Reviews of Red Fish Grill
Daniel Frommelt
Even if you don't like fish, this is the place to go! The namesake redfish grill dish is perhaps the best fish I've had ever. The atmosphere is fun, and our waiter Jeff was amazing. It is very helpful and friendly and loads of fun with lots of laughter.
I absolutely have to recommend the barbecue oyster appetizer! It was such a unique and flavorful dish, and definitely something worth trying.
The red fish and grill dish is perhaps the best fish, and is more like a steak! I would highly recommend this as a go-to anytime
Their homemade soft serve ice cream with pralines sundae is also very decadent and luscious! Again something very worthwhile even by itself.

Everything we ordered was great. I had the red fish/blue crab and a bowl of gumbo. My wife had the BBQ chicken. We shared the bread pudding. Ike was our server and did a fantastic job. The service was spot on. It was so good we plan on going back before we head back home. Highly recommend.
Ingrid
Amazing brunch! Had the Bourbon Street breakfast and it was phenomenal. The lemon ricotta pancakes are light and delicious. The bottomless drinks are totally worth it. Cute ambiance and live music on Sunday. I would recommend making a reservation.

Loved it! If the name of the restaurant doesn't give it away, get the red fish! It's so nice and flaky. Tastes amazing. We got their signature red fish with crab and fish of the day. Both were red fish. The signature is an absolute must! BBQ oysters were also very good. The bread pudding tastes average.

This restaurant is an easy walk if you’re staying in the French Quarters. Caution: Make a reservation or you may not get seated or you can pick from the bar area seating. We met a great server at the bar who helped us with selecting our meals. You know when you’re hungry but don’t want a full meal… appetizers are the best go to item. The Caesar salad was very tasteful and filling. The crab cake could have been a meal of its own too. Red fish grill knows how to make a great crab cake.

Wonderful bread pudding and praline sundae desserts. Gumbo tasted a little burnt to me. The shrimp appetizer for $19 was not worth it in my opinion. Loved the decorations and theme throughout. Large bar seating area that is first come first serve.

Bourbon street is kinda not what I expected tho but yeah inside of restaurant are little bit nice but … I don’t know …
Peach Sangria, 100% recommended. What a lovely taste! Also recommend the fired oysters too. You know what, they ARE different than other restaurants. Their are more crispy and also little bit of spicy, which is delicious!!!
Fish are absolutely amazing. Oh god I’m dying.

Eat here!!!
Wow, the food was delicious! It came out quick and was worth the price. We went for dinner after seeing the menu posted outside. The staff was friendly and attentive. The host told us a table would be a 45 minute wait but there was immediate bar seating, and I think we plan to sit at the bar anytime we go! The atmosphere and ambiance was perfect- a very nice New Orleans vibe, not too casual but not really fancy.
We ate the shrimp bienville for a starter, our main course we ordered shrimp and grits, and the gulf fish of the day which was amberjack, then the chocolate bread pudding for desert.
Absolutely no complaints! Had a great Birthday Dinner.

Some mixed fillings about this place.
The food was good overall but the dishes were a bit surprising: the ones long expected were either to small or somehow less tasty and the ones we just wanted to try for the sake of trying were very good.
The draft beer was just one of the best I've ever had and the fish bites just the same.
A bit to expensive for what they are serving: food is not really special but served in a more or less fancy way.

If you are in New orleans eat here. The food is amazing. The service is top notch! Ike was so helpful and we never had to ask for a thing. The soft serve machine went out and he went to get us ice cream for our bread pudding from another place. We can't wait to come back!

My second time at The Red Fish Grill and it was as good as the first time I experienced the cuisine in 2009. We had a table of seven. Our server was kind and attentive. We had seven different entrées with healthy portions. The delight of the night had to be the redfish and the alligator sausage gumbo. It was very tasty!

If your looking for extraordinary New Orleans seafood, great music and ambiance then you need to book a table at The Red Fish Grill, we booked during our lunch break at a convention and the restaurant went from being quite to fully booked at noon, the staff were amazing they handled the surge really well and we did not feel that we were left waiting. The food was so delicious and bottomless brunch cocktails on Sunday. Lastly this is located on Bourbon St near Canal St.

This was another great restaurant in New Orleans with great food. The gumbo with alligator sausages was amazing. Never thought I would eat alligator and will do it again. The service was out of this world, our waiter was absolutely amazing. He was truly one of the best, made us feel right at home. The prices were not bad either, would go back to this restaurant for sure.

The food here was definitely memorable the staff here was very attentive. The Gumbo was perfectly seasoned and very hearty, each spoonful had either sausage or shrimp in it. The Raw Oysters were fresh and delicious. I had an Old Fashioned here and to my delight they use Luxardo Cherries instead of regular Maraschino Cherries which makes all the difference in the world for an Old Fashioned. The BBQ shrimp with Bleu Cheese was amazing too.

Great staff, really good food. Went early on a Friday night and didn't have to wait long to get seated. High recommend the bread pudding dessert, order with extra Ice cream on the side. It is best with ice cream!
Kathryn Dubiel
Melanie was our waiter/bartender. I had the chopped salad and a crab cake with a glass of wine and my husband ordered a half dozen oysters on the half shell with the alligator gumbo. We got bread with our meal initially and we asked for another serving of bread. We never received butter salt and pepper or any other regular things that come with a meal. We didn't see until the bill came out that they charged us $2 each time for bread which is ridiculous when you're ordering a full meal. You can look at our tab, it's a little blurry but you can read it and the final price we paid for the meal was $90.57. granted the glass of wine was $18. I think this is my last visit at the redfish grill. Seemed a little underhanded to me. It was sad because we love New Orleans and we love their food. No need to take advantage of the patrons of your restaurant.
Val Jacosalem
Service was prompt and exceptionally great! Jason our waiter was so attentive and explained the menu very well. We ordered grilled oysters with cheese. The cheese and sauce on the oyster is overwhelming and I can't taste the freshness of the oyster. Other than that everything was perfect. The cocktails were awesomely good! The entrees are cooked perfectly!
Paul Siano
Spectacular ! We had oysters , tuna , steak and blueberry shortcake ! Very enjoyable and everything cooked perfectly .. tuna maybe could had been a touch more rare would be my only feedback .. also let people know right when ordering if they wanted certain deserts you should order when u ordered entrees…
The host even came and grabbed us from the bar early as they had a few no shows ! So from start to finish it was great !

Good food and great atmosphere. On bourbon street new orleans. Oysters are fabulous, Crab legs good, red fish bites with dipping sauce. Best was the pecan pie!!

If you've always wanted to try a Brennan's restaurant but couldn't afford to drop a large amount on one meal, this is the place to go.
You get all of Brennan's signature taste at an affordable price.
The fried oysters are the best in the city, the alligator bites are perfectly spicy, and I haven't had a fish dish that I didn't like.
The bartenders are friendly and always up for a little conversation with your drinks and the waitstaff is nice and energetic.

I ate at Red Fish Grill while on a work trip to New Orleans in September 2022. I chose this restaurant based on a recommendation from our hotel staff.
I had the Red Fish Lemonade to drink - a great refreshing alcoholic drink with a good lemon flavor.
I ordered the Blackened Tuna (again, by recommendation by hotel staff). I love love love tuna but this was out of this world in flavor and texture.
The restaurant also had a great, cute atmosphere and friendly, quick staff.
M. Yasmin Carrillo
Love the ambiance and the staff was great! Our waiter had us cracking up with his humor :)
The food was delicious as well! Had the gumbo, chicken salad, and bread pudding.
Gumbo was a solid 10! The salad unfortunately was too salty for my liking but I figured maybe the salt was put on too generously by accident. The bread pudding was out of this world 😍😍
Definitely will come back and order different dishes:)
Alice Davison
Amazing food. We went for Sunday brunch. Had bbq oysters, shrimp and grits and eggs benedict type dish. Cocktails were lovely. Live music. Looking forward to going back. Waitress was absolutely amazing
Peeran B
This was our first visit to NOLA and landed up at the restaurant for a sumptuous dinner. Red Fish grill did not disappoint. The starters of Fish bites to the Entrees of Gumbo and Grilled fish and finally the decadent dessert 🍮. A must visit for all foodies. Highly recommend.
cody whittington
The wood fired red fish is the premier fish for a reason. Absolutely incredible.
Our whole experience here was great. Convenient reservation system through OpenTable. Good and reasonable wine list. Service was highly attentive. We will certainly be back to try the bread pudding.
Sydney Houlemard
the BBQ oysters are delicious!! hands down my favorite thing there. overall, good food and great service. however, i personally did not love the crawfish pasta jambalaya. i felt like the dish was “doing too much” with the duck, crawfish, and sausage all together. just felt like it was too many different textures for me in a pasta. but, another good plus is that the location is just convenient for me as a local. i think for tourists it is as well since it’s located in the french quarter.
R Jones
Although you will need to bring your jacket even in summer as the restaurant is a little cold, the food is worth the sacrifice. The redfish blackened or wood grilled was phenomenal! Gumbo was one point and the boudin was delicious! Frank our server offered great suggestions to the menu. Definitely worth a visit when in New Orleans.
Indy Eats & Adventures
I wanted to give this place 5 stars so badly but our server was the pits!!! For food and beverages 10 stars!!! Every single thing we had that night was scrape the plate good!
I had BBQ chicken with corn pudding, their signature drink which was mixed to perfection and the praline sundae was to die for! The BBQ chicken had just the right amount of sauce. Not too much to down out the flavor but enough to use on the rest of the chicken. The corn pudding was such a surprising side but at a New Orleans seafood restaurant but it worked perfectly and I loved the combination! The portion sizes were enough to be full but not too full for dessert. We saw someone else order it and knew we had to have it! Best decision ever!
Now for our service... The restaurant wasn't terribly busy. It seemed manageable. It took a minute for him to come to our table but other than that It started out promising. He took our drink orders and helped us choose but after we ordered it was downhill from there. Runners delivered the food so we didn't see him. We got our food and he didn't come back to check until we were almost done and as he was walking past he asked if we were doing ok. I asked for water. He brought that and left again. We finished our food, had time to watch the table next to us get their dessert, ask what it was and still waited for a while. He passed by again and we had both cleaned our plates. He stopped and asked if we needed anything, we said a dessert menu. He came dropped it off and left again without picking up our plates which he should have done the first time. He took so long to come back, we finally just got someone's attention who was probably a manager and told him we wanted dessert but our waiter hadn't been back. He told us he'd take care of it. Our waiter came by shortly after and we told him we already placed our order and very snootily he said, well I still have to put it in the computer. We could see the computer and the guy who took our order from where we were sitting. He went straight to the computer after he left our table so we could see he was putting something in. Our waiter never aplogized, never said anything to let us know what was going on and the only reason he came back was to ask if we needed the check and that took forever too. I'm sure by that point he was already upset.
I definitely would NOT pass on this place because of one bad waiter! If you're on the fence, GO! The food in itself is more than worth it!
I will definitely be back!

Great Sunday seafood oriented brunch offering with amazing bottomless brunch cocktails. We ordered the wood grilled redfish with crawfish tails and the lemon ricotta pancakes. Food and cocktails were really tasty. Service from our waiter Jimmy was impeccable! Highly recommended.

