The onion rings were amazing. The rest of the food was served room temperature and was not very good. Our server was great and attentive. The black table clothes were dingy and old looking.

One of my favorite places from my childhood. My grandparents used to take me here when there were alive. There food has always been consistently great. I've seriously never had a bad here. My favorite dish is the Eggplant Pontchartrain.

I'm never disappointed when I come here. The food is always good and consistent and the servers are always fast, friendly and kind. We had the voodoo rolls (which are my favorite), spinach and artichoke dip and the shrimp feast...EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!!!

Came here as I always do when in town. Table of 5 seated upon arriving. The spinach dip was hot. The charboil oysters were a little small, but tasted very good. The voodoo rolls were just as good as always. The sauce definitely complements it. The bon temp chicken was filling. He took some pasta home. I didnt taste the chicken from the salad but it looked good and was more than expected. The catfish Lafayette was also good as always. Took a little less than half home. The seafood platter, however, needs work. The oysters weren't fried enough and the other seafood was barely seasoned.

Firstly, our waiter was super nice, and attentive. The Crawfish voodoo rolls were amazing, definitely recommend forever. I ordered the stuffed catfish and it was very good, the portions were large. My boyfriend ordered a chicken entrée, and we both ordered pasta. We definitely had to take some home, our waitress recommended so many great things on the menu. I can’t wait to come back here, it’s not too pricey. You get what you pay for, for sure!

Great customer service, friendly staff and yummy food! The wait was 30-35 minutes but it wasn’t too much of a hassle. The crawfish rolls, grilled catfish, baked potato, grilled stuffed catfish, shrimp noodles, red beans and rice, and chargrilled oysters were everything! It’s been awhile since I’ve been to Food & Spirits but this trip was well worth it oh my jeez! The gumbo was ridiculously good!! Highly recommend of course!

I don’t think they take reservations. You get there and they put your name on the list. There is parking in the front and back. Very popular place so it might be hard to find parking. And there will be a wait. The first time we went they said a 45 minute wait but we barely waited 20 minutes Definitely recommend the voodoo crawfish rolls. They are fried to perfection and are super addicting. Also recommend the redfish Pontchartrain.

Drove all the way from Atlanta and this was my first stop, even before the hotel! Had to get my fix of Voo Doo Rolls! Plus the potato salad is literally the best I’ve ever had and always crave it. The to-go beers also took the edge off after a long day in the car! One of my all time favorites!

This place is so legit. Both Carla and Leo took great care of our party of 13 twice! We went on Saturday and Sunday. Lol. The food is so incredible and the portions are gigantic! The customer service is A+ Can you open a location in Houston? PLEASE? I had such a great time here. There is a cool patio and two bars. The bartender in the back who looked like a old trucker (no offense) made a great Mai Thai! Just nothing but good things to say all around about this place. There is enough parking all around the building and across the street. Prices are good especially for the quality food. Hope to see you guys again in a few weeks😍

On 9/24/2022, was I and relatives from out of town, went here for dinner. It was extremely crowded. We waited 1 1/2 hrs to be seated. Our waiter was the best. The food was horrible. The crayfish rolls were made out of some thick dough, it was chewy and no flavor! The spinach and artichoke dip with fried chips were good. Seafood platter, was awful. The shrimps had too much of batter and fried too hard, the fish, has well has the oysters were not good. It was a horrible experience. The grilled oysters w e r e half done. I myself was so embarrassed because I had recommended this place to my friends from out of town. Everything changed, not for the good either. The best thing about that night was the hurricane drink, and our waiter who was very efficient. We laughed and we talked and we enjoyed his company. I had not been there in 2 years because of the covid-19. I will not be returning there again. So embarrassing for me, because I was the one who was bragging on their food. This will never happen again. I don't know if you have new cooks or something's not right. Just saying we waited so long just to be seated, and have our dinner cold, not taste at all. Well, I guess if I want to go there, I will go on the Westbank. It's such a shame. The prices were on the web for one thing, once we received our menus, the prices were higher. Didn't have a problem with that if the food was great. Maybe someone should taste their own cooking. We also ordered 2 Swamp shrimp pasta dishes, it also wasn't good. The sauce for the this dish was too watery.

