Reviews of Oceana Grill
Jermina Johnson
My son and I had to try this place while visiting. My son had the duck and he loved it. The skin was crispy and meat tender and juicy. The gumbo was so good and the gator bites were tender and season well. I loved this place. I enjoyed the taste of New Orleans dish and yes the crab cakes are to rave about. Great customer service and fast n hot food.

Loved their food and drinks. We stood in line for about 30mins to get into this place on a Saturday evening and it was definitely worth it. The sauce on the crab cake was our favorite. The oysters were outstanding and show why NOLA is known for it. The Po boy was a bit dry but the chicken was super flavorful and juicy. We really enjoyed the drinks as well.

This was our first time. The staff and Manger was friendly. The food was good. The drinks were amazing. We came back every day during out trip for drinks. One of the best spots off of Bourbon Street. The gumbo needs work.

The long line on the sidewalk can be deceiving. I still don't know how it moved so quickly. We started with gator bites and crab cakes. Both were great. I had the Cajun pasta and it was hearty with strong flavor. Everything is fresh. I was afraid this was a tourist trap but it is genuinely delicious.

Let's start with you're eating on Bourbon Street so you have like this dirty feel with the smell of the streets. The good part about is the service was quick and the servers were very inviting. We got our food fairly quickly and the food tasted good. I ordered the blackened chicken breast, garlic mashed potatoes, and this nice Mexican corn. The food was hot and delicious. My husband ordered shrimp Creole, which was also good, but they only offer a scoop of rice. With more rice, it would have been a nice dish.
I would go back for the food if it were in a different location!

Typically a very busy French Quarter restaurant with great Cajun cuisine at fair prices(relative to the area). The first time we tried it the line was well into the street so we waited till the next afternoon and found the line much shorter, we were seated immediately. The service was great although a little slow at first. Food came out quickly and was fabulous, the BBQ shrimp was rich and very flavorful and I recommend it. Atmosphere is good and there are lots of TVs for any sporting events happening. I would recommend it if you would like to eat in the French Quarter.

When I first saw this place, I really thought that it is overrated but I was completely wrong. This place definitely deserves a 5-star review.
It looks small from the outside but it is spacious. Service is very fast, staffs are friendly and helpful.
Their food is absolutely tasty! We ordered Blackened Catfish plate and Oceana Chargrilled Oysters. There are lots of options that you can choose from, and all of them look amazing.
I highly recommended this place for seafood. They also open very late so you can stop by for some late night food.

Very good food, and the service was pretty good too. I highly recommend the Blackened Gator. The crab cakes and their "taste of New Orleans" were also really good menu items. Very flavorful red beans and rice. Would recommend if you're visiting the N.O. and searching for a place to try delicious local cuisine.

Service was impeccable, atmosphere delightful, and food was to die for. (Not a big oyster fan but it was for a special occasion, so I did it. We ate oysters at 3 different places, and this by far, was the most delicious.)
Went for an oyster day and ended up coming back twice. The second time we were in a rush and they were able to deliver the food in an exceptionally small time frame. We even ordered food to go and honestly, it was the best packaging I have seen in a long time.
I can't say enough good about this place but if you have time, go.
Gabi
Everything here was absolutely delicious. I recommend the Shrimp Creole. This was my favorite dish out of everything I ate on my recent trip to New Orleans.
Definitely recommend this place, especially if it's your first time in New Orleans. Be mindful of long waiting times...plan accordingly.

I don't know what kind of voodoo magic they do in the kitchen. My god their red fish and shrimp yaya fettuccine Alfredo pasta is a must try!! The place is clean and well maintained. Friendly and professional staff. Good food good quantity and quality. Highly recommend this spot in new Orleans. The spinach artichoke dip and crab cake is also really good.
Shayan Joobbani
Seafood pasta and blackened fish platter are incredible. The crab cakes are FANTASTIC and I will definitely be back for them. Staff is very friendly and respectful. This place is run incredibly well and very clean. Highly recommended.

Our experience here was great. Food was absolutely delicious. I still can’t get over their redfish and shrimp ya ya pasta. The spinach artichoke dip was amazing too. I loved everything about the restaurant the food the service quality and quality of food. The wait is long during the day but after 9 the line moves pretty fast we were inline for just 10 minutes before being seated.
Stacy Kline
Phenomenal and authentic New Orleans seafood restaurant with exquisite meals served up by an exceptionally accommodating staff! Not to be missed! Don't be intimidated by the line, it moves quickly or grab a seat at the bar.

This place is excellent!! Not only is their food amazing, but the staff is as well. I honestly do not know how they put up with all the people that come in and are super drunk and high. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their food and drinks. We sat at the bar and Ron was our amazing bartender! He we the ONLY bartender for the entire restaurant and bar, and he was slammed. Not only was he able to keep up with the drinks for the restaurant, but also for us at the bar. He was extremely personable and really made our experience enjoyable.
The food was fantastic, since I had a shellfish allergy, I ordered the chicken Alfredo. Do not let this dish fool you, the pasta is handmade and the chicken literally melts in your mouth. The sauce is super tasty and has a hint of spice to it, I HIGHLY recommend this dish. My husband order the fish dish (I believe it was called the red fin oceana) he asked for the sauce on the side so I could try the fish. (The sauce has crayfish and mushroom) he stated the sauce was amazing. The fish was cooked extremely well and was really flavorful. The mashed potatoes was good, but unfortunately cold. We also ordered the red beans and rice with sausage. Again another fantastic dish, the sausage was a bit too salty for me, but when it was mixed into the rice and beans, it was delicious!
We had the banana bread and chocolate kahlua mouse cake. The banana bread blew us away, it comes out fresh and hot and is to die for. Personally the Mousse cake was a bit to rich for us, but again, it was great!! I also had a root beer float which was great!
I can not tell you how amazing the food and service is. It is well worth the wait outside if you can’t make reservations, the hostess is extremely quick in getting you seated, I believe the longest anyone waited was 20/25 minutes. If you only have one meal in New Orleans, I would definitely recommend it be this one!
Kyle D
We sat at the bar - still good dining experience. Bread pudding is good - save room for dessert and when asked to add ice cream, say yes! Had the loaded French fries and alligator bite combo (saves $7). The Taste of New Orleans special wasn’t too appealing - I’d go for something else if I came back.

This place never disappoints. Always a favorite go to for breakfast. Matter of fact, dinner is spot on too. I ordered BBQ shrimp and grits. Seasoned perfectly with homemade biscuits. Goodness.....I couldn't finish the plate! The server was very pleasant as she recommended the entrée. Every time I visit, NOLA...I must come here!

Wow. Just wow. Not only does this place have killer atmosphere, but the food and the drinks are amazing! We enjoyed their Jambalaya pasta and the taste of New Orleans; both are fantastic. I cannot stress how great the service and experience is! If you're traveling to the French Quarter, this place is a highlight of the entire deal, located just off of Bourbon street, its a must for anyone.

I wish there were more stars to select for this review! Oceana Grill is spectacular and I'll definitely return. I first visited last August with crew mates on a layover. As fate would have it, my husband and I were staying in a hotel in the French Quarter called Hotel St Marie last week and I asked the concierge for a dinner recommendation. Oceana was the immediate answer! Off we went... and then I realized I had been there before on the recommendation of our layover hotel (which I can't disclose).
Damon served us and he was wonderful! He treated us like we were old friends. His warmth and hospitality set us immediately at ease and we had a wonderful dinner. The hurricanes were the ABSOLUTE coolest I've ever had. I asked for light rum in mine and I'm pleased to say it was just perfect. The food... every single bite of it... was perfection!
Alyssa K
The soft shell crabs and famous Oceana oysters were some of the best things I ate mg whole trip. Our waitress, Eugenia, was incredibly friendly and attentive despite how busy the restaurant. This place is a must! Our tour guide and hotel concierge both recommended this restaurant and we’re so glad they did!
Colleen Gutierrez
Wow the food menu was creative and had lots of delicious food to choose from! Creole seafood omelette, the taste of Louisiana, even the flap jacks and scrumptious biscuits all taste amazing! Friendly and professional staff. Love the old world brick atmosphere with the floor to ceiling wine boxes. My family and I loved everything about this wonderful restaurant. We hope to be back soon!
Suzanne Miladin
Excellent New Orleans menu! I had the Crab Cakes appetizer and it was plenty for a dinner. Absolutely delicious with their sauce on it. We all shared a Rum Bread Pudding and it was wonderful! Reservations recommended, the line without a reservation was impressive!
Bob Smith
Some of the BEST fried oysters I've had and I've had millions! No kidding. Also excellent were the alligator bites and soft shell crab! My new favorite place in the Big Easy!
Ted Gautsch
A place that is apparently highly coveted by the locals and once appeared on kitchen nightmares, is a must try for me. Oceana Grill has been recognized for its excellence. It is now "an award-winning seafood restaurant for tourists and locals alike!
Located in the heart of New Orleans at the corner of Bourbon and Conti Streets, Creole and Louisiana cuisine are their specialties. It has been said they also serve the best crab cakes and gumbo in the French Quarter, good thing I am at least a fan of Gumbo since I don't care much for seafood.
If you have ever waited in line for a show on Broadway, you will feel right at home waiting for a table here. They do have a good-sized bar in the front, which is first come first serve, a good option when a spot or two opens and you prefer not to wait in line, cheat time and jump on it.
The drinks match the food, especially the old fashioned, and each one is made with a certain amount of creativity, they come in hot and foaming at the top! Fortunately for me the Taste Of New Orleans can be ordered minus the crawfish etouffée, I didn't hesitate to double up on the red beans and rice with smoked sausage instead, excellent choice.
In the past I was never a fan of sitting at the bar, but in this fast and furious environment, they are the best seats in the house. So, "when in NOLA", indulge in the Creole cuisine, Cajun cuisine, and soul food!
Cheers!

NOLA is filled with great spots to eat and drink. I stopped at Oceana Grill after flying in and though the food was average, the servers and bartenders make the experience a bit better. The staff was friendly and patient. Nothing to complain about and a decent place to stop for non fussy food and friendly NOLA people.
Danielle Dauffenbach
Every. Single. Thing that we ordered was amazing. The wait wasn't bad at all on a Wednesday at around 1pm, we waited about 20 minutes.
A friend suggested we get the Alfredo sauce. It is great. We ordered it as a side with noodles.
Other than that we stuck with the taste of New Orleans and crab cakes and gumbo. Not so fancy you feel that you have to dress up, and not too expensive, so you can buy souvenirs for folks at home.
Everything was so delicious we didn't need to order dessert however all the desserts looked delicious.
Yummmmm

I got right in for lunch and the atmosphere is cute. Server was friendly and professional. Best Bloody Mary I’ve ever had!! I got the Cajun Fries and they were delicious but could have served 4. The fried shrimp (I got a side because I didn’t realize how big the fries would be) were good.
prettypink jane23
Totally must-have in new orleans! I was so lost just walking around canal street and finally talked to 2 gentleman who's security guards at one hotel and asked what the best gumbo restaurant they will recommend and said Oceania.. So, i google it and tried it. Ambiance is fantastic, foods were delish, servers were so nice. It was totally nice experience. 👍👍👍
Rajesh Kumar
They have really good food… but you have to wait to be seated… the. Service was fast and staff was very friendly…. The best part was food look and taste amazing… definitely come back…

