Reviews of Tableau
Francis Angelone
Tableau goes out of their way to make sure you’re table is having a great birthday. All the food is upscale and for the quality, reasonably priced. Salad was included and also unexpected. Excellent craft cocktails and wine selection. The location is the perfect distance away from bourbon street to make your meal intimate and was easy to find. I highly recommend and we’ll be back!

Enjoy a nice ambiance with great food an cocktails? I highly suggest this spot. Great Customer service and remarkable cuisines. They offer a variety of dishes along with cocktails and wine. You have a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Very well known by locals and tourists. Great for business meetings, special occasions and especially romantic settings. I always go here whenever I am in town visiting family and friends. Our server, Anthony, was simply amazing so ask for him. I love the ambiance, staff, cocktails and entrees. You must try the custard dessert or chocolate cake! ENJOY!!!

Def pricey, but the food was amazing and the vibe super chill. (I did come on a Thursday evening though). The fish almondine was divine, and the tart was yummy (if filling). My waiter James was so nice and attentive. It’s really close to, but still off of, Bourbon street so it’s a little more chill. The vibe inside was relaxing, and the dining room was not full.
Ed Nichanian
Attentive staff though it was short staffed due to a wedding. Managers were trying their best
Excellent flavor profiles on the pan seared oysters with brie and sweetbreads with beets. I am coming back just for those!
Crab claws were good but wished they were hot
Duck breast was good though too rare for my taste even if it should be that way. Nice reduction and beet greens
Short but good wine by the glass list
Thank you
Joseph Raczynski
Historic location with a proper air about it. The upstairs outside tables are ideal for perspective and comfort during decent weather. Our local server was very engaging and helpful, not only about our experience, but places to go afterward.
The food was generally solid. The gumbo, fried oysters with brie, and the dessert pictured, were the winners this night.

Pretty dope meal. Great people watching and really clean restrooms. Waitstaff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Turtle soup is excellent, but went with the French Onion this time around. Terra was great and gave us some good recommendations while in town.
Brian Wray
3 Stars for the Beautiful Building and Ambiance. -2 Stars for the extra 40 minute wait on the Reservation and the lack luster food.
Being a Brennan's spin off, I expected great Turtle Soup and it was not very flavorful and the Turtle was small and gritty.
The Shrimp and Grits is not Charleston quality and rather average. Please take the tails off the shrimp. You force me to loose meat or play with my food. The Shrimp were over done and the Grits were under done, so not worth it tonight.
The Seafood bouillabaisse was average. To much Squid overtook the flavor profile, and again the seafood was overcooked and chewy.
Restaurant R'evolution's was much much better (we went there the night before).
Again, Atmosphere Great, Food Average at best. Limited and small menu, so they should get it right. Wait staff was average. Seemed a little chaotic in the dining room. We were greeted with a smile and happy face when we entered.
We may try it again to give it a second chance, but there are much better food choices out there.
Kelly D'Auria
Great food & service. Jewell was wonderful, great energy, friendly & so helpful. Loved the turtle soup & the gnocchi. Tom devoured the shrimp & grits. Of course, we had to save room for the Basque cheesecake!
Jis David
Great place. Clean and well maintained. Professional and friendly staff. Good food. Good quantity and taste. The oyster appetizer is a must try. The people are very nice. The restaurant is clean and calm. Their French onion soup is also very good .

Amazing place for some authentic New Orleans cuisine. I went here for my bachelor party dinner and it was spectacular. The food was amazing and the drinks were delicious. They even made me a special dessert. Thank you.
Kimberly Johnson
Absolutely charming, if need be romantic, culinary experience. Wait staff is confident, charming and familiar with all the fare served at the restaurant. The ambiance is enchanting, and the restaurant is physically connected to the Petit Theater, where you can catch some excellent acting after a delightful dinner.
Celeste
Phenomenal fine dining experience. We went here to celebrate my birthday and I’m so glad we did. Our server Alex was so knowledgeable and made great recommendations. Everything we had was delicious and prepared perfectly. The gnocchi is beyond and the desserts are truly special. The French onion soup is superb. I had the chicken and my husband had the fish. We loved both. Highly recommend the crème brûlée!

We’ve been twice now for brunch and Tableau simply doesn’t miss. Indoor, courtyard, and terrace seating are all absolutely stunning. The dishes are some of the most unique and complex I’ve had - and every single thing we’ve gotten has been delicious. The staff are so kind and attentive as well. There are options for vegetarians, prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food, bathrooms are clean, drinks are delicious and strong, desserts are rich and decadent, and free bread are all lovely perks. Proof of vaccination or negative covid test are still required as of March 2022. We’ll certainly be back. Can’t recommend this French Quarter gem enough!

We hosted our wedding dinner at Tableau. They were so easy to work with when it came to getting the initial information, selecting a menu, answering questions, etc.. I actually goofed and miscounted on the headcount of people. They quickly reset the table to accommodate everyone comfortably without question. The waitstaff was very attentive during the entire dinner. The entrees were absolutely amazing, but nothing compared to the bread pudding & crème brulee that we offered for dessert. Thank you to the Tableau team for making our wedding dinner a huge hit!
Yadezi LaMancusa
Great place to take in the French quarter for a romantic dinner. The bartenders and waiters are SUPER nice. I had a reservation and recommend that you have one for the best experience. We came on Thanksgiving day and ordered a special holiday plate. We ate outdoors and it was worth it, a great view overlooking Jackson square.
Kamran M
A beautiful meal - the starters, entrees, and dessert were all great. The portions were just about right for me, although the dessert can easily be shared between two (very generous crème brûlée).
The real highlight of the night was the atmosphere in the courtyard. Probably one of the most elegant settings I’ve ever dined in - and not in a pretentious way, the setting is very simple and elegant.
Katie S
True French Quarter gem! Service was fantastic and decor very old New Orleans. Gorgeous courtyard so you can sit inside or outside. Food is delicious but pricy given the portion sizes. We could also tell our food sat in the window for a few minutes as it wasn't super hot when we got it. Recommend the Fish Almondine as it changes depending on the catch of the day. It was red fish when I visited and I wanted to lick the plate it was so good. Dessert was beautiful but jist okay for me. Cocktails were great and they have an extensive wine list with some great choices whether you just want a glass or the whole bottle. Definitely recommend for Sunday brunch or an authentic, high-end Louisiana dining experience.

First time in New Orleans and celebrated with a nice dinner, southern style!
Pasta Bouillabaisse was slightly briny with an array of seafood, spicy and citrusy rouille, and fresh dill and basil.
Shrimp & Grits… hands down the BEST grits, I’ve ever had. Every bite was deliciously creamy, topped with garlic chips.
Turtle soup was quite tasty. Apprehensive at first, the soup was topped with sherry (straight from the bottle!) and wow, every sip was spicy and hearty. Turtle meat has the consistency of ground beef, but almost melts in your mouth like tofu.
Creole French Onion Soup was a little sweet for my taste, thought the onions could’ve been caramelized longer for a more natural sweetness.
Truffled Crab Claws are the new hot girl summer app! Boujee and fresh, biting into the juicy crab meat with shaved black truffle was quite the flavor combo!
Crème brûlée was the BEST, I’ve ever had! Cracking the torched surface is so satisfying, but every bite was a wonderful mix of vanilla and caramel. So much fresh vanilla bean!
If you find yourself in New Orleans, make a reservation and check this place out! ♥️

Reasonably priced for an elegant and upscale ambiance, perfectly situated amongst the heart of French Quarter. Shrimp & grits and crème brûlée were AMAZING. Service was incredibly fast, and my waiter was kind and friendly, even assisting me with pairing a wine with my meal. I may be a tourist but will definitely recommend to others who may be visiting soon!