Restaurant & Bar in a well decorated building.
The selection of drinks is impressive and with high quality.
Like most of the restaurants in the French Quarter, the food at Red Fish Grill for tourists it is not creative with high prices. We ordered a fillet coated with coffee. it was OK, but the meat was not with a high quality.
The grilled red fish dish was small and salty.
At least the coctalals were fine.
Steven (SHines)
I think this place is worth hitting up at least once. It’s good, everyone talks about it. Yes it’s pricey, just make it your one meal you splurge on if visiting. We been twice so far on two separate trips and I’m sure we’ll go again.
Melanie Zech
We really enjoyed our evening dinner here. We tried quite a few of the menu items, they were all great! We especially loved the chocolate bread pudding.
Nick Wood
Amazing food.
Must try place on your Bourbon St visit. Seafood selection is good. Priced for what you get so don't shy away from a price. Shrimp and grits were great as well as the pastalaya.
Heather Singleton
BBQ Oysters 🦪 were the bomb!! Redfish was wonderful. My husband had the shrimp 🍤 and grits they looked like they were going to be plain but they were amazing. Definitely worth going to. The chocolate bread pudding was fabulous very big portion we split bw 4 and still didn’t eat it all. (You do have to make reservations) …
M St. Julien
Dinner is usually super crowded, because of location, so be ready to have a drink or two at the bar! I always enjoy my meals here. It's a casual and comforting place to enjoy a good meal. The sauce served with the crab claws will make you slap your Momma! Can be a bit noisy due to the size of the main dining room. Good stuff!

I've passed by this restaurant many a time. It is directly on Bourbon street but today I decided I would finally enter and try it. I was seated quickly, even with it being a walk-in on a Saturday evening. The waiter was friendly and I was very well taken care of. I felt like the atmosphere was incredible, something I did not expect.
Bread was given to us early on, and it was warm and tasty. The only request I would have would be to have been given more butter but I'm sure I could've asked for some if I had decided to. I ordered their RFG lemonade cocktail and it felt like it was watered down. Not sure what went wrong there but it tasted like a virgin lemonade.
I had an order of raw oysters with grilled swordfish with pink-eyed peas and butternut squash. The oysters were massive and definitely not from New Orleans. No offense, but local oysters from this part of Louisiana are not the best. These, however, were great. The swordfish was incredible. The squash and peas made for a good addition on the plate, and the sauce it was in was delicious too.
Everyone should dine here at least once. Be you tourist or local, I believe this place is delicious and you should absolutely go out of your way to try the food here.
Theresa Row
The restaurant atmosphere has been well planned. The seating is divided into a space for large groups, a central area with your typical 2, 4 and 6 top tables (some with a window onto Bourbon Street) and a bar area with high tops. Check out the bar stools, the chandeliers, the colorful dividing walls....so much to take in. And that's before the food is even ordered. The service and food are impeccable. A New Orleans tradition for almost 100 years.

Not many good places to eat on Bourbon Street. This IS one of them. Great service (Misty is da BOMB), great food, great drink and atmosphere. The BBQ oysters are freaking delicious, shrimp and goat cheese grits...slammin'! Bourbon Street Boxcar ( a drink) put my boy on his butt lol. If you are in the area and looking for a place that has it all...THIS IS IT!
Scott Berger
Three words..... "Alligator Boudin Balls" one of the best things I ate during my stay in The Big Easy. The gumbo for my entree and praline ice cream sundae for desert. All was great but those Boudin Balls with the Pepper Jelly.... so good you'll slap yo mama.
Jason Dale
Misty. We'll always remember Misty. Maybe the most attentive, friendly, personable server ever? The food was shockingly good, but the experience with Misty gets carried back to upstate NY with us.
Oh and while I've eaten some decent gumbo in my days, this was so rich, smoky, obviously started with a killer roux.
Addison Lively
Would rate 10 out of 5 if possible. Truly amazing experience. Thought we should make a dinner reservation a few weeks ahead of time since it was NYE, and so glad I did. The booking was simple, and the whole experience was stellar. Deedee was our rockstar server. I tried the French 75 cocktail which was delicious, and my partner and I loved our starter (stuffed shrimp) and entrees (mahi mahi and gumbo). Would go back for sure!
Janina Acosta
I am so glad we were referrer to Red Fish Grill. From the service to the tasty food and dessert, everything was a hit! Can't wait to go back!

We enjoyed our dinner. The Hawaiian sweet bread was amazing! The filet mignon was ok, but my husband enjoyed the red fish. We had a reservation and was seated promptly, but waited an hour for our food to arrive which is why I rated 3 stars.
Nila Dhinaker
Started our meal off with some freshly-baked bread and butter then got the BBQ shrimp as an appetizer. The shrimp had blue cheese dressing but it was so delicious and perfectly paired with the BBQ sauce I didn’t even realize (I usually hate blue cheese, but apparently not on this dish!). For my entrée I got their signature dish, the Wood Grilled Redfish with Louisiana Blue Crab. Highly recommend this hearty-sized portion of fish that comes with mushrooms, potatoes, peas, and of course that lovely Louisiana Blue Crab on top. I honestly don’t usually enjoy a lot of seafood but the Redfish was mild but flavorful and it was altogether a very well-constructed dish as far as flavors and textures go. Food was hot and looked/tasted delicious, and always disappeared within seconds or minutes of being placed in front of us. Our waitress was friendly and offered excellent service, would never have known she was training if she hadn’t told us. My party got a few drinks as well, our favorite was definitely the Frozen French 75 cocktail…it was so refreshing I nearly forgot there was alcohol in it! We also got the Cat 5 Hurricane drink that was perfectly balanced (and came with a maraschino cherry too!) and the Redfish Lemonade which was a super strong drink but still decent as far as alcoholic lemonades go (but if you get that one expect a pretty spicy drink, lol). We ended our meal with the Double Chocolate Bread Pudding which was one of the most phenomenal desserts I’ve ever had. Hot, steaming, chocolate bread pudding buried under fresh vanilla soft-serve…then you drizzle over both warmed white and dark chocolate sauce over the top right there at the table. I’m literally still thinking about it the next morning!

My first visit to New Orleans, stopped by for a quick sweet to end my first day of exploring. We were enthusiastically greeted by DeeDee, a charming character who shared that she would seat us in Frank’s section, her best waiter. Frank graciously welcomed us, and provided a few suggestions. Frank is the consummate waiter, he should be, as he has been there for 20 years we learned. We were tempted by the appetizer offerings, and chose to try the alligator boudin balls. So good! Crunchy on the outside, moist and delicious on the inside. They had a slightly sweet slightly hot sticky sauce and some house made pickles on the side. So full of gator! We also ended up getting a cold beer that complemented the bites well. The high point has to be the praline Sunday. Just do it! So good! I just can’t put it in words!
Second visit, while exploring a new town I rarely if ever come back to the same restaurant, but I just had to! I asked if I could be put in Franks section again, and that sweet soul not only remembered us, but immediately had the chef send out a complementary appetizer and a delicious shot!
I followed Franks recommendations completely! Oysters, the ones with blue cheese and hot sauce. Mind blowing! A cup of gumbo, yum! My other half ordered a shrimp appetizer swimming in lemon butter sauce and stuffed with mushroom. Again I’ll never forget those bites. I ordered the wood cooked trout as my main dish, it was simply perfect.
Red Fish is famous for their chocolate bread pudding, I wanted to but was just too full.
I’ll never forget the kind and caring Frank. I just can’t put into words how much a gracious person can impact a meal and even more an entire trip.
Thank you Frank, and Dee Dee for creating such a wonderful time.
Richard Stone
This is the place to go for a nice dinner. More upscale than most of the restaurants on Bourbon St. The food was amazing and the staff was attentive.
Chelsea Bussey
I love their crystal oysters. I've been going there since 2013 when they did their millionth oyster party. The problem is they recently hiked their prices up for oyster higher than I'm willing to pay. I'll miss this place.
Nicholas Fuga
We got in a bit later after about a half hour wait at no fault of the staff. Despite being some of the last customers of the evening we were still seated amd greeted in the same fashion as if they had just opened. We had so many different options to choose from and settled on some of the staff recommendations; which I can't recall right now so pictures will have to do. Regardless, staff was really friendly, service was quick, good tasted phenomenal, and the cost was worth it. Is it going to break the bank? No, not even if you order multiple entrees, deserts, appetizers, and drinks. To summarize: friendly, attentive staff that know the menu well, great tasting food to ease you into creole/Cajun, and so many different drinks to try.

the BBQ oysters are delicious!! Good food and great service. it’s located in the french quarter. I like the decorations of the restaurant.
Monte Bertrand
One of my new favorites in New Orleans. It's the best place to take visitors to the city since it has enough authentic dishes with modern flair.
Ask for Jimmy. He's a fantastic server. World class
Won Lee
Good New Orleans downtown experience, with fresh seafood. Variety of options. The waiter was very passionate about his job (he said he worked here 15 years, cheers Ike!!) and this certainly adds taste.
Eric
Great atmosphere, great service. Everything we got to eat was super delicious with a real comfort food aspect, enjoying nice southern food with jazz music in the back made this experience fantastic. Would definitely come back here again without question
Greg Dubiel
In town for a birthday. Consistency is what you can expect with Red Fish Grill. The gumbo perfect with a local brew.
Next up were the raw oysters, fresh and delicious.
They also served fresh bread that I just can't get enough of here.
Highly recommend.
Donald Matsuura
A must try when visiting. Was recommended by a foodie friend. Crab cake Benedict was delicious, potatoes that came with it ehh.
Pancakes were good but the flavor could be a bit much, I’d share it.

Red Fish is a great place to get blackened catfish and alligator boudin. It is right on Bourbon street. Our waiter Frank was hands down the best part of the experience. He was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and patient. The dinner was delicious and the Streetcar drink is worth a try.
ANGIE WILLIAMS
This is a place you do not want to miss for brunch! The atmosphere is perfect. The chefs are perfect. The presentation of food was perfect!
Jamie Kim
Sat at the bar looking for a decent oyster happy hour. Never found one, but happy to stop in here. Had the bbq oysters, which is basically fried oysters in buffalo sauce and blue cheese. It was good. The oysters by the dozen were fresh and we ordered more. The redfish lemonade drink was good, service was good, and the location is perfect
Katie Dube
Nice atmosphere, good service from our bartender Craig. The food was delicious, the crab cake could have used a little more sear on it. Dinner was under $100 including drinks. The bathrooms were clean, great for New Orleans! Nov 2021
Debbie Whitley
Had the best waiter. He helped me to decide on a great option. The food was beyond awesome. My husband ordered the gumbo, best one I’ve ever tasted. I had the crab cake and it was delicious. Husband got the red fish and it was delicious. Finally ordered the praline sundae, it was fabulous and the ice cream was so smooth and delicious. Definitely recommend!!!!
Ket Kwan
Excellent and tasty food. Chris, our server, took good care of us with a smile. The place was packed and we didn’t have reservations. We were turned away and proceeded to leave. Luckily, the gentleman host came outside and said there was a table in the bar available for our table of 5 ppl. We were so thankful. I had a hurricane cocktail, crispy brussel sprouts with jalapeño jam and entrée of shrimp and grits (creamy and delicious). My friends ordered the dungeness crab dinner. It came with soup or salad, mac and cheese and hush puppies. Two ppl shared one crab dinner $53.

