I only came here because I heard it was the BEST!- I expected a long line but I called ahead and the friendliest man by the name of John told me he would be expecting me, and that it was a good time to come because a lot of people were watching the Phillies (Often times the line is right out the door) I just had to come before 4 PM, which I did. My heritage is partially Ukrainian And I have an exciting family party coming up on Saturday with all of my relative so I just felt, walking through those doors, that I was in good hands **positive vibes** and choosing the original Kielbasa and the smoked Kielbasa with garlic was a good decision (and he agreed)-plus all the delicious, sauerkraut to go along with it! Thank you John for making my first time here the best experience ever and I will be back again and tell everyone about your store!!

Excellent food, anything you try will be great. The kielbasa burgers were amazing, but order ahead they sell fast. They always make you feel welcome with warm customer service. The hand made bacon cheddar burgers were outstanding. Chunks of slab bacon and cheese, great tip on pan searing them. Simply phenomenal.

I don't eat sausage, but I go down there for my father in law. The family loves their Cajun sausage. We really liked the cheese steak pierogies. I like how the guy remembers me and I have only been there a handful of times. The only down side it's cash only business.I don't carry cash on me and they don't have prices listed on their website. So it's hard to know how much money to bring.

It is hard to describe how amazing Czerw’s is. Fantastic food and such a welcoming atmosphere. My first time there was such a pleasant experience. I’m looking forward to living so close to this shop, especially with bbq season approaching. When you go here, and eat what you brought home, it seems obvious why they have been around for almost 100 years without much of a change. When you cook their meats, they start sweating and turning a beautiful color, it doesn’t get any better. Smoked kielbasa, cajun kielbasa, jalapeño cheddar kielbasa, “old world” hot dogs, smoked chicken; all incredible. A big thank you to John, such a good dude! Can’t wait to try their house pickled items and pierogis.

Came late in the day for the first time - was in the neighborhood. Shoulda done a little homework on it to find out it was cash only. Not much left by the end of the day. I know from my childhood that the kielbasa is DELICIOUS so I'll have to plan a little better next time around.

So I went here for the first time ever last week, the day before Christmas Eve, and even though the line was super long (as is expected on the day before a holiday) I received some of the best customer service of my life at Czerw's! I had never been here before but will definitely be returning often after the super friendly and helpful service I received, nevermind the high quality of the meat I bought! I have eaten Polish Kielbasa my entire life on holidays, but this is by and far some of the most delicious I've ever had. I know this review just sounds like I'm praising this place, but I really have nothing bad to say about it after my recent experience. I HIGHLY recommend Czerw's!

Bring lots of cash you won't need it all but you want to buy the store out. The food here is so delicious and it is the best polish kabasi I've ever eaten. The staff is always friendly and willing to give you samples of whatever you would love to try.

This was my neighborhood...grew up on Aramingo Ave, educated at Nativity BVM, roamed the alleys and streets, ate Czerw's kielbasa, radio balls, and Stock's pound cake. We no longer live there but I can still get down Tilton Street and park on the sidewalk to get fresh sauerkraut and slim Jim kielbasa from Czerw's. Worth the trip to experience the smells, peak into the pierogi fridge, an get a sample of kielbasa to taste. Love this place and it's people🥰

Parking can be a challenge, but it's well worth possibly walking a few blocks to get some of their amazing pierogis and smoked meats. We don't get there as often as we'd like, but that also makes it that much more special. Another thing to keep in mind, they're cash only. Shown below: Traditional kielbasa, extra garlic kielbasa, cheese sausages, chicken sausages, and several varieties of delicious fresh made pierogis.