Wonderful! I hosted a bachelorette weekend in New Orleans for a close friend, and our private dinner in Tableau’s parlor room was one of the highlights of the weekend! Everyone raved about the amazing food, excellent service, and the friendliness of the staff. Further, even though I arranged everything from out of town (I’m from NY), the restaurant’s event manager (Stephanie Aubrey) went above and beyond to make sure that everything from the booking/deposit to the menu/bar selections to the custom menu were perfect for my event. Could not be happier. What a wonderful restaurant to try my first time in New Orleans. I will definitely go again the next time I’m in town!
B
Not many vegetarian options on the actual menu, but if you ask they can make you a veggie plate. It doesn't look like it would be filling, but it was & it was delicious. I didn't like mushrooms until I had these. The desserts are also a must have! I suggest sitting outside on the balcony to people watch
Elizebeth Mohan
The restaurant is good. Staff are great. Please make a reservation before going in. The service was quick food was good. Recommend their Creme brûlée and oyster.
Valerie Nelson
Beautiful classy French quarter restaurant serving authentic New Orleans cuisine. The restaurant has a pretty courtyard and a balcony that overlooks Jackson Square. The turtle soup is divine.. add that splash of sherry! The shrimp and grits was fabulous!
Liz R (It’s Liz!)
Pros
1. Great service from the bartender
2. Convenient to Jackson Square
3. Wonderful Bloody Mary!
Cons
1. Outdoor seating wasn’t available which was the entire reason I wanted to eat here (people watching!)
2. Menu felt very limited for vegetarian/vegan.
3. Pricing reflects the touristy location
Had the chilled crab claws in truffle vinaigrette which were delicious! There must have been 15 claws which were pre cracked/shelled for easy eating.
Probably better for a special dinner than a casual, light lunch
Nick Skuteris
Nearly half the table got a gumbo to start and shrimp and grits for their entree. Food was very tasty. We also ordered crab claws and some shrimp dish to start. The crab claws were cold which threw me off, as I’ve typically had them warm. Overall a great experience with our big group. Perfect spot for a nice dinner that’s in the quarter and close to Jackson square. Service could’ve been slightly more attentive but would certainly go back.
Jamel Giuma
Had an amazing experience at Tableau again. We sat at the bar for some drinks and lite bites and really enjoyed our experience with our bartender. Maison Salad was fresh and the Duck Andouille Gumbo was soooo good. Nice and rich with the perfect amount of flavors and seasonings! I highly recommend Tableau!!
Dave Tafoya
Went here on our first night in New Orleans we had the French onion soup and chicken tableau both were extremely delicious. we finished the meal off with their signature crème Brûlée . Wait staff was extremely pleasant and efficient and we will be back again.
Lockett Nelson
The atmosphere was wonderful - a tranquil escape from the bustle of the French quarter. They also served some beautiful dishes and the best gumbo I have had in a long time. The service was a treat!
Raymond Sweet
This was a very nice place. It's a part of the Brennan's collection. They really do a great job of their menu selection. I had the oyster bowl. It was good, but need a salt kick. So, I saw hot sauce and added it. Then I ordered a black squid ink pasta dish. It took some time to come out. I was waiting on a play at LePetit(The Color Purple). It was fabulous. But back to Tableau. So, I was concerned it was cutting into my play time. It was about 30 minutes of waiting. It was good. Not a lot of pasta for the price . I would go back for a nice dinner and a play. But not sure I'm going to the FQ just for that. But it was nice. I do like that there is a diverse workforce. And the foh manager doesn't think the wait staff should do all the work while they pretend to run food. They work. And it was good to see. The drink is blackberry something or another. It was good.
Ian Binder
Went for brunch. A small menu, but everything looked good. I had the truffle omelette with crab. My friend had a burger. Both were great. The wait staff was excellent. Ambiance was nice.
Maitri Soga
Delicious take on haute Cajun. Our server Jason was amazing and each dish was delicious - starting with their fresh warm bread and butter. Highly recommend!
Claire WithLove
Although we enjoy trying new regional cuisines in our travels, it was hard for me to find a Creole restaurant where we would like the dishes. Tableau's French-Creole menu stood out, prices were reasonable, and Open Table had reservations.
The restaurant had an elegant, fun atmosphere with nice high ceilings and windows with good air flow and tables spaced nicely apart. There was outdoor seating in a lovely courtyard. We got the best seat in the house next to the open kitchen where we could watch all the chefs do their magic and listen as the head chef keeping everyone working together on each tables of dishes and offering tips and reminders. We could see the lovely salads get plated and waiters to come to whisk the plates to the next table.
The shrimp and grits were the BEST I have had. Five Gulf shrimp with bits of andouille sausage, fried garlic bits in a sherry beurre blanc sauce over the most creamy, light grits. Lots of flavors. They beat the shrimp and grits I have had in Charleston and Savannah and other places!
The Crème Brulee was special too. Jewell, our knowledgeable waitress, was right to say my husband needed to try it. It covered a dinner plate and was thin, so every bite had the wonderful crisp crunch of the caramelized sugar coating.
Arika Burrow
Absolutely the BEST DINNER in all of New Orleans; the GM, Bill, is the sweetest most professional man. The food was phenomenal. Amazing atmosphere, and very entertaining while we sat on the balcony. 100% recommend!
Kimberly Ramsey
Ate here for brunch and THOROUGHLY enjoyed it! I got the crab claws which is served cold! (I know you’re like eww but NO..it absolutely blew my mind..in a good way..how delicious it was!) and I got the egg tableu and it was so good! I would definitely recommend!!! And the hostess was SUPER SWEET!! Thank you for my first NAWLINS brunch and Jewell was our server, she was AWESOME! I would definitely recommend!
Ahmed Abdulmajeed
This will be a must visit every time I come to visit here. Highly recommend the duck confit and Egg Tableau from the brunch menu. There's a spicy tequila cocktail on the menu that's sooo good. Friendly service and accommodating
Gino Gisondo
Be sure to make a reservation. This place has amazing food. From appetizer, salad, soup through entree. Cocktails are great too. The courtyard is amazing and dining inside is great too. I highly recommend the creole french onion soup. Risotto was wonderfully creamy. Chicken Tableau is great. It was hard to pick because so many things looked great. I will be back to try to the fish and pork. The only downside is that I never get dessert at restaurants in the quarter because I always head to get beignets.
Jay Finesilver
Wonderful Thanksgiving meal. Good service and delicious food, timed just right. Fun, relaxed setting just at Jackson Square. I loved my meal there.
Darren Huggins
Hands down my favorite place to eat in New Orleans. The shrimp and grits are amazing. The BBQ sauce is out of this world. The chicken and sausage gumbo is one of the best I've had. Will always come back when I'm in the city.
Jamie Laidler
This place is ideally located right on the corner of Jackson square. If you book go for the outside balcony and you can just sit, drink cocktails and watch the world go by as you indulge in some lovely food.
Lukasz Zbylut
Good location, very nice food, a little pricey and the service could be faster. The chairs are old and the cushions have no support. The fish course and the gumbo are excellent. Do not get the crab claws. Definitely get the creme brulee.
Sam Youngston
Tableau is an amazing brunch restaurant. I've been here a couple times and both times were so good. Service is kind and fast, food is delicious, and the environment is gorgeous. Definitely worth a visit!!
Danielle Epanchin
Wonderful meal! I had thr elder 75 gin cocktail, so refreshing! My starter was brown butter gnocchi. It was delicious, but it was not served in the brown butter sauce but in a pecan oil vinaigrette. Still Wonderful, just different from my expectations. My husband got the French onion soup...he won starter round. For my entree I had the shrimp and grits with fried oysters on top. The oysters complimented the meal so well! I had plenty of shrimp, and good sized fresh gulf shrimp. My grits were creamy and smooth and although I prefer a course grits, I did not have any trouble eating them! We were too stuffed for dessert. Our service was wonderful despite the fact they had just 2 servers since someone called out. Highly recommend would go back again.
Mino Schuffner
This place deserves more than 5 stars! The food is spectacular, both in presentation and taste.
Trent Parker
We decided to stop and eat here on a whim while walking around the French Quarter. The staff was awesome and were able to seat all 6 of us even though we didn't have a reservation. Our server was also quite helpful and friendly.
The atmosphere was loud, but really good-- something you'd expect from the area. The widows had good views of the other buildings around us. The staff created a relaxed setting where we didn't feel rushed.
The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced given the quality and location. We all enjoyed our meals. Highly recommend!
Rudimentary Health
One of the best meals we've ever had! Our waiter was amazing with an excellent understanding of the menu and an enthusiasm for telling us about his favorite drinks and dishes! The food was beautiful, creative, and delicious and we loved the drinks! We sat on the outdoor balcony and loved every minute of our dinner! Thank you Tableau and we can't wait to come back next time we're in NOLA!!
Dan Kochenderfer
Our server was absolutely amazing! And the view from the balcony was wonderful. Being able to dine while listening to street performers, and just taking in the vibe from Jackson Square was an amazing experience. The blue crab in truffle was terrific for an appetizer, and the cheese board was excellent. I really enjoyed the chicken tableau, and my family enjoyed the filets, burgers, and risotto. A definite must if you're visiting the quarters.
J J
Excellent food, great service. I was disappointed they did not have more Cajun, or Creole dishes, but the food was good, server was happy and friendly.
Jason Stevenson
Great food. Everything was very tasty. A little pricey for the portions on the entree but it was high quality.
Dan Anthony
This is a nice two story restaurant on one of the corners that hit the famous New Orleans's Jackson Square. On this particular day I visited this place with a group of 12 on Halloween Day. They accommodated us by separating us into two table of 6 on their balcony though we were around the corner of each table. The service was friendly, though it was a little slow. The food is the highlight as this served me the best Shrimp and Grits I have ever tasted. The grits were slightly salted but very creamy. The shrimp sauce gave the grits an amazing tasty. I really recommend this dish. We also had mimosas for the table which ran for about $12 and served around 6 drinks. Needless to say that after 3 of these pitchers we were feeling pretty happy. Everyone else enjoyed their food and time here so I recommend this place.
Javier Evans
Great Sunday brunch, located right in Jackson Square. The blue crab appetizer is an excellent choice. Seating on the balcony provides partial views of the Square.
Kristin Johnson
This was a beautiful dining experience. Two of us had the reveillon menu and one had the regular menu. You cannot go wrong with either menu. The brown butter gnocchi was out of this world and so was the pompano! The servers were delightful and cheery. They were not quite on top of things which is the only thing that could have been improved. However this is feedback to get better it should not be a reason to not go! Thank you for making my birthday amazing!
Ericka Buyco
Beautiful decor, delicious food and outstanding service. We were able to walk in at 430pm on a Saturday and was seated right away without a reservation. Not sure if it’s normally like this. The truffle blue crab is a must!
Rachel S
Amazing restaurant in the heart of New Orleans! This was one of the highlights of our stay. We ordered the gnocchi appetiser, the French onion soup, the seafood pasta and the chocolate mousse cake and everything was 10/10! We also got delicious cocktails. Everything was very reasonably priced, the French style of the restaurant is beautiful and our server Tara was wonderful. Highly recommend!
Simone Ferrigno
Excellent! Every part of it was great. Service, food, ambiente. Thanks for this experience.
Sharmon Moss
It was okay. I expected it to be better with a really high ratings. We listened to our server about what to order, and we may have had better luck if we had chosen different dishes. Did not care for the Crab Claw appetizer. Dining in the courtyard was nice.
Carlos Seleme
Jewell, the place and the food were awesome!! I absolutely come back! It’s a pleasure
Pauline Leroux
We went there for drinks and the cocktails were fine. We also had their cheese platter which was overpriced ($17) for 2 cheeses, some bread and a few berries that were not even fresh.
Tratra C
Without doubt, this is a very nice location to dine in and enjoy the 2F patio. I went here for oysters since we know it’s a oyster bar. But, the waiter told us they are no longer serve oysters until the further notice. Make sure to ask if they do serve oysters before making a reservation.
Jeff Clow
Absolutely terrific French inspired food.
The oyster “roast” appetizer was unique and amazing. As was the thick pork chop entree…charred, cooked perfectly and layers and layers of flavor.
Service was top notch as well.
Most highly recommended!
Hans Meier
All pretty good, but I asked if I buy a 200$ wine if they serve still in this water glasses ? The answer is yes ! What a shame...
Theda Stephens
The food was great and the balcony view was amazing! We had the ribeye, mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. The steak was huge and made to order-very flavorful and juicy. The waitress was very nice and helpful with ordering. Would definitely go again!!
C. McCormick
Food was good. Excellent service! Drinks lite pour. Beautiful decor in historic French quarter building. $$$$ no green veggies with steak. Private dining room was cozy a bit dark but it was wine storage room. Restroom on every floor.
Jacqueline Buffetta
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The gnocchi is to die for, as is the shrimp and grits and seafood bouillabaisse. The live music, atmosphere, and service was also excellent. Our food was amazing, and I would love to travel back to NOLA just for this food again
Gabriel R.
Definitely an experience I was hoping to get while in New Orleans. The service was great and the food was awesome. Eating on the balcony is a must! I had the pan seared duck breast and I loved it. If you leave here without trying the creme brulee, you will miss out on the best part!
Craig Prater
Went here for breakfast. The setup was nice. We ate on the 2nd floor balcony. The guys playing music while you ate was a nice touch. Food was really good and reasonably priced. Would come back. Limited menu, but the place is probably even better for dinner, as they turn the menu over early in the day.
Phil Bergman
3rd time here and they did not disappoint. This restaurant is beautiful with exemplary service, excellent food and a good wine list. The somm was great to work with on a special bottle order. This is now in our top 5 favorite special meal restaurant in Nola. Bravo!
Jen Kidd
5+ years later & I’m still dreaming of this beautiful, delicious place! Lovely courtyard, friendly staff, amazing food! The BEST shrimp & grits I’ve ever had in my life! I’d seriously drive to NOLA from Dallas just to eat here again!
Sabrina Houchins
I usually can shrug off bad experiences but when the hostess makes you feel like an inconvenience from the start at arrival (with a reservation, mind you), I felt the need to review. The gnocchi and crab appetizers were amazing, and those were the only reason for the 3 stars. When our entrees came, two out of five were cold and the third was a raw burger. The other two were just ok. Given all of our other food experiences in NOLA were incredible, we were definitely taken aback, especially with how fancy this place is supposed to be. The manager did rectify by taking most of the bad food off of tab, but this experience just did not put a good taste in our mouths.
Sarah Shields-Perez
Amazing local cuisine! Everything was outstanding. Definitely make a reservation a day or two prior if eating here on the weekend. Located off of Jackson Square, convenient if exploring/ staying near the French quarter.
Jimmy Vo
Beautiful spot next to Jackson Square to dine in. We had a wonderful waitress to take care of us. The Mason Salad was great. The chicken and sausage gumbo was okay. We got the risotto with grilled chicken to share but we didn’t like it much. Apparently we didn’t order their best items so I wasted our visit on some regular items that could have been better somewhere else. However the attentiveness of the staffs and the ambience of the restaurant were really much above average. Thank you.
T Luba
The food was delicious, formidable!! The service was outstanding... The prices are very reasonable & the wine list superb... We had the grits with shrimp & salted fish...We loved our attendent Jule - she ensured we had a superb dinning experience.
Dan Walko
Dined at Tableau Thursday night, February 9th 2023. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. The service was impeccable. Beyond expectations. The food was amazing. We had escargot and crab appetizers, turtle soup, and filets. The Chef is a superstar. Our drinks were perfect. 10 stars to the bartender! I can't say enough about our waiter, the manager and support staff. 10 stars across the board! We will be back whenever we are in New Orleans. Thank you all so much!
Sydney Rice
This was my favorite restaurant on my trip! If you plan to visit, buckle up because you’re in for a treat! It really is the perfect location, right near Jackson Square! If you sit outside on the balcony, you can see Jackson Square and hear the street artist perform jazz! They are now offering brunch which was scrumdiddlyumptious! They have a mimosa special that I highly recommend! Everything I tasted was delicious, but the best part was the creme brûlée! You must must must finish your meal with it!
Cameron Christensen
My wife took me to Tableau for my birthday. We were seated immediately and our server was attentive and helpful. I tried the turtle soup for an appetizer, and enjoyed the BBQ Shrimp and Grits as an entre. The highlight of this dinner was the desert. TARTE À LA BOUILLIE! the vanilla custard is divine. Beautiful place, and great food made it a special night.
Michael Bellanova
Atmosphere is stellar and the waitstaff especially Bebe are the most professional and caring. Bebe was so personable and prompt . Try the French onion soup and chicken tableau for a meal that will enhance your day and your mood x
Jahneli Bradburn
We loved our food and waitress was the kindest! The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star rating is because the group of girls in front of us were extremely loud and obnoxious F’ing this and that and screaming which made us very uncomfortable. The manager said there wasn’t anything she could do but move us outside in (86 degree weather).
AJ Socolow Burns
Excellent. Love the dining areas, love the back ny views, food is prepared masterfully. Would recommend for lunch or dinner. We just keep ending up back here and the service is excellent.

