Definitely the best NY style pizza in the New Orleans area. There used to be a place by the firehouse on Jefferson Highway that made really good NY style pizza and this is definitely the best place I’ve found since they closed. The meatballs are also very delicious. Whole family enjoyed the pie.

Wow!! I have not been to NY in 15 years yet when I went to The Crazy Italian for pizza a couple weeks ago, I felt like I was back in NY. They have real authentic NY pizza! Absolutely fantastic!! I brought 5 pizzas back home to Alabama for friends and family as I knew they would love it also. And, for those with very discerning tastes, the Gelato is also exceptional...straight from Italy!!

I have been living here 20+ years and always on the hunt for good pizza! It’s not as easy to come by as you’d think. But you guys nailed it!! I’ve had the pizza (different variations) and the calzones. Put me in a food coma they were so good! I’ve only ever found two other joints that were even close to Crazy Italian and they have both closed. So don’t go anywhere. ♥️🍕

Holy cow. We were visiting my mother in law and ordered here on a whim when our first choice was unavailable. DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The pizza was delicious! Like, I crave the pepperoni pizza now! We have a new order out spot when we are out that way now, for sure!

Picked up a pizza and salad last night. Got a referral abour Crazy Italian pizza from a friend. I have plenty of good pizza choices closer to home but I'm glad I decided to drive to Lakeview. Pizza was really good (ordered a meat lovers). Caprese salad as good any 5 star restaurant but served in a casual but clean neighborhood family type of place. Im sold Crazy Italian Team. From now on my pizza nights are going to be on Harrison Ave. Nicely done you crazy Italians. Earned my rare good review!

This pizza was amazing! My 3-year-old usually of my pics the cheese off the top but he ate a whole huge slice and then wanted to go back for more. That's saying something!

In my experience, the promise of a "New York Style" pizza in New Orleans is nothing more than an attempt to upsell a thin crust pizza. This was a welcome departure from that trend. I will have to try them again before saying they were the best I've had in the city, but I am comfortable crowning them top three without reservation. The dough baked into a crisp exterior encasing a light interior with a slight chew to it. Resting above the dough was a supple sauce that balanced sweet and savory flavors. The sauce's consistency harmonized the cheese above it with the crust below. It was neither too thick to overpower the slice nor so thin that it turns a crispy crust into a soggy slice. In summary, this was as perfect a pie as I've had in New Orleans.

A real feel of an Italian owned restaurant. Family working side by side to bring authentic Italian food and experience to its customers. The food was excellent! They catered to my request, served hot and quick. The chef/owner also came out to introduce himself and check on our meals. That just doesn’t happen in other restaurants. Besides the pizza being amazing, feeling at home made the crazy Italian my new favorite pizza joint!

This food is best Italian food I've found in Louisiana. I wish I wasn't just visiting so I can make this my regular place. I haven't had food like this since I was younger when my Nonnie would cook for us. If you're looking for delicious and authentic this is the place! Thank you for the nostalgia and food!

Pretty good pizza, bit pricey for what you get but otherwise everything else was good! Got a few apps and they were pretty good even though the mozz sticks tasted like freezer.

When Chap’s closed and was replaced with The Crazy Italian, I wrote the place off as just another Italian restaurant that we already had too many of in Lakeview. After trying and failing to order from Tower of Pizza one night, I was searching for alternatives and realized The Crazy Italian served pizza. Open to try out a new place for pie close by, I gave them a shot. The White Pie was incredibly delicious - maybe better than any other I’ve had in the city. I definitely found my new go-to pizza spot and am disappointed that I slept on this place for far too long!

The Bolognese Pasta was off the charts! The red sauce was just like your Grandma cooked it for hours. Perfect layer of flavors. The 12 inch half Supreme and half pepperoni was perfect in every way. Crust was crispy and chewy and the sauce was again, taste bud happy! Lots of toppings! The canolli was the best I have had! Crazy Italian is now my go to pasta and pizza place!

If you are looking for a New York style pizza, this is the spot! My fiancé and I tried the white pie and it was delicious! The pies are 18” which is plenty for two people. Next time back, I’m looking forward to Stromboli.