We were in New Orleans for 3 days and we ended up coming here twice! Great food, great service, the food comes out quickly and it is well priced too.
I had the Louisiana Crab Meat Cakes, Oceana's Famous Oysters, the Taste of New Orleans, the special ‘Stuffed Salomon’, and Cajun Jambalaya Pasta.
Everything was so good!
If you are only going their once, I would recommend getting the Crab Meat Cakes for Appetizer and Either Taste of New Orleans or Stuffed Salmon for entree.
Jennifer Wu
My husband and I came here for lunch one day after reading the great reviews. The wait wasn’t very long. We waited about 10-15 mins and were able to be seated. The staff was very nice and friendly. The drinks were fantastic. The food was delicious, especially the crab cakes. The only reason why I’m not giving this place five stars is because of the char grilled oysters. They were very small and in one of the oyster shells, I didn’t even find the actual oysters. Other than that, everything else was great.
Tony Ellis
This place did not disappoint. The food selections (Fried Seafood Platter & 2 crab cakes) I had were all Fantastic!! My favorite would be the crab cakes. The staff was very attentive and accommodating to all these I could've wanted/needed during my visit. Highly recommended 👌
Nan T B
Very nice service. Very busy. Wear your sunscreen and a hat when you wait for a line for dinner. You will face right straight at the sun and it can be up to two hours.
We made reservation and still have to wait (as common in NOLA) for 30 minutes. My creole was borderline over-salted. Oysters size were small (probably due to its kind) and sandy.
Patricia Ryland
I can’t say enough of this place! The food is absolutely amazing and the drinks are just as good. I love the touch of the dry ice on it and they made my day extra special by surprising me with the amazing apple bread pudding and Carmel sauce. Our waiter Fiona made my dinner absolutely amazing so make sure you ask for her!
Growth Foundry
This place is small but had a nice outdoor seating area. The weather was nice so we took advantage of that. One of the people at my table ordered the Oysters Rockefeller and said they were very good. I ordered a blackened chicken po'boy sandwich, which was my first time having a po'boy, and it was excellent. Also had the bourbon pecan pie which was very good too.
Melanie Clark
We ate here while awaiting a cruise. Asked several locals at the hotel and they suggested Oceana Grill. For an appetizer we ordered the spinach dip. It has to be some of the best I’ve ever had. I ordered the red beans and rice. It was wonderful! I highly recommend. Hubs had the Oceana special chargrilled oysters, Étouffée and crawdad tails. He loved it. Son had the fried seafood platter with fish and shrimp and oysters. Also, gator bites. Everything was great. We had great service and beautiful old French quarter architecture. Highly recommend.
Hannah C.
Daniel was amazing, the food was amazing, and the drinks were bubbling! This was our first stop here in NOLA and it did not disappoint. I had the blackened shrimp poboy 🤤 and it was so good. My sister got the Alfredo, and the eggplant fries and those were both good as well. We will definitely be back.
Chris Lee
This was another great NOLA experience right off of Bourbon St. The food was great and our server Shawhan was outstanding. All of the staff eere great and the restaurant was clean as well as the restrooms. The prices were very reasonable especially for that area. We will definitely go there again.
A Miruru
The wait to come in was long. Was told it would be a 20 mins wait but ended up 40mins +. The inside was also rather crammed with small tables. The food was okay. There are definitely places with better fried items. The Mardi gras pasta was our favourite. The saddest food item was definitely the grilled oyster..... thank god we only ordered half a dozen because there was soooo little meat on each of the shell that i barely tasted the oyster..... really really not worth it. You might as well just drink the sauce and order some bread. For the oysters, go to acme oyster house instead. Trust me.

A lot of the restaurants in the quarter are only open Thursday- Sunday right now. We were heading to a place that someone recommended when we realized it was closed and stumbled upon this place. It had good reviews so 💁🏾♀️.We ordered blackened gator bites, seafood gumbo, mustard greens, and a catfish po'boy. The gator bites were excellent. The gumbo lacked spice, no heat on it at all 🥲. I will say, there was a lot of shrimp in the gumbo, not as much crab, but if you like shrimp, you'll get your fill. The mustard greens were very good, perfect texture and seasoned very well. I mixed them into the gumbo for some added flavor. The catfish po'boy was a HUGE disappointment. The catfish didn't have any flavor at all. It was NOT seasoned. Louisiana is known for its catfish so that was a major let down. We gave the entire sandwich away to a homeless gentleman. The portion sizes were large. We could have definitely done with just the gator bites and the gumbo and there were two of us sharing everything. I wouldn't go back and don't recommend it, unless you prefer bland food (which I know some folks do).
Justin Russell
The food here was good, just pricey for what you get. I had the shrimp appetizer, and it was flavorful! The staff was also very attentive and quick! As long as you don't mind paying a premium for dinner, it's a great spot.
Michele Smith
Food and service was great. We ordered the crab cakes dinner and the duck dinner. Crab cakes were loaded with crab meat and the duck was cooked perfectly. Both dishes were very filling and delicious. I think we're going to try their breakfast be we leave.
Meanchey Abi
The food was good but I had better Cajun before. I had turtle soup for appetizer and I was disappointed. The service was not too friendly, I guess she must’ve tables that didn’t tipped well. She had a big smile after we left.
Adam H
Good appetizers and main courses. Desserts were just alright. Service friendly but on the slower side the night we were there. Highlight of the dinner for us was the Hurricanes! Definitely worth a stop!
Franchesca M
The restaurant is big with different area for sitting. The server was nice and attentive and made some really good recommendations. My only wish was that the oyster was actually grilled and not boil.. the sauce was really good but too much.
Phillip Mills
If you’re looking for a great atmosphere with excellent service and food then look no further.
I cannot say enough good things about this establishment. To begin, the atmosphere was great, the service is hands down the best and the food was excellent.
Our waiter was very attentive to the point to where I went to take the final sip of my drink and my cup was in the hands of our waiter who was on his way back from refilling. I didn’t even see him grab it.
The food was out of this world. I had the Cajun pasta and the only thing that was wrong was that I couldn’t finish it all. It was loaded with flavor and it was hard to stop eating it. My co worker had the catfish platter and he said it was one of the best he’s ever tasted, and the crab cakes were just wow. I’m not usually a crab cake fan because they are usually a lot of filler with a hint of crab. I think these were a lot of crab with a hint of filler.
The customer service was so good to the point that I forgot to grab my receipt for expenses and I called back and with no hesitation or complaining they got my info and emailed it within 10 minutes. Now that’s what you call excellent customer service.
Simon Zio
Wow this place lives up to its hype. We were a bit skeptical as the place is in the most touristy part of the town but it didn’t disappoint. The food was great and the whole experience felt amazing. 10/10 would recommend and visit again!
Cris Bee
Outside patio is beautiful at night! Really great food as well. They have a couple of vegetarian options which is nice. I got the hurricane cocktail, and it was a bit too sweet. My grandpa got the fish and said it was delicious.
L Garcia
A fun, clean atmosphere with DELISH FOOD! The crab cakes are a must try, packed w so much flavor! Service was AMAZING and attentive with great recommendations to try! Wish I would have taken more pics but we couldn't help but dig in. Going back to try other tempting plates when we hit up NOLA again 😍😋
Edwin Barron
I just had my second, AMAZING dinner at Oceana Grill (the first one was years ago, and they still "got it"). The food was perfect!!! Service was top notch and the ambiance was great. I can't recommend this place strongly enough!!! Don't miss out!
joyride4324
The gumbo has great flavor but a bit salty for my taste. The building is fantastic, the courtyard was a nice reprieve from the busy streets on bourbon, and the hurricane in the souvenir cup with the dry ice was really fun!
Kelly Klaes
We actually ate here once several years ago and it was amazing. On a recent visit back to Bourbon street we decided we needed to again. Didn’t disappoint and the staff was friendly. The soft shell crab was a 10/10!
Liz Deutermann
The vibe is pleasant, the staff is lovely, and the food is to *die* for. Went with a group and over-ordered-- the house oysters are delicious (and the only thing I managed to finish), the blackened duck and two sides, and the extra side of fettucine alfredo came home with us and made for two more meals. Had a local beer on the side. We were there in December and the experience of enjoying a lovely meal in a well-appointed outdoor courtyard when back East it was snowing only added to the evening. Looking forward to my next visit!
Tonja Horton
This is my 2nd time eating here, but it was much better than the 1st time. It's located on Bourbon Street on a corner. Everyone stated their food was wonderful and the mustard greens were perfect. The service was fast and professional.
Jon Pugeda
We got take out around 8PM and the food was delivered fairly quickly. Food was still warm when we got it. We got Shrimp Po’boys, Spinach Dip, Jambalaya, and a slice of pecan pie. Fries that came with the sandwiches were still crispy and also went well with the spinach dip. That seafood jambalaya is some of the best I’ve ever had. We were actually told by locals to hit this place for brunch so next time we’re in NOLA it’s on my list of places to eat.
GG Gonzalez
We went there for a late dinner after a Great Win of my Grandson's Boxing Match. We were all in the mood for some good Oysters Rockefeller and let me just say, "THEY DIDN'T DISAPPOINT!" they were cooked to perfection. We also ordered Shrimp Creole and Mardi Gras Pasta it was so delicious. I wouldn't order the PoBoy Burger, the meat wasn't that good, tasted like it sat under a heat lamp. Looked better than it tasted.
The Service was good and it had a very cool Atmosphere. I will go back on my next visit.
Chelsea Martinez
One of the best meals we had in New Orleans and well worth the wait. Thier alligator was super delightful and our entrées were just as delicous. The server was super helpful with my pork allergy and suggesting things on the menu. Great food and great service.
Heath Joiner
She had the Oceana Redfish signature dish and I had the Taste of New Orleans. Both were great! The staff were attentive and entertaining as well. We can't wait to visit again. Thanks!
Megan Haran
Do NOT skip the shrimp and grits, French toast and seafood omlette!!! Honestly will NEVER go to NOLA and NOT stop here. Went twice on a 5 day visit! Great place!! Our waitress even remembered us!
Cece C
Overall we had a good experience and the food was good !! Drinks were the star of the show. ⭐️
The not so good:
Minus one star because the half dozen oysters we got were really underwhelming - flavorless and very small. The sauataed veggies was basically just corn in a sauce- so if you don’t like that try to substitute for something else.
The good:
We got the oceana fish and the duck - both really delicious with good quality main ingredients (fish/duck). We got doubles of our drinks (18$ish Vs. The regular 12$) which were very strong and came with a cute souvenir cup! Our waitress was Ashley and she was very kind and attentive during our time.
Bethany Spitzmiller
Pretty tasty overall, soft shell crab was a little fishy in the middle. Oysters were good, seafood platters have good portions, blacked chicken had a lot of seasoning, almost too much.
Brian Mercer
Great seafood place near all the action in NOLA! Quite the variety of seafood fried and cajun style. Recommend the crab cakes with crawdad gravy and the fried shrimp platter. Added a local pilsner too to wash it down. Staff was friendly and the food was ready quickly. Get here early or expect to wait, but still worth it.
Mark Rozek
We returned here after a visit in 2020. Dinner was excellent again, inclusive of food quality, drinks, ambiance and friendliness of staff. The redfish with mushroom crawfish cream sauce was superb.
Amanda (TravelTokWithAmanda)
We got oysters (both the Oceana’s famous & the Oysters Rockefeller) they were pretty good & flavorful. We also got the Cajun shrimp fettuccine Alfredo - shrimp tasted a little weird. Staff was awesome! Loved the ambiance of the outdoor court yard! Good music & vibe!
Keenan Hartman
Was a good experience and we loved the environment as well. The server was very quick with water and our drinks as well as our food. The oysters was phenomenal and our poboys were great too. Definitely a fun stop in the French Quarter
Bailey Alexander
This was a very tasty and delicious restaurant! Lots of unique food items of New Orleans! The line was very long each day we was here but it was so worth the wait! The food was delicious! They have a speciality drink with dry ice and I highly recommend you try it so cool to watch it bubble and steam as you drink it! All the staff was friendly and recommended top food items!
Lauren Vaughan
Came back to Oceana on this last trip and I'm so pleased to say that we still love it! I had the redfish again and it was perfect. Our friends had the Cajun Chicken Alfredo Pasta, the Shrimp Platter, and a couple of other things and all were great. Lionel was our server and he was on point.
We went on a Saturday (Labor Day weekend) and there was a little bit of a weight but nothing terrible and it was worth it!
Paige Young
In the mist of St. Patty’s celebration and dinner time, we were able to get a table for a party of 9 in less than 30 minutes, impressive!! David, our waiter, was excellent and he had wonderful menu recommendations. Overall the staff was great, service was fantastic and food was delicious! Highly recommend!!
Sandi Jackson
The hostess sat me quickly, even during the festival. I thought I would have a wait. My waitress was attentive. I ordered the spinach dip appetizer, the fried cstfish platter/fries/jalapeños hush puppies. It did not disappoint. I left with so much food left over.
Lynn Jaynes
A real Tastebud delight, I had Red Beans and rice! Oysters and crawfish, Delicious, I highly recommend! Look for the Saints Super Bowl Trophy! Josh at the Bar was the Best! I’ll be back. Lynn
Linda Salas
Wow I love the Oceana famous oysters and Seafood Gumbo. Must try, atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing. Our server is very friendly and knowledgeable about menu.
Cody Cox
Upon arrival I was greeted at the door by great staff directed where I needed to go. I ordered a to go order but I got a personal tour of the restaurant and the dining areas are plentiful. There is a outdoor patio and multiple levels or different sizes of dining area some private other more open. Tom was a great host and the bartender made a mean drink. Thank you for a great experience
Kaitlin Robinson
There was a line to get in, but it moved at a good pace. We were seated outside and it was so cute! Our server was a great guy and so friendly! Our food was great! They had really good drinks and would recommend getting a bloody and basil strawberry margarita.
Jay Chen
One of the best stops for trying out Cajun cuisine in New Orleans - their gumbos were particularly tasty and affordable. Seafood options were expansive and fresh too.