What's better than BEING A TOURIST IN YOUR OWN TOWN?
Today was a spontaneous day it was AND what better place to spend it, than in the French Quarters? I'm listening... ok you agree, THERE'S NO BETTER PLACE.
Located on the corner of Chartres + St Peters, this dining establishment was the place for me TODAY!!!
I was greeted by fine, well uniformed wait staff. They took me to my table to meet my awaiting guest. Dining indoors or outdoors on the patio was the question. Upstairs, outdoor patio please. The stairs were a surprisingly unwelcome treat, I wondered where was the elevator (lol). Wearing a mask & climbing stairs was a challenge, but I persevered.
The server was pleasant and informative. She delivered iced water in a REAL WATER GLASS & a mini loaf of bread with warm butter... ummmm, Tableau you had me at HELLO.
The food was delivered in a timely fashion.
I found the gumbo to be seasoned well, but a little like a gravy versus a roux.
The blackened fish in the ciabatta bread was moist and well seasoned. The pommes frites that accompanied the sandwich were hearty and filling.
French 75, mimosas & the Old Fashioned were perfect & to my pleasing. I mean messing up a cocktail is a cardinal sin in my book. For the most part, everything was tasty and quite to our satisfaction.
I loooooved, loveeeddddd, loveeedddd the ambiance of the restaurant. Inside & outside IS A VIBE!!!!
Parking is a challenge. Excellent service, fit for a king/queen, classic Dickie Brennan's style.
I'll be back...
Viktoriia Kostiuk
We loved to have dinner there!
Great spot to enjoy Jackson Square vibes and live street musicians. Got our table at the second floor balcony. Nice and friendly customer service.
Menu had great variety of different dishes and cocktails. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Our waiter was attentive and sweet to all our requests.
Place itself is big with different seating options. We were happy and I recommend this place for amazing service!
Jennifer Palmer
When the cocktails and bread service are amazing, you know it’s all good. I personally enjoyed the turtle soup, 2 French 75s, and the BBQ shrimp and grits. I only wish I saved room for dessert.
Sean Simpson
We had our wedding reception there on November 30th. Stephanie Aubrey helped us get everything pit togather with a custom menu and a private room. Everything was was perfect! The food was great and they received our cake for us. Most of all the staff was absolutely incredible. They accommodated us in everyway. Truly made us feel like royalty.
Ingy Nessim
We had the best drinks I’ve ever had at tableau. If you are into Smokey old fashions then you should try theirs. The wait staff is amazing. Alex our waiter was spectacular. The food also was so delicious. A+ all around. Thank you guys for a great night.
Terrence King
Outstanding restaurant. Great service and the food was perfect. My appetizer was Shrimp and they were delicious. Prepared perfectly and the presentation was as good as the food. My dinner was blackened Redfish topped with Grilled Chicken Breast. The entire staff were very professional and willing to assist with our smallest needs.
Kimberly Thoms
Frist time dining here and it definitely didn’t disappoint! The drinks and food were amazing- From the appetizers, to the meal to the dessert. Tomas was our waiter and he was absolutely wonderful!! He made the experience 10X better.
Human Bean
Came for dessert. The creme brulee is possibly the best I've ever had, and I am a bit of an aficionado. We also had the Tarte a la Bouillie... a brand new taste experience we may have to revisit before leaving town. Excellent!
Jastian Bastian
Sat on the balcony. Food was a 10. Staff was excellent. I had shrimp and grits and was humming. Creme Brulee was very good. Our group tried turtle soup (yum) so the waiter split the one order into small bowls. Will definitely go back. High recommendation.

Very average decent French restaurant, nothing to write home about. The other places we tried during the week were much more unique e.g. Rebirth, Pêche.
Periana Staggers
The ambiance in this place is amazing. Think Princess and the Frog vibes. Live jazz band playing, lots of large windows and natural lighting. I had the shrimp and grits. It was good, but the portion size wasn’t very large for the price paid. My mom said the chicken in her salad was dry, and my aunt felt as though the gumbo was pretty basic (and again portion size was small). Great for brunch. They were not stingy with refills on the bottomless mimosas!
melissa warren
I really enjoyed our brunch. The eggs Tableau was perfectly cooked, and had a really interesting and delicious flavor mix. The onion soup is amazing as well. The service was A plus and they were very accommodating and nice to our 6 month old son. He was very happy with the attention. If you are looking for huge plates of average food, this is not that place. But if you want quality that you pay for, it's worth every penny.

