Reviews of Willie's Chicken Shack
Willie's Chicke Shack was next door to the hotel said I was gone check it out. The atmosphere is on point. Good music, open concept, and chicken was 🔥🔥. Probably best seasoned chicken I've tasted on my trip. Wings/chicken are around/under $15, fries went for about $6, and they have daiquiri type drinks with souvenir about $15. All meals are made to order so you will have to wait.
Even thought it's an open concept they did mandate mask upon entering and ordering. Staff were great and dancing. As if they just liked working there. 💯
My friends and I were taking a walk down Canal street and Daiquiri and this place did not disappoint. We were able to get both and the chicken was excellent with the right amount of spice like the chicken fingers and wings. The Daiquiris were more than expected. The cashier and the person that brought us our food were both nice and made it an experience that will be well with us coming back.
We went twice to this place during our stay. Best fried chicken in town! Crispy, light and spicy batter. The girl that works there was so nice too. Really recommend that place!
I went to one of the 5000 Willy‘s in the French quarter. It seems like a tourist trap staple so of course I had to give it a try at least once.
The chicken was good. Good flavor. I am not sure I agree with their sign that said so good makes you wanna smack your mama. It was not that good. Not smack your mama good, but still good.
For a quick meal it is not bad. If you are new to the area and you are looking for authentic Cajun, I would certainly go to a dining restaurant for more authentic experience.
Now for the drinks. The machines, as you see in the photo, clearly state Bacardi 151. I asked the cashier about it. The cashier said all of the drinks are made with Bacardi 151, premixed. Unfortunately that cannot be true as Bacardi 151 has been discontinued since 2016. The product is simply not made anymore. He offered an extra shot to go into the drink, but it’s funny how the extra shot was not 151. If you’re going to add an extra shot, would it make sense to add an extra shot of the same alcohol? Again, they can’t because it is discontinued.
Alcohol aside, the drink was flavorful.
I was so looking forward to eating here on my recent trip to New Orleans. The food was good but not as amazing as I remember it being. Service was fast and the employees were friendly. I was a little intrigued that they advertise daiquiris made with Bacardi 151, especially since Bacardi 151 was discontinued 6 years ago. So I’m not sure how accurate these statements are, but the Hurricane slushy was good.
I ordered the Cajun catfish and it was fantastic. My wife and daughter ordered fried chicken and chicken strips. After trying the chicken, I wished I had ordered chicken. Nothing wrong with the catfish but damn that chicken was good.
Had a taste test of three chicken spots (Popeyes, Voodo, and Willies) our absolute favorite was Willie’s!! Almost tasted like they pickle brined the chicken before frying it was delicious! Crispy outside, moist and tender inside with pockets of flavor and perfectly seasoned! 5 stars!! Biscuits came with our order and they were perfectly cooked! Thanks Willies for the best fried chicken I’ve had!!
I've always enjoyed some good chicken. The last time I was here I went to brother's Chicken and I figured this time I will try Willie's chicken which was actually good. The staff was good except one young lady who I asked to wipe the table off because they were so busy and haven't had time to wipe the table off. She replied to me that she did not speak English. Little did she know I speak Spanish so I asked her again politely in Spanish and she had a small attitude aside for that. Everyone else were great. The food was nice hot. The chicken was juicy. I do recommend, although I did not get a daiquiri from here the next time I visit because I do frequent at least once a year. I'm definitely going to try one and do recommend you come through for the chicken. There's nothing like hot chicken out the grease. Ready to eat.
Nothing like southern hospitality.. is that what they are saying?!? Chicken is anywhere in NOLA is really good....
Late night chicken!
They only had tenders left and Dr Pepper / coke. The later you go the more limited selection of items. But it was hot and delicious at 1am!
They have multiple locations throughout Canal Street and all of them seem to be popular. They make food to order so it isn't quick, but it's worth the wait. The food was good but daiquiris can be found cheaper in other places nearby, so I would keep that in mind for next time. You do have to be careful walking around in there though because all of the frying oil causes the floor to be VERY slippery. I had to help an older lady get to her table because she was slipping and sliding around.
Just landed and we wanted a bite to eat. The chicken was big and hot but the fries were old, limp and not crispy. The biscuit looked buttered down but it was dry and had an old taste. The jambalaya was dry and had old dry pieces of chicken breast mixed inside the bland tasting rice. We were a bit disappointed even after asking for fresh everything because we wanted the best experience. I even tipped the cashier. I spent $28 and only ate a 4 piece and trashed the fries, biscuit and jambalaya. Overall, the chicken in my opinion is better than Popeyes, yep I said it!..everything else is trash. 10/2022. canal st location.
Late night chicken with the worlds best biscuits and a chicken fried to perfection!
Another great, just stop in to eat, place as we were walking Canal Street last night. First off, don't let the place fool you, it is just as it states "a shack", but the food and drink are well worth the stop. Also, a great place to people watch while you are eating. Willie's advertises "strong" frozen daiquiris and they are. Great size and delicious. We had a Hurricane and Pina Colada both made with Bacardi Rum 151. We also got the 4 piece mixed Chicken combo and the Catfish combo. Both combos came with fries and a awesome favored biscuits. The chicken and fish were cooked perfectly and the chicken was actually juicy inside. This place definitely exceed our expectations.
