Reviews of Spice C

I was in town for PAX Unplugged and decided to try out this restaurant as I’m a big noodle soup fan as well as a fan of anything spicy. I surprisingly didn’t have to wait much as they happened to have one small table available all the way in the back, although the food took a little bit of time. It was worth the wait, though. They advertise that their noodles are hand drawn or hand shaved (whichever method you choose) to order, and the noodles definitely seemed hand drawn (pulled). I was actually a little hesitant to choose that method since their description even said it was like spaghetti, but there was definitely a nice uneven texture that made it at least seem like it was hand done and not mass manufactured. I ordered the “dragon and phoenix” (chicken and shrimp) in as spicy a soup as they had. Nice kick to it for sure. A little sparse on the shrimp (tons of big chunks of white meat that was not dry at all but only two small shrimp). Nonetheless delicious. For my appetizer I had the fried pork dumplings which were a nice size and juicy, with just the right amount of dipping sauce so that it wasn’t overpowering. Also quite good. Overall the meal was great, and I even considered returning to try something else tonight. I’d definitely recommend if you like noodle soup and spicy food. :)
Edit: I forgot the word "not" before "dry at all": the white meat chicken was NOT dry at all.

First time having shaved noodles and it was really good. Definitely the place to go to get some Chinese noodles. They pull their own noodles and they are delicious. Especially in cold weather, the spicy soup will warm you up. Don't worry, there is non spicy option as well as you can get stir fry vice getting the soup.
Worth checking out if you are looking for something new and different. Definitely get the shaved noodles. Worth it.

Bomb food. Had seen this place on the internet and wanted to try it. I got fried dumplings and the beef and chicken hand drawn noodles stir fry. The dumplings were great, they were huge! The noodles were also really good, I guess you can tell they’re homemade. The service was fast and friendly. No complaints and will probably change my rating to 5 after trying something else.

Spice C offers great traditional Chinese dishes and cuisine. We stopped by because this place was legendary in the area for it's hand pulled noodles and it did not disappoint. Definitely a must try.
We tried a few things here:
Spicy Pork Dan Dan Noodles: These were fantastic, there's something about fresh pulled noodles that greatly adds to the overall flavor.
Seseme Chicken: this isn't the traditional overly sweet seseme Chicken you get at most places. It was done perfectly and had a great flavor to it.
Fried Pork Dumplings: Served with a spicy garlic sauce, these are a must try.
Crab Rangoon:. The quality here trumps just crab Rangoon I've had. Absolutely delicious.

This place is the best hand drawn noodles in Philly Chinatown so far! The noodle was cooked soft enough with the chewy texture, but the broth was a bit salty. Beef was also soft & tender that it melt right away in the mouth! I was also surprised by their "Spicy Szechuan Wings"! It's crispy and has that mild numbing spicy taste to boost up the flavor! Highly recommend to try if you're a chicken wing lovers.
Downside of this place is: They only accept CASH (or Venmo)! Beware of to wait for a table because it's always BUSY and might get over crowded/noisy dining area. But, it's worth it wait & try it!

Love Spice C. We were in Chinatown for the lantern festival (definitely check that out!) and wanted to grab a quick bite before. Love the hand drawn noodle dishes. So many great flavors and options to choose from and they make it spicy which I love! All of the food is great and very reasonably priced. We had leftovers which I enjoyed the following day. Spice C is cash only. Go in for a meal, you won’t be disappointed. I will be back very soon!!

I've been wanting to come here for weeks now. Kept forgetting they're closed Tuesdays. Finally made it and happy did. Service was good and had to be the fastest I've seen food come out. No complaints at all. Everything I tasted was good. Im a fan of the hand drawn noodles. Could eat those daily.

