Reviews of NOLA Poboys
We were starving and everything was closed... Except this spot. Definitely a hole in the wall type joint but the cashier was so funny and nice and our food was so good. It's definitely a hidden gem!! I had grilled shrimp and veggies (don't judge me) and we tried the fried shrimp platter, catfish platter, shrimp Po boy. Everything was awesome!
First visit in New Orleans and we were told that we had to try a poboy. Since we were already near Royal Street we decided to give Nola Poboys a try. Honestly, it was just ok. The bread had a great crunch on the outside and soft middle. The shrimp were seasoned very well but the sandwich was more bread than shrimp. I assumed Poboys were stuffed to the max from several pictures I've seen but this wasn't the case.
Kind of disappointed since it was my first Poboy. Maybe would give them another try on my next vist but try another spot first.
OMG, this place has the best and awesome food! The way they make their Poboys sandwich is authentic. Grilled shrimp has a decent size and seasoning. Must get the shrimp!
The gumbo seafood must dip it with the bread or else be little salty.
The staff is super friendly!
Highly recommend!
Hands down a must visit in New Orleans. I never write reviews but I had to share my thoughts! The Debris fries were my favorite dish I ate during the week I just spent here. Literally, just wow. Everyone needs to visit New Orleans atleast once in their life. Eat these fries, eat all the food. A foodies dream come true. I can't wait to go back and have these again, there's nothing like em!!!! I also had the fried Oyster sandwich and my son had the grilled cheese, bomb!
The grilled shrimp po boy was amazing. Wanted to stand up and clap but instead headed up to front and told them BRAVO! The staff was very nice. The spot was clean. Probably the cheapest po boys on Bourbon St. The experience of eating there felt like I was taken back to the olden days. Loved it and highly recommend you try this place out.
The small was huge. I certainly did not finish it.
Nola poyboys from the outside looks like a tourist trap, however it was truly authentic. Plenty of seating and quick service. The roast beef, spicy sausage, and barbecue shrimp was all excellent. The manager even came around and asked us how it was, definitely recommend.
Friends recommended NOLA Poboys as a must try stop on our stay in New Orleans. It didnt look to be any different than most of the shops in the tourist areas but the food was really good. We all enjoyed our lunches. The half sandwich I had was enough for two. I'd give them another try. There were so many items on the menu I wanted to sample.
There is literally always a line out the door for this place, but it is so worth the wait. The breading is slightly spicy, which I love. Highly suggest getting the soft-shelled crab poboy. You won't be disappointed!
My wife and I were feeling Poboys and she wanted a fried oyster one so we decided to stop in here. Was pretty busy for a late lunch but they had plenty of seating inside and also a sitting area outside. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
I went with the cashier's recommendation of a surf and turf. I went fried shrimp instead of fried oysters. The surf and turf also comes with roast beef(turf). My wife had the fried oyster Poboy.
Both were exceptional. Will definitely come back and eat some more poboys when I'm back in NOLA.
Great service and atmosphere! We loved the gator po boy-it had the right amount of toppings. The server made our visit memorable and fun. The boudin balls were also good. The 8 inch po boy is big enough to share, making this a more affordable dining option.
We had a great experience at NOLA Poboys! The menu was a dream! It took us longer to decide then the rest of the experience.
My husband got the shrimp poboy - Cursing Murray, in the morning. (He was slightly cursing in the morning) The bread was great! Perfect crust and soft inside. We wonder now about the specialty poboys with Gumbo or crawfish bisque!
It was wonderful seeing some regulars help out some tourists and the community the establishment fosters.
famous fast food kind of place so there's always a line to place an order. takes about 15-20 minutes to get your food after placing it but definitely worth the wait. not much of a po boy fan but I'd have it again if it's from this place, it was not dry and i like the spiciness on the fried option.
Food is just delicious, had gumbo for the first time here. All of their menu was so good we came back the next day when walking around bourbon street for fried oysters and crawfish poboys. Highly recommend. The cashier also recognized us when we went there second time.
We never miss coming here at least once every time we are in New Orleans. The food is spectacular! My favorite is the seafood bisque. It’s a perfect balance of flavors. My husband loves the muffuletta
Came here for the muffuletta, left here with a satisfied and full stomach. Very impressed... Had the half size, which was more than enough for a single person portion. The sesame seed bread had crunchy and flavor, the meat was fresh, cheese melted, and the muffuletta was hearty.
Staff was very pleasant, and order came in about 10 minutes on a Tuesday night.
This place gets busy but food comes out quickly. The menu is huge, so many options. We ordered an 8in poboy & cup of seafood soup was plenty of food for two people. The soup was delicious but not spicy.
The food was very tasty... we had the crab cakes shrimp the fish platter and seafood platter. The service was not so great. We got our food the young lady never came back to check on us. I trained in customer service and was disappointed..
The food was good, I ordered a hot sausage Poboy with no tomatoes. It came correct! Everything was HOT. It all tasted good. The fries were OK, it was the gravy pot roast nacho cheese fries. i also ordered a mug root beer which was sort of flat give or take. but the women that were assisting us with the food were very friendly the crowd was mediocre they have a lot of desserts yet theyre too high for quality. One scoop of icecream is $5 LOL!! but the cheesecake looked delicious!! I would go back.
If you want the original, classic po'boys experience, this is the place to get it. While ingredients are simple, it really highlights the shrimp as the main character in the dish. Batter is super crispy and flavorful with a pretty decent kick in spice. The 8" fried shrimp is plenty for two to share for a light lunch. Highly recommend coming to see what the craze is about!
Surf n turf (roast beef and fried shrimp) sounds weird on a sandwich but wow it is so good.
Crispy Shrimp is seasoned well and the roast beef so juicy. With the tomatoes and sauce inside this sandwich, wow i’m impressed 10/10.
We came in around noon to grab a poboy for lunch. We ordered the 12 inch fried shrimp poboy. It was very filling to split it between the two of us. The Poboy itself was delicious. There were A few people but not crowded so dining in as pleasant.
Thursday before Halloween, I’ve checked into my hotel and my friend has been at work for a few hours. I’m starting to get hungry and because Nola Poboys is nearby and on my list of places I haven’t visited but want to, it’s where I go. It’s also where a lot of other people have chosen to go. Thankfully, the line moves pretty quickly. Once I’m in front, I’ve decided on the 8 inch Pot Roast Poboy. It probably takes about ten minutes to be ready, and I leave with my carefully wrapped prize. Once outside, I decide not to eat solo and head to where my friend is working, so I can share the Pot Roast Poboy. It was definitely delicious and I know I’ll be back to try other items from Nola Poboys.
Delicious shrimp and chicken poboys. The owner John is really nice. We ate twice from overthere during our stay. Large portion too. Really recommend!
Shrimp Po Boy was ok to good. Nothing special. The sandwich didn't include fries. The sandwich didn't have as much shrimp as other local spots. I had to open the sandwich to pull some shrimp to take a picture. Looks super small but they have a lot of room in the back to sit. The gumbo was heavy on the okra and light on the meat.
Don’t judge a book by its cover. This place has delicious food and a friendly staff. Shrimp poboy and debris fries were amazing. Very good gumbo too. I’ll make this a stop every time I visit NOLA!
I really enjoyed this place!! The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. I had my first ever muffuletta and it did not disappoint! Can’t get that back home in Chicago. The 1/2 size sandwich was HUGE! And my wife really liked the Shrimp Poboy. Highly recommend this restaurant
I just didn’t see what all the great reviews were about. The food was alright at best… nothing to phone home about. FYI they do pass on the credit card fee to the patrons so keep that in mind if you want to use your cards. Our food included a bisque that we were told was like an etouffee (but it really wasn't), oyster plate, gumbo bowl, gator balls, and Bedouin balls with 2 drinks and pepcid a/c (because their food runs on the spicy side lol). the bill ended up being over $85 (2 people).
Edit: The hole-in-the-wall decor with all the band and local scene flyers tacked up everywhere (including the ceiling) were very interesting and the man at the counter was knowledgeable. We were entertained at the very least :) We were grateful for their late night hours also! Very commutable distance to our hotel 2-1/2 blocks over in the French Quarter.
All in all, it was an experience.
This is one of the best places I had since I been in New Orleans, they have the best red beans & rice, my wife don’t eat red beans & rice, we got some to go, we got back to our hotel rm she couldn’t stop eat them.
Came here intially during a food tour to sample their Muffaletta & Roast Beef Po'boy. They were so good we came back that night for a late dinner. I'm almost ashamed to admit I never thought of roast beef on a po'boy. Always thought of that as a fried oyster or shrimp sandwich.
Never be afraid to expand ur taste buds.
Hands down the BEST fried shrimp Poboy in Nola. That crawfish pie was extremely flavorful and one of my favorite things I have tried while in New Orleans. I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the goodness that is offered on the menu.
I ordered a crawfish bun($9.99+tax), which surprised me with good flavor and big portion of fries! People there are kind and friendly. I love this place. I will def come back.
You can find everything famous on their menu!!
Everything!!
Great vegetarian options as well!
Food was tasty!! We loved it!!
There was queue and we got the order in 15 minutes.
