We came here for dinner with a friend from out of town and they have a really good mix of seafood dishes of all kinds along with some traditional creole foods. Their chargrilled oysters are amazing! And I had a ‘fish of the day’ special that was not on the menu but our server told us about that has a really good crab mixture on top. They also have really good meatball subs.

The charbroiled oysters with garlic bread are the BEST!!! The seafood gumbo was also super enjoyable! If you’re a fan of oysters, you definitely need to try this restaurant!

Food was great especially the chargrilled oysters. The service was pretty bad. One guy working the whole dining room. The guys at the bar wouldn't lift a finger to help out. My pasta Orleans was really good my only complaint is the andoullie could have been browned a bit.

We came in on a Friday night about 45 minutes before closing which generally means your waitress isn't going to be friendly and will rush you. Not the case at all. Our waitress (trinetta) was super friendly and on the ball..one of the best waitresses we've had in a while. Everything we got was so delicious...calamari, roast beef po boy, fried shrimp and fish, and crab cake dinner were all so good. Our alcoholic drinks were good as well. If I had to nit pick I'd say the hostess seemed frazzled and not very friendly. the veggies and sauce served with crab cake dinner were barely warm. And the calamari portion was pretty small and the pieces themselves were pretty small. But the good totally outweighed the bad. We will definitely be going back!

This place never disappoints!! Everytime I go to Mr. Ed's I get great service and a delicious meal. That's difficult to do across settings and whoever manages these restaurants deserves an award! I've been to three of Mr. Ed's restaurants and they are all wonderful places. I tried the char-grilled oysters this time and they DO NOT disappoint. I'll see you all again real soon!

This place was amazing we had oysters (of course that's why we came). I had the blackened chicken salad withe creole butter milk dressing.my friend had the roast beef poboy and it's deliciously sloppy! Only reason I'm giving 3 stars because when I asked for separate checks he said it was a automatic gratitude of %20 which I found crazy since it was stated at the beginning of the service nor on the menu ! Other than our server kevin was great and the food was good.

The service was terrible. It took 10 min before we even got a drink. Then the wrong order was brought to the table twice. My Patron margarita was bearable. The food is really good though with sizable portions. We had the crab queso, Creole gumbo, charbroiled oysters, and 1/2 shrimp 1/2 catfish platter with potato salad.

Layton, my server , did an excellent job. He saw that the pieces of fried catfish were small, so he got me another order at no extra cost. Second review. At Last, I can get raw oysters again! Latoya, my server was quick, and met my needs before I had to ask. Great raw oysters and fried fish plate. I am always satisfied here at Mid City location.

The food was excellent. Great tasting Jambalaya, Etoufee and Red beans. We also had a fried platter which was amazing. This restaurant is one of the gems of mid city. The service was great. We did have a long wait time for our food but since we were on holiday we didn’t mind and in the end whatever I ate here was excellent so it was worth it!

Great experience. The half and half charbroiled oysters were amazing! My server was very attentive, the ambience was relaxing. The fried chicken was huge! Those have to be injected with steroids, but let's be honest all chicken is these days. We order the rum punch is was not good, tasted like pure alcohol not tasty. All in all I would go back

wanted to get my first etoufee since coming back to New Orleans. Also the crab cakes here should be more spicy then Maryland style crab cake so will check that out. the place looks like a slightly upscale mid city New Orleans joint. Most of this shopping center wasnt here pre Katrina so that may not be a valid analysis. Anyway after eating the food, I do recommend

Place was cool. Light crowd on a Wednesday. Seated pretty quick. Hostess wouldn't let us sit at a table that's normallt reserved for 5-6 despite light crowd and low demand. We had the chargrilled oysters, Pasta Orleans, and crab cakes. Oysters were prepared well by Lou. May want to ask for him but he only works in the evening. Pasta was ok but chef was a bit heavy handed on salt. It was good tho. Portion is HUGE for the price! Crab cakes were ok too.

I am so unimpressed. First-time eating at this location and definitely the last. So upon walking in the location there were two ladies at the hostess podium . Neither of them bothered to acknowledge our presence. They continued to talk amongst themselves and walked off from podium saying nothing to us. We waited for about 5 minutes are so for someone to finally greet us and then showed us to a seat. Our waitress who I believe is named Patricia was awesome. She was attentive and friendly. We placed orders for starters and they came out fairly quickly. However our entrees took almost 45 minutes. We eventually were told that someone burned a portion of our food and they were giving us gumbo on the house. The manager eventually came over to "apologize" after our waitress had already did so and explained that she didn't like the presentation of the food and had them redo the order. I feel as though that should have been told to us the second she decided to do that and she herself should have been the first to come and explained what was going on. She seemed bothered that she had to say anything to us at all.

