Reviews of Superior Seafood & Oyster Bar
Michael Turner
Very cool atmosphere, friendly and attentive service. Plenty of wine and beer options. Food was well prepared and delicious. Crawfish Cornbread and alligator bites were a great starter. Salads are fresh and scrumptious. Blackened catfish over the whipped potatoes was great, but the corn was the show stopper! It added that sweet texture to the course. Fresh oysters were well cleaned and exquisite.

All the dishes we order are amazing in both quality and flavor. Bacon wrapped shrimps are juicy and sweet; the shrimps are huge jumbo shrimps. Blacken fish is meaty, smoky but not dry. Oysters are very delicious and flavorful. The fried alligator is…well….like chicken? Not a bad thing but just since I have never had alligator meat before, I didn’t know what to expect. Drinks are very stiff. The restaurant is quite expensive but definitely still worth a try.

Recommend as one of the top places for seafood in New Orleans and it did not disappoint. The service was a bit slow in the beginning do to the place being packed but once we did receive our drinks, things started to pick up. Our server was very apologetic for the long wait and super friendly.
The atmosphere was very french with dark decor and minimal lightning. They have a gentleman playing the piano which was great but don't expect to have a conversation. It greats extremely loud during dinner and I could barely here my husband.
The food was excellent. We had the BBQ shrimp and fried alligator for appetizers. For our entrees we had the seafood pasta and blackened catfish with a type of creole sauce. Everything taste fresh and delicious. I definitely recommend this place and will return my next visit.

Recommended by a local for their happy hour and did not disappoint! Came for happy hour on a Thursday at 6 with a reservation - restaurant didn't look too crowded yet. Waiter was prompt and food came quickly.
Happy hour 4 -> 6:30 with 1 dollar oysters and their frozen drinks large size for the price of a small one. We were drawn in for the oysters, but could not help ordering an entire dinner. Someone had recommended the charbroiled oysters, but I found raw ones to be more delicious - so fresh! What really blew me away was the crawfish cornbread - it came with gravy and was heavenly. Oh, and the oysters here can be the size of your palm.

A rowdy crowd singing happy birthday every few minutes made this a little louder than we liked, but the food more than made up for it.
Very classic New Orleans experience with yummy seafood and great frozen cocktails. I highly recommend the oysters and anything your waiter suggests. Our oysters superior appetizer and carrot cake dessert were the highlight.
A great place for a large group. If you don’t like an entire wait staff singing happy birthday every few minute, then this is not your spot. The pecan crusted redfish was decent, but lost all flavor being fried. I may try a grilled fish option next time.

Excellent spot to stop in and have brunch, lunch or a snack after visiting the Garden District. We stopped in for a quick drink Friday afternoon and got some spinach artichoke dip to share along with some recommended drinks from the bar - Frozen French 75 and some local beers. Our bartender was excellent and even made us some drinks she'd never tried before - a Bin & Gitters. 👌🏽 We even got a complementary piece of carrot cake as someone in our party was celebrating their birthday. Everything was so good we went back the next day for brunch, which was even better. Don't miss out on the Hangover Potatoes and splurge to add the brisket. One of the best brunches I've had in a long time. Our server, Stella, was so lovely and accommodating with our large party. Reservations are recommended if you want to sit at a table.
AnnaClaire
Wow. We absolutely LOVED this place. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Addison was our server (I think that’s how you spell it) but she was amazing and so helpful! I would definitely ask for her when you come! Although all the servers seem amazing. We will definitely be back before our trip is over and ask for her. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was top tier. Highly recommend.

Such a beautiful place! The oysters were my absolute favorite. Perfectly cooked with the best flavor. Take the trolley and enjoy the ride. Get off here for an upscale and classy lunch. Prices are fair and reasonably priced.
Lisa Cunningham
Waitress was sweet and she recommended some things to do for our first time in NOLA. Getting the food was a little on the slow side, but it was hot when it came out. The spinach dip was tasty for an appetizer. I had the blackened catfish, it was very good. My boyfriend had the shrimp and grits, neither of us really found anything good to say about that. The shrimp was really, fishy. And just not the flavor I was thinking would be in a Louisiana shrimp and grit bowl. We didn’t do any drinks except water. So I can’t tell you if they’re good or not. Overall, good experience, I just do NOT recommend the shrimp and grits.
Mandy Trotter
Really enjoyed dinner at this location. Our server Kayla was very sweet, friendly, and helpful. The food was incredible, the drinks were delicious, and we took dessert to go. I would definitely dine here again. It was a beautiful evening and we chose to dine outside.

Do make a reservation, very busy for a big place. Piano man is hilarious, if you can get a seat by him. Or the patio is bright and cheery, draped with hanging plants.
$1 huge super fresh oysters before 6:30pm. Fried alligator with Cajun mayo was amazing Blackened catfish was a bit spicy for me, but the Flounder was delicious.
Nicole M
This place was incredible!! Their happy hour is FANTASTIC ($1 oysters and large frozen drinks for the price of a small and $4 house beers and wines).
I definitely recommend having a reservation on weekends. My friend and I didn’t have one and we were like scavengers trying to get either a spot on the bar or a high top table since that was the only way that we’d get seated without being on the waitlist (which was about an 1.5hr).
Oysters were HUGE and tasted delicious and so fresh. Definitely a spot to go for these!! Truly a great deal since there’s no cap on how many you can order at a time!

Hands down the best oysters I have had. We ordered the raw oysters for the happy hour special they were having as well as the char-grilled oysters. Bread and butter is provided complimentary. I had the salmon lafitte for dinner and it was delicious. I also recommend the frozen french 75 drink they have. I do recommend making a reservation. That saved us from a wait.
Emma Schillage
I had my graduation party here and the food, service, and atmosphere was awesome. It was the perfect place for it. Everything on their menu is absolutely delicious. It’s a must try. And be sure to try the flourless chocolate cake and grab one of their French 75’s!
Matthew Cannon
This place is fabulous. Don't tell anyone else it's here. This place and Clancy's need to be for the locals...oh and Irene's too. Pictured: The Benson ( grilled chicken breast with spinach artichoke dip at a house pickles on a bun with french fries & ketchup) and chopped almonds eating green beans followed by a flourless chocolate cake. Superb!
ireeloveslife “Iree” Mendez
I can tell most people come for the drinks because everyone was drinking and being very social. We both ordered the catfish plate and it was delicious! The corn succotash they had was spicy and very tasty. I would order this again. Superior Seafood made the “Clean Plate Club.”
ashkan babaie
Went there for lunch today, loved every aspect of our visit. First of all, the service was amazing. Tried their oysters, stuffed shrimp, and the profite rolls for desserts, all were wonderful, highly recommend.
The Bourbon flight was fantastic too.
Terri Grams
Food was excellent! I had redfish, pureed sweet potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts. Best meal ever. It's a party atmosphere when it's busy but that's expected in NOLA. Would go back many times. Bread pudding, yum!
Perry Kalmus
The jambalaya is OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious.
I would skip the Po Boy if I were you. There is way better elsewhere. But the seafood here is delicious
The grilled oysters are excellent.

