Went there looking for grilled oysters unfortunately they were out of them. Settled for a burger and crawfish mac & cheese. Both were amazing. Sat in the outside patio enjoyed the open air setting. Will definitely be back to get the oysters. And a follow up from our original trip. Wednesday was great, went back there on Friday for the oysters. Totally enjoyed our burger on Wednesday so decided to do it again. We ordered one River bottom burger and one good old-fashioned burger the burger we got on Wednesday covered the bun from edge to edge the ones we got on Friday night barely covered a quarter of the bun we ordered them rare and they were well done. Then after an hour and a half the oysters show up they were great but unfortunately the person who plated them needs to learn how to count we only received 10 supposed to be a dozen and the last time I checked a dozen was 12.🤔 Oh what a difference two days makes!

Came here on the recommendation of a tour guide when we asked about oysters. Sadly they didn't have oysters the day we went, but we wanted to check out a few other items on the menu. We had the gumbo, ostrich chili, and the crawfish mac and cheese. Everything was delicious! The potato salad was a nice change up from rice in the gumbo. The chili was smoky and lightly spicy. I'd highly recommend the mac and cheese - my favourite by far! I like the smaller portion sizes so we could try more individual items, but the prices seem expensive comparatively.

I went on Tuesday evening, staff are friendly, most of people are friendly since my visit 5 days ago!! The oysters ..omg..so fresh, delicious. Simple and yummy, people told me new Orleans oysters are earthy taste, not at all from this restaurant. Honestly, I am very picky with oysters. I had great oysters. Why only 4 stars?!? Because too expensive. LoL. Definitely come back again if I visit this town.

The regular chargrilled oysters and Luciano were good, but hard for me to tell since I haven't others to compared to. The Mac and cheese was ok. The staff was very friendly, and overall, food was decent but not great enough for us to revisit.

Great food and atmosphere. Perfect if you want a bite away from the more tourist trap restaurants but still need something in the French Quarter. The Chicken Fried Alligator, Crawfish Mac n' Cheese, and the Oysters are a good recommendation here. Only quip is you may have to wait a bit longer for service

We came in with no expectations other than filling our bellies. 4 of us, each had the River Bottom Burger. I'm a big fan of a good burger, and pretty picky when it comes to the flavor of the burger itself. So many places cover up a bad burger with a bunch of sauce to mask the poor quality. This burger was on point! Easily in my top three burgers of all time. The burger meat itself was very flavorful, and the additions of each element added to the flavor in a complimentary way. A touch of heat, sweet, salty, and savory. I think I need to come back before the end of this trip to see if we can confirm this as the best I've ever had! Seriously an awesome burger! Staff was great as well, all friendly and welcoming. Thanks for a great experience 🤙🏽

Had the aligator burger with crawfish mac and cheese. Burger was so-so, meat was chewy and hard to swallow at parts. The mac and cheese was OK but nothing special. Had the football game on and the ambiance was pretty decent.

The crawfish mac and cheese is the best I've ever eaten. I can't find any place in Austin that comes close to having crawfish mac and cheese as good as this. We were in New Orleans for 5 days and we ate there 3 times. Everything that we ordered was delicious. I can't wait to go back. Thank you for taking such care in preparing you food. We loved the atmosphere too.

The incredibly nice bartender told us we could use the restroom without buying anything, which is 11/10 service compared to most of the NOLA bars/restaraunts! With that said, everything was great there and I would highly recommend it for all beverage or dinning needs in this area

You would really need to like the bar scene. We went because it was on our GoCity pass list. There is a reason it's on the list. They have only three items that are available with the pass no exceptions. One of the choices was unavailable because the person making it was seriously SLOW which left the fried gator or the over salted burger. Let's say we had to get food after we suffered through the choices.

First time visiting this place because they had what has to be the first crawfish of the season. I’m very impressed! The crawfish was good, the drinks were strong, and they had some yummy seasonal specials. My friend has the grill cheese with tomato sauce and said it was good. We’ll be back!

Wow! This was definitely the best food we had our entire trip. Not a huge menu but what we had was amazing. The staff were as nice as anyone could be, the oysters were great ( and I’d put them above any in NOLA, and yes I’ve been to the so called “ best “ oyster houses here) and the gator sandwich/burger was as well! Found this spot by accident and I’m so glad we did. There’s a short list of places that we do not miss while in town and this place just got added to it!!