It was our first time there and the staff was truly amazing and friendly. Our waitress Ty was super awesome and made our experience the best! The charbroiled oysters were absolutely delicious and we will definitely be going back. The hostess was beyond helpful and made it over to our table to ask us if we needed anything. Raw and charbroiled oysters and shrimp Poboys were very good. Service was good until time to receive our check. Our server decided to chat with patrons at another table. After a full 12 minutes the hostess noticed and said something to her. 10 minutes after that our server finally brought our check. Fortunately my husband went and tipped the oyster shucker. We usually tip at least 20% but only tipped 10% to the server today.

A fantastic selection of oysters, seafood, and other creole cuisine. It's a shame the current shortages have limited some menu options, but everything on offer was utterly delicious. The Taste of New Orleans is a well portioned mixture of Crawfish Etouffee, Red Beans & Rice, and jambalaya. The rock shell oysters were very good. The cocktail selection is limited, but decent.

I went here with a few coworkers, we all oder different thing but what standing out the most are the 6 over 6 oysters and the noodles, also their bloody Mary are pretty good too. The staff are very friendly and helpful, we asked one of the staff where to go and she not only give us a few guide but also help us book a Uber driver.

I had a really great experience at Mr Ed's Oyster Bar! The woman at the entrance who was receiving the arriving guests seemed to hate her job and really didn't want to talk to anyone, so my first impression was pretty negative... But once I sat at my table everything changed! The waiter was extremely motivated and attentive, he was so overly motivated that the contrast to the woman at the entrance was almost funny. I ordered a plate of oysters and a seafood gumbo, which were both absolutely amazing. This was my first time trying gumbo and honestly my expectations weren't very high, but after the first spoon of it i loved it.

Wife and I have tried charbroiled oysters in 2 of the best Restaurants that serve them and Mr Eds is the best. Lots of butter and flavor. Adding some olive oíl might better it. Service was ver good

My "GoTo" spot for charbroiled oysters. Metarie is my favorite location. Some people think Dragos is the place to go for charbroiled oysters. If you think that, I challenge you to have some at Mr. Ed's!

The Oysters Rockefeller where out of this world amazing. Erin was our bartender she was super nice and helpful. We also ordered the stuffed peppers lunch special. They were amazing. We really enjoyed our visit to Mr. Ed's and will be back.

My fiancee and I had dinner at Mr. Ed's. First of all when we walked in we felt so comfortable. The restaurant had a very welcoming atmosphere. The hostess was very courteous and our waitress Jen was very attentive. We had the crawfish spinach and artichoke dip, and chargrilled oysters to begin with. He had the chargrilled red fish with crawfish ettoufee over rice, I had chargrilled red fish with roasted potatoes with zucchini and squash vegetables. The food was serve very hot and in a very timely manner. My fiancee and I enjoyed it to the fullest and we will be returning very soon.

We came here last minute and have 0 regrets. The food was amazing, our server Diana was sweet and the manager was also very nice. It seems like everyone here is super friendly including the bartender that brought our drink. We paid $18 for 2 dozen oysters!!!!!! Thursday’s they have 75 cent oysters!! We will definitely be back!

The best Turtle Soup I've had in years. Thick, rich roux, plenty of meat, nice pieces of eggs, perfectly seasoned. Rich & filling. A bowl is a filling meal for me. The daily special was stuffed peppers which arrived as 2 large half's filled with a mixture of beef & shrimp accompanied by mashed & vegetables. Delicious. The oyster PoBoys was easily a foot long, overflowing with oysters and they asked for your preference: cooked soft, medium or hard. We all enjoyed our relaxing and delicious mid afternoon feast.

Once again this place was great. Chicken caesar salad was perfect. Chargrilled oysters were the best my daughter has ever had anywhere. Seafood nachos were so good. Drinks were on point. 5 people and this was enough food for all of us. Waiter was great.