Me and my wife were staying in the French Quarter on vacation. We got a recommendation from a local to come over here. I was hesitate at first but my wife convinced me to leave the French Quarter It was a 30 minute ride on the streetcar. We are so glad we came here. We are from Michigan and we wanted something different from the area. There was no part of the experience that we could complain about. The food is absolutely fresh and amazing. I could go on and on but please just come here if you are in New Orleans and try this place.
jeff eldridge
Pretty cool spot, a little loud. Our server was nice and the food was good. Only hiccup was we had to ask twice for a steak knife. I was halfway done with my meal before my girlfriend got a knife for her steak.
Tasha Morris
I went with my coworkers and prima 3 nights in a row. We ordered frozen drinks (get the pomegranate), chargrilled oysters, red fish, catfish, and my new fave crawfish with cornbread. Absolutely delicious 😋 The fried green tomatoes aren't a must have. Street parking only. The waiters are friendly. Don't eat all of the French bread. Save room for your entree.
K L
Visiting from out of town and had the fried alligator(fried alittle too hard but still edible) and crawfish Mac and cheese(this should be added to entree menu!! It was delicious) and oysters(yummy) for appetizers. I had the blackened catfish napoleon as a main dish. Was not happy with it and it had very little flavor. I would not get it again. The atmosphere in the restaurant was nice though. Our waitress was attentive too.
Harry Graham
We had a wonderful experience for dinner. I had the Pecan crusted Redfish that was amazing. This entrée comes with a delicious house salad. I also had a cup of gumbo that was really tasty. My entire party really liked their dinner as well 😋
Alex Torres
Celebration time with friends and had wonderful food. Because of the French Quarter Festival it was a bit crowded and slow but I'll definitely be going back. The food was flavorful and in good portions.
Nikki Jay
Fast and professional service. Our waiter was very attentive even though he was dealing with a party of 12. The crawfish and crab bisque was a little bland, but paired with the crawfish cornbread made up for it.
The raw oyster were a nice size and the frozen pomegranate Mojito was really good. Parking can be a hassle, but if you park on the north side of St. Charles you'll find spots. Good location at the corner of Napoleon Ave on the streetcar line.
Christopher Gillespie
Sat at the bar for service, top notch, great plate execution. The flounder was cooked to perfection, the whole dish was spot on esp with that lemon herb sauce. Shrimp with sausage wrapped with bacon was quite a unique dish, both worth a re-visit trip. Drinks came out fast, crazy liquor selection.
Jennifer Krause
Steven was our server, and his attention to detail was amazing! Great drinks, amazing charbroiled oysters, everything was perfect! Will return soon, and will of course ask for Steven 😊
Rachel Weber
We stopped by last night for an anniversary dinner. We had an early reservation, which didn’t really seem like it was needed, however by the time we left it was very crowded.
To start they bring out a loaf of bread. The bread was fine. It would’ve been nice to have a knife to cut it so that we didn’t have to tear chunks off to eat it.
Next up, we ordered two appetizers: Crawfish Cornbread and a half dozen Char-Grilled Oysters. The oysters were very hot and smelled delicious, but I have to say as a first time oyster try-er, I was underwhelmed. The crawfish cornbread on the other hand, was very good! We cleaned the plate. Highly recommend!
For the main course I had the Crawfish Mac and Cheese (it’s actually an appetizer) based on previous reviews. My husband had the Blackened Catfish Napoleon. The Mac and Cheese was amazing! Extra cheesy and the sauce was tasty. My only criticism is that the crawfish was heavily concentrated to one side of the dish so I didn’t get any for the first several bites. My husband said that the Catfish was tasty as well. When asked he said that it was “perfectly decent” but could come up with any better descriptors.
For dessert, my husband tried the Bread Pudding and I had the Carrot Cake. The bread pudding was more of a single sized portion and the carrot cake was of a more shareable size.
Bread pudding review: “It was fantastic. One of the best bread puddings I’ve ever had. The sauce was (insert Homer Simpson type noise). The only complaint is that, for the price, it was pretty small.”
Carrot cake review: I have no words. I took one bite and texted my Mom in Minnesota and told her to put this cake on her bucket list. So good!
Overall, it was a good experience. They didn’t have the drink my husband wanted (even though it was on the menu) so that was disappointing. That and the overall “underwhelming” taste of a few dishes caused them to lose a star.
Ashley Tew
This place is amazing, I highly recommend! I got the salmon and my husband got the bacon wrapped shrimp. The atmosphere is great, and so is the service. Tristan was our server and was fantastic!! We will definitely be back next time we're in town.
Val Hoffman
Our server Steven and the entire staff were incredible. To the cocktails, the apppetizers and main course to dessert we had a fantastic time. 10/10 would recommend.
Que Nguyen
I usually always come here for the happy hour oysters and half off frozen cocktails but I decided to try something different. Absolutely no regrets. I'm usually not a fan of corn but everything worked so well together in this dish. Also, I highly recommend the Frozen French 75. Out of all the frozen cocktails, this will always be my go-to.
Donald Nguyen
Great happy hour from 4 to 630pm with $1 oysters and cheap drinks. Chargrilled oysters, blackened catfish napoleon, beignet appetizer, and creme brulee dessert are stand out dishes here.
Bess Valdez
I’m not a huge seafood eater but the oysters were so good! The chicken was also amazing I got the crawfish sauce on the side and forgot to take a picture of it! Amazing service I would definitely return!
Nexes-Forty-Four
Had the oysters superior (sampler), blackened catfish napoleon, and profiteroles for desert. All three oyster varieties were on point and the bienville style stole the show with the shrimp sauce flavor. It was difficult to choose between the redfish and catfish but the combination of mashed potatoes, corn maque choux, and blakened filet all smothered in crawfish etouffee was irresistible and hit it out of the park.
Mauri Ochoa
This is by far my favorite place in NoLa. I came here 7 years ago and now I could not wait to come back. Everything is as wonderful as I remembered: the “oyster superior” to try all Rockefeller, bienville and char-grilled (my favorite). The latter are so awesome that we ordered an additional dozen. We also had the pesto risotto (only dish that I could’ve spared), a DELICIOUS crawfish mac and cheese and all three of the frozen drinks (my personal favorite being the pomegranate frozen mojito, but order the bourbon sidecar if you want to get hammered).
We also had the profiteroles for dessert. Filled with vanilla ice-cream and with a chocolate ganache side.
This is one of my favorite places in THE WORLD. You will NOT be disappointed.
Elizabeth Cole
Had a great meal here while visiting my son. Oysters on the half, ceviche ans trout Amandine...and a shrimp po-boy to go.
Walt Haste
You can't go wrong in this vintage New Orlean landmark. The food, atmosphere, live piano will take you back in time if only for a little while. The biggest problem was when my oyster didn't fit on my cracker.
If you are in the city take the green line streetcar to the Napoleon st stop and enjoy.
Chris Waldrip
Atmosphere was good and the food was great. This may sound strange to some, but the oyster shucker, Jay, is a master: nice, clean oysters with no grit and that slide out without any problems whatsoever. It’s artistic.
Jenn Robbers (Shinycrazy)
Insanely good chargrilled oysters. Best we've had. Shrimp and grits was amazing and incredibly flavorful. And the dessert? Yes, go for it.
Sue Lloyd
Helpful wait staff with my mother in a wheelchair. The food and service were stupendous. We loved listening to the piano player too!
Kimberly Lyons
Celebrated my birthday here with 11 ladies and they took such great care of us! The food was delicious, but the service was impeccable! Would definitely reccomend! Even had non seafood eaters in the group who were very impressed with their meals.
Deejay C
This is the best place we are at on our trip to New Orleans! We've been to a handful of well known restaurants but this place won our hearts! Service was quick, drinks were refreshing and every meal is just superb.
We had the oyster platter but the char broiled stood out so we had to get another order of just that.
We had the pasta and that was heavenly!! Highly recommended!
Our server was very attentive as well.
The whole experience will forever leave a special place in my heart. Can't wait to be back!
Darlene Michelle “Jerseygirl” Bonaparte
I came to NOLA to celebrate my 50th birthday with my daughter and my friend. We decided to have lunch here. It was DELICIOUS!!! I loved the crawfish beignets!!!!
Tia Nathan
Superior is exactly what this place is! Every thing we had was amazing. The crawfish beignets are probably my favorite in New Orleans. Drinks are really strong! Will definitely return for more!
Caren Loy
Our large family was able to get a table relatively fast. Enjoyed the atmosphere and I highly recommend the 7 layer salad if you enjoy a fresh meal.
Tim Richardson
I have had charbroiled oysters all over New Orleans and I can say that Superior has superior charbroiled oysters.
We got them with the Parmesan toppings.
A little pricey but a 1st class experience.
Scott Parris
This is a must stop for oysters and atmosphere. The bacon wrapped shrimp, stuffed with andouille sausage was simply amazing! Try the oysters, I’ve had oysters in Maine and these were better! My girlfriend got the pasta vieux carrè and let me try it, that was also amazing! Tried our friends flounder and was so tasty, if you’re in the area please give this place a try.
Melissa Padilla
Oh, my goodness! Best oysters ever, raw and charbroiled. The best service ever! My friend just casually mentioned my birthday and our server surprised me with a firecracker and huge slice of warm gooey carrot cake. So delicious. Frozen drinks hot the spot. I can't wait to return.
Robin Juneau
Everything was superb. Received a text that morning to confirm. Received a text when our table was ready, which was actually a few minutes before our actual reservation. Service was prompt and our server, Carrie, friendly and engaging. Food quality and taste was fantastic. Background music was a little loud, but because of it, we couldn't hear nearby tables conversing. My daughter's boyfriend proposed to her there and the server brought out carrot cake with a sparkler ablaze. It was a perfect experience. Will definitely go back.
Cathy
Outstanding food and service! Lovely to sit in the “garden” room. Oysters were delicious and gumbo was top notch. Don’t miss it!
Don Ballan
YES! Oh man is this the place to go. Absolutely professional staff, impressive and unique menu choices. I have only good things to say about the entire dining experience here. The dining area is large and beautiful, you can feel the history of the building and the local area here. Get down here for happy hour if you can! Watch the oyster shuckers do their thing while you sip on something special that the bartender shook up for you! I'll add some photos when I get a chance. You certainly are Superior!!
Sam D. (Баба Яга)
Great experience! Very good cocktails. The Oyster Happy Hour with $0.75 cent raw oysters was great. We also got an order of the chargrilled which was also very good. I ordered the crusted flounder which was a nice portion of fish beautifully cooked and garnished. The seared tuna was also cooked to perfection and very tasty. A great spot!
Bodhi M
This restaurant is awesome, the service, the ambiance, the food. It's located in the garden district. I had the stuffed red fish, and it exceeded my expectations.
Candace
Tried the blackened catfish Napoleon. YUM!! Evangeline was a wonderful server Charming and efficient. Tried The Roddy Diaz. IT WAS DELICIOUS!! (Loved the thoughtful way everything was packed to go.) Bar service was too kind and gave me an extra cup for my soda “refill.” Thank you so much.
Cassidy Smith
Always the best. John Michael stopped by to check on us and was so welcoming and nice. The food is always amazing & we had live pianist, who was very lively. Always get the oysters, raw and charred. Overall, food was great and the atmosphere is 10/10. Very consistent and never have had a bad meal. A must.
Brandon Speth
We enjoyed our dinner here. The food was fresh and the service was good. We made a reservation which I recommend because they get busy for dinner all week long.
Star6uster
It's my favorite. Usually my go to for oysters but the best I've had have been in the spring.
Tyler Chrestman
I enjoyed the look and the atmosphere of the restaurant. Everyone was very friendly but my one critique was that our server got caught up with a large party in one of the rooms and no one seemed to step up to help cover her area so we wound up sitting waiting for water refills and to order more food.
The Pasta De La Mer- 4/5 very tasty and just a bit of spice.
The Roddy Diaz- 4/5 this sandwich was excellent.
Stephen Medlin
The oysters here were second to none! This is a wonderful restaurant and the service was phenomenal
Jos Asé
Wow! A pleasant surprise. We were looking for a simple dinner near our hotel and were referred to Superior Seafood & Oyster. We ordered the seafood soup, salads, red fish and panko crusted flounder dishes for entrees. The food was INCREDIBLE. Each dish had a special sauce (butter, lemon, etc.) that set the dishes apart from any similar dishes I've had. The waiter was top notch. The drinks were exceptional. We are visiting from out of town but this meal was one we'll remember long after we leave NOLA.
Stephen Gonzalez
We had a bunch of apps and a blast. Madison took care of us and fully embraced what it was to have Southern hospitality. The food was great. The drinks were better. The company was the best! Thank you all so much! Can't wait to come back to visit and see y'all.
Brett Schwartz
Very nice place to eat with solid food, service, and atmosphere. Great family restaurant. Has both inside and outside seating.
Adam Rogers
Fantastic food and service, our waitress Leah was amazing! I highly recommend the chargrilled oysters!
Jeannell Davila
Amazing oyster bar and restaurant.
Make sure you have a reservation this place is really good so it's always busy.
Loved the ambiance the piano man gets all the credit for that.
All the staff is really friendly and helpful.
We got there at 6 pm and happy hour ended at 630 pm so we quickly decides to order some raw oysters and some drinks.
The oysters were big and fresh and amazing as an appetizer. I poured some lemon and Louisiana hot sauce on mine and it was delicious.
Also ordered the Supreme Oysters they were charbroiled and finger liking good. They serve them with a little havarti cream on the side and they are pure bliss.
Afterwards we ordered some entres, pasta di Mare and a blackened catfish Napoleon and they were seasoned to perfection really delicious. Substituted the salads for chicken gumbo ( which we found to be very similar in taste to chicken in mole) and a lobster and shrimp bisque both were very tasty.
For desert we got a bread pudding and it to was wonderful.
We will definitely be going back when we visit NOLA.
Ben Berg
It was my first experience in eating grilled oysters. OMG! Have I been missing out!
Our waitress (Evangeline) filled us in on all the better food items they serve. Basically ALL of them, and she was right on all we had!
She was a lot of fun, and great service! 👍🏻
Bacon wrapped grilled shrimp should have a warning that it can be addictive. Just that 1 item is worth the trip!
Highly recommended by several friends, and they were right!
Farnoosh Jafarian
Best see food experience ever!
I am allergic to the seasoning. When I told the waitress about my allergy, she kindly ensure me that they will not add any seasoning to the food for me. The service was excellent. To sum up , a frenchy style restaurant!
(The food was f***ing delicious!)
Shawn Sanford
Everything was great except the drunk loud women at the next table. Best carrot cake I've ever had. Highly recommend going.
jennifer durham
This place is amazing! Fresh oysters and great seafood! The seafood stuffed mushrooms are the BEDT I’ve ever had! The stuffing is actually not totally breadcrumbs you can actually see and taste the seafood in it!!! Garrett the bartender deserves a shout out! He is attentive and knows his way around a bar!! Will come again next time in NOLA!!!
Dokyung Lee
They have lovely indoor patio with great seafood selection.
Marie McCoy
The waiter didn't know what au jus was and brought me hollandaise for my filet mignon, which i found interesting. Otherwise, delicious food and good service...
Greg Cook
Superior Seafood is my favorite seafood restaurant in New Orleans. Great ambiance, fantastic food, and service! Not being a huge seafood fan, this means a lot.
We made reservations for a Tuesday night. We tried to go over the weekend, and the wait was too long for us. I’d plan on making reservations if you were interested in coming then.
We were seated in an outdoor/indoor mixed room. The food and service were on point! If I had to recommend any specific item, the crawfish mac and cheese is a do not miss!
Blake Huang
Superior restaurant just like the name SUPERIOR in New Orleans.
Enjoy the happy hour 4pm-6.30pm every day. Good service here. Everyone has good smile to treating customers.
Alireza Adibfar
Very delicious food with very adorable and friendly staff!! The quality of the service and tastiness of foods are remarkable for this restaurant. We got a salmon which was grilled and came with a mushroom sauce. I can say I have never had such a tasty salmon anywhere else. We also got a shrimp pasta that was so so delicious. This restaurant is "Highly Recommended"!
DJ Jackson
I think the front end manager name was Joe he was great and made the experience wonderful. Food was delicious!!!!!!
liza p
Loved it all especially the happy hour from 4 to 6.
Oysters fresh!
Daiquiri drinks on point!
Shrimp wrapped in bacon mmm !
Jennifer Helms
The fried Alligator was delicious and the restaurant had great atmosphere and was very lively. The grilled oysters were so delicious and I don't even like oysters like that lol. I ordered the Filet and it was good but not fabulous. I actually liked the double baked potato better than my steak.
Sarah Laesser
Tried the oysters and Cajun catfish - definitely didn't disappoint! They also had a wide variety of mixed drinks - where it was hard to choose just one.
Delaney Groves
Sat at the bar and ordered frozen pomegranate mojitos that were amazing and then got fried alligator-was really good and sauce too, salad was great, and the flounder was one of the best meals I’ve ever had! It was a great time and cool atmosphere. Service was good too.
Lyle Harris
The food was excellent! Service as well! We went on a tour of their menu which was short and to the point. Alligator, escar go, smoked oysters out of control, red fish excellent, fried green tomatoes excellent, calamari, steak, carrot cake phenomenal and huge creme brulee perfectly made I could go on and on and on. We had a pretty big party and we shared. We were loud, and enjoyed the place to its fullest potential. Everybody was nice and accommodating. Not only would I suggest it I will definitely be in return customer. Oh and they had wine pairings for all of the meals, all of them. We left out so happy. And the bill was not out of control for what we ordered. I think it's a great place to go if you've gone to that's a Red lobster for instance, the prices are very comparable, if not less on certain things.. ENJOY I HOPE THIS HELPED..
Superior 🍢🦞🦞 Seafood
Kassie Peterson
Great place! Came for lunch and enjoyed drinks and oysters. We tried the superior oysters with three types. We had frozen mimosas which was the best I have ever had. And the ginger blackberry tea.
Jason Holmes
Food was ok, service was kind of slow. Would eat there again but not my favorite place for seafood with so many awesome choices in New Orleans! My back wrapped shrimp were burnt, wife's fish was mushy, crayfish cornbread was excellent and oysters were good and fresh.
Mister Mister
All aspects of the experience were impeccable. Lovely server, happy hour specials flowing, and great food. Happy time by all of our 8 person table.
[5 stars = Excellent (Top 15%), 4 stars = Good, 3 stars = Average, 2 stars = below average, 1 star = never going back...too many restaurants to explore]
Jin Zhao
My recommendation is to make a reservation as early as possible, The table can be filled up very quick. The raw oyster is the best, And make sure you try some house cocktail. It’s a perfect combination.
WALLY WOOD EATS
This place is on Saint Charles which was close by our hotel. Ate lunch here. It wasn't really busy & our server was very knowledgeable. Oysters were flavorful & I had the brisket sandwich which is more like a pressed cuban. Really good thou. The chicken sandwich was good also large breast that was tender yet cooked perfectly. The fried green tomatoes were great.
Russell Adams
The whole experience was so amazing...love the ambiance with continued social distancing between tables. Kevin our wait staff was on top of everything and made our dinner extra special. His recommendations were flavorful, fresh, and perfectly prepared.
an m
Let me start by saying I don't eat oysters but the cooked Rockefeller and Bienville that they had was so good that I had to go back a second time on my trip just to have it.
Kevin Williams
We don't stop by here very often, but their oysters on the half shell never disappoint. Sit at the oyster bar and take care of the staff and they will take care of you.
Chris Kedroski
Amazing patio and last night was the perfect night. The waitstaff was great! Really liked the Frozen Pomegranate Mojito, it was the perfect cool down after a walk there. Our two favorite items were appetizers. The crawfish beignets and the oysters superior. Highly recommend.
Sam Lewit
Incredibly delicious. Service is hit or miss. Been here three times. First time perfect, 2nd terrible (had to walk out to get the check), waiter couldn’t care less. Third time pretty good. So incredibly loud though. And the obnoxious thumping music doesn’t fit this place at all.

