Reviews of Pure Thai Cookhouse
Vivien Tran
This was such a nice find! I luckily found a reservation here and was seated quickly. It's a really small and cozy space and served incredible food. The papaya salad was actually spicy, so make sure you know your limits if you want to choose the spiciest level. The fried chicken and the pad thai was also really good, and was up there on my list of good Thai spots. Even the Thai milk tea was good! Overall I think it was a solid spot for Thai food .

This is my second time here, and it was just as good as the first. This is definitely my favorite Thai place. The food is outstanding, and the prices are so reasonable. Definitely get the dry noodles with pork and crab. So flavorful. Usually when you order spicy, it is far from it, so we ordered extra spicy in the green curry. It wasn’t necessary. Get medium spicy if you like it hot. There are four different condiments on the table to increase the heat. Excellent service. Love this place.

This restaurant is cute little place with amazing authentic Thai food. The appetizer the chicken satay buns is delicious with peanut sauce and cucumber relish on the side. I would go again to have it and a recommended dish to try. Their chicken fried rice was very flavorful and tasty. Ahh I forgot to write about their egg omelette with shallots, it was fluffy and little oily but very tasty .
A must try restaurant if you are around this area.

This is definitely the place to go for authentic Thai food and where you would very likely encounter flavor profiles that are entirely new to you. We started with the seasonal special crispy soft crab salad - the crabs were very fresh and delicious. We didn’t hesitate to order two noodle entrées as the noodles are absolutely the house specialty. You just have to try the crab & pork dry noodles - I would come back again just for the hand-made egg noodles themselves. Meanwhile, the seafood noodles were very unique - never had red fermented rice based soup like this - plus a superb assortment of seafood.

When I think of Thai restaurants like this one was, I think about good quantity of food to fulfill one's stomach and heart.!
This place was fairly occupied for dinner on a Friday and we got a table which was rather small for 5 people. There are few vegetarian dishes here as most of the items have fish sauce (which is okay for Thai places I would guess)
We tried veg spring rolls and dumplings. Both were tasty! For mains I tried the shrimp stir fry with jasmine rice. The taste was excellent but overall portions were less. Service is okay, no complaints.

Cozy, delicious Thai spot offering a well curated menu of classics and daily specials. The service was friendly and fast and the ambiance was casual but comfortable. The flavors are well balanced/spiced and not overly sugary. Both the seafood and soup special and the classic dishes we ordered were fantastic, plus the amazing pumpkin custard and coconut sticky rice dessert! Overall great value for price.

The wings here are absolutely ridiculous. I could probably eat two orders of these and be satisfied. They are well seasoned, fried to perfection, and have a really nice accompanying sauce. We also had several noodle dishes which didn't disappoint. Everything had great flavor and the service was friendly. I have a low spice tolerance and the 3 out of 5 spice was way too spicy for me. I'd lean toward a 2 or 1 next time if I want some heat.

Ambience : A small restaurant near Hell's kitchen with limited seating options. The wait time was not bad on a busy weekend. The interiors look warm and cozy.
Service : was great given the restaurant was packed with folks waiting as well.
Drinks : They have a choice of beer, wine and sake. We ordered a bottle of plum sake and it was really good.
Food : For appetizers just order the Curry Chicken Puffs - they taste amazing! We ordered the Jungle Fried Rice, which was good and the pork noodles that was a disappointment.
Pricing : Moderate. The bottle of Plum Sake makes your check fat :)
Will I return? : Yes, if I am in the area.

When traveling to cities I try my best to sit at the bar or near the kitchen to watch the masters at work preparing their art. I sat in front of the small noodle prep kitchen that you first see when coming in. I would highly recommend just watching, observing, and appreciating those who make our food.
The 2 master chefs who worked in the noddle cooking area played well off each other like Yin and Yang, one prepping and cutting while the other cooks and plates the noddles. The fluidity of the noodles being dunked into the hot water and then garnished with spices was quite artistic and engineered to perfection without wasting a single ounce of energy.
On this cold, rainy day I started off with an iced Thai Iced Tea which was delightful. And then I had an appetizer order of the Thai Curry dumplings which were delightful. To warm up my cold bones I had the Braised Duck Hand Made Noodles with 5 spice soy broth. The in house chili sauce on the side was so flavorful and brought each dish up a notch with a spicy flavor explosion. I also got 2 orders of their famous Crab and Pork Hand Made Egg Noodle dish to go. One for myself and one for my cousin that I brought back to DC with extra chili oil and it was still amazing 5 hours later!
All in all, this is probably the top 2 best Thai places I’ve been too, the other being Lotus of Siam (James Beard Award) in Las Vegas. Run, don’t walk here!!

The RATCHABURI CRAB & PORK DRY NOODLES is one of, if not the, best meals I've ever eaten. The handmade noodles are as perfect as a noodle could be, with a toothsome snap. The title says "dry" but it is server with a sweet/savory broth-like "sauce". The balance of textures and flavors is truly remarkable. Everything belongs, nothing is overshadowed, nothing is overdone, and it somehow demonstrates simplicity with depth. The root vegetable puffs and steamed vegetable dumpling our textures/flavors I've never had. So unique. The CHICKEN SATAY BUNS were perfect. Smokey grilled chicken that melted to the bite and was beautifully seasoned and paired with condiments. Go!

Between a 4 and a 5 so rounding up. Good to great taste, good portions, average NYC prices.
Tried the fried tofu, pad Thai, and I think it was the crab and roast pork egg noodles. Texture for both the pad Thai and egg noodles (which I believe they make themselves?) was great, and flavours were strong enough as well.
I generally like tofu and liked the tofu dish they had, though was ordinary.
Would come again.

Absolutely delicious! We got the chicken pad thai, the vegetable wok medley, veggie spring rolls, and I got a lychee sangria. Everything was so good! And the service was wonderful. They were slammed and only had one table outside, but they sat us immediately and still took very good care of us. Highly recommend!
Lauren
Delicious food and great vibe! I recommend getting a reservation since it seems to always be busy and the restaurant is smaller in size. The portions are a good size, and the food is so flavourful!
Since the restaurant is so popular, they will ask you to leave once you are done. So, be mindful of that if you want to stay to chat with friends!

Was looking for a Thai option near times square and found this small but great authentic Thai place.
Food was spectacular. Ordered the rachuburi pork and crab noodles, pad kee Mao, thier special Thai curry dumpling, pappaya salad and the sticky rice with mango.
Great customer service, our sever Gigi was constantly paying attention to the table and provided great suggestions.
Portion size and price was reasonable for such a awesome meal.

My gosh was this place an amazing find. It is small, intimate, and serves amazing food. And the severs are so attentive.
I had the mixed snacks (spring rolls, puffs, and dumplings) and the pad kee Mao (non-meat option)

This place is always busy. Recommend to make reservation. Came here on a Saturday at 4:30pm. The restaurant was already packed with people waiting. My fiancé and I were lucky enough to get two seats at the kitchen bar table. They’re busy for a reason, because their food was VERY tasty! The warm red wine drink was done well too. Even my fiancé hates fish sauce, he liked all the dishes we had. We’ve been to many Thai restaurants in the neighborhood, this place is the best.

During a visit to NYC, we had dinner at Pure Thai Cookhouse. I made a reservation earlier in the week and it was a good move as we watched a few parties be told there was a 40 min to hour wait on that Saturday evening.
For the table, we split two orders of Thai Fried Chicken Wings. These were a big hit. These were fried to perfection, super crispy and flavorful, and served with a delicious chili sauce. For the main course, I had the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) with shrimp. I asked for it to be the spiciest (level 3) and they did not hold back. The others at the table all had Pad See Ew with either beef or shrimp. They enjoyed their dishes as well.
Service was very friendly and timely. Will return when back in the area!

10/10 experience at Pure Thai Cookhouse! I'm so happy we decided to come here for dinner. We were curious to see if the restaurant would live up to its name, and we definitely weren't disappointed.
We ordered a papaya salad, pad thai with shrimp, and pad kee mao with chicken for three, and the portions were enough for all of us. Each dish was so flavorful and we couldn't stop admiring all the flavors and textures. On top of everything, the servers were so kind and friendly, which made our experience all the more worth it. If we had more time in New York, we would have come back here for sure.

I'm a Taurus, I enjoy food More than anything in the world. When I first went to Pure I had no idea what to expect. The minute I got in, magic happened. The place is tiny and perfect. The food is supreme. Pad Thai made my night and those dumplings omg. From that time till today, is my must go to restaurant every time I visit NY.
Holly Gee
Very nice and helpful staff. The people are very welcoming.
We ordered mixed appetizers to share and two entrees. All were very tasty and in accordance with the description in the menu.
+ : the handmade noodle station

One of the best Thai food restaurants I’ve ever been to. The buns and noodles were so amazing. The service was great!
Would recommend 100%
Nutjaree C
Solid place, fit for everyone and enjoyable. Service was amazing and very kind! My friends and I had a great time here and would recommend.
Note: If you’re Thai like me, you’ll still probably want to ask them to turn up spiciness a few notches - but this comes down to personal preference!
Highlights:
⭐️House special Yum Khao Tod salad
⭐️Sukhothai Tom Yum Noodles with pork crackling
⭐️Custard dessert with sticky rice
Crab fried rice (it’s not proper Thai style fried rice without the chilies n’ fish sauce garlic concoction called Nam Pla Prik and a fresh squeeze of lime!), Beef phad phed stir fry and chicken wings were good overall.
Very few cocktails so we opted for Japanese sake, but turned out well nonetheless

It's a small cozy place. We loved the food. We went for pad thai noodles and veg steamed dumplings. I suggest going for spice level 1 if your heat/spice tolerance is low. The staff is friendly.
Josh Levey
Delicious authentic Thai cuisine in a cute cozy space. Friendly staff and efficient service. Ordered dumpling appetizer, and several vegetarian dishes; all was very tasty

Incredible, some of the best Thai I’ve ever had.
Super packed little place , made a res for 5 and it was all ready. Had to walk thru a labyrinth of rooms to get to our table which felt very intimate for such a busy small spot. Waiters were great too.
This shrimp special was outstanding. Green curry. Pad Thai (kids always order) … we did it family style and got a bunch of apps.
Flavors were so amazing. Each dish was awesome.

Pure Thai is the best Thai restaurant in nyc. I know…it’s a bold statement.
It may not be the prettiest or the best on customer service but when it comes to the food, just wow. I probably been to about 20 Thai restaurants in Manhattan and over 100 across the globe and this place must be my top 5.
I had quite high expectations coming in and when your expectations are high, it tend to lead to disappointment, but it wasn’t the case here. When I took my first bite of the papaya salad, my first thought was…yes, yes, this is how it’s meant to taste. This is the perfect balance of flavors.
And then heading to the noodle soup, on first sip. I just pictured myself on a small little sail boat eating these noodles back in Thailand. It was just perfect.
I had to force myself to eat slowly so that I can savor the experience. I can probably go on and on, but let me conclude with this:
If you’re Thai, you’ll love it here. If you’re not Thai, you’ll love it here. Everyone will love it here. This spot is freaking amazing and I’ll be back to try other dishes.

This is the second time I've visited Pure Thai Cookhouse- the last time was 3 years ago and I remembered being blown away. This time did not disappoint! Absolutely delicious. There aren't enough words to describe how amazing the food is here. On top of that the vibe of the restaurant and the staff are also wonderful. Highly recommend.
Gretchen Potter
So much flavorful food!! Everything was delicious! Service is excellent. We can’t recommend this place enough!! The Thai pumpkin flan was fabulous!!

