday at 8 p.m. and we finished our meal before 9:30 p.m. Food was extraordinary, ambience was slow romance, and service was welcoming and detailed-oriented.
Highlights on what we ordered:
Cheddar Biscuits with Salted Honey Butter - highly recommend, delicious and smooth flavor
Mushroom soup - very subtle umami flavor
Beef Short Rib - if you have nothing else on the menu, this dish is a home run. Very tender with a strong red wine sauce that doesn’t overpower the rest of the plate.
Chicken - also very tender white breast meat. It stayed juicy and the sauce added a light cream flavor.
Our server Kenny split our soup without us asking when we mentioned we were sharing. The manager and other bussers made sure we were happy with our food and had plenty of water throughout our meal.
With 2 apps, 2 entrees, 2 sides and 2 drinks, bill came to <$150. Very good value for the taste.
Lindsey Mathews
Fantastic food from start to end. Cool ambiance and the staff was friendly. Really enjoyed the menu some of the best eggs and bacon ever along with the best chicken. Would come back again for sure

I came here last month Dec. 9th Thursday for my friends birthday making note in the reservation and making sure I called twice to make sure it would be a surprise birthday dinner for them and to not mention anything and to make sure that our indoor seat is away from the door since it's really cold. I came in and they were trying to seat us outside and I had to speak up because that's not what my reservation was for. Then they sat us next to the door when almost every seat was open after just sitting two other people in the other room away from the door. This really agitated me because it's like the male host didn't even read my reservation at all and also was randomly choosing seats. Then when I sat down the waiter came by and spoiled the birthday surprise, which irritated me even more. Majority of my problems were from host who didn't read the reservation and didn't at all listen to what I wanted. Didn't pass on the message or anything.
The food itself is what saved the dinner, but even if the food is good, if the service is not good, I will not come back. I will be giving this place another shot sometime in the future, but I'm very hesitant about the service. 2/5 for service and 4/5 for food.

I got a table randomly 3 hours before dinner so I didn't have much expectation. We did get put to cramped spot, which almost spoiled the experience. However, service was good, drinks are good, and food tasted great, which saved the night. The mushroom pizza was magical. We couldn't understand how the crust could be so crunchy and almost flaky with just the right amount of savory toppings (yum!!). We also had the Mediterranean flank steak and it was very good as well. Only minus was the tuna crudo was on the sweet side for me and wish there were a few crackers to go with it. We will be back.
Gabriel Kuriloff
We thought it was yummy. Well cooked. Nicely conceived, farm to table kind of theme. Both fishes were cooked really well. Order the marinated cucumbers side. Oh, and we've had some "inexperienced" service recently, but the service here was great.
Liz Larkin
Went for brunch and had a lovely time. The food is excellent. (Presentation was great... just didn't take pictures) Service is attentive. Drinks were fab. Bit loud inside, but in a full of chat kind of way. Absolutely would go back

One of my favorite restaurants! My boyfriend took me here for my 30th birthday and it was memorable and delicious.
The service is excellent and makes the experience and beautiful ambiance that much more enjoyable. Kevin was our server and was so kind and attentive.
We loved everything we ordered, including the tricolor salad (they kindly split for us on 2 plates), lamb bolognese, crispy brussel sprouts, and corn bread. We wanted to get desserts because the options looked great, but were stuffed even with leftovers!
I cannot rave enough about this place. I am so happy (and lucky!) my boyfriend took me here for my 30th birthday dinner!
David Lin
Great ambience and service accompanying seriously yummy food.
Chive biscuits with black pepper honey - 5/5, tender tender tender, with a nostalgic allium flavor and addictive honeyed butter (we were licking it off of our knives!)
Smoked pork belly - 5/5, reminiscent of the best BBQ that you’ve ever had, the candied peanuts and honeycrisp apple introduce a mind blowing acidity and sweetness, and I’m actually obsessed with the charred bok choy
Lamb Bolognese - 3.5/5, great cook on the pasta and pleasant rosemary fragrance, refreshing lemon-herb sauce, but overall a little milder and less lamb-y than I would have preferred
Key Lime Soufflé Cake - 4/5, officially my new favorite way to have key lime anything, light enough to go down easily after we were already full, delicious combo of flavors and textures across each component, just wish there was more meringue and the cake was a little airier!
Brittany Mann
Absolutely amazing food drinks and service. Ian was an amazing bartender also working very hard. The restaurant it's self is adorable. Very happy we choose this place to get brunch.

We had an amazing evening here our waiter was nice and knowledgeable. We tried the biscuits which were awesome. Also tried the pasta starter which had so much flavor.
Main course was their steak which did not disappoint either. Every dish hit its mark.

Always a pleasure to dine with Talula’s Garden. From the French press coffee, to the avocado toast + poached eggs or the mushroom omelet, to the ricotta donuts- they do it right!! I personally love sitting towards the back of the restaurant for the more rustic garden cottage ambience.
Caitlin Sullivan
Came here for New Years and start to finish was divine! We had Lottie (tiffany) who was professional, knowledgeable and customer service was her expertise! Walked this picky eater through the menu!!!
We didn't feel rushed and actually made friends with the table adjacent from us! If thats not a good omen, then I dont know!
Cant wait to bring my girlfriends here for brunch! Hope to get Lottie again!!!
Lindsay Vega
Took my husband here for his 30th. We had such a fun time, our waiter, Kenny, was great! Very attentive. The food was absolutely delicious.
Shirin Modaresi
Delicious food & cocktails, good service, a few vegan options. My vegetable curry with quinoa was tasty (would've liked some protein with it, like tofu, but overall a nice veggie option)
Blake Lew-Merwin
everything was delicious! I came here just for appetizers and sides and it was so good. specifically the cheese board and the tuna crudo were amazing. walked in at 8:45 on saturday and got a table for 9:30 pm. worth it. never felt like I had to rush out of there.
Jarrah Boreman
So delicious. Our waitress was passive aggressive but our meal and drinks and everything on the menu was sooooo good!
Andrea Fernandez
The place is really pretty, nice cozy vibes.
Service was very kind and friendly.
Food was good, portions were a bit too small for the price.
Jas Honey
The place had a good scenery, polite staff, and I had no complaints about the food. It was a nice place to relax and talk.
Sadie B
Really lovely indoor/outdoor dining opportunity. Well stocked bar, interesting meal selections, soft music and pleasant ambiance.
Laura S
We had an amazing experience from start to finish. Even at 40 degrees outside the patio was warm enough to take off my jacket. The drinks, the cheese board, the salmon, the goat cheese ravioli, and the apple dessert were perfection. Service was welcoming and helpful. Only complaint is the garden style chairs were not super comfortable, especially for a long dinner. Otherwise, we loved it!
John Fix
We had an amazing dining experience. My wife and I were greeted promptly, and seated right on time for our reservation. Our waiter, Peter, was super friendly and attentive, and answered our questions. We had the brussel sprouts appetizer, it was delicious. My wife had scallops and risotto while I had the pork belly, both were perfectly prepared. Desserts did not disappoint either. One of the best meals we’ve enjoyed in a long time.
Shell L
Super tasty dishes and very friendly service. A very nice and quaint place for date night.
Anna Napper
Atmosphere: High ceilings and yet cozy. Varied menu with something for everyone. Lush cocktails and warming wines. Key lime suffle cake to die for!
Tahmia Welch
Staff is pleasant, food portions are plentiful, wasn't a huge fan of the cocktails. Shrimp and grits were disappointing, chicken from chicken & waffles overfried (according to the southern in the group and I concur). Burger was decent, candied bacon was good, so was the bananas foster French toast. Would try again for dinner to see if there is a difference.
Yana Avdeenko
Loved this place! 11 out of 10 and I’m not easily impressed. The food is amazing! I enjoyed the tuna appetizer and red wine braised beef ribs. Rhubarb pie and basil ice cream desert is something unique and I’d eat at least two of them 😍😍
The waiters are nice and the atmosphere was relaxing and cozy. Definitely coming back! …
Kirsten Quisenberry
Food, ambiance and staff are all incredible! The salmon was cooked perfectly and the green goddess sauce paired so well. Highly recommend this place.
Brent Sweitzer
Food is fantastic and a very relaxing atmosphere! It's right next to Washington Square Park. I recommend taking a short walk to see the Tomb of the unknown soldier. Cool restaurant in a historic city.
Yueqi (Rachel)
Everything is just so beautiful. Make sure to get the dessert (especially the carrot cake!) The cake is so spongy. The sour cream on top, and the coconut sorbet, Macadamia nuts and caramel on the side all add to the rich texture of flavors. It was so delicious that i forgot to take a picture (ofc).
I would definitely go back and try their brunch options.
Felicity
Great atmosphere, staff are beyond lovely, the food is amazing, the cheeseboard comes with a list of all the cheeses (the goat cheese ball rolled in rosemary was TO DIE FOR), if you’re a fan of spice you’ll love the Vacationer which is a delicious and spicy margarita. We’re already planning when we’ll be back!
Deepak Prabhakar
Update 12/3/21: still amazing. Great service, apps entrees and desserts.
A hard 5/5 experience. Service is fantastic and the food is even better. Ask for Ariel, she was funny, engaging and knew the menu backwards and forwards.
Drinks are fantastic, pasta is house made and superb and the entrees were well portioned and supremely delicious. Talula’s Garden is one of the best dining experiences in the city.
However, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the price tag, it will set you back a $100 or more a person.
Liz E
I love this place because the food is delicious and beautiful and the servers are great. I've dined alone here and never felt forgotten or rushed. Yes, it's a bit pricey but I have not had a bad meal or experience at Talula's. Try the peach french toast sticks and stone fruit with lemon granola.
Toshia Brown
Absolutely Fantabulous! A Whole VIBE! Tyler/server was Amazing 💯... Food was Delicious 😋 😍 #Luvit #CHOP #DreamTeam
Jacque Wilson-Mattox
We ate brunch as a family on Valentine’s. The restaurant did not skip a beat despite being busy for the holiday. We sat outside and tried a variety of their beverages, all were fantastic. Food arrived very quickly and we were impressed by all the plate presentations. French toast sticks, avocado toast, chicken and waffles were some of our choices and all perfectly balanced in flavor.
Jonathan Walters
A tremendous brunch spot right off Washington Square! The reputation of Talula’s precedes itself, and the meal did not disappoint. The outdoor set up is tremendous and we felt warm and comfortable in the outdoor structure. The food was outstanding with particular props to the potatoes, omelette, and chocolate croissants. The kitchen messed up the omelette by giving us cheese after we asked for no cheese, and they comped us the omelette and chocolate croissants. Talk about making it up to us and more. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Came here for my birthday dinner yesterday. It was so delicious! Service was a bit slow but considering it was a Friday night and they were completely booked, it was acceptable.
Benjamin S
The restaurant is located in an impressive historic building with very high ceilings and dramatic architectural finishes. All of the food we ordered was excellent and nicely presented.
The one major criticism is that the restaurant is partaking in the lamentable American trend of $16 or $17 glasses of wine. It is hard to understand how this can be justified or found to be acceptable. In continental Europe, there are no such inflated prices for wine by the glass, and all employees have health insurance and a month of vacation. Where is all of that money going?
Arusha Acharyya
Awesome place! We went for dinner and it was totally worth it. The service was great, so was the ambience for outdoor dining.
The food was delicious. For starter, the fig pizza and risotto blew our mind. The potato wedges on the side was delicious.
For entree, I would definitely recommend the roasted salmon, pork belly, fried chicken, beef rib and branzino.
I am definitely going back for the desserts. The lemon cake and creme brulee both were mouth watering.
Overall a five star experience!
Aleksei Martin
The food is nicely done, and some ingredient combinations are extravagant.
Mhari Cattell
Lovely surroundings, superb service, and delicious food snd drinks!!!
Michelle
Now this was a quality meal! The flavors were so fresh and delicious, like the ingredients were freshly picked from the garden. The portions were just right as well. All in all, one of the best meals I’ve had recently for sure and worth the cost! 😋
Rich Tyndall
My GF and I have been having a heck of a time recently where restaurants really haven't stood up to the hype. Talula's, on the other hand, absolutely delivered! The atmosphere is great, the staff is friendly, and the food was interesting and delicious. The only heads up I would give is they salt heavily for those watching their intake. We were here for a birthday and couldn't have asked for a better experience. We even had a show with the naked bike ride going by Washington Square right outside our window. Dinner and a show, what more could you ask for!
Samantha Clemmey
Visited from New York and my friend (a Philly native) and I finally got in for brunch! The food was some of the best I've ever had (fresh, thoughtful, well balanced). Our server was really what made our experience the best (I think his name was Connor?) he was truly so kind and we would return just to have him as our server again! I had the beet cured salmon plate and my friend had the blueberry lemon pancakes...everything was absolutely delicious. If I could give Talula's 10 stars I would! P.S. the brunch mimosa's were the perfect ratio.
Haley Wrobel
This was not only a meal; it was an experience!! The cucumber cocktail had so much flavor. We ordered the carrot ginger soup, the biscuits, the quinoa plate, and the scallops, and each had tons of flavor. The veggie quinoa plate was actually served out of a squash, and it tasted just as delicious as it looked!
Stephanie R.
Wow Talula’s Garden was amazing! We came for a sunday brunch. We heard so many great things about this restaurant from friends so i’m glad we were able to get a reservation. For Starters we ordered the candied bacon (AMAZING) and the brioche french toast sticks, so delicious. The chicken and waffles were perfect, the chicken was so juicy! & when in doubt, The local brunch option on the menu is a classic and full of flavor. If you go, just don’t forget to order the frozé!!!! it’s so good i had to order one to go!