I enjoyed being in the atmosphere. I ate here my last night in New Orleans. Considering the first night of my stay, the restaurant I ate was horrible this made up for EVERYTHING. The atmosphere was NICE and gave me New Orleans vibes. It was classy but not to “upidy” at the same time. I had a catfish po-boy with fries. It was awesome. I’d definitely revisit if I ever come to New Orleans again.

When we walked in, we noticed that the place was packed. We had to wait for a table -- which took about 20 mins. But the wait was worth it. The appetizers were golden brown and delicious. Then our meals came out and we were not disappointed. The plates were piled high and tasty. We all left with togo boxes. I will definitely be going back when I'm in NOLA.

This is my 2nd trip here in 4 years and I'm glad that we returned. There was an hour wait at 7:30PM but we didn't mind. Our waitress (didn't get her name) was very nice and accomodating. We started with the Voodoo Crawfish rolls and it was delicious. In fact, all of the food came out hot and fresh. The picture is of the Seafood Sampler and it was plenty. My wife ordered the stuffed catfish. The potato salad was good and I'm picky about potato salad.

It was amazing service was amazing even though we got there toward the end of the shift and we were a party of seven no one had an attitude with us the service was impeccable our server was amazing I cannot see enough about him thank you so much for our service the food was top notch my fried chicken salad enough about it I loved it thanks you so much. The place is not big enough to accommodate the amount of people that they service it should be an addition or closed in the outside part and make it bigger they need more waitresses the food was tasty and it was hot that was a plus but that outside part can be used all the time so they need to close half of that in and make that part of the restaurant so they can serve more people so they won't be awake time as long as 35 minutes or more

Service was a Lil shaky as we all felt “rushed. We let the waitress know it was our first time dining there and we felt she should have explained some dishes or perhaps told us about popular dishes etc.. but she didn’t. Our dishes tasted great although we did have to send two of the dishes back to be warmed (we were a table of 3). The fried dish’s temp was fine. Place is very mid. Not sure why it’s always packed… there are way better places to eat. Went for late lunch. The Spinach dip was bland. The soft shell crab po boy was bad… it was very bland. Could tell by looking at the batter before I even tried it that it wasn’t going to have much flavor. I had asked for cheese on it and they put shredded cheese on it? Then the fried catfish Lafayette was ok. The fried catfish was good but the sauce was gross! Pale white sauce with no seasoning in sight…. It’s like the restaurant ran out of any seasoning…. The only really good food we ate was the fried shrimp our friend had…. Big let down….

Literally my and my husbands new favorite place to eat! Service and food was outstanding! I'm not sure we've ever been somewhere we were completely satisfied with in all aspects. We had the Voodoo Crawfish Rolls for an appetizer, my husband had Stuffed Blackened Catfish, and i had Stuffed Eggplant and it was all perfection 👌 We both had the crawfish pontchartrain sauce over our angel hair pasta. 🤤 I wish they had this restaurant where we lived!

The restaurant is always busy so expect a nice wait. I guess that speaks to the popularity. My family enjoyed the food even though the service was a bit lacking with missed drinks refills and incorrect orders. I had a vegetarian pasta and spinach dip. The pasta was really great and the spinach dip was about average. The price is definitely reasonable and I would return again expecting a better experience.