A comfortable, warm Lanzhou style noodle restaurant with quick service and delicious food. Pictured is The Dragon and Phoenix hand-pulled noodle soup with mild spice. If you can handle a bit of spice, you can’t go wrong with the mild option in the soup. Also, add some of the pickled veggies available at the table.
If you’re looking for something to share, I recommend the Spicy Szechuan Wing.
I’ve been eating here for 10 years and I hope I can continue for many years to come!
Crystal Paek
Delicious!! We tried the hand-drawn and knife-cut noodles made to order with flavorful stir fry and Szechuan soup dishes. Everything tasted so fresh and yummy! The restaurant itself was cozy and clean, and the service was quick. We didn’t have to wait long for anything. Also, the menu was very informative with great pictures and descriptions to aid in selecting dishes. I will definitely be going back!
Bea Syquia
Ordered the noodle with pork soy sauce Szechuan with shaved noodles rather than the hand-pulled. This dish was absolutely amazing! The pork was flavorful, a little sweet, the noodles were thickly shaved and chewy, the perfect consistency. All for $8, it was a steal! Highly recommend trying this dish with the shaved noodle! I will definitely be ordering this again.
Geo Min
Incredible noodles and appetizers, they hand make their noodles into a really cool doughy noodle, and it is amazing!!
Great soups and wings, so so filling and perfect for a cold Philly day, fast service too
sat s
Attentive service, good food, hand drawn noodle dishes are tasty. Not sure how authentic dishes are, but tasted delicious to a non-chinese palate.
Ronald Kevin Garcia Carias
Food was delicious, I ordered beef base veggie soup with fried egg, for appetizers ordered fried chicken sticks.
I also ordered mix veggie fry noodle.
Service was nice, and super host.
Just one note, one of the plates was shipped off , it can be can unpleasant for someone else. In overall will definitely recommend to my friends.
Thanks.
Bella S
I ate here twice. I really enjoyed the food. The downsides were that they charge you a high convenience fee for using card which is kind of stupid. That’s basically asking, “don’t come here we don’t take cards”. I don’t mind if the fee was small but it’s actually quite a lot. The service was rude too. It’s mandatory to tip even if you do not like the service. They don’t check on you if you need napkins or anything at all. The lady waitress chases people after tips blatantly and shamelessly.
Fay Johnston
Best savory beef, brisket, and tendon noodle soup!!
We also enjoyed their dumplings appetizer, their pickled cabbage, and their three treasures shaved noodle stir fry. MMM 😋
To dine in, you may climb a small flight of stairs (access from 10th St.) or use a ramp (access from Cherry St.)
Thank you!
J B
Yes Yes Yes!! That's all you need to know. It's really good especially when you get one of the soup type dished with the hand drawn noodles. Making my mouth water just typing about it.
Oh, and you can get hot tea at no additional charge.
jon young
Really a 4.5 star. Pot stickers. Noodle soups. It's a consistent spot. No real variation in the quality. Clarification: 3 stars for any Chinatown restaurant is normal.
Theresa Lives
Never disappointed with this place. Love the homemade noodles & the spices. If you’re looking for a great spot in Chinatown definitely stop by here.
Christopher Leone
My wife and I are in town for PAX, we’ve never been to Philly before and walked over here for dinner. The sauce on the schezuan shrimp appetizer was amazing, lots of schezuan pepper flavor and nice and crispy. I had a stir fry with shaved noodles and she had a soup with pulled noodles and we loved both!
K B
Super happy they open for seating this month. Always enjoy my spicy house beef, beef tendons thin homemade noodles here. Only cash here and they have ATM outside the place for you. Staffs are friendly and helpful.
Travel, Eat & Cook by Liem
Excellent pulled hand noodles. I love Treasure fried Noodles with chicken, shrimp and pork. Yesterday I had with the beef not as good as treasure because they use the same beef for soup.
For first time, tried Szechuan chicken wings medium spicy was excellent, numbing my tongue and lips, recommend both.
Daniel Black
This establishment, Spice C at 131 North Tenth Street in Philadelphia, has its advantages and disadvantages based on my personal experience after visiting it.
Advantages:
- Well decorated
- Conveniently located in China Town.
- More like home kitchen.
Disadvantages:
- Staff are too chill not attentive enough.
- Food quality are acceptable.
Would I recommend this place?
So so.
Would I come back in the near future?
Maybe.
Kanishka Wijesekara (Kanishka)
It's a Sichuan noodle place and not pricy like Four rivers or Emei. BYOB but doesn't have a soft drinks menu. Had the sliced beef cold appetizer. It was okay. We ordered the mince pork noodle and the beef stir fry. The stir fry is American Chinese so wasnt that good. Overall it was 3/5. Will not return. Cash only
Sara! of Fort McCookie
I have a lot of trouble eating soup due to nerve damage from dental surgery and the side effects from quarterly injections. I've been living with it for years now and this is the ***only*** place where I will happily risk embarrassing myself eating soup in public.
Shelby H
Amazing fresh & flavorful food! I highly recommend the szechuan spicy noodle with beef the flavor blew me away! Chicken on a stick appetizers were just delicious also! I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and the friendly staff! You must give it a try
Andrew Mackie
Amazing restaurant! Every dish was made after we ordered it and was soooo good. Would definitely recommend eating here.
Steve Wang
The noodles and broth here are excellent, but service is rushed (like any other Chinatown restaurant). The hand drawn noodles have a bite to them, and the shaved noodles are just as good. Definitely try the pickled mustard on the side or mix them into the noodles! They are cash only, though there is an atm on site.
Wenbo Zhang
Space is limited and the interior design is a little old. Chicken wing tastes good! Noodle is large enough for women.
Fifty2weekhi
The name Spice C rang music to my ear and I was quickly drawn to this noodle joint out of so many restaurants in Philly Chinatown. Of course, high Yelp rating was a major factor as well. The exterior was quite nicely done. This red brick corner building was hard to miss, and the white-on-black signage with red accent looked current and hip. There's also a ramp to the side entrance for wheelchairs and strollers. Commendable, especially in Chinatown.
Seating was quite limited inside the elongated dining area. Tables were small, mostly for seating up to 4 people, but you barely got any elbow space. In general, the restaurant felt quite cramped. Ambiance was so so, nothing worth mentioning.
There were 2 wait staff. Service was mixed. At times they were extremely rude; then all of sudden they'd be ultra-courteous. Very surreal to say the least.
The menu was small so it took very little time to make up our mind. For every noodle dish you can choose between hand-pull or shaved noodle. For us, it was a no-brainer - hand-pulled noodle all the way! We ordered 3 dishes:
House Special (Sliced Beef, Tendon & Brisket) $9.25. The soup was rather bland. I would have been better served had I chose the Szechuan Spicy version for $1.50 more.
House Special Stir Fry Noodle $9.25. The serving size was noticeably small. The taste was un-impressionable. Nothing stood out.
3 Treasure Stir Fry Noodle $9.25. Ditto the above. Not much different except for the proteins.
And, it was annoying that they accept cash only. After walking out of the restaurant, I had buyer's remorse as soon as I saw the next restaurant a few doors down: ShangHai 1 -- my next target.

