Reviews of Meals From the Heart Cafe

Went twice while in NOLA and enjoyed each meal. The spicy vegan sausage was amazing as well as the vegan crab cakes. I thoroughly enjoyed the vegan blueberry pancakes. The customer was also great. Will visit again when in town.

On the hunt for this one! Found it in the Shops of the Colonnade (French Market) immediately to the right. Almost missed this greatness because of a large order, but was saved by the lovely hostess. I forgot her name, but she was amazing. Huge smile.
I specifically came to Louisiana to try THIS vegan gumbo. Boyyyyyyy, they nailed it. Not to mention the Vegan Crab Cakes 😵💫😩😳🤤 so so so so good. I told everyone about this place while there, and had quite a few people stop by for all this goodness.
I wanted to order so much more, but this is plenty.
While waiting I ordered red beans and rice next door.
Food was served fresh and I left nothing on my plate.
Make this your number 1 stop rather you eat meat or not. I promise you, this gumbo will change your life!
Allison Ambili Kumar
Amazing, amazing food for those who are vegan AND for those who enjoy meat. I got the vegan gumbo and vegan crab cake po boy - both were extremely delicious!! My non-veg friend loved their crab cake. When in NOLA, you must visit…and one visit to Meals From the Heart Cafe likely won’t be enough!

My husband and I have Celiac Disease and we’re pescatarians. We visited the French Market, which has great gluten-free options throughout, every day for breakfast and lunch and ate at Meals from the Heart daily. I am so glad we found out about this place through online research before our trip. The staff is very friendly and informed about gluten allergies and specifically preparing food safe for Celiac, and their menu has food items and cuisine we never usually get to enjoy due to our Celiac Disease. What a treat and we really appreciate the extra effort this business puts into a delicious menu that is safe for so many people. It means a lot to us, we typically can’t eat the local cuisine on trips. We enjoyed many meals here but some favorites were the Shrimp Po Boy, the red beans and rice, the veggie gumbo, the crab cake, and the breakfast special with vegan sausage. We can’t wait to return on our next trip to New Orleans and eat here again.

5 Star Vegan Place!
The vegan food options are diverse and delicious! The location is perfect as well for anyone wondering around and needing food near sites!
I got the vegan crab cake po boy and it was loaded!
Pros: Lots of vegan options , Great sides
Kristina Parsons
This place is amazing! I'm not a vegan but I don't eat Pork or and bottom feeders. I've always wanted to try Gumbo but was never able to locate a place in NOLA that served it the way I could eat it. I'm so happy I found this spot! Great service and amazing food!
Smash Kandy
Wonderful restaurant in the French Market. Wonderful staff is very conscientious about food preparation and customer needs. Excellent gluten-free and vegan choices. Good portion sizes. The food is fantastic and so delicious . Healthy is a bonus. So glad we found this treasure.
Ryan Batson
Quality was pretty good for the vegan meal my partner and I had. Portion sizes for the price however didn't feel like the best bang for our buck. We liked the gumbo more than the vegan hot sausage sandwich. This place also offers vegan beignets so there's that!
Angel Harmon
Meals From the Heart Cafe pairs the fun atmosphere of the French Market with fantastic food! The gluten free crab cake is a personal favorite. You'll find extensive options for those who are gluten free or vegan, as well as those who aren't. Breakfast & lunch are offered and I can guarantee you will be satisfied. This is one spot we never miss when visiting the French Quarter.
Karen Frazier
Amazing food, great service! The gluten free crab cakes are a must! I am not vegan, but can't eat eggs or dairy, so the vegan scramble with vegan cheese and vegan remoulade was a great choice. Had breakfast there everyday of my stay in New Orleans!😃 …
Nikko Chirco
I love that there's vegan food, but it's missing the flavor. Visually the food was amazing, but it's missing the New Orleans punch. The vegan beignets were the best but too expensive for just 3 of them. The Gumbo was bland and the crab cakes were bland too. They were edible and looked good but that's all i can say about it. I had a better time feeding the food to the nearby pigeons.
Ben Loomis
Meals From the Heart Cafe made a great lunch of vegan gumbo (I'll request to hold the mushrooms to suit my preference next time) and vegan "crab" cake tacos with carrot ginger juice.
I was told that the "crab" cakes are made with artichokes and garbanzo beans, then pan fried.
The ingredients were clearly fresh and good quality.
Dalya Shingiti
We got the impossible philly with mushrooms poboy, the chicken poboy and crab cake tacos.
Pros: Great portions, Great poboys
Cons: Seating, Waiting time, Crab cake tasted like falafel
Evie Tripolitis
Beyond Tacos and fresh Arnold Palmer were GREAT! Service couldn’t have been more friendly. I am gluten free and vegan~ The hot vegan sausage, made in house, was delicious too
My friend got the chicken poboy and loved it!
Madelynn McIver
I've been vegan for about 8 years and this was some of the best vegan food I've ever had! I got the vegan gumbo and the vegan tacos. Food probably took 20 minutes or less and the portions were pretty big! The tacos were especially fantastic. Very fresh and flavorful
Donna Ratchford
I ordered the vegan crab cake po’ boy with potatoes. It was delicious! Well seasoned hot and fresh. Would definitely go back!
ashana Janei
Best vegan breakfast in New Orleans! Plenty of options for meat lovers, vegetarians and vegans. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Great prices and fresh food. Highly recommend this restaurant.
samuel dean
Go go go. All the food vendors here are amazing but this spot sticks out. The food tasted fresh and full of flavor. Take your sandwich to go and enjoy the other stalls.
Connie B
The food was fresh and delicious and the customer service was top notch! I will definitely be coming back next time I’m in New Orleans! Plenty of vegan options, as well as traditional meals!
Crystal Aeppli
Sooooooo delicious! Just happy we could find a vegan friendly place to eat at the French Market! Service is great and served FRESH!
Stephen Kozak
What a hidden gem! The original crab cakes are some of the best I've had - rich and moist. The vegan options are incredible as well. Great choice for a group with some vegetarians or vegans and some who would enjoy great seafood options. The food tastes fresh and real. It's decadent yet still feels healthy, made with love. Thanks for a great experience!
Joshua Sciascia
As soon as i got to the front, John asked “Is there an Allergy to consider for your order?”. Anyone who has dealt with celiac will agree, this is a powerful statement!
I had the GF Crab Cake platter. Extremely delicious.
Charis Edwards
We were so excited to find vegan beignets here as well as delicious vegan gumbo and vegan hot sausage Po Boys! I recommend getting the grilled potatoes on the side and some of the sweet tea or lemonade. The service was very friendly and the menu is long! There aren't designated tables for the restaurant but there were a few general tables available in the market when we went on a Friday morning. Plus, not surprising in the French Quarter, there was lovely live music happening around the tables, providing an excellent atmosphere. Well definitely visit again the next time we are in NOLA :)
Sarah Rosenblatt
I was SO happy to find vegan gumbo and a vegan hot sausage po'boy! I was worried I wouldn't be able to get the full flavor of New Orleans as a vegetarian, but luckily Meals from the Heart Café has a great menu. Their setting in the French Market was perfect - friends in my group were able to get food from other vendors, we browsed shops while we waited for the food, and the people behind the counter were SO nice - true southern hospitality.
Quinn Colon
Good restaurant. Has 2 menus- one normal and one vegan! their vegan menu is extensive, and the food is good. yum! Pictures is the vegan krab cake poboy with grilled potatoes. :^)
Timothée Loisel
One of the best vegan places of New Orleans, by far. It doesn’t seem like at first glance but it is defintely a gem!
The sandwichs are tasty, well cooked and beautifully executed. Flavors are absolutely on point! And once you’re finished, you’re set for a whole afternoon of walks and visits: you won’t get hungry after that!
Staff is welcoming and professionnal!
Their name is not just for display: it is a heartful experience!
Kimberly Derrick
This place made my trip when I saw they had vegan beignets! And those beignets were so tasty, delicious and light. My NOLA experience is now complete, thank you!!
Alyssa Abbott
One of the very few places in the area offers gluten free (plus vegan) southern food. Even though it's a little on the pricey side, it is worth it to be able to feel normal and try regional dishes without the concern of getting sick. Had the GF crab cake PoBoy. It can be a little challenging to find as it is in the French District "farmers" market.
Kaitlyn Mooney
Delicious food and great GF options! They offer gluten-free po’ boys and they were so yummy. So grateful to the owners for offering these GF options! Definitely stop by!
Bryan Cummings
If you are vegan, Meals From the Heart Cafe should be at the top of your list for places to visit while in the French Quarter in New Orleans. The quality and flavor of the meals we enjoyed here far exceeded other vegan restaurants we tried in New Orleans. The employees (Alana and Masaleh) were friendly and professional. We received our order in less than the 15-20 minutes promised. The meals where hot, fresh, and delicious.
Raman Sawhney
Very fresh and tasty food, tried ice tea and crab tacos
These are made fresh from scratch a must visit when visiting farmers market .
Roberta Welch
Was slightly a challenge to find - we must have walked past it twice, maybe thrice- but once we located this food stall, I knew right away I found a place that would make my frequent fliers club. There were SOOO many vegan options - I wanted them all, but settled with NO disappointment on the “sausage” po boy. For this vegan, po boys tend to be of the fried green tomato variety, dry because restaurants don’t offer a vegan remoulade, but when our friend from behind the counter brought my my MASSIVE sandwich, he provided not one- but two sides of their homemade VEGAN remoulade. So. Delicious. So VERY delicious. It made my heart happy!! Highly recommend- I couldn’t speak for the seafood gumbo or pancakes and eggs or crab cakes that my friends chowed on, but the look of sheer content on their faces is evidence enough that we had found our spot of many returns.
Fernando Flores
It's a vegan oasis in the middle of a city with few vegan options. Every dish captures the cajun flavors so well and even the vegan beignets were great!
Vegan crab cakes were my favorite, second to the vegan gumbo.
Keep in mind that food is made fresh and it takes about 20 minutes to be ready.
Also, this restaurant is located inside the french market and seating is very limited in this area.
Blakely Moore
Such a good meal! We only had breakfast, but I can't wait to go back and try their lunch foods. It was definitely worth the wait. Tons of gluten free options too.
Jennifer Bennett
Fantastic! My husband and I got the vegan crabcake tacos and the vegan spicy sausage poboy and both were absolutely delicious. Great flavor, good portion size, and nice fresh veggies. The vegan beignets were amazing, crisp on the outside and the inside melts in your mouth. Food took about 25 minutes, totally reasonable especially considering the small space they have to work with. Really happy we found this place and will definitely be coming back next time we're in town!
Le Flann
Been eating here for YEARSSSS and after this last time they got me again. I was looking forward to my vegan apple sausage patties when I touched down in Nola but bayyybeehhh they got something even better!! The hot sausage sandwich has changed a few lives this week honey. My friend said it’s exactly like the original kind so that’s cool. I have tried everything and I love it all. I eat here first thing every time I visit.
Tina Moore
Picked this based on GF reviews and was beyond pleased with the food. They even have GF Crab Cake Benedict that is served with avocado toast, AMAZING. The shrimp and grits were delish and loaded with shrimp. The power smoothie was tasty and nutritious. Do note this is within the market area and only has outdoor eating that is shared among other establishments.
Hina'ea Kuan
50/50 - Cashier was barely polite, but you know some people are having bad days, so fine. And that said, she was helpful in letting us know that an item was NOT gluten free in case we hadn't realized that, which was nice. The food tho... the beyond burger poboy was good, but the vegan gumbo was super miniature- and the rice was all mixed in - not at all how it was presented on the picture. It was really thin, not very flavorful, and certainly did not make a meal. Do NOT recommend that. The vegan beignets were decent. All in all would not go there again myself, but might be worth it for sandwich & beignets if you're in the area.
Samuel Krausman
The food here was great! We ate three days in a row and I'd go back again if we were still I town. The crab tacos are huge and delicious. I definitely recommend this spot.
Jaclyn Clegg
Vegan options! This is so wonderful for those who have an allergy or a food restriction like myself. Vegan pancakes are great so is the smoothie bowl, beignets, and apple pie. We would definitely come back!
Alicia Yasuhara
Great vegan food in the French Market! Meals From The Heart has an entire vegan menu separate from the main menu, serving up vegan versions of classics like gumbo, red beans and rice, various po’boys beignets and even breakfast food. We tried the vegan hot sausage po’boy and the vegan okra gumbo. Both were ample sized portions and extremely tasty. This place won’t disappoint, give it a try!
Jackie Watson
Great grab and go to satisfy various tastes from healthy fruity to sweet toothy to a nice delicuous sandwich. We were so pleased that they had a DEDICATED GLUTEN FREE FRYER and were very strict about cross contamination.
Zoe R
They gave us a 30 minute wait and it was actually more than an hour. Staff seems really confused and I can see them messing up people's orders. Vegan beinges and crabcakes are delicious though.
Robert S
First meal in New Orleans was from Meals From the Heart Cafe. What a wonderful start, ordered a Gluten Free crabcake poboy. When your GF the sandwich is prepared on toasted Udis bread. I really enjoyed the meal and definitely would order again.
Ashley M. L. Gibson (ashleymlgibson.com)
The crab cakes were delicious but we weren't fond of the hard tortillas for the crab tacos. We also ordered the carrot juice, which seemed watered-down.
TMGWARDINATER
The food exceeded expectations, and the expectations were already high. My wife and I had been on a 6000 mile road trip spanning more than 10 states, and I can confidently say that this is the best food we had.
Jp Russek
Within the French Market where there are lots of food options, this one has a full on proper and delicious vegan separate menu. Not exactly a common thing in these parts but search them out. Loved it so much I ordered a second time
Jenni Atkinson
Excellent po-boys! I ordered the gluten free crab cake po-boy. It's served on regular GF sandwich bread instead of french bread like a traditional po-boy, but still so, so delicious! I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town.
C P
Great spot inside the French market, if you are a vegan this place is a must visit! Highly recommend the crab cakes and beignets, they were amazing
Miss April Nola (Nuttie Foodie)
Meals From the Heart has a great mission to serve familiar Southern favorites in a healthy wholesome way. It's a family owned restaurant where grandma's recipes are sure to please! Everything is homemade and made to order in the small on-site kitchen. Their specialties are crabcakes and plant-based meals with plenty of vegan and gluten-free options.
In addition to everything being so fresh and healthy - and homemade, we really appreciated that Meals From the Heart was able to accommodate everyone's dietary preferences and restrictions.
One had the vegan gumbo prepared gluten-free. Two split the crab cake po' boy because the portions are so generous. I had the crab cake tacos - also enough for two, but it was so good I devoured it all myself!
We highly recommend Meals From the Heart! Locals and tourists will both enjoy! #NuttieFoodie #EatMoreCrab

