Reviews of New Orleans Vampire Cafe
Dana Wise
LOVED IT! FYI - you don't need reservations so a definite plus. We were seated almost immediately. Loved all of the Vampire items and decor. They have blood bag drinks and menu items in vampire theme. Servers have fangs. Their home made chips were awesome and my Vampire Burger was to die for. Will 100% be back next time in NOLA
Chelsea Martinez
Vampire Cafe is a cute place, good drinks (if you really like vodka) and a great gumbo. Service was pretty bad when we went. The place wasn't packed but they seemed really disorganized. We waited a long time after being seated for a server, then drinks, food came out quick and was great but then we waited a long time again for the check.
Elizabeth Soper
We came here multiple times on our NOLA trip. Loved the staff and the mood. Creative drinks and appetizers. Thoroughly enjoyed the sangria in the blood bag and the sangria in a glass with cute toppers. The decor was great and the bathroom was funny. Would highly recommend stopping here!!!

Not for me. Themed is fun, but not enough to go “meh” on the food. Also, I’m not sure if the bug that ate my leftovers are a matter of health and cleanliness of the restaurant or if its REALLY a part of the “authentic” vampire experience.
I’m not squeamish and I guess the flies were fine, but the bug freaked me out. Very polite bug, waited until I was done.
The cab wine was good and on brand.

Wasn't horrible but wasn't that great either. We were really excited to go to this place but the day we went must have been an off day. The food wasn't that good and their blood drinks are like a juice pouch. I got my self a regular drink which was alright but everyone else wasn't to happy. Still liked some of the design

Great atmosphere! Clean tables, no wait, and the staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. I’m vegan and the menu was very accommodating. The kitchen even remade my entire meal for me quickly and kindly. Our waitress Allison was especially friendly and helpful. Definitely check this gem out 🦇❤️ …

My brother is a carnivore and I'm a vegan. While there are some 100% veg restaurants in New Orleans, it's SO tough to find restaurants in NOLA that omnivores want to go to but also have a "real" vegan option. This in one of them! My entree (tofu curry) was delicious and I'm a huge Anne Rice fan, so this was the highlight of my trip for me.

Vampire cafe is an excellent place to unwind in the French Quarter. The atmosphere is very cool of course. The food was amazing, especially the fried deviled eggs! The place is decorated amazingly and kids will love it. Staff was great too. The blood bag cocktail is very cool!
Gabrielle Ripka
This was such a fun experience!! The food was *incredible* Richard went above and beyond in service and fun information about the Cafe, local legends, and local spots to explore. Don't miss the boutique next door! I can't wait to come back, this place deserves several visits per trip. 10/10!
Mindy Dixon
What a unique ambiance! I loved this place! Top notch drinks and the food was unbelievable! I loved the fried deviled eggs, the charcuterie board was super yummy and the roasted garlic was perfect! Be sure to try a blood bag!
Casey Morris
We had a great time at the cafe! We stopped in for a drink on a hot afternoon. We enjoyed cocktails and ice coffee, and everything was delicious. We sat at the bar and enjoyed chatting with the various staff who were all incredible. The really made us feel welcome. We'll definitely have to come back to try some of their food menu. We also really enjoyed the store and talking to the staff member there.

Fun, eclectic cafe with vampire decor. We had brunch over Mardi Gras weekend. It was busy but our party of 2 was seated within 10 minutes of arrival. Our food came out quickly but we did not feel rushed. I enjoyed my french toast and scrambled eggs. The Blood Bag drinks are a lot of fun - I had the pomegranate lemonade and vodka. It was very refreshing. It is a smaller space with tables inside and a few tables outside. You can also sit at the bar if you prefer. Don’t miss the Vampire store around the corner on St. Ann Street!
mr. melon (Kokoro Lemon)
It's so cool! The inside is dark (as you would expect in a place with Vampires). The decor is a mix of perfect vampire aesthetic & cheesy (it was honestly just so cute in there) I definitely recommend going here and trying the desserts! Loved it so much
Isabella Díaz
I loved the menu of this restaurant. It was very unique with its vampire theme, they make you feel that you are in a horror movie (even the bathroom matched the theme). I am giving 4 stars because the service was a little bit slow, but the personnel was nice.

I truly cannot say enough about how much I love this place. It's not a secret that New Orleans is a destination for lovers of vampire fiction, and as an almost lifelong Anne Rice fan, I recognize that I am the target audience for places like this in NewOrleans. It's a little kitschy but that's part of what makes it so charming and memorable. We visited two times during our trip (two members of our party came back a third time on the last day) and both times I experienced the cafe, I was in heaven with the food and atmosphere.
We came for brunch the first day, I had bottomless mimosas and honest-to-God the best shrimp and grits I'll ever eat in my life, everyone in my party loved their food. The second visit was at dinner time and I got the filet with the bone marrow and I was in heaven, hands down the best steak I've ever experienced. I know my friends were raving about their burgers as well. The atmosphere and aesthetic is different at night, it's spookier and more romantic.
The drinks were good, I just had to get a blood bag.
Staff was friendly and accommodating.
I know it has a lot of 1-star reviews because some people were upset that they ask for proof of vaccine, they're just trying to keep their stuff and patrons safe.
Gianinna Saa
Delicious food, Wonderful hospitality, drinks were great! Even the beer selection was good that it got me to drink a beer and I’ve avoided beer my whole adult life. So good, we visited 2 days back to back. The steaks are a must!

I'm a local and had yet to try this place. Service, ambiance and food were phenomenal! Ask for Richard. Food was ALL fresh and the flavors worked well together with all dishes and drinks. My girlfriend and I are so glad we found this place and will be back!!! Best Creme Brule we have EVER had!
Relii Cabrales
Been having this place on my list and we decided to try it our for drinks and dessert. The waitress, he was awesome and laid back and took our shenanigans lol I freaking love the theme of this place and my goodness were the drinks strong enough to wake the dead. I enjoyed the place and will be back to try their food.
Piers Vaughan
Great fun! Creative names for everything and friendly and attentive staff. Good food and drinks in a themed environment - even the napkins are folded like bars with silverware crosses on them!
Brandy Kelley
Had a wonderful lunch here and I’m only upset that we couldn’t stay for the tea leaf readings and other options for stuff! Burger was OUTSTANDING. The server was kind and helpful, meal took a bit to get to us but it was worth it! (I only mention bc we were on a time crunch, so definitely not their fault) ❤️ Will definitely come back next time we are in town!
Mollie Merino
We chose this place because we heard their kitchen was open late, so we weren’t expecting much besides an easy, quick bite, but this place was AMAZING! I got the Blood Tea with a shot of Whiskey and it was phenomenal HIGHLY recommend and it came in the cutest teacup. The deviled eggs and Dracula Burger were also so good!
Jacob
So glad we stumbled across this place during our stay in New Orleans. The concept sounds campy, and it is, but they lean into it in the best way. Gold-plated silverware, vampire themed drinks, etc. And the food is pretty darn good! The burger is half ground beef/half brisket - an amazing combo.
Jessica Woodruff
A local actually told me about this place (thanks, Dexter!) and as soon as I heard about it I couldn’t wait to go. We made a trip for after-dinner drinks and I just loved the aesthetic of the building. Their specialty cocktail list is all blood types. Unfortunately they were out of most of the blood bag drinks, so I didn’t get to try, but the B+ was awesome. The espresso creme brûlée was also delicious!
Shontell Forrest
I absolutely love this restaurant! The theme, the food, the atmosphere... fangtastic 😁 Their homemade chips are to die for and their vampire burger was delicious.
My favorite was the wine flights and charcuterie bites 🧀 🍷Yummmm!
I also loved their taste in music. Really chill place. I can't wait to visit again.
Nicolette Tech (Nikita)
INCREDIBLY THEMED Vampire dining destination even down to the restrooms! It is an upscale cafe with a great brunch menu. The food was really good and the drinks where on theme. As someone who had visited New Orleans for the first time, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. This spot get filled up quickly, we sat at the bar for caste seating as walk in so be prepared! Also, If you are friendly with the staff they have some insider knowledge about other fun hotspots I. The area!

Service and interior decor was great. No wait time. However we decided not to eat but to get drinks to continue our walk. I purchased the sangria camp bag and I was very disappointed on the taste. It was nasty. Waste of money $15 but 4 stars for menu / drink presentation, cleanliness, service being greeted, waited on, nice outdoor seating and nice interior.
Candace
Cool Goth setting. Tasty snacks and generous libations. Great service. The fried deviled eggs were creative and delicious. Loved the lamb meatballs.
Matt
Aesthetics are really cool, love the decor and theme. Went there after the lunch rush for a late lunch and was seated quickly (no reservations needed). Shortly after it got really crowded. At the time we went the bathrooms were out of order, a bit of an issue with people drinking a lot. Food was decent, not the best but you're essentially paying for the cool theme items. Got the Fangria (the blood bag) and a burger with gator. Sadly when we went, they were out of a few items especially the virgin Fangria (as our party had people that cannot drink). The burger I asked for medium and it was well done. Still the gator was really tasty and worth it. We later got the French Roast and have to say it was worse than the Keurig coffee offered in our hotel room.
Overall we really enjoyed the experience and the staff are really nice and didn't have any issues with timing, probably because it was off rush times.
Regan Sur
Cute little bar! Loving the vibes and drinks. You can even drink out of a blood bag! Their teas were great and can purchase them in the Vampire Boutique right behind the bar. Super nice and friendly staff. Would love to visit again!
Novie Sivon
We got in during a sweet spot before dinner and sat down right as we got in. Our waitress was fantastic! Food was fantastic! Everything was so good, I have no words. A MUST.
Micaela Hood
Waiter was pretty rude. Brie was amazing, steak tartare amazing. Hostess was super clueless on what they actually had that day which was practically nothing. The grits left me with a really bad stomach ache. Chocolate cake delicious. Pomegranate lemonade vodka was okay. Bonus points for it being in a blood bag. Decorations are funny
Alexa Murayama
A very cool place to get a drink in blood bag! The roasted garlic was fantastic. I loved the decor. It was dark but not scary or creepy just interesting to see. Next door is a gift shop where alot of different vampire things are sold and i spent forever in there!
Fiona
The most fantastic and hospitable staff. Special thanks to Brent & Patrick. Wonderful stop in for fried eggs (yum!) and well priced Pinot Noir.
Warm, but dark atmosphere. Creative menu.
Tony Alvarado
I found refuge from the blistering sun of New Orleans inside this Cafe, along with a whole experience that left me impressed!
Stepping inside, you'll immediately find a themed Cafe with a darkened interior to protect you from the sunlight outside, and once you're seated you'll find beautifully decorated accoutrement. I recommend the mussels and burgers, though I might recommend asking for the burgers above medium rare. The patties are a blend of meat, and while amazing, I found the texture interesting and very pull apart-ish.
Finally, you can order yourself a blood bag filled with a delicious alcoholic beverage, or water like my party did, alongside a whole host of options.
Phyllis Dixon
We recently had brunch at the Vampire Cafe and enjoyed the experience. They do not take reservations, but if you arrive in person they will tell you the estimated wait time and take your name and phone number to call you when a table is ready. You have 15 minutes to return after you are called. The brunch menu was limited and unfortunately we had one member of our party who does not like eggs, so that eliminated several of the options. They ordered the chicken and waffles and we were surprised that the chicken was bone-in, which was unexpected since most are made with boneless chicken to make it easier to cut the chicken and the waffle into bites together. The steak and eggs were good and the breakfast sandwich was good, but the sandwich had a very small amount of the tomato jam on it and could have used more. The best part was the blood bag drinks, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We had both the berry pomegranate lemonade with Vodka and the Sangria ones. You can take the bags home and rinse and re-use if you want to Impress your friends with a novelty drink container.

