This place is exquisite. It it housed in the beautiful Omni Hotel. I made a reservation through Open Table a few hours before. I started with a hurricane which was super strong. I had the house salad, which was delicious. And, man oh man, the prime rib was probably the best I have ever had. Well worth the price, and for me, it was expensive.

Rib Room is a great option for a romantic dinner! Be sure to make a reservation as not doing so could mean you don't get in, even during the week. Their grilled asparagus is quite nice. The ribeye & filet were cooked to perfection & like butter! The after dinner coffee was so good. The banana pudding creme brule was good. When you go see if you can find Mr. Frank Xteel & ask him to do a poem if the manager doesn't mind. He made our experience that much better with the romantic poem he did for us! He's an employee worth keeping because he makes the ambiance & experience such a pleasant one!

Pleasantly surprised. Prime rib and mashed potatoes were great. I was seated quickly for dinner despite not having a reservation. Hostess and waitress were very pleasant. Worth coming back.

I went to Rib House with a group of my coworkers. We had to hustle to get there by 6 in order to be served due to a combination of limited seating and dystopian covid rules. After donning our masks displaying our Vax cards (Ala 1930's Germany) we entered the Rib House. This place is set up nicely and the staff is professional and knowledgeable. To my surprise there were no ribs on the menu at Rib House. So once I got over the sticker shock of a 55 dollar steak I ordered the ribeye. My companions ordered the porter house. My steak was delicious although I have had better (Flame Steakhouse, Springfield MO). All in all the experience was great despite the covid nonsense.

Had a nice breakfast here. Good service in a beautiful dining room. We had the Sausage Egg & Cheese Croissant and the Rib Room Omelette (prime rib debris / fresh yard eggs / horseradish aioli / buttered parsley potatoes).

Very good. Got lost on the way to the bathroom and had the chance to walk around and see the many levels, hidden rooms and beautiful architecture of the building. Went with a group of coworkers and was surprised to see there was no ribs on the menu. The steak and banana pudding were delicious.

What a GREAT dinner!! It was my friends Birthday and we decided on the Rib Room. I am a local and we have eaten there before, the birthday girl was from out of town. When we got there we got a table in the window (I have never sat in the window before, but all tables are good it is such a beautiful room). The waiter of Richenel, was friendly, helpful, informative and fantastic! He knew the food well, and helped us to make decisions. After dinner he took us to the wine rooms, so we could see the special things that only the old French Quarter hotels have to offer. Again, I am a local, and in New Orleans we have many outstanding restaurants, but the rib room was the best! All the people working there did their best to make everyone happy and enjoy the special night...

Lovely dinner on Halloween night. Great crowd that night. I usually get the spectacular slow roasted bone-in shirt rib which may no longer be on the menu. Our server mentioned that they took it off during covid and haven't brought it back. Instead I ordered the filet mignon with bearnaise sauce. It was delicious, and I highly recommend it. But when the short rib comes back, it will always be my go-to. There are many nice steak houses where I can order a perfect filet mignon with bearnaise sauce, but the Rib Room shirt rib is beyond compare. Here it is from 2017!

Very great atmosphere. The wait staff is super friendly and attentive. The food was pretty good. Price point was on par with the type of dining experience they offer. I had the Pork Chops and French Onion Soup.

The steaks here are absolutely amazing. They are expensive, but this is more of an upscale dining place and not a cheap steakhouse like some chains out there. The service was amazing, and they have a great wine selection here too.

