Fantastic experience! The food was incredible and did not take long to get!!! The staff was friendly, helpful and very observant (never had to ask for a refill or wait on food). Our waiter knew the menu forwards and backwards and gave excellent recommendations. Definitely will be back!

Great service, pleasant, friendly. The food comes in good quantity. I ordered veal parmigiana with spaghetti in tomato and basil sauce. I just didn't give it 5 stars because I think the cheese could stay at the table for us to help ourselves. And I found the sauce a little too sweet for me. But everything was great!

Small place so if you go during peak hours expect a wait. The staff was quick and attentive. We had 2 different small servings of the handmade pasta dishes which were great. The bread pudding I highly recommend.

This is a great little place and I liked that that had gluten free options. However if you are sensitive or celiac I do not recommend it because there was a spaghetti noodle in my gluten free pasta and they were pretty lassiez faire about it. I don't eat gluten because it's a migraine trigger. I'm glad it didn't trigger me, but I wouldn't recommend chancing it. Tastes amazing though!

I had a really great meal here with my family. We shared a pepperoni pizza to start. A tad salty. The toppings all slid off. Overall, pretty tasty though. Entrees, we had the veal picatta, some seafood pasta, and the kids spaghetti and meatballs. Huge portions and very tasty. Could have used a bit more sauce on the picatta. Dessert we had the pumpkin bread pudding and vanilla gelato. Easily one of the best bread puddings I've tried. Not overly sweet though. The service was good, but awkward. Prices are really good. A note to management: when we arrived, we asked for a table for three. You had two tables seated. You asked if we had a reservation. We said no. You took a long gaze into the empty dining room, and then finally seated us with a long sigh... wth? Deducted a star.

I can't remember the name of the dishes we ate but here is a description: shrimp and crab pizza, red sauce pasta w/lamb meatballs, Angel hair pasta w/crab stuffed fish, tiramisu, and hibiscus tea. The food was succulent! Alicia was our server and she was the best. She made our first experience there a need to return.

The Oak Oven for my taste is one of the best Italian Restaurants in the New Orleans area. It blew my mind. I was born in Italy, raised in México till I was 18 years old. Live in Italy for 7 and a half years. The food is exquisite, mind blowing as excelent. Yesterday was my first time ever. I went back today again. Order semething totally different. Exquisite, mind blowing again. The seats are hard, very little comfortable. I understand! The place is small and delicious, they want you to leave quickly. Service was good, Adera the waiter make us feel like Commanders Palace. This place is as great on the food as Irine's or The Italian Barrel in NOLA and Mosca's in Avondale. It's amazing how you find great food in the NOLA area. Grazie Mille. Bellissima. Great time.

I really like this place. I say this with all sincerity but the menu reads like an olive garden menu but instead of everything being garbage everything here is done really well. Especially for the city it's in.

Good service, the food was ok even if it was no salt or pepper in it, lasagna was good, so was the hibiscus tea. But, I do not know how, but i’ve got a peace of the silicone spatula i guess, in my pasta (~ 3cm long white rubbery peace). Please be carefully when you prepare the ingredients and cook the food.

The food was good but in my opinion not good enough for the price and the portion. Grant it the veal in the veal parmesan I had was delicious but for the amount of food you get for almost $20 a plate is not worth it in my opinion. Would I recommend it ... yes but not more than once just because of what I ordered. Happy Italian right down the road is worth every penny compared to this place.

The dining room was very modern and clean. Service was friendly and prompt. Portions we're very small for the price, especially their lunch portions. You will not be full unless you order a soup or salad along with you lunch entree. Food was very tasty, but not a good value.

Dinner this evening, glad we had a reservation. We have eaten here several times and normally I don't want to miss having a pizza, top choice. Well, tonight I wanted to expand my base of reference. I chose the paneed veal with fettuccini alfredo. Probably THE best veal I have had in the past 30 some odd years. Service was excellent, wife and daughter had eggplant parmesan and they were very happy. Top that off with them giving me a generous discount being retired military. Even though we live on the "Bestbank", we will continue to go here. Would love to see one over here.