Cross between Bojangles and Churches chicken in Ga. Pretty good. And yes u can buy a daiquiris
When we walked in an overweight girl was giving an overweight guy a lap dance. That was the first sign of good things to come. Delicious chicken, fries, and an admirable assortment of alcoholic slushies that were yummy.
This chicken was out of this world good. Made fresh to order. So flavorful and crispy! Melt in your mouth biscuits. Don’t usually think of fried chicken when visiting Nola, but you’ve gotta get this for an inexpensive meal while you’re here!
Heard it’s famous and love the decoration.
Chicken is made to order, still super hot when served.
Several kinds of sauce to choose from.
Taser is not bad, but not super impressive. It’s nice to try, and some pieces are huge.
Was in search of something to eat willies was open and the food smelled delicious asked Tyrone how it was he said it’s the best I found out for my self he wasn’t lying the service was great food was hot & fresh them biscuits oh lawd the best but don’t believe me check them out for yourself you want be disappointed you can bet that overall the experience me and my crew had was 10+ stars
The chicken tenders were absolutely yummy; in fact because they were so good, I wish I had gotten the regular fried chicken, which I'm guessing would be even better. However, despite the delicious food, the pricing was too high in my opinion. I'm sure this has everything to do with the location, and I don't begrudge the establishment for pricing up to what people are willing to pay, but I would hesitate to come here again due to that (or I would at least order much more carefully).
The fried chicken is so tasty and juicy. Highly recommended if you pass thought here
What can I say? Willie's is the best fried chicken I have ever eaten, and I have had fried chicken all over the world! Cheese fries are must side! And you have to try their Cocktails!!! Do it! Do it!
OK Pizza. Open concept. Clean bathrooms. Great tasting drinks. Amazing pepperoni pizza.
Definitely deserves the name "New Orleans Most Famous Fried Chicken"! We had 2 orders of the 5 pc tenders with fries and a side of jambalaya to share. The wait was a little longer than desired, but it was Halloween night and there was a Saints game in town bringing in more business. But despite this, the food came out piping hot! Just the way I like it. The tenders and fries were perfectly seasoned and the biscuit had a soft, moist texture that came with what tasted like some kind of honey butter on top. The jambalaya was decent, it seems like something they just have ready to order, unlike the chicken and fries. Also, if you are the type of person who enjoys sauce with your tenders or chicken make sure you ask for extra because they are a little stingy with them. However, the tenders were very juicy straight from the fryer. They also have as many ketchup and hot sauce packets you desire near the soda machine. Also there was a 4% upcharge for the use of a credit/debit card, so it's better to bring cash if you can.
The chicken was fried to golden perfect. Now the biscuit is somethin created by angels themselves (mild exaggeration) the honey drizzle was just the right amount. Biscuits were made fresh and come out warm so you are literally eatin a slice of joy with honey. The COCKtail was pretty good too. Memorable moment for me was the delicious biscuits...
I wouldn’t have normally eaten here, but was with a family member who wanted to give it a try. I finally decided to go in and see what it was about. First, the prices are crazy expensive. $11 for a 2 piece meal?!? Plus, they won’t let you buy additional pieces of chicken a la carte. With that said, the food came out very hot. I personally thought my chicken could have been fried longer AND it was too greasy. The biscuits are amazing though. I doubt I’ll ever return because the chicken is soooo much better at Gus’s Fried Chicken.
Excellent and plentiful. The service is fast as hell. It was crowded because it was holiday.
Convenient, fresh, hot and tasty! I would've given 5 stars but the biscuit was hard lol. Other than that it's definitely a must try. @simplymade83 on IG ,flow and see where I go next! There are so many here in New Orleans. @canalstreet location
Perfect late night snack. Chicken is tender. Dipping sauce is awesome but thick and difficult to get out of the squeeze bottle.
I literally think about these chicken tenders on a daily basis. Exactly what I wanted to try when I was in Louisiana. Yes, I'm sure there are higher quality chicken tenders out there, but these were crispy and delicious, and amazing with the special sauce on them. Highly recommend.
It's loud, it's crowded, it's the best chicken in New Orleans. And, those biscuits, oh my! Do yourself a favor and just order a couple more when you first go in. Because if you don't you're going to be waiting in that long line again, as you go to get more, trust me. The jambalaya was spot on, and such great flavor.
Too much hype. Average chicken. KFC has a better taste. Overall I liked it but won't return.
Love the atmosphere and fries:))
For a local chain restaurant, they have the BEST chicken I have ever had. What tops the chicken? The biscuits that come with your meal. OMG! It melted in my mouth each time I went here. **CAUTION** IF you decide to have too much to drink and want a late night dinner, do NOT, I repeat, Do NOT get the 20 piece chicken meal. It was so delicious I ordered more than I could eat. They're addicting !
I'm not fan of fried food but this place is good
Tasty chicken, modern design & great music but lackluster customer service. The lady who took our order didn't seem happy doing her job hence I am giving this resto a 3!
Good chicken but it wasn’t great..it tasted like any other chicken..if you are hungry that’s the place to eat and take a break(it was the only place serving food)..I got a COCKtail and try all the different flavors..!! They let me get all of them in one 😊 …
Great customer service and friendly staff.
And the chicken, was sooooo good and big drinks.
With out a doubt best chicken ever,.. was my 1st time visiting New Orleans and place was referred by friends and I was not disappointed. The staff is very friendly, the chicken is delicious, biscuits are amazing and the variety of frozen alcohol beverages are great. There are different locations around Bourbon St and experience would be the same.. Definitely recommend.