Finally got a chance to have drinks and dinner at a Philadelphia institution. The drinks, the service, the food and the ambience were all excellent. The customers were in their mid-forties.
You can’t go wrong here. Highly recommended.

Loved this restaurant. The menu is very interesting with great combinations of beautifully prepared and presented food. Two of us shared branzino with a tomato, fennel and caper confit, and the lamb bolognese with ricotta-basil cream. And the cheddar chive biscuits were sublime. Shared a French rose which went well with everything. Service was attentive, charming and came with great recommendations. Ate outdoors in a beautiful garden spot. Will return next time we are in Philly!
Jane O'Connell
The food was decent but nothing exciting, interesting, or particularly well-executed. The prices, for the wines in particular, were way overpriced. We saw a wine that cost $20 wholesale online for $18 a glass (and $80 for the entire bottle). Absurd.

Absolutely lovely space. We had a nice patio seat, and the service was impeccable. For the price and the hype, I found the food lacking. Partner and I both work in the industry, so aren't snobby but we eat and drink at a different place every time we go out, so no lack of food experience here. The cocktails (can't remember which exactly) were both overly sweet and we couldn't taste the liquor that anchored them over the sweetness. The cheese platter was absolutely lovely, and the crudo was very nice - citrusy and fresh. I had the branzino. It was perfectly cooked, the chickpea and tomato side was delicious, but the sauce was bland and presentation unimaginative. He had the lamb bolognese and it was good, but too heavy for a summer menu and way, way too salty. Creme brulee for dessert - he loved it, I'm not really a dessert person, so I'll trust his opinion. To sum it up, it was overall very good, just didn't live up to expectations.
Willie West
We shared an appetizer, the cheddar Biscuits. For entrees, she had the scallops and shrimp with risotto and I chose the short rib with polenta. Finally, for dessert she had the galette and I had the key lime souffle cake. The ratings for Talula’s are well deserved, everything that we ordered was fantastic. Service was attentive and pleasant. The outside eating area is well spaced, inviting and covered in case of inclement weather. We will definitely be back in the future.
Crystal Hopkins
The food, the drinks, the service....all fantastic! My partner surprised me with a trip to Philly to have dinner here for my birthday. The entire staff including our Server Tyler was top notch. I would take the Amtrak back here from NYC just to experience the lavender creme brulee again!
The Dreamer
Everything was delicious. Service was great. Very clean and sanitized. Tables were spaced far apart in their own cubicle. There was heat added to the area as well since it's all outdoor seating. I would highly recommend ordering here. I got the fried chicken. It's all white meat with a good crunch to it. Meat was tender and not dried out. The biscuits are amazing as well.
Anthony Lerro
Spacing inside was comfortably distant with some barriers up. Service was attentive and friendly. The food fell a bit short though. The tuna crudo looked beautiful but lacked acid to balance the sweetness of the sauce on the plate. We wanted to love it but unfortunately didn’t. We got the branzino special which was absolutely stellar. Perfectly cooked with a crispy skin and just the right accompaniments on the plate. We were less impressed with the scallops but it wasn’t bad. At the price point of Talula’s, we were hoping everything was going to hit like the branzino did but unfortunately that didn’t happen. It was definitely a good enough experience though where we’d go back and give it another try.

If there were 10 stars, I'd give them that! This place is amazing. Talula's is comparable to the finest dining in London and Chicago. Nothing in Manhattan compares. The ambiance is perfect. The service is beyond friendly and accommodating. The food is impeccable! We had the short rib and the salmon. Each entree was an abundant portion of carefully chosen and prepared meat and vegetable accoutrements. Perfect combinations. The plating was gorgeous. The plates are just the right mix of a dinner plate and a bowl. We even enjoyed the cutlery which is a variety of vintage flatware. Management's decorative use of wood, metal, and plexi creates a safe Covid Season environment and blends seemlessly into the decor. As much as we enjoyed the inside, we noted how dining outside in the garden with the fairy lights would also be fun (weather permitting)! Ambiance is equal to food for me when dining out and Talula's hit the mark on both!

The place was amazing! Kenny was pur server and provided top notch service. The cheese selection was delicious. Recommend the Chicken and gnocchi, and Beef short rib!

Updating my review of " The Garden" as I will now call it. On my first visit I came for brunch and it was a solid 4 stars. I didn't love my meal, chicken and waffles but the starters were all amazing, the deviled eggs and chai donuts. We decided on a whim to come here for dinner and wow! This place has earned it's 5 stars from me. Everything was excellent and cooked perfectly. The oysters we're fried perfectly and had just the right amount of crunch and was paired well, it was an excellent balance of flavor. The duck breast, while not the most flavorful I've ever had was definitely the most tender. Its tenderness blew my mind and it literally melted in my mouth. But wait there's more! The duck breast was also served with crepes of duck confit and any flavor lacked by the breast was made up for! It really was delicious and I wouldn't change a thing. Finally the sea bass was again cooked to perfection and while it was good what really got me was the sardinian couscous, I ate all of it. It was amazing and paired so we'll with the clams and Mediterranean Sea Bass. Now for the let down, the service... I'm kidding the service was excellent! And I mean really really excellent. Out of all the restaurants I've been to in an 8 block radius of Washington Square, this place is number one. On both my visits I had an excellent experience with staff and that alone makes me want to eat here more often. I will definitely come back for a 3rd visit.
Honestly if I lived closer I would eat here at least once a week.

This little gem tucked away in Philly is a MUST. Fine dining, great food, amazing staff, what else would you need from a restaurant? Highly recommend if your looking for a nice date night to plan your visit here. While they don’t have the full menu back yet (13 course meal Chefs Special) their menu has more than what you can ask for. Can’t wait to come back after all this covid is over and really experience the full effect of this amazing restaurant! They also have a cheese board to die for.

Service was impeccable. Our waitress was excellent and was there, always available, except when it started raining and she had to help the guests outside.
We were joking that she was a fairy waitress, as she made sure all of our drinks were filled and gave elaborate and helpful details regarding any questions we had about the menu.
As for the food itself, I was very satisfied by the quality and the taste of the food. The quantity was less than what I would have liked, but I appreciated every bite I had.
I ordered the duck breast which they gave one whole duck breast, crepes, and some vegetables on the side. The sauce tasted a little like BBQ sauce but everything seemed to work together on one plate. If I could only give some criticism, maybe try a lighter sauce for the duck. Also more duck is very much appreciated.
My girlfriend got the crab and spaghetti. It was very tasty and the portion size was again a bit smaller than what I would have liked but she said it was perfect.
We got the dessert which was the cookie in a skillet. It was very delicious, not too sweet for me and there was a balance of chocolate and cookie dough. Ice cream was very creamy and delicious. Would definitely order again.
I thoroughly enjoyed this place. Ambiance is top notch, service was excellent and really was the star of the show. Food was very very good as well.
Matthew Barnes
Excellent food, ambiance, and service. Talula's Garden is a real gem in the Philadelphia food scene. Highly recommended. Do yourself a favor and get the cheese biscuit appetizer. So good.

Talula's garden is a great though pricey dinner and brunch spot. Across the board they have excellent traditional dishes. Expect things like really good duck, pork, and fish on the menu. Though the menu does not seem to be vegetable focused there are awesome vegetarian options. A few of the "Little Vegetable Dishes" can easily make and excellent vegetarian dinner. There are also solid vegetarian options in the apps and pasta. Brunch is also a must here - they only have it on Sundays but there isn't usually a huge wait. Some of the best pancakes in the city (look out for seasonal flavors) and the best scrapple I have ever had.
Patrick Breiner
Incredibly attentive and kind and professional staff. Our server Kenny was great! The food was outstanding! We especially loved the tuna crudo.
Emily Cashin
Fantastic, friendly, well-mixed trained service professionals, as always. This was our first time going for brunch. We ordered too much by one dish, but leftovers are great. We got corn muffins with pimento cheese, spinach & feta croissants with a za'atar-spiced yogurt, French toast bites with strawberry jam, creme fraiche and granola (Talula's granola is my favorite ever), and the crab eggs "Benedict" (which I think was more Florentine because it had spinach) which was on a biscuit instead of an English muffin. It was all delightful, but the French toast bites were the highlight for me!

Okay place, made reservation for a special day, but they arranged us a small table next to the bar, my husband was upset and we have to change to another table. This potato taste not fresh actually, don’t know how long they were there before serving

Loved our dining experience at Talula's garden ❤❤❤❤❤. We went in March so the garden wasn't open-we aren't much for dining outside anyway. Our server, Amelia, impressed us with her intimate knowledge of the menu. My husband doesn't like to eat anything with added sugar and she was quite informative on what was sweetened from the charcuterie to the entrees🤓. And how impressive was it that she knew what each cheese was from each available pallet👌?! Honestly, do they have to pass a test prior to being a server? Wow! So yes- we quite enjoyed the cheeseboard. My husband enjoyed his short rib and I absolutely loved my scallops🤤. It was so hard to choose a dessert-went with the brownie sundae😋 . We look forward to returning and tasting more delicious items👍. Beyond pleased at dinner here. You won't be disappointed!!!