Very nice small place with good foods. Staff are super friends, recommend the duck noodle and the fried rice. Will come back for sure

This place was absolutely amazing. The ambience, the staff and the food. We got the mixed appetizers and they were all amazing. Our favorite was the steamed veggie dumpling. Never had anything like that before. And for our entree, we got pad kee moa with chicken. It was delish. Will definitely come back to eat here when visiting. The Thai tea was very good as well. Not to sweet like some other Thai places.

Pure Thai Cookhouse is undoubtedly and deservingly one of the best Thai restaurants in NYC. The menu is diverse, it has something for every palate. The food is very well presented and tastes really good. It’s perhaps the most authentic Thai food I’ve had in NYC. The service is always very efficient and friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant!!
Angel La Rosa
Can't go wrong in this place. Go get some delicious Thai food and cold Thai beer in this tiny gem. It isn't really expensive (although you know NYC has been battered by inflation). I've been to this place many times through the years and although the prices go up every time I go, the quality is always top tier.
Damien Knox
Pure Thai is one of my favorite go-to restaurants when I am in the Time Square area. Friendly staff with amazing cuisine, I have never been disappointed. They can get extremely busy but well worth the wait for some amazing Thai food with a great decor to match.
Magdalena Chmielewska
Food is very tasty and unspoiled by local interpretation. What puts me personally off (as usual) is the sense of urgency that destroys the vibe. Overall: worth to come and eat, but not really a spot to seat and enjoy time with friends or loved ones.
Jason Guo
One of the best thai restaurants in Hell’s Kitchen. I really love the decor inside where it makes you feel like you’re taken to Thailand. They’re usually very busy so I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. I have also ordered takeout for the chicken pad Thai and they do an excellent job preparing it quickly and having it ready for you to pick up when you arrive.
I would not try to come here with large groups since the inside is a bit small but definitely great for a date or group of 4!
Anastasia Chang
The shrimp pad thai was delicious (but on the sweeter side), thai basil pork was also very good! Portions are decent as well, I had 6 big shrimps in my pad thai! Seating can be somewhat tight though, which can be expected from NYC
K. Sher
I like their vibe and most importantly, something that seem to be very unique to them - Krabi Seafood Noodles (love the fresh ingredients and the pungent and spicy taste of the soup). Their prices had definitely gone up quite a bit over the past 2 years… but it’s comfort food once in awhile.
Nianhong Long
Service and food were both 11/10!! Super nice staff, food was great and authentic! Love the duck noodle soup and crab meat fried rice as main dishes, and the grilled beef salad is a must! Recommend their Hojicha, great pairing for any dishes in summer time.
Garima Gautam
🍽️ fried rice: the portion size was good but it lacked the bold flavors I would expect from a Thai spot
🍽️ vegetarian apps- curry puff, dumplings, spring rolls : the dumplings were great but rest can be skipped
Limited seating, friendly staff but overall not vegetarian friendly
Jodie and Jen Poynton
The food here is always mouth watering and never disappoints. Best Thai food I have ever had. And that peanut sauce is a cut above.

If you like spicy, come here. The medium spice was perfect for me. Loved the chicken satay buns and the pumpkin pudding with coconut rice was just delicious.
Gurleen Kaur
Fantastic Thai restaurant! The atmosphere is cute and they serve you really quickly. I took the waiter’s recommendation for the pork and crab noodles and they were absolutely delicious! Slightly sweet and complement by the slightly bitter greens.
Di Wang
This place was absolutely amazing! My friends and I all loved everything we ordered. Hands down the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to. The staff was also friendly and kind, and the food price was reasonable for what you get.
Romeo
Really good Thai restaurant. Delicious food and don't forget to order mango sticky rice for dessert. Service is friendly and restaurant ambience is great.
Jonathan Che
Great food, but a little pricey for what you get in terms of ambiance and portions. The place can get crowded, but service is quick. I got the pork and crab egg noodles (tangy, chewy, delicious) and the Thai iced tea
T'Neil Gooden
This is my second time at this restaurant and I am extremely pleased once again! The Thai Iced Tea is the best one I have had EVER! The pork in the ramen is juicy, tender and delicious! (It does have peanuts for those who are allergic) I will always recommend this restaurant to every single person I come in contact with. The servers are very helpful and the food comes to you extremely quickly (less than 8 mins). Always a pleasure coming to this restaurant!
Laura González
Delicious root puffs and vegetable dumplings. Very nice RATCHABURI CRAB & PORK DRY NOODLES although the pad Thai looked even better! The pumpkin custard as a dessert is a must!
Lovejit Dhillon
One of the best Thai restaurants in New York, very little restaurant but always full ,make sure you have reservations on weekends.I ordered pad Thai which was awesome , my friends order Thai fried rice which they liked !!
Overall a good place which you ll enjoy and have a good time.
Natalie Kaufman
Authentic Thai made with love.
This tiny, charming restaurant is a trip to Thailand. Warm welcomes and delicious food every time! Highly recommend.
Pavinee Gaffney
Still my most favourite Thai restaurant to pop in for a quick lunch or group dinner. Love the noodle bowls the best!
Annabelle Tang
Pretty authentic Thai cuisine! The beef pad see ew is good and friend ordered green curry is also good

No words. Every dish a 10/10 standout. Interiors are intimate and lovely. Such a fantastic Thai experience. 😘♥️🇹🇭
Maliwan Kaewcharoen
Spent our Friday afternoon here at the bar in front of the restaurant, i had a Payao Beef Noodle soup and Ratchaburi Crab&Pork Dry noodle. It was our second time here. It was wonderful and authentic just like in Thailand. So we think we should leave them a review , the service was amazing and the food is just undeniable. Hope everyone get to try from reading our review.
Julian Lam
Authentic Thai flavours, super spicy papaya salad, juicy chicken wings, very flavourful duck broth. Well done!
Zoe Wang
I was quite disappointed by Pure Thai Cookhouse after reading so many good reviews. We got Pad Kee Mao and Pad See Ew. I found the Pad Kee Mao extremely mediocre in depth of flavor. The noodles were also too soggy. The Pad See Ew was had better texture but the flavor was too sweet. The foods were palatable but not exceptional in any way.
The portion size and the service was good.
Jay Lim
4.5 from me
small but lively space. we got seated immediately and service was fast.
we got the handmade egg noodles with pork and crab, as well as the special entree kung pad prik.
The egg noodles were a DREAM - so silky and beautifully seasoned with a tang of sweetness with the savory. The kung pad prik was nicely spiced and the garlic sauce was wonderfully smoky, but I have to say that the egg noodles carried hard. Would recommend.
Andrea Saavedra
Great appetizers! The chicken satay buns were amazing and the steamed vegetable dumplings were very good. We had the pad kee moa tofu and wasn’t as impressed. Noodles were very soft and the tofu was boiled or steamed not stir fried.
Politimi Kelekis
The food was delicious and fresh, the service exceptional. Our waiter was super helpful. I had the green curry. My family had other dishes and everyone loved their food and dessert.
Rai Mukherjee
I was so impressed by this restaurant! I highly recommend getting the chicken satay buns and the pad Thai. But even more than the food I really enjoyed the service. They were attentive and kind. Perfect for a pre-broadway dinner.
Kamal Mistry
Fantastic find. Food was absolutely amazing. Service was fantastic. We were warned about the spice levels by our server but we managed OK :)
Margaret Mical
This place was fantastic! The special tea drink was refreshing and something I haven't had before! The papaya salad was to die for!! The beef see ew was delicious and the service was fantastic!! My favorite place in NYC so far!
Hoang Chau
Dine in before it's close In 1 hour. Got seated right a way. It was around 8pm during the weekday. Order Papaya Salad, Longa summer special drink & Ratchaburi dry egg noodle. Overall the service is fast & friendly. The food is delicious. Definitely recommend to check out if you're in town. I'll come back again.
Ada Z
Pork noodle was amazing, I had extra spicy and it was very similar to what I had in Thailand! The Thai milk tea isn’t too sweet which is a huuuuuge yes 👏👏👏 …
Nathaly Ajila Arevalo
Very nice solid pad see ew. I didn’t expect to be that much but it was really good. I also order a leeche sangria which was delicious.
Wanyu Huang
I'd say this was a very great and unique experience about Thai food. Ordered curry dumplings (special for the day) and duck noodles, mainly for today. And out of curiosity, I also had some chicken wings as add-ons (despite I knew, I still appreciated them friendly reminding me that I may not have finished up all those).
Curry dumpling had a very fresh and rich taste, especially after adding the coconut dip. I enjoyed a lot for the duck in the noodle, with all the veggies and the soup itself, as well. Chicken wings were also good, especially with the dip they provided. Last, I myself really loved their hot sauce.
Not only I like the food, but also enjoyed the dining atmosphere (see my photos). Servers were very attentive as well. Make sure to come early - looked the place was soon almost filled, not long after its opening at noon time.
Winnie Ren
Good Thai good especially the dry noodles. Service was good too. Must try to crab and pork dry noodles. We got the seasonal sweet corn curry dumplings too which were good but nothing super special. Duck soup noodles were also good. Everything was pretty sweet. Slightly overpriced for small portions
Yochai Schwartz Gabay
Great Thai flavours!
Vegetarian dumplings were great and the papaya salad is f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c
Highly recommended

My husband and I were here for the first time. As Thai food lovers we got 4 entrees (greencurry with beef, shrimp pad thai, duck soup with egg noodles, pork with egg noodles). Food was so delicious and server was so nice too. Definitely will come again. Thank you!
Rachel Z
Delicious and authentic food that defies your expectations for Thai food. It stands out from your typical Thai restaurants by offering unique options and preparing staple dishes found in other Thai places differently, but don’t let the unfamiliarity keep you from trying the food. Love the Thai iced coffee (which isn’t too sweet or bitter) and the pork & crab dry noodles! The noodles was very filling, generous with its toppings, and surprisingly flavorful for dry noodles. The broth version was great as well. Also really appreciate the friendly and accommodating staff! I was in a rush and the staff was understanding and sped up the service for me.
Viraj Patel
Had the Ratchaburi crab and pork dry noodle. Was decent but not amazing. Sauce was a bit sweet and portion a bit small. Also had the Thai omelette, also just decent.
Steve Choi
I am a little disappointed in the dinner I had there on 21/10/22. Was there a few years back and this time the meal was not as good as before. I am reviewing as constructive criticism as I do love the service, friendliness and efficiency of the staff. My wife and I ordered the papaya salad, shrimp pad Thai and crab fried rice. The salad was missing herbs that left it tasting flat. The shrimp pad Thai was way too sweet and too saucy. Could not finish it. The shrimp was over cooked, a basic mistake. The rice was nicely cooked with good flavours and the Thai ice tea has not changed. I really do want Pure Thai to be successful so I do believe they will consider my review and improve. I do believe in them.
Nan Zhong
The menu was quite limited compared to pre COVID, but the stir fried items are always a staple and delicious! We ordered stir fried pork and the spicy level was 🌶🌶🌶💯
Beef soup noodle was ok, a little lacking flavors; Curry and pad see ew were not disappointing, and the curry dumpling appetizer were good too!
Alejandra Sanchez Herrera
This was my 2nd time at the restaurant, which never disappoints you. The 1st time I ordered the pad Thai dish, which was amazing, this time I got the pad see ew, which was delicious, got the Thai tea for my visits and it's extremely good. One of my favorite places in NYC with no doubt.
perle75nyc
Generally the flavors were a little lacking in balance. Fried rice was not seasoned at all.
Service was good though.
Diego Martínez
Amazing food. Green curry, the pork ramen, and the spring rolls were great!!!
Peter L. Ashman
Excellent food and cool vibe from staff. Get the noodles with bbq pork and crab. Best I ever had.
Sam Pierpoint
Fantastic small Thai restaurant. Food is fairly authentic. Make sure to ask for extra spicy if you like spice.
Ant Wirjo
Great spot for a quick meal! The space is pretty tightly packed, but food is delicious and staff are very friendly.
Darcy Swords
Tiny restaurant that packs a punch with amazing dishes! Green curry dish was phenomenal and with the perfect heat. Pork and crab dry noodles was delicious.
Staff was very attentive. We would highly recommend this restaurant!
Alice Weiss
Visiting NYC, took a chance and ordered delivery. Beef broth for my ailing wife and the crab and pork with dry noodles for me. Both delicious, mine actually reminiscent of Vietnamese style food. Also enjoyed a unique special drink made with wood apple and other juices.A plus was the delivery time less than 30 min at supper time on a holiday Monday
Michael Marszowski
Service was really good and the food was great - their “medium” heat truly had some kick to it, which was very welcome! Despite our party being there close to closing time, it never felt like we were being rushed out the door. All in all, a good experience and I’d happily go back!