Delicious vegan gumbo, portion could be bigger. Still, definitely recommend if you're looking for vegan food in the French Quarter.
Teneha B
They ask about food allergies; where else in the world does that happen??? They're patient and take the time to attend to you while you decide what you're ordering. Seated in the heart of the French Market, this place needs a TRUE STOREFRONT... I'd be there weekly. They have pressed juice. Pricing is great. The food is made fresh and in-front your face (actually just behind a door) but you're able to see the cooks and there's nothing sketchy going on.
Converting to a non-meat eating & non-dairy eater is challenging and this place and a few others make it all the easier. My only regret is that: I ATE IT ALL in ONE SETTING; it was soooooo delicious that I shamefully ate it all. I wanted to save some for later, but it was just too good and I didn't have a full feeling, although I know you shouldn't eat until FULL, but hey I did it anyway... so I continued to eat until it was gone.
The staff was patient and kind. I knew a few of them were in training, but the trainer was patient and pointed out obvious errors in a loving manner.
My food was prepared to my likening and in a swift, but in a knowingly FRESHLY PREPARED way. Additionally, once i devoured all the food on my plate, I didn't have a full, stuffed, can't move feeling. I was refreshed and still felt light and fluffy, which made walking back to my car all the easier.
Parking wasn't easy, but it was worth it!!!!!!
Jerica George
A great place located within the French Market. It's a bit on the expensive side but very tasty! They have vegan and gluten free options. I ordered the crab cake tacos and you get two very large tacos with your order. Overall, a nice place
Kristin Marlowe
With aarhs family group, we stopped into the market so everyone could have food options of their choice. I had a crab cake taco!! Highly recommend. Delicious! My friend has sensitive diet concerns and they were accomading to her needs. They also have beyond meat burgers and other vegan options. Also award winning packcakes from travel and leisure magazine.
Kibble White
We had the Crab cake Taco, it was amazing!
There is a waiting time for the food but they let you know and you can receive a text message (provide your cell/mobile number during payment) so you know when to collect your food. Which was perfect as we walked around the market for a few minutes.
Service was great and they were sure to check in with us during the less busy times! Highly recommended 🤩
María Antonieta Jordan
Love, love, love this place in the French Market in New Orleans.
Their mission is to offer and to prepare foods that are lower in sodium, refined sugars, no trans-fats, and non GMO's 💞
Their crab cakes and crab cake tacos are highly recommend.