We popped in here for a quick dinner and all loved the food! Such great chicken! And the biscuits! Easy, fast meal. Only complaint is that they don’t have them back home! Can’t wait to eat here again
Surprisingly good fast food chicken. I didn't have one of their enormous daiquiri drinks though.
Tasty crispy fresh chicken!
Popeyes has more flavor. The food was good still but VERY expensive. Chicken combo with no drink and you can’t switch out sides. Food was hot. Chicken was juicy. Tables need a wipe down. Super greasy.
$25 for three wings, red beans and rice with a diet coke was a bit pricey for fast food but I excused that because it was the French Quarter. The salt content though was a bit much. Reasonable food but overpriced.
I would have never thought to get Chicken while on vacation in NOLA, but I did and it was so delicious! Like a mixture of Popeyes meets mama's home cooking! That biscuit has just the right amount of honey to keep it from being dry and choking you to death! This is a staple I will visit every time I'm in town! Also, be sure to get the jolly rancher daiquiri while you're there! It's so tasty and enough alcohol to pack a punch!
My main issue with this place is they specifically say that it's Bacardi 151. That's been discontinued since 2016.
The BEST CHICKEN I've ever had!!! You won't regret coming to Willie's I promise you! Evey single thing we had here was AMAZING!
The chicken was SO good! Crisp crust, moist, flavorful meat and delicious sauces. The drinks were expensive but strong. Would definitely return when I get tired of seafood.
Foods great especially if you need hangover healing. Depending on the night and, I guess, what the servers have been through befor you, it's decent service. I do not envy the customers the servers have to work with but they can come off as aggressive and angry... I can't remember how the drinks are but the food is good.
Chicken and biscuits are really good. Staff was super. Gunshots rang out so we left. This city is disgusting.
I got a six piece wings with the Willies sauce. My chicken was fresh and piping hot . The Willies sauce was a great addition . A 2 minute walk from my hotel
Could just be that I'm not from down south, but this fried chicken was amazing. Became an end of night staple during our trip. The fact they also sold daquiris just made it better
Tasty chicken wings. I asked for a Pina colada ice drink and im. 27 and I look about 30 the lady nearly didn't serve me. Which annoyed me so it loses 2 stars. Would go back.
Great place for a quick bite. I was amazed how good the chicken and fish were!
The chicken was moist and flavorful and went great with their Honey-Mustard sauce. The fish wasn't greasy and so tasty that I didn't use tartar sauce
We went to the restaurant on Canal. Very clean. Murals on the walls were cool to look at. Bathroom was for patrons and decent.
Some of the best fried chicken I have eaten. Well worth a trip.
Had fun in New Orleans, and worked up quite an appetite. Willie's Chicken hit the spot! It took a little while to get through the line, but it was worth the wait.
It’s different with other chicken in the New England area. Worth to try.
Best fried chicken ever! Hands down!! Fire 🔥🔥
I eat here every time I'm in New Orleans. Great late night food 😋
Food was good, staff was nice. Location was clean
It's pretty safe to say that Willies chicken is a staple on Canal st... Although the prices are not budget friendly the chicken is memorable. With an open bar style look... It'll begin to look like a tail gate party in record speed! The staff is quick and efcient with orders of food and drink.. Located down the street from the casino in one direction and down the street from Burobon in the other... This is a nice visit while in New Orleans!
can give other chicken places a run for their money. Great food, drinks, and to chill
This is possibly the best fried chicken I have ever eaten. I work with an airline, and I specifically arrange my schedule so that I have the occasional opportunity to fly through NOLA just to pick some up. Tender, juicy, well-seasoned but no heat. I like spicy, but sometimes no heat can be just as good. If you are visiting and have never tried this, hit one of the many locations in town. It's all the same recipe, and you will NOT be sorry.
Pretty good but prices are ridiculous. Also you can't mix and match. I was told you had to order as is
Delicious fall of the bone fried chicken, moist and delicious catfish. Biscuit needed nothing as the fries were good too.
The drinks are the absolute bomb. But the food not so much. My daughters said Popeyes is better and I have to agree. The jambalaya was dry and lacked flavor. I guess if you're drunk enough everything tastes good. Don't forget to ask for sauces to go with your chicken and those are charged for too.
Most definitely a place to visit if you are a tourist. The drink was tasty and the biscuits are the BEST. They are so buttery and just completely melts in your mouth it's wonderful. It's kind of a cramped space to sit and dine and they bathroom was horrible like it doesn't get cleaned through the day but I just needed to wash my hands to eat that was all. Other than the long waited line and bathroom, I would definitely visit this place again.
Reasonable pricing , excellent food and service , real southern feel , would reccomend to visitors of the city & the south
A bit pricey, but the food was good
Great chicken and amazing biscuits!
We got there just as place was opening, it reminded me of any of the fast food chicken joints. Chicken is heavily breaded, a little greasy but decent taste. Fry's were ok and there is a bar if you are so inclined. They also have some seating. It apparently is a local chain with six locations or so.
Went in after a good night on Bourbon and Frenchman Street. Memory of the experience isn't that lucid, but I'm assuming it did the job.
Delicious chicken and food and friendly service. Will definitely come again if I get a chance!
I’m from Chicago and this was my first time eating there.
My order was wrong .
I called to have it corrected.
I can’t remember the young man’s name who answered the phone I think it was Juan?
He went above and beyond the duty to make things right.
The food was so good I couldn’t believe it!