During a 3 week NYC visit, this was the best food we had. Everything we tried was delicious (pad thai, tom yum, green curry, puff pastry, spring roll, vegetarian dumpling, sticky rice, wok ginger calamari curry). The service was outstanding. The restaurant and bathroom were so clean. Highly highly recommended.
Henry Zambrano
Excellent Thai food. I highly recommend visiting here when in the area!
The spice levels are no joke! And the service was pretty good and attentive. Love that they gave us plenty of water as well.
Miss Irene
It's super cute. The green curry and veg puffs were great. This place has the best thai iced tea I've ever had it's perfectly sweet and the ice is the crunchy kind. It's a small place so it's great for small parties. The staff was so sweet and attentive but the only reason it's not getting 5 stars is cause my veg green curry did take a bit long to get ready like we were on our second thai tea.
Haley Watts
This is by far the best Thai I have ever had. Fairly priced and the service was top notch.
Kimberly Andersen
This was a happy little gem of a place! We walked in without a reservation but the staff got us a table quickly and gave awesome recommendations. The good was so good - absolutely delightful! Our server was so lovely and the food was excellent!
Dany Daniel
This is an amazing restaurant. I was impressed when I went there. Their menu was very nice.❤️❤️
Michelle Wang
All time favourite Thai restaurant in hell’s kitchen! Food are authentic and delicious.
Allysa Dong
Absolutely LOVED the crab and pork dry noodles and the duck noodle soup. I'm still dreaming about that broth! The pad see ew was good as well, but nothing crazy compared to the aforementioned dishes. Definitely in my top 5 NYC Thai restaurants short list :)
Navi Tansaraviput
Get that Sukhothai tom yum noodles period!
Sukhothai tom yum noodles here (5/5) is on par with the best ones in Thailand. However, the other dishes are just alright.
Adam Steinbeck
Lovely experience and best Thai we've tried in the US so far. Prompt and charming service. Greatly enjoyed my green curry and bao starter. Bar seating was a bit of a squish.
Issei Kohama
Amazing place! Great music. Great vibes. Love the layout of the place. Great food! Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for high quality Thai food and superior service! The waiters were very attentive and responsive. They checked in every once in a while and poured water when someone’s cup was low. If I can rate it higher I would!
Nishant Kumar
Our group (6 people) unanimously decided on this restaurant seeing the great reviews. We had a mixed experience. Pad Thai (both chicken and shrimp) and bowls were very good. Thai ice tea was delicious. Vegetarian dishes were bland and dry.
Servers were very friendly and ambience was homely. Definitely worth visiting again.
Marketa Novakova
Supper yummy! Had the special sweet corn dumplings, lychee sangria and pad thai. Service was great and fast (we went before a show) and food was super delicious. I found this place randomly and reviews were good so thought I'd try it and was not disappointed!

The best Thai noodle place I’ve ever been in the us. 👌👌👌👌excellent. The service was a bit slow though. The staff were nice and friendly. …

We came here on a Saturday noon around 2 for lunch and there's no wait. They have an outdoor seating area with heaters which was really nice and spacious. We ordered the pad Thai with shrimp and the Ratchaburi crab&pork noodle. Both dishes were delicious and the service was great! 10/10 would recommend and would def come back again!
Raja R
Great place ...Brilliant taste. They cook in front of you
Rumana Fardaush
I ordered the classic pad thai and was very happy with the dish. The restaurant was very clean, and I felt safe dining in. Staff were attentive and, most importantly, the food was delicious. I definitely made sure to take the leftovers with me for later. Definitely worth checking out!
Nadya Mart
I am not picky eater and love Asian food. Inside of the Vegetable dumplings is nuts. And they are sweet. Interesting taste. More like a dessert.
Andy Webb
Truly amazing - best Thai food I have eaten. The rest of my family doesn’t like spicy dishes but that wasn’t a problem and everything was very flavorful.
Jimin Park
I love this small cozy Thai restaurant. It was the first time to eat Thai food, so I asked recommendation to the waitress. She nicely helped us with smile, showing food photos to understand me! The dried noodle with hot soup was really authentic. I love its vibe either. You should stop and try the tasty Thai food :)

Great Thai spot in Hell’s Kitchen with many unique dishes not found in typical Thai restaurant menus. They have fantastic daily specials too. There’s almost always a wait because of their popularity. Many things are spicy but you can for most of them request a spicy level. However when we last went there, the dish that was level 3 (highest) spicy was milder than the one that we requested level 1 (mildest) and I couldn’t feel my mouth for a while after
Vsevolod Zhovtenko
Exceptionally good place, both cuisine and service. Highly recommend.
N Maharaj
On a rainy Saturday afternoon, we were wanting something warm and spicy and this place delivered.
While there are limited vegetarian options, our server was able to suggest really good options. The menu is simple and well marked in terms of what options there are for vegans.
I had the spicy noodles with tofu and vegetables and they delivered. The flavors were amazing.
Service is spectacular, the decor is authentic and the dining experience was very pleasurable.
I would happily dine here again.
Feiran Chen
Such a gem. The dishes are unique and absolutely delicious.
Ethan Kim
Service is fast and the food is good. They serve authentic Thai food. Highly recommend their pork noodle soup.
Mina Han
It's a small place in hell's kitchen so I usually wait at least 20 minutes to be seated but it's all worth it. The food is delicious and so fresh. I love their noodles so much! If you are around times square, theatre district and crave for Thai food, I definitely recommend!
Maayan Harduf
Very good place!
Give you the sensation of Thailand.
The papaya salad is amazing!
And also all the other dish we tasted.
Beautiful place and excellent service!
If you’re in New York and want to eat like you’re in Thailand it’s definitely a place to go!
Raja Johnpulle
Delicious thai cuisine at reasonable prices for NY standards. Fast, friendly service and the staff were great at recommending dishes. The food had unique, interesting flavors. My personal favourite was the baby back ribs! The restaurant also has a cozy ambience and is situated in a good location. Definitely worth a visit!
Ryan Resmer
Very delicious, authentic Thai flavours. Good balance of the four key flavours.. sweet salty sour spice. But their noodle dishes have the punchier flavour!! Definitely check this spot out. AMAZING baby back ribs appy.
Chan Woo Park
I visited on Monday evening for dinner with another friend. There was a wait of 20 minutes. Inside is very small like a size of hallway, so it feels a bit squeezed and could be loud. They did have small waiting area at the entrance.
.
I had Ratchaburi Crab and Pork Dry Noodles. The pork tasted amazing and went along well with the crab meat. I think it had some fish sauce which gave light sweetness.
.
We shared chicken curry puffs and crispy tofu. They were also good but chicken curry puffs were not as crispy as other places.

A gem among a million Thai restaurants in Hell’s Kitchen. It is probably one of the pricier/priciest Thai restaurants in the area but also one of the best. You can’t go wrong with any of the dishes on the menu as they are all good from my experience.
There are almost always a line except for maybe before lunch rush on the weekdays. Plates are relatively small but quality is top notch. The egg noodles with the pork and crab is phenomenal. Adding pork rind to almost anything you order will add a good crunch and extra delicious kick to any dish.
Timothy Pecsenye
Small, cozy place on 9th Avenue that consistently serves great Thai food. Service is friendly. Place is almost always busy, so a wait for a table may be necessary. Reasonable prices. Absolutely worth a try if you love authentic Thai food.
Kiariladyboss
I went to Thai cookhouse with 2 friends for lunch and we enjoyed our food even though it wasn’t so tasty. The menu doesn’t offer a large variety of dishes (they don’t have masaman nor any curry dishes).
The place is cool and cozy and the staff is nice.
I’d like to try more dishes to have a better idea!

Came back for lunch and got a seat at the counter. The noodles here come with a suggested noodle type on the menu, but you can select a different noodle when you order if desire.
I ordered the Pa-Yao Beef Noodles Soup this time. I couldn’t really taste any galangal or pandan flavor in the soup. It was also a little too salty for me. The vermicelli was way too thin for my liking. The soup comes with a generous amount of meat balls, pork slices, and braised beef chunks. I wish it came with a bit more veggies and less meat instead.
Service is great as always. The wait staff constantly checking in to see if I’m doing ok.