We love this restaurant for authentic Italian, including handmade pastas. The ravioli is worth the drive, as is the lasagna. Great service and a good value. We come home with leftovers almost every time.

Service was fine. Food was off tonight. Usually get the shrimp sautéed in the pasta and meatballs , came out separate was rubbery and tiny. Pasta and meatballs was cold , sent it back to get heated up , wife finished her food , while I waited on mine. Unfortunately not a good trip this time .

The food was soooo good. We came on a recommendation for the lamb meatballs, but we ended up ordering something else. I had the Paned Veal- oh my gosh so good. Apparently their pasta is made in-house daily. (The lamb meatballs too) They have some fresh bread- so tasty and warm with a slightly crunchy crust and an oh-so-soft center with bits of herb. We will for sure be back!

Nice restaurant with good food. Pizzas are great. Make sure to announce yourself at the counter when you arrive. They do not greet and seat or even acknowledge customers at the door or small waiting area/bench when they are busy. Otherwise great server staff and good food.

Excellent food and service!!! Mike waited on us and since it was our first time eating here fully explained the entire menu as well as all specials. The service was impeccable... food was served at the perfect timing with our entrees served immediately as we finished our salads. We had the lasagna, shrimp diavola and the shrimp pennebella. We also had the spinach ravioli for an appetizer. Everything was absolutely delicious!!! We will definitely be back and will request Mike for our server again.

Food was AMAZING!!! Server was great!!! AWESOME experience!!! All pastas are homemade. I had their ravioli, their shrimp artichoke pasta, calamari with 3 dipping sauces & their bread with olive oil, sun dried tomatoes & herbs was out of this world. They also make their own Sangrias & Gelatos. We are definitely going back next Saturday & for future visits to come.

Amazing gem in Harahan. Pasta Diavola might be my favorite Italian dish in or around the city. Food might take a little longer than some places but it's worth wait. Enjoy your wine and/or calamari and take your time with this great spot.

This spot is small. I visited at 7:00 on a Saturday night. They were very busy but I was seated immediately. We tried several things and all of it was great. I think it adds to the charm that this place used to be a Popeyes. I was a big fan of the fact that you could get 2 different sizes for the pastas. If you like Italian, try it out. They also very graciously substituted veggies for potatoes on a dish we ordered.

We had the pork ravioli, pizza, chicken piccata and veal. Everything was really good. The pork ravioli was the best. The portions were very good size and they were great about subbing the sides for us. The only down side was when we walked in there was no designated hostess which was very confusing and resulted in the people arriving behind us being seated first. The wait was also about a half hr but for 5 people that isn't unreasonable. This place is super busy, I'd suggest a reservation.

We tried for the 1st time and everything was phenomenal. Definitely returning often. Im meat eater and my girl is a vegetarian, the menu had a good amount of options for us both and everything we ate was delicious.

Farm to table restaurant. Food was fantastic, and everything was seasoned perfectly. The pizza rivals that of anything I've had in Italy. Their large group we got to taste several plates of food, and everything tasted great. It's not that big of a place, so if you have a large group you may want to make reservations.

A great find not in the city. Decor is simple but a good social environment. Lightning with edison bulbs. The service from start to finish was very good. The food quality was excellent. Pasta was tender and could have stood by it self with out sauces. Food was flavorful and seasoned just right.

Odd to find a really good restaurant in Harrahan, this place would fit in in the Quarter, up on Magazine, or in Mid City. In other words, it's comfortable, not tacky, and the food is first rate, all things lacking in this neighborhood. The sauces (a liability in this town) are homemade and fantastic. And the pasta is their calling card, made onsite and satisfying. Their beer selection is not great but other than that, this place will make you forget you're in a forest of industrial parks.

When I closed my eyes, I thought I had returned to Italy. The fish and pasta with pesto was excellent and the presentation exquisite. My daughter's entree was also fabulous. The portion was just right. I cannot say enough about the establishment and will be returning soon!