Tableau is a good choice for a romantic dinner. The food is good classic New Orleans cuisine. The staff was extremely friendly and very attentive. It is a very elegant setting for a good dinner and some prime people watching in the quarter.
Patrick Eades
Excellent service and great food!
chris simons
EVRRYTHING is upscale but affordable. I think the highest priced item while here was a filet mignon at 30ish? Food is out of this world. So glad we made reservations during Mardi Gras. If you can get in .. DO IT!
David Markley
We have had a great time sitting on the balcony hear and watching people flow in and out of Jackson Square. We highly recommend their cocktails and appetizers as a great way to spend the afternoon. They have a happy hour from 4 to 7pm and it is available on the balcony, much to our happy surprise. The servers are wonderful and it has become a required part of our trips to New Orleans.
Neil Evans
Great environment and great drinks. This is definitely one of the better restaurants in the french quarter. They have excellent cocktails, mocktails, and drinks all together, but also a terrific french inspired menu and oysters
Jesseca Hallows
We wondered in here on a whim and are so glad we did. The food was incredible, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was amazing. Can’t say enough about how great the staff was while helping us. We got a shrimp appetizer (fried green tomatoes at the bottom were delicious), a few drinks, and the vanilla creme brûlée. All fantastic.
Mister
Enjoyable experience. Nice atmosphere and wait staff. Really good food. Had a cheese burger and fries. Hand cut fries. They could have been cooked a little longer. Like my fries on the crispy side. They don’t have yellow mustard, it’s spicy but blends well with the burger. Also keep in mind that the pickles are sweet, so watch out if you don’t like sweet pickles. My husband had the chicken. He was very pleased and ate it all. Comes in a bowl, but he made in work.
Rachel P
Server- Mya (excellent). This is a great place for a date night with the expected New Orleans charm. We order the shrimp appetizer and the sauce was my favorite on this dish. My husband ordered the chicken two ways but subbed the potatoes for fries. Good but I would love to taste it as it was intended, oh well. I ordered the mushroom risotto and added shrimp. It was BOMB!
AJ
Really good ambience and exceptional service. I’m not so sure about the food though, probably because I had high expectations. Tried couple of appetizers like the shrimp, truffled crab claws, creole French onion soup, with main course pork chop and mushroom parmesan risotto and nothing I could say stood out or were rather underseasoned and lacked a fine dining experience. The desserts were really good and the brownie is a must try.
Lori Jo Whitehaus
Excellent attention to detail. Table of five had a serving team and coordinated to have our food placed in front of us simultaneously. Extensive wine menu. Delicious food. The creme brulee was amazing.
Edward Roske
Delicious evening out with my wife. Even though it was the day before Fat Tuesday of Mardi Gras, the service was impeccable. I’m a vegetarian and had the Brown Butter Gnochi (amazing, maybe the best gnocchi I’ve ever had), the Vegetarian Cassoulet (wonderful and winter-esque), and the King Cake Bread Pudding (tasty and not too sweet).
Definitely will return.
Andrew Irvin
Aubrey was our server. Made our engagement dinner very special!
Ronald Sicharan
A nice bar near Jackson Square. Prices were good as it was happy hour. The upstairs bar isn't that big, although it wasn't too busy when I was there. But it was midweek and late afternoon. It is also a spot on one of the walking tours, as a large group came in while I was at the bar.
Chris Drake
Tableau offers a very good, consistent quality lunch in the heart of the French Quarter. Their Turtle Soup, Gumbo, BBQ Shrimp and Grits, and grilled fish are all stand outs. Their po-boys are excellent. The coffee is classic Brennan fare - the cream barely lightens the dark, rich color! I have had an off day here before but it has been a while and even their off days are pretty good. Yesterday was one of the best overall meals I have had in a while and our out-of-town guests were blown away.
Nayana Samaranayake
The best meal we had in NO. We have been trying all the 4+ star places on Yelp with thousands of reviews, and had disappointing experiences. Last night we did dinner at Restaurant R'evolution, and everything was disappointing including the lobster gnocchi. The day before we did Royal House, which was average. Given our experiences, we were sceptical about Tableau, but we were in for a surprise. Starting with the warm bread, and the Demi Royale (the crab ravigote, truffle crab claws and shrimp remoulade were all equally amazing), then we go the shrimp and grits, and the grilled gulf fish curry, again both these dishes were perfect. I would highly recommend getting the balcony seating as well, they have heaters on cold days. Staff was amazing too.
Megan Cortney
Our service and waiter was quite lovely at this location. this was our first dinner on our honeymoon that we spent in New Orleans. those crab claws were the best crab claws I've ever had in my entire life, not to mention the full shrimp in our gumbo along with our lovely alcoholic drinks and amazing creme brulee dessert. We will definitely come back for the crab claws alone!!! I still think of them to this day lol
A F
We went on a Sunday morning as soon as they opened. Apparently they are always fully booked on Sundays. So the only place we could sit at was the bar. The food was AMAZING. It's a nicer place so it's more expensive. But if you want to do a fancy brunch or dinner, this is your place.
Sue June Kim
Lovely meal on the balcony with view of Jackson Square. Gnocchi and shrimp with Crystal butter sauce were delicious but a warning for the squeamish: the heads are still on.
Redfin lightly breaded with fingerling potatoes and Black Drum fish entrees were scrumptious and generously portioned, not too small not too large. Attentive and friendly service. Treat yourself here for at least one of your dinners when visiting New Orleans.
Michelle Black
We went to Tableau with a private party and it was fabulous. The three-story restaurant has lots of beautiful rooms and dining areas. We were in the wine room. The acapella band came and sang several songs for us. They were very good. We had a pre-decided menu but everything was wonderful. Our appetizers were delicious, salad was fresh and tasty and my filet was perfectly cooked. The creme brulee was divine.
chad svastisalee
Stopped in after dinner for drinks and desserts. Just off Jackson Square, this is fine dining with a casual atmosphere. We sat and really enjoyed the bar and what it had to offer. Although great whiskey's on hand, I opted for a Juicifer on tap. Our bartender got wind of our birthday plans and the kitchen went a step further, decorating our plates with just enough to really make our experience truly outstanding. The Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee is a plate of heaven!
Michael Barndt
Incredible restaurant! Amazing food. Tucked away on a side street next to Jackson Square in New Orleans, this restaurant delivers only the best.
Jacob Franck
This place was great, service was good. Sitting on the balcony offered a great view while dining and the food options were amazing! Definitely will be back when traveling there again.
Jacob Jones
Oh my goodness - the food is soooo gooooood! in a town of amazing food, we came here twice in a week. Great staff and we even enjoyed some civil war era re-enactors while we were there along with a brass band. Again - the food is the real star! The shrimp and grits are amazing!
C JP
What a wonderful place!! I wanted to try Shrimp and Grits as my previous experience of grits had been memorable for all the wrong reasons! I was warmly greeted (as I have been everywhere in New Orleans!) and was seated in a cosy corner of the restaurant. I ordered an Aperol Spritz and shrimp and grits. My server asked if I'd had the drink before, which I said I had. He wanted to make sure as it's not as popular as it is in the UK where we drink copious amounts of it! But I thought it was very sweet of him to check as he wanted to make my experience a good one.
I then got chatting to one of the other servers, Ricardo who was an absolute delight, and told me all about his time living in the UK. The shrimp and grits were stunning! Well seasoned and just delicious. I could have eaten them all day! As it was raining outside quite heavily, I was tempted to have a delicious dessert as recommended by Ricardo. It was rich and creamy and covered in rum sauce. A gorgeous way to end the meal. Definitely worth treating yourself to a meal here.
Faith Parry
Such a fabulous evening! We started out on the balcony, but moved in because it got windy. All 3 coarses were delicious! Our server was wonderful!
Ferris
can't recommend the shrimp and grits, absolutely tasteless. but amazing service, drinks, staff, and the best creme brulee you'll ever have.
Gary J.
After my Sazerac the bartender Jason and I decided to compose a rock opera. Please drop in if you can contribute a few measures. It shall be the VolksOpera.
Jennifer Macias
Enjoyed the view, and the food is delicious. You get a nice view of the Jackson Square. The only downfall was the service was a little slow, and it took forever to get drinks and our food.
Jarrod Milstead
While walking around New Orleans at lunch time. We wanted a new food adventure, which brought us to dessert at Tableau. We had a previous recommendation for the creme brulee. When we got there we sat at the bar and looked through the menu. When we couldn't decide the very helpful bartender explained the desserts in a way the creme brulee wouldn't be enough. We ordered carrot cake parfait, the tarte a la bouille, as well as the vanilla bean creme brulee. Everything was amazing. We ate every bite. Even the bartender agreed we made the best choices. Will make this stop each time we visit.
Hollie Smith
It's good. We have had amazing experiences here and terrible ones. I guess it depends on the chefs for the day and the service. Gumbo has barely any meat and is very Rick in flour/roux (not recommended) and they don't make a good bloody Mary. I have had the Chicken Tableau and it was amazing every time.
K S
Outstanding service! The mixed drinks are great. While servings are small, the food was delicious. The windows in the upstairs dining area were open and the room was filled with a nice breeze and the sounds of the bands outside. We loved it!
Jenn Rynkiewicz
Best meal of the week so far. Fantastic service by Briana & Sam. The bloody Mary was incredible; the shrimp remoulade amazing; the skillet mouthwatering. Not to mention the beautiful view from the balcony. Highly, highly recommend.
Rebecca Tamm
The food was delicious, the band playiing tableside were all so talented. But what really made the experience great for us was the service. Ricardo was so wonderful, and gave us some great recommendations on where to go during our visit here. We really enjoyed chatting with him, and he was beyond great with our daughter. Try the shrimp remoulade and the creme brulee. And if you're looking for a mocktail Blackbeard will not disappoint.
Patricia Alleyn
Excellent food, great setting, awesome service, aka fantastic experience!!!!
You need to try!!!
PS close but far enough from Bourbon so you can really enjoy a conversation.
Hannah Tybus
Absolutely amazing meal and atmosphere! Everything was had was delicious!
Golden Eye
Great service, outstanding food, courteous and attentive staff (Anthony was our server), wonderful brunch spot. Only negative we’re the uncomfortable chairs, which need to be restrung as they cause you to sink below the table.
Amanda Ritchie
We loved everything! Food, atmosphere, service, all impeccable. We will definitely recommend to all our friends and be back ourselves. The musicians that come around to your table are an unexpected treat. Their creme brulee was delicious and heavy on the brulee, which is our absolute favorite. We enjoyed every single bite of food. Our table of 5 all got something different, and it was hard to pick a favorite between them!
Stacy Kline
Exquisite restaurant and bar! Try the French 75 for a real treat!
Sinan Pismisoglu
Great balcony view, good food, reasonably priced Champagne. Loved the location and the food. Service was kinda slow but a must visit.
Sarah
My first meal in NoLa was brunch here and it was amazing! Delicious food and mimosas as well as an extremely friendly and accommodating staff! The balcony overlooks Jackson Square which makes for some great people watching and great views of the French Quarter.
Jacqueline Lechner
Excellent service. Comfortably exquisite atmosphere. The food, tastes like home❤️
Vaughn Rahn
Staff was very helpful for us tourists. Made suggestions on mocktail drinks and made a variety oyster plate that wasn't on the menu since I've not had then before. Very nice restaurant that people can appreciate.
Ellie Erd
A group of friends and I enjoyed a dinner here last week. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Our server specifically was very accommodating and quick-witted, which we loved. I tried the gulf fish almondine... and cleaned my plate. I'm still thinking about that fish! You have to try this restaurant if you're looking for excellent French-Creole cuisine!
Jason Giaccone
Fantastic afternoon of delicious food, wonderful drinks, and an amazing service staff!
K
An amazing place! The food is high end but well worth the price. They have balcony seating that offers a great view of Jackson Square. The staff is very friendly.
Luke
We were impressed by the high quality of the food we ate. We had the fish of the day and it had great flavour. Sitting on the balcony was a great option to watch the world go by. A little pricey but we felt the quality was worth it for the dining experience.
Nicole Nafziger (HurleyGirl)
Amazing food, great service, and beautiful setting
Sarah Payne
We had brunch and dinner there. Everything was amazing! Great waitress!
Kevin Patten
Great service, amazing food. Really enjoyed the experience here. Will definitely be back!
Ian Chenevert
Gabe was a fantastic sommelier and guided us to a great couple of bottles of wine. With a range in tastes and preferences between our two diners Gabe wove a lovely pairing that complimented each other and the meal.
Steve was attentive and also provided guidance on the menu items. Wanting to sample quite a number of items, Steve and the kitchen staff, indulged us and presented the items so that we enjoyed them without eating from each others plates. His dessert suggestion of TARTE À LA BOUILLE was on point and as my young daughter says, "IT SLAPS!"
Looking forward to the return of the regular menu and higher patronage although the occupancy restrictions did allow for an intimate and indulgent dinner on the patio in what was the best first cool night of the year.
Bear Lover
Amazing restaurant in the heart of New Orleans, a stone's throw from the Mississippi river. Excellent service and out of this world food. Definitely a place to visit when in New Orleans
Cardero Jefferson
We ordered the Chicken Gumbo as an appetizer (delicious), BBQ Shrimp and Grits (delicious), and the Risotto with Shrimp (it was ok but didn’t scream New Orleans) overall great experience with balcony seating. A little pricey though.
Ross Inman
Just disappointing. Avoid the crab claws. Service was good. Hot food was served cold. Cheesecake was a highlight along with the shrimp remoulade.
Jay DeFrank
We had an amazing experience! Food was amazing and service was even better. Hostess was very supportive as we were telling her about a previous bad experience. I found it interesting that they were apologetic for the other restaurants short comings!!
The sommelier was helpful in choosing the best wine for our taste preferences. Appetizers were turtle soup and the gnocchi. Everything tasted great. We had swordfish with crawfish and my wife had shrimp/grits. Desert was creme brûlée. It can get overwhelming trying to pick the right place. We did our research and we are so glad we chose Tableau!
michael epanchin
Overall great experience. The service was lovely, but I'm honestly less concerned about that than the food. First we received bread for the table, which was a NOLA style French roll, softer crust and very airy interior, making it ideal for soaking up soups and sauces. It was my fault for eating it too quickly to not enjoy it with my soup.
I'd say the star of the food we had was the Creole French Onion. The server told us that it was made with the drippings of their Ribeyes, which you can taste in the richness of the broth. But I think where it shines is in the balance between the sweetness of the onions and the heat from, probably, cayenne. It's not particularly hot, but enough to provide contrast.
For my entree, I had the pasta bouillabaisse. The pasta itself is house made with squid ink, served in a buttery sauce made with seafood broth, and garnished with mussels, shrimp, and squid. The rouille sauce that it came with tasted very strongly of paprika. Overall delicious, and something I could not reproduce easily at home. Highly recommended!
Jorie Thompson
This place had good food and good service. I had the shrimp and grits and it is better at other places in the area. The shrimp tasted off but other than that, it was good food and atmosphere.
Renee Divine
We absolutely loved Tableau! Lovely ambiance with a view of the street from the outside balcony and excellent service. We all got the eggs Benedict with fried green tomatoes which was delicious and I also got a really good “mocktail”. Would highly recommend!
Charlotte
A note to the Chef. Please keep the Truffle Crab Claws on the menu! They're the best in Nola! My heart dropped when I saw that they weren't on the last menu. I visit Nola often and Tableau is typically my first stop just for these delicious little bites. I'll be back in November and can't wait to indulge! 💞 …
Charisse Puckett
Beautiful place. Loved the outdoor seating on the balcony upstairs. Lets you watch the square and all the activity below. Lunch was amazing! I can't wait to go back!!
Amanda Duffy
Thank you Alex for making my friend’s improv birthday lunch so great! Food was amazing and the ambiance is gorgeous
Stephen Cassidy
Quality food and an attractive restaurant. Definitely order the side dish of crawfish with butter. It is simple and delicious.
Bill Stevens
The shrimp and grits are amazing. Also I was soaking wet and looked like a mess from getting caught in the rain and they were still happy to seat me.
Rocío de la Vega
Just perfect. A really beautiful place with delightful service and authentically delicious food. Dinning on the gallery with a view to Jackson Square was magical. Thanks!
Brianne Rechy
Came in for a quick snack and cocktail to duck out of the heat for a bit and had a wonderful experience! Fantastic drink (Just As Well), great house salad, and comfortable relaxed seating upstairs!
Nicholas Moeai
Food was fantastic. To die for really. It's near Jackson square if you want to be on the porch and overlook it while listening to live jazz music coming from below. It's crazy pricey so be advised. The bartender was awesome but the rest of the staff lingered around chit chatting by us. It was kind of aggravating really. Unprofessional at most. But I haven't found a lot of that here in NOLA. This seems to be how it is here.
Anita
Great place for lunch or dinner in the French Quarter! It offers a variety of offers which are very good. I ordered the cheese plate which included cheeses, spice nuts, crostini, pickles, and olives. It was delicious! Also had the shrimp which was wonderfully spiced and grilled. Great happy hour drinks to top it off!
Johnny “Johnny's good life tips” Even
Great location to dine next to Jackson square
Good food
Service need attention
Great gumbo
Cooked oysters were really good
Great Benedict and cocktails
Derek Antoine Lee
Beautiful clean place. Clean staff. Food is bland and Basic. But the dessert !!!! Tarte alaboui ..SO GOOD! A must try! I get it at least a few times a year.
Jeremy David Johnson
Absolutely outstanding food. Good atmosphere with friendly staff. Prices are not bad for the tremendous quality.
Roy Druin
Had dinner after Jazz Fest. Had the wedge salad and shrimp and grits. The wedge listed a creamy dressing which was more oil based. The shrimp and grits dish was a little light on the grits, however the shrimp was good! We also had the lamb chops awesome!! The wine we ordered for dinner showed up after dinner? The biggest problem was they did not want to make any accommodations for our dairy restriction. Will not be back
S Lynn.p
This place is a must. They were not open yet when we showed up, so we got a drink and waited at the resturaunt across the street for 35 min. Super friendly staff. Glen the host downstairs was so nice, and Katie our waitress was amazing. She directed us to menus items she thought we'd enjoy and overall was a lovely person.
Food was great, prices competitive, bottomless mimosas never bad and atmosphere lovely.
Would highly reccomend.
Abigail Padfield Narayan
My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner. It wasn't too busy and the hostess was really nice. The waiter and waitress were ok but they weren't really attentive. We finished our drinks and weren't asked if we wanted another one. The food was ok but nothing really great. I did enjoy the creme brulee.
Joanna Robinson
Went here for the temperature lunch special (price is the previous day's high temperature). Great food and great service! One of the best summer deals in the quarter for sure.
Kim Savage
We had one of the best experiences here of the whole trip to NOLA! The food is excellent! And the staff is very friendly and helpful. Our waotress, didn't catch her name😑, was phenomenal! We'd had a bad day, and she made it so much better. She even snuck me out a creme Brule, bc we were celebrating my bday! It was delicious as this picture suggests! This one is a must stop!
Dionna Wood
Enjoyed my 25th birthday dinner here at the finest table they had to offer overlooking Jackson Square! Our server, Marlon, was wonderful and prompt, with great knowledge of the menu and New Orleans itself. Dinner was delicious and I wish I could have it again and again! Lamb chops and shrimp and grits. Mmm!
Joy TheTurd
Wow!! YUM YUM YUM! That and great service are all I want to say. I had the capote as a cocktail then Veal grillades and grits with tarte a la bouille for dessert
JENNA PETER