This place was great! Had a Cajun Kool aid. It was so yummy but I had a hurricane just before this so I was a little tipsy coming out of the restaurant! Dangerously good drink. I had the alligator bites for an appetizer. They are a little chewy but good. They do not taste like chicken! I got the deep fried and the dipping sauce was very good. Followed up with the taste of new orleans. 3 portions of red beans and rice, seafood etoufee, and jambalaya. I didn't like the red beans but I don't generally like beans but I was in NOLA so I tried them. The seafood etoufee was spectacular and the jambalaya was pretty good. Would definitely go back for the etoufee and the Cajun Kool aid:)

Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. I had the chicken fettuccine and my friend had the blackened ribeye. We also tried the bread pudding and that was the best bread pudding we ever tried. We went back the following day just to get the bread pudding one more time before we flew back home.
Madhuri Srinivasan
Great great food and service. Absolutely delightful. A must try on Bourbon Street!!!! Give their Bloody Mary a try. They never never have gone wrong with the taste. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu.
Tiffany Chadwick
Barbecue shrimp and etoufe was amazing. Nice portions. Drinks were delicious Gumbo could have been a little spicier
Kevin Ao
One of the best meals I ever had. The Cajun food is so good I could die happy after eating it. The delicious bread pudding is warm and drizzled with rum sauce. The crab cakes are so good it’s ridiculous. I highly recommend coming if you craving some delicious Cajun food.
Jamele Lawrence
Oceana Grill was an experience I think all tourists should go out if their way to try. At first glance the place may seem like a hole-in-the-wall establishment but I assure you it is NOT! The food is great, the vibe is there and if you don't know what to get when you get there please ask for the Taste of New Orleans. 5-Stars Indeed!
Venkata Krishna Garlapati
Oceana is one of the best seafood places in NOLA.
This place is busy and it is first come first serve, better to avoid personal car we will not get parking easily at surrounding areas due to the location. Location in FrenchQuarter and bourbon street. Uber / Lyft is perfect choice to this place.
Ordered Gator Tail Bites, chicken popboys, Taste of NOLA, Cajun jambalaya pasta, ice cream pop boy & la Boheme crème brûlée. Food service is fast and hygiene, food taste is up to mark.
Limited space due to covid & snow.
Sarah Yip
Oceans Grill tastes pretty great! The oysters are super zingy and tasty! I also enjoyed my “Taste of New Orleans” dish. The service is excellent and the employees are all super kind!
Cristina
I ordered BBQ shrimp and Cajun fries. Being honest the fries is too much for one person but I was alone. Great flavors.
Johnny Williams
Oceana Grill was everything we heard and more! Absolutely delicious food, a wide range of drink selections and top notch service made for a truly enjoyable meal. If you are in the area, this is a must!
Nick Smith
Amazing! The service was awesome, the people were great, the food was inspiring! I will go back! We loved it!!!! Its the French quarter, fabulous. The cheesy oysters were sooooo good!
Mattlan Ladner
People really claimed this restaurant wasn’t another French Quarter tourist trap, but as a local, I’d have to disagree. The food just didn’t seem fresh. The cocktails were fun though!
N C
May 2022. Was average, which is disappointing given the line our the front. None of the dishes were exceptional, but none were bad. We had a group of 11 so we ordered a lot. Shrimp in sauce was the best dish. Ribs decent. Fried gator decent. Crab cakes and oysters not so good. Cocktails and service were below average. The server was super friendly but made so many mistakes. Another server for another table dropped a tray of food...
Lori Broughton
Great place to go for a lunch in their courtyard area! Crawfish etouffee with added fried crawfish is a great choice! Fried crawfish salad is perfect for a light lunch on a hot day! Great staff! Be prepared that often there is a long line out the door if you don't get there early enough.
Katrina Ferguson
Came here to celebrate my 30th bday and everything was perfect. The server, (Damon) was extremely attentive and showed me so much love for my birthday. & the food was breathtakingly delicious! What a great way to end the night! Amazing environment, I will definitely be back again.
Raquel Ferrell
Great place!!! The atmosphere was great our server was amazing it was only his third day but you couldn't tell he had a great attitude interacted with us and waited until we were done to bring our Togo plate. The food was amazing I definitely recommend the duck and the crab cakes!!!!
Cruz It
Food was excellent we tried, red fish oceana, blackened bayou duck, and new Orleans fries. It fell together nicely flavored were perfect.
Narria Rice
The vibe was good. However, the service was below standard and the food looks better than it tastes. Not worth $80! Don't let the 10% off coupon drag you in lol.
Thomas Hollis
Great food and service. Food came out 5 minutes after we ordered and was steaming hot.
Nicolette Tech (Nikita)
A friend gave us a gift card to try this restaurant out because it was her favorite and so we decided to go for a brunch Saturday morning post Friday night out. To my delight, plenty of hangover food options. For starters, their specialty Bloody Mary is toppling with snacks and worth trying if you are a bloody lover. It is it’s own appetizer with the amount of food that comes on it. There are so many seafood options that we where a bit overwhelmed so we opted for a few and shared them all to try between 3 people. We ended up bringing a lot of food home so the portions are big. They have a cute outdoor space but their indoor also has a nice sports bar & brick vibe to it. Our server, Errol, was really great in that he was attentive especially with refilling our beverages but also making us feel at home with his personable attitude. Can’t wait to come back and try more food and drink options when I am functional at my fullest!
Sheri Lucas
This restaurant was recommended to us from a local store owner. We tried gator tots for the first time and we all enjoyed them even the kids! We ordered the catfish Po Boy, Chicken Caesar, Blackened chicken and one other dish. They were all very tasty!
The staff were so friendly and the restaurant very clean!
Kent Evans
An amazing dining experience. Our server Tasha was phenomenal and very professional. Chef Adams will astonish your palate during your visit. Thank to the manager Keisha also
Darin Jensen
Great Creole food and atmosphere just off Bourbon Street. Rob makes a great Sazerac and directed us to the fried duck but changed up for the collard greens and red beans and rice. Awesome. The duck was crispy outside and tender inside. Worth the wait but... if it's just two of you, look for an opening at the bar and drop in with no wait. Oh, and go M-Th cuz Rob doesn't work weekends...
Daphne Brown
Great place to eat in New Orleans. I had the Oceana’s chargrilled oysters (choose from 1/2 or 1 pound), flavored with a zesty Cajun cream sauce with a blend of Romano and Parmesan cheeses. The garlic cheese fries and garlic mashed potatoes are good side dishes. I would recommend this place when you are in New Orleans.
Ryan Parker
Awesome dinner last night!! Damon was one of the best waiters I’ve had in a very long time. He treated my wife and I plus my dog like family!!
Sco Bee
Located in French Quarters which was perfect for a midday outing on a Monday not too much traffic. No long waits. Waitress was Tasha she was awesome. We enjoyed our good overall. Had Fried and Gator Crabcakes for starters. Mardi Gras Pasta and Redfish special. My redfish was a little overcooked but still enjoyable. Drinks and meal plus tip 193.00.
Whitney Brown
One of the best resturants that I have been to in New Orleans. One of the locals told me that when ever you come to New Orleans this is a popular spot to go to. He was right I have been here everytime I go to New Orleans and my experience gets better and better. The staff is so welcoming and inviting. The lemon drop martini is a must try and a favorite of mine. The gumbo was the best I have tried in New Orleans thus far and they give you a decent size portion. Full of flavor and authentic. The best part for me was the Po Boy. Now hands down that is the best Po Boy I have ever tried. I had the fried shrimp, fried oyster and fried catfish Po Boy that was everthing!!! Jazz up the fries with the cajun fries it's on a whole different level pace yourself those fries are so good!!!! It all paired so well together and was absolutely so good. I would recommend coming here as you won't regret it. I absolutely love Oceana Grill!!! & you will too trust me!!!
Stephen “Bigdawg SBL” Lennon
We're to start awesome waiter make sure u see Justin..food to drinks and the service was awesome.. atmosphere was overwhelmed make you feel at home.. keep up the awesome work..we'll be returning when I revisit next year...ty Oceana Grill.
G Robbins
Taneesha was our waitress. She did an excellent job she was very attentive to our family of nine.
The food was amazing. The portions are large.
Everyone was friendly. They excited our expectations.
Alvin H
A coworker suggested to visit this establishment while in town so here I am. Ordered a double shot of Tropical Storm cocktail, it was good but you could barely taste the alcohol. It took a while for my Fried Shrimp Po Boy to come out. When it arrived my fries were good, but the French bread on the Po Boy was tough on one end.
Kinna U (Worldwide)
The food wasn't bad, but I don't think that they were prepared to handle our party of 15. A lot of our food was cold and hard when we finally got it. I think it would have been a lot better if we were in a smaller party. The appetizers that came out in the beginning were really good. I don't know their staffing situation but it would have been better if we had 2 servers. The manager was really nice and didn't hesitate to try and fix our problems. Our server (Logan) was nice and really good but he was just a little overwhelmed. I will definitely go back because the food was not bad they just weren't prepared for our big party.
Angela Johnson
The best crab cakes I’ve ever had and the crawfish etouffe is so so delicious. I would love this restaurant at home in Ohio. Love it❤️
Gosia Qasim
In my opinion this is the best spot in French Quarter if you really want to enjoy the food. Everything is really delicious and fresh and the staff is super friendly and makes you feel welcome. Will definitely come here again when back to NOLA.
Scott Miller
The food was absolutely amazing!! Great customer service, from the host to the waitress, all around great staff!!
Melissa Coris
The food was amazing! The Cajun chicken Alfredo was the bomb. We also had the grill gator, oysters, and shrimp Alfredo. Service was great! Will definitely come back again
Chioma O
Really yummy drinks! Jambalaya pasta was amazing! Drinks were delciious..service was so great! Loved it all!
Dannille Freshour
The crab cakes were to die for and the ribs are truly fall off the bone tender. The food was so flavorful! The wait staff was so friendly and attentive. They also make some great cocktails!
Kristi Ballew
Great wait staff, fantastic food, and drinks were wonderful. We ordered the loaded fries appetizer and it was unbelievably good. Our drinks were fairly strong and came with dried ice to give the smoking effect. Tables were a bit small, but otherwise, our visit was superb. We'll be back for sure.
Amanda Herring
Absolutely amazing food!!! We got delivery. Even with delivery, it was amazing. Would go back again and again!! Best food we had on vacation and the jumbalaya was out of this world!!
Java “Coffee” Starks
Great spot for a good meal. Be prepared to wait but it’s worth it! Waiter friendly and fast!
Food 10/10
Drinks 10/10
Jermaine Tyner
Food was really good. Very large place. We ate in the 3rd floor bar area. It was very nice with lots of screens!
Steph L
Ate here twice during our visit to NOLA and fell in love both visits. Fun atmosphere, excellent service and must mention a few names - Justin, Tom, Angela, y'all made us feel truly valued with your hospitality! And of course the food was to die for! We had the crawfish etouffee, Mardi Gras pasta, St James crepe and dessert crepe. GO TO OCEANA!!
Ayon Ibrahim
Fairly pricey but that's to be expected from the area. The gator bites were not bad but a bit dry and bbq shrimp was pretty disappointing. Tasty cocktail, though.
Julie Bryant
This was so good I ate here twice. Once for breakfast, once for lunch. The taste or New Orleans with fried crawfish tails was bold and the spices were on point. The courtyard was a nice place to sit.
ZAAKYIA MCCLENDON
Wait Time Is About 2 hrs But The Food Was Amazing...It's Worth The Wait..My Bridal Group And I Enjoyed‼️If You Looking For A Nice Seafood Spot In French Quarter Then Look No Further... Highly Recommend ‼️
Harvey Schonfeld
We went in about 2.30pm and it was quiet. We were able to sit out in the courtyard so no air-conditioning thank goodness. We had the selection of local dishes with a salad. Very good food and pleasant staff. I can understand why this place gets good reviews.
The Jamie
Literally the best food I have ever had at a restaurant. All 3 courses plus drinks. BEST FOOD IN NOLA!
Sanette Zietsman
What a wonderful experience! It involved all the senses, it smelled delicious, the colors were vibrant and alive and the food tasted like you cannot describe!
Mofan Sanderson
Highly recommend the cat fish, cooked to perfection. Oysters are great too. The bread pudding is a must! Absolutely amazing!
Shannon J
Best bread pudding in French Quarter! The red fish special was amazing, too. Crayfish etouffe is dope.
Faith O'Donnell
It’s a good restaurant, with attentive staff, and good food. I wouldn’t say it’s the best I’ve had, but definitely not bad at all. The crab cakes are amazing!
KHRISS ANNIIAA
This Place Is Overrated‼️But Then We Had The Best Waiter Damon He Was Pretty Knowledgeable About The Stuffs And He Recommend Alot Of Good Stuffs We Tried … All The Food Was Room Temperatures I Didn’t Like Bcz I like My Food Hot And Steamy …. The Fry Shrimp Po’boy (9/10) New Orleans Style(3/10) Seafood Gumbo (10/10) Crab Cakes (7/10) The Dr Pepper Was Literally Water 🤷🏽♀️ Overall The Place Was Somewhat Clean And The Bathroom Forget It ‼️
Melissa Zindell
It was late and we were hungry so we decided to get to-go from Oceana Grill. We go the Oyster Po’boy. It was very good with a healthy portion of oysters. It came with fries that were so good & crispy. They even stayed crispy after almost a mile walk back to our hotel.
Chris Tyson
My new favorite restaurant in New Orleans!! The food is SUPERB and all the staff are very friendly and knowledgable. We loved Oceana so much, we went twice in 3 days. Lol.
The crab cakes are the absolute BEST we've ever had! Definitely recommend the Blackened Catfish Caesar Salad, the Redfish Oceana, and, well, everything we tasted. We also really loved that it was open late every night. We will definitely be back next time we visit New Orleans.
Emmanuel Segura
Food was really great! staff was really friendly. Not a long wait to get seated. I would def recommend to anyone!!
Rob Erickson
Waited about 25 minutes on a Friday to get in. Was well worth it. We had tried another place the night before and it was ok. This place was great. First off, we had a great server - Justin. We had the Chargrilled Oysters to start. They were amazing. I had the Cajun Jamabalya Pasta and it was very good. Co-worker had the Blackened Grilled Red Fish. We had the Cheesecake and Chocolate Mousse Cake for dessert. I highly recommend.
Owen Kennedy
The prices were good , the food was deliciously authentic , the ambience was supurb , staff was friendly n polite , located in the French Quarter .
Love it Love it Love it.
Maria Santeiro
Have returned several times. Great food in a lovely setting.
I had the Ultimate Bloody Mary; hubby had the blackened redfish with etouffe. One of our favorite restaurants in NOLA. ❤️
Ada
Very very good food, the flavor is so much better than any other Cajun restaurants. Very fast service. Although the line was long but it moved quite fast.
Junie
Brie my server was helpful with the choices and provided excellent service. Although there was about a 20-30 minutes wait for seating, once seated food came quickly and was excellent. A must try whilst on Bourbon Street.
Bavard Rahdar