I highly recommend eating there.
I had the seafood platter and a catfish dinner with red beans and rice.
All I can say is Oh! 😂
Great fried chicken, good selection of draft beers
The BEST fried chicken I ever had in life( sorry mom) no sauce needed
Willie's seem ubiquitous in the Quarter. We passed about 4 of them walking this afternoon. The decor is not the attraction- just a counter and some benches to sit on while you wait. The chicken was excellent. Plump, juicy and well-seasoned. I like hot chicken and was happy; she hates hot chicken and was happy.
Unfortunately, the COVID meant the dacquiri machined were shut down. You can still drink in the street, but to go cups are prohibited. Overall a good experience.
Omg! The catfish was delicious. My family also enjoyed the jambalaya, chicken wings, fries, and daiquiri. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, and the location was convenient!
When you're running around New Orleans and get a hankering for some chicken, this is the place. Several locations around the French Quarter, and not just chicken. Separate restaurants do a big pizza slice, but still a Willie's franchise.
But I'm getting off-track. I like thick crust chicken, and this place makes it that way, plus a mild spice to boot! As with all Willie's, they also serve daiquiri drinks ; multiple flavors, with an extra shot if you like. People complain about their drink costs, but EVERY place in New Orleans is charging a lot for their drinks, so nothing new here.
If you want to get out of there cheaply, order the large chicken meal and split it among two people, plenty to go around. Flavorful, crunchy, and BIG pieces.
Best damn chicken EVER! Good eats'n drinks
The chicken is excellent, but be prepared to wait. It's also a pretty penny. 6 wings and a biscuit was $12. You decide. We bought them and they were good.
Best wings I've had, maybe ever. Lots of sauces on the tables to try. I got the mango slush and it was very tasty and strong. The biscuit was... Amazingly good! I wish I'd gotten a couple more of them instead of fries even though the fries were very good too.
Husband says it's the best chicken he's had...wishes they were in TX! great mixed drinks...loved the fries and biscuits. Great experience all around
Took a while for catfish but that and fries were served HOT! An obvious tourist attraction and they are taking advantage of it, monetarily! A little bit pricey but it is an experience.
So MANY Willies!!! Big, small, working, not!!! It was a Willie celebration to end all celebrations. It was a cabaret up in here. Yes indeedie, sho yo right.
Second time there and it was great both times! Fresh food, great service, good drinks!
Great chicken. Really moist and delicious. The 3 is due to the order being all wrong. They ran out of fish and hot sauce so 1/3 of the menu wasn't available. I ordered hot wings and got fried chicken wings. But still good food.
Double check your order to what you want before you leave the order line.
Local favorite. Now I know why. Just daumn good chicken.
The absolute *best* fried chicken I have EVER had. The place isn't much and I understand there is normally a line but we lucked out I guess because it was raining. Anyway, service was decent and the place is clean, but nothing special. Don't get me wrong this place is special and a staple in NOLA. Did I mention the best !FRIED CHICKEN! you'll never have!? The Mac n cheese was also amazing as well as the sweet potatoes.
***Highly recommend!***
This was my first time experiencing Willie's and it was due to the long lines that I normally witnessed when coming to New Orleans. This time I decided to wait in the long line and I was not disappointed the chicken taste like God himself cooked it. Such a wonderful blend if freshness and spices. Will definitely be back to eat again the next time I visit!!
Just happened to be walking from the hotel and spotted this place nearby. Figured we would try it. The gumbo was very good! The feied chicken was good, just small pieces. It had a good flavor. A little pricey, but to be expected for such a tourist area.
It totally hits the spot when you need some tasty chicken and sides. I work late and I appreciate that they do, too. It's a good stop when I get off of work. Sometimes it's really busy and the line is long, but when you get up to the counter, the great service makes up for the wait, and food and drinks come up quickly. Despite its proximity to Quarter bars, the place is clean at all hours (including the bathrooms!). Thanks, Willie's!
Food was decent but way overpriced for the portion. $12.12 for a 3 piece without a drink and 1 side (about 10 French fries). I am a fried chicken connoisseur and there is much better for half the price. With that said, I was not dissatisfied with the meal but I was not blown away either.
Food was excellent, however wait time was a little excessive. Biscuits similar to Churches, fries comparable to Popeyes, fried chicken is beyond KFC. Would have been 5star!
Good chicken tenders and biscuits! I also liked the artwork on the walls. We tried the hurricane slush and it was definitely strong. Nice lunch here, overall!
Me and my friends coming from Florida passed on a quick bite at their Popeyes. We wanted fried chicken but something not in Florida. Willie's was everywhere and quick. The staff was friendly but the food was horrible. I threw part of mine away ... and I don't throw out good. The beans and rice was really good though.
If you are craving fried chicken with fries and don't want to continue looking for food down nearby Bourbon St., look no further than Willie's. The chicken is good, but I'm not too sure it can be a contender for the best fried chicken in New Orleans. But the biscuits-- they are complete buttery goodness and I can't get enough.
This location is loud and crowded, especially when the nightlife starts picking up, but it's extremely close to Bourbon St. which is likely very convenient for you.
My brother recommended this place for lunch, because it's a New Orleans only type of place. Very clean sitting room, but I didn't check out the bathrooms. Fast service. Decently priced. The menu was larger than I expected when you consider all of the sides they offer. And the daiquiri selection was on point. They'll give you samples too!