Restroom needs improvements.
We stopped to get lunch. The service was ok. My husband chose roast beef Poboy and it was good. I made a mistake of ordering catfish basket. There was one catfish fillet and a huge amount of fries. The food was fine though nothing special. We live in Florida and used to eat fresh seafood. Probably, won’t eat here again.
Lookin for a poboy. Don't look any further. Hands down the best poboy on the planet! I also found my new love of Crystals Hot Sause there. I am planning on making that trip again, and yes, I will be making that walk back to NOLA Poboys for a shrimp, Poboy!!!
You truly go in there for their food! May it be to halt your hungry or to sober you up!! They have the best muffaletta around. Staff is very friendly.
Da Yat (friend shrimp poboy smothered in gumbo). Grab extra napkins and be prepared for a messy experience, if you're not into messy foods, order something else. If you're like me, and know that sometimes the messiest food is the best, then you'll love this. So delicious, will be back.
Very nice Poboys, my wife had catfish and I had crawfish, decent portions and the small chips (fries) were nice and crispy. With a can of Coke the total was $34 which for a couple of rolls, fries and a drink seems a bit pricey but the reviews and location make it understandable. Worth a visit definitely.
We visited this location on a food tour through Tastebud Food Tours and their Poboys and sandwiches were excellent. We had a roast beef poboy that has amazing gravy and a Muffaletta that was incredible. Highly recommend this place and Tastebud Food tours.
Amazing fried shrimp Po'Boy. (Had with side of Gumbo). Bread was nice (not Subway type bread), Shrimp was on point. Thoroughly enjoyed. NB: THEY DO ASK FOR COVID VAXX STATUS. Bit of a tickbox exercise cos the guy didn't cross check card with any ID (so could be anyone!), If you don't have Proof - outdoor seating. BUT, Food-wise RECOMMEND
Wow 😯 it was just amazing you need to try this place !!!! Not fancy but the food WOW it have soul !!! We can’t wait to be back! Creole food Cajun
Since Central closed we were looking for the next best muffuletta… this one may be my new favorite. It was SO good. We’ve had their po boys, and everyone already knows those are insane. They also have our fave red beans and rice in the area.
Also, in case you don’t know how the sizing works, what’s pictured here is a half order. Definitely enough for two people.
We went today on our way out of town. The best cheese fries we’ve ever had! Miss T took such great care of us as we had all of our luggage with us. We will be back!
Share the large poboy and enjoy some sides. The variety of sandwiches gives many choices and all taste wonderful. The fried food is billed as spicy but it is not too spicy. Don’t get the yankee flavor unless you really can’t take mild heat.
The poboys were so good. We got catfish and a shrimp poboy and we were very satisfied. I am normally a big eater but I ate half of a 8 inch. The sno-ball was pretty big for a small. I plan to come back and try the muffuletta. I will probably share that with someone else.
This place is good! Great for lunch or eating late! Inside and outdoor seating. Eat in or take to go.
Pro tip order a spicy fried Shrimp or fried oyster Poboy and add gumbo to it..
I really liked the chicken and andouille gumbo. It was hot, savory, and spicy. I loved the flavours and texture of the roux.
The boudin balls were hot fresh and served with a remoulade dipping sauce.
The remoulade sauce also goes great on the Poboy.
Best and largest selection of food on bourbon st. Staff is awesome always pleasant. Never had a poboy that was not amazing. However if your heat sensitive…. I do not recommend cursing Murray !!
The Poboys taste awesome! They are $13.99 each for 8". Comes with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. Pricey but worth it.
Halloween night, after a ghost tour, it was one of the only late night places open. The menu could be overwhelming, but the employee was very helpful. The po boy was delicious, “yankee”-not spicy. Cheesecake was good too.
Ordered Who Dat on a bun and it was amazing. So mad I don't live closer because just looking at the picture makes my mouth water. Definitely ordering the poboy version next time I'm in town.
Don’t skip this place! The crawfish poboy put just enough pep in my step to stumble back to the Airbnb after having a few too many sazeracs and edibles at Fritzels. I also ordered me some gator balls, which did not disappoint. As a born and bred Midwesterner, I’m a little taken aback by the dearth of tartar sauce and ranch dressing in this city - either (or preferably both) would only enhance this experience. But I’m not here to tell NOLA how to be, when they’re crushing it with food that’s this incredible.
Had the Surf and Turf po’boy and it was amazeballs. Fried shrimp, pot roast and gravy. Three spice levels- standard is spicy, Yankee is mild and Cursing Murray In The Morning is extra spicy. We got Cursing Murray and it was delish. A nice kick but nothing painful, not enough to make your nose start running. Will definitely come back next time I’m in NOLA!
Oh. My. God. You HAVE to visit this place. I ordered the fried okra and gumbo shrimp poboy and was in heaven. Love everything about this place.
I stopped in because I had a Bourdain craving and decided to get the order of 3 Bourdain balls. The Bourdain balls were spicy & crunchy on the outside and full of good ole flavor on the inside. The gentleman that took my order was very nice. The Bourdain was a little pricey for my taste but hell, everything is nowadays.
Awesome Po Boys! The staff were friendly, their recommendations were delicious and they were super accommodating of my partner's shelfish allergy. Definitely recommend the fried okra, Who Dat, Catfish or the Dabris pot roast!!
The food was good we did a takeout tried their fried okra and po boy chicken sandwich which was good. The service was quick and the food had good quantity
Probably my favorite spot in New Orleans for PO boys. They make em kinda spicy which I like. I usually go with the shrimp but, I also like the catfish. The gumbo is also really good here.
Good but pricey for the serving size. Small seafood bisque, 4oz-ish $8.49 without tax. Unfortunately the bathrooms aren’t the cleanest.
The best poboy I've ever eaten! Just as tasty leftovers the next morning. I got the shrimp and crawfish (my mouth is watering as I type this), and it was jam-packed with meat. Not a single bite was lacking. Don't let the price scare you, every cent is WORTH IT. Sweet service from an older gentleman as well. Without a doubt, a must visit if you're in town. Hey, I might even argue you should visit just FOR one of these sandwiches. Mhm mhm mhm!
Just go! I was absolutely blown away, maybe the best po’ boy I’ve had in my LIFE! The oysters were perfectly cooked, lovely sauce and crispy delicious bread. We also had the boudin balls which were more boudin than bread, normally not the case. A must-visit when in NOLA!
MY FAVE CATFISH POBOY! The fried okras are amazing too.
The place might not look fancy but the food is amazing. And the staff is super friendly.
Definitely the best Po Boys I've had throughout my visits to NOLA... maybe even the best meal I had, during my last visit.
The service is great, even late. They just seem happy to see you, and want you to have your sandwich that is gonna make you happy.
My first visit this weekend, I was a little drunk... and didn't get to karaoke yet, so while waiting on my food at Nola Poboys, I started singing, Hurricane by Band of Heathens... they didn't kick me out! The whole place sang along with me.
Great place, highly recommend.
First time having a po’boy (poor boy? Poboy?). It’s basically a hoagie/submarine sandwich. I had a turkey poboy and they put a lot of meat on there. I’m not sure if that’s what makes it distinctive from other similar sandwiches. They give you the option of getting it hot or cold. I got mine hot but it just made the sandwich dry. If you like sandwiches like this I think you’ll be satisfied.
In the big easy and need something greasy! Fried cat fish, fried shrimp po boys and muffuletta from NOLA Poboys will do the trick!
Super friendly service, great decor and no terrible price gauging being in the French Quarter. Solid poboys and much more seating in the back.
Amazing sandwiches. The mufelleta was definitely the highlight. As good as the roast beef poboy was, I am more of a seafood guy. We were here as part of a food tour. I want to go back and try the seafood. But I recommend this place, mufelleta was excellent!
NOLA Poboys on Bourbon St... Phenomenal! I had the Who Dat Poboy - Spicy Fried Shrimp smothered in Crawfish Bisque, dressed. Favorite poboy to date for me. My wife got Crawfish Poboy and my son got a order of red beans and rice, both of them loved it. We also go six spicy Boudin balls, they were so good they didn't need any type of dipping sauce.
This place is AWESOME!!! The menu can be overwhelming with so many choices, but we visited twice and let me tell you... you can't go wrong, at all. We tried the fried okra (my fave Always), Surf n turf (f'ing delish), the shrimp po'boy... OMFG and the fried catfish YESSSS PLEASE!!! You must eat here... as much as you can, I guarantee you'll love it!!!
The service was great. Very welcoming and friendly staff. As of 9.21.21 you need to show you're vaccinated or you cannot come in. You can order from the door if not. The food is cooked to order and comes out hot.
The staff member who took my order was very gracious! Lots of options, even for veggos. Try the fried okra.
Amazing Crawfish Po Boy, love the spice! Charboiled oysters were some of the best I've had. 👌 a must while in New Orleans
The wait for a Monday was long but it was worth it. I ate my Po Boy cold and it was still good which means a lot. So of you're on Bourbon and want a boy try them out.
Staff was VERY friendly and inviting. Best Po' boys my wife and I ever had. She got the fried Shrimp Po boy and I got the fries alligator. We both got ours spicy and while they were spicy it wasn't too overwhelming and didn't really make our nose or eyes water or anything.