The food here is amazing. I lived in Asia for 10 years and traveled around it a bit, and I have to say the Spicy Szechuan Shrimp here is one of the best Asian dishes that I have eaten in the USA. The portion is enough to fill two people. I ate half of the entree and 3/4 of the rice before getting full. I ordered a noodle soup for take out. I haven’t seen it yet as I am still sitting at the table, but I have incredibly high hopes for it.
Cee Kaye
Ate here a few times last year during the Philadelphia Flower Show and fell in love with their cuisine. Couldn’t wait to come back again this year. The food is so so tasty and bold flavors and fresh ingredients.
The waitress was not so pleasant but I think it was more of a language barrier issue which is fine. The food more than makes up for it.
Their Spicy Szechuan Chicken Wings are insanely delicious and my go-to entree is the 3 Treasures hand drawn noodle stir fry. Perfectly cooked chicken, shrimp and pork mixed with vegetables and hand drawn noodles.
This area has so many restaurants, it’s hard to settle on one. But this one has me hooked for sure. Will return again soon!
Theresa Tran
Quick staff, authentic food and relaxed environment. Portions are pretty big for me personally but you get your money's worth. Also nice addition the clear window pane to the kitchen you can see noodle being hand spun in the back. It's a cash only place so note that before going.
Louis Heck
Good food in China Town. Noodles were freshly made.
Robert Sullivan
I ordered steamed pork dumplings and chicken with shrimp noodles bowl. They tried to play me and asked if I needed a fork...little did they know I am the Chopstick Don 🤣🤣🤣....great food though, would recommend …
Joshua Smith
Great food and very nice and welcoming staff at the restaurant. Food comes out very fast and consistently good!
Caroline Khoury
Spice C was delicious. My boyfriend and I were trying to find a hole in the wall place in Chinatown and stumbled upon this amazing noodle place, apparently known for their beef ramen. The prices were outstanding for what we got, and the portions were so large!! For appetizers we ordered the pork potstickers and fish balls. The fish balls were so tasty, and the potstickers were HUGE but so good. The dipping sauce is what made it. For entrees, my boyfriend ordered the House Special, which was beef tendon and brisket in a spicy Schezuan broth with noodles. I ordered the Pork Soy Schezuan noodle special. Both were SO amazing. I HIGHLY recommend the pork schezuan noodle special - the pork was sweet, spicy, and delicious. The broth of my boyfriend's dish was so flavorful as well. Flavors blew us away!
Lawrence Taylor
The spicy food is always fresh and yummy, employees hands over good customer service. I like how clean it is and mood.
Armani Shaw
Food quantity and taste good. service was very good very nice staff.
would recommend this Chinese restaurant.
Trúc Vũ Thanh
House Special Noodles is good with extra sezchuan spicy.
Nancy Ramirez
Great place for noodles! Great price, fast and kind service. It is a small restaurant so large groups might be difficult to accommodate. Vegetarian and vegan options available.
Mink Lin
Spice C is a gem in Philly. Fresh hand cut or hand pulled noodles in their house special broth. I always add Szechuan spice and order a side of cucumbers and their amazing crab rangoons. This place is a must for anyone visiting Philly! The meaty broth is incredible
John Yam
This is cash only.
It is wheel chair accessible which you can access from ramp on side (edit I mistakenly said it was not wheel chair accessible).
I ordered the house special beef hand noodles. It comes with beef, tendons, and baby bachoy. The soup was so aroumatic and tasty. This is one of the best soups I've had. The noodles was good but wish I had a little more noodles. Maybe I'll check if I can order a larger size next time.
With tax this was$9.99 which is a steal. I'm a big fan and will definitely come back and try the other dishes.
Matthew Kim
It was a friendly atmosphere and the food was absolutely terrific.
The menus helped us pick out what we had wanted for our dietary needs and provided us with on-time service.
We were in a middle of a rush and were on a constrained time schedule and that didn't diminish our 5 star experience.
Nicole Leonick
Delicious beef noodles!! You can definitely tell they are freshly hand-pulled!
K Johnson
Delicious, great prices and service. Cash only but Venmo accepted. Hand drawn noodles were amazing. Szechuan wonton soup was spicy & great. Crab and cheese rangoons also wonderful, will be back
Marina :]
- out of all the places in chinatown, I will always come running back to spice c. Great prices and portions of food, great service as well! crab rangoons are also huge and tasty :)
Imran Malik
Been going here for years it’s a pretty good noodle place in China town
vincentia rosdiana
CAUTION: SPICY SZECHUAN WINGS ARE VERY ADDICTIVE
Raheel
I was craving some soup and Spice C hit the spot. I got the beef brisket soup with the spicy sczechwan broth. The spice level is perfect (definitely on the spicier side) and the soup is flavorful and wonderful, especially if you're feeling a little sick. The soup also has hand pulled noodles that they make every day and they're perfectly cooked without being too soft. I'd definitely recommend checking out this place, it's well worth it
Dan Parker
This is at the top of my list for Chinese food. 10/10. This place never misses and everything is always fresh. Highly reccomend!
Ai Ling Luckiewicz
The foods were delicious. I don't like the waitress that serve us. She is very rude and she gave us bad attitude for no reason. I guess she have bad Day and just not in the good mood.
Nala Pike
Our team had dinner at Spice C last night - all new dishes for me and delicious! Great evening for the Team!!
Jason C
Excellent location if you want to get some hand drawn noodles in broth. I went with the house special $10, and really enjoyed it.
Varun Jorapur
Excellent restaurant and great service! Would definitely recommend the dragon and phoenix with their beef sauce and hot oil. Absolutely amazing!
Brooke Suffridge
Best noodles I've ever had. Large portions for an excellent price!
Becky Blumenthal
Everything we ordered was delicious, fresh from the kitchen with top quality ingredients. We loved the fried potstickers. The chicken wings with garlic sauce were dripping in sauce and perfectly crunchy. We even got an order to go! I can’t say enough about the noodles - both hand drawn and shaved. Both were light & delicious.
Aaron Brown
The noodles are amazing. The chicken was a little rubbery, id recommend the pork. And definitely get the szechuan broth.
Maria Duignan
Our #1 place for Pho in or around Philadelphia! Hand drawn or shaved .... simply delicious! Hardy, tasty, fresh and plenty. The staff is always attentive and friendly.
Qingze Lv
Great service! Such a relief that venmo is accepted here since I don't carry cash. The chicken shrimp spring roll is really good. Comparatively, the beef handrawn noodles are not as good as Nan Zhou Hand Drawn Noodle House nearby.
Rajia Mim
Their hand pulled noodles in szechuan spicy broth is an amazing combo for winter days!
Marco Rivas
I had the pad Thai with chicken that was okay as there wasn't much of that pad Thai flavor you'd get at a Thai restaurant. The calamari were big and delicious.
Sockhop Skunk
Always great food, and wonderful service. I have been bringing friends to your restaurant for a few years now, and with a large convention approaching in the next few days, i have been advertising your restaurant in the convention group chat!! Yall are great, keep it up!!
Hyun Min Kim
Wasn't bad
However the fried rice I had was pretty salty and buttery, and tasted very chemical after a bit. The beef was so damn good though they give you just the right amount and it tastes very good.
Kayla Barton
Excellent & tasty food. We'll come back to sample other dishes when around in the area
Joe Yatsky
Excellent handmade noodle options. The spicy broth is in fact quite spicy, so be forewarned!! Absolutely delicious!! It is cash only though, so be prepared
Shuang Zheng
The beef in the soup noodles was so tender it basically melt in my mouth…. Dumplings tasted like the ones made by my grandma at home. I wish the noodles had been more chewy, that’s how authentic lanzhou noodle should have tasted like, but overall, very good
Renée Hébert
Best pulled noodle soup I’ve ever had. Got the spicy Szechuan broth. Dumplings were amazing as well.
Thomas Kalinoski
Great place place for light fare lunch! Unique “hand drawn noodle dishes” with great steaming curry and thick healthy broth soups that are more like Thai stews as a perfect satisfying comfort food! Not a big fan of tofu, but was open to trying the “fried fish tofu” appetizer. It was scrumptious withsix large pieces for $4.65! Was enough for a light lunch or snack with tea!
Samantha Slaven
Was in the mood for hand drawn noodles but our regular place is cash only. Our old hangout might be being replaced cause Spice C provided the perfect lunch. Highly recommended the pot stickers and the noodle bowl with seafood and the szechuan base. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.
Peter Maffei
my go to lunch spot. I love the pork soy sauce over rice Sichuan style for 10 dollars
M. Hamilton
Excellent meal, food was fresh noodles, , excellent, excellent service, worth the money...will be back