Celebrated my birthday last night, with a party of 12-13 people. When I arrived everyone wasn’t on time so they couldn’t seat us until everyone got there, which was pretty fair. The lady Kept asking when they were arriving so she could seat us, which I didn’t take it offensive at all. She was determined to get us a table❤️. and the waitress we had was very prepared. She was on top of everything. She made sure we all received our food around the same time. She even gave me a free dessert 🍮 🤫😂. I absolutely LOVED the food was well seasoned. I had fish and shrimp platter and crawfish voodoo rolls.It was my first time going for my bday, but I can definitely see me going back on a regular❤️😂! They absolutely get 5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From me! I definitely enjoyed my bday here!❤️

The fried shrimp and catfish platter was cooked to a nice golden brown with a generous portion. The swamp pasta was very good and reasonably priced. We also got a cup of gumbo which could have had a little more flavor. We ate inside and the restaurant was pretty noisy and a little hard to hear each other talk.

Food was ok...place smells like sewage when u walk thru terrace entrance. Crawfish roll appetizer is good. Soft shell crab has no seasoning in the dredge so I didnt really help the soft shell crab. Shrimp Lafayette was a bit flat on the seasoning (salt) side but it was aight. Fried shrimp on shrimp feast were good. They could have kept the stuffed shrimp...it was burned on the outside. Corn soup was pretty good, again it needed salt. Red beans and rice were good. So for almost $70 bucks I really wasnt impressed. Full....but not impressed at all. They were lucky we even stayed and spent our money after being offended by the odor at the door.

Fantastic food . if you like gumbo or bisque you have to try it. Light fried fish and shrimp. Best fried shrimp salad in the greater New Orleans area.The service is not the best but the food makes it worthwhile. Don't forget to go across the Levy and get a view of the Lake at sunset. Delicious! The Crawfish eggrolls are SO good! I got the blackened redfish pasta and it was so good my babies even liked it. My husband always goes with the seafood platter and my son loved the gumbo. We just love New Orleans and all the food that comes with it!

Best gumbo in town alert! This place serves the best seafood gumbo I had ever had in my life. We were mindblown on how flavorful and addicting this gumbo was. Please get the gumbo. Yall are missing out if you don't. Along with the gumbo, we ordered the catfish lafayette and the swamp pasta. To my surprise, they use the exact same sauce. The swamp pasta consists of only shrimp and for the catfish lafayette, you can choose between fried or blackened catfish. We got the fried and loved it. I only took a star off because we ordered all of our food at once, and the poboy took nearly 30 minutes to come out. By the time the poboy came out, we were already done with our meal. Our server was incredibly nice and removed all of the drink charges off of our tab for the delay, but we were still a little upset that it came out so late as we would have loved it along with our meal. The blackened catfish poboy was still amazing though. There is some wait on the weekend so be prepared to wait. They do have a bar and a courtyard with chairs available to sit and wait.

I had the Stuffed Catfish. It was one of the best meals I have ever had. The catfish was perfectly pan seared. The crab cake it was stuffed with had great taste and consistency. The shrimp past was so good. I cannot wait to go back the next time I am in NOLA.

Wow wow wow, what else can I say? Chargrilled oysters that were top 3 in NOLA for about half the price of the other two "famous" restaurants known for this tasty treat. Also had blackened redfish with crawfish sauce and pasta that was perfect. Swing on up to the lakefront and make this your spot.

My favorite restaurant. Very clean & amazing service. Seating inside and out doors with a weather proof wall for comfort. Can't go wrong with nothing on the menu. My favorite appetizers are Voodoo rolls, hush puppies and onion rings. My favorite dish is Hawaiian salmon with steamed veggies. There smoothies are delicious as well.

Amazing employee helping us with the menu and telling us about the local things. We started with voodoo crawfish rolls, and a plate of char-grilled oysters, They were both so amazing, they were the best oysters I've had so far. For my main meal and what's in the photo is the Crawfish Crab cake, it was so good and flavorful. All the food was hot and ready to eat, the food was so very tasty and enjoyable, and one of my favorite meals to date. The Atmosphere was very nice and calming. No one was yelling or was loud and it wasn't too busy.