Seriously great food and open until 3am on weekends what more could you want!
Excellent poboy and fried okra! My wife had the veggie poboy and it was loaded with a lot of different delicious vegetables. I definitely recommend.
The food was amazing both times we were there this week. Great asmosphere and service. The muffaletta is now my favorite..
Food was good. I'm not a huge fan of po'boys. But it was nice and served well.
I wanted cheese fries they made it happen..
Popular place. We got on line at about 1pm, ordered at around 1:55pm, and got our giant po boys after 3pm. Our fried shrimp po boys were full of hot juicy fried shrimp, and the bread was crunchy and not heavy. Worth the wait!
Friendly service...great menu choices.
On a hot day this was the bert spot to grab a cold drink. We got snow cones...they have outside seating area while it rained for about 20 min lol...just what we needed to cool down!
The menu choices sound bomb i wanted food but we just had lunch but next time the food is a must try.
Hubs and I enjoyed our sandwiches. The spicy sandwiches were only mildly spicy, definitely doable for those not accustomed to spicy foods.
May have been the best Po Boy I have had... half fried shrimp and half fried oyster... and the seafood was fried right!!! It was an excellent sandwich!!!
Had a variety of dishes from the Debris Fries to the Poboys. The food was awesome with huge portions. Don't let the long line discourage you, it moves pretty fast. Great food, and I definitely recommend going. We will be back.
Great place to go for one the best Poboys before Bourbon Parties or after! Lots of vegetarian and vegan friendly options. Its a cool small shack to hangout when walking along the Bourbon Street. Service was friendly, however did take a long time considering it was a Friday night.
The fried shrimp po boy and the gumbo were pretty good. The place is decorated nicely, and there is ample seating. They were only taking cash at the time.
Nola Poboys is in the heart of bourbon. Customer service is always above and beyond. Menu selection is way too much and great. Therefore there is always something for everybody. Food always smell and taste yummmmy, delicious and GREAAAATTTTT. I recommend the brisket fries, they are the bomb and hit the spot everytime.
We could see the line a mile away.... and that only confirmed that we absolutely had to eat here. The po boys are delicious! The food is well seasoned, the proportions are great and we left with full bellies! 10/10 must try again! We plan to make this a must stop from here on out when we visit!
Great place with a large selection of poboys. Highly recommend the surf and turf poboy.
Had the grilled shrimp po boy and it was so good! Also ordered tater tots and sweet potato fries. They were crispy and hot but came with no spices on top or a dipping sauce to go with them. The place itself was a bit sketchy. Could have been cleaner and nicer..
The pot roast Po Boy and alligator bites were amazing!! Great first experience for both NOLA delicacies and an even better experience with such great staff. They went above and beyond and offered us multiple ice cream samples which were delish! I highly recommend this place!
I came here about 5 days ago. I had ordered a spicy fried shrimp po' boy with seafood gumbo while my friend ordered a mild fried shrimp po' boy with fries. And let me tell you, it was hot, delicious and fresh! They stuff you with alot of shrimps. Next time I visit New Orleans I will definitely come back. It was my first time trying po' boy also.
10/22/22 Stopped in today, I always go here when I visit Nola everything is very good and delicious!! The Soft Shell and Roast Beef poboy is a delight, and the Muffuletta is great ,this is a gem. John and his Team is Wonderful. Lynn Jaynes
Nola PoBoy is a must do, the RoastBeef Poboy is a party for your Tastebuds, so is the Seafood Gumbo, Everything is delicious! I would like to take Nola Poboy home with me, Enjoy!
Big menu tasty foo!
No alcohol, a rarity for this area.
Decent spice to the fried dishes, though not as hot as they make it put to be.
Fair amount of seating, but lines will form.
Food prepped one at a time so you aren't likely to get your meal at the same time if a party of 3 or more.
10/10 recommend stopping in here for a bite to eat while you’re on bourbon street. It’s a super casual joint, but the food was incredible
Absolutely loved everything we had at NOLA Poboys. Their boudin was delicious and moist. Even my okra hating husband enjoyed the fried okra. The muffaletta was so tasty, and the Poboys are fantastic. Definitely stop by, and if the line is long it is 100% worth the wait
Great place for a late night snack. The ice cream sandwich is very good!
Good sandwiches, extremely convenient, cool ppl who work there. Definitely try one of the specialty sandwiches like the "Who Dat"
Located at the far end of Bourbon Street, this place offers a variety of fried favorites and poboys that hit the spot!
Great people and atmosphere. The muffuletta is huge and packed with flavor. The okra was fantastic. You get a bit of spice in the beginning and then another hit at the end, they're a must order snack. The crawfish hand pies have excellent flavor and there's plenty of filling. All of the food was fresh and hot. This is a French Quarter must.
Had to come here on our trip to New Orleans! They have a very friendly staff. Service was fast! I had the fried shrimp po boy and it was spicy and so delicious! Will definitely come back next time!
A delicious shrimp po boy sandwich ! Every thing was fresh and tasty.
Huge variety of menu options. Seems overwhelming at first but staff is very friendly and helpful. Very good po'boys, I tried the fried chicken and would get it again. The Debris fries were incredible and the serving size was huge!
When in NOLA this place is a must for po’boys, we ordered the large shrimp po boy and it was great! not shy on the shrimp portions or size, the large is perfect to share! Would highly recommend this place don’t let the outside fool you, great friendly staff also, place was a bit small but our party of 8 had plenty of room.👍 …
They mean it when they say that their fried food is spicy! The flavor is so good that I have my heartburn relief handy ‘cause I’m eating this sucker. This place gets serious points for their old Shim Sham posters.
Definitely my go to spot for Po'boys. My husband enjoyed his crawfish and my shrimp was so good and full of them!!! When I'm in Nola this is the only place I'm going for Po'boys. And I'm so greedy I ordered a shrimp basket as well and that was delicious and full of shrimp too!!!! hands down the best!!!!
Good lord, what a good Poboy (we had surf/turf and catfish)! In addition owner is genuinely nice person bringing me German chocolate ice cream sample because I was from Germany and chatting with me about Germany. What a nice place!
Excellent Cajun food! Lots of flavor & spice!!! These people know how to cook. Definitely recommend. After so many disappointments with food in New Orleans, my husband & I were thankful we found this gem. Very nice & welcoming staff. AAA++++++
I got the shrimp poboy for lunch and it was delicious. At first, I was like it's good but something is missing... Then the waitress came by with this sauce and it was just what it needed. Nice size shrimp that was seasoned nicely. I hate getting poboys that are all bread and I am happy to say this was not an all bread poboy!
First place I went to eat in my first trip to New Orleans. It did not disappoint! Overwhelming menu but got help from the server. That suggestion was so good I didn't take a picture of it. I got a Who Dat Po'boy. Simply Delicious! Not a speckle of food was left in my plate.
I ate here 3 nights in a row. I don't care for seafood, but I had fried oysters, fried chicken, and fried shrimp. If I didn't have to go back home, I'd have to move in 😂
Very kind and patient staff, despite the drunk and unruly people that simple in at 1am.
When I asked around for who had the best Po'boys in New Orleans, this place was the consistent answer. Rightfully so. The food was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. I had the fried shrimp and crawfish bisque and it was absolutely amazing.
Delicious catfish po'boys and muffaletta sandwiches.
Small place, very busy, we lucked out and got a booth to sit and eat our sandwiches.
It's Bourbon Street, the atmosphere is self-explanatory. 😆 Nothing fancy here but it was clean and we were able to eat our food comfortably.
I had a shrimp po' boy which was delicious and actually lasted me until dinner. I definitely would come back to this spot to get another one and try the gumbo Po Boy. The owner is very friendly and the staff is really cool and pleasant
ive been here before and thought it was pretty good! i got a basket of fried shrimp and fries that were great. this time, in the po boys i got, the fish wasnt done all the way and the shrimp was a little rubbery. i wasnt thrilled with the sandwiches but the fries as usual were incredible and the service friendly.
The Who Dat po boy was so good! Also tried the fried okra. If you like fried okra it's one of the best I've ever tasted. We got our food to go. The staff was very friendly (which I appreciated as a tourist).
Spicy shrimp had good flavor and fresh shrimp. Didn't like that everything was a la carte. Combos would have been nice but overall good food. I'd come back.
Food is awesome! The prices are wrong. Board said small sandwich was 9 and change. They charged 16 and change. Also, lots of homeless beggars in the area. More beggars than tourists. Go during daylight hours, in groups for safety.
Favorite poboy in all of New Orleans! We visit multiple times when we are in town, and Nola Poboys is always the first stop when back in town. Hubs loves the hot roast beef and I love the fried shrimp, but am definately at yankee heat level. And always awesome service! We once walked the entire quarter in a massive downpour just to eat one more time before leaving town. Will be back for sure!
Food was good bro the old man that took my order was literally insulating my name. I usually don't care about stuff but the disrespect was insane. Lady who gave me my food was super nice though!