I absolutely LOVE this place. Not only are all the dishes prepared with local ingredients but everything is soo delicious! And the restaurant is just such a charming place! My friends and I immediately fell in love with the place as soon as we walked through the outdoor seating area, and took one step inside. Every inch of this restaurant is really pretty!
We all got drinks to start (Sorry not pictured) and they were all so good! We got the Graduate, the Artist, and the Rockstar.
Then for appetizers, we got the Tuna Crudo which was SO good! It came with chunks of raw tuna and whipped avocado which we all loved so much. We also got the mini mushroom pizza which is perfect for the mushroom lovers. We also got a side of the Kenneth square mushrooms - a great side! Yum
I've heard great things about their cheese boards but not everyone at the table was a fan of cheese so we didn't get that, but I would love to try it the next time I go.
My friends and I then shared 2 entree plates- the crab & spaghetti and the Pork & Apples
My favorite was the crab & spaghetti! They had real chunks of blue crab in there and you could taste it in the pasta! It was just so well made I was so sad when it was gone. The pork was sooooo soft and perfectly cooked! Would def recommend that dish to any pork or meat lover!
For dessert we shared the warm chocolate chip cookie skillet (YUM!) and the fresh baked daily fruit crisp. Would def recommend both to any dessert lovers. One is fruity and one is really sweet and chocolatey
And of course the staff were all so friendly and super nice! I would definitely come back here and can't wait to do so!! Definitely one of my top favorite restaurants in the city
MinJae Cho
Food was good but on the saltier side, and service was attentive. The outside area is beautiful, but the decor didn’t feel unique—think typical “rustic” white suburban middle class. Clientele is on the older side, and all menu items are safe. Four stars because it does feel a bit overpriced.
Jean Neftin
The food is amazing, service amazing! My wife was crying from happiness (it was her Bday). You are now officially my favorite restaurant.
Esther Kim
Have always wanted to try this place but finally went last night. Super cute inside and out, waited just a few minutes for our reservation. Server was excellent, very non invasive and helpful and gave us lots of freebies! Petit fours at start and end. Everything was delicious, well executed, beautiful, and had layers of complexity and texture. We all shared from each other's dishes and were not disappointed. I'd love to go again during warmer weather and sit outside or try talulas daily. Definite must try.
F J
Very pleased. We celebrated our 5th anniversary here and I think we pretty much will keep coming back. We weren't a fan of the cocktails but we aren't much of alcohol drinkers. The wife the chicken and I had the scallops. Very well put together.
Darren Wright
We were celebrating my friend’s professional certification before going to the Phillies game and Talula’s Garden didn’t disappoint. We had a lovely two top by the window and Elisha took perfect care of us. She had the scallops and I had the salmon. Both were done to perfection. I also enjoyed the creme brûlée (I have a week was for creme brûlée).
Cchaddie Riddock
It’s a cute restaurant I love the atmosphere. I came twice back to back during Covid. The extra Precautions, customer service, and the food was amazing. One of my new favorite spots. Peter the waiter is the best! Please try the fried chick with that awesome too die for sage gravy!!!!! The braised short rib dish is awesome too!
Alex Fidler
Been here twice, once pre-pandemic and again about a month ago. Great drinks, apps, food, and dessert both times. They did a really nice job with socially distanced outdoor seating, such a cute spot.✨
Michelle Shafer
We had reservations and were lucky enough to score a table in the garden. Do this! Inside is fine, but if the weather is nice, it’s the place to be!
The service was great and the food was delicious. We had a bottle of wine, a huge cheese board, shared a salad and entree. Our bill was $150.00 with tip. We’ll be back!!
Hussam Nash
We had such a beautiful time in this place for our wedding anniversary. The food items for brunch were delicious and yummy. Justin is an excellent server; he made sure to replenish our coffee continuously. We highly recommend that place; nice atmosphere:)
Kat Park
Went here for a late Valentine’s Day dinner, and it was the perfect spot for such an occasion. The restaurant has a section that’s more quiet and private, and another section that’s lively and vibrant! We were in the quieter area, which I enjoyed. We started with a “DIY” cheese and salami plate, which was SO GOOD. We got a hard and a soft cheese and one artisanal salami, and the bits of fruit and nuts that came with the cheeses complemented them perfectly. We also got an appetizer of beets and yogurt with dill. They were a great texture and the freshness was a welcome combination with the cheese and our pastas. I ordered the shrimp tagliatelle and my husband got the braised lamb pappardelle. Both were so delicious! They are a bit heavy, so no need to order too many dishes! I could barely finish, but of course I had room for dessert. The rose scented vanilla bean creme brûlée was perfect. I love it when the sugar layer on top is hardened enough, so that it partners well with the soft custard. And it was just that! I highly recommend this spot for a nice dinner, and I would most definitely go again.
Julie
Food is fresh, atmosphere is relaxed and lively, beautiful decor, indoor and outdoor seating, greeting staff and waitress service is outstanding. Recommend making reservations. Alcohol available. Brunch only on Sundays. Parking on street. Valet available for $18.
Logan Spear
This place was a hidden gem in philly for brunch. The outdoor area is incredibly cute and atmospheric. I absolutely loved the chicken and waffles... it had interesting flavor by adding corn to the waffle topping. The waiter was great, the food was great, and overall my experience was fantastic. Next time I’m in philly I’ll definitely be back.
Blaire Bender
Truly phenomenal. Sat outside in their garden and had a lovely heater above me as I ate delicious food and sipped on some Napa wine. I would come back here in a heartbeat. So tucked away and surprisingly quaint.
Francis
This place is amazing. Staff, food, atmosphere, all fantastic. Food was straight up amazing. Gluten free options from start to finish. Short rib made me tear up a bit. I recommend 100% of the time, every time. Come for the cheese plates, stay for the entrees.
Lauren Marie
A wonderfully scrumptious meal from charcuterie board, to appetizers, to full courses, sides, drinks, and desserts. The artistry and care of r is ch dish did not go unnoticed. Located within a beautiful setting, Talula's Garden made for a spectacular evening!
Anthony Feghali
This is always one of my favorite restaurants in Philly. It's great in fall and winter for the warm environment and seasonal foods. I always recommend a cheese board and the trout Cesar salad is excellent. The menu changes by the season. Last time I was there I had the prom belly with apples and the scallops. You can't go wrong on the entrées. Expect to pay around 80 a person for drinks, an appetizer, and entree.
Sarah Gerstein
Absolutely amazing experience. We went for a dinner and got the chefs menu with wine pairing and it did not disappoint. Seriously - we walked in at 6 and left at 930 after having had one of the best meals ever. Our servers Tracy and Colin were friendly and knowledgeable and printed off our menu with wine pairing so that we could enjoy the wines again later.
Go - you will not be disappointed.
A Williams
Good options for both vegetarian and gluten free diners. We sit outside in the boxes with our dog. Always an excellent menu and great service.
HD13
Went for Sunday brunch. Mushroom omelet was tasty and the pancakes were excellent. Very large portions. It was raining, so we couldn’t enjoy the garden tables, but would definitely go back
Sue-Ann DiVito
Called ahead on a busy Sunday. They were able to accommodate us within the hour. Whether you sit indoors, or out, you’ll love the atmosphere. Plenty of choices for those that are gluten free. Food was fantastic!
Om Mahida
Amazing food, atmosphere, and service
Edit: Made a second visit and it was as good as the last. Food is always excellent and their desserts are simple and delicious. Order the donuts, you won't regret it!
Oluomachi Ebiringa
This place did not disappoint! The food was so delicious. Been trying to visit it and never reserve early enough to get a space I want. I have never had potatoes that good before. The omelet also was different from ones I’ve had.
Aside from the long wait, the place is worth it.
Was so glad I was able to get outside sitting because it made a big difference.
John Hennessey
Clearly experienced in the kitchen and out in the dining room. World traveler cheese plate was excellent. Meatballs hit the spot. Short rib was delicious. Bread pudding was yummy. Service was quick and attentive. Highly recommend.
Justin DeLisio
Everything is fantastic here. The service, the ambiance, the food, the cocktails and the desert. You can learn a thing or two by paying attention to all the detail involved in each dish.
Rosine Bramly
Such a charming place its really like a garden you are surrounded by plants and flowers the food is excellent
A little pricey but worth it

Talula's Garden has been one of my go-to restaurants in Philadelphia for the last decade. When it came time to plan a wedding rehearsal "dinner," Talula's was the first place to came to mind. Instead of a dinner, we planned a brunch. The Talula's team was incredibly easy to work with, was incredibly attentive the day of the event, and the food was absolutely delicious. We called ahead of time to work through the seating arrangements, and I was able to get there before the event to lay place cards on the table.
We rented out the full space and were able to have a progressive meal starting in the bar area with drinks, to the foyer area for cheese, and then finally sitting in the back for our full meal which included pastries, an appetizer, entree, and dessert. The bar area was perfect for photos with the natural light, too.
There was an incredible amount of food, we left with so many leftovers, but the team was great about packing everything up for us and we were able to feast for the rest of the week. All of our guests were amazed by the quality of the food and the service and said it was one of their favorite parts of the weekend.
Heike Yates
Since it’s winter we were not able to enjoy the garden. The inside of the restaurant a bit dark but well appointed. Great service, relaxed atmosphere. Food was good but nothing surprising. They seemed to take pride in their cheese selection but we can’t talk about it as we didn’t try them.
Adam Uchimoto
Talula's Garden is one of Philadelphia's best dining experiences. The food is local, fresh, and just wonderful all around. The menu is seasonal and highlights the best fare according to the time of the year in which you are visiting.
Rob Silvagni
While the food was very good the portions were small and prices high. But that is to be expected because of its location. There was only a single vegetarian entree (vegetable curry) for $28. I was shocked how small the dish was for the price. And of all the things we ordered, it was the only one that wasn't very good. I would never order it again. The cheese board was $25 for 5 tiny pieces of cheese. The only reasonably priced items were the beer for $6. (Wine was $14 a glass).
Two of us (both vegetarians) only came here because of a $100 gift certificate we received as a wedding gift, (which we easily went over). I am sure that people that like to spend lots of money for small portions of food would love it here.
Scott S.
Great atmosphere...hip and chill at the same time. Outstanding service. Terrific cocktails. Great appetizers ( get the cheese board )...Amazing flavors and textures with entrees. You can figure desserts out for yourself.
Reynold Dyson
A wonderful dining experience that lived up to all of their advanced billing.
Great ambiance, attentive service, delicious food & drink. Get there to check this spot off your 'foodie' bucket list in Philly🍽🍸🙂
Chris Shay
This quaint place along Washington Sq. is among my favorite weekend brunch spots in Philadelphia!
Historic park, check.
Incredible food, check.
Indoor & outdoor seating, definitely.
You won't go wrong at Talula's Garden.
This is not the cheapest place to eat in the city,
but the ambiance, the interesting photos, cook books, paintings, & knick knacks that cover the walls throughout the restaurant makes it more than worth the price.
(See the yellow fiestaware teapot in my photo)
Make a reservation!
The restaurant is almost always busy.
They are VERY accommodating though.
I always feel like a welcome & important guest while dining at Talula's.
Donna Dean
Wonderful place! Avocado toast had just the right amount of spice on crusty toast. Eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked, served on a fluffy biscuit, with delicious roasted potatoes with Shehiedo peppers. Beautiful garden atmosphere.
Marius Sofron
We had steak and chicken for an early dinner and they were DELICIOUS. This is such a great place. The food is amazing and the staff is friendly and welcoming.
Rebecca VanBrienen
lovely little spot, walk through the park and enjoy a purposefully thought out cocktail and food pairing. great architecture or cute outdoor seating, as well.
Sharon Hillman
Talula’s Garden is wonderful. My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary restrictions and checked in to answer questions and reassure me that the food did not contain what I couldn’t eat. We loved the covered outdoor seating complete with string lights and heaters. The food itself was absolutely delicious and I loved the atmosphere. The tuna crudo was my favorite part of the meal. They even brought us lime meringues and champagne to celebrate our anniversary. I would highly recommend coming here for a special occasion!
Craig Moreau
First time having lunch here - loved seeing the food through all the natural light offered by the windows overlooking the park. A true gem in Center City.
Janae Dagen
Exceptional meal & delightful seasonal cheese board. The chef even surprised us with some decadent buttered rolls & chocolate truffle bites (everything was decadent). We enjoyed a romantic dinner especially arriving a bit early before the restaurant got busy.
Raghav Mathur
Yum! Great food and friendly service. Good drink selection.
Bob Lou
For my 300th review, I'm glad that Talula's Garden provided such a wonderful dining experience--a firm 5/5. The menu is quite lengthy with details about the medley of ingredients that go into each dish. There are interesting ingredients such as pickled green strawberries and lemony bread crumbs. The dishes themselves are a delight with strong flavors that interact well together. Watercress and pea soup with crab transforms a mundane pea soup into a bright and refreshing appetizer. Cavatelli was pasta with peas and ham, but elevated with onion butter and lemon breadcrumbs. I am impressed by the chef's ability to take commonplace veggeis like peas or onions and make them taste like a million bucks. All of this happens in a rustic interior where silverware and plates are mismatched but coordinated. The whole experience respects the ingredients in a wholesome, unpretentious way.
Matthew Bacon
A small space with big flavor dishes, fresh ingredients, a comforting decor and great service. I was only disappointed by the fact that we visited during the winter and couldn't enjoy the outdoor garden space. Another reason, among many, to come back!
Lisa Camp
Absolutely lovely dining experience!!! Food was on point and wait staff can't do enough for you. Drinks are top notch! Wish I hadn't waited so long to go! Loved it!
George Junca
Great brunch and fun place, great mocktails
Nicole Molinari
What a wonderful meal! The service was outstanding, and the food did NOT disappoint! We had an amazing time, one of the best meals I have ever eaten!
Gail M.
One of the most delicious meals I have had! Everything was wonderful about this dining experience. The servers, the ambiance, and the food and wine were outstanding! If I could give it a 6, I would!!
Will
I was dazzled and eager to eat. It was delightfully improved all around. The server was learned and well disposed. The mixed drink and wine choice were awesome and worked out in a good way for the feast. For hors d'oeuvres, the mushroom pizza was marvelous. Fish was our decision for supper and it didn't frustrate!
Sam
Extremely great in every aspect. Decor, and dining layout are nice and not too crammed. Staff was very polite, knowledgeable and quick. Mixed drinks are blended perfectly but are on the pricey side. Very nice selection of cheeses with a multitude of different cheese boards to select from. Main dishes were delicious and hearty. Great ingredients used here, and very fresh. Will most certainly return and book reservations in advance.
Javier Lopez
This place deserves 5 stars the food is delicious. We had a reservation for four and needed to change it to five. I let the person on the phone know it was a special occasion friends visiting from out of Chicago and she put me on hold to ask the manager I assume and she said they couldn’t accommodate. I had no choice but to cancel our reservation.
Ronnette Cox
Beautiful atmosphere, valet parking, fresh and healthy food choices. I had an egg and potatoes breakfast. Potatoes were a bit salty, make sure to say hard eggs or they will serve eggs runny.
Huijo
Incredible atmosphere. Had amazing fig pizza, crab spaghetti, and tuna crudo. Attentive service is a plus.
Jeremy Yowell
Wonderful, but expensive, spot for dinner. The chicken was fantastic, and the drinks were delicious. Highly recommend for a special occasion, but too expensive for a regular dinner spot.
Japneet Kaur
Phenomenal food, atmosphere (feels upscale but pretty casual) and service. Menu has enough variety that anyone can find something they like. Had the pasta with lamb, beet salad and Kely lime soufflé cake. All were phenomenal, was especially surprised how good dessert was.
Dangwei Zhao
Very nicely done brunch food. I hate brunch. The price is on the higher side for the food served but the decor ambiance and location more than make up for this.
Donnie Bethea
The food was excellent. The dessert was to die for. The service was top notch. I came all the way from Brooklyn to enjoy the experience
K2019 Gerard
Short and sweet wine list. Great atmosphere little cramped. Practically bumping elbows . Very small tables great food nice service
Jonathan Brandvein
I give this place 7 out of 5 stars. Forget the Liberty Bell, this is what people should do when they come to Philly. Though it ruined the tourist experience for me in the future, because I'm not likely to have dinner anywhere else now.
Malinda Muzi
Good food. Excellent service.
Rodney Brown
If you're a foodie, this hidden gem hits the spot. Creative and savory dishes in a uniquely decorative atmosphere. A well run restaurant.
rakma mehra
Amazing food and ambience. The service is really good.
Jeanette
Braved the 25° weather for outside seating with a broken table side heater. Food was almost worth the frostbite! 😁😁 Attentive and efficient service …
Rachel Romma
This place is always great. It's pricey but the flavor and quality of their seasonal menu and cocktails are worth it.
James Sim
An unqualified wonderful experience! I took my girlfriend there for her birthday and we both had excellent meals and a very nice experience. Had the cheese plate, goat cheese ravioli, braised short rib, the peanut butter ice-cream brownie dessert. The wines by the glass list is very good - we sampled three of the reds (Cab, Cote de Rhone and Syrah). The garden atmosphere we very enjoyable and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. I would certainly recommend Talula's Garden and I look forward to my next visit.
Debby Stanton
Great food and drinks beautiful presentation atentive service a wonderful outdoor experience with the comfort of heat if you needed it.
Paul Costalas
Milestone dining experience for a milestone birthday. The food and the waitstaff were excellent.
We enjoyed the cheese plate appetizer. I loved my entree, the short ribs, and my wife loved her chicken with gnocchi. Would go back; would recommend to friends. Looking forward to warmer weather when we can get outside.
Bill Packer
Simply delicious. From appetizer through dessert almost everything was well prepared and tasty. I'd suggest not ordering any raw fish items as they lacked flavor. But all the other dishes were very tasty. Cocktails were interesting takes and well crafted. Wines were 3.5x-4x but they mentioned a $25 corkage fee which would likely what we would do next time.
Om J
Decent food, but overrated. Ambiance was beautiful and great location. Staff was generally attentive (All that they missed filling my water twice)
Food:
- Cheese Tray (International/World Plate): Excellent probably one of the best items on the menu. Lots of variety of various cheeses, nuts, grapes and other jams.
- Lamb Pappardelle. Very average, salty, and pasta was too al dente for my taste. Lamb was purely average, and for $18 I'd rather go watch a movie.
- Broccoli side-dish: Second best dish of the night fresh broccoli mixed in with an Asian ginger and soy sauce.
- Donuts: It was highly rated but frankly the dough had no taste. It was coated with sugar and a lemon sauce, which of course on a dessert will make anything taste halfway decent. I frankly would have preferred to go to Dunkin' Donuts!
Elena Howard
We had a rehearsal dinner for 40 here. The servers were spectacular. The coordinator, Lindsay, was ideal for a personal event. The food was perfect. The chicken breast was moist, tender, and delicious. Went back for scones and tea in the morning. Homerun!!!
Grace Johnson
This was such a pleasant and delicious restaurant! They have many outdoor seating options and were very accommodating with providing us a table where we felt comfortable. The drinks and food were amazing. The cheese plate was spectacular and our service was great. Would definitely return!
Albe Park
Enjoyed a wonderful anniversary dinner. Food was delicious and good atmosphere. The friendly and attentive staff made it even better. We really enjoyed our night and definitely will go again when we want to treat ourselves.
Nick LoPorto
Talula's is a must visit for dining in Philadelphia. This is a fine restaurant in the sense of atmosphere, service and especially culinary expertise. From the old fashion style martini to the cheese plate, peaches and bacon appetizer and petite filet this was an amazing experience and I can't wait to visit again!
Kendra Lebo
Always great food and service. Delicious brunch.
Jill
Stopped in to pick up some desserts to take home and they were delicious. Great menu and a lovely dining room. Outdoor ding options looked really adorable too! Will return!
Ibrahim Jabado