Great Cajun food and seafood. This place was a little difficult to find because of the construction in the area but worth it when you find it. The stand outs were the crab cakes which were topped with their crawfish sauce and the bread pudding was to die for… The jambalaya was dry and not that flavorful but the red beans and rice, the gumbo, and etouffe were damn near perfect. We got the ultimate Bloody Mary which was a whole appetizer served atop a very strong Bloody Mary: soft shell crab, shrimp, and oysters all battered and served hot with lots of olives, cocktail onions, and pickled green beans. The house oysters topped with their cream sauce were quite good but the oysters were small and the flavor was covered by the delicious cream sauce on top. I’m sure better Cajun food exists in New Orleans for cheaper but this was a good experience and we got to try a lot of stuff and it was walking distance from where we were staying. Don’t sleep on the bread pudding either - the praline rum sauce on top of the perfectly warmed bread pudding was the best thing I’ve eaten in a long time.
Z T
Our Lyft driver recommended the chargrilled oysters from here and we weren’t disappointed. Very fast seating and service even on a busy night. Don’t be discouraged by a long line.
Loami Morales
The food was amazing the flavors were LITERALLY melting on my tongue🤤
I got the Cajun jambalaya pasta and I’d recommend it for sure and the alligator bites were awesome they taste like chicken
Josh Reynolds
UberEats stole my order after 2 hours of waiting. I called The restaurant and spoke with the manager and he remade my food and had his own guy deliver it! Super service (I'll never use UberEATS again! They charge the restaurant 30%!)
Anyway, food was great, delivery was fast and prices were good. See photos of delivered food. .
Leyla Rezaei
Very good experience, we got the barbecue shrimp with lemon and garlic sause which was amazing, we dipped the bread in the sause and was heavnly! The drinks were good too.
For entree we got the red fish, crab cake and chicken alfredo pasta. We got the crawfish mushroom sause on the side which was nice. Everything was delicious. The staff were also very nice.
Leticia Velez
Service was spectacular. Food was good and their bloody Mary has been the best one that I have ever had. Definitely returning.
Kellie Nestrud
The line was long to get in, but it moved quickly so don't let that detur you. The food was excellent. We sat in the courtyard and it was perfect. Our server was very friendly, attentive, and made us feel like we were his only table even though he was juggling many. My only slight complaint is that my lemon drop didn't seem to have any more than a splash of vodka.
Lisa Busuttil
We have been coming to New Orleans for 25+ years and we always make a stop in Oceana Grill (or several). From the staff to the food, everything is always top notch. Kudos to John our server in the a.m. and to the Manager on duty that presented me with My photo ID I lost in there the night before. Who loses their ID during Mardi Gras and gets it back!!! Anyway thank you again for another stellar visit and we will see you in 2024.
Reanna Kay
Really good remoulade! I thought breading to be a be bit thick but alligator was tender and blacked was good as well (we order it ½ fried and ½ blackened). Got the "trio" under the favs menu... jambalaya was nothing to boast about, took our to go boxes and did not box the jambalaya. Red beans and rice wasn't my thing but my guy liked it. 5 stars to Karla our waitress all day!
CancerSun LeoMoon (Chef Alexis)
Angel was our server. She was AMAZING. Very hospitable and she answered all of our questions and was patient.
I ordered the special of the day, Crab Cake Heaven. Two crab cakes, a couple of grilled shrimp and seafood rice with turnip greens on the side. My coworker had a shrimp poboy and my Boss had spinach ravioli.
The greens were so good. If someone’s Grandma didn’t make them, then they were glory greens. Nonetheless I ate them all. My crab cakes and shrimp were cooked to perfection. The seafood rice was amazing. Lemon butter sauce was just butter sauce.
Angel deserves a raise. My Boss is on a limited diet and didn’t realize the tomato sauce on her ravioli would be a bit spicy for her liking. But she didn’t want to make a fuss so she just scraped off the tomato sauce and ordered a side of Alfredo to tone it down.
Out of nowhere without asking Angel brought her a whole new order of plain spinach ravioli with a side of Alfredo. Southern hospitality at its finest. This was my first time in New Orleans and the first restaurant I visited. I WILL BE BACK.
Saydie Hughes
This was our second place to eat on vacation, and this place was our top favorite! We ate oysters and alligator bites at another spot and here, and here..so much better! Must come!
Jackson Dohle
I recently just came here on a vacation in new orleans and I tried the bbq shrimp appetizer. The only "seafood" I've eaten ever was fish sticks😅 This was really good and the hospitality that was shown here was amazing. The waiter seemed to come at the perfect time and she was awesome. She also cooked the shrimp and kudos to her because like I said, the meal was phenomenal. Markisha did very good. Five stars for sure.
Jesse Boyd
Once again another favorite place to attend when I’m in town….. the fried catfish is my favorite and you get a lot…. The service is always amazing every-time I come there…..I don’t have any pictures because when the food came I started eatting it…. Hot fresh fries and fish
Matt Schaab
Amazing food and a really interesting space! A bit cramped, but people were really friendly and the service was amazing given how busy they were. I got the redfish etouffé with a soft shell crab. Best decision I made all trip!
2sons Bbq
The ambiance was wonderful and the food was great our waiter destiny was awesome made sure we was good on everything it was amazing experience recommended if your in nola stop on by and ask for destiny she will get you right
Jennifer Irvin
This was my firatbtime here. It was recommended by a friend and I wasn't disappointed. The gator bites, fried and blackened were so good. That dipping sauce was just too good. The fries smothered in that crayfish and mushroom cream sauce was awesome. My husband ate it all and couldn't eat his entree 😂😂 My crabcakes were delicious. You will definitely enjoy
Amanda B.
OMG! The food was so good. The Road to Bourbon is a must have. And the Cajun Fries were delicious. My #1 fav!
Amanda Lee
AMAZING service. Super friendly, fast, efficient wait staff, managers, and expediters. We stood in line for lunch but the line moved quickly. Once seated, we never felt rushed. Don't know how they managed that magic - amazing staff is my guess.
.
Kid friendly - kids menu and crayons.
.
The food was fine. It was legit good Cajun food but I have had better boudin. My husband liked his BBQ shrimp. The crawfish etouffe was good. If you live with easy access to Cajun food this is solid but nothing to write home about. If you don't live near easy access to Cajun food, then you are in for a treat.
.
Location is super convenient for a tourist looking for a spot to eat between tours of the French Quarter - especially a family with kids (lots of places are 21+ only). Prices are very reasonable for the area.
Marc Gagnon
I’ve ordered here a couple of times for delivery (Uber Eats) for family.
This was the first personal visit and it didn’t disappoint! The service (thank you Janelle) was fantastic.
Things are a little quieter in the FQ, and while a reservation was made, I don’t believe one was needed. That said, I’d suggest making one, especially if you are dining on the weekend.
The food! It was wonderful. Starting off with the Louisiana Crabmeat cakes and then transitioning to the seafood platter was purely delightful.
I opted to substitute the fries for a side of étouffée (was looking for a ‘healthier’ option). Mmm! Good!
A simple beer menu, had me choose the Faubourg Lager and it was the perfect companion. Clean. Cold. Crisp.
I’d go back. If you are looking for some seafood, then be sure to put Oceana on your list.
Sharp Lance
Latricia! Latricia! Latricia! She welcomed us not only to the restaurant but also in New Orleans itself.
She knows what my 5years old son needs even before I asked for it.
Made sure we have great experience in the place and in the city of NewOrleans!
Best grits and biscuit is super buttery and amazing.
Generous and huge shrimp servings.
Crepe is so tasty and the ratatouille is sooo good.
Definitely a place to eat in New Orleans!
Liam C
Everything is perfect except I don’t really like the pasta. I didn’t mean they are not good, specially they are not a Italian restaurant so I understand they can be a little bit off from it. Service are okay too.
Traveling Goose
Stopped here for a delicious brownie! The food here is extremely tasty, but for me the star of the show is this dessert! Not to mention some of the most fun and friendly staff, who seem to have spidey senses for when you’ve gone through half your drink, I couldn’t recommend this place more!
S S
My husband and I stopped in for dinner. I ordered Cajun jambalaya pasta. It was excellent!! My husband got fish. We were taken upstairs to the presidential room. I love all the architectural detail and brick. The people were happy and friendly. A great place to eat!
Milton Mora
It is a crowded place, but well deserved, I chose it coming out from a bar to take something for dinner and I was not disappointed at all, the food well served, the drinks ok, I had to choose a place at the bar because I was omw but definitely I will do it again. If you are in New Orleans, put it in your must do list.
Angélica Moya
Your MUST DO if you are in New Orleans… I’m so sorry they are having construction by the entrance now because this place rules!!! It was the best breakfast ever!!!!!!! Our server was Ivoryelle. The Cancun sausage breakfast was amazing, a lot of food and great flavor, I would come back for sure! 100% recommended!!
Joe Dupree
Atmosphere was terrific and the service was fantastic. Errol was the best. Stayed on top of everything and made us feel very welcome. Just the way it should be. Would request him anytime. As always the food was great Maw Maw's Cajun Breakfast never disappoints and pairs really well with their amazing Bloody Mary.
James “J-Hud” Hudson
Great place to eat and grab drinks if you’re near Frenchman New Orleans. My wife and I were seated super quick and the waiter was very nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. He recommended great meal and drink options for us.
Bianca Hannah
Pretty good meal, I especially enjoyed the corn and mashed potatoes. Tasted the red beans and rice and they were bursting with flavor
Waha
The food was fantastic. We had the blackened d7ck, blackened red fish ettoufee (pictured) and the creole pasta. Hats off to the chef. Our server Ashley was so attentive that we never had to wait on our server to come around. Thanks for a great dinning experience.
Carlos R
Amazing service and ambience. Everyone was friendly. Bathroom clean. The garlic mash potatoes were amazing, the ribs were good, they don’t fall off the bone though. My girlfriend had the blackened shrimp Alfredo pasta and she loved it, ate every noodle in the plate. Lol. Great choice to her!
Emily Schmitz
Ate here for dinner with a group of 11. They sat us surprisingly fast and the food was delicious. The swamp tea drink was really good. I can’t remember what drink my husband got but it came with a really cool souvenir cup.
Erica Velez
We waited about 20-25 mins outside. The line was moving pretty fast. Our server was Keith took him about 10 mins to greet us he was friendly but not very attentive from my observation it looked like he had 4 tables but was checking up on one particular table alot. After placing our appetizer fried gator and our drinks summer breeze our appetizer came out pretty quick but our drinks took some time. The food did take about 15 mins to come out we ordered the tour of Louisiana the Jambalaya was a bit dry, the Gumbo was delicious and and red bean & rice was OK. The menu was very similar to Old Nola Cookery wish I would have known this before going since we so went to Nola Cookery the night before.
Krystal Davis
Great food n drinks. Accommodations for a party of 13 and our 1 server rocked it. She was knowledgeable on the menu and recommendedations.. kudos to her cuz 13 drunk people probably wasn't the easiest lmao. Was very impressed. She has us in and out quickly yet not rushed one bit.
Trish Roper
Awesome place. Our server was Damon and he was knowledgeable and kind. He made some suggestions to us and I appreciate his friendliness. Very authentic. The food was great. We got the Cajun pasta, blackened chicken, a side of the Cajun fries, and our son got kids shrimp. There were other families in there as well and the ambiance was good. Great service and food.
Tara Wilson
We had a great dinner! The food was delicious and definitely had a great variety of options with local flavors. The place is clean and has fun decorations. All of the staff are incredibly welcoming and kind. Our server, Damon, was just fantastic! They were very accommodating with my peanut allergy as well which I always appreciate.
nithin george
A must try when you are at New Orleans . I recommend reserving your seat on weekends and holidays as it might get busy . The staff are very professional, they will only let you in as per their processing capacity. Try out their blackened red fish , it was very correctly done, the seasoning was just as needed, and cooked correctly. Also tried the duck, it was succulent inside and crispy outside the gravy was delicious. The soup was bit salty but tasty .
eddieb247365
Great place to eat just off Bourbon Street.
A lot of food for the price and good service.
Farkhad Jumayev
Great food. Had to come back next morning for seafood omelette. Tried the crawfish omelette before and it was delicious as well!
bry guy
Everything was amazing. As someone who doesn't like oysters the oysters oceana are amazing. Cajun fries are a must. I could drink the mushroom/crawfish sauce and I hate mushrooms.
hau chan
my friend and I got there before dinner time and the food are amazing! when we passed by later, there were lines outside. if you don't want to wait, make sure you go around before 6pm
T.J. McKinnon
Amazing breakfast especially after a night out on Bourbon St.. The Eggs Benedict where great, If you get the pancakes make sure to bring your appetite as they are huge and you get three!
Kamille Jones
Loved the atmosphere here! This was the first place we ate in New Orleans. I was a bit skeptical because sometimes when you get discounts because of the hotel you're staying in, you just never know. All in all, the food was really good! Very flavorful but not overly salted! And the crab cakes were sooo meaty! The drinks were good too! Be careful because they can sneak up on you! Cool spot to get food and have fun! Love the staff!
marsha springette
Visited August 2021, the fried alligator was delish and really did taste like fried chicken; the grilled alligator tasted like chewy chicken breast and I was reminded at each bite that I was eating alligator, the dipping sauce had a kick to it and was good. The creole jambalaya pasta was nicely seasoned with shrimp and sausage and had a kick to it. The bread pudding was served warm with a side of vanilla ice cream and was a crowd pleaser. The didn't ask for vaccine card at the door but did ask for you to sign your name and number to a clipboard and checking yes or no to you having either been vaccinated or having a negative pcr test. Free refills on soda. They have outside seating and it was busy each time we ate there.
Alex Valdez
Food was ok but not great. Mostly lacking in seasoning and taste, which is not what you would expect from food in New Orleans. Service was also lacking and not very warm.
Carla
Another place that came recommended. I had blackened catfish, my friend had the crawfish etouffee which was a raving marvel. Everything was really was good. My catfish and chocolate dessert cake were the best. I ordered jambalaya and greens as my side. The jambalaya came out cold, but I was willing to eat as is. I told my server and he insisted on a fresh hot bowl. I will say I wasn't as impressed with the greens. The chocolate dessert will stay on my mind forever.
Michael Young
There was a short line that moved quickly. Our server was great and the food was delicious!
Anitha Kartha
It’s a little tricky to find this place. You can reach it from bourbon or royal as you go around the construction. Google is pretty accurate about the busy times. I went right around 6:30 for dinner and it started to get busy soon after. The food is excellent. I got an order of crab cakes, a small crawfish etouffee and a bread pudding. Everything was delicious and a great intro to my first meal in New Orleans. The bartender was friendly and attentive and the drinks were strong.
When in New Orleans, go here for a meal. It’s worth it.

