The wife and I participated in the VIP package for this event. It didn't disappoint! Gina was our hostess and she was nothing short of fabulous. No joke! We got to spend time with Captain Steve who gave us a brief tour of the boat. The food and drinks were absolutely on point. We can't wait to go back!

My family and I LOVE riding on the River boat cruises! We always recommend getting the lunch/dinner included. Even though it costs a little more it is well worth it! Even for the kids. We are by far waiting for the Natchez to return back to the water after her much needed remodel is completed. However, The City of New Orleans does not disappoint. My ONLY downfall is the time allowed for eating. It is an "all you can eat" but you will only have no more than 45 minutes to eat everything you can. I just dont think that is enough time for a family of 4 or more to eat ALL you can. And also, the alcoholic drink prices are VERY expensive. River boats are TRULY the most expensive places to drink in the city. We limit ourselves to 1 drink per person. Average cost will be $7.00-$18.00 for each drink. But it is and has always been a great experience!

We purchased the Jazz Brunch Cruise a week in advance and didn’t think we had chance, but the staff member was kind enough to tell us “everyone makes mistakes.” All aboard! The tour guide was pretty interesting and the view of the city skyline was a sight to behold. I enjoyed the dining area, but the food wasn’t very tasteful. For the price I feel we could of gotten a little more bang for our buck. The server was very kind but seemed a bit overwhelmed, due to having to bus her own tables. Thus, slowing down brunch, main reason I bring that up is before you knew it we were headed back to port. I would of enjoyed more time on deck seeing the sights and learning about the history of this great town. Hopefully my feed back helps improve the next guest experience and makes it a 5 star experience for someone else. Worth a shot if you haven’t had the experience before. Got to love supporting small business, the blood line of America.

I really enjoyed our lunch jazz cruise on the Steamboat Natchez. Although the food definitely needed a lot of work. They claim there is a buffet, but they just serve every person the same exact meal! Not good because I couldn’t eat much of what they gave me because everything was kinda spicy. The band was great but there was never any room where they played. Do the cruise without the food option, you will be happy you did

Had a very relaxing cruise on the City of New Orleans riverboat. Loved the nostalgia, the band was great and the buffet dinner was also very good, loved the bananas foster ice cream for dessert. Our server, Melanie, was very attentive and adeptly anticipated our needs and was incredibly pleasant to talk to. My family and I enjoyed our celebration cruise immensely. It was a bit cold but there was plenty of room inside to stay warm when we needed. When booking dinner know that the boat stays docked until 7pm so if you want to have dinner while underway, choose the later dinner options. The NOLA skyline was beautiful at nighttime. Highly recommend doing this at least once. You won’t be disappointed.

This review is specific to the fabulous work crew. Everyone is so nice, approachable and helpful. My fried and I purchased the lunch with our ticket however we are both vegetarians and there were no veggie options. The Manager Tran Bach went out of our way to make it right and better for us! She’s truly an asset to her employer, she’s fabulous!

Really great cruise and dinner. Weather was perfect late afternoon. The dinner was actually the best tasting food I’ve ever had in Nola and I’ve been coming for 30 plus years. My friends said the same thing. The bread pudding and bananas foster ice cream …wow just credible

Great time on the cruise! We had the dinner with baked chicken, seafood pasta, jambalaya, and green beans. Dessert was bread pudding and banana foster. Everything was delicious. Our server was Angela Dennis, she was amazing. Excited to return!

We had a fun time. The band was great. Our only complaint was it was advertised as a southern buffet. The only items that were available were chicken, potatoes, green beans, seafood pasta, bread pudding and ice cream. Although the food was very good, I expected more choices in a buffet.

The City of New Orleans Riverboat was beautifully adorned with Christmas decorations. The band had the right energy for a brunch, playing classic Louis Armstrong and Sidney Bechet, peppered with some traditional holiday tunes. Appreciated the tour guide who spoke clearly and was open to answering questions. Despite the weather being a little drizzly and cloudy, the experience was still excellent. Friendly service however some of the breakfast items had room for improvement. Regardless, great experience!

Angela Dennis was a phenomenal server! Loved her personality and as always the food was delicious. Also seeing Ms. Tran Bach again brought overwhelming joy. She took care of my boyfriend and I a few months ago and she warmed our hearts! She remembered us and still took care of us!! Looking forward to the next visit!

The food was friggin delicious and our waitress Angela was quite funny. It was insanely cold outside but plenty of room to hangout inside the different desks and dining/bar areas. Definitely a good addition to our NOLA trip!