This is my absolute favorite ramen restaurant in Philly. Amazing food! The whole experience from start to finish was great, the staff here is also friendly and kind. Plus it’s all at an affordable price. I totally recommend this place.
Daniel Bauer

isabella bruno
great food!! great service!! allows dine in. so glad I found this place
Tyler Kradzinski
My favorite soups. Excellent taste. You can watch them make the noodles in the back. Only takes about 5 minutes for the soup to come out. Wife and I moved to the NE, the 30 min trip will always be worth it!
Sam Hagues
Beef brisket noodle soup is so great!!! Aromas in the restaurant are incredible
Edward
I couldnt taste the difference btw this one and the one on race street. One thing for sure is the meat and veggies is more here. Like it
Elizabeth Le
Delicious food and great service even when it was super busy.
Shirley Brown
The ramen was delicious and came out hot. I will definitely be coming back!
Rosemary Phillips
The noodles is amazing. Waitstaff are so helpful. The restaurant is immaculate.

Dung H
Been here so many times and Every time I came in the services and food are the best in Chinatown!
Heather J. Chin
Medium spicy chicken hand pulled noodle soup was flavorful, spicy, smoky, affordable, quick, good tea, too.
lenny mo
This might be one of the best hand pull noodle in chinatown. Local is kind of small but for the price its a lot of noodle and try the dumplings its gigantic. Try the spicy soup one too house special and thanks me later. They have a atm in front.
Wanda Lawrence
My favorite is the noodle soup. It is so good. Food here is great and good service!
Steven Vulinovich
I loved the fantastic mood and flavorful dishes. Keep up the good work.
Holly Hargrove
We had a great dining experience and service was very good
Eliseo Clapperton
Their spicy food was some of the best I have had.
Ping Vuong
Try the House Special! Absolutely delicious. Also, the service is very good, nice staff and reasonable price. Highly recommended.
Nevaeh Shirley
Very nice Chinese restaurant, excellent & tasty spicy food
Ariana Bruce
It was a delightful evening and an experience beyond just good dining.
Mizuki akimichi
It’s hard to find a place in Chinatown that you don’t NEED a vaccine to eat . This place was one of few options so I decided to try it. The food was amazing! The staff was very good 👍🏻 I recommend this place looking for some food unvaccinated in Chinatown if you are visiting. …
Jack Walker
Unbelievable, great service for great food. You can tell they put a lot of care into their food and it shows. Hand pulled noodles and great vegetable dishes. A+
Dhwani Mithun
We made it there at sharp 9:30 and they had just closed then. The server was really kind and despite already closing their doors for the day, she seated us inside. It almost felt like they didn't want to turn anyone hungry away. It's so rare these days. Their service was exemplary and the food is extraordinary. I'm a vegetarian but my husband eats chicken and there is a lot of variety for everyone. Highly recommend this place.
Michael Lomtevas
Very fast, professional service. Great quantity of soup for the price.
Got the veggie and tofu soup with medium spiciness and a marinated egg. The flavors worked VERY well together - would say medium was as spicy as I had expected, but I was worried hot would be too hot.
Would absolutely return!
Li Sara
Food is really good! 10/10 would recommend.
Christine Lewis
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and dinner at Spice C!THX
Nep
This is our new go to place, we get hand drawn noodle and the szechuan spicy soup. they offer three levels of spicy, and a vegetarian broth option. i really like their marinated eggs
Brandon L
With Nan Zhao on the decline, the Spice C empire will be built. Their szechuan shaved noodle bowl is my favorite menu item in Philly under 10 dollars.
Give it a go and I'm confident you'll agree.
Conner Solomon
The plate of food was tremendously large and super yummy! Thanks
Marlon Munoz
Service is excellent, food is delicious and good drinks. Amazing Christmas decoration.
Terrance Ham
atmosphere was happy and the menu was good enough.
Miriam Richards
Must try hand pull noodle. A lot of choices: slice beef, beef mix, etc. Reasonable prices. Good portion size.
Shivani Patel
The flavors in the noodles are just rich and savory. I’m obsessed. I usually don’t leave Google reviews, but this was too good not to leave a review.
David M
great soups and apps, i never get other entrees so YMMV. the broth hits the spot on a chilly day. its not at all bland, i wish we can get back to having table condiments asap so i can adjust my own spice level but this is place is consistently good.
K B
One of my favorite place for their house special soup and I get it spicy. Waitresses are helpful and friendly. This place take cash only, they have ATM outside the restaurant for you to access cash. I also order takeout for later and for my mom.
Xiaoming Baldwin