If you’re looking for the best Po-Boy around, this is the place. I don’t like oysters, not at all, but I went out of my comfort zone to try the BBQ Oyster Po-Boy and glad I did. This is the best Po-Boy. Red Fish Grill has a reputation and they didn’t disappoint. Of all the restaurants in New Orleans, this is one of a few that I’m really glad I didn’t miss out on. Highly recommended.
Also, the service was pretty great as well!
Kerrie Sanders-Smith
Elijah, Steve, & Lyn were great!! The Wood Grilled Redfish with Louisiana Crawfish was #DIVINE and the Cat 5 Hurricane Cruzan was #OnPoint. The piano player was outstanding as well. Will definitely return. Thanks for a good time.
John Tseng
dinner at Red Fish, service was excellent, Jasmine had a great smile with outstanding customer service. The atmosphere was pretty neat dimmed lighting it gives a soft touch feel to the restaurant, unfortunately food was not up the par. The gumbo and fresh oysters were delicious but the kids meal Alfred pasta was not that good, the sauce was very watery and it was just bland overall
For a $150 dinner I guess my expectations were a bit more
eric helton
Most excellent! Easily my favorite restaurant in NOLA so far. All their craft cocktails are wonderful. Be sure to get the bbq shrimp and oysters. The crawfish benedict is divine.
And make sure you get Sonia!!! She is awesome! Took excellent care of us. Best server we've had, hands down.
Red Fish Grill is a staple every time we visit.
Giovanni Kelly
Definitely a hot spot for tourists, but hasn’t disappointed in my experience. Great raw oysters and the red fish special was excellent. Almost our whole table ordered it and loved it. Service was awesome as well!
Amanda Beam
We had a delicious dinner here. Get the King cocktail-so good!! Everyone really loved their meals and our service was top notch. Our server even brought us Valentine’s Day drinks as an extra. She was great! We even left room for dessert and opted for the King Cake bread pudding. Yummy!
Max Cai
Very nice setting, not busy in Sep. raw oysters is my favorite dish
Debra Durante
Seated promptly and greeted with a Happy birthday wish. Drinks were outstanding. Our server was on point with her suggestions and just the friendliest and was always right there. Food was delicious. Can't say enough about that swordfish dish it's melt in your mouth fabulous. Overall a wonderful birthday dinner and we will absolutely return.
Daniel Hathy
Superbly prepared! I've been coming to New Orleans for years and occasionally stop in here. Portions not overly generous, but at the end of the meal very satisfied. 10 on the taste scale though. From the appetizer to the dessert. Had the gumbo, pasta jambalaya and praline pecan sundae. You won't be disappointed.
Abby Jones
This was by far our favorite place in NOLA, the crab cakes and eggs were to die for and the blueberry and lavender pancakes were amazing. We went and it was so good we went the next day as well, both servers Ike and Gary were great as well as the managers who made sure the meal was going great too. You have to come here!
Renee Simpson
Good but not great. The service was great but the food felt a little assembly line. We had the snapper with crab and the jambalaya pasta. They were good but we weren't enticed to clean our plates.
Krissy Castillo
This was a great place. Our server Jordan was super knowledgeable and super attentive. Food was delish. I had the Shrimp and Grits.
Eddie G.
This was a spectacular place to come eat! Please make sure to make a reservation if not you will find yourself waiting a long time or being turned away since it is a popular place to dine. The selection of plates is marvelous and delicious and our experience was made even better by having what seemed to be the best waiter Ike tend to us. He is hands down the funniest and friendliest person there that help our dinning experience the best. Even my toddler was captivated by him. Make sure to try and save some room for dessert because you're going to want to try their chocolate bread pudding!
Enjoy!
Christian Herrmann
Ordered the alligator boudin balls and the crab croque madame. Boudin balls were good but the croque madame was just okay. Bottomless drinks was a plus.
Becky Gillam
The service was really good, wait staff friendly and attentive. The food was also good but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere was like a high class Red Lobster. For the prices, it could be nicer and have more culture for being in the French Quarter.

My husband and I ate at the Redfish Grill tonight for dinner. Our server was very friendly, and the service was great. Our meals were amazing … SUPER delicious! The soft serve ice cream in the homemade waffle dish melted in your mouth … very creamy! Don’t miss out on eating at this wonderful restaurant!!!

Delicious red fish special! We loved it.
The gumbo was good, but wouldn’t recommend as an entree because the fish was much better.
The chocolate bread pudding was great. Nice presentation, rich flavor, and tasty soft serve ice cream on top. So good.
Bread was okay - a bit dry.
Our server Ike was amazing! He is cheerful, friendly, and helpful. I also feel like I met a true New Oleanian in Ike!
Liz Mason
The waiter was slightly on the snooty side, but prompt enough. The different foods we ordered were tasty, but not ever the top memorable. My shrimp and grits was very tasty. The wood grilled fish was enjoyed by me hubby. Just an ok to very good experience. The good news is that even though full of patrons, we could carry on a conversation.

Nice ambience. Very small portions, expensive price. The bread was really fresh and tasty. Land and sea was extremely small and disappointing! The only my thing that was worth it was the Crab Leg Dinner. It came with two sides and a house salad, which was a great deal. Also a decent portion of crab!

Drinks are delicious. I could eat a dozen of fried oysters!

Best fried BBQ oysters!
After reading the reviews I wanted to try this place during my visit to New Orleans. I wasn’t disappointed!
I had half dozen BBQ oysters here, I was amazed at the combination of the sauces they used. This was the second time I was having oysters and I was concerned to try BBQ oysters. However, our waiter assured me that I would love them and I sure did!
They used BBQ sauce and blue cheese with fried oysters. The BBQ sauce, blue cheese complimented the mild fishy flavor of the fried oysters.
( I can’t tolerate fishy flavor. In this case, the fishy flavor was mild)
I also had their famous grilled Red fish for entree and liked it too. My friend had diet restrictions and our waiter friendly enough to put in a special request with the chef to prepare a grilled vegetables platter.
Chocolate lovers don’t miss their ‘Double Chocolate Bread Pudding’!! It’s chocolate heaven!!!!!Trust me, I am not exaggerating!
Marc Kennedy
A Beale St Dining experience. So good we went back in one visit.
Amber Smartt
Best restaurant my husband and I had the pleasure of dining at the entire time we stayed in NOLA! We sat at the bar and Gabby made out of this world old fashions. Our food was on par to say the least. We had the coffee infused filet minot. Even the coffee with dessert was great!! Great experience overall!!
Blake Zachary
Our experience here was incredible - from reception to host to server / bartender. You can tell that this restaurant and the company take so much pride in what they do and that they treat their employees well. Every struggling restaurant owner should visit here and take note. Our server/bartender Tylor took a lot of time explaining the menu in great detail to my wife with an allergy. He provided the best most genuine service we’ve had anywhere in decades. They take allergens very seriously. The food couldn’t have been better. Joe on the keyboard during Sunday brunch topped it off for a great way to kick off the day.
Taylor Schiffman
Meal was decent. Small portion sizes. You’re paying a premium when there a multitude of restaurants serving very similar menus for cheaper.

Great food and atmosphere.
Staffs are really friendly.
Paul Garcia
My family and I enjoyed a delicious dinner ar Red Fish Grill. We secured reservations early and we were seated soon after our arrival. The restaurant is cozy and well decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered the red snapper and my family ordered the soft shell crab, and the stiped bass. It was very delicious. The bread was also delicious. I highly recommend a visit.

Every year my husband and I travel to New Orleans for Thanksgiving and this is where we enjoy our Thanksgiving meal. The Thanksgiving meal is a served buffet and it's always delicious! We've also eaten here and ordered from the menu and their menu items are amazing as well. We have not been disappointed yet!
Olga Dąbrowska
Delicious fish, strong drinks and fantastic service! Recommend 100%
Rob is a great server!
Derrick Washington
Look at this photo...need I say more. The food here was sinfully good, the service was good and the atmosphere was such a chill vibe. Highly recommended 👌🏾
Tom
My buddies and I stopped by Red Fish Grill for brunch on Sunday and had a great time!
It wasn't awfully busy when we came and the atmosphere was very relaxed. Our server Melanie was very attentive and helped us successfully celebrate a special occasion.
We started off with the BBQ oysters and they were very tasty. Well fried with a great kick in the hot sauce. The chef gave us a tasting of what looks like a shrimp waffle bite and that was quite tasty as well.
I then had the shrimp and grits, which was very tasty. The sauce was creamy and full of flavor, while the shrimp was cooked to perfection.
At the end of the meal, they comped our dessert for our special occasional. It was unexpected but definitely shows the great service here.
I would highly recommend Red Fish Grill for any occasion for the food and staff!
Darvy Soignet
The food was delicious but was disappointed because of the portion. I had the Mahi-Mahi. My group had to go across the street to buy more food at Krystal.
Jeff Gabel
They took us in 20 minutes before closing, so we appreciated them seating us. We ordered quickly, including "pre-ordering" bread pudding for dessert. The appetizer and entrees came out within 15 min. Flavors were good, although portions were a bit small for the price, but it's Bourbon Street, so expected. We then had to wait 45 minutes for the bread pudding we had pre-ordered. 🤦🏻♂️It was rich and decadent when it got there, but I was ready to tell them to just cancel it. Turned a good experience into a blah one.
Mike Agee
Super popular Bourbon street restaurant. The food is on point. The only complaint is the wait to get a table. Reservations a must. I guess consistently good food does that. Loved my BBQ shrimp and grits, solid Bloody Mary. Worth the wait. I doubt you will be disappointed.