It was a little bit of a wait to get in but that’s to be expected. We had a party of 6. There were a couple of things they didn’t have like shrimp. I ordered the catfish platter. I can say it’s enough food for 2 maybe 3. I couldn’t even eat half. I expected a little more flavor. The customer service was good a little slow but I’ve learned how to be patient especially when the service is good. 4 ⭐️because of the lack there of. I know it’s beyond their control but I give an honest opinion in these reviews.

I’m actually shocked that I haven’t written any reviews for this place yet, as it’s kind of been a go-to place for my dad and I for a while now. Anytime I come back to New Orleans to visit, you can bet on us coming here at least once during that time. Obviously my dad enjoys this place, it’s hard enough trying to find a great sea food place in this area, and the reviews online don’t really help either. But, I can say for sure that this is one of the best you can find. Even if you want a steak or chicken, you can still come here and eat some really good food. On my latest visit, it was my dad, his girlfriend, my wife and her parents (who were visiting New Orleans for the first time, from Brazil). Normally I get one of the fried baskets, but this time I wanted to be adventurous, lol. After bouncing around the menu some and changing what I wanted several times, I locked in my choice of the Blackened Catfish, stuffed with crab meat, pasta with shrimp sauce. Let me say this, growing up in New Orleans and by a lake in Charlotte, I’ve had my share of fish and catfish. This was THE best I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. I ate every last bite, as I wanted to eat it while it was still fresh and didn’t want to lose any of the flavor from reheating it the next day. Normally, I’d give this place a solid 4 stars, but after experiencing that catfish, I can say for sure they deserve 5 stars now. My wife had the steak and it was cut in-house and was sold as 14 oz, but it looked more to be 16 oz. It was very tasty and would be a great choice for any steak lovers. Her mother had the grilled hickory smoked chicken and it was just as amazing. Being that I know I’ll be back no matter what, the next time I’m in town, I have a lot more to look forward too. I would recommend this place to any local or visitor without a doubt. You’ll be pleased no matter what you order.

Our trip to Nola food and spirits was excellent! One of the best spots in the area. The place was packed so things too a little long, but was worth every min. I had the stuffed fried catfish with the pasta and it was absolutely delightful. The hush puppies appetizer with the butter was simply delicious. 10/10 recommend this local spot.

I had the Crab Ponchatrain and split the hush puppies and spinach/artichoke dip with friends. The dip was amazing. The hush puppies were perfectly seasoned. My rating is based on a comparison between the Covington location and the location in Bucktown. This was my first time here, but I've been to the Covington location several times. The food quality did not measure up to that of the Covington restaurant. The Voodoo Crawfish rolls were dry and had little filling in them. My pecan fish order was on the small side, and the fish was in a pool of grease. My sister's seafood sampler platter was okay, but the texture of her shrimp was as though they were cooked too long. While I may try this location again since this might have been a fluke, the Covington location has always been consistently great.

Quaint little restaurant. Hospitable staff. Went here for our 10 year anniversary with our children. Accommodating and friendly. Food was AMAZING! Literally everything we ordered was delectable. Pinacoladas and sweet teas to drink, tasty. Stuffed eggplant was savory and great portion! Voodoo Crawfish rolls topped any appetizer I’ve ever had. Onion rings were cooked to perfection. Shrimp poboy was STUFFED and yummy. Florentine oysters is a must! The kids fried chicken and fries were wonderfully portioned, I don’t know what’s in their batter but my kids ate it!! Potato salad had my kid wanting more! And finally the cheesecake was devilishly sweet. Our waitress was considerate and friendly to our kids and attentive to our wants/needs. Couldn’t recommend this place more. Thank you for a wonderful time!

We are so lucky that we came to this place. First off the portion sizes are MASSIVE, the food is outstanding and the wait staff are outta this world. Brad was our server and he was positively AMAZING. Brad knew EVERYTHING about New Orleans. He was super friendly and outspoken. Not only did he help us choose super tasty food... BUT! he was practically our unofficial tour guide. He gave us a list of like TWENTY places we had to visit.. which in my opinion was above and beyond. So far, we've been able to check a few places off on Brad's "guide to NOLA list"... and believe me.. they were all ten outta tens. Next time we're in this city we HAVE to go back to New Orleans Food & Spirits!!!