Excellent food! I was there on a very, very busy evening, service was top notch despite how crazy it was.
Everything on the menu is marked if it's gluten free or able to be made gluten free, and there's a good selection of GF options. I ordered the Pomegranate Mojito and the Filet Salad, both were very good!
Daisy
Iconic seafood restaurant, which actually has a broad selection of non-seafood food items as well. We went for Sunday brunch which includes items off both the breakfast, and the lunch menu. Food was really good and included complementary bread and butter.
John Creel
Great service, good atmosphere, good food. Food is a little pricey for how small the servings are. We ordered like 170$ worth of food that was delicious but I wasn't full when I left. Wine list is a little subpar
Faith Floyd
We stumbled upon this restaurant while riding on the RTA streetcar. The service was terrific and the food was exceptional. We shared the chicken dinner and had both chargrilled and raw oysters. The sensation side salad was awesome.
Valencia Hunter
We had the chargrilled oysters and crabballs (???) for appetizers. I had the blackened catfish as my entrée and also tasted the scallops. The food was excellent as was the service. We made a reservation online and when we arrived, we were seated immediately. Lots of street parking available within a block of the restaurant. Will definitely return here.
Kelia
I'd die for the oysters and alligator at this place.
FOOD
They have fresh bread and butter for the table. For appetizers, we ordered a dozen Char Grilled Oysters which are cooked in garlic and cheese --delicious. We also orders the Fried Alligator which was absolutely tender and was basically the best popcorn chicken ever. I ordered the Pasta Vieux Carré for my entree. It featured penne pasta in a creamy tomato sauce with andouille sausage, Louisiana crawfish and shrimp. There was also cooked spinach and cherry tomatoes in the dish, and it was topped with parmesan cheese. It was a large size so I had leftovers for next day.
SERVICE
Our waitress was good overall, but there was an incident where she had placed my mojito poorly on the table, causing it to tip over. Another waitstaff came to clean it up right away before it melted and soaked into the tablecloth. However, there was some uncertainty if our waitress knew that she had messed up and would either refresh my drink or get me a new one. Luckily we brought it up once she came back and she got me a new drink. It would have been better if she had apologized right away when it tipped and offered to replace my drink other than leaving us in uncertainty.
ATMOSPHERE
Interior seemed quite busy but we were fortunately seated outside and the weather was nice. It was a bit quieter so we were able to have proper conversation. Two birthday party tables were nearby so we had fun singing "Happy Birthday" while tipsy.

Everything was delicious…Next time I’m in NOLA, I will definitely go back there!
James Scott
Went to Superior because my wife wanted oysters. Went for happy hour (4-6:30) for 75 cent raw oysters. I got the 40 day dry aged NY Strip steak and OMG it was best steak I had in NOLA. To management...I know your a seafood restaurant but you can compete with ANY steakhouse
David Hedges
Friendly staff. Great food. Oysters were large and delicious. Lobster bisque was good too! Also had the brisket sandwich, which I like to a New Orleans Cuban sandwich. Check it out!
Brian Rothschild
Came in about 45 minutes before they closed, and still managed to have an excellent meal with great service. Raw oysters were the highest quality I had in Nola, and the blackened catfish was spectacular.
Auranyd Alvarado
Beautiful venue, great for company lunch or dinner meetings or special events. The food is superb. My go to dish... Blackened Catfish Napoleon, so so so so good. But before the main dish you should have the Spinach & Artichoke Dip (to die for) and after that the Crawfish & Crab Bisque soup (cup). After you had the main course, then you should order the Crème Brûlée (if is available).
Beatrice Valeri
Excellent food and service! The waitress was very nice to us and explained everything we asked. The location is cozy with a wonderful atmosphere.
Love it!