Interesting concept, but too expensive to consider going again. Our meal consisted of the Deviled Egg and Braised Pork appetizers (featured in photos) with two of the cheapest alcoholic drinks available. Our meal was STILL over $40. Three (half) eggs for $10, and three slabs of pork belly for $16. It was not worth the price.

My husband and I visited NOLA for our 5th anniversary, and dining at the Vampire Cafe was at the top of our list! It did not disappoint! We ended up visiting 4 times in the span of our 3 day trip. Along with stopping by the boutique and Potion's Lounge! This little Cafe was a Sanctuary for us within the madness of the city. Anytime we got overwhelmed or dehydrated, we'd turn to each other and say, "Vampire Cafe?!". The food was superb every time, and their blood bag drinks are fangtastic. The entire staff was so welcoming and wonderful. From our waiters to the incredible host that remembered us every time we dropped by. They really made us feel special, and this spot is what we'll miss the most in all of NOLA. We we would be there weekly if we had one back home, you simply must drop by for a bite! You won't regret it!
Stefanie M&M
A must visit. The food was phenomenal! Blackberry mojito was very bland seemed to be missing ingredients but the blood bags were good.
Alan Rogers
Love the vibe and look of everything, super cool theme. All the staff was really nice and helpful, especially the bartender Josh. One of the best I’ve ever had! The food and drinks were amazing. Can’t wait to go back!!

Highlight of our trip!!!!
We loved this little cafe and the vampire store next to it! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great! Get a blood bag!
Gina Will
The vampire café is absolutely worth a visit! The food and drink choices stay on theme (wine in a blood bag). But more importantly, the food is delicious!
Sunshine
This was amazing! Wait time was 20 mins. Our server was so sweet and helpful. We had the dracula burger, the duck, and the salmon. Two blood bags for the road. Make it a stop on your next trip!
Katherine Stack
This was the friendliest group of people my entire vacation. The food is AMAZING!! Take the time to get your tea leaves read while enjoying your meal. I enjoyed myself so much I brought my friends the next day for a second round 😁😁 Highly recommend
Nila Dhinaker
Got the pomegranate lemonade blood bags — so cute and delicious!! Second roundof drinks during dessert I got the pear bellini…still cute but not so delicious :(. Got the elephant garlic with focaccia and the fried deviled eggs as appetizers and they were great; I especially loved the elephant garlic and bread. I got the 8oz filet with asparagus and mashed potatoes for my entree, and my steak was delicious and perfectly seasoned and cooked. Got the white chocolate blueberry cheesecake for dessert. Ot was alright. Overall cute idea and fun little vibe. A little gimmicky but so cute I didn’t even care. Our server even had red contacts.
AquaticEscape
Very New Orleans! Food was delicious, had the salmon on toast which tasted very fresh and the breakfast sandwich. Drinks were nicely done and as a nice gimmick get the Blood Bag drink… trust me you won’t regret walking around town drinking it. 👀 …

I have no idea why, but this venue was marked in my Google Maps as a “Want to Visit”. While in vacation in New Orleans, we came by the Vampire Café and decided take a look at the menu. Being vegetarian, I often have limitation to many of the menu items especially in the southern restaurant. The Vampire café has a number of vegetarian appetizers and entrée options, including salads. They are even flexible with altering some of the meals.
Per Alison‘s recommendation, we tried the Fried Deviled Eggs, with the toppings on the side, and those were phenomenal! We also had the Roasted Garlic, which was quite delicious and if you get the Vampire Burger, it’s massive!
Inge Burbank
My husband and I love the Vampire Cafe! It’s on the pricy side, but their food is excellent. On our last visit, I had the the Vampire Burger, and my husband, the Dracula burger, and they were both juicy and absolutely delicious. If you’re traveling on a modest budget, this will definitely fall into the “special treat” category. Menu is available on their website.
Harith Muthanna AlHoory
Awesome flavors, the shrimp gumbo was a bomb of deliciousness but if you’re not into spicy food then the gator po’boy is not for you, I personally loved it but my wife couldn’t finish it because of the spicy flavor
Bryce Williams
My wife and I spent our anniversary dinner here and we could not have chosen a better place. The food was amazing only to be outdone by the service. I don't remember our servers name but she was one of the sweetest young ladies. She made handwritten thank you notes on our reciept, she was always there for refills, she gave us all kinds of advice on creepy stuff to do on our trip, and she gave us a card to get in to a speakeasy on Bourbon Street. All this while keeping up with all of her tables, both inside as well as outside. She was remarkable. Our pictures show the elephant garlic as well as the alligator bites. We didn't get a picture of the piece of cake that was brought to us for our anniversary but it was the best chocolate cake I think I have ever eaten.
Patricia Weilmuenster
We had the breakfast sandwich and oatmeal. My daughter and I split the sandwich. It was soooo good!! Highly recommended!! Our server Richard was phenomenal!!
Kaitlin Robinson
This place was so great! We got the fried deviled eggs and baked Brie both were delicious. Our server was beyond nice and knowledgeable. Loved the atmosphere and right next to it is the gift shop! I’d highly recommend coming here.
Courtenay Hall
Food was decent, good drinks, server seemed distracted. My Husband ordered a cocktail and never got it. Atmosphere was fun and cheeky. I would probably go back.
Julia Johnson
Loved the shrimp and grits and Dracula burger. Tea was delicious as well. Excellent service from Jasmine!!
Scott Howard
I just arrived in town. Dropped bag off and went looking for a beer and food. Sign out front read vegetarian coconut curry. It was a shrimp/ anchovy based sauce with tofu and vegetables. It was delicious. Place was busy when I entered and continued so through my visit. Bartender was friendly and was sharing places to visit throughout the French Quarter with many of the other guest seated around the bar. I recommend the chocolate cake and dark lager following any choice on the menu. Cheers!
Traveling Goose
I was excited to go just for the novelty but I honestly never expected much from the food. Boy was I wrong! I got the Dracula burger and it was delicious, and of course the decor was no let down either!
M R
Nice staff and good food. Do not eat on bourbon st, walk the 1 block down to Vampire Cafe, you won't be disappointed!
Megan Bennett
My coworkers and I had a late night dinner after a rather tipsy ghost tour. The service was fast and communicative, even though we arrived 40 minutes before close. The food was absolutely delicious. I order the alligator po'boy. The ratio of bread to meat was a touch high, but the sandwich was still delicious.
I loved the attention to detail and the commitment to theme in the restaurant. The napkins were folded like bats and the silverware was gold (vampires can't touch silver after all. The menu was vampire themed, with "blood" juice and rare burgers.
Holly Hernandez
The burgers were awesome. Stick to the burgers. The pear Bellini was awesome and the blood bag cocktail: pomegranate lemonade vodka was great! Careful with the other cocktails. The baked brie was good, but stear clear of the seafood gumbo. It tastes like it was canned maybe? The burgers though were really good.
Vanessa Troupe
Cool concept. It is across from a notorious 3rd floor vampire brothers apartment.
They do have the iv bags of sangria or else you can go in and get another drink
It is busy in there though
Michael Crumling
Spectacular is the best word.
The food and service were spectacular. As one who necessarily eats in restaurants daily, I can say that this meal was one of the best I've had in 20 years!
The table on either side of us agreed! Great presentation, creatively offered, deliciously flavored!
Call ahead to get on the waiting list!
Strawberry
For any fans of the all-things creepy and spooky, this place is definitely for you, I loved the atmosphere of this place, from the clever names for food options like the Vampire or Dracula Burger to the Blood Bag, this place is super cool, I've always been a fan of the dark and mysterious, sunk my teeth right into all the great things this place has to offer!
Larry Williams
The atmosphere was so cool! The wait staff was super friendly and the food was great! I had the ribeye, and it was seasoned and cooked to perfection
Chris Brussow
Food was ok, even tasty, service was good. Our waitress was sweet.
But the prices and portions were out of control. 2 snack sized salads (which were tasty) and decent shrimp and grits $85, wow, just wow. No real draw otherwise. Might look for something a little more fair priced or portioned.
Kelly Eom
Bottomless mimosas for $16, y’all. Need I say more?
Also, shrimp and grits. Wonderfully seasoned and a perfect complement to the drinks
Steve Saenz
Such a cool Vampire vibe. Got a Dracula Burger that is a mix of ground beef and brisket. It was perfect. Probably in my top 3 best burgers. My wife and daughter enjoyed a ribeye steak. My daughter has a strawberry allergy and the waitress made sure to check the ingredients of the tea she ordered. When she found it had strawberry, the waitress brought two other options out. Everything, food, drinks and service, were wonderful. We will be back for dessert.
Ashley Suarez
My first time here, I wish I knew about it sooner. I order the fried deviled eggs for the starter, one topped with smoked salmon, one with capers, and the other topped with caviar... All were DELICIOUS! For the main course, I ordered the vampire burger with homemade chips... Also delicious. I also got the type O- drink, Vampire BlackBerry Mojito, it was the best! I will definitely be going back for the blood bag drink, not listed on the menu.
Dennis Monn
This place just has a really good vibe and the food is good. The service and friendliness of the staff made our day! We had a one-year-old in the bartender brought over a little fruit cocktail to keep him occupied. The server was just so kind and patient. So nice.
Cory Duren
Food was amazing. We went for breakfast and then came back that night for dinner. Their breakfast sandwich is great. Light and flaky croissant, and the onion bacon jam goes really well with it. I also met the owner. She is exactly like you would expect a vampire to look. She was a bit busy with work, so I tried not to bother her too much.
Patryk Godlewski
I stopped by for some drinks and to check it out for first time. Very fun and unique atmosphere. The drinks served in blood bags are nice touch. Pomegranate lemonade vodka was definitely better choice on such hot sunny afternoon. Be sure to check out the boutique store next door.
casey and sabrina Evans
Beautiful place, it is a must go and eat if you are visiting. The seafood gumbo was amazing, the vampire burgers are awesome. The staff were all polite, the atmosphere was perfect. We even took our very well behaved 12, 9, and 4 year olds with us. They loved the food. Thank you for being amazing and unique, and thank the chef for the amazing meal.
Marjorie Pokorny
The salmon here was excellent with beet puree as a splendid touch. Chicken leg was good. I have to say that the desserts were not at the same level as the entrees. The carrot cake cheesecake description was a bit off and chocolate cake was just regular chocolate cake...nothing special. I will absolutely go back and skip dessert.
Tiana Naylor
We had a great experience here! The food was amazing, portions and prices are reasonable. Our waitress was super fun, gave great drink suggestions and was quick with service. The atmosphere is super awesome as well.
jonathan ciarpelli
Jasmine was so kind and friendly and pretty! Loved having her as my server! I will come back just for her! Oh the food was good as well! My only complaint is I got the summer salad, it’s $15 for the smallest plate of arugula, what a rip off.
David L. Sloan
Best grits I’ve encountered in this life. They nailed it on food, service, atmosphere, and attention to detail.
Angela Henry
A fun dining experience unique to the city of New Orleans. Great staff and delicious food! A fun bonus of a Vampire Boutique to visit after your meal.
Emily D
What a great experience- food and service was great. We left very happy with our dinner pick!
Gumbo, Vampire Burger and Brussel Sprouts were all awesome! My daughter said she could eat Brussel Sprouts again tomorrow. :)
From the moment we entered, until the time we left, Ken took great care of us! I had one happy daughter tonight, thank you Ken!
Janice
The food was delicious. The staff great and the atmosphere was perfect. A must stop by if you are in the area.
Audrey Audrey
Cool, quiet and relaxing. Very friendly and attentive staff. Cocktails are categorized by blood type 😅 We pulled in to get away from the humidity and found an oasis. Read the menu while we sipped our li'l drinkies and wished we had breakfast there. The staff are engaging in a real and mellow way, all with excellent senses of humor. This is a real treat and easy get-away from the Bourbon Street madness.
Courtney K
The theme was cute and service was good, but overall the experience was just fine. Small portions that delicious BUT super pricey (but isn’t everything in the FQ?). Spent $55 before tip on two small appetizers and two beers.
Erica Carrillo
So this place is gorgeous, and the ambiance is very nice. This is a place I'd go again for just drinks, appetizers and desserts. The meal itself was , subpar. The waitress took a good minute to get to us, didn't greet us just asked what we wanted to order. , The appetizers came over late and we got our entrees like 2 minutes later. There was food stuck to the bottom of my friends wine glass, and she ordered a Pinot noir so we didn't know until she was almost done with. They said that they would pour her new glass and literally never brought it back? I ordered the steak which came with mashed potatoes and asparagus, I thought the whole plate was bland, my friends ordered the burgers and absolutely love them! They also got the garlic and pork belly appetizers, which were both 10 out of 10.
I'm not going to knock the entire place for just my bad experience, sometimes that happens. But it's definitely a cool place to visit!
Heather P
Our waitress was great, the shrimp and grits amazing, and the atmosphere fun.
Oldair Da Silva
We stopped by a couple of times during our recent visit to NOLA. The first time around we stopped by for a quick appetizer after having seen pictures of the fried deviled eggs and they definitely did not disappoint, one of the more unique takes on deviled eggs that I have ever seen, SO DELICIOUS. We also tried the Tuna Tartare which was amazing and quite tasty. The drinks were great and they are not skimpy with the alcohol, I highly recommend any one of their cocktails. Their wines are great as well, I enjoyed the Cabernet and “Fang”ria.
For our second visit on Saturday, we did the dinner/séance package. We started off with a Watermelon Gazpacho that was delicious. This was followed by Ceviche made with scallops, also quite delicious. For the main course I had the hangar steak with chimichurri sauce and a side of polenta. EVERYTHING was fantastic.
The ambience and the staff at this place are fantastic. Heidi was especially helpful and provided us with great service each time. I highly recommend this place; I am sure it will quickly become one of the “go-to” spots in the French Quarter.
Steve N
Visited during lunch on a Tuesday to enjoy a meal and it was delicious - braised pork belly, couple of salads and chocolate cake 🙌 all of our food was great. Overall, our experience there wonderful, fun, welcoming, and friendly. Thank you, to the people who make it happen! Take care all 🙌
Mary House
Great atmosphere. Cool drinks in blood bags, unique dishes all very tasty. Portions were small but we didn't leave hungry. Food was flavorful and worth the visit.