Both of the dishes were simply delightful and it was so much food! One piece of fish with the pasta on the side got me nice and full. The drink I ordered was also good and strong. It was nice. Our waitress was fast and she was o. Point with everything. The food was fresh and the entire experience was great. My wife very constant with complaints, she even talks about her ice not being cold enough "whatever that means" but she was very satisfied with her food and the ice for that matter. The prices for everything was mid range as expected for being on the lake, but not too expensive. I never order steak off of a 95% seafood restaurant menu, but boy my wife did and I was waiting for it. She enjoyed everything. Got there at around 6pm on a Saturday night and it was packed with an hour and twenty minute wait time. The hostess was nice enough to seat us at the bar for immediate seating. If I had cash I would have given her a tip on the way out. I ordered the Voo-Doo Crawfish Rolls, Charbroiled Oysteres and Seafood Gumbeaux which came with a salad, I chose ceasar. If you want good service and great food, this is one of those local spots you must make time to dine in! Each time I have gone I have enjoyed what I have ordered. The atmosphere is casual. You have options to sit inside, at the bar, in the atrium or outside. There is a parking lot and they can accommodate large groups by sitting them in the same area. You might have deal with separate checks because if the separation but it is not a big deal if you go with the flow. You can also place to go orders. Check it out! Depending on the day and time you may have a wait but they usually get you seated as quickly as possible. I will continue to dine there!

This place is always packed but for a good reason. I’ve been here twice and each time I’ve tried all the orders on the table and they’re always fantastic. My two favorite items have been their fried oysters (out of this world) in the seafood sampler and their crawfish corn soup (brings tears to your eyes). I even got to try their delicious bread pudding (I only ate half of my food so I could enjoy it as a midnight snack ;)) and it was hot and incredible. This is one of my favorite places to eat.

When going to the restaurant “New Orleans Food an Spirt” I had an overall great experience. I would give this restaurant a four out of five. The restaurant had amazing service and the waiter was very nice and presentable. The temperature of the restaurant was cold but due to the weather outside being severely hot it was exceptional. I would hope the restaurant can add some more non seafood items to the appetizer menu too. The waiting area is not very good. Gets congested easily. They may move the podium a bit to adjust. Also, the server was not the greatest. The table next to us sat a few minutes after us and they received 2 refills on their drinks before I received a refill on my drink plus my friend never got a refill but was too shy to ask.

For visitors, this place is located near the lakefront area called Bucktown. It’s about a 15 minute drive outside of the French Quarter. You will leave very satisfied. We order pretty much every weekend from there and the place is always packed! So come hungry but pack some patience .

Great atmosphere, service was great, fast and efficient. Had four of eating there, soft shell crab, egg plant, crab cakes, and red fish. All were amazing. Just under $100 for all. Before tip. Will be back to try more when back in town.

This is a spot far out of the French quarter but the quality of the food stands up against any place... the portions are immense and the menu was very authentic. The recommendations by our server were spot on. The corn crawfish chowder was creamy and delightful. The shrimp stew was rich and filling. I loved the raw oysters.. big and fresh just as you expect. Ice cold draft beers and no complaints!

Ordered oysters Florentine, they were good. Ordered ‘swamp pasta’ (shrimp with angel hair pasta), 1st - not fresh shrimp. 2nd - tasted very much like either the shrimp was freezer-burnt or like it had been frozen, thawed, and refrozen multiple times; had the consistency of a mealy apple. 3rd - for $14 most definitely not worth it. A true New Orleans restaurant. My girlfriend and I went Friday after Thanksgiving. I had the blacked redfish with pasta topped with Pontchartrain sauce. That was very good and girlfriend had the the charbroiled oysters those were also very good. For appetizer we had spinach and artichoke dip which was the best we've had.