The alligator basket is not worth it. The other reviews said it was excellent but the order I had was not. The alligator bites were mostly flour batter and not much meat served with fries. I practically paid $17.99 for overpriced fries.
Went there for lunch and whilst the staff were friendly, the srrvice did take a while. The food was pretty average. The seasoning on the chips was the best bit. Would recommend for a budget lunch and is a bit out of the way from all the noise too.
We arrived in a small group and each ordered a different poboy so we could all share. There was a long line but it moved quickly, and the sandwiches were delivered to our table without having to wait too long.
All of the sandwiches we tried were delicious, but my favorite was the Who Dat. I would happily eat a plate of just the shrimp in that sandwich, but the whole sandwich took it to another level.
The walls were decorated with various Mardi Gras memoribelia which was a nice touch.
One of my favorite food spots in NOLA. Better variety than any other poboy shop. Gator Spicy is my jam, boudin balls are exceptional, pair with a sno cone and a cup of gumbo for dippin' and you've got all the NOLA in your belly you could wish for. Wall decor is local art and ceiling is covered in concert posters. Great service, food cooked to-order always fresh never sitting around lingering under a heat lamp.
The food is always consistent. The portions are always big. As a local with so many places to choose from it is a compliment when locals keeping coming back. The best poboys in the city.
We eat there twice on our recent visit… and OMG!!
Just go, it’s freaking awesome!! The muffuletta, the jambalaya and the the hot roast beef dressed!! You can’t go wrong.
The food was amazing but the service makes it 5 stars. Hilarious cashier and such sweet girls running the food. I’m still dreaming about the seafood bisque 🤤
This meal was so good we went twice during our 3 day visit. The Da-Bris Pot Roast, red beans and rice and sautéed shrimp were AMAZING.
Best shrimp poboy!! Fried okra is spicy and delicious 😋
Everything was great. Why 4 not 5 stars because po boy was with mayonnaise. I had another po boy elsewhere with remoulade and it made an incredible difference just that. Otherwise, gumbo delicious, po boy shrimp fried perfectly delicious.
Clean simple place! Very affordable and fresh food. I would only recommend to add more tomatoes and sauce, shrimp poboys was delicious, but just a bit dry!
My first experience with Po'Boys, and it did NOT disappoint. This establishment is nestled in the center of the French Quarter, and is extremely accessible. The person at the register was friendly and had great recommendations... So much that even a fellow customer overheard that he had recommended the Fried Shrimp Po'Boy agreed out loud. He also recommended the red beans and rice, and it was my first try of a traditional Louisiana dish.
Both dishes did not disappoint at all. The spicy tang of the fried shrimp was not overpowering, but enough for you to feel the heat just a touch. The bread was soft, and it made me wish I got the 12inch instead of the 8 inch. The red beans and rice were "mama's recipe". Absolutely delicious! It came out piping hot and I honestly could eat just that as a full meal on its own.
I definitely recommend this restaurant, and will be coming back to try more things on their menu!
Enjoyed a fried oyster poboy. Spouse had grilled shrimp on a bun.. The Crawfish pie was interesting.Get there at opening for no lines.
Good grub. Seems the crab escaped before getting to the loaf. Tight quarters, but maybe the French liked that. Gator balls were ordered spicy and they came that way. Gumbo was good, but had better. Muffalleto was delish.
The shrimp Poboy was really good. Service was fast.
Large portions, good food, somewhat rude staff
Good food. Enjoyed the alligator snack 😊 …
Great stop for lunch after a long day of walking. The guy behind the counter was super friendly and helpful. I loved the catfish and my wife loved the muffuletta. It was HUGE. Two people could split a half of you weren't super hungry. A little pricey but honestly it was very tasty and filling. We left happy, satisfied, and full. Will come back soon, and I'll try in vain to make catfish as good back home.
This place is delicious. Eat here for sure. We discovered this place Jan 2018 while here for my birthday and have been back every time we are in NOLA. Their gravy fries are the best in the city. Fried okra is on point. The crawfish pie is delicious. The shrimp is delicious and actually spicy! Everything we have had here has been a treat! And it's open late night. Happy Texans over here.
Great late night spot. Got a dipped po boy it was tremendous. Also my friend Doug tried to kiss me here, that was wackadoo. Lots of sides as well.
Delicious! You must go here for a shrimp po boy. My husband and I shared an 8” po boy as a late night snack and it was the perfect portion. $17 for a po boy and a soda, but it tasted so good it was worth the price.
First poboys we ever had in Nola. Not a bad experience compared to the ones we had after, but also nothing to call home about either. The restaurant was cool and they made a lot of seating out of the small location they had. Rowdy customers in there egged on by servers made for a weird dining experience...
My family & I stopped here during our trip to New Orleans last year. I had the Shrimp Po'Boy & my husband ordered a Shrimp dinner. The food was perfectly seasoned. It was so good we stopped by to eat again before heading home. Lol. We'll definitely be returning the next time we're in town!
Great place, must try there French bread sandwiches. It’s definitely worth it. Enjoy some pictures. There men’s bathroom was interesting so I took/posted its pictures also
Food was so tasty that we had to back before we left. No frills, order your food, get your drinks and enjoy a great Po boy
Stopped in after a ghost tour, and the Catfish Poboy was absolutely amazing. Also ordered the Alligator Platter which was also good and spicy. Just wish it came with more Gator in the meal. The portion was small for the price.
We were told that this place has the BEST shrimp Poboys in the French Quarters so, we stopped by. The taste was great however, a little too Sicky for me. I'm from Atlanta and the spicy is not the same as here. The first time my sandwich wasn't made right but the owner was very pleasant and had the sandwich made over very quickly. The fried okra was too spicy for me so I had to leave it. The seafood Gumbo was amazing. Seasoned well and just the right portion amount. This is an al a carte place so, ... We ordered two 6-8" inch shrimp po boys, one $2 bottle water, canned Sprite, fries, fried okra and a seafood Gumbo for $50. It was a good experience and I can say I did it but I don't have to go back. 😊. Enjoy
What a great meal. How can you come to the home of partying and not grab a Gulf Coast tradition. The Shrimp Po-Boy here is amazing. The right amount of bread, fried shrimp, and fixins to make a great meal. Add an order of cheese fries for that extra experience.
The service was friendly, the food arrived quickly, and it was tasty as well. Word of warning, the menu tells you that the fried foods are spicy, and that's exactly what it was. I love spicy so I enjoyed meal. You can get it mild or even spicier if that's your thing.
Oh and that pic is only half of the 8" Po-Boy, I couldn't have handled the 12".
Awesome food! Friendliest staff ever and that was just the opening. I walked in having no idea what to order except I wanted a PoBoy and the guy behind the counter recommended pot roast and gave me a run through of what it was. I got that one and will get it again before I leave, it was SO GOOD. Great welcome, great people, great food.
(My pics don’t do it justice, seriously. The vegetables in the PoBoy were crips and flavorful too, I highly recommend this place)
The fried okra from this place was the best thing I had during my 3 day trip to NO. The breading has amazing flavor and a little spice.
I got the very spicy fried shrimp po boy and it was so amazing! There was such a good flavor, if I would have had more time in new Orleans I definitely would have stopped there again! It is definitely a must when in new orleans, cause did you really go if you didnt get a po boy? The workers there were also all very nice as well
Fried alligator was pretty nice, crowd was non-stop. Overall wonderful comfort food! 🤤 …
Shrimp Poboy was delicious; they say it's spicy but it inky has minimal kick.
Fried okra is the best. Great stop especially if you love spicy and real spicy..
So the shrimps are a nice size but customer service and prices not worth the trip unless your desperately hunger no napkins and the counter lady had an attitude when my friend asked for an extra bag. The roast beef was the plainest roast beef jn the quarter nothing special for a 16 dollar foot long and a twenty dollar 12 inch shrimp.
Nice Po boys. They offer two sizes for the Po boys and other sandwiches. The fries where awesome. They also offer different levels of spicy sauces, and have some kids menu items which make it family friendly. It’s a very popular place, so be prepared to wait
Really cool vibes in this place, and such amazing hospitality! My friends and I absolutely loved our lunch here! I got the 8" fried shrimp po-boy and it was super satisfying.
The food was very tasty. I ordered the pinto beans and rice because I did not want any meat; however the side dish was cooked with sausage in it. So vegans be aware.
My husband and I came from Florida to New Orleans just for the night. We were hungry and came across this little sub shop. As we walked inside we were greeted right away. The nice woman explained how to order food and sit down, when it's ready she will bring it to us. My husband ordered black beans and rice, plus a small ff. I got a cup of seafood bisque! It did have a little kick. Not to bad at all. In states up on that colorful menu board that all of there food are spicy. Some dishes more than others! It was very delicious! I definitely would recommend NOLA Poboys to everyone!!😊
Oh my, the muffleta is absolutely scrumptious. Restaurant ambiance is fun and clever. Give it a try when you're in NOLA.
Must try place!
Poboys were amazing. The bisque and cheese fries were great. Would definitely recommend and will go again when back in town.
Shrimp (extra spicy) and the Roast Beef Po'Boys are totally worth trying out.
Beware*** if you're male and wearing a tank top... the male workers will hit on you.