A local sent us over for a cocktail and afternoon snack. A bit rustic in style, old school NOLA. Ordered a local draft hazy IPA Jucifer and a strawberry cucumber chiller for cocktails....yum and a dozen oysters. Oysters were fresh and meaty. Great taste, shucked in front of us. I came here because it was a cool looking place with lots of TVs that would be chill enough to watch my Purdue Boilermakers play an NCAA tournament game in the late afternoon in peace. The venue did not disappoint; the game most definitely did. Thankfully, Abita strawberry lager and various liquors took the sting out of probably the most soul-crushing tournament loss I can remember. Some random hippie on Frenchman Street later typed me a special "poem" to sum up the evening: f@#% virginia!

We stopped by this place back in May 2021 during my bday trip to NOLA. This was by far the best place we ate at while there (saw it while we were waiting in line for the French Market restaurant. and decided to go there the next day) My husband is a HUGE raw oyster fanatic and said those were the best oysters he's had, EVER! Bar staff was amazing and friendly.

So happy we stumbled upon this little spot. Some live entertainment nice out on the back court yard. Ordered a small late night meal to share with my husband. Ypu order drinks at the front bar and the kitchen is in the back court yard so ypu order and pay separately, but works great. Staff were friendly and attentive. Ordered the fried alligator sandwich with potato salad and bowl of gumbo.

AMAZING bar, I accidently left my phone and the bartender came and found me to a different bar they recommended. 💗 I literally could not be more greatful. Go here! Great little joint in The Quarter. Typical bar food but go for the daily specials. Izzy was quick and attentive with the bar and the pool players, gently reminding folks to wear masks while walking around, but to set their faces free when food or drinks came to the table. First time I've been Vax carded and I'm here for it! The real gem is that courtyard! Great vibe on a Wednesday night, live music, eclectic crowd, affable and affordable. You can smoke 'em if you got 'em, but you gotta do it outside. But you already knew that.

I'll be honest: we stumbled upon this cool place because I had to find a restroom and it was late at night. (The bathroom is a little strange but hey it was there for me when I needed it most) We had some great drinks, played some board games/puzzles, and enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. This was our kind of place. Quaint, quiet but buzzing, and great food. The macaroni and cheese was amazing. Great house-made chips and salsa. We grabbed go-cup Hurricanes before we departed shortly before last call. Glad we found this spot, it felt like our favorite places back home.

We went twice while in Nola for 5 days for our birthday vacation. The oysters are the best I have ever had. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the drinks are made so well. While we walked right in and found seats right away, be prepared for crowded because they are that good!

Everything about this place is spectacular. The bar has a great beer selection. The seating is nice. Bar is clean. Outside courtyard is beautiful. The kitchen in the courtyard has food that is absolutely amazing. We had crawfish mac and cheese, lemon pepper wings and char grilled oysters. The mac and cheese was epic. The wings were perfect. Crispy on the outside, juicy meaty wings. If you want the best char grilled oysters ever, look no further. My only regret is I ordered half a dozen instead of 2 dozen. They were PERFECT.

Absolutely love this place. I've visited New Orleans twice in the last 3 years from Chicago and this is the spot where my wife and I spent the most of our drinking and hanging out time. The staff is welcoming and my wife and her family loved the fresh oysters provided by Woodies in the back. We treat this place like it's our own private spot. Great times! Can't wait to get back.

So we went 3 days in a row this past weekend. True story. We stopped in Saturday afternoon on the way back from a socially distanced walk in the QTR, and noticed they had crawfish mac, which is one of my favorites. We decided to grab lunch, I got the crawfish mac & it DID NOT disappoint - in fact, it was great! Also had the stuffed jalapenos and they were amazing as well. Service was also excellent! Went back Sunday night to grab dinner and watch the Saints game...food & service was great again. Monday night we knew we wanted something good, we had two great dinners at MRB and we knew they had oysters....so we went back again. Actually had the same server from Saturday, very friendly, and had some amazing chargrilled oysters. We were very happy with the experience and can't wait to get back!

Served ranch instead of sour cream with it and the chicken was eh. Only reason for not giving 5 stars.

What can I say about my favorite bar in the French Quarter? It's got the atmosphere, the bartenders are some of the best in the quarter, and--can you believe it--it's clean!!! Solid place outside of the main madness of the Quarter. Plenty of TVs to watch sports, a nice selection of board games, friendly service and a decent selection of beers (although most are in cans). The food looked pretty good so we'll have to give it a try next time. I'm definitely keeping this place in my pocket for the next time I'm in the area.

My favorite bar in New Orleans by far! A bit off the beaten path from the French quarter but definitely worth the walk. Not only did this bar have some of the best seafood we had our whole time but it was also the most fairly priced. There beer list was just as impressive as there food, one of the largest stocks of craft beer of any of the bars.