Everytime we go, there is a wait because it's so busy but it seems to go by quickly. just make friends because it goes by faster, the food is impeccable. Well worth a trip every time and you can not beat the prices and quick service and it doesn't feel rushed! I am a foodie and when someone says it doesn't taste Cajun I think that's hilarious because some cook very heartily and others cook soupy or thick or whatever but it doesn't mean it's not all good or good at all, flavor is where it's at and no one restaurant will have all their food taste good, it's all in how you like it.. here's a good tip: just do appetizers the first time you go to a restaurant so you can sample how they fry, grill, or flavor with sauces and you might get better experiences; buffet style with friends and family (try each other's food) 😁

2/7/19 This is probably my favorite restaurant in town. If you're going to splurge, this is the place to go. I was immediately greeted by the incredible aroma and friendly staff, who was welcoming and unfailingly polite. I was amazed at the speed of service. The ambiance is nice, the food is to die for. My husband took me and my mother-in-law out for lunch today. The food was great, however, waitress Julie S took it upon herself to add gratuity. We always review the charges to make sure they're correct (not over or under charged) and we leave a hefty tip. On the menu, it states 18% will be added to parties of 5 or more. Judy stated 15% is added on weekends and holidays (no signs are posted). After asking for a manager, Julie S. Offered to take the gratuities she added off. Julie S. also added gratuities to the party of 2 sitting next to us. There's no telling how many other people she scammed. My husband spoke with the manager who confirmed gratuities are only added to parties of 5 or more. Please pay attention to your checks before paying as there could be someone skimming.

Went there this past weekend to celebrate my hubby's birthday. It was very crowded and we had a party of 12, so we had a bit of a wait. Fortunately, the weather was nice and we enjoyed the courtyard for a while. Once we were seated, our waitress (I wish I could remember her name) was SO sweet and patient with us and was very attentive the whole time. Everything was EXCELLENT - from the drinks to the appetizers to the main courses. I HIGHLY recommend the Crab Cakes w/the Pasta (YUMMY!). Definitely worth a little wait if you have one!

WOW this place is wonderful! Right on the front of Lake Pontchartrain, you first walk into an embellished courtyard with a large fountain and string lights. Inside they were decorated for the holidays, which also added a nice ambience. It's not formal, yet not overly casual. Our service was polite, attentive, friendly. As for the food: the pecan-crusted trout special was unbelievably decadent and delicious (please put in on the menu full time!!), the boiled shrimp salad light and yet still so flavorful, even their sweet potato fries were crisped to perfection - what an incredible experience. We will be back

This is a tough love statement. We go here all the time but have had to stop ordering the fried shrimp, which used to be our go-to. Over the past year or so, they overcook them to the point of bring dry and chewy. Sad to ruin those delicious shrimp! I hope they read this and fix that! Love everything else there.

I akways enjoy this place, the food is always tasty and cooked well. Ordered for pickup! They told me 30 minutes. I arrive at about 15, go in and pay, proceed to wait outside. I see several orders sitting on the takeout table and go in to see if mine is ready! They say no, and say they will call out my name when it comes out. If you're looking for tasty and plentiful New Orleans food with a home cooked feel then THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! The portion size of the food is good. You will mostly likely need a to go box. There's a half and half lunch special. I usually get a cup of their delicious seafood gumbo and a grilled chicken salad. The salad is half sized but is still a good size with plenty of chicken. Their homemade ranch dressing is really good as well. They also have a full sized bar where they offer a variety of flavorful libations! A relaxed atmosphere and friendly service makes this place a go to for lunch or dinner.

Love this restaurant usually go to the Westbank location but they closed early on Sunday. We drove all the way to Lake Ave location. Food of course was perfect service was soooo dry. Walked in door stood to be seated. Young man passed us 4 times before acknowledging we were there . We were seated by the entrance area with window liked the area. Every single young msn working never cracked a smile as I watched them with every table they were so dry. Some waiters were better my guy never once picked up our empty plates and had to ask for drink refill. Just two of us normally tip better but left him $5.