The food here is excellent. Claudia, a hostess, is very helpful and was able to accommodate my large party. I have had several events here and everything always runs smoothly. Each time I go to New Orleans, I make a point to go Tableau and they never disappoint. If you are looking for a place in the French Quarter, I would 100% recommend
Phyllis Moyer
Ricardo and Tomas treated us like celebrities! Great view and great food. I plan to return the next time I am in New Orleans!
Domini Krial
Service was a little slow, but no one wants to rush through brunch. We tried several drinks of the drink menu and didn't finish any of them. The eggs Benedict quite good tho. The pepper jelly addition was a nice twist.
Tyler Bennett
Great food, amazing service, and $15 bottomless mimosas. What more could you want? I got the Eggs Tableau which is their creole take on eggs Benedict and it was the best one I've had. Thank you!
thong doan
Great food and service. Located in Central area of French quarter
Alex V
The food, atmosphere, and staff were amazing. My son and I stumbled upon Tableau after a long day of touring. We weren’t dressed well enough and we didn’t have a reservation. Still, Josh our waiter and the team at Tableau treated us with respect and hospitality. I suggest wearing photo-ready attire and booking a reservation to get the full experience. Have a great time!
Robin Anne
What a nice afternoon find off Jackson Square for a very late lunch. From the greeting at the host stand, to the server during our meal and the manager who checked on our overall experience, service was impeccable. The food was delightful, we all finished our plates. And the iced tea was southern strong :-).
Lenore Seal
I love this place I want to point out though that I ordered turtle soup from here and they brought my drink with a paper straw and I think that’s very ironic
Jonathan
Outstanding experience! I don't generally dine at the bar but enjoyed meeting locals and tourists alike during my visit. Alex, Bronze and Derek are excellent and attentive ensuring guests at their bar needs are met. From a Sidecar pre dinner cocktail to post dessert cappuccino and the filet in between, this was truly a laid back enjoyable experience. I can't say enough good things about the staff, service, food quality and presentation. I'll certainly be back. The included picture is dessert, the vanilla bean crème brulee. Brilliantly spread out so you get the yummy "crunch" with every bite.
Drew Ruggiano
The French onion soup is amazing. The double cut pork chop was a little dry however packs a lot of flavor. Service is amazing as I would expect from a Dickie Brennan's restaurant. I would definitely recommend to try it.
July Soto
Great food. Awesome service. Excelent location. Beautiful building. This is Tableau in a nutshell.
S ss (Wanderer)
Excellent customer service and good food. There were many vegetarian options but I was looked after well. Had a off the menu cocktail French 75, just hit the spot. The place was a bit pricy for the quality of food. But then again is French cuisine 😂 …
Shona Dunne
Lovely staff. Great food and flavours. A wonderful New Orleans institution.
Marisol Barrera
Went this past weekend for dinner. Everything we had was so good. The staff from the host to the waiter were so friendly.
Genesis T
Was visiting the area and came here during happy hour. Was seated right away by the patio. Our sever was amazing, recommended the cheese sampler(delish). And drinks are off the hook, very refreshing( I got the watermelon Mojito).
Erika Washington
It was a lovely brunch with great cocktails and the grits were creamy and full of flavor. The crab claw appetizer was my favorite. Amazing 👏🏾.
Eunice Robles
The food was divine my wife's chicken was the tastiest I’ve ever hade and my Ribeye to die for, but that’s not why I would come back! We would come back just to be served by Jewell again she honestly is the highlight to this restaurant! Tableau make sure you give this woman her flowers while she is still working for you..
Catherine Young
A must visit! This restaurant not only has some of the most personable and accommodating staff I've encountered but food was also beyond delicious. Everyone in my party of five was raving about the food. I had the Filet o Beef a la Bordelaise and it is among the best steaks I've ever had.
Zindy Davis
Food was amazing, our waiter was excellent and we had a live band. I would recommend this to all of my friends to try if they ever visit.
Aaron Messer (K9KILO)
Was just ok..decent atmosphere but food was at best just ok. We spend alot of time in nola and this is one restaurant we will probably chalk off the list of ones we will return to.
Megan Jennings
We managed to snag a couple seats at the bar right before things got super busy here. I recommend getting reservations, but we got very lucky! Everything was incredible here, from the minute we walked in the door to the time we left. The staff was excellent and extraordinarily knowledgeable! You can tell this is a great group of people and they are so friendly. The welcoming atmosphere and treatment made me feel right at home. We got great suggestions for several other spots in town. I would highly recommend their truffle crab claws, their brunch fish special and the duck hash. *Chef's kiss*
Patrice Marshall
Wonderful experience! Brunch on weekdays should be law. This is located in a great spot for people watching. Definitely check it out!
Cherisse Borland
This restraunt has an absolutely phenomenal atmosphere, accompanied by exquisite decor. The wait staff is extraordinary attentive to your needs. The food is superb!
Amanda Almond
Absolutely fabulous! The food was so amazing we came back the very next morning. Our server was soooo sweet too. The second morning was probably 4/5 for both service and food but that's still not bad
Kevin Gibbs
Great food and service. Make sure to ask about their daily specials. We got a seat on the balcony and were able to witness all the action below.
Brenna Rastrelli
Best Creme Brulee! Enjoyed it,at the bar with a great glass of wine. Nice atmosphere at the bar
Lisa Sampair
Great balcony seating that over looks the market in the french quarter. You can seat eat drink and listen to the music on a saturday. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Especially those upstairs. A great time.
Chirag Patel
Beautiful large restaurant with a great variety of food. Had an awesome turtle soup.
Bil Schrader
Amazing food! The DUCK & ANDOUILLE GUMBO is one one the best things I have ever ate!
Adriana Carballido
Food excellent, delicious! Service was spectacular ✨✨✨✨✨✨
Jane Kirnarskaya
This was such a remarkable place, from the food being amazing (the french onion is to die for, the shrimp and grits are phenomenal), to the exceptional warmness felt from our waitress and the rest of the staff. I couldn't recommend this place more. The cherry ontop- the gorgeous terrace balcony we ate on. Thank you so very much for such a wonderful meal.
Kasey Garrett
I visited Tableau with a group of friends on a Friday night. Location is wonderful and convenient. We had the truffled crab claws for an appetizer and they were great. Friends had the pommes frites with various dipping sauces; each one I tasted was good. For the entree, I had the Gulf Fish Almondine, which was trout. The fish was delicious and I ate every last bit of the green beans and almonds. Our waitress was slightly abrasive and her personality didn't sit well with some of our group, but overall it was a good experience.
Sarah Leach
Delicious food, friendly staff, bright atmosphere. Great place to get unlimited mimosas.
vic bell
The redfish and crab claws were absolutely amazing and staff is very attentive. They also had a little three-man band coming around to each table with songs.
Hannah
Delicious and fresh food!
Nipun Gunawardena
I ate here my last night in New Orleans and it was delicious! I had the toy soldier cocktail, the duck, and the tarte a la bouillie. Everything tasted great. The service here was also really good. If you sit outside you can get a great view of the street. You don't need a jacket to get in, which is great if you're traveling and don't have one.
Dan Girard
We both had the filet, added crawfish - it was excellent! The wait staff is friendly. If you can get it, ask for the balcony. The view and people watching is great.
Sofie Bri
One of the staff that was outside was friendly and recommended that we eat here. We were greeted warmly by the hostess who sat us outside on the upstairs balcony which was a good view of the city. The staff was so kind and helpful. Our waiter was patient and knowledgeable about the menu. We order the gumbo, grilled chicken, shrimp romoulade and fish which were all flavorful. For dessert we had the delicious creme brule and fresh baked brownie with salted caramel ice-cream on top. I highly recommend this place.
Mark Johnson
Food was great, service was great and the mimosas were refreshing. I've been here twice and I had a great experience each time. The service is excellent! The men's bathroom was also super clean. This restaurant has seating downstairs, upstairs, and balcony seating. The windows downstairs provide beautiful daylight and a great view of the street.
Tonya S
One of my favourite restaurants in Jackson Square. Food, ambiance and staff are impeccable.
Brenda Boucher
Great food and wonderful drinks. It's located right off of Jackson Square. I had the Vegetarian Cassoulet.Big Yum!! Had the "Just as Well" best drink!
James Prewozniak
An absolutely wonderful dining experience. The gulf shrimp remoulade was a great starter. The shrimp & grits were some of the best we have ever had and the gulf fish almondine was absolutely phenomenal. We will return!
Elizabeth Broekman
Sitting on the balcony overlooking Jackson Square with a delicious meal is the perfect Nola experience
D C
Amazing. Order a Just As Well. It's a cocktail. Bourbon, rosemary syrup, lemon juice, shaken and topped with a smoldering rosemary sprig. The small plates are good, too.
Cynthia Cramblett
Delicious and beautifully presented. They have a gorgeous balcony and bar upstairs. I highly recommend this place.
Jeremy Wykel
Really liked this place. We sat on the balcony and were treated to some excellent jazz music coming from Jackson Square. I cannot recommend the Cajun french onion soup enough.
Lyn Morein
Always spot on. The food is amazing and if you can get the corner balcony table, overlooking Jackson Square, I would do it. Highly recommended!
Lilla Collins
Great menu items and happy hour discounts, with an active view of Jackson square people
M P
Had a dinner party here, everything was fine , but it wasn't anything special. Good customer service, but for the price we paid the food portions were very small. I was embarrassed that we paid so much and all of our family members ordered take out on the way home because they were still hungry. Bread pudding was really dry. Best thing about this place was the building itself. Everything else was fine but nothing that would make me want to return.
Narek Dshkhunyan
Beautiful views from their nice balcony. Not sure about the value proposition if sitting inside. Cocktails are well priced and tasty.
Misti Gaither
Amazing food .. thank you Chef Peter .. Kevin, Alex for the great ambience and everything!
Jema Harrilal
Where do I start? Our host Josh the as absolutely helpful and all of amazing ! We didn’t make reservations and were denied at the door due to everything being booked. We walked outside helpless and didn’t know where to go. Josh ran outside and grabbed us as soon as another couple canceled. He was so sweet, funny, and amazing. Our waiter Alex was so helpful and knowledgeable of the menu.. i had no idea what to get before he arrived. The mimosas by the liter are divine. Absolute great experience here couldn’t of asked for better. 🖤🖤
Slava Makovsky
Good food and nice atmosphere. Veal on grits was very good. They also serve a very good hamburger.
Jordyn Campbell
What a perfect spot for brunch!!! Great food, great service, a beautiful view, and live jazz!
Barbara Baldwin
I recently had my rehearsal dinner at Tableau and we had such a lovely experience! Stephanie worked so hard with us to reschedule the date several times due to Covid. She was an absolute dream and responded so quickly to each and every question/concern. The food was delicious and we had a great time in The Green Room utilizing the balcony was so fun for our out of town guests. Highly recommend!
mikebfit
Fantastic dinner, oysters were excellent, steak and redfish were fantastic. Service was also great. Great location in the French Quarter.
Edmund Fournier
The food was absolutely delicious. Portion size was very lean considering the price, however. I ordered the duck breast, which again was delicious but it was actually only half a duck breast & six pieces of gnocchi & some greens for $32. Our server was friendly but not very attentive. We weren’t asked about a second round of drinks & waited quite a long time to be asked about dessert or the check. I’d give 3.5 stars if it was an option.
Rosie
Food was delicious and restaurant setting is very comfortable. I didn't give it five stars because they sat us in the empty upstairs bar section with no explanation despite there being ample unreserved tables available in the main downstairs dining section.
Adam “Bison Court” D
The happy hour small plates are tremendous. The specialty cocktails are definitely worth the trip for spirits drinkers.
Samantha Spencer
The food was great and the service was exceptional! Kaylin was our server and she was fantastic!
Cathy Winkler
My personal favorite of all of the Brennan restaurants. Best spot to people watch and then see a play! Food is wonderful and service is perfect.
Jeffrey Meadows
Best steak I ever had...no kidding. It's a nicer, more upscale place. Not somewhere you want to wear a t-shirt and sweat shorts.
Jacquelyn Dallas
I went to celebrate 20 years with my better half! And I also went to see my best friend The staff is amazing!! Ms. Katie, Ms.Jewel, And Mr. Tyler Were amazing and gracious.. I cannot remember the names of my dishes I do know I had the shrimp and grits and the roasted chicken And some Fantastic appetizers, one with truffle butter and crabs, and the other with some kind of sauce that gives you a food gasm gasm yes a food gasm!!! I am legally blind so I cannot tell you how gorgeous they look, but my better half said they were awesome. We will be returning . The restaurant is so so laid back but yet very upscale and is for any walk of life that Decides to have a fantastic dining experience!!!!! To watch him interact and enjoy Himself with my best friend was so fulfilling and rewarding.
Gretta H
Most amazing food. Loved everything we tried.
Lisbeth Verenzuela
Amazing terrace! Great food and beverage options for happy hour. We enjoy it very much as it was 4pm so it wasn't that sunny. Perfect for a date.
Farris Alahmed
Beautiful atmosphere and absolutely amazing food. The service is one of the best in New Orleans!
Paul Seigfreid
I was very excited about eating at Tableau. I have eaten at other restaurants owned by Dicky Brennan and expected the highest quality of food at Tableau. The service was okay, the setting was spectacular. My shrimp and grits was a real disappointment. The five little shrimp were overcooked and greasy. My wife described her meal as fine.
Lynn West
We stopped in Tableau for a quick bite to eat and a glass of wine. We were greeted warmly by Taylor and Devon. We ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo, Caesar salad, and wine. We had a blast visiting with the gals and other patrons. Then we ordered the creme brûlée-It was spectacular! We’re coming for a visit at Christmas time and will have our reservations made!!!
Thank y’all for a fabulous experience! Cheers to Taylor & Devon🍾🥂🙏🎉🍷
Paul Wisler Jr.
Great ambiance and location overlooking the Saint Louis Cathedral off the balcony. You should take a tour and experience the rich history of the building one of the oldest in the French quarter.
John Imm (John)
One of my new favorites in NOLA. Great service, great food. The creme Brule and cheesecake were perfect.
Nikki Evans
Great food, great service.
Bre P
I was passing through for work last week and decided to stop here for brunch. The BBQ shrimp and grits were on another level. Just amazing! I hopped around Bourbon Street, made some new friends, and when it was time to eat again, I insisted we come back to Tableau for dinner. This time I had the duck breast. SO juicy and flavorful! Their customer service is top notch too! Next time work brings me to New Orleans I'll definitely come back to eat again! Good job, you guys!
Katlyn Mityga
Excellent experience with Jewell. She did a great job of taking care of us, being personable, fun, and knowledgeable making great recommendations. The food was delightful and very delicious. They let you take your time with your meal and enjoy the ambiance. We were fortunate enough to sit in their center courtyard and really had a great time.
Alex Smythers
In town for the night and ordered UberEats to my hotel, given a day-of reservation was unachievable. The delivery was amazingly fast and was received less than 45 minutes later. The Gumbo was good, but the BBQ Shrimp & Grits were excellent! I will visit again when I am back in town!
Alexander Fellman
Tableau is an amazing experience, but very expensive. The food lived up to the quality of the Brennan name, and the portions were reasonably sized, though felt small for the price.
Still, an excellent experience.
erica Murillo
Amazing atmosphere. Loved the crepes and Juevos dish.
Beth Raymond
Awesome food every time. Will keep going back. Excellent.
Steven Rogus
Creative and delicious cocktails (we didn't have food but it's probably good) in an upscale setting. Not so upscale you can't go in with a t-shirt, but certainly not a place for Jaeger bombs and beers.
The cocktails were subtle twists on classics that showed a great understanding of the fundamentals of crafting cocktails. Well done.
alex beckerson
Really excellent. Quality of food is top notch. Good place for a special meal.
Alicia Green
We didn't have reservations, so we sat at the bar. Unfortunately they were out of oysters, but the French onion soup was good, especially if you like it extra cheesy. Raelle is a talented bartender that goes above and beyond and is super friendly. Plus, her mojito was on point. I highly recommend having a seat there if they don't have a table available.
penelope vargas
The atmosphere was wonderful. We had a table overlooking the courtyard. The staff was so courteous and friendly, and the food was exceptional. Our daughter, son- in- law, and grandson drove down from Alabama to have dinner with us at Tableau. We all had a wonderful, memorable time. Definitely someplace we will go again!
Timothy Vines
Food was really great. I had the duck and tasted their steak. Both were amazing
Erik Malin
Do not miss out on the turtle soup or the sweetbreads.
Rosemarie DiSalvo
Beautiful decor, delicious appetizers and creative cocktails.
Stephanie P.
Wow, this place was delicious! We weren't sure if we wanted to go because we weren't so hungry. I am so glad that we went. This was my favorite dinner by far on our trip.
Stevie Saile
Wonderful dishes and wonderful staff. We accidentally came in for the Thanksgiving meal and it turned out to be terrific. Everything was expertly prepared and served. Would accidentally do it again and a few more times on purpose.
Anthony Hsieh
2F balcony got good view and brunch burger is good .
Greg Finch
The food was delicious. The service was marginal.
Nicole
Delicious food and great atmosphere. We sat on the balcony. Vaccination proof and masks required. Waiter graciously gave us a quick historical tour around the restaurant after dinner.
Joan Strother
Seafood gumbo was great! Very nice atmosphere, servers so wonderful!!
ankita upadhayay
A perfect brunch place. If you are celebrating something, the staff do efforts above and beyond to make sure you feel special on the occasion. The service is fast, food is good and portions are enough. You get treats in between from the chef and good recommendations. I tried oysters for the first time and I am looking forward to try them next time. And not to forget they play music for you at the table, and especially sings for you as per the occasion. Definitely recommend this place. Just don't forget to book a reservation in advance. It helps them plan in advance and you won't regret it. Believe me.
Bob Edwards
Forgot my drinks…twice…Had soup, forgot salad, entree (Cajun pastalaya) was ok, not great but ok. Bread pudding was a hard dense chunk of bread with berry little sauce. I live in New Orleans and it was not anywhere near the standard that we are accustomed to.
Tess Dunn
So incredible! We stumbled upon Tableau and it was way beyond what we could’ve hoped. The courtyard is so charming with lovely lights and French music, very well spaced tables, and Jewell was absolutely incredible. She went above and beyond, even going so far as to make a copy of the gnocchi recipe I slurped down. Prime location, amazing food, delicious cocktails - just go :)
Liz Smith
This place is worth every penny! I was hesitant to visit because I have a child, but the waiter and host were so great with my son! Also, they have a kid's menu. The food is outstanding, atmosphere is great, and service is amazing! This is definitely a must visit! 🙌 …
Jake Adams
First time having Turtle soup and loved it! Definitely recommend for an authentic New Orleans experience in the French Quarter! Our server Sarah was very attentive and friendly!
Lauren DeGiacomo
We had to make a last minute decision and cancel our reception ( Covid) and have our wedding dinner in the library room and we couldn’t have been happier. Our first time in NOLA (2016), we ate here and remember how amazing everything was. But this April, we were blown away.
The communication from Stephanie was top notch. I know she had multiple clients, but she made me feel like I was her only one! She would respond within minutes most days. She made the process go so smoothly. My only regret was not meeting her in person after the months of emails. Being from NY and planning a wedding in New Orleans during Covid was an experience but I knew we were in great hands with Stephanie.
The food was incredible, the balcony was wonderful and the service was amazing. Toward the end of the night , the servers walked in with trays of beignets for us. This was a total surprise and we are beyond grateful. Stephanie knew it was important for us to have beignets and she and the owners made it happen.
Highly recommend this place for everything (location , food , service , party , courtyard ) and cannot wait to go back ever year when we visit the area.
Third Phone
