Finally made it but not overly sold on the hype. Firstly, customer service is HORRIBLE! The darker skinned girl was the worst..for some unknown reason, her attitude was disgusting from the moment I walked in. Corporate America doesn’t deal w/that..anywho, very pricey but the food came out quickly. I ordered the southern fried catfish special, which was overly salty. I do like that they leave the potato skin/what appeared to be potato skin under the potato salad. Catfish was a bit soggy but was good. The pasta was the saltiest out of everything in the plate. The lack of Customer service seems to be the topping on the cake, which is a turn off and does the opposite of retaining customers. I’m shocked by how underwhelmed I am by this visit…

Wow the crab cakes are definitely phenomenal. Come here for those. We got three things from here: - Crabcake: get it, so good - Tacos & Wings Combo: I'd skip the tacos, did not look even close to the picture posted, shrimp and crawfish had the freezer taste and tortilla wasn't great either. Ranch fries needed salt - Double fish with seafood pasta and potato salad: fish breading was great, but wanted some sort of sauce like tartar to dip in. Seafood pasta had great flavor, very little seafood. Potato salad was okay We'd probably come back again to try some of the other seafood dishes. Wouldn't order anything we ordered today except the crabcakes.

So good! I planned a girls trip to Nola and I had Peewee’s in my must eat just after following them on instagram. My girls and I ordered basically at least everything on the menu lol. Some not pictured below but there wasn’t one thing I didn’t like. We also did a huge Uber eats order at that and everything was accurate which was surprisingly. I recommend

I do not normally write reviews for food or products, however the food at Peewee’s is over the top amazing and if I could give 100 stars I would. My family and I are in New Orleans for 24 hours and I have been wanting to try soft shell crab. We made a game plan to search for restaurants with soft shell crab. We found one and decided to try that after taking a quick nap at the hotel. After being awake for more than 24 hours and taking a very quick nap we decided we wanted to just do delivery and stay in our hotel room for the evening. We hopped on DoorDash and I found peewees. Boy am I glad we did. We have a group of four and we were all starving because we hadn’t eaten since breakfast. We ordered the jumbo fried shrimp, chicken and sausage jambalaya, fried catfish dinner, and a crawfish pasta. Everything was delicious and above and beyond any expectation that we had for the food that we were going to receive. The bonus is the crabcakes are delicious and savory and the softshell crab is something I now know I love. We have a new favorite restaurant now when we visit New Orleans. Peewees forever! Note: my husband has a friend He works with from New Orleans. He said he may walk in to work when we get back from vacation and pop his buddy in the face for not telling him about peewees. my husband is a very non violent. He is clearly disappointed that we have never had peewees before during our trips to New Orleans. Note: I am not a professional photographer. These pictures do not do the food justice. The food was AMAZING! I ordered the crabby pasta and I NEVER ordered pasta from restaurants and I'm so glad I did. The food didn't take long to prepare either. This location is a in and out location but it had one long bench, maybe 2 for you to sit in and wait. The outside didn't look like much, it even looked like it was in a bad area but I'm telling you TAKE A CHANCE and try this place, you won't regret it!

I’m a local and also a chef so my review is going to be different from most of these. In regards to the MLK location, the food is good, but it is not astoundingly great. I can understand a tourist saying this is the best food they ever had because it probably is. However honestly, their sauces are way too salty. Seasoning requires a balance salty/sour/sweet/bitter. Theirs is all salt. I could literally feel my blood pressure rising as I ate the pasta and I’m not even a senior citizen. The crab cakes are better than some places like Oceana’s frozen crab cakes but definitely not the best in the city. They cakes weren’t crisp nor did they have any lump crab meat. I assume they are using canned crab as I sometimes use in dressings. It actually tasted like breaded and fried dressing. But I love dressing. Lol. They use WAY TOO MUCH green onion. My entire pasta dish tasted like green onions. They used it for garnish as if it doesn’t have a flavor. My tip, dried parsley or even dried cilantro would work much better and not take over the dish’s flavor. The portion size compared to the price is questionable to say the least. $25-$35 for a plate is not even reasonable, especially when the food comes in a cheap styrofoam container. They have dine-in prices at a takeout only spot. These folks are making money hand over fist and I can’t be mad at it but honestly, it’s mostly from hype. A real local knows good food and this is just your basic local fare, not the best but not the worst. I’ll eat there again when I’m feeling like spending too much money on food one day.🤣

This is one of my favorite meals from them. I get it like twice a week. Jumbo fried shrimp. The shrimp comeswith a special sauce. & omg it melts in my mouth. The jambalaya is my favorite I wish they sold it as side by itself. . I have tried a few other things from them and this is by far my top two dishes I crave. Give them a try they have two locations in New Orleans.

This was by far the best food I’ve ever had! On our recent visit to New Orleans we visited this place three times. The food is so good I’m glad I don’t have one in my city. I would be there every day until I tried the whole menu. The wat’s that sauce is so good it could be a soup. When we vist again this will be our first stop.