So glad to find a true vegan restaurant. All fresh ingredients made into delicious dish's.
Amy
Delicious!!! Highly recommend the hot "sausage" po boy and okra gumbo!! So much flavor.
Frank Ditore
Really enjoyed our breakfast here. This is a stall restaurant in the French Market. Tough to find if you are looking for an actual storefront like we did. Host is wonderful. We gobbled up our food before taking photos. Had the pancakes which are vegan but delish. Also had the crawfish cakes and poached eggs. Wonderful.
Kimberly Awesome
Great vegan stop in the French Market! Friendly service. Vegan crabcake taco was delish! Super fresh!
Shan Non
I went here back in 2019 pre pandemic, then came back in Oct and was so happy to see they were still around! The food was just as good as I remembered and their staff are so nice and helpful. Definitely recommend going here.
T L
Exceeded my expectations. There's a bit of a wait to receive your food, but it's completely worth it. I had the gluten free pancakes, vegan eggs with cheese and vegan crabcake. Everything was beyond scrumptious.
Clifford King
Great little option in the French market. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Took about 15-20 minutes. A bit slow but friendly. Would recommend though it seemed to have less people than lots nearby.
Haresh Desai
Got the vegan okra gumbo and the vegan po boy. Both were amazing and tasty especially for non meat eaters.
Ryan Schmidt
This place has great vegan options, an entire menu. It even has vegan beignets!
Victoria Acuña
Always great to find vegan options in touristy places. Had a black bean po boy and partner ordered the mushroom philly and added a chopped up beyond burger patty. We both had salad for sides and we were filled up and ready to sight see afterwards. Everything was tasty, fresh, and made to order. No complaints!
Vic Z
Great menu selection of healthy choices for breakfast and lunch. I had the crab cake tacos and all of the ingredients were super fresh and flavorful. All meals are made to order so the wait is atleast 15 minutes, but definitely worth the wait and price. A 12 oz cold-pressed carrot juice and my tacos was $24. I would highly recommend
Ki P
My goodness! The food is delicious & the hospitality is amazing. This is our first meal here, but we know we’ll be back before we leave NOLA!! You’re missing out if you don’t stop here. #blackowned
FOUR MUSICK
Great customer service, food was fresh and my vegan power smoothie was such a PERFECT "pick-me-up". I also ordered the vegan gumbo- I'll just say if you love OKRA it's for you lol. I was happy to support a fellow black owned business and encourage others looking for great vegan options to do the same!
Marcus Milton
OMG!!! This place rates amazing from Smile to service and delivery. We found this gem online after refusing to take another bite in the grease pits of the French Quarter. A short Uber ride away was this Oasis!! We will ne back for sure. The food and service are world class, and I've eaten all over the world!!
Anna A
I can't recommend this place enough. Located in the French market, this vegan stall blew my mind.
I had the crab tacos and oh boy. Amazing portions, tasty and delicious and worth the visit. The staff were great and will recommend what's best on the day.
A staple for me everytime I go to NOLA.
M Israel
Meals From The Heart Cafe is a good restaurant. Our favorites were the vegan okra gumbo, vegan sausage sandwich, and pancakes. James was EXCELLENT and treated us very well. We would definitely go back for the customer service alone.
Mo Henigman
Amazing vegan sausage sandwiches and delicious vegan "crab" cake! If you like spicy, the vegan hot sausage philly is for you. The service was very fast and friendly, too. I wished that my trip to NOLA was longer so I could have gone back again :)
Shapell
Excellent customer service and delicious vegan gumbo. The side of bread was my fave ☺️
Courtney Mirenzi
Oh my gosh, their vegan sausage sandwich was quite possibly the best sandwich I've ever eaten.
Dinakar Manchikalapudi
Wait time is VERY long. I get that they make it fresh and all, but its still a little too long for my preference. Don't go if you are hungry or impatient. My wife thinks their vegan gumbo was good, but I thought the Food is allrite.
Paw Morris
The burger 🍔 is sooo good! I’m never disappointed, when I buy their food. My go to every time. I 💕 y’all -PawPaw …
Helen Albridge
The mushroom Philly cheesesteak was to die for! And 100% vegan. I will come back here next time I’m in NOLA.
Matthew Sweet
NOLA is a place place people come to eat. This restaurant serves the best vegan Cajon. Enjoy.
La Paloma Eguia
Best Gumbo EVER! Everyone needs to go there! The staff is super friendly and the food is super healthy for you. This is a must stop for everyone looking to get the best quality, freshest, heart healthy and above all extremely delicious. This comes from an extremely picky women. Who’s idea of “healthy food” is a leaf of lettuce on the beefiest burger she can get her hands on. Then proceed to take the hot soggy lettuce off. Toss it to the side and figures the essence of lettuce is plenty of veggies for the day. I tell ya, I was very impressed by the Louisiana flavors just popping out these healthy dishes! All are welcome! Let’s all have some veggies crab cakes with a veggie gumbo. Then follow up with some fresh juices. Meanwhile the Luisiana vibe is playing out in the French Quarters. Just lovely!
Sabrina Free
Krabcake tacos were yummy
Philly Black Vegan was here
Katie B
The staff were so sweet and made it a pleasure to eat here! Vegan crab cakes are a must try!
Samiksha Nate
It's so hard to get vegetarian food in New Orleans. This place is perfect! I went there multiple times in two days and I got the Vegan Po Boy, it was very crunchy and delicious! I wowed to.go there everytime I visit New Orleans.
Rachel Metz
The food was great! I loved my red beans and rice, but the plant-based crab cakes were especially great! Best of all, I got to feel like I was actually eating authentic NOLA food even though I’m vegan! My one and only disappointment was how long the food took...they gave me a 10-15 minute estimate, but it took just slightly over 30 minutes to get my food and I ended up eating after everyone else in my group was almost done with their own food. I still recommend going here because the food is awesome and unique, just make sure not to order under a time constraint!
Laura Cohen
Delicious, healthy food with vegan and gluten free options. Wonderful staff!
Susan Atkinson
Thank you for a healthy, hearty brunch option. Very nice and courteous counter staff. Delicious!
Tommy Zai
Fantastic place to eat authentic local dishes . . . two menus . . . one is for vegan/gluten-free. I didn't think I'd be able to enjoy the flavors of New Orleans, but thanks to Meals From The Heart Cafe I gobbled up a big bowl Gumbo w/Rice and GF Bread. The rest of my gang devoured items from their regular menu. The crab cake tacos looked amazing. We all walked away with happy bellies. Excellent service from a groovy dude named Jay and Yummy food. We'll be revisiting for sure!!!! Note: We took a street car/tram from the French Quarter to the French Market. That's where it is. ;-)
LaToya B.
I love Meals from the Heart. My favorite gluten free pancakes by far. Everything comes in to-go containers right now. I look forward to my next NOLA visit being a time we can sit back up at the counter. I appreciate this Black owned and health conscious, also food allergy accommodating restaurant, smack dab in the French Quarter Market.
Donald Davis
Crab cake taco was exceptional! Seared outside and lots of tender crab inside. It’s incredible how good the food is in New Orleans and this lunch treat is an excellent example!
Liz Clausen
Fantastic gluten-free gumbo that's celiac safe. Will definitely return!
Margaret Gillespie
This food stand in the French Market (which I would not call back alley) serves many gluten free and vegan items. It is convenient to the French Quarter and the Marigny. I ordered the GF pancakes, and they were very good. Even my gluten-addicted husband thought so. There are many good food stands nearby though, enough to please all your companions regardless of their dietary needs or preferences.
jake
What an awesome surprise! Vegan and gluten-free New Orleans food!! We could have spent all day here!! Everyone was very knowledgeable and were quick to offer any substitutions to prepare our meals to fit our needs. If there was a 6th star they would get it!!! Thank you!!
Deyanira Avila
My first time trying beyond burger was here, and they added potatoes (really good tbh)
I would definitely come back, portions are perfect 👌🏽
Sarah
Vegan spicy sausage poboy with vegan cheese added. Excellent!
Laura Carmer
I got the crab passion which was delicious. The dressing and crab cake were delicious. The greens were fresh and tasty. Highly recommended!

Vegan's rejoice- Posting this as it's the only place in NOLA it seems to have VEGAN BEIGNETS. Also extensive vegan menu
Lacey Howard
This place in the French market is out of this world! The guys serving us were wonderful; friendly and a sense of humor, made a ton of food for our family of 8! It was a busy day at the market, being 4th of July weekend. We didn't get any photos of our food, because it was standing room only and we ate hunched over each other and a tiny cafe table. But it was outstanding! You cant go wrong with the chicken tacos, or the vegetarian beef tacos, or the vegetarian hot sausage sandwich, or the chicken Philly sandwich. Delicious!
Sujata Maji
The sea food plater was something for which I will come back to New Orleans again. This restaurant is right in the heart of French market which is a very interesting place to visit.
Kiril Panov
Perfect place for a vegan or vegeterian. You can have many meals that are prepared specially for vegans. The quality is extraordinary and we really liked it there. The atmosphere was pretty good because there is music and a lot of different people. The food was very good and we really liked the burger and the blueberry pancakes. Definitely recommended for everyone visiting New Orleans.
stephanie lk
The food was delicious! It's not easy eating with allergies and restrictions, and I was able to find quite a few items on the menu that I could eat. You absolutely need to have a fresh lemonade with your order - it was amazing!
Bryce Willen
Blown away by the quality and deliciousness. At 6 months into vegan eating, this was the best meal, hand-to-God, that I have had.
The vegan blueberry pancakes were flawless. The vegan crab cakes were the opposite of basic. The sauce that starts with an ‘r’ that I can’t pronounce 🤯. You get the idea.
100% worth a visit.
Peter Nguyen
Great vegan friendly options!! And surprisingly this is one of the few places that charges LESS for vegan options, not more! Usually, the vegan option is an upcharge over the regular menu item; but not here. The food was incredibly delicious - vegan pancakes and vegan spicy sausage poboy were rocking! Unfortunately when we visited they were out of the apple patties that are also apparently a must try.
Lane Lashbrook
So happy to see vegan options for traditional New Orleans food. They’re hard to come by! I really enjoyed the hot sausage po’ boy! I thought the gumbo was good, but not as good as the po’ boy.
Laura Malchoff
One of the best crabcakes I have ever had. Came here as my sister is gluten free and couldn't be happier with the food options and quality both for GF and non GF options. Will definitely be back!
bridgit egosque
Healthy Cajun food in NOLA! Best crab cakes I've ever had. The owners and staff are super friendly. Healthy food full of flavor.

What an AMAZING place! Is a small storefront place with heart and soul vegan food! Vegan crab cakes that are incredible. Had spicy sausage vegan po boy, “chicken” and CC’s Philly sandwiches and both were incredible. Lastly vegan pancake and vegan okra gumbo.
FamIly restaurant with Grandma’s delicious cooking.
If you are vegan you cannot miss this place. And is a must
Maya Patel
Delicious and extremely vegetarian/ vegan friendly! I had the vegan gumbo and it was amazing! I will definitely return before my trip ends to try the other vegetarian options here!
K Frumen
Delicious vegan options! We had the crab cakes, po boy and the gumbo. All were very tasty. We would definitely recommend this spot.