We had the most beautiful romantic dinner on their upstairs balcony while live music played below in front of the church/square. Food was amazing as well. This is a great place for a special occasion. *We were last here before the Covid-19 shutdowns.
Leon Telyaz
Great New Orleans cuisine
Tomek Plonski
Good food, a little bit small portions but tasty
Scott Aldridge
Elegant atmosphere, we had the best evening in a New Orleans restaurant. Visiting the city for over 30 years, this place delivered for setting, service, and food. I test the kitchen for very traditional fare. Looking for quality, not too much innovation on classics. Turtle soup, Shrimp and Grits more than satisfied my requirements and excelled with my guest's Red Snapper.
Will return here in April for more of this place.
Amos Yeung
Great place at the heart of French Quarter - they have a upstairs as well, which truly gives you a feel of French vibes. We came here for a drink upstairs and we ordered 3 drinks but unfortunately the bar tender seemed a bit forgetful and forget to serve one drink and he charged us. We had to remind him not to charge but nevertheless great vibes and escape from the summer heat.
Matteson Hansen
This place is amazing, the courtyard seating is so beautiful but the food is literally mouthwatering. The Gumbo is one of the best dishes I’ve had and I highly recommend the shrimp and grits! The waitstaff is so friendly and welcoming I would recommend this place to everyone!
Regina Bright
Excellent food, service, and ambiance 🥰
I started with the shrimp remoulade for an appetizer and BBQ Shrimp and grits; best I ever had and would highly recommend!
When you visit, please ask for Jewell... best server with a bubbly personality... made me want to hang out all day! 🥰
Alexandria Robinson
Wish I could give more stars!! We bring everyone that visits us to Tableau, we’re regulars for their brunch and love everything about it! The band for Sunday brunch is so freaking cute and we look forward to seeing our friend’s faces when they come to the table to play. The food - amazing. I usually get the French onion soup, 6 oysters, and the veal & grits. The only thing is I wish they used champagne or Prosecco in their mimosas instead of sparkling wine, I usually opt out of bottomless and get mixed drink or Bloody Mary.
Ashley Bateman
Delicious food and the wait staff and chefs were super accommodating about our whole table having special diet needs. Great luncheon, zero rushing, superb service. They even changed up one of the daily specials to have zero starch on the plate. Salads were beautiful, spinach was dreamy and all of the fish dishes were perfect!
Jason Dixon
Not too bad. Seems a bit overpriced, but welcome to New Orleans.
Amanda Fritts
We were able to get a table on the balcony without a reservation on a Saturday night and were delighted! The service is incredible and the food is delicious. We tried the shrimp and grits, steak, crawfish tails, gumbo, oysters, and chicken. Everything was lovely! When they ask if you want a side of crawfish tails - say YES. One of the best things we ate. I would definitely go back next time we visit!
Bryanna Besch
While the service may have left something to be desired, the food and drinks more than made up for it. The gnocchi appetizer consisted of heavenly little potato pillows on a plate bathing in brown butter. The classic daiquiri (lime, rum, and simple syrup), were tart but tasty. And the French onion soup... probably the best I’ve ever had.
Scott Pledger
Both the food and the staff here were fantastic. The Redfish was absolutely perfectly seasoned and cooked, the Chicken breast was fabulously seasoned, and the cocktail supreme. However the standout item was undoubtedly the Tableau Lemonade. Well worthy of a Michelin star, if the gave them out here.
Greg McCrory
Staff and service were excellent. Appetizers were good, beet salad was good.
However, the redfish had a mushy texture, meaning it was frozen, probably more than once. I took off two stars for this, as there is no reason for a quality restaurant in South Louisiana to not have fresh fish daily.
Connor MacKenzie
We came here for an afternoon snack and drinks. Chad at the upstairs bar was a great bartender. He told us amazing stories and recommendations. Highly recommend him
Behrang
We had a private session in the Wine Room and had a pretty good experience. The food was just okay for New Orleans which has some of the best food in the south. The room that we reserved and our personal waiting service were great and took super care of our rowdy group.
Would definitely recommend for groups to get a private room.
Dr. Dave
What a gem! We walked into this place on a saturday with a party of 3 and were able to be seated immediately. We did bottomless mimosas and brunch. The food was carefully made, plated beautifully, and very tasty. Each dish was unique. The staff was very polite and kind. The bathrooms were accessible and clean. Downstairs is a high-class dining room and upstairs is a more casual dining area with beautiful open windows - definitely worth going on a nice sunny day. We will be back!
Jenny Contenta
Great food, wonderful service...grossed out by roaches crawling on walls.
Jerry Ratigan
May 2021 Update - still a 5 Star French Quarter favorite!
Tableau is one of my favorite spots for enjoying an upscale dining and drinking experience. We normally go just for the happy hours and great cheese plates, but we decided to live on the edge and book our New Years' Eve meal. What a great decision. Truly remarkable staff and food. Everything was cooked to perfection and we definitely ended 2016 on a high note.
Michael Trainor
Had a slightly late brunch on the upstairs patio the first weekend dining capacity increased. Have patience, since they are busy, but if you are, the service is top notch every step of the process, the drinks are carefully crafted, and the food is spot on fantastic. The Truffled Crab Claws, a French 75 do drink, and the Tarte a la Bouille are standout menu items. Fantastic experience!
Alex Kogan
Had an amazing dinner here our first night in town. The food is unique and well prepared. The truffled crab claws are delicious and a must for anyone visiting. We also had the brown butter gnocchi and the turtle soup which are outstanding. Get the quail or if in the mood for red meat the filet of beef melts in your mouth. The staff and service were excellent. Our best dinner in NOLA!
Jen Taber
This was our favorite meal for our trip to New Orleans. We had brunch on their patio and the atmosphere was excellent as well as the service and the food and drinks were so good. Shrimp and grits were the best I've ever had!
Mike Shields
We just came for dessert. It was quite good.
Jeff Johns
Once again outstanding service at this Dickie Brennan restaurant. App - entree - desert were all excellent. Great bar service as well.
Alfredo Panciera
Very good place, the food, wines, cocktails and service are excellent.
Ashley C.
Great food, great service! Went to NOLA on vacation. We liked Tableau so much, we went back a second time. Favorite menu items: French Onion soup, Creme Brulee, Dutch Baby (only available during lunch), and the Tableau Lemonade. It's an upscale place located in the French Quarter. Great place to go on a date or after a day of shopping!
Elsa R
Joshua was very considerate and had great recommendations.
The beans that accompanied the pork were phenomenal!
The place was upbeat and had a nice colonial style with a nice courtyard.
Erica Cuascut
Beautiful restaurant! Amazing food, drinks, dessert and hospitality
Travis Thompson
Be prepared to take your time. But this is a beautiful restaurant with a really great menu and we'll executed drink list. If you're a wine person they have an expansive collection. There aren't many very friendly options, but what they have is great and the service staff is usually good about working with the kitchen to make sure you're taken care of.
Candice Lopez
For our last night in New Orleans, we decided to dine at Tableau. The food, staff and atmosphere were absolutely amazing. A few of us ordered from the prix fixe menu to try as much of the menu as possible - everything was amazing. We were in town celebrating my bachelorette and were not disappointed by the experience. The manager - Louis - found out what we were celebrating and took it upon himself to make our evening even more memorable. He allowed us into the courtyard for pictures, gave us a tour and even gave us recommendations for our last night in NOLA. I will definitely be returning to Tableau the next time I visit "The Big Easy"
Dawn Polen
The food was phenomenal! Our server was really, really slow, but we very much enjoyed our meal and will highly recommend this establishment.
Edward 777
Very nice atmosphere, excellent waiter, decent prices, good food. I asked my waiter for his recommendation on a local beer, and he described several. I chose one, and when he came back with that, he also gave me a complimentary sampler flight of the other beers. He was very nice to me, my wife, and my daughter. He got a big tip. The receptionist was also very nice. We felt welcomed and well taken care of. This restaurant was definitely a good experience. I would go back to this restaurant when in the French Quarter.
John T Rex
Had the duck gumbo. It had a nice flavor but would have been a lot better if it had some actual visible duck in it. My bowl had a couple pieces of sausage but was basically roux and rice
Olivia Allen
Amazing experience! Nick the manager is amazing along with our wait staff Felicia and Josh. They were all very attentive and took great care of our party. The food was to die for. Great local seafood. The steaks melted in your mouth. We also received a tour from Nick. He knows so much about the restuarant and the buildings! I will definitely be going back!
Corey Hogan
I went here with my fiance for happy hour and to enjoy the upstairs patio view of Jackson Square. We enjoyed our drinks and our appetizers. The weather that day was amazing, and there was a nice breeze. We probably ended up there for a little too long, but we didn't mind. I would like to go back and try their dinners, but that will have to wait for the next trip.
Jeff Hart
Had no reservations, but my wife and I were quickly seated at the bar, with pleasant jazz background music, a pleasant barkeep who served some great shrimp remoulade and eggplant sticks. Good relaxing time in the crazy French Quarter
Syidah Abdullah
My husband and I were in town for a conference 4/5 - 4/9. We ate dinner at Tableau with two other friends and had a wonderful time. Our drinks, appetizer, entrees, and desserts were amazing. But our service was even better!!! Katie was our server and she was beyond FABULOUS. I'm not a drinker, but while in the "Big Easy," I thought "why not?" She recommended a drink that I loved, the "Lady Dubois." I was considering the barbeque shrimp & grits and she confirmed my choice. She even asked the kitchen staff to remove the head and tails for me! It was delicious. But we ALL agreed that Katie made a wonderful meal out with friends MORE Wonderful. She is personable, knowledgeable, funny, etc. Just overall AMAZING!!! Thanks Katie :)
Paige Muehlberg
We had a business dinner at Tableau and everything about it was wonderful. Jazz and Ashley were amazing servers. Our dinner was supposed to be in the Parlor room and they took us to see the Wine room and it was so beautiful! We asked if we could switch to the Wine room and they pulled some strings for us. Everything from the service to the drinks to the food was top-tier. We will definitely be back if we have another business meeting there!
Daniela Dimas
Best brunch I have ever had! Mimosas are so good and the food beyond my expectations. We came as a group of 4 and we tried many dishes and loved every single one. My favorites were the bbq shrimp + grits and the eggs gayoso. We chose outside seating and it was just perfect!
bailey prince
This place is AMAZING the seafood is fresh the portions are perfect and they have the best mimosas I have ever tasted our servers Tara and Andrew were wonderful and made our dining experience exceptionally pleasant. Also their French bread is hands down the best bread I’ve ever had. I wish I could give this place more stars I am so impressed.
Taran Stadanlick
One of the best experiences i have had to date. Marlon was our main waiter with help from Justin. Both were fantastic and Marlon was very attentive and seems to go above and beyond. The food...... The food was out of this world. Thank you for a great dining experience.
Timothy Binns
We just had our wedding this past weekend at Tableau, and it was AMAZING!! The space is elegant, and well maintained, with a gorgeous courtyard. We had our ceremony in the courtyard, with a private dinner in the Green Room. The food was EXCELLENT, beautifully presented, and absolutely on point with timing. The drinks were fantastic (no weak pours here). Beyond all of that, the staff!! I was so deeply impressed by the quality of service!! They were highly professional, friendly, courteous, kind, and genuinely interested in our party and providing top-notch care. our wedding was stuff made of dreams, and Tableau and its excellent staff are a huge factor in that! They have earned a life-long customer!
Anna Driggers
The hostess was very attentive while we waited and quite pleasant. Our waiter wasn't very accommodating when I asked If they had soy sauce the waiter was short with a we don't have that here. He seemed annoyed and didn't offer or suggest any of the soy sauces that I later saw accompanied some of the dishes. We came during the cafe menu the chicken tableue was delicious and I do recommend that. The gnocchi left something to be desired. The children got chicken strips that were extremely dry and apparently they do not have ranch or any alternative dipping sauces to ketchup.
Philip Gilbert
Very comfortable, welcoming atmosphere, enhanced by gracious personnel. We felt like we were at home with friends! Beverage and food selections were deliciously described. Our server, Chris, was patient and caring, very knowledgeable about preparations and what foods complement each other.
We were served drinks and courses with perfect timing. The food was incredibly delicious. We enjoyed shrimp and veal dishes that were uniquely and perfectly prepared. The garlic and mushroom preparation in an aromatic butter sauce was phenomenal. The Monkeybread dessert finished off the perfect meal! Can't wait to get back to NO, if only to dine there again!
pedro jorge
The food was delicious and our server, Josh, was excellent! He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience, and we really appreciated that. Will definitely visit again next time in the city.
Rob P
We were looking for a nice, upscale dinner on a patio or balcony. boom we found Tableau which offered just that. We sat on the balcony overlooking the busy streets. I ordered the shrimp and grits which was pretty solid, my girlfriend ordered the chicken tableau which was also pretty good. Our issue was with the drinks. The first glasses of water that came were absolutely filthy. I wiped the rim of my glass with the napkin and it looked like I cleaned the bumper of my car. Informed the waitress, who was very nice and they brought us 2 new glasses. Great! Well these glasses had a lot of black material in the bottom of each glass. A clean glass of water should not be this difficult...
Carlos Lee
This is our favorite brunch spot! My wife and I go at least once a week. We enjoy the atmosphere, food, and friendly staff. The only downside is that they don't make their mimosas with champagne but that rarely stops us from ordering them.
Devin Kennedy
Absolutely a wonderful place to eat. I have had plenty of fine dining expieriences but nothing like this. The staff was incredibly generous and welcoming, and the kitchen is putting out true works of art. The location is wonderful and the ambience was perfect. All and all, this is a one of a kind expierience. Me and my wife could not have asked for a better dinner before our wedding.
Zach Anderson
The cheese board was one of the best I've ever had. Really clean place an somewhat upscale. Our waiter and waitress (for some reason we had two) were both incredibly friendly. The sidecar was delicious and perfectly sweet.
Kim Savage
The food was spectacular. The service by Ricardo and Steve was perfection. We love to dine and enjoy our meal. The experience we had at Tableau couldnt have been better. One of the best Brennan's properties. We will definitely return.
Levi Ponder
Shrimp tacos were so delicious! Service was on the slower side but we did have a bigger group. No complaints. Definitely a must stop place while in NOLA!
Keesha
I've been wanting to try this restaurant and I finally got my chance. Great food, friendly service. My server was able to answer any question that I had about the entrees. I would definitely eat at Tableau again.
Kevin Clifford
The food was only surpassed by the service.
Our waitress was knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly.
I will go back my next trip to New Orleans
Donielle Turner
Visited while on vacation with friends. We sat on the balcony. It was so beautiful. Food was absolutely delicious. Drinks were amazing! Service was impeccable. I will definitely visit this restaurant again on my next trip to New Orleans.
Cyberstorm
Awesome service and food. The French-onion soup and chicken-sausage gumbo were both amazing and our very enthusiastic host gave us a detailed history of the building and showed much interest in our visit to New Orleans, great experience here!
Elisse Kenaley
The appetizers, entrees, drinks and service were wonderful. I think you could find better dessert elsewhere. We sat on the balcony to eat which was a wonderful experience overlooking Jackson Square. Unfortunately, they were out of propane so it was quite chilly but overall it was a great experience and our waitress was wonderful
Chad Hartsell
The shrimp is the most amazing shrimp I've had in my life!! Very romantic restaurant with a wonderful wine list. The whole menu is excellent. Tip: If you get a chance, ask to view the upstairs rooms that are made available to rent out for events. The first room you walk into will not be what you expect. See if a worker there can tell you the story of the rooms.. You won't regret it..
Rav cell
Perfect location and good food
ANGELINA NEWBOLD
The food was AMAZING and the service was wonderful! I had the best red fish dish I've ever had in New Orleans. The crawfish was very tender, not rubbery at all. My husband had shrimp and grits. I'm not a fan of grits AT ALL, but the grits here were phenomenal. The peach shortcake was terrific as well. Fairly pricy and upscale but the food is definitely worth the cost. The only thing we ordered that I didn't care for was the turtle soup .... It's definitely an acquired taste. Overall, this is by far my new favorite restaurant in New Orleans. We will definitely be visiting here again!!
Jacob Bowen (Jake)
Outstanding restaurant, everything is freshly made and delicious! The ambiance makes you feel as if you are in a french cafe. The location is superb because you can hear the jazz bands playing at Jackson Square while you eat. The server was fantastic and made great recommendations. I would recommend using open table to get a reservation as we went on a Monday for lunch and they weren't taking anyone without a reservation.
Christophe Diot
beautiful restaurant and decent food. Excellent service. We had lunch outdoor on the balcony while someone was playing music in the street. It was overall a great experience.
Adrian Cumberbatch
Great food, excellent service. A true New Orleans experience on the higher end
Gurl InLA
In town with a group of girlfriends celebrating one of their birthdays. Came across this place while looking for a nice place to dine. Located in the french quarter area but away from Bourbon street so it wasn't loud and rowdy. The restaurant is two stories with a nice second floor balcony which we requested to be seated.
The dinner menu is simple and price isn't cheap so if you're looking for cheap eats, go elsewhere. Because I wasn't very hungry, I just opted for the roasted pear salad ($10) and added a side of chicken ($8). The girls all had main entrees with sides. The food was just OK for me, good enough to satisfy me for the evening.
The service is top notch though!
Stevie Beard
We had our rehearsal dinner here in one of the private dining rooms. It was wonderful...the staff and the food! It’s a beautiful place. We had a balcony off of our dining room overlooking a courtyard. The location is wonderful...right there on the corner of Jackson Square. They made us a special menu for the occasion. Every course was delicious!
Carol B
This restaurant was wonderful!! It was completely packed for NYE, but we managed to get seats at the bar, and it was so much fun! I had the gnocchi and a salad, and both were yummy! My husband had the redfish, and he really enjoyed it!
Mario Martinez
I was there this past weekend with my wife and friends. The food exceeded my expectations and the service we received was superb! We had reservations and the table was ready. No wait, no hassles. Like I said, superb service. They have live music as well just to top it off. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Trish Everett
Phenomenal food and fantastic service. lovely atmosphere, calm and quiet but right off of the busy area around Jackson Square. A gorgeous spot to cool off and get spectacular food and happy hour drinks. Introduced us to our new favorite beverage, the Dark & Stormy.
Bogdan Gologan
The only reason for so many stars is the excellent food. Would give even less because of poor service, but the food is good. Excellent flavors, creative matchings, good wine and cocktails. Now for the service. We felt rushed the entire time. Our entree was plopped down before we even finished our salad, and got cold and congealed as we finished the salad. Both servers assigned to our table had no warmth. We've eaten around the world at places that define themselves as "upscale" like this one, but usually great, well timed service matches great food. Not here (although we didn't have high expectations based on previous reviews!) Also worthy noting : the creme brulee is all brulee, barely any creme, on a flat plate . If you like the caremelized hard sugar, you'll love it. If you expect actual "creme" in your creme brulee, do not order. We left it on the edge of the table 1/4 eaten. Again, would have expected at least a question from the server about whether we didn't like it, but that's expecting too much :) We won't be back due to how many awesome food spots there are in French Quarter, but if you don't mind lame service, it is good (high end) food.
Jamie Norris
Bottomless mimosas! Waiters are quick and food was good

