A little overrated… Got here as soon as they opened on a Monday and got in as one of the first guests. Ordered the 3 piece fried chicken, chicken sandwich, macaroni and cheese and the corn bread. Chicken was very crispy and parts of it was very moist, but some parts a little dry. A solid 7.6 out of 10

I went to the original location on Saint Ann not the one showing on Google. It was grandma's spicy fried chicken to the fullest! Delicious! Great! Fantastic! You will have to wait in line but good things come to those who wait. Very fulfilling!

Good chicken and sides. I would love to have gone to the Willie Maes Scotch House, but glad I got to try this at the market. The sides were also very good. We had yams and butter beans. The chicken is fried fresh, so be prepared to wait.

Literally cannot and will not ever eat fried chicken again if its not Willie Mae’s. This location was great- food was fresh, hot & mouth watering. The staff is super nice, helpful and fun too. 10/10 will recommend and will have to come back to NOLA just for the fried chicken at Willie Mae’s

This is located inside the Phythian Market towards the back of the building. Service was terribly slow. There was literally only 1 cook in the kitchen. We came for lunch and there were 3 people ahead of us, but we waited 30 minutes for our food. Service was so slow that went and got a drink a bat 1908. The chicken sandwich was ah-mazing!! Would rate this 5 stars, but based on the slow service I rated 4. They need to hire more workers.

This place was THE BEST. Got this recommendation for what was described as the best fried chicken in New Orleans. That description was no joke. This is hands down the best fried chicken I've ever had. Crispy breading, juicy flavorful chicken. This is exactly what I think of when I crave fried chicken, but I never get anywhere else. Also ordered the candied yams to share with our group and everyone loved them. Cornbread was perfectly moist even without butter. Everyone that ordered Mac and cheese loved the flavor, but all agreed it was a little mushy. The bread pudding was recommended by the cashier since she knew it was our first time there. I never expect much from bread pudding, but this was easily the best I've ever had. Perfect texture and flavor and absolutely delicious. This is now going to be a stop on every trip to NOLA. I wish we had one in LA!

Delicious! A friend recommended Willie Mae's for their fried chicken and it was so good. It was fresh and the batter was unique and seasoned well. The mac and cheese was creamy and seasoned well too.

The St. Ann location was closed so we went to The Market location which is pretty much an office building food court. I ordered tenders and my husband ordered the fried chicken- both were excellent. Collectively we shared Mac 'n cheese, candied yams, red beans and rice and bread pudding. Would definitely come back and order everything again.

It is worth the hype! Since they make the food as fresh as possible there is likely a few minutes wait. But it’s worth it. I had the chicken, butter beans and corn bread. The chicken was crispy, yet was not dry in the least. Every bite was chalk full of flavour..so very well-seasoned. Though the chicken was great, my favourite was the buttered beans and rice. Perfectly Seasoned and packed with soo many herbs and spices. If you’re vegetarian, order a double serving and enjoy. It all was all soo good.