What kind of sorcery did you put in that vampire cream?!! Delicious!!! We went twice! The burger was to DIE for!!! The atmosphere was spot on and the staff were beyond friendly!!! My favorite restaurant in New Orleans! Did I mention that Vanpire sauce?!! Omg!! Open one in NYC and bro bring that Vanpire cream!
Renee Colombel
First time here and it did not disappoint! We will be returning customers for sure
SamuraiNola2021
I wish I could give it ten stars! The overall experience was amazing and fun, we sat at the bar and Dawn served us.
I had the Dracula Burger, it was cooked perfectly and it was a combo of sweet and spicy, I enjoyed it very much.
Then...we had a cocktail called a B- and let me tell you, that it was incredibly delightful.
Had the pleasure of meeting with the owner Marita Crandle and she was an absolute delight and told us about the Potions lounge that is a $10 cover charge to get into and is a seance speakeasy lounge... ONLY if you know what the password is (I know it, but I'm not telling) made the experience even more fun.
If you are into vampires or vampire lore and come to New Orleans, it is highly recommended that you make time to come here, then visit the shop behind it after you eat.
Amazing experience and staff!
Thank you Marita and her incredible staff for a pleasurable experience!

While in Rome, right?
When I checked in the place was packed. Even the bar.
I was immediately greeted, and seated a few minutes later.
The place settings are gold tone (in line with the vampire "no silver" theme) and the crimson napkins are shaped like bats.
The waiter brought me water (which is always refilled) and offered me a bloody mary (apparently it was brunch). He took my order and whisked away the menu.
The wait for my order (alligator po'boy) was a bit long, but worth the wait. Along with the well-flavored sandwich came fresh-made chips.
Denise Adams
Just recently found this little gem. The food was fantastic but the service was even better. Josh was our server and he was very attentive and informative. Our experience was made so much better by him.
Y Sal
Pretty cool theme. They have blood bags to enjoy. I had a baked Brie appetizer and it was so good with their balsamic and strawberries. Really recommend
Get Glitched
We stopped in here straight off our flight and I am so glad we did. Wine by the bottle is more than reasonably priced, I got a steak ( rare of course ) and it was perfect. The staff was friendly and everything was great.
Jo Anne Shaffer
Casual service with expertly-planned & prepared food. We had eggs with potatoes that had a hint of garlic; jam for the biscuits came in a small jar. The Bar offered a selection of drinks also available for takeout. Not open late at the time of this writing.
Judy
This restaurant has the most amazing food. Upscale but reasonably priced and very clever menu. Jasmine gave us 1st class service and great recommendations+We will definitely make this a regular stop on return visits!
Sydney Houlemard
decided on a spur of the moment trip to vampire cafe at 10pm on a monday! overall, it was a fine experience. got some brussels sprouts and my friend grabbed a burger. both were pretty good! we also decided to get some “spiked tea” which was a great option and didn’t disappoint. however, our waiter seemed a little disconnected throughout our time there.
Kevin Connor
Bartender provided amazing customer service and had a great atmosphere!
Anne Ahrendt
The drinks & appetizers are amazing-come here for the food!
Miranda Wold
Beautiful restaurant, vibes on point. The blood bag drinks are super cute and creative. Slightly expensive but well worth it for the service you get.
Tayla Bagley
Richard was the absolute best! This place is so cool! The food is fantastic! But nothing would have been as enjoyable without richard! He was so kind and helpful with suggestions on where to go and how to be safe!
Mel
Has awesome ambiance, friendly staff and good food! I had the alligator po boy the sauce was incredible spicy if you like spice, i highly recommend !
Ben Morse
Loved this place went back multiple times over the course of 2 days. Great food the alligator was delicious and the blood bag alcohol was great. Only thing was the price a little expensive but worth it in the end. Overall great experience.
Mz Mischief
I love this place. Great staff. Delicious food. Fantastic drinks. Went for brunch. Third time for myself and first time for my friend.
Brianna Marton
Brunch was spectacular! I even braved the sun to come enjoy this amazing atmosphere! My burger was as rare and juicy and it was perfect! The bloody mary ... what can say but yum!!
Lacy Kuhn
An amazing spot off the main strip that has incredible drinks and fantastic food! Would come back to NoLa just for this place!!
Karis Clark
Visited here a couple of days before Halloween. It was really busy, the lady behind the bar was helpful and friendly despite being rushed off her feet. Only had drinks, but the food looked good 😊
erica brown
I love what they are trying… service was a bit slow and the food is way overpriced for the portion and the flavors fell flat. This is NOLA. Flavor and spice is everything. The blood bags were cute though!
Ola Belmonte
What a fun experience. The Fangria is a must. The food and service were wonderful.
Katrine Borrud
As a local, I really love a place that I can count on to be good every time. Whenever I want a good steak, the steak au poive is the only one I can think of; that pepper sauce is the best.
Joey Smith
Really nice vibe. Excellent service. Theme and drinks seemed kitchy at first but the gimic was actually fun and we'll executed. The food was slightly pricey for the portions but the food was also exquisite. The fried deviled eggs were amazing and the scallops were cooked to perfection. I highly recommend stopping by.
Alisha Ketcheside
Food was good. Not exactly kid friendly but if your kids will eat burgers you're golden. They do serve all their meats rare unless specifically asked for another temp so take that into account while ordering
Henry Colins
We were so lucky to just walk random in this amazing restaurant. Everything was amazing... Food, stuff and atmosphere!
Bad Betsy
Just had drinks, the wine flight was good. And I love the theme. Be sure to see the boutique around the corner.
Richard Cardone Blackcat (FeketeMacska)
Our go-to! Cool vampire theme with great food and fantastic drinks. The staff is friendly, and service is wonderful!
Sam Elliott
We only got the charcuterie board, but that was fantastic. Order the wine. It comes in a blood bag.
Marcel Pillich
Seriously delicious food and great service, the ribeye is to die for (pun intended) and the alligator bites are incredible too :)
Peggy Muga
We stopped by for some desserts. Delicious!!! All of them were amazing!
Dee Stafford
Wandered in right before a late show at Preservation Hall-- told waitress we just wanted a few appetizers & drinks...she was most cooperative & friendly, bringing us our drinks, Brie and Fried Deviled Eggs quickly...which we ate quickly and left. After the show, we returned for a late dinner: new waitress was just as helpful and nice. Our food was served in reasonable time ( place was full, Final Four Weekend) and everything we ordered was good. I recommend Vampire Cafe for good food, good drinks and a nice staff👍👍
H E
This place was alright! I enjoyed sitting here and having some drinks while reading my book. I do wish they had some smaller tables by the window so i could have sat there, because it was midday and not busy but I did not want to take up a whole table since I was just having cocktails and reading my book.
The bartender was very kind. I think they could have better interior decor - It seems about halfway into it's theme but could have much more gothic decor and vibes to it.
Veronica Berton
Cute setup, nice drinks, I didn’t pick the greatest meal option but atmosphere was a good vibe
Krystal Craig
Literally the beat ribeye I have ever had. The food is amazing, and priced correctly. You definitely get an experience when you go here. I will be back!
Shannon Miller
The atmosphere is great and the staff are friendly. I had the Vampire burger, as did most of my table. I really like the burger. I found the flavor unique since it is ground beef and brisket. My downsides were a limited menu and I think the atmosphere music could be a little louder and themed.
Danielle Bright
The restaurant itself is cute, who doesn't love the vampire theme while visiting in New Orleans. What wasn't great was the charcuterie board for 28$. First no one told us what the cheses or meats were when it was brought to the table and it literally came with 6 crackers for two people to share. Lots of cheese left over.
Stephanie
Ok…let me just say…I have been SOOOO excited to visit the Vampire Cafe, as I am and always will be a Twi-Hard. Well, my expectations were 100% exceeded!!! The decor is all that you’d hope for, with eeriely gorgeous flickering chandeliers and an absolutely perfect blood-shade-of-red accent wall. Now, the blood bag drink is the most fun thing ever!!!!! Before you receive the blood bag, you will be instructed on how to use it safely and properly. Is there really blood in it? You’ll just have to find out for yourself….but I will say…ever since I finished mine…I have been craving more than just a steak lately…
Jeff Pellman
I got the alligator po'boy and it was delicious. My friend got a burger and was still talking about it the next day. We ate out on the sidewalk which, I think, made the experience better. Service was great, really friendly server.
Jeff Steindl
An absolute must!!! The shrimp and grits were amazing. The customer service was top notch!
Jo Barrios
Stumbled across this gem when we were in town for Jazz Fest. We planned to go to Court of Two Sisters but decided to stop here instead. So glad we did. The atmosphere was perfect. Service was phenomenal. Food was exceptional. Highly recommend
Mark Moses
Amazing place for the ambiance, creativity and the food...Loved the Deviled Eggs, and the steak was amazing, not to mention the savory cocktails. A must visit...
Naomie Sartain
Food and service was amazing. There is a bit of a wait but that is expected. Servers were super friendly and on it with checking on their tables. Would 100% come back and recommend. Sooooo good
Megen Bowery
Came in here bc, well, vampires. Let’s start with the drinks. The ones we had were A+, B-, as well as the Fangria (I love a good pun). Phenomenal. Period.
(You can find all of these and more on their website as well if you’re curious about what’s in them.)
Now the food. Two words - blackened alligator. The only downside is I wanted a bigger portion bc I could eat my weight in it. The seafood gumbo was one of the best I’ve had as well and everything came out quickly and hot.
The service was amazing and our server was knowledgeable and gave us ideas on where to go next.
Just go there. You won’t regret it. 🧛🏻♀️ 🩸
Julio Lopez
We came looking for a tarot or palm reading since somebody recommended it, but we were disappointed that no one was available. Food was good and wine better, but the highlight of our experience was when a little mouse enter and walk through the dining room while everyone was freaking out..!! No apologies or discount for that incident though... 😕
hantita 6969
the vampire burger was so juicy and hot:) the service is great and the energy and vibe of the place was unmatched. def coming back :)
Angel
I love all things that have to do with vampires 🧛🏻♂️🦇 so this definitely was a hit for me. Cozy little café to grab a bite to eat and A must try is definitely the Vampyre Vodka Cocktail 🍸 🧛🏻♂️
Victoria Duran
I was so excited to visit! Can't wait to come back. Such a lovely atmosphere, definitely a place to dine if you love vampires. The Alligator Po'Boy was delicious 😋 so were the breakfast items everything was so fresh a delicious.
Gabrielle Vasquez
Love the menu theme and the staff was very attentive and provided a great attitude to the theme of the cafe. The decor and furnishings are wonderful as well. Definitely worth a visit when in NOLA!
Angela Padulese
This place was so much fun. What a great concept and great people. I would give it 5 stars but I didn't try any food only drinks. It's a great place to stop in.
Justin Roman
Great atmosphere.Great staff. Great cocktails. Only not 5 stars because the food was higher-brow than expected. Don't let that deter you, this place is awesome.
Emily Myerscough
Goth isn't dead, it's alive and well! I expected a gimmicky atmosphere and mediocre food, but instead I got a fun, inviting atmosphere and EXCELLENT food. The Shrimp and Grits were fantastic, the Blackberry Mojito was quality, and the service left nothing to be desired. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.
Bigg Wizurd TV
Wonderful! New Orleans 100% We were wandering and looking for a light early dinner and this place is perfect. The atmosphere is great, the food is amazing, and wonderful service.
Aaron Christopher
Amazing food! I loved the unique quality theme here. It spoke to my inner need (The Originals). This is a true Nola must!
Grady Hoellrich
Don't let the Vampire theme fool you, this is a great place to get an upscale delicious meal. The blood aesthetic is used in cocktails and even menu items, but everything is well thought out. Highly recommend the Fried Deviled Eggs!
Carlos A. Chacon
I had the shrimp and grits. All I got to say is that this was hands down the best meal of the trip. I'll come back to eat there in the future.
Jessica R
Beautiful decor but it felt cramped inside. Also a little disappointed in the quality of the food for the high prices charged. It was $17 for a burnt burger with chips. I would maybe come back for drinks but the food wasn't worth it.
Anthony Ibarra
Accessible entrance and has an accessible restroom. Food was great. Staff was friendly. Lil on the pricey side, but thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Matthew Alexander
Cool vibe. Totally worth it to try the drinks & fried alligator.
Vox Populi
Blackened alligator - wow. This is a must. Easily the best alligator we've had in louisiana.
Pork belly - we felt the pork belly confused itself. It wanted to be glazed and ended up being crispy. In my opinion, this dishes misses and maybe misunderstands the beauty that pork belly has to offer.
Duck - I loved the duck. I will say this though, I was a little confused by the vegetables. They seemed an afterthought. Didn't really understand how they incorporated into the dish or made it better in any way.