I've gone here numerous times and their food is always good. It's a small place that tends to fill up quick so be sure to account for it on a busy night. My favorite here is the house special noodles. The noodles are fresh and chewy and the soup can be adjusted in spice. It has a nice vibe as well and it's one of my favorite places in chinatown
Mysha Rahman
It's Indian not Chinese, the Chicken Tandoori was good but the fried rice had a lot of onions.
Shirley Yee
House beef noodle soup and intestines appetizer were both very good!
Lindsay Rock - Swartz
Always love to stop by when we are in the area - it’s our favorite! Consistent and friendly service!
Nathan Leung
The food was both filling and delicious - and for a very reasonable price as well!
Food: (5/5). The noodles were very soft and chewy - which goes to show that it's actually made in-house. The broth was very flavourful, and they included a reasonable about of toppings.
Environment: (3/5). Not overly tacky but it definitely has the airs of a typical Chinatown restaurant.
Service: (3/5). Waiters are capable of speaking both English and Chinese (preferably Mandarin). There's nothing spectacular about their service.
I would recommend this place to others.
Kyle K. Sweeney
Tonight was our third time at Spice C. The prior two times we had not strayed from the classic hand drawn Moodle soups as they were 5/5. Tonight we got the mapo tofu and It blew us away. Incredidible dish.
Stephanie Powell
This is my favorite noodle place. Everyonr I've taken there says they are the best they've ever had. Can't wait to go back to Philly for these!
Todd Lefever
Came here one night after turning down our favorite noodle place because it was packed. We were not disappointed at all! The amount served is a bit less than what we're used to, however, that's probably a good thing! Service was great, they're very attentive and the food fantastic. We'll surely be back.
Emily Pfeifer
the Sichuan broth was so rich and flavorful! and the hand pulled noodles so fresh and delicious. great big portion for a great price!
Jason Campbell
Ordered takeout chicken w/mixed veggies soup and was satisfied. Good flavor and fresh ingredients! Authentic veggies created some alternative flavor. Broth was simple. I added a fried egg.
I loved the shaved noodles. I saw the chef take a roll of dough out of the fridge, roll it, and shave it for my dish. It doesn't get much fresher than that. You can taste the freshness in every bite into the noodles.
Chicken was so tender!
Wide variety of menu items; I look forward to coming back. Not my favorite find in Chinatown PHL, but not the worst. Friendly staff and clean interior.
Cash only! ATM out front. Mine was only $11.
St Nu (bebop1065)
Great food. We loved it all.
Charleigh Thompson
Amazing Chinese restaurant! Maybe the best in Philadelphia.
Mengqiu Zheng
Great food, but daoxiao noodle is too short
Paul Dempsey
This is a nice, small place. The stir fried hand-drawn noodles were very good, and the steamed pork dumplings were just amazing. Fast service and fairly inexpensive, it is a good place to stop for a quick dinner in Chinatown.
David Nickerson
Everything on the menu is fresh and very well made, but the hand drawn noodles are the highlight. Sometimes you can watch them stretch the noodles by hand through the window into the kitchen. Service is super fast, food is very tasty, and it is inexpensive. Be warned that they don't take credit cards (but there is an ATM at the door).
David Strong
First experience having shaved noodles. Yum! Seafood stir fry. My wife had the shrimp stir fry. We were both impressed. Bland spring rolls, however. Good service. Recommended without hesitation.
J koerner
Always a fantastic venture .
Food is prepped to perfection, arrives at your table quickly , and the service is second to none.
Please find the time to enjoy there hand pulled noodles and fantastic tasting broths.
MARK MOSER
Excellent. Prompt service. Friendly staff. Have eaten here 5 or 6 times now. Today I finally ordered something other than the duck noodle soup. I got the Szechuan soy spicy pork. Absolutely blown away. I can’t wait To go back. I need to remember to get some takeout dishes so I can try some additional offerings. There are many choices in Chinatown, I am glad to have found this place.
bob shields moose
Delicious, cheap, friendly and fast. We got two hand drawn noodle dishes with Szechuan seasoning, it’s definitely worth the add-on. The broth was rich and complex, plus they used sansho peppers making the water delicious.
Frankie Tran
ooh ouch ah ah spicy ooh ouch hot hot very hot spicy ee ouch hot like egg on frying pan ooh ouch hot like girls in black tights
Kiara Tinnin
Love it here! The service is always great and the food is even better!
Zach Heng
When in Philly, you absolutely need to spend some time in Chinatown. Why? For places like this. Upon walking in, it's as if you're transported to a noodle shop in some small city in Asia. The chatter of hungry patrons, the clanking of chopsticks against dishware, the billowing aromas all make you just want to eat and stay awhile. By the time I stopped in here, I already did a few laps around Chinatown's popular eateries. The menu has a number of great rice and hot pot dishes... but why would you get any of that when they only advertise their hand-drawn noodles?