Friendly but totally unexpected and unwarranted. Haha
Location and prices make this place worth checking out.
Best catfish in New Orleans! Service is great in the daytime, mediocre at night....but the catfish is so good that it overpowers the nasty attitudes of the night staff. Will return again...and again...
Best place so far. Loved the spicey food. Everything is clean and super flavorful. Alligator bites were AMAZING!!!!!!!. Also, the cashier was super awesome he gave us recommendations for some really awesome local food that turned out to be perfect.
Dive-y po-boy shop on Bourbon St open late. This was our first meal in New Orleans, and it was a great introduction into the city. Came around 11pm after walking along Bourbon St and waited in line for about 30 minutes. There are sandwiches as well as po’boys, which they distinctly make clear by pointing out the different type of bread used. Their standard is to have the meat choice be spicy, although you can ask to make it spicier or not spicy depending on the style. We ordered a fried crawfish and a sausage po’boy for the four of us (2 8-inches) and it was good to satiate your hunger, but if you’re hungry get the 12in and split that with someone else. There is more seating in the back. It’s not the cleanest place and service was obviously not happy to be there, but the food makes this absolutely worth a visit.
First time in NO and heard a lot about this place. Super good food and friendly staff.
It’s good if you are looking for a quick dinner! Nice service.
Good service, good food. I had the alligator po’boy.
No alcohol served - but they allow outside drinks. So you can go to the bar across the street while you wait for your food and bring it in.
Also be prepared to show your Vaccine card and ID if you wanna dine in. Non vaxxed people have to order at the door.
Overall a good place to get your po’boy fill if you’re visiting New Orleans. I will definitely be back when I’m in town again.
Fantastic poboys! The poboy that was smothered in gumbo (Da Yat) was amazing!!
I was looking for a lunch spot and was undecided on where to eat. It wasn't until I believe it was the owner who walked our and he was calling out to a friend. His energy just lured me in. And glad I went!
This was a great restaurant to get some gumbo at 11 o'clock peri'm going to clock. I was hungry and they delivered some amazing gumbo so I could carry on through my night and I will come back here in the future for sure
Delicious ! Great customer service ! Enjoyed very thing with a hint of spice
We went because of a food tour and honestly didn't want to leave. The beef po boy was the best we had!
Friendly service, really good quality (we had the gator tail) and servings. Overall a good value and very enjoyable experience.
This place has some really good poboys. Picked up the alligator one and it was a decent size with the good old tried and true traditional toppings. The hot sauce here is on point too!! That delicious southern Louisiana style flavor!!
Also picked up the gumbo and boudin balls and these were by far the best I've had in awhile.
Excellent food. Very friendly staff! The catfish was fresh and juicy. Definitely get the Seafood Bisque! You can not go wrong eating here.
Amazing po boy, really wide menu, good prices and very friendly staff! Could not fault it!
If you like spicy food, this gonna be home for you for a couple of late nights. Every po'boy here is great. Order it with extra pickles on the side just in case. I always pick one up when I'm in town for work. I'd give it 5 stars but it seems I got to wait a long time even when not all that busy however it's always been worth the wait so go.
We were on our way to a different shop but decided to stop in because we were too hungry to keep going and I’m so glad we did!!!! My fried shrimp poboy was the best I’ve ever had, and the French fries were good too. It’s air conditioned which is a plus, food came out fast and the counter server was very nice! (John I think?)
Tater tots are on point. Was not too much of a fan of the po boy. The oyster was ok but did not reflect the price. Ok for life night eats. Everything fried was on the spicy side.
Lots of options for po boys. Come here if you hungry and late night. Lots of options in the French Quarter but those tots.
The food was amazing. Cash only, but there's an ATM inside. Really spicy, really tasty! Boudin balls, red beans and rice and tater tots... and bananas foster ice cream!
We ate there 3 times while there! Thats how good it was! We had spicy shrimp Who Dats, Bodin Balls, and gumbo. All of it... DELICIOUS!!!
This is my favorite spot to go when I’m in New Orleans. My trips aren’t complete until I leave this place. Staff is so welcoming. Food is great. Best PoBoy, alligator and gumbo in town. Love this place!!!!!
HANDS DOWN - The BEST roast beef debris pot roast Po Boy! The Cajun Debris Fries were just as delicious as the Po Boy itself. This is a must have while you're in New Orleans! My husband and I shared a foot long and one order of the fries!
Authentic New Orleans comfort food. Do yourself a favor and get a side of fried okra with whatever you order.
Amazing food! Best Po boys in New Orleans, easily. Crawfish pie that melts in your mouth. Not to mention genuinely kind and helpful staff. If you're a hasher in the area at St. Pierre's, it's a quick stumble away.
Was pretty busy, so it took a minute for the order. But it was well worth it. Fresh and delicious. The menu is huge and everything looks great!
Would give it 6 stars if I could. Defintely some of the best grilled shrimp I've ever had. Great fries, too. I ordered the grilled shrimp basket and my husband got a shrimp po boy. His food was also excellent.
Got my first muffalatta sandwich here. It did not disappoint. Our server was a very fun nice older lady. She had great jokes. The fries are ok. It was four of us and only three of us had our food come to the table. They forgot our fourth friends food and by the time it came out we already finished ours. The fries catfish was good and the oysters were huge. Didn't care the the fried chicken. I would go back
Friendly staff and a great poboy. We asked for a recommendation and off the back of it got the shrimp bisque which was very tasty, and got the 8inch which was almost too big. A bit on the expensive side.
It happened to be the first place we ate in NewOrleans... tasty!
The gentleman at the counter was very helpful and friendly.
Good amount of freshly prepared food for the money; we had a great time 😊
Only negative... our phones were dying (too many pictures! lol) and this place wants a fee for charging? Come on...
Stuck here for two week working. I tried several poboy places, and then I found this place. It's further down Bourbon Street, away from canal, but well worth the walk. very friendly staff and BEST POBOY in NOLA, without a doubt. This place is super yummy!
First meal here in NOLA. Got a shrimp po boy and crawfish pie. Both delicious and definitely best sandwich I’ve had in my life.
I gave it 4 stars though because it took quite a while to get my food, and food was a bit salty and overpriced.
Portion of the sandwiches were huge. I was soo bloated after just an 8 inch sandwich!
Try to split if ya can.
Shut up!! Try it I dare you!! Debris fris shown. Po boys out of this world. Just do it. Trust me.
This place is where it is at! The shrimp po boy was my favorite thing I ate while in New Orleans! The staff are so sweet. I regretted not going back to get another sandwich or try something else but no worries! I will be back and I will visit this place everyday if I have to! Lol. So good! My mouth is watering just writing about it.
Our first poboy experience in New Orleans! Conveniently located on Bourbon st and a big selection of poboys, all the classics plus some interesting fillings! Delicious and great value :)
My family and I really enjoyed visit and the poboys. Really greatful for the New Orleans experience and native eats.
the food here is excellent! John was behind the counter when we dropped in and was super nice. will definitely drop back in next time I’m in NOLA!
We ordered Da Yat poboy, some red beans and rice and a side of fried okra... Deeeeeelicious!!!
I highly recommend stopping by and having a bite
We tried so much food here and it was ALL amazing...Shrimp Po'Boy, Debris Fries, Chicken-Sausage Gumbo, Crawfish Bisque, Red Beans & Rice, and hand dipped ice cream!
Do yourself a favor and check it out!!!
Omg the vegan burger is delicious!!! Also the french fries are so awesome (crunchy outside and soft inside - perfect)! P.s.: the staff is also very kind.
I had the shrimp basket. Excellent food and very flavorful. For the price, out of bounds!😁 so much food.
My husband had the hot roast beef and he enjoyed it immensely. The house made chile relish sauce was fabulous. …
The food I got here today easily made itself the highlight of my day in New Orleans! The cashier and other staff were also very friendly. Totally would recommend!
Came here on a walking food tour so got a different experience but the food... It is so good... Get the Boudin balls. Any food you have you will not be disappointed.
Tasty and spicy just like I like it, shrimp were refried/ reheated- but still good! U can't pull that off on a New Orleans native but I still tried to support.
♥️
But definitely tourists priced and centered bc 17$ for an 8" poboy that came with NO Sides is OUTRAGEOUS ‼️‼️
Catfish Poboy was worth the wait
UPDATE: On my return visit a couple days later, I was charged 4 dollars more than the posted price for each Poboy ordered...hmmm cheating tourists?... if not update the menu board.... had to remove a star
Friendly staff, spicy crawfish tastes great
Amazing food, and the people here are so kind and happy to recommend the best way to eat it. The 12” beyond po boy has 3 patties, ask for poboy sauce.
If you want to eat like a local, this is the place to go! The seafood is spicy, the gumbo, etouffee, and red beans and rice are authentic. There's late night options, and the service is excellent 👌
Some of the best poboys! My husband had the roast beef and I had the Who Dat (fried shrimp smothered in shrimp and crawfish bisque). Everything was delicious!
What a place to have my first poboy experience! Small place... but it's like being in your bestie's kitchen.. ate a grilled shrimp poboy and oh my! Perfect spices (I had mine Yankee Mild).. washed it down with a cream soda..owner served me special and after seeing how much I loved it, he offered me some praline sticky ice cream.. i'm hooked!