First time visit to New Orleans from North Carolina. Just happened into Willies for the flavor of NO. It was delicious! Now we can cook in NC but the biscuits at Willies are the best I ever had. Slap Yo Mama good. The chicken is awesome. Had the Cajun sweet and sour. If you miss eating at Willies then you’ve missed some good flavor of New Orleans!!
We all, absolutely, loved Willie's fried chicken!!! The staff was vey friendly! Fun atmosphere, and did I mention that they have some of the best fried chicken we've ever had. Can't forget the melt in your mouth honey biscuits!!
It was great! Very good and very tasty. The atmosphere was good as well. I had the chicken wing combo. I will say that the price compliments the taste.
Great Food Great Music Great Customer Service Great Location Warm Welcoming Environment Lots Of Culture Can't Say Enough Great Things About How Good The Food Is And I Think We Were speaking With The Owner He Is A Great Guy And The Cook Makes Everything Fresh .... Haven't Had a Meal That Good From Restaurants Who's Food Cost triple the price of what you pay here. Great Place To Eat
Needs better service. Food not always on point.
Best fried chicken ever! I means I love fried chicken but this was so juicy and fresh....it's made right in front of you, so it not like is there getting cold for a while. Biscuits are delicious with that honey flavor.
I want to love Willie's. That being said while it's good and does it's job I feel that it's overpriced for what it is and I never leave feeling like I can't wait to go back.cooked to order the chicken is good. I do love the selection of sauces. Also worth noting, if your card does not have a chip they cannot take it.
Food is good just don't expect prices to stay the same during any type of event.
My husband ran in while I was in line at Starbucks. He came back with 2 chicken breasts, a biscuit, and rice for $10. Well, I doubt one of the pieces counted as a whole piece, it was the smallest breast I've probably seen, but delicious none the less. Light, crispy, and NOT soaked in grease. Excellent fried chicken!
Our chicken came out screamin hot and the drinks were good. The Chicken totally hit the spot!
I tried the chicken strips. They were good. I'm not much of a get person but I didn't really like the fries. The biscuit was delicious though. Sweet bread. The seats were hard.
Interesting concept! Wet Willie's and a Chicken chic produced this one. Drinks were decent, price of chicken was overated but atmosphere was everything!
Very limited menu, but the chicken was decent. The honey butter biscuits were the best part. It was very hot in there, with the doors wide open, and flies were everywhere.
The chicken was good fries not so good and the biscuit not at all good would I go back yeah but only for the chicken
This place hit the spot! Even though there was a bit of a line around midnight once the streets got crowded after the Essence Fest concert was over, they served us with a quickness & good old southern hospitality. I would love to try the daiquiri's next time.
Chicken was amazing ☺️😋 along with the great drinks
Lively atmosphere! Great drinks! HOT food, love the fish! This location has the best biscuits with the right amount of honey!
Chicken was very good. Especially when you out walking around and partying. Right on time.
On our visit to New Orleans we stopped in to see what the hype was about. We got the 2pc white chicken meal, the catfish meal, and the hurricane frozen drinks. The fish was very fresh, the fries were good, the wing in the 2pc was good but the breast meat was fried a little too hard. The biscuits were not it at all. Perhaps when I visit N.O again I'll come in early in the day and see if that makes a difference.
I don't know what it is about their chicken but its really good. I'm a more of a tenders person, but my friends loved their wings and the catfish is good too! Try it if you are in the New Orleans area.
Willie's Chicken is "right in the thick of it" on Canal st located within the French Quarter you can hear their popular music down the block which energizes some of the locals to dance on the sidewalk outside. The chicken and sides are very tasty, and they are cooked up fresh. Willie's serves a variety of drinks with local appeal that many travelers drink in or take out, with or without the chicken.
Willie's is a good place to rest for a minute and gather supplies for the next adventure. It is a fun place, and popular.
This place had awesome music so we walked in very nice people! I recommend the fried chicken it was really good!! The honey biscuits are amazing!! Come try it out I also tried some of the catfish as well I would recommend it come visit here if you are traveling.
Heard great things about this place looked up the menus on there website said 4 price chicken dinner was 13.99 go to order it was 18.99 need to change there website prices the music was so loud they couldn’t even hear my order ask for silverware for three meals got one set.
Chicken tenders and fries were great. The staff was very pleasant and helpful! Warm beer cost a star. Would definitely try again!
Willie’s Chicken Shack is a place for the best fried chicken in town, and their specially made sauce is out of this world! If ever in Louisiana and you want some great fried chicken, Willie’s Chicken Shack is the go to place. Delicious Chicken! Go there, you’ll be glad you did.
7/7/18 9pm. The music was too loud, had to yell at cashier over the music to take my order. She was texting and distracted by her cell phone while at work. Chicken was very pricey. 6 wings 10.99 and fries 5.99. Food was okay. Will I come back...not sure ...
We had the frozen drinks they sell and WOW! Not only were the drinks good flavors and huge, they were strong. Typically when you purchase some premixed frozen drinks they are basically kool-aid or a slushy. These however had PLENTY of liquor in them so I can recommend on a hot day pick one up and go for the large it $2 more and much bigger.
Good drinks. Ok chicken
The best fried chicken I've ever had. I ate there twice in one day. The employees were great as as well. It is a must go if you visit NOLA
The food was great. The honey glazed biscuits, seafood platter and the traditional wings was delicious. It's a little pricey for a chicken shack but it is well worth it.