Obviously, there was only one thing I knew I wanted and only one thing I came here to eat: Beef Noodle Soup. I went with the "Double Love" on this visit which comes with beef brisket and sliced beef. This hearty bowl of beef and noodles comes in at just $9.25. The broth was rich and had an incredible depth of flavor. The beef was tender and the noodles were simply perfect. The portion could easily serve two people, though one hungry person could surely take it down.
Overall, the noodle soup by itself is worth the trip to Philly's Chinatown and the service pretty standard for Asian restaurants (quick, but not super friendly). So if you come here for one thing, let it be the house-made hand-drawn noodles or the hand-shaved noodles. You won't regret it.
Von Rex
Food here is ALWAYS GOOD! Cooked perfectly!
Ti Li
Great broth, noodles have very nice texture and taste. Must add chili oil for better taste!
Michael Hall
The hand drawn noodles were amazing! The food came out quickly and was very good. Highly recommended!
Julia Daddy'sAngel
If you're in Philadelphia's Chinatown area and you like Thai food this is definitely the spot. Excellent food very reasonable prices.
Christina Jones
Great customer service food was delicious
Ron Scott
I enjoy eating at this place no matter what season it is. The noodle soups I have had are flavorful with very big portions in it, even the dishes and appetizers are enjoyable as well. You don't have to wait long at all for service, nor for the food, and the prices are perfect for your meal to get your full.
Ronald Corey
My family visiting Philly for the first time this weekend were recommended this restaurant. So glad we came here. Noodles are excellent and prices are good.
Rob Smith
This place is fantastic... delicious, cheap, friendly, filling. Both the shaved and hand drawn noodles are excellent. The pork dumplings are extra good with a filling strongly flavored with five spice and good, crispy chewy exteriors. If you order the Schezuan soup and ask for it hot spiced, it comes fully charged with tingling Schezuan peppercorns. The noodles with pork in soy sauce are the best Dan Dan I have ever had.
T CH
Really great Chinese food! Quick too!!
Pattie Rost
Our favorite Chinese restaurant in Philadelphia! We stop in at least once every time we are in town since we discovered Spice C in 2011. Food is always amazing. Bonus points for the hand drawn noodles! You can watch them being made in the back while you wait. (He makes it look so easy! Ha-ha!!😉) …
Izzy Moser
I’ve been going here for years the first time was after the Philadelphia car show which I attend every year and every year I go to Spice C afterwards. The pork soy sauce noodles are my favorite and the fried dumpling are better than any I’ve had
Michael Rogers
So so good! Everything is good here, from the service to the food.
tomato juice
This is the epitome of restaurants. The food tastes great, it comes to you quickly after you order, and the staff are on the ball. I never had to ask to refill my water, and they even provided an extra napkin when we were low. Legit, this is the epitome of restaurants. Just bring physical money.
Aihua Jiang
Yummy yummy! The noodle soup is really good 👍 and the noodles!
Charles Howard
Delicious. Fantastic noodles.
Yoon Hee Chang
My quintessential go to place when I need comfort food. Their beef noodle dish is large and the soup is very flavorful. I’ve tried several other Chinese noodle places around town, and this place has the best broth and the best hand drawn noodles.
Sue Young
Very good noodles! Strongly recommend!
Eli Barnett
Best noodle soup I've ever had. Not an exaggeration. Amazingly nuanced assortment of flavors in the broth, not skimpy on the toppings, everything fresh. Noodles are perfect texture. Eat here, now.
David Loewi
Terrific, tasty, inexpensive. What's not to like? Szechwan spicy soup with fresh, shaved noodles and roast pork, bright greens, wood ear fungus...just great. Hot, rich broth, the perfect thing at 35 degrees.
YY Ao
I LOVE its house special noodle, and its spicy noodle soup. Err, the first time I came to the place, I not only ate all the noodle, but also drank all the soup... It was tasty! Store manager Cecilia is nice. She talks to people and really cares about customer. She remembers customers habits. I told her only once that I don't like ice water, after that, everytime I come to the place, she will give me some tea instead. I would definitely recommend this place to you guys. Try it, and you'll like it.
Armando
I love the hand cut noodles here. Whenever I stop by Philadelphia I have to come here. The sichuan influenced spices of some of the soups are the best version of it I've had in the US. Highly recommended if you can't find a spot to plop down in Philly.
Alexander Wright
Ramen was excellent and had a nice flavorful broth.
Jon Murphy
Everything I've ever gotten from here has been delicious.