We had just stopped in New Orleans for lunch and were walking around with 3 kids (7-yo and under) looking for a place to eat. A stranger asked us if we needed help, I bet we looked like we did, after trying a few different restaurants and all had a long wait. He recommended Red Fish Grill and said that it was a Ralph Brennan restaurant (we didn’t know what that meant but the guy owns a few good restaurants in the French Quarters). So we decided to give it a try, since we were not far from there. This place didn’t disappoint, the food was delicious, the restaurant is spacious and the staff was polite and friendly. They even had a kids menu and coloring paper and crayons for the kids. We tried the Alligator Boudin Balls, Crispy Catfish bites, Gumbo, shrimp and grits, among a few other dishes. Everything was excellent! I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends who visit the city.
Max & Ariel
The Hurricane drink is so good you get the original one here.
This was a first stop on are 5 Star food tour with the awesome tour guide Dr. Gumbo.
This place is first class.
The Restaurant was closed open just for the food tour all are tables where beautiful and ready for us.
There where 16 guest I felt very special what a unforgettable place.
A unforgettable tour, it had suck great flavor.
With 151 on the top...it's a catargory 5 hurricane.
We learned all this history of the food, and drink from all 8 places we stop.
If you are ever in New Orleans don't miss this tour with Dr. Gumbo 👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Corley Bonk
The food was delicious. The service was great and fast. Try the chocolate bread pudding for dessert.
Jason Jenkins
Received a 50% military discount!!! Will be going back while enjoying Bourbon Street. Thank you!
Cassandra Ryder
One of the best meals I had in New Orleans! A bit pricey, so it was a bit of a splurge, but the BBQ fried oysters and shrimp and grits were delicious! Can't wait to go back!
C Smith
I love this place, the food is awesome the drinks are great. I can't wait to get back to New Orleans, definitely one of my favorite restaurants. The creamiest grits ever, first time having fried oysters 😍. Amazing!! …
Cailee A
Wonderful service, food and atmosphere. An absolute gem when in New Orleans. Will definitely be more bringing friends and family. Big shout out to our server Ike, he really made the experience special and memorable.
kenny Warner
This place was outstanding!! Great service and food was amazing!
Miatta Anderson
This was one of the BEST places I visited when I was in New Orleans. I went there twice and everytime it was just magnificent 👌
Riley Rose
The blackened red fish with crab serve on potatoes was perfect! It is their signature dish for a reason. We were a part of 8 and everyone thought their meal was better than they described. I bought recommend this place.
Kara Kneeppel
Hands down the best meal I've ever eaten in my life. The sweet potato/crab soup was the perfect consistency. The crabcake was fried beautifully, not full of stuffing. My husband's blackened red snapper was phenomenal. Our server was Ike. He was spunky & fun & knowledgeable & prompt. We will return EVERY time we come to town.
SARAH Krueger
Carlyn aka Carolyn 😊 was amazing I recommend asking for her. She was AMAZING and made our experience even better. She gave us all the good on food and local places that were a must. Recommend for sure.
Suresh Mungroo
Great cocktails and great food!
The Cajun spirit is strong in this one! We were a group of 5 people who were hungry after a seminar... this place definitely hit the spot!
Even the drinks were good too!
Friendly staff, good food and great prices make this place a definite “must visit” whenever you’re traveling to New Orleans!
Rob Manning
It was as advertised. Casual place that has some really good dishes. Nice selection of mid range wine plus a few holiday drinks. We enjoyed the experience.
Costa
I had a very nice diner here. Service was fine and the food was good. The atmosphere was above average in this neighborhood. I just loved the Brussels sprouts!
Chin Ng
A very nice restaurant. Great food and service. A little bit pricey and the dishes were small in portion. Perhaps this is what one should expect inside the French Quarter.
Polina Antipova
We were here for brunch on Friday, last our day in New Orleans, and let me put it that way - I wish we had found this restaurant at the beginning of our stay... Excellent food and service! Much recommended!🔝 🔝 🔝 …
MiSs Maah
Excellent food and great ambiance.. BUT! Above all…great management .. tonight i had a great dinner over there but as soon as i back to hotel (Ritz carlton) i realized that i left my cellphone over there! I called restaurant they told me we are about to close but we will wait for you…it took me 15 minutes to walk there and employee were veryyy nice.. specially Hallie … they were really lifesaver!! Thanks for all your hospitality.. you made a great end to my trip…
Brandon Cravens
Had a great experience here. Started out with the BBQ Oysters which were great, and the Blackened Tuna Bowl was amazing. The Tuna was seared perfectly and served over Tasso Fried Rice and topped with a Quail Egg. Finished up with their signature dessert, which was the Double Chocolate Bread Pudding. Service was great, can not wait to return!
Rolita Sanders
Beautiful restaurant, with great good and service.......I really enjoyed the gumbo and alligator balls
Jasmine McLaurin
Not impressed. The bottomless cocktails are decent. But for the money it’s small portions and slow service. Friendly enough but it took about 20 min before anyone even came over to bring me water. Never did get any house bread.
Daniel Campbell
Always great. BBQ oysters are dreamy.
Greg C
Our server was great but foiled by his colleagues who served us somebody’s dinner and our dessert did not come with the ice cream on the side. He apologized but it end up being fine. Plenty of good tasting food.
Kimberly Awesome
Highly recommend! Our server, Chris, was super-friendly, prompt and attentive. Loud but cozy atmosphere. We had crispy brussels, BBQ shrimp, raw oysters. The oysters were the perfect size & so tasty. BBQ shrimp was highly recommended by our server & with good reason.... they were delish! The brussel sprouts were perfectly roasted in an iron skillet and with a hint of a spicy-sweet jelly. Child needed a hot dog, which she said was perfect. The french fries were perfectly cut, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Will definitely plan to visit again! We visited on a Tuesday evening at about 7:30 & had no wait to be seated.
Justin Bruscino
I was there in 1998 1 time during Mardis Gras....and I still brag about the food there. It is the best Cajun I ever had and some of the BEST food I ever had in my life PERIOD! It was definitely spicy for this Yankee but so delicious. I have tried so many Cajun restaurants outside of New Orleans but they have all been a disappointment after eating at the Red Fish Cafe. Even the cocktail sauce set my nose on fire because I didn't know Cajun food and the table next to me had to give me their water....But I regret nothing from this experience.

Amazing!!!!!!!
Drinks- amazing!
Food- amazing
Fish bites were so good, fried perfectly and airy. We couldn't get enough.
The bread tasted so good!
We had the special that night, swordfish and grits with crawfish tails. I'm literally drooling reminiscing about it!
Dessert- you guessed it! AMAZING!!!!!
Chocolate Bread Pudding is a must!
El El
This is tough. The service was ok... they forgot my main dish order so it took quite a while to get that straightened out. Then it turned out to be simply ok. (Blackened tuna) But our server, Greg, was SUPER friendly. I hate to give that rating, it's just- he forgot my food 😕
The manager was able to fenagel a table for us sans reservation, & we ended up sitting next to 2 super friendly people from France. We enjoyed lovely convo and witnessed these two eat entire chocolate bread pudding desserts of their own. 😳 As a T1 diabetic? I was pretty jealous 😂 Without eating it myself? I can still highly recommend it.
Rodeshia Galbert
Absolutely amazing food, best fanciest named egg ham crab & cheese sandwich I've had to date. The oysters were great! & service from Isiah & team behind bar matched.
Terrence King
You can never go wrong with choosing to eat dinner at the Red Fish Grill. Ike is a first class waiter, who knows how to treat his diners. The restaurant is great for a meeting, a date and a solo night on the town. The food was on point as usual.
ali alibhai
Love the Red Fish (blackened) with the pontalba potatoes. The alligator gumbo is also excellent. I've been eating here since 2010 and no matter who the bartender has been, service has always been on point! I highly recommend Red Fish Grill!
Elenora Johnson
It was my first time in New Orleans, my girlfriends took me here for a birthday dinner last night and I must say the food was fantastic and the music was great other than the unpleasant entry from the host everything else made up for it. I will definitely be coming back one last time on Friday before going back to New York.
She Eats Art
I had a good time sitting here at the bar watching all the action from shucking the oysters! I can’t remember the exact name of the dish I ordered but it’s a white stuffed fish with crab, potatoes & peas. The bartenders where friendly and made sure I didn’t have to ask for anything. This restaurant is also in a location, right in the middle of all the Nola action! It was an easy walk from my hotel only a few blocks away.
Jake Hallauer
I have been to Redfish a number of times and it has always been a great experience! We were in this last weekend and it was the best experience yet. Ike was our server and he is probably the best server I’ve ever had anywhere. I highly recommend Redfish and Ike!
Lou Garcia
Great place! Be sure to ask for Greg! As a native Marylander, he talked me into trying the crabcake. Very different than a Maryland style crab cake, can't say it was better, but defnitely good.
Greg Johnson
I had an ok experience . I purchased the shrimp and oyster appetizer. Then I purchased the grilled swordfish that they blackened. It tasted well. i also purchased the alligator sausage to go. I liked the sign with the different restaurants on it. They play New Orleans style music. Overall good
Mrs. Banks
I highly recommend Red Fish to anyone visiting New Orleans. Excellent service (ask for Ike), ahhh-mazing food, and reasonable prices for the quality of the food and overall dining experience.
This restaurant has THE BEST Alligator Sausage & Seafood Gumbo in the entire French Quarter. The Shrimp Bienville features succulent shrimp in a very good sauce that is perfect for dipping your bread (trust me). The Louisiana Shrimp & Smoked Gouda Grits dish is rich, creamy, and flavorful. The Double Chocolate Bread Pudding is a decadent dream served fresh out of the oven and your server tops it off with with white chocolate and milk chocolate ganache.
Eleftherios Zisis
We had dinner in Red fish grill in our first night in New Orleans. Our goal was to try some of the local cuisine and this was the right place to go.
We got many starters, the blackened catfish and a jambalaya. All dishes were delicious but the catfish was mind-blowing! The was very friendly and helpful. The prices were a bit on the high side, but reflected the quality of the food. Great place.
Steve Stessman
Great food and service! The desert was well worth the calories!!
Troy Nelson
Excellent food! The signature red fish entree is highly recommended. Our server Frank is a delight. Go there!
Peggy Peterson
FABULOUS, FABULOUS FOOD!!!! I had crab cakes with a poached egg on top. With sweet potato cubes for a breakfast. Oh my goodness!! It was so delicious!! Everything about it was perfect I would give this a 10+
Yvonne Vaughn
Red fish dish was very good. The barbecue oysters topped with blue cheese were tasty. The restaurant is casual and very popular.
Daniela S-C
The grilled red fish was delicious! And the chocolate pudding was great too. Very good service from server Que at the bar.
Sean B
Fantastic seafood restaurant/beer in the center of Bourbon Street. A must go!
Reservations not required, but will be helpful to have as night wears on.
Five star service and a five star kitchen will not disappoint. Some of the best seafood I have ever had! BBQ oyster appetizer to start was amazing. Entrees are great representation of high end New Orleans cusine.
Make sure to leave room for their famous dark chocolate bread pudding with a cup of black coffee.
Dinner and drinks for four was about $250.00.
An excellent dining experience.
Darshan Patel
I reserved my dinner time and even explicitly wrote I’m there for a birthday and mentioned it when I got there. I was surprised that they did not offer any birthday festivity discounts. Food was good but not worth the price
Greg Williams
Another wonderful dinner at redfish restaurant. I ate the chili garlic shrimp with a side salad. The kale when drenched in sauce was very good. We didn’t have reservations and walked right in. Another great dinner.
Annia Hsu
Happy hour 75 cents giant oysters, and fried oysters, both amazing and worth a try, although I personally liked raw oysters better. Had maybe over 20 oysters by myself, it was that good. $5 cocktails during happy hour too, so come between 3-5pm, and you won't regret it! There was no queue at all, and the server was friendly.
Tavaria Adegbite
Amazing service & staff. Food & drinks were impeccable. Definitely a new favorite place. They're also one of the only spots on Bourbon I saw doing temp checks & socially distance guests/tables from one another.
Kathy Lechman
Great location. Food was not bad but not the best I've had in New Orleans. I echo the sentiment about the french bread being "tough as a tire". Drinks were very good. The Mango Daquiri was delicious.
Destiny Meyer
Had our Anniversay meal there and everything we had was delicious!we started eith sharing a crab cake that was very fresh, I had the gumbo soup and my husband the filet mignon and he stated it was the best steak he's had in a long time, and we eneded with sharing a slice of bourbon pecan pie which was heavenly. The service was top notch as well.
Dwayne Smith
Red fish grill when you're in New Orleans you've got to try it. The shrimp and grits grits is to die for. Prices are on point with the portions. And if you're lucky enough to get Ike as a server. There's no doubt he's the best one in the entire restaurant his knowledge of seafood and wind are unbelievable.
Sherry Varrone
So yummy, and accommodating. The whole fried Red Fish was waaaaay too much, for TWO of us, had about 1/4 of it still left! [After a couple dozen oysters] DEFINITELY have the bread pudding - it's like a chocolate souffle', but better 🤤 …
Lanell Williams
Food was decent, some of our plates of food was served cold. Fastest service I have ever recieved at a restaurant, probably because we came right before closing time. Warm Bread and chilled wine was tasty.
Sherbano Dossa
We went for dinner last night, the place was packed and was family friendly as well. We got seated very quickly and the wait staff was extremely polite and friendly. The food was great too! We ordered the Catfish beignets and Chopped Salad to start and for mains we had the Wood Grill Redfish and Grilled BBQ Chicken! The food tasted great and the prices were reasonable. Definitely worth a visit!
Derek Jones
Who knew a restaurant on Bourbon Street could have such amazing food. Our table shared gumbo, oysters, red fish, and shrimp &grits. Everything was great. He bread is good too, although I’m not sure why it’s presented in a bag?
Kathy Toms
Great wait staff and wonderful food. The gumbo had big shrimp and sausage in it. The redfish dinner was superb.
stefan todorovic
Dont miss this place if you are visiting New orleans! I was so overwhelmed by quality of food that i ordered 3 meals.
Elijah, who served me was more than happy to explain each and every one of meals i did or didnt order. P.s he makes mean oldfashioned! P.s. 2 portions are bigger than in my photos, i rememvered to take picture only after being half way done..
Greg Gowens
The resort that we were staying at told us about a special for this restaurant. Buy two entrees and get a bottle of house wine. We ordered the Alligator Sausage & Seafood Gumbo. It came out very quickly. It tasted a lot better than I expected. My wife ordered the Coffee-Rubbed Filet Mignon. I ordered the signature entree, Wood Grilled Redfish & Louisiana Lump Crabmeat. The house wine was a Chardonnay. The fish was cooked to perfection. The lump crabmeat was a great addition. The roasted potatoes were prepared in a fresh manner that made them complement the fish. The Filet Mignon was a healthy sized serving. The Bourbon Cream Sauce was delicious. It made a great pairing with the vegetables. We ordered the signature dessert, Double Chocolate Bread Pudding. It requires 20 minutes of prep time as it is made to order. When it came out, it was tremendous. Huge serving with vanilla bean ice cream and both dark chocolate and white chocolate sauce. My wife said before we leave, we have to come back for dessert at least one more time. I would highly recommend this location!
RE Hargrave
Thanksgiving buffet was off the charts and well worth the price. I had to get seconds of the butternut squash & lobster bisque while hubby went back for more oysters and spicy yellowfin tuna. Daughter wanted to get more of the brussel sprout gratin, but ran out of room to eat anymore, lol.
William Khalil
Visit on 5 January 2020. We had dinner. A busy place. The food selection was great. Our choice was steak and seafood with red and white wine. Great service from the staff.
S C
No trip to New Orleans is complete for us without a trip to the Red Fish Grill. It’s been a while since we’ve dined in the main dining room as we constantly want to try all of the fine dining experiences NOLA has to offer. But every visit, we are sure to at least visit the Oyster Bar for a quick bite. Fresh oysters are shucked as you wait in an inviting atmosphere in the heart of Bourbon Street. Great place for lunch. We’ve always had great, consistent food here and good service.
Jenn Hansen
My husband and I are here for dinner the first night we arrived in New Orleans. The food quality is very nice. We had the wood grilled redfish w/ crabmeat and lemon butter sauce. It was so fresh. The seasoning was superb. We also got the jalapeño cornbread, creole potato salad, and alligator boudin balls (my favorite thing we ate). Our server was amazing! The food came out quickly. I’d definitely go back.
Samuel Edmondson
I absolutely loved this place. I got the creole jambalaya risotto, and it was delicious. The alligator and seafood gumbo was also amazing. I got a strawberry daiquiri and then the alligator bite daiquiri. The alligator bite had pineapple and jalepeno and was very good. The waiter was also amazing and gave us a lot of recommendations for New Orleans even though it was a Friday night and packed.
Arrow
Even when there's no spots in the restaurant itself you can sit at the bar and still order the full menu. The food was very good in general though my fish was a little bit dryer than I would have liked it. Can recommend the rosemary worcestershire sauce - definately the highlight of the evening!
Abe Goodwin
This was an awesome dining experience. The shrimp tasted as though they spent their entire lives swimming in butter! I was a little skeptical about getting grilled but was glad I did. The vegetable medley was a perfect compliment. The service was pretty good as well. This place is on my permanent list when I get back to New Orleans.
jnub
Had a great meal with some gumbo and a crab cake. Service was quick and polite. Quite surprising considering the location (Bourbon Street, not great.) Highly recommend this place for some great seafood.
Jazz Nelson
My husband had shrimp and grits and he totally inhaled it. I had grilled fish with crab meat on top and vegetables. OMG it was so delicious. Our service and server was just a wonderful. We love NOLA.
Shayla Brown
Great time here! Based on reviews, we tried the peacemaker, but found the bleu cheese to be overpowering. Gumbo and etoufee were both delicious. Bread pudding fantastic!
Charlene P
Excellent food, fantastic place to spend time with friends and family , wonderful exceptional service and great location ! Really had an awesome experience visiting this restaurant in the French quarter in New Orleans !
Yi-Ling Chen
Very nice service. Catfish and Jambalaya were super delicious! Great atmosphere and clean. Highly recommend!!
Eric Purchase
I don't mean to bring anyone down but the spectacular reviews I've read about this place are just not deserved. It does a good job of being a tourist joint. The oysters were pretty good...verging even on very good. My red fish was good. The shrimp and grits were good. And the double chocolate bread pudding tried for greatness but settled for good. So, good but not great. If you don't have plans and don't have time to find better, this is a serviceable option.