I have to write a review after many many visits here. It's one of our favorite spots if not, the first when we get to New Orleans. Superior happy hour is amazing great oysters, drinks, the mint julep here is awesome, best fried gator. Always a good time.
Mallessa Y
Came here during the evening and immediately got seated as it wasn't busy. The waiter was nice and courteous. We ordered the raw oysters to share and I had crawfish the mac and cheese. It was super delicious!
I highly recommend coming here. Very nice atmosphere, classy interior and the staff was really friendly!
Sharon Grimshaw
Superior in every way. A popular location for locals and visitors. Very attractive room with pleasant and attentive servers—thanks Ashley. We enjoyed a cocktail before dinner. The food is excellent. We started with the side salad that accompanied our entrees. It was delicious with kalamata olives and cherry tomatoes. The fish of the day was a generous and perfectly cooked grouper. The shrimp and grits was very flavorful with fresh shrimp. We look forward to returning.
Tanya Scott
We didn't have a wait, the food was good and the atmosphere was awesome. Our waitress wasn't the best but okay. They had a live band that I enjoyed listening to as I enjoyed my food. It was very clean. The restrooms were very clean and well kept! The stalls were roomy and have real doors.
The bar area is beautiful! The price for the food were affordable. We came during brunch (smaller portions) so I'm not sure of the regular menu and prices.
Randi Proffitt
Just happened in here because a place nearby was closed ...and OHMYGOSH WHAT GOOD LUCK!!!! This is some of the best food I've ever had... the char-grilled oysters were life changing! The shrimp brochette is to die for! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!
Simone Rosa
The crawfish cornbread appetizer was a huge, fluffy, moist, cake-like cornbread (not gf) covered in a slightly spicy ettouffe sauce that was light on crawfish bits (out of season) but still quite tasty. The steak salad was properly cooked steak cabobs with that perfect grill char on the peppers, onions, and steak on a perfect amount of lettuce, blue cheese crumbles, bacon, tomatoes, and blue cheese dressing. The Catfish was perfectly blackened while still being moist and tender inside with the same ettouffe sauce across the top of the fish, potatoes, and maque choux (regional seasoned corn). Pairing the fish with the recommended wine was a good choice. Overall an excellent meal and probably the best one we've had during this visit home!
Jennifer Franco
A world of yumminess. We enjoyed everything from the wam bread to the SP nach artichoke dip. Then the filet mignon and breaded flounder was amazing. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and our service was top rated.
Gregory Morris
All around happy experience. Great drinks and food. A great brunch or southern seafood dining option. It was bustling with people when my group arrived for Sunday lunch. There was even live music.
John Williams
Best oysters in the longest of time. Fresh, plump and just succulent. Can't best em here. On the half shell grilled or raw just out of sight. Carrot cake was spot on as well. Great service.
William Kingsolver
Locals recommend this spot for seafood and it doesn't disappoint, reasonable prices given the classiness, variety, and quality seafood. They have TVs but not a sports atmosphere per se, great place for a first date or romantic night out.
Pratik Ajmera
We tried a few things here in our mission to hit as many restaurants as we can in NOLA. These days I check good reviews keyword prominence to check what dish is good where. Based on that we ordered pomegranate Mojito and French 75 - happy hour double size - they were both awesome. We also ordered crawfish cornbread which was out of this world.
Why I cut one star is oysters weren’t great in happy hour. I don’t know how they are otherwise. But we found them to be considerably lower quality and size. Note we did another oyster happy hour in Luke’s before and it was amazing!
David S.
Food was fantastic! Service was slow and the cocktails were obviously overly measured to insure profit. I don't mind this unless the quality of the drink suffers, which it did. When cocktails are $14+, this is a bit disappointing.
Tonya L
Wonderful atmosphere, especially during jazz brunch.
Delicious food, roasted oysters, shrimp and grits with just enough heat and broiled fish!
A little slow on the kitchen but was entertained by the music and view.
Andrew Dalrymple
Well worth the price. Good food and atmosphere. Walk in and feel like a king here between decadent drinks and delicious apatizers followed by a blown
you away meal!
Bill Foppe
Happy hour oyster special is a wonderful treat!
L Aguilar-Chef-Cook-Foodie
This place got some good raw oysters!! The guy that was schucking em' said they were from texas!.. and they were good! Went 2 times for happy hour..and their drinks were good also, that pomegranate mojito hits the spot. We ate and and took are drinks with us as we walked down the trolley route on our way back to CBD,we jumped on the trolley after a 30 min walk, nice homes and fun walk. Best spot for Happy Hour raw oysters!!
Max Winalski
Great atmosphere, excellent wait staff, and very tasty food with a great drink selection. Really enjoyed my time here. They even have a pianist come to really set the mood. 5 stars, very enjoyable.
Jessica Lawson
This place is a must while in New Orleans! Everything was perfect the only thing that kept this from 5 stars was it took us a while to get seated and greeted, after much discussion between the hosts they finally put us at a very small table between two other tables that had obviously spilled over into the area of this small table, the hostess threw the menus on the table and walked away leaving us to ask other diners if we could squeeze by and sit...we decided not to do so and returned to the desk to ask if we could just sit at the bar. All in all though after that we enjoyed everything!!
杨宇辰
This restaurant has live Jazz and good oysters there. I like the grilled oyster here. They are pretty good. The scallops are also very tasty. We also ordered Salmon Lafitte. The style is unique and it is delicious. The rice is smooth and milky. I like this taste a lot. I will order this again if I have a chance. However, the parking here is a little bit difficult. They have free valet parking, however, if some one occupied a temporary spot, it will be hard for you to find another spot on the street since the street is tiny.
Greg Johnson
Had a nice meal here. I personally wish the menu was a bit bigger, but what they did have was good. Anyway the alligator bites were a little small. I tastes more batter then alligator. There was a bit of a salad mixes with that. Then I ordered the seared snapper. The snapper was good. The plate was loaded with potatoes which I will eat after mt workouts. But over all good. They gave a side salad with the snapper. I do recommend
JeAnne Swinley
I love the aesthetic here...the dark wood, the open airy rooms, the retro tiled floors, the outside covered area. I like that it's a little classy, but not stuffy or super upscale. Charming restaurant with some solid seafood. The oysters were HUGE and tasty and importantly CLEAN. Drinks are strong, bacon wrapped scallops were delicious. Worth a repeat.
Normie Stewart-Brown (Gmail)
Not much of a selection of what we were really wanting to eat but overall everything we did order was great!! We decided to get appetizers and drinks only but oh my goodness were they ALL good. Fried Green tomatoes are topped w/crab meat, the Crawfish Mac & Cheese was to die for and the Spinach & Artichoke dip was so tasty!!! So b/c I only got appetizers this trip I'll give it a 4 out of 5 bc we didn't do any entree's so I don't feel I can give a full rating. However, I have absolutely no doubt that any entree is just as good as the appetizers here!
Sydney Huff
The Ahi Tuna salad is delicious and shrimp and grits is my husband's favorite. They also make his favorite Old Fashioned here. Great service and nice views of St. Charles Ave.
Carol Hutchison
Great seafood! I would suggest that is try the crawfish cornbread as an appetizer. Tell the waiter to make it saucy and not skimp on the sauce. During lunchtime the have $2 profiteroles. They are delicious! The atmosphere of this restaurant is very romantic, especially at night.

When I first walked into Superior Seafood & Oyster, I had this wonderful recall moment of walking into Le Grand Colbert, in Paris by the Eiffel Tower. Awe, the tile floors the extra large dark wood dineing booths, the brass highlights the chandeliers, the wait staff in impecable white aprons..... ahhh I'm happy!
I knew I wasn't in Paris, but I also knew that I was in New Orleans! This is going to be good. And it was.
This Southern American Cajun eatery was excellent. We opened with beautiful, tall and aromatic vodka martinis, a great way to start. They came with old school large glasses with the wonderful Spanish olives. Excellent.
Next were oysters on the half, which were absolutely perfect. Post martinis we moved into their wine selection with dinner which was beyond adequate with a wide selection of varietals. Our entrees ranged from seafood pasta, to steak, to beautifully grilled fish. Everything was presented and served in fine dining fashion. The atmosphere was vibrant and the room had a wonderful energy that you could see on the faces of its patrons.
The staff was attentive their service virtually perfect. We didn't have a chance to compare Superior's pastries and desserts with Le Grand Colbert's but that probably wouldn't be fair to any restaurant globally.
Superior is a must if you are going to taste the wonders of New Orleans. Enjoy!
If you like my reviews as thousands of you have, please like & follow.

Sat outside on a beautiful day and had a nice beverage, some appetizers and great service. Don't go here very often but it is worth the trip.