Well been a while due to Covid but finally got to go inside and eat food was awesome. The only bad expierence was the server she had terrible attitude, it was like we were making her work rude and even take out customer walked out saying sarcastically wow love her attitude. She should not be in this business if not like job.
Madeline Alvarez
Very attentive and pleasant staff and delicious food. Ramen is very delicious.
Tom Lin
Soup, noodles, beef, veggies, and pickled cabbage all damn delicious.
Elliott Fisher
Delicious, homemade and very authentic Chinese noodles. Reasonably priced as well. I've come here for years and I'll keep coming!
Nicholas Robert
Get the shave noodles with beef. The first one on the menu. Add sichuan broth and you're good to go. No other reason to come to this place. You'll be glad you did.
Liam Devlin
Had Soup there, very good broth. Extremely good chicken on a stick as well as dumplings. Highly recommend this place for extremely good authentic Chinese food.
John Greene
Was an ok location. Food was good and brought out quick. I would give 5 stars but our waitress disappeared on us and when she came back and we asked for water she refilled it with room temperature water instead of ice water. Simple mix up.... no biggie
Aasys Sresta
Haven't been here in a while. Delicious noodles, and the marinated egg was awesome too.
Jay Shifman
Really good. If you're looking for an authentic dining experience it's a must visit. Great tea and noodles!