Named one of the nation's "Best Seafood Restaurants" by Travel + Leisure and readers of USA Today (and 9x 'Best Oyster Po-boy' winner at the New Orleans Po Boy Festival), Red Fish Grill has dominated the French Quarter seafood scene for over 20 years.
Leo Romanick
Fantastic meal, Gary was excellent and took care of everything we needed. Bread pudding with Ice Cream and two chocolate sauces was the capper on the meal!
Elizabeth Martinez
Great BAR selection!
The bread pudding was GOOD! It was warm n soft n VERY chocolaty. Yum!
Great customer service!
Brennan Vice
Food was good. Not great compared to other restaurants in town, but not bad by any means.
Bryce Beck
Had a friend swear that this was the best restaurant in New Orleans and she was not wrong! We tried a bunch of different foods and they were all equally great. Tried raw oysters for the first time and really enjoyed them! The catfish was my favorite part.
Angie Maximilien
I ordered the bottomless brunch drinks and the lemon ricotta pancakes. The cook on the pancakes were good but I was disappointed in the lack of lemon taste. It honestly just tasted like regular pancakes.
Peyton Winterowd-Laughman
Chose this restaurant because it’s the quietest on Bourbon street, but surprisingly ended up being one of the best meals I’ve had in years. The filet mignon was out of this world with flavor and sauce and was cooked to perfection! The staff was super friendly and the lace had a great atmosphere inside.
Stephanie Neveu
Really enjoyed my meal here! Ordered the oysters and the blackened catfish. Oysters were phenomenal, and catfish was tasty. Sat at the bar, and the bartender was marvelous. At the beginning of bourbon street, so I am certain it gets rowdy. Get there early to enjoy a quiet meal
Bennett Joseph
Excellent food, drink, and service. BBQ Shrimp were outstanding.
Jasmine Kim
We wanted to eat NOLA fresh oysters one last time before our flight around noon. They not only open around 10am as opposed 11am but also had oysters available that early. The oysters were fresh and were prepared with minimal gritty stuff on them. The oysters were on the cheaper side than oysters offered at nearby restaurants: $21 per dozen as opposed to $24 per dozen.
carli g
Our waiter, Ronald, was great! He took care of us ladies. The food was very good, but the entree sizes were so small! We’re all 5 young ladies in our early 30’s and we were starving from exploring and drinking through the city, we wanted some sustenance! I finished my $31 entree in less than 5 minutes. Everyone at my table was still hungry after 2 appetizers and an entree. But every was very good.
Dieter Ferreira
Excellent. Both Redfish and Grouper (already turned over in photo, sorry) grilled to perfection, with a 5th star for excellent veggie medley accompanied by splendid service.
Absolutely delightful ambiance and service.
Deanne Ramsey
Chris was my server, when he heard receptionist made me throw out my street drink (32 oz pina colada to go) he brought champagne to make it up. Awesome service at this place but be aware, no actual redfish is in the menu which is what I came for. Instead, got oysters on the half shell, good, but not what I really wNted
Lady B
The food was awesome, our server Ike was beyond great!
Dwight Hobberechts
Excellent experience. Great service. Delcious food. A very relaxing time for me.
Taylor
Get Jimmy the waiter, he's hilarious and so helpful. All the food and drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was perfect.
Stacy Kline
Phenomenal New Orleans restaurant with exceptional cuisine & wonderful staff!
OMAR ALTURKY
Very busy seafood restaurant, its location at the start of bourbon street makes it very crowded and nosy , but the food is delicious.
Thomas Perkins
First visit since Covid. In the past, it had an extensive menu of that was really hit or miss. This time the menu had been pared way down. 5 or 6 appetizers. A couple of soups and salads. 5 or six entrees. 4 or 5 desserts. My food was excellent. I could hear other tables extolling the food they had received.
Prices ranged from $9 for the least expensive appetizer to $38 for the most expensive entree. (And it was sinfully good!)
Ronnie Pearson
So this was an interesting score for me. First of all the gumbo is great but had no rice for it. Then we had to pay to get some for it. Also I had the grilled reddish and it was very dry. The serving size was small for the price. Now if you talk about service and speed for your food, it was 5 star. This is the reason I rated a 3.
Mike Chamberlain
We called to see if they could accommodate our group for lunch and the said they could. We forgot to.make a reservation yet when we arrived, they had a table set for us! Food was amazing and service was solid (impressive given the challenges most restaurants are facing).
citrusisdum
I loved this place in about 2018-19, but their menu has changed a lot. Removed things like create your own dish of fish menu. Overall, the food was good and our favorite server is Ike. 😋 …
Dominique Jordan
Sat at the bar and our bartender steve was great. The drinks was exclusive , food was great, and Dessert was excellent
Morgan Dixon (The L & T MD)
Only was able to experience this via take out and it was delicious! Can't wait to come back when I can have the full dining experience. Catfish was yummy and fried perfectly. Didn't even need tartar sauce 😊 The gumbo hot the spot for sure! Heard from others that they enjoyed their experience as well and that they were very accommodating for large groups. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Jim Moring
Happy Hour snack. Succulent Gulf oysters and Alligator sausage & seafood gumbo. Steve at the bar made the very best cocktails and service was over the top. This place is the Real Deal, NOLA at it's finest.
Sandy Zeutschel
Big negative goes to the hostess who was the most non friendly person. I get it's Mardi Gras but one needs to be a bit more cheery and helpful.
Lee Coursey
This place is underrated. It may be part of a group but the staff is amazing, the food is always good, and the atmosphere is so comfortable. It merges casual dining with the New Orleans food that we are looking for. Every time I come here I learn some little something and the team there shares freely. Nick, Tylor, Elijah, Steve and all the others talk and share like you’re a regular. It’s awesome. Also, brunch selection as good as anywhere in town.
Betsy Rivas
Delicious only scratches the surface. The BBQ shrimp appetizer was an unexpected explosion of flavor fusion. Krystal BBQ sauce dressed medium-sized shrimp, deep fried with homemade bleu cheese dressing. Oh my gawd! The Signature Redfish was delicious on a bed of diced potatoes and mushrooms. All 4 entrees around our table received rave reviews! Will definitely return. Reservations highly recommended.
David Hilbert
Possibly the best meal I ever ate! Wonderful explosion of food. Great serving staff! Wonderful experience. Amazing dessert pictured here for chocolate bread pudding.
Takisha Collins
Stop here hour drinks. Bartender give us alot of information about where to eat and great jazz. Made an awesome hurricane and peach sangria... stop by a couple of time. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pics, sorry.
Gina B
BBQ shrimp and the peach and lavender creme brulee are a MUST try! The ambience is so chill. A bit pricey but definitely worth every cent. I highly recommend.
Ken Fetzer
This place is ALWAYS a great meal with great service. Only thing I do not like has nothing to do with the restaurant, but the location. You have to be prepared to step over homeless people, smoking drugs in the street to get there. I saw a guy dealing drugs 50 feet from the building tonight.
Sheila Louis
Food was excellent. Limited menu due to COVID19; however, items were delish.
Kevin Mahmalji
Upscale restaurant that features some Louisiana classics like a gumbo with a delicious dark roux and pan fried crab cakes. The wood grilled bay snapper and shrimp is absolutely incredible - I highly recommend it!
Mel Johnson
Omg liv d the place. Our waiter Cameron was so nice. He suggested what to eat and told us what we wouldn't like if we didn't eat spicy food so helpful because spicy makes me sick. The Hurricane drink used real juices and tasted great. Let me tell you about my food Shrimp and Grits was so good I hmmmed the whole time. Really enjoyed my meal.
Shannon
Was definitely amazing! Would definitely go back again! The atmosphere was beautiful ,the food was upscale & 5 Star with beautiful presentation. Also service was great
Britney Zanders
BBQ Oyster po-boy 🤤🤤🤤 aaaannnnddddd they serve actual sweet tea!!! Everywhere else handed me unsweet and Splenda... the audacity, lol!!! G.R.I.T.S. ...you have to know we LOVE our sweet tea!!!! They also serve a warm French Baggett prior to the meal 🤤🤤🤤. I ❤️ carbs 😂😩🤷🏾♀️ #NOLA …
Susie Waddell
Tim, our waiter, was awesome. He was funny in a quiet Bob Newhart way. I loved him. Cocktails were great, salad was amazing, all the food was excellent. Highly recommend.
C Rosenblatt
Chris is an amazing server. Attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The food is well prepared. This was our first time eating red fish and it was perfection.
LeAndre Hooks
I was on a mission to eat any and everything that spoke of NOLA (at least to me). At The Red Fish Grill the BBQ's oysters are by far a must have as well as the Crawfish Jambalaya. They are not what I would call budget friendly but it is definitely worth the price. If you are going to be in the area go ahead and call to make your reservations (Andrew was nice enough to help get us in but that was definitely above and beyond). Anniversary dinner was an outstanding success!!
Tim O'Toole
Sonia the waitress was awesome. She deserves a shout out from the manager. Food was great, drinks were great. We had a blast. Will be back next time we're in town.
Tim Buntley
The grits at Redfish are hands down the best in the nation and I would know. I would get on a plane and fly there every morning if I could. Great food. Great service.
Roza Bell
This place was delicious! Wonderful staff, amazing wine selection and the dessert was phenomenal! Definitely worth a stp when visiting NOLA
Napoli Gómez R.
Great place great tasty food but the food is too small as shown in the pics! Be sure to ask enough bread to complete your stomach! 🤭 …
LivinonStormMountain
Most amazing food! Oysters on the half ahell were sweet, filet mignon with the creamed sweet potato and bourbon sauce was to die for. The nightly special of flash grilled Mahi with a creamed cajun pasta was delightful, so tender! Amd save room for the blueberry shortcake-like tasting home, the peach lavender creme Brule was delicate and oh so delightful. Service by Anna was spectacular, give the woman a raise!
Skip the other restaurants. This food was what makes Nola famous! Chefs kiss!
Elizabeth
Wonderful! Great ambiance, great food, great service! The alligator sausage and seafood gumbo in the good dark roux is a must. $49 1 lb. crab dinner is a must. Located on iconic Bourbon Street, this is a wonderful place to visit on your Vacation to New Orleans.
Kody Crary
We tried the crabcake and alligator boudin balls to start with, they are amazing.
Chris took very good care of us. Wonderful food and great service from everyone.
W Johnston
This place is worth it. The house salad although very simple is complex in flavor and so delicious. The Shrimp Bienville, BBQ Oysters, Black Drum and Shrimp were all delicious! Come here for a nice sit down dinner in a very relaxed environment.
Christin D'Ovidio
A nicer side of NOLA, our server was very pleasant, if she didn't know the answer to something, she would go to find out. Most all of the dishes we had we great, only one was odd (lobster cheesecake) - just weird, off textures. Other foods were good: redfish, swordfish, a jambalaya, shrimp appetizer (see pic, was not what we expected- still was good.) Descriptions were not always quite clear, so ask. All drinks were great. A little pricey overall, but the experience stood out, so it may be the current economy.
Alexandra
Good food and really good service, we had the nicest waiter we've had on our trip so far. The gator balls were the best part of the meal and the bread pudding was sooo good.
Samantha Rosanna Ramsammy
A nice restaurant for tourists. Friendly staff and the food feels local . And it’s not over priced
Duane Sweeney
Great food and super service! Frankie was awesome! He made our experience memorable, and I will definitely recommend this place to all!
Taylor Blum
The place was nice, and the service was very professional but a little slow. So it was mostly pleasant in that regard. My biggest complaint is that the food I had was pretty bland, and the Margarita was nothing special. Definitely not worth the $51 I paid for them. Almost everyone else in my party really enjoyed their food, so I may have just ordered the wrong dish.
Mark Nave
Great food, atmosphere and service!! The red fish was the truth. The shrimp was outstanding and the cocktails were great!
Renee Lynch
Really great place , we had brunch with bottomless Mimosas . Angie our server was exceptional !!! Sunday Oct 30th before the WhoDat !!!!
Erin Gut
We had reservations and our wait time was still insane. We were there for over three hours. The food was good, but for me, it wasn't worth waiting that much time.
Andrew Newcomb