Underwhleming but not bad!
The food was ok and just that. Two nights ago (Friday) the line was almost 2 hours long so we skipped this place and decided to come back on Sunday night and there was no wait which was good. After eating at some amazing places during the weekend I think the food failed to rise to the occasion however it was still good. The servers were amazing however I expected finger-licking well seasoned food and that's not what I got. I had the Mardi Gras Pasta and the sauce was a little soupy instead of creamy. My friend had the blackened catfish and greens and he said he had better catfish elsewhere AND the greens tasted like canned greens and not that homestyle type one would expect in an area that prides itself on southern creole food.
All in all because of the prime location in the French Quarter this place gets a lot of hype however there is more to be desired. I guess what it lacks in food quality it makes up for in location and late night availability when other places are closed.

The chef's special was delicious! Red fish with shrimp and a home made crabcake, in a white wine and lemon sauce, so good and highly recommend. It came with greens which were also delicious. The garlic mashed potatoes tasted like home, they were so comforting 😊 I also had the Sazerac and Abita Amber with my meal and was highly satisfied.

If you come to New Orleans and don't eat here you didn't really do New Orleans. By far the best food around. Breakfast highly recommend the crepe stuffed with crawfish and shrimp. Absolutely try thebloddy mary if you like a little heat.

Unfortunately, the service wasn't great early on. At first, we stood at the bar since we'd have needed to wait in line outside for a table, but the bartenders seemed not to notice us for whatever reason. It wasn't until I noticed a young lady who was sitting by herself and asked her if I could buy her a drink in exchange for her moving one seat over so my dad & I could have a seat. She took me up on the offer, and then a few minutes later, we were noticed and were finally asked if we wanted anything to drink.
While we were directly in front of the TV that was showing College Football, I was more interested in pulling up the UFC fights on my ESPN+ app on my phone, so we watched that while we ate some delicious, authentic Cajun cuisine. This was a great choice and was recommended by our Front Desk agent at Jung Hotel and Residences. I wish I could remember his name to give him a shout-out.
The Jung is also a really cool hotel in case anyone is looking for a place to stay. They've got a shallow lap pool on the rooftop (pretty sure it's a 17 story building if memory serves) and there's a pretty cool view of the whole city. But anyway, Oceana was a really good time and well-worth the price.
Jayne Balash-Tran
The food had no business being this good. So delicious. I went alone and sat at the bar where it was not very busy. The bartender kept me company between cleaning and filling drink orders.
Aiya Adele
We've had breakfast and lunch several times and every time the food was tasty. Service is great!
Erny Cozy
There was a little bit of a wait time outside before we were seated. But the food is totally worth the wait time. This was the 1st place I ever had alligator bites, blackened and fried. Delicious. I ordered ribs and fries. I hardly eat fries, but these fries were delicious. Not too oily and really crispy. Can't wait to go back on my next visit. And I did after a year
Lexi Claro
The wait staff was so helpful & attentive, Chris especially as well as Kiesha (I hope I spelled that right). The food was also amazing. Everything we had was so good & very flavorful. Will definitely recommend to friends & family and we'll be back.
Karen Lin
It was drizzling and there was no line. Food was great but smaller portion. You can skip the gator bites since it tastesjust like chicken but with soil smell.
Nick Stafford
This place came recommended by a tour guide when we asked for a kid friendly restaurant in the French Quarter. The smothered oysters were good. The Mardi Gras Pasta was recommended by 2 staff members, but it was ok at best. The blackened catfish was very good. The crab cakes were ok. Honestly, the fries were the best thing any of our party of 10 had. The portions were large though. Ultimately, I think you could do better in the French Quarter, especially for the price.
Felicia
The food was okay nothing overly spectacular. The food served wasn’t hot enough and tends towards being cold. The service and location is good and convenient.
Erik Richards
Gator tail bites and char grilled oysters were fantastic! Consider sharing as portions are large.
Lulu Lynn
The first meal of the day and the town was so yummm. I love the seafood fried patter. The staffs are nice and polite.
al akrab
We come here at least once each time we come to New Orleans. The wait staff have all been incredible. The food is some of the best anywhere. The downstairs is plain decor wise but the upper levels are incredible. Is there a line out the door and a long wait. Yep. Is it worth it? Every darn minute and then some. There's a reason there's a line. Come find out why for yourself.
Dawn Jerangan
Excellent! Excellent!! Excellent!!! The food was so amazing….. I ordered the bread pudding, fried oyster po boy with Cajun fries and the golden Cadillac drink. Babyyyy when I tell you it was sooooo good. It was amazing. I Mmmmmmmed all the way through. And our servers were also Amazing!!!! Shout out to Ron and Errol. This was my first visit and throughly enjoyed myself.