Steak Au Poivre - least impressive au poivre I've had. Steak was amazing though, sans the sauce. Quality of the meat meant it didn't need the sauce anyway.
We both felt dinner was about 6.75/10.
Mrs Carter
Food was overpriced for what we got. The Nutella French was literally a piece of toast with Nutella spread on it. ONE PIECE OF TOAST. Server/waiter was very pleasant though.
Deirdre Lohrmann
I saw this place while checking out local eateries before coming down. Loved the braised pork belly with jalapeño relish and honey garlic sauce. So addictive. Ordered 2 sets because they were great. If you you enjoy red wine get the wine board. If you want to order it to take home you can check out their website and have stuff shipped.
Jenny Lawless
This place has bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s with any breakfast entree. The french toast is so thick and coated in egg. I highly recommend the eggs pontchartrain, it had fresh made, flavorful crab cakes on poached eggs and toast and smothered in delectable hollandaise sauce!
Buldamoosh
Excellent bar. We didn't get food but the service was awesome.
Damaris Montúfar
Just got drinks at the bar!
I enjoyed it! It’s very cute and chill.
Josh was AMAZINg. New best friend.
Patricia DL
Cute little spot.. friendly staff.. i wish the decor was a little more inspiring being N.O, but it was still a nice experience.
Living life
Food service and atmosphere were amazing. The amount of food served wasnt what was expected and not a filing portion. Food was excellent flavor.
Squiggy Derpenshire
Got the Vampire Burger, thought it was expensive until the burger came and it was worth the price. Staff was nice and attentive. 10/10 would go again.
Ryan Harpe
The food was amazing and our waiter was also amazing. Definitely would recommend for anybody to go here.
Andrea Dinosaur
All of the servers here are so fun and kind. Everyone seems excited and happy to work there. The owner is stunningly beautiful and you can tell she takes pride in her work. I love my signed copy of her book. Next time I hope to get it personalized. Definitely check this place out and get the blood bag drinks.
Andreux Lemoine Alexandre
The most bland gumbo I have ever had! Burger was decent but missing flavors and ingredients that were listed in menu. Service was adequate. Atmosphere was quaint. In my opinion this place is blessed by sheer location and expectation of theme. Note to chef: cook your rue more (Medium dark peanut butter color), develop your Trinity, and add salt.
Melissa Bailey
This restaurant is fun with a quirky themed menu, but well worth the visit. The food is great, but our service was excellent! Jason, our waiter that evening, even recognized and said hello to us two days later at a different location. I’ve never had that happen anywhere! Plus, you’ve never had Sangria right until you drink it out of a blood bag! 😁
Michael Delamere
My friend & I visited on a Tuesday afternoon. It wasn’t terribly busy upon arrival but within an hour’s time it got quite busy. There is some limited outdoor seating available. We had drinks & appetizers. Service was good. Food quality was excellent. Drinks were good. Prices were slightly above average.
Jayant D'mello
Great Dracula Burger. Blood tea was phenomenal. Would definitely come back here again.
Dydee Q
Cool place for NOLA nightlife or even just a nice breakfast with good coffee. Great service. Really friendly.
Lindsay Kovar
I'm going to be the first to say I was skeptical. However I was pleasantly surprised. The vampire theme is there but not too over the top. Most importantly is that the food is really good. I highly recommend the Vampire Caesar salad. My son tore into his rare rib eye and truly enjoyed it. It does get very busy so you might have to wait a little bit but the food is worth it. The staff was very friendly and did their best to accommodate the crowd.
N Smith
Amazing atmosphere with a mildly creepy charm, super friendly and attentive staff, and the food. I can't do the shrimp and grits justice with words. Everyone at my table had that and Bloody Marys. It was beyond fantastic and I would gladly come back to the French Quarter just to eat there again
Natalie Holden
Of all the brunch places we found during our seven day stay in NOLA this was my absolute favorite. The blood tea was so flavorful that we went and bought it at the gift shop. The smoked salmon salad hit the spot and I was delighted by the ambiance. Definitely check it out if you get the chance.
Alexander Cutler
The atmosphere and the staff were all great, the booze was well priced, but I ended up paying six dollars for two pieces of bat shaped chocolate! I thought they would be much larger, but unfortunately it was like paying six dollars for two pieces of Hersey's dark chocolate... Hopefully the other food items are larger portions to fit the price. Otherwise, very enjoyable.
Rebecca Shirrell
The food was amazing. The service was on point. And it was a cozy restraunt with nice music.
Rachel Atherton
The place was very cute and I really enjoyed the Hunter's Chicken and my blood bag was amazingly delicious. It was pomegranate lemonade spiked with Vampyre lemonade. I will definitely be making my own at home. My only issue was super slow service and the price were high. 12$ for a margarita in a bourban glass and that blood bag was $15. Lots of staff just hanging about out front so not sure what the situation in the kitchen was like or if it's just the staff not paying attention.
Randy Pardo
The cheese platter was amazing. Also, the staff was super friendly. Even though I might be seen as a very touristy restaurant, it's worth a try.
Catherine Quigg
I was looking forward to the cafe! I'm so sad that the different cafe options were not available, and had to opt for just regular coffee (I got the end of the pot, too 😢) The decorations and vibes were wonderful, though. …
Heather Carter
Went here for date night and I feel as though it will only be a one time thing. First off the menu is not big enough to return, I also feel the vampire theme was slightly sub par. I was imagining soo much more on the way here that I was disappointed once seated. The food was okay, drinks were creative and the service was sub par as well. Each time a food or drink item came out that was intended for us was sent to another table. It seems as though they need better communication to know what table food needs to be sent to. I hope they get better.
Ryan M
Amazing menu. The blackened alligator is absolutely out of this world. Top 10 meals I have ever eaten. Friendly and professional staff. You can be a vampire or just a normal person lol. Place is great.
jenn353535
Went there today for lunch, service was impeccable, I had a refill before my drink was even done, server was nice and attentive. I got a burger, and unlike in Canada, I could get it cooked to a medium rare. Being a burger geek that has gone on burger tours, I will say this is one of the best I've ever had. If I wasn't bursting at the seams, I would have ordered another one
Eric Egle
Great bartenders, and one of the best bloody Marys I've had in Nola. Which is fitting for a vampire cafe.
Carol Hutchison
Nice place for brunch!
Rich Heaton
Tiny little hole in the wall off Bourbon Street. Food was beyond amazing. Felt like we were in an Anne Rice novel.
Christopher Ochoa
This place has a great vampire atmosphere. The food was good, the steak and hamburger were tasty.
Lynne Tracey
How do you tell the tale of everything going wrong? Yet what a lovely place. Wrong entrees placed, running out of dishes, forgotten drinks, but Jason our server was such a a class act. He handled it so professionally. Just an off night.
You'll love the romantic Gothic decor and the deviled eggs and steak was delicious (rare of course). The menu was creative. Just needs some appropriate "Dark Shadows" music! Open late which is fabulous! Recommended!!
Susan FavCo
Cute place. Went in for a cocktail only. The food being served looked really good! I would definitely go back. Must try the signature cocktails. They are named after blood types. I recommend the B-.
Zane Williams
Unique.
Food very good.
Bring your vaccination card...was asked to show.
Julie Bradford
Great place. Nice atmosphere, delicious burgers and drinks, superb service. The waiter was the best!
Karen Squazzo
Does not live up to the hype. Food was just ok. Burgers overcooked and alligator was very chewy.
Heather B. (kitten)
The Gumbo and the Vampire Burger were very good. The server was very nice and courteous. :) 13/10
Bryan Faw
Irish cream liquor was very good and brandy heavy as I like nice. Nice ambiance. Not too crowded.
Steph D
we ordered the "deluxe" charcuterie board and were told by the waitress it was "big" (party of 3). Well let me tell you, we couldn't believe they were charging $34... it's a 2 story board, the bottom had 3 types of cheeses (they we're excellent tho) and about 75g of prosciutto. the top part was 4 strawberries, 10 grapes, some kind of fig puree and butterfly shaped crackers??? literally looked like a snack you'd give a toddler but staged on a fancier plate.
we asked our server if there was anything missing afterwards and she said it was normal, althought the menu says "meatS" and she mentionned salami, which we did not get. we told her and she brushed it off. the ceasar salad dressing tasted like nothing. we were a bit outraged by our food order vs the price... it might've been what we chose since the burgers and steak looked pretty good, so just don't bother ordering the charcuterie board and salads.
drinks we're ok by the way, it's a cool bar. maybe not a fantastic restaurant.
Amanda Tutolo
Cool place. Need a little.more decor but cute place. Food was good
george pfeifer
This place is just simply amazing. The food, drinks and staff are top notch imo. A must if you visit the French quarter
Charles Hinkle
Amazing service from Jasmine and amazing food thank you so much.
Tara Trudeau
The best burger I have ever eaten! And the homemade chips?! To die for! Bwahaha Order a drink in a blood bag! Service was great, too!
Oskar Mattsson
Kitschy, campy, goofy, ridiculous, and absolutely fantastic. A must-visit for everyone, but especially for fans of anything vampire-related!
Russ Sharp
The food was very underwhelming. We got the chef's charcuterie tray for an appetizer, and it was very basic and with no details as to what meats/cheeses/etc were on it. My family all got burgers, which they said were good. I got their shrimp and grits, and it was very disappointing. Like brown gravy over boxed grits. The shrimp in it was good, but it's hard to get bad shrimp in the French Quarter. Service was ok, tables are too close together meaning noise is an issue, and the decor really didn't give me a "vampire" vibe. It was more just 19th century gothic, which is actually quite common in the area.
aaron morgan
Best place we ate in New Orleans. Will definitely go back when we make the trip again 😁 …
Angela Atkinson
Last May I travelled home to see clients. It was an intense week. I was meandering through Jackson Square and thought, "I have to at least see the Vampire Cafe". I strolled over to Royal St., close to closing time, and had a seat at the bar. The establishment is unassuming from the outside. However, when you walk inside, there is a decadent, Creole-Parisienne energy that transports you back in time and into the lap of Lestat. I sat at the beautiful bar, and quickly apologized to the staff for coming in that late. They wouldn't hear of it. They welcomed me in and were so happy that I'd stopped by. The bartender and I made conversation over the decadent cocktail menu. he suggested the "Type A+ Dracula Sparkling Pear Bellini". It was cool, refreshingly sweet and bubbly, the PERFECT drink for a warm night! I sat back, continued to make conversation with the staff and let my eyes wander over the stunning bar. After the Bellini, I asked the AMAZING bartender to choose another cocktail for me. He made me the "Type B+ Blood and Sand Whisky Cocktail". It was delicious and equally as refreshing. I spent less than an hour there, but that short visit refreshed me. Thanks to the team at the Vampire Cafe for renewing a weary traveller, and reminding me of how proud I am to be from New Orleans. Blessings on you. ♡
Brandy Garrett
We took our daughter here as a surprise, and it turned out to be the best meal we had in New Orleans this trip. We walked in planning to have something really fancy like the duck or filet, but for some reason the burgers jumped out to all three of us; that never happens! We had both the Dracula burger and the Vampire Burger, and we definitely made the right choice! Those were the best burgers all three of us have ever had! We all tried each of the burgers, and they were all absolutely delicious. I know you can get a burger just about anywhere, but it isn't often that you get one that you'll never forget! Oh, and the homemade chips that came with them were to die for as well! We also ordered the Baked Brie appetizer, and it was wonderful! We will definitely be returning here on our next trip, and in the meantime I'll be dreaming about that burger!
ZombieQueen
We loved it here! It was our last night in New Orleans and we just had to try it since we are huge vampire nerds😂 our waiter definitely looked the part but we didn’t catch his name! We had the b- cocktail which was amazing! My husband had the steak and I had the alligator po-boy and we loved it! The aesthetic is everything! Expensive but well worth it!
Nicole Weber
Excellent place great food! Had an alligator po boy very good. They also embarrassed my boyfriend singing happy happy birthday! Thanks Chris!
Derek D.
Cool spot, good food. Fun staff!
Jerrod Kaplan
Fun little place with a tiny menu. A menu with ABSOLUTELY NO BLOOD DISHES on it. Best you can do is a very rare steak. So, great place for daywalking posers.
That was a seriously delicious burger I had though, I can't lie. Homemade chips too!
Sarah Hubbard
Napkins folded like bats. Fries deviled eggs are amazing. But the best part of the experience was Richard our server. What a delightful customer oriented experience! And he was very helpful with suggestions and local knowledge
Vince Wilson
The best theme place in New Orleans! Perfect atmosphere and menu. The food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend!
Nancy Beach
Best french toast I have ever had. The syrup was wonderful! Unique experience!
Joshua Cleveland
Everything about this place is unique and fun from the drinks to the appetizers. HIGHLY recommend trying this place out.
Angel Rowe