Local; been to lots of places all over the city. So far Red Fish had by far the best food and outstanding service. Had several bad experiences at other places we had high expectations for, so this was awesome! Redfish with Crawfish tail is to die for.
Hans Chaney
Great Taste of NOLA. The gumbo is just the seasoning that I was looking for when I came here. This place will not disappoint. Ask for Ben as your waiter. Tell him Hans sent you.
Joshua D
One of the best meals on my trip down south hands down. Holli greeted and seated us even tho it was about closing time. Wonderful people and superb food. PS GET the bread pudding!!!!
Clorinda Roache
Highly recommend! Food, service, and atmosphere are all outstanding. Red Fish Grill offers a contrast to the chaos of Bourbon Street. Decor is festive yet tasteful. Our waiter was attentive and treated us like royalty. BBQ oysters so unique and delicious-definitely given them a try. Save room for the chocolate bread pudding too. Best meal in New Orleans.
Lindsey Soprano
One of my all time favorite restaurants! Don’t let the location on Bourbon fool you. The blue cheese fried oysters are to die for. My favorite main dish is the wood grilled black drum with lemon butter sauce. I try not to visit the same restaurant twice during my trip, but I break this rule with Red Fish Grill.
*August 2022 update: Blue cheese fried oysters are now priced at $20 for 6. RIP getting a dozen for $20.
Becky B
We absolutely love Red Fish Grill! It's become a staple on our visits to New Orleans. The BBQ Oysters are phenomenal!
kimg074
Best soup I have EVER had! I normally don't like bread pudding, however this was AMAZING!
Andrea Williams
Everything was delicious. BBQ oysters, stuffed shrimp, even the burger. My husband especially enjoyed the bread pudding a la mode.
Derek p
This was a great place for brunch. Had the bottomless cocktails and the Bourbon Street breakfast. The drinks were on point and the breakfast was delicious. My GF got the crab cakes which were absolutely amazing (and I'm not a huge fan of seafood). Sonia was our server and she made the visit so much better. Highly recommended.
Johnny Jackson
Service was excellent, Great Waiter, food was the Best, will definitely go back !!!
Saul Kaiserman
The ambiance feels like anywhere, but the food is absolutely incredible. Loved the live piano player.
Dave Hall
This is my wife's favourite restaurant in the French Quarter, and I love it too. We don't come to New Orleans without having a meal here.
The BBQ oysters are a treat, the service is always great and the location is perfect.
They will seat you if they can when you walk in, but I would recommend making a reservation for lunch or dinner.
David Bishop
Great place.... Excellent food and service. So much food had to share entree
Celeste McCoy
This is a wonderful place to eat. The whole experience was awesome, the staff is very attentive. The atmosphere is very friendly & feels like your among friends. The food was great, we couldn't eat enough, all the flavors were incredible. If you get the chance stop in and have lunch, if not for the food it is located on Bourbon St.
Russ Seff
Classic old fashioned was weak. Oysters were small. Cup of gumbo is $12. Redfish entree was good but on the small side.
Michelle Kim
The fish was great and they were beyond accommodating when they realized a time change messed up our reservation (completely our fault). The service is a little slow during peak hours but this is because they are PACKED. Casual to business casual vibes. Great cocktails! I can’t recommend enough for any seafood lover
April Skogerboe
My husband and I had dinner here during our stay in New Orleans. Everything was delicious and they even split up each dish for us since we were sharing multiple items. Our server was fantastic and very pleasant! They were extremely generous with a discount for military members. Would absolutely dine here again our next time in New Orleans!
David Hitchings
Food is spectacular and the service from Ike was absolutely impeccable! He put our dining experience over the top! Thank you Ike you were a pleasure!
Kathleen Boerigter
Sooo much fun with Ben the bartender! Great service and fun with other customers. The daily special was outstanding...sorry no picture of food.
Sean Flury
This was my favorite New Orleans experience! Ike was such a fun experience and so very personable. The dishes made by executive chef Chris were absolutely the best food I had in my trip here. I will come here every time I visit Louisiana!
Luna Torres
This food was amazing. Must eat Buffalo blue cheese oysters!! And they gave the kids ice cream after dinner
tiger Jd
Very good food wonderful atmosphere maybe I just didn't get the right server. Service was slow
Allen Harmon
Food was very good great service, staff was very friendly.
Jose Cabanas
It is the kind of a place you got to go when visiting New Orleans. Worldwide known sea food plates and good atmosphere.
Wayne Boyko
Delicious food and bottomless cocktails. Whats not to love. I had red fish with crawfish tails and my wife had fish tacos. With BBQ shrimp appetizer. Food really was great, so was the bourbon mule, smoky Paloma, and new orleans cup I had and the peach sangria my wife had.
lynne clemons
Everytime I have come to New Orleans I have dined here. The food is all fresh and delicious. Our waiter was so nice I could tell he loved his job.
Denise Roop
The alligator boudin balls appetizer was delicious plus the accompanying sweet/spicy sauce. Both of our fish entrees cooked and seasoned perfectly. Very good service!
Saundra Bethley
The service is always great and the bar-b-que oysters are impeccable!!! You've got to try them!
Lauren Washington
Our server, Ike, was the best part of our trip to New Orleans. Definitely request him if you have an opportunity to stop by!
The food was amazing! We had gumbo, crab cakes, the snapper, shrimp and grits, and the chocolate bread pudding. Hands down some of the best gumbo I’ve ever had and the snapper was to die for. Great drink selection as well! Such a wonderful experience.
M B
The wood grilled redfish and blackened cat fish were spectacular! I made an online reservation the day of and easily got a table. Friendly service. I only wish they served a slice or two of bread alongside the appetizer to lap up the delicious sauce instead of having to separately order a loaf. But apart from this, a good experience!
Pamela Padilla
The place which mixes the best of creole food with a modern touch. As coming from the Brennan’s restaurant group, quality was expected, and it was definitely shown. The bbq oysters and the lobster cheesecake, were very yummy. The filet mignon and the tamarind chicken, were just mind blowing! That chocolate bread pudding, left me breathless. The best food ever!
jim mopar
Great location wonderful atmosphere my food was delicious. I guess I got a poor server service was slow
Nicole
Came here for a dinner with Co workers while in town. Unique, colorful restaurant. Great service and food! I had the Shrimp and grits, cream of broccoli with crawfish and a hurricane drink (pecan pie to go)
sheila scanlan
Our server Sherrie was the best! The food was spectacular and service was amazing. We had appetizers, entrees, and house drinks. This was a great choice for the evening.
Alloy Auto Vintage
Excellent food and service. Hands down, the best Shrimp & Grits I've ever had.
Eriyana was very hospitable and good at her job.
If you patron the place, you must try the QUEEN NEFERTARI'S COCKTAIL.
Kyle Harper
I think the food tasted good, but was way over priced. I had better food at the dive bar a block away for half the price. It was clean and nice inside and the staff was relatively nice.
Rose Echo
We went in for dinner and deserts. Ben was amazing and such a wonderful waiter. Food was amazing...we loved the bread and butter! The oysters could be a little bit bigger for the price. But...again...the food was amazingly delicious
BH Jeon
Raw oysters are the best. One of the few places in New Orleans with friendly and professional staffs.
Arielle Forbes
BBQ OYSTERS!!!! Their bbq oysters are the best in town. Try them alone or in a Po’boy. Great drink selection too! Try the Orleans cup, their take on the Pimms.
Cynthia Dooley
The red fish bites were delicious melt in your mouth. The chocolate bread pudding outstanding.
Jeremy L-J (Jay)
The desert was really good! We had a lot of fun and our waitress Hailey was really cute and funny! Would recommend!
Bishop Delaney
I came here on my first night in New Orleans. The atmosphere was very nice and the place was clean. I ordered a jambalaya pasta. It was in a white sauce and had roast duck, andouille sausage, and crawfish in it. The pasta, a spiral type, was undercooked and really chewy. The flavor of the duck did not seem to go well with the white sauce. My meal had… 2 pieces of andouille sausage. I would have liked a little more. My wife got the catch of the day, which was a blackened tuna. The meal seemed really small, particularly for the price of the meal. The meal itself was okay. Flavor was mediocre. I tried a bite myself and didn’t think it was that great. For dessert we got the pecan pie. It wasn’t sweet enough for me. The sweet sugary filling that usually binds the pecans together was extremely light and all I could taste was a slightly sweet pecan.
Service was good.. not great. Our server was knowledgeable on the menu but it took a while to get a refill on my beverage and she didn’t check on us very often. At the end they brought a card where we could rate the restaurant but didn’t provide us a pen to fill it out. We paid at the table by an electronic device so there was no receipt to sign. I thought I would get a pen then but did not.
Overall it’s an okay place to eat, but with the prices we paid I would have expected better service and quality of food. If you’re willing to spend a bit more than chain restaurant fair then I would suggest elsewhere.
Thomisia Glymph
Food and atmosphere was amazing. Smaller portion sizes than I was expecting for the price. But hey it is Bourbon Street so, I'm guessing the focus is on the drinks
Lyons Den
Great food! Our server Chris was very attentive.
Mark Dudzik
Great food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, can't go wrong!
Cindy Missildine
We had a waiter that has worked at this establishment for 20 years he was so nice and the food was great
Kelly Klees
Just wow! What a wonderful experience. So glad we ended up coming in Ona whim. Melanie is such a wonderful server and person and absolutely made our experience at the restaurant. If she doesn’t get a raise yesterday I’ll be very upset. Fantastic food, beautiful restaurant. Would recommend to anyone coming to New Orleans
Sean Williams
Great dinner with a lot of gulf seafood options available. Wait staff was excellent and dealt with a lot of very impatient customers who tossed food all over the floor with patience and grace. Cocktails were very interesting and the food was well prepared. The prices were on the higher side, but we're acceptable for the quality. I'd recommend a visit if you are in New Orleans.
g gjr
We visit NOLA alot and make it a point to visit Red fish and we usually eat at the bar and as always great food and service.
Jessica Bender
We made reservations for New Year's Day. There was no wait. The place was clean. Our server Frank was awesome. His recommendations were spot on and he timely checked on us. Their wood grilled red fish and chocolate bread pudding is to die for. Highly recommend this place.
Brian Conley
The food was excellent, service was top notch! Our server Chris was professional and knew his products!
Kathleen Gomez
Outstanding service and fabulous food, reasonable prices!
Steven Thompson
Food and service have been nothing short of excellent. If I didn't live 1,000 miles away I would dine here more often
Kyle Mavin
Great food - amazing wait staff (thanks Philip for taking care of us)...if you are there try the bread pudding!!
Djennyfer Ferreira
The best meal I ever had in a very long time. Great service and location.
Mary Clarice Hathaway
Fantastic restaurant! The fried fish balls were fantastic and the steak was amazing!
Caroline Luzze
The food was amazing and our waiter Ike was the best!
Bob L
Friendly service! Made a reservation (I suggest the same if you're coming during peak dinner hours!)
Items we ordered as of 3/2022
- Shrimp Bienville - $12 - Gulf shrimp "stuffed" with mushrooms, Parmesan cheese, butter & herb breadcrumbs. Very good. Wish they gave us more!
- Half Dozen Raw Oysters - $12 - Great flavor especially for the price!
- Chef's Catch - $40 - That night it was lamb chops. Flavor was decent but I was disappointed at the size it was a couple pieces of lamb with a side of white fish and couscous. For the price I don't find it worth it.
- Wood Grilled Redfish and Crawfish Tails - $38 - Great blackened flavor. Missus really enjoyed this dish. Do note that if you're expecting large portions for the price think again!
Overall I enjoyed the vibe of the place and the complimentary bread was soft and fluffy! I would recommend (though I would stick to the main menu next time).
Dan Mayer
Two nights in a row sitting in the bar at Red Fish watching March Madness games and enjoying wonderful New Orleans cuisine. BBQ Oysters, every time. Our server, Chris, was phenomenal both nights. Great service, and great rapport with our two teenage sons. +++++
Mark Bredin
Great service and Great food! The spicy BBQ oyterers are our favorite!
Samantha Kates
2nd trip to New Orleans...had to make sure we visited red fish grill a 2nd time!! Amazing food. You won't be let down.