We ate at Rib Room while we stayed at the Omni. We made reservations and were seated properly. Renee was our waitress, Was not very impressed with her. She never checked on us after the appetizer. We had to go to the bar several times to get our own drinks. It was 57 minutes from the time of our appetizer to the time our food was on the table. Some people who were seated after us around us got their food before we got ours. I had to ask other servers to take our empty appetizer plates away and we took our own drink glasses to the bar. She defiantly did not make our experience satisfying. She was pretty horrible, messed up our tickets as well at the end. But now on to the good stuff the food. The bread was toasted and was fresh. Love the bread. Only con besides the waitress is that they don’t have a crumb sweeper and the bread wasn’t cut all the way through, thus leaving the table full of crumbs. Appetizers were turtle soup and gumbo. The turtle soup was actually amazing. It’s like a mix of gumbo and chili with extra pizzazz! The gumbo was classic New Orleans gumbo. Drinks were made to order and were good! For dinner we got : grilled prime rib with grilled asparagus and a side of fries. Grilled prime rib and loaded mashed potatoes. Swordfish with green onions and roasted tomatoes and rice pilaf. The steaks were cooked to our liking and were very delicious. All the steaks down in New Orleans so far have been very well seasoned and flavored. The fries were very seasoned and the side of sweet and savory BBQ sauce was delicious. The asparagus was grilled perfectly. The loaded mashed potatoes were incredible. The house fish special was sword fish and it was just adequate, defiantly could have been marinated less. I expected more from this restaurant it started off at 4 stars but at the end of the day the waitress makes or breaks the whole experience and she moved it down to three.

A little birdie told us to come get a cocktail from Allie! She apparently makes a really yummy Bananas Foster Martini, and that was not a lie! It was so yummy, and a really great dessert cocktail. She mentioned how it’s not on the menu… yet… which I don’t see why it’s not! It was so good, and til this day I am thinking about that martini. My husband got his usual, and as he was describing the order she immediately knew it was a Vesper, she was able to make it even though she didn’t have all of the right ingredients. We didn’t try the food here, but definitely stop by for a drink at the bar! You will not be disappointed!

The place is well kept, clean, and all bartenders were very attentive. Allie, who took our orders for our drinks whilst at the bar, was very informative and knew all of the drinks, on and off the menu. I even began describing a drink and she knew what it was before I even finished! Highly recommended for drinks and food!

My goodness! FIRST- The service is wonderful. The hostess (her name escapes me, but nonetheless she is the kindest, sweetest girl in NOLA), Renee, our server was top notch! Polite, knowledgeable, just everything you'd want in a server. Last butnot least - FRANK! He assisted us with drinks and horseradish, but he made us extremely comfortable and he is a barrell of laughs. SECOND - The Prime Rib. Jesus. It was like slicing butter. So tender, and juicy. The asparagus and mashed potatoes were perfect accents to this A++ prime rib. The Rib Room is where you need to go for a perfect dinner. 🥰

The Rib Room is Very nice restaurant, we had breakfast with the bottomless bloody marys. I had the Fries green tomato Benedict and my friend had the Prim Rib omelet. The crayfish hollandaise was excellent on the Benedict and the eggs were poached perfectly. The body Mary had just the right amount of horseradish to be spice but not over powering.

Arrived solo with no reservation. Was greeted cordially and seated in a corner two top in a primarily empty dining room. Bread person offered me bread in a bag, but there was no knife at the table to cut it with nor a bread plate to put it on. Ripped apeice off and it was nothing special, so that was that. Waiter was gracious and they had my brand of scotch. Ordered onion soup appetizer. Arrived with no spoon to eat it. When spoon finally arrive, cheesy top was good but broth was very salty. Had lamb chops for entree. Lamb must have been sickly as they were small and very fatty and really had no special flavor. Probably only 6-8 oz. of meat at most. Rest was fat and bone. But that was ok as again, no appropriate utencil (i.e. a steak knife) arrived to eat it with anyway. Sweet tater puree was meh, and there were only about 2-3 tablespoons of it. There was also this nondistinct apple stuff that added nothing. A beautiful venue with good service, but too many details went arwy to say it was a really " high dining experience". .

Anniversary dinner (but only had happy birthday toppers) ... easily one of the best restaurant meals I’ve eaten in my entire life. The staff was attentive, on point with refills, and suggestions, and the sides/portions were great. Would recommend for a night on the town with that special someone... or if you just like really great food.