Best local joint in NOLA's French quarter. Reasonable drinks too. Plenty of indoor big screens and it's never over crowded (unless it's a saints game). Plus, it boasts TWO courtyards, one with a GIANT movie screen the size of a house. The weekly variety show we host there is easily the best in NOLA.

It is kind of an unusual spot in that they make you order food and drinks separately order food in one spot and then go to the bar and order drinks no wait staff whatsoever I had the crawfish macaroni and cheese and let me tell you it was phenomenal the bartender was cool too I highly recommend. #runonreviewer

If you are in the French Quarter please bypass the tourist trap and head to MRB!! Everything you think you need is here. My first time going was for a crawfish boil and Woodie throws down. I decided from there I would stalk their Instagram only to see they have an amazing selection of food dishes. So last night I went back and the food exceeded my expectations. I had the crab and shrimp egg rolls, butterflied shrimp, and crawfish mac and cheese. Everything was so delicious and the service was phenomenal! Brad is the sweetest and made sure we had a great experience. When I find Ms. Patty, I'm going to give her huge hug because I know she had me in mind when she made that Mac and Cheese. To top it off, we were able to see a free Burlesque and Comedy Show in the courtyard. Now folks, this is all at a dive bar so of course there are beverages to complete this entire experience. Aside from a beer, I also tried their Watermelon and Cucumber Cocktail which is necessary in this NOLA heat. I wrote all of this to say.. go to Woodies MRB, you won't be disappointed. Definitely seemed like a bar for the locals but those are some of my favorites. Service was a tad slow but bartenders were super friendly and it was shift change so I had no complaints. Great spot for some drinks, playing pool and grabbing some grub from the kitchen in the courtyard in the back.

The raw oysters were large, fresh, and fantastic. But we were amazed by the char-grilled oysters. Seasoned to perfection. The place is a dive but the oysters were far better than Acme. The prices were inexpensive too. Great bang for the buck.

With a good drink selection and GREAT oysters (I actually believe their claim that theirs are the best in the Quarter), this was a great place to be stuck during a rain storm... until I realized that it was raining in certain parts of the bar. Have fun using the ATM if it's raining, because it comes with a free shower.

My wife and I visited in April searching for crayfish. We found the best crawfish we have EVER had here. Do not judge this place by its environment. It is not fancy at all. It borderlines home cooking and casual. The dining room is a patio. But that is part of the charm. The owner/chef sat with us and we talked about everything. One of a kind Louisiana experience. MRB is the best local bar in the French Quarter. Their food, cocktails, craft brews, courtyards, and LIVE entertainment are incredible. The servers and bartenders are always friendly and professional. The prices are extremely reasonable and fresh local seafood and New Orleans flavor is always on the menu. If your a sports fan this is the place to watch, with over 16 TV’s and a 30-ft. projection screen you won’t miss a play. Visitors and locals alike have a the best time here. Can’t wait to go back this week!

"Okay" drink prices, love the crawfish boil here. If you've never had them, expect ~20 shrimp-sized bites per pound. It was $8/lb when we visited.

My wife and I were here right after Jazz Fest. Staff was awesome and back courtyard area was a great place for some beers, Po-boy's and mudbugs while watching some MLB on the TV's!! Definetly a must stop when you get tired of the tourist traps!!

My experience with MRB started when I saw a machine spraying bubbles everywhere from the second story of the restaurant and it immediately caught my eye because I'm still a kid at heart and absolutely love bubbles haha! So I go into this place and end up having the best crawfish I've ever had in my life! The cooks at MRB deserve everything good in this world because they were seasoned to perfection and were super spicy just how I like it. I seriously wish I could take their recipe back home with me because I have not been able to find crawfish THIS good in Texas. I loved the staff and they were super fun to talk to while I was there; I would drive 8 hours to New Orleans JUST to eat at MRB again.

This is simply the best bar in the French Quarter. Local fare, generous staff, GREAT prices and plenty of entertainment. Giant Movie screen at night, ping pong, pool tables, darts, cornhole boards, multiple giant Jenga sets, and a host of classic board games on the shelves. I relive the best parts of childhood every time I come here which is as often as possible. Ample TV's provide sports and popular shows for fans of all varieties. Come early to watch the live seafood come in every morning then watch them cook it in one of their two laid back patios, one of which is HAUNTED! A must visit!

Dont come here for proper cajun/creoke food. We had jambalaya and etouffe, both of which tasted good but were more italian than anything else. Service was very basic, barely a smile and the waitress only came back once during the meal. We had to fetch our own water at the "watering spot". Then had to wait for our bill. All that in a mostly empty place. Not a bad experience, but most other places we tried around were better....