Not only is it all handed down old world tradition but the family recipes go back to the 1920's John, his family, and staff have offered the same tastes that my Mother is used to from her childhood!.... All their products, and locally made items are 100% EXCELLENT!.... As an American spin on an old world tradition I would HIGHLY recommended the kielbasa burgers as they are ALWAYS a party favorite!.... Hats off too The entire Czerw family and staff for providing the most tasteful items, and also keeping the tradition alive in modern days!.... They are more than welcoming when you walk in and will gladly give you a taste of any smoked or cooked items in the deli case, they will ALWAYS make you feel welcome in their store and give you a sense of being one of their own!.... I'm from Fort Worth but by way of Tasker & E. Moyamensing as a youngster. My brother still lives in Philly and he goes to this smokehouse once a month. Everything they smoke is awesome good! They use apple wood to smoke in the same brick smoke pit built by two brothers 100 years ago. Even if you don't care for sausage you should go in just to inhale that incredible smoke smell. Old, working smoke pits are revered shrines to BBQ down in Texas. This place richly deserves revered shrine status as well. It is deli service only...NOT a sit down restaurant. Take it all home and have a blissful feast!

My first time going here and it was amazing. The staff were super friendly (which I was not expecting because I had heard otherwise) and when I didn’t know what “Farmer’s Cheese” pierogies were - the guy explained it to me and offered other options instead. If you’re looking for something new they have cheesesteak pierogies that are amazing fried up with some onions. The people here are super friendly and provide great service. Very friendly staff make the experience even better.. I also tried the slab bacon and smoked Kilbasi both were delicious, no complaints just total satisfaction.

They have really good perogies,but will sell out very fast. I recommend Coming before noon or even earlier if you're looking for some of their more popular things like the cheese steak perogies. No dining just take out and cook at home

Everyone knows that Czerw’s has great Kielbasa! Today I found out that whoever it was waiting on me today is also a really nice person and he made my day! I was in my scrubs on my way home from work and was surprised the line wasn’t around the corner so I stopped. I ordered my kielbasa, got my kraut, and paid. He then said “Thank you for all you do, I hope you don’t have to work on Easter and that this one is better than last year!” I didn’t become a nurse to be thanked but this has been a really rough year! Not knowing if I would get it, not seeing my girls and my grands, and YES it’s been a year of this! That kind gesture, a simple “Thank You” really made my day. (Yes I did get in my car and cry!) So! To the gentleman behind the counter....it’s already better because of your kindness and thank you too!

First visit, drove from New Jersey and it was well worth the trip! Everything the reviews say is true, the food is delicious (you can smell the kielbasa cooking as you walk up!) and they treated me like a king. Definitely will make the trip again!

After taking our older daughter to Shriners Hospital for her post-surgery check up, we stopped by because of curiosity. It was worth trip through traffic . Wonderful, tasty kielbasa, sausage and pierogis. I got the fresh kielbasa, smoked kielbasa, cajun kielbasa and some smoked, spicy meat sticks. The seasoning was spot on for each product and not overpowering. If there was ever a thing as smooth yet hearty kielbasa, this is it. They were filling and flavorful . Cooked them on the grill and iron pan on oven. We also got potato-onion pierogis and the peperoni-cheddar pierogis. What a treat. Cooked them in an iron pan with plenty of butter until slightly crispy on the outside, warm and gushy on the inside. Next time I'll try the cheese steak pierogis. So glad I found this place. When we come in from Central NJ in 3 months for a check up at Shriners, I'm bringing a cooler to stock up at Czerw's.

Port Richmond's best kept secret! Amazing customer service and the food is out of this world! I went in about 15 minutes before closing and was greeted and helped promptly. The owner asked about my plans for the weekend and when I told him it was my grandmother's birthday, and the kielbasa was my gift as she's very sick and she wanted authentic Polish food. He made my experience even more special by giving me a bread and told me to tell her "happy birthday!" Delicious in all aspects, friendly and went above and beyond! I will no doubt be back! Three generations of my family have bought Kielbasa and Pierogi from Czerw's. They are the best source of Polish food in the city. Wherever you are in the tri state area, their food is worth the drive. Czerw's prepares their kielbasa with savory spices, the meat is top quality. Their smoked kielbasa in particular is fantastic, makes for a great addition to any meal and is a rock star on its own. Get there early, especially around the holidays. Lines can be long then, but it's worth the wait.