A very cute small Thai restaurant on the border of Times Square. If you’re craving noodles, come here instead of Ippudo.
I ordered the Krabi Noodle soup. My favorite part of the dish was actually the rice noodle. It was perfectly cooked, just the right texture. I’m not a fan of the fish ball, though the thinly sliced fish cake was pretty good. The soup also come with 2-3 big shrimps and some calamari pieces.
Joshua Augusto
Not a long wait. Friendly servers. The food was great quality with some spice to it - not Thai spicy though - very much tolerable. Good came out to the table at a reasonable amount of time from when we ordered. The Thailand coffee was great! Enjoyed Pure Thai Cookhouse - would return.
Angel Pacroy
This place is an authentic Thai restaurant. The venue is pretty small and cute. We didn't have to make reservations and where seated right away. The dishes I ordered in the photos below were delicious. I highly recommend this place
Brian C
Great place for Thai in NYC! It’s small, but between how fast they serve, how good the food is, and how well they turn the tables - stay! Wait in line! Grab a Singha and read the menu. You’ll regret walking out and getting one of the other Thai joints down the street.
Lydia Ward
Had takeaway! Great portion sizes and flavour, however the pad Thai could have a little more sauce as quite dry.
Simon Vozovski
My friends and I were in the mood for Thai before our show. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I loved the music and the overall vibe of the place. I had pad Thai with shrimp because I was hesitant to eat very spicy food before my show, but it was the best I’ve ever had. We also split spring rolls which were very tasty. I’d recommend this place to anyone and would love to go back. This restaurant was unbelievable. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and quick and the prices were unbelievably good value! The seasonal soft shell crab was the best I’ve ever had. We then feasted on a variety of other appetisers which were equally good. For mains, I loved the pad Thai, but my friend had the roast pork and crab egg noodles and said they were fantastic. Would definitely recommend this for couples or families.
Karl Lindsay
When we arrived there was quite a line, but we had to try this place out. It was worth the wait! The place is pretty small, but the atmosphere was fun and inviting. We ended up sitting at the large round table in front and sharing with another couple, which was totally fine. The curry puffs were perfectly crisp and had an amazing potato filling. The pad se ew and dry noodles were so spectacular. All the food was fresh and piping hot! All was topped off with some cold sake. Great place--we can't wait to come back!
Tia Sotiriou
Tiny place which I walked past a couple of times before I found it. The dishes are cooked by one person in the middle of the restaurant. The food was delicious! I will definitely add this to my routine on future trips.
Ekaterina Spiridonova
A-m-a-z-i-n-g!
Authentic atmosphere, super friendly and nice staff and even customers!
You feel like you came to another world, where’s everyone super friendly and relax.
Food options make you want to come back again, because it’s hard to chose, you want to try everything.
Plum sake is delish and must try.
$8 glass of sake ($36 bottle)
$9 wine
$4.50-5 beer
$9-$12 meal
They have 3 levels of spice: medium, mild & hot
We had
- Wok Basil with Chicken (mild) - super tasty and spicy but not to the crying point;
- Pad Thai with Shrimp (mild) - wasn’t spicy at all, would order hot next time.
- Vegetable dumplings with spinach inside is delicious (4pcs appetizer)
Tom Lu
Pretty good, just the pad Thai was tasty and the chicken curry puffs were good. Would have given it higher if the Thai ice tea was more. Honestly $4 and it was almost literally half ice. You guys should have given more ice tea, this just feels like a rip off.
Cindy Hsu
Authentic Thai boat noodle! Reminds me of home. Quite some wait even in the afternoon on weekends. The ribs are okay, would recommend ordering other Thai appetizers. The weekend special beef boat noodle is Def a yes! However I found the soup to be a little too sweet. But overall good.
Milo Bescher
I use to love a couple of months in Thailand each year. I love thai food. Since I came to the US I've found it so hard to actually find an authentic thai place. However this places PadThai is AMAZING. It reminds me of one of my favorite restaurants on Koh Lipe in Thailand called "Koope".. Amazing! Go here!!
Marcin Czernecki
While being in New York, you have an ultimate opportunity to check out cuisines around the entire world. For one of our dinners, we picked Thai. Thanks to the positive reviews, my wife and I picked Pure Thai. When we came there, we needed to wait in long queue. However waiting was worth it. We have already saw other guest's plates, feel the tasty food. Waiting was not annoying, it was the opposite. However after maybe a 10min, we received a table. We ordered Wok Curry Paste With Pork and Fried Rice With Lump Crab Meat. We received a bottle of water even that we didn't order it - so cool. The food arrived after 15 min. My feeling that it will be good, didn't cheat me. It was delicate, full of flavor and so so tasty! I can really recommend this place. There are many Thai restaurants in NYC, I was in few of them, but Pure Thai is really a pure tasty cuisine. If I only be again in NYC, for sure I will come back.
Inna Z
The restaurant is tiny and you’re sitting right on top of other people. We had dumplings and pad Thai. Dumplings were super soft and fell apart. My husband liked his chicken pad Thai, however my shrimp pad Thai wasn’t all good. Go to Up Thai if you ever on Upper East side. They have much better dumplings and pad Thai.
Peter Gibbs
My favorite Thai restaurant in NYC. Great food, great price, great staff. Perfect proximity to the theater district for dinner before a broadway show. Very efficient at handling wait time. Never have to wait more than 30 minutes to get a table on a Friday/Saturday night
Gwen Nguyen
The Thai noodles here are definitely the best in town! I'm fully hooked on their dry noodles (vermicelli) with roast pork- perfect blend of sweet, sour, and spicy flavors! I get it almost every single time. And these wings are also very delicious!
Jaqi Cohen
Really excellent and affordable food and fun drinks. I came with a friend before catching a Broadway show and will definitely be making this place my theater district go-to from now on.
Sheldon Tay
Oh man the roast pork and crab noodles are to die for. Found this place while looking for lunch (thanks google reviews! /shameless plug) and I ordered the Thai roast pork and crab noodles mainly from the pictures on their google review page. It did not disappoint. Great texture to the noodles and the sauce was a light tangy sweet sauce that Thailand is known for. On top of that we had the green papaya salad and the pad Thai which were all delish, but for me the star was the roast pork and crab noodles. So good I had to go back the next day!
Koda Ko
This tiny Thai restaurant has great Thai food! Liked papaya salad, pork bun and fried flat noodles, but since there are not many tables the wait was long.
Cameron Adams (Cammy)
This place was so good! I ordered the duck soup on a cold day and it definitely hit the spot. Over all cool vibe, good food, and friendly service.
Anyka Chakravarty
tried the beef noodle soup and basil chicken - both were great + amazing service :) staff were super friendly and helpful
Yousuf Khan
If you’re a Thai food fan this place is a must visit. Great flavors and a variety of dishes. The krabi seafood was delicious. Spicy, seafood-y, balanced with a slight tang from the fermented tofu. I’d recommend the Pad see ew with beef too. Friendly staff!
Trish P.
Amazing! I had the green curry with beef and my partner had the pad thai. This is some of the best Thai food we've eaten!
Travis Lewallen
Very authentic Thai noodles and appetizers. It brought back memories of visiting Bangkok 🤤 highly recommend this little place!
Kelvin Niu
Excellent Thai food! The chicken pad kee mao was clearly a notch up from your typical Thai restaurant (also spicier). The pork noodle soup though was incredible. The broth was savory with hints of sweetness and it just tasted so good. Also the waitress was super nice and friendly.
Chip Boots
This place is amazing! Food is delicious and the service is spot on. Reservations recommended. Definitely will visit again when in New York.
Viriane Pes
Hidden gem in Hell’s Kitchen. It’s one of the best thaï restaurant I’ve ever been. It’s cute, small, authentic and the staff is so nice !
Food is great and not expensive at all. Great atmosphere for a late diner or a date.
Food : *****
Atmosphere : ****