I really was stuck between 3 and 4 stars, the food was ok... I don't get the hype BUT it's definitely a place I say go visit and see for yourself. The food is definitely expensive and the portions are ok if you're not that hungry. You go in order your food and they call you when it's ready and it didn't take long but I can tell it's definitely made to order everything was hot and didn't have that heat up taste. So awesome on that part. The barbecue shrimp sauce was different in a good way but it didn't get into the shrimp. I love barbecue shrimp so that was disappointing. The crabs were good but in a dressing type of way and the fried soft crab was good but hardly no seafood topping and as a appetizer I think it should be two or at least a more satisfying portion/and or topping. I absolutely love black owned spots so I will always visit and support but didn't leave a wow impression.

First time visitor after seeing their pics and comments on their Instagram page. The 30 minute drive was worth it. There is no parking lot, but street parking is ample enough considering people are constantly coming and going. Neighborhood looks a bit rough but we encountered no issues. I wouldn’t go after dark though. The line to order was long but moved at a decent pace. The girl taking the orders was very patient and friendly with each customer. On average, the wait time is 20-25 minutes. They will text/call you when your order is ready. The system is a bit flawed because out of 4 of us, only two of us got a text, which was not a big deal. Overall the food seems to be good no matter what you order. Portion size is decent. Food was seasoned very well. Con- when you place an order over the phone, you have to stand in the “order line” to pay. They need to utilize the pickup window for phone orders. Also, if no one is picking up an order, why can’t that window be used for ordering. I wanted to give 5 stars but some of the staff was not wearing masks or not wearing them properly. The order taker was not wearing a mask and so were a couple of other people in the kitchen area. Management needs to address that situation immediately.

Okay, So, the Plate was small portion for the price, SALMON, Broccoli, Seafood Rice. It was VERY Good. Only service from Spanish women was EXCELLENT. THE GUMBO. MR. PEEWEE CAN'T BE FROM NOLA. It's Garbage, there isn't any ROUX, Just Extremely OVER SEASONDED LIGHT BROWN WATER, WHO PUTS CRAWFISH 🙄. Your NOT supposed to see or Taste Major LUMPS Of seasoning, it actually settles to the bottom 🤔 BASICK NOLA REAL SEAFOOD Gumbo, Has REAL LUMP CRAB MEAT, SWIMMING, LARGE SHRIMP, OKRA BASE( Not heavy) REAL Almost thick ROUX. IVE Experienced 21 places here. BEST IS MOMS or wife whomever FROM HERE. Don't waste your money. BULLARD SEAFOOD ! 1st place I found SO CLOSE to authentic ! Yall! Peewee's is soooooo good! Variety of options, great prices, huge portions, and explosive flavor! I got the stuffed fish with seafood rice and crab cake. My bf got the daily special(fried fish and shrimp with who dat pasta). The wait wasn't more than 15 mins. You HAVE GOT to try them. We will definitely be coming back!

Oh my, this was yummy. My husband had this place on his food list to visit while in New Orleans and we were not disappointed. Husband ordered a crab cake and the gumbo. Wowzers, the gumbo was flavorful and a nice amount of heat. Crab cakes were delicious also. I ordered a chicken tortilla salad because was just salad hungry. Got back to our room and my salad was the seafood tacos. Can't say that I wasn't disappointed at first but one bite and I was over the salad mistake. Would definitely recommend them for some legit NOLA food.

If you don't pay attention, you'll pass this place up as it blends in with the other buildings on the street. Great place for all day donuts, or at least until 6pm as this is what I think I saw on the door. Seems like they offer other fixings as well. I saw something about a fish plate & or sandwich. BUT, I was here for donuts & that's what I wanted. For me 2 glazed twists, one chocolate glaze twist & one plain glaze twist; and for her, my niecey-poo, a glazed donut with sprinkles. The selection was varied enough for you to pick and choose what you want, so make your decision and be happy. The donuts were rich and put me in the mind of cake, specifically wedding cake. I guess it was some flavoring they put in the donuts, but whatever it was, it tasted oh so good to me. Service was swift and timely. Pricing was fair. Street parking was the call for the day. Be careful as this is a busy thoroughfare in the uptown area and cars are whizzing by as you park to exit your car. Glad to know this place is here and they serve donuts past the morning hours.

I finally was able to go for my birthday. The food was mostly good, just unexpectedly small portions for the prices and my family didn't prefer the sweetness of the crabcakes. They were out of a lot of menu options when we went and my friend waited for food for a while, but at least we got a fun game of pool in.

Me and my co-workers ordered pickup a couple of months ago and everything was superb. We decided to get delivery today, and PeeWee don't owe us NOTHING! The food is fresh, savory, and large portions. It was a delightful break from our usual lunches from home. I look forward to ordering pickup or delivery again very soon. FYI - I had the stuffed seafood potato with grilled catfish. I would love to post a picture, but I ate it already and there's nothing but a drop of sauce left.