The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about their fare. Good place for those with allergies.
Isabella Spangher
This place has fantastic vegan crab cakes and a kind staff. They have plenty of gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, and meat options so everyone can find something they will enjoy
Adrianna Darden
I had the GF crab cake po boy and it was amazing!! They have lots of classic New Orleans fare available in GF options, which can be difficult to find. Highly recommend!
Myesha
Being Vegan in NOLA can be VERY tricky. We were actually surprised to find several places.
Friendly service!
Fresh food!
The wait was slightly long, but this isn’t Mc Donald’s. If you want freshly made food you have to wait sometimes. I’d wait again and again!
All I have to say is TRY THE VEGAN KRAB CAKES!!!! We wish we had time to purchase more for our trip home to Los Angeles!
Cherise Flowers
I got the crab cake po' boy which was delicious. It was very meaty and I couldn't finish it all! The remoulade was really good.
P Lem
Highly recommend and very healthy. In the French Market. Takes several minutes for them to prepare, be patient. Its worth the wait.
D'Andra Parish-Warren
Located in the French Market, the Vegan options were delicious. The special sauce was great as well. I love that everything is cooked to order, so don't go here super hungry or in a hurry.
kykynest YF
Yummy and vegan. Have your lunch at the outdoor market. And continue on to the river walk
Armando Leduc
Incredible food! Incredible People! Highly recommend visiting this place if you get a chance!!
Troy Meilleur
Great place for Vegan & Gluten free food.Food is GREAT, With Great Service
Anna Holman
Best crab tacos I've ever had. Excellent and friendly service.
Ami McKinney
We stopped by for lunch on our last day prior to flying out. My husband and I both ordered the Vegan Sausage Po Boy and it was delicious. It came with grilled potatoes and fully dressed with a yummy sauce. I must say, I appreciated the roll being whole grain because I am not normally a fan of white bread. The vegan Sausage was quite spicy, so if you are not used to spice or tolerate it well, it may not be for you. I love well flavored and properly seasoned food, but my husband got a case of the *heat hiccups*. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because they had a slight lunch rush due to the other places in the market area being closed (I'm assuming they closed during the week due to less foot traffic with Covid). It took us over 30 minutes to get our food and we scarfed it down and power walked back to the hotel. We got some strange looks, but being healthy has its benefits! Other than that, awesome healthy food fare.
Teri Burgess-Brown
Great vegan options and very fiendly service!
Stephanie Symes
We had never had a Po Boy before and had the mushroom one here, it was amazing!!! They also offer a full vegan menu 😆 Highly recommend this place 😋
D A
Took an Uber to get there for some of their gluten free pancakes, yum yum. Arrived 90 minutes after they opened and they were out of pancakes. I had oatmeal instead. It was good oatmeal but it wasn't pancakes.
Chyena Markley
Vegan crab cakes were so delicious! Great menu for allergies and vegan food! Located in the market!
Yash K
I have a unique way of living to give myself life continuously. The entire staff and owners are amazing. They made sure my entire meal was perfect and met all the uniqueness I needed. They were friendly, knowledgeable and that food baby, was made with love and from the heart! Thank you for an amazing meal!
Nathan Dropik-Landwehr
Absolutely fantastic food. Very friendly family that owns and operates this place. The food is made to order but the vegan food only takes like 10 minutes. The vegan crab cake po-boy is so good that I had it three times over the course of my 5 day stay in New Orleans. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Kevin Schneringer
made fresh when you order, Crab cake is Fantastic! Gluten free due to Celiacs myself and its hard to find some good food sometimes. They have a ridiculous amount of Gluten free and vegan offerings and we tried several sandwiches and a saald all were 5 stars!
Robyn Z
During my recent stay in New Orleans, I ate here 3 times, it was that good! I have to be gluten free, and there were many menu options that I could eat, including gf crab cakes, king cake, toast with omelette, etc. Great place for vegetarians as well. Service was quick and they were willing to answer any questions you had about the menu. I loved being able to have a taste of real New Orleans food while still being gluten free. Everything I had was delicious, stop here for a meal and you won't be disappointed!
Deepak
Good restaurant in French Quarter. Has both vegan and non-veg options. Very busy at noon and has wait time of 20-35mins.
Friendly staff and assisted in customising the menu option.
Restaurant doenst have a dedicated seating and have to reserve a seat next to restaurant. If travelling in a group would suggest to reserve a place before dining.
They also serve fresh juice and the place is open until 5pm. #HappyDining