My wife and I went into this store looking for an excellent sausage. What we received was the best sausage we've ever tasted and a blessing that brought me to tears. After telling the owner that my church and I feed the homeless in our community the owner took our order. When we proceeded to pay he refused our money and thanked us for our service. He just said pay it forward. I am not use to reviving this type of treatment anywhere but coming from an unfamiliar place made it all the more special....thank you for good service and great food...you have made a lifelong friend😁

Went here on a recommendation from a friend. Definitely worth the trip! Kielbasa was all amazing and pierogies are awesome! Just a few blocks off I95 so it's fairly easy it get to. Parking is very limited as the storefront is pretty much just down and alley.

Went in the afternoon, about 13:45. The line was only back to the side door, unlike the morning when it can be 200' to the corner. This is THE place to go for kielbasy regardless of the length of the line.

Today I grabbed a pound each of smoked and fresh kielbasa, jalapeño popper kielbasa and cheesteak pierogi! The quality and taste of Czerw's creations keep me coming back. You won't find better kielbasa and sausages. You also will not find better or friendlier people behind the counter. Each brief interaction feels like chatting with an old friend and has me walking out with a smile - and great food!

CASH ONLY! It does not make sense for a business to be cash only these days, especially when they are doing a lot of business. The wait time was about 2 hours. Not sure why there was only one person working the counter and ringing people up. However, he was very friendly and gave us great service. The smoked sausage is good! If they took credit card and had quicker service, they would be five stars.

If you want to eat "Real" Polish kielbasa, this is the one . It's the best tasting kielbasa you can get. My grandmother was from Poland and a fantastic Polish cook. She had tried all the other places that make kielbasa but Czerw's is the only one that reminded her of the kielbasa she grew up on in Poland . You just have to try it. You will not be disappointed.

I have not been up to Czewr's in a long long time. Went today to get some kielbasa and perogies and the guy in front of me ordered some pork roll so I thought that sounds good and I got a pound myself and let me say I have forgotten how good it is. Just made myself a pork roll egg and cheese sandwich and man it took me back to my youth it was fantastic. I would recommend anybody that wants good fresh meat to visit here I know one thing for sure never again will I buy store brand pork roll sausage or kielbasa.

Grew up in Port Richmond. Travel far to get their kielbasa. It's the tastiest most tender around. They have fresh smoked, and their Cajun is great. Always helpful, never had anything not great from here. Pierogi too!

Their store made pierogies also are excellent. Can pick up a heavenly babka while there. Plenty of other meats, sauerkraut, horseradish, and such available. And always friendly service.

I went to get some pierogies since I had a few people tell me they were the best pierogies they ever had. These people were not kidding I bought 2 packs..1 for my family & 1 for my mom and both packs are gone within 2 days! Very delicious, I also bought the cheesesteak ones and it was packed with meat. The front counter person is also very very nice. I did not realize it was a Cash only place of course I only had my debit card he was willing to let me come back and pay for my order since my mom lived in the area. I went to the wawa around the corner to take out some money, I came back and he was so appreciative he gave me polish kielbasa for free. I tipped him and will definitely coming back. Not only is the food really good but the people are also very nice. It’s a breath of fresh air especially since a lot of people are not willing to be nice anymore. Great place!

I have tried other kabasi at other peoples homes some of it was good but I feel Crew's is the best. The Kielbsi boys are 3rd generation and I hope there are more generations to come.