Kamile Warner
The food was amazing. Josh was great! Great atmosphere. Perfect for date night or an outing with friends.
Maggie Gallagher
A hidden gem. Brunch was fabulous. The best eggs Benedict I ever had. Highly recommended.
Vic
One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had! I went there for my anniversary dinner last month and they did not disappoint.
The menu was very interesting and stood out. We ended up getting several drinks, which were delicious and not too strong. I had the smoked pork belly and my partner had the steak; flavors worked well together, complex, and overall incredible!
The staff were kind and so attentive. Ambiance was still cozy and intimate, even on a busy Saturday evening. Definitely coming here again!
Dan F.
Great meal. The "Master Class" cheese board, mushroom and charred onion pizza, and seared sea scallops and gulf shrimp were all standouts food wise. The short rib had great flavor as well. Every dish we ordered was very good at worst and great at best. Cocktail-wise, the Workaholic (hazelnut espresso white-Russian) was incredible. I'm usually not a big cream/milk cocktail person, but this might change that. It was a great, if not incredibly rich, pairing with the decadent warm banana rum blondie. The Happy Camper cocktail was also solid.
Brandi Patrick
This place was delicious, and the garden ambiance was so cute! The cocktails were also creative and tasty and the service was on point! Can't wait to go back! Went for a mother's day dinner.
Matt Young
Excellent meal and excellent service. The god was insanely good. Try the mushroom soup and definitely get the biscuits. Was a great place for four people to dine. Everything was amazing.
Paul Kushnir
We decided to stop in Philly for brunch and I found this place based upon family friendly reviews. We were glad to go there because it was probably the best breakfast spot we’ve ever gone to. Highly recommended and will look to make reservations for outside seating next time.
wenya luo
The restaurant food is delicious and the service is also very good.

Beautiful seating options both inside and out. The food is amazing and everything is always so fresh rich tasting. The staff is absolutely lovely as well. I look forward to my dinners here every time I visit Philadelphia. I especially love and recommend the salmon.

Recommend- cheddar biscuits, mushroom soup, scallops&shrimp with 🍋 risotto, zeppole 👌👌👌👌 We experienced lovely service inside a lovely space 👏
Michael Magro Jr
Had dinner for the third time in several years last night, and it did not disappoint! My party of four each enjoyed a shared pasta app; an individual app; an entree; and two shared desserts. The potato gnocchi were delicious! And the scallops were cooked to perfection. Accompanied by great drinks and enthusiastic service, I would certainly go back!
Devy Setyono
Absolutely the perfect spot for a romantic dinner. Make sure you get one of the charcuterie. I really don't have any complains about the place and my overall experience was wonderful. Food, was definitely delicious and I would love to come back again
Jonathan Chu
absolutely fantastic food and great service from a knowledgeable staff. thoughtful ambience as well.
+Went back and my first amazing experience was not a fluke at all. Wonderful food and service, and this time I sat outside in the garden which was very pleasant.
Maeve Fallt
The best cheese plates in Philly! We find a new cheese that we LOVE every time. I appreciate that they offer a seasonal plate as well. Have never been disappointed by any other food on the menu - it is all so fresh and delicious! Highly recommend!
Rafal Gusciora
Came here for a dinner. No reservation, I think we got lucky as there were people hanging out by the hostes' desk all the time. I would suggest calling in advance. Food was great but a bit on the expensive side.

Absolutely delicious cocktails and food! We sat at the bar (which I recommend if the occasion permits) and visited with the bartender who knew so much about the food and Philly! The World Traveler cheese board is amazing and I highly recommend the Wanderer cocktail!
Will Nash
Talula’s Garden is one of the best restaurants in Philly for American cuisine with tasty entrees and solid cocktails to match.
I tried the Chicken entree, and it did not disappoint! The southwestern flavors fit perfectly with the chicken. This place has a nice aura and is very decorative—come here for a good dinner, great drinks and a nice environment!
Florina M
Best mushroom soup and wonderful yellow corn grits. Very good service.
Jade Emileee
Beautiful restaurant, amazing paddock to plate menu. Food tastes incredible and huge wine list which staff will help you match to your good.
Karim Hafazalla
Talula's is perfect for any occasion, especially dates. The patio is breathtaking, but the inside is just as scenic. The cheeseboard is a must. Drinks are delicious (and boozy) as well as a wide variety of wines to pair with any dish. The servers were knowledgeable, approachable, and passionate. The dinner was delicious and the dessert sublime.
Christina Vedar
The atmosphere at Talula's is super cute and relaxing! The service was great and the food was amazing.
Javier Kohen
Outstanding food and vibe. Everything we ordered tasted amazing, especially the muffins with lemon curd and the ribs and egg bowl. Just looking at the staff pass by with plates for other tables made me want to reach out and grab other people's orders so I could try more of the food :-) The restaurant is spacious, and nicely furnished and decorated. Each space has its own flair. The prices weren't bad (though I was visiting from out of town, so your mileage may vary).
Felipe Montefuscolo
Food wise , very good.
Lisa L
Brunch here really made my day! The lemon blueberry pancakes and cheese plate were delicious! This place is a must try.
Lauren Chamberlain
Exceptional food and seasonal menu. Phenomenal service and the food was truly impeccable. Great cocktail menu, and wine selection by the glass or bottle. Cozy outdoor nooks and roomy indoor seating as well. This is a must!
Iain MacMillan
Great place, atmosphere is fantastic, very open warm and exciting. The food was delicious, my compliments to the chef. Our server was polite, very attentive, she added to the joy of our dining experience. Will definitely go again and again. Park at the Hopkinson House garage the attendants are great guys. Enjoy.
Cristina Monastero
Consistently great food and service and one of my favorite patios in the city for outside dining.
Cruise Control
Food was good, wine was good, service was good. But we felt rushed. Food came very quickly, faster than drinks. We were in and out in 1.5 hrs.Would have liked some spacing between courses
Larry Rivero
Great experience
Food was great and the service to match
From appetizers, drinks to coffee
Tyler made great suggestions

...went there for Sunday brunch (you have to make a reservation) ...beautiful little spot tucked away in the heart of Washington Sq. ...professional, courteous, friendly staff ...great service, prompt ...delicious, well presented food ...gorgeous atmosphere, both inside and out ...a little pricey, but worth it.

THE BEST MEAL OF MY LIFE
I kid you not. I texted everyone I knew about how much I loved it. I have eaten at many restaurants all over the world, and this was the first meal I can remember in a long time where I was in awe after every bite.
We ate there for dinner indoors on a Monday evening. I ordered the roasted beets (side as my starter), the pork belly for my entree, and the chocolate and coffee mousse for dessert. Our server was incredible. And it's not always the case, but every other staff member communicated so professionally with their guests and even other staff - that really says something about a place!
Wonderfully warm and cozy atmosphere. It is the only place I'll eat when I'm back in Philly.