I love Mr. Ed's (I prefer the one on live oak but,Carrollton is buy my house and the manager Eddie is a great guy and more than adequate for a small store like this one. Anyway I'm a bartender, server,x-mgr ,etc.. so I have to let you know that 1(food) we got our entrees before our appetizer , besides that food itself was delicious as always, Now (service) our server was sweet, fairly knowledgeable about the food no idea what a margarita is made of, but very nice girl. . she only came back to check on us when I asked another server to find her so we could pay. oh we spilled a drink, it was late, I guess she was in the back doing side work because I wiped up the spill after we got some napkins. usually I'd give this restaurant 5* but tonight was a 3 . the bill was correct we left her a 20% tip because we are servers and would have left more but I understand. we got there 45 minutes before close so she might have been doing closing side work but still it would have been nice to eat our appetizer before our meal but everything from the kitchen was wonderful. I also asked for an extra shot of grand marnier I never got but it was late so we just wanted to pay and go which took 10mins to find our server in a restaurant the size of my 1bedroom apt. Eddie was polite and we enjoyed our meal. and the appetizer will be a good snack later. I will be back when oysters are back in season and have some flavor ( I know you have no control over the oysters and Eddie did let me try one to see and he was smart because if I would have ordered my usual 2dozen I eat almost everytime I go to this Ed's. I would have sent them back because they were bland ,milky,etc.. my point is Eddie saved 2dozen oysters from being comped. that's why he's one of the good guys still around from the good ole days.

We stopped in for just a drink. We did not eat but the plates we saw were of huge portions. The service was fast and friendly. I don't know if I was too impressed with the cleanliness. Right on the trolley line and there is a parking lot so easy to get to for lunch or dinner. I might try this again for their seafood as they had some interesting specials.

Excellent establishment with a cozy atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and welcome to us. Made great recommendations on the menu and certainly didn't regret our choices. Pricey but then again all seafood is. They were even dealing with a rude old Karen complaining about everything and raising her voice. Patience of saints.

Last week we stopped here after walking Bourbon Street on the way to Disney. Glo & Trinetta made us feel so welcomed and catered to us like we were family. I cannot stop thinking about their customer service and how kind hearted they are. The food was phenomenal! We had the rockefeller oysters, seafood platter and my daughter had the spaghetti. My hubby hates spaghetti but he could not stop talking about how good my daughters food tasted. I will definitely be back to visit girls and get me some oysters!

Went for lunch, not to crowded for a Friday. The atmosphere and staff were great. The food was good, we had calamari, raw oysters and gumbo. We will be going back for another lunch date.

Seafood gumbo was surprisingly good, great oyster selection, and nice environment. Service could use some work: our server was very nice but we had to ask for things multiple times. However, I'd rather deal with that than the uber-rude waitress who served the table next to ours (older lady, short hair). She snapped at customers who were putting tables together (with hostess permission) - not blocking an aisle or anything, then she snapped at the hostess, then later when I was walking through the dining room she was complaining about other servers not pulling their weight. Ugh! Way to ruin a perfectly lovely dining experience.

Nice dining room and bar. Courteous staff. Oysters $13.95 dz raw. Prices in general $$$. Got take out Shrimp Po-Boy. Served on Sesame French and cooked to dark. Sauces on the side was nice. Jambalaya side @$3.95 for a small bowl had 2 pieces of chicken but tasted good. Draft beer @ $5 a little high. I would try it 1 more time.

THE FOOD HERE IS AMAZING! Our server Bruce was really friendly and fast! The craw crab queso is DELICIOUS! Oysters were great! Fried shrimp wad great! And the fried chicken was amazing with light flakey skin! The prices were also better then the surrounding restaurants! Eat here if you are in town! The food & service were okay. I went for a half-dozen charbroiled oysters which were good, a lot more dried rosemary than I expected though. I prefer mine to have lots of garlic & cheese, but it was difficult to taste those flavors with the amount of rosemary they used. The bread they serve on the side was pretty gross, or at least not my preference. I like toast to be browned and crunchy on the outside, but the inside still soft and fluffy--these slices were evenly dry and white so they came off more as stale than toasted. My partner ordered the catfish platter with fries. The fish wasn't overcooked which was good, but they also weren't crispy at all and were under salted. My partner was surprised that they needed to use the salt shakers at the table, we both noted that it had been ages since we've actually salted our own food at restaurants, usually the kitchen is a good judge (also you always want to salt food as soon as it comes out of a deep fryer, not afterwards). We may go back, but only for the basics, raw oysters and only if Bevy's across the street has already sold out.