I struggle to find good gluten free food safe from cross contamination. I have celiac disease so this is very important to me. They make the BEST gluten free crab cakes! I have also tried their gluten free pancakes and they were top notch as well! I will definitely be returning on our next visit to New Orleans❤
Thomas Jäger
Awesome vegan food. A bit pricy but lovely and fresh.
Allison King
We visited this cafe twice on our honeymoon. I did as much research as I could before visiting the city because I knew it would be difficult as a vegan to find meals I could eat. I was so incredibly excited to visit a cafe that shared my values. It was fantastic both times!! The service is amazing, friendly and helpful. The first time my husband had the famous vegan crab cake tacos, wow!! And I had the beyond
Burger with the potatoes and it was amazing! On our second visit I had the vegan blueberry pancakes topped with more blueberries, strawberries and nuts. Omg They were the best I have ever had. Seriously I cannot say enough about them. My husband had the poached eggs and crab cakes on an English muffin. And they were fantastic. Thank you so much!! And if you are ever looking to open another location, please come to Canada!!
SHEILA ALLEN
The pineapple mimosa was delicious. Had chicken and cornbread waffles 🧇 😋
Darrielle Gray
Food was delicious! There was a bit of a wait because the kitchen was backed up. But it was worth it.
Scott Dunbar
They are OPEN!!! This small cafe serves up big plates of delicious, healthy, New Orleans inspired cuisine. We have Celiac Disease in our family and the team here always makes sure our food is prepared dedicated gluten free.
Kristi Bush
The gluten-free crab tacos are easily the best thing I've eaten in New Orleans so far and everything has been amazing! Don't miss these! :-)
kbf94
Best gluten free items I have ever had!!! Passionate family cooking. Friendly and quick service. Pancakes- best I've ever had. Avocado toast was amazing!! Couldn't say a bad thing about em! Go go go!!!!!!!!
Samantha Masquat-Carmack
I was so happy with the crab cake tacos but less than satisfied with the rude man who took my order. There aren’t always a lot of vegan options and I was excited to try this one but it limits our options when we decide we don’t want to come somewhere because of the customer service. I’d for sure recommend the food but don’t expect a warm welcome.
Mohamed Hamadi
Food is good, can't take that away, however you will have to wait a long Time to get your order, approximately 30 minutes, sometimes more. In addition, the place is not cheap. If there is no queue, grab a meal, otherwise i do not recommend.
Caitlin Kwan
One of my favorite places in town! Many vegan options!
Greg Avakian
I love meals from the heart. I'm pretty vegan so I was delighted to find it.
A big surprise was that they have great coffee! Of course the food is great and the people are fun, friendly, and welcoming. You probably guessed that from the other terrific reviews. :-)
Laura
This was honestly my favorite place I ate in New Orleans. I went with a friend who has celiacs disease and the staff were so helpful and careful when it came to preparing gluten free food. Everything is made with fresh organic ingredients and a good portion of their menu is gluten free. I got the black bean soup and it was so amazing! I was originally very skeptical, but it was such a good experience. If you're vegan, gluten-free, or simply looking for a good meal check this place out!!!
Saundrea Fenasci
Food was fantastic! You really can tell that these meals are from the heart. I ordered the vegan crabcake poboy with potatoes & avocado and a vegan shake.. everything was delicious but I must say the vegan shake was the best tasting smoothie I ever had. Thank you so much
Candace Crosby
This is a walk up restaurant with stools in an open air market. They had space heaters above the stools, which came in handy for us as it was cold and rainy. The food was amazing; best crab cake I've ever had as it was very meaty, not overly oily, and very very flavorful. Because it was freshly made, it was a bit of a wait. Totally worth it, though!! They have options for vegan, and gluten free, but the food is fantastic in all adaptations. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this place.
Sierra
The beyond burger was delish and the red skin potatoes with it was a nice change from french fries
morgan kaiser
Awesome food and even better service. The workers were so friendly and I can’t wait to come back!
Ida Shum
Great little place with friendly staff. Had the crab cake with poached egg on English muffin for breakfast. Yummy!
Nick Vuono
Great gluten free and vegan options. Got the pancakes with fresh fruit and some fresh squeezed orange juice. Excellent service
Den Smith
Located in the French market, this cafe offers a variety of dishes for different dietary requirements such as vegan and gluten free. Our group ordered the vegan Philly cheese steak, chicken tacos and the beyond burger and were very impressed. Special mention to the lady serving, she was absolutely lovely and very welcoming.
Jess Browning
Wonderful crab cakes! My friend loved them so much she ordered another. I got the tilapia tacos, and those were fantastic as well. All the food is local, fresh, and organic. They have a large selection of vegan and gluten free food, as well as not serving any pork. Definitely a must if you are traveling with dietary restrictions. They even gave us orange slices while we waited. Staff was very friendly!
Michael Romano
In a city without many vegan or vegetarian options, I was excited to try this place. I had a little trouble finding it because it's not really a restaurant, but rather a bar-like counter in an open-air food court. Very limited seating. The place was very busy at lunch and the staff a bit overwhelmed. My dish was a mixed bag. The steamed veggies were clearly frozen veggies simply reheated without any seasoning, but the black bean sandwich was really delicious. The server was the highlight of the experience. Super-friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a quick and healthy bite, but be aware that it's a tight and busy lunch counter and doesn't have much ambience.
Crystal McCay
Spectacular experience every time. The food is amazing here, I recommend for wonderful vegan cuisine. I honestly am so relieved to come here and find a place that has amazing, fresh, and healthy food that is also vegan and that offers a breakfast, lunch, and dinner option for everyone. The staff is extremely friendly and I leave this place feeling full and refreshed. I especially recommend the vegan gumbo and the vegan crab cake po boy. They will seriously blow you away, vegans and non-vegans alike. I recommend completely
Patricia Garcia
Just absolutely delicious and fresh I had the blueberry pancakes and yes they were divine. The crabcake and poach egg was delicious. I am definitely looking forward to returning and trying more from their menu and you should too. 🤗 …
Stuart Mckinney
This was a little bit of deliciousness, the vegan sausage po'boy, yet however, I know the owner and the chef cooked everything from fresh, it took time though, definitely needs to streamline the process somewhat, but despite it taking its darn sweet time it was truly delicious.
Next time I visit New Orléans, this is high on the list of places to visit.
Crystal C
Love, love, love! Travelling from Canada, we were unsure what kind of vegan options we'd find in NOLA. This place was a GEM! We came here for breakfast and were delighted to have huge delicious pancakes and meatless sausage patties. Left stuffed and satisfied. A great place!!
Cynthia Mercado
Phenomenal experience! Right down to the service - perfect. Every thing was so delicious! The crab cakes were very meaty and not at all too bready or too oily. The sweet tea is like sipping on honey nectar! Incredibly addictive which is no problem at all with their free refills.
Marketing Marketing
Very good and healthy food!! Never disappoints!
April Sellers
Everything was sooooo good! We got the vegan crab cakes, vegan chicken po’boy, vegan sausage po’boy and red beans and rice. Even my non-vegan mother-in-law was in love with those crab cakes and remoulade sauce. Sooo good!
Sasha
AMAZING vegan food!!! Crab cake po-boy is so so good! Highly recommend, food is made to order so expect 15-20 min wait. Great family business and such good tasting vegan options. I’m very impressed (:
Molly Erickson
I have some unfortunate dietary restrictions but I love to eat! Food is what I do for fun, so imagine how happy I was to find a place in NOLA where I could get a gluten free crab cake po boy!!! The food was AMAZING and the service was spectacular. I had to go back a second time before our trip was over. I will seriously dream about that meal until I can get back to NOLA for more. This place is WONDERFUL, you have to try it!!!!
Jenna R.
Wonderful and friendly staff, FANTASTIC vegan, gluten free southern food. This place is hands down the best place I've been to. Vegan crab cakes? Yes please! Vegan AND gluten free poboy? AMAZING. I can't speak highly enough of this place. You sit on a stool and eat at a bar area outside in the French Market, very casual and surrounded by lots to do.
Janet Kownacki
This place is an absolute gem, especially for anyone with food allergies. The gluten-free crab cakes will blow your mind!! And yes, get them for breakfast -- paired with a perfectly over-easy egg will start your day off right. They serve Cafe du Monde coffee, so you can get your fix without standing in that line. Delightful and attentive service, tremendous food, great value! Best meal of my trip!!
Cri Childs
All I can say is wow! This place is awesome, the staff is friendly and the food is delicious they have something for everyone. My favorite part was that the Portabella mushroom sandwich was just so savory and delicious, it tasted like a roast beef sandwich. And they had this vegan mayonnaise it was to die for! Definitely, definitely, definitely come here for lunch you won’t regret it
Mark Kinder
I am a vegan truck driver, every time I'm in the New Orleans area, I go park at the Mardi Gras truck stop, head to town, and eat here. The people that work there have a very good vibe. I recommend it!
Suez Dummett
I'm from New Orleans and a vegan. It was great revisiting the Doucette family business. So happy to support them.
We will be back.
Bill Daws
Absolutely outstanding service and food. An all around fantastic experience. Their apple patties are some of the best vegan foods I've ever had. The amount and quality of the vegan and gluten free options is amazing, and the staff are some of the nicest, friendliest people. This place is incredible.
Ashton Satchwell
The vegan food here is amazing! The 'crab' cakes are my favorite. Thanks for having such great options for us vegans. Most importantly, the staff was very friendly and is passionate about what they're doing.
Ryan Poertner
What a great little family owned shop. Ms. Avril and the staff there were very polite. And having healthier options was perfect. They described what was being done to ensure clean cooking surfaces for our food.
It is located in the farmers market type corridor among other shops. A neat little atmosphere.
I will recommend this place for sure, especially if you need vegan or gluten free.
Thank you Meals from the Heart.
Jimmy Borden
Incredible first meal in New Orleans and extremely friendly. Looking forward to returning.
Matthew Coomer
Chef Kel’s vegan hot sausage po boy and the vegan pancakes are delicious. Healthy and hearty in a great spot for travelers!
Sabine 66
I had the passion salad with a crab cake. The crab cake was delicious. The salad was as basic as it gets, no frills, mixed greens and two sliced tomatoes. There is not great value with this place as portions are small for the price BUT the taste of the crab cakes again were delicious. I would return and most likely get the crab cake poboy (albeit more expensive but I will leave with a sense of satiety at least).
Les Zmolik
They serve each and every meal from the hollowed out center of a heart! Is it human, is it an animal heart? Who cares. It's the heart that matters. The raw once beating heart that they use like plates. Every meal comes from a heart. Delicious?
SFC Burke Engelhardt
This place has the best of NOLA! They offer Gluten Free items, which is the reason we went to them. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING FOOD! Please, do yourself a favor and try them out!
Jasmine Mangual
The crab cake and vegan crab cake were delicious. The gluten free options were nice to find a they can be hard to come by.
Katie Wylie
Excellent place to stop for food!! I love that they had a wide variety of gluten free and vegetarian/vegan options for my fiancé and I!! The gentleman who took our order was very nice and friendly and he can DEFINITELY COOK SOME TASTY FOOD!!! We ordered a gluten free chicken po boy and vegan mushroom Philly cheesesteak. I would highly recommend!! If we ever find ourselves back in New Orleans, we will have to stop here again for sure!
Amber
Eating in New Orleans posed as a challenge for my best friend, who has extremely sensitive celiac disease. These ladies and their amazing chefs took the time to make sure her food was prepared without any sort of cross contamination and truly cared about her well-being. I couldn't have been happier to have found a place that caters to a gluten free lifestyle, and actually follows procedures to ensure that people like my best friend leave with a happy and full stomach. Thank you so much for being just an overall great establishment. Next time we are in town we will absolutely stop in.
I recommend this to everyone who wants to eat delicious , hearty portions of food that are truly made from the heart.
Melissa Y.
I've only been to NOLA two times, and both times I've come here for the vegan food. It's amazing! The owner is very nice and hospitable, the food is DELICIOUS (try the vegan philly cheesesteak and the faux crab cakes 😉). I'm determined to visit every time I pass through New Orleans! …
Rachel Autran
While visiting nola we decided to order some food at Meals from the heart cafe. We were very impressed with the variety of vegan options and super excited to eat there. It is at a very busy place, but they have an effective way of telling that your order is ready by SMS message, while you can easily explore the market. 30 min after our order, we got the message and, when we got there, unfortunately another family had mistakenly taken our food some minutes before we got there. Of course we were quite upset with this event, BUT the worker (I'm so sorry I didn't get his name :( ) was SO kind and he politely apologized for it , refunded our order (even though I insisted we were okay) , and he and the cook team worked on our "re-order" immediately. Long story short: we got our delicious meal 15 min after that, for free, and with an incredible experience of human kindness! Definitely recommend the place! Most importantly: food is delicious!