My family (myself, my husband and our ten year old son) had the most spectacular experience at Talula’s Garden. We were in Philadelphia for one night for my kiddo’s spring break. The service was wonderful and every single thing we ordered was delicious — Cheddar biscuits, salmon, branzino, scallops and shrimp, desserts (key lime, apple tart, chocolate mousse, the cocktails, the wine. My son said “I love everything about this meal” and asked the server to send his compliments to the chef (unprompted by us)! Thank you for a memory we’ll have forever. Well worth the investment.
Catherine Hidalgo Jara
Absolutely delicious as usual, especially the ravioli appetizer. Also, shoutout to Al who made my birthday dinner one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Best server at Talula’s!
Aaron Schmerling
This place was perfect. Food was excellent and service was excellent. One of the most memorable meals I've had since covid began. Only complaint would be we got there at 5:30 for our 5:45 reservation and the host said they were seating people only at the time of their reservation even though there was plenty of outside seats still available. Made us wait 12 minutes for no reason.
Chef 570
I had the duck and wild rice, it was outstanding i would have to say. My server was right in spot .
The only thing i disliked was i made reservation at 7:30 and our talb was not ready ready so they offer us to sit in the bar area. While we waited
So as we eaited there were 2 our couples waiting before us.
They never offered a free glass of wine for the wait we ended up standing in the bar area with our jackets on for 30 mins. The hostess never came back to ask us if we were okay. I had to approach them.
They need to work on that.
Amy Snipes
We booked an early dinner before traveling back home for a small birthday getaway. Although the service was good and the food flavorful, there were two issues that made our experience less than perfect. First and foremost, the soup was HOT - so much so that the roof of my mouth was badly burned. I’m still not able to eat and drink without pain days later. So please test the temperature of your soup before consuming it! Finally, the tables are spaced closely. I requested something intimate by a window but was told no because the window table had 4 seats and we were a party of 2. A few moments later, a party of 2 was sat there. I would not visit again, but this could have been a good place for a casual dinner if we had not encountered issues.
Christopher James
My wife and I love this restaurant. We recently went for her birthday. I recommend the cheese plate. It's really a fun dining experience. While the food is great, what I like most about Talula's Garden is the service. Our waitress was excellent. My entree, the brisket, was very dry and when I told her, we were soon visited by a gentleman who asked about it, apologized and offered a replacement. I chose the salmon this time and it was excellent. There was no doubting, no argument, just excellent service. I give five stars because while they made a mistake with the brisket, mistakes happen to us all and it's what you do afterwards that matters.
Jack Zhan
Fantastic food, service was very attentive without hovering, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. I am certainly planning on returning and recommending this place to friends.
john henry
This was the second time my wife and I ate at The Garden, and it was probably two too many. I probably would have given it 4 stars the first time, but I was highly disappointed on my second visit. Our meals were just okay, with my shrimp being totally overcooked as well as the risotto. The ambiance was admirable, but that's not why I chose this restaurant. For $240, I would have been more satisfied eating at a higher priced steak house. Sorry, Talula, your garden didn't sow an enjoyable meal for us 😞
Bridget Fay
Excellent food and service! The portions were bigger than we expected, which was a nice surprise, but didn't leave any room for dessert. This is a must when visiting the city
Abraheme Hassan
You must make reservations here. Always busy and for a very good reason!!. Everything was super delicious, except for the apple tartin dessert.
Cauliflower soup was immaculate, never had cauliflower soup before. Their charred onion pizza, and cheese plate was perfect.
I asked for medium done hangar steak but they gave me a medium rare and that was ok.
jody pallante
Great food. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Interesting space.
Brian Waters
Attentive staff (Elijah) creative, photoworthy dishes (Autumn Soup), great ambience. Can't miss. Will make a point to go again next time I am in Philly!
L Cook
Excellent service. Our waiter was experienced and attentive. We had a wonderful time and the food was on point. The restaurant itself is beautiful and it makes for the perfect romantic date night.
Jon Burr
The food is imaginative, the people are kind and meticulous, and the service is spectacular.
Greg Rice
A special anniversary gift from family. Excellent food, impeccable service.
Steven Shedlin
A wonderful meal from start to finish. We ate outside in a distanced, heated spot. Our server, Tatum, made excellent suggestions in drinks, entrees and desserts and we all enjoyed our meals. The pacing was great, the food was uniformly delicious and 4 people went home really happy.
Audrey Rotindo
My friends and I had an amazing experience here on 2/5. We were celebrating one of my friend's birthdays. Our waiter, Seth was superb and the food was fantastic. We all shared the cheddar biscuits and cheese board, which were both mouth-watering. I had the scallop dish as a main entree, which was also fantastic. I will definitely be returning here in the near future. A+++ I would say my only disappointment was waiting an additional 25 minutes for a table, even though we had a reservation.
Leah Williams
A little expensive but worth the experience. We arrived for brunch but didn’t know we needed reservations. Instead of turning us away, the host was very accommodating and found us a table on the inside. I was glad he did because it was a great experience. The food was also enjoyable. Tables aren’t crowded and service isn’t rushed. The staff allows you to feel at ease while enjoying the atmosphere and food.
A E
Always delicious drinks, food, and desserts and amazing vegan options.
Maria Kutyeva
Food was amazing 👏 Thank you for making our date night perfect.
Michael J. Reilly III
Absolutely spectacular! 1st time there, this past Sunday brunch, ate in outside cabana. Private heating which was a plus. Avacado toast, Candied Bacon and the soups were incredible. Service was spot on. Pancakes with blue berries and Lemon zest, quite tasty. Martinis and the specialty cocktails were made to perfection. Certainly will be returning.
Raechel Lambert
Incredible food, service, and vibe. 10/10 would recommend to a friend
Jon F
Absolutely fantastic in every way. Went for dinner for my birthday last night. We were greeted with smiles and sat immediately. Dining room is gorgeous, with artwork everywhere and some of the highest ceilings I've ever seen.
Everyone was very friendly and attentive. Wait staff was excellent. Drinks were exceptional. Order the one called The Healer. One of the best cocktails I've tried period. You will not be disappointed.
For food, we got the biscuits, smoked pork belly, and beef brisket. We were blown away by all of them. Beautifully presented and a fantastic array of flavors throughout. Care was clearly put into the preparation of everything, which really showed in the presentation and taste.
Bottom line is, everything about this place made us feel good. We left very happy. For our first time in Philly, this was a fantastic way to kick off our trip. We would absolutely come back here again and would recommend anyone visiting the city to give it a try. Even if you live in the city and haven't gone, make your way over. This place is not to be missed.
Mary Kennedy
The cheese board was delicious albeit modest. The fried chicken w/sage gravy was also excellent. Service was warm and prompt. But there were enough near misses to make me doubt the value for money. For example, the smoked greens were too bitter to enjoy. The ricotta and goat cheese ravioli was undercooked, making it far too toothsome, and the best part of the cornbread was the cinnamon maple butter. For the money spent, it all should have been excellent.
Mr. President
My girlfriend & I had a great time here celebrating our 1 year anniversary! The food was fresh and delicious and the drinks were delightful. The service was also very good as they made sure to continually check in with us to make sure we were having a good experience!
Marie Lynn
Love the food. The wait times aren't too bad but it's best to make a reservation. I've done both indoor and outdoor seating and service was great both times.
Alex Karol
Food was very good. Not a top 10 but very good. Waiter was a bit awkward but could just be covid protocol. Either way, I would definitely eat there again if I was looking for something familiar and not wanting to try something different in the city.
Neil Bell
For an upscale establishment on the higher end of the price spectrum in Philadelphia, obviously expectations start high - and Talula's Garden absolutely does not disappoint. The ambience is classy but cozy and relaxed, the service is attentive without being forced or overbearing, and the food was both inventive and flawlessly prepared.
If that isn't enough, the portions are definitely on the large size, so you won't be leaving hungry. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here as our usual haunt has still not reopened - and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Joy Blakeman
What a wonderful dinner we had on our road trip from Florida to New York. Thinking this was just another road trip meal, my husband and I were so wrong. From the fried chicken with terrific sides to my husband's pork belly to the over the top key lime with Graham ice cream, it was a meal to remember. Thank you Hannah for reserving a table we felt comfortable at and to Angie and the rest of the staff at Talula's thank you for a dinner we thoroughly enjoyed.
Neil Voskoboynikov
Great place to take friends or colleagues when in town. The menu can satisfy even the most picky eater. Hip vibes and location second to none in Washington square. As the name says, awesome garden in the summer.
Janice Newton
I had a really nice date night here. Food was awesome! Here's to eating dessert first!!!
Alex Bartnik
I really can't say enough good things about this restaurant. If you come here when it's warm, the outdoor seating is great, but the restaurant has a great atmosphere and decor inside. The wait staff is pleasant and plentiful, so your needs are always met quickly.
As for the food, it's absolutely fantastic. The presentation is beautiful, and the dishes are all balanced and delicious, and portions are just right. If you order an appetizer and a main dish, you'll surely leave feeling satisfied.
Mike Belli
This place is amazing we had the most beautiful night to sit in the garden. Food was excellent and the service was great.
Tarik Dzemaili
Their ingredients come across as very fresh and wholesome. The salads and anything that involves vegetables always turn out amazing.
Gordon Cohen
The appetizers, main courses, and desserts were all superb. Service was top-notch. The staff really moves at an accelerated pace. Their corn bread with maple butter is always great. The buratta toast came with excellent accompaniments. The hanger steak had a marvelous sauce and tasty sides. The peanut butter brownie and smooth ice cream were also delish. Expensive but one of the best in Philly.
C. Ray
Amazing! The curried apple and butternut squash soup is insane. I ate the whole bowl trying to figure out just how much I liked it though. The flavors are there but almost to the point they are combating each other rather than complimenting but wow! Cheddar-chive biscuits are delish. The short ribs were tasty. Fairly large portion. The smoked veggies were a great match! The staff was very friendly and attentive. So good it felt like there was a sensor on my water glass telling them I was on my second to last sip. I didn’t have to need for anything. Even the manager came to check on me.
Steven Hahn