Melissa Wilson
Service was friendly and attentive. Food was great!
Kilsis Julia
Our waiter Jeff was amazing. He was knowledgeable of the menu, gave us great recommendations and was funny. I had the gumbo with alligator and it was good. One of my sisters and i shared the Wood Grilled Striped Bass & Louisiana Shrimp and it was delicious. We all shared their chocolate dessert and it did not disappoint. I had the street car bourbon drink and it was delicious. Would come back.
Indarjit Singh
Jay was excellent. The Redfish was absolutely fantastic. The cocktails and crème brulee was to die for.
Sandra Cotter
Great oysters! Cody, the bartender, is full of personality and very attentive. A great night
Gordon Van Wechel
Excellent service, food portions were quite small for the price.
Yvonne Simpson
We came to Red Fish to celebrate a birthday. Most wonderful custoner service from beginning to end. Get reservations early for this gem on Bourbon Street.
John Switzer
We had a lovely lunch at this restaurant, including the fried oyster appetizer. Different from any fried oyster I had ever tasted in my life! And I normally do not like fried oysters. This was unique and packed with flavor. It was my birthday and we sat at the bar. The entire bar staff treated us like royalty and helped us celebrate my birthday with a complimentary French 75 cocktail as well as a complimentary dessert. Our sincere thanks go out to this fine Brennan establishment for their kindness and generosity. And the food was Top Notch. A highlight of our trip to NOLA.
Charles Peeples
Great place to eat on Bourbon Street. I had the shrimp and grits. It was delicious. The server Jimmy was very knowledgeable and gave you all of the information to make a good meal choice. Decadent desserts as well. All 7 of us enjoyed thoroughly
Tami and Cassandra Fu
Fantastic service by Jasmine- Thank you! Thoroughly enjoyed the crawfish cheesecake appetizer and bread pudding!
David Meiri
Amazing food, beginning to end. Leave room for the double chocolate bread pudding!
William Smith
Nice no frills casual spot for seafood eats. Enjoyed lunch here. The fist tacos were delicious. Service was prompt and courteous.
Terry Mullins
Great atmosphere and food. Service was great to.
Simona Nagyova
We came by for a quick food, ordered some starters. The place was pretty pricy in comparison with other places, the menu is not huge but a bit fancy. I have to say though, best gumbo in town.
jeffrey brown
Outstanding BBQ oysters & wood fired redfish. Located at the beginning of Bourbon St. Eat & then go play.
alicia mickey
Great food, atmosphere and portion size! Just the right amount of noise! Plan to return soon!
Millie Rocklage
Sooooo good! Great choices and everything was fresh and tasty.
Jennifer Patino
Amazing Redfish & lump crabmeat dinner! Thank you Phillip, you have GREAT customer service.
Vara
The crabcake was the best ever; brussel sprouts were unfortunately drenched in oil.
Mark Rozek
Pros: The entrée was delicious, though small for the price
Cons: Server was unfamiliar with specials and was largely MIA during our meal, despite it not being a very busy night. Our glasses remained empty for more than 10 minutes waiting for our server to come to the table to check on us. Our entrée was served prior to our soup course. Server said he would bring the soup right out and I asked for it to be held until after we finished our meal since I didn't want both at the same time. After finishing dinner, had to wait again for the server to appear with the soup.
Overall disappointed with this restaurant and would not return.
F C
Grilled redfish/crab with sauteed spinach was delicious. Brittany, our waitress was wonderful!
JANET
Great environment, friendly staff. Food was amazing. I ordered the Shrimp and grits. I wish I had a second helping! Go here, you won't be disappointed.
Lynne Padilla
Relied on online ratings when we chose this restaurant. Glad we picked it! Everything we ordered was really delicious and fish was perfectly cooked! Also, our server Frank was very courteous, attentive, and thorough. He informed us of what was available and suggested which ones in the menu were the "best-sellers."
Rene Moreno
Ike had the best customer service. Didn't really feel welcomed in New Orleans until we got to the Redfish and Ike served us. Even went the next day for dinner just for that reason. Definitely recommend! Try the Gator Gumbo!
Crystal Haley
Service was exceptional. We had Sonia as a sever. She was very knowledgeable of the menu, and drinks available. I had her surprise me with an entree, and it was amazing! I had the fish of the day: drum fish with crawfish in a chipotle hollandaise sauce. If this was on the regular menu, I’d become a REGULAR! She brought over the chef of the dish, Erik, and he was so friendly and knowledgeable. He taught us a thing or two about the regional gulf fish. Ben brought out our dessert, and he was super friendly and sweet! I would give the Red Fish Grill 5/5 stars. Would definitely recommend.
Alisa Norcom
First time eating at Red Fish Grill. I really liked the atmosphere and the staff was super friendly! We ordered the Gumbo and Shrimp Bienville for starters. They were both very good and a nice serving size. We had the grilled swordfish and the wooplanked snapper. They were both excellent! Would go back for the swordfish! It was a great combination of savory, spicy, and citrus. A must try if you like swordfish! I would say that the pink eyed peas could be removed from the recipe. They didn't provide much flavor or texture to the dish. We were too full to try dessert 😞 , but might stop by tonight to get a bread pudding to go!
Janet Torres
My experience was so good that I went twice with my boyfriend the same day on a Sunday for brunch and dinner. The decoration is relax and beautiful, both enjoyed the piano music at brunch, the service was perfect, enjoy very much my brunch toasts with crab and jam. The seafood at night was delicious.
Antwynette Houston
Food was delicious! I'd definitely go again
J Sue
Great food and excellent service. Ohhh the dessert is to die for!
Sarah Byers
Great service, big menu selection. No GF bun or bread options, but easy to order sandwich without. I got the gulf fish--so good! Our table also did the $25 bottomless brunch cocktails, would highly recommend. You are able to change which cocktail you want after ordering from the given selection, not being stuck to the same cocktail for bottomless was great! Catfish bites were also very flaky and delicious, oysters were huge. If you save room for desert, make it the soft serve praline sundae!
Anita Herman
The Service was amazing our server was amazing she went out of her way for us. I did care for the food. I was expecting to have tuna. However, I got raw tuna.
Vin Fri
The best meal we had so far in New Orleans with impeccable service.
Marissa Fuqua
I don’t even like bread pudding.... but this was insanely delicious!!! Get a side of the soft serve... trust me! 😏😋 …
Lupe Wilburn
Great service! Good food!
rob schueller
The fish bites were nice. But the redfish was rather dry. In their defense my SO has an allergy to shellfish so it was cooked seperately and did not include the crawfish.
The oysters were good.
Wait staff was outstanding
Brandie Reeves
Oysters really good. Service awesome. Shrimp and grits ok.
Denise Russell
My family and I been in New Orleans for 3 days thus far. Everything we tried here was of poor quality and quantity until we tried Red Fish Grill. This has been by far a great meal for all 5 of us. No complaints!! We had brunch. Crabcakes, Poached eggs, sweet potatoes hash browns. Thank you Red Fish Grill for saving our vacation!! We will be BACK before we leave!!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Carol Sockman
Red Fish Grill was our first stop in NOLA. It was recommended by a friend that lives in NOLA. The experience did not disappoint! Our waiter, Ike was the best! He made our night with his outgoing friendly personality. He represented the Red Fish brand with pride and knowledge. The food was outstanding. The hurricane were the best. We went back to the Red Fish the next days just for the hurricanes! We would go back to Red Fish again. If you have a chance to eat there ….go for it and ask for Ike.
Southern Independant
We finally set down to eat at a place in New Orleans that checked all of the boxes. Service was great, food was outstanding and wait times were on point. If wait times and nothing, your food most likely isn't well prepared. But, if their too long your frustrated when it finally gets to you. The Red Fish Grill manged it well. Highly recommend visiting on your trip. Maybe even twice.
Patrick Brown
Very nice restaurant on Bourbon St. Not too fancy but casual upscale. Gabriell was excellent with us. She helped my wife navigate the menu for dietary restrictions and we both very much enjoyed our food. Very good bloody marys! BBQ fried oysters are awesome here! Blackened Gulf Fish (black drum) and the Land, Sea & Grits were both very tasty. The praline sundae dessert was delicious too! Come here & get a very nice dining experience.
Ramona G.
This was a very special place! And as a previous reviewer said, Misty was the greatest! Totally yes, go here!
If there's a wait, go next door to Hard Rock and grab a drink or three! Or four. Base it on your wait time. You'll forget what you were doing, but the Fish will text you when your table is ready!
Valmon Dawson
Excellent food and drinks. Highly recommend!
Tony Manella
Best of the 4 restaurants I ate at during my business trip to New Orleans. The raw oysters were PHENOMENAL!!!! Also the best shrimp and grits.
Lisa Faulk
Best SERVICE and food we had in New Orleans! Ask ONLY for Ike! He is THE best server....in the world! Superb Gumbo, salad, burgers & Po-boys!
bob allen
Food was great and Chris was best server ever
Mel V
This was my first dining experience during our stay in New Orleans. We tried the alligator boudin balls, alligator sausage and seafood gumbo, shrimp and grits, and crawfish pasta jambalaya. Delicious! The gumbo had such a good flavor. We also tried some fun and unique cocktails. We visited many restaurants during our stay, but Red Fish Grill was definitely a favorite! Service was super friendly and attentive. I want more!
Graham Baskin
Loved it! Great bourbon cocktail (I forgot what it’s called) po boy was awesome! My friends loved the fish tacos! Also, Chris our waiter is 🔥 …
Becky W
We got same day reservations on Open Table, and were seated immediately even though we arrived a bit early. Our waitress, Melanie, was outstanding. She had great suggestions on food and answered questions we had about the menu. She was attentive throughout the meal without hovering. The wood grilled red fish was fantastic, and my husband really enjoyed the BBQ oysters. The cocktails were also good. We should have skipped the chocolate bread pudding. It was simply too rich and we could not finish it. I would like to return and try other items on the menu.
Dean Barnett
The brunch menu features some tasty crab cakes. The Bourbon Street breakfast has the best smoked andouille sausage I've ever tasted. And the Bloody Mary's are pretty damned good, too.
Rose
Greeted with a smile & seated. Ronald was our waiter. He went above & beyond to make our dining
Amazing. We came back the next day and requested him again. We go to New Orleans alot & start our trip with BBQ oysters/shrimp & the day we leave have lunch again. Thank-you for your Quality of Service & Food. My husband is an Executive Chef &:Enjoys great food. Actually very particular & a big compliment to you. Thank you
David Sewell
Always fresh ingredients and the dishes are impeccably presented at a price point that helps the common guy enjoy chef prepared creations. The wait staff are an art form by themselves - professional to a tee. Don't miss this experience.
Maxwell McGuire
We shared a po boy and had some alligator boudans and catfish bites. This was such a great lunch. Awesome drinks, great food. Would definitely go again.
Eric F
Live in San Diego just got back from Fiji and the redfish crawfish signature may be the best fish dish I’ve had in a long time.
P Dai
Fantastic seafood! Will definitely return. Our waitress was super professional.
calisouthqueen
They are nice and friendly. The food was delicious. Very nice atmosphere. Great drinks.
Eric Kreckman
Phenomenal food and service to match! The shrimp and grits is simply sublime. The dish has such a perfectly matched medley of flavors. I savored every bite. My wife had blackened shrimp in lieu of the blackened catfish and that also was fantastic. I personally like the atmosphere very much it was pretty busy but we'll staffed. The wait staff at the Red Fish Grill is extraordinarily competent, friendly and helpful. We'll be back.
Roxanne Hiller
Food and service was amazing. Unfortunately we were charged double for our food order. My husband was Paying the bill when I realized it was too much. Scan your bill people.....
Jerrod Kaplan
I thought about making a joke review, like "WOULDN'T MAKE ME CHICKEN NUGGETS ZERO STARS" or something, but I just can't. It was great. This was my choice to fix my craving for blackened fish, and fix it they did. So peppery and blackened and tasty! The chocolate bread pudding I got was good too even though someone there really should have stopped me from eating it all. Oh, and my cocktail was amazing, but I can't remember which one it was. Something with ginger beer and cucumber. Not quite so sweet as other cocktails.