Such a wonderful surprise. Fine dining with exceptional staff. Very friendly welcoming atmosphere. Excellent experience and food.
Stephen Adams
This place is amazing! Really love the vibe and atmosphere. My only request, take the bright light bar by the entrance down or turn it off and this place would almost have a creepy vibe... its off the beaten path of Bourbon St. so there are alot less people, the streets not quite as lit as the others, and while sitting inside, an actual horse-drawn carriage came riding through that really made this place feel "old world" . Will definitely return on my next trip down...
Jennifer Maron
We visited Vampire Cafe not once but twice during our visit to New Orleans! The food was so delicious. The place has such a cool vibe. We had Richard as our server and he is absolutely amazing! I'd come back just to see him. Thank you so much!
Sean Craft
Very cool vibe to the place with excellent cocktails. Love that they lead out with the fact that all of their meats are served rare unless otherwise stated, which is exactly how I like my steaks and burgers. A must visit 😊 …
Lauren Manning
This was our first stop in New Orleans and we had my dog (as we couldn’t check in to our hotel yet). The Staff is INCREDIBLE! They are super friendly and accommodating. The food was phenomenal as well!
Natasha Lane
Decently priced food with great service! This cafe is probably going to be my go to anytime I need to pop in somewhere very quickly to grab a coffee or a quick bite to eat. It was very convenient, they checked vaccination cards, and the majority of staff wore masks. I enjoyed the food, themed decor and would definitely recommend.
Amanda Garcia
So many details. They have drinks based on your blood type. Bat napkins. Awesome experience.
Gus Gussman
I was in New Orleans for a week, so I was on the prowl for interesting places. This restaurant came up on the list of best steaks so I went. For a Monday the place was mobbed. As a single diner I was put at the bar. Ordered dinner and a margarita, bar tender was slammed so it took him a few minutes to get to my order. About the worst margarita I have ever had, lime aid with salt on the rim??? Asked for water, it tasted like they had sent the bus boy to the river to get it. I switched to Coke, 3rd time does the trick. I ordered the filet, it ROCKED. Perfect, sides good. The fun part was the filet was served with a 1/2 bone and marrow. Very vampirish. I would have given the restaurant a 4 if the margarita had been anything but bad. The bartender and bar back were very entertaining, there were 2 20ish pretty young women seated next to me. The one really flirted with the bartender. Lol, it was obvious he was not interested, tremendously funny to observe. One time in my life I had more attention paid to me, as an old man, than was paid to pretty women. Worth going to just for the ambiance.
tamalyn scott
This place was a lot of fun. Our waiter was AWESOME!
Brady Woodington
The food was delicious. I got the vampire burger, spouse got the filet. Both cooked perfectly and in a timely manner despite it being very busy. Drinks were delightful as well. The atmosphere was exactly what I'd hope for in the location.
Saint Dávila
Food and dessert are great and the staff is attentive. I had a steak, alligator and an espresso cake
Brooke Forrest
Very nice atmosphere. Great customer service, and even more excellent food. The food came pretty fast. AMAZING COFFEE. i got the vanilla iced. 10/10 recommend and will be back
Jamie McDaniels
The food is delicious but the WINE! We were told that the owner of the restaurant is friends with a winemaker in CA and that they get wines made especially for the Vampire Cafe. It’s been years (maybe never) since I’ve had a wine flight where I loved them all! The pinot was my favorite. And they are not expensive and you can take them to go!!!
Vanesa CG
I definitely like this restaurant, Perfect for quick lunch stop and they have a nice theme
Duane Sartor
Shrimp and grits! 5 stars for sure! Don't forget a bloody Mary. Tasted the vampire burger, very good as well! Highly recommend, it's a groovy place with a fun and playful vibe!
Rose CANNON
The people are amazing and so welcoming! The food was a slice of heaven on earth! 10 out of 10 would do again! This was the most amazing place we ate at. The people were super friendly and we could not have asked for better food. If heaven had a flavor I imagine it would be the flavor of this establishment. And I want to thank Richard for personally for making me want to come back to New Orleans just to see him and eat here.
Christina Word
This was so far the best experience of my New Orleans trip. The wait staff was very sweet and doting.
Raymond Laffere
The gothic ambiance and decor make this place very appealing in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The staff are courteous, thoughtful and professional. The drink menu is to die for; and the food is a eclectic blend of American steakhouse, gourmet burger and creole traditional dishes. Ask about the I.V. bags of Fangria (fruit blended wine), as well as a Blood and Sand, my personal favorite.
Cynthia Letting
Such a neat bar to stop at! There are a few drinks that come in fake blood bags which was super cool. The staff was also very friendly!
Mattie1599
I went on Mardi Gras of this year having been meaning to try this place, but knew it was a little more costly than others around. I had been aware of it awhile and let's be honest with it in the quarter I knew it had to be fairly decent so I thought let's give it a shot. I tried the burger and was completely shocked. Im not kidding when I say this burger literally killed all other burgers for me. When I have eaten a burger since I cannot help but feel like "it's pretty good", but not like the amazing burger here. I kid often that I both loathe and love this place for doing that.. lol.. I still honestly think about and crave this burger for when I get back around that area. It is absolutely worth every penny and look forward to the next time I can get one from there.
Amanda Weaver-Laird
Great spot for brunch/lunch. The blood bag drinks were so cute and delicious!
James Redmond
This place is amazing! Totally worth the visit!! The Vampire Steak Tartare was LOVED by my wife. I had the tomato salad.....the fresh basil they added made it over the top amazing! The service was awesome as well. Go see Alison, she will definitely take care of you. Don't miss the opportunity to go here. You won't regret it!!!
Kasey Francis-Eusea
this place is fangtastic. my wife and i loved the food and atmosphere. our server katie was the best, as was the boss hostess!
Craig Ross
I have had people tell me I cook the best steaks. Why would I ever want to go out for steak. This place is why. The steaks my wife and I got were great. They were cooked perfect had just the right amount of char. The seasonings were excellent no need to add anything. The sides that came with them were also a good. Our server Kat was very good and made the meal so much better. By the way have creme brulee.
Chrome Ninja
This is an amazing Cafe with some great drinks!
The atmosphere here is definitely its main selling point, everything is centered around vampires from the drinks to the food.
Bryson the food here is not what I expected as it was extremely good and one of the better places I have been to in New Orleans.
The staff was also amazing and very engaging with us while we were visiting.
Jim Aiken
A great surprise. I thought the cuisine would be gimmicky., but not so. The alligator was one of the best appetizer I’ve had. The Dracula hamburgers had the perfect combination of ingredients. Service very good. The dinner menu looked great. We will return for dinner.
Patrick Hudson
If i could write a million 5 stars for this place I would. Very seldom do I eat somewhere and feel the quality is actually elevated from anything I've had in my life.
The Burger was ridiculously out-of-this-world. The drinks were insanely great. We had some amazing apetizers too. Oh, and the service? Full of character, one of our favorite things about it was everyone who worked there. Whoever's running this place, great job
Isabella Flug
Amazing atmosphere, food, and people!!! our server was super fun and kind, and all the options on the menu were creative and delicious. pulled off victorian vampire vibe without it being cliche or trashy. 1000/10. if you are into any dark inclined aesthetics please get brunch or dinner here!
Amanda Hyatt
This place has the best staff, and the food was AMAZING! We will be back next time we are in NOLA!
Sue Bertoncini
This place is decorated just right, comfortable, very clean, great service, friendly staff... Welcoming environment. Food was great! Fairly priced. We had the roasted garlic appetizer... New to us; yummy and unique. I had the vampire burger... It was cooked and dressed just right; ate every bite. My sister had the salmon and ate every bite too. Such a casually elegant cute place. Ladies... Check out the toliet paper holder in the bathroom.
Crissy Bushman
I had to go because I love the lore of the Vampire! Admittedly I was skeptical because the same owner did the Vampire speakeasy here and it was subpar.. mostly because of the staff.
The Cafe was grand! I was so impressed with the decor and detail. Food was also very good! Our server was super nice also and answered all of my ridiculous questions without batting an eye! (See what I did there?)
If I had to point out some negatives, the music isn't what I imagine it should be. It was 80's and soft rock. It really needs to have a more ethereal or Gothic feel in my humble opinion. There is also no chicken on the menu and not a whole lot of vegetarian options except sides.. which we ordered. I get it, vampires are blood suckers and don't eat chicken.. maybe? 😊
Barbara Zelonka
Generally don't expect much from theme restaurants, but we were pleasantly surprised. Brunch was delicious, we didn't have to wait very long to be seated, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Grey Elementalist
I got blood tea (fruity black tea), the alligator po' boy, which was really well made, and the chocolate vampire bats, which were also really good, if a little tough. I really liked how they stuck with the theme, and the attention to detail in making the food was excellent.
Melissa Bates
The food was very good. We didn't get our appetizer until AFTER our entree, which was very disappointing. Honestly, for the price you can find better in the French quarter.
crystal riddle
Employees were super cool and amazing, food was delicious. Brought a table and chairs outside for us cause we had our dog. Would recommend this place to all, vampire burger is great, homemade chips wonderful.
Eric Doyle
When you run out of human blood you can always get some seafood gumbo!!
Joel Sutcliff
Oh lordy (/pos)
I dont even know where to start but like Wow.
-The food was great and they made sure it was made celiac safe!
-I dont drink BUT they had an option to get drinks in blood bags! amd isnt that the cutest thing youve ever heard of.
-THEY HAD DOGGY MEALS!!! you could order a meal for your puppy!!!!!! thats so cute ohmygod
-gold utensils instead of silver which makes sense at a vampire place so nice attention to detail.
Actually best place i went in new orleans /srs
Century Egg Congee
THE SHRIMP AND GRITS!!! I could eat it everyday if I could, it’s the best I’ve ever had. My mouth waters every time I think about it. Can’t wait to go back to Nola and eat here. Service was great waiters and waitresses are super nice and wonderful. Interior decor is amazing. Wish I could give more stars 🖤 …
Elizabeth Adams
Must try blackened gator and the Dracula burger. The drink bags are so much fun. Gotta go.
Sarah Hodney
Cute little cafe with a fun atmosphere and themed food & drinks. Would be higher, except while we were there the owner sat at the bar drinking, yelling at the bartender, interrupting orders and pouring her own drinks while drunk. Very unprofessional, and just trashy.
Avoid their "Potions Speakeasy" that they will invite you to unless you're ok with a cover charge.
Nicholas Milano
Excellent food and drinks! Definitely try the Bloody Sands Martini oh and a bag of blood!
(Sangra)
Ralph Massarczyk
This place has its own theme, and everything from the interior to the food follows it.
We just came for drinks and snacks. Everything was delicious and quick. Servers were friendly.
The only thing I regret is that I leave tomorrow NOLA and can't go there again
Kellie Saltzman
Fun place. Great burgers! Staff were so friendly! Drink menu is awesome! 💉🧛♀️🍸♥️ …
Tyler Mauk
My wife and I came here for lunch. We were seated at the bar and had a great time chatting with the staff and another guest next to us. The food was absolutely amazing. Wife did the breakfast burger and I had the alligator poy boy. We also did some yummy passion fruit bellinis. The vampire named menu items and decor were super fun. They even have a drink served in a blood bag. Ask about other local spots to have a drink. The vampires know some great spots.
Dee Bennett
I have to say I was kinda disappointed, after seeing all the good posts.
The staff was unorganized, and unsure of menu options.
The vampire burger was fair in taste. We were told after order was placed a change in side dish was 5.00 up charge.
Drinks even water, were not delivered as ordered, and refills were not spontaneous upon reaching bottom.
I will give them a try again, but perhaps later in season.
Cheryl Feinstein
Went for dinner. Service was ok, food was meh. Definitely don't expect your steak to be cooked correctly. Might be just better as a bar...
x x
Shrimp n grits with sausage was full of flavor.
Cozy seating. Loud bartender (was enjoyed). Funny hostess.
O- blackberry mojito was delicious
AB- gin was gross
Chia-Yi Wu (Ashley)
Super cute blood bag 😍
W Dunn
The cafe itself looks wonderful, gold flatware, cloth napkins shaped like fangs, blood type themed drinks. A lovely overall look. The food was great, the drinks were good, but unfortunately the service was lacking. The bartender wasn’t very friendly. It was as tad busy so I wasn’t expecting personable over the top service but i was expecting someone who at the very least a bit friendlier. It honestly felt like we were bothering the bartender by being there; maybe that’s just the NOLA way when you’re dealing with bars so close to bourbon street. Needless to say I was disappointed. When we first arrived we were sat set a table. We waited a while for anyone to acknowledge us. When they did we were asked to move because the table we were told to sit at was part of a large party that needed to be put together. Not a problem we said, we’ll sit at the bar. It felt like we were bothering the bartender. Again, I chalked it up to being busy. We ordered some drinks then looked at the menu. They were out of the first two things I asked for, no big deal. Once the food came we were never asked how everything was. We ordered another drink to which we were told that they - the bartender - loved making l but they took a bit to make so it may have been sarcasm. I’m not sure. As I said, it may just be the way bars operate around that area. I was just fairly excited to go here on my trip but so far it wasn’t the nicest experience. It may have been an off night though.