Chicken was fresh, crispy and full of flavor. The staff was friendly and although I didn't get an alcoholic beverage there are tons of slushie drinks that looked amazing!!
I've eaten here a total of three times and every single time the food has been just wonderful 😊
My friend enjoyed his chicken tenders and fries basket, the music was good as well. Kept us out of the rain for a little bit. Wasn't super busy during the day around 3pm.
I absolutely love the way they run this establishment! They offer great recommendations for your needs. The COCKtail is really worth it and the chicken is super crispy and delicious. Definitely a stop I won't forget
Ten times better than we expected! We ordered the fish basket and it was fantastic! The girls serving us were so much friendlier than most employees in NOLA. Thumbs up.
Chicken tenders were good. Had slushy alcoholic drinks like fat Tuesdays and they were really good. Slightly pricey but everything is right now since it mardi gras
YES! Best fast food fried chicken I've ever had. Open late snd they sale daquiri's too. I wish Houston had a spot like this. If we do, my bad.
Here is the quintessential American southern fast food place, complete with a daiquiri bar. I had to check it out and found the beer cold and tasty and the chicken not too bad at all
The food & drinks are Awesome!! The music being so loud where the service not being able to hear the customer is unprofessional. I'm for the music just turned it down a notch.🤗
They make the best fried chicken in new Orleans. This chicken is cooked to perfection everytime. Very very good chicken
This chicken is gud n a lil pricey n they will not mke fresh chkn until the old chicken is gone so i didnt order. My friend ordered and i tasted his. The sample of red beans n rice was yummy also.
We stopped in to Willie's spur of the moment and had no idea what to expect. It was awesome! They need more all over the country! And they must start selling their Willie sauce online! Enjoy!
Great Good Chicken!!!! Always fresh and hot never stale chicken. I went there two days in row. A lil pricey though but still really good!
This was our favourite go to when we stayed in Sheraton, French quarters. This chicken was great. We also did a take out on one of the days. Do try Willie's Chicken when you are in this area.
Tasty chicken (a little dryer than Canes but authentic), good fries, biscuit is flat, drinks are great but a little pricy
Great drinks served cold here!
The chicken was some of the best I have ever eaten. It was fried to.perfection, juicy and tasty and the biscuit was drizzled with butter and honey! It looks a little sketchy, straight up walk on in, garage doors all open, dacqueri bar is the first thing you see, high tables, loud music....just over all a typical New Orleans street place. The food was hot and fresh, bbq sauce, hot sauce, honey mustard sauce, Willie's special sauce...its all on the table and all very tasty and you just choose the ones you want. Don't pass this one by, you will not be dissapointed!
How they get it so juicy?!
Wonderful chicken, made fresh on the spot. Simple, but great food.
OMG so sooooo good. Good price for a meal be sure to grab a drink. Fresh fries, crispy and well seasoned. Dine In if you have the time.
I'm not a typical fan of fried chicken but this was delicious, with an old authentic feel.
Food was good ,love the music and atmosphere
Good food good drinks but they don't even want to give you sauce lol, and you have tourist prices.
New Orleans style Club, Pub & Grub.
Super fast service. Recommended for late night bite.
The food was actually pretty good for the price. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was not disappointed.
The biscuits were delicious.
Great chicken! I make my way over here every trip to NOLA. If you're drinking and looking for some quick fried chicken skip popeyes and make your way over to Willie's!
Great place to get chicken! Price is a bit high but that’s because you’re in downtown! DON’T FORGET TO ORDER DOZENS OF BISCUITS AFTER YOU TRY ONE. They are to die for!
Though the music is loud, the food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. Willie's special sauce is the best house sauce I've had anywhere.
late night treat after Jazz & drinks 🍹🍷🎶
Chicken was good! Lady at the front was a rude bish.... Get better help up front...
Hot and delicious. Just what we expected in southern fried chicken.
Amazing! Definitely like the in n out of New Orleans, it's a chain of fast food but the fried chicken is 💣!! And the daiquiris are cheap and strong 👌🏼 …
Drinks were excellent chicken was good but Service wasn't that great and the fries were completely soggy
Great place. Good drinks. Good food.
Best friend chicken in long time!!
Really enjoyed the chicken, just the right amount of spice. The drinks were good as well.
Soo good! Waited in line for a while but once we ordered food came right out. They were very prepared! Food was delicious and liked the vibe coming in.
I love it but they need to not over cook the rice and make sure the jambalaya doesn't dry out. Great biscuits and chicken.
This place is great for fast food. The chicken is excellent. Fast service, and lots of options. Good place for a quick bite.
Kinda expensive for chicken and fries. Taste good for late night offer but very greasy....
Good chicken. Staff were not that friendly and were slow to serve. Still fried chicken were crispy outside and moist inside. The biscuit were excellent.
Daiquiris kinda pricey but those tenders and sauces bang hard. definitely worth a try.
Great fried chicken!
I've said it before and I'll say it again you haven't been to New Orleans unless you've been to Willies and you hung out and you ate chicken and you drink beer and you bumped your head to these beats this place is awesome I can hang out here all day long and just get drunk and eat chicken doesn't get any better than that!! 🍗🐔🍻👌❤️ …
For chicken it's pretty good and the best place for daquiris in tow , however I noticed you should always go to this location on Canal street as it's food items are more extensive and choice friendly and at least a dollar cheaper than in the french quarter.