We went all over NOLA for days looking for good eats, but kept on missing...even with places we’d been a few years ago. We needed a perfect end to our eating adventures. We ordered one of their specialty items, which offers a little taste of everything. The crab cakes were amazing! (The catfish, pasta, etc.). The Kids plowed through their catfish and chicken tenders without complaining, which is rare. Chef Peewee came out to check on us and asked us how our food was, such a nice guy! I had my first experience at the newly opened Gentility location on 9/11/2020. All of the patrons in line had nothing but rave reviews about the food. I was told EVERY menu item was worth trying; and the customers guaranteed I would not be disappointed. My Mom and sister had already been christened at the Uptown location - so I was there for the seafood potato. I must say, everything was delicious; It I did not have enough sauce, so my potato was dry. Will that stop me from getting it again? No. I know now to ask for extra sauce. Thank you PeeWee for a wonderful addition to the neighborhood.

Yesterday was my second time eating at this establishment. I got the stuffed potato and i had asked for chicken instead of fish. I took it back inside thinking they made it wrong but the girl up front simply said it is chicken ma’am. I got home and ate and other than sauce leaking out of the plate which was clearly the wrong packaging for the potato and sauce, it was the best stuffed potato I’ve ever had in my life! So flavorful, I also had broccoli and unlike other places that give you those skimpy spears or chopped up pieces, peewee’s has nice HUGE florets cooked perfectly to pure perfection! I will absolutely be eating here again!

The food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I would have given a 5 but we literally had too wait 2 1/2 hours to get a table. Which I feel is absolutely ridiculous to wait for any restaurant. But when we FINALLY got seated our food came very quickly and food was delicious. I advise this restaurant to warn future customers of the long wait and maybe invest in a bigger restaurant area. Because the food is well worth it!

The seafood stuffed potato was really good but I was not fond of the sauce, I would have preferred it on the side or not at all. Besides that the food and service was great. I really liked that they call you when your order is ready instead of having you stand around waiting to hear your number called.

The food is Amazing!!! I drove from Westwego to get it & and it was worth it!!! I would give it five stars but the young lady at the counter wasn't the friendliest considering I spent $40 on food, But.... the food was definitely cooked with love straight from the heart!! This chef is the real deal and has talent!!! It's definitely some place I feel everyone needs to try. Once you try it you're going to be hooked!!!

I'm pretty sure this place is overall 4-5 stars what I ordered today was just ok. I need to visit again and try the other items. The seafood pasta was perfect 👌🏾I'm not a crabcake person, but wanted to try it and it was good too. The bell pepper, however, was on the salty side and several pieces of crab shell was in it. I also don't love shrimp with the tail still on in my bell pepper. Potato salad was not good at all, sorry 😬

First off, the food is AMAZING! I know my NAWLINS FLAVOUR. Our order was $94 at 10:40 am. Folks when you call and you can place your order, you gonna need to pay upfront. Hold your place in line!! Their food is that GOOD

Customer service needs improvement. I waited 45 minutes for my order, there was a bunch of orders sitting on the counter and the cashier appeared to be behind in contacting customers to pick up orders. The food is always good and the owner is very nice, so I hope it gets better.

Hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve ever had! My family and I were in town and decided to stop by. I had the crab cakes, seafood rice, penne pasta, and shrimp gumbo and they were all EXTREMELY DELICIOUS! If you’re in town you should definitely try!!! OMG! The best crab cakes in the entire state of Louisiana. I am from Florida and I know a crab cake when I taste it. The stuffed lobster tail was magnificent! At first it appeared to be just a fried lobster tail. Low land behold I cut into it and crab stuffing was everywhere. Per Wee, you are definitely the bomb.

Broiled perfectly the meat was juicy and tender and hot the crabs were aldente, the shrimp for aldente, it was perfect. Perfectly seasoned spicy but not too spicy, even the corn and the smoked sausage was just perfect.

Pasta was good, but the crab cakes were way to salty! My order was incorrect after I asked more then once after looking at the screen, I was assured my order would come out correctly. Once I received my order and brought it to their attention that my order was incorrect, I was told well this is what you paid for, and it’s similar to what you ordered. Probably won’t go back!

The food was splendid and the pictures doesn't give it enough justice. The chef himself was able to meet and greet making the visit cozy. However the cashier was very unpleasant and doesn't know how to handle a large tablet. I hope no one else has to go through what I did. I'm just glad it has doordash.

The crab cakes are a nice size, full of lump crab meat, and appealing to the eyes. However, I really thought it was baked, and not fried. It was tasty but greasy/oily. I blame myself, In this health age, I assumed it really was baked. If you're into fried foods, try it and you might like it.

I stopped here after work to try some crabcakes. Got the crab cake poboy and some seafood gumbo. The poboy was quite tasty. About 7 or 8 inches. And came with a small order of fries. The seafood gumbo is filled with shrimp and crawfish and other seafood. A little spicy. You may have to wait about 25 minutes for your order but worth it. No tables, so you get it to go. No AC inside.

I ordered the soft-shelled crab and an order of gumbo. The young lady asked what my two sides were and charged me for them. When you are asked this that usually means the sides come with, right? No. She charged me for something I didn’t ask for. When I called back to clarify the manager/owner stated that I was supposed to be specific and say no sides.