- : no reservations, always a line-up
+ : very good prices, perfect for a late diner
Jessica Chen
Very very delicious noodles - kinda sweet and sour. The other curries were good as well - and mild spicy is less mild than that of other restaurants, so be a little careful.
Nao Cayasso
For years now this has been one of my favorite spots to visit in NYC. Amazing Thai food. The duck soup and Pad Thai are highly recommended!
Michael Wu
Fantastic food! Recommend any specials they may have. Noodles cooked to perfection!
Jon Sonnenschein
Excellent Thai outpost in HK. The green papaya salad is a standout. The wok dishes are very good too. Service is prompt and friendly.
Jayavani Moodley
Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever eaten and I’m very picky with my Thai food! Everything we ordered was good- pad ke Mao, pad Thai, veg medley, green curry.
מורן גבעון
Excellant thai food, felt as if we were at local restaurant at Bangkok for an hour... grate atmosphere , loved it! Will surely come back!
Shim
I always get the Ratchaburi Crab & Pork Dry Noodles. Amazing every time. Actually I lied, I always get two for takeout, for myself.
Nycha S.
If you have no time to go to Thailand, then come here and try one of the best traditional Thai food!! Not only is food as awesome as in Thailand, but the service is also nice and friendly!! I strongly recommend beef salad and the "Ractchaburi noodles”
.
.
Update: The service is just so friendly with their big smile. It’s aways a happy time to come here :)
S. B.
Very good Thai place!
John LaValley
Wow! It’s been a hot minute since I visited this NYC gem. The food was even better than I remembered. A magical symphony of world flavors. This place deserves all the love.
Eugena Won
I got a tom-yam-kung noodle, papaya salad and pat-thai noodle. Those were really good!
Good portion, super busy, cool staffs.
I’ll go try another one soon.
Polakshee Gogoi
Amazing Thai food! We were visiting NYC for work and wanted to experience good Thai food. This place is in walking distance from Times Square. Highly recommend if you want to experience good Thai dishes. The restaurant is tiny. If you have a large party of people I would recommend calling ahead and making sure they have space to accommodate all. This place wouldn't disappoint! We had a hearty dinner. We would definitely visit again whenever we get a chance.
Adrianne Cheung
This Thai diner is probably my favorite one in NYC. I went there a couple years ago, it’s been on my mind from time to time.
I’m so going back next time, wait for me!
DGL
I ordered the duck noodle soup, and it was delicious! The soup was nicely flavored, but I like a little heat to my food and added a few spoonfuls of the chili powder on the table. Beware: that stuff is spicy! Still enjoyed the noodles, the soup, the duck, and the veggies. A nice decent amount of protein left me happily full. The space itself is small and cozy so expect a wait if you come at peak times.
孫羽含
Tremendous… good food with good price and good service! Thai milk tea is amazing!
Trevon Davis
The food is so tasty. My noodles were delicious and flavorful with a kick. I recommend the flat noodle dishes.
Helen Zhao
Yummy food, quite spicy. Very affordable menu with good options. Indoor seating is limited but service is fast.
Rocky R.
Love this place so much! I always go here when i crave noodles. Their noodles are so tasty. I tried their chicken satay buns as well. It was delicious. Their wings were also so crispy and the sauce that came with it was delish! Highly recommend if you’re in the area.
L C
It is really good! My boyfriend never eats vegetable! It’s been such a headache for me! But, he ate the jungle curry fried rice, and gladly ate all of the vegetables in the plate( except the super spicy chili pepper and the lime), even the cucumbers! Thank you pure Thai cookhouse!
Victor Estrada
Great food, we had the Ratchaturi Pork and Crab Nuddles and a Shrimp Pad Thai
Brian Fox
Amazing! One of the highlights of our NYC visit. I heard the pork and crab dry noodles were their specialty and it didn't disappoint. My wife is vegan and loved the vegetable steamed dumplings. She also ordered the pad woo sen and enjoyed it as well. The place was clean and the service was excellent. Prices were reasonable ($40 for 2 noodle dishes and appetizer) and good portion sizes. There was a 45 minute wait at 9 pm on a Monday, but totally worth it!
swyx
had the green curry with shrimp. green curry was properly spicy, chicken rather dry, shrimp unremarkable. didnt feel like a good use of $22. wont be going back
Polly Anywhere
Long time no see! and SO happy to be here to have my favorite crab and roast pork dry homemade egg noodles (adding pork cracking). It’s so good and fresh as always.
Amy Shimeng Cao
Highly recommend seafood jumbo wok (pad prik pow talay)!!
Anne-Marie Gomes
The food is excellent, fresh, well-seasoned. We had appetizers (chicken, tofu) and a spicy salad. Delivery was quick and the food temperature appropriate. If I were to make one criticism, the sauces, especially for the tofu are FAR TOO SWEET. Too much sugar or sweetener in them. Other than that, the meal was delicious. We have eaten here, many times and will do so again in the future.
abisnail
This was excellent…we saw the reviews online and decided to try it. Completely lived up to our expectations with the level of cleanliness customer service and dining experience. We literally cleaned our plates and wanted more but were too full lol. Definite coming back. Thanks Pure!
Paula Chau
I had the fried chicken, pad see ew, and the coconut juice. Everything was amazing, the Thai food was authentic and delicious! The space is small and sometimes you have to share a table! Worth the trip and the wait!
Jamie Lai
This place is really delicious! It's not traditional but it's a nice modern take on Thai. The dry noodle dish was the highlight. But the veggie medley is also quite good. My only small criticism is the Thai iced tea was a bit watered down. Expect a bit of a wait but nothing crazy.
Katie Wu
Best Thai Restaurant! Taste so much like foods in Bangkok. I love their stir-fry flavor and spices and my friend loves their soup noodles esp flat noodles, so silky !
Kevin Kong
The food was okay, but I am giving this 3 stars because I found numerous small crab shells in my crab meat fried rice which made it a not fun eating/chewing experience.
lisa kim
It was my first time trying thai food! The server recommended very good foods. She was very friendly ! I enjoyed all of them! Its kinda high price range but I highly recommended this place.
Han Jang
My go-to when I was going to school nearby. I feel like all Thai food is good, but Pure Thai takes it to the next level. Every dish is outstanding!
Christina Allen
I've been coming here for 6 years and Tim
Is great. You can get the Shrimp Drunken Noodle or the fried Rice! Classics the spring rolls are great too!
Laura Alexandra
Had the curry paste pork and this place deserves all the stars it has. The food was delicious and the price is perfect. Definitely a must!
Jiageng Guo
My favorite Thai restaurant in town with authentic dishes and drinks.
The narrow alley-like space is a good vibe sheltered in the middle of Hell's Kitchen's urban scene.
daniel klein
Cozy little narrow U-shaped restaurant with table or bar seating. Staff mad nice. Specials were nuts. And affordable for what you get.
Armando Sanchez
Some of the best flavors in thai cuisine have been cooked here. Superb on every level. Service, quality, and ambiance.
Pilar Massanes
Amazing food. It was interesting to be able to try a Thai beer. Portion was good enough for having left overs.
Chandra Ade-Browne
Good food but the wait was exceptionally long (45 min). The chicken was lightly seasoned most of the flavoring came from the sauce for dipping. The vegetable dumplings were good but it has a lot of peanuts in it!
JLC
Solid Thai - very good beef noodle soup. Great shrimp and pork dumplings. Would recommend to a friend.
Sharon
Great Thai food at an affordable price. Pad Kee Mao was like a warm hug for the stomach.
JK Trader
Wow! It is amazing tail food. If you do not try this place, do not say you had tried thai food.
As named it is, this is almost perfect pure thai food.
Highly recommended in NYC.
D K
Great authentic Thai food in a vibrant atmosphere; fantastic food!
Robert Brouwer
Great Thai, small selection, got there about 9.45pm, short wait as packed, but worth waiting for. Only comment is spicy could be a bit spicier, but there is chilli you can add.
Larry Spielfogel
Great great great. pad-Thai, chicken Basil, the duck soup is incredible insane
Been and Tumeric crazy good , mango salad, All in all very good food a must go!
SY C
Pad thai was so good! It was better than expected. Red beef curry was also my favorite. I liked how spicy it was.
Orielle M.G.
A great little find near the Hell's Kitchen area of NYC. The restaurant is quite small, I would recommend making reservations in advance. I only needed a table for 1 during my visit, so I was able to grab a seat at the bar. I ordered the pork buns and the pad thai. Both were quite delicious and were served in sizable portions. After finishing my meal, I ordered a Thai iced tea to go so I could enjoy it as I continued to tour the city.
This is definitely a great hidden gem and worth the stop if you're in the area.
Pamela Greer
Best Thai food you will ever find in New York! Awesome experience and great service. I plan on going back!
Dani Choi
I almost cried as soon as I had a bite of Pad Thai. It was awesome, amazing and speechless. I’m not a noodle person, so when I have even good noodles, I usually can’t finish one serving on my own. However, this was literally the first time I finished my noodle dish by myself. The combination of ingredients was amazing. Definitely worth visiting again. There was a waiting line but I only waited 10mins since I went there by myself.
Chihiro N
Perfect!
The food was great.
Staff were very kind.
Definitely we'll come back here.
Gustavo Gonzalez
This place is a must. I would go again next time visiting NYC
Igor Morzan
This place is seriously the best Thai restaurant in the city.. go try their dishes.. won’t regret it..
Andy Mendoza
Every time I’m in the city, Pure is a must stop! Food and service and impeccable. Can be busy at times but food is worth the wait! Chicken pad Thai and Ratchuburri pork and crab is to die for and as well as the ribs! Don’t forget your Thai iced teas as well!
Andi Wagner
This is a small Thai Restaurant. We had to wait for 20 min. For a table but it was worth. We had the steamed beef dumplings, Fried Tofu and the Pad... Ew ;) it was delicious. If we ever come back to New York we will go there again.
Heiko Gehrig
Tasty Thai food and great prices. Very friendly staff in a restaurant with nice atmosphere.
Staff are Thai so the food is indeed authentic, at least with the ingredients available locally.
Smit Sharma
Exceptional. Great food, even better service.
J T
Whenever I'm in town, this is my go to for Asian cravings. It's simply one of the best Thai food I've had. It might even be better then what Thailand has to offer.
If you're in the area I would recommend checking it out , but do reserve your tables as it's usually packed with people.
Order anything. They hardly mess up. :)
Horus Wu
Food is pretty decent, but nothing particularly impressive. Refreshing for summer though. Noodles were nice. Can tell they’re better than regular, less authentic thai noodles.
Xiao-fang Ruan
Great service and atmosphere and the food was definitely tasty. I like how there are loads of pescatarian options. It will get crowded at the place so definitely recommend that you make a reservation prior to heading there .
th V
Great pad thai and spring rolls! Good portion. Cozy location. They have thai beer (Singha). Good service, but I’m still wondering if the gratuity is indeed ‘suggested’
Yetunde Meroe
It's super easy to walk past this location but it's definitely worth the stop! Their small plates are delicious and everything I had was not just tasty but beautifully complex
Gregor J. Rothfuss
Very nicely done dishes, properly seasoned and gloppy like at most Thai places. To bad the vegetarian options are quite limited.
Raj Srivastava
Ordered bao and wok fried Thai chicken. Such good food. Can’t praise enough. Great food.
Isabelle Tran
One of the best Thai noodles around town - order the pork noodle soup.
victoria geh
Food 5/5
My Thai friend said this place has the most authentic Thai food in the city, and I was not disappointed. Great intense flavors, and the pad thai had a very balanced amount of peanuts for the crunch and lime for the citrus flavors. Noodles were also the perfect chew. Not much to say except definitely a staple if you're ever craving Thai food!
Interior 5/5
The restaurant is a long thin corridor, so it was a little tight, but the decor was very interesting combination of rustic and industrial.
Service 5/5
The waiter was very friendly and gave great recommendations.
Nina Le
Checked into my hotel and decided to find something close by. I was so satisfied with my meal. I had the pat see ew and Thai ice tea and I polished everything.
Bridget BG
Legit thai food. Sukhothai noodles totally on point! Same taste as in thailand!
Henali Patel
Very rich and authentic lemongrass flavors in the curry paste stir fry dishes 😋 make reservations because they can get pretty busy!
Neha Srinivas
Best Thai food I’ve ever had in nyc! Service is quick and food is amazing.
Jane Vongvorachoti
Great real Thai food served here. Worth a visit
Winston Wu
Quality has deteriorated over the years. Pad kee Mao was very liquidy. Crab fried rice hardly any crab.
J J
I love it here. The Pad Kee Moa never disappoints. Vegetable dumplings and the beef buns are great to order as well. Expect a wait...always. The place is small and cozy. Oh, and get some Funaguchi sake in a can!
Brishti Mandal
We had a really positive experience at Pure Thai Cookhouse. The servers are warm and welcoming. The service was great- really good portion sizes, lovely flavour, and speedy service. We ordered the spring rolls, a few different options of stir fry and curry, and their dessert which I highly recommend. Highly recommend!
Mark M
Very nice thai restaurant. Careful with the spices it can be very hit even for one or 2 stars.
Scott Stewart
Incredible food, quick & friendly service and a super cool atmosphere. Great Thai place!
Kaifeng Wei
Opposite to other reviews our dining experience here was not so good-the seating area was cold, and the food was not so tasty. The pad Thai we ordered seemed to be just fried with some generic sweet and spicy sauce, and the stir fry ordered was so ordinary it tastes like simple homemade stir-fry.
Deance Reyes
Speechless. Super small as you would expect in NYC, but food is amazing.
Sammi Wong
Ordered the Beef noodles and Thai iced tea. No doubt the best thai noodles in NYC - must try! Came here at 4pm for lunch, and the restaurant is almost full. (Wow)
Would definitely come back for dinner!
yuxing yang
We liked the curry dumpling pastry, and we wished we got soup noodles instead, they look good
Alessandra Ciliberti
Best thai ever! A must when I'm in NYC.
Thomas Kusch
Very fast service, delicious food, good prices and portions. They have most of the classical Thai dishes, but I was missing Panang curry. The decor and tables are simple, but comfi. Definitely not a classy place. Seating is very limited, since this is a genuine hole in the wall. They also appear to have a very popular delivery service as judged by the bike delivery folks constantly zipping through the restaurant. The only dislike is that there is a constant bombardment of Thai pop at a pretty high volume. It is still possible to have a conversation without yelling. The music seems to resonate very well with the younger crowd this restaurant attracts.
Jorge Camara
A New York temple for Thai food. One of the best Thai restaurants I have ever had, and I have been around the world.
Randy Singh
Great atmosphere, great food, and great service! It does feel like you're eat Thai Street food. Food comes out so hot. You know they cook that stuff fresh!
Karen Peer
Espectacular!!! Very little space at 9th , between 51-52th, 1 hour waiting, it worth it, Pad Thai, noodles with pork and crab, excelente The price acurate I want to come back soon
Jamila
Great authentic Thai food! I got the Pad See Ew (pictured).
Jake S
The best Thai food you will find outside Thailand. Everything on the menu is delicious and the service is awesome.
Benjamin Hargrove
Good but not great Thai food. Tasty green curry but beef was tough and bland like Panda Express even though waiter recommended it as a popular dish. Chicken bao buns, flavorful but CRAZY small for the price.
Heejin Kim
Authentic Thai and so diff from all those generic Thai restaurants that litter NYC. There's always a long wait so just come by yourself and eat at the counter or takeout.
Marie Herman
Simply delicious! I had the wok ginger curry with shrimps, very fragrant and fresh, the portion was well-sized. The service was excellent, the place is very cosy.
Juan R
The food was great. The pad thai was too sweet for my taste, but I guess that's how it is supposed to be, at least in the US. The service was good.
Devin Mell
Have stopped in a few times over the years for lunch and never disappointed. Everything on the menu is good, just pick the flavors to your taste.
Minglu Li
Their dry noodle with charsu and crab meet is my favorite. Food comes fast. They are always very flexible with customer’s special requests which is a huge plus.
Moni Venu
Place is too small and conjusted. Have to wait for sometime to get table. Food was good if you like Thai cuisine. They might add peanuts in their dishes so inform them if you are allergic to peanuts.
Arnas Kriaučiūnas
We really enjoyed this restaurant! Food was very tasty, place was cozy and service was nice. 100% recommended!
Nick Miceli
Delicious authentic Thai food with a cozy atmosphere. It can be a little claustrophobic at peak, but is worth it for the food!
Lucia Perfetti Clark
Delicious, different, great atmosphere, never been to Thailand, but sure seems like the real thing.

Best noodle in the city. Especially Pork Boat Noodle
Ab
My favorite was the chicken Satay in the Bao bun. Especially with the peanut sauce, it was perfect. It’s a must try!
Jessi Canales
Waitstaff is great. Place is adorable. Everything we tried was good.
Adam
Line outside the door waiting for the restaurant to open for lunch. I ordered the seafood salad and the green curry. Both were fantastic!
Mary
Ka Pao Kai was a little bit strong taste but everything was delicious!!!
I can’t wait to go again:)
Vara
Their homemade egg noodles are legit authentic and delicious, just like in southeast asia or even better
Georgina Kat
A cozy cute restaurant. The service was amazing. I asked for the crispy tofu with the basil sauce and the waiter was able to get them to make it in the kitchen specially for me. Prices are very reasonable. Will be returning!