💯% One of, if not my favorite eating spots! I tried the Shrimp & Corn Soup and it was to live for! I'll be sure to take pictures next time. You can't make a bad choice from the menu. My sister loves there Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri. She always orders one when we go there. The Spinach Salad with Srimps🤩 is another one of my favorites. This was my second visit, first time they were to crowded and real New Orleanians don't like to wait a long time to eat. Second visit we had to wait but just for a table to be cleaned. I am on a 40 day fast with family so my daughter and I only had gumbo without rice. Very good. Celebrating my spouse's birthday so he had a huge martini. Oysters and fish. He didn't bring home a doggie bag, so he was happy. My grandkids said their appetizers and meal was good and they enjoy their surroundings.

The wait was EXTREMELY LONG,but they do have a good system for that. For critiques I usually order a burger, wherever I go, always well done. The burger was completely burnt on the outside,so the char flavor completely overwhelmed my palate. The bread was also way to soft, and was falling apart after the first bite. The fries were good, but the only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is the seafood. It is fresh and delicious, I kinda regret not ordering a fried seafood plate, and the corn crawfish soup is to die for. Gumbo-not so much. All in all I'd probably come here again, for the seafood.

It was our first time here and asked what the server recommended. She basically gave us two of the same exact dish!! Lol one with stuffed fish and one without on the same creamy shrimp pasta. These were big portions and we were getting really sick of the heavy creamy taste. It's like when you go to an Italian restaurant and asked for their recommendation of their two popular dishes and they bring out two giant things of Alfredo but one with chicken in it lol. Hush puppies were okay, kind of dry.

Advice for tourists who have done the French Quarter thing already, spend a weekend dining in the Bucktown/Lakefront area. New Orleans Food and Spirits delivers high quality and consistency in providing a Nola dining experience. Not only great seafood, but they do traditional New Orleans dishes very well. Also they have a board full of specials every day. Only problem is deciding what to get! Great service, casual environment.

Dropped by on a recommendation and they were so right. Everything was excellent. Started off with Voodoo rolls. Next time I want a plate that I don't have to share. So flavorful. Also shared some chargrilled oysters. Also good. I got the Catfish Loozianne with the Crawfish Corn Soup. Holy carp the soup is SO GOOD! I am not normally a soup fan but this creamy one blew me away. The Catfish Loozianne and crawfish stew really worked well on rice. Nice bite on the stew added some great flavor.

I went a little after they open. It was not busy but surely got busy soon after. I had the famous vadoo rolls and the rib eye that came with a side of the shrimp fayette (I think that's what it's called lol). The vadoo rolls was good. I love cheese but it was a little too cheesy for me, the other flavors like the crawfish and whatever else got lost in it. So it tasted like fried cheese in an egg roll. The rib eye was cooked beautifully. It was indeed a very big portion but there is fat on it and the waiter was kind enough to let me know. It was paired with a loaded bake potato instead of the angel hair pasta (I had angel hair pasta the night before)...the shrimp fayette didn't really amaze me so I did not eat it. It's like a shrimp tossed in a lighter concoction similar to an alfredo sauce.

Looking for an unpretentious N'awlins night out where you can have a decent meal, let your guard down a bit and kick back with friends? Try this place. Recently, I dined here for the first time. When I first heard the name of the restaurant, my immediate thought was "another ho hum suburbanite fast food joint (eye roll)." How wrong I was. Located in the Bucktown restaurant corridor and facing the Lake Pontchartrain levee, the first thing you'll notice is that you enter via a side courtyard dominated by a large wrought iron fountain. The second surprise was the the dining room was full on a week night. Upon being seated, our server appeared in a reasonable time, took our drink order and handed everyone their menus. I was in the mood for shrimp and immediately decided for the Popcorn Shrimp salad. In spite of being part of a large dinner party, the food was served within a short time and it was more than a meal. Typically, Popcorn Shrimp are small but these were larger than those served on poboys by other local restaurants. Besides being nicely sized, the portion of shrimp was so generous that the full bowl of salad beneath was impossible to see! Apparently, this is common here as oversized quantities of food were heaped on every plate. Naturally, quantity doesn't necessarily equal quality. Nevertheless, the consensus in our party was one of happy satisfaction. Given that the dining room was full, others diners apparently agree. I'll be back.