Only negative was our chicken bo boy was raw, shrimp was the best very flavorful, red beans and rice were bomb.
Did you know that couples who get married in NoLa get free food here their entire stay in Nola! I thought that was amazing. The food is soooo good, so much to choose from and the service was great
The best Poboy that I have ever had packed with shrimp it was delicious and worth every dollar I walked 20 minutes just to try it yum I will definitely get it again
The best poboy we ate all week....fried shrimp and fried crawfish is what we got and both were delicious....delicious.... we also got a side of fried okra....the po boys come spicy so fair warning there.....highly recommended stop!
Poboy sounded delicious with the variety of meats (plus lettuce/etc. dressing) but the gravy made the whole thing just taste like bouillon.
I went with the recommendation of the cashier and got the Who Dat Po-boy. And it did not disappoint. I would say it's a must try from here. We also got the seafood Gumbo but it didn't like it as much. Also the gumbo came out room temperature, it was not even warm.
Best PO Boy that my wife and I had in NOLA. Shtimp and a side of fried okra. Staff was all nice to us at 10pm on a Tuesday. Great service!!!
This place seemed really average. Kinda surprised given the reviews. I got the fried shrimp poboy and it tasted very basic.
So worth the stop! Even though we had a large group, we were able to be seated and served so quickly. The staff were so friendly and very pro bachelorette parties, which was fun. Give these people some love and for sure get gator bites, you’ll thank me later.
Ate here several times!!excellent Sandwiches!!!got the muffuletta and shrimp poboy!!!omg they were fantastic!price was fair.place was crowded all the time!but well worth the try…you will go back!
Phenomenal Shrimp Po Boys spicy yasss The Gumbo was everything spice factor was amazing I totally recommend this place to every body please check them out 😛😜😂🥰
Great food. Had the roast beef poboy and fried alligator basket. Both were to my liking. Staff was friendly.
Small and unassuming, this storefront restaurant slings out an enormous amount of excellent product. There muffaleta is not to me missed. It was perfect
Ordered a spicy shrimp PoBoy. It will definitely kick and make you sweat a bit however you’re in good hands at NOLA. Don’t forget the Tony’s!
Wow food was so good. We missed this place on our first visit so we made sure we went back. We all got different items and everything was tasty. Don't miss out on the pot roast fries and say yes to a fork for your sandwich. Pic is the "Who Dat" on a bun ... po boy heaven yum
Fast ,friendly service. Great, freshly made food! Also have healthier options like grilled instead of fried. Exceeded my expectations.
Nice food. Long walk from Canal Street. Better to take the streetcar to the Dumaine Stop, near Jackson Square and walk down Ann Street to location.
The menu was great! The portions were large, food was amazing and the gentleman running the restaurant brought our toddler a snowball when he was crying. Super friendly, we’ll be back to try more menu items!
I love you NOLA Poboys. Every time I’m in town I always pass by for a poyboy. Great foods all over!
This place never disappoints. It’s jumping but so worth the wait, the food is delicious! I can’t wait to go back and get another shrimp basket from here. I love the artwork inside, and since it’s right on Frenchmen you can sit outside and enjoy hearing music while taking in the classic Frenchmen vibes.
Great place for poboys. The batter is thick, spicy and the seafood is tender. Many hot sauces for you to choose from at each table. I will definitely be heading back to try to gator and oyster poboy!
Great Poboys in the quarter. Almost as good as Johnny's. The advantage here is they are open late night.
Great local spot for poboys. Love their spicy option! I usually get the fried catfish. Fried okra appetizer is pretty good as well.
Visited twice in one day! Great Po Boys and the boudin balls were delicious! I only wish I had more time during my visit to try more from their menu. Lunch and dinner times are busy so expect a wait while visiting during those hours. Seating in back of the house, as well as the front for folks visiting with their dogs.I know where I'll be visiting next time I come back to New Orleans.
This is a great 24 hour place that serves the best fries ever! They are fries with nacho cheese, brown gravy and roast beef. It's like NOLA's version of the Canadian Poutine fries.
I had the crawfish poboy, delicious, just the right amount of spicy.
I've never had a poboy that had this much flavor. It was excellent!!! I had the shrimp poboy "whodat"version, which is fried shrimp smothered in bisque, and I also ordered boudin balls. YUM!!! Great atmosphere and it is very conveniently located. They have anything and everything here, ice cream, snocones, great choices on their menu etc... We cannot wait to go back and indulge again!
Catfish Po Boy was on point and fried to perfection. Muffalata was just amazing. Could not ask for a better sandwich combo for lunch.
The gentleman at the register was friendly and open. He suggested the food after speaking with me. Absolutely the best spicy fired chicken I have ever had. Staff were great, and the atmosphere was amazing. I would suggest to everyone I know, and those that want great food.
Loved their Shrimp and Gumbo Specialty PoBoys! It was definitely very spicy but tolerable (this is coming from someone who thinks hot cheetos are spicy but still can eat a whole bag in one sitting!)
Poboy was full of flavor, bread was a bit wet but not soggy.
Great customer service
Great food and a real Ma and Pa restaurant. It's on Bourbon Street but way out of the party area and it's well worth a visit.
The Debris Fries were by far our favorite. Out of 8 people in my group not one was disappointed with their food. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back next time we are in NOLA.
I traveled all the way from Ohio to enjoy this meal. It was better than I imagined so much that i over ate.
While waiting for the food i had a great conversation with all the people eating. Felt like home I will be returning for more!
Absolutely fabulous as usual! I was only there 24 hours and made this a must go to. I will be back. I even took one home!
Quite the place. Fairly busy menu but not overwhelming. I went with a fried shrimp poboy and it was excellent, especially with some Crystal hot sauce. The food came out pretty quick considering how packed it was. My friend got a large muffuletta and didn't realize how big that was, so I ate a quarter of that too and it was also delicious. We had ~7 people in our group and everyone loved their food. As a tourist I can't say how this stacks up to the rest of the city, but I'd be surprised if it's not among the best.
Fantastic food, good service, expansive menu. Loved it, if you're hungry on Bourbon Street drop by!
Very good food great service poboys are a must when in new Orleans pictured are the roast beef, hot sausage and the spicy fried alligator all served with mayo lettuce tomatoes and pickles
The fried shrimp Po boy was really good and the guy at the cashier stand was funny and welcoming.
Crawfish pie, sweet potato fries, fried okra, and a shrimp poboy! Delicious!! All of it!! Fast service, plenty of seating in the back.
Was great for a meal after a night of drinking. Service was a bit slow, but that's because of how many people were ordering!
Excellent delicious... Open till 3 AM on Bourbon Street. Great variety of menu options.
Catfish Poboy was better than great!
Late night spot, get the big easy and you won't be dissapointed. Super nice staff and worth the wait.
Awesome place for late night eats. Everything from the gumbo and shrimp poboy were great. The loaded fries with gravy are insane.
Long lines mean great food. They are pretty fast getting people taken care of.
Great Poboys at a very reasonable price! The shrimp and roast beef ones were delicious!
The fried shrimp poboy was good, but you're paying a bit more just for being on bourbon st.
We came here for 3 meals on our vacation. The service was very friendly, the food was really good as well. If you are sensitive to the spice, order Yankee for everything!!!
So delicious! So friendly!
The man who takes your order really makes you feel like your order counts - we waited outside for our order on one occasion and he came all the way out with a cup of ice for our dog - we really loved that.
Then there is Heidi who brings your order to the table and before she is finished makes sure you have everything that you need with a great smile!
This is a terrific place with really great food.
The best Spicy PoBoy on Bourbon!! Your mouth will be in Fire!! It's worth it!! The remolaude sauce is to.die for as well!! Please give me a location in Mississippi!! I'll be back down March 15! See y'all soon!!
Soooo good went back the next day for more. Chicken and sausage gumbo, roastbeef debris po boy, red beans and rice.
A PERFECT SANDWICH
If your looking for an excellent classic Po-Boy, this is the place to go. Delicious seafood fried just right served in fresh New Orleans style bread. The fried alligator meatballs were fantastic as well!
Top notch po boys and muffaletta! This is much better than just some place to get drunk food while on Bourbon Street. It's seriously has the best fried okra I've ever tried, and everything about the sandwiches are superbly done from the perfectly fried and seasoned meats and seafoods, to the crispy breads.
Okay so this place is slightly pricey but the portions explain that and quality of food. The boudin balls are absolutely fantastic, with a creole mustard sauce on the side I think? Sooooo good. I wish I would have made it back for more. But my bf got the debris and shrimp poboy and absolutely loved it, I got the crawfish basket and fries and everything was just how it should be. Could be slightly cleaner but no wait and you walk in and order and sit and wait for it to come out. Easy peasy.
I have to give this place 5 stars just based on the fried okra alone. I've been several times and always end up with the red beans and rice (which are great in their own right) but the fried okra keeps me coming back. They have a kick to them without being overwhelming. Laid back atmosphere with nice staff.
Great staff!! Friendly and helpful. I got the boudin balls and they were amazing!! And I loved the sauce that it came with as well.