Love the drinks here and brunch. One of my favorites when I visit New Orleans! I love coming here for evening drinks and dessert as well. The bar tenders are always very nice to chat with and the atmosphere is beautiful. And perfectly situated in the French quarter right near the cathedral.

Food was good, but our experience was less than satisfactory which was very unfortunate as we had picked the place for our one night out without the kids. After asking if seating was available outside, we were asked to wait while the table got cleared. After waiting 15 minutes and no sign of the table getting cleared, we returned to the hostess and asked to just sit inside. They sat us but were unapologetic. Service for the remaining of our experience was oddly slow. Lots of waiting between ordering, appetizers, entrees, asking for the check, getting the check, etc. Service is so important for a fine dining establishment, and for not having a pleasurable experience on a special night out for us, we left wishing we had gone to one of many other wonderful places in New Orleans.

We had booked Tableau for our rehearsal dinner of around 50 guests for 7/11 and were supposed to get married at a different venue on 7/12. Due to Tropical Storm Barry, we were faced with the decision to either cancel our wedding or throw together another wedding with about half the people. Since we are from out of town just cancelling and rescheduling was not an option for us and plus we really wanted to get married. I had never even been to Tableau before my wedding day. At around 6 pm on 7/10 we came up with a plan with our event coordinator, Amanda Price to use Tableau for our wedding instead of a rehearsal dinner. I am so happy with our decision. Not only is Tableau gorgeous it has amazing food and the staff was so nice and accommodating. Stephanie Aubrey worked with our coordinator and pulled together a whole wedding with all the rest of our vendors. I can not recommend them enough for a party big or small. Even though this is not how I imagined my wedding would be, it surpassed every expectation that I had and really was one of the best days of my life. Thank you Tableau for really putting on a class act and making my new wedding day so special.