Fred Seelig
The food is very good and priced well considering how good it is. Skip the blood bag drinks. They're weak and just a gimmick. The other drinks are pretty good.
James Woepse
The food was very good. The matradee or person sitting you from the door were very good the food runner was awesome. Our main waiter seem to have started the his day off on a bad foot and taking it out on us. Now to find another restaurant ..
Monique Hamilton
My favorite close to me restaurants were closed when I was hungry and decided to try something new. I didn't have great expectations about the place.
I was wrong! The food was great. Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed our food. Our waiter was really good too! Can't remember his name, I think it started with a J. Thanks for proving me wrong.
John Lawrence
Awesome experience they called us when our table was ready. Dean was an amazing server. The food was excellent highly recommended the alligator po boy or the vampire burger. service was very attentive and the atmosphere was awesome. we found this place by chance however their intentions and business practices and services is not by chance. keep on being awesome vampire cafe. will come back great first dining experience in New Orleans!
24 fun
The food was great. The atmosphere was perfect for a vampire cafe. Our server was very good. However, the hostess that sat us at our table was very rude. That put a damper on the whole experience. Otherwise we would of given 5 stars.
Akina Coleman
Great food, great atmosphere, great drink. Any time I'm in New Orleans I'm going here.
Naomi Boothe LPC
The shrimp and grits here was a spiritual experience. I almost cried it was SO GOOD!
i Ronek
This is my new favorite place in NOLA! The Shrimp and Grits alone are worth finding this hidden gem! Best Bloody Mary I have found! Seek this place out!
Jul Mart
Above and beyond service, amazing food. We called ahead for a party of 6. When we came in the table was ready and set. Let me tell you something, I am a bacon guys. I have eaten bacon in a lot of places in texas. This place has the best BACON I have ever tasted ever. We got bottomless mimosas and our waiter River (yeah, thats his name) kept them filled at all the time. I have never put a review before, this place and out waiter deserved it. Above and beyond service, amazing food.
Celeste Palacios
I was very excited to eat here but have to say I was a very disappointed by the service. We were seated promptly but had to wait close to 20 minutes for a server to approach us. The server was nice but wasn’t very attentive and even forgot to ring in my drink order until I was almost done with my burger.
The food was good but I don’t know if I would come back the next time I’m in town.
Dr. Adrian S Warren
After a week in the FQ, this place has the best food, bar none!! We went to all the places on the famous lists, but ended up coming here 5 times. The Ribeye was simply perfect. The Blood Orange Creme Brulee was sublime. We tried several things on the menu, but these were the top. And the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming.
Cat S
Great food and fun drinks, lean in to the silly concept and you will have a great time.
Staci Jordan
We stopped by for drinks and had the vampire blood bag. Totally awesome!!! We will definitely come back and highly recommend.
Ash Toten
I'm visiting from San Diego with my spouse, we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary. This was a wonderful experience for the both of us, the staff are amazing, and the ambiance really serves up a great experience without feeling cheap. The wine is amazing, the food is incredible, the neighborhood is a lot of fun to walk around in.
Seriously, check this place out if you visit Nea Orleans.
Jenny W
I liked it, didn't love it. Someone we met took us here, the alligator was good but the deep fried deviled eggs were not great. Vibe was fun if you are into that kind of dark and red and vampires but I didn't love it. Really good experience though and wonderful freindly staff.
Billy Billiot
I have literally never had a better dining experience. They have the friendliest, hardest working staff. Somehow they manage to make you feel like the only table in the room even when they are slammed. I wish I could give them more stars. I absolutely love it and will be going back every chance I get.
Tim Canziani
Some of the best shrimp n grits I've ever had!
Kayla Macisaac
I came here based on videos on TikTok and was NOT disappointed at all. The staff is super friendly and really makes sure each guest is welcomed. Richard was amazing and gave us so many tips and was so personable. Absolutely loved every minute of our brunch because of Richard!!
Bobbi Romans
Super fun! Great ambiance and friendly staff.
Fuji Jasper
Food was good
I had the blackened gator bites and vampire burger which were very good
T'nia Da GeM
The staff here was great. i was so excited to try this themed NOLA restairant but was let down by the food. Perhaps it was what i ordered which was Avacado toast w salmon which sounded awesome only for my food to arrive & the salmon was uncooked. I tasted it anyway but found it to be unsatisfying - raw fish isnt my thimg. Coffee was cheap tastinv & very bitter & i feel like this place is over rated. its all apart o the experience. Kudos to the staff they were curteous & professional.
Connie Karnowski
The Blackened Alligator is the BEST I've ever had in my mouth. I've eaten Alligator all my life & off of every menu in this state, this is the absolute BEST EVER! My mouth had an "O" experience.
Alicia Newbill
I got to experience this uniquely spectacular cafe with my husband and best friend during a weekend visit to New Orleans for my birthday a few weeks ago. Jonah was our waiter. He was phenomenal!! The food and drinks were fantastic! I had the shrimp and grits with a pear bellini. My husband and bestie both ordered the steak and eggs. We all thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our visit. Oh, and they serve bottomless mimosas for brunch!!! The decor is elegant, yet not intimidatingly so. You can definitely dress up, or go casual and feel welcome! We will definitely stop in again when we get back out to NOLA!
UUSNMOC Joe
Tourist trap, but fun. Food isn’t great, but the whole vampire thing is fun.
Jason Hales
I enjoyed the Vampire Burger and my wife had the salmon salad. I enjoyed my burger a lot, and though my wife was at first surprised by her salad, since she is not normally a fan of sushi, she did end up liking it a lot. They really dive into the theme which I thought was fun, but the menu is pricier than what it probably could be.
Jennifer Kahler
The ambiance was fun but the food quality was very poor. Our food was very bland and very overpriced for the quality. This is a good place for a cocktail and appetizer but skip it if you want a decent meal.
Michael Hutchinson
We loved this restaurant so much we went back the next day for drinks and dessert. They had one of my favorite things i ate my whole trip. The dracula burger highly recommend. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious.
Dylan F.
Excellent quality of food and friendly staff. The cafe is very aptly named given its gothic decor and selection of vampire-themed wines. The dishes available lean on the higher side in terms of expense, but the overall experience justifies the prices.
Rain Code (Varim64)
Fantastic atmosphere and style, get the blood bags. The food is really solid for the moderate price, and the staff are super friendly. Definitely one of my favorite spots in the quarter.
Angelo Nardini
Served my gumbo without a spoon and the meat inside the dish was cold
Angi Branstetter
Cute place although they were full and the wait was over an hour...they did offer to seat us outside where we had drinks. Would like to return for dinner when we visit Nola again.
Cristian Vlase
Fantastic staff, delicious food and phenomenal ambience.
John Radziewicz
We ate here for a birthday lunch. The restaurant was pretty crowded for brunch but not as crowded as time pushed on for lunch.
Most people at our table ordered the vampire burger. I couldn't taste anything special about the meat meld. And, hile I ordered it rare, it came out medium well. For $19, I feel like they should be able to prepare the burger to temp. I wish there was more vampire theming both on the menu and the restaurant, but that might be a consequence of covid.
Appetizers were pretty good and there were many choices. Drinks looked fun but I didnt have any.
Holly Wood
Absolutely adorable. I got tea and cake and have no regrets. Clean, friendly staff, fun bathroom. A win in my book.
Anna LaPrairie
Amazing meal ...especially the Dracula burger! Best in the french quarter!
Kevin Ames
Great service. And I mean EXCELLENT. Scallops were wonderful.
Myriah Shriver
99.99% sure the mashed potatoes with the $32 tenderloin were instant mashed potatoes lol 😏 But the steak was good. The staff was courteous and nice enough to get a table for my fiancé and I with our 1 year old on a Friday evening without a reservation. Cute little romantic dinner spot …
Michael Peperato
Great atmosphere and our waiter, Ken was really cool with stories and whatnot. The fried deviled eggs and Vampire burger were great.
Tamra Turley
We went for a drink. Mine was in an IV bag--wonderful!! Very interesting cafe and gift shop. Staff was very nice and professional. Will definitely be back!
Bobby Smalley
It was a fun "when I'm Rome" moment. Just had to try it just to say we did. It was fun.
Linda Gane
If I could give more than 5 stars I would!
This place is awesome!! Or server, River, was great!! We had the alligator po boy It was spot on!!
I would recommend this to everyone!!
Matt B.
My coworker in Maryland told me that New Orleans had a vampire bar and said that it is off the beaten path.
I stumbled upon this by accident and told my wife that I needed to go here.
Jason was a great server, kind and polite. I was sad that they didn't have the death by chocolate cake (been searching for this cake a while, if anyone knows of a place please let me know, either in New Orleans or Maryland). Let's get down to it, if you like a margarita with a spicy kick they have it, they also have snowballs (no pun intended) drenched in alcohol. It spilled on the table and looked like blood, so cool hahaha. Had the food but the real experience is being at this place; dress up and no one will judge. Also....ask for a blood bag (to go drink) and send a pic to your parents to freak them out.
As always, remember to tip your bartender and be safe my friends.
Hayley Martin
My dad is a conosoeur of shrimp and grits and he says he can not remember having shrimp and grits as good as at Vampire Cafe and he knows he's never had better. He was very impressed!!!
All other meals were amazing!!
Lexie Life
First off this bar is classy and yet has a fun theme. The staff plays into the bar’s theme of vampires in this historically haunted city. But what made this bar stand out above others was their staff and their caring, protective nature. We stopped here, at the Vampire Cafe, a little before dinner to get drinks to carry around. Later on in the night, when my friends and I had walked around the French Quarter and Bourbon Street, we were walking and this random man started following us. After a few random turns it became apparent this man was following us. We quickly ducked into the nearest bar. One who’s doors just happened to be closed. This bar was the Vampire Cafe. One of the workers politely came over to tell us the bar was closed. But as soon as we told him we were just trying to wait till the sketchy man passed he quickly changed his demeanor and told us we could stay as long as we needed to, to feel safe. Thank goodness! He and two other staff members immediately said they had just got off work and offered to walk us to our car. We then noticed the sketchy man pacing back and forth passed the bar very obviously looking through the windows waiting for us to leave. This is when the owner and two of the more intimidating workers got involved. They offered to call the police. But right then a cop car just happened to drive by and then man acted like he was just looking in a shop window and the cop continued on not knowing what was happening. The owner and the two workers then went out there to confront the guy and tell him to leave. We have now been in the Vampire Cafe seeking safe haven for about five minutes, though it felt longer in the moment. After the owner and two workers came back they waited with us until the sketchy man disappeared from sight. The owner then asked us which way we were headed. We said thank you and that we appreciated it and could get to our car from there. He said, “No which way are you headed because I don’t trust that man is gone and I want to make sure you are safe.” The owner then personally escorted us to near where our car was parked because he wanted people to know that anybody who came to this beautiful city can always do it safely and should feel that. I cannot say enough wonderful things about amazing this staff; who treated our situation, responding so quickly and without hesitation. Even having the workers who were off, offer to walk us to our cars off the clock meant so much. This bar has a fun atmosphere and theming but they have guardian angels (maybe dressed as vampires… theming) working behind the bar. Anytime I come back to this city I will definitely stopped here because they deserve every penny. Please visit this bar and enjoy a drink on our behalf because we all made it home safe tonight thanks to Vampire Cafe’s incredible staff. Be safe!
Anandi Premlall
Simplicity meets Old World Elegance with a Vampire theme that's not cheesy or kitschy. Friendly staff who will cheer with you while having a shot and drink. Locally owned. Woman owned. Support awesome small businesses!