The review are correct: the food is excellent. But wanted to note that the customer service was great too. My wife and i were seated outside yesterday (as we dont dine indoors yet, in general), but it started to rain. The restaurant was able to pack up our orders to go, but the manager took the extra step of providing us complimentary croissant desserts as an "apology" for not being able to serve us. They went above and beyond what they needed to, so just wanted to thank them here.
Michael Roesch
Lovely as always, took my mother out for dinner. She has never been here, and loved it. Wait staff, Peter was superb. Food was perfectly prepared. (Sorry no photos)
Sasha hakadosh
Absolutely lovely!! Dessert menu stood out to me instantly!😍 My parents loved the heating for the outdoor seating!! They had some how had vented heat, instead of the typical heat lamps!! Drinks were positively splendid! I shall return! …
Paolo Sarmenghi
The food is really tasty, the ingredients are well chosen. The place is nice and the prices are on point for what you get. Recommend.
Chidi Aningo
Great food spot. Great date spot. Great brunch spot.
Avocado Toast is a must!
Khalid Brown
So to follow along with my first date reviews. This place was awesome. All the other reviews of a good atmosphere is 100% accurate. We sat outside and it was a perfect night. They had heaters which fought off cold and our waitress was great.
We had fried oyster and my date had the Autumn Cauliflower Pear Soup.
For dinner was the beef and broccoli and Handmade Ricotta Ravioli.
We wanted dessert, but was to full.
This is a great date spot and all the food was great. Would love to go back and try tasting menu too!
Diane Connolly
My husband had the salmon, and they were kind to change his meal slightly because he doesn’t eat dairy products. It looked as though the chef didn’t care about the presentation. The salmon was put on top of the spinach that looked like it was just thrown on his plate. I had the shrimp and scallops with lemon risotto. The shrimp and scallops were delicious, but the risotto was very bland. We were disappointed for the price we paid.
Frank Rotonta
Great atmosphere and amazing food! Service was impeccable.
Maryann Jordan
Ambiance was great, and the service was incredible. Everything was socially distant and clean.
The food was fresh, cooked perfectly, and delicious.
I had the heirloom tomato wedge salad which was super refreshing. The Tuscan short ribs dish had this amazing polenta and the short ribs were tender with the perfect caramelized crust. I couldn't resist the cornbread side with maple butter -- it could have been dessert too. Actual dessert was the butterscotch pudding which was way better than expected - light, sweet, and just a perfect end to the meal.
Jordan McKenna
Great restaurant best food I've had in Philly this far!
Latisha Andino
The service was impeccable - but the shrimps and grits needs better seasoning 💜
Kimberly Madden
For having "garden" in the name, not many vegetarian options =( pricey for what it is, too. Nice ambiance and drinks though
Karissa Carmichael
Great cocktails. Food good.
Petal M.
The food was so good I wanted to hug the chef ...the shrimp and grits was the best I've ever had.
Caleb S
Fine dining at its finest. Everything was good. Maybe the best American food in Philadelphia. P.S. I need to know how to make those Tabasco collard greens.
Tyler Packwood
Thanks to the situation that the world has put onto us all, I haven't seen my son face to face for over a year. We finally found a time to get together and decided to make a trip to Philly. The next task was to find a place for dinner, and this ended up being the perfect choice. I don't really want to get into the food itself because that might suggest that one dish is better than the other. In truth, we had our server choose our meal for us which became only dirty napkins and clean plates. If one aspect of this gorgeous experience did stand out above others, it could easily be our server Vanessa, she had the sensibility of not only complimenting this great restaurant, but to elevate it. To Vanessa, and the restaurant as a whole, thanks for making Dad a hero.
Gordon Collier
Excellent dinner. The pork belly and mezaluna was perfect. Waitstaff knew everything about the menu and drinks. Service was fast and efficient. Great job!
Ishraki
Delicious food and good service. We had the fish fillet, the scallops, and the beef shoulders. All very good :)
Amber Lennon
Absolutely lovely experience. Very grateful to the staff who took my calls regarding my concerns over the cold (it was my mother's bday and I was worried!). Everyone was kind and incredibly patient. Our dinner in their "streetery" was incredibly warm--even on a 25 degree night! Very impressed with the heat set up. The food was creative and delicious. Our waitress Christina/Christine (?) was so attentive and helpful. Can wait to come back to the garden in warm weather.
Nathan Stoner
Awesome place for dinner in a unique atmosphere. Talula’s has become our go-to place for bringing guests when they’re visiting from out of town. Everyone is always impressed!
Stephanie Ottemiller
Really delicious food albeit heavier than I had expected. Definitely get dessert! The waitstaff were knowledgeable and accommodated the vegan at our table. However, there are very few if any truly vegan options. The atmosphere is wonderful but try to avoid getting a table near the door unless you want cold wind blown at you all night.
Sarah
I went here for my birthday dinner and the food was outstanding. I was offered little starters before each course because of my birthday and the quality of care put into the food was evident. The Scottish salmon was one of the four best foods I have ever eaten. A great place to go for a nice meal out. Pricey but worth every cent.
Jaime Appling
I loved everything about this place: the vibe, atmosphere, cocktails, drink pairing, the perfectly balanced meal... every detail is intentional. A new favorite.
Michele Oskanian
Lovely atmosphere. Food amazing. Service impeccable.
Aiko Dorr-Dorynek
The food was good, about what you would expect from a Steven star restaurant. The staff was masked at all times,(but not on a list of all vaccinated staff restaurants). The desserts better than average. Not enough gluten-free ones though. The expresso tasted as if it came out of a Keurig, I wanted freshly made. You would think Steven Starr has the money and the corporation to keep all of his restaurants afloat would be willing to pay for a barista at the restaurants since he's charging as much as he is to give the customers a good cup of coffee not just an experience. I would hope more from him. Or his company I should say. Here's wishing to the local restaurants staying afloat so we can find truly well made food and good coffee when they're looking for, so corporate food restaurants do not become the norm.
Sheru Arora
The scallops were soooo good i rubbed it on my face. Then my girl got the lamb. I wanted to try some because she basically had an orgasm. That feeling very quickly turned when my fork hit her plate. She ripped off her dress and swore to defend her meal to the death. I survived. She on she the other hand is survived by me. R.i.p.
Keith Lipari
Everything was fantastic, service, food, ambiance. The pork belly was divine but the warm blonde with ice cream was the highlight of the meal.. Just a perfect night to celebrate my birthday at Talula's Garden.
valeria pena
The food portion was super small 😭
The restaurant is beautiful, the hostess was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks and even made an awesome recommendation for a non alcoholic drink. Even the manager went to our table to make sure we were enjoying our meal, that was nice of him.
Adam W
One of our favorite restaurants in Philly for brunch. The service is amazing and the garden for outdoor dining is beautiful. Excellent food and drinks as always. The staff are very safe with COVID 19 precautions, temp checks face shields etc. We were happy that the outdoor tables had heaters. They also took very good care of our dietary restrictions. Can't wait to come back!
WolfSayUwU C
So my dad and his friend were talking about the stars and his friend misheard my dad and thought my dad said 7 stars and you know what I thought it really was 7 stars the staff were very helpful and kind and the food was probably the best food I Have ever eaten I had the steak and my dad had the shrimp and his friend had ravioli it was all delicious.
rimla khawaja
Dining here surpassed my expectations!!! Delicious. NYC quality.
Adam Brewer
Absolutely amazing!!! One of the best dinners I've had in 10 years. I was blown away, the flavors are so unique and clean. I cant wait to come back. The bartenders are very good and speak with sincerity. I can't say enough about this place!!
Yetunde Auman
We celebrated my cousin inlaws shower and the food was everything. Loved it, the only downside is parking and entryway visibility
Apoorva Babu
The food was simply amazing ! I went there to celebrate my birthday with my husband. We are both vegetarians and even though the menu only had one vegetarian entree, the chef was nice enough to make another item from the tasting menu entree size. We had the tiramisu for dessert which was excellent. It is an upscale place. Good for dates and celebrations.
Maria L
This place is a hidden gem, it was an amazing experience. Magnificent food, service and atmosphere. The dishes are inventive, made with locally sourced ingredients. The decoration is lovely with high ceilings, and imaginative designs. Perfect for a romantic dinner. The staff is very accommodating, mindful of any allergies and knowledgeable. Never pass up on the desserts, they are out of this world in deliciousness! Be prepared to be amazed when you try their dishes, you will be hooked and will consider this place as your new favorite restaurant.
carmine travagline
Food was really delicious. Loved the fried chicken. The service was better ... tracey our server was pleasant and professional. Table top maintenance was seamless and not over obtrusive.
Joshua Sirchio
Absolutely wonderful food, but the service leaves much to be desired. We had a wonderful tasting menu and it couldn't have been more delicious (can't emphasize that enough!). That being said, our meal (for 2) took over 3 hours, which definitely did not seem normal after talking to people who had the tasting menu previously. Our waitress disappeared several times for longer than 30 minutes at a time while the table next to us had a very attentive waiter. It really hurt our anniversary evening because by the time we were finished, we just wanted to go back to our hotel. Would definitely recommend the food, but cross your fingers that you get a quality server.
gustavo lacey
For appetizers, we ordered the cheese steak rolls and gnocchi in a truffle sauce. The cheese steak rolls were amazing. They were served steaming hot, within 10 minutes of our order. The gnocchi came out a few minutes later, and was really delicious. The gnocchi was soft and tasty, and the sauce was packed with flavor. You will definitely have an enjoyable dining experience.
Jesse Newton
Delish delish delish!!! A must for brunch!
Samuel Shiner
My fiancee and I came in to celebrate my birthday last week and had one of the best dinners we've had since covid.
Our server Vanessa took extremely good care of us and made sure our meal was perfectly paced throughout, as well as excellent recommendations the length of the menu.
Portions are somewhat generous, so we erred on the side of taking a whole second dinner home with us 🙃 we started with the biscuits and fig pizza, and then the pappardelle with kennett square mushrooms and the saffron seafood risotto. The risotto was one of my favorite dishes all night, with little anchovy croutons dotting the plate.
For entrees we had their famous fried chicken and the scallops!
By the time we needed to order dessert we were both stuffed with a small mountain of takeout boxes beside our table, but we ordered the lemon pudding, the molten chocolate cake, and at Vanessa's recommendation, the bread pudding.
When dessert came the bread pudding was definitely the star of the show although the other two were delicious as well.
We had such a great time, and I'd also like to thank Josh, Nicole, and Andrew who were always nearby our table ensuring everything was perfect 🥰