Wonderful place to enjoy the tastes of New Orleans!
Tom and his staff are a pleasure to talk to, very helpful, tell you all about all foods served.
They made us feel at home.
We ate here everyday for a week trying different dishes....ALL WERE EXQUISITE!
Then we returned a week later and went back for more deliciousness!
We went for lunches and early dinners, NEVER had to wait, I've heard the wait line can be long. fyi
James Rocco
I came to New Orleans for my birthday weekend with my girlfriend, we are not familiar at all with the area and we stumbled across Oceana Grill online, as soon as I seen the Blackened Alligator Po Boy I knew I had to go there and try it, sure enough we went and It exceeded expectations! Not to mention it looked exactly like the picture on the menu. Friendly staff as well, they over heard me saying it was my birthday and brought me out a bread pudding that was to die for and completely on the house. Their other menu items all looked amazing if you are in the New Orleans area and want a great restaurant to go to
10/10 would recommend. I will be back everytime I visit New Orleans
Christine McNutt
Poboy awesome. Got the fried shrimp and husband got fried fish. Yummy. Server Sandra awesome.
Erik Davis
I recommend! We got the suggestion to eat here from a local artist who highly recommended the gumbo. The food was good and we loved our experience. Our server Damon was so warm and welcoming. We enjoy our time very much. They even sang happy birthday to my sister and brought a slice of pie and candle.
Neil Modino
I love Oceana Grill. The cat fish platter is my favorite. The catfish is well seasoned and the portion is just right for the prize and it is reasonable. I will go back again and try the jambalaya pasta. It looked delicious. Bread pudding is delicious as well. I love it. Will come back again when I visit. I am from CA and I love NOLA.
Ricky Johnson
Great Bloody Mary I had the blackened duck and it was fantastic service was great atmosphere was great it was a good place to eat and a good time for sure will be back
DERRIC ROGERS
If you want to know why New Orleans has the reputation for being a tourists' treasure, visit the Oceana Grill and sit with Diamond and have the blackened seafood platter. I'm a Southwest airlines employee. Although we haven't had the best holiday season, we know hospitality and customer service. Diamond was the perfect ambassador for the city, for Oceana Grill, and for just what the holiday season is infamous for. Impeccable, genuine service and hospitality topped with GREAT food and ambiance. What a way to restore your faith in humankind during a dim period and culture!
Matt B.
I get putting 5-stars for this, saying it was recommended by someone and that it "was amazing" but in reality it is just a regular place. The wait wasn't too bad for a Monday evening, and the staff was friendly.
Reason for the 3-star: they gave me the wrong order, no charred oysters, and the food wasn't amazing enough for me to go back. I ordered the blackened chicken (see pic).
I would say go to cross it off your list if you are visiting, but "amazing" is not the word I would use.
Shonboo
I loved the service, the food and the view. Highly recommend!
Doug Haggerty
This place has it all! Everything from seafood to creole to American food. The pasta I had was fabulous. They have drink specials too. It was my birthday when I went and they gave me bread pudding as my present....and I must say, I've never had better! Great joint, go check it out 👍
Joy Teague
Service was great and the food was fantastic. We both had pasta dishes, shrimp Alfredo and the jambalaya pasta. They were both delicious . The only thing I would change is I will order the barbecue shrimp as the entree next time. We had it as an appetizer and it was so good!
Veronica Grandberry
Always a stop when visiting New Orleans... Excellent food always so sorry no pictures but trust me it was Delicious the special of day Red fish and shrimp w/ pasta...Highly recommend!!! We sat at bar upstairs, the moment we sat down we were taken care of AWESOME bartenders Rochelle & Drew!!! They took extremely great care of us very friendly, personable, attentive and inventive!!! The whole staff very friendly, courteous and attentive...
Jennifer Helms
Amazing crab cakes! When they say world famous believe them. The restaurant was super packed but our service was quick and friendly. The food came out quick and delicious. Would highly recommend going. If you see a long line don't get deterred, it moves very quickly and it's well worth the wait.
Michelle Jackson Corrao
The restaurant's hospitality here is top tier. The meals were great and well priced.
Riya Kumar
Great food- the pasta was to die for and their cocktail of the day was good to boot. Bread pudding for dessert was definitely the right choice
Whitney, our server, was excellent and checked in throughout the night to make sure everything was perfect!
Be prepared for a little bit of a wait but it's well worth it
Yorlando Casey
Our waitress was great and timely the food was awesome as always
Pritika Singh
Amazing Food!!! Best gator bites!
Great service!!! Jamal, our server was very helpful!

Koos Zietsman
Great food, great service ang good selection of drinks, loved it.
KAYLA MATHIS
Our wait in a long line was maybe 15 minutes. Service was fantastic, food was delicious, and the environment is amazing. We got The taste of New Orleans and the Blackened Red Fish plate both were amazing. Then for dessert we got the chocolate kahlua mousse.... mouthwatering! Oh and that bloody Mary was the best ever!
Rashonda Young
Blackened and Fried alligator bites, spinach oysters, Jambalaya, and Blackened Catfish was all great The waitress was absolutely the best!
Charles Kiker
I try and make a stop at the Oceana every time I'm in New Orleans. The food is always outstanding. This trip was no different. The service is top notch. Get the crab cakes. Trust me. A+ experience. It's a don't miss.
vivian buie
My favorite place to eat when visiting New Orleans. Best dinner in town, but this time I tried the breakfast which was equally as good. Also service is outstanding!!
Jenna Henderson
It is very expensive for a small portion. The blackened catfish was extremely salty. I couldn’t eat it, even though I am aware it typically is heavily seasoned.
The service and atmosphere were wonderful. The boudin balls and crab cakes were amazing. I would recommend, but know how to order.
Mz. Johnson “Brownsuga” Lady Driver
This is my MUST GO TO PLACE when I am in the city. I love everything about this place from the food to the drinks. Breakfast and Irish coffee's are always on point in the mornings and will have you feeling good. The lunch and dinner has never failed me. My ex-husband knew where to take me without asking if we were in the city, which was several times a month. Staff is always friendly and super accommodating. Oceana will never fail you.... trust me. Parking is sometimes difficult because they are in the heart of the Quarters, but we always got lucky and got parking within the block.
Kawame Curry
If you decide to ever come to New Orleans. Oceana Grill is a must stop. The customer service is amazing and the food is even better.
Finch
Came here for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised. Initial interior seems the same as other NOLA bars, but the restaurant beyond it is cozy. Staff is very friendly and helpful - a window in the seating area allows for viewing of your food being made and the chef is good at what he does. And it shows - the food is delicious! Shared the oysters rockefeller and the crab cake heaven special. Oysters were flame grilled and you can really taste it. Crab cake heaven lives up to its name.
Benjamin Lewis
Hit the spot! A small wait outside and it was totally worth it. Our waitress was named Destine and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had soft shell crab, the Taste of New Orleans platter (red beans and rice, jambalaya, crawfish etoufee), cheeseburger, crab cakes, chicken strips, and a couple signature cocktails. All was delicious. Even the kids liked the spicy stuff, which is rare. Great spot!
James Robayo
While in NOLA the French Quarter is the place to go. Heard about this place and had to try it out. There was a short wait to get in but it was worth it!! Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The food was phenomenal!! Fresh seafood is the way to go. The steak was prepared perfectly and everything tasted so good. Can't wait to come back!!
Tiffany Napier
Fun atmosphere, great food. Definitely a must do while in New Orleans.
Phillip Hunter
I love Oceana’s so I coordinated a reservation of 29 with Erica about 1 1/2 months prior to our trip. When we arrived, everything was ready for us. The food was BANGING as always and there wasn’t a long wait at all. Angela was efficient, quick, and attentive. She made sure all of us were taken care of. It was so good, that Tom at the pick up desk convinced us to come back for breakfast the next day. And all I can say is the Eggs Benedict with the Crab Cake was AMAZING. I need a repeat. Thanks for top notch service and great food!!!