This is as close as it gets to feeling like I am back in Italy. From the fresh bread that starts on the table to the desserts at the end, the experience I have here always excites me to come back. The menu has a good variety without being over whelming. I've had no bad dish and made my way through most the menu. Try the penne diavola as this is my go-to during indecision!

Have been here multiple times since Oak Oven opened, and we have always considered it a special p look ace for dinner. While still good, we denoted subtle changes tonight. The ambience was less warm, the staff were efficient, but the welcoming attitude and caring about customers was missing. Food portions are smaller although the price is higher, the oil/herb mixture for the bread was virtually tasteless, and some herb has been added to the meatballs making them less appealing. We did not have the memorable experience we had come to expect.

This is the best tiny Cafe in Harahan. The best kept secret in New Orleans. I've eaten almost every delectable dish there. Their best dishes are their fresh in-house made pastas & luscious, tropical salads. Great sourdough bread & special wine list. Just go, and you will go back again & again.

The food @ this restaurant is to die for. Everything that I had was good. I can't say that for other restaurants that I've been to. The staff is friendly, the service is good, and the atmosphere is nice. Their prices are reasonable & I would recommend this place to anyone whose looking for good Italian cuisine. I want to send my complements to the kitchen staff for putting out great food every single time. I will be back the next time I come into town.

This is in a former Popeye's fried chicken restaurant, so it's exterior and interior are odd, but they did a good job with it. Lots of customers, here. We ordered side salads ($6.00, each). I had the small Spaghetti & Meatballs ($12.00), and my dinner mates ordered the small Pappardale ($14.00) & Egg Plant Parmesan ($14.00). The bread is delicious, and we were very pleased with all our food, although we found that the portions were on the smallish side (of course, people each overly large portions, these days). We recommend it, and we would return. RJT

The pizza was great! If you're a fan of a brick-oven baked, thin crust, then this is a wonderful choice. I got the Americano pizza and it had the perfect amount of pepperoni.

This delightful little Italian restaurant came out of nowhere! We ate here as soon as it opened, and we were blown away. We have been back many times since for both lunch and dinner. The restaurant has a fresh clean look that feels just slightly whimsical. The food is like nothing I have had before. They have some of the traditional dishes such as veal or chicken parmigiano, veal marsala, etc., and they are great. But the real stars are the more original offerings. We have tried many of the menu items, and it seems like each one we try is better than the last! I think my personal favorite is the penne with rosemary chicken, but the handmade pappardelle with shrimp and artichokes is also mouth-watering. We also love the parmigiano salad. We have tried a few of the pizzas, and they are great, too. Even humble lasagna is elevated to another level at Oak Oven. One really nice thing about Oak Oven is that many of the entrees are offered as either full size or small plates. Oak Oven's prices are VERY reasonable. I am not a big dessert eater, and even less enthusiastic about a simple scoop of "ice cream" for dessert, but I always try to save room for a serving of gelato. It is wonderful.

Meh…chicken marsala sauce too sweet and our friends pizza was delivered almost as we finished. She said it was a meh pizza. Yall need to fine tune a bit.

Tried it last night with my husband, and we Loved it! The soup du jour was pumpkin and crab, which was unbelievable. Nice and spicy and the crabmeat was fresh and in chunks. No imitation crab at this place. The pasta I got is handmade and the pecan crusted chicken I had added on was perfect. The wine list was decent, especially for Metairie. I noticed a few Sicilian reds and no Silver Oak. Well done. The atmosphere is cozy, and I like the patio. This is one of my new favorite places to eat in Metairie!

Great. Pumpkin crab soup. I'm a soup fan, the chef here cares. A ceasar style salad with bacon was great. Pizza was nice with a great crust. Not an inexpensive place. I thought it was a huge surprise in Harahan.

Pros: Very Good Food, the Honey-Hibiscus Tea is refreshing, delicious Tiramisu. (though the cherries on top are a bizarre twist) Cons: Pricey, Cramped, Deafening. That said, I'm hoping the proposed one in Old Metairie is larger, nicer, and quieter.