Great grab and go snacks and some really good coffee options.
Kelly Seppy
Beautiful setting. Friendly atmosphere. Super food. Go here!
David Andre
Delicious and pretty, outdoor area is great. Very pricey though.
matthew green
Enjoyed a lovely brunch in their outdoor garden area today. Server, Angie, was attentive, warm and professional, even suggesting I try the oat milk in my cappuccino, an excellent suggestion. Beet cured gravlax was simple yet delicious, elevated by the unexpected accompaniment of lemon curd. My companion enjoyed the asparagus benedict with truffle hollandaise, a classic combination of spring/summer flavors prepared perfectly. We split a side Belgium waffle too, because when you're at brunch, why not!? Service was great, food was delicious, ambiance, outside, birds chirping and people chatting was delightful. I look forward to my future brunches there, next time I will try to save room for the fresh carrot cake, which looked fantastic.
Dan Wions
Service and ambience were fantastic. Food was not great. Salmon was rubbery, fried chicken dry (and those were recommended by the wait staff!), and vegan portion size was less than half the plate they served it on.
Susan Keidel
Great visit! Delicious food, great drinks, and excellent service.
April Rataski
Salmon dish was amazing! Really enjoyed everything there.
marco lopez
Went for brunch. Considering all the challenges with the pandemic, this place has met and exceeded expectations. That said, the food not only was visually enticing but made my mouth and soul happy. Visually, the place is quite attractive with its vaulted, tiered ceilings and intriguing art work. The music was surprisingly modern and fun. Combined with professional and pleasing service makes this meal an all around treat for the senses. Bon appepite.
Darwin Hull
I just realized I never submitted a review of this incredible restaurant. I made a reservation without ever having set foot in the space before knowing that I was planning on proposing to my now fiancee beforehand. She said yes, so we decided to spring for the 10 course tasting menu.
The servers, chefs, and even the general manager seemed to be going all out to ensure we had a great experience. I don't live in the area so can't take more folks there directly, but if you're on the fence I very much recommend them.
Am L
I’m puzzled by the good reviews. My friend and I came in for an early dinner and drink tonight, and we both found the food very mediocre. The shrimp in my salad were completely over-cooked. From the texture, I’m guessing they boiled them. The salad itself was lacking flavor and was composed oddly. My friend’s mushroom pizza lacked salt and the balsamic dressing made the pizza too sweet. The carrot cake was average, and the carrot purée on the plate was unappetizing. The ginger ice cream served with the cake was good, however.
The only reason I’m giving them three stars is for the service. Our server was friendly attentive without hovering. I would not return, but if you are only getting a cocktail it might be an okay place.
Greg Myer
We had our anniversary dinner here and had a great meal and great experience. I had put in opentable that it was our anniversary and they treated us to some nice appetizers and a small dessert. My wife and I agreed that all parts of the meal - especially the cheese plate - were outstanding. I will definitely come back when the weather is warmer so we can sit in the outdoor area, which looks great.
Joseph
Must-visit spot with an incredibly tasty menu and cocktail list. I've been here once for dinner and once for brunch, and each experience was fantastic. I got the Crab Benedict last time I was there and loved every minute of it. The garden fills up quickly on a nice morning, so get a reservation if you can!
Jay Romberg
Had a late reservation that was an absolutely amazing evening. The drinks = great. The wait staff = amazing. The food = delicious. The ambiance = beautiful. I couldn't say enough great things about this place. It was so great I sent them a thank you email after my visit.
We dined outside and even the weather was on our side.
I'd highly recommend visiting.
King “Coach” Hinton
The Service and the Food is Amazing, we didn't think we would be able to sit outside in the garden but as the Universe would have it, two seats waiting just for us....Outstanding
james igoe
Excellent Food, Service, and Interior in Philly - We are accustomed to excellent, higher-end restaurants of Manhattan, and were disappointed with our meals in Philadelphia, but Talula's was a welcome respite. We did not opt for the tasting menu, as my wife did not like all the dishes, but a la carte I ordered the pear salad, the duck breast entree with a side of grits, and a caramel bar dessert, while my spouse had the parsnip soup - I loved this - blackened chicken, and the banana maple mousse. We loved all of it. The drinks were fun, and the service was attentive. Our only issue, albeit minor, was our initial seating was next to a loud group of 6, and although it was near a front window that soared 20+ feet, with gorgeous original detailing on the walls next to us, we had to ask for another seat. This is a loud place with many groups, so be mindful of where you are placed.
Beth K
Wonderful dining experience! Staff was warm and attentive. Very accommodating to my gluten free needs. The Kennett Square Mushroom Risotto was the best I have ever had anywhere. And, I was surprised with a light and airy biscuit with a warm honey butter when the bread was served! My friend had a specialty pizza with apples and for dessert an Apple Tatin that she described as "outstanding". We will definitely return again to sample more of their enticing menu!
Dennis Liu
Super nice place in old city, but rather expensive. You are not coming here for a quick bite with your pals after work. This is a romantic dinner or a fancy brunch spot. The out door seating is very cute, but the food matches the decor. It's really pricey with smaller portions. Dinner w/ food and drinks should bring you to about $50-$100 each.
After being seated and ordering, we were given complimentary little brioches with a fancy butter that were absolutely divine. We shared a croquette starter which had amazing sauce, but came with 5 tiny gumball sized croquettes.
I ordered the duck. The duck portion was kind of small, but deliciously cooked. The bed of rice and veggies had a sauce that was a bit too salty for my taste, i would not order it again based purely on that.
Maria Quattrone
We had an awesome meal on 21/21/21. The beets, papperdale, and tuna crudo for appetizers, everything was amazing! For dinner we had the bronzino- loved this so much, goat cheese ravioli and short ribs. So good! Everything was safe and servers on point and professional. I highly recommend this restaurant. Yum!!!!
Vince Cavallaro
Super nice atmosphere. The outdoors seating has beautiful garden ambiance and the indoor is more of a cozy traditional restaurant. Food was on the pricey side, but staff was very friendly.
James Bradley
come here pretty often for special occasions, decent prices for the professionalism and ambiance you get here. never had a bad meal or cocktail, Servers always very professional. can be hard to get a short reservation for prime dinner time, even harder to get a seat outside in their garden area when the weather is nice. still worth going. also I think they have a cool bathroom.
Nicole Scherbina
The food is thoughtfully prepared, the combinations of flavours and ingredients excellent, and the cocktails paired well with the dishes.
The service, however, was the standout for us. Pleasant, unobtrusive but attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about everything on the menu, this was some of the best service we've had at a restaurant. Our server, Chris, was amazing, as was every staff member we dealt with.
Lauren Castille
My husband booked us a trip to Philly for Valentine’s Day, and after doing some research, decided on Talula’s Garden for our V-Day dinner date. It seriously could not have been better. Our server was so attentive and knowledgeable. She recommended trying a cheese plate and it was incredible. Our entrees and drinks were also phenomenal. I had the risotto and my hubby had the short rib. The atmosphere was great, and it was overall a fantastic experience!!
Erica Harrold
This is one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. The food was insanely good, the plating was beautiful, and the service was next level. Many members of the staff waited on us to ensure a seamless experience. The outdoor patio was also beautiful and scenic.
Mario L.
Talulas exceeded our expectations, yes, the hype is real.
My wife and I were in Philly for the weekend and decide to book a table here.
We ended doing the chef's tasting about a 10-12 course meal (hard to keep count!) and it was a superb culinary experience.
Some of the items in the tasting included, Tuna, baked pastries, fried oysters, scallops, caviar fettuccine, short rib, assortment of cheeses and dessert; all done in-house of course.
It might seem pricey but considering the amount of freshly prepared delicious dishes, the time it takes to make them and the overall experience, it's absolutely worth it and highly recommend.
Eliza Fredette Koerner
They're food is incredibly creative and always in season. I've never had a more unique dish with delicious cocktail pairings. I recommend their global chessboard. Although small the cheese are very rich and make it filling and a fun experience.
Michael Saka
Wow, one of the best meals I have had in a while.
Zahra Batool
Amazing place for date night. Our meal was delicious and our server was extraordinary. We will happily be back!
Avery Demarest
Five star food! The seasonal menus are prime. I came in the fall, and I ordered ravioli with fresh ricotta and a pumpkin puree... This wasn't overly "pumpkin spice," it was mild and flavourful. Heavenly! The same goes for the pumpkin spice creme brulee. The other meals looked amazing and my table mates agreed. Local mushroom risotto, chicken and apples, lamb and pasta...
Our service was wonderful; the atmosphere was rustic, with heated outdoor seating and great indoor ambiance. Food was to die for, although pricy. Great for a date night.
Allie G
Great meal. Great service. We shared a tasty cheese plate and then both of us had a delicious entree. Food was fantastic! Servers were all very nice and attentive. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. Would definitely go here again.
Ben Slivka
Lovely dinner with friends. I was visiting from Seattle, they have lived in Philly for 30+ years. One of their favorites! I ordered an expensive bottle of wine!
Florence McNelly
We walked here for our 25th wedding anniversary dinner as we just recently moved into Philly. The service was impeccable, the food delicious, and we even got an anniversary dessert on the house. It is a great place for special occasions!
Robin Sawarynski
Warm, upbeat and Earthy vibe. Food was fantastic, drinks done perfectly and staff very friendly and accommodating. Can’t wait to come again!
Christina Barker
Went in Feb 2021. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is covered and heated. There is air flow so you may be a bit chilly, but you are being safe so....
The food was great, all of it.
Butternut squash soup
Salmon
Short Rib
Brussel Sprouts
Bread pudding
The cornbread has a maple butter that is AMAZING. Order it, thank me later.
We also ordered the Grenache-Syrah blend. It was delicious.
Have a lovely time. 😍
jiancong wang
Very expensive for what it is. Served cold and premaid baggle as I ordered breakfast there
Philip Branson
Great food and atmosphere
Selection of specialty cocktails, expertly crafted martinis
Ate in the garden, bustling but still quiet enough for conversation.
Expertly crafted cheese and charcuterie board. Sea bass was delicious. Tasting menu with wine pairing looked great. All food for our party was well prepared and beautifully presented. Service was attentive and unobtrusive. Now on my go to list for Philly.
Alessandro Moses
Our party of 8 was finished with our entrees by the time our host was brought her missing chicken....server obviously forgot to order as he missed several other details throughout the evening. Nice guy, but over his head in this dining room. Manager comped her chicken and all 8 desserts, but this was a corporate dinner reservation looking for exceptional service, not freebies.
David Nguyen
Ordered the steak special, the risotto, and pork belly last time I went. Delicious, cooked perfectly, and sides were amazing. Service was awesome and the drinks were good.
Joshua Scherer
The food and service is five star.
The atmosphere was noisy, crowded, and anything but romantic and intimate.
Tracy was our hostess and her poise and class in presenting herself was enjoyable yet refreshing. She was knowledgeable with our food selections.
I had a chicken and peaches. Oh my that chicken...delicious. The meat fell apart (melt in your mouth style) as it was cut. There was also a type of cole slaw to garnish the top if the chicken pared well with the peach slices.
I would say not an ideal date location but fairly decent for group hang outs.
Jackie Xu
Dined here for dinner, and every dish was amazing! You can tell the ingredients are fresh. It is pricy, but worth the experience if you’re looking for good quality food.
Maria
This is the best brunch in Philly! Food is always amazing . We have been here at least 6 times for brunch and have had amazing food every time!
Omroy
Great brunch spot with a laid back atmosphere. There's a bar indoors/outdoors which is nice Durning the wait for your table. The white sangria was excellent. We ordered the chicken & waffles, burger & cinnamon roll. All very flavorful. Tatiana our waitress was outstanding!! Will definitely revisit the next time I'm in Philadelphia
Justine Childs Friedman
One of the best meals I have had, ever. Cheese plate was scrumptious. Cocktails, divine. Our server was perfect: informative but not snooty. The one bad part was I didn't save room for dessert!
Valerie
I took my partner here for his birthday! Everyone at Talula's made it extra special!
Everything was fantastic - salads, drinks, entrees, and dessert. Our server made sure that my needs for vegan accommodations were met as well.
The gender-neutral bathroom was executed perfectly! Every stall had full walls and locking doors for absolute privacy - no peeking possible! Why aren't all restrooms like this?
I wish that the restaurant would disallow the use of phones and flashlights, because we encountered some rude use of these by other guests. The atmosphere is romantic, but the mood was often interrupted by other guests' use of flashlights to read the menu, as well as flash photos. Multiple tables around us were passing phones around with flashlights on, so we encountered a few unexpected bright lights in our eyes
Manuel Ignacio Rodríguez Fernández
Great ingredients, plates and experience. Drinks and food are outstanding; desserts don't fall behind either. Don't miss this experience!
Candice Chipman-Shaw
Excellent food!! Impeccable service! Fantastic drinks!! The duck confit with duck breast crepes was incredible. The buttermilk fried oysters delicious! Chicken breast and roasted hen with a flavorful crisp of skin was moist and full of flavor. Mint julep bourbon cocktail was fabulous!
Orange Bottle
Food was amazing. From the appetizers to dessert. The service can definitely improve though. Forgot the name of our server but all he wanted was for us to order more drinks or dishes. Not too professional for such a restaurant.
Mark Bubel
First time here tonight and had dinner. Everything is absolutely amazing. I recommend going with 2-3 people so you can sample the many excellent starters. I had the best chicken ever as the main course. Menu changes frequently based on what's in season. Will definitely be back. Wait service very friendly. They seemed happy to actually be there.
Galen Raines
I was in town on business and had a few hours one evening to stroll around Philadelphia. What a pleasant surprise to learn about 'streeterias' which are a very creative way this city has pushed through COVID to social distance and serve it's customers.
Talula's Garden has taken the 'streeteria' concept to a whole new level! The atmosphere was very inviting with vine covered walls and an added touch of soft lights woven throughout the greenery. The staff only adds to this pleasant experience with not only their knowledge of their appetizing menu but their friendly demeanor as well.
I will admit that I was challenged in selecting an item from the menu as everything immediately jumped out at me. In the end, I selected the Shrimp Tagliatelle, House Saffron Pasta, Sweet Gulf Shrimp, Fennel and Sherry Scented Herb Sauce, Local Shelling Beans. Needless to say, I was extremely satisfied.
If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and pop in to Tallulah's Garden for a sure to be wonderful experience.