Best place to eat in NOLA! Better than anything we’ve ever had! Ever! Janelle really took good care of us!
Sally Tilley
We got 3 appetizers and 3 entrees to share. I had never tried escargot before and it was really good. Really buttery and flavorful. The fried crab claws were good too, especially in the escargot sauce. We also got fried alligator. It tasted just like chicken, but it was well seasoned well. The scallops were amazing and the bacon and mushrooms made the dish. The shrimp brochettes were so smoky and flavorful. We also got the shrimp risotto. The risotto was probably the best I've had.
Jon Kemp
It was great. My redfish was slightly overdone, but not to a degree that it was enjoyable. still but everything else was excellent. Crayfish Mac and cheese was outstanding as the bread pudding.
Laury T
This was our first restaurant on our vacation trip and it set the bar high for all the other spots we were going to eat at. Very good. Even the drinks are good plus strong.
Anton Lemeza
Superior Seafood was really great. Our group had a section reserved with a custom consolidated menu. This was my first New Orleans meal and I was very glad it could be at Superior Seafood.
Our order started with a shrimp Gumbo appetizer which I did not get a picture of but I assure you was delicious. Slight bit of spice without being over powering for someone not as accustomed to spice. I ordered the New York steak done medium and was so pleased. The steak was cooked perfectly and served with fries. The seasoning was excellent with plenty of room for the flavor of the meat to shine through.
The drinks were also great, the IPA on tap was delicious and a great experience having primarily experienced Oregon IPAs.
I would highly recommend Superior Seafood, whether you're there for seafood or something else.
Cynthia Copes
Service was excellent and the location is convenient (on three St. Charles Streetcar line). I ordered the Gator bites, Shrimp Pesto Risotto, and Shrimp & Grits. One of the best meals we had in New Orleans.
Jack
Was told to go for brunch while I was in town and I'm happy I did! Food was great and love the atmosphere.
Harold Martin
Food was really good. My entire group enjoyed it. Our waitress was overworked and it really showed. She basically threw our stuff on the table until we talk to the manager Joe. He was nice and took full responsibility for our waitress mediocre service. Have to mention the food was really good again!
Jason Muriel
Great place for happy hour.we loved the appetizers , oysters, and drinks here (frozen mojitos). Mac and cheese was excellent. Great looking place with a large bar. Would have loved to try the dinner here as well.
Joe Williams
Ate here while attending one of the parades. Despite them crushed by parade goer's the service was very friendly, helpful and attentive. I had the blackend redfish and it was cooked to perfection. I was really surprised at how well the food was prepared because it was packed to capacity.
Eric Jodoin
Ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell and the crawfish and crab bisque. My friend ordered the grilled salmon over mushroom risotto. The food was outstanding and the service equally as good! Thanks for a great birthday lunch, I totally recommend this place!
Spencer McCoy
First time trying oysters, blackened catfish napoleon was delicious. I have the juicier hazy ipa and a true New Orleans Sazerac. Good and drinks were delicious.
Chris Broadstreet
Dropped in for a couple dozen oysters. They were amazing and came out fast. I will say, they were a bit expensive though.
Paula Castillo
As the name suggest, the food here is Superior!... The charbroiled oysters are Exquisite!... The salads, super fresh!, The entrees, so good!... On top of that, the ambience and service are great!... I totally recommend you to check it out!
Kris Solis
The food was amazing! I had the stuffed shrimp brioche and loved it! Raw oysters were great as well.
Chor Wah Lee
Oysters very fresh. Gator bites taste very good. Seafood pasta very good too. Waitress Sandy I believe, very friendly and helpful. She split the pasta into 2 plates. Recommended 5 stars +++.
Mateo Gebon
The menu seemed really nice with plenty of options, and the waitress was very good at her job. Our table shared a plate of different oysters, and I got blackened catfish with potatoes and corn; all the food was excellent. It was a little late on a Sunday evening, but we were able sit right down. I was very happy with my dining experience here.
Robert Bowman
Oyster shuckers kept it entertained 😆 enjoyed the fresh seafood 😋. Still coming here. Happy hour is the best time for oysters.
Myia
Loved my crusted fish meal. Their charbroiled oysters were so good!!
Garland
Chargrilled oysters were over cooked. $1 oysters for happy hour. Fried alligator was very good!
Antonio
If you want AUTHENTIC New Orleans food come here!! There food is so yummy and the bread to die for!! They were quick with service and there is always friendly ness there!!I got the gumbo it was so yummy!!
Earnest Mack
Excellent staff. Very accommodating. A conpanion and I went here on the the recommendation of a local not knowing that it was a reservation base restaurant. Being fully booked up the host still found a way seat us. It was a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere is very sociable, and the staff was more than attentive to our needs. The food came out expeditiously. We had the crab cakes, Cajun catfish, and a lightly dressed salad with an excellent vinaigrette.
Walt Cofer
The best seafood pasta and very filling. Love that sauce. The andouille sausage gumbo was the best.
Tera Marie
Came for to go happy hour and the drinks, we did not eat this time around. The drinks did not disappoint.
Revised-we came here again for our anniversary outing and everything was good except a few items. The alligator nuggets, char grilled oysters and crawfish beignets were tasty. My husband enjoyed his Tchoupitoulas chicken. I had the blackened catfish, which I didn’t care for and the gumbo it’s not your grandma’s for sure! The bread pudding was not traditional how I like it, but it was tasty. Our waiter and the service and awesome!
Shane Mitchell
We celebrated our 16th anniversary here with incredible food! This is a must for anyone in New Orleans!
Cassandra Taylor
Happy hour is one of the best in town. Oysters were very tasty and the wine good.
Sudesna Chakravarty
Awesome seafood and wine pairing, excellent staff and great service/ambience. Must visit dine in restaurant in NOLA.
Heather Valle Brown
Oh my word. Superior Seafood was a short trolley ride from our hotel. We put in a reservation and made sure to let them know we were running a few minutes late.
The staff was really wonderful and really gracious. The cocktails were spot on and even the baby liked the crawfish mac and cheese. The restaurant is beautiful and lively. The food is great and the staff is on top of everything. Big thanks to our server John who was so kind!
Jacinta Bouvay
Great food and good portions! The staff was really nice as well!
Richard Hunter
Here's the thing. You are in New Orleans, on a foodie tour, and surrounded by endless possibilities.
This seemed like the Chili's of New Orleans food. Nothing to really complain about... good service, decent food, white table cloth dining... yet somehow nothing jumps off the plate and makes you say "WOW".
My advice is to skip it in favor of other, more superb offerings in the area.
Jennifer Tatum-Cranford
Excellent seafood and steak in the heart of the Garden District. We had a large party, 6 adults, and they were able to accommodate us quickly. We had appetizers, highly recommend the crawfish cornbread, dinner, my husband loved his bacon wrapped shrimp andouille, and dessert the flourless chocolate cake with raspberry compote and vanilla ice cream. Absolutely amazing!!
Jennifer Jackson
I Love New Orleans! IJS
The restaurant decor was nice and warm. The food Superb. I can no longer eat shell fish but my daughter loves seafood. I had the blackened catfish sandwich. Delicious! My daughter ordered the shrimp andouillee brochettes. They smelled so good and within 20 minutes her plate was empty! Superb!
Javon Jones
This was my 4th visit in 4 years and still the same phenomenal service and food section. Drinks are amazing
Scott Hedge
We just moved here 5 days ago and been trying to find a good spot to eat and drink. Excellent service, conversation and food. Oysters are super fresh and shucked by hand in front of you. Phu is a rockstar!
Scott Blake
Great seafood place in New Orleans! Amazing service and food. I had the Pasta Vieux Carré.
Restaurant is on the St Charles street car line.
Kris Lacy
50 cent oysters during happy hour! The oysters are wonderful. The person that is shucking them is doing a perfect job. Super clean mild oysters and not just small ones. We also got house wine that went great with the oysters. We also split Angels on horse back which was great.
Gianna Leanto
I always thought this place was a sub par tourist trap but I went recently for a friends birthday and the food is actually quite good.
pros: buratta appetizer, alligator appetizer, mashed potatoes
cons: we were sat 45 min late for our reservation (that we made weeks ahead) and my steak was definitely overcooked (medium when i ordered medium rare).
I would go back for the food though
Jaqueline Cuevas
One of the most amazing oyster happy hours ever! $.50, can’t be beat. Delicious and fresh. Came in on a Thursday evening and were seated promptly and had our food in front of us within 15 minutes. This was definitely something I was looking forward to coming to the city I would definitely come back. Definitely recommend the Smore‘s cheesecake dessert. I would say best happy hour in town! Our waitress Sydney was attentive and friendly. A must.
Jeannine G
Great service! Great food! They have a happy hour with drinks and raw oysters. There is a piano player in the evenings. Parking is limited but there is valet. Also, it is right on the street car line. Great place for locals and visitors.
David Parker
OMG! Excellent Food! And Accommodating staff!
Nichelle Thompson
I'm not sure this restaurant is worth the time or money for brunch. We stopped by during the first weekend of mardi gras...and let's say that was the best part of our experience. Our server took forever and a day to tend to us...which is somewhat understandable given the crowd inside. But when you place an order and half the meal is left off the plate...I'm going to say horrible service. I ordered the oyster benedict...isn't a benedict served with an English muffin or some type of bread? I got a soggy fried green tomato and a poached egg without bread or oysters. The server eventually came back with the oysters later when the egg and tomato were cold. My husband got the blackened fish with potatoes and corn...He says the flavor was good, which is the only reason I gave them 3 stars. Not worth the time or money.
Carl Jones
Everything was delicious! Waitress was great! Flounder was perfectly cooked and lemon thyme sauce amazing! Best raw oysters I've had in a long time!!!
JT_Hou
Great chargrilled oysters- definitely some of the best in New Orleans. I sat at the bar and the bartender was excellent. He recommended different places around NOLA for me to try while I am in town for work.
Tyler Young
Great happy hour deals and I really enjoyed my blackened fish Napoleon. My friend thought her gumbo was excellent, but we both agreed that the chargrilled oysters were way too heavy on the cheese. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu, the crawfish cornbread looks pretty incredible and raw oysters for $.50 each from 4-6:30 every day is pretty awesome!
Frances Endicott
Worth commenting! Great service and superb food. Southern charm atmosphere reminescent antebellum. Loved it! Visited Fat Harrys next door. Great neighborhood bar feel! All in all- a great experience.
Mel On
Ordered a drink, a dozen oysters and half a shrimp po boy. Everything was very good, though the fried shrimp did have a slight iodine taste, but it didn't stop my from eating it. Service was slow but staff were polite and professional. I sat right beside the live music, so it put me at ease. They pay enough attention to even stamp their name on the toilet paper rolls! So, go when you don't have to rush to your next place and you'll have a good time.
Akshay Mehra
One of the must try places for Oysters in New Orleans. You can get raw oysters for a dollar each during their happy hour. The menu is small but all dishes taste amazing. Seafood pastas are a must try and so is the salmon.
cynthia rodriguez
Great food great service. Loved it. Clean.
Steph Rice
Such a cool place. They were so great to me and my teenage son. They allowed him to sit at the bar with me so we could participate in the oyster happy hour. Great frozen mojitos and gumbo. Check out the happy hour!!!!
Pat McVeigh
While spending the day in the garden, we knew where we had to come for lunch. Well worth the visit, was truly Superior Seafood. The fish Lafayette was cooked perfectly, and the crawfish etoufee topping it was good enough to just eat as a soup. My Saranac cocktail was my first time trying one, and I don't know if it could be improved upon. My wife loved her shrimp, and everything that we tried was great. If you are in the mood for good seafood at a New Orleans classic, check this place out!
Ron Bryner
Claire was our awesome server. She helped us make the best choices from the menu. Happy hour was upon us so we had $3 per pound crawfish and 50 cent oysters. My wife had Redfish St Roch which was excellent. The fish was cooked perfectly on top of sauteed brussel sprouts. I had the Shrimp Andouille Brochettes which was certainly one of the best dinners I have ever enjoyed. Shrimp stuffed with andouille, Monterey jack cheese and wrapped in super thin bacon. If you need a reason to visit New Orleans, this it folks. Stop. Turn around and go there for dinner, ask for Claire
Michelle Teramani
Came into town for Boudin, Bourbon and Beer and stopped in for a lil Happy Hour with my cousin! What a great Happy Hour!! $3 for tap beers and .50 oysters! Whoop! I’m in! I also ordered the crawfish cornbread and fries just to round out the snacks! ALL very tasty! Our service was excellent! Our waitress made sure our glasses were filled and we had enough oysters! I ended the night with a couple Bloody Mary’s! Great place to hang out!
Teddy Williams
Very noisy place. Service can be better. Gumbo just ok. Grilled Oysters very very good. Catfish and crawfish entofee is way too salty. The bread pudding is very different but great.
Barbara LaFlamme
Awesome food! Our server was amazing!
Lisa McCollom
We ordered the Blackened Catfish Napolean and the Pecan Crusted Redfish. Both were out of this world! Conpliments to the chef! Our evening was made even more enjoyable by the excellent friendly service from our server, Anastasia. We will definitely be back!!
Machella Litaker
Everything is just as the name says Superior to anything else in the area. Would highly recommend it to anyone visiting New Orleans. Our waiter Kevin was right on cue and anticipated our needs before we had to ask for anything.
Keith Murphy
Great place for raw oysters on the half shell during happy hour from 4:30 to 6:30. $1.00 per oyster. 1 dozen = $12!!! Most other resturants are charging $15 to $18 per dozen.
Travis Johnson
Highly recommend. Food was amazing. Staff were very friendly. Live music. I had a very pleasant experience.
R M