Great sandwich with egg & avocado (vegetarian). Not that good tea and coffee
Jodi Bogue
Birthday shots and roasted garlic with rosemary toast, cute server , blood bag cocktails and chocolate bats! Sang to me and got a card ! Best birthday ever!
Vivian darkloom
If you're a Vampfan like myself you will love this restaurant with the cutest gift shop right around the corner with all you could need from blood bags to Vervain vials!
My husband ordered the 12oz Ribeye and I had the salmon filet we both ate every bit. Our beef tartar was out of this world and my bloodiest Mary was the best bloody Mary I've ever had! The atmosphere was incredible and we will definitely be going back.
Carmin Rodriguez
I loved the place!!!! We arrived without a reservation but we were able to sit at the tables outside. The experience was excellent, I was delighted. Our server was Richard, excellent !!! Very friendly, very attentive and sweet. I hope we can go before I leave New Orleans.
David Followell
The theme was really cool and the staff was nice. The blackened alligator tacos were ok and the smoked salmon eggs benedict wasn't very impressive.
yayo mimo
We were so happy we stopped here! The shrimp and grits were to die for among other things. The staff had to be some of the nicest in the area which says a lot and drinks by blood type lol so cool. You gotta go and check it out.
stephanie lk
This is an absolute Must Visit! The atmosphere, staff, food, and drinks are all amazing!
Jonathan Mallette (Jon)
Very cool atmosphere! Everything is vampire themed from the rare steaks to the blood type drinks. The Dracula burger is definitely one of the best burgers I've ever had 🤤 …
Helen Phillips
Food was a little costly but enjoyed the ambiance .
Cesear Presiado
The staff was very knowledgeable when it came to deciding a drink! The food was good and the presentation was wonderful! And the uniforms were perfect for the atmosphere! I would definitely stop by again!
Kathleen Bering
We stopped in for a drink last minute. My husband and I both had a bag of blood. Quite tasty. I had an A+ as well. The staff was friendly. Just watch out for their fangs. 🦇 …
Molly Boeglin
Very cool place, understaffed. We had a vampire drink with blue curaco that was bad. That recipe needs tweaked. Blackened alligator was delicious.
Chrystal Iglesias
They serve a blood bag with sangria in it! How awesome! Service was great and shop was so cute and clean.
Kathleen Kosmerl
River was AMAZING!! Drinks we’re amazing, and they told us about other bars in the area we liked, so much fun 10/10 will come back when we come back to NO
Jared Massey
Atmosphere is vampy. I quite enjoyed that. Service was just ok. At one point I nearly had to shout across the room to anyone I could get the attention of for a glass of wine. The tartare was bland. It didn't taste bad but for a $17 app I wanna be impressed. Too bad because I was looking forward to having a dish you rarely find anywhere. So cheers to them for trying but it needs a tiny bit of improvement. The entrees were also just ok. Again, the steak was a bit to flavorless to justify the cost. We're just talking some salt here. Nothing crazy. Who doesn't salt a steak? The veggies were cooked ok. The Brussels sprouts were the only thing that was seasoned well and not flavorless. The creme brûlée was what you'd expect. Delicious!
You get 3 stars because after a $150 bill for 2 and bland food, it screams tourist trap. Do better if you care about locals returning.
Chelly Neal
Very cool place to dine in shrimp and grits was delicious
Chris Generos
The Dracula Burger and homemade chips are to DIE For.!
jen monroejohnson
The food was absolutely amazing and waitress really nice but the host made us feel unwanted and kept trying to push sitting at the bar instead of a table. However, the food is definitely worth it.
Donnie Dempewolf
This place was so cool. So many subtle vampire details. Not cheesy. The bartender Ken was the coolest bartender we've had. Spectacular drinks and incredible food. I want to come here everytime I visit New Orleans.
Angel Noe-Fields
Need a bite tonight. So do they! Go ahead and head to New Orleans Vampire Cafe for an amazing meal, bloody drinks and some truly other worldly conversations. Ask for Richard for exceptional conversation and fun undead knowledge. Don't forget to stop at the boutique for some vampire repellent or you may be whats on the menu next....
Michael Hackett
Blood bags were great
Brianne DeVaul
Great atmosphere and attention to details! Staff was very friendly, but expect to wait at least an hour on Halloween 🎃
Mary Frederick
This is an awesome experience. Food was great, had a drink from a blood bag, and our server was incredible. #vampirecafe
Mely M
Great place to eat. For the cost of the food they could supply more food with the cost.. however it was delicious . Everyone was super friendly and fun..
Kyle Done
Food is absolutely delicious. Knocked off one star as prices rival some of the fine dining places that have even better food and music really took you out of ambience. Took off another star because eggs didn’t come with caviar
Paola Garcia
Definitely will return everything was delicious. Great service, recommend the Dracula burger, blood orange creme brulee. They did not have the blood bags for the fangria due to covid but they were delicious and the type b- drink🤤 …
Sean Craig
Great place and very fun. Had to have the blood bag drink. Awesome service and we met the owner. She is awesome!!. Thank you for a great experience.