Absolutely delicious. Try their cheese samplers, so yummy. The salmon was delicious, as were the salads. Their homemade bread was also top notch. The outdoor seating was wonderful, especially as the sun set and the lights came on. Pricy but well worth it esp for a foodie :)
Laura Knox
Exceptional dining experience from start to finish, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The service was impeccable, the food was creative and delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy yet sophisticated. We can't wait to go back.
We got the fried oysters, pork belly, lobster ravioli, the lamb pasta, and the brussel sprouts. Everything was fantastic.
Phi Chi
I'm so disappointed in myself that I didn't try this place earlier. I would always see it ranked highly on different sites, but because I'm more of a meat and potatoes guy, i would always brush it off as not my kind of restaurant. Was i ever wrong. I'll get things out of the way like atmosphere. . . Very nice, service. . . Very good, but I'm all about the food, so let's get to it. Actually I must say our server Elijah was the best. He really took time to go over the menu, make recommendations, explain the portion sizes of the different entrees (important to someone with a big appetite like myself :). So great job by him. On to the food! First we ordered a cheese plate off the menu. It was a nice variety, from mild to strong cheeses accompanied with nuts, fruits, and honey. Presentation was very well done, and it was a good start to our dinner. For mains i had the Sea Bass, and my friend the Spatachock chicken. We ordered a little vegetable dish of crispy soy-balsamic Brussels sprouts. The sea bass was amazing. The spiced fennel sauce with couscous that it came with could have been on the menu as a soup on it's own, it was that good. Fish was cooked prefect, with a nice crispy skin. I had a few bites of my friends chicken dish, and must say it was very good. The chicken was cooked just right, and the sauces complimented the dish well, but from the overall flavor standpoint, I still liked the sea bass better. The biggest surprise to me was the little dish of Brussels sprouts. I would never have thought in a million years that I would be raving about Brussels sprouts, but that little side dish stole the show. The explosion of flavors that came from that dish was incredible. I know, we are talking about Brussels sprouts! You have to try it to believe it, but since it's seasonal, it might not be on the menu much longer. Great recommendation by Elijah. So what are you waiting for, reserve your table, and treat yourself to an amazing tapestry of flavors. Don't make the mistake I did by passing it up all this time, you won't be disappointed.
Tsuchi Ryū
Fresh seasonal ingredients. Great food, service, and atmosphere.
Suzy Thornley
I love talula’s garden! The menu is amazing and features only the freshest ingredients. The cocktails are always incredible and made with care and skill. The decor is fantastic and provides an amazing environment for any event be it girls night or date night. Highly recommend! Their handling of COVID is also something to rave about. Love this restaurant!
Theresa Spencer
This is definitely the place to go for a delicious and flavorful meal and drinks. The decor is beautiful and the ambiance gives this place a garden like atmosphere anytime of the year. The Farmer is their specialty cocktail which is a blood orange and tequila mixture with a to die for spiced rim. A must try when you go. The shrimp stew was yummy. You can have this dish with or without sausage. Lastly, no dining experience isn't complete without dessert. Try the creme brulee. It's a delicious and perfectly sweetened option.
Bethany C
I was visiting Philadelphia for the first time and wanted a creative meal for dinner. This place definitely met my expectations. I ordered their goat cheese gnocchi. The flavors were delicious together. I then had a the Meyer lemon soufflé cake and it was a great way to end the meal. The only reason I didn’t rate as 5 stars was for the portion size. I wasn’t hungry when I left but I would have been grateful for more on the plate :)
Mike Bradley
There’s nothing I can say that hasn’t been said so I won’t try. The dining space is gorgeous, the food and cocktails are fantastic, management and service are second to none. Best yet, this place manages to do it all with repeatable precision and consistency (which is insanely hard to do at this level). Bob the GM is an incredible fixture here that keeps it all working, and we will always count this place as our favorite restaurant in Philadelphia.
Kevin Whitehead
Great place. Outdoor dining hutches are great on a nice night. Everything I've had here is outstanding. Certainly a little pricey even for the area but you get quality.
Kathy Plover
Such unique food and a wonderful waitstaff!
Angela Bucsok
Amazing experience, exactly what we were hoping for. Prices are in line with other brunch spots in the city - certainly worth it and you can definitely keep your bill under $40 per person. The biscuits and peach jam were delightful, and the smoked salmon was on point - light, refreshing, flavorful. I don't know of any other place you can get French pressed coffee right at your table. You can tell the food is special here - please do yourself a favor and visit this place! I do agree that it's worth shooting for outdoor seating. Thanks Talula's!! 👌🏼
Jim Cameron
Very nice, upscale (expensive) American cuisine restaurant with large (heated) outdoor dining area.
The staff was very knowlegdable and accommodating to my wife's VEGAN diet and each dish was beautifully presented and described by ingredients. Gracious service.
A bit noisy and crowded (on a Friday night) so reservations are a must.
Robert Rees
We popped by the Garden after being told there was no chance of eating at the nearby diner and were able to grab a table without a reservation.
Seeing the option of doing a cheeseboard as a starter I jumped on it being a cheese lover. As a European I was interested in the options that were primarily American and the selection was excellent from blue to soft. The chat around the food from the server was excellent as well and here recommendations were all spot on.
For the main course I had the duck which was excellent and a different take on something that I had found previously a bit greasy. It was a combination of pulled and cured meat in a sharp salad.
I however suffered total pasta envy and should I return I would stick to the recommended pasta. The ravioli was excellent and tasted new world rather than been slavishly Italian.
The meal wasn't cheap and alcohol in particular felt extreme (while also being top quality) but we had a great night and some great food.
Brian McLaughlin
The staff is incredibly attentive and great to interact with. The food is brought out with care, and at the right pace, and the wine, and mixed drinks are phenomenal. I would suggest a reservation, but you might be able to get in without a reservation though. During the nicer months you can even get a table outside.
Lauren Billington
Brunch was fantastic!! Coffee was great! Highly recommended!!
Update - had our first dinner at Talula's, food, cocktails, staff and servers were all fantastic. Still very highly recommended!
TheFranCann
LOVE this restaurant! The menu is interesting and diverse. The French pressed coffee was OUTSTANDING!
Tara Sherman
Fabulous!! This was possibly the best meal we had in this years trip. The food was amazing, the service impeccable. Best brunch I have ever had. Indulge in the donuts! We also enjoyed the grits. The outdoor seating was beautiful.
Denise Ireland
My husband and I celebrated our 45th wedding at Talula's Garden. The food was amazing and delicious and very unique. The service was perfect. We received many complimentary foods and bubbly as well. We would highly recommend this restaurant! Can't wait for next time....
Kevin Mathes
One of the best brunch options in Philadelphia. Fabulous chicken and waffles.
Alex F
Can't say enough good things about this place. Pricey, but well worth the price. Everything was superb. The cheese course was delicious. Their cocktails are great. The scallops were excellent and so was the salmon. The deserts are so good. Anything you order here is excellent. The service is great to. Employees are very professional. Great all around.
Michael Jacobs
Expect to pay a little more for this dining experience. We ordered two cheese trays as an appetizer for the six of us. Our server was able to help us with the selections and explained each of the cheeses on each tray. Entres were done to perfection. Great tasting Malbec and mixed drinks. Overall wonderful experience.
Charles Liggan
Went here for our anniversary. Amazing food and outstanding staff.
joe landicho
Great atmosphere, service and food. Everything looked good so we just got the tasting menu. I don't like oysters but their fried oysters were great. The gnocchi was soft and pillowy. Not the usual gut bombs you get at restaurants although the sauce was rich yet delicious. We were very full. The panna cotta was small (hey it's a tasting menu) but creamy and pretty awesome. Drinks were also both boozy but balanced and good. Will definitely return.
Mauli Shah
Beautiful outdoor and indoor seating area. Perfect place for a date. Rustic and natural look of the outdoor seating gives you a very cozy feeling. Plus the food is amazing. The drinks and the BREAKFAST BURGER are a MUST try. The dessert menu is limited but after the brunch here you can stroll across the street for Sweet Charlie's.
Nicole Hackett
Phenomenal experience! The food, decor and service were top notch. Felt like we were transported to another dimension - foodie heaven! Sat at the outdoor bar (no reservations required there). Can't wait to return!
Mabel Zhang
Very enjoyable selections of cheese platters that come with fruit and nuts and spread pairings. Well-made entrees. Came here twice, they don't rush their food like some other restaurants in center city. Desserts with character. Beautiful garden in the summer time with heat lamps. It can get cold indoors with the AC. Bring layers so you aren't freezing the whole time in spring/summer.
Nandi Yeakle
We came here a few years ago for my husband's birthday. We returned for our wedding anniversary for a sunday brunch during COVID. This is one of the few philly restaurants that had a lot of patio and outdoor seating pre pandemic, so they just turned it into little pods of outdoor seating. I prefer the patio seating to the street side pods. The food is always good. The only downside is the elements....the walkway to the main building to the pods isnt covered. But the staff did their best. The food was piping hot and tasty. Well priced for the portions. Indoor dining was crowded for my liking.... I'll stick to outdoor seating.
Nina Ancharski
The service was some of the best I have had in the country. Tiffany was amazing!
The food was delicious and filling but light and not overwhelming. Their desert menu was unique and satisfying.
Hands down an incredible dining experience.
Monica O'Kane
Food and service outstanding. We had the cheese board, chicken and short ribs and couldn't decide what was our favorite! The garden patio is beautiful if you can snag a table in there.
Renee Ethier
What a lovely restaurant! Great atmosphere and decor. Brunch was fantastic. We tried the new crab Benedict, the mushroom omelette, and grits. It was all really great and the portions were quite large.
Michael N
I think the rest of the reviews speak for themselves, but I'll reiterate the important points.
Beautiful room, excellent service, and exceptional food. The cheese plate options were some of my favorite. Location wise, parking can be a little iffy so give yourself plenty of time, especially on the weekend.
This isn't a cheap meal, so make a reservation in advance and plan to spoil yourself.
Reall Cameron
Brunch was lovely. Everything was good the staff is amazing such a lovely way to celebrate my birthday. Can't wait to go back!
Melokai M
This review is for their take out restaurant up the street. I love this place... great salads, yummy GF desserts and many coffee and tea selections... and Washington Square across the street to relax and enjoy.
You can be served inside and you can buy salads and other products from their mini- marketplace counter. There is something for everyone. Though not the cheapest option, the food never disappoints!!
Chigozie Mbamalu
Came for the weekend and saw they had good reviews so I decided to try it for a birthday dinner. It was a great pick; Great vibes, decorum, service, extensive knowledge by our server Ariel! I got the braised lamb meal.
Victoria
We had an excellent meal with impeccable service on a Monday night date. This is a great spot for foodie friends who like to share-- there are a variety of high-quality options, and the cheese plate selections were amazing. This is also the first restaurant where partner and I genuinely enjoyed beets!
Fenna de Blaauw
One of Philly’s best restaurants. Been here several times for special occasions. Come for the food, stay for the food (watermelon ceviche.. I’m drooling!), the cocktails, ambiance and incredible service! Could not recommend this place enough. Not cheap though.
Pat P
Always excellent food and service alike
Cathy Ren
Very relaxing atmosphere. Great service, always attended. I had lamb braised pappardelle and the pasta is great but the flavor is toooo salty.
Diane Ricard
Perfect dining experience. Made reservations online and they immediately called to confirm. They made note of our showtime at the nearby Walnut Street Theater and made sure we had plenty of time to get to the show. The atmosphere was comfortable, trendy, and overall perfect. The food was amazing from start to finish. Highly recommend
Dana Foust
Locally sourced, quirky menu changing seasonally with an extensive wine list. Highly recommend the fried oysters!! Entrees are definitely $$$$ so we opted for smaller plates, wine and dessert to taste more items. Can’t wait to try the other restaurant, Talula’s Table, in Kennett next.
Oscar Burns
A most excellent location in the heart of Washington Square, you will not be disappointed, neither with cuisine nor the service. Definitely worth the wait for them to open back up. I was hoping to take my wife for the anniversary
but that's not going to happen. Looking forward to having dinner in the courtyard when they open back up.
Dene Cassells
Delicious brunch! We walked in on a Sunday around 1pm with a group of 5. It was a beautiful day so I wasn't sure if we could even get a table because we wanted to sit outside. We had an hour wait, which was fine because there's a ton of stuff to walk around and see while waiting.
La Buz
Pleasant atmosphere, the food and service is always good. Hard to have a conversation during busy times, as it gets loud. I recommend asking to be seated anywhere but the table near the entrance or you will have to put up with constant temperature swings from people coming and going, plus the distraction of other guests talking while waiting for their table.
Lizzy Schlichting
An amazing and beautiful al fresco dining experience right off Rittenhouse square. With no reservation, for a Sunday brunch on a holiday weekend, we were seated outdoors within 15 minutes.
I highly recommend their honey gin drink & their take on an aperol spritz. The coffee was super expensive and not that great. But the food left NOTHING to be desired. I had the chicken and waffles and every bite was amazing, I also sampled the crab cake benedict and it was heavy on crab and the hollandaise was to die for. The crispy hash brown potatoes were also amazing. Our table shared French toast sticks with strawberry jam, which was a delightful end to the meal. Service was fast, friendly, and easy to talk to. I highly recommend for an upscale meal!
John Mattero
Great food, great setvice, great atmosphere. All around A+. I would definitely recommend this spot for a bite to eat. Try one of the cheese plates, you will not be dissapointed. My only (small) complaint is the size of the bar area, which can make it a little difficult to get a spot if it's crowded, but the bartenders do a great job trying to make sure everyone is taken care of. We'll definitely be back!
Hayley Schneider
Fabulous spot whatever the occasion. The food and ambiance are truly spectacular. When it’s warm, there is nothing more pleasant than sitting outside on the beautifully landscaped/ decorated patio. Inside is cozy for winter months. Now onto the food: The menu is seasonal, so it varies based on when you are there however not a single dish has ever missed a beat. The biscuits they serve instead of bread melt in your mouth, as does whatever amuse bouche they bring next. Entrees are beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Sides are also a must—always some variation of whatever seasonal vegetable they have along with a fun twist making them sinfully delicious.
Stephen Vanacore
This is easily the best restaurant in the Philadelphia area. The wait staff are incredibly knowledgeable of the wines and the food. The menu is constantly changing to what's in season to provide the best ingredients. The chef's truly know what they're doing. Though it is pricey. For a night out, anniversary or just a good meal. I can not recommend them highly enough.
Daniel
The service was great. The chef sent a complementary appetizer and dessert to congratulate our engagement earlier that day. The food was very good and worth it. The ambience in the main hall was loud and made it hard to have an intimate conversation.
Joy Best
I went here for my mother's birthday and she LOVED IT!!! The chef gave her a birthday dish and a special desert! The owner of the restaurant even walked over to the table and greeted us for her birthday!! My family and I had such an amazing experiance, the food was refined, fresh and DELICIOUS! We will be back again! 😋🍪🍷🌰🥖🧀🌹🥀🍃💐🥕🎂🥂🍽🎈🎉 …
Estefania Suarez
This place is magical. A cozy restaurant that takes serious their food and their service, it’s quite the experience
D C
Always a great place with impeccible service in a lovely and varied setting. Vegan cous cous was terrific as was the scallops and shrimp. The beets side was fantastic
Matt Shelosky
This was just an all-around excellent experience. We were super hungry and happened upon Talula's without knowing how great it is. The decor, staff and food were all first-rate.
The wine selection, the cheeses and the entrees were all thoughtfully paired and tasty. This place is known for its cheese, and their wait staff is trained on the cheese/wine pairing process and our server made great recommendations. If you're not sure, definitely ask.
We'll definitely be coming back to Talula's the next time we're in Philly!
Wystan Simons
This is a lovely restaurant, they really take care of you. Excellent service, responsive to special diets, and delicious organically grown food beautifully prepared. Wonderful complex flavors, not over salted as are so many restaurants. I love the peaceful ambiance. Valet parking available out front. You will come away nurtured and refreshed. Note: Noise level is fairly high (although staff was responsive and turned down music), and they do keep it quite dim.
Judi Harris
Quirky menu with intriguing entrees. I ordered the duck and loved the flavors and side dishes. Talula’s is a beautiful restaurant with great service. $$$$ Entrees start around $30.
I took my parents here to eat and they found the flavors overwhelmed the fish entrees. It is also a very loud restaurant for people with disabilities.
Molly
Had a really great experience here - service was outstanding. We sat outside, and tried out the bar while waiting to be seated. Everyone we met was kind, upscale and polite but also relaxed. The food was amazing.
Maya Jordan (Mayanicol)
I went for a surprise bay dinner and the waitress Amelia was amazing. This farm to table restaurant is a must if you are in the Philly or surrounding area. The serviice, food, ambience is impeccable. I tried 8 different dishes and the flavor profile was a amazing and well worth the time and money.
Andrea Anampa Guzmán
Fancy restaurant for romantic dates. Food is worthy the price.
Rachel Linstead Goldsmith
The food is out of this world. The mismatched tableware and place settings and gorgeous garden displays are the kind of decor that somehow make me feel like I am both at home and in an eclectic art gallery. I even loved the co-ed closed stall bathrooms. Great location, great service, definitely recommend.
Ruchelle Mattison
My son took me here to dinner . The staff is professional while friendly. The restaurant is spotless, the food is impeccable service is amazing. I would recommend as a favorite wonder of Philadelphia. FYI I don’t write reviews.
Caroline Kelleher
For food alone, this place would get five stars. Lots of different flavours and dishes for whatever you are feeling like, and portion sizes are almost too big. However, as a restaurant that is touted as being cozy and quiet, it was loud and cramped. Music people, and background noise was loud, and our table was akwardly shoved into a corner blocking a main walkway. Was practically elbow to elbow to the table next to us, and we could hear every word of their conversation.
Meghan G.
This place is super cute but the food was not as good as anticipated. Came for brunch though so maybe I should try dinner menu at some other point... I was super excited to try but unfortunately not very impressed.
Ally Perry
This place is really beautiful and accommodating. They were able to create an amazing vegan meal for me without any hassle. We all LOVED our food. I would 100% recommend.
Jewells JJ Adams
The pancakes are phenomenal.
Atmosphere is lovely.
Valet parking is pricey. Finding street parking can be challenging but totally worth it!!!
This place is perfect for a date, a girl's day out or a family outing to remember. Brunch is YUMMO!!
Alessandro Sorrentino
All excellent, service, food, drinks and environment.
R S
Food was decent. Prices so very high. The pandemic seems to have hit them. Hoping they can get back to what they used to be.
Matthew Tornaritis
Delicious food and wonderful menu. one of the best meals I've had!
Katharine Johnson
Delicious food. Beautifully plated. Great service. Good cocktails.
Taylor Clark
Absolutely wonderful! The cheese plates are so special and delicious! This is a can't miss place in Philadelphia!
Victoria Galperin
Great outside seating and the restaurant was able to fit us in half an hour after we called (two adults and two kids). The food was delicious and served quickly.
Holly Walton
Hostess was rude. Perfect ambiance and food. Been here a couple of times but this time was NYE. Arrived 1 1/2 hours early with half the original party size and still sat us at our reso on the dot. Was freezing in the bar area and never took our jackets off. When we were seated they sat us in the bar area and we asked to wait for seating in the main area due to being cold and not wanting to eat with our jackets on. Ten minutes later the brunette female hostess sat us right by the door. Great waitress however!
Dan Muldoon
Great atmosphere! Pete handled our order and was attentive, engaging, and made some excellent suggestions. Enjoyed the cocktails, and the food was delicious. Busy place, so have a reservation. Enjoy.
Wendy Baker
Nalini took wonderful care of us. My friend didn’t care for the appetizer she ordered, and it was whisked away and quickly replaced with her second choice, which she devoured. The sea bass was phenomenal. Perfectly prepared. French press coffee after dinner was a nice touch, especially when paired with the carrot cake. Sat inside because it was threatening to storm, but will go again and sit in the garden looking out on Washington Square. Just around the corner from the Walnut Street Theatre if you’re headed there for a
Alesia
Wow. I admire how well Talula's manages to marry flavors together. They take the mundane and make it exceptional. They've made dining there a luxurious experience while still keeping it comfortable and welcoming. I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a cozy experience with some pretty phenomenal food.