The swamp tour guide recommended this place and I’m glad he did! The food was amazing and the staff were friendly and helpful. The inside was also very clean.
Brad Sexauer
Great food, service and atmosphere. Our server, a Tulane engineering student, was outstanding. And the raw oysters on the half shell were to die for.
Brian Frye
So good! The best oysters in Nola. And a bargain, especially during happy hour.
Gregg Koepke
Keith and his shuckin team were awesome! Invited us to sit at the oyster bar for food and drink and didn't disappoint! Arrived at 4pm and their HH is 1/2 price dozens, wine, beer and frozen drinks!!!🎉🔥👍they we're friendly, fun and generous. 3 dozen later, we couldn't have been more pleased this turned out to be our 7th wedding anniversary dinner...we'll be back!
Bill D
Always a go to when we visit New Orleans. It has a classic feel and a great vibe. The service and food are both top notch. Do yourself a favor and stop by.
Kelly Campbell
Oh man! Fastest shucker in the state! i sat at the bar at happy hour and slurped down 24 oysters to myself. Wine selection is great too. Very friendly service and clientele. Sitting by myself (solo traveling) I even made friends with a friendly local couple. Menu looks good, fancy. I would return for the happy hour!
W M
Madison was the best server we had while in NOLA. The food was outstanding. Happy hour prices on the weekends and great oysters.
reg will
Ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp, stuffed with the sausage!! Delicious. It's a lovely old building. It's in the garden district, well worth a visit.
George Suonvieri
This is a very nice restaurant in a good part of town. The food was great! Charbroiled oysters and everything else at the table were delicious along with the creme brulee for desert.
Luna B.
This place is perfect. We made reservations and was seated immediately. The waiter was attentive and polite.
I had the Escargot de Bourgogne as an appetizer and it was tasteful.
I had the Pasta de la Mer as my main dish. The pomodoro sauce gave the shrimp and mussels an authentic Louisiana flavor.
10/10 will go again!
FYI: Make reservations and go earlier than your set time, as parking will be a small hassle.
Steve Kreidler
Great food but it can get a little loud with the piano. It was busy but the staff did their best to keep up. I would go back if I have the chance.
Scott LaRoche
Lively fun place popular with the local residents. A wee big pricey for budget travelers. Good place, I'd go back.
Tina Carstens
Amazing. I was in town from Minnesota for a work conference along with a number of people from our home state. A few of us decided to get together for dinner and the number kept growing. I was afraid we wouldn't be able to get a reservation but I called and asked for 12 people at 7 pm. They said no problem. An hour or so later I called and said we needed to make it for 16. They said no problem. We all got sat at a nice long table and then I got word that 3 more people were coming. I explained to the manager and she said, "No problem". Seriously, i was blow away at the customer service. Our server handled our large group (with separate checks..eek) amazingly. We enjoyed every minute. The drinks, the oysters, the salads, the dinner meals, the dessert. We had two birthdays in our group and this turns out to be an awesome place to celebrate a birthday. It felt special the whole way through. You took a "work" dinner and took it to family status. Thank you!
Pete Finnigan
This place has the Ill 50¢ raw oysters for happy hour. Couple that with their 2 fer 1 frozen drink specials and it's LIT! They have something for everyone. My favorite is the frosty pomegranate mojito. The French 95 is frozen Bacardi and champagne if your feeling extra. Frozé if you're feeling basic.
William Berdine
Always my 1st stop when I get to New Orleans. Great oysters and atmosphere. Right off the St Charles line and great happy hour
Christa Schout
As always, Superior Seafood was amazing tonight. Their charbroiled oysters are what we keep coming back for, but everything is wonderful. We loved the amazing happy hour deals!
Gio Garcia
First time was a great experience. I had the herbed crusted flounder and it was delicious!! Definitely a place to come back to.
DeLancey Miller
Amazing Food! Fabulous service! Stays busy so be prepared to wait, but totally worth it!
Hudson Edwards
Very good food, but way overpriced. Over 20$ for a entree. I had muscles. and they were amazing. But other family with me had sandwiches that both had bread as hard as croutons. Google maps rated this restaurant as $$ ( not expensive), but as I said, and entree was over 20$, and a salad was 16$. The best part of my experience was with the instant seating. I walked in, and was seated immediately. This was impressive as it was 8:30. The server however, forgot to serve a drink to my party, and never checked in on us. It was at least a 20 minute gap between us getting drinks, and us ordering. Would not recommend to a tourist, and if you do go here, come for the seafood.
FoodManBru
Winnie the Pooh may have the land of milk and honey.. but New Orleans has the land of Chargrilled Oysters! 😂
Had 3 dozen of these succulent Chargrilled Oysters (garlic, butter, herbs, Parmesan & Romano cheese) and 2 dozen raw oysters as well
Happy hour is 4pm - 6:30pm so it was packed when we got there. $4 house wine and draft beers, 75 cent raw oysters, can't beat it. (The Chargrilled were still $25 a dozen but worth it!)
Great place to swing into on the next New Orleans visit!
Jon Abulencia
Wonderful service, great atmosphere. Flavor of my dishes were great- maybe a little heavy on the black pepper. Definitely try the fried alligator appetizer.
Kristin Moreland
The frozen rose' at happy hour price was a welcome surprise! I loved the crawfish corn bread and the red fish in place of the catfish.
Scott Taylor
Great Mardi Gras addition. Food, drinks, and bathrooms. Delicious food, great bar selection, and the fastest shucker in the USA!
Bryan Vergne
Bourbon and Oysters! Need I say more? The food was great and the service was outstanding. Happy hour is everyday 4-6pm. Oysters are 9 bucks, best price in the city. Vast Bourbon selection. Must visit if in New Orleans. Short ride on the St. Charles railcar from Canal Street.
Tenisha Scott
They have the best chargrilled oysters! Good food and service! Good drinks as well.
John Bemis
We almost always hit Superior for some great chargrilled oysters...good cocktails. The shrimp po-boy was fine but not spectacular. There was nice live piano when we were there last.
Thomas
Brisket PoBoy was unfortunately pretty dry. The charbroiled oysters were decent, but we've had better. The redfish was delicious and the service was great as well.
Bill Cheatham
Located "Uptown" New Orleans right on St. Charles. They offer outstanding authentic Louisiana seafood with a killer oyster bar.
Don't miss their daily Happy Hour specials... $.50 raw oysters, half price wine & 2 fo 1 frozen Mojitos. I love to start off with a dozen raw oysters then follow it up with "ANGELS ON HORSEBACK", Lightly fried, bacon-wrapped oysters... what's not to like. And, you've got to try "The Beauregard"- Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Leroux Orange Triple Sec, Fresh Mint. It is so good, but caution, they go down very easy.
My favorite entree is the Redfish Creole... Grilled redfish, served with braised greens and corn maque choux, with beurre blanc sauce.
They also have steak and chicken offerings for those of you that don't care for seafood.
The whole restaurant has such a vibrant old school vibe, with a large bar and separate crescent shaped Oyster Bar.
Paula Coste
Oysters were good, some were over cooked.
Jason Bohnenstiehl
It was extremely loud during my last visit. Maybe don't put a four-top between two large parties. We ended up rushing through to leave.
I'm NickJamesBi**h
I loved everything about this place. It was my 1st time here. The service was on point. The food was awesome. The char boiled oysters were the best I ever had in a restaurant.
Warning: If you are thinking about going there, your best bet is to call in for a reservation. They had 704 people scheduled for a reservation from 5pm through 10 pm.
Art Borja
If you are looking for fresh seafood and amphibian and reptilian fare from the swamp, look no further. This is the place. Fresh seafood! They have their own seafood market. Awesome food!
Jessica Woodruff
Try the char-grilled oysters - you won’t regret it! They were big and meaty and so delicious. Grab a frozen pomegranate mojito while you’re at it!
Laura Sturgeon
Every time we are in New Orleans we make sure to go to Superior Seafood! Very classy yet laid back atmosphere. Dress up or come casual. The service and the food are phenomenal. Brunch has wonderful selections and frozen mimosas that are out of this world! Best shrimp and grits that I’ve had in a long time. Crawfish Mac n Cheese is delicious! Can’t say enough good about it, my favorite place to eat in the Big Easy!
Mimi
Great service, great food, great atmosphere! Our waiter Kevin was so nice.
Amy Kutell
The flounder is delicious! Food and service are always top notch, and the ambiance is "fun, classic New Orleans"!
Kevin Sauer
Fantastic seafood dining experience in a great atmosphere. I found their wine prices to be very reasonable and the food was well priced, given the taste and portions. One of the partners in the restaurant, I believe his name was John Michael, came by near the end of our meal to ensure we had a great experience.
We didn't catch the happy hour but it looks like they have great deals.
Baiba Grazdina
Char grilled oysters are super delicious and worth the trip. We enjoyed fried alligator, too.
Joey Tan
Great service and efficient! Happy hour has $1 oysters which were delicious! Definitely don’t miss out on the chargrilled oysters either!
Mofan Sanderson
Great food and cool vibes. There was alive jazz when we went for lunch which I was happily surprised by.
cynthia savage
Nothing short of AMAZING!
We had a group of 20 in the back patio celebrating a birthday.
The booking process with Aimee was professional and easy.
The service was incredible.
The drinks were incredible.
The appetizers were incredible.
The entrees were incredible.
The desserts were incredible.
We could not have been happier with Superior Seafood!
Thank you for making our event a success
Ariana Boggs
Highly recommend! Made a reservation for a group of 8 that became 9 and they accommodated us. Great happy hour deals on wine and raw oysters. Best raw and chargrilled oysters I've ever had, plus really yummy escargot. We had the BEST server too, I wish I remembered her name... brunette woman, mid to late 20s/early 30s, has a tattoo of a lipstick on her wrist. So sweet, easy going, great recommendations- definitely added to our experience.
Gary Oakes
This pace was hopping on a weeknight. Arrived a bit early for our reservation but they still seated us early. Happy hour was fantastic, great deals on oysters and drinks. Oysters were delicious, as were our main entrees. Really enjoyed this place, will definitely be back!
Yuri Johnson
Had a great time here. The happy hour was gracious with a $.75 per oyster. As you can see they are big. Also big shout out to Cat. She was an excellent waitress.
Timothy Reese
Great happy hour with delicious 50 cent oysters and fantastic wine and local draft beer specials for only $3!
Shannon Seifried
Excellent food and Service. Ask for Johnny he was excellent and made our time there fantastic. A++
TeeNan 2016
Let me just say that I enjoyed my experience here. The food and drinks were excellent. A downside was when we first arrived and wanted a corner table on the side patio. We were informed that it was reserved just as Anna was coming to seat the party of 2. They even offered to sit a table over as did we to which Anna totally blew them off and said we could sit over there as if we were trash. Thought it was just us but noticed she had a nasty attitude with other patrons as well. This is not acceptable nor is it beneficial to such a great business. We also encountered Kayla and let me just say that if all the employees had her kind spirit and energy, you would have it going on! She is a great asset to business.
Jason Smith
Rebecca was the best!! Great service, great food! One of the best spots in the city!!
Mocha Shakur
Just having the appetizers was amazing!! The crawfish beignet was awesome the bartender was soooo welcoming!! Love love it
Thomas Biggerstaff
Awesome food, drinks, and the staff had perfectly dry humor. Definitely heading back!
Jen Hong
Superior Seafood is really great for happy hour. We always go for 50c oysters, huge cheap and delicious frozen drinks and have a good time. Their carrot cake is also very delicious! The vibe inside is pretty loud, but during Christmas, there is a live piano player. We always make reservations because it can get pretty busy during happy hour, and we always request to sit outside. Otherwise, their food is pretty overpriced (although decent).
Joseph Jessee
First and foremost, the service was amazing. The host was on point and polite. The server Jacob was one of the best servers I have ever experienced. Jacob was conversational but not too much. He listened to us and made recommendations align with our expectations. The food was great as well! The alligator was delicious, the only thing risotto was perfect. Looking forward to my next visit during my next trip to New Orleans.
Stacy Goldthorpe
Our waitress served with great detail and care. The menu has a good variety and food was well seasoned. The shrimp andouille bruschette is fairly unique to this restaurant.
My only hang up is that the dining area does not absorb much sound so it’s noisy making it hard to have an intimate dinner.
Taylor Irwin
It’s been almost a month now since we were here for a bachelor party and I can’t shake how good of a job these guys did to make up for some mistakes made by the front of house staff. To make up for the wait and an incorrectly cooked steak, the manager him self went into the back and cooked the steak perfectly. Then, a gentleman and staff member who knew his stuff about bourbon came by to chat it up for a while and share some excellent pours with the table. Highly recommend.
Hannah Young Mendoza
We had an overall great time here with friends from out of town! Our waitress was not interested in being there, though, and the mushroom risotto was very bland. The rest of our meals were great!
Bella
Excellent Oyster Bar. Good staff, good atmosphere. Ous waitress was a little bit moody but besides that staff was excellent.
Desha Greely
Great atmosphere for an office holiday party. Restaurant fit you right end with a little preparation if you call in early
J Gonzalez
I’ll never have New England Oysters again. Once you go gulf you never go back. The happy hour has to be the best in the city. Hands down.
Keith Byrd
Excellent brunch and the oysters were amazing!! Highly recommend and take the street car from the French Quarter.
SRC
Phenomenal pecan crusted redfish. The bisque I ordered was more like a chowder, so I can't recommend that. Packed house, service was nice but overworked, and dinner took a little longer than I would've liked - 90 minutes - as I was dining alone at the bar
ella ahmed
Amazing happy hour value. The frose is yummy and gumbo!! Also had the broiled oysters that were good and the French 75 salad was great!
Jarrett Servance
Highly recommend the Red Fish Roch. It's delicious, very nice dining experience and very friendly!