Take the extra 15 minutes out of downtown NOLA to eat here. Food was amazing, huge portion sizes, and more affordable than downtown. Pleasantly surprised and super glad our uber driver recommended it.

Very busy spot when I was there. Not enough servers for the amount of people. Not enough room in the restaurant to walk without bumping into people as you're trying to go to the restroom and leave. Food was ok. Not sure that I will go back since I was farther away from town than expected and it wasn't as good as the other food I've had in the area.

My family and I absolutely love this place! There is nothing on the menu that is not wonderful. Voodoo rolls and gumbo are amazing, and you will be amazed at the amount of shrimp on any of their sheimp dishes. Definitely a must try!!!

Same great taste but this location seems to serve less food portion than the other location. The amount was redicously small I usually always leave with a to go bag, at this location you can eat your whole plate in less than a minute. Service was good though.

OMGoodness! The Voo-doo crawfish rolls, hush puppies, and crawfish corn soup... Just made my tastebuds dance. First time there and not my last. It is certainly a spot I will take my family and friends. The atmosphere was noisey busy and I like that. It is a place you can take your entire family. It rained the Sunday I went so I didn't get the chance to sit outside court. It was crowded so parking is scarce but while I waited for the rain to ease up people were leaving as quickly as they were going in. I had salmon with pasta.... Delish!

Just about everything is good here. Voodoo rolls are popular and the stuffed eggplant is very good and filling. Of course you can't go wrong with the chargrilled oysters and fried seafood. Truly a local favorite.

While visiting from out-of-state for Mardi Gras 2020, New Orleans Food and Spirits was recommended to us by a local and it was an excellent suggestion. Located in a neighborhood near some of Louisiana's infamous levees, the decor was nothing to scream about but the food speaks for itself. The restaurant was packed, the service was good, the drinks were great and the food was awesome. If I lived near here, New Orleans Food and Spirits would definitely be a regular place to visit and if I ever go back, I will make it a point to stop by again!

The food was great service not do much. Drinks were watered down. When asked to re do the drink, she rolled her eyes. Then she gave it to the bar tender he tasted it and made another one a little better.

The voodoo rolls saved this place for us. We have had muffelata all over Nola and this was, by far, not the best we've had. The seafood gumbo was mediocre. The Alfredo was super runny, and the shrimp p.o. boy was super dry and bland. Did i mention premade hurricane that they charge 13 bucks a piece for? And they taste super bitter and separated? Wouldn't waste my time with the prices here and sub par food. Just go next door to R & O much better food and service for the money.

The food was filling. The insides a bit cramped so I recommend sitting outside if its warm. The. Outside area is beautiful and serene.The cuisine is mostly if not all seafood though. The servers are nice and willing to serve.

Note that thr 4 star is because 5 is exceptional value for me. The price being a bit high for the product is mostly the loss (really a 9 of ten is more accurate. The food is great. I've been here twice and it's been busy both times. For average price for local seafood and an average-high price for food. I can recomend basically anything Ponchatrain or Looziane.

Great lunch with friends. Onion rings are fantastic. Pecan catfish and garlic potatoes were delish. Chargrilled oysters were a hit with all who partook. Fried shrimp were plump and juicy.

Voodoo rolls are always a good choice. Corn and crawfish bisque was delish! I won't order the catfish Lafayette again. I didn't like the sauce. The fried catfish was good though! Service was great!