Delicious grilled shrimp sandwich. One of the best sandwiches restaurants in New Orleans.
So on point! BF got the Alligator Po Boy and it was a little spicy but in a good way! Muffaletta(spelling?) Was HUGE and I only got a half lol delicious
Great late night place to have a snack. The have a large menu for food. They have everything from
po-boys to crawfish pie. We go there for the milkshakes and sno-bliz.
First time here.
I've had Po-Boys before. And at the same time, I've never had a po' boy before.
I almost wish I had recorded my my reaction to my first bite. Absolutely amazing food. I don't think I'll ever have another po-boy outside of new orleans.
Top tier, for sure.
Mind blown.
The food was tasty but the amount of chicken in the chicken bucket was disappointing. They had literally 5 thin slices of chicken and everything else was fries.
If I had to choose what to eat for the rest of my life, itwould be the spicy shrimp poboy and I would beg for a side of seafood gumbo... The BEST... I wish I could give it 10 stars 😁
Pics: seafood gumbo, roastbeef and spicy shrimp poboy 💕
Great food, I had the fried oysters with fries and my brother had a chicken poboy . We loved our food. This place has a variety of foods to try and have. Little spot with lots of soul.
It was my second vacation to New Orleans and I knew I had to revisit NOLA POBOYS. I went twice this trip around. The red beans and rice are not to be overlooked and their sandwiches are delicious. This is my favorite place to eat in New Orleans. I recommend especially if you love spicy food!
No (few) frills but the most po boy options I've ever seen. And the classics are delicious and spicy!
Tried a few of the Positive boys in town and this was my favorite, the spicy Alligator is must if you come here. Nice spicy kick and texture of gator was like a crispy cutlet, can't wait to come back and grab another. The Boudin balls were pretty impressive also and worth mentioning, would order again as well.
Darnell was awesome! Super informative and knew the menu inside/out.
Recommend the first two po boys on the board and we got complimentary beignet balls which did not disappoint! Do the damn thing and get there to eat, now!!
Yummy food with a large selection of seafood sandwiches and a few vegetarian options as well! Must try their Gumbo and deep fried okra!
Open super late for dine-in and takeout. Would visit again!
The big easy po boy is amazing. Do yourself a favor and get it hot.
Excellent bun-to-oyster ratio on the poboys. Base seasoning has just a little kick. One of the better poboys I've found in the French quarter
SPICY is the name of the game. Delicious crawfish po-boy and onion rings.
I was thinking about this place earlier today and I was mad at myself for not mentioning that the bread was off the hook. I rarely have the opportunity to eat more than one Po Boy when I'm in New Orleans because there is so much other incredible food. But I think the bread at NOLA is the best I've tasted. Crunchy and soft at the same time. Total win!
Really good. When we went the card machine was down so we had to play cash. Other than that it was reeeeallly good and I would recommend
The food was decent, but everything had basically the same spicy flavor as was over-fried. Service was just fine. Location is sort of cool and casual.
My cousin Billy gave me a tip and told me to visit NOLA Poboys and find Murray. I never got to talk to Murray but if I did, I would tell him the shrimp bisque was the one thing I raved about upon returning to Phoenix. This food was the icing on the culinary cake during my time in New Orleans. Upon my return I intend to make this a regular stop and hopefully I will get a chance to visit with Murray.
#1 was place to get a Poboy. Also recommend the beef sandwich with gravy. The staff here is amazing! The gentleman behind the counter was from my home town in Indiana and the lady working the tables was made it like visiting grandma's house including a goodbye big hug.
Had the 'Who Dat' fried shrimp 8inch - its fried shrimp with lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes and then smothered in bisque. I could eat this every day. Had a good kick, bisque was perfect, fried shrimp was amazing, and the rest was heaven. All booths in front area were filled and then about 5 tables throughout rest of place as well. I think our order took 30 mins + and other customers took even longer which angered some people, but it was well worth the wait for me and my pal. I'd say go here if you're looking for a classic po boy in a quaint place and not looking to grab and go in a jiffy. It's definitely best when you sit, relax, talk, and wait to eat good southern food.
Food so good you gonna slap somebody. Them poboys will come SPICY unless you ask for it not to be. Every kinda poboy imagined available there.
If you like spicy you have to give them place a try it was delicious! Everything we ordered was homemade and you can tell too that it was made with passion. I can't recommend it enough!
Delicious food, lots of it, and friendly people. We got our food within a few minutes despite it being 4th of July weekend.
We randomly stopped here for early dinner and got some shrimp Po boys, boudin balls, snow cones, blts for the kids. The people that work the counter and the lady that gave us our food waere All so kind and sweet to us! Excellent portions for the prices. The shrimp was spicy but not too spicy, perfection!
Yummy food, good variety, cool staff :)
Backed with shrimp the way i like it so tasty...this is the place to get them delicious
Delicious! I'll try the cursing Murray level next time. Friendly staff. Cool place to hang.
The alligator po'boy 😍 that's all I have to say. …
Best place in NOLA for a po boy! Quick fast service and clean facility. The shrimp melted in my mouth - incredible!
The shrimp in the poboy sandwiches were delicious. My husband got his with a sauce of some sort and it was super yummy.
Phenomenal food with phenomenal service! The owner was so kind and went out of his way to welcome us to NOLA for a bachelorette weekend. Definitely put this on your list of places to go in NOLA. We are going to go back a second time before leaving town!
Our group had 5 different poboys here and they all tasted great. Now when they say it comes spicy they absolutely mean it...and I love spicy good. Lol
The po boys are delicious. They warn you that they come spicy, and that is definitely true. The fries were good, but the cheese sauce tasted canned. Not a huge ding, just something to be aware of. I wanted to try a sno-ball but they weren't serving them the night I ate there.
I think about this place more than I should. NOLA will have you looking at plane tickets randomly. The debris fries had my interest before my first trip to NOLA and captured my heart on my first visit because it tasted even better than the pictures made them look. Shrimp poboy bun was amazing. I went twice on a 3 day trip this place is amazing. Fried okra was great too!
This place was off the charts good. I had a hit roast beef with ham and gravy that was AMAZING. My wife LOVED the vegetarian muffuletta and both of my kids came away from there completely satisfied. Also, get the seafood bisque. You won't be sorry. Seriously. It was a game changer. Take your family there. You won't be disappointed.
Always have to stop by when I'm in NOLA. Their debris fries are ridiculously good 👍🏼
Took kids here for some local cuisine. Was a little disappointed that they were only running a limited menu, but it was still delicious. We had crawfish pies, gumbo and the dupris fries. All really good. Would love to go back for full menu if I'm ever back in NOLA.
A proper shrimp poboy can be found here, but you'll pay for it. Cheaper options of similar quality are available in less touristy spots further from Bourbon Street.
Excellent seafood and Justin took great care of us, thanks!!
D'yum. SO good. Got the half and half shrimp and oyster 12".
Picture is what's left of an awesome spicy oyster poboy!
Open until midnight Sun-Weds and until 3am the other days. This is good "I'm drunk and hafto eat NOW" food! Find it. Eat it!
We found this place walking around and gave it a try. I had the grilled shrimp and veggies basket, it really hit the spot, I probably shouldn’t have eaten the whole thing, it kept me pretty full for the rest of the weekend. Would highly recommend it, it wasn’t too spicy for my yankee tastes.
Soooo my friend and I were tipsily walking up Bourbon and I stopped here. It was after midnight and I saw a half drunk/sleep person in every friend group that was seated...and I knew this was the after spot for food.
OMG...the food was SO good. I got the Who Dat (shrimp po boy smothered in their seafood bisque). I'm not a real fan of spicy but this was spicy and flavorful and delightful to my tastebuds. I'm so glad we accidentally found this gem!
Absolutely outstanding food and great customer service. Loved visiting here on our last day of holiday for some pre airport food. Had the BLT 8’ Po-Boy and shared Dabris Fries - yum. Lost a star for cleanliness - it’s hard being on Bourbon with so many people coming and going - but the tables and chairs needed a clean and the bins were overflowing. Wouldn’t put me off going back though.
First time visiting NOLA and went here due to all the great reviews. The fried shrimp poboy was excellent and the seafood gumbo was very flavourful, despite being a little salty. I would definitely recommend this place, except the girl at the cash register was so rude that it completely ruined coming here for me. She had an attitude for no reason and really made a new experience extremely unpleasant!
Solid late night snacking. Got catfish and fries and it was all pretty tasty. Wide, and fun, menu. Staff we nice, but obviously it's a tough job with late night drunkards constantly bugging. I'd go back!
Truly enjoyed the food. We ordered the spicy shrimp po boy and the cursing Murray with sweet potato fries. My wife truly enjoyed how crunchy the outside of the fries were and how soft the inside was. My only regret was not trying the 12in po boy and getting 2 different flavors next time will try the gator and fried oyster po boy.
We went here for a late night meal after hitting Bourbon Street. When they ask you if you want spicy, make sure you are ready for all the hotness and flavor! I had the Who Dat PoBoy and it was spicy and delicious! One helping of fries has big enough for two people if you I want to make sure you have room for your main sandwich. Great food!