First time here. My waitress was super helpful (Catherine). Had a wonderful experience. Gonna be back again just to see her.
Rocco Corica
My friend simply Loved her happy hour oysters. I enjoyed crawfish macncheese. Management was very efficient catering to customers during a power outage. Very difficult situation
Megan Delzell
Absolutely LOVED everything we tried here! We came for dinner on a suggestion from a local driver during vacation (our original plans weren’t open the day we stopped by and he rerouted us here). You have to try the crawfish Mac and cheese! The two of us shared the app and it was the perfect amount, with a little extra. For dinner, we had the Salmon Lafitte and Pasta vieux carré. Both dishes were incredible, my boyfriend even finished the meal with “that’s the best seafood I’ve had in years.” We also had the Hendricks Orleans (gin), Classic whiskey sour, and another that I can’t remember the name of… tequila. The bartenders really know how to put a drink together and our server was fantastic. If you’re in NOLA, be sure to stop by for a great experience.
Dawn Cornejo
Everything about this place was top notch. The service, the food, the drinks. I thought I got pictures of our entrees and soups but somehow they got lost. We got the gumbo, the crab and crawfish bisque, shrimp and grits and the new York strip steak. It was probably our best meal in NOLA. We will definitely return the next time we are in town.
Sibin Stephen
All the food at this place was just absolutely incredible. The oysters were insanely great and better priced than other oysters I've had in the city. The desserts were even better. My friends really enjoyed the carrot cake but I was more of a fan of the flourless chocolate cake. Creme brulee was pretty yummy as well. A bit loud in the restaurant, but I think that's a testament to the popularity.
Doug Baden
WONderful food, amazing broiled and raw oysters. I had a delightful "blue" filet mignon, and the table all ordered a different dessert so we could sample.
Lukasz Zbylut
The oysters are truly big and delicious. The restaurant is rather loud.
Jason Coleman
Solid food. Enjoyed our meal. Was a little crazy during Mardi gras but the staff handled it really well.
Les Zmolik
There's an underground freestyle rap competition in the basement everyday from 7am to 9am. Hosted by DJ Oysta Shucka. Winner not only gets to but has to drink a gallon of milk in under 3 mins.
Victoria Evans
Outstanding service tonight with Ethan! He was so attentive, fun, interesting, informative, energetic. For such a packed house, service was surprisingly fast. Appetizers were divine. HIGHLY recommend the bruchetta (go here just for this), and grilled oysters, both 5+ stars / 5. Crawfish beignets get 4.5 / 5 stars, excellent, super rich so plan to share. Escargot better elsewhere. 7-year old daughter raved about the fried shrimp, said BEST she has had! House Pinot Noir (Nielson) very nice, can't beat the happy hour bottle price every day. Of course the frozen specialty drinks fantastic, French 75 and Pomegranate Mojito. When we had one small issue with an entrée, Ethan took care of it immediately. We will be back soon! 👍👍👍👍👍
Roger Clarke-Johnson
An icon of culinary excellence in the Big Easy. Sip your tasty, alcoholic slushie as you sit at the Oyster Bar and see/taste for yourself why they won 1st Place in NOLA for Oyster Bars. Don't like iysters? Order the catfish. It comes with crawfish ettoufe...yum!
D Romero
Loved happy hour oysters also got the multiple oyster plate so good. The service was great they were so sweet.
Que Chance
Food was great but... I'm not sure if was good enough to warrant the time spent waiting. As a former chef I know that good food isn't everything. To have a 30-45 minute wait in a Monday turn into over an hour to be seated and then another 45 minutes to receive appetizers is almost unheard of. Add another 20-25 minute wait to receive entrees and a visit that started at 5:45p was finally wrapped up at 9p. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed at times and I think a front of the house manager wound up seeing that or food got to us. Again the food was great but...
Cherise Huffines Burnett
Excellent jazz Sunday brunch.
We went back Monday for Happy hour, .75 cent oysters, $4 wine, prosecco and large speciality frozen drinks for the price of a small.
Joel Ezekiel
Very fancy oysters weren't properly washed and had shell and sand in my mouth when I was shooting the oysters but good for happy hour
GM Cris
We had the Char-grilled oysters for appetizers, pasta del mer and salmon lafitte for our entrees and the carrot cake and profiteroles for desserts. They were all delicious. It's a very busy restaurant, I suggest making a reservation otherwise you could be waiting half an hour for a table.
Ixel Balamke
Very loud and hard to hear a conversation. The food is amazing. The servers are highly overworked.
kristin Worley
Food was delicious. We had a very large group and the server was on top of things.
Sam M (Drivebytourist)
Absolutely delish. Great service and food came out super fast. KATE was AWESOME!
Justin King
One of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans. Food and drinks are amazing. Try one of the frozen drinks they have.
Yourmustachman
Welcome to on if the best restaurants in the garden district. The crawfish macaroni and cheese is to die for as well as, the fried gator. The service is wonderful and the entrees were served fresh and hot. I had the brunch spinach, mushroom cheese omelette and my wife had the shrimp and grits...... our waitress Rebecca was so funny, friendly and great....despite being super busy... I give 5 mustaches...PS. I had the frozen Irish coffee for dessert, strong!!!!!
Paul Hudalla
Enjoyed this place while visiting New Orleans. Oysters were great and super good deal for happy hour.
Olivia H
The place was fully packed on a Monday evening and I almost had to wait two hours for a table, luckily I found seats at the bar. The service was slow but understandable… the shrimp andouille bacon wrap was a bit salty but the mash was delicious, the burrata wasn’t good because it was warm so it just threw off the taste for me. Carpaccio was delicious too. I had the pomegranate mojito, very yummy drink, highly recommend.
Christina Davis
Excellent food and who can turn down a frozen mimosa?
Charlene Bond
Delicious oysters! Very busy. Make reservations ahead of time. Pasta is fantastic. Their kids Alfredo and chicken pasta was better than my pasta and shrimp plate (can't recall the name), which was still good. Good place to eat.
Stacy Blassingame
This place is amazing! It's hard for me to eat GF but they had items marked on their menu and the food was OUTSTANDING! Service was incredible as well.
Cole Claiborne
John Michael, Thomas, and the entire wait staff are always jovial, polite, and accommodating. The food and drinks are always on point! Great ambiance! My kids love the piano man and the birthday desert firework! The tuna app and burger are great! A++
Aaron Lightsey
I love going here, my favorite happy hour and they always deliver the best French 75 and sidecar
Jason Martin
Happy hour until 6 is awesome. 5 dollar frozen beverages. 4 dollar beers. Great ambiance
Abby Curtis-Palmer
We are foodies and tried grilled oysters here and at the highly recommended "Acme". These were much better and sitting out on the patio was lovely. We liked it so much we went back again with friends and had more oysters and some different entrees.
Roca Welch
Shrimp and grits were wonderful although the andouill sausage was a bit too hot for me. I was able to push them aside and enjoy the dish. Beautiful inside. Portions are not big, which our group appreciated.
Jay C
When its not too busy to get a table at happy hour, I really like to go here to start with oysters and drinks. This visit, went with friends and their kids and we were able to reserve a large outside table and they had booster seats for us and we were well taken care of without any incident re kids. I was very happy with the visit (which partially hinged on those kids behaving, granted).
Fried alligator appetizer was nicely done, not too chewy. Entrees were all solid. Drinks were affordable.
John Hunsucker
Went for brunch. Service is outstanding. Great menu. The gumbo has a great rich dark roux with tons of sausage and chicken in it. Wife has shrimp and grits which were smooth and flavorful. The only down part was the crawfish and crabmeat bisque was a little fishy. Server noticed that my son didn’t eat much and inquired and took off bill which I objected to as we ordered it. Drinks were great Chicken and biscuits looked to be hand cut and battered. Definitely worth a stop
Kim Ford
They were out of bread during Essence weekend and didn't tell me until my oysters arrived. You know proper oyster eating requires French bread! In New Orleans, many restaurants give poor service during Essence.
Ana Polacek
Looks touristy, but it is an all around great restaurant - nice tables, nice ambiance, great, food & drinks & service. The music list needs updating however.
Dom Yeates
Travelled through New Orleans from Australia in 2017 with a group of 5 friends. To this day, we still talk about our memorable experience at this stunning restaurant.
We made the most of happy hour oysters and ordered about 80. They were enormous and delicious. The meatiest oysters we've ever seen. And all the other dishes were just perfect.
Thank you for this long-lasting dining memory!
Rachael Acevedo-Hoffmann
Fantastic oysters for the price. The mussels were pretty well cooked. Highly recommend the bacon-wrapped shrimp stuffed with andouille sausage. So tasty!
Hannah Hoang
There was a long wait time. However, the oysters were delicious so that did make up for the wait. It was on the pricey side. My waiter was nice. The place was fairly clean.
Jared Bellow
Good service, great Vibes, local/fresh food, & stiff drinks. What more can you ask for.
Fannie Tobias
A wonderful place to eat. Really enjoyed my Birthday dinner.
sally zohney
Great service, value for money, family friendly and chic environment. Stoped for lunch and our orders were perfect. Highly recommend their char-grilled Oysters and bisque soup
Ryan Beverly
Outstanding, the food is top notch, the service was good. Started with oysters on the half shell which were delicious, then we ordered the Bourbon flight to go with the entree. Before that came out however we ordered the Filet Salad which was one of the best we have had, the filet was tender and juicy and the salad crisp and tangy from the essence of the cheese ( definitely need to order this). Then we split the Shrimp Pesto Risotto which we sampled the flight to. The whole atmosphere felt very chill and it was definitely a good experience. We both agreed that we would be back as soon as we could.
M Ha
Great vibrant place, great service and staff. Oysters are delicious.
David Sansing
Good food and easy to locate. Fish is the specialty. Parking is difficult so know what you are doing.
Shlomi Zan
Very recommended. The food was great and also the service. Great atmosphere.
Tom & Sue Haines
Hands down the best meal we’ve had in our 5 day stay in New Orleans. From appetizer to salad to entree to desert, the food was fabulous. Only downside was the noise level.
Ricardo Wang
What a find! 50¢ Oysters at happy hour 4 - 6pm! Well worth a trolley ride out of the French Quarter.
Chris Hadley
Food was good, but rather pricey for the quality that you received. Seafood items were well made, lacking somewhat in flavor and spice and not the best quality ingredients, but good. Very nice ambiance, great for socializing and business occasions.
Emerson Alvarez
Great service. Great Oysters and good selection of cocktails
Brian Weimer
Best happy hour in the city, daily from 4 PM to 6:30 PM, including weekends. 50 cent oysters, $3 draft beers, $3 glasses of wines, and two for the price of one frozen drinks. The French 75 frozen drink and the pomegranate mojito frozen drink are both absolute loveliness.
Aurejana Ceaser
Food was delicious! I loved the crawfish mac & cheese and the crawfish beignets!😋 I also had the filet mignon which was also great.
ATX Always
Really a fabulous experience all around.
The atmosphere was lively and warm and kid friendly too. Our server, Muriel, was delightful. She knows all about the menu and the restaurant and really guided us well. She was also great with the kids. And the food was perfect! We ordered Alfredo for kids, one order was plenty for 2 toddlers. Then appetizers of Oysters Supreme, all 3 were equally tasty. The fried alligator was perfectly cooked. We also had the bisque, great for a cold night. And then we (2 adults) split the Tchopatoulas Chicken. It was soooo flavorful and the serving was generous. This is a beautiful restaurant and they really know how to take care of their customers. I def recommend it.
Tiffany Glass
Up scale food really good,
great service
Huge bourbon selection
Robert M
Overall a very good place for seafood dinner. We showed up on time for our 7:15 pm reservation, but the place was packed and lots of other parties were waiting, so we weren't seated until around 7:40 pm. Not a big deal--our server (Celeste) was very pleasant and our (quite good) manhattans came out promptly. Our apps (raw oysters and chargrilled oysters) were delicious and took things in the right direction. We giggled a little when we saw a Sysco truck pull up and make a delivery: We associate that with cafeteria and diner food, but I guess they operate in varied circles. Our herb-crusted flounder was tasty, but I thought the overall dish flavor was kind of bland. The standout for me was the redfish entree--one of the best dishes on our seven-day stay in NOLA. When we made reservations, we were asked if there was a special occasion, and I indicated that it was our anniversary. Weirdly, no acknowledgment of it was made at all.... But okay, overall, a very good meal.
Ashley Mckenzie
Great food and service! Had to show vaccination record for the first time. I definitely support this restaurant!
Elise Young
Cannot go wrong with Superior Seafood!! We typically eat here more than once on a New Orleans weekend trip. Love the brunch menu! If you have a group, make a reservation. 1-4 people show up even if the wait is crazy long and find a spot at the bar or oyster bar. I've been going here for 8+ years and never had a bad meal.
Greg Pryzby
really good and found a place at the bar for 7! chargrilled and raw oysters the spot
Lamonica Jenkins
It was too pricey for some items such as shrimp and grits 25$ for seven shrimp half bowl of grits. Good vibes tho
Bennie Smith (BenAroundTown)
Fresh seafood great atmosphere and it's right on the St Charles trolley line
Kristi Chvala
We've been to Superior many times over the last few years as our son was a Tulane student. This is by far our favorite restaurant in New Orleans....and on the top of our list in the US. The service has always been incredible. That is rare to find nowadays, especially since it's always very busy (I recommend reservations). The food is delicious and well priced. My favorite dish is the crawfish cornbread. OMG!!! Soooooo good. My husband and son always start with some oysters. Beverage list is extensive with a good wine selection. Highly recommend! Even if you are staying downtown. It's not a far Uber and much better than most of the stuff you get on Bourbon. Thank you Superior! We'll be back in July. :)
Jane Farve
Simply love it here! My server Johatjon was the best server I've had anywhere in a long time. Food was delicious too
Shyra Hayes-Williams
We went for chargrilled oysters and were disappointed. They had wayyyyyy to much cheese baked on them. The entrees were bland and description of the them was muchhhhh better than the actual dishes themselves. Sad to say unfortunately that I won't be back.
LaTia Scott
I searched for a place outside of the French Quarters and on the way to the airport and I came across this place. I am so glad I did! It's absolutely awesome here and it has been added to my regular New Orleans must haves. I'm going to talk about things people normally don't in a review. First and foremost not only are you greeted with a smile, but the restaurant is so inviting. We came in about 11:30 on a Tuesday and the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. We chose to grab a seat at the oyster bar, the full bar was completely available in case you were wondering. Rebecca was our server and bartender and my goodness I couldn't have asked for a better or more special human being. She was attentive and gave recommendations, listen to her! We chose a dozen of chargrilled oysters, which were absolutely amazing, the Nepoleon catfish and the salmon Latiff....... DELICIOUS, DELICIOUS, DELICIOUS. The drinks were really good too, I had the frozen French 75 and he had a Sazerac which was nicely balanced. For dessert bread pudding was it and it was also good. I will also add that the cleanliness of the bathroom was impressive. I will be a regular while in town and parking wasn't difficult. I wanted to pack Rebecca up and take her with us, such a gentle caring soul. Don't cheat yourself, treat yourself self!
Gary D
Had the Happy hour .50¢ oysters... I left the cracker for size reference. 2 dozen, this size, 2 Stella's-$13.22 I'll be back!
Nantawan Dompraphagorn
First time tried a risotto..It was incredible and can´t wait to be back againn.
Darian Blue
This is a very nice restaurant. Family atmosphere but very pricey. Love the service my waiter Spencer made my birthday so much more special. He kept my glass filled and always checked on me and my guest. The only thing that I have a problem with is the parking. The parking is terrible but I did find one up the street. I enjoyed my food and I think Spencer for his hospitality.
Cameron Baker
Extremely busy and that really reduced from the experience. The tables are packed together and staff are working too many tables.
45 for our drinks and nearly an hour for the bread that all the tables received.
The oysters were massive and delicious once they came out.
Raquel Bryan
Absolutely worth the money. Everything was on point. Can't wait to visit again
Gerald Greco
Good bar service. Oysters Superior (Rockefeller, Bienville and Char-Grilled combo) were high quality, hot, delicious and served quickly.
Sam Stunkel
The food is as good as the name suggests. The drinks (especially those frozen drinks!) are astounding. But it's the service that keeps me coming back. That and the menu that always reflects the week to week changes that take place.
On numerous occasions I've come in right when the daily happy hour is about to end and the server tries to get your order in before the cutoff of the happy hour. Every single time. Then recently I had a snafu with a gift card and Alexander in the office made it right as fast as he could. Truly 5 star service right on Napoleon and St. Charles.
It is a piece of New Orleans that should never be skipped.
Virdea R
Food was amazing...the servers was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and specials
Kinzetta Harris
We had 8:30 reservations but got seated at 8 by the very kind manager. The hostess was extremely rude to my 50 year old aunt who wasn't moving fast enough with her vax car I suppose. It almost spoiled my appetite. BUT the manager kindly escorted her away and seated us....Our dining experience was exceptional. Our waiter was charming and helpful. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. The wine pairings are spot on!! I will definitely come back!
Adam Ogden
We went for dinner but my wife and I wanted some poboys the waiter (Derrick) let us order from the lunch menu. Food was top notch. The atmosphere was great there was a piano player there playing some jazz music and it wasn't overly crowded. I could have just sat and relaxed there except for time constraints.
Louisa Buford
Delicious and great wait staff. I came here for raw oysters 3x this week.
I.M. Photography
Staff was organized, fun, and lively. Amazing food aswell.
Ryan Guerdon
Absolutely loved this place! Will not return to New Orleans without visiting.
WendI Lin Dorman
Everything was exquisitely great! And the service came with a smile! And awesome waiter?
Phil Sigler
Great food...I really enjoyed the oysters.
Moshe
Sweet people. Food was very tasty. At my table we had oysters, red fish, salad with steak, and more seafood. We all loved our food. Portions are smaller which were happy . Oh yes lots of local beer, Who Dat .
Shari Michael
While it took a long time to get our entree, the crawfish cornbread came out fast and is nothing short of amazing! I had the Pasta DeLa Mer and unfortunately the grilled shrimp was over grilled and dry but the mussels and sauce with the pasta was very tasty. This is a very high energy place and we did have a good time. My husband's chicken sandwich bun was way over toasted and the chicken was dry.