Alan Touissant said this was one of his favorites. I purchased the ribeye , the turtle soup, and the shrimp remoulade pictured. The ribeye was mediuk with plenty of red in the middle. The turtle soup was spicy. I couldnt taste any turtle in it. Its was almost a gumbo in consistency then a straight soup. The shrimp had an arugala salad in the middle. It was very good and the atmosphere was definitly upscale. I do recommend

Good food. Good service. But.... for the price, my filet had to be sent back. The table next to me sent a prime rib back. I think the cooks need more training. I ate alone at my table by time my steak came out. Table next to me seemed to have similar timing experience after re-cook. And, there was a hair on another person's food at my table. Still no compensation or discount for any issue. Food was good, but these issues could use improving.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Rib Room. The staff was very friendly, prompt, and really the best part of our experience. Seated at a window table made it even nicer. The appetizer we ordered, the smoked salmon, was very nice and enjoyable. Light and tasteful without being overbearing or too filling. However, both our main entrees were disappointing. My wife ordered the short rib pasta and I had the duck. Her dish was rather bland but also salty. My duck very overcooked and also very salty. While leaving, I spoke to another patron who also said his food was salty. Maybe that is the style of the cuisine, but seems excessive. Didn't get the saltiness out of my mouth until I got home ans brushed my teeth. Overall it's a very nice establishment with a great staff, but the main courses were just too salty which overpowered any other flavors.

Wasn't overly impressed. I would get the prime rib if I went back. Between 3-4 stars. Service was good but a tad slow. Lamb chops were good but a bit rare for medium rare.

A fancy treat! We ordered Bar Snacks from the Rib Room at the Omni Royal in #NOLA. Thick-cut Praline Bacon was served in the tiniest, most adorable fryer basket I have ever seen in my life! It was too cute!! And SO flavorful! I also tried their spicy-but-mellow turtle soup and house salad with serious bleu cheese dressing. I mean, chunky!! The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home!

Phenomenal corn grits, out of this world pan seared filet and the most wonderfully tasting potatoes Ive ever had in my life. If I lived here in new Orleans I'd be here all the time. Staff was very accommodating to our original group we scheduled a reservation for 5 to 9 promptly and were wonderful in helping us chose a wine with dinner. Highly recommended

We visited New Orleans this year for the 4th of July. We had the pleasure of stopping by the Rib Room and we will absolutely be back next time we come. The food was absolutely fantastic. The food blew us away. The service was even better. Our waiter was Rich and he treated us like VIP. He really made the whole experience and I highly recommend him! Our Rib Eye was the best we've ever had! And I've eaten at Gordon Ramsay's. Doesn't compare to what you get at the rib room. The duck was also delicious! And the dessert, the pecan pie holy cow. It was so good. Will be back next year! I took a pic of my duck. Yum!

Folks, must stop and eat. Staff, chef, and cooks were absolutely hospitable. Chef Calvin is one of New Orleans finest. Make sure you ask for him when you visit and let him know directly how the food I and the service. Apps and desserts were on fire. The Steak Master, mannnnneeeeeee, if I could make up another language I would, perfecto and juicy! No need for sauce for these steaks. Experience of service and food was certainly done with love for all, like family.

This gem is located inside the Omni Royal. The host was a true Southern Gentleman who patiently took my order and made sure I had all of the cutlery and plates to truly enjoy my meal on the hotel balcony. The bartender was a sweetheart. I came across their booth during the french quarter festival and tried their prime rib debris poboy. It is easily the most superb poboy you'll come across. After the first experience I was determined to find their restuarant the next time I was in town. As luck would have it, the hotel I stayed at (the omni) is actually connected to the rib room itself. I highly recommend the hotel and restaurant.

They managed to seat us promptly at lunch even though we had no reservations. The staff were all talented, helpful and friendly. The did came out hot, and the bread is delicious. And, most importantly, the Turtle Soup is a good as ever!

I went to the rib room for breakfast. It is a hotel restaurant. Even for breakfast it had white table cloths and a good wait staff. I had eggs Benedict with the traditional Canadian Bacon. It was great just what was expected. It came with fried potatoes which were not so good. I also had a fruit plate. It was a combination of melons and berries very nice. Over all I was pleased. Not cheap but I feel I got my money's worth.