Awesome Pad See Ew - maybe the best I've ever had (order with medium spice)! Spring rolls and chicken wings were great! So many things I'd like to try on the menu. We hope to try it again soon!
Gerardo Aponte
I came here with a Friend, we decide to go a bit early in the night, because she has been here a few times, and mention that they wait can be 45 minutes if you go in the rush hour.
We decide to share the chicken curry puffs before ordering our entree, the appetizer was delicious a bit hot not spicy hot, hot temperature with I had to wait until it was a bit cool a little before eating it.
I had the Pad see ew with Beef a flat rice noodle that came with tomato, baby bok choy snow pea, chili puree and Thai basil. The food was great, the amount was satisfying, noddle was great and beef had a juicy taste I recommend having this plate.
My friend had the Krabi seafood noodle soup with was not that spicy for her.
The staffs are amazing and they look nice wearing their Halloween costume.
Sabrina Scholkowski
Suuuuuuuch a good find!
We stumbled upon this place by accident while trying to find a dinner place before sering the Book of Mormon, and I was ecstatic to have found it.
I am the biggedt fan of thai food, and I've been obsessed since I went there in 2017, so I can actually say this place remains true to it's origins! From the flavor, the presentation and the locale itself.
Definitely should go there if you're around! Just beware you mught have to wait awhile as it's usually pretty busy!
MI SEON Kim
Awesome thai noodle quiet fast and very nice service! The only negative thing is the restaurant is small and tables are very close to each other, but if you are fine with it, it's absolutely a worthy.
Keely McSpurren
Such a cute and well run spot. Service was amazing. Veggie dumplings are a must have!!
Deth Khaia
Food was good. Small restaurant and tight seating.
Chev Thuon
The best restaurant delicious food fresh beat fresh bread the place to eat
Mary Ashmore
Love coming here and it has amazing, tasty food ! Got there a half hour before opening
And there was a line before it even opened. The entire place filled up within 5 mins of opening. The mango sticky rice is amazing.
Robert W. Surles
Food generally good. Needs more variety.
They have lots of broths but no regular Thai soup offers. When they make one as a special it’s been delicious. Why not have one reoccurring?
Matthew Ridgeway
Best spring rolls and Thai iced tea I’ve ever had. This is the highest rated Thai restaurant in the spots within 10 minutes walk and I can see why. The service was fantastic, just like the food.
Brenda Rubio
Great little hole in the wall! I had a great experience even though their kitchen was closing in less than an hour, we got seated and able to get our orders in right away. Definitely more authentic than the average Thai place you see in NY these days. Great portion size and everything was delicious!
Elizabeth Tam
The Thai food here is delicious, my favorite is the pad Thai and pad see ewe. The restaurant is very small and does not take reservations, so expect to wait if you come during busy hours as they are very popular!
纽约霹雳狗(霹雳狗的游戏频道)
Food is pretty good, the taste like I ate in Thailand. but service is just soso.not good.not bad,but they do things like you should go,bcs they are busy.
Matt
Best Thai food in BYC. A little pricier than most places, but it’s well worth it.
A H
Outdoor seating was good, but lots of passing bicyclists literally right next to you, if you sit close to the door. Duck noodle soup was really rich and flavorful - if you ask for spicy sauce, they'll give it to you on the side. This added a great kick. And the pad thai is a MUST! The noodles are super tasty. Great service, too.
Jonathan Decker
Best Thai in Hell’s Kitchen is not the whole island of Manhattan! It’s amazing food! Go try it! Make sure to wait because this place is great.
Carlos Villavieja
Tiny restaurant and cheap with good Thai options. They only lack of options for dessert. Service was pretty fast.
Thérésa Jarvis
It's just one of those "hole in the wall". The food...OMG! Try the desert! Sweet sticky rice and pumpkin souvlé....you will want to order another one!
Nuttamon Le Men
The real taste of Thai. Papaya salad so amazing. The service so great. Recommend
Ari Birnbaum
Some of the best Thai food I’ve had in nyc! Pretty authentic and great options.
Whittney Chu
I actually ordered from mise so the cooks prepackaged everything and I cooked it at home (I got the Wok Basil Chicken). The food was amazing! While they packaged everything nicely and the instructions were very clear, I'll probably skip mise next time and just order directly/eat in here. The interior of the restaurant looked very quaint too when I went to pick up my mise order.
C K
On one hand the pad thai was not overly sweet and had a good flavor profile. However there was not enough sauce to cover the noodles. Also asked for chili pepper powder and they gave a minuscule amount, literally a pinch. It had potential but I won’t be back.
Just Some guy
Ate here the other day and sat outside so we could people watch. Every single person we encountered who worked there was so friendly and they were all very attentive. The food was excellent. What a great experience. You can’t go wrong having lunch or dinner here.
Alice Tang
absolutely beasted the crab and pork dry noodles. just wow.
honorable mention to the puffs *chefs kiss*
Amberly Lynn
Cozy little restaurant with great food and lots of flavor. They play Thai rock music! So fun!
JK Gardner
Great Thai good! Hubby had green curry beef and I had Shrimp Pad Thai. .both were very good!!
Jay Mismat
This cosy little place made for tables of one or two served up some swift service and tasty food. The menu is small but covers off a lot. The green curry was a little more spice than taste after I let it sit for a bit but overall delicious.
I had the green curry with beef and crunchy spring rolls.
Tu Nguyen
I dined here twice, the first time was good. My second time was really off, sat all the way in the back of the restaurant and server didn’t check to see how’s everything. It took a while for me to reach them to order the dessert. The puffs and noodles are good but the mango sticky rice is completely uncooked and it’s $10. I’m so disappointed to experience that. I’m sure a few blocks down have a better options.
Hugo Palomares
Good prices and great food. True thai flavours and the best duck noodle soup in hells kitchen.
AM Reing
Pure fabulous! Excellent dishes, unique, fresh and full of flavor. Now we’ve even gone back for takeout as this has become our favorite Thai dinner stop!
Chris Murray
Very friendly and helpful service and food was very tasty. It’s a cosy little restaurant. I was on my own and had to wait about 10 minutes for a table which was fine, but coming with a group it’s probably best to book ahead as it’s very popular. Will definitely go again 😊
Arno Rogg
The food was absolutely incredible. The appetizers price is a little high but the entrees are incredible. Recommendation from the waitress was excellent!
Don’t miss the mango sticky rice!
Oleg Pynda
Very tasty food, fast service and amazing vibe with Thai movie posters on walls
Stuart DuHadaway
This is up there with the best Thai food I was able to find in NYC. My wife and I visited and ended up eating four entrees. I thought we would only taste them but we ended up finishing everything. The highlight for me was the green curry and pad Thai. We also had a stirfry dish and a soup that included the egg noodles. Everything was excellent. We will be back!
John Sanchez
Many people consider this to be the very best Thai restaurant in Hell's Kitchen. It’s a kind of small place but they do a good job of seating large parties. I love the loud Thai pop music they play.
Seshasayee Mukunthan
Their steamed dumplings is one the best dishes Ive had in NYC
Barmak Heshmat
Sooo good, everything is done really well! I am definitely coming back, simply authentic and tasty.
Em M
Top notch fresh Thai food. We sampled a number of dishes and everything was presented beautifully. The restaurant, while small, was very cozy and never felt over crowded.
Lawrence Liu
An unpretentious and authentic Thai home cooking at its best. I have recently had my meals there, the food was delicious, and the servers were very friendly and welcoming. If you are craving for good Thai, just go there!
Megan Pahl
Stumbled upon this place without reading the menu or any reviews, and boy are we glad we did! Staff was very attentive and food was AMAZING. The Beerlao beer was very authentic. Although everything was a 10/10, the pumpkin custard with sticky rice they had for dessert was our favorite!
David Fernando Guajardo
Great place !
Delicious food with fresh ingredients that you can see at the entrance.
Pad Thai Tofu is a perfect choice for vegetarians.
Vy Nguyen
Absolutely love this Thai place. Offers a lot of different dishes, not just the ever familiar pad thai and curry. All their noodle dishes are very interesting and taste great. I've tried a couple wok dishes too and love the spice level.
E. Richardson
This spot look way bigger online, but nevertheless... the food was yummy!!! Nice genuine people serving too
Hee Jeong Kim
The food was really nice. The restaurant itself is cozy and small. However, I left 3 stars because of their service. It was just dreadful how they seated people, causing a long wait time for everyone and the service was just so bad.
Matthew Hudson
So my girlfriend and I went to see a show. We were in the theater area, so we were searching for a good spot to eat before the show. Neither one of us goes to many plays, so we were completely unaware of our options. Somebody on the street actually recommended this Pure Thai Cookhouse to us, and we didn't regret it. I've always been greeted fast and in a friendly way when I go to Thai restaurants, and this place was no exception. We got to a table pretty fast, and ordered within a few minutes. I had the best vegetable dumplings I have ever tried. They were so well-cooked, with a little crisp on the outside, and gooey on the inside. My girlfriend had some sticky rice and noodles, and was impressed with the quality of the grain and rice that they used. All in all, the meal cost us about 30 dollars for two diners, and we were full for our night in the theater. The waitstaff was really quick and efficient, and that stands out in my mind when I think back to my experience there. They were very fast and organized, but not in a way that felt pushy. I wholeheartedly recommend Pure Thai Cookhouse if you are going to a show or if you are just in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood.
Ju Ferraz
The most amazinh Thai Food! The smell of the soup is stuck in my mind.
Geoffrey Fivaz
Perfect thai restaurant and the staff is very nice
Ricardo Martínez Campos
Great place with Thai food. Pretty small and cozy. A little on the pricier side to be honest, but the food is really delicious. Try the sake!!
Eliza Angell
Pure Thai Cookhouse is a wonderful, incredibly authentic Thai restaurant! The staff are so kind. From the decor, to the music, the sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves, or the pebbled ice you will feel like you are in Bangkok. I highly recommend the Sukhothai Pork Noodle Soup (I miss it so much!) or the Chicken Fried Rice. The Spring Rolls are great as well! I would also like to add that I have been consistently going here since 2012 (as it was recommended by a Thai friend to me) and the food has been consistent in it's quality, freshness, and authenticity since then.
cociamo71 49
Everything about this restaurant deserves 5 stars! The place is super cozy with both indoor and outdoor dining! The food is extremely delicious, I HIGHLY recommend the dry ratchaburi (sweet and savory). The tea and coco dessert are also very tasty! I will definitely be returning! :D
Y Otsuka (ゆきねぇ Yukinei)
One of the best Thai restaurants in the city.
Kate Kosche
Simple, modest space with excellent Thai food focusing on noodle dishes. Very tasty, good service. Beware of ordering "hot" spice level unless you really want to be blasted. We found "medium" heart was still pretty spicy and done for us
Vanessa Cruz
Best Thai in the city! Real authentic Thai food. The best part is, they make their noodles in house.
Spencer Kingsbury
Best Thai food I have had outside of Thailand. Place was quite small and tight but service made up for it. Highly recommend!
Henry Wu
Very authentic Thai food! Reminded me a lot of the food back in Thailand!
Aubrey N
It's so hard to choose which Thai restaurant is good. They all do a great job at making traditional food. The portion size was large for the Wok Vegetable Medley With Tofu. I will be coming back very soon.
Vanessa Pappa
Excellent traditional thai food!! Very cute restaurant!!!
Bryan Kauder
This place is ridiculously underrated. Ended up here randomly late after a show and had some of the best Thai I’ve ever had. It’s unique, authentic, and extremely delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
Azi Amiri
The food was not the best but good enough. They brought a wrong plate for one of us and when we told them the waiter was so hesitant to replace it that we ended up just staying with whatever he brought!
So the service, food, ambiance all mediocre.
No, I won't go back there.
Nauman Lalani
Ordered the Chicken Satay in Steamed bun along with a Green Curry and the food came out piping hot and delicious. Food tasted great and the peanut sauce had a spicy kick in to compliment the chicken satay well.
BV Santy
They dont have tomyam soup but they have the best noodle, chicken wings, satay, and chicken/pork basil🙌🏻 …
Alex F. Lazo
Excellent place. Thai food here is very genuine and the spot is nice! Recommended!
Arun Kochhar
Satisfyingly authentic, Pure Thai lives up to its name. Flavors and spices are absolutely perfect, and they're completely willing to turn up the heat!
Nathan Noland
I’ve been here a lot since they opened several years back. I love their Thai soups with a beer before seeing a movie or live show. I wish they were open Sundays though. Close Monday / Tuesday instead maybe! I ended up going to a diner nearby instead last week when I got there and discovered they weren’t open. Wah wah 😭 …
Albert Freeman
In an area full of respectable Thai food, this place stands out both for quality and creativity. Really like the music they play also.
Maria Wilson
The food was delicious. Good portions, not huge but enough to fill you up. I got the turmeric beef and split an order of the chicken curry puffs. So much flavor and great textures. Everything tasted super fresh and high quality. I'm definitely going back.
Hunter Nottingham
Aaaaaamazing. I got a chicken basil wok dish and it was out of this world. Friendly staff. Really cool encirclement.
R B.
Great spot for authentic Thai in a homey atmosphere! Will definitely return!
Chinh David Nguyen
Love Pure Thai one of my top Thai that I ever tried during vacation!
Gil W
Be careful if you order the Papaya salad with Blue Crab appetizer, it’s very Spicy! The soup noodles are awesome. The service was very attentive. Good value but if you don’t have a reservation, be ready to wait an hour or more. This place isn’t very big, so not many tables!
Lisa Kim
Lots to wait. Food is decent. I don’t think it’s authentic but good food.
Liam Brown
Absolutely wonderful food with fast service and very helpful servers. Definitely go light on the roasted Chile pepper though, it was extremely spicy as is to be expected.
Marion NYC
Thai food at its best!! Really enjoyed the crab fried rice! The food tasted really good! Tons of seating indoors and a few outdoors! The place is right in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen! Definitely check them out! I highly recommend this place!!
Ela Ilias
Great food and awesome service
Rachel Noah
Outstanding. Best Thai food in NYC! Pad See Yew is a must order.
Yuji Horimoto
Ratchaburi Crab With Egg Noodle is a must get. Fried chicken was nicely done. Basically everything was quite flavorful but not overwhelming.
Andrea Giorgi
Very fresh ingredients and very delicious food.
This restaurant is very original with Thai music all along your stay.
We really enjoyed and during our 4 days stay we were here twice.
Homemade egg noodles is made fresh every day.