Ashlen B
This place is incredible. It's a little bit of a scavenger hunt to find but well worth it. They can feed anyone with a gluten free/dairy free/vegan diet, including the king cake. The staff is so kind and make sure you're happy. I can't recommend this place enough. ♥️
Eric Huber (ayricton)
Fantastic food, fresh and healthy, could quite easily be in Sonoma county
Liza Marie
Food was delicious and healthy! It was hard to find that balance of healthy and quick in the market but they most certainly did it! I got the gluten free crab cake tacos with avacado lettuce and marmalade. It was fantastic 😊 …
Nethmal Perera
The owner was very kind and nice, but the food took really long to come out and it was a very very small portion for the price. Despite that, the food seemed healthy. Do not take the side, just go with the potatoes.
Aaron Kinsman
Vegan crab cakes are delicious and the staff was delightful!
clare murphy
Friendly and helpful staff and the most delicious vegan crab, pancakes and gumbo. We visited so many times in the 2 weeks we were in New Orleans because we couldn't stop thinking about the food.
Trixie
I was very happy to find a place in The Crescent City that serves gluten-free crab cakes and gumbo, so I made it a point to visit and try their food. They seem to be concerned about food allergies. All-in-all I can't complain about the taste. It was pretty good. The main reason they did not get 5 stars is the price. One bowl of gumbo (with very yummy gluten-free toast), a single crab cake with a small cup of remoulade, and a kombucha came to a whopping $34! For some that would just be an appetizer and they would still be hungry. While it was good, at that price, I'm not sure how often I'd go back if I were in the area.
Sepideh Miller
The food here was great, and the owners were nice. This is a place where you can get vegan or gluten-free food. We visited this place repeatedly because they have been very kind to food allergy suffers as well. We enjoyed the pancakes, the crab cake, and the oatmeal. The oatmeal came with some brown sugar, some raisins, and either walnuts or pecans all on the side.
kayley Pratt
I wasn't sure what vegan options we would find in the French Quarter market, but this place was divine! They even have a little bar where you can sit, but we found a larger table in the common area.
Their pancakes looked wonderful but we opted for a sandwich. Was not disappointed!
Michael Opalinski
The best place for crab cakes hands down. Service can be about slow but only because they are making everything fresh to order. Crab cake with a poached egg makes for an excellent breakfast option, or a little later in the day I'll go for the fantastic po-boy. All of the ingredients are fresh and tasty, not just the crab cakes themselves.
Lori Lawrence
I read that the po-boy gluten free crab cake was amazing so that is what I ordered. However, it is served on gluten free toasted bread not po-boy. The bread was good just not what I expected. The actual crab cakes were the best I have ever had - gluten free or not. My husband isn't a fan of crab cakes but tried mine and agreed they were very good. I would order them again but on a bed of greens. The salad looked delicious. I had steamed Vegas as my side and they were fresh and cooked perfectly. My husband had the gumbo - very good! We will definitely go back.
Valerie Phillips
My husband and I are in New Orleans for a week and we visited this spot a few times. Our favorite vegan dish was the vegan crab cake tacos and we tried a non-vegan crab cake as well that was incredible. I also recommend the local kombucha and fresh carrot juice.
Claudie Pipilas
Organic, vegan, gluten-free? They have it all. And the owner will take your order & have friendly conversation while you wait on your food. A family owned restaurant in the French Market. We went looking for an organic breakfast restaurant. We weren't expecting a cafe in an open air market. My husband & I were pleasantly surprised & would highly recommend to all out friends.
Roque Rodriguez
I've been to this place before and in the past the service was remarkable. Today I ordered a crab cake and a Vegan sausage and it took 45 minutes to get the order. In the midst of me waiting i watched 2 different groups of people sit, order, get their food, and leave. They ordered the same thing I did. When I brought this to the servers attention, she told.me the food is made from scratch and takes a long time. I've waited 20 minutes before and been happy to do it, but 45 minutes is ridiculous. The server had green hair and lipstick but I didnt get her name. She was VERY rude. I wont be back if I see her there.
Johnnie Rivera
Great golden nugget for vegans in the French Market. First day, my partner and I got the vegan crab cake po’ boy and the vegan crab cake tacos. Second day, we got the vegan mushroom philly, and that was the grand slam of our visits. Highly recommended stop for anyone.
David M
Food was great and my vegan gluten free members of our group were very happy with the selections and quality. If you're looking for great gluten free options you can't normally find, like crab cakes, come here!
Mayank Saxena
Wonderful Vegetarian / Vegan Options .. They make everything fresh. The Market concept brigs out the street food feel .
Must try Vegetarian Crab Cake - I didn't realize Artichokes can be transformed in such a way!
The other thing we tried was the Vegetarian Gumbo.. Yummmm!!!
Paige Crouse
One of very few vegan options in the French Quarter! It was delicious!! Will definitely go back!!
David Couillard
Sweet little counter order place!
We took our order of crab cakes and poached eggs to the dining tables a few feet away and enjoyed one of the best crab cakes we had on our trip around usa. Filled with crab meat instead of potatoes.
James offered excellent service and prices are quite fair.
A nice way to enjoy the French Market in New-Orleans!
Dante Andrade
Best hidden gem in the French Market! The food was delicious and totally fresh, made with so much attention to detail. They have so many tasty Vegan and vegetarian options! The fresh carrot juice was so good! The staff and the owners were so welcoming and friendly! Highly recommended!
Kevin Layton
Vegan Chic'n cheesesteak and the crabcake tacos are out of bounds amazing. The top place we've been in 2 trips. I didn't even have to put ketchup on it. Lol.
Cash Hill
sooooo, WOW.
I ordered the vegan crab cake tacos. When I first tasted it, I freaked out a bit bc I was like, "OMG wait-- I ordered VEGAN!!!" -and it was. Chickpeas and artichoke. Right? Doesn't even sound good-- BUT IT WAS! haha
5 stars for the food and the staff. Super friendly, informative *cough*patient*cough*, and delicious. The food, that is.
Lee Taylor
Food with care and thought
Friendly service, fresh food prepared with care. Apple sausage was the best vegan sausage I have ever eaten. The only restaurant we have visited in New Orleans with traditional, local flavor without it's health shortcomings.
Brian Markus
Great service and awesome gluten-free items.
Sarah Lane
One of my go-to places! My kids LOVE their pancakes and when I go in person everyone is very kind. Thank you for making so many different options and everything I've tried is delicious!!!!
LeAnna Wilson
First place I ate last time we visited New Orleans. Traveling Celiac is not always easy and we were quite pleased with the tasty GF crab cake.
This trip we opted to make Meals From the Heart out last stop before returning home. The experience was not as equally pleasurable. The crab cake was spot on however the menu knowledge, service and general experience were not consistent with our last visit. The server was not very helpful and wound up ringing my order in the way she felt necessary rather than listening and answering my questions. I wound up with a GF crab cake 7.99 + 1.00 GF charge accompanied by a small side of extremely water logged vegetables (4.99)
Take your time to read the menu before ordering so you don't have to rely on the staffs knowledge.
Melanie Keefe
Walk up restaurant with stools in open air French Market (which also offers areas with tables for all) that offers wonderful food. Staff is knowledgeable about gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Everything is fresh and made per request. Very friendly and understanding employees! Highly recommend, esp if on a restrictive diet.
Heather
Sandwiches are ok for a quick snack but service is lacking a bit. Our order was not right but we didn't want to send it back so we just picked off the stuff we had asked to be left off. Lady at the counter was more interested in her conversation with a regular customer than us. Sorry but tourism is what keeps your city alive. Not asking to be treated like royalty, just at least be friendly and get the order right.
Adele Wilhelm
Options include some truly inspired vegan adaptations of classic New Orleans fare. (They've got gluten free and non-vegan choices too). It's nothing fancy, but SO tasty. Ended up even ordering some extra stuff to take home for later!
Matthew Harkins
The dinner portions are huge! We could have cut our bill in half by ordering a half portion for each of us. They surprised me by making a gluten free po'boy that was tasty and didn't just crumble. The menu was a bit misleading because crawfisb was listed as a GF option even though it really wasn't, but the staff knew to help me when I ordered and steered me to the shrimp which actually was gluten free. The meal came with a side salad that had a good mix of veggies and nearly half of an avacado. It took a bit to get the order out, but to me that shows that it was made fresh.
Marie Jacques
This place was AWESOME! the vegan options were so delicious. The staff was super friendly and gave us our food super fast even with a limited hurricane staff. Make sure to try the vegan crab cakes.
Aleksei Moniz Mirov
It's hard to find allergy-friendly food in the Quarter, especially gluten-free and allergy-friendly. Meals From the Heart delivers. No pork products, tons of gluten-free, vegan/vegetarian options, and all of it is delicious, value for money, and fresh as can be. We go here for breakfast every day we're in New Orleans, and it's a delight every time.
David July
A welcome option in the French Quarter, this is an absolutely amazing restaurant with many vegetarian and vegan items. Delicious tacos, po boys and potatoes. Limited counter seating, but many tables available nearby. You will want to come back again!
Michele Gielis
Amazing food for all tastes and diets. I tell everyone to try it. Best blueberry pancakes I've ever had and they do gluten free! Family run. Local food. The best@
Barry Coates
We had this place marked but didn't realize it was inside the French market building. What a great surprise since that was our first stop in the French quarter and it was about lunch time. The service was as good as the food and it was nice having some vegan Cajun spiced options.
Chris Husong
Best vegan pancake and sausage ever. I love to find off the beaten path gems like this place. Food was delicious and service was beautify and sweet. The only down side here and in the whole market is there is no coffee to be found. No coffee :(
Taylor Sherman
Crab tacos were well worth the price- very good. Photos don’t do it justice, whatever sauce they use is SO GOOD.
Lorna Green
This is a definite destination point when in the French Quarter Market. Family owned and black owned, the food is excellent, tasty, and healthy home cooking. We spoke with the two waiters, who were relatives, who said that their grandmother is the major cook with the recipes whose goal from the gitgo was to provide healthy food and that she does. Low sodium, no pork, no transfat with veg and vegan food as well as carne dishes. Had the crab cake po boys, which took me back to my childhood eating at the kitchen table at my grandparents' home. So authentic, not that fake crab meat. Even had tiny bit of shell to prove its real crab. And the amount of crab was huge. Two people can share a PO boy. The vegan gluten free gumbo was divine too!!!And what I neglected to add was that their politics are spot on. The purpose of this joint is to provide healthy food to stop black people from dying of bad food. You just can't go wrong with this place. They may open a second location for the locals, so fingers crossed. Go there NOW!!
Vanessa Farrell
Absolutely love this spot! The vegan gumbo is fantastic! Food always comes out hot and fresh!
Hunter Stape
Awesome vegan crab cakes (especially on a poboy) Came with a salad with delicious dressing. Paired it with a serving of vegan gumbo. An awesome place to have vegan/vegetarian food in New Orleans fashion.
Raymond Sweet
I gave this place five stars, because it met the basics -- does the staff and owner look like the city? Yes. Was it open when I arrived? Yes. So, they get a five, because I want to see them prosper. Most of you won't read the reviews any way. So, I have some notes for the owner -- 20-25 minutes to get ready is too long. It's too hot for all that. Figure out how to decrease your time. Perhaps reduce your menu. Figure out how to make it fresh and quick. Especially, since you only have 7 seats. Get them fed and on their way. You should be offering water to all who are ordering. You had 3 people working the front and it still took two minutes to get acknowledged after I picked up the menu myself and made a decision 3 minutes ago. So, it took five minutes to get acknowledged. I don't understand why you ran out of carrot juice so early in the day. But I guess that's also a good sign. I had the shake and it was delicious. I was expecting it to take more time, but the waitress said they just made a batch. I say you go all the way with the heart healthy and add earth healthy by using 100% paper cups and lids and utensils. Good luck and best wishes.
Tami Clark
I just finished a crab cake taco and my second glass of fresh squeezed lemonade and am feeling very happy with my selections. Thank you for capping off another amazing visit to New Orleans. If you decide to add a second location please consider Lawrence Kansas. Okay