Started out terrible had reservations at 830 p.m. sat down got water and bread after ordering drinks.........drinks never came we had to order drinks at the bar and refill water ourselves everything was Terrible until we talked with the manager. So maybe understaffed definitely never should have took so long but ended up being one of the best prime ribs I've had. Beautiful restaurant great atmosphere maybe we should have went earlier for better service.

Hhmm, had a mix crowd, some well dressed, some more casual, even some shorts! Prices are up there, not cheap and would love to see a more extended menu, service was slow but very attentive, manager was very hands on to help everyone he could! Watch for the bartenders, try to get on their good side! I would definitely come back here

Heather and Mike were great!! But especially Heather! We walked in there wanting a very specific drink and even though it wasn’t on the menu she improvised something for us that was delicious! And her and Mike gave us a bunch of good suggestions for where to go next and venues to check out during our visit. Best underrated bar in NO!! Good people, thank you Heather!!!

We went June 21st and it was excellent! Kendrick was our server and Meleicia was the manager and we had a great experience, I had the swordfish and my wife had the perfectly cooked grilled prime rib, we sampled the deserts and the shortcake was my favorite and my wife loved the chocolate mousse. Had a great personality, just overall astonishing place to eat when visiting New Orleans. If I could get more stars I would. I attended a mother's day event in one of the rooms upstairs. The staff was awesome. The room was very nice. The food was incredible. I had the stuffed red snapper and my family member had the prime rib. It's a nice upscale restaurant located inside of the omni hotel. I would definitely recommend it.

Did the reveillon menu. Some of the dishes were absolutely fantastic, including short rib, the lamb belly, foie Gras with beans (that last one was truly special), but I can't give it 5 stars. The desert was just bland (we shared two), like as if I had covid and lost all taste. Something must have gone wrong I think, but still. Also, place was a little overrun with guys in t-shirts when we were there and we were hoping for a bit of a nice dinner.

For the price point, I was not that impressed! Kendrix, our server, was the best part of the meal! Excellent service. I went with friends who went years back and they told me about the amazing cocktails. When we arrived we found out the restaurant was under new management so there was no cocktail list. The pork belly app was just ok, and the entree of beef tips was also just ok! The Brussels spout side was weird, and I love Brussels. My chips were on the burnt side. The desert, strawberry shortcake, was also decent, but not amazing! If I'm going to drop $150 on a fancy meal I'd rather get a $45 steak at Doris Metropolitan.

When you go to New Orleans you need to stop at the rib room at the Omni. Not only do they have Joseph Phelps Cabernet at a fantastic price, but the service is always perfect and the food is delicious. This trip I did breakfast there for the first time. The bacon was only ok, not what I’d expect from a steak house but the ribeye omelette (they use the leftovers) is insanely good. Absolutely worth it and bottomless mimosas for $14.

Christian took amazing care of my family on Friday 8.13.2021 and Chef Mike has got to be one of the best beef handlers in all of New Orleans. My brother and his wife were above and beyond pleased with the prime rib. So much so, they demanded a follow-up performance the following evening where Renee took amazing care of us again. This place is phenomenal and a must visit for hosting out of town guests.

A very wonderful dining experience was had here. The Rib Room is named after their wonderful prime rib. It was perfectly cooked as requested and tasted great! They have a seasoning that really suited me. My wife ate the Cuban sandwich and it was also very well prepared. Drinks from the bar were well prepared and perfectly mixed. The desert was a Key Lime pie that have to say was average. Publix would have done the same job. It was obvious that it was a busier night than they had planned for and at first we were refused service because they were filled to COVID capacity. However they found room in the bar and we just had to be understanding that everything was just going to take a bit longer. I have been to French Quarter many times and normally would not recommend a hotel restaurant but if you are at or near the Omni Hotel I would really recommend trying here, especially if Mr. B's Bistro is closed like in a Monday night!