In both days we found a table even without reservation. If go for dinner maybe it would be a good idea to make a reservation though.
For me one of the best Thai restaurant ever!
Paula Caravelli
Best Thai food since Thailand! Enjoyed homemade green curry, Pad Thai, and boat noodles in beef broth.
Morris Logsdon
I try not to give away 5 stars easily but this place definitely deserves!
Done a fair share of Thai tasting throughout the city and hands down this is the best tasting, most authentic you're going to find!
Noodles are handmade, prices are within reason, and taste service is impeccable.
I'll say this- this is a very small restaurant so anticipate a wait if you plan on dining in. Take out preferred if your in the area.
Pad see ew , also recommend the crispy tofu, and curry puffs. Can't have Thai food without Thai coffee / iced tea! This place just hits on all cylinders. First discovered this place a few years back and reconnected recently only to be reaffirmed this is THE best Thai food in NYC.
Highly highly recommend to all Thai lovers. Will not go wrong.
Khunsha
Excellent and authentic Thai food! It tasted fresh and was served in a timely manner. Would recommend!
kate dubitski
Great Thai spot. Our drinks were delicious! Will be coming back!
Ankush Patel
Came here to get a dinner over the weekend. Wait time for a table was not long at all, the food came out super fast and was piping hot. Great variety of traditional Thai dishes and also their famous noodles. Only downside was how close the tables were to one another but it’s all part of the cookhouse experience. Would recommend if you’re in the mood for noodles and wanna try something new!
Dustin Sutton
Excellent Jungle Curry!
I visited here a few years ago and then came back yesterday for lunch with my wife since we were back in town. I have a gluten allergy so the waiter pointed out the Pad Thai, Jungle Curry, and a couple of other options. It wasn't an extensive selection of gluten-free options but enough. I wasn't excited about any of them really but went with the Jungle Curry and it was Excellent. It was a large portion and I was sad when it was gone.
My wife went with the Turmeric Chicken and was very pleased with it as well. Both dishes had the perfect amount of spice for us (spicy but edible) and the service was great. The only drawback of the place is it's super small so we felt a bit cramped but I'd go back anytime I was in the area and wanting Thai without hesitation.
A. Hoffmann
This restaurant serves excellent Thai food. We visited the place two times during our NYC trip and we have never been disappointed. The staff was friendly and very fast. It feels like they have about the same number of employees as there are guests in the restaurant. But everything is organized perfectly and very efficiently. Our food was served after 2 minutes and it was very fresh and hot. The place is quite small and it was always crowded. However, people don't stay long in the restaurant so you don't have to wait long to be seated. The restroom was clean and so was the kitchen (you can have a look inside the kitchen while you are in the line for the restroom). We paid $14 for fried rice with chicken and about the same amount for a stir-fried wok dish with shrimps. Portions had normal to big size. All in all, I would recommend to visit the place.
Spencer Boerup
This was the best Thai food I've ever had. Even with a group of 6, service was incredibly exceptional. They went out of their way to get food out fast, clear plates, refill drinks, and all around just delivery an awesome experience.
It was so tight inside, that it actually felt like we were all inside a small boat, on the water in Thailand itself. The food, and noodles, are off the hook, and the price was an absolute bargain for the quality. Crazy good!
Alex Flores
First place visited while in NYC was Pure Thai Cookhouse. The wait was not that long (20 min) and worth every second.
Staff were very helpful as they offered insight into the menu.
The food was outstanding. We order Vegetable Dumplings as appetizer and a Wok Stir Fry & Dry Noodle Duck dish for mains.
Setra - (yst)
Ratchaburi is a must-order. The lychee sangria is very refreshing. Staff has always been friendly. You can do a walk-in. They have plenty counter space.
Sydney
Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in the city. My mom is from Thailand/Laos, and I can attest to the fact that their food is legit. Especially the papaya salad. And the crab noodles cannot be missed!!
Frank P
Great food and great price. The service is really good and fast.
Michelle Trinh
Great service. We ordered online and it didn’t come and they resent our meal right away and where super apologetic about it.
I love their crab and pork noodle with egg noodle dry. It’s a must here!
Justin Lin
Good tasting food. But portion is a bit too small.
The Thai tea was great. Chicken satay was good too but only 4 pieces for 8 bucks. The Pure Thai noodle was delicious but I wish there was more noodle in it. Fried rice was a bit lighter (less salty) but portion was just nice for this one.
Ada YiLau
One of my favorite Thai places. The Thai tea is perfect. Noodles scrumptious and the specials are always a delight.
Mark McGee
Four great dishes. Tasty, fresh and friendly, highly recommended.
Romeo Santos
This place is an authentic Thai restaurant. The venue is pretty small and cute. We didn't have to make reservations and where seated right away. I ordered their infamous ratchaburi crab & pork dry noodles and it definitely lived up to expectations. It's expensive here, and even with smaller portion sizes, you're still paying a lot for what you get. Lots of meat dishes for the meat folk. The staff is excellent as well! I highly recommend this place.
traveljoy memin
Excellent Thai food, if you looking for authentic thai noodles then I recommend this place
Pedro Rosendo
On a Saturday night there was a short weight but it was worth every second. The service was amazing. The staff is so dang friendly! The food was perfect, and that’s no hyperbole. The only slight downside is the tables are extremely close to each other, and the couple next to us was making out, no joke, across from each other so it was a little awkward. They moved us into the long table and made our dinner the highlight of the day
ชลิดา เเสงศรี
Great food variety, nice place, great service
Dan
Delicious, affordable Thai. Beware of the spice.
Nikki Zaa
Good service, good food but too crowded, fast service. This the best restaurant for Thai noodle .I love Thai ice tea.
Teresa Huang
The noodles are so good! The beef balls are the best - juicy and tender, like tiny flavorful bombs!!
Henry Kim
Great place to get Thai food, but be prepared to wait due to its small area. They have an online waiting list, so you can leave and come back when it's nearly done. The food itself was pretty good, and the spice level is not as bad as how they made it seem. While dining, the restaurant plays classic 80s style Thai music for a more "authentic" experience.
Vic G
Very nice place. Cozy setting perfect for cold winters days. The food was good. I got khao soi with chicken. It was very well made. I wanted more spicier but the kind waitress made sure I had extra red hot sauce. Love the side bar next to the wall as the tables are quite close to each other. The decor is rustic and very old school. And the Thai movies’ music banging in the background perfectly complemented the movie posters and the good food. Very nice service. Overall very good.
Jordan Siskind-Weiss
My favorite restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen. Really yummy noodle soups and fun ambience. A little cramped inside but otherwise no complaints.
Andrea Wu
The wait for this place is really long! The place is tiny and it's really cramped; typical Manhattan but not very comfortable. Anyway, I got the Thai iced tea and the roast pork and crab homemade egg noodle. The Thai iced tea was a tad too sweet for me but it was creamy and had pretty good Thai tea flavor. The noodles had really good flavors too. The noodles were perfectly chewy and the pork was really tender. Everything was flavorful too, including the noodles, the roast pork, and the sauce in general. Portions are average, not too big. Prices are high though; my noodles were $16 pre-tax. Service was alright, nothing too out of the ordinary.
Jane Rhree
This is one of my favorite places to go for Thai food but the place is a bit small and crowded. If you go I recommend the curry puffs, pad Thai, and the Thai iced tea! They let you adjust the spiciness on your food orders which is great! My friend got the jungle curry fried rice with chicken and loved it as well.
Louise Edler
The price is higher than when I visited them last time in 2018 and the dish I had at the time is disappearing from the menu. Try to recall the memory I had with this place but end up with unable to do that. The servers are kind but they are not around when I want to ask for chopsticks so I have to stick with the fork. The dish I had is simple and nicely cooked but not with satisfactory portion.
Brian Kim
This was my first visit here since the pandemic started, but it's just as good as i remember (i.e., Thai food that's more on the authentic side plus friendly service). For those still erring on the side of outdoor seating, they have a good amount of tables both on the sidewalk and across the bike lane in a covered, open-air structure.
Terence D
The food was very delicious and the servings were large enough that we had to bring some food for to go. I highly recommend their pad thai
Simeon Niles
Amazing food, drinks and service.
Laith Elkurd
Decent Thai food, thankfully it lacks the over reliance on cloyingly sweet sauces that American Thai food is known for. The food was fresh and hot but the flavors were forgettable and the portions small for the style of restaurant. Experience overall was lacking. Perhaps it was an off night (which shouldn’t happen for esteemed places) but I would give it another try
Sasha Abramson
Worth the hype by far. Hand pulled noodles really are better. The waiters were more than accommodating. Try the lychee sangria!
Elf Wyatt
We two arrived about 9pm. Pure Thai is a typical NYC restaurant which would fit in a 60-foot x 12-foot trailer: cramped. But the place was full with a couple parties in front us. 15 minutes later we were seated, having used the time to look at the menu. We were seated at a table with some other guests, but they were quite friendly. We selected two appetizers and two different dinners. All the food was absolutely delicious, spicy and plenty of flavor. The service was flawless, quick, friendly and attentive.
Some of the other reviews here have criticized the service or the food - I can't help but wonder if they are reviewing the correct restaurant or bogus, because our experience was that Pure Thai was the most enjoyable meal of our trip to NYC and possibly the best Thai we've eaten anywhere. The prices seemed fairly reasonable, the food was great and the people quite friendly. I'll return there again, given the chance, on my next trip to NYC for sure.
Matt Ortolani
This place had amazing food. I came here for a quick meeting that turned into a long lunch with a great friend of mine and we had a blast. Super authentic food super authentic location in typical New York city type of dining with international cuisine.
Definitely would recommend definitely would say park around the corner because this place is worth it
Make sure to try out a few different dishes and the chicken wings, they were fantastic and in excellent excellent excellent appetizer
They were quick to seat us quick to serve and we had an excellent time. Thank you very much
Mohsin Saber
Great food. Great price. Will definitely eat here again.
Blakely Johnson
So good! This was one of the best restaurants we went to while in NYC. Our group tried a variety of appetizers, drinks, and entrees. Everything was excellent. The chicken curry puffs were my favorite of the appetizers. The Thai coffee is great, and I had the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle) which was spicy and delicious. Definitely would go back.
Jacqueline Arisumi
Waiter was very nice and the food tasted amazing. The sticky rice served with pumpkin was amazing.
Rahul R
The place is a little cramped but their service was very warm. We waited for about 20 mins before we could get a table for two. Loved the fried chicken wings for appetizer. We had the wok basil chicken and the fried rice with lump crab meat. The basil chicken was amazing with chicken in it. The fried rice was a little oily but tasted really good. Overall an amazing experience.
TT ND
One of the best Thai restaurants in the city. If you love Thai food and noodles, this is a must. My husband is so in love with one of the noodle dishes, he just ordered two portions of it. It’s that good. A must try if you are in the neighborhood.
The only downside is that this is no longer a hidden gem so the wait can be very long...I think it’s time for an expansion Thai Pure Cookhouse!
Diana Masters
Really attentive and great staff, food was amazing and reasonably priced.
Steve Jones
Lovely atmosphere, and friendly service. I found our starters (satay and chicken curry puffs) to be more flavoursome than the main course of wok ginger curry with calamari - the sauce was a bit bland and had no heat or much aromatic stuff going on. However, it was still tasty and all the ingredients were succulent and fresh.
Veronica Bonilla
We ate outside and it was very comfortable. The new outdoor area is great but be very careful of the bike lane that's in between. The service was average and the food pretty good
TM
Used to be my favorite Thai in the city, because they used a decent amount of spice and flavor in their noodles. Downgraded to four stars because the most recent takeout I received was relatively bland. :(
Shivaun M
I ordered food on Monday and wi be going back today Friday. I had Pad See EW with chicken, spicy. I ordered in person, it was a 15 min wait, the staff was very friendly, the food was great. Its a bit pricey but was a large portion and i was more than satisfied.
Marie Claire
I loved this place!
Got the curry puffs to start and they were really good.
I got the Sukhothai Pork Noodles Soup which was awesome!
Service was excellent, I had a couple of the Thai beers which were great as well.
Everything looked so good here, I was tempted to get more but we were so full by the time we were done.
It is a very small place though so you will probably have to wait. They take your name and number and call you when your table is ready. We just went to the bar next door, so it worked out well for us.
Voravong Nachampassak
Pad See Eu is the best I've had on this side of town. Really happy they expanded their restaurant to accommodate more seating. Boat Noodles are my second favorite dish. Best Thai in the neighborhood as well!
Luca Carraro
Depth of flavour unparalleled by other Thai places in hells kitchen. It's already my new favourite. The tamarind shrimp dish with side rice was so flavourful. I wanna try the rest of the menu as soon as I can! It's a cozy restaurant with few seats so you might have to wait a bit.
Michael Miller
Best Thai food in HK; might be best in the city?!
I could easily eat here 2-3x's a week. The staff always works so hard and is warm, friendly and welcoming. Check out the amazingly yummy specials!
Antonio Fortes
A hidden gem. Well maybe not that hidden since it is on several top 10s. Still it will not disappoint assuming you get there early enough to get a table. The crowd is also very friendly, our neighbours even let me try their pad Thai.
The dishes are authentic and amazing. The prices also won't set you back on your rental payment. Highly recommended.
Guha Arunkumar
Pad Me Bo-Lan was great!! Always a wait. Get the Thai iced tea too!
Martin Blais
Simply my favorite Thai restaurant in that part of town (and there are many). The food is authentic. The problem is that it's so busy it's really difficult to get a table, normally the wait is such that we try end up going somewhere else nearby, unfortunately. I'm so happy when we can get a table there, as the food is quite good and spicy. Also, not too pricey. (The one thing I find a bit difficult is the low seating on these little metal chairs, it's hard on my back.)