This place is a lifesaver for those of us with celiac disease! And even better: they deliver. We stayed at a hotel in the French Quarter, and each morning, this wonderful food woke us up!
I highly recommend their gluten-free blueberry pancakes, cheddar grits, and morning sandwich. We ordered each morning, and every bite was delicious. They also called us to check-in and make sure we were satisfied. Highly recommend!
Kristal J.
Best vegan hot sausage in town. period.
Valerian Harris
Lots of vegan options, including mind-blowing pancakes and awesome fake crab cakes. Counter staff were friendly and helpful. Counter space is limited in French market, prices are reasonable for the area.
Katy WF
Best gumbo around, visited NoLa having celiac and expected to miss out on all the great food but this place was amazing! non-celiac group members said this was better than the other places they had tried
Dan Hartman
Not only delicious, but GENUINELY SUPER FRIENDLY. Flavorful & healthy. it's hard to find great gluten free food (I got the gf okra gumbo & gf crabcake), but this place does it well. I'll be back for more!
Adam Militello
I had the crab cake and poached egg - not only did it taste delicious, but a woman came to the counter, saw mine, and ordered the same thing because it *looked* marvelous. :)
The green tea with honey came with free refills, and the amazing ladies manning the counter also hooked me up with some orange slices for dessert. Loved it!
Briana
Delicious food, friendly atmosphere, nice staff. Not a lot of seating but delicious and healthy food and some of the only vegan/gluten free options I’ve seen. Fear not if you’re a meat eater, there’s delicious stuff here for you too!
Tharon A
I got the vegan pancakes before I became vegan they're legitimately the best pancakes ever! The staff is so lovely, this is my only breakfast spot while staying in the amazing city of New Orleans🥰 …
Jing Lu
Located in the French Market, this place has the best crab cakes, paired with a lemon grass mayo sources. The taste is better than those fancy seafood restaurant in the French quarter, yet less expensive.
V P
The best vegan, Gf and vegetarian food in New Orleans. The service was fast and the staff were friendly. The reason why I am rating this place a 4 is because they use too much plastic and disposable cutlery.
Lauren Forbes
This is literally the first place I migrate to when I land in NoLa. The staff are so generous and welcoming, no doubt why their food is top notch. Can't recommend the gluten free crab cake po' boy enough!
Meghan Murphy
Delicious, fresh crab cake. Didn’t get a chance to try the famous pancakes. :( good pricing
Mark .Nagra
Unbelievably friendly staff, manager, and food is over the top delicious!! This is our 2nd visit in 2 days, and we’re coming back tomorrow before our flight. Had vegan pancakes, sausage, shake, burger, sandwich so far!! WOW!!! Make sure you try this place!
Christina Ford
I had the vegan Power Shake and the Portobello Po'boy for the first time. It was so delicious! Pretty filling and worth the price if you want a food coma later. Which means leftovers!
Irene Jayma
So good! The staff is great! I am not even a vegan the food is so good we went two days in a row. Considering it’s not a restaurant the place is Soo clean they opened the kitchen door and everything was so organized and Soo clean(please look at the other food places in that market) definitely a go to place and a much healthier alternative. Everything I saw come out that kitchen looks great.Because everything is made to order I suggest order your food walk around the market and come back!
David Echols
I loved absolutely everything about this place. I'm not what can be considered health-conscious but the breakfast I had here one morning was nothing short of eye-opening.
So, naturally, I went back the next day. The food, atmosphere, and the extra friendly staff made me a believer and a fan for life.
Bless Meals from the Heart Cafe.
Amber Williams
Had a hard time finding healthy, vegan options until I found this place! The food was AMAZING, the staff was friendly and the place was clean. I will definitely be eating here again before I leave. You will not be disappointed.
Sarah Faulkner
I have Celiac Disease and was having a really hard time finding gluten free meals in New Orleans. This place was a lifesaver! We went there for breakfast, and everything I had was delicious. The staff was incredibly kind too; I'll definitely be coming back here the next time I'm in town.
Jenna
Gluten free crab cake passion plate is the best. I ordered a fresh squeezed carrot, orange and ginger juice. While I waited for my lunch, I was chomping on a mandarin orange. Everything was awesome and I felt so safe eating GF here.
Ramya Bijinepalli
I had the vegetarian Gumbo here and it was one of the best Gumbo's I had in New Orleans. The place was a little difficult to find and it's an open counter type of place with limited seating, but the vegetarian Gumbo made it all worth it. Very nice and courteous staff.
Nolan Graham
The gluten free gumbo here was the best gumbo I had in NOLA, and the staff was incredibly friendly. Will definitely be coming back in the future!
Tyneir Bethea
I was thrilled to learn about this place because I am GF however the pancakes weren't as good as I hoped or expected...which was interesting considering there is a constant line/wait to order or recieve your food (best to order ahead). Based on the popularity, perhaps their other food is better. I plan on trying their GF crabcake which I'm a bit hesitant being from MD...
Crystle AUSTIN
I died and came back to life here. It was at the French Market so I would recommend placing your order, going to get a drinks, and then coming back for it. I had the vegan spicy po boy and wheeeewwwww best thing that hit my mouth since I got to NO. I loved it from beginning to end, matter of fact I hated that I was eating bc my food was disappearing lol. It's a 100 for me, I'll make it a point to visit anytime I'm in LA.
A. Stolar
In a city full of greasy, heart-attack-inducing food options, we were thrilled to find Meals From The Heart! They had delicious food and great service. We went twice during our 4 days in New Orleans. During busy times, after you place your order, you can walk around the market for 20 mins before getting your food.
Sierra
Yummy crab cakes and sauce! (I want to dip everything it that sauce, Lol). I love how they actually have healthier options. The gentleman with locs was very polite and attentive. Awesome service!
Y Abshire
In a city that is all about the Cajun food, this is a nice find for more healthy fair. The counter service is friendly and welcoming, like stopping by your grams house for lunch.
Crab cakes are VERY good.
Foodies, try this place out!!
Luke Sinclare
Had the gluten free crab cake po boy and it was absolutely fantastic! Plus the staff here was incredibly friendly making Meals from the Heart a complete pleasure to go to. Thanks so much for the great food!
Natalia Diaz
Gluten free crab cake is delicious. Gf okra gumbo is Ok, not great. Gf Cheesy grits are also ok, not great. Their juices are small and pricey. Would stick to the crab cake only next time.
Melissa Garvic
Was worried I wouldn’t be able to experience all the great food NOLA has to offer as a vegetarian. The vegan gumbo is to die for and even my nonvegetarian friend agreed. Kind and helpful staff, I felt and tasted the love.
Jeremy Dankowitz
I was in New Orleans for a work trip and searched Vegan on google and found this spot and that they deliver. These vegan crab cakes are truly amazing and any vegan traveling to Nola should try one.
William Sampson
Tiny walk-up stall in the French Market with some seriously tasty eats. Try their vegan gumbo even if you aren't veg, and prepare for a healthy escape from the heavy fare of the local scene. This place won't wow you with service or frills but they will feed you good and healthy food at a reasonable price. Expect to wait a bit during busy times because they cook to order, and get ready to stand and eat or fight for a single stool in the crowded market.
josel dauz
I dream of this place!! Had a wonderful first and second and third experience when I went to NOLA for the first time. Heading back this weekend and can't wait to eat here many times again. Thank you Meal from the Heart! Love their gumbo, crab cakes and smoothie.
Kasia Byrdak
Let me start by saying I dont think I have ever had a bad meal in New Orleans. I love the food, architecture, and culture of New Orleans. I stumbled on Meals from the Heart Cafe on an early Sunday morning so it wasn't too busy. The gentleman working behind the counter was such a great person. He told me of his experiences in my hometown of Chicago and told me when is the right time to visit the city, what trains I can take to visit the garden district, the history of po boys and so much more. He embodies the spirit of New Orleans. His sister owns the cafe and oh my the food was delicious! Not only did it taste good but it is good for you. I didn't feel sluggish and ready to fall into a food coma. I felt energized and ready to take on the day. I plan on going back to New Orleans frequently and this cafe is one I will dine at every time I go. I love what it stands for and I love the food. You can't go wrong here.
Donna Abbott-Hrenchir
This cafe was amazing! Crab cake tacos are delicious and so healthy. It is a great food option in the French Market. Try it you'll love it!
Felicia Cooper Overmiller
The food was amazing, but it took like 30-40 min to get the food so the wait time is awful, especially if you're really hungry. They have lots of vegan options, which is less common in NOLA.
Julia Moss
The gf crab cakes were bomb, prices for tourists and not worth getting the gf po boy option (which just throws some store bought bread on there). Overall it was filling (for two) and very expensive but fun to sit and eat in the market.
Patrick Wynn
Proper normal food to counteract the indulgence that normally goes with did in the city. Crab cakes are super fresh - yes you have to wait for them - but you can ask for anything to be removed and get it how you want. Salads are tasty and fresh as are the juices.
Alisa Grace
Fantastic food with gluten free and vegetarian options. Pros: fantastic flavor with accomodations for allergies or specific food needs. Cons: it does take a while. Be prepared to wait 30ish minutes to get your food after ordering it. In my opinion, the wait is worth it!
true
Amazing taste, fresh produce 😍 the name does justice to the Cafe. I had the crab tacos. They were simply delish! …
Mara Baker
The best crab cakes around..second time I've come here just for them. Service is wonderful, smiles all around.
I will never eat another crab cake from anywhere else!!!! (And I know a good one from a bad one!!)
Chuck Stager
Had 2 great meals. Crab cake and poached egg, and salmon with grits and egg. Both gluten free for celiac. Came back because it was so good. Excelent quality and good price.
Jo C
Food was great but it took over 30 minutes for two sandwiches. The scenery was nice though so it helped a little bit. I'll probably just stick to ordering through door dash.
Dee Pittman
Obsessed with their vegan gumbo and gluten free pancakes. If you're a local, be sure to get a loyalty card. Fresh sliced oranges while you wait. Very friendly staff...tip them :)
Jeremy W
Had the crab cakes and gumbo, very good and reasonably priced. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!
Christina C
I really liked this spot, I had no idea they were here until I watched a youtuber (sweetpotatoesoul) on her take of this place. I was so interested I passed several times not realizing they are inside the breezeway of the Decatur street open market. I had the philly sandwich and everything was grilled to perfection minus the greasy heartache at the end. I was super pleased and will be back to try umm everything else on the menu.
Agi Ardoi-Csoma
Awesome gluten free vegan little restaurant! The food is delicious the server lady is very knowledgeable about food allergy and very careful to serve everybody's needs! She ask if she needs to be aware of any food allergy before they cook the food!!Excellent place I would recommend it to anyone with food allergy!!!
olivia swadling
Amazing, tasty fresh food served by the friendliest lovely lady! I had the vegan apple cakes and vegan black bean po'body- delicous! I will be back tomorrow for the vegan pancakes!
Lisa Palacios
Customer service lacks, but the muffuletta did not!
GTK Mike C
The best vegan restaurant, operation in the city of New Orleans. Also every staff member is thorough, clean, respective, attentive, and mindful of every guess. Smaller staff but still gets the job done. A must go to restaurant period in New Orleans.
John Quimby
My son is recently diagnosed as Celiac and we've never been to a restaurant that is focused on GF/healthy food. We enjoyed our chicken tacos and crab tacos. I will definitely return while in New Orleans.
LeAnn Dessauer
Fantastic gluten free pancakes!! I had been looking for something different because I was tired of eggs and bacon. The staff was incredibly nice. And did I mention the food is amazing??
Irish O'Sullivan
Multiple great vegan options and friendly service! Highly recommend the black beans soup, mushroom po'boy could have used more mushrooms but was delicious and served with a super yummy sauce!
Fidel Lopez
Black bean and avocado po boy was good after walking around the market.
Brian Benedict
Best gluten and vegan free pancakes ever. Seriously. I have tried a lot of them. These were amazing. People are awesome. Walked 10 blocks just to come back the next day. Don't pass this place up.
Sarah Kennedy
Their crabcake tacos are exceptional! The grits we ordered were prepared perfectly. We will definitely eat here again.
Melissa Ervin
The food was so fresh and delicious! I am vegan and they had so many options. I had the the vegan gumbo. If I am ever back in Louisiana this will be my first stop!
Rachael Smith
It’s hit or miss with the seasoning for the vegan food. I had a vegan crab cake and mushroom Philly cheesesteak and I enjoyed both. Plus the sauce the crab cakes with was so good.
My dad and brother had the okra gumbo and it was soooo bland it hurt. The black bean po boy was also very bland.
It just depends on what you order. But the customer service was great and MY food was good.
Renee Gomes
This was a delicious stop for me and my family!!!! There were plenty of vegan options for all of us, our 2 1/2 year old included. Beautiful energy.....THANK YOU
Stacy Daniel
I ordered the traditional okra gumbo and a cup of coffre. The food was excellent. The gumbo was hearty and thick and I felt love in every bite.
Maggie Taylor
Crab cake poboy is the absolute best poboy I have had so far. Customer service is excellent. This is my 5th time in New Orleans and I have walked past this place every time in the market place not thinking much, I will be coming here every time I visit now. If you are in town this is a must visit!
Ollie Desforges
Came here because it did gluten free food and my wife is coeliac. It did not disappoint. Great food and great service. We can recommend the GF pancakes and poboys (not gf) sandwiches.
Kristen Spear
Gluten free bread options. Had the "philly" sandwich with avocado instead of cheese following the recommendation from the owner. Absolutely delicious! Will definitely go back.
Amber Gentry
Love this place so much!!! We had the red beans and rice, GF blueberry pancakes, and vegetarian Philly cheese steak and sweet tea. Everything was heavenly!
Brittany
The Vegan blueberry Pancakes were amazing!!! worth the wait , but the service was just ok . Look at the menu before you arrive and know what you want when you arrive at the counter.
Kyrstin Ezzell
Meals from the heart is the place I go to every time I am in New Orleans. They have an incredible gluten free selection and the best vegan/Vegetarian food in NOLA.
lexsie jordan
This place has got it going on!!!!! Food is incredible!!! Gumbo was so warm and filling 😊👍 amazing drink selection! I wish more restaurants offered kombucha !! Best of all the staff makes you feel at home and very welcomed !!! Thank you so much I won't forget you 💘 …
Jeremy Hinkson
The vegan chicken cheese steak was perfectly seasoned. It was delicious!
Michaela G
They have delicious vegan and gluten free options!!! Love this place, their service it great too. Been coming a long time with my partner that has celiac and they're very understanding.
Jordan Jones
It takes ~20 minutes to get your food. My tip: Either sit at the bar and eat orange slices, talk to other patrons, or peruse the market.
They chop up fresh crisp veggies and use a minimal amount of oil. After a day of NOLA's heavy food, we found Meals From the Heart Cafe to offer a selection of deliciously healthy options that made us feel great.
Angie S
The best vegan pancakes we've ever had! Can't go wrong with this place. Every meal is an experience.
Shane Gilsig
Brilliant. If I could, I would go back if only to eat here again.
And the sisters! Warm, funny, smart, welcoming...I could go on but sitting here thinking about how great it was to eat there is making me hungry; so I'm going to go and eat.
Take my advice (because why wouldn't you take the advice of a guy you've never met) if you find yourself in NOLA, eat here...often.
Jaime Ledesma
The best crab cake I’ve ever had, and it was gluten free!! The owner is nice, and he uses his mom’s recipes.
Palak Mehta
Loved it! Totally recommend the vegan blueberry pancakes!!
Sitting arrangement was like an outdoor market place.
Would love to go back again!
Customer service was ok.... But great food!
Stephanie Silva
The absolute best meal I had during my visit for food allergy. The flavors were unreal and the food was fresh. The people were so incredibly nice. I would have eaten there every day!
Nicholas Catucci
Finally found vegan Po' Boys. Both the crab cake and the black bean were amazing. The sauces were also vegan, and fantastic!
Adam Forrester
Great if you need vegan as your choice is a little limited in New Orleans. Good for a quick lunch stop but not amazing. Staff were good.
Andre Roberts
The food was great. First time eating there and loved it! 👍🏽 …
Mike Grumbles
We ate a late breakfast and the whole wheat pancakes are simply awesome. Friendly service with a smile. Whole family liked the food.
Ivan Martino
The staff are attentive and very friendly! I enjoyed the food even though it's nothing extravagant, all the food is fresh and very well thought out for presentation. Must visit it at least once if you're veg!