Great service, friendly, helpful (Grace)! Had raw oysters (big and meaty) for appetizer. Dinners were shrimp and redfish, both delicious. Oh and we were there at happy hour so caught a break on our drinks and oysters (yay!)

Good atmosphere. Good food. Good service. Good historic location and building. We went for happy hour . Oysters, beer on tap, and wine. We were able to relax and enjoy a couple of drinks with oysters. Winter time is the best for oysters in New Orleans. The place was filled with many people eating oysters. The place is located on Napoleon and St. Charles Street. Sit by the windows to see streetcars going by. Good taste of New Orleans outside of The French Quarter.

Food was so-so, small portions, not my favorite place in New Orleans.

The best oysters I found while in New Orleans, among other things. We ate here twice on our trip all the appetizers and meals we ordered were delicious it was our favorite spot we found.

Food is always 10/10. The Pecan Crusted Black Drum is out of this world. Also tried the Crusted Flounder recently and was very satisfied. Oysters Raw/Charbroiled are Great.
Good environment.
This weekend (6/5/2021)I made reservations for my Birthday and the waitress not only gave us TERRIBLE service she also forgot to bring out the cake and sing Happy birthday after telling her it was my birthday.😂 Thomas Houston with management was very pleasant and helped with our situation. I still never received a Birthday Celebration🎂
I will be visiting again when returning to NOLA. Just not for a Birthday Celebration 😅

Fresh, sweet gulf oysters, delicious crawfish cornbread, and properly seasoned blackened catfish filled me up. Our server, Addison, was most helpful and attentive. This restaurant lives up to its name. Highly recommend.

One of the best seafood ever the ambiance the waitress it was 🥰 💞 👌 loved everything about this place …

This place is absolutely killer. Oysters were amazing (especially the ones covered in cheese), the crawfish cornbread is lit, and the crab-stuffed mushrooms are staggering. Also, major shoutout to Jarod, the single most amazing waiter I've ever encountered. He surprised us with a desert attached to a firecracker, and made us some hot towels tableside (there was also fire involved in this). TL;DR, go to this place, ask for Jarod, and tip him well.

When you step in here, you get the feeling that this place is a New Orleans institution. It ranks high with a bustling atmosphere and a surprisingly loud piano singer. What it lacks in culinary inventiveness, it provides ample service in a place that runs like a well-oiled machine. It’s the kind of place you might go if you’re a tourist, or to take your family visiting in from out of town, or where you go’d for cocktail if you lived in the neighborhood. Then you can cross it off your list of “places to say you went.”

This was a stop on our "green line" trolley and it looked like a popular place, so we decided to stop in and check it out. This is more upscale restaurant and their selections make this very obvious.
They have offerings such as herb crusted flounder and salmon among their choices along with steaks which looked delicious. I opted for their signature cheeseburger which was delicious, although the fries could have been a bit better...they seemed a bit overdone and small.
Our waitress Rachel was amazing and incredibly attentive, one of the best we have had in some time. The service was fast and the food was very well prepared.
My only gripe was that I was not hungry enough to try one of their more exclusive entrees but I will be sure to do so next time I'm in New Orleans.

Excellent food and service. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town.

My experience here was excellent. We sat at the oyster bar. The guy shucking Oysters was friendly and the fastest shucker. Just look at his awards! Our waitress was phenomenal! And our good was delicious. Each dish made my pallette dance! We had Oyster Superior, House Salad, and blackened fish.

Our server Summer and Thomas the manager are awesome. Well worth the street car ride out here from the French qtr. Definitely recommend as a break from downtown madness. Food is 👍 …

My favorite happy hour in the world. $1 oysters, large frozen French 75s for the price of a small. Heaven.

This place was absolutely delicious! Their fresh baked bread was so tasty and everything we ordered there was so yummy and full of flavor. We got charbroiled oysters (which is a must here) and they were absolutely delicious! We got the crawfish mac and it was rich without being overpowing. I highly recommend it!!

Went to NOLA distillery and they recommended the happy hour here for the oysters. Sat w my husband at the oyster bar... did not disappoint! Great hard workers! Great happy hour. The Benson chicken sandwich was just ok. Our server was young curly hair guy... very flip and condescending that all at bar talked about so that was super annoying. We happened to sit w a lovely woman who was a chef for 30 years... she was fascinating so you never know who you get to meet! (We both agreed the sever was pretentious... who pours wine into my glass from a foot in the air w a big show... hope that is corrected... as well as many other comments he flipped)

Stick to the oysters...food wasnt memorable...service was fine, great atmosphere, nice restaurant, but outside of the oysters, theres little else that was good to eat.

Has the appearance of a "tourist fancy" restaurant but is definitely the real deal. Had happy hour oysters, a couple of drinks, and the risotto. All were excellent!
Caleb Hensley
Very very good restaurant with amazing servers!
Shrimp and grits were the best in town

It’s over an hour and my party of 4 is still waiting on our order. We are African American. We sat at the Oyster bar. 2 other white groups sat after us . They have finished their meals and are paying their checks. We have had drinks, raw oysters, char broiled oysters, bread and salad but still no meal

I have family who lives in New Orleans and have been coming for years - recently, I've been spending some time working a few days a week out of local restaurants with the pandemic going on. This place is one of the best run restaurants I've ever seen. All the staff is moving extremely fast, efficiently, and are very attentive to customer's needs. The management is not ridiculous like in some restaurants and are extremely professional. The food is excellent and consistent. Not overpriced. It's one of the best attended places I've been to as customers seem to notice this place even when going out is a difficult decision during these times - its well attended but not overcrowded. Not to mention the setup is awesome particularly with the "outside areas" that are actually enclosed patios with air conditioning. Truly one of the best places to go in all of New Orleans. Really appreciate this gem!

Seafood bisque, crawfish and fresh blackened grouper were all wonderful 😋 …