We had scallops as a starter and i would order that again. Both of us had 8oz filet and ate every bite. The temp on my steak was over, but they immediately remedied the situation. My new one was a prefect medium rare. Brussels sprouts with bacon is a must, and you can never go wrong with a loaded baked potato. A nice touch was having the man in charge stopped by just to make sure everything was great. I will definitely return. Be prepared to spend some money, but totally worth it

Christmas day & no reservations, so we weren't able to sit in the diningroom but we snagged 2 seats at the bar & were able to order from the full menu. Weren't sure that the bartenders appreciated us eating a meal at their bar but we enjoyed our meal. The other reviews on this establishment dont fo ir justice. I came into the restaurant in casual clothes for the dinner period and was under the impression that I might be turned away but I was pleasantly surprised and was seated. I have eaten at many steakhouses across the country, this restaurant has ranked better than most in treating customers not as high dressed. I had the special for the day prime rib with shrimp penne pasta cooked medium rare and it was done exactly like a medium rare steak should be. The main flavor came from the sauce it was cooked in but was tender throughout the steak. The steak was equally cooked so every bite was as good as the first. I parred my meal with a white wine which complemented the steak well. My service staff there was great and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't reach the bottom of my glass either water or wine without on of the excellent staff filling it for me. The manager stopped by my table to ask if everything was great which it was so we talked about some good steakhouses in Chicago and DC because I travel often it was a nice brief pleasant conversation. I followed my meal with apple cheesecake and a shot of port. It was not a fast meal but it shouldn't be fast. Also the proportions were as such that ordering an appetizer or dessert isn't out of the question and I am relieved as the dessert was great and I dont feel overly stuffed.

When I first moved to New Orleans many years ago, this was my go to place for prime rib. Over the years and many changes of chefs, it lost its appeal. I was dying for a piece of prime rib, which is almost non-existent in this city. I decided to give it a try again. It was excellent. The rotisserie chef, who was referred to as "Big Mike" took the time to ensure that the piece was perfect. The GM and the wait staff were all delightful and attentive. I will definitely be going back tne next time I need my prime rib fix!

As mentioned in other reviews, don't be in any rush. Total in-out time: 1hr 51min Server in the bar was anxious for shift change and had attitude when we mentioned we would have a full course meal at the high top.. after feeling her energy- we put our name on the wait list to be served by a dining room server. My appetizer did not come out with my significant other's, once brought to the servers attention- we could tell he forgot to put it in. I ordered a beer at this time as well since he would be going back to the POS. 8-10 minutes later my app is out and my beer is not. Remind server about beer, comes out with no head (on a rather hoppy amber I normally drink- this isn't normal unless it sat at the bar - forgotten.) Entre finally arrived, I can tell the larger 13oz steak I ordered is on my SO's plate with her sides and her 10oz steak is on my plate with my sides- I mention to the server, I think our prime ribs are switched, she got a 10oz, I got a 13oz. He said it's the way it should be. I cut into my prime rib, it's medium well ( what my gf ordered). She cuts into hers, medium rare (what I ordered). I call the waiter over to replate our meals with the proper sides. Food comes back replated- now both baked potatoes are cold. Finish our mediocre $120 dinner, and the server asks if we are ready for the check.... my gfs meal came with a dessert so we remind the server about her dessert, he says of course- it's on the way... needless to say- for a rather slow night, it seems they could not do anything right. The prime rib was delicious.

The coffee was very good. Well, after a very long waiting time of about 45 min our meals arrived. At least the sandwich was very good. Expect prices about $20 for breakfast with coffee. I got serenaded by a live band, and they did this from table to table. Superb service. Omg this place is heaven. Me and my wife had dinner on 2/11/23 for her birthday and let me say this the moment you walk in the door you are taken care of. The waiter was perfect never had service like that in my life. Then the cook even came to tell her happy birthday which I never seen in my life. He was also great, I never been so depressed to leave a restaurant in my life. Thank everybody that night that took care of us, definitely coming back. This was 10 ⭐️ easy

We had a party of four. They tried hard to meet expectations, but...they mixed up my ordered entrée, replacing rib eye with lamb chop, then bringing me a medium well vs. the ordered medium rare. Ordered wine was not delivered until remindered. The delivery of food to nearby tables seemed to be prepare food and then go ask who ordered what. All around impression was that they were trying hard to be what they want to represent but not making it.