And bottomless mimosas!?!??! YASSSSS! Food prices were just fine and cheaper than most places in the quarter.Go here and have a good time!
Rachel Filipov
Food was ok, nothing extraordinary. We ordered salads and a meet/ cheese selection. Service was also ok. I wasn’t disappointed nor surprised. Would not go back, but if you like the dark fun touch, the place may be worthy...
Blaze
There was a weird, kinda distant vibe from the staff, but besides that, my experience was above par. Believe it or not, the vampire burger was one of the better burgers I've ever eaten in my life. It took me by surprise!
Mark Harrington
By far THE BEST burger I have ever had. The atmosphere and everything About this little place is amazing. Definitely a must stop on every trip to NAWLins.

Very nice people. We had sangria (Fangria) outside since we had 2 rowdy 3 yr olds with us. We did go inside for a bit. Cool decor. The author of "New Orleans Vampires" was at the bar, so our friend got a signed copy. Very cool!!!
Donne Burrows
Fun place, good food.
ryefry
Really cool fun place. Good food too. I just wish i had gotten the sangria served in a blood donor bag, it looks disturbing, but would have been a great souvenir.
Raymond Myburgh
Delicious food in a beautiful setting with great service.
Chelsea Richardson
Cool place. Ine bartender was very rude to the staff loud enough for the whole pla e to hear which was very off putting but luckily we were seated at a table and had a super nice waitress that was not phased but they rude individual.
Travis Stepp
Amazing decor, awesome staff, had a great steak and the Type O Negative drink.

The steak and garlic appetizer here were both outstanding. The food was only outdone by the phenomenal service. Save yourself the search for a great dinner spot and eat here!!

A wonderful place and the decor is befitting. The servers are always eager and the food is delicious. Needless to say its a bit overpriced.

The fried deviled eggs were a unique dish and very tasty. The duck was so succulent and tasted amazing with the pureed sweet potato.

Out of all the places we ate at this was the best. The atmosphere, food, and the service was beyond amazing. And be sure to try the fried deviled eggs!