No questions asked. Best chicken I’ve had! Can we talk about the biscuits too!! Hands down, 5 stars!
Omg, that chicken was sooooo good! And so was the hurricane! Busy, but line was efficient and service was good.
Loooooooove! Everytime I'm in the city I go to Willie's. The chicken is seasoned and hot, the red beans and rice is the bomb (not sure if I rate them equal or better than Popeye's) the biscuit....chile. Get you some.
Fun stop, good food cold beer! We had both the shrimp and chicken platters. Biscuits were the best!
A can't miss!! Their chicken and sides were amazing! We'll be sure to eat here again if we return to NOLA again.
This place is really good, the chicken had flavor, best food I’ve had since I’ve been here Andrae and kye at the register were very patient and accommodating.
So I have no clue how good the chicken is. But the slushies with 151 were great. And you get a cool chicken cup.
Expensive considering only 1 sauce available and only 1 side option. Back of location was "closed" so everyone waiting on to go congregated in front with no social distancing enforced
Great food and drinks, staff also very welcoming.
Cajun fish was very good. Plus who doesn't enjoy a slush hurricane to go! Love New Orleans!
The best chicken! Love eating at Willie's chicken shack when I'm in New Orleans.. the biscuits are so so so good!
Great chicken!!! Better drinks!! Gotta love New Orleans!!
Good food and cool place.
loved the fried chicken and biscuits were sooo delicious. the shrimps below average. nice to sit near the door to see the ppl walking around
10/10 chicken!! quick grab to eat on a busy day!
Great atmosphere all the staff fun! Rice and beans are vegetarian great fries and drinks! Beers are 2 for 1 on weekdays
Chicken was good but they had no salt and pepper for the red beans and rice and it needed it. Also over priced for the portions.
Food was the most amazing my family and I have ever eaten. Workers were so amazing as well ...
Great chicken tenders. Willie needs to be a little less stingy with his house dipping sauce, though. Good stuff.
Sweet baby Jesus the biscuits at this place. I think I saw the heavens open up... I needed to order a dozen for my ride back to Texas! I swear I'd go back JUST for the bread alone.
Great chicken strips anytime of day. Their frozen drinks are not as good as others on the strip though.
The chicken was pretty good, but the biscuits!!!!! OMG I wish I could take some home for the rest of the year. They are amazing lol
My favorite chicken ever. Ladies here treated us all really well & we had a overall great experience.
Awesome!! They did away with the red beans and rice bit the chicken still DELICIOUS 😋
Open late great chicken beans and rice
Great spot. I enjoyed their fried chicken, French fries and their daiquiri.Nice atmosphere
I had to wait a good while to recieve my food my othet guess was finish with their food by the time my food came. I had better chicken
Ate here twice and I was only here for the weekend, great food and quick!
They have the best chicken I've ever tasted i cant wait to go there again one day
Chicken was not done inside and overcooked on the outside. Staff was friendly.
Yes Landry this chicken is amazing but them biscuits wheeeeeew chile
Best chicken I have eaten in New Orleans
Awesome
Limited menu but best chicken I've ever had.
Great food. Better than popeyes in my opinion!
Great hangout spot. It's basically a Popeyes with daqaris.
Several menu items were out and ketchup was the only condiment available
It took a very long time for the food to be served. Too loud rap music.
My Chicken was good but a little cold. I prefer fresh chicken. I would try this place again.
Some friendly service and the food was great. Also the daiquiri's are worth it.
Pretty good chicken, reminds me of raising canes but with bone in chicken and daiquires 😆
Love the atmosphere and food!
It's like the movie we're in the future all restaurants are taco Bell except here in New Orleans all restaurants areWillie's Chicken shack what is it going to be like 20 of them between Frenchmen Street and Bourbon Street ya'll must eat a lot of chicken
Cool location and vibe... Chicken was really good too... but it was WAY over priced in my opinion...
The best damn biscuits i have ever tasted!! Somone give Willie a hug for me please!! We need a willies chicken shack in Seattle!!
Hands down the best chicken I've had in a long time sides were great too must-try when you in New Orleans.
Chicken was bomb we loved it!!
Fast food jambalya and gumbo, it was what I should have expected, meh. Not bad it didn't impress. Guess I should have gone with the chicken...
Chicken was good but I didn't like the jambalaya.
great chicken and shrimp, good music
Great food with friendly service.
The place is packed lots of time but is more than worth the wait.
You can smell the flavor even before you taste the chicken! Excellent!!
Good drinks and music. Fresh chicken cooked to order which makes them stand out...
Best fried food to soak up alcohol. Staff could be friendlier but maybe the customers traffic is the cause.
Really good chicken!! Love the biscuits too!!
Worth taking the time to stop.
Food was good and service was definitely a place to check out. Does get crowded though
The food was good and fairly priced. The biscuits are awesome. The staff was good too.
Even though the cashier was rude.....I only said I was next after being looked over. I asked if it was cash only.....YEA!! VERY SHORT!! TOO EXPENSIVE FOR LOW GRADE SERVICE!!
Great chicken and OMG their biscuits are amazing! Really good music and atmosphere as well!
Meal was okay. Service was fine. Nothing really stood out. Interesting sauce options.
Wish you guys would open a place on the boardwalk in Atlantic City!
Greatest fried chicken in New Orleans. Can't have enough of their crispy chicken wings.
Simple but great fried chicken. Very simple menu. Great place for some real NOLA fried chicken
Very nice attitude and the food is good too. They also have great drinks.