Mann that pot roast Po Boy it was banging. We ordered the grill chicken Po Boy but got fried. BABYYYY I'm glad they messed up, it was banging too. I typically don't eat mayo, but I wanted to try it as , and I'm glad I did🤌🏾
I was tempted to dock a star for the super long wait, but the food is so damn amazing! Dabris fries! fried spicy shrimp!
Delicious food, taste to perfection it melted in my mouth, the wait wasn't long at all, and great staff I would deftly go back!
This was the first time being there and Ms T took above and beyond care of my group. She knew what was good, and what was good around the area. She was so sweet and so kind. The food was delicious! 10/10 recommended especially if Ms. T is there
Love this place. Best Bloody Mary in NOLA and that is a bold statement. The food... Is amazing.
Great food, the wait can be long but it worth it, the personal is nice.
Many times in the French Quarter of NOLA but never really stopped anywhere for a PoBoy. Wow! This place was perfect. Local and not good but great! Absolutely hit the spot. I see now why it gets the reviews it does.
Boutin balls were out of this world! Fries were tasty too. Sno ball machine was down...
Amazing - best sandwich (poboy) we have ever had. Quirky inside and friendly staff. A must visit in New Orleans!
Excellent Poboys!!! Over the top Poboys. And the french fries were crunchy and super delicious. People were friendly and very helpful. We loved it. Chef came out and gave us a little sample of a chicken gumbo that was so delicious. They have really great food here. Thank you guys for giving us a good experience in New Orleans
Got the shrimp Po boy with bisque and the cheese fries with pot roast. They were both amazing !! Would definitely recommend this place if you like not so healthy food.
I had the Yankee fried shrimp Po boy. It was rather bland but on the other hand the gumbo was the best I've ever had!
all the fried food is amazingly spicy. my catfish po'boy was sooooo delicious! 👍👏
definitely headed to try another item on their massive menu selection!
Had friendly service, for what I paid I expected better, crawfish po boy was kinda dry. But I enjoyed everything else.
*C H O M P*
A very nice hole in the wall off of bourbon street. Great selections at least from a Yankees point of view. A must for any trip to NOLA.
Great portions and really tasty!
Great sandwiches, great selection, best side of gravy anywhere.
It was OK but didn't like it much
Unforgettable catfish poboys. Perfect ratio of bread to stuffings.
Shrimp Poboy was fantastic, boudin balls were amazing, BUT THE CRAWFISH PIE!!!!! Omg it was so delicious that I went back for another one at midnight the same day. Seriously, this crawfish pie was the best thing I ate in N’awlins!
We tried a few different poboys while visiting NOLA and these were by far our favorite!! The shrimp and soft shell crab were delicious with just the right amount of kick. The staff was very friendly too which is always nice. Definitely worth a try! When we come back we will definitely be coming back here to try the other foods they offer.
Really enjoyed eating a Po Boy here. The restaurant itself doesn't look fancy at all, but don't let that put you off. Looks deceive.
My husband and I heard about this place from a Food Tour earlier in the week. From the looks of it it was a very pretty small place and he was against for the whole crew, but we were surprised to see it actually had an abundant amount of space. The food was amazing however taste is more fresh at night from our experience. The lady with the red shoes like Dorothy made us laugh, she was quick, kind A’f but made sure to keep us calm giving it was busy almost like an hour wait if I’m not mistaken. Had it not been for her personality we most likely would’ve opt out of waiting.
We will be back for Jazz Fest and this will our first, in between, and last stop before our departure. Thank you red shoe lady and the whole crew. Our New Orleans PLH Vacation, was a foodies blast. 👍🏻
The best po'boy I've ever eaten. SO good! I'll be heading back to try some different ones.
Great food!! The fried catfish poboy was amazing! I only added Tatar sauce. The debris fries are also amazing!!!
Food was phenomenal! There's more seating in the back, don't be fooled by the frontage. I ended up getting boudin balls, shrimp, alligator poboy, muffuletta, and gumbo. The gumbo here is better than the gumbo shop.
Came here 2 years ago on a tour and was able to sample some of the food they offered. This time I came on my oun as a customer with my partner and we both got the po boy and loved it. They have a huge variety to pick from, there is seriously something for everyone here. I got the gator po boy, gf got the chicken. We got a side of fries which were great and there is a decent amount of seating from outdoor to indoor. One of the best places to eat in Nola!
First time trying poboys, was good but not worth the hype
I have to say, we randomly walked down the street hungry... Saw a long line out the door of this joint, and we agreed this is lunch! Boy was I happy to have lunch here. Have your vaccination card ready and put that mask back on. That's how I know this place cares about their customers. It's reflected in their food too. Ordered the big easy poboy, cheesy fries, soft shell crab poboy. Topped it all off with fried okra! Fantastic first lunch in NOLA!
Highly recommend, grab a poboy and enjoy!
Had my very first ever poboy here and it was perfection! Decided to stop in here after having several drinks and figured we should probably get some food in our systems lol. Had the hot roast beef and it hit the spot a thousand times over. Loved it.
Great place! Staff was nice. The portions are huge!
I’ve eaten sooooo many poboys in my life and this one here was the best. The fried okra cannot be beat, I’m still thinking about it a week later. Service was also great!
Thank you for being one of our favorite meals on our honeymoon!
We were told that the Poboys are the best here and we were impressed. The fried shrimp were thick and juicy. Also, the portions are generous.
Stopped in unexpectedly for lunch and wound having some of the best food on our trip to NOLA. I tried seafood gumbo at five different places while we were in town, and this was my favorite. We shared a large grilled shrimp poboy, which tasted fresh and delicious. Fun place and terrific food.
So delicious!!!must go to spot ! Only bad thing took us 1 hour to get our food.
So many options to choose from. We each chose something different. We found the regular seafood poboys to be a little dry (not enough mayo) but my husband had one with bisque on top and he thought it was awesome. Super friendly staff! Didn't realize there was seating in the back.
Wait was a little long late at night, but the Fried chicken poboy had a good balance of spice from the batter and freshness from the veggies. Restrooms and seating in the back of the restaurant as well.
Every kind of Poboy imaginable and the one I ordered was the fried crawfish Poboy! Delicious 😋
Don’t go anywhere else for Poboys while in NOLA. The line is well worth the wait and they are proper, real Po boys. My friends and I all got different flavors and we all loved ours and want to go back.
Simply the best! We walked around and came across this place. We have already been twice! The service is a great and the food has so much flavor. This is our new go-to on our trip. We had the fried okra. It had a kick and it was amazing!
The grilled chicken poboy was average. I enjoyed the seafood bisque. Outdoor seating is always a plus. Give it a try if in the area.
Was really good, love the alligator balls
One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Reall nice spice to the food, and the environment really welcoming. Food came out quick too
The staff was very helpful to the point of giving me a way
to contact a supplier to get Bourdin shipped to my home state. Their Bourdin Balls were excellent. Get the 6 not the 3 and enjoy
Probably the best poboy I had in the French Quarter. My wife even joked about me getting the grilled chicken one but it was so damned amazing and perfectly seasoned.
Best shrimp po boy i ever had, and the counter staff was great too
Always a great experience when we come! The food is always hot and fresh, and everything we've tried has been delicious. The dabris fries are my go to, and everyone who has a taste of mine always wants a few more bites lol. I never remember to take photos before we start tearing it all up, but trust me this place is a great choice!!
When I tell you the food is great. I came to New Orleans for the weekend and I swear I ate here twice and this is my first every visiting the city and this spot is amazing... the gumbo (OMG) is so freaking amazing! I highly recommend. Great job!
Soooo delicious!!! Last night I had the crab poboy 🤤 and the night before the fried shrimp platter 🤤. They put your name on the order and will bring your food outside to you if you choose to dine on their benches - which was nicely maintained by someone that cleans after you're done.
Great establishment and the owner is awesome!! (Thank you "Mr. Brooklyn" for the service and taking care of my brother and new sis) 🥰
All fried food is spicy, so if you want mild, you'll have to ask for it.
Awesome staff and food. A great grill
Food was awesome, there is always a wait no matter what time of the day you go, but definitely worth the wait time. Great atmosphere, at this time they do require vacation proof or negative covid test within the last 72 hours to Dine in. Otherwise you can always choose to eat in their outside seating area if room is available or you can choose to carry out.
Great and good quality po-boys. Just make sure you are ordering the right size. The cheapest po-boy is on a bun but the cashier will ask you if you want an 8" or 12". They don't mention the bun size which is the cheapest for around $10. The 8" is about $15 and the 12" runs about $17. The 8" serving is a good size for two people depending on how hungry you are. Or order a 12" and split it and save some money. They are not kidding when they say spicy.
The shrimp po boy was good but could've been spicer. I got food poisoning from this place and it was been tormenting me for almost a week now.
Great Poboys, friendly staff... great place! I definitely recommend!
First time here and I was very impressed. Great staff, great atmosphere and a freaking awesome shrimp po boy!
I'll be back for sure.
Good Poboys! Service could have been a little more gracious. Worker on cash register may have been having a bad day or new to the hospitality industry.