We had a wonderful experience here. A gem at the start of crazy & chaotic Bourbon Street. We sat at the bar & were wholly attended to by Tylor who recommended the BBQ oysters that were beyond delicious. A must try! Specialty drinks were not disappointing. We tried the boxcar, sazerac, & hurricane as well as the house lemonade and all quite delightful. The place has a calm and comfy air. A little pricier but worth it.

Easy to make reservations online. Friendly employees. They do check for COVID vaccinations. Everything was neat and clean. I had the pasta with shrimp ettouffe, my aunt the shrimp and oyster combo, her friend the shrimp and grits. Everything was great.

Chris the server was amazing and the food was very good

Prices were soooo expensive. Be prepared to spend a lot. Bought 2 soups, 2 drinks and 2 desserts and walked out spending $53.08.
James Heck
Food is delicious, service excellent and price very competitive.

Food was good. Waiter was very nice but kept taking our stuff before we were done. He tried to take a drink and did take a dessert before we were finished.
John Paganini
Service was fantastic, filet mignon and redfish special were excellent and the drinks were perfectly concocted. Awesome experience

Good location, great food, but kinda pricy..

The Sazerac is amazing! Great gumbo. Our server, Nick, is excellent. Sit in his section and tip him good. The chopped salad is flavorful. The blackened red fish is good but not a very large serving. We were afraid that we were going to fill up splitting salad and gumbo and having the red fish, we didn't. We ended up ordering dessert, bread pudding, a New Orleans favorite and a praline sundae. Both worth ordering. The presentation of the bread pudding with Nick pouring amazing chocolate ganache over the hot pudding, so good! I couldn't give a five because of portion size and good but not mind blowing food. Still had a great time, nice place to eat. But not likely to visit again.

Great food and service. They have highly reflective surfaces everywhere so it's very noisy. I had wood grilled redfish and it was very good. The portions aren't big so it was easy to finish. The chocolate bread pudding was also very good.

I loved it! Came here solely based on good Yelp reviews. I had the wood fired Red Fish and hubby had grouper fish. Both were cooked to perfection. I really liked the fact that you could choose your own sauce. The french bread was warm and excellent too!
The whole staff was friendly without being snooty. Server was also on top of everything. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a menu with healthy options. Did I mention that the salads are excellent too?

Great service and food. Loved bottomless cocktail option.

Amazing experience and more than exceptional.
Really believe my wife and I experienced what New Orleans is known for in their food with this restaurant.
Let me tell you one thing that was my best experience of all.
Ike my server was a genuine and exceptional man.
He went above and beyond for my wife and I.
This establishment must ABSOLUTELY recognize this man for who he is as a man and his work ethic most of all.
Every employee can learn from this man and his knowledge and catering others.
Definitely hold a standard of what professionalism shall be.

Red Fish Grill was one of our favorite places to eat at while in New Orleans! We went on Sunday morning for their bottomless brunch. Our awesome waiter Ronald never let our glasses get empty! He was great and super attentive. I ordered the fish tacos and they were SOOOOOOO GOOD. My boyfriend ordered the crawfish cakes, which were very fresh and tasty. We had a great experience here. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town!

Excellent service! We had a great meal. Lavender blueberry pancakes were awesome. We ended up waiting out the rain at the bar...Apple Sangria's are amazing!

This place was fantastic! If you go here, request Ike as your server. He definitely took this place up a couple notches from an already great experience to and amazing one.
We had oysters on a half shell, which were pretty standard. The gumbo was awesome. Probably the best gumbo that I've ever had! We also had the red snapper with crab. Oh man, so great!
Anyone that's considering going here, do it! And again, ask for Ike!

I had a fantastic experience at the Red Fish Grill from entrance to exit.
I was greeted very nicely and sat promptly. My server, Philip, was knowledgeable, kind, and patient when I had questions.
The food was fantastic. I had the barbecue oysters, alligator gumbo (both Red Fish Grill classics) and the crawfish . Well portioned and priced, and was delicious.
During my meal one of the managers, Dawn, approached me to make sure I was being taken care of and made sure I had no concerns (I did not).
On top of this, the men's restrooms were clean and well kept (a rarity in such a high traffic area like Bourbon Street)

One of the best meals I've had in New Orleans!! Both fried and raw oysters were incredible. The crab cake was the best I've had. Our server, Ike, was friendly and funny and attentive. A must eat at in NOLA.

Busy place! It was full of energy. Our waiter was this older guy. 60 years old but full of energy. He was attentive and knowledgeable. I asked him about alligator meat and he was unsure so he brought over his manager and the manager helped us. I love this!! I love when people who do t know information. Instead of lying, go and find the truth. Place was expensive and food was decent. But the environment made up for it. Good work!

Great food, great service, and GREAT dessert! The best restaurant of the four we have visited so far. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting New Orleans.

Eryion and Deedee made our first experience in New Orleans a very special one. Can’t give great enough reviews to this place! Great food, great service, and great drinks if you’re ready to roll out to Bourbon!

The good: The seating time was fast, food preparation time was fast and server was great!
The Bad: Small portion sizes!
The Ugly: There was a small fruit fly in my water when it was bought out to me so uhm yeah!

The service was impeccable. Kaylee was able to help seat us quickly when a party didn’t show. She was so kind! Our waiter was Elijah who was so great! He helped us keep the party going!

Over the top! BBQ oysters was amazing. Red fish signature dish with crab is one of the finest dishes I have ever enjoyed. The double chocolate bread pudding was very nice. Our server was very attentive and extremely pleasant. Service was timely. The manager even stopped by to check on us. We will returm here on our next trip.

This was by far the best food i had while visiting New Orleans last week. Our waitress Tracy was great. Gives us several recommendations. I got the Creole Jambalaya Risotto bowl. I was great. Definitely stopping here again on my next visit.
Kendrick Landix
The atmosphere was great and our waitstaff (Ike & Jasmine) were great. The price of the food was fair and was delivered to the table within a reasonable amount of time.
It was a first time visit of mine to the establishment and I look forward to being fed there again in the near future.
Did I mention that Ike and Jasmine were great? They were very attentive to our needs and made us feel like we were their only customers even though they were serving a party of 10-12 people.
Heather H
The food here was legitimately excellent. We were skeptical because the location is right in the middle of the touristy part of Bourbon, but the oysters, fish and shrimp we had were fantastic. Reasonable prices too for the area.

This place was okay. The service was good and the location. The food was good, but not worth the cost. The floor was so slippery that I fell down and injured myself because my feet slipped right out from under me in a fraction of a second. They don't seem to actually get the grease off the floor, but more like spread it around with the mops. If you love seafood it might be a good option, but tread very carefully.