The crab cake passion is so delicious! Loved that I had a healthy, gluten free option while visiting New Orleans!
Jennifer Parnell
There is nothing that isn't delicious. You don't need to be vegan to enjoy this amazing soul food. Get the ma and cheese and the sweet potatos... And a bit of everything else!
Ashley Antia
Still thinking about the delicious vegan crab cakes I got while I visited years ago. Heading straight here when I come back !
cory branson

A delicious treat in the Quarter. The Kid would write a poem about it if he could remember who he was.
Cecilia Meyer
Had the veggie po- boy. Delicious and fresh! Staff was helpful with describing options. Food is made to order so this is not fast food, but worth the small wait.
Martin K
I left very hungry after paying 15$ for the #1 breakfast... It was tasty, but I'd have needed at least twice the amount of food to leave satisfied. Definitely not a low-priced location!
Carrie Jordan
Great crab cakes and friendly people. Fun to sit in the French market and have a healthy GF option for crab cakes and gumbo. YUM.
Elise Bremer
Was here twice for gluten free food during my visit, amazing breakfast and crab cake tacos. Fun to sit in the French Market while you wait for your food.
Megan Stuart
Pro: Great food.
Con: Their customer service is lacking but it's a very busy place so I understand it's hard to keep up with everyone trying to order. It took a while just to get a menu, like 15mins.
Shelah Webster
Food was amazing! We went two days in a row because they had excellent healthy options and it's tough to get a good healthy meal here! Great service and food!
Brandon Germenis
Love the crab cakes and gumbo. Service is great. One of my favorite spots to grab a quick bite.
Wayne Hamilton
I had a portabella and vegetables poorboy. Food was disappointing for the price and pretty tasteless. Wife had a Cesar salad, didn't even have romaine lettuce.
Tra Urban
Outdoor food court in a covered flea market.

Was under the impression that this was a Vegan restaurant it is not. I did find some vegetarian options that were very good. Everything was prepared fresh so it took a while to get our order.
Karolina Janik
The meal was great, loved the homemade dressing and the crab cake was seasoned well. Only reason I'm not giving five stars is small portions for the cost.

Came for breakfast, lots of healthy option. Small place, so if you want fast, no wait, then not best option. More of a bar style restaurant.
Adebowale Prest
Really loved the vegan crab cake tacos. It's an outdoor cafe in the French Market