Fantastic drink choices, cold beer, great street views. Service was quick & friendly.
If i had to compare to anything it would be Popeyes. Very laid atmosphere and they serve alcohol so even better.
One word AWESOME. Awesome food awesome staff even at 3am and dealing with a bunch of drunk bourbon street people.
Great food!! Fast service
Chicken was great for a fast food joint
The chicken was good except it tastes like burnt cooking oil.
Amazing. I had the fried catfish. So good.
Great fried chicken! The biscuit was delicious. Fries were ok.
Chicken was fresh and hot but we had to wait a while for the order.
Best fried chicken I've ever had!!! I wish there was a Willie's in Illinois.
Extra long wait due to special event in the area. Food was hot & fresh & delicious..💪💓💋 …
Delicious. No MSG. Great chicken and atmosphere. Quick service.
Best chicken ever!
Amazing place! They are always friendly & about there business. See y'all next trip to n.o.
Food delicious, 2 am or 2 pm... staff however seem to hate life
Cool place. Good pizza.
Willie's special sauce and hot sauce on chicken. What's not to love. And the biscuits make me so happy!!!
Loving my trip.. 😉 …
Food was good but i am always confused when there is a line why someone doesn't come help for a minute because they had 4 people just standing there.
Great chicken but $12 for 3 tenders is too much!!
On Mardis gras, there were only two items on the menu: chicken or fish.
Food was hot, fresh, and seasoned perfectly!!!
Had the 2 piece dark meat combo with 🍟 and 🍯 muffin. Delicious! …
Great food the biscuits amazing but make sure their fresh tho
Chicken is crunchy on the outside but moist on the inside. But I still thought it was a bit salty.
I had chicken and fries and it was to order love it
Great for a quick bite. The chicken is spicy and delicious!
Great food, fun atmosphere. Miss the Chicken now that we're home.
Great customer service and the xatdish was smackin
Good fried food. Good fun atmosphere but always busy
The Frozen Hurricane was really good, a little pricey, but really tasty.
Spectacular! Great food, great drinks!
Drinks were excellent! Service was very good....
Group loved the chicken. While in town they visited multiple times.
Yummy food cozy spot we were served right away..
The main thing that I love about our visit to New Orleans was this fried chicken.
Pretty good chicken
Great little place! Has some awesome food and drinks!
Fries and chicken were delicious and not to mention the jambalaya it was yummy
Good tastey food but small portion for the money you spend
Great food, slow service. Could be because it was midnight on the corner of bourbon street!!
Daiquiri’s are a bit overpriced to me but it was good 👍🏽 …
Hot and fresh and served as soon as I got to my table. Now that's service for ya!!!
Great food and slushy drinks, had me going back again and again.
Great food service not so friendly but great food
CHICKEN WAS SOME OF THE BEST I EVER HAD.. ITS ONE ON EVERY CORNER IT SEEMED LIKE...
OMG YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE! I maje it a point to eat this chicken every single time I visit NOLA .
Awesome F'n chicken 🐔 when you've been drinking 🍻 this is it! Mmmmm chicken 🐔! Midnight Chicken mo fo Midnight Chicken! I need Chicken! …
Great local chicken place. A must go whenever I'm in New Orleans
Could of been more spicy, tasted as of almost a white person prepared It.Which is unacceptable in New Orleans
Great place to get a good meal at 11 PM at night.
Get ready to spend some money for chicken! Sides are expensive and chicken selections start at $9.99.
Can be salty... Staff cashiers can be rude... But what else do you expect dealing with the Bourbon Street crowd...
Best fried Chicken ever. Don't miss out!
Good wings!!! Delicious!
Best fried chicken ever. Gotta work on customer 3though
Great chicken, best fast food chicken I have ever had
So good, may just be drunk but it’s banging 😋 …
Made to order and a great assortment of daiquiri drinks!
Best chicken tenders ever
Amazing food, great quick service, multiple varieties of margaritas
Amazing chicken. Helpful staff.

Possibly the best chicken tender I have ever eaten!
Best chicken tenders I gave ever had. Please open in Canads
Best fried chicken in N.O. my humble opinion.
Delicious juicy fried chicken. Staff a bit slow, therefore 4*.
Great chicken, fun atmosphere, delightful staff.
Delicious (unhealthy) food.. Been there twice after hours. The second time a mouse passed under my table...
I tried the shrimp and mac and cheese and it is ok not bad
Great food!! Great people!!! Excellent service and quick
Best fast food restuarant with fried chicken in the area
Great red beans and rice.
Seasoned just right, hot & fresh out the grease!
Delicious tender chicken. Not my favorite type of music though.
Just a wonderful place to go to and relax and eat some great food.
For fast food its decent. Great customer service.
It was very pricey was turned out to be just "okay" chicken. Wouldn't have minded if it were cheaper.
Plenty of people going in and out of this place... Quick access to a little bowl of gumbo...
had to hit up Willies and get some good food.
This is way better than Popeye's Chicken give it a try if it's near
Great food, credit card machine went down causing some frustration.
Good spot after the club. Very touristy with take away drink mugs, loud music, etc.
Great food and drinks just a touch overpriced imo
Good food and good drinks. Just a little pricey though.
The food and daiquiri was awesome. Nice, chill atmosphere.
Their chicken isn't that good for the south, but they have alcohol and are open late.
Great drinks, delicious chicken and the biscuits are heavenly!!