I was very impressed with the raw oysters. They were served over ice with really good house-made cocktail sauce. The portion of fried shrimp and catfish I got for my meal was very generous. Very friendly service.

Server was very nice, but the oysters had a strange smell to them. The fried oysters in the oyster salad had a very fishy taste. Couldn't fully enjoy ourselves, but will probably be back for a second chance :)

I loved my experience at Mr. Ed's. I went alone for just a dozen raw oysters and a drink during their happy hours which is when they have 75¢ raw oysters and $5 margaritas. Can't beat that, plus the bartender that served me what extremely nice and a blast to kick back with. If you are ever courageous enough, ask for a bloody Mary shot, put a raw oyster in it, then shoot it. Not gonna lie, I was nervous at first but it tasted really good.

The red beans were great. The oysters were very dirty though and there was absolutely nothing special about their "World Famous" fried chicken. If you want good fried chicken, don't even consider this place. Sweet things or McHardys is a much better deal with much better flavor.

Why didn't nobody tell me about crawfish bread. It taste like HEAVEN!! My friend and I ended up here after leaving a restaurant with a 3hr wait. Mr. Ed's had about a 20 minute wait which was much better. We opted for the patio since the weather was so nice. My friend ordered the crawfirsh bread for me since I had never had it before and it did not disappoint. I really wanted some good food representative of New Orleans so clearly I ordered "The Taste of New Orleans." Some of my food was cold, but they brought me some more out without a problem. The portions were really hearty and I certainly left fool. I like the place and would visit again.

I like the cabbage plate. They forgot my cornbread AGAIN but it still tasted good. The fried pork chop is mediocre but that's ok too. I wish they would fry it in flour versus bread crumbs.

I have visited variations of Mr Eds in the 'burbs and now here (Midcity). The fried chicken is pretty amazing -- crunchy and flavored. Pretty surprising. The gumbo is excellent. The seafood (catfish and shrimp) is good. The seafood platter is under $20 so its good but the portion is okay. The chargrilled oysters are fairly priced and on point -- pretty dope. Service? We have been there 3 times now and still have not made it past all of the awesome oysters. Between my wife, son and myself 8 dozen oysters...yummmmmmm. almost forgot we did take an order of crawfish etofee to go and finished that for breakfast . Our waiter, Bruce, kept us well provisioned, and smiling. I don't think you can go wrong. Coming from Dallas we are always looking for good fresh seafood, and the oysters sure land in the right place.

Quite disappointing never knew you can order a 50% shade of burnt. I know my shades,..... I am a Caribbean American. That sead. ..... Char-boiled Oysters! Did I mention the char-boiled oysters? In my opinion they are the best in town! This is one of many locations that Mr Ed owns. Each menu changes but the Crawfish nachos are to die for! White beans and cat fish is another one of my faves. Get over there and try it out for yourself. This is my top recommendation for all my tourist friends in town and highly referred to the locals

Lunch with a friend was delicious in a pleasant atmosphere with prompt service. My charbroiled oysters to start were bubbling when served with crusty French bread and delicious. My friend’s crab cakes were also served piping hot with crusty breading outside and full of crabmeat within. Going happily overboard, I ordered the fried oyster Poboys and my friend had the fried shrimp Poboys. We both brought half home because of the generous size of this classic New Orleans sandwich. Eat here. You won’t be disappointed.

I ordered the shrimp dinner even though it was lunch time because due to being the Mardi Gras season, they did away with their lunch menu's for the week. I was a little disappointed with the prices because of this reason, I got 12 shrimp with tails and fries for $18.99 for lunch. The shrimp were fried well and good, but the fries could use some salt and it was a little too pricey for what I got. My husband ordered a cheeseburger which was $12 and it did not come with fries, those were extra. I understand upping the prices for events, but this was a little much. He said his burger was ok, but it was lacking in flavor as did the fries he ordered for $5. Even though we were here for the Mardi Gras celebration, we do visit this city a lot because we have family here and sadly due to the price gouging we probably won't return.

On the City Park streetcar route, this is a most stop place. Friendly, cozy and the most delicious fish, w/mushroom topping. I had the Fried Shrimp w/jambalaya, "had to share" my honeys' Fish dinner. "Trout" which I rarely eat but really enjoyed...sooo good! Highly recommend to anyone that ask "Where would you go on the Carrolton Streetcar route?"