My wife had the butterfly shrimp and I had blackened red snapper over pesto noodles. Large portions and good price with excellent quality... plus the server was very nice and gave us good Intel on New Orleans.
Don Juan
First time at this place and had crab cakes.
Great food and good service.
Be ready to line up during rush hours.
Matthew Mattis
This place is amazing. Great food, staff was friendly and the price was very reasonable. Drinks were fantastic. I will definitely visit again. The bad part is that it was near Bourbon St.
deez Bea
It was good food the only thing that was wrong the food was cold 🥶 when I got it but not only mine but everyone with us. The only thing that was hot was the red beans and rice which was really good but its ok there just need to bring the food out hot 🔥
Jamie anderson schiwy
Damon is one of the best waiters we have ever had. Great service, so kind, and funny - he's a wonderful guy. We came in to celebrate my husband's birthday and he made our night. The food was incredible, and the service was amazing. Highly recommend.
Nabeel Choudhry
Very good food and environment. Best food we had in New orleans.
Ryan M
Go see Ron who is the bartender on the top floor. He is amazing and you can see him in the first photo!
CC
I really enjoyed my experience! Good food, BOMB PLAYLIST, very kind bartenders, the specialty drinks were so good and the jambalaya pasta was amaziiiing. I sat in the second floor at the bar and it was good!
I made a reservation for a Thursday evening! And got seated ~5 minutes of arrival so MAKE A RESERVATION if you go on weekdays to avoid the line !!!
Ashley Moore
Really like this place. Crab cakes are too die for!!! Would've giving it 5 if the food was hot when it came out.
Mr. Mccoy
The food was amazing. I am from NY but I definitely got that New Orleans feel and taste. Oh and the drinks are good too.
Yizzel Barrera
My family really liked this restaurant. Everything we ate was good.
Lacey Howard
We are here during the 4th of July, the streets were busy, we tried several places with wait times and landed here. The BBQ shrimp is the bomb! So are the crab cakes. Out family of 8 was well taken care of here!
steve harris
The best Cajun cuisine I've ever have! The pasta was wonderful and the crab cakes were perfect. Great and worth a wait in line
Phyllis Puissegur
Food atmosphere and staff all great. Had a rehearsal dinner there upstairs!! Drinks were fabulous!!
BH Aguilar
One of the best brunch places I've been to! Definitely a must to go when you are in NOLA!!
Patryk P
Everything was very good. Oysters great! I recommend.
Josie Walk (Josie)
The best Shrimp and grits in the South. This is my go to spot when I come to New Orleans. Breakfast is the bomb.
gina sandoval
The food is outstanding!!! All I can talk about is how delicious the Cajun jambalaya was the flavor was incredible!! And the gator bites were really good! The waitresses were so nice and extremely accommodating. They have several different areas to dining areas and floors! The atmosphere was great! We definitely will be back.
Brandon Kline
Phenomenal food, wonderful service, nice decor, an overall great experience.
Abir Ghosh
Had to wait over an hour to get in but it was worth it. So get there early if you can. The service was good and the food came pretty quickly too. I would highly recommend the BBQ Shrimp and Cajun Fries. Crab Cakes were good too but I found it a bit dry. However, my BBQ Shrimp had so much extra sauce that I dipped Crab cakes in it ;). Their drinks also looked good (we didn't have any).
Ronald Foster
This is a wonderful place to eat after walking the amazing streets of the French Quarters. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was like most typical Bourbon Street restaurants. The food was delicious. I had the Crabcake Heaven. It was yummy. Beware: The portions are large enough to share with two appetizers. So do not order two plates for two. I would return when in the location next visit.
L Martin
Gluten free menu! Food was good, gluten free and vegetarian options. Nice lively location, friendly service.
Amber Patino
Wonderful food, drinks, and service. Our next time in NOLA this place is on our list to return to. My husband had the grilled red fish with a crawfish cream sauce and shrimp and grits. Hands down one of the best meals we've had. Our server was sweet and very attentive.
primetimesuspect
This place has to be one of the places with the best food In NOLA. The Inside Is humongous with several floors. I also loved that they had several photos of different celebrities that came here framed on the wall on each floor. I really loved their oysters.
Debb Frost
I was suggested another restaurant but I passed by and saw this menu and was really intrigued. I got a grilled gator salad and a hurricane( my mother in law requested it) and both were wonderful. My server Tanesha was friend and suggestive and I really appreciated her. Her hospitality would make me hire her in a second. I will be back when I come back with my husband.
Felicia W
Oceana was recommended, and so we tried it out. The drink I had was the Bohemian Bahama Mama, which was pretty good and refreshing. I had the blackened redfish and shrimp pasta, and my guy had the seafood platter. The pasta dish was tasty, but I expected a little more.
Our server, Whitney, was friendly and attentive. She greeted us with a warm smile and had a great personality. Whitney made our visit welcoming.
Jillian Srygley
We were exhausted and hungry at our hotel, so we ordered doordash from Oceana at 11:30pm wondering if they’d even accept the order. They did and had the food over within an hour. Pretty dang impressive for a Saturday night.
In terms of the food, overall it was what we needed at that point. The one big minus for me was the seafood gumbo. The texture of the shrimp was incredibly off-putting - it seemed like it had been boiled for way of long and basically crumbled in my mouth without any chewiness at all. But for a filling meal late at night, this is the place.
Nashaunda Wiley
It was like a 20 min wait. Which is not bad. I thought by the name they would have shrimp boil in a bag but they didn’t. I do like where it’s located and the hours are late.
Christopher Montgomery
The food was awesome!! Customer service is why they did not get a 5 star rating. Charboiled oysters... fantastic, gumbo, you'll need an extra bowl.. crab cakes.. everyone at the raced about them. I definitely recommend this place but be aware that the customer service isn't great.
Dee Deigh
My rating is based on the food. The service was just Ok but the food was on point. I enjoyed everything I ordered and will come back for more. My first time trying alligator so I got 1/2 blackened and 1/2 fried from the appetizers section. It was delectable. Will also recommend their "Road to Bourbon Street" Margarita.
James Nance
Bloody Mary was one of the best I have ever had! Food came out super fast. We got the fried shrimp and fried gator po boys. We preferred the shrimp though both were good.
Original Sin
My server was so sweet, the oysters are a must have!
Carina Anne
Amazing food, great atmosphere, and not too pricy. Ordered the Louisiana Crabmeat cakes
Kathi Kane
Food was quick and tasty. Service not the best. Our waitress took our order and then never came back until she dropped off our bill. The atmosphere was nice. No line before 7 and no reservations needed.
Leighanne Priester
Expect a slight wait, but it is well worth it. Our server was Mary, cutie with glasses and aqua hair. She was super knowledgeable about the restaurant, she even knew the dimensions of the menu, I asked lol. I wanted an oyster po boy and she suggested the gumbo as well. The seafood gumbo was soooo delicious. The po boy had the biggest juiciest oysters fried to perfection. The drinks are awesome, service is excellent and food is worth another trip to New Orleans. Highly recommended!!!!!
Jen Taco
Came here on a food tour. The place is a decent size with 2 floors. Nice atmosphere/architecture. The hostess, servers, and managers were all extremly nice! We had the alligator bites which was my first time and really liked them. I can't remember the 2nd item we had but it was good too. I ordered a Irish Coffee and it was excellent. I would be back.
Karen A.
Fabulous all around!! 4 of us dined and had their signature dishes. Portions were spot on and flavors were superb. Cadillac margaritas were too good and our server Markesha was entertaining, friendly and gracious.
Benjamin Kornelis
Food was amazing and came out incredibly fast.
Sassan S
Super yummy food and very Friendly Staff. Thank you Monique.
Sandy Thrasher
This is a must-go place! Great food and great service!
Kylerslife J
Oceana Grill was able to provide one of the best meals I had while in New Orleans. The waiter was super attentive while being extremely personable. I greatly enjoyed my experience there and would recommend anyone to go!
Maria Carroll
Everything was amazing especially the service. Fi was wonderful. We had the alligator tail bites, crab cakes and bbq shrimp. My partner was so impressed w the sauce on the shrimp “I would make love to this sauce”. We will be back on our next visit.
Pelin Pulcu
Lovely place, delicious foods and great waiters! Highly recommended place
Carrie Stacks
This place was amazing! The food was delicious the building was great. You could feel the history there. Everyone from the hostess to the manager were friendly. We had a wonderful window seat too. We had the February Crab Cake special (which was not the one on the regular menu), eggplant sticks, Fried Gator, Taste of New Orleans sampler platter (red beans and rice with sausage, Jambalaya, and crawfish etouffee), and a Ceasar salad. I love that the salad had the dressing on the side. The crab cakes were amazing. They had fantastic flavor and came with large shrimp as well as Cajun crawfish rice and it was all covered in a lemon garlic butter sauce. The plate was huge so you can share if you really want to. A little sad that I was too full for dessert, but I wanted to try so many things. Definitely make a reservation just in case the time you want to go is busy. We did a walk up about 2pm and had to wait about 20 minutes to go in, but it was worth the wait. Some of the dining is up stairs so be sure to let them know if you cannot do stairs. Happy eating!
Natalie Purcell
We dined in here with 4 adults and two babies & it was awesome! 10/10 recommend. The food, service, atmosphere, and hospitality was all super. Justin was our waiter and he was spectacular!
Laura Fuller
Delicious! Had the barbeque shrimp and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had reservations for 3:30 but still had to wait about 30 minutes in line to be seated so make sure you fit that in your schedule. Even though it was tasty would probably pick elsewhere next time because of how busy it gets but that's really just personal preference.
Tony B
Would have been 5 stars but the ending wasn't as good as the beginning. Food was great, service wasn't bad until they forgot one of our friends meals. Manager nor server did anything about it. All in all, worth the wait and the money.
Jessica Cain
Service was the worst. Food was great. Servers need to slow down and know the menu. Our guy ran around but wasn't talking to his tables. Felt ignored.
Couldn't barely flag him down to get water or alchohol. Parties around us seemed upset too. Asked a question about the vegetable side, and he couldn't say what vegetables were in the side dish. Food we got was excellent. Wish we could have tipped the person that made the food.
Samantha Kandi
10/2022: That alegator, and soup is the bomb. All the food was so tasty. Would come again
01/2023: So I returned here a year later.. i ordered the "red fish and shrimp ya-ya" and omg, I can't get over how flavourful this food always is. Oceanna never diaspoints. Highly recommend it to anyone especially seafood lovers.
Ashlei Shannon
This restaurant was recommended by a local resident, so I knew that was a good sign. The food was AMAZING! Updated to add photos from my most recent visit. Still great, three years later!
Melissa Martinez
Great food, had the creole shrimp and gator sausage pasta and creme brulee.
Brad B
The best breakfast, especially biscuits and gravy! Friendly service with a fun atmosphere.
M R
I can't even begin to describe how delicious this food was, everyone in our group enjoyed it so much!! The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere was amazing! The line can get a bit long but it moves quickly.
Sean O'Connor
The meal was fabulous. The blackened duck was rich, moist, and very flavorful. The redfish special with crab cake was also amazing. Service was a little slow, but not terrible.
James S
Staff was friendly and helpful. The food was great and came out from the kitchen quickly. Good menu with a nice spread, but not overwhelmingly cluttered. Would definitely come back!
WALLY WOOD EATS
The oysters were really good. I also had the blackened shrimp po boy. It was light but flavorful. Our server was really nice & we ate upstairs to watch the game with less noise. The crab cakes were really good also.
Blanca Oropesa
I loved. I ordered a crepe with seafood and was delicious. Is a very cozy place with a careful attention. I forgot my sunglasses and when I returned 20 minutes later, They had them kept waiting for me.
jessica putman
Definitely loved this place. The waiter was amazing im sad I forgot his name but he was so nice and even went to see if the spinach ravioli was still available and added crawfish. A1 service drinks and food were amazing would definitely recommend
Saraa Stubbs
Geez! I wish I could remember our waitresses name... She definitely deserves the shout out! Along with the friendly staff and outstanding customer service. What I have pictured is basically the only thing you need to get! For an appetizer (2 of us split) it had us FULL by the time we got our entree! Definitely add the gator bites to it! The blackened duck wasn't too bad and the catfish... Mmm 🤤! Bill wasn't that bad either! (HINT: Make sure you grab a coupon from the visitors center!!!!!)
Jimmy Vo
All staffs were amazing, especially Mary our waitress. We got the seafood platter, Oceania’s famous oysters, and a cup of seafood gumbo. The seafood platter was okay. The seafood gumbo was really good, and the oysters was phenomenon. We recommend both the osyters and the gumbo. We finished with a bread pudding and itwas delicious, fresh, and chunky textured. Mary was fast, friendly and smart. The overall experience was amazing.
Sara Thompson
The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The food was served hot and very delicious. Portions are right-sized, not too much and not too little. We visit at least once every time we visit NOLA.
Charo P
Awesome wait staff. Even with a crowded restaurant our food was delivered quickly and hot. Our drinks were refilled quickly . My second time visiting and when I return to NOLA I'll be back
Jay Kulesza
Very authentic and delicious food. The people were nicer than the food was delicious!
Alicia J
Staff is super friendly and attentive. Took her time answering our questions. Food was prepared as requested and was delicious. I had the spinach, chicken and cheese crepe YUM. Also ordered a western omelette which had a perfect mixture of peppers, onions, cheeses, etc. The alligator bites were a great appetizer and paired perfectly with the dipping sauce. Highly recommend and would come back next time I am in this area.
Dwight Hobberechts
This was my first time I was at Oceana Grill. I had an incredible breakfast. A seafood omelet with some extra crayfish and shrimp hollandaise sauce. The food was hot and delicious, and the service was excellent. It seemed that the other customers were happy and satisfied.
keish Free
This place was one of my highlights during my stay in New Orleans. I was able to dine for breakfast. The seafood and the royal omelet was excellent!!! and service was great. Make sure you request Alicia C. She's awesome.
Kosto
This is one of our many visits to NO but the first time here. We were glad to had dinner despite of this new Corona world oder. Food were delicious and server Brian on the top of his assignment. Only the greeter didn’t have his best day but who cares, its on him. Recommend this place and don’t forget about deserts, usually I don’t order any but this time I had and It was revelation...
David Bilhartz II
Blackened redfish with Blanc sauce and bloody Mary were great. Was glad it was opened late!
Priscilla Johnson
The red beans and rice had a small piece of chicken sausage. I didn’t expect too much from the salad but expected to have fresh lettuce. The first time I ate here was in 2018 and the experience was night and day. I was excited to come back but it was a huge disappointment. I recommend going elsewhere.
John Conley
Reluctantly, I placed an order for delivery late last night: gator bites; crayfish etouffee; and bread pudding. My order arrived at 12:30 am, hot and surprisingly good. I would definitely order from them again next time I am visiting the Quarter and craving a late night Creole fix.
Mustafa Sufiyan
Fried cat fish was really good. We even tried oysters and other fishes. Reserve your table a day in advance before you go and sit upstairs .
Tony Fette
My wife and I went there due to all the reviews. We are from WA state. The staff are very friendly. I ordered the shrimp creole because I love sea food and the wife had the gourmet burger. Honestly it wasn't the best creole I ever had. The rice was kinda cold and some of it was hard. The creole had lots of shrimp though. My wife said her burger was kinda dry. She did say the fries and burger bun was good. We also had the fried gator as an appetizer. Now I did like that. I guess we expected more with all the great reviews but the food quality in our opinion was not there.
Brina Bee
Had an amazing experience here!!! Taleah was an amazing waitress! Very fast and on point!!! If u come here request her!

This spot is always a hit! I loved the atmosphere in the patio very relaxed. No wait on our first visit (1:20pm) the service was spectacular and the food was cooked to perfection! I gave it 4 stars as this changed on our second visit Saturday at 7pm. We were completely aware it was prime time as the line was out the door. We found seats at the bar to avoid the wait. The food took longer than expected and it came out cold. You could tell quality diminished as the demand increased. Nonetheless, this is must! For best service go for lunch!

Excellent dinner! Service was amazing. The Blackened Shrimp Po Boy was outstanding and the special Blackened Redfish was the best thing we had all weekend! Highly recommend!

Me and my family went and the place was amazing. Damon made me enjoy my meal, and he made my son feel so special. He made us laugh consistently through out the night!!!! Damon our waiter was the BEST and soooo nice we hope that the next time we go to oceans grill we get Damon as our server. DAMON WAS AMAMZING AND BEST SERVICE EVER! Food was perfect exactly what we ordered great communication skills.

Delicious food and very nice service! Large restaurant! Highly recommended. Didn't even realize it was #2 on tripadvisor when we ate there but now I know why.

By far the best meal I've had on my trip! Fantastic food, great prices and the drinks were awesome. Hopefully you'll be lucky and get to sit at the bar while Roberto is working. He took excellent care of us and was great to talk to!!!

We ordered in the first night, our driver recommended this place and did not fail. A party of 14 and no one was disappointed. This was the best meal I had while in town.

Delicious, delicious, delicious! My waitress Erica....was simply amazing! Upon her recommendation I had the Blackened Catfish and did it score a GrandSlam!!!! I wish to thank the cook(s) and the establishment management for an absolutely laudable dining experience. Each member of the staff that walked by asked if I were okay or needed anything.... That's hospitality at it's finest! Whenever I return to New Orleans, be assured that I will return to dine again and again!!!! Delightfully delicious!!!!