Pure Thai is by far the best Thai food in NYC. Creative, authentic, and downright delicious, Pure Thai Cookhouse delivers an explosion of exotic Southeast Asian flavor with phenomenal customer service.
Whether ordering delivery or dining, I am always satisfied with me experience. The restaurant atmosphere is characterized by authentic Thai decor and music coupled with hard-working, friendly waitstaff.
Order anything on the menu. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent food. Pure Thai is a very small place with limited seating; be prepared to wait. There have been numerous times I would instead, order for takeout and schlep back to my place in Gramercy Park. It's a distance, but I always play mind games with myself, telling myself I've already burned the calories I'm about to consume. The chicken curry puffs are so good! Even though I always tell them not to include the cucumber salad (I hate vinegar stuff), they always add it...oh well...the curry puffs are so good...I usually toss the cucumber stuff in the trash on my way home...don't want it leaking. The spicy basil chicken is probably my favorite entree. The chicken satay is delicious! I've always experienced good service the times I've dined-in and ordered take-out.

AMAZING. Small seating area so we had to wait about fifteen minutes (not bad!) but excellent service; fastest I have ever witnessed! Within less than ten minutes of ordering, everyone in my party of four had their entrees. Food was very flavorful, and portion sizes were absolutely perfect. Food was very well priced for the portion.

The environment here feels very homey. It made me feel relaxed and at home. The smells of the restaurant will starve you while you wait for your food.
They could definitely change the waiting area because its right beneath the coat hangers.
The food here is well priced. None of it comes too spicy. Instead you can over spice it yourself! Wouldn't recommend going with a large party. Groups of 4 would do well but any larger and the wait will be long.

This place is great. Super authentic Thai food. I was a little scared about the heat levels so went with medium spicy. If I have an opportunity to go back here, i will definitely go with spicy next time. Great ambiance, prompt service and solid food. Definitely recommend.

Tl;dr Please visit. Friendly , attentive staff, amazing appetizers, technically perfect noodles. ORDER THE GREEN PAPAYA SALAD. And finish with a Thai coffee :)
To the review...
We visited on a cold and wet Monday evening, and this joint was packed (with a wait as we left). We were sat immediately, with smiles from the open front kitchen, host, and servers. We had the Green Papaya Salad, Beef Buns, and Chicken curry Puffs for "Snacks." The first thing down was the green papaya salad. This was AMAZING. Delightfully spicy, a little funky, and a complete textural marvel. Don't be afraid traditional Asian ingredients like dried shrimp! Up second, the beef buns were sweet, sticky, savory. Everything you would want. As soon as the buns arrived, our server appeared with extra napkins and a wet nap. She knew the buns would make a mess on our hands and anticipated- I LOVE it. Thirdly, the curry chicken Puffs full edge to edge with chicken and perfectly golden brown. Served with a delicious cucumber condiment. These were our third favorite snack, and they were amazing. We shared a shrimp pad Thai. Delicious wok fried noodles completely enrobed in sauce, but not in excess, and more dried shrimp! The full size shrimp we're not really treated at all, just plain shrimp, so they didn't pack a ton of flavor. They were nice for more texture with the peanuts. I finished with a Thai coffee: iced coffee that was sweet, creamy, and still intensely coffee flavored. I wanted a second. We enjoyed beers with our meal and they were never empty. The dining room reminded us of Barcelona, where you almost sit shoulder to shoulder with other guests- we didn't mind. We have already recommended Pure Thai to friends, will continue to do so, and we'll be back ourselves 100%.

Went with family and we all enjoyed the food. Was my mothers first time eating Thai and the staff were very friendly to steer her with a recommendation. I had Pad Thai Shrimp and everyone agreed it was the best plate. For Appetizer we had dumplings and they were great.

The food here is delicious! I ordered the vegetable dumplings and pad see ewe with beef and I completely cleaned my plate. This is definitely the best Thai food that they offer in the area. The service is friendly and quick, too. It's become my go-to Thai place.

This is our to-go place for Thai food in Nuc. The ratio quality/price ratio is super high! Highly recommended.

This is the best thai you can get in NYC, hands down. I've been to many many thai places. There are thousands in NYC. But, I always come back to Pure! It is always consistently delicious. I have yet to go to Thailand, but I don't know how much better it can get.

I like this place for tasty Thai food in Hell's kitchen. They make very flavorful soups. Today, I had the Pork Noodle soup with flat wide rice noodles. It came with lots of crispy pork rinds on top and slices of roast pork. I love the flavor bursts from the dried shrimp and the peanuts. The soup was just a little sweet for me. I never had a bad dish here.

Awesome SF foodie spot! I highly recommend the fresh oysters, the best I've had in the city! There's a great patio (that has heat lamps because this is SF after all) that you can hang out on and take your time enjoying the amazing experience! There's a great low-key bar in the back with limited seating, but usually turns over pretty quickly. The food is always excellent as is the service. Make reservations just incase.

This is a hidden gem. It's always busy, they don't take reservations but everyone always waits the 45 minutes or so to get seated. The restaurant itself is pretty much a hall way, everyone is crammed together inside this little place. The food is amazing! Get the vegetable dumplings and you won't be disappointed!

Extra ordinary Thai restaurant in extra ordinary city! The interior decor is very nice and unique, and the dishes served are hearty and delicious. The wait line (I heard) could be quite long, so you might want to call them in advance. Also, the place is very nice and cute, but pretty small, so might not be an ideal location to meet for a larger group of people.

Closest thing to Thailand on this side of world. The dry noodles with pork had generous piece of fresh crab. The fried chicken wings were nice and crisp with a side of sweet chilli sauce. The only thing I wasn't too crazy about were the ribs. It wasn't bad at all, but the flavor got tiring after eating so many of them. Over all this place is authentic and delicious. Would definitely come back.

We were warned about long wait times so we walked in, made a reservation and were texted when it was available (45-60 mins) which was a great service.
The food was amazing! We ordered chicken Pad Thai and wet hand-made made noodles with crab and pork. The place is small but the service was quick and attentive. Be warned you'll be sitting close to other patrons, if this bothers you.

Just two blocks from the theatre district - this little Thai restaurant is great.

Good Thai food obviously made with fresh products. Quite a small place, but when I went there it was crammed! Pre-ordered the food by phone, it was ready in a quarter of an hour. The staff was efficient and helpful. They have a specialty of home made noodle that are well worth it.