We had booked the Dinner/Jazz Cruise and was really looking forward to a relaxing tour of the Mighty Mississippi! Unfortunately our dinner time coincided with the departure of the cruise which means we spend most of the guided tour in the dining room only seeing minimally out the side windows. By the time we finished dinner, we had made it as far south as we were going and began the trip back up river which included no further details. The music was good and the food was really good, especially the gumbo and the seafood pasta. Quicker service, or an earlier seating time would have made this a 4-5 star trip.

Jambalaya was great. Potatoes were amazing. Gumbo was good. Could not eat the chicken and mushrooms entree as I am alergic to mushrooms. They did not have an alternate option. Our server Angela was great.

Gina was the life of the party. She made us feel special as this was our 10th Wedding Anniversary. The cruise was awesome..very interesting narrative and wonderful views. The food great except they seemed short staffed at the second lunch seating and were serving messy half filled plates. We had to ask for the sides and desert also. The difference was noticed when the serving staff appeared and the plates looked much more appetizing with more food on them and neatly served. Thats why this received a 4 star review.

It was not the experience I hoped for. The music was like listening to bagpipes. The food was not good. Low budget food for a high price. The fish was very good. But had to request more. Cash only throughout the boat....what a bummer. Stop at the ATM on the dock. They could step it up the menu and that band.

The food was great, and our server ANGELA DENNIS was incredible- fun, efficient and personable- all the kiddos loved her and she was great! The narration of the cruise was interesting and the riverboat itself was fun!!! This was a great choice for our group !

I had the best experience ever on this boat. Everything was great from the food to the live music. But what really made my visit special was my server Brenda. She knew it was my birthday before we arrived and greeted me with birthday wishes as I entered the boat. Throughout the evening she constantly checked on me regardless of my location on the boat and made sure my glass was full at all times. Southern hospitality lives within this woman and it was wonderful to experience coming from and living in Washington DC. I plan to return and I will be demanding Brenda as my server if she’s still around lol. Also the Captain was great as well as he gave us a tour of the boat. Not sure if that was included in our VIP package but nonetheless it was a wonderful evening on the Riverboat.

Our family decided to take Riverboat ride with our 4 yr old grandson for something unique to do on our trip to New Orleans. We had the greatest time. The second level indoors was wonderfully air conditioned yet we also walked outside all over the ship. The piano player Richard Scott was so entertaining & had a voice that reminded me of the great Louis Armstrong. My grandson loved watching the paddle wheel turn & feel the light spray of water on a hot June day. They had food & drinks on all three levels. We had a blast. I highly recommend this Riverboat Ride to anyone visiting the unique & great city of New Orleans.

The cruise was nice. However, I was really disappointed that the narrated part of the tour began just as we were being seated inside the dining room. With all the noise, we could only hear about half of the narration, and we could see almost nothing being described as we were not seated near a window. My husband is a history buff and was far more interested in the narrated tour part of the cruise than the band, but he missed most of it. So that was a major bummer. Also, the wait staff seemed to be overwhelmed and it took over half an hour to get our dinner, even though it was a set menu with few options so most people had the same plated meal. The food was really good, though!

The cruise itself and the live jazz were great. The narration for the sight seeing portion was very frustrating because the microphone kept cutting in and out so we would only hear half of each sentence. We were really interested in learning and were disappointed that none of it could really be understood. The constant cutting in and out ended up being like nails on a chalkboard. Once the ship turned back and the narrative stopped, the cruise was much more enjoyable. As much money as they must make per cruise, you’d expect the technology to be a bit better.

We had a great time on the City of New Orleans yesterday despite the cold and windy weather. The Steamboat Stompers kept us entertained, the narration as we toured the Mississippi was informative and our server, Melanie, took great care of us and saw to our every need!

I originally booked for the natchez steamboat but i was told that it was " broke down" My wife and i had toured the new orleans riverfront area and went for a lunch cruise . The first person we came contact was a sweet blonde woman maybe a lead manager or ambassador of some sort but she was very informative and very hospitable . Lunch was ok but my wife's red beans and rice taste's way better . Yes i agree bring some sunscreen. The bartender was friendly and made awesome drinks. Some of the passengers were very loud , rude ,and geto . Lines were long getting on and off the boat. The restrooms reeked 😷🤢 But i would recommend to others and maybe my wife and i will go on a non busy day and maybe the jazz cruise on the creole queen or natchez next time . I advise you to hold out on the restroom until you leave the boat .