I travel all over the tri state area for my job. Wherever I am, if I see a butcher shop I am compelled to stop. On Thursday I was overjoyed to have a delivery in Trenton, for my route took me by Czerw' s. Their kielbasa is not only the best that I have ever had, but the owner is a genuine kind hearted and congenial man. I will never be able to praise this establishment enough. Delicious meats! Best pierogies and kilbasa I've found in the northeast. They have traditional food like my mom's Polish family would make plus they even have unique perogies like "Philly Cheese Steak" and "Pepperoni and Cheese" perogies. The experience of Czerw's is one of community. You might, or might not be waiting in a line that goes down the street and around the corner but you're chatting and it's fun. A half a block away, you smell garlic. As you reach the back door, smoky fragrance. Once inside, there are many kinds of pierogies. The options for kielbasa, kabanosa and more are many. They have nut bread, poppy seed bread, chruschiki and more. It's a trip to the Old World in the New World and brings me back to my childhood. But, for me, there is the connection to my grandfather. Hidden gem for polish meats & food! Their pirogies are amazing (already pre-cooked) you just fry them up in some butter and they are ready to eat in minutes! Czerw's is a joke (I still can't pronounce the name.) Czerw's food is so incredibly superior tasting to that of the other Polish places that they make me laugh. They also sell delicious non-Polish items like breakfast links and cheese dogs. And don't leave here without trying their bacon and cheddar pierogis. YUMMY!!!!! But it's cash only so it's a bit inconvenient. It's a taxing and tedious 27-mile drive from the burbs. We counted 84 red lights and stop signs just in the city! But Czerw's is worth the trouble and time!!!!!!!

The Best Kielbasa, saurkrawet, pirogies period anywhere. I drive there from Staten Island, N.Y. about an hour to an hour and a half. Well worth the trip and never disapoints they quality and love is in the food. Hard to find people that care about there heritage and the old way of doing things. I am sure these days they could have a machine do some of the work but they have pride in there products. Also I forgot to mention there driftwood smoked bacon and pickles also excellent.

Showed up this afternoon around 4pm, John already had a couple in front of us - but was quick to welcome us and offer us a sample of (I can't remember the exact name) :)......When it was our turn, my friend and I informed him it was our first and was very gracious in showing us the ropes - got the kielbasa with garlic, potato and bacon pierogies and loved it!!! Will try some of their hot dogs tomorrow. After we left, my friend stood outside and were talking about how friendly our host was. John opened a side door to the cooking/preparation area and showed us the massive smokers and talked about some history and preparation. It was, pretty cool :) What an awesome find - well worth searching out!!!

My husband and I saw this place on the food channel. We decided to go during our atlantic city trip for our anniversary. We took the drive into port richmond today, and let me tell you it was completely worth it!!! I have been eating polish food for 25 years usually travelling into brooklyn to get some authentic Polish food. This is hands down the best kielbasa I have ever eaten. The man who served us was very professional extremely personable and had a 20 minute conversation with us about the food and the Philly area since it was our first tim here. He wished us a happy anniversary and even gave us some pierogies! What a class act and a world class taste. This will not be the last time we trek 3 hours to this place!

Great provides with potato, cheese, bacon, and chives. My wife of Polish heritage thought they were heretical. Myself, of Italian heritage did care for the traditional perogies which were part of Christmas eve dinner. These, from Czerws were great and wife agreed after reluctantly trying. It's always crowded this time of year (even at 7:00 a.m.!) but the wait is worth it. Polish soul food! Best damn smoked kielbasa around (the other local places ain't slouches either ... but this is my personal assessment), crazy great spicy kabanosa (yeah, I'm the guy who got 10 pounds of it - woo hoo! sorry you had to wait for the next batch), pierogies and kielbasa roll - (like pork roll only better!). Everyone is friendly, makes sure that you have everything you came for and, of course, when the line is out the door, there's always someone delivering "just out of the smoker" kielbasa to the folks in line. My family has been getting their Kielbasa from the Czerws' for over 40 years. They make MAGIC with all their food stuffs. Have tried many other brands but am always disappointed. Easter is our high HOLYDAY and must have their meats to do my Eastern European cooking. I don't live around the corner so visiting 'the boys' is a welcomed trip into the city of Philadelphia. This is the place for Kielbasy, Kobanosa and Pierogis. All meats made on premisis and smoked over applewood. Pierogis also made on site and yes they make cheesesteak pierogis!!! If you go close to Easter or Christmas, be prepared to wait sometimes 90 minutes just to get in. Best to call your order in a day or two ahead of time during busy times of year.