Cochon du lait was excellent. Try the rosemary lemonade. An interesting twist on lemonade. While the country style steak is an upscale version, the quality of the meat used was lacking, too much gristle. Flavor was outstanding. Beautiful old orleans building. Prices fairly reasonable for level of food. Wait staff team, so good service, although water glasses were not refilled. Only a problem for someone like me, who has to drink a lot of water. Too full to try the desserts. What I saw looked delicious. If you are driving, plan on an extra 20 bucks for parking for two hours.

We love this restaurant. The jazz brunch is great and the dinner is normally a nice upscale experience, except for Sunday the 27th of May. We brought our parents into town and when we walked in i knew we should have walked back out. They had rented the top floor out to a wedding reception. Our normal relaxing jazz music was ruined by Usher and the electric slide. The music was so loud even by the kitchen that it was distracting. Some customers were moving away from the stairs but to no avail. Its a bit disappointment that when paying hundreds of dollars for a meal and it is substandard.

Great menu, service was superb.

What a restaurant!!! Everything is well worth the experience. Here on holiday from New Zealand and looking for a local fine dining experience with local cuisine. FOUND IT! There was not one single downside to this experience. From the girls at the door to the waiting staff, everything was top notch. Nick the manager takes time out to talk to every customer - that was a really nice touch. Don’t leave New Orleans until you’ve been here - a real bucket-list experience.

Ate here last night for dinner. Not going to lie, it started off Rocky with a horrible hostess who stared at us, and then rudely asked "can I help you".
Fast forward to dinner, it was so delicious and our waiter Karl was awesome and super accommodating. Everyone is so nice and willing to help. Basically everything would have been perfect had we not had that first impression.

Great atmosphere and great shrimp and grits!

Great Location, beautiful garden seating and atmosphere, unfortunately the food was not impressive , the shrimp and grits was tasteless and the risotto with mushroom and added shrimp was a big disappointment.
I wish i could give it a 5 star.

What a great experience. Great food. Amazing service

The atmosphere is nice. The bar where we chose to eat was vacant when we got there. The bartender was standoffish and not very hospitable. We ordered the turtle soup (more chunky and heavy thick even with the extra sherry than I am used to with a heavier lemon flavor) (Arnaud's still the best) but it was still good. The gumbo was bland (Coops has my favorite). The wedge salad was good. The black truffle crab claws were also good if you like black truffle. The shrimp remoulade was light in the flavor of the remoulade, but the dish overall was good with the relish and the fried green tomatoes. We stopped with appetizers and decided to dine elsewhere. I would go back and try dinner or brunch even as the menu looked appetizing. But the staff seemed bothered and got busy so we opted to leave. The hostess was kind upon entrance and exit.

Tableau remains a favorite for our family. The restaurant is the embodiment of upscale casual, with a warm but quiet atmosphere and plenty of seating options. The menu is great at any time of day, but their happy hour is far and away the best available in the Quarter.

This review would be 4 stars if it was for the food and cocktails alone, but the treatment we got from our server, Sam, earned the fifth. We sat on the balcony with beautiful views of Jackson Square, and Sam made sure we had everything we needed and made wonderful recommendations. We were also celebrating our recent engagement, and Sam took care of our desserts and coffee. Great experience on a Sunday afternoon in NoLa.

Soups: The french onion soup was good exactly what you'd want and expect. The gumbo was also on point. The roux was rich and full of flavor. We also had the turtle soup. It wasn't good. Not a lot of meat and very salty. For entrees: BBQ shrimp and grits were just OK. Not the best I've ever had. Over seasoned and again too salty. I think the sauce could have used more butter, cream and time to reduce. The other dish we ordered was the veal ossobuco. The sauce was delicious. Lastly atmosphere: This is a win. We sat in the patio area. It was nice. Not the nicest in the quarter but its a nice place for a meal. The building simply put is beautiful. You can step out the front door of the restaurant and be on Jackson square.

This restaurant is amazing. The Spanish architectural design and plantation detailed courtyard are perfect setting for your dining experience. The shredded pork over a bed of cornbread was outstanding and the Sweet potatoes latkes mouth watering. Deliciously beautiful. You've got to try it.

Great, nice, and quick staff. Food was perfect. Get a reservation before 7 because it filled up quick after that.

The location is everything! If you can get an upstairs balcony seat, then the food is an afterthought. Just soak in the sights and sounds of Jackson Park! The food is good typical NOLA faire, though, so you won't be disappointed. I'd recommend choosing a second spot for dessert.

Unparalleled views of Jackson Square, great brunch, prices lower than you would expect for the location.

This is a pretty touristy place, which is easily identified by the price. I was with co-workers. So it fit. Service is phenomenal. Food is good, nothing special. However, this not the place you're looking for if you're in search of genuine NOLA cuisine.

Fine dining establishment. Great wait staff. Great water refills. Kitchen was timely and accurate.
I had the bbq shrimp and grits. Seen it on lots of menu so I thought I'd try it. Very different. Not sure I like them mixed but at least they were separated. The grits were very tasty. The bbq was great. This meal is very good but not ideal for people who not like foods to mixed/touching.
The pear salad was delicious. The portion was on the small side.
The chicken entree was huge. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were seasoned nicely. Only issue was that it contained mushrooms which was not listed on the menu.

The food was AMAZING. it most definitely is a high-end restaurant but you get your monies worth. I started with turtle soup, which I loved (it was my first time eating it) then had shrimp and grits. The shrimp were huge and they completely covered the grits, yummy!

Steven was a great server! & Luis was a fantastic manager! Loved them, they made us feel welcomed and recommended the best of the best items on the menu 💖 …

Great atmosphere. The outside patio is awesome and the food is on par. They have a very decent beer selection and the food is on point, but what else can you expect from a Dickie Brennan. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the staff were very responsive.

After a beautiful Christmas Eve Mass at St. Louis Cathedral, we crossed the street with hopes for a table-for-four. We were not disappointed as we were lead to the balcony. Heaters placed throughout made the chilly evening enjoyable. From the friendly staff to our amazing meal, this was a truly wonderful dining experience. I encourage all to invest in a meal at Tableau - raw oysters, good wine, amazing food in wonderful company overlooking Jackson Square. This made for an unforgettable Christmas. Thank you!

It was good, but not great. Of course the service was impeccable and the good was good. The interior design makes me feel like I'm in a suburban strip mall or an old restoration hardware store. Wish the design made you feel like you were on Jackson Square, in the French Quarter. No charm, no ambiance... missed the mark
Brandon Gross
Balcony view was great for people watching. The food and service were outstanding. The creme brulee was a highlight of the evening.

It can be tough to find a great meal deep in the heart of the Quarter which makes Tableau super special. The food is flavorful and balanced without being super heavy; it's a home-cooked meal in a very large format restaurant. On weekend brunch they have a jazz band that will play standards for you while you sip on cocktails and enjoy your meal.

UPDATE 9/2019 - We've just returned to Tableau for a special occasion. I personally didn't care for the table we were seated at (near a lot of traffic going in an out the kitchen and the restroom), but my wife didn't seem to mind (her back was to all of it) so I didn't quibble.
As before great atmosphere and gracious staff. This time I tried their gulf shrimp remoulade for starters (I'd have preferred more remoulade sauce) and she, the crystal shrimp. She said it was very good. For entrees, we had fillet of beef bordelaise and redfish bienville. Both were prepared to perfection.
Excellent, on point service, and another quite enjoyable evening. Highly recommended.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
We recently dined here one evening, for the first time. Nice atmosphere and very gracious staff. I had the Oysters Bienville for "starters" and for the entree, Filet of Beef a la Oscar (with crabmeat). And my wife, Shrimp Remoulade, and Redfish Bienville.
The topping on my oyster starter was okay, and of the shrimp, the Mrs said she'd had better. I asked the waitress about the Filet of Beef and she confirmed it was Filet Mignon, though I'd wondered why they didn't just call it that.
Further the waitress advised that the blue crab butter sauce on my wife's entree was "infused" with elements of crabmeat, but that either crabmeat or crawfish tail toppings could be ordered for an extra charge.
We thought it should've come that way up front, hence the four stars instead of five.
Otherwise both entrees were very good, and the meal and overall ambiance, quite enjoyable.
We'll surely be back.

This was a beautiful spot we had lunch at. The drinks were good and the red fish was fantastic. You do need a reservation as we tried to walk in earlier in the week and could not get in. The staff were polite and made good recommendations. We tried some of the other fancy restaurants and they were not as polite or welcoming.