Everything was delicious. We ordered chargrilled oysters, ribs, stuffed salmon, shrimp, blackened catfish, bread pudding, and IT ALL WAS DELICIOUS. Our server was top tier! And we arrived just before the long lines began!
Bloody Mary was perfect 🥰

The food wasn’t bad, but it definitely did not live up to the hype. The fried catfish was okay, but I don’t recommend anything with french fries because they are frozen, not fresh. The hushpuppies however were great! All in all, not bad food, but it is extremely overpriced for what you get, compared to other similar restaurants in the area.

Oceana is definitely worth the rave reviews. Summer was an amazing and timely waitress. The food came out quickly aswell as the drinks. I will recommend this place for my friends and family who visit, for sure!

Great atmosphere, even better Blackend shrimp Po' Boy... it was amazing

Nice place to go late after an all day drive from Tennessee. They sat us at the bar after a 5 minute wait (after a group seemingly half of the state of Mississippi ahead of us!) about 9:30 pm Wednesday night. Bar service friendly and served us well. Food was good, daughter had fried shrimp platter (huge, nice sweet, fresh shrimp, fried just right with clean grease, so yummy, even the tails!) I had an etofee/jambalaya/red beans and rice platter -- sausage was fantastic! Daughter's mojito was sweet satisfying and on point. Not fine dining but what do you expect 9:30 pm Dec 28? Hotel Maison Dupuy gave us a 10% discount coupon which allowed me to tip VERY generously, after which we went out to Bourbon Street, walked around, did silly dancing at clubs. Great night all around!

Came here looking for some authentic New Orleans cuisine and we were not disappointed! We struggled for some time trying to decide what to get because everything sounded delicious. It was a large restaurant with plenty of spacing and the service was great. The only disappointment was that they didn't have the authentic bananas foster dessert.

Damon our waiter was very helpful in explaining the Cajun food to us and was johnny on the spot with service. The food was great and the atmosphere was relaxed. I would eat here again and ask to be seated in Damon's section.

Alot of times in a place like the french quarter you experience "turn and burn" so no real connection with staff sometimes it can almost seem rude. Well not here, the hostess grabbed our attention outside while we were looking at the menu. The wait staff was happy and friendly (unlike alot of the other places we went)
Food was outstanding!!!
We had a question so our server brought over another employee that they called "the book" he knew anything we asked. We took some notes and went and saw everything he told us about. Including a street car ride to Igor's (bar, pool tables and laundry mat all in one.)
Def our favorite spot while in new Orleans to dine.

Jessica was awesome. She got my wife exactly what she wanted which wasn't on the menu as a meal but asked the kitchen and they did it thank you. Great food all what we were told and then some.

Get the freakin' Red Fish Alfredo. My friends and I literally stumbled into this restaurant looking for some great food, and we were greeted & seated in less than 3 minutes (the restaurant was full), our waitress was the sweetest, service was exceptional, and on top of that... the food, lord have mercy, it was the best restaurant we visited while in New Orleans.
Michelle Landry
The Oceana Redfish was tasty. I like that the fish was lightly battered.
Mayar Alhwaidi
They have amazing food! The food is just awesome and tastes really good. They also have pretty good prices and staff are very friendly and nice. The restaurant is very neat and they have outdoor seating which is good for the pandemic. They are also social distancing.
Michael Kelch
We had the chargrilled oysters for an appetizer. Delicious! My reddish and my wife's crab cake were equally tasty! Service was very good. No white table cloths here, but a great meal.
Laura Langston
Mary was our server and she was really nice. The food was excellent! I had the seafood platter it was a lot of food for $23. Creme Brule was to die for.
Kevin Wimberly
This was my first trip to NOLA, and I believe I made the perfect choice with this restaurant. Staff was very friendly, food was fantastic, and drinks were delicious. Highly recommend!
Anil v
Food was yummy with good service. Margaritas was little too sugary. Clean restrooms.
Leah Elizabeth Van Houten
Oceana Grill is an amazing experience! They are so friendly and took time with our table, they are kid friendly, have an amazing vibe, and they play music the adults and the kids can enjoy. Their drinks are delicious and we order some to go. We will definitely be back next time we are in Louisiana!! Sydney was amazing, friendly and courteous very attentive.
Marvin Johnson Jr
Found them on trip advisor and it was worth the trip. The food was good, fresh and service was good. It look small but it's not never been to a 3 story restaurant.
Kris Stephens
Love Oceana. Easily some of the best food around. I literally spend any time I am not in Louisiana seeking out an even remotely comparable bread pudding. It doesn't exist.
NaToya Rainer
Everything was awesome until the system went down, I guess they don’t have a plan in place to resolve this type of issue 😒, so I was served room temp pasta, oh by the way it was cold in there. I think they took my food and rewarmed it because it was the same amount, the smart 🤓 waitress, REALLY! Anyways hopefully they get it together. BUT the food still was great!
Laura Quinn
Every time we're in NO, we can't get enough of Oceana - consistent, amazing food (Redfish Oceana is our fave, but any of the alfredo dishes and bourbon pecan pie are the best) and impeccable service - this trip we went twice - both Chad and David took great care of us - anticipated our needs and didn't feel rushed. Can't wait for our next trip!
Ashley Johnson
Absolutely amazing service, food, and vibes!!! I had gumbo , Caesar salad and catfish !!! WOW WOW WOW i loved it so much . The chef greeted us and came to check on us several times . His name was Julian and was super sweet !! Thank you Oceana !!
Mel
A wait but worth it. You'll want to make reservations because there's two lines but no reservation is longer waits. I had the bbq shrimp and grits and it was excellent !
Yvonne Townes
My cousin introduced me to this restaurant, we had breakfast here 3 times this week!!!!! Each day was Magnificent!! Our servers Markesha and Luchi were Exceptionally Amazing!!! The food was Superb and the Golden Cadillac Margarita is a MUST!
Katie Fluharty
Great atmosphere and service! We ordered the red fish with the crawfish cream sauce (house special for a reason) and the catfish platter. It was delicious! Our favorite dish here was our appetizer of blackened alligator. Delicious!
Tiffany Tyler
The staff was excellent!! We walked past a long line of people waiting right at our reservation time and we were seated immediately!! Hostess, waitress, busser were all friendly, they even changed the channel on TVs so we could watch nba playoffs. You are sure to find something delicious on the menu as well! I loved gator bites, crab cakes, and the ultimate bloody mary!!
Kara' Lundy
Although it was cold, the atmosphere on Bourbon St was electric. The food and the service were excellent. A good variety of cocktails and food on the menu.
Andrea CM
Seafood gumbo was good but the oysters were frozen and tasteless. They’re getting 3 stars because my bartender was friendly and kind enough to let me know. It’s definitely for the tourists.
TheFoodieOutrider
This place is amazing! Our first time in New Orleans and we checked this place out for authentic reole cuisine. It sure did not disappoint! The Louisiana Crabmeat Cakes were superb - so rich in flavor and generous serving for an appetizer. The blackened redfish with crawfish etouffé was sooo delicious. I also like the seafood gumbo although the serving was really small. My son enjoyed his calamari. The place is so laid back but comfortable. Service is great too! Overall, we will be coming back to this place if ever we visit New Orleans again. Recommended!!!!
Karen Chandler
Cajun fries with blackened gator! Sampler good too!
Sheila Rojas
Their drinks were amazing. The bartender advised me to get a mixed margarita, with passion fruit, mango and peach. It was the best drink I ever tried!!
JUAN LEON
We ate out at all sorts of places for four days and nights. This place is number 1.
A little pricey but so worth it. Crab cakes with shrimp on seafood rice $28. Worth every cent.
My partner in crime got herself the crabcake with pasta. Holy Crapola.
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Gina Hope
Best oysters in New Orleans. OMG. Cajun fries are the bomb. BBQ SHRIMP was so good. Get extra bread, to get all that juice. John waited on us. He was great
Jai Lynn Darling
Atmosphere both late evening and late morning on a busy weekend was very friendly and both times waiters were very attentive and friendly. The food was heaven on our plates, the flavor and amount of food for the price was almost a sin!
Linda Wilbanks
Great place. Had breakfast one day and went back for our final celebration dinner. Outstanding food for both meals! Highly recommend!

On the day of Thanksgiving, the store I was looking for was closed, so I entered instead.
We ordered Fresh Oysters On Half Shell, Fried Seafood Platter and Mardi Gras Pasta. Everything was delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. Especially Mardi Gras Pasta has a strong seasoning, and it is delicious even if you put the sauce on the bread! My kids loved it. The store is filled with beautiful murals. I think it's good for tourists.
Cory L
Food and service was GREAT. Catfish, gator bites and BBQ shrimp all tasted perfect. Yum! I will revisit when back in town.
Kimberly Gibson
Redfish and blackened chicken was delicious! Staff was super friendly and my smokin Bahama Mama was out of this world. Best food we have had on our trip!
K Castro
Awesome place to eat quality food. Very popular restaurant among the celebrities as well. We visited during the week and made a 6pm reservation. Restaurant was almost empty considering the bars are still closed on Burbon Street not bringing in tourists. Covid spacing was really good and tables were marked off on which ones not to use. Employees were very respectable and service was awesome as well. Please order the crab cakes as that’s what they’re known for. Super good, won’t disappoint.
Derrick May
The food was incredible! I enjoyed every last bite.
The smoked duck with crawfish etouffee was delicious. I would definitely come back and enjoy this place. Our, server was excellent.
laura arruda
Best Breakfast joint! We got everything on the menu and all was on point! The baileys Irish coffee and Bloody Marys are exquisite - The Karla Experience is for real! Cheers! A must visit!
L Baron
The food here was absolutely amazing and so was the service! I have to say it's our favorite restaurant in New Orleans! Get the loaded fries! If you make this your first stop to eat, you will be disappointed with every meal after, at least that's what happened to us! Nothing could compare!
Rachael Tang
Only giving this place 4 stars bc Downstairs smells like a** so I recommend asking to go upstairs to eat. The biscuits are to die for, honestly best biscuits I’ve ever had in my life. And the mushroom crawfish gravy omggggg I’m salivating. soooooo good. We came for breakfast but I think every meal is probably good.
David Hong
I love the food here. Everything just tastes fresh and made to order. definitely very few things reheated. Got a seafood platter and I was stuffed afterward. There are a bunch of smaller rooms where you can sit here with their own atmosphere and vibe. The service is quick and food comes out quick. The only problem is this is located in a touristy place with prices that are slightly higher than the quality of food.

The Cajun Fries are absolutely heavenly! I described them to my my friend as Louisiana poutine because he was unsure about the crawfish mushroom cream sauce and he enjoyed them as much as I did. Our server was kind enough to bring us a half order at our request because we wanted to save room for entrees. My friend had the stuffed salmon special and I had the barbecued shrimp and both were delicious. The bonus was my cocktail, the Cajun Kool-Aid.

Just got into town. The Limo driver told us about this place.👌 The line was outside about a Half an hour. A table for 6, gratuities already included on the bill split 3 ways, no problems. The Service was 1st rate, the Food was Top Shelf . Our group doesn't mind sharing. Crab cakes & Oysters for appetizers YUMMY. ALL The Food was Excellent 👍👍. This place is not elegant or Pretty but it's Clean.

First time here, my husband and I both loved it! Bloody Mary was amazing! We got the fried gator, redfish with etouffee topping, jambalaya and mashed potatoes as a side and the chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Everything was sooo good! Service was great also!
Kristin
Great service. Very good food. Tried the gator tails which were good. Also had the taste of new Orleans which was 3 new Orleans favorites and it was great for a first time visitor like us. The rack of ribs just fell right off the bone it was so tender. The full rack is a huge portion. And for dessert the creme brulee was one of the best I've had.

So so good both hubby & I enjoyed it. I had the royal omelet & he had the cajun breakfast grits they where so tasty, we have absolutely zero complaints.

Really really really good food- probably some of the best I’ve had in New Orleans. Generous portions at a reasonable price. We were pleasantly surprised because at first glance the place looked a little cheesy. The service was incredibly friendly. I would definitely recommend their gator bites (you can a mix of fried and blackened so that’s a plus). Oysters were big and fresh.