Walking around and around Chinatown looking for something good, all the main places were packed! This wasn't what we wanted at first, but was it what we needed! Absolutely delicious! Had food in our belly's in less than 10 minutes after sitting down. New place to come when we are in the area. 10/10
Pauline Danley-Cox
Tasty hand shaved or freshly drawn Noodle dishes. The eggplant in garlic sauce was a tiny bit too sweet, the beef jungle noodles were great. The ho fun noodles were excellent! I will return.

Andrew
I have been coming here for years and they are easily one of the best hand drawn noodle shops in Chinatown. Their schezuan style pork soy noodles are my favorite thing in the world.
Lim supriatna
Speechless…..my first time try and I can’t say anything….wish you open in Maryland
Natasha Taylor
There's nothing not to like here. My go to is the Pork Noodle dish and the dried dumplings. They have something for everyone and the bubble teas are delicious. There's not a ton of seating so there can be a wait if its busy.

Jeff Beck

Jacob Hoffman

Best noodle joint in the city, hands down. Decent prices, too. The hand drawn noodles are amazing and the szechuan spicy broth is insane! Love this place
Mink Craves
Hand Pulled or Cut noodles! I have been to alot of places where you enter because of that marketing tactic of "hand made noodles" where the place just tanked. Spice C is amazing. The execute the broth amazingly and I love the pickled mustard greens. This noodle soup literally changed my life. Also, if your going into a noodle place, I don't order General Tso' s Chicken or anything not related to noodles. That s just my take on it. Anyways, back to the noodle. Our family orders two Spice C Specials Medium Spice, one with hand pulled and one hand cut, and then traded some of each other's noodles to have half and half. I think they should have an option for half and half and charge $1 to do both. The broth is so so yummy. It's like Pho married Tom Yum without the seafood and had an affair with Beef Stew and made this noodle. I topped mine with 2 big spoons of mustard greens but those who do not like pickles or Kimchi then do not go for it. This place is a must!!! Oh and bring cash.
Krista Gibson
I've ordered from here several times and it's always been *amazing*. Seriously, it's so good, the prices are great, and the portion sizes can make at least 2 meals
Shelly E
Was visiting from out of town and read about this restaurant online. I was wonderfully surprised, we had the Singapore noodle and the hand-drawn noodle soup. Great taste, and great noodles! Highly recommend
Ruizhe Jin
Good. A little bit American style Chinese food. But generally speaking, the taste is quite like what it is in China.
Matt Magill
My favorite noodle bowls in Philly.
Walking around in the cold, shivering... Having one of those spicy noodle bowls warms your whole inside without making you feel like you want to take a nap. Combine one of those with some rolled ice cream from around the corner, baby you're going to have a great day.
George
Incredible noodle and broth quality!
Yi Yang
Food's very good and filling. They are also following proper Covid-19 safety guidelines. Not wheelchair accessible.
Victoria Pua
Cash only. Noodles were fantastic and authentic! Prices are between $7-12. Space is tight. Good customer service.

If there is a better noodle place in Philly, I have not found it yet. This place is quite small, but if you have to wait it should not be for long because everyone is gobbling down their noodles fast because they are so good.
