Wish I lived here just for this spot — I’d definitely be a regular!! The flavor, portions, and price just can’t be beat!! Plus the staff were so sweet. I’m gluten free, and my favorites were the mushrooms and gravy, collards, and potato salad. My sister loved the jambalaya, okra gumbo, and cornbread. And you MUST get the sweet potatoes and a scoop of ice cream while you’re there!!

Amazingly good vegan food here. Had the orange cauliflower shepherd’s pie and veggie fried rice. Others had jambalaya and Mac N Cheese. All of it was really delicious and well spiced. A one item main dish would have been plenty (I got two)
Food is served cafeteria style in to go dishes that seal well to take home. Casual dining and friendly service. Also very clean.
Closes at 5 so get there early. Next time I’ll get it to go and eat at home. No alcohol served if that’s an issue.

Just amazing!! Very delicious soul food, and 100% vegan. The atmosphere was so welcoming here. We loved the fried cauliflower and cashew Mac and cheese. It was a great experience and we will definitely be back.

This place is fanatic! I went here with a vegetarian friend, she was over the moon. The flavors are amazing. Idk how they make cauliflower taste so good but oh my goodness they do! Super impressive. Everything from the sweet and sour cauliflower, to the sweet potatoes, and Mango/Pineapple Juice was excellent. Great flavors, super vegan food and the serving! Excellent so happy we found this place. 😀

This place is amazing! I was scared that being vegan would cause me to miss out on all the amazing NOLA flavours. The best item on the menu is definitely the fried cauliflower, a must-try! A very cozy place with complex flavours and low prices.

YUM so good! Everything here was excellent. We shared a pick-4 plate (mac, collards, red beans, jambalaya) and a potato salad (don’t miss that!) and last but not least the strawberry shortcake ice cream. A vegan and a carnivore from NYC left with very happy tummies!

Yes! Yes! Yes! Everything NOLA vegan addition! Red beans and rice were EXCELLENT! Bread pudding with rum sauce is a must! The restaurant was clean, the server described every dish before we were forced to choose.. I wish we could have eaten it all! Jambalaya, gumbo, greens, sweet potatoes, dressing, you name it! They also have fresh juices. Food was served very neatly. Eat in or take out is easy. Served cafeteria style but food was hot and fresh! We will definitely be back!

I stopped by Sweet Soulfood for lunch. I was impressed with the wide variety of options and very reasonable pricing.
I selected the Pick Four so I could try several things. I ordered the Cajun Curry, the Jambalaya, Mac & Cheese, and Bread Pudding.
The Mac & Cheese was too sweet and not savory enough for my taste (I suppose there's a reason why this business is called "Sweet" Soulfood :) ), but everything else was delicious! I hadn't ever tried Bread Pudding before, and I really enjoyed it!

Just because we're vegan doesn't mean we don't love food, and NOLA is known for food that truly hits the spot! "Sweet Soulfood" is delicious and oh-so-satisfying! Large portions and quick service - friendly too! I love that they change out their menu daily, so you're always guaranteed something different.
We went on a Thursday and had their Cashew Mac 'n' Cheese, Orange Cauliflower (fried and super crispy!), Stuffed Bell Peppers, Sweet Potato Casserole, Jambalaya, Okra Gumbo, and Corn Bread. #PlantBasedSoulFood #VeganForAllLife 🌿💪🏽

Great selection of constantly refilled and ready and served canteen style.
We had: mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, orange cauliflower (the winner), eggplant lasagne (runner up), jambalaya rice (underwhelming), sweet corn bread.
